"Is do takes. Big swings moves up in the draft. And sometimes those things don't work out now kevin white Leonard floyd who was plan Against the tampa bay buccaneers yesterday instead of four. The chicago bears right now. He's playing the la rams. So you know is is is a long long fight that bears fans of had. There's a lot of different gangs in the city Is the bulls gang. There's a sox. Gang is a cubs gang and we all fall under the bears umbrella to see this happening. The way we've seen it happened before is just is is painstaking to say the least because mondays aren't fun around here when the bears loose and is not going to be a fun monday through saturday for that organization. Do you think nagy makes the season that you think you lasts. I do this. This isn't a group that fires people in the middle of seasons. Even when they're supposed to be like the marc trestman era was as almost as bad as it gets because as as the best but when marc trestman lost the locker room pretty much two weeks into the season he thought to yourself right. They're not they're not buying into the cfo guy stuff so well you're going to do here and another year in. Oh so i don't believe the matinee. He's to be five. It'd be surprised if you be fired. But i wouldn't disagree with because yesterday to me is a culmination thanks. Now you've had enough quarterbacks and now do i want you to ruin this one. Do i want you to not protect this one. I want you to not roll the pocket and and play to his strengths. You already got that. Mr bisky right. If this guy is a a highly idealized version of what mitch. Trubisky should have been you know. Mitch had his one year. North carolina's two time offensive player. The in the big ten damn good conference right so if you can't get what you need to get out of him going forward these next two or three weeks can be very very key. Not only mega. But i think for justin fields. So because we saw zach wilson. Zach wilson got hit a whole bunch. I games second game. Zach was moving around what happened. Three interceptions in the first half. So you gotta be very careful with these guys and you gotta play to their strengths. And i'll think that matt nagy wants his system to be the star instead of his players starring in a system that is built around them. That sounds personal. And i'm not. I'm not saying you're wrong unity but like that say that. I don't want to adjust what i'm doing to tailor. This to his strength like that in itself vets true then he shouldn't be in the building if if.

"They're not as bad as they thought they were. And then they ended up losing by twenty points and they are just as bad as they thought they were and again the defense can be bad. I have something more important to talk about though what. What does chris collins worth matinee. What's going on there. So i think it's just because and used to play for the bengals. Chris has like a thing for a former bengal that god away and he's openly rooting for any dog because he saw dalton bring competent quarterback play to the bengals which is a rare thing in cincinnati. So i think college worth is now going out on a full college. Prep was so. What's the word festivities is at the. Sat word on andy dalton and new silver pairs of talk about andy that he didn't even know what matt stafford's wife looked like. Did you see that yesterday. yeah. Chris was like all blondes. Look the same from behind to me i. I can't tell it was worried. You say hank it was crazy. We'll always going to say you during the game. You like upset at chris cosworth and you're like find out what he made. Memes go find out. Find out how chris collins worth matinee know each other pick the oldest that made sense as a cincinnati cincinnati also. Matinee went on. Chris collins was podcast and i like chris collins worth but it was crazy how much. He was supporting matinees. Decision and being like justin feels doesn't know how to read defense dude. He played at ohio state. He played major major college football. He's like not stupid he knows. Of course there's rookie. Shit that he probably will make mistakes. Zach wilson mate's mistakes today. I'd rather have our jets fan. I'm happy zach. Was out there making those mistakes. Because he'll learn it was just it blew my mind. I don't know what chris collins worth matinees relationship is but it reminded me of and you guys might not remember this. But i think bear. Remember this jon. Gruden on monday night football. I think it was like twenty thirteen or fourteen just completely shitting on jay cutler. Because jon gruden used to have mark trestman on his coaching staff and essentially just spending the entire broadcast being like marc trestman. Trying its best but the guys are you know. His quarterback does not know what he's doing and just sitting there being like what the fuck is going on. Why can't you just call this. How it is like mark trestman. Not a great coach and matt nagy not starting. Justin feels doesn't need an entire broadcast. Having someone defend him. The way the chris collins work did. Yeah and if there's one thing that we will not stand for on this show it's people that do a podcast being biased towards their guests we will. We would never do bias. We met we admit it. We admit our bias everywhere binary open when we're biased we say when we're biased right now so we're not on like we're not doing sunday football. I think it's a little. I'm being biased. right now. everything that. I say you should not listen to me and expect any sort of neutrality switzerland but if chris collins were bias on his podcast. I don't give a fuck. That's his podcast right. This is a broadcast. Basically telling us were just fields is an able to start in this game and anyone who thinks otherwise an idiot. Yeah the only thing that he was nutting over harder than andy. Dalton was that circle video board that they had just amazed by a circular television and also the quote that he used for. Sean mcvay which i'm not gonna put on collins worth i'm gonna put on mcveigh where mcveigh said. We love jared goff. He set up the rams to be a franchise. Good enough that matt stafford would wanna come here. That was the most brutal thing you can save a guy. It's essentially the marinas. It's the it's the it's the woman being like. Yeah my husband was so nice to me and he taught me how to learn and how to find a new boyfriend that can give me great sex exactly. Yeah like a guy just being like listen. My first wife got me to the place where i was comfortable and confident enough and myself. I could go out and hit on other chicks to her. She did a great job. We appreciate her time that she spent here. It's a girl breaking up with you and being like you taught me how to love and how to respect myself. Yeah all listen all the pictures that i put of us on instagram together. That made other girls be like holy shit. This guy. this guy is nice enough and normal enough that he can have a girlfriend now. I'm interested. yeah you talk me that. I would like more than two inches. Yeah okay so you taught me some great lessons. That i need to. I need to to think of myself. My own self worth as higher than i was when i was with you. That's essentially with sean mcvay said so. Who's very hurt my feelings. That thing i hope jared goff wasn't listening who played well today in the second half but Yeah so that was the game socks. The bears are going to be bad this year. I'm not going to let it affect me week in and week out. That's the one nice part is that i. My expectations could not be lower so that you can't get hurt as much when you really don't expect anything. Guess what we'll gets everything else but still in first place at the nfc. Nor i think gin blossoms said that if you don't expect too much from you might not be let down. Yeah there we go. It makes sense. I'm i'm okay. The only problem i have with the rams performance tonight because i think he played a pretty good all around game of football They've too many captains on offense to many captains they've got a whitworth on the line..

"Kind of looked saying but And that's said that bloodiest and the most kind of brutal chapter of the second world war is what curtis lemay does japan in december. Nineteen forty five is like what happens when you bring in the guy who has no illusions whatsoever. No grande attachment to technologies no commitment to fighting kind of clean and perfect war. What happens when you bring in the the. The the complete pragmatist who only goal is to win the war as quickly and as efficiently and as savagely as possible. And that's as a legacy. We've been living with for the last five years i was trying to think of like the equivalent of hansel. That if he's woody hayes saying like marc trestman. Bears brought him in from montreal. To be like all right. We're gonna do this and then people like this. I love this by outside the box until they didn't love it anymore I had no idea. The first napalm bomb was was set off on harvard's campus by the guy as the boston guy or a new england guy. napalm the weirdest. The weirdest part of reporting book was this whole thing. I thought that napalm was a vietnam. War invention It's not it's a. It was invented at harvard during the second world. War explicitly to be used against because japanese cities were made out of wood and the houses were really close together and there were very few parks and they tend to boxes and so the army was like wait a second. We don't we don't wanna use a conventional explosive against cities that are made of wood. That's use incendiary. You wanna burn down. You don't want to blow them up and they bring in. All the fire guys is a whole cadre of people who are experts in fire. And they say bill is the greatest incendiary bomb ever. Something that can burn anything down. And so a bunch of the brilliant. Harvard chemist Comes up with this idea of basically making a jellied form of gasoline that you put splits head of a canister you drop the canister you have. These globs of jelly ghastly now will explode and.

