"Last through the middle of this year. And an investigation is underway and Lynn after a man is violently attacked outside of a local convenience store. This was on Western AB on Wednesday night, double BBC TV's Can. The club spoke with Lynn Police Lieutenant Michael Time back when he didn't return home after a brief period of time, another family member went out to look for him. And they found him on the sidewalk. He was unconscious, his head split open by a blunt object. But if he went to the hospital in critical condition, police learned of a man who had apparently seen everything we know that a witness saw the incident occur because he stopped and he talked with the victim's family. But that witness never spoke to police who at the time were working a similar attack just blocks away in market square. We're a 29 year old woman was struck from behind, also with a blunt object. Her injury is not is serious. But this pair of random assaults as clearly rattled folks here. Excuse me to go out. I don't want to be attacked. "Luck. You got for some reason, The Hawk thinks that's pretty funny. Look at him. Okay? That's pretty funny. Go ahead. Adam put him on really quickly. I gotta ask you so normally is. We're bumping back into the top of the hour. I'm not watching the program monitor on the bump back. I can't lie. First of all, we are live from the rock and mortgage studios. Rocket mortgage is giving away millions during Super Bowl 55 With Rocket mortgage Super Bowl Square sweepstakes. You can see rules and enter for free today. Rocket Market Square's da com All right. So, Adam, I bring you back for the second time today. First of all, congratulations on that. Great. Sit down with the ash. Thank you. Many views is that up to now? I think it went from 63 to 83. Good. Good. Good for you. Good for him. So, for whatever reason I normally do not check that bum pack is intently as I did, And there's Alvin with his cans around his neck, not over his ears, but around his neck and they're backwards, and I referenced it. And for some reason, you think that's the funniest thing ever, at least judging from your reactions through the glass. Why is that? I mean, I'm a funny guy generally, But why is that so funny? Well, it's a funny, uh, the way you just said. Cool dude, because we have been making fun of him for the way he wears his headphones like the way doctors where stethoscopes and we don't know why. I just asked him real quickly before I jumped on, I said, is that because your hair because I think I've asked him that before. It's not because of his hair. I think it's just like a style like this one best up his hair, but I think it's like a style thing. You know, like DJs will wear their headphones like on their shoulders like I'm working so hard to keep these damn headphones on in any way. Do you see how rich it is? That you're asking why somebody would do anything when it comes to style? You don't find that rich. I mean, I think my whole life is one giant oxymoron so I can't stop to check myself. I just got to keep going. And when it comes to talking about Alvin, wearing his headphones right that he does oxymoron. I don't know. I know what the moron part means. But I just think it's setting you up for that. Even if I could have that have been easy. But like why you're using words that you don't know. Do you know what that means? Oxymoron, given example of an oxymoron. Something that doesn't make sense compared to something else. Sort of. Kind of not really like jumbo shrimp, Jumbo shrimp? Yes. Um, and another thing that Alvin does. More than anyone, and it's because of the proximity to the camera as he has a real good feel for when it's on him, And he'll just glance up and just keep a dead straight face like he's zoo lander like he's making love to the camera, and he does it like on every single bump back. It's incredible. So the combination of you picking up on the headphones that he wears like a doctor, and then the make love to the camera. Look, it was just a great moment. All right. Thank you for sharing that that helps. Now I know why you think that's so funny because you've been talking about that for like, Yeah. Yeah, that's me in the camera. Bobby. It. The irony, though it's dripping with irony that Alvin would quote make a love to the camera. It.

