"You're appealing to- It's appealing to creators. It's trying to open, it's what it's doing. It's lowering the barrier of using Unreal Engine, right? And opening up more use cases for more broader selection of creators. If you're gonna lower, then lower it, you know? Like go to the lowest denominator, which is what LittleBigPlanet was. Here are assets you can turn and then you place. That's it, right? There's not anything about scripting. There's no learning UI. Like you guys are so, you guys are so dumb. You guys need a person to kind of sit there and like, hey, no one's gonna use this. You kind of need a millennial to sit there and just like, hey, this is just too complicated, I guess, right? And I feel like they're just building on top of that. You talk about dreams. Like dream is like an evolution of LittleBigPlanet, right? It just got more and more complex, but even still very usable, right? I think it got more complex in terms of the technology. The technology. But the interface is very, very similar. Right, they kept within that, but you could do more with dreams than you did with LittleBigPlanet 1, right? There was an evolution there. And I just feel like they went backwards unsuccessfully. Here's Unreal, which it is intuitive to creators using engine for priority engine. It's easier than others. But in terms of barrier of entry or basically a gamer, it's like, this is a lot to learn. Do something cool, right? Like you can't just step in and basically squeeze the maximum potential within an hour session, right? And now you just gotta go into docs. You gotta read docs, you gotta look at videos. It's like you already failed in my opinion. And they are continually going in that direction, which is wrong. It's a misdirection, right? If this is the audience they're trying to capture. And I'm just so disappointed that nobody there has the balls to say this ain't gonna work. This is dumb, you know? It's just dumb. What is this fab thing? How is this fab thing gonna fall? It's like, let me drop crappy assets throughout this half-baked engine. And somehow I'm gonna be proud about this. It's like, come on, dude. It's like you're polluting what was great, right? Megascans is, I still feel, very quality assets, right? And you're watering it down with all these good assets. You can get quality and you can get something else. There's gonna be filters and hey, I want Megascans. Click, Megascans, here they are. Yeah, mixed gold with shit. You will average down. I don't care what you say. Why would you do that? It's still the same amount of gold if I can sift through it. Shitty gold. It's like, let me wash my gold with shit. It's like, why would you do that? Just keep the gold aside and just let the shit wash it. Oh, I don't understand, man. Just allow the people to do what they want to do, man. I can't wait. We'll see how it turns out. Just wait for 12 months from now. 12 months from now. I'm not saying you're wrong. What's gonna happen? Watch what happens, dude. This thing is stupid. Notice what I'm saying. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm saying I can see where they want to go with it. And I think it's, I'm always interested to see where these things end up. It's like, oh, there's Ready Player One. Let's go this way. It's like, what? What is it guys? It's a, they made a movie about it. Just do that. What are you doing? Oh my God. So many licenses. Here's the sad part. Everything that they bought, even Band Camp and all this shit, Fall Guys, Rocket League. Aside from making Rocket League free to play because they thought Fortnite money was forever. None of these, like Fall Guys disappeared. Like everything kind of, in my opinion, you don't hear people talking about it as much. Yes, maybe the appeal, but they haven't done anything to add to it. Which is very disappointing. There's a small core that are still playing these games, but it's not like a cultural phenomenon that it was at the height. Of course not. They didn't do anything to it. Like the acquisition didn't give. Yeah. And that's the thing is like, I see a lot of these acquisitions that see the fruits of the labor fast enough after the acquisitions are, oh, you made the acquisition so that they have more resources. Usually that's the bad thing is because now that you have more resources, oh man, I can take, I can take however long I want now. You get kind of placed in it now, or you become super ambitious. And then it's like, oh, here's a six year plan for like in six years we'll have something where like when you don't have all that runway, you have to be quick, nimble, and make stuff happen. Make fast decisions. I will say this Alan Wake too. I see the resources. I'm looking at that game like, dude, they really ate the shit out of this franchise. Judge A for number one. They went hard. It was bad-ass dude. I was like, I'm ready to play this, man. I'm ready to read this book. That's one of the few, and that's one of the few custom engine games out there. Right. North flight, North flight engine from- Looks fucking, like I can see why the acquisition made this game better, right? And unfortunately I haven't seen any of that. Who acquired Remedy? Remedy is in partnership with, I think Microsoft. Who bought Remedy? No. They, someone bought them then. Because if it was Microsoft, it would be on Game Pass. So it's definitely like- I think it's a, I think it is a Microsoft thing. No, it's not Microsoft. Like their last game, one of their games, Quantum Break, was on Microsoft, but they're not owned by Microsoft. I'm trying to look it up. Yeah. Yeah, no, I don't think there was, they were acquired. Oh, so Epic Games is funding and publishing Alan Wake too. So they're the publisher, but then I don't think they are, I don't think it's beyond that. Yeah. That's why it's on Epic, Epic Game Store, right? Yeah. You know, like they got acquired by Sony or something. Or not. Because there definitely was an influx of stuff because I've heard rumors that Max Payne's being remastered. I know you love him. You know, no, it's confirmed he had to do it in Max Payne. Yeah, there's definitely a influx of money. Tencent. No. Tencent definitely bought more stake into it, I guess. Yeah. Like Epic fully funded Alan Wake too. So it's only available in the Epic store? It's only available in the Epic store, yeah. I was looking forward to playing that on Steam. Tencent. Is on Steam. But anyway, but yeah, like it is all the latest techniques. The facial animation is some of the best I've seen. Right? It looks like they did like full on performance capture and like the full. They have FMV in there, which is, you know, Yeah. Old school 90s style. I was like, dude, that's kind of cool. I don't mind. But it's good. It's very good. No, I love it. I love that idea. I started playing it. I started playing it today actually. And it looks, it looks really good. That's what I'm saying. Like it's exciting to, like it gives me, like I was just saying like these games with these old, you know, old school guys that now have ideas. Well, here's a guy that, you know, went through hell, the creative, that team, right? They were successful. They had to sell Max Payne to Rockstar or something. The indie basically made Alan Wake, made their way back up to Control. And now they're making Alan Wake too, the way they want to. And no, and Control. Control did very well, right? Control did very well. But like this is a path of like hardship and failure and reinventing themselves. It's like, all right, here's a company that very few companies are able to replicate, right? And I was like, dude, we need more of these guys. You know, it's just, they stay together. You know, the vision to, like you play their games is like, okay, this is the type of game I'm going to get, right? And you know, it's a very clear, creative direction and vision. And then it's just quality, like technical quality too, like at a technical level. It's just really good. Well, we definitely went over the hour mark, Rick. I'm, I'm thankful again for you. I guess I did most of the ranting, but ranting with me. Mark my words, dude. I'm just laughing. I'm just laughing at it. It'd be like, oh, this is bad. I just feel Epic is just doing so many things wrong, man. I feel they're so desperate and their ideas are so old that it hurts my feelings because I'm a lifetime user of the engine, right? I was like, what the fuck are you doing? It's like, are you guys going to be around? It's like the reason why I hate when people is like, well, this is, it's just another store that you can buy games on. What's the big deal, just buy it? It's like, no, I just don't think it's going to be around. That's my first, Steam is going to be around. It's been around for the last 20 years. It'll be around the next 20 years. You have a higher confidence that Steam will still be around but all of these things, that's why a lot of people don't like any of these stores. Cause they're like, I want to own my game and I want to be able to download it and back it up and do all this and play it. People have good reasons because they just don't trust the platform to be there. Of course. Steam's been there for like a long time. Here's what people are subconsciously doing about Steam. And then also who are people like me and yourself are constantly thinking about. Steam is like a 200 plus, Valve is a 200 plus team, right? They're only like, they're only a few hundred. It's like, they're going to be around. They're all billionaires. Yeah, there may be money. I'm over at Epic and I see how they're spending their money. And everything's failing, right? They can't even do their metaverse correctly. It's like, you have five, like mega, you have five verses, right? Just cross it. And that's your metaverse. It's like, no, we're doing UAFN. It's like, what? It's like, I feel like they're losing money rightfully so. Yeah, they're losing money because they, if Fortnite was gone tomorrow, right? Let's say that. All this stuff that they own, right? Does that give you any confidence in their business model? This is why they, they fired everyone, right? Well. Correct? If Fortnite was taken away. They were spent, they're spending more money than they were making. Yeah, because they have nothing. And they have bad ideas, right? And Fortnite funds their engine. And they're looking for other ways to diversify. The same reason why I don't go to a lottery or dinner for business advice, right? This is why I was like, yeah, you guys, first of all, the idea that made you a lot of money, you stole that, right? It wasn't even yours.

