"Are here to lead you into the weekend. With some fun horse talk. And some really bad ads. On horses in the morning. Well yesterday was a big news day in the horse world. Oh my gosh, it was crazy. He's like two big stories in one day. I remember when we covered this first story, we're going to talk about the Michael bear his own thing. And we covered this in the beginning, two, three years ago. And we said, you know, there's more to this story. There's just the story is so bizarre. I mean, it seemed like ELISA wysocki novel. And New Jersey of all places. So, you know, Nancy jaffer, who's one of the most well-known journalists for the horse world. We see her all the time in Kentucky. She lives in New Jersey, so she was at this trial and of course we're talking about the Michael barrison. He's a Olympian. He was on the Olympic team. He was a dressage trainer and writer. And he shot two people shot one person and shot at the other. This pair that was living on his property that he was trying to evict and they were driving him absolutely insane and apparently so much so that when the trial finally came lasted a couple of weeks took four days for the jury to come to a conclusion and what they said was that he is innocent by reason of insanity for shooting her and he was ruled not guilty for anything to do with the woman's boyfriend. So if you want to read all about it, if you have not heard about this at all, you need to go take a look because there's a lot more than we can cover in this short time. But if you look at it and on the outside you're like, oh my gosh, this guy shot somebody and they pleaded sanity and it worked and then you start to read some of the things she did. Well, you've dealt with the situation not quite this bad, but was similar. Well, just the fact where it said he tried to evict somebody and they wouldn't leave. I was like, oh my God, if that was the case, I'd burn the house down with them. It's just something else. So he faces a psychiatric evaluation. He's not out yet. Now, he's been in jail for three years. Because he had no parole, or no bail, rather. So he's been there for three years. He did not look good. You saw the pictures of him. He looked like a skeleton. I mean, just didn't look good at all. He looked like Nick Nolte's mugshot. So he's going to be going for evaluation and they're doing another hearing on May 17th to determine, I guess what happens to him. So if you want to read more about this in a really good article, somebody who sat in on the trial for the couple of weeks who said it was just absolutely bizarre at times. Nancy jaffer's article post a link to it. Yeah, horse sport dot com. The other crazy news story that happened yesterday was the Mark Todd. I mean, this is like national news. I mean, it's all over. Yahoo in the sports and all the news outlets and how Mark Todd has been given back his training license..

"That they are rated by the short being nothing is found. And then suddenly they come down heavily on Steve Mann and he gets banned. Oh, I see. There's a number of yeah, there's a number of issues. And the issue that Paul raises is, I think the vast majority of the horses in his care have gone to pa Kelly. So they're trained by pat Kelly and pat lost the Reynolds horses. Mostly to Gordon Elliott. Phil Brennan made the decision to just move those horses and look, that is entitlement. Steven man is now traveling head a lot for him. But if the IH or B because he interfered in that drug sampling situation in the manner that he did and the way that that was written about by the age or B and reported. Now you can interfere in that in any way. What I can understand why he would be so if what Paul image is writing is true and I am taking all of this with a grain of salt. With that being said, we're not doing our job if we don't talk about it. I can understand on the basis of what poor image has written, why Stephen man would be so skeptical of the IH or V. And it is intriguing that Jim bulger said what he said then said it again. I think it was to David Jennings and the racing post, then he says it again to Paul kimmage. But when it comes time to speaking to well, first of all, the House of Commons asked him to speak and that was never going to happen. I thought that was quite funny, actually. And if you know Jimbo, you'll know why. But the doll committee, so our version of that adult errand committee asked him to speak and he wouldn't. He wouldn't do it. And I wonder, was it because he saw what happened to Stephen. And they've had such a close bond, which I wasn't aware of. I must admit. Now again, Stephen, you look back at that case. I think it was 2009. Again, Twitter correct me if I'm wrong. That's shameful. That is that is utterly shameful. But it is a good point made by Paul image. Why did the owners not make a complaint? Why did they not report them to the IH or B? Maybe they did, and that's why they are at your B came in, but it does seem odd that he was providing the ayah JB with information that the IHR B were in contact with him that he has the receipts of this. And yet it's him who gets taken out. Yes, I think what's going to happen. Well, I mean, hopefully for everybody's sake is that the truth comes out eventually and then all is clear because at the moment it seems like there's a lot of issues, a lot of cover ups and I think that Jim bulge a comment has stuck in the mind of a lot of people in horse racing, not just in Ireland, but all around the UK. So yeah, I think hopefully the truth will come out at some point and whether that's going to be a shock to everybody I have no idea, but it sounds so there's a lot of cover ups and perhaps a lot of issues going on. I strongly recommend you read the article. It's the first of three, as I said, I think it might, yeah, I think it's a three part series. Paul kimmage investigates Irish horse racing's dirty secrets part one. Now don't be fooled. Paul images his own reasons for doing this stuff, but at the same time, whether you like him or not, he is a journalist of the highest integrity and. When David Walsh wrote what he wrote about breaking the brownie frost case wide open. He came in for an enormous amount of criticism. And I spoke with David several times, actually, on the phone. I remember driving. We were both driving. He was in the UK and I was driving in Ireland. Obviously using the Apple apple CarPlay. So hands free. And he said that he was just disgusted by what had gone on, which is why he felt compelled to write about it, but also that he's been a fan of horse racing since he was a kid. And that he's been to cheltenham for 30 plus years. He's never missed a Sheldon festival. So it's not like David Walsh was coming in, it's not like he's coming in like that journalist, the ping Pong guy. And this isn't him again. That's something or other. Who just took a swing at racing for clicks knowing nothing about it. David Walsh is a big racing fan. I don't know about pork image. I don't know if Paul is a big racing fan. But I know that if you're going to write this and if you're going to go after the IH or B in the manner that he has, and it's part one of three and the Irish independent are going to publish it. And then part two is going to be pretty compelling stuff. Who was your horse to take away from the weekend? There was so many old timers, but new kids on the block like hill grass and whole stone winning and. So hard. I think, do you know what goshen, I think, because I'm so, I'm so happy for the Moors, Emmett, because they've had a tough time with that horse and I think him winning at sandan, then him winning again at the weekend that we encounter was great, so I think that there are hardworking family and I think he's on a roll now gosh and so I looked at them and making the most of it whilst he's in the form that he is in. So yeah, goshen was great for me. Hard to disagree with that. As long as you keep him right handed, you're okay. So no champion hurdle for him. To say the least. Hillcrest for me. I think we've seen the potential race winner. I know that we talked on the show with the Darren a while back. By the way, exciting news from all of our Sunday. All about something they have bought the most expensive horse in their history. And a €150,000 approaches. And the.