"Once upon a time there was an armourer named martin. Martin spent his days working with metal using it to create glistening swords sparkling shields and full suits of yes glittering armor and everyone agreed that of all the arms in the city. Martin was the greatest. Oh you should see. The sword mar made for me last week. It schumer's like moonlight on the water. Well you should see the shield he made for me. It glistened like the stars. I don't doubt it. The suit of armor he made for me is so shining so bright. It's reflects i chimera. Martin lived with his children natalia. And conrad in a tiny house at the edge of town. Martin's shop was in the basement talia and conrad loved traipsing down the steps to watch their father work i. He retired on his thick leather apron. Then he would heat up his medal into glow to fiery yellowish orange and grew soft and bendable after that he would use a heavy iron hammer to forge the metal into all different shapes. Then you would let the metal cool and he polished rubbing and scrubbing until indeed. It reflected like a mirror one summer morning. Martin told natalia conrad that he would be gone for the day on business. Listen you to. I need to deliver a full suit of armor to a customer who lives far off in the countryside. He turned to natalia natalia. You're the oldest. So i want you to look after your little brother. While i'm gone of course father i'd be happy to conrad rolled his eyes. Oh come on father. I don't need my older sister to babysit. I'm a big kid now. I know you're a big kid. Conrad and getting bigger every day. But for now you'll do. Your sister says hokey dokie. I have a long trip ahead of me. Need to skedaddle. Have fun today. My dears martin kissed his children goodbye and out the door as he disappeared down the street. Natalia turned to conrad with twinkling eyes. I have an idea little brother. The circus is in town. They're performing in the market square right in the middle of the city. Would you like to see it. Conrad's face broke into a grin. You bet i liked to see the circus. Let's go when natalia and conrad reached the market square. They were greeted by all sorts of enchanting sites. Agile walkers tiptoeing towering tightropes graceful acrobats swinging from flying trapezes plus nimble-fingered jugglers funny face clowns and hearted riders standing breath and tall on the backs of gleaming galloping horses during a break in the show. Natalia and conrad wandered around the square and saw vendors selling all sorts of goodies toys. Books candies but then. Hey natalia something else caught conrad's look over there. Look conrad pointed toward a jagged heap of stones in a shadowy narrow alley off the square. There's the old stone building to one worthy. Say the bacilus cliffs. Natalia felt her blood run. Cold everyone in town knew the legend of the basilisk. It was said that the bacilus kept the body of a dragon. The head of a rooster tail of a serpent down in the dink dark cellar of the old stone building. The bacilus stood guard over a magnificent treasure and if you stared into the bacilus glowing red eyes you would immediately turn to stone so sister conrad's mouth lifted into a mischievous smile. Are you thinking what i'm thinking. Natalia's is grew wide. Wait a minute brother. Your not thinking of actually going in there are you. What about the bassil. Ihsc bacilus sh- massa lisk don't be such a 'fraidy cat sys like dads said. I'm a big kid now. And i'm going to prove it

"One of the more metal things in Bruges. Probably the only metal converge everything else is like lace and swans and chocolate. And stow offals. Oh my God I love fruit We went during Christmas time. And so there's this ice rink in the middle of those of the Market Square. Yeah and that's where the Christmas market was too. And then so we were hanging out of the Christmas market like just eating our way through every single stan. And we're watching. She like all these little kids on the ice skating rink and they had a little sleds like they like they're holding onto a little sled shares in just like skating around and it was just the frigging cutest thing like the belfry tower. Our just looming right behind them. Oh my God. It was so cute and Leah's deathly afraid of ice skating so she really wanted to grab one of those kids chairs so that she could go ice skating. Not that I'm deathly afraid. It's it's that I'm incredibly logical and I know my own personal limitations. I would definitely like severely injure myself savvy. Don't have adult size which I am very you know in Norway. They have sleds. That like you step onto them and you just push off and it's exactly like that and it got to use one in Norway. This is another story unrelated another episode episode about got me sledding and Norway. I really loved watching all of the little carriages go around the market square. Oh my God babe do you remember the Pug I do remember the Pug okay so so. They're not just a pug puppy and it was wearing a little Santa Costume and it was the cutest fucking Shit I have ever seen in my life he was. It's like driving the carriage like such a good boy. His face like he just looked like the crankiest little grumble mafia and he was like. Why am I in a Santa Costume? I hate this but it was so cute you and he was loved. He was so happy because then his owner came back and he was really happy. You guys like ninety percent of our best memories in Bruges where that Pug I'm GonNa be honest the Pug and the chocolate. Luckily that's why we want to go. Yeah but we will definitely be staying in a different place. 