This is the Paul fine bomb show our two podcast. Ross dellinger in about 30 minutes from Sports Illustrated he covered the meetings yesterday between the two conference commissioners, clear coffins, thank you with several United States senators trying to get some help. Let's get back to the calls and augie is up next. Paul, speaking of raw selling here, there was an idiot around here, kept calling him Ross dillinger. I'm like, wait, wait a second. I don't think he carries a machine gun. And it was great to hear from Dwayne Paul, another human interest story. And you're responsible for that. I've talked Dwayne from time to time, and I owe him a call. It's been a while. And I mean, I thought that word that Jim was using to describe Matt was a little harsh. The P word. I guess that's one of those borderline words, right? Well, I don't think you'll go to jail for saying it, but. It's a tweener word polite society, right? Yeah. I happen to, by the way, I happen to like the word though. Oh, it's a great word. Yeah. There's a counter word that refers to the other gender, but I won't get any batteries. Yeah, no, that will get you a little more trouble, I think. That's the one that really gets people you can say a lot of things, when you say that word. You are not going to survive that one in the public domain. No way. And your kind of the elderly and the dementia today when you said that Larry had a limited vocabulary, there are other ways to discriminate that. But it was interesting yesterday, Larry dim on all fired up about me because he thought I was attacking his son. And then you came to not to the rescue, but you did cite that his son did sound like he had been drinking and Larry said, no, he's not drinking. He was smoking a doobie like that was better than drinking. Drinking is legal, smoking prohibited vegetation is not. So why were you told you that if he was upset with the alcohol bit? Yeah, I don't mean to listen. You're asking me to do something I'm not qualified to do. And that's to figure out the mind of that that is a to get that issue getting the P brag of Larry from Shelby and try to figure out what he means. Imagine giving Larry a badge and a gun and telling him to keep the community safe. No. And you heard and you've heard the way he used to keep it safe. I've heard the stories. I mean, he might be good for certain colors on the show, but for the rest of us law abiding citizens, which it feels safe with the Larry walking around with a gun. No. I wouldn't either. But Paul, I just heard some new rest startling news. Who's been leaving? Mark QB echo who has here day one. Now, again, I realize some of you go back beyond the television, but he was here for day one of the television show. Are you going to have to give a little just a little Queen? Yes, he will be here late in the show. Explaining wise leaving. So really, it's interesting because when this show launched on the SEC network in August of 2014, there were two producers in after today, were you here, Randy? Are you already the two producers will be gone? Who would have ever taught I would have outlawed lasted them? Well, the way I see it is part of the adult supervision of the show. Oh, yeah. Who's going to provide that now that he's gone? Yeah, we don't know what the succession plan looks like. We will know shortly. And then you're asking me to try to get into the minds of ESPN suits. So you don't have to have like, at least 60% of the way over that well, I do know who is being considered, but here's where it gets tricky. Exactly how all this comes out in the wash is unknown. Sure. Well, I think it's going to be a big loss and I propose that we take up and start an NIL collective before the end of the day to see if we can keep them. Do you think that's possible? No, I don't. I feel like, you know, I feel like about this augie and this is awkward saying it in front of him. But yeah, when somebody is committed to doing something else, you have to let them do it. Right, Randy? You can't stop them. And. I've been where he is about to leave and I've heard the pleas. And you have to be determined. You just have to make up your mind. You can't let a couple of bucks affect what you do. And I've been in that situation about 14 times in my life. But I just want to say this to Chris, if you I'm sure you can hear, I absolutely appreciate everything that you've done for the show and you've done a lot of entertainment for me and a lot of people say thanks for thank you for your service. Thanks, Paul. Thank you very much. Feel like somebody's about to come out and start humming. Thanks for the memories. Let's get Bob Hope to do that. Let's try Kyle next in Miami. Hello, Kyle. Hey, Paul. My question is with Miami as a private school and recently it seems like they finally invested the finances necessary to compete with the bigger programs. They hired Clemson's AD. They got Mario Cristobal in there now. What is your reasonable three to 5 year outlook on what Miami can be and what they'll do? Kyle, I would be very disappointed if Miami does not become a contender for the college football playoff in a reasonably short window. Two to 5 years somewhere in there. And the reason I say that is they have some adults down there now. Write a COVID is considered one of the best ads in the country. I think the previous guy was okay, but he was not in Dan radovic's league. And I happened to think Mario Cristobal is one of the top ten coaches around. And one of the best recruiters. So when you add that to the current state we're in plus his ties to the school, I think it's a winning combination. Who would you think has a better outlook three to 5 years between Florida's big three? Miami, Florida, Florida state. Well, I think it comes down to Florida and Miami. I'll give Miami a little bit of a head start for this reason. Their path is much easier. And I think winning the ACC will be easier than winning the east division or winning the SEC for building Napier. I really do like Napier. I think people will be surprised if not shocked at how much how much is going on right now in Gainesville. And how much has needed to go on for a long time. But I think Florida was stuck in the past for a lot of reasons. But they are not anymore. I would say I'd give Miami a little bit of an edge because of only having to really be a handful of teams versus the usual suspects in the SEC..

