Firefighter Cancer: Diane Cotter Describes Her Husband's Harrowing Diagnosis
"Diane Carter is a self -taught citizen activist who's upright focused and determined efforts in support of her husband fire lieutenant Paul Carter during and after their battle against Paul's occupational cancer served as the inspiration for the documentary Burned protecting the protectors by filmmaker Elijah Yetter Bowman and award -winning actor Mark Ruffalo executive producer. Diane is the ultimate standard bearer a smart outspoken and fearless woman who continues to march at the head of her six -year campaign to remove PFAS forever chemicals from the gear worn by today's firefighters. No less an authority that Ed Kelly general president of the IAFF has properly called Diane Carter the firefighter's hero. The firefighters hero that's uh some big big shoes to fill so Diane tell us your story first of all welcome thanks for being with us I actually watched a movie yesterday that you sent us and I had to pause several times because I was so overwhelmed and so pissed off a couple times good um yeah so we'll talk about the movie but first tell us your story can you give us your background a little bit sure thank you I'm glad to meet you ladies finally in person big follower of the show I love it I love what you do I love that spouses and significant others are involved because um that's what I am that's all that I am it's a it's a fire wife I have no formal education I did get my hairdressers license some years ago and I was the worst hairdresser in the world so I didn't go far but I stayed at home and raised our children until they were about 10 and 11. Paul got on the fire department in 1988 when our son was two months old and our daughter was 18 months old our son is now a firefighter in the same department my husband served at now works in the same station in Worcester they had a beautiful beautiful life we embraced everything that we loved about the fire service his friends became my friends their wives became my my best friends we vacation with them etc. Paul had spent 25 years on the rescue in Worcester he had a 28 -year career at age 55 he decided it was time to climb the ladder so he took the lieutenant's exam and he made lieutenant and he was pretty disappointed because that meant that he'd leave his crew and he had worked with this crew you know on the same shift for 25 years they'd gone through a lot together the Worcester warehouse fire they've gone through so much together at any event we went on vacation with our firefighter families to moosehead lake up in maine and we came back to a beautiful ceremony in Worcester city hall when my husband was promoted to lieutenant along with one of his best buddies and the rescue saw him off and it was wonderful Paul was getting ready getting prepared to go back on to a new rig and he had an appointment to see a doctor because he was going in for cataract surgery his pre -exam showed that he had just a very slightly elevated number in his psa for prostate he had that check regularly as he did a lot of checks for his health because he was a very fitness aware person at any event he did get the call to come in they wanted a biopsy and i thought nothing about a biopsy because to look at him he literally looked like a 45 -year -old at 55 he was very fit very very strong and the picture of health we went to the doctor's office and i can remember that day because i was just so adamant to get this over with this appointment because i had things to do and we were making small talk with the doctor and we were in the tiny doctor's office room the exam room and out of nowhere the doctor said yep it's cancer and in that moment that moment i can remember because i remember i screamed and i fell into the chair and Paul who's almost six feet tall he broke out in this sweat all over his body i could just see the beads of sweat come out from everywhere on him and he sunk into a chair he tore his shirt off and he sunk into a chair and i can remember the doctor talking for 45 minutes and i'm crying and Paul's looking at me looking at the doctor looking at me looking at the doctor and we didn't hear a word he said