Welcome back to the Paul fine bomb show, Peter burns sitting in for mister Paul fine bomb. You can follow me on Twitter at Peter burns ESPN or you can follow SEC Mike at Michael W Bratton, he had this tweet last night. Nick Saban lost two games to the number one and number three overall picks on his roster. Not even debatable that Kirby smart has paths his mentor. Well, it's a take. It's definitely one. Again, I had said that the new gold standard of college football is Georgia football in how can you not look at it? What's happening right now? It's not only with the back to back national championships, and if you look at Georgia schedule, I mean, it's like playing for the red tees, this year. They should have a pretty good successful season. I would be shocked that they're not undefeated once again going into Atlanta. But the difference is, is the reason why Sabin is the goat and still is the greatest of all time is because not only did we championships, but he developed players and got them drafted. He got guys paid, right? I mean, the first two of the first three picks, it was all about Alabama. We'll see Brian barentz go. We already saw jamir gives add to that. I mean, almost made what, three players somewhat of a $100 million yesterday. That's impressive. Now, Kirby smarts finally doing that. He has more of the first round draft picks and Mark Rick, but until Kirby can truly have that year after year of getting those guys paid, then that's the only way that he eventually will pass Nick Saban. But he's got a long, long ways to go. 8 5 5 two four two Paul is the number. Let's go down to Jacksonville, Florida, west. Thanks for joining Peter burns in here for Paul. What's up, man? I'm doing great, Peter. Great to be a Georgia bulldog these days. Great segue into it. Obviously, Georgia grad and fans, so proud of the team. But I will say this, I have tremendous respect for Alabama and coach Saban. Just tremendous respect. He still is the master and that's all there is to it. However, that being said, the most dominant team in college football at the last 6 years is without a doubt, Georgia, all the numbers say that. In the last 34 games, Georgia's 33 and one were one game away from a 34 game winning streak. In the last 6 years, Georgia has the best record in college football against top ten and top 5 teams. These are facts. It's been going on a while. Georgia was one play away. From winning another national title in January of 2018, where Georgia led the entire game never betrayed until it was beaten by Alabama greatly in overtime like that. Very close to winning a third. What I keep hearing and bothering me a little bit is the lack of respect. You respect it. But what's linked to the draft last night, the only reason Georgia beat us out of state is because the guy got hurt. The only reason Georgia beat Alabama in the national championship game is their receivers got hurt and that's a bunch of BS. Because that's depth. And Georgia has doubts. Georgia had receivers heard Donna Mitchell hardly played last year and was a key player. You got to have depth, getting hurt, a part of football. You don't think Georgia suffered tough losses. I just told you the one in January of 2018, where we led the entire game, never trailed until we beaten in overtime on the bank. So I understand the ink. So Ohio State has a played great, they gave it everything they have. They're a great program. But Georgia beat them. And Georgia beat them by doing this with stetson Bennett, who is also been disrespected. With two minutes and 30 seconds left, Ohio State had led most of the game were up 41 to 35. Georgia got the ball first down at the 25 after the Ohio State field goal, two minutes and 30 seconds down 6. He let him straight down the field, completed every pass, hit Mitchell in the corner on a perfect pass for the touchdown. That is in incredible. I don't care what happens. What he did there was in incredible. When Georgia was down in the national championship game, 18 to 13 in the fourth quarter against Alabama, studs had been at through the past Mitchell to put us ahead. He is a great college football player. Calling somebody out listening to the show such disrespect. He has the highest rating ever in a college football playoff game, along with Bowers. Stetson Bennett played in four CFP games for Georgia. He was four and he was the MVP in every damn one of them. Wes. I'm gonna jump in here and thank you for the phone call. And I get it. And I've been a big proponent. I was the one who called the Georgia was going to wind it back last year. I called it the last or the year prior as well too. Nobody's been on that Georgia bandwagon. That's tough as an LSU fan, but I've been there, right? I've been at the forefront of that. Now with that said, the next step to becoming the dynasty is not given a damn what anybody thinks. That's always to me like when you think Tiger Woods at the Pinnacle of his game did he even care what Phil Mickelson thought did he care what anybody else thought when they were teeing up? No, because Tiger knew he was the greatest. And that's the one thing I want to see from Georgia fans that like now you're there. You're at the Pinnacle. Who cares? That was always the thing that killed me as an LSU fan when Bama was on its run. It was the fact that as much as LSU cared about Alabama, Alabama didn't think about you at all, right? And that's where the Georgia fan base needs to be. They're at the Pinnacle right now. Stop talking about disrespect, okay? Sets and beds that doesn't play there any longer. Stop talking about Ohio State fans. Who cares? They don't win in titles like you guys have back to back. That's when you've truly made it as the elite of the elite is when you look behind and you don't even respond to any of them. 8 5 5 two four two Paul is the phone number. Let's get one quick phone call in

"To the Paul fine bomb show podcast. Back Matt from San Antonio. AJ? You know why? In our apartment, one of the best cars, Paul. That's one of my key people is real. I never lied to this show. About my life is a lie. AJ is not a fake fake. He's a much a fake, one of the loser Trump who thinks he's on the ring listing, and I'm on my way to upstate fighter and it's going to mark the floor right there. He's not saying he's a loser. That's reason why HA to stop calling this show unless a real car is part of Google Cloud back home to his money. And we're not going to go 8 in four inches. We're going to go with tennis 293 and our chance of delusional bunch of idiots playing games all over one. We're going to market forward them. Paul said, Matt, thank you very much. Jason is up next in Georgia. Hello, Jason. Hey, Paul, how are you doing? We're doing great. Thank you. Saturday down south guy there that you know what they say about opinions. Everybody has one just like something else. That everybody has. And he's excited to debate him, but I think he's wrong. I think not only is more than qualified, like you said, South Carolina auburn, you just heard that out the window. And I think there's something else that people need to think about. Tell you, I don't think my mom is going anywhere for years. So you could build something to stable a long-term and knowledge to keep on rolling. Go dogs. Thank you very much. In addition, he's got great contacts with coaches in the state. He understands the system. There's no transition. He's already there. Kirby smart is well aware he could have gone out and hired a flash coach, but he clearly felt he didn't need it. And it's just amazing to me how everyone is harping on that higher and then dismissing the rest of the hires as being great. Crawford is in Tennessee. Hello Crawford, you are on the air. Yes, Paul, thank you very much for allowing me to come on the air. I have been doing some research on the Internet as far as college football stance and I come up with time month and versus Mike Bobo and these are the stats from the college web way website that I got this from. Starting with Todd monk and his offense for three years averaged 37.33 points per game with 5 and four star players. While the defense allowed averaging 14.83 points per game. Now, OC Mike Bobo last three season, 2012, 2013 and 14 offenses, averaged 38 .6 points per game with four and three star players. With the defense allowing an average of 23.1 points per game, a deficit of 8 points versus defense as far as gorgeous defense. Note that's 1.2 difference. Now, not only that, time of possession, the 2020 21 and 22 offensive time of possession, they had the vowel to minutes and 41 seconds longer than the 2012 2013 and 14 teams. That means you got more than two minutes more of his a play in time, but you still had 1.27 last points per game average. So all in all, the office did better because they had to score more points to make up a difference of 8 points per game. Well, listen, I appreciate the stats, Crawford I don't think they mean a whole lot. I think everyone acknowledges that Bobo's offenses under Mark Rick were very good. The defenses were not. Ship is up next. Hello, chip. Welcome to our show. Good afternoon. Hello, mister Powell. Love your show and watch it every day. How about that? I appreciate that very much. I appreciate your knowledge and your insight. We've been talking a little bit about coach Bobo today and very frankly and I'll ask the question and then let you answer. What is your personal opinion, as far as mister pond, miss fine Bond himself goes on the hiring of coach Bobo, your personal opinion? I think it was a smooth decision. No, it doesn't, it doesn't register on the Richter scale for a wow higher because Bobo has some baggage, but I like the fact that Kirby smart did not blink an eye. Connor said that it was as if the higher was ready to go. And the reason for that is it was ready to go. Kirby smart probably knew as far back as two months ago that monkey possibly would be leaving and I think he made the decision in a split second that he was going to elevate Bobo. And I don't think it has anything to do with him being his roommate or best friend. When you get to the level of Kirby smart, you don't hire people out of loyalty. Not when you're playing, they're playing up on Mount Everest right now. This is not kid stuff anymore. Mister foul law agree with you on that end to be honest with you with Bobo had a little time around monkey and certainly and surely he learned something. Wouldn't you think? Yeah, and chip, I think that's the most important thing that he understands what Kirby smart is doing right now, but I think it's blatantly ridiculous to criticize him for what he did at Colorado state as a head coach and what he did in two quick hits as an assistant coach. Listen, you can take the most talented person at any field and put him in a bad position and they will struggle. I can assure you, I've worked at bad places before. And no matter how hard you try, there's only so much change you can affect when you don't have a good infrastructure. He went to South Carolina as