"Welcome back here on a Friday afternoon and you guys ready for this guy? Ready? Handsome Joe from red day. Yeah. I'm actually having a pretty good day. Went to Walmart got mold, James. Went and got me some drinks and kicking and grays and piggy wiggly. And finally made it on. But that's the stuff that you might not know, Paul. But when I have these late days, I record your show and I watch every minute of it in 18. You do. So I do. I do. Watch every minute of it. And you know what? It's been good because you've had a lot of colors Colin in with some good things about this and I don't think and which I think it's long past due for these college athletes to make put some money in their pockets. I mean it is. I just caused their scholarship athletes. Hey, there's people that go to college academic and they can still get a job and make money. I mean, it's just, but if you play football or basketball, you can't make no money, that don't even make sense, though. I mean, what they're doing, college, you can't afford to go get a piece of pizza. And my head just, you know, that just mount painting on that ball. But you know what? I watched the video. I don't know if you seen it, but I may have put out where he's gambling on the guitar. I have not seen the video yet. Tell us more about it. I mean, it's like almost a minute long. And he's just, you know, I know he played drone, but I didn't know he played a guitar. He usually, if you're in a band, you could probably, I mean, I would think I would think percussion would be more difficult than the guitar. Oh, idiot. It is, 'cause, you know, I'll pick a Madeleine sometime. Well, I did tell I broke it. But and the piano, you know, I think I was a little bit. Can you play any of Beethoven's sonatas on a piano? It's difficult, Paul. I'll be honest. I've been teaching myself. And when you teach yourself, it's kind of hard. Joe, I have to ask you a question, because, you know, Mark QB act, don't you Yankee that runs this show? Oh, yeah, yeah. Mark scoop. Well, he's from Rochester, New York, and he asked me, he said, did he say, guitar? Of course, anybody in the south knows it's a guitar. Yeah, it's guitar. Randy plays Lee, and I play steel guitar. Guitar. That's a country over in the Mideast, isn't it? Yeah, that's what I play in in. Yeah, life plays a guitar. In India, we'll play the guitar here. Yeah. I mean, there's a big difference. The guitar. You think anybody you think back in the day, somebody walked up to back in the early 70s, somebody walked up to Ronnie Van Zandt, saying, who is your guitar player, mister van Sant? Never been to Indy. Yeah. You know, I want to get into what you've got on the guitar. That comes with a guitar guitar. So Joe, what's on tap of the weekend now that it has arrived, hey, I got big plan just like you. Shoot. Well, first thing I'm gonna do in the morning, as soon as I get up, I'm going fishing. Fishing. And a friend of mine reminded me that Benson that we got coffee in this area too. Crappy. Oh, yeah, I remember crappy. Is that how I learned to speak? My dad used to take me. I've had a crappy week. And you know, but I'm fishing for catfish tomorrow. You got to play him, Paul. Final question here, because when you're fishing, when you're fishing for croppy, what do you put? How do you bait it? I just get out there. With my guitar and put those minutes on the hook. But the main element. And I'm having myself a weekend. Thanks for the call. Appreciate it. Kevin is in North Carolina. Hello, Kevin. Kevin. I'm telling you, I missed your calling. You should have been a comic in the catskills in the summertime. This has got to be the funniest damn show I've heard in a while. I'm still laughing from the, by the way, I may be I'm opening for Buddy Hackett at gross singers on Friday night. Well, catskills. Yeah, at least you know where they were, brother. I know the drill. I had parents from New York, but so anyway, I'm still just going to finish laughing on the boy scout thing. What did you call that? What kind of meadow would I get? I don't know what I said. Wasn't that I was in the cubs guys? What is a Pueblo? I'm sorry. I knew I got that. I mean, we're going back a few years. I mean, I knew I had that web a little badge. Well, okay. That wasn't in there. I don't know where I was in. I was a street kid, I guess, but anyway. By the way, I didn't stay long. I got your meat. Yeah, they couldn't get me into that uni. But anyway, just to clarify for that, Texas a and M gentlemen, you know, you had Jackie sherrill on here four or 5 months ago. And I think he explained it to us when you talk about, do you say in that Texas that all money that they found out there a 120, 30 years ago in West Texas. Right. That money is tax taxed in the state. You're right. And two thirds of that money goes to the University of Texas. One third goes to Texas a and M, obviously no private school in Texas gets a dime, nor do Texas tech or Houston or any of the other public schools, Texas, El Paso, they don't get a dime. So that's the money, okay? That you were talking about that he never fessed up to. Played dumb like a fox on you. But anyway, I think everybody out there knows that. But curious a way outside the box thing here. You know, this transfer Porter and the NIL, my man, nobody that you interviewed can really give nobody knows what they're talking about because it's so new and it's so crazy and it can go in so many different directions, obviously. But just a way outside the box trying to reverse engineer this. What if the Ivy League decides to go big time college football? I remember the eye relief. They won most of the national championships between 1891 college football started in the 1930. Michigan won one. By the way, I think I know where you're going. I don't think they will for this reason because I don't think the alumni of those schools care. We heard John bacon a couple of hours ago. Say that Michigan alum are not certain they want to give money to collectibles, supporting athletics. You have to understand it's a different mindset at certain places. The Ivy League being among them..