"Clearly a lot of moving parts underneath and we're also going to talk about another company that is moving quite a bit or at least when it comes to headlines. 3M 3M shares finished down on the day bucking the overall rise in the market down 1.1%. The company is we know confronting a lot of regulatory pressure and lawsuits that threaten billions of dollars in damages related to its pfas forever chemicals. Now it says it's going to stop making these forever chemicals and look to discontinue their use in products by the end of 2025. Let's bring in Tiffany Carrey a consumer reporter for Bloomberg news who wrote about this. Tiffany was this a surprise that 3M is going to stop producing pfas forever chemicals by this particular timeline end of 2025. I think it did catch some people as surprised. I mean, the pressure has been on this company for a really long time, but you know, at some point, I guess they just decided to act. Can you step back a little bit and tell me what a forever chemical is. I feel like I should know what pfas is, but full disclosure, I don't they sound important, but how often would someone like me, for example, interact with one of these chemicals in my daily life? What are they used in? Yeah, I mean, every day, that's the crazy thing about these. They're not only forever chemicals. They're kind of everywhere chemicals. And it's mind boggling, actually, when you look at the list. So they're both used in consumer products that are stain proof, waterproof, so think of your rain jacket or your waterproof running shoes, your waterproof leather, boots. They were used in scotchgard for a long time. And they're also used in a lot of industrial applications like medical devices, solar panels, often they're used to make things smooth or slippery. So that's the connection. And how much pressure was there from consumers for 3M two to get out of this chemical to do something? Yeah, I think consumers are not even necessarily wear so much of the chemicals, but a lot of the environmental groups and the lawsuits are really where the pressure was coming from. I mean, this company has been sued by many different states, along with a lot of co defendants that use these chemicals by water authorities in different municipalities and states. And yeah, I mean, even California just got on even a bit late and soothe them just this year. I feel like this is like a Hollywood movie and further down in Tiffany's story. It was. Yes, dark waters. Mark Ruffalo. I think was in that movie? That's right. And he just actually put out a statement today calling this maybe, you know, the environmental crisis of our lifetimes, you know, a lot of people have compared these to DDT. But what's interesting here is that 3M did phase out some of these chemicals, 20 years ago, and that is what led to these lawsuits that we have today. And at that time, it kind of said, those aren't dangerous. And other people continue to contest that. And we've seen the lawsuits come and some of them have been successful. Some of them continue. And then today they're saying we're going to phase out the rest of these chemicals all types of these chemicals, which is what the environmental advocates have asked for. Yet because they're forever chemicals, they're still out there. No one has really a plan yet how to deal with them and it's not clear what the final liability is going to be. And well, let's talk about what the final liability could be. We don't know exactly Bloomberg intelligence has put some numbers to it. How much this could actually cost 3M walk us through them. Well, they have said 30 to 40 billion. It's really hard to which is a huge number, obviously, and I believe there are some legal briefs for 3M has said, look, you know, some of these lawsuits are so aggressive, they would just put us out of business. So clearly, there's a lot of work that needs to be done to figure out what the final number is going to be. And that's going to play out in a bunch of different court cases. Over a long time span. For anyone who has a Bloomberg terminal, there's a function on the terminal called and I quick, which gives you a quick explainer on things like forever chemicals. And there's one on pfas forever chemicals. Pfas are in scotchgard in Teflon. That's kind of disturbing, Teflon, because I just tough on all the time. Exactly. When I make her make the Teflon, I believe it's always been said they're not in the end product. It's one of those industries. Although there's some weird questions about what happens when you eat Tesla on up too much. I know I'm not people are cooking with it. You know, some of it scrapes off too. So just not to add appeal to the fire or anything, but certainly just things I'm thinking about. Our analysts going to be downgrading their estimates you think for 3M because of this, I bring this up because obviously there are a lot of people waiting for an investment to come down given the slowing economy, given the projections that the Federal Reserve will continue to raise interest rates because they see inflation being a persistent problem through 2023. That's something I don't have visibility into, but I do think what's interesting is