"Could be jim harbaugh. I billy looks more like jim harbaugh. Wow put it on the poll. Who looks more like jim harbaugh. Tony jim has started kind of looking more like me were before he started out looking kind of like john and i'd say that john now is probably at the top of the looks. Food chain in the harbaugh family. Right or jack jackson jack up there. Yeah yeah john. Harbaugh is more handsome than jim. But i do believe the jim has been impacted just generally by the losing. I believe that he was more handsome when he was with the san francisco. Forty niners. i don't mean he's actually. I don't mean his looks actually been something that have diminished. I just mean the fact that he's losing makes him less handsome. Less in control less sexy. I think you're right. Because he was he was definitely more handsome when he was coaching. The san francisco forty niners right was the khakis are lot more knowing. Now that he's losing right. I was just going to say when you're talking about looks and attractiveness like dude. That just wears a windbreaker khakis every day. That's negative points for you. In my opinion would you please put up on social media everywhere that you can. Everywhere in the universe. Just photos of billy with marc trestman just next to mark trestman because people are going right now. I think they're going to be just simply flabbergasted. By how that. I believe that what we should say is i believe you should go away again for another paternity leave for a while and return and we'll say you're fired but the show is hired mark trestman and that you should just return as our football expert. Instead of dookie sixth internationally among all football insiders. I think you should just return mark trestman because it is flabbergasting. How much you looked like sixty five year. Old marc trestman. Go away for a little bit in aid forty years. Do you think you could just come back. You don't have to age forty years. Just leave for time. Some people forget what you looked like and then come back as mark trestman in mentioning john harbaugh. Did you see that. Lamar jackson did you. See what lamar jackson is doing with his contract. No i did not see. Try to renegotiate it. He's representing himself. He's gonna also he's going to get one of these max deals and he's just going to use like an attorney or something i would assume and i think i read that. His mother was involved as well. And i think that the contracts in that sport at the highest end. I believe i have this right. I'd have to talk to somebody who knows more than i do about it. There are plenty of people who do. But i believe that once you get to a certain point in that sport you can compare it to other contracts and lamar jackson. What he's going to be wanting to do is be paid better than anyone at the position. And i'm i wonder why more more people don't think along these lines there. Because if you know. You're gonna get a max deal or something close to the max deal you're to be the highest paid at your position. One of the highest paid of your position. Why not just have an attorney handle that self and cut out the middleman and save yourself a lot of money. There's not a max deal in that sport right so this isn't like basketball. You can get more at any turn. But i'm going to assume that what lamar jackson is asking for. This is agents get man. I don't know if it's five or ten percent in that sport. I don't know how that work but as you can imagine those got five percent using an agent. Whatever it is that lamar jackson would get more than what he's gonna get by himself is just going to go to an agent anyway. You know what. I mean like that. That's five or ten percent or whatever it is that the number is in that sport. I don't know if it's three percent. I forgive my ignorance on this front. It would be easy enough to find but whatever that number is that an asian will get. You is what that agent is going to put in their pocket and it's going to be millions of dollars. Nfl agents are not permitted to receive more than three percent They can get ten to twenty percent of the athletes endorsement contract but on the contract itself. They cannot not get more than three percent. Mba agents not more than four percent so tens of millions of dollars. Yes hot not simply given where the quarterback contracts are though the reason. That one's interesting to me though. Stugatz is because he's such an unusual hybrid when we sit here and make all these arguments on behalf of weather levy on bell should paid as a running back or a wide receiver. That lamar jackson is not your traditional quarterback butts god's if garoppolo if stafford if whence when they sign their deals if they're getting to be highest paid at the history of the position one would assume that lamar jackson would then become the next guy to go right to the top no matter who's negotiating that contract correct if you're like an athlete though and you're negotiating with management over your contract one of the perks of having an agent and this is for anyone with an agent. Is that if you're unhappy or you don't like what they're putting on the table. You can scream at your agent. And then they'll go back to management and be like us business language and soften it a little bit. I feel like having that buffer is probably like cuts out a lot of the awkwardness. And the you know. Just the weirdness of talking directly to the ownership group but just in this case he knows what exactly should be on that contract like he knows he knows value. At this point someone has told them value. Like it's pretty easy in the nfl right like listen to what they're saying. Of course what's getting paid. Acts lamar knows. He's going to get at least this worth millions of dollars to you jessica. Because it's not it is worth to you to avoid the that. Your boss is telling you to your face. Y you're not worth what you think you're worth. Yeah i mean. I feel like a lot of people. Don't do well with confrontation like lamar jackson. Does he probably does he's frigging. Nfl quarterback like he's bear very smart man but also like these contracts are so complicated. Like i would want someone to just like cross the t's and dot for me and the lower case jays but i don't know like what do you think like there's just so many things that you could screw up if you're doing it all by yourself. I've always been a lawyer can handle all of that. I've always thought that a lawyer can handle every bit of that for you successfully at a fraction of the cost but an arm of the agents. Also you know and the nfl. I think you have to be a lawyer to be an nobody. What i'm saying is you can have a lawyer without paying your lawyer. Three percent of a contract. That's going to be hundreds of millions of dollars. You can pay a lawyer a very good lawyer. An hourly rate and save millions of dollars right..

"When you choose Phil Emery over Jason Light, who is now the general manager of Tampa. When you choose Marc Trestman over Bruce Arians, Bruce Arians is now hoisting the trophy. When you choose Mitch Travis Key over Patrick Mahomes. And to Shawn Watson, when you choose Ryan Pace over crisp if you don't stop soon, I'm gonna come out there to your house and slap you before I go home tonight. Do you see a pattern here, guys? Is there a pattern here? And the answer is, yes. So when the Bears now have another decision to make, and they're going to pick the right quarterback, why do you have any faith? They're going to get it right. And this is why it's important. This isn't to go back to 2013 and to say whether or not Bruce Syrians would have been good or not, And he would have been good cause he would've coach Cutler hard. And by the way, was bringing Todd Bulls with him. Marc Trustman, I remind you brought Mel Tucker with him. Who sucked Okay, But the point is here is this is why I yelled from the mountaintops during the season already around Now, go ahead. This is why I yelled from the mountaintops that It starts at the top. You have on systemic issue there where they consistently make the wrong decision. And until they get the right people in charge, we will continually choose the wrong guy. Whether it's the quarterback, whether it's the coach, whether it's the general manager. That's why William, you should care. That's why Nick It's not about whether areas has Brady or not. This is about the failures of this particular organization. And why the Bears are faulty at the ownership and president level and until they change the way they run business, you will continue to see them choose the wrong guy, including the quarterback this year, Twitter lit your wick. "It's good if you're going to be calling calling plays. I don't think so. Little big, So I've seen nothing that resembles what Kansas City does. Was Chicago was doing formation wise skill. What? Nothing. Why would I want to go there from the sun? So what? I'm trying to win and not lose is what Mitch Strabinsky doesn't do. Is it fixable? He's got a good He's got a grotesque inability to get to his receiver in his progression at the time that he needs to be there. You know how many you know how many growth has quarterbacks have had to go through that in the National Football League? Many meaning meaning many, many, But when you have competent people that really know what they're doing. From offense of play calling standpoint. You know, Here's what I would do. You wanna know somebody that one hires an office coordinator? I'd go. Hi. I'd go higher. Todd Haley, you know, we don't know how it's been here. Todd Haley. He's washed out of the league A couple of times. Todd Haley? No, no, no, no, no. I hired him to call places an offense, Courtney. I'd hire him as my office coordinator. He wasn't sure Officer coordinator. He was your receiver called. That's true. And he was a receiver coach with Marty Booker was bawling in Robinson. What the other Mark Mark Mark Robinson $1400. And Marcus Robinson and Marty Booker will ball it. He was a receiver coach. His office to play called into being around his burgers to another level. Then, when you got fired, he went over to try to get them to understand philosophy that worked in Cleveland. They don't want to hear. When he was in Arizona, he revitalized Kurt Warner's career. They went to the Super Bowl. Alone. Tell me he's been washed. I lied. That's it took Matt Cassel to the playoffs. Don't get caught up in the narrative. I'm telling you, I'm telling you, I'm telling you, he's a guy that I would take a look at what happens in the lead. His coaches get afraid to hire guys like that. Because that guy gets the credit and all of a sudden people start playing where he shouldn't have. All right. So they worry about those sort of things. I'm just telling you, man, take take my word for what it's worth. You don't have to believe me. I just I've seen it done. I know about the spirit. Want to kill? Try to him. My God, I thought he did. Doesn't matter. You're saying you can coach and in cool place. He got the best out of you. There's a matter with being welcomed, Berger says. You don't want to kill him. I didn't like I was, it doesn't matter. Your offense. You haven't been the same since to do left. You just fired. They just find it also is equipping the other day. That's true. That's all I'm saying. You know what I told? You know what? I really I totally agree with something You said earlier, though, Keyshawn when you said that When you watch Kansas City, and then you watch the Bears like these offenses should not that I expect the bears to be exactly like Kansas City because Kansas City's got Mahomes, But these are the same systems. These air guys off of Andy Reid's tree like Why don't the bears ever resemble in pre snap motion or formation or in personnel packages or an explosiveness like why doesn't it ever look like Kansas City's? I've thought the same thing that's interesting. And But then I wonder. Is it because of the quarterback or or the weapons? Not being the same or how much of that is on the car? I just said to you Eric, the enemy is calling the plane, right? Yeah, he's designing the place. So, but my question is, does it it does that have anything to do with the lack of quality? Like a lack of quality? Credible? I could call the same play with what's his face? Uh, Back of chat him get any. I could call the same play with Chad. He may not look the same. Didn't we? Don't presume I got lipstick, All right, but I could call the same place, okay? Design it the same way. Yeah, I'm going. I'm gone from Toe. Another system to another system are very good team with the train system. I've played in New York and then in Dallas and then in Carolina with the same system, Bill Parcells system, Dan any system, we get the same thing. Looked exactly the same with different personnel. That is frustrating about the Bears. I do agree with you on that. Like what If Maggie is this genius? Why, and maybe Travis Keys? Not perfect, and you never will be close to perfect. But why is he not been able to squeeze more more productivity out of this offense? If he's such an offensive wizard? That's a fair criticism, and we've all wanted. That's all I'm saying is very serious. You supposed to be able to dial up something? You're supposed to be innovative. That makes sense. You're supposed to be able to identify Mr Biscuit. In fact, you know what? Here's this strength. Here's his weaknesses. Let's go with the strength and get rid of his weaknesses. And we're gonna do this. We're gonna do it really, really well. No. I think we need to head to Riverview High School in Sarasota. Florida is ever tighter. That's for tides. And they're going to let you get on. I'm not. Look, I'm just no, no, no. Listen, that wicked guy drive higher. Yeah, I'm just pointing out. Have success in his league calling play. I'm not telling you somebody who had a Uh, somewhat smoking mirror success like Marc Trestman. I'm not telling you that got smoke and mirrors. Oh, Marc Trestman was really a great offense of intervention to stop man had do have Steve Young. Stop it. So when you I'm talking about somebody that really knows their stuff. You don't get up. Don't be afraid of what? Somebody is telling you he is Let's just me, But what do I know? I know. I mean, that's all right. Listen, we heard Todd Haley you but you had mentioned tied Hayley before we're looking to the morning show. We heard you mentioned tied. Haley and me and Carmen. We're scratching our heads here. You're here.