"There's more to come. And it does put a different twist on what we were told. It does put a different twist on what's there. I still have a major issue with what went on with that poor horse, it was left abandoned in the field, but in what you read, Lucy and what you've heard. How concerned are you about Irish racing and what has come from this? And indeed, Jim bolger's comments as well. Well, there's a number of issues, isn't there going on, but as you said, and I think most importantly, the comment that Jim bolger made when was it in 2020. I think that comment that he made is just, you know, people are not going to forget about that comment. Anytime soon, are they? I think that's sort of remained in a lot of people's minds. The comment that Jim bolder made and this ongoing scenario with. The man story of with Stephen mayhem who obviously it seems like the information he's provided is not being taken seriously. Is that what the article has been written about? It seems as though that seems. I'm trying to read into what Paul kimmage has said to you, but it appears as though we'll pull images alleging is that Stephen Mann passed on information. The information was then either leaked, because somehow that trainer realized they were going to be raided by the Arya or B and instead.

"And treat them as the athletes they are. And I mocked out and did the unpleasant work and then got to ride cross country. I rode a horse who was a complete psychopath and I honestly Lucy, we were coming to a wall fence, and I was at the back of the field as per usual. And everybody else was jumping in. And I was like, oh no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. And I just closed my eyes. And fair plate of the horse he just took over and he did it. Because I was like, this isn't going to work. But I never saw a horse mistreated in that manner or in that way. I never witnessed that. So. I don't know what I'm more disappointed with. The people who are blindly and you are not one of those people. Let me make that very, very clear. Lucy Russell Hughes is not one of the people who is defending him. But I don't know what I'm more disappointed with. The people who are blindly defending Mark Todd and liking comments on social media. Here's more context. Here's a longer video where he hits the horse more. This shoot educates you into what was going on. That's not good. All right, it doesn't make it look better. It just makes it look worse and you look worse for defending him. And the people who have look worse for defending him. But particularly when these are the same people who were calling for the head of a trainer last year. It doesn't make sense. And does that argument? Because I could claim it as my own, but that would be very unfair. Matt's argument that Gordon's actions were with the horse who was no longer alive and therefore it was just, it was a stupid thing for him to do, but that horse couldn't feel. He couldn't feel any pain. And the owner didn't pull horses from him. In fact, the owner is leaving the game and yet bought three new horses to give him. But this source is alive. And so this horse can feel the pain. Does Matt Polly's argument make sense to you? A little, yeah. I mean, they're both they're both wrong in their own ways, aren't they? I think one of the fact that cornelli is such a big name, I know that Mark told us a big name as well, but obviously the video was what he was doing in his equestrian discipline, not horse racing. So I wonder whether it might have been a different story if it was more horse racing related if you see what I'm saying because I think that might have had more of an uproar. I'm not entirely sure, but I think they're both they're both wrong. What they've done. So yeah, as you say, there seems to be more of a bigger reaction for the golden Elliott case, but I don't know why. I mean, obviously, Cornell, it's very big name. And obviously both what they both done is not good. So yeah, as you said, there's a different reaction, isn't there slightly to one than the other? I'm disappointed with people who have defended them. And I'm disappointed with the people who are in the background laughing. Yeah. Incredibly disappointed in that. I thought that was just shameful shit. I really love some. You people need to take a long hard look at yourselves. It's very disappointing. It's extremely disappointing. Well done to the BHA, this stepped in very quickly. And gone, right? In terms of suspension and I would imagine it will be at least a year. If it's not, you'd have to ask some questions, but I would imagine it would be at least a year. And look at how Gordon went away for 6 months because he got a year banned 6 months suspended and look at how he's come back. And bounce back and. The achievements that he has had the season, and you can see he's building his horses up to Shelton quite nicely. They're coming up nicely to the boil. He's been a champion trainer at the cheltenham festival before. He was warmly welcome back to Shelton at the October meeting and the November meeting. He was warmly welcome to America. Carrie Bryan told us, by the way, the McQueen doesn't run in the marathon due to COVID reasons. So Carrie won't be running the horse, but we'll talk to Carrie again about the American jumps racing scene over there because there'll be a few hours trainer setting over. So we'll chat to her. But the current plan is to bring the mean queen over in 2023. So for COVID reasons, they had to make a decision and they couldn't go. Tiger roll ugh. Michael and Larry has decided not to allow him to run in the 1 million pound grand national. Describing mister Greenwood, who is the handicapper, describing the racing he put him on, which is a mark of one 6 one, two pounds higher than when he won the grand national last in 2019. As absurd, since we are responsible for the welfare of Tiger roll, we must protect him from the idiotic opinion of this handicapper in a bizarre twist. The BHA have come out and defended Andy capra, they normally don't do that. But he says, look, he's 12 years of age. He's clearly not as good as he was. 8 or 9, and yet the UK handicapper now raid some two pounds higher than he's won 5 9 rating in April 2019 when he won the point hurdle and the grand national. The rating is absurd. It's unfair on 12 year old and it's a pity that the handicapper won't give Tiger roll either a fair rating or a waste at the grand national where he could at least try to emulate red rum's three grand national wins. I don't know whether he's just copied the rent from last year and adjusted it a little bit. But this is sort of a similar symbolism here. Right or wrong. Lucy. Well, what are you asking me if his decisions right? I suppose they should clarify that a little bit, yeah. Michael O'Leary, right or wrong. I mean, I'd say wrong because if he was my horse, I'd be doing things differently. I mean, Emmett, the only way you're going to change your mark is if you actually run in chase races and how many how many chase races has he actually participated in since his last grand national victory, not two. Straight.