"Oh. We did this movie back in February for our RomCom series. Am I crazy? That don't remember that. Man, I don't know either. Okay, give me a second. Okay. Because it's weird. It's like, I'm getting to that point now to offer get certain movies. We've watched so many movies. Yeah. And imagine multiply that by two or three, you got like how many I've reviewed. It's crazy. But I think I would have been more intrigued. By that. Kind of remember what we watched for where it's like, what was that? But you know what I'm talking about, right? Yeah. Okay, so February we did, as good as it gets. Long shot, super bad. City of angels talk amongst yourselves. City of angels, when that? No, city vengeance is the one where the cage is angel. Yeah. 1970 four? What? Oh God, yeah. So anyway, I enjoyed it, but I was curious to see, like, I enjoyed it in like a you said. I don't know if I could recommend it. How was your second time watching it though? Did JoJo watch it? No, she did not. And I didn't think she would enjoy it. I think she would see that Twitter. Did Bailey watch it? No. Did Joan watch it? No. Oh. Well, see, that tells you something. Three of the females that could have, we all screamed. Did your dad watch it? I think he had seen part of it before. But, I mean, I was just curious, just like heaven? We didn't, I don't think we did that one. But anyway, I liked it, but not enough to recommend it, put it that way. And I want to see if anybody's, I want to see if you guys could pull my opinion one way or the other on it. So, but you guys kind of land into the same area where I did. There wasn't anybody who was like, oh my God, it's the worst movie ever made or the one that you might like. This is great. It's a classic. Yeah. Definitely my classic, not the worst ever made. I think it is just like heaven. But it was like, with Reese Witherspoon? And Mark Ruffalo, we did a pot over that though. We definitely talked about potting on it. We might not have watched it. I definitely watched this movie. Oh, Reese. Because she's a skipped, maybe because she's a doctor, right? And he is going to her hospital. It sounds familiar. I don't know if I've seen it. Am I the only one that watched it? So I was like, I just watched this on my own. Hold on. Was this one of your picks that month and we were just like, Sean? No, nobody's gonna lie. And that you just wrote it down, and then I'm gonna search our texts. But anyway, this has been another episode of cinema Pinot.

"Quick summary. What is pass over that? So quick summary here. Series follows the Jennifer Walters, who is Bruce banner's cousin. She's accidentally exposed to gamma irradiated blood and transforms similarly into a giant green creature of great strength and durability. And much of this first episode that we're talking about centers on her being mentored by Mark Ruffalo who plays the smart hulk version of the hulk on how to responsibly wield the power that she now has. So, and basically, it kind of like the other we're going to talk about House of dragon. A lot of this is just kind of set the table for later stuff. And I think that's fine. I think that's marvel's new template like you can understand of the series is the setup and the movie down the road to the payoff. That's where you get and yeah, you have to be along for it or you're not. You either are, you aren't. It's like watching Spider-Man, no way home or whatever. Where it's like, Matt Murdock shows up. It's like, if you don't watch the Netflix series, you're going to be lost. No, but I don't think you're lost just by Matt Murdock showing up. I think that's an Easter egg, whereas this is like, you're going to have to know who she is. Otherwise, you're going to get lost when she turns to the hulk and you're like, where did that come from? Or like miss marvel? It's like you have to watch a series to really understand how much she shows up in. Yeah, I think there's a big difference between an Easter egg and a whole backstory. Yeah. Yes, we have a whole backstory on Matt Murdock. And I think we'll get some more of them in the series. But if nobody watched any of the Netflix series and all they watched were the movies, the theatrical. If all they watch is no way home. Yeah. I think they'd be fine. Yeah, they're fine. I know, I'm just speaking from my perspective as a fan of I would get frustrated knowing that all these Easter eggs were sailing by and I'm not getting them.