'cause I really enjoy the place where we stayed fucking AIRBNB. Yeah it was actually like a nice airbnb like it was really well located. It was just like just nearby everything walking distance to the market really well located and we were really excited because I I had a little kitchen and we were GONNA do like Christmas dinner with ourselves. We're sharing it with like four other people because we were broke off and actually this was a splurge from us because we'd only been doing in hostels up until this point so the fact that we had a private room and there were only like five. Other people in the apartment was really exciting time. We wanted to ball for Christmas. You now it turns out that the entire AIRBNB was really this guy's office no idea what he does but he lives a couple of doors down and the first sign of problems was I think our first tonight or something. We were cooking and we broke a bottle of warchest. Show your however you say that sauce Wurster Wester Sauce. It is not worcester sauce. saw there's like forty seven letters in this word. forty-seven towns in England named Worcester and also one in Massachusetts. We're supposed to believe Massachusetts. That one. I now I was born in Massachusetts. Worcester you can say like Worcester. If that makes you feel about my dad always called it worchester sauce. That's not accurate. Not at right now. Okay now anyway so we had to call him over after we broke the bottle but they were like super cool about it and they were like a you. I'm pretty fucking clumsy. Era should all the time usually. It's not in somebody else's kitchen but gave the guy came over and he was really he was like. Oh it's fine it's cool. It's no problem hindsight inside. He was probably like these fucking American. He was yeah he definitely already hated us. So then it's like Christmas Eve and we've gone like this really cute little we'll butcher and we'd gotten pork belly. I think we looked up like the name for an advanced. Don't remember and we were GonNa GonNa Cook it the Danish way rate with fruit and all spice and all this really great stuff that we had to shop for for that specific meal yes cooked are really amazing Christmas dinner. It was super romantic and we were like. Oh Wow Christmas honeyman while great and then this dude comes home let like two in the morning in the morning. Just like Hi-fi Ah Shit just scream in his fucking head off pounding on our door Christmas and we're like what what's what's up like did what's going on their fire. Here's his first grievance. The House smells like Bacon. Because first of all you're welcome. Yeah no no it. Didn't the kitchen smelled kind of like bacon because we made like delicious Danish pork belly for Christmas dinner. Why are you here at two in the morning on Christmas before the delicious Bacon I can smell has a chance to air out and the second problem that he had was that there was a stain on his coach? which was definitely there when we arrive? 'cause I remember looking at it and being like Oh but also you get what you pay for. And it was a cheap place. But also his evidence circumstantial at Best I. One of the guests was a doctor and he said there's no way it could have been them because he's a doctor. That was the whole argument. Like congratulations but like doctors spill bill shit too. Because we you know broken entire bottle of with juster sauce teammate. Now I can't say it either. So just because he has more schooling doesn't mean that he doesn't have the ability spill something on the couch. Your Dad for instance Super Smart Successful respect the hell out of him and I see him spill something on every piece of furniture he sits on. That's true that's that's where I got it. That makes so much sense now and the other person just happened to be this guy's friend and I love my friends but I know which stains on our couch which are from us. and which are from our friends can just feel my eyes. Just glare and you're right now. I mean we're getting rid of that couch soon anyway so now but the point is it wasn't us it wasn't it really wasn't we sat on that couch exactly hunts and we didn't have anything to eat or drink on it and then he like when went on this rampage on AIRBNB. He left US nasty review and then we like had to like nasty review him back and then I had to appeal to AIRBNB and be like. I don't want to pay for this dude. You ruined Christmas. Because we spent like the actual day of Christmas. We were just sad and depressed and afraid of getting near the couch and ruined the day of Christmas for us to Airbnb as credit. They responded with essentially. What was your fuck that Guy And then refunded. They helped us out and we were in Bruges so like Airbnb but then we stepped outside and it was magical Swan Qalandia with Christmas markets and amazing beer and like awesome waffles and chocolate cod. It's the best way to wake up on Christmas. Yeah whatever that was literally the only negative that we have about Bruce and it's super avoidable. Just don't stay at that specific Airbnb with that specific guy. I really hope that he doesn't actually.