So don't miss the big pre game festivities that the station's gonna have it. What? Aunt Sylvie this coming Sunday from 3 to 5 on Twitch Channel. There are I mean, we've had some new head coaches in the NFL. Drop us some doozies. Remember when Dan Campbell got the job? You know, Thank you was a former player, You know he's easier. Like he got game face on right? Like he was game day ready when he was meeting the media in Detroit, and he dropped this one on us that we still don't know. Not totally sure, I know. But okay, so this team's gonna be built on We're gonna kick in the teeth, all right, And when you punch is back, we're gonna smile at you. And when you knock us down We're going to get up and on the way up. We're gonna buy the kneecap off, all right, And we're gonna stand up and then it's going to take two more shots to knock us down. All right. And on the way up, we're gonna take your other kneecap and we're gonna get up and they're just gonna take three shots to get us down. And when we do, we're gonna take another hunk out of you before. Before long. We're going to be the last one standing. All right, That's gonna be the mentality of cannibalism. Nick Syriani, who has had an incredible rise here in recent years is with Frank Reich, also coming from Ah, coach that is very well established her Syriani, UNIX, Syriana, who's the new coach and Philadelphia with the Eagles. And then listen to this. That kind of offense. I think this is specifically about the offense, right? They're gonna be this was Friday. Next thing that's very important to me is that we build a smart football team that we have a smart football team here and I know we have the people in place to do that. The first part of that the first part of being smart is knowing what to do. We're gonna We're gonna know we're gonna have systems in place that Are easier to learn. Write complicated to the defense or offense that they're going against the special teams group. They're going as but easy for us to learn, because when we can put that because we when we can learn our system and we can get good at our system, then our talent can take over less thinking equals talent take over, But we need to have systems in place and we will have systems in place to do so. And boom goes the dynamite. I just said less is more. That's what I believe It's going to be a very easy way to learn. We want to be an intelligent football. T s. What didn't Marc Trestman once they were gonna be? No. Is that a traitor was Trestman, right? We're gonna be selfish and undisciplined. Yes. You've got all kinds of doozies with coaches over the years on This'll guy had verbally was what Adam Gates. His gaze was the other day. We're gonna have a team that's selfish and undisciplined. There you go Bad from the word go well, he was right. I don't think he meant to say, unselfish and discipline and reversed. I would hope I'm sure that that's what he meant. But he was being ized. He had a selfish and I'm disciplined in and that's exactly what they were. And he loved playing with his toys. She did like, You know how happy he'd be in here with these bobbleheads And the best part? Yes. Look, pieces. We bobbleheads. We don't I don't want to talk to you. Let me go back in the back to the room and I'll say something. You know, I don't know how many people watched golf over the weekend. But look beautiful on San Diego didn't know where they are. Pirates weren't saying what it look gorgeous score. Just read one. But controversy kind of follows him around. First of all, there's the You know that the fact that nobody seems to really like him on the tour and doesn't like anybody else. He kind of Ah, you know, it marches to the beat of his own drum. He's just he's alone right guests. But there was some controversy on Saturday. A major controversy. Yeah, a lot of people in golf, ripping him. But the rules, officials and the PGA Tour seem to say no, he didn't really violate any rules. They do that because they don't want to look silly Or did they believe you didn't really violate a rule? It all had to do it like an invented ball. He didn't see it bounced and volunteer said to him when he asked, she said, I don't think it bounced. So then he started messing with the ball. He picked it up in a rules official came over and said, Oh, yeah, it's embedded and you get relief. But everybody's killing for Rory McIlroy did the same thing like an hour later, I guess, But what was his technique? Did he mark his ball originally? Your balls embedded. For me. You gotta market. The first thing was you. You put a tea down next to it. Then you call for rule official for the rule officially grab the ball to find out. If it's a better not what did match, would you? He never been called a rules official over. He just did it on his own, eventually called somebody over and they came over on a card. Then he felt the lip not where the ball wasps don't know. He's talking about batch agree, she said. Rory never even called it. But nobody calls Rory out. It's because nobody likes Patrick Reid I from what I wasn't in the late past wasn't so the camera was on him. When I see what I see on Twitter from former golfers and like Brando, Chamblee and The biggest issue. I think they had a nice Brandel, shambling with dinner last night didn't affect Harry 1969 Brandel shambles their biggest. Their biggest issue is that he grabbed the ball Muslim also put it in his hand. And that was that's bad because he was had included him in cleaning it like that. Yeah, I could see that, I guess. You know, you know you could be wiping some settlement dirt off of it. Well, it's a sly move by Patrick read if I was just watching how sudden, former golfer say PGA Golfers say that he didn't think you cheated, but he but he did say it was bad that he he grabbed the ball like that. Okay. Green is coming up next waddling Sylvia to Black and Abdullah at six. Everybody have a great day. Thank you to our great producers. Midway, Jeff Melon, Randy Mark and Jeff Strauss. And thanks for listening, calling a participating today and we will see tomorrow. Drug readings show. Have a great day, Everybody for your cum Carmen..

"Profound difference. It is throwing motion. I didn't do anything. He just likes getting better. I'll tell you, though, this cease need right there gets him. That's what Holmes did in the first half. Jim, I don't know. I didn't want to tell a story. Alright, Cool. You were at the verse Aci Mansion. Apparently, it was a fantastic story that was shared when you met with Josh Ellen previously before the NFC championship game. Tony Romo, too cool to share it because he's such a great broadcaster made my good. Maybe he's guessing all the time because he can't tell a story. It's incredible. All right. What do you got for? This is my bad then I couldn't believe when I turned on Saturday's game knowing I knew that the Bulls were were on back to back and I knew that it was going to be tough. And I knew that they had some injuries. But when I saw that Felicio on the floor if it wasn't bad enough that the Bulls were down. What did you early? Felicio Extra? Yeah, Felicia, I did not mince words. There did not say that. I am talking about the $32 Million man that John Paxson. I believe the Felicio contract is probably the worst contract. In Chicago sports. It's not even close to being the highest paid but to give him 32 million, and the return on that is absolutely insane. It's his last year. And if it wasn't bad enough that the Bulls were down, 30, I'd watch Felicio play. That was my bad Saturday night Bull's action with police CEO on the floor I C I would watch like the Bulls T V. One day with Cristiano Felicio episode I'd watch like how he gets up in the morning how he makes his gold plated coffee. That's cool. I don't want him on the basketball, how he drives the practice and what I'm sure is a very expensive car. The places he eats out at night on this stuff, expensive things. I've seen him like out in the wild. Yes, very expensive. I wanna watch I said, really gets you as you get this, really, you know, look of concern on his face and decides which Rolex to put on to go to the morning shoot around when he will not be shooting around with pain Crabbers. Do they want their money after they steal it? The pink Cadillac that he buys the back. I don't know. It's not the gar packs. I can't believe that car PACs gave him that money him. What's your What's your bad? This is is a tweet that I saw for Mark Potter. Who I love marks. Not the bad here. It's just nice to see Tracy. I love pats. You love his kind of crazy. He tweets this and then we could be done with this. I just I will say it now And then, for the next two weeks we don't think about it. We just let this kind of fester in our hearts. Usual party writes in 2012. The Bears hired Phil Emery over Jason Licht, who is now the Bucks. GM. In 2013. The Bears hired Marc Trestman over Bruce Arians, now the buck's head coach. It's great in 2017, the Bears drafting Notre Boesky over Patrick Holmes, now the chief's quarterback. The theme I don't know if you miss this Rover wouldn't land on the bread crumbs Well enough for you. The theme is that all of those people who aren't here with the Bears Are in the Super Bowl and the people that the Bears hired aren't playing for the bears anymore. That's the theme. It's unbelievable. But yet the people who have made those decisions to hire those people and not hire the other people are still making the bears decisions. You know, I I should fact check that. I think you're right, though. What do you guys got for your bad? My bad? Let's let's rewind to a great question and answer from a press conference this weekend with Coach K. I could I'm just curious as to what the next step forward here is for the team as you guys move into another week about your book. Why don't we just evaluate this game? I'm not into What our next step forward is right now. We just finished the hard fought game. I don't know if I like What? What? What? What's your major? What's your major at Duke? What's your hardest? Quiet, son? Okay, so say you just Had the toughest Yukon test in the world, and when you walked out, somebody asked you What's your next step? You said. I mean is that you have some empathy and Yeah. Just give us time to evaluate this game, and then we'll figure out just like we always try to do. That's literally how school works. That's literally school. You go in. You take a test. You finish the test. And you just don't know, learning the next thing where you go to your next. Finally right hammered that. That is school this or he's the worst. I know. He apologized. But what cringeworthy and it's awful. I don't think he's the worst. But Jesus Clark. He's a classic bully. I mean, I got I've got a story for you with him as well. I'm Coach K and you still be. My bad is also coach K because that was just stupid. He apologized, though he did apology supposedly had called the kid and apologized after the social media backlash. So we figured that he probably had a way about making the apology all about himself. Yes, cocaine, and this is Look, I'm sorry, and I'll tell you. Why did you do in school? Young boy? The lesson, young boy. What did you do in school? He actually he doesn't get paid to coach Duke Do I thought he was going to say, Say, your major bitch. Ls your major your name? Tallis? I mean, it was great was so cringe word names. I want student ideas. You will never be in the K. Say my name. I will get to our dirties. I've got it. I've got to share a I've been the subject to the coach K. Scolding way back in the day that's coming up. Next, you're Listeningto Waddle in Sylvia on ESPN 1000, Chicago's home for Sports. Captain Jay.