"He was another one that evaded police for a long time. He also used the same cryptic toying with the cops. And it's crazy like take out him via like an old disk drive. They basically hacked one of the disk drives. He's sent in and he didn't realize the technology could do what it could, essentially. They were able to put him with his church. There was an old bit of data from his church where he was like a deacon or something. Which is brings me to one question I asked my wife. My wife's a huge true crime fan. Podcasts, everything. She's a big, like, was it margarita, like my favorite murder? Yeah. Murder squad. She listed all that stuff. And the thing that gets me is like, if there is truly like, they believe 20 suspected kills for this guy. How is there no DNA anywhere? And any of these crime scenes that they could try and trace. Yeah. Well, and I think before DNA was really a big part of crime, it wasn't well cared for in crime scene. It's kind of like fingerprints. Like prior to when fingerprints were part of solving crimes, they just didn't preserve that piece of it. And also DNA evidence is not as reliable as shows like CSI make us think. Yeah. So I think zodiac is one that it happened in so many different municipalities across such a long period of time. That it's really hard to collect all the data. And that's one of the things that made it hard to track serial killers back in the 60s and 70s was these different municipalities weren't working together. So we saw it in the movie of calling around all the different precincts that had a crime, like trying to figure out some sort of common thread when Mark Ruffalo is calling and he's just like, oh, no, you've got to call this guy and he's like, oh no, you got to call this guy..

I don't know what you're going to do. I don't know how we're all going to get through our night. You know, I don't want to think about not seeing Mark Ruffalo get up and make a fucking political speech about something nonsensical, which he always does. I don't want to see Lady Gaga. Clamoring for an award for the House of Gucci actually, I kind of wanted to see that just to laugh because she was awful at what she did. But now, we're not going to be able to.

"Duck? What the hell? Well, George Lucas. It was heavy Spider-Man in your stable, with having Fantastic Four Iron Man. The ones that have all now become ultra popular are first oops. Thank God blade came out. You know, it's part of what I'm talking about in my conflict. Movie history is thank God Blake came out and legitimized that maybe the marvel body of work, you know, that they have this incredible mythology that is very cinematic and you could make it into movies without making any money, not if they die at the box office like how are deducted? Yeah, I fear for the eternals. And if they're putting it as a linchpin for this next phase and the next group and it's supposed to be super important, I don't feel they've set that up. I fear somebody is like, hey, they love all our stuff. So just put it out. I don't know. Because the other problem is Black Widow was so so. Shang-Chi was really good, but not necessarily as memorable as some of the earlier movies arguably. And the TV shows were really good. And I love the TV shows. But the I know they went to the high with endgame. So you have to start low again and build back up. We have all new people. I get all that. But I don't think they've been coming out of the stable after two years and just pow pow and everybody's talking about it. And loving it and the stuff. It's been so, so. And I fear that the eternals is going to kill things in their struggle to get back up. Even though Spider-Man's right after that. That's kind of what I'm hoping is that if you think that, you know, all the marvel movies that went into Avengers Endgame, they weren't all great. The first couple hulks were pretty stinky. They kept story and without the magic actor that was going to make it work like Mark Ruffalo has done. Iron Man, first one great second one, not so good, third one. No, maybe second one good third one now. They kind of went downhill. You know what I mean? Looks like that's just not a good enough villain, even played by usually a real scenery chewer in terms of why I lost his name. Darn it. Danny or something like that. Yeah. Machete. Maybe it was Gary Oldman Gary Oldman. Was that the type of played Russian so, by the way, I just watched the professional and it's one of the best movies I've ever ever professional Gary Oldman sorry Leon, which is, why am I showing Reno and Natalie Portman as like the waif that is far too old for her, right? So back to this, I hope that we'll have that same thing that maybe we'll have a couple misfires and that.

So i thought we would just start with my favorite question to ask any cinematographer who comes on the show. Which is what was the moment in your life where it first occurred to you. That cinematography was a career that you could pursue i. I always like hearing about when people i thought about like. Oh i could do that. Yes well. I went to school for an electrical engineer and i graduated by my whole life. I dance. I was part of a big company. My country in ones. I was offered to be the choreography for socal brat on The network of my country. So then i start working you know having to curb graft for tv. And then i start is very different when you dance for an audience that when you do it for the camera so i start sitting next to the p and i started learning in trying to make it as for the cameras and see what was best for it. So that's where my like. My lawford begun i To him every day in he would explain lighting and camera work. And i knew right away that i wanted to make that shift. And then what was transitioned in with like trying to find a place to score for. I worked on an american movie and the crew and i left everything behind and came to the states in here. I oh what movie was it. It's called grena wedding. it's i can remember. The comedy at the crew was from miami but made it to theaters and all that but Well i've always been interested in filmmaking. Since i was a kid and i always made kind of like the family home movie documentarian so i kind of started in that way but i guess when i.