"Bias the nine eleven story. Yeah. Going back on this day seventeen years ago early morning WIBC if you were to turn on the radio the biggest story was that Michael Jordan was getting ready to announce his second comeback to the NBA. Now he'd already made his first comeback. He did that against the Indiana Pacers at Market Square Arena before he won the second round of championships. This was Michael Jordan getting ready to come back for the second time. And this is what it sounded like before the attacks on WABC. Good morning. It's seven thirty nine WIBC, Vince, watch sports sports director with me here. This morning events will be talking all morning long about Michael Jordan coming back after that three year retirement that three year layoff, and he has been working out what for the last several months, and and I guess the question is whether or not he should be coming back. That's the voice of Jeff Pidgeon who's hosting the morning show with our very own Terry. Stacey it'll pigeon Stacey. And Vince Welch was the sports director. At that time that was probably ten fifteen minutes before this bulletin happened. Thank you very much. We're following late. Breaking story here to this morning. A plane has crashed into the world into the World Trade Center tower in New York City. This is absolutely spectacular. We'll have the latest from ABC in just a matter of moments here. Ten seventy WIBC and from our new center to this morning. I'm telling you folks, this incredible plane crashed into the World Trade Center tower in New York City, some of this film is absolutely dramatic. And the. Sense of loss and terror and at the same time trying to report what's actually happening. It's a very very challenging time for broadcaster and still that was a time where Jeff Pidgeon wanted to make sure he was right with the facts, Terry. Stacey was part of that morning show. I've talked to Terry a million different times about being on the air that day, and it was so important to get the information right because long before the term fake news was used in vernacular. There was a lot of aromas information going on. Yeah. If you remember that day, if you remember nine eleven there are so many bogus stories of a plane was hijacked here. Or there's a report of another plane down over here. You had to be right. And that takes us kind of to what Joe Scarborough did in the Washington Post and MSNBC this morning. So Joe Scarborough the host of morning Joe on MSNBC. He also writes for the Washington Post he decided today he was gonna make the deaths of over two thousand innocent people. A reason to bash President Trump he wrote a piece in the Washington Post and then Joe and his lover Meco decided to talk about it on MSNBC this morning. Trump is harming the dream of America more than any foreign adversary ever could for those of us still believing that Islamic extremists hate America because of the freedoms we guarantee to all people the greatest threat Trump poses to our national security is the damage done daily to America's in America is an idea. And if you strip America of its ideas America is an idea you've got America of that idea. That's when you do the most harm to America. Pompous pathetic pin headed liberal morons. Isis is the rise of ISIS happened under their leader under their fearless emperor. President Obama they get squashed under our leader President Donald Trump, the fact that they are still in that mindset where we can just give America makeover. And and just balan- be the nice people, and somehow that's going to just rub little Sav on the wound. And we're not going to have to deal with this anymore. The level of ignorance from some of the people that are in the mainstream media is astounding it just feels gross to say that the death of two thousand innocent people seventeen years ago is not as bad as what the president's doing right now, you may not like Donald Trump. And I know a lot of you don't but to say that people who lost their children who lost their, husbands and wives their fathers their brothers and sisters that was not as bad as what President Trump's doing to America is insulting. That's absolutely grow. Oh, said, you know, what I don't even really want to spend another minute talking about it would. I would rather spend time talking about is the brave actions of those on flight ninety three because it does it feel like to me anyway. And this is just my opinion. Brian the actions of those passengers on flight ninety three they took the flight down into the field and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Feels like that's an under told story. Yeah. We always hear about the towers coming down. We hear about Washington and the Pentagon and the chaos, but that was the spirit of America a group of passengers that knew they were going to die..

Commission president on, code YMCA have agreed to suspend new tariffs while negotiating lower barriers to trade the deal eases. Tensions stoked by Trump's threat to impose new tariffs on car imports. Particularly for more let's bring in Bloomberg's senior reporter for international affairs Mark champion he, joins us in our London studio. Mock is this real progress I mean do we. Call it a dealer to recall an arrangement I think it's a. Fair it's a fair question there's I think possibly the best way? To look, at it is to say what is different from before Trump started to take aim at the EU and if, you look at the text of the joint statement they talk about a new phase in. Relationship between the US, and EU in which. They'll be close partners and they'll trade a lot on that is, the old phase that's the pre Trump faith so in one sense nothing much happened there if you look at the details they talk about they're. Going to they're going to talk about having a go on, trade where they look at a whole range of different, sexual areas where they can reduce tariffs there was a quite developed at trade deal, in the works the t.. Tip or the transatlantic trade. And investment partnership and. That, had the same working at twenty four working groups on energy medical instruments, all these kinds of things Very similar except much, more specific and broader and it was difficult it was, really hard and it was very unpopular because it was going to open up regulatory, areas subsidies and