"You decide to coach And that spot Now you decide to coach Rogers has been carrying your ass the entire time and aggressive team, a team that has played well. And in that scenario, you don't trust your own. Roger do that. At the end of something you took the moment away. You did as a as a head coach. Deciding that we're going to do is we're gonna go and kick it, so we'll have four time outs, plus the two minute roll morning. That's what they were thinking it. But if you wanted to do that, You know, you think about it your own? Well, we got four time. Why would you not put the ball in the league MVPs hands And even if you don't get it done They're at their own eight yard line. Tom's already thrown three picks that you could say Well, that one was upon he got whatever the case may be, They're not going to take a ton of chances. You might have had a better chance. That way. I thought it was one of the most gutless decisions I've watched the coach make, and if that was our coach, we would be destroying him this morning. I just think that from Rob, but again, it's more than met the floor this morning. It is the Green Bay Packers as a team. It's a It's about metal floor. It's about the lack of quality production from the Packers to here's what I mean. Yeah, everything is looking at metal floor. How come you didn't come? You didn't let Rogers go for it. You know, Brady is just mentioned at three interceptions. Correct three interceptions. Second half they Green Bay Packers able give six point from that. That's when you look at the team and say Here's the goat opening the door for you. And you only got six point from those 33 interceptions. Three turnovers, You know, rare that is for Tom Brady. He gets that He gets three interceptions, maybe in six or seven games. Not all in one game of the second half. The door was ajar and the Packers and go through it. I also blame Aaron for the interception at the end of the half. That led to and I'm fourth down. Brady's on the bench. They're punting. And Bruce Arians looked around. And what Get back here. Let's go for this. And Bruce Arians. I was listening to his post. I'm a big fan of that guy. How the hell we hired my Marc Trustman over. That guy still boggles the mind. Think it two decisions The Bears have make Mitchell Travis Key over Watson in the homes. Marc Trestman over Bruce Arians. Oh, and throw in Phil Emery over Jason Light. Who's the guy that put this all together down in Tampa? But I digress. So, Bruce Arian said. I knew before the snap of the ball. I knew the play call we sent in I said that's a touchdown. Absolutely. They're in man. That's a touchdown. They're not going to be able to stay with our receiver Scotty Miller. I believe it was He said. There's no way he's going to stay with him. All time has to do is make the throw and all Scotty has to do is catch the football and both happened. Unbelievable, gutsy movement. Well, it is one thing for the package to lose, but it's also one thing for the Packers to beat themselves here. Is Brady going forward as you mentioned the Fort down your 20 years, 21 to 10 of that Miller touchdown. But then you flip and say, Okay, you're in a bad spot. But Aaron Jones fumbles that the most unbelievable time. You don't expect Aaron Jones the fumble again that the doors open for you, and you won't go through it. And just just watching the Evan floor of this game. I just think that if your metal floor you've got to have as much faith in Rogers as you do your defense, that's the reason why they they settled for the field goal. It shocked everybody. Because what's more valuable, trying to get points in that spot or your time outs and the two minute warning right? What's more valuable there? You gotta go for the touchdown there. The three points? No. Ah, And I thought you said there was 4 47 left. Three time outs in the two men or okay, I get it. Take the points because you still need to touch down and the two Two minutes and whatever it was 12 seconds, 14 seconds. Are you kidding? That's not little Travis Key back there trying to throw to. You know whoever got that's freaking Aaron Rodgers, but Aaron also panicked on third down. When he could have run with the football. He tried to force it into Devante. Adam. He was jungle covered. It was wide open from green bait. Appleton. How come he did not run it in on the right side. It was wide open. If nothing else you're getting to the one or two, but you got a chance to punch it in. Either way. You're closer and yesterday in the other game, how many times do we see Josh Allen pulling Mitchell Travis key and run out of bounds. One they got reviewed and his foot was hadn't hit the ground yet, but twice. He ran out of bounds rather than throw the ball away. I always wondered about their aggressiveness two toward the end of the first half, just like I've been watching these teams all season. But here's the thing that we got A look at the banner of the show today. Pressure burst pipes. Right. Biggest scenario. Biggest spotlight The things you've done the regular season things you've got the did all way up to this all of a sudden, it just changes. People get tight. They don't just get tight on those spots, cap. I mean, we all know what should have happened. But I blame the Packers as a team as much I blame that floor once did always says all time often wasn't for that one planned for Don. If we work, it's a whole bunch of scenarios there where the Packers allowed the Buccaneers to breathe. When the go throws three interceptions, you get six point from that. That's not good. Todd Bowles MVPs today. The D coordinator Tampa Boy. You're exactly right. Three picks. They get six points that defense five sacks here is Matt Leflore explaining the decision to go for the field goal. Yeah, anytime. It doesn't work out. You always regret it right? But It was just the circumstances of having three shots and Coming away with no yards. And knowing that you not only need the touchdown, but you need the two point so Well, I was looking at it was essentially had four time outs with the two minute warning. And You know when we knew we needed to get a stop, and I thought we were gonna have a stop there at the end, But you know, we got cold for the peat P I Um And then It didn't work out, so I think any time something doesn't work out Do you regret it?.