I'm like oh who drinks ri- rose so he orders that and then leo doesn't take anything i think it was just like Whatever you guys like that. Like a seltzer water. Whatever yeah club soda. So that's all that dr jeremiah. Need to hear for him to start like dissecting. Oh you don't drink alcohol. He's like. I thought everyone in your profession. Alcohol also very judgy little intense comma down. And then leo like snaps back and he says that like he thought. Every psychiatrist was a drunk. And i'm like okay getting a little rough. Yeah we are and now. Dr jeremiah's like acknowledging his defense mechanism and he's like talking about how like men are naturally violent and lack very intense like. Yeah why is everybody attacking each other right now. Can we not have a conversation. Apparently we can't. I don't know. I don't know so teddy starts having more flashbacks about some kind of ambush of some kind at this military base. Possibly and there are people like rummaging through papers and like there's a guy laying dead on the ground like from a head wound and it was really cool like they have like papers just kind of flying around the whole time. Yeah it was kind of cool. It's like he keeps having flashbacks of world war two watson training camps nazis. So this flashback year. We're starting to be like okay. He was a u s army that fought in world. War two so yeah. He's got some massive pta. Yes so whatever's happening in this psych ward. He's walking through. It is triggering him to have these memories of things he saw in a concentration camp or while they were like trying to get nazis. And all this stuff so. These are the flashbacks that we're seeing the movie. Oh god there's some of them are heavy real heavy. Yeah so dr jeremiah keeps poking teddy and he kind of loses it and says that he wants all of the personnel files released to them so that they can look over them and they tell him no and then he puts his festival table because apparently he can't like no anger management. But i mean just channeling to the table. Dangerous for everybody. Yes and he threatens to leave in the morning the investigation will and he's heading onto the ferry and he's out in the morning right but second do so they're scored squirted to the orderlies quarters. Where they're going to be sleeping. Yeah and the marshalls talk to each other and discuss not being told the truth once foot on the island and that rachel had helped getting out. Sheriff like there was no way that right up. She can't just disappear into thin thing so when teddy goes asleep he has a dream about this conversation that he had with his wife And she has confronted him about his drinking problem. Yup and tells him that she still here rachel..

Okay was on the other side of the island. Maybe leave asking because one of the nurses telling his information because they were in a group. Therapy session asians. Rachel was and that nurse was there and he's asking her specifically like did anything unusual happen and she has a very sarcastic remark. A mental institution marshall criminally insane. Usual isn't a big part of our day. And the rest of the staff just thinks it's giggle. He is not amused. No he's like. This is my job. I need to find out from. I need people to take a series like bitch visit serious but she said nothing memorable happen now in there. She complained that it was raining too much. And how terrible the food was there. So i guess nothing out of their normal. Can't imagine that the food would be good. No when these are living conditions. There is no way the food is good. No not at all so teddy. Says that he wants to speak with this doctor. She and then they go and try to reach him but all the lines are apparently down of course and calls can't be made out and i was thinking to myself. This is very dangerous. Yeah this is kind of like. What's the god damn. It never mind. Because i can't remember the movie descri- in the hotel. Oh the shining shining. It's kinda like that where you can't call out. That's not real. You're trapped right. Yeah that's not no and literally caprio mark ruffalo or not really like seemingly sketched out by this because again like it's a two of them and banking zagorski operator and he's like oh well you know. I guess we can't