so on Quite, protected in Europe But Trump hasn't been very. Interested in that deal so you. Have to ask yourself is this just an agreement where the right words were said to keep Trump happy and to stave off these tax These, tariff proposal I think in in one of, the stories this morning talks about a semi semi piece de a semi. Truce being called but, if the, focus, is, autism, by, the way the auto industry this one and anybody that's in, this, morning the owners of. The lead in on the upside. Pushes up four point one percent fit, cries of course decide news unsocial Maccioni passing away in the past twenty four hours at three point eight seven percent Volks Feigen so they're all doing quite nicely this morning futures up another two percent, and if they, can close that gap between ten percent on the imports from the, EU and the United States and the two and. A half percent charged by the, US that could be the cherry it could be but it's quite noticeable that the the joint statement didn't mention carts So, it's not clear that they are going to be you know the I said that they would biggest level of angst will, be well I think that the angst is now removed. For the moment and that's why you're seeing this response in the market but the the joint statement. Said that they would work, towards zero tariffs on non auto industrial goods so. They're not discussing cards and that's a good thing for, the car, industry You know they were mainly worried not by the. Terrorists themselves that exists now they were worried by by the thought, of a tariff War I have to ask you what kind of a position do you think. Those occur is to deliver on the promises he made he was talking. About yes we will be increasing soybean imports. From the United States or at least that was what Donald Trump, was talking about also saying that Ellen g imports who will rise from European perspective to, what extent, Conjunto junk actually impact well has to be said the EU is. An institution the EU doesn't by any soya beans and it doesn't. By any energy what it does do is the regulatory stuff, it does negotiate trade deals so it can your John. Claudine kids the right guy to talk to you about tariffs is the right guy to talk about. You know make non tariff, barriers to trade in the EU and so on He's the wrong guy to talk about buying soybeans or Ellen g he does the commission has taken a quite strong position to diversify Europe's energy supplies and that it has a particular focus on Ellen. G so it's, it's already singing with the choir there and in fact there are some countries like Poland and so on that a building and hat built to draw.

"Who's now or a retired senator uh what's the mayor of indianapolis at that time and he there were some people were trying to talk about building a and read out in the suburbs that kind of things that he's finally stepped in into said no we're going to do this downtown and he spearheaded the effort and they built market square arena downtown which opened in ninety seven d yeah seventy four seventy five per season apart square in that revitalized downtown uh you know there were you i grew up here and as a kid yeah it was fun excited to go downtown and go shopping and so forth but it has shopping malls opened around the city uh here like everywhere else in the country in the early to mid 60s downtown was dying and there were arc go now unless you happen to work there uh so the building in market square read it began a revitalization uh uh trish downtown indianapolis and but other things and you could argue that you know with the coal spee here if not for the pacers success downtown in it it their folks from eighty four uh any doubts kinda proven itself as a major league sports city uh dr out the apples today frankly is doing great there's all kinds of things going on in the pieces are in the do facility bankers life the old house but they played at market square 1974 up with joe 1999 and it was a great home and a lotta great moments happened there too so um you know the if not for the success the abc pacers uh downtown indianapolis is probably not what it is today.

"Like that and so the the indianapolis team comes into existence estona why they did it again here's another thing we're the sales job i mean run one st must have been a really good sales because he sold david in rodney going she's two brothers with only a little bit of maybe sports background rodney had played a college soccer on i don't think david had uh but somehow they convince them that the team in indianapolis in their coming on the recycling in the summer at market square arena was going to do great guns um didn't turn out that way obviously but uh i think that they thought it would um they just didn't really know how to go about it and that's been the downfall of a lot of these kind of offshoot teams or these alternative leagues is that people get into with good intentions but they really don't have their eyes open in terms of okay what is it going to actually take for us to be successful and that means a lot of effort has to be put into ticket sales and marketing so when you see a club now just to go back outdoors for second sacramento republic fc when they launched they said here's what we have to do and they went and got people that had actual professional sports experience at of majorleague level who understood what it took to sell tickets into market and to be a big league franchising to look like even though you're playing at that time the third division that you were a professional team with gravitas and it was something worth spending your discretionary dollars on going just never got that i don't think in the to your history the team ever really had anyone who was selling tickets we had people who were in charge of keeping track of tickets and we had people who were in charge of making sure that you know tickets got where they had to be but we didn't have anybody physically selling tickets until about midway through the second year so the first year was just so you have all that expansion thing and mean most expansion teams are a little bit of a circus from the getgo but then you put this pressure of you have an inexperienced ownership group with an inexperienced front office in the league that has its ups and downs in a market where the game hadn't.