"Going on today. Not only if we previewed both football games on Sunday, not only that we continue to feed the beast and the dish on Watson front. But the Bears now have a new defensive coordinator. So they're adding or at least keeping instead of subtracting. There's been lots of subtraction going on and household. They've lost a couple of offensive assistance. They've lost. J. Rodgers, Sean decide. Has been named the Bear's new defensive coordinator. He was hired back by Marc Trestman in 2013. He stood the test of time He's worked his way up the way they did. Ron Rivera got started as a quality control. It's absolutely and and and to do it for six years in the same organization and now get the defensive coordinator's job. That's AH, It's a really good story. So let's bring in JD right now. Who joins us on the Corona Hotline? J. D Did this move surprise you today? Not really. I mean, I think at this stage, guys, it's great to talk to both of you. I miss you both immensely. Um, you know, at this stage given sort of where things stand. With, you know. Matt, Baggy and Ryan taste and the importance placed on, you know, having a really bounced back. Really good season coming up. You probably weren't gonna lure someone who was in a really good position. Come to Chicago. That's not really how it works on you notice when people like, for example, a J. Rodgers leaves You know whenever a new coaching staff is hired That always gives assistant coaches a cent. Greater security Now it doesn't always work that way we've seen coaches hired inquired. In a year. You know, we've seen it only last two years with Trustman when he was here. But normally speaking, a healthy franchise will hydrate head coach that will be there for at least three years. And that gives those assistance eight extra sense of job security. So I think what they've done by promoting Shaun decides you. You've brought someone along that worked their way up and let me tell you something Quality control. Is not a glamorous position. Those coaches worked so hard. It also exposes them, though. Do a lot of different position groups. I mean, if you're a, you know, Defensive quality control coach your Lord you're working and helping with everybody with defensive line linebackers. Secondary, You know, same thing if you're an offensive quality control coach, So to do that job as faithfully and as well as Sean decided it for that many years and then to get promoted. Was safeties coach. I think there's nothing wrong from promoting from within. I just think everyone has to understand that you know the situation The bears find themselves in right now. It was always a higher likelihood. That the person getting the job would be someone currently on the staff as opposed to bring in someone from the outside. You could've brought someone in from the outside, but likely that person right now would not be employed by another team J. D. Would it be your speculation that the defense will look more like it did in 2000 and 18 not in terms of accomplishment, but how they play defense with little more aggression? And what we've seen in recent years. Well, I think my assumption is There needs to be a better roster analysis. What you have out there and then you coordinate your defense based on the pieces that you have. And my guess is that's probably what's going to happen here. Yeah, I think we would all agree that I mean the defense looked a hell of a lot better after Victor Angio that did under Chuck Pagano. But remember Fangio had players that were planning a lot better for him. Sure, Um, you know, Khalil Mack in 2018 was a world record now again, You know he had the shoulder injury and the numbers weren't terrible this year, but he wasn't the same type of player. And that's just That's just one example. Right there. Eddie Jackson had how many defensive touchdowns guys for the Bears and Fangio's last year, so I mean, a coach will only look as good a coordinator As his players make make him look, so I think you'll have to be honest and say, Here's where it stands with these players. This is what Khalil Mack has left for us. This is what we think we can do to get the most out of Robert Quinn. This is where we are with our defensive line. And then you scheme off of that. My guess is that's what's going to take quite J. D. I want to get your opinion on what Louis? Riddick told Greenie yesterday regarding Matt Nagy loving to Shawn Watson. I mean, who wouldn't love him these days? And then he said, guaranteed three times that Maggie is trying to figure out how to get in the mix. To get to Shawn Watson. How much is too much If you get involved in the dish on Watson sweep sex. I don't think there's really too much. I mean, I completely agree with Lewis and Lewis. The Nagy are incredibly close. And I mean, if you have an opening a quarterback right now. You are desperately trying to find a way to land to Shawn Watson. I think Soviet. Oh, the problem is, you know if Houston were to deal him, I think you would want some immediate relief in some immediate satisfaction, And that's where I feel guys. The Bears were the disadvantage because There are multiple teams drafting high this year that have multiple first round pick. I mean, really, what is if your Houston What is the 20th pick gonna mean to you this year and then going forward. You don't really know where the Bears would be drafting. What if they happen to have a bounce back here that they get the show on watch, then you know you never know it. Certainly more probable than it would be if they don't get him Now you want the 25th pick next year, the 26th pick next year. I think the Bears have every incentive to do whatever they can to get the mix, and I'm sure they will do everything possible. But I just don't see the asset. I don't see them offering Houston the most attractive deal and think about this, too. For as I mean, ridiculous as the sections are. And they are just I mean, Absolutely just a bunch of you know, what can I say about him? Um, they know that if they were to trade a young franchise quarterback It would have to get so much in return that would help their team not just in the future, but also this season to put something competitive on the field for a fan base that's clearly agitated. So I think Louis is spot on. I think the bears would love to get in. I just I just don't think they would really have what the Texans are looking for. To make that happen to play this out a little bit further, so say, and I grew the I don't think they have enough Capital T offer, Houston In your opinion, then J d when when they line up We're going into next season. What do you believe Their approach is going to be at the quarterback position? I think it's very fluid time. I think they're gonna investigate everything. I think they're looking at everybody. I think they're looking at any situation where a quarterback might be able to get pried loose from They are certainly looking at these quarterbacks in the draft incredibly thoroughly here, I would say right now..

"Get the know that Get out of my store. Get all my store kid. I don't want to sell that to you, Nick and Gurney here on ESPN. 1000. Hey, guys. How we doing Some Nick Nick, You got three words on the bears, huh? How do they make you feel? Well, I think I tweeted at you progress and I'm collaboration. But the more I think about it, the more I want to go with the Marc Trestman of selfish and on discipline because that's just what I feel like today, Woz. Um, And like the last couple of years, how many times have we heard Matt now? You said we need to figure out the wise The last two years. We need to figure out the wise. Why's that? Why's this doesn't work. And then all of a sudden, after the same game he and taste they finally figured out the wise. At least they were good enough for George and Ted. No, You're right. And thanks for the call, Nick. We appreciate you're right. It's always we know something's wrong. We've got to find the answer. See if you're always searching for the answer. You can tell your bosses that Yeah, we're on it. We're on it. We know we suck. We're finding we're searching together for an answer wearing come together. We're gonna find this right? But that's not what this is. It's about winning football games. That's what we care about. It's like I don't care about the communication communication. Be crap. If you go, 12, and for every year that's fine with me. I don't I don't have a problem with that. Gino in Elmwood Park here on ESPN, 1000 Gino. Thanks for taking my conduct. Good evening. Good evening. So my my three words are a clown show. All right. I agree with you. So here. Here's the thing. Apparently, George McCaskey raises his emails from from fans. And I'm getting more than one stand, including myself, maybe is emailed him over the years to say. Maybe you should keep Ted Phillips off of these conference calls, I think is bears fans. The only thing we can look forward to in January is the stupid press conference is that they do and how crazy it makes us feel when they're over. But my sense of it is why on earth who thought it was a good idea to let 10 Phillips participated all what did he have to add? Today? I just I don't get it. And how dumb do you have to be a thing If everybody knows that the flash point is Ted Phillips Why do you put the poor son of a gun out there to sweat his bag off Toc sit out in front and answer the not answered these questions like an idiot. Come on, George, read your damn emails. People don't want to hear from Ted put Ted in the corner like they did with Crane. Kenney and the Cubs and move on. You know, today was just ridiculous and a lot of different ways. At the end of the day, you know, Look, Matt, Maggie and Brian Pace. I don't trust him to pick a quarterback, but that's not the worst thing that happened today. The worst thing that happened today was Ted Phillips even participated in these still in the room. So that's my feeling. Thank you for the phone call. You know, I wouldn't have a problem with him participating if he contributed something. To me. I'm not going to steal your line because you're lying from earlier today about his little headset was fantastic. But you know his day Trader headset and his disgruntlement on the call like If he had Legitimate things to contribute. Yeah, be there like I don't feel like Gino like he can't. He can't participate. He's the CEO of the team. But like he clearly adds nothing to what's going on and You know, George, pointing out that he's a football game I got. I got my football guys. It's Ryan and Matt. Nothing is more bears and Ted Phillips than him wearing the headset like a day trader rate of mess up your 401 K. It's like a scene out of like, we'll tell you. What is the headset for? I don't know, in office by yourself. I himself with a beautiful bookcase behind them with bears, football helmets and class and looks great. You can't just be on the mic. Can't be on the computer. Mike, you got the headset and it all works Fine for you know, Pace is wearing a headset. I messed up the hair. I throw, uh, some positive vibes towards George McCaskey. He looked good. And he seemed like he