"And we're back. I appreciate you being here. Pat is in Georgia. Helipad. Welcome. Hey, Paul. Thanks. Bobo is back. And I think he's better than ever. I was glad that Bobo got a promoted off of Mark Rick Rick's OC position. But he's back with Kirby smart and I don't think we're going to miss a beat and I'm glad he's back. That's not why I called. I mean, listening often on this week to your show while we're getting over COVID here and augie and you touched on it, let's assume that and rightly so that Alabama has not put its best foot forward. So my question is, okay, what can they do now to deal with it? What's the next thing they can do that is right and correct and can get rid of this saga as you describe it and I'm not sure that there is anything that they can do. I really don't think there is and once the AD put his foot in the water the other day or wherever he put his foot, I think they were stuck. Because I think at this point it would look very heavy handed to coming here and use some phony baloney reason to suspend him now when they clearly have absolved him of everything that has gone on. Andre is up next. Hello, Andre. The one and only coach Paul fine ball. How are you? Coach, I'm good. This is a bad look. This is a bad look for the conference. This is a bad look for the university of Alabama. This is just a bad look for human decency. Listen, kick this fool off the team. Anybody tells you to bring a gun to a situation, 99.9% of the time, it's not gonna help a good outcome. You got a young lady that lost her life here because of some of these foolishness. You know, when I was a child, you might have had a fish bite a few kids locked up. An hour later they were playing. This is a different animal now. They should have kicked them off the team. And if the coach warned him to play, they should have fired the coach. But this looked bad for Alabama. It looks like winning trumps all. And, you know, man, they should have just even if they're just to spend it to the guy and to this thing was sorted out, then you could have reinstated him. But now, you know, like you said, it's looks like they're just folding to the wind of the crowd. When they should have done the right thing at first, seeing they could have always went back and so you know what, we shorted it out, the guy wasn't involved. But hell, if he bought the gun, that therefore the guy to use, he should have been kicked off the team, period. No questions asked. But as always, coach fine by my enjoy your show. Look, let me ask you one question. What do you think? You think Florida state trying to get in the SEC now coach or use your Florida state does one in the SEC and they realized that where they are free. By the way, allow me to be a mind Florida state that in 1990, they could have been in the SEC, but Bobby bowden didn't want to play that type of schedule. He didn't want, but you know, coach, they say money is no talking screen. Yeah, you're right. Andre, I think we were losing you at the end, but thank you, Trey is up next. Hey, Paul. I hope you have a good weekend and I will tell Jim, I hope he gets to feeling better. I agree with August. He didn't sound very well yesterday. But Paul, are there any other witnesses to this situation besides the Alabama players and the young lady and the guy that did the shooting? I mean, I'm assuming it's that particular, you're right by a bunch of bars. I'm pretty sure there are cameras everywhere. And I guess another thing I would like to ask you, nobody's brought it up. Am I to understand that Brandon Miller had some bullet holes in his car and if they weren't did those come from miles just gone or did they come from another gun or I'm just kind of confused on all of that? I'm assuming they were coming from the other the other individual involved where the altercation began. Thanks for the call. William is up next in Tennessee. Hello, William. Hey, Paul. Did I hear mark from Alabama with 2° correctly when he questioned why miss Harris was out that night? You did hear him correctly. Well, you know, Paul, you've known me a long time. I don't get outraged at many things, but merely making that statement and questioning why a 23 year old young lady was out in Tuscaloosa, whether what cousin and boyfriend on a Saturday night is as inappropriate as anything as I've ever heard and Mark should be ashamed of himself. And if that's what he learned with these 2°, then he didn't learn much. And I never called anybody else, I don't think I'm going to show, but that is just outrageous. Now, the question should be, why did Brandon bring the gun? But let me run something else by you, Paul. Alabama university is a big organization. They have to have they should have plans in place for dealing with situations like this. I would be disappointed in their management if Greg burn, Nate Oates, their general counsel or someone from their general counsel's office, someone from their police department. If they weren't in a meeting or at least on a Zoom call, you know, 7 o'clock that Sunday morning to figure out what to do with this. And that's what everyone understand, they had to have had some sort of a crisis management meeting. I prominent team and you're at home, so it's not like you played at home the day before. And remember, at this moment in time, you have a basketball player involved in a capital murder. Exactly. Now we want to say miles is a former he was a player on the team. He was a player. So if. Nate Oates found out about that at four 47 a.m., Greg Byrne would have been called it four 48. Exactly. And there should have been a meeting convened at 5 a.m. or as soon as they could get everybody there to figure out what they knew, what they needed to know. I mean, their campus police are head of safety and security should have been there. Their general counsel's office should have been there. There should have been an all hands on deck meeting to determine because they had a murder right off of campus involving a student athlete.

I just wanted to follow up with, I believe it was Terry out of Tennessee and then the older lady out Arkansas. Man, when a fan base is claiming a rugby national championship, you know it's been pretty tough to pass several years. And yeah, I just wanted to say, man, Alabama is going to be back. I know you've been criticizing being a little bit Nick. But yeah, man, they got on the right track. I've heard of Pete golden, nothing against Pete, but Pete was a defensive coordinator at a UTF a before Alabama. Now we got Kevin Steele, and I think we're going to make a big leap. On that side of the ball and then Tommy Reese coming in, not a very extravagant heart, but man, I think Nick's going to get back to running the football. Taking more pressure off the quarterback, and man, that's what we were doing, and that's what George is doing now. And I think Nick sees that that may be a way for us to get back up and going. Hey, thank you for the call. Do you appreciate it. Bruce is in Michigan. You are on the air. Hey Bruce, how's it going, Paul? Very well. Thank you. Well, I will just want to add my piece with Mike Bobo being higher. I think it's a great acquisition. Acquisition for the board dollars curve is smart. Why is that? Because if you take with him, think about it, he lost D.C. with me on Tucker, he had somebody to replace him with Atlanta, replaced him, and then when Landon left our organs, he had human along with much champ come in on the staff as well. And now he brought Bobo back to undersea market, when he left the last year for the last two years, he's been at Georgia looking at offense to understand. You got to remember, he probably averaged 35 point once again when Georgia, when he was in the office of coordinator up on a Margaret. The problem was Mark Rick can keep the talent home in the state of Georgia. I mean, being from Georgia, I know that for a fact. It was a very good coach, but he did not have the killer instinct that you need to be successful in an age. Absolutely. In the SEC. Kirby does. Correct. I agree with you. Really good call, Bruce. You take care of yourself. Mac is in Colorado. Hey, Mac. Hey, how's it going there, mister coach Paul? Fine bomb. We are doing great. Thank you. Roll side. Colorado. Hey, Mike Bobo. Colorado state football coach. Yeah, what do you remember to draw a couple? Back to back when, you know, he went three years of losing, losing, losing, and then all three bowl games lose, lose lose. They parted ways under a cloud of dare I say racial motivated insensitivity. Just to throw that on the fire for anyone. I don't remember that. It wouldn't be hard to check out, but I mean, he was on his own. I remember that stuff. That was all over the local. Okay. So, anywho, you know, the guy that he took over for, coach methylene, Alabama, I think his last year there was ten and three. My point is, I think you can take great talent. Georgia. And put a mediocre coach there and still have a good team. Well, you take a mediocre coach to a mediocre team and you're going to have garbage. You know, I think you're right about that. I think assistant coaches have to do a lot to separate themselves from the head coach. If the head coach is a problem, then it's going to trickle down. And I don't remember. I mean, the Colorado state is a tough turnaround. And he clearly failed there. I think that's, I don't think you can look at the other two jobs with boba. I mean, we've now, I mean, it seems like we're going to get a Senate intelligence committee hearing and look at Bobo's life story. I don't think whatever happened on the way out of Colorado state is impactful to what he's doing now. Kirby smart likes him. He's hired him and the critics are out. We'll take a break. We are halfway home on a Friday afternoon. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. The Paul fine bob show airs weekdays on the SEC network beginning at three eastern. "Susie, you've never sounded better. Thank you for the call. Thank you. Danielle made me feel that way when I called him, thank you. He made me feel special today. Two things I wanted to call yesterday ended up calling anyway and talking when I turned the show on yesterday and you were not. I was hoping you weren't sick. And I almost turned it off because I thought well Paul fell on there, but I really enjoyed them. They did a great job. I heard that. It was a great show. And they tell me you could look at Roman and the way he dresses. He's pretty snazzy. I've always got that when I watch SEC in the morning. I want to call yesterday to get your thoughts on Alabama Tennessee basketball. Yeah, I'm still going back to legends call on Wednesday night. Guaranteeing that as the easiest win of the night. I hope legend didn't lose too much money. I hope not either. I get so nervous when I watch it. I basically watched the basketball game on mute. But was excited that we pulled it off. Of course, on YouTube. And the other thing is Bobo. I remember when did the only Georgia? I believe he left 2014, 2015 somewhere in there. He became the head coach at Colorado state, then he got fired, then he spent a year at South Carolina in a year at auburn. Okay, so he's never been in the NFL as an assistant. Bobo no. Oh, okay. I just remember when was that under march, mark Rick? Correct. Okay. I just remember because I'm surrounded by Georgia fans, you know, when I taught and they were very, very excited when Bobo left. I think they gave a huge going away party. The fans. So when I heard that Kirby smart tired him, I'm just wondering how the fans are reacting if they've already started to react, and your thoughts. Well, here's what I think happens with people like Bobo fans get mad at the head coach and blame it on the offensive coordinator. And knowing Mark Rick, who was formerly an offensive coordinator, Bobo was doing what he wanted him to do. I'm not defending Bobo. I mean, Bobo has some cleaning up his reputation to do. And a big season will do that. But there is a stigma attached to him. Now, the job, the South Carolina job, I mean, he took over, he was down there with will Musk champ. It was a disaster. And he was not going to stick around that job. And I don't know what happened at auburn. I mean, nothing went right there. So ultimately, he's getting a lot of negativity, but it's easy. People are looking for something to isolate with Kirby smart and find a reason not to automatically say you are going to win it again. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I wish him the best. I don't ever wish anybody any ill well. I mean, that's just not the way I live. I just remembered from the past that there was negativity in that. So I was kind of shocked when I heard that that's who he chose. And like I do wish them well. I don't wish Georgia to win three in a row because I want to see. I want to see UT eventually get back up there. But yeah, so it'll be interesting. You're having someone come on. Yeah, we are literally Susie as you're driving. We'll have Connor kind of rally on in a minute. Thanks for the call, by the way, and we'll talk to him about the dogs. Shane is up next in Georgia. Hey, Paul, thank you. And Susie was a good call or bliss or harsh. He is, but the reason I'm calling, I don't know, or expect you to remember this, Paul, but about a month or so before the season started last year, I called and talked to you about Georgia and I said, all the skepticism about Georgia law so many players and I wanted to push back and tell you why I thought they were going to be an elite team and they went undefeated and I told you I said I think they're going to go and defeat it. I think that with the talent they have coming back, they're going to have a legitimate chance to win it again. And they did. And so I'm looking for the skepticism rumors to start flying again because we're going to lose probably 9 to 12 players this year to the draft. But the three quarterbacks that we have in waiting, Carson back, gunner Stockton, broadband group. Any one of those three guys that Bobo and Kirby K are going to break on the scene, Carson back has just he's faster than you think he is. He has a loser speed, has a cannon for an army. He's very accurate. And he's gotten playing time in the last two years. So I think it's going to be cars. It's a guarantee that whatever happens in spring, one or more of those guys are going to leave. And those rumors will start as soon as they all put on the pads. They're already rumors out there. We'll take a break. We'll talk about the dogs in a minute. With Connor Riley, he's up next. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. "He's thinking he's thinking, he's a chess man. He's thinking way in advance. Look, must champ and Bobo both have funds that are playing on this Georgia football team. They're on the roster. Okay? I mean, he wants to keep these guys around. I would venture to say, I don't think we're going to have a change in major major coordinators now or a long time to come. And that's huge to perp. Yeah, and I mean, Kirby had Dan laning in there. He left. I don't know. You tell me that the Georgia defense look any different this year? No. It's Kirby's date there. Exactly. And by the way, it should have looked a lot different considering what went in the first round of the draft. Hey, thanks a lot. I appreciate the call and really quite an interesting situation here. Quentin is in Georgia. You're on the air. Hello Clinton. He was fine. How are you doing? We're doing great. Thank you. Hi, I want to piggyback off of what Shane Mike and Conor said. And I completely agree with all those guys. I mean, I nicknamed Kirby smart the general, a long time ago. And what the general says goes. And let me tell you some of my general. Since he's been there, recruiting through the roof. Talent above board. And the aggressiveness of these guys when they take the field. I've seen nothing like it. I mean, the physicality. And the fact that we got Bobo back as Alison coordinator, I don't think it will change anything. If anything, I think the Georgia offense is going through the roof. That's what I think. I mean, wasn't he the orchestrator of the high school and offense in Georgia history? Yes. Okay. And you're looking at that with the talent that he had, he did that. And I think about the talent that he has now. What can he do with that? So I think this is a big overreaction. And I don't take the truth. I don't hear many Georgia fans of my friends complaining about it. I don't. So I don't get what this notion that George is upset about Bobo being offensive. And I just don't understand it. I don't get it. I don't see it. I don't see it at all. So, I mean, what do you think? Give me your honest opinion. I think this is more of a PR situation than an on the field situation. And I don't know why. I think whenever you get fired a couple of times, it sticks with you. And. The South Carolina job, I mean, that's included in the times he got fired. Well, everyone knows what happened there. Will muschamp got fired. Bobo took over at the end of the season, and then of course he was going to be put out to pasture. And he they weren't keeping him around. They weren't keeping anybody around from that was that tight with must champ. And the harsh in situation, I mean, I try to think back on that auburn season and it was all over the map and they had the chance to beat Alabama at the end, but that was that was primarily because overreacted. His first year bringing in SEC guys, Derek mason and Mike Bobo, and they said, you know what? I'm sick of these guys. I know what I'm doing. I'm bringing my own people back to the program. You don't have a damn thing. Look how that works. Exactly. He didn't have a clue. I'm glad he's gone. I'm glad for all that he's going. I don't even like over. But I mean, this is, I think, I think what people look, you know, was brought in people is the fact that George had the talent back when Bobo was a coordinator and Rick was the coach and we didn't, we didn't push the envelope much. Mark Rick was a good football coach. He was not a great football player. You can not hold anything that happened at Georgia under Rick. You have to forget about because Georgia, a couple of national championships get away. And Mike Bobo's fault. It was Mark Rick's fault. That's right. Well said, appreciate the call. We are into a topic I did not expect today, but then again, I should have. We'll take a break, more of your phone calls, more guests. We are on a roll here on a busy Friday afternoon. Paul, I have another number one Randy joke and a number two Paul finebaum joke and you have to pick. Okay. Since Randy is not here today, save it for next save it for Monday. Will. Going off on that, I'm impressed about Mike Rick. 15 years at Georgia. That's a long time to be a head coach. He did well. I have a question for you. Mike Rick and Lang Kevin, what do they have in common together? Well, lane kiffin can't win a big game. Mark Rick did win some big games. He beat Alabama early on. He but he didn't, but he didn't win enough big games. That to me, and I hate to harp on it, but the facts, the facts are there that lane kiffin struggles in the biggest games. But that's understandable. Hey, thank you for the call. A man, the judge has struggled in any game is this one right here. Legend is next. I was born

