"Ago. That's where we find Fox News channels. Mark MEREDITH and Mark I know beyond the presidential race you're watching. Ah, pretty hotly contested Senate races. Well, Jarod, you're right about that. I'm standing in an event center just north of Charlotte. This is where Thom Tillis hopes of having a Victory party later on tonight, But he's hoping to see if they also be going back to Washington to start a second term in the Senate. He won six years ago by less than 50,000 votes, and right now, it does show him trailing here in North Carolina State that really saw a lot of voters embraced the early voting. And absentee ballot options that were before them. North Carolina was the first in the country to offer up absentee ballots, mailing those out. They also had more than two weeks of early voting, and we saw so many North Carolinians really more than half of the state's registered voters. Take advantage of that. So that's just the voting aspect. This Senate race specifically, also just fascinating to watch. Because of the amount of money, Jared you'd be blown away. How much money millions upon millions of dollars are going into this specific Senate race? Why is that? Well they believe they built being. Both parties say that this race could help determine the exact balance of power in the Senate. And of course, you're going to see some very controversial Senate races. They could swing it away. But this one in North Carolina really could be a bellwether. How either party would be able to move forward. You know, after the After the election. I think that part was interesting. We have seen Senator Tom Tillis campaign face to face right alongside President Trump's certainly embracing the trumpets ticket. The president has been making multiple stops in this last week. Here in North Carolina had a rally even yesterday in Fayetteville, and you also saw him in Hickory on Sunday. So the trumpets ticket new North Carolina was going to be crucial. And for this Senate race, Jared also they seem to have their fates tied together, at least at this point of the night. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if one can And it sort of outperform the other. You're right. That's a trend will be looking for is well, a very important state in North Carolina, Mark Mayer that I appreciate the time will be checking in throughout the evening. So far on our big board. No, Ah major Swing state has been called Everything sort of a star is the race calls that have gone as predicted, reliably Red states have gone for President Trump reliably Blue states have Gone for Joe Biden. Joe Biden leads the electoral count right now. 91 to 73, both the president and the former vice president very far off from 2 to 71 race call we were able to make earlier this evening was in Kentucky won by the president and also one by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who was now speaking. Let's Listen Live In a Democratic republic. Whether people choose our representatives. Grateful to be citizens of the greatest nation in history. In Kentucky. I'm humbled and grateful that you have re hired me to keep fighting for your families. In serving our Commonwealth. The next six years. You know, the great Kentucky and and my hero Henry Clay once said. The greatest of all human powers. His competition. Competition of ideas is crucial in a free society. My opponent ran a spirited race. You stood up for her views and want a lot of votes. Applaud her willingness to step forward. I want to thank the team that worked so hard to connect with Kentucky. And to make our case. Especially Josh Holmes, my indispensable advisor on all things political. Seven Golden, who grew from a young field rep six years ago. Into running this campaign. And Terry Karma has been with me since 1984. It's being my advanced man mostly meant answering the question. Mitch, who So most of all, I need to thank my best friend and partner. Elaine is an incredible person in every respect. She's stunningly accomplished as a leader and a public servant. Walking manifestation. Of the American dream. Is a blessing I do not deserve. But for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, giving his thanks to his campaign staff who worked hard to get him reelected, he faced a challenge. Or, AH, Democrats said for a time thought, Josh that that maybe he was vulnerable. We've seen this before with Mitch McConnell six years ago where it looked like perhaps there was a Democrat who could knock him off and he went pretty decisively, as was the case. Receiving. The big question for Mitch McConnell, though, is whether or not he will keep his title in the new Congress a majority later or if he will be the minority leader designate. After tonight, Big win for Mitch McConnell. He is one of the sharpest political tacticians in Washington. And it's not just for his Republican colleagues, but it's his own reelection bids. I have covered his campaigns in Kentucky, and he knows the granular details of his home state. Better than anyone in the state and keep in mind. Amy McGrath, his Democratic opponent, raised more money for that Senate race than maybe every other Democratic Senate candidate except Jamie Harrison in South Carolina. And money doesn't matter. We've learned this in the last few years whether it's like Michael Bloomberg's record setting fundraising for little results in the presidential race. Self funders just don't do well in politics and a lot of big time fundraisers don't necessarily translate in tow, being able to win political races and a McGrath raised a ton of money but just was not a good politician in Mitch McConnell just showed the benefit and certainly from running in a red state like Kentucky, But he in this race isn't even close. One thing is somebody who covers to Hill. Most days like I do is you you've seen a lot of you mentioned that the strategy that Mitch McConnell has, and he has let and given many of his Senate Republic Wins the freedom that they need on votes just kind of run the campaigns they need to run. It will be interesting from the evening to see if that pays off for some of the more vulnerable members, So that will be a theme that we continue to watch as well. "Carolina