"Gordon ill advisedly and stupidly posed for a photograph. But that horse is not in pain. An accident has happened. The horses had to be put down, but he's not doing anything to hurt the horse. It was a silly thing for him to do. I hammered him on the final for a long, a hammered him on talk sport. I called, I said, the suspension was right. But I also said, once this suspension was lifted for some reason, we're doubling back there. When the suspension was lifted, that right, that's it. He served his penance. He served his time. Let him come back. And Gordon's age, you can see the effect of the talent on him. This man is dealing with a live resource who can feel pain who is feeling pain and will feel the pain of his actions. And yet, people who were on this show are no longer are, are defending him. They're either shadow liking comments on Facebook or their shadow liking stuff on Twitter or retweeting support of him. Hey, they're not retweeting and actually they're just being clever enough to like it so that their name is there in support of sir Mark taught, but without retweeting it to bring the mob on them. But they wanted Gordon's head last year. Now they don't. And some are has acted in the manner that he has with a live horse. Horse who will actually feel pain. And he himself has apologized. He himself, before I'm pretty certain, before he was pushed, he resigned from the world resource welfare association. Pretty certain they were just going to go you're fired, or you're sacked, but as a patron he resigned from that. And you are right. He apologized. But the fact that he apologized means that all these people who are coming up with like, there was a sales agency. It was highlighted by godolphin John who was shattered to get off and John again. One of the. Most sensible and intelligent tweeters of horse racing commentary, on the tweet machine, a sales agency comes out in defense of Samarkand because of this longer video. And there seems to be this narrative of turning it on the person who released the video. Well, maybe she had two years to think about what happened to one. You know what? That wasn't right. So I don't get where the defense of Mark Todd comes from. And I really don't get how people who are in horse racing media. Are defending him. When those same people were hammering Gordon alias and wanted him gone. I don't get how there can be a defensive one. But not a defense of the other. Well, I'm certainly not defending him. But I'm certainly I'm not saying two wrongs make a right either. So I think it's up to the BHA now how they handle the case because yes, what he's done is inexcusable. I'm certainly not defending him, but I will just have to say that people must get the facts right because the video that was shown of Mark Todd hitting the horse, it wasn't a race horse. I'm not saying that makes it any better or any different. But it was a private lesson from what I gathered. It's a show jumper, isn't it? Yeah, it's not race, it's not a race horse because it's a private lesson. From whoever he was giving less than two, but yet I'm certainly not the venue here I'm certainly not saying.

"That he beat the damage. He beat the bosses Oscar at punches town in a hurdle and you go through his form that there's decent form there. And this was a fantastic start to his chasing career. Yeah, I think if you look back his form in previous years, he's had a bit of a mixed match, hasn't he of results, but yeah, so to be honest, I was quite surprised with the manner of his victory at gore and at the weekend, but what Paul Tanner did was he sort of let the field didn't he stayed out of trouble and virtually made all the running and it's probably the best thing to do in 18 runner beginners chase because he didn't then come into too much trouble. I mean, the only trouble he came into was at the last when he over jumped and knew landed with his knees. So he did well to stay up. But on the whole, he's jumping was very, very good. And it's great to see him cement a victory on the racecourse because as I said, I think his form is very, very mixed match, very in and out, very hard to gauge what kind of running he's going to give you, but as you said, I think if you go far enough back, there is there is talent there. There is form there that suggests that he could be a horse that can do well in chasing. I mean, in graded races as well, because this was a beginner chase. And I'd like to see him step up into graded company over fences. Yeah. I couldn't agree with you more. His form ties in with factory delaying, who's going to run tomorrow. So we're recording this on Monday. He's going to run and choose that now, then in the rescheduled point hurdle meeting, he'll be bumping into his stable companion run wild Fred. Interestingly, one wild thread has been partnered by Mark Walsh. Which makes me think that the plan with him is otherwise Jaime not writing in there. I was going to say that I think that's a clear indication that run well for it will go for what Rory suggested that he will go for