was working that zoom pretty well. Give him credit. He sounded fine. Yeah, some of them. I didn't like what was coming out of his mouth. Yeah, I mean, I didn't like the answers, but like he looked well put together. Give him credit for that good job. Johnny knew Lennox. You're on ESPN 1000 trying to give him a positive one possible leather jacket. John. What's good? What's up? You hear me? Yeah, we got yourself. Okay, so You don't want this team reminds me of reminds me of that 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars team Except that team backs we had more playoff success. And they blew the thing off quicker than this team is being blown up. So Does that mean that that team is like that organization has run better than ours at this point? Or because I don't understand. What is the difference between that team and this team? I don't see any difference at all. If you guys don't remember that team had a historic defense. I think it was one of the best in NFL history. So I just don't understand the difference between this team in that team. I got the different John. There's an owner who wants to win and spend money, and I think that's what you have in Jacksonville. No, no. The owner saw the way the team was being ran and said, We need to change all of this. All this needs to go. That? Yeah, that's not smart owner That's a smart owner. Because It's just crazy. Like the similarities to that team to this team. I mean, And Ryan pace. He said in the press conference that he feels everything he's done. It's good for the franchise. How is given Robert Quinn five years 70 million, like I didn't want Leonard for it here, but I didn't want us to go out and give out a contract like that Aging. You know, aging pass rusher. How is not getting out of Robinson was probably the best player on the team at this point, a long term extension. I don't I don't understand that I don't I think, And here's another thing If I have a hard time believing third, like 30 out of 32 NFL franchises are bringing pace and Maggie back after What they've seen with the quarterback what they've seen with the contract. I mean, yet he's had some good draft. Ryan Pace has done some good things. I'll give him that with renovations and Scouting department. But overall on the personnel, I don't know how you defend just everything that he's done. You know, I'm with you, Joe. I appreciate the phone call will in Virginia on the ESPN Chicago app. Will. You're on ESPN 1000 Blue line. Black dollar you What's up? You ready for hockey? You ready to go? Yeah, Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Just curious. I know you guys along the babies right now. But the brains of positivity to the airways, Uh, what do you guys starts in the heart? You guys excited? Christmas. But I'm excited to be. Chris made a good point when the covert list came out tapes was not on it, and that's kind of concerning. Yeah, I'm worried about incentives. It's true we got Patrick Kane. No. So you know how secure the black movement No. Corey Crawford this season? I don't know. They're you know, they're being countered. It's a rebuilding season. You know, don't expect much. I'm I'm excited to watch games. I'm excited. Too much cold stare hot steel on cold ice. But I put the game on much to the chagrin of others. While we were watching NBA basketball game hasn't started. You want to watch the lightning in their championship celebration here? Someone's getting that's a banner raising, okay? Well, what do you think about the Hawks? How do you think they're gonna fare this season? It's probably not ideal, but we talking back. I guess it's all I've you know, I mean, this season at least two seasons back. They might not be great, but she's got good players and cane and the brink it and, you know What happens, I guess. What about the bears? What an embarrassment on the bears. Terrible, right? Just not cool. Yeah. Yeah, I know. He called the talk hawks, but I'm just trying to get back on topic here. No. Yeah, yeah. You have for sure. No. Yeah, just real fast. I mean, Listening to everything, all the all the callers, all the same sentiment from the front office. It's like it just reminds me of the bulls all over again with that Is Kuo bringing him back and confident management and it's like, okay, we're gonna do this again next year, right? Absolutely. Thank you for the call. Well, we appreciate it. Thanks, guys. That's will in Virginia, Eric and Glenview. You're on ESPN 1000. What's up? Eric? Chris was one of them. Adam, what's going on? "All right. The fantastic Four have spoken. George. Ted Ryan. Matt. I thought you were talking about me. And you and Adam and Chris. No. I am not talking about that. Can I offer an apology? First? I like these. You know what you need to apologize for, but right ahead. These are the moments where my heart Like jumps out of my body when I need to get something out there, and no one loves to apologize, right, saying you always used to make fun of me by saying What would the find say that I'm sorry? Never could be said No. He just would always stumble. He couldn't say he was wrong wrong Or he was ever sorry. That's why I called my wife. The funds. That's a look. I want to be accountable and I I need to start by apologizing to you. I need to apologize to Black and Abdullah. I need to apologize to the Chicago sports fan. For the last 3 to 4 months I've been on these airwaves talking about the bears and how it starts at the top and 90 99. I've mentioned George McCaskey. And every time someone would call about George McCaskey, I would always tell you the George wants to win. He just may not know how, and that this is bothering George and the changes would happen. And George isn't going to sit by and let this happen. And whenever you called in and and or tweeted me, and you said, this is just business barking Greco, I want to apologize to you too, because two days ago I got into it with you when you said they're just gonna not do anything because a cove it and this is the bear's way they go. No, This isn't the pears way Georges Different. George fired, fired a guy's 10 years ago. Remember what he did with Jerry Angelo. Remember what he did with Phil Emery? Remember what he did with Marc Trestman on and on and on, and George's different. George is different than business as usual. And I would like to say I'm sorry today because I was dead wrong. Because George McCaskey doesn't want to win. Because George McCaskey doesn't care about you, the Bears fan that it is business as usual for the Bears up at Halas Hall that today's actions Speak louder than anything you can ever say. You can, whether you want to release a statement, whether you want to talk for 45 minutes at a press conference what you did today at Halas Hall. Has ruined everything I've said about you for the last two years, George. I thought you were different Bears fans. I am sorry I misled you. And it's somebody who loves the bears and someone who grew up here and somebody who wants this team to do well. Stuck my foot in the mouth for the last six months because I told you that George cares and he had an opportunity today to prove it. And all he did today was enabled Ted Phillips and he enabled the losing culture going on in house all so for that, everybody. I'm sorry. Apology accepted like I don't know that I agree. 100%. I still think George wants to win. I think George has used bad judgment in terms of how to go about winning. Because what he told you today was this is the best path. I think he wants to win. I think he wants truly still think he wants to win. I just just disagree with what he feels is the best path to get to that winning environment. I mean, I don't know. How could how could you keep the same team president and enable him By having him up there in the spotlight and a guy who's been here through it all the 35 year Super Bowl drought, the 10 Year playoff win drought, the six game losing streak and involved him up even more. And have them sort of wagons. Whatever I'm with you, I will. How could you do that and say you want to win that George wants to win and do that? Well, I think he feels that this is the best way to get to To become a winning organization, and I just disagree with it. Like what is the benefit for doing this? But money is inconsequential when you're entity is worth. I mean, it's not totally inconsequential. Don't get me wrong, but I'm saying when When your ass it is worth a couple of billion dollars. How much does it really cost to blow out your general manager and your coach and the staff and everything? It's nothing. So this to me? Is that it again? That's just my own opinion. This isn't about money. This isn't about complacency. Don't you think George knows he's going to make money over the course of time? Yes Cove. It has caused an interruption in the revenue cycle for all professional sports. It's caused an interruption in the revenue cycle for most people in Around the world, especially here in the United States, or that's what we're most focused on. Um He knows 18 months from now, his entities still going to be worth well over $2 billion and growing. So this to me is never been about money because the money will always be there. So Then what is the benefit to do doing it This way? You don't make change, so it doesn't cost any more. But money is really not an issue because you're going to make a ton of money anyway. I truly believe he feels This is their best path to victory. I told you this yesterday and nobody with the right mind could could do could drink that water. Okay? They were asleep like they stood up there today and I want to play you some cuts. They stood up there today, and they vaulted up their six game losing streak. They used it as an asset. They said. Hey, look at us. We lost six games in a row, but we did not quit. Ted Phillips even said We what? We won three out of her last four. They vaulted up a six game losing streak. Can you name The other teams in the league who lost six games in a row that no, I can't listen. Every here you're saying is is accurate. Well, here they are. Here they are. The Jets and the Jaguars. That's it. The three teams in the NFL this year who lost six games in a row are the Jets, the Jaguars and the Bears. And you used It is a positive today by saying, Look at us. Look at how we responded. You are amongst the two worst teams in this league. And you're doing business by saying I think these guys we can win with that to me is putting your money where your mouth is, by showing us with your actions that you don't care about winning. Yeah, I call it incompetence. I call it poor management. I don't think that the desire to win is has escaped. So I mean, maybe this is a semantical argument. But I agree with all of the other assessment. You're making him just not completely connecting those dots. Listen to me. This was you're not gonna win this press conference because what you did was you step to the microphone to tell everyone in this town that everyone was back. You immediately lose that press conference with the masses because the vast majority of people in this town I love this team wanted some sort of change..