"I don't know, but do you want for them? Do they want to be able to stand up for the person they care about? Yeah, and I think there's something that's okay about that, you know? And by the way, I was a reminder of a conversation how was your dad? This is like, you know, totally different, but, you know, back in back in the day, you go meet somebody's parents. That's how I felt. You're dead. I don't think I've ever told you that. When we were thrown together to work, the first two people hired to do the show on Saturday morning. One of the first weeks out, I happened to be grabbing some coffee and he said, can I speak to you? I said, yes, mister Tebow, whatever you want. He just wanted to understand my philosophy and because he was concerned about you. And I said, listen, I think I gave him a feeling about Tim Tebow immediately. And you could tell he appreciate what I had to say, but he also let it be known that we'll see. We'll see if that's what that was, but it was important. I mean, I knew you were in a different environment. You were in the media now. You weren't being the subject. And he was concerned how that would go. I think there's, you know, and I think there's a place obviously it's like, you know, sometimes you're like, you don't want loved ones to get involved. But then, you know, I think we see it so much now in those examples that I just gave and, you know, I think it's hard sometimes for them to sit out, you know? And, you know, I just got an encouraging texture of my wife a second ago about something different, you know? Like she wants to be involved and I want to be involved with her stuff. And when she's giving away her crown as Miss Universe, you know, I was flying to Thailand to be able to be there supportive and you know, I think one of the ways that people feel like they can support now, which I don't know if it's always good, but is on social media. Sure. Because then it's such a backlash from so many other people, you know? And so it's kind of a catch 22. No, I mean, and I can speak not in many things as an expert, but as a media member, I can speak as an expert, and we love nothing more when we cover a team to have a loved one come back at us, because that just gives us a week's worth of conversation. I'm sure you do love that. I've had I may do a book one day on the coach's wives who have accosted me in a corner nearly killed me because it's a long list. Voted your former college coach. I don't need to go there. But I did come away with an appreciation of Shelley Meyer though, because she spoke up. And I listened. And sometimes we're too quick to I think that's a good point. I think sometimes one of the most important things is just be willing to have a conversation, right? Is sit down and I think we're very quick to speak. We're very slow to listen. And I think it would help a lot of things if we were a little bit quicker to listen and we just waited a second before we spoke sometimes. And kind of understood. It doesn't mean we have to agree. Just means if we have enough respect for one another to be able to listen to where they're coming from and their perspective and their understanding, just a fantastic conversation with Tim Tebow, Tim, many thanks for that. We'll be back we're live in Tuscaloosa. You are listening to the Paul find show podcast. Every day, I just show comes on the area here, call Paul. I mean, kids hum it to me when I travel. The man who wrote it and sing and sings it. Taylor Hicks. How are you doing? I'm doing really good Paul. How are you? I'm doing great. It's so good to see you down here on the crane works plane and you've flown in that thing before. I used to be a beer co-pilot for David Upton back in my early days. There's David over there with his grandson. Pretty interesting story with pad Thai about that. Yeah, it's one of the it's one of the great stories ever coach die and I were having minor tiff it wasn't hard to have and David said, I'll tell you what, let's go see him. And I thought, okay, we'll get in the car. And drive an hour and a half. And I met David and we got a helicopter. And I don't mean this to be smart, David Upton. He said, one of the most successful businessmen in the south in the country with crane works. But I didn't realize he flew a helicopter. And I kept looking for, like, where's the pilot? He said, I am the proud. Man, I would coach die though. Yeah, the great part of the story is that coach Diane spent hours chatting and had one of the great conversations of my life. The bad part was flying to and from Birmingham down to where was that, David? Down near auburn. I mean, I don't know if I look down there. I remember when you were 6 years old. You said you were green Paul. You go up on the roller coaster for the first time. I'm not talking about the super slide, the super he said you were green. I was petrified. You've ruined my day, by the way. I can't even think straight. We're going to have to we're going to have to write we're going to have to write Texas in Oklahoma. Yeah. One of the fans asked me about that. Maybe one more check from ESPN doesn't hurt, does it? I mean, if the SEC could add in schools, let me give you your phones because the guy who contracted you for this mark QB X on the other side of the camera here. And I don't have a checkbook, but I will recommend them pay you whatever you want. Well, if they keep adding schools, you know, I'm gonna be one happy camp..