the national hunt chase. Brian Cooper is on board for delaying. I think faculty is a little bit under the radar. He was only beaten a length and a quarter by statler. And yet everybody fell over themselves to be with statler. He was second to master makishi at limerick. Over fences, he beat blue Sari. Who obviously we've. Just had a discussion about. And I'm sorry was very impressive. He's beaten vanilla. At Christmas time and then had a bit of a setback. Vanilla goes on to disappoint the DOF before bolting up a shelter. And I think he's a horse that's under people's under the radar. So I'd keep him, keep him in mind, but yeah, blue sorry is obviously very, very interesting, but watch out for fuck your delay in tomorrow and let's see how he gets on. And if run royal Fred wins and you took Rory's advice, then gravy time. All right, a couple of topics to discuss that just some gentle topics that you and I were talking about beforehand. On WhatsApp, nothing scandalous or anything like that. Mark Todd. So we didn't get a chance to talk about some last week. And Matt Polly made his debut on the show. Now, mass was an amateur jockey. He was an assistant trainer. And he's now a equine radiographer. And he got kicked in the head and was knocked out for 12 hours. Which is why he's not back to work. And I was amazed he came on the show. Sounded great. Absolutely sounded fantastic. But he had some interesting things to say, which I'll share after Lucy said, or say, but I will say that we did a poll on Twitter, 2566 of our listeners voted on it. The Mark Todd scandalous brought racing is disrepute with what I said. We talk about how important horse welfare is. And then this video emerges plenty of leptis defense, while many have condemned him, but have your say. 6% of you of the 2566 who voted in the final results are in part is this what Mark Todd did was part of everyday training, 6% of you said that was questionable, 10% of you was absolutely disgraceful, 84% of you. As somebody who is written as some of the top stables and is retraining an x-ray source yourself, Lucy. See, I remembered this time. I've been remembering mostly now that you're on the show in your most recent appearances on the show. What has your reaction to the Mark Todd scandal been? Yes, it's not great. I mean, it's about racing. I think the only good thing is that he's come out and apologize because what he's done in the video is not good. And obviously the BHA has suspended him and I'm not entirely sure for how long, but obviously it remains to be seen about that, but I mean he's come out and apologize and quite rightly so because, yeah, what he was seen to be doing in the video was not good at all. Not something that you would want if you were an owner and you had horses with so much Todd, you wouldn't like to think that sort of behavior goes on and I'm sure it doesn't on a regular basis. That's for sure. I'm sure this was a one off a moment of madness, but it certainly doesn't make it acceptable. So I mean, he's come out and apologized and rightly so. There is no other video evidence that has been leaked, although something else might come out, you never know. This isn't a moment of madness in terms of what you're watching. He's holding a longer video emerged. And this was supposed to exonerate him. And that longer video shows him holding a branch. And belting the horse with that. You could say he's brushing those with it, but he's not. He's belting the horse with it. So he's doing this each time the horse goes to the water. The horse was nervous of.

"Paste dual with those who ends up finishing second top till then. Boss. She's just emptied and she's won on heavy before, so it was quite disappointing. Stairs hurdle and the mayor's hurdle or options for her look as a stormy island backer and fan. There's a power to me going. Yes. There's another part of me going. That's not nice. But look, she's fine. But that's not a great preparation. And if she goes and wins at cheltenham. I kind of feel as though my sister Sarah went over there. When an argument was taken on as a cider to give, I mean, she's finished second in a race where she's picked up some black type. So there's nothing wrong with it. But it was to give the William on his team an idea of just how strong is the mayor's division in the UK? And I think stormy Ireland is going to take all the basic in the mayor's hurdles. So, but she was the worst. I was most afraid of. And yeah, not an ideal preparation for it all, so you need to be careful as you proceed with caution with Molly always, which is whether it's the stairs or the mayor's article because that's not the kind of preparation that you want, but fantastic for good old stone. He won't go to Sheldon. He will go to entry for the Liverpool hurdle. So what a fantastic performance. And well done to the team. Last race we're going to look at is blu Sari hammering a grand party just by the 13 links with 24 links back to Siberian prince for Noel mead. Blue Sari was a very talented horse last season. Almost certain.