"Those are those guys all worked with Mark Rick. At Georgia two, no less. And so having that, you know, Mark Rick level field, look, a successful is Mark Rick was. You did a great job at the university of Georgia. There are people especially at the end there that felt like this program underachieved at Georgia. And it feels like even though yes, you won two straight national championships. You did it with a guy Todd monkey, who was an outsider who was not part of the Georgia way, part of the corby smart sort of tree in terms of going out and doing things. He was an outsider and an outside perspective. And it feels like some people see him going with Mike Bobo as just a familiarity hire as helping out a friend because Bobo and smart. There were roommates in college. They've long been friends in the coaching trails and in the coaching circles. And they see this as maybe Kirby's getting lazy and complacent. I can assure you that it's farthest thing from the truth. I Kirby smart loves this job. He loves 360 five. He loves the challenge that comes with winning in modern college football. And the hiring of Mike Bobo had from Kirby's perspective, he believes that Mike Bobo is the best person to be the offensive coordinator at the university of Georgia. And I think he's very willing to bet. The fact that, yes, we won two straight national championships with my way of thinking. And I think we can do it again and potentially win a third straight national championship with that mindset as well. Connor, considering how quickly he elevated him, maybe I'm answering my own question, although we've known for weeks of monken was on the prowl, do you think Kirby smart seriously considered someone other than Mike Bobo for this job? I don't think so. And I think you can even look at what happened with buster faulkner, or a guy who was an analyst who they really liked, who was a really key part of this Georgia program. The fact that he goes and takes the Georgia Tech offensive coordinator job. I think indicated that there was maybe perhaps some writing on the wall there. And you look at some of the other last time in 2020 it was 2020 pre-pandemic when Kirby was able to go out and bring in a guy like monkey. I just think the college game is so much less attractive now than it was then and it's a big reason why I think time monkey has headed back to the NFL in the first place, but you look at a guy like Brian Johnson who's potentially going to be the Philadelphia Eagles new offensive coordinator. He was Dan mullin's right hand man as an offensive coordinator down there in Florida and he elected to go against that and go away from the college game and say I trust what I can do as a coach and then ultimately continue my development there. So I do think the lack of attractiveness of being especially at these high major programs where you have to have so much level of success and the last guy before Todd munchkin was James Coley. You got one year as an offensive coordinator Jordan didn't play very well and yes, even though they went 12 and two that season, the offense was nowhere near good enough and James Coley was out of a job after one year. And so the pressure at these institutions, I think makes this job a little bit harder and if you're not willing to bet on yourself the way that Mike Bobo, who very much knows what this job is going to be to understand the rigors that come with it, I can understand why you might not be all that interested in this job. Finally, most people seem to think the job is Carson decks or quarterback. What do you think and if that is indeed the case, how quickly is that quarterback room going to see young guys fleeing for other schools? Yeah, so I think one important thing to point out in all of us got our Stockton has had a long

"Of college football lives here. This is the Paul fine bomb show best of podcast. Welcome back, second half of the show is on. A lot of conversation about Mike Bobo and some of them I'm sure just getting on board. Maybe getting in your car getting home and wondering, what does all this about? Let us explain why this is suddenly become a big deal. Blake top Meyer, one of the top columnists in the covers the SEC for USA Today, wrote a piece under the headline, this is a Tuscaloosa news headline. You would think they might like it. Nick Saban may get college football thrown back after Kirby smart hire. Obviously Tommy Reese went to Alabama, not universally accepted, but it just seems like the Bobo hire by Kirby smart to replace Todd munk and who went to the NFL has given some this hope that maybe Kirby smart has finally made a mistake. Why the criticism of Bobo, he had been there under he played a George, of course, family and the high school coaching ranks for a lifetime. He was there under Mark Rick, had success, not the kind of success Kirby smart is having. And then he went to Colorado state, failed as the head coach, went to South Carolina with Wilma's champ. They got fired. He went to auburn, got fired, and here we are. That is what we are. That is the undercurrent of all of this. Let's check out Jason, who is up next. Hey Jason, good afternoon to you. Hey, Paul, how are you doing today? Very well. Thank you. Yes. Second time caller. About the whole Bobo and Georgia. I've been a long time fan. I happen to live in Tuscaloosa now, which has been a great two years to live here. As a Georgia fan, but I know where it comes from. Run run first second down with under Bobo back in the day. It was run on first run on second, throw on third and the offense would sputter. So if you look back, we had no receivers. And we were really a run heavy run heavy offense at the time. So I think we all need to sit back as legend okay. I didn't catch yesterday's show after the event. I was out of town and I have not heard whether it did legend Cullen, guys. Don't think he did. All right. One more thing. With Oklahoma and Texas coming to the SEC. Alabama state wrestling championships going on. And I know Oklahoma, Texas, there's a big 12. They have a wrestling. As far as the conference, SEC looking at wrestling in the docket or I have not heard that. I know there was a time when wrestling was one of the sports, but I have not heard any movement on that. And speaking of Texas, I happened to be in Texas yesterday. And the enthusiasm by Texas fans is pretty amazing. I was with some University of Texas people some administrators yesterday, I was in Dallas. They happened to be there. And I was conversing with them. And there's a genuine excitement by folks in Austin about this move. We heard earlier this week that there's a little bit of reticence from Oklahoma. We had one of the states top columnists on. And we had Barry Switzer on. So it's fascinating, especially to hear it here, and then to be out in that state all day to hear the other side of it. Let's check out Jimmy, who is in Dallas. So hey, Jimmy. Hey Paul, good to talk to you. Thank you very much. You bet. My question is this. If indeed the SEC goes to the three 6 6, how would a champion be determined? By the two higher ranked teams. Two high strength teams. Okay. All right. We've got the big 12 this year. Most of the leagues have moved toward this. The SEC, I think the ACC moved that way this year or not. I can't remember. But most are getting away from east west because it really, it doesn't set you up well when it comes to the CFP. Right. Right. Maybe it's a little strange to me because being as you know, sooner or I was going to come down to where somebody has a play who they need to play. By the way, I'm just trying to think if the SEC had done it that way this year, would it have been Alabama and Georgia or Tennessee and George? I'm trying to remember Alabama was 5. So Alabama would have played for the SEC championship. And by the way, too bad they didn't. We would have done maybe some of these conversations would have gone away either Alabama would have beaten Georgia or had lost and then we wouldn't be hearing any more about it. Hey, thank you very much. Jimmy, I appreciate your call. Let's check in with Bill, who is in Kentucky. Hey Bill. Hey, thank you for taking my call. Thank you. Yes, sir. Paul, I think then on it, but someone was telling me that legend made a comment about Kentucky basketball. Can you fill me in on that? This was Wednesday night. He was really excited about the game in Knoxville, which and he said that I said he has said this a couple of times, but I think his main reference to Kentucky was that Alabama is the new Kentucky. Yeah, well, I got news for legend. And. If you want to go back in the history and let's take a look at the wins and losses. They don't compare to Kentucky. Every now and then, Alabama, auburn, tenth, they'll have a good team. They go from the history of it, bob. Kentucky has dominated. Win for Kentucky on Wednesday and I mean, the season was on the line. And they got to win against a good team. It's a quad one game and they needed it and they're still alive right now, which they say they wouldn't have been. They've got Tennessee Saturday at home. So that game could go either way. I don't know if Kentucky is going to get there in the tournament or not, but there'll be a hard out. But we'll see how it goes. Do you see any of the SEC teams getting to the final four? Yes. I think, I mean, obviously, Alabama is going to be a top seed. And after that, Tennessee is a hard who was here. Seth Greenberg a couple of weeks ago, said he thought Tennessee was definitely a final four team. And I still think they are. They're two losses were, I mean, the loss of Kentucky was shocking the other two losses recently were on three points. I mean, they just are inconsistent, but they're good enough to get there. I thought early on, Arkansas was, but it's hard to, right now, Arkansas is just trying to get into the tournament. And they also talk about I don't think they're on other final four team. Arkansas come to Kentucky and was very impressive. But they're just not consistent though. Well, now they're not. That's the problem. And that's what you got to be one of the term that comes in. You've got to get 6 games. So there you go. Thank you for taking my call. And right now, just for fun. And that's all it is. These brackets are out. Tomorrow, the NCAA will actually come out with who they think are the top. That was at 16 teams. How they would rank them at this moment. But one of the brachetto has a play in game in Dayton to 11 versus 11 and the 11 to 11s are Kentucky and North Carolina. That would be the all time playing game. Joe is an Arkansas Joe, you're on the air.