make any calls. He'll try again the morning. Let's keep going. And i'm like okay. Well the doctor is very nonchalant this entire time and the two of them are like not skeptical enough for me. It's just weird like entrepreneur. It's like twilight zone. So the doctor takes the two marshals to wear the docklands. Yeah and he says that it was constructed during the civil war and it was actually the commander's quarters of course it's very elite. It's got i elaborate. Nice finishes and they're very over the top. Yes got of course. He's retiring his quarters after he makes his rounds for his cigars. So he's like giving them a tour of this place while he's like smoking a cigar and it's a huge fireplace with like a fire going and i'm like this is elaborate. It's a lot it's a lot. Yeah so teddy. Ends up having another. Quick flashback about people standing in the freezing cold long this barbed wire fence and so that's that for his. Little flashback Another character dr jeremiah. Who is sitting in a tall wingback chair next to this fireplace. Smoking a cigar. Yeah teddy and him kind of go back and forth and because he's psychoanalyzing and have really leah yo says yeah dr year bisecting he's like barry what did i i called it a. He's he's psychiatry. "Maybe we'll find out more about it in the she hulk series because we do know mark ruffalo. we'll be showing up in endgame. We find out like we thought that he was kinda like permanently fused with with hall and became professor hulk. There's his quote an endgame. he says for years. I treated the hulk like some kind of disease. Something to get rid of. And i started looking at him as the cure. Eighteen months in the gamma lab. I put the brains and brian together and now look at me. Best of both worlds so I can understand you having a problem with june. But i don't think that they're just gonna like not explain this. I yeah i think you should be the sounds like that whole thing and endgame. I just sound like that was so he works. Use those five years between the snap and then even to end game like he put everything into resolving the hulk And coming to this. And i thought that was a great fitting. I guess evolution of the of the of the character in the sure in the comics like they've gone through so many different storylines becomes mr fix and and times he's been separated from you. Know there's been bruce and there's been the hulk separated so two entities living at the same time. They've done so much with this character. i just i. I never thought for a moment that we're never gonna get the raging hulk monster again. I've always kind of thought that there's going to be evolutions with this care going forward in the movies and i don't know there's there's theories out there as to what happened. We're not going to know until they start to answer this future films. And maybe disney plus series. But there's the theory that after the snap that slowly the gamma radiation kind of like left his system and that gets us to the she hulk series with you know maybe jennifer walters does need like this lifesaving. Blood transfusion like like in the comics and he. He believes that all the is out of his system. So it's safe to give her this blood transfusion and he does and and guess what they he was totally wrong in that moment and now his cousin is the she hulk and and he's still the hulk so and he's not done being hulk mark ruffalo was seen on the set of she hawk with mo cap dots on his face. He's coming back as the hulk. I'm one hundred percent convinced that maybe doctor strange was able to use some sort of like magic. Maybe doctor stranger wong was maybe able to use some sort of like magic to get him back to his human form for some reason. I don't know there's a lot of you guys have any theories. I have no idea like. I'm just. I'm just throwing things out all this sorry asarco hits maybe marvel just run out of their special effects budget. I don't know they got money for days de got money got money for days. They want us to ask this question of why he is human bruce banner when we saw this mid credit scene. They didn't know. I think that he can go back and forth and and being that his arm is still in a sling. Maybe it's just easier for him to get medical care as a human. Yeah i..