"Preparation. A very unusual start to his life. In this, he spent a long time in point to points. In Ireland, you might run twice in a point to point, and then that's it. You're sold. For some reason in the UK, this fellow ran to come doing this. He ran into point to point, then he ran in a bumper, he finished 5th. When back into pointer points, so ended up running in one, two, three, four, 5, 6 points. Goes to font well. Because straight over offenses wins, Carlyle straight of offenses wins, chips to over hurdles, falls. What are these small obstacles? What is this crap? But back over fences, he's now four from four. As you said, he's won at lingfield. Was that part of the millions weekend? It was the Surrey national chase. So he's won that at a decent price. And he has it was part of the millions weekend, wasn't it? I think it might have been. Well, there was the weatherbee's children festival bedding guide hurdle that Bruni pa storm one, so it was definitely the millions weekend because I know that due to our partnership with weather bees. So I'm delighted for him that he's come along this way. And so I did for Ben Clark as well, who seems to be a proper gentleman in his horses or in tremendous war. So yeah, it's a good thing to see. So well done to them. And I did feel a little bit sorry for Bristol tonight, and I could, I could see, I could picture Rory's allergy and the tear just coming down from his face. As his beloved Bristol domain ran such an honorable race, but he did improv. Does he know when's the Reynolds down chase for Kim Bailey and David bass beating doyenne breed, who was my selection? By 14 lengths, he thumped me Freud and fernhill. Well, we won't even mention them from listen Rory. And coric rambler unseated his rider. He was making headway and just makes a mistake in the writer comes out the front door during Fox. I believe the Scottish grand national remains the plan. What did you make of does he know? Does he know? Yeah, very enthusiastic this talk. I mean, he was taken down to post early, wearing a hood so I think he's pretty much a bit of a handful, I think. You can see that in the early part of his racist very enthusiastic jump, but my goodness, to win a three mile chase on soft ground aspect by 14 lengths. I mean, I think everybody woke up, didn't they and thought, okay, this horse could be pretty serious. I mean, in the parties, you know, he's got good form and graded races. So perhaps he's gone under the radar a little bit and then suddenly burst onto the scene this season with his novice chase, chasing exploits, you know, that's his third win now. Go and chasing and Kim Bailey does very, very well. With chases. So yeah, I think they've done very well with this horse. I think he's not easier at all. Just looking at how he was in the prelims and things and he was very enthusiastic in the early parts of the races and I thought, my goodness, you can't jump position enthusiastically for three miles, but he didn't. He's outstayed them all, and yeah, he could have been very, very good performance. It's going to be day one of cheltenham for him. He is 12 to one for the national hunt chase. It's either that or the ultimate or a second favorite. So what would you do with them? Would you stay the handicapped rouge or would you go into greater company? Well, I mean, I think the national hunt challenge cup that race is a slog, isn't it really? Three months 6. I think he'd be better suited to something else to be honest. I think he, I think he's, as I said, he's very enthusiastic. Probably a bit classy as well. Quite classy, I think. I think if you can win a grade too like that, which for years, the trends were, oh, don't back horses who've won this at children. And then it changed. I think it was a John O'Neill horse who helped me out help me out with folks. This is John O'Neill who won this race and then went on and warned the jlt who became a bit of a legend. He kept on winning at the Shelton festival. He actually raced in the Trevor hemings. So why am I not remembering his name? Somebody helped me out. We'll send you a mug. By the way, I bought and fired the distributor. So you'll all everybody who won previously will have mugs coming soon. I paid for those. I was told they were delivered, and then I start getting messages from this and it was going my milk hasn't arrived. So yeah, apologies, but we're getting it sorted free and you'll have, you'll have your final formal podcast Mark. Coming to you this week or next week. So I'd like to see him I'd nearly go the national chase with him. I nearly go for that, but the ultimate could be there to be exposure. Who knows? But does he know, is definitely a horse who was very much under the radar, as you said, and he's going to be a gel and player. He will be a horse that we'll be talking about at children previews. More on that to come. So Molly Ollie's wishes ends up being pulled up, Thomas Darby. Warned you, pulled up a baton, pulled up. Third wind, my selection ends up being beaten 42 lengths. Top Phil Ben didn't perform at all. And holston ends up slamming them all by 13 links. At minimum 22 lengths for third wind, he's 11. A tremendous stuff singing bounce back like this. I'm particularly may I add that he was off the track since November 2020. Yeah, unbelievable. What was that 455 days off? The racecourse and I trust your math. Yeah. Thanks. Well, no, I think fantastic training points from Nigel twist and Dave was this horse is a horse who has some very, very good form in the book. Did you look down the years? I mean, he's run into his hurdles contention, he's a horse I've always liked in those sorts of divisions staying hurdles. So I thought, watching this race top ville Ben, I mean very rare appearance for him over hurdles, but I thought turning into the home straight, I thought the race was at his mercy, and I thought he was awesome to beat, but wholesome is just grinding it out. So for him to do that in those conditions, after a long layoff to be that fit, very, very impressive. I mean, this is a horse in the party. He has one handicap races off a very lofty Mark. I think he's one off a mark of a 158 in the past in a handicap hurdle. So nearly top weight, so he is used to these sorts of conditions, but this is very very good performance. I mean, I think a few people will be disappointed with them more wishes pulling up it's almost the first to pull up. He was pointing Thomas Derby was disappointing as well, but I think probably more wishes was the most disappointing given the fact that she was very fancy going to the race, has a lot going for her seemingly the future was looking bright for her. So they will be disappointed. I think with her performance, but holston is pulled out the fire and great day for the twist and David's guard. Far from an ideal preparation for money all these wishes. I know that things had gone wrong in the lead up to the race in that as she was being saddled. Her one of her Heinz shoes came off and the decision was made by down skeleton to remove the other one. And she was, I take into account the fact that she was carrying a 7 pound penalty against the geldings. And she's becoming brawled.