"What did you see The Colts game E Did they lost to all of Andy Reid's guys have been losing lately. That's a story for another day, Matt. But when it comes to You telling us that you could you could develop Mitch. It's obviously not the case, and I believe this is an untenable situation going forward. Were you two can't work with each other. But then we brought in a guy who you did feel you can work with, and you hired all of your friends to be coaches, and that hasn't worked. So where we going in the quarterback position. Yeah, This is where this role gets really hard because I know I was brought in here to to revolutionize an offense that has been really at best middling. When the Times are good and has really been behind when times are bad, like there's never been a defiant defining moment offensively in the Chicago Bears a stretch Maybe there was a quick burst there with with Marc Trestman. There was a quick burst there when, when their Kramer and Jeff Graham and Curtis Conway, we're doing stuff. You brought me here to revolutionize this offense and get us up to speed into the 2020. You know, arms race that is the National Football League and we were 29th in yards per game and points per game in 2000 and 19, and we only made modest improvement. Over a small stretch of time against in fear. Defense is so like, Look, you know what? I'm gonna pack my crap up and I'm going on. I'm gonna go. I know where this is heading, and you're waving the white flag. I mean it. Zeke, listen, the tough questions, right? If you own this team that you would be asking, And the funny thing is, is I'm being not funny. It's I'm being serious right now. I mean, I think Matt would have a hard time convincing that things were going in the right direction again. You were brought in to revolutionize this offense. And what is this offense done? And that way. Haven't got the discipline part. Yeah, but I mean, why his whims punching people. Then why is Miller getting a judge where you were brought into to develop a quarterback? I get it. It wasn't the quarterback. You would have selected if you were here when we were drafting, But you were brought in to elevate the play of the guy that we staked our Our future too, and he has made very little to no progress at all. Yes, the culture that we talk about all the time The guys do enjoy playing for him. But at the end of the day when you have two incidents this year against the same team, and your guys have been warned against unruly behavior. And they still find themselves on the wrong end of these moments. It's going to fall at the feet of the head coach, even if that's an Anthony Miller and Ajavon whims problem, it comes back to the coach. I'm sorry. Let me let me ask you this, Sylvie. Yeah, There are plenty of people listening to this show playing people here in the Chicago Land area and also who listen around the country on the ESPN Chicago APP. You look at the totals at the end of the season against weak opponents and say the offense is improving. Is it possible that George McCaskey Is in that grouping of people that believed The numbers that were being put up against poor defense is in the National Football League. And Maggie could sway him into thinking that this offense, actually at the end of the year was starting to pick up some pace. No pun intended. You know, you're right. No. Can't rule that out. I can't rule it was George doesn't know. You know this What do we know this like If George was doing this right, he Speak. Somewhat. Secretly midway through the season when hope was lost when we knew they were spiraling, and even though they were fooled I would hope he's that, but I don't think we're Chris says is out of the realm of possibility. You, Ugo. I You can rule it out. Not 100% because I wouldn't rule out anything that would be fired. But the reality is is I mean, George has been around football long enough to know That that's a mirage. I mean, it's simple for most people to see wasn't improvement. Yes, you give credit where credit is due, and we did that. But we warned you at that time. That this will work against lesser opponents. But just be aware that when you step up in class There's a chance that it won't and that was the easiest. That was the easiest disclaimer toe ever offer in the history of this show, like when we sat here, and I said to you guys, they listen, If you really this coaching staff wants to win, and that's match job. He's got to make a quarterback change. Not just because they're fools can't function behind this broken down offensive line, but he isn't very good right now. So what they've got to do is you gotta get Mitch out there to be able to buy some time and keep the game alive. It's going to force them to scale things back a changed the offense like But You're going to see them improve against lesser opponents. But just keep an eye on the fact that at the end of the year you're going to face a better Packers team. And if you do get into the postseason, you're going to step up in class like that was the easiest disclaimer in the history of football to give you that. Just beware that what you're watching? There is a large bit of false hope attached to it. There's banana in the tailpipe aspect to all of this, So I mean, yeah, Anything is possible, but I mean, I can't imagine George, who watches every game closely and who's been at the helm of this organization. Now for the last several years, can't distinguish your ineptitude against good teams from your Scoring a bunch of points against bad teams. I think he's smart enough to get a better. That was the case. They'd be gone by now. I think they'd be gone by now, then, but let let's continue. The conversation went to load up the phone lines of 3323776 got the poll question out there. George McCaskey will That data and I gave you four choices. Fire Nagy, Fire Pace, Clean house or keep them all Now I did not include the Ted fellows part of this. You know how I feel about that. Headphones has been the one constant through all of this as the guy advising George as the guy advising the family even before George ran the team. And the 35 years of the championship drought in the 10 years of not winning a playoff game and the badness against the Packers. All of it. He's been there. He's the constant. But what do you think's gonna happen with those guys convert on my Twitter page at Waddell and Sylvie? We've got Would you rather today send us your Would you rather items on Twitter using the hashtag double us?.

"When I was walking in? Hit it on the head. You know, outrage is one thing you actually want outrage to keep your fan base Engage. You want your die hards to be outraged, But apathy is what you really have to feel What you make it. There's a lot of outrage. Mark. Yes, there is, but but but again, like Here's a reason why you spend where you look at a Robert Quinn and you say to yourself. My general manager doesn't draft well and I have to go out and spend 30 million on an aging Russia and $30 million if I had better guys in the front office. Then I could just draft guys and they could be my core. That's why, like I think the costs of general manager and coaches and scouts are pennies on the dollar compared to what you're paying Jimmy Graham $9 million because you couldn't find a tight end before him because of your general to make a great one handed catch at the end of a cable. He was he was a fantastic luckily didn't screw up the point Spread. Look, the one thing that I will agree with you in terms of what leads me to believe that it's very, very, very Very possible that there's no changes. Despite the fact that you are an NFL hell and your eight Nate, There's been no progress the last two years. You're not the poo show that you were that existed with Marc Trustman. Right. So, like I said, I'll get everything is relative. Look what we're comparing them. My point is, is that like Like that wouldn't keep me like that. That that's a low bar. Well, we're not a complete and total dumpster fire the way we were with Marc Trestman, where guys were talking about it, and it was just a That shouldn't be the bar for change that came in more. That team may have had more talent in this team. Yeah, could especially mean you're everybody's reaction to Mitch. Just tiptoeing out of bounds and given up on that fourth down run is gonna be etched in people's minds forever, and I watched the postgame And maybe it's just me because I'm bent that way. Um, Mitch seemed like when he was asked. Do you want to come back here? He's like, Yeah. Yeah, I guess I think I got better, but I think he's already like Maybe a change of scenery is better for me, too. I don't know that people I don't know. Maybe I'm in the minority with this thought. I don't know how many teams are going to be knocking down his door to give him well. Bunch of money. This is how I see him a career back up making tons of money for the next 10 or 12 years, which is fine. He's a good guy. He can't play. He's not a starter, period. End of story. You need a left tackle. They need to tax Yes, I will ask you both. Do you think what we saw this year from Teddy Bridgewater? Help simmer hurts him. Like because Teddy Bridgewater was considered to be a better, you know, prospect. And Teddy had a very bland kind of average here and is making what $27 million. Does that help Mitch like, Hey, I can go somewhere else and be that or does it hurt? Much like Why would we give 27 or $25 Million or whatever was to somebody that we're hoping is going to be better and really isn't right. I think Mitch is smart to take whatever the barest might offer him. If it's a one or two year deal and didn't radio to get still on double secret probation, then you get 10 million Aren't the Raiders on the hook for 10 or 11 2 years, right? I think that's more of a comp. Where you say to yourself? Look, I want to. I want to get him back. I want to get his confidence back. He could be my backup quarterback or compete. But and I'm hoping to get lightning. I don't think anyone will look a teddy Bridgewater. Remember had like the arrow pointing up because he filled in in 15 regulation here, breathe right. And I don't think that the euro is going up from. Maybe it's sideways like it's not is down is it would be fun to play. There will be some people that will look at the situation like Rex Rex Ryan did and say. Mitch was mismanaged by mad Maggie and I won't dispute that. But I will also counter that with true Mitch has limitations that right that also have to be factored in. Whether he stays here, go somewhere else. He's going to be fighting for a job at all times. Nothing's going to be guaranteed him. It all. You gotta figure Alan Robinson's gone Although Look at the market, you know again. This is this is weird coming out of a year where players have opted out, and the money really isn't what it was the salary cap. Lowered as much as you keep him. I don't know that you can afford to pay him what he's looking for. Jodi Allen Robinson Telegraph that I want to tell you guys what he said today he did speak to the media. You want to talk to mark If you want to make a point on the Bears, we have one more segment left before the national championship game. Remember, this is your home. Bama, Ohio State. "Hadley, Freddie opener here the point Spread sports book Pregame shall be here with you till about 3 30. Brian. Last boy wants the last six weeks last seven weeks. We've been doing the points by pre game contest and we're doing it again today because Barrister in the playoffs, and they're still playing s a little bit later on During this show, we'll let you know when Andrea you have to do is be the 10th caller and the winner will get a $200 game day package $100 a wages on horse racing via the mobile club Hawthorne account, which I'm not eligible for, but I could use that. Because my account is dwindled on $100 in sports wagers via the mobile points. Bet account. We'll tell you when to call. It's very simple. You just gotta be 21 are over and resident of Illinois and we'll do that little bit later on in the show. Yeah, my my horse racing account has dwindled to I think I have 50 cents so you can't make it 50 when you actually could make a 10 Cent 10 cents. Super factor. Yeah, it's hard enough. What used to make a 10 Cent to perfect that I think of your boxes to 40 last few weeks. I can get one horse right for exactly. Yeah, I know. I know. It's been very difficulty over mired in a little bit of difficulty area, Okay? Leah, Leah? Uh, yes. He certainly are. 3123323776. So Alan Robinson and last meeting with the New Orleans Saints and Week eight, Robinson had six catches 87 yards, and he was covered a lot by Marshall Lattimore Lattimore is a big name, um, guy in the secondary for the New Orleans Saints. And Robinson was