"Oh yeah that we saw and i. i don't know if it's even available anywhere like hey it's pretty hidden that hidden thing and so they're bringing it in. It was bizarre to see mark ruffalo version of hulk As part of that. But what do you do. You can't bring in ed norton. You can't have him voiced it over because that would be confusing so yeah it was. It was cool. I think was a neat reference for us fans who've and because that's one of the most hidden of the marvel movies like you've gotta really be out of your going out of your way to to watch that movie but it was neat to see and then he died in. Yeah mary wondering i'm interesting. Tv fourteen and they got it. That'll do it. Moreels thoughts nissan pop like 's it. I was proud to say popped like is. It didn't expect it when he started to blow up. I'm like they're not gonna go there and they can't go surely surely it's going to be like offscreen or some now. They showed it twice the are. I kept wondering how it's possible to kill to kill hawk. And i guess that's it. Arches heart komo. They could have made that a lot. More gory surprisingly. He's green all the way through. Where's the. I'm pretty sure. I've seen him bleed before and it's it's red on nuit air. Come on that was shocking scene. That was i mean it was interesting. It showed that revelation. Thank you yes anyway all week showing that like these. The avengers are not so infallible. Or whatever and that's not the word but you know what i mean and then next thing we see invincible. The next thing we see is lucky. Key show up. Hey with this army of as guardians and thors buddies. I don't remember their names. I know sieve was was in there and then the other ones sitting the gangs game. But they showed up to avenge his brother's death and stuff and loki brought out. Remember what that thing's called but it's not let me stop and think about where the four movie is in this time in this moment loki has already betrayed odin and thor at this point he in the tower move. He took rain he is. Thor wasn't there to stop. Loki from killing owed and all the way so lucky now rules as i don't remember the first movie at all. Well we just a couple of weeks that doesn't but off that movie the cinematography still okay but yeah so. There's nothing stopping. Nothing's stopping. Basically that i had later. I was like how the heck was he able to convince the as guardians to take over mid guard in this case. Because he's the leader now so okay. Well thank you the middle earth reference. Yes in this one where they all show up. And i think was was it Colson he's like they look like they're from middle earth. That's funny call was a lot of fun. There like e dictators like are they from around here. he's like maybe middle earth. So yeah. no you're right. Colson was it was fun to have. What's his name. I can't remember park playing him in this in this again it was it was great..

"I'm here with my man. Greg Romero Wilson so I just got back from Reno. It was like good, I've had like nine auditions, it's like a frustrating because like you do them you like this is great and like before I would mess up cuz I would leave my house and go there as soon as I would mess up in the room you know like I would stutter or I said the wrong thing or I get my head but now everything's from home so you could do it like ten thousand times. Yeah, absolutely. So now I know I'm not fucking up the room and I'm still not getting them and that's so awful. Man it's hard. Well plus the other one else has a studio and everyone's everyone else taking the perfect take too. So it's not like you're the only person doing a person. Hey it's like every amazing take. Yeah. So I had one last night. I know so 1:00 in the morning it says Hey audition do tomorrow like eight pages, you know, short film blah blah blah blah. I'm like oh I gotta I gotta leave it 5 in the morning. Fly back, get back. Pick up my daughter from school. I took her to the mall. Took her to a dance class. Learn his lines. My wife's, like, pay attention to me, you know, basically, like I mean, I need to hit my wife, need to be a good husband. I, let me rephrase that my wife. I'm blessed that my wife wants to hang out because I I love heard of that, turn around and looking back right now, it's just like all this just going on but I finally get it into like 12:03. The deadline was midnight. So then like, like well I can't find the person to email it to like oh it's cut off. So I look up the person. I look up director, look up all this shit, this whole thing, and then I get it in and then all of a sudden today, they're like, oh we we but we made a mistake it was due Thursday. I was like what life Like last Thursday this coming Thursday like you have three more days to get it in over again cuz I can do a better job at the same time. Like I already said that in, you know, if you're going to stop them. Stop now and just be like, I love to read you this cuz I was rushing and if I am more time, I like another shot if you really wanted on that, but it was you don't want to lose you, put in the word, you sent it in. You know, a lot of times, I think I'm like, fucking Marlon Brando and I sent it in nothing and then maybe in another time