"Just because he's a bit more favor in the betting, but I would have to simultaneous because, look, he's won three, hasn't he this season, three on the bounce. I mean, their pipe was a couple more question marks over him just the fact that he's been beaten a couple of times and he's obviously had Windsor during returning, I think he had a little injury or something. So there's probably a couple more question marks with him, but I think the Cornelius looks from the improve. So perhaps he's a bit more value. There's a part of me is almost willing to back him to win the race. See you poo. And there's another part of me that just can't get away from adagio. So we'll see. We'll see how it plays out. Thank you. And the other one hasn't. That's true. That's true. That's true, yeah. It has the experience of being to the cheltenham festival and has the experience of also running in the great wood. And that can stand them in very good stead. The betfair ascot Chase went to Ireland. For Mark Walsh and Joseph O'Brien, he really had to dug it out, finally industrial back and third with two for gold in second. What did you make of the performance? Yeah, great, great performance, wasn't it? From faculty do destruct, but I think Pacquiao who? Sorry, I was faculty. We've got Fannie and the best of our in there as well, haven't we the Venetian William talks? Yes, we do yet. Well, he actually he actually ran pretty well. I thought, third, because he sat, he sat out the back into the whole race, but yeah, I thought this was a very solid performance from the Joseph Bryan horse back he did a degree and yeah, he justified favorites and didn't he? I mean, two for gold is running a tremendous race back in second at 25 to one. And he had that inside rail and I thought he had every chance. But yeah, factory has been, I'd say in his career a little bit underrated. I mean, he's put up some really solid performances in the past. Runs from tremendous races. He's won plenty of great races as well. So he does go under the radar a little bit either thought in my opinion anyway. But yeah, take nothing away from you, I think it's great Joseph Brian sent him over to ask Scott and he was justified favoritism. Yeah, and I thought the horse takes from it was, yeah, funny industrial, because initial William's horse and child Deutsche sat. So quiet at the back held up in Rio and he stormed home to finish third and there were only obviously only four finishes. So the rest of the horses pulled up. So it was really a tough going ask on today. So I think Jackie raised pulled it out the fire. And I think he definitely goes under the radar, I think, of it. It probably doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. Yeah, I'd agree with that. It's probably got something to do with the fact that he's just gotten annihilated by all. Not once, not twice three times. And people look at that and just go, yeah, yeah. But he wins his fair share. And he's an entry winner. I mean, he was very impressive at entry last year. And he was so heavily backed. And it makes me wonder what the thought process is going to be with fakir duty. Because he's made it, he's made an absolute meal at the second last. And yet has managed to battle and Mark watts deserves an enormous amount of credit for this as well. He just put his head down and battled. And he's got that strong headwind to fight against as well. And he still managed to prevail. And you can, yes, you can criticize it in the sense that what about the horses who dropped away tamely, like what about Austin translation, tax rasher and San caldes were fancied in the bedding. And did nothing. He can only beat what's put in front of him. Fanny industrial is a very solid form guide. He's got an official rating of one 62. He's a very, very solid art stick. And he's beaten him and he's beaten a 154 rated two for gold, who was rallying all the time. I think that helped him. I think it helped him focus. So would you go to childhood and take on alo again and bid for glory or would you wait and just try and win back to back melling chase as an entry? Well, this is what you said like you said, I think the downfall of this whole traffic area has been alejo. His biggest rival. But there are because Idaho is definitely going to go for the Ryanair. I think there's no other race seller has them go for. Well, unless the school cup, but I don't think he's going to that. And then I mean, pretty similar, it's exactly to be honest, because to me, that's his ideal trip because he doesn't quite say three miles, I don't think, well, in my opinion, anyway, and he's obviously a great one winner over two and a half miles and aren't really that many choices for him. So it looks as though he would, if he does go check, he would have to line up against aloha. And you think, why not? I mean, given the way he's won at the weekend, he looks in good form. So suppose how he comes out this race, as I said, the end downfall that source is the fact that he's going to have to take on alejo again. He's beaten him so many times already in his career. Yeah, I think you're right. Look, maybe you go to cheltenham because you should never be afraid of one horse and certainly going there with chantry house last year. Taking on envoy on whenever one, including me, thought he couldn't be beaten and Downey comes at the second. The second or third, either way. It didn't quite go to plan. So you can't be afraid of one horse, but allaho was just a Lahore was devastating. A chart on last year. And there is no reason to think that he won't be the very same this time around. And everything that he's done this year leads you to that conclusion as well. So I think he's one of the most solid favorites of the entire festival. He probably won't go to any tree. So if you want to go to cheltenham, go. But entry is where you stand your better chance of winning. In terms of the disappointments of the race and fair play to Joseph O'Brien because as it was pointed out by both Rory and Melissa, flying over or getting the boat over whatever it is you were doing, that's not going to be easy in those conditions and we saw how difficult it was for airplanes to land at Heathrow and the damage that was done. So a well done to the tracks for getting the racing to go ahead and be well done for getting horse over from Ireland experiencing that either rough seas or turbulence and succeeding. The Paul Nichols factor we need to talk about. Because San calvados has been moved to the nickels yard. By case and Andrew Brooks,.

"And adagio are the two horses and 5 year olds and champion hurdles warning alert. But this is, it's gonna be a small field. I mean, it's a small field as it is. And a lot of these sources are just not going to turn up. Like, can you see us rocking up to the champion hurdle on the back of that? No, I mean, I was blown away with him, it felt last year in the JCB. Me too. Yeah, so I kind of thought he had everything going the right way for him at Shelton last year and he was two to one. And I actually bet on him that day I was pretty pleased with the price because he wasn't favorite but I thought he would he would go on from that and he's in the unfortunately he hasn't. So to me he doesn't look too much of a danger for, well, certainly for honeysuckle anyway. It's quite remarkable to have the second that does you has progressed in the manner that he has. Lumping top boys in a great wooden just being denied. Damn you Dan skilled. Damn you cool alexius and Lucy rosalie Hughes as well for screw me out of my drawing for a little bit. But burning performance from cool, who had just joined Henry bromhead, pairing in mind. But again, Henry sources don't just throw in and out. This is becoming a bit more of a concern now because we're getting closer to cheltenham. So the pole nickels thing is also becoming more of a concern because we're getting closer to cheltenham. It's now a.