"Would be Bama old miss and Florida. Chris, I think we're, I think the guessing game is fun. I don't think any of us really know because you just can't pick the most obvious programmed. Why? Because you have 16 different combinations you have to make work. So you could probably put Florida LSU, auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and 6 or 7 dance cards. That's why it's more difficult to guess. Allen is in Georgia. Hey, Alan, you're on the air. Hey, Paul, what's going on, man? I appreciate you taking my call. Thank you. Hey, I was just calling about Bobo sliding into the offensive coordinator. And I want to touch on what says said yesterday, you know, people forget that when he was the coordinator back with Rick that we scored more points than Georgia had in the history of Georgia with less talent and the defense that Kirby has right now and the playmakers that will have it is disposal. I mean, you just look at it, man. They've got the band back together, it's him and muschamp. And Kirby all together. They've got to be heaven so much fun right now. I mean, I know it's business with Kirby all the time. But nobody can tell me that he doesn't like coaching with his buddies and having the success that they're having right now. I mean, it's got to be a lot of fun in Athens right now. Well, it does. And I agree. I mean, the negativity on Bobo was out there, but the defense of Georgia today or the difference. I mean, monken was good, but right, for sure. But there were plenty of times when that Georgia offense looked pretty weak. Yeah, I mean, there were times when it had some bad play calls and things like that. But I mean, that's the big defense is going to bail them out. And like I said, they must champ Kirby trust my Kirby trust Bobo, they're all buddies. They've all played together. You know, they're enjoying the success right now at EGA and the talent that they've got on both sides of the ball. I mean, it's just it shouldn't be that difficult for him. I mean, I mean, when he went to South Carolina, and I mean, there's just so much, there's so much talent there. I don't know. I mean, I think when people criticize Bobo, what's the basis of it? Is it something Mark Rick was the head coach? He was also an offensive minded coach. So you always have to factor that into the equation, I always discount the offensive coordinator a little bit when the guy you work for used to be an offensive coordinator. The offensive coordinators, I think are more important when they're coaching for somebody like Nick Saban, who's a defensive coordinator. Now obviously the offensive coordinator is critical at Georgia, but you can't hold the Mark Rick experience against Bobo. His head coaching career was pretty middling and really after that he took too bad jobs. And that's the problem. He ended up burning some of his reputation in the process. We'll take a break. More to come on the program Barry Switzer later on, your phone calls

Hey, Dennis, Dennis was great, but she probably has the best backdrop of any guest you have on there. I like that. I mean, I see a lot of it because we do a lot of shows together during the fall. Right. The only thing she's missing is the Paul Feynman bottle head and she'd be complete. I thought her analysis of Notre-Dame was excellent, but if they're going to grab Parker, they should look at his resume over at West Virginia. He's accomplished nothing. And by the way, not to, I don't know much about it, but John, when you crush an interview, so what? Too many people get jobs based on the interview versus what they've done when it really matters, like during games. Absolutely. Stewart banned as he discussed the PAC 12 now going to pack ten. It got me thinking again, Paul, that Fox is kind of in charge of things. They did the due diligence on Washington and Oregon, which badly wanted to join the Big Ten. And I heard that they were offered half a share each. And I'm wondering why they would sign a grant of rights to join the new media package over at the PAC ten when they're bringing in what? SMU and San Diego. It just seems like fox is pushing them toward the Big Ten. What do you think? Yeah, I think it's possible. And John, I think they're waiting, they're waiting clear cough out and he needs to hit a big home run here because so far he has not done anything in that position. Thank you for the call. Ben is in Florida. Hey Ben, go right ahead. Hey, Paul. Thank you for taking my call. Thank you. You're on my bucket list. So I'm taking that off today. Thank you very much. Yes, it's okay for me to call. I didn't go to the SEC school. I went to Florida state, Bill Peterson at that time was our coach. I was class of 62. And we didn't play very good, but we had the light on the horizon with Steve, Tennessee and Fred bellett and the cough coming in. Those are pretty good players. They were. And Fred used to hang out at our paternity house because we had a player, his name was Pete Manning. He was finishing off his degree during the spring semester and he was he played pro ball for the Chicago Bears. He was a DB. And he was a very delightful person could tell great stories. He told her about the time that he tackled Jim Brown on they were playing the Cleveland Browns. And four days later, when Pete said when he woke up in the hospital, he was allowed to see the head on his fingers and toes and arms and legs and teeth and he was able to even spell his name after three tries. So these are some of the things that it could be argued I don't think it's it really is much of an argument Jim Brown is the greatest player ever. I know I wouldn't have wanted to attack him with three of me. And so have you ever played, but I've talked to too many people who played against him or were experts and there's never been anything anyone quite like him in terms of athleticism. Hey, thank you for the call Dustin is up next. Hey, good morning, Paul. Hello. Listen, I heard the call yesterday, somebody wondering why I always say good morning and then you were kind of wondering why I always say good morning and I guess it's time for me to come clean. My name's not Dustin. I'm actually Todd mcshay. And this is the best way I could think of to get back at you for some of your critiques was to call in to your show as a guy named Dustin for president. I think I would love to respond, but I am, I am precluded from ever mentioning his name again. I understand. Now, I guess the reason I did it is just because that first time I called in, I was just being silly and I was like, oh, I'll just say good morning and you caught it and you mentioned Tulsa time and I do love that done Williams song. And so I've just done that ever since, but there's no real rhyme or reason to it of and just me being silly and playful. It is noticeable. So I think it's fine. You don't know. Somebody might be watching this show tomorrow morning. Maybe so. Or they recorded it. I work a job where it's you have to be really professional all the time and things are pretty serious. So I usually duck into an unused meeting room and call ya during the day, it's kind of a little levity for me. I did want to ask you real quick. I know you like the guys on Saturday down south. And so do I, but they released back to back a couple of articles that I just thought were way off. Yesterday, Connor had one that basically said that Kirby's smart bringing Mike Bobo up was he called it a misstep and a mistake. And then today, another guy wrote an article that said that between Georgia and Alabama's turnover and their missteps in the off season that this is going to open the door for the Big Ten to become a championship contender for real. And he even went on so far as to say that if it hadn't been for Michigan's playoff failures, that they would probably go into Mexico as the favorite to win the national title. I can't agree with that at all, but I did want to hear what your thoughts are on that. Well, listen, for those writers out there who have to create copy every day, I sympathize with them. But Bobo is essentially low hanging fruit. I know people that will stand by him. I mean, the problem with Bobo is South Carolina and then getting fired by harsh and that will be to lose your job working for Brian harsh and is really, it's amazing he was able to find a job after that. So I think that's what he's fighting more than anything else. It probably didn't help that Mark Rick came out today and endorsed him because people are people look at Georgia as Kirby smarts program. Even though Mark Rick did a good job, he never got them where they are now. And I think that's held against boba. We'll talk more about Bobo in the future. More of your phone calls, Barry Switzer later on. We are back after this. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. "mark rick" Discussed on The Paul Finebaum Show

"Passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul finebaum show best of podcast. Welcome back a lot happening this hour with check in with NATO to a little bit later on, big game tomorrow against Tennessee. Number one team in the country, but first, the big news of this day in the SEC and that's the departure of the two time national championship winning offensive coordinator at the university of Georgia Todd munch and heading to the ravens and the NFL and Seth Emerson joining us right now to give us the latest chef. Thanks for the time. Good afternoon. Appreciate you being here. Tell us what this means to Kirby smart as he attempts to win a three peat. How are you? Well, thanks. Paul, for having me on. Hope you're doing well. It kind of gives us a fresh angle for 2023, already knew that Georgia would be working in a new quarterback, how do you replace stetson Bennett? And now how do you replace Todd munken? We do know who the new offensive coordinator will be and that's Mike bogo. I kind of thought that was what was going to happen all along. And it's good, Paul. I was a little worried that the discourse around here would be a little too just stable after winning two rings. Stetson Bennett discourse happened for three years and he settled that at the end. Pretty much nobody holding out on whether he's a very good quarterback and now we've got a Mike Bobo discourse to go back to and act like it's 2012 and 2013 all over again. And he kind of settled the issue Bobo did back in 2014 and he guided the all time highest scoring offense in Georgia history, but since then, especially with the way things went in South Carolina and then auburn when he was back in the SEC as a coordinator kind of gotten some grist for the mill. Mike Mike Bobo doubters again. So this will be this will be a lot more interesting year, Paul. I checked in with somebody that knows Bobo Riley and I said, what's up with this guy? Because I remembered when he had a good reputation, but