easily this year. The race in the target state is much closer and with 15 electoral votes up for grabs. Republicans air hoping a battleground blitz will pay off. "Cutting him wasn't just stayed in the race. He's ahead in quite a few poles fact. Mark MEREDITH. Yes, that's been the case pretty much all along. Here were Tillis has kind of been in the fight of his political life Right now. The average that I've seen is the Cunninghams up by about the same that Biden Harris are in the state. By about 2% points, but this race has tightened just in October alone. It's amazing to see how close is God and I want to say before tell us was down by six points the beginning of the month. And now they're essentially down, too. So you have to say it. It's an even pace here. Thom Tillis is somebody that you know, Obviously, North Carolinians are always think we'll have a majority in the Senate. But if the Senate's going to flip this would be a chance for Cunningham. Teo. To be able to sell that majority here. So this is not only a presidential contest. But as you mentioned a very, very important Senate race, Cal Connie and has had to deal with a little bit of a scandal of his own with an extramarital affair. And obviously that is possible that it could weigh on voters minds. But you have to think too about who's coming out for Cunningham. Right now. This is likely not about a personal issue, but how they feel about the current administration and about the balance of power in the Senate. As opposed to the candidate itself himself and in North Carolina, where you have you seen a lot of signs around, you see a lot of Biden signs Trump signs Have you noticed anything? Is it look like a typically does I see a lot of TV adds a lot of radio ads this morning in terms of signage. Nothing that would just, you know, blow you away compared to other states like Iowa or New Hampshire before a contest. It just doesn't have that feel. I was in North Carolina when the RNC was supposed to happen. Remember, was supposed to be in Charlotte. Then it was moved Jacksonville and then it was moved back to Washington. And I'll tell you what that was something that was surreal to me. Because this was an area for the Republicans to really show. We're gonna put every resource we have into North Carolina really try to sell the state. And then it didn't happen. The convention that I saw that one day that it happened down here was almost a joke. I mean, it was one or two signs outside the convention center. There was not a big turnout. They had a lot of security, but you would never have known there was a convention here. And I also really curious how many businesses air really upset with the way that they kind of got shafted by not being able to get that revenue back into the city of Charlotte, and, of course, all throughout North Carolina. Well, it's certainly going to interesting. Those 15 electoral votes are very much up for grabs and either side they want them badly. Mark MEREDITH Fox news correspondent in Greensboro. More voters Trust the vice president while Mr Trump leads on the economy so far. The president has not broken through Steve. Well, I think he is breaking through on the most important issue, which is the economy. You know, There's a lot of cross currents. Of course in 2020. Many things about this year are unique and singular. But I still believe that the ultimate driver of the electoral decision for most Americans is going to be what it typically is. Who can create prosperity for me, for my family and for this country going forward, And on that score, the president has a compelling story to tell, particularly given the current Economic renaissance that is unfolding in this country. This country is coming back with gusto. Right now. All of the recent economic data show that this is the president who produced the first Trump boom, and the American people, I believe will smartly rehire him to continue to produce and compel the trump boom 2.0. What about the fact that he trails Biden by a substantial margin on the issue of who you trust more to handle the Corona virus? Look regarding Corona virus. I think here's the reality that I think. Unfortunately, corporate media has been relatively successful and pushing out a myth that the president mishandled the virus. And I, actually when I looked, for instance, these revelations from Woodward I think if you look at them in the context of the totality of actions taken by this president, it actually reveals an exemplary record of crisis management and what I mean by that is it's very clear. The president early on during the fog of biological war, when the information coming in was disparate and at times, even contradictory. He made two determinations number one that he was going to reassure the American people that he was going to be the kind of leader who convinces the people that we can persevere through this epidemiological Pearl Harbor. But then, Secondly, he also took decisive action. He made the command decision. To you to harness the full power of the federal government to do two things. Primarily, he did a lot of things, but that the two main drivers to protect the people we're number one. He restricted travel first from China, then from Europe, eventually, basically effectively sealing the United States border, something that hadn't been done this country since 9 11. But then he also commenced the largest government mandated manufacturing campaign in this country since World War two and the swiftness and vastness with which the government produced P p medical devices and also overflow capacity for hospital systems around this country that ultimately wasn't needed, thankfully, but was there nonetheless that record, I believe, reveals a record of superb management actually of the virus. Let's let you brought up the Woodward book and let's talk about the president's what you call superb management. All of these Poles were conducted, at least in part before the public learned the revelations from Bob Woodward's book, which are essentially That the president was saying something very different and much more alarming to Bob Woodward in private than what he was telling the public. Take a look. You just breathe.