"Then went on to win the champion. Yeah, I mean, he justified of Justin, didn't he tear poo and to be fair, and you mentioned their previous winners of this race. I thought in all honesty, it was a pretty good contest for a greater, although a couple of the horses, their form is a little bit questionable, but they're good names in themselves, aren't they? If you look at the likes of clicks in the os. Sadler and Felix Jersey, there's G they're all courses in the past that have, you know, they've done themselves justice on the race course, I think. So but the winner is a horse very much on the improve. I think the other horse I just mentioned never their form is a little bit questionable and they sort of gone down in grade, whereas this force to me looks like he's on the up on the improvement and going up in grades, whereas the rest of the field unfortunately have lost their way a bit. It's one of the most disappointing horses for me, given the fact that he was a child and festival when a last season, he pretty much walked away, didn't he with the winner cheltenham last season as a four year old, so in the JCB and to be fair, he has disappointed me since. So I think tier two is very much on the improve yet very much going the right way. Whereas I think the rest of the field are going the other way, if you see what I mean, but I think the show well, he's out there pretty much all the way around, but what I was impressed with most was his tennis foot from the last hurdle to the winning line. So that's what impressed me most with him. With the greatest respect to everybody else, I mean, honey circle obviously sets an incredibly high bar and a phenomenally high standard. She's a champion Harlow winner. She's a three time Irish champion of the winner. The standard that she sets is phenomenal. Outside of her does not really that much to fear, and I include appreciated in that for the reasons I gave. So tipo.

"I'm hi everyone, the activity back. Great to have you back. Particularly given the fact that you have written out for Richard Faye, one of the best trainers in the UK and Ireland, also the fact that you are retraining a racehorse so that will all come into play a little bit later on with a certain topic, but we'll begin with goshen. The enigma that is goshen, but is worried that argue said on the show on Thursday, but he's not on anything we go in right handed. Jamie Moore said to said on racing TV that he turned to Tom scooter more two out, which proves jockeys do talk to each other during races. You've got me. And yet Gaussian managed to rally and get the job done. What did you make of his performance overall? And for that matter, of adagio. Yeah, well, first of all, goshen was superb again, wasn't he. He's come out and one again. And he's come out and want to get encrypted session because it wasn't that long ago that he won at sand down and got back on the store sheet. So delighted for the Moors and delighted for everybody involved this horse because I think whilst they're winning, they can hopefully carry on and I think that's the momentum that he's got now goes in. I mean, he won this race and he last year by 22 lengths obviously a bit of a shorter margin. This time around, but I mean, he dictated, didn't he and he jumped, he jumped pretty well on the whole and he was just able to make all the running and yeah, never seen another rival, although the horse back in second, as you mentioned there, Tom skewed them all. Pretty confident. And he wasn't beating that far. David pike talks and I think all roads now lead to cheltenham for that horse and they seem pretty confident about his chances. So that's quite an interesting sort of thing to take from the race I thought, but yeah, I got him back on someone once again and it was great to see. Yeah. I mean, we have to put into context adagio is coming into this on the back of a 97 day break where he finished second under a welterweight in the great wood. And I believe that the stables Lake horses out for races all the time. But it was a brilliant training performance from Dan skeleton to win that race. And it had been the plan. They were working west cork to that race for quite some time. So we know what adagio is. I don't think there's any issue with what he's done. The intriguing thing about all of this is that he was 7 to one without. For the champion hurdle. He closed to 5 to one, after we talked about him on the final furlong. And Rory said, the best thing to do really is it look ocean is going to win this. So when adagio gets beaten, they'll drift them, then back. He closed the force. It's further proof. We know you're the colloquy team always listen, but we know you're listening on its compilers. And do you think that his champion hurdle claims were enhanced on the back of this virtue? Well, yeah, I mean, well, I'll say yes, because bearing in mind, I think he's pretty short price and enough as it isn't he for the champion hurdle. So he certainly sorted in price so people would think that it has enhanced his credentials and what you'd have to think of is how confident the team have come on the back of his second place behind goshen here. I mean, David parks come out, hasn't he and spoken about how all these children, they're very, very positive. I mean, all being well, he's also got to get there in one piece. And I think the fact that he has had that injury or something that held him up in the past, they are obviously mindful of how, well, he's going to go into chat and obviously monitor his training up until then. But yeah, I think for me, I get the impression that the team are very, very confident and perhaps people have taken that on board as well because his price is short enough, I'd have thought in the champion hurdle market. Yeah, best price you can get now is 16. He was 33 is not that long ago. And I've said it all along all this season that I think he's the each way back in the race. And I'm very intrigued by goshen is what goshen is. Steve pakman said that the gelding could go up in distance again next time. And possibly be switched to fences next season? Sure, Jamie Moore can't waste. Obviously he's going to be keeping to write on the tracks. And it's nice that the ability is there that the ability remains intact because sometimes you'll know this very well when horses go through phases of being hammered, you're being beaten. They'll start to down tools, or they'll start to get a little bit depressed at the fact that that's what's going on. Like you were conquering all. And now you're not. But now we know that this is always who just does not want to go left handed. It's as simple as that. He doesn't want to do that. So as you said, he beats on for someone 22 lengths in this race last year. After that they went to cheltenham, you'll remember he took the white course. It was like watching Jack recoup corn park. But the wrong rail that came over to punch us down, that didn't work. Which should have. He was tried up and trip. They've dropped him in trip and he ended up getting beaten both times at ascot 11 lengths in 18 links, respectively. He was beaten in a three runner race, but it was a lot more like it behind Bruno for storm. And then he bowls up in the stupid contenders hurdle. But this is much more like it, I think. This is a stronger race, a more solid race. And I'm delighted for them. It's great for them that he's back in the winters enclosure, but intriguing that there are two graduates of the triumph fertile goshen won't go for the champion adagio will, and I think him coming in fresh, this was his second run after a wind off. I think he's a player. I think he's a big player. And clearly, Gordon Elliott feels the same thing about Tia poo. Now we have to get his pronunciation. Somewhat right, because it varies from country to country. But I believe it's tipu. So we'll go with that. He ends up winning the red mills trial by 11 lengths. Real talk disappointed appreciated didn't line up here? I thought that he might and considering that appreciated it is the four to one second favorite for the champion hurdle. And Willie Mullins has come out and said, well, we're just going to get them ready at home. Willy's a genius. He trained penhill to win the stairs hurdle first time out. He tried Cova to win 5 mayors hurdles first time out. The first one she won had she had a prep. So 6 in total but 5 first time out. No horses ever won the champion hurdle on their season of appearance. And he was meant to go and that was chasing and that had to be aborted. So I don't like his prep and I don't like his prize. I like the horse. But in this instance, don't like his prep, don't like the way things are. Tipu was the one who got the plot. It's the best price you can get about him. Is tens. It would very few. It's there, but it's with very few. He's generally 8s. How impressed were you with tipu? And bear in mind, this is a race where hardy eustace finished second beaten ash the shortest of short heads,.