zone. Like, I know like you got a call back so I don't usually out of work. Said you're down works, but you think it is terrible. You get the job and when you walk out and go and got it. So it's a very strange. I had a crazy story that like I was in a movie with Mark Ruffalo. When I say was in a movie I had like I was like his sidekick for like a scene or something. It was like right, you know, it was I wasn't home. Act like me. And it was a long time ago with Mark, Ruffalo was first coming out, and he was a nice guy, and he wrestled in high school and he was a big wrestler took a wrestling forever. And in the scene we were best friends with, um, it was like, movie called XXYYXX something. Right. So, I was in a like a second. So, and in the seat we're best friends and he acted like we were best friends and I can't tell if he was like, really that great of a guy or was he was getting at the character because you know what? He told me but he's a little bit of both. It's probably a little bit of both right, right. But he told me, he auditioned for 20 Jump Street against Richard, grieco's part and Grieco walked out of the room and goes guys, go home, I got this and then got it. So say, I done that before as a joke and didn't, and I was pretty sure it's cuz I stupidly walk together, but they realised even goofing about that in the waiting room before then. Yeah. So yep. I guess I would come on, but I mean clearly I was younger. But I don't think you guys realize that when I ended up not really, not even thought that she must have just got all serious nothing's worse than when you're waiting, you're like in a room full of people who got and like they go into the casting. Like, hey Steve. And I was like, oh good. How the kids and they have this like your next. You have no idea who the fuck casperson is. No doubt. Exactly, exactly. They'll act like the old friends and say, you know, each other like, oh, it's so great. Things are called me back. Hey, did you get this? Yeah, and you're like okay yeah, I'm just protecting your opportunity. I'm just very is there. How about you, man? What's going on and on Friday? Trying to raise to the other side of town. See a doctor. I got raised the other side of town to get my passport. So okay so you you go to South America home so you go over that surgery. Yeah. I got I got gigs worth the time. All right. So what do you know what kind of? Yeah, you pick it up pain killers.

I enjoyed them in twenty one. Jump street Twenty two jump street. I don't think. I have actually not bad for a second juncture. It was honest as good as the first one Wc excited they. They kept it fresh off while just really just make jokes at the fact that they were down another one the whole fucking i one of the first one. Yeah that's that that is the credits for the best. Because they're joked about how the just gonna make them forever. And it's like a poster like twenty three judge street at. It's like a clip from it. They do that for like fifteen of balance. Just like fucking hand at will point seth rogan takes over. And wherever you look different. He's the same alleghenies again back after contract disputes. I mean that so. Do you think 'cause i wasn't far. That would be funny. Is that jonah hill is now lay in shape. And is ju jitsu master now. So i think that would be fun if he just goes in fucking fully. Roy did for the like last week to. He was at the beach and like paparazzi. Took pictures of any like went out of his way made a post. He's like my entire life. I was scared to take my shirt off the beach of the fact that you guys are fucking following man taking pictures like he's like i still hate it but i hope it gives other people confidence. Yeah mid nineties mid nineties. I didn't watch really should as As a punk kid in the nineties like headstart movers will relatable He directed that whole thing thing. It's pretty short. It's probably like an hour and twenty five minutes but rarely good. We need to do that. So one thing. I would as don't forget to mention that you heard him on behind the bima. Ponce thank you so but he was. He was great. I'll tell you one other thing. I spoke to him earlier. Setting up the interview said you know anything you don't want us to ask and if you want to ask to avoid and it's a courtesy that we we try to offer. Don't tell the guests the questions we're going to ask but we wanted to be spontaneous but game. He said one thing he said one thing and i was working. Don't bring this up. Don't mention that he's just one thing he said i'm not going to. I'm not going to bash anybody. I will speak about ideas. I won't speak about people so if you think i'm going to come out and attack anybody. It's not going to happen. I don't do that so he he. Just an impressive person says it all of us. Impressive person yeah. That was that was impressive. So coming back. We're almost out of time. But i wanna come back to the conversation that we were having earlier with mark ruffalo so and again the israel anti-semites without saying that his apology is only because disney threatened to. He's an actor disney. The disney threatened him. Or hollywood must have threatened Which is not exactly so slanted towards israel so..