working in South Carolina and obviously for Brian harsh and the damage to that as well as the Colorado state head coaching experience. So what should Georgia fans expect from Mike Bobo? Well, I wrote a column today and I think there's a lot of people that are either remembering the early years of Bobo at Georgia and reming that too much without accounting for how well the offense was rolling by the time he left. And then there's people also looking at the auburn and South Carolina experiences. Look, Oliver and 2021 was a dumpster fire. South Carolina kind of was too. In both that case, must champ got fired during the year in Brooklyn to the actually being an interim coach. He did not have the talent on those two teams that he will have at Georgia. He also will have more talent now than he did at Georgia the first time around. Now there was talent there, but go back and look at the players and where they went to the NFL on those 2012, 1314 teams. You've got your chubs and Michelle's and girlies, David Andrews starting center with patriots. But not as many as are going to be on next year's offense. He also except for one year at Georgia in 2011. Never had a defense, like he's going to you expect him to have to lean on at Georgia. That was one of the great failings. One of the reasons that Mark Rick was never able to close the deal is he hardly ever had the offense in the defense really good at the same time. And for the last few years, it was basically the defense. Pulling them back. And Mike bubble's offense doing well. So I think that's what Kirby smart is banking on. And I also think that Kirby smart is banking on that they're going to run the Todd munchkin system. Mike Bobo watched Todd munchkin do it all this past year. And I bet Todd monkey was consulted on the way out by Kirby smart. And probably told him, I think Mike Bobo contributed a lot this year as an analyst and you should seriously consider him if not to be crazy not to hire him. Speaking of monkey, was it inevitable that he was going back to the NFL? He'd been there before and he seemed like his name was linked to a lot of jobs. Yeah, yeah. And I think he only interviewed two places, Tampa Bay, it just was Brady leaving Todd Bowles, not on firm ground next year, they're up against it on the cap. I don't think monkey was that interested there. But I think he was interested in the ravens, I mean, obviously he was very interested in them. But it was interested in them regardless of whether Lamar Jackson will be back there. John Harbaugh is seem to be much more stable there. Ravens are just kind of a stable organization in general. And I think Todd munk and a lot of coaches that go NFL to college, they discover that they have a lot more on their plate in college. The recruiting and all other facets that come with it, make it a real 52 week job. Now you get maybe a couple of weeks total here and there. But the NFL, you got more off time. And you can just coach basically. I mean, you have to do some draft evaluation and more teams are bringing their coaches into the drafts valuation process. But you do have a whole scouting department and personnel department. There's just a lot more on the plate for college coaches and I think Todd munchkin was ready to go back. I think he was happy to be at Georgia. I think it helped burnish his reputation again after a year at Cleveland in 2019 where he honestly wasn't even a play caller, but it didn't end well for him there. So he wasn't getting NFL offensive coordinator nibbles at that point, but he did it at Georgia. He won two rings and I think he's happy to go back to the NFL, which is less of a brand. Seth, before we change subjects, everyone's picking Georgia to win understandably with the success and the talent. But as somebody who's around that program every day and maybe see things, the rest of us don't. Are we on the right track here? Should Georgia definitely be the pick to win it all? I mean, I guess people are now in the mode of let's not give Kirby smart any reason to twist our words into we are doubting Georgia. Because there are pre season number three last year and yet it turned into everyone was doubting us. And nobody picked us to make the playoffs, even though many, many people picked them to make the playoffs. There's still going to be a lot of talent on this team, but when you're around the team every day, you do see the potential flaws. So is Carson Beck, if he wins the starting quarterback job is he a winner? The same way that stetson Bennett proved to be.

"And that would put you in the top. Five in recruiting every sees speaking being the top five recruiting kirby. Smart is always there and we we already know what the results have been but what makes him so unique as a recruiter Well i think that what helps him. He's got a tremendous staff At georgia and what he's been able to do in recruiting recruiting not been the front front thing for them. They're number one thing on the assistant coaches they get but they do such a great job of selling the georgia brand. It's almost like no georgia's fans don't want to hear this. But it's almost like it's the alabama the east. It's the program everybody that wants to go to outside of alabama in the sec. Everybody kind of has is on them. They've done a great job with receivers. They've had some great quarterbacks if that's edge rushers and of course they've had fantastic running backs every single year if got that proven track record of not only being able to compete for championships but also develop into nfl type players. And it didn't start with kirby smart this is going back and mark mark ricks time there but the the issue going back to projections for this coming season beyond is at kirby smart more or less his done just a little bit better on the field then mark. Rick did and like it or not. That's just the record. Go look at it. Go compare the two right now. But kirby smart is returning a little bit better than mark rick. So don't you think you should be doing a little bit better. Mark did in his tenure. I think so. That's why. I think that they should definitely be a contender for the national championship. This season whether they do. I don't know if i believe it but they need to no doubt We will continue to follow the story brandon. Thank you as always dropping by very very Very interesting comment. "That is the number to call and I am Steve. Trouble leaves and you and I will be hanging out till 11 o'clock tonight. Trivia at 10, a special guest Grammy Award winning comedian done, Jamison. That Emmy Emmy Award winning comedian Don Jamison. Hey, got something on you may know him as the co host of that metal show on VH one. They know him from the beard barely commercials. You may know from Uncle Benny's Comedy club where he's gonna be this weekend. We're gonna be giving away tickets and your money. That's what it was. And I said, Why And we're gonna be talking to Mark Rick Adana. Another very funny comic who travels a lot with the U. S ome. That'll be in the 10. O'clock hour. Uh, right now, this is like the nightmare that will not go away. I was just talking about it on Facebook live and I welcome you came with me. It's like the classic horror film Friday. The 13th, which by the Way, was filmed in New Jersey. Like when every time you think Jason's dead, he comes back to life. Just to make it even more scarier. Remember Stephen King's Christine that Anna and Anna where no matter how much damage is done to the car? It does the same thing. It fixes itself and the very, very end of Christine, where you think it's over the I don't want to give away the ending. But all you do is you see the car and all of a sudden you see it start to fix itself and you get that little jolt. This is it. This is like what we have in New Jersey. The mask mandate. This time. It's about the Children mask mandate for what exactly do we have to do to finally kill Governor Murphy's mask mandate every time we think it's done every time we think we'll be able to rip these freaking mass off and go about our life. Something else. No, no, no, no, no, no. We still gotta like kids on the 12, where the mask Because they're in school, and you can't get a vaccine on the 12. I mean, what do we have to do with the masked man? They drive a stake through its heart while wearing a garlic necklace. And then we fry that garlic with some steak and they had some peppers and onions jerseys. What we know, E just this is so stupid. And the latest episode of As the Mask wears has Children and elementary schools forced to wear them because they're too young for the vaccine. These Children have an incredibly low risk of contracting or spreading the cove. It made even worse. With the number of people in New Jersey who have been vaccinated who are getting the vaccine and by the way you should've held out for the vaccine in New York. I hear they're giving away like college education, along with room and board seriously. Ridiculous. Is this What's next season? Tickets for the Knicks? Four pair if you get the fax? Yeah. Ah, I mean, why would schools be forcing kids to continue to wear masks in elementary schools? When their parents could take him off at work. Is it about the lack of vaccines or the fear of liability? Should have student actually infect someone as low as those odds would actually be? Said about the government's job to ruin your body or to run. Your body is the government's job to run your state. You know what to keep your taxes down. Theo make this a great place to live New Jersey They have not been doing a good job of that. As they hide behind the covert excuse. When it comes to dealing with Cove it you've been given everything you need. Got information education. You got vaccines. You got treatments. Everything you need to deal with. This virus is that you work with disposal. So now it's up to you. If you're still afraid to go outside, don't go outside. Stay inside. If you're afraid to take off the mask, leave the mask on whatever you want to do. I was in post office the other day and Is a woman in there. I'm wearing a mask. She's wearing the mask. You know, as I can't wait to keep these two Take these stupid masks off to which he replies Well as a nurse. I'm leaving mine on so good. You leave yours on. I'll take mine off. I think it's ass tonight. Uh, you know what I'd drop in and I'm gonna leave my noisy God bless you. I mean, you know you're gonna still see people running around with the masks. But if you have a child Under 12. How is this whole mask thing? Working out? How did you sell it to them? Are they afraid of a nervous How do they go about their day? We had every pine, the nurse telling us. You know the way these kids were mask. It's messing him up. Poster a job. And rightfully so. I mean, if you're not obeying the rules of your job, you shouldn't