asked this week. If there's anything he could take from that game was the 26 23 lost in overtime earlier this season at Soldier Field look, a different circumstances, obviously different players and then we have won the division, you know. So we were coming off. I think at that point time, maybe, like five or six straight wins at that point in time, like that point in the season, something like that. But you know again, I mean for us, you know, it hasn't been, you know. Has been up in now year for it, but again, I mean, we've had more up stand downs, obviously, cause we're in the playoffs, you know, so again first, just about capitalizing on our opportunity. You know, that's the main thing again. I mean, for us. We have a lot of guys who have been to adversity through this season. We've been through adversity as a team through this season, and we feel like again and that has made us a better team. You know when it comes to certain things down the stretch so again, I mean, guys have leaned on each other and have had to lean on each other all season. So again. The playoffs isn't any different. You know guys are locked in tuned in, and you guys are excited for the opportunity that I think that's one of the things is that you know, no matter what happens when you're playing sports, you want to get to the playoffs. Okay. Obviously your goal is ultimately to win the big one. You can't do that until you get to the playoffs and, you know, I'm sure that deep down inside, they probably realized there's It's an outside shot. They they go anywhere, but you've got to get to the playoffs. There's got to be fun for these guys after the five and one start. Even though they got in because of a gift because of the extra team this year, you know, they've got to be pumped at practice this week and probably ready for the Saints. We'll think about that friend. I mean, he just said Alan just said ups and downs. I've never seen a season like this right and and any sport I've covered Where Is he a little too? You start five and one. And you're almost a certainty to be in the playoffs. And and now you're talking about visor maybe buying for the division. Then most things don't ever see in the NFL six game losing streak. I mean that, you know a few that really bad organizations. It's also possible lose six row in the NFL. Right. There's some teams will pass you It's a training on so called trafficking, Whatever. And then you come back and take advantage of schedule and you get a three game win streak and the offenses all sudden clicking and looking different. All that. They were really ups and downs underneath the ups and downs right because during the five of one the defense was as advertised. We wanted to believe, anyway as the offense was still You know, Matt Nikki didn't want should be negative and asked him about. Well, wait a minute. We know you're five on one. But what about that offense? Well, don't don't go ahead and, you know criticized. We're going to enjoy this. And then the six game losing streak comes in. A lot of it has to do with the defense as much of the offense. And if truth be told them, that's why we have one of the poll questions. Twitter questions day. What do you trust more on the barest offense or defense and in one of our responders, Chris O'Neil said. The correct answer is no. Toe, which Eric Ostrovsky running our ESPN 1000 sent special teams, Then we don't Well, we have other options. But the point is, you record was up and down. The defense was up and down. The offense was down, down, down and now up. And then down last week. I can't wait to hear the season and review that we're gonna run the show because you don't see seasons like this because you couldn't You couldn't have written this thing out and had anyone believed that we would actually play out. And, in actuality, no With a 16 game season, you start the first six games five and one You figure the worst we're going to do is split that gives you 10 wins. Okay? Yes. Oh, They did worse that they ended up with eight for the season and I was talking yesterday and I kept saying You know? Five weeks ago, We thought that pace would have been gone now you would have been gone. Who? Notre Boesky probably gone, but after they came back and won three in a row, it's it's difficulty. I would think would be difficult to get rid of a head coach who's not had losing seasons now, people he called up, and he said while Lovey Smith got fired a tenant six he did, but he had been there for nine years. He would he had six seasons above the rate of 500 or better. He had three losing seasons in that time. And they just come off three straight. I think there were 11 and 58, Nate and then text in the new GM was told. You know, you got your deal with the head coach didn't want pay. Lovely to go away. Sure, so he was just waiting for the clock to run out. And he was going to bring in his guy Marc Trestman, and we know how that played out. So the fact is that Ryan Pace isn't firing Matt. Maggie. If Ryan Pace keeps the job right, so it would have to be George McCaskey. Yeah, I've said it for weeks, and I don't think I think George McCaskey was looking for reasons not to play or anybody. And he got those reasons with the three game win streak and the prolific offense the Bears put together against bad defense is but started look like a legitimate NFL offense anyway. My question. You would be his Chuck Pagano coaching for his bare coach his coaching today. I would think so..

"Today this is america sports talk show sports byline usa. Here's ron jake. Plumber is joins us on sports. Byline of course. He played quarterback in the nfl for ten seasons drafted in the second round of arizona. State by the arizona. Cardinals also played with the broncos and tampa bay. You were taken as i mentioned In the second round and One of your teammates. Who was a teammate with you at arizona state was pat. Tillman tell me a little bit about the first time you ever met him. I remember beating. Patty came in on as recruiting trip. And i immediately. I can cause he long hair. He said dude out every other word and he wasn't dressed up he was wearing some just like he just picked up. Some clothes off floor came on the trip so for him. I knew he wasn't coming down there to impress anybody. He was coming down there to see what what was going on. And if it was worthwhile for him become become a sun devil. And i loved him. Because you know smaller guy You know supposedly not as fast fast enough to play his position and all of the all of the things they stack attention. When you're not a five star four star recruit you know but pat was awesome and then from the minute. He came in and got into the program. He was influential and Immediately you know we were pretty close. Because like i said a couple of these kids were supposed to be there but now we're here and we're making a difference and we were setting the tone out there for that squad and i tear style. The time i got to spend with. That guy was an amazing amazing human. Being one of the commonalities that i saw during the course of his playing career both at asu and in the national football league and also watching you and both locations was that You both walk to the beat of your own drum. And i always thought that was a strength because i think you know usually in society certainly in sports like football certainly in the national football league there's a structure that they want all players to fit into. How did you both make that happen to be true to yourselves. I think you have to go back to just how. I know how i was raised. He was raised in a family of enough with the three boys Very loving mother and father who you know top top them to think for themselves or thought for you know like make sure you have a head on your shoulders. Know what's going on and same with my mom and dad. They really taught me. Just be myself my brothers to mention that like not that need be too big headed or think bigger than anybody else and they show that i treated people right and All that's really what it was about. I think we've may tap into the national hero. Become for for what he did to give up the dream of plane and making lots of money to fight our country. But there's a lot of people out there in the world that just treat people right and that was really the best best attribute pat. He treated people with respect. He treated people out he wanted to be treated. And you know if if if that makes him the most special person in the world and there's a lot of them out there also and i tell people that a lot You know pat was definitely unique individual. But there's a lot of people out there with high quality and high standard naturally. What pat was about and i know he if he could he would take his mom and dad his brothers and his family for up to the individual he was. I will tell you something. I'll never forget. And i still smile or even laugh to this day was when you gave the eulogy for him and you were in a suit and flops. Honor of him. Well you know he. He hated getting dressed up any type of suits or anything like that. And the on the plane in arizona. He he wears high tech hiking boots and a of cargo pants. I think got washed with a pink sweater or something of marine. He didn't want to get dressed up for him. it was. hey. I'm coming here to play ball. I don't need to look pretty aware of thousand one hundred thousand dollar watches to show everybody. I deserve to be here. He was just all about what you see is what you got. And you know he. He was really a remarkable person. And he influenced my life tremendously. I got to spend a lot of time with him and you know i. I hope someday someone will go around. Asu campus and all around ten p. And just ask people if they ever bumped into pat and and not just bumped into like. Hey how you doing. You walked by. But i guarantee a lot of people out. There were positively influenced by that guy. He had a coffee shop ghost restore or wherever because he really was one of a kind. And i'm just every day. And i you know. I'm sad that he's done. But you know if anything unless i have a image just being inspired to don't be don't try to be as genuine as you can and just always take life as a challenge and and try to make yourself. You moved into the national football league and you start at quarterback your first year in the seventh game. You let the cardinals on a ninety eight yard drive capping it with a thirty one yard. Go ahead touchdown. You lead the cardinals to three of their four victories that season. What did you expect the nfl to be like an. How was it similar to or different from what you thought. Well i got a pretty quick introduction to the nfl and first interception. I threw in the pre season. You know trying to take the ball down and having these big news really trying to kill you and hurt you bad so i learned right away like hey your quarterback and the nfl if you feel better play deep safety because these big. I'd wanna hurt you when they get the chance and I try to be doing some tough stuff and by the way to back off. Let those guys go You know especially the big guys. I remember one time. They can a guy and the preseason and thinking oh i got signed to hitch up and maybe the ball a little further by the time i hit stuff to look my next guy. The guy that i made mis had jumped up and stripped the ball out of my hands because they're hungry and the nfl you know they. They know that could be cut. And there goes that that ticket to feed their family or take care of their kids or whatever it is so different different college though the intensity and the ability levels of all those players was but the cream of the crop only makes it so i learned. You know those balls overthrow college that maybe if you missed the target on hit the ground in incomplete those balls were coming back at you and the nfl there was. There was none of that. They were getting minnesota and returned right back actor so quick learning curve but then on all just football you just had to pick up your pay a little bit be crest really become a student of the game and i was really lucky to be coached by some amazing coaches. You're one of my favorites. Is g chris still coaching it in the league and marc trestman really taught me a lot about the footwork involved and coming out of. Let's go style and back to the bill. Walsh combo had earlier of just using your feet and timing of your feet and trusting receivers and he took it to a next level for me as far as playing quarterback and I was lucky to be coached. I some amazing coaches. You know as well as i do that the nfl is kind of system football sense. You had a reputation as a risk-taking gunslinger type of quarterback and i'm just wondering did you bristle at that type of label put on you not at all. You.