"The dress Republicans have already attacked our capital Attacks state capitals Infiltrator are schoolbooks Chaos I reject them saying that they're coming for me that I need to beg for mercy And harassed our kids Now they have their target on Virginia On your kids on your family This is Glen youngins Republican Party This election was a fraud And if he's elected no Virginia is safe My stuff sponsored this ad No virginians safe The same Terry mcauliffe who twice his question of elections with George W. Bush and Donald Trump No virginians safe from what See it's a majority Democrat state now so he's running to scare his own party And I would ask the Democrats out there Is this what you want Does this sound like a leader Does this sound like a statesman He's a sleaze well So he had a rally Friday and they invited this rapper Farrah Williams you know the happy song that we played from time to time here In Farrah Williams shows up and really makes a mockery of the entire event cut to go We have to keep that same energy So I'm not here to tell you to vote for a person or vote for a party I'm asking you to vote and be a part of the process of being a virginian Oh Well I don't think that's what Terry McCullough wanted to hear Do you mister producer Then Terry McCullough's on meet the depressed Which Mark Todd fellow Democrats cut three go So governor what about that you feel as if you were taken out of context Do you feel as if everything you said there should reassure parents that they have some say in their kids schooling Listen that was about a bill IV toad which people were very happy that I vetoed the bill that literally parents could take books out of the curriculum You know I love million Jack McCall my parents but they should not have been picking my math or science book We have experts who actually do that And look what happened He is closing his campaign on banning books It's created a controversy all over the country He wants to ban Tony Morrison's book beloved So he's going after one of the most preeminent African American female writers in American history won the Nobel Prize as Presidential Medal of Freedom and he wants her books banned Now of all the hundreds of books he doesn't want her books man This is ridiculous And he's not even challenged I wonder how many copies of American Marxism are in the public school libraries today are they have that has that book been banned mister producer Has it been banned I wonder How many are in the high schools all across this country I'll bet none So the Democrats do this all the time Now folks do you want experts picking the books What does that mean experts picking the book Who are the experts Who are the expert book pickers Now I know that Democrats have expert nose pickers but do they have expert book pickers And I could go beyond that but I won't Other body appendages But still They have expert book pickers For the lie and doing a great job so far all kinds of pornography and anti americanism and racist books the expert book pickers Are people pushing critical race theory People pushing transgenderism as a movement People undermining American history They used to the expert book pickers Now nobody says parents should be they're picking all the books But parents should be involved in the process That is If somebody's going to pick a book an expert book picker and that book is unbelievably outrageous Pornographic and so forth more and more of that crap is showing up Yes the parents should be involved The Terry mcauliffe doesn't agree And he goes on me that the press to misleads the people watching you says you know my wife and I had 5 kids So of course we support the school system in Virginia No he doesn't For those 5 went the private school I have no problem with that I have no problem with people going to private school but they do Particularly if they're poor Go ahead Why did you take the one black female author Why did you do it He's ending his campaign See what I mean He just trying to create the impression that this man is a racist And young can is no such thing There is no support for this whatsoever So according to Terry mcauliffe if we play along if a black person writes an offensive book or a book that attacks the country that stays because if you oppose it then you're after black people Terry McCullough does not want to run against Glen junkie He wants to run against an imaginary candidate that he creates He creates the narrative He doesn't want to run Against Glenn young He wants to run against a concoction Go ahead Just like he started the campaign when he talks about election integrity But chuck we have a great school system and Virginia Dorothy and I have raised our 5 children Of course parents are involved in it And you see chuck doesn't know enough to say wait a minute We know you raised your 5 children but 90% of them didn't go what I should say four out of 5 So that's 80% of them didn't go To the public school system why not Terry mcauliffe why didn't they go to the public It would be very you say you support it You want to be governor a second time quality education is the number one issue Go ahead Should be could extreme Republican bill that would allow parents to take books off of shelves Should that be left to the hands of the parents or should it be saying parents should come in the libraries and take books off the shelves Look how he's twisted everything because he's twisted He's the one that said parents should not be involved in making decisions about their schools And now its parents going into the library removing books Now we all know the book burners are on the left We all know the monument destroys her on the left We all know That those destroying American history are economic system are simmering They're all on the left.