have your job. I mean, that's but it's not about disagreeing with her beliefs, which I agree with. But how do you feel about it? 1 802 831 on 1.5. Should students under 12 Elementary students under 12 before is to wear masks of school. Simply because there's not a vaccine. Is anybody afraid? Are you afraid that your little baby you're a little child? Is going to pick up to Calvin and bring it home and spread it because they don't have a mask. Is it a good idea or bad idea? I got a Twitter poll up. Follow me A real Steve trip, But how do you feel about it? And you know not everybody is on board with us, Of course. Uh, Group of parents held the protest outside Point Pleasant Board of Education meeting on Monday over the mask wearing The coal couple, Guano told News 12, New Jersey that mask wearing teaches Children to live in fear caused them headaches and dizziness. Middletown's hat You have updated their policy to allow students to unmask while outdoors is temperatures get warmer. That's another thing. As hot as it gets in schools, and I got them wearing masks. It's just messes up their psyche. There's so young, they don't understand this and is it really doing anything? Emily is in key port a New Jersey one or 1.5. Let's get Emily. Right on. How you doing, Emily? Hi. Hi. I'm good. What do you think? How are you? I'm good. What You thought of you. It's absolute child abuse. My son is eight. He wears the mask all day. He has special needs, And I'm very surprised that he Well where this math and he has been wearing a mask if he went back to school, you started school in July because he goes to a special needs school, and they have a different type of, you know, like program, but I think it's absolute child abuse. He should not be wearing a mask and all the teachers have been vaccinated. So that's my piece. Thank you very much. Emily. Thanks for calling New Jersey one of 1.5. What's the point? Who's really being saved in this who was really a Where's the prevention really coming in? 1 802 831 on 1.5 Steve Travel East and I said, I got the pole and I got the pole on Twitter. Should elementary school school students under the age of 12 have to wear a mask in New Jersey. I think it's insane. What do you think? 1 802 831 on 1.5 is the Jersey one a 1.5 fast traffic. "Going to read you a comment. That danny sheridan gave to us. I think it was about a week ago. Danny was picking the final four and he georgia to go to the final four this coming season and he said i would say the fourteen would be. George think georgia is loaded in. Georgia does not win this year. They are not going to win for a long time. And by that i mean. Get to the final four. Do you think this is the season as georgia is. Getting playoff are bus for kirby smart and his team. Yeah i've heard that the last few years in kirby keeps finding players in georgia keep finding ways to contend being a contender and actually doing. It are two different things. But what georgia's john paul. As they've stayed in the conversation or as curry says you gotta keep getting those at bats and when he finished in the top ten. Four straight years as georgia's don you recruit as well as kirby has you give yourself a chance and georgia's become known as a place that quarterbacks like to come now. The results have not always blossomed. Is much as people would like but you look at this roster now and jt daniels. Looks like one of the best quarterbacks in the country coming back. He's a former five-star they signed broadband. A grip he was a five star. Wants committed oklahoma. Now they've got gunner stockton committed a twenty twenty two five star. I mean my goodness talent is everywhere and now it's just a matter georgia finishing the job on football field. Which brings me one more comment and we don't we. Don't go out looking at other shows to bring you information. We take it from our own program. And i believe those two weeks ago booger mcfarland. We all know boogers credentials. He said this on on our show he said if you are a bulldog fan and you're going to sit there and stare honestly in the eye kirby has done less with more than maybe even mark. Rick how would you respond to that. Wow i guess. I'd say first of all you've got to get more right. You've got to have those recruiting classes in the top two or three. That's a good problem to apple and as far as doing more with less they're less with pernille they're getting ready. You can't if you can't finish the job though mike. That's i mean you're you're you're you're you're playing right in to what these guys are saying georgia out recruit anyone would maybe the exception of alabama But when are they going to finish the job. That's the question that georgia fans are asking. Yeah it's it's been tough when you win the sec. Three years in a row. And you lose to alabama in the sec championship. Game and twenty eight teeny get left out of the playoff for you. Come within one play of winning the national title twenty seventeen. I mean. i can't answer those questions for you. Know it's funny. You had ryan mcgee up there a few minutes ago talking about the late. Great dale earnhardt. He didn't win the daytona five hundred until his twentieth attempt. So those big game. Victories can be kind of a lucid. And i think that's happened for george. Remember paul kirby smart is only forty five years old. This is only year six for him. You look at how long it took guys. Like steve spurrier and nick sabin and they were six seven years into their careers before they got their national titles.

"Region. It's morning. McGee on ESPN radio. The useful happen the S E. C network also by asking her smart speaker to play ESPN radio. Hey, Smart Speaker Make me cry. I mean, what happened if he plays fii Jake, so to me? And I said this to Mark Miller myself. The late singer Sawyer Brown. So I listen to the walk about every other day because it makes me sad. It makes me think of my dad. It makes me think of that progression through life. And all that beautiful, phenomenally well done Song. It's not even Sawyer Brown satis on All these years is I mean, that song is gutting. Oh, Remember when they were all star search? Yeah, that's hold on a one star. I mean, they were. They were dominated the two it was those guys and Sinbad. Wasn't dominated Star search you, he told he told me the whole story. It's fascinating man. It's just a fascinating deal like they didn't have any clothes. They went out there. Yeah, they went out to L. A And they had no clothes. And, you know, they did one audition thinking art. All they wanted was the tape. They wanted. The tape of them. Performance will be on stage so that they could send it the hunky tones to show these guys you should book us. Then the next thing you know, they got a record deal because they've won star search. They went all his money. And off they go. They've been at it ever since you studs those a long time ago. Long time ago. 1984 I think I love how you just casually. Like I love how you just casually say, and I've told the lead singer Sorry's right. E wants That song means to me. It does. Man means the world to me. Remember that time? Look about that song. Holes in the floor ahead. That Colin Rea Collin Raye would break it down. I think it was going racing holes in the floor of heaven. I wanna crush you too. Dude, I saw Colin Ray play at the Hartford Civic Center. Did you? Yeah. Did you pregame at the free free free game at the honky tonk bar by this isn't it turned out there? What's the name of the What is it? It's not kindly Josie Charter was holding the floor of heaven. Okay, okay. Steve Warner, by the way. At one point Steve Warner and Mark Rick looked a little like both had a sweet mullet dip. I would see Mark Russell and I would say, Oh, he looks like people like Steve Warner. Ugo. Good morning, Los Angeles said was we're breaking it down with that. Mark Rick. The A C C network. Looks like you know a great market today morning. Yeah. So Marguerite when he was the head coach at Georgia and Miami, but At the open of camp every fall every summer. I guess he would have a pool party. And he'd do a backflip off like the 10 M high dive as this ceremonial beginning of camp, the shotgun start of fall came. Okay. You wanna know why I did that? Because when he was a quarterback at the University of Miami back in the eighties, I think eighties Uh, He befriended this dude who was like they would be at the pool. And there was this dude who was this like diving savant. Maybe. Like who is this guy? So one day Coach Rick walks over and he's like, Hey, man, What's your deal with this diving man? You like like a pro or something? It was Greg Louganis. Regular Jane is there, boys, man? Yeah, they're tight. I did not know that about that. And so, so that's co tricks deal. We should have him on to tell the story one day. Mark Richt, Boca Raton High School. And was voted all turnpike. Oh, I've heard a lot of all something too. I mean, there's even all Marty Magee team all turnpike. That's a new alter, but he played at Miami. Uh, quarterback back up to Jim Jim Killers back up, correct and also played, Uh, behind Vinny Testaverde, Bernie Cozaar. And he was there 78 82 under Howard selling where you go. And how about this? I wonder if your all turn Pike that you get a son pass. Oh, hey, is that a part? Is that part of becoming all term types of some past somewhat Boca Raton and Howard selling burgers so going down the Homestead Miami Speedway for the NASCAR finale one year? It was travel chaos. And I ended up not like a flight to Miami was canceled. So I jumped on the flight shocking into Fort Lauderdale, I think flew into Fort Lord l hauling freight down the homestead. It's a long drive. And I'm driving along and I'm just scanning on the radio free satellite radio scamming on the radio. And I hear Hey, folks coming up next. It's the Howard Schnellenberger show. Love from the Boca Raton, Hooters and I look up at the exit sign, and there's an exit like next three exits. Boca Raton, So I jumped off the thing. And I like found the Boca Raton. Hooters and I walked in there and I sat there and what watched How you kid? I want house normally, How are silver had just started had just taken over the FAA, You head coach. And I sat there there were. There were nine people in that Hooters and I was sat there had some wings Mikey C. And I sat there and watched Howard Schnellenberger and the voice of the FAA you Al's. Do like the Howard Stella Burger show, and he was starting the program like it was still a brand new thing, And he's the hero because he really started Miami football and when it was over with Coach Schnellenberger proceeded to walk around the Hooters and thank everybody for coming out listening to radio shows only eight of us And he walked over and he says Coachella Burger, and he sat down.
