"So help me God. Cocos Mark Larsen, a San Diego exclusive this week interviewed Mike Pence about Donald Trump, the January 6th attack of the U.S. capitol, what the former vice president did that day, and I was faith to find who he is and what he does. As I say and so help me God, I was always loyal to president Donald Trump. He was my president. He was my friend. When we had differences of opinion, I always kept it in private as I think every vice president should do. My only higher loyalty was the God and the constitution and I'll always believe that we did our duty under the constitution that day and that's where the title of the book comes from. I had made a promise to uphold the constitution to the American people and it ended with a prayer. So help me God. And by his great sweet, we did our duty that day, but I must tell you with the same reference to his great, I felt no fear that day. I was not afraid. I was angry at what I saw. I was angry, obviously the difference is the president and I had and some of the things that he expressed that day. So you didn't think you didn't think they were going to haul you out on a slab that day. What really angered me as well was seeing people in the capitol that I love, the capital of our country, breaking windows, ransacking offices, assaulting police officers, like I was, I was filled with indignation, Mark. I said, not this, not here, not in America. And there's some great stories. I was determined to do my duty that day, and to be honest with you, I just said that I set that anger aside and just focused on the work and I believe because of the courage of law enforcement that day, we were able to turn a day of tragedy into a triumph of freedom where we finished the work of the American people and ensured the peaceful transfer of power. You have done better than anyone I've ever seen, making sure awareness of the cameras when the president would speak at all those COVID briefings and all the other national security things in the economy is doing gangbusters and all that. When you're standing behind in the shot and you know that the press corps, the media corps are looking for any way to catch a weird face or whatever. You had the ability to just rive it, like you looked at a focal point on the back of the president's head and you would not flinch. They were not going to get any goofy picture of you. What were you thinking when you looked at that focal point on the back of his head? Because you looked like, yeah, well, it's number one. Thanks for the compliment. Number two, I will tell you. I was listening to the president. And I was thinking about the job. Look, the job of the vice president of the United States is to stand beside the president. When things are going well and when they're not going well, your job is to stand beside the president. And as, you know, as I wrote opening lines of so help me God, I was always loyal to president Donald Trump. And I'll always be proud of the record that we created. It was up against unprecedented opposition. When you have people in, you know, they're doing this. The title so help me, God. You got a Bible verse at the beginning of every chapter. A lot of your faith through this. What do you say to people who go, I don't really care about that. It makes me nervous. I had somebody say yesterday. I wish you just dropped the evangelical thing. It's like, well, that's part of who he is. And I've come up in the same tradition, but he's saying that because obviously when you're president, vice president, what have you, you represent all the people. So does this. How do you address it just quickly? Because that's a thing. You know? Well, look, in writing my story, I couldn't leave out the most important decision I've ever made in my life, and that was to put my faith in Jesus Christ back in 1978. It's been the source of our strength and the center of our family and ever since. But, you know, I'm some of the believes that the old book says that always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that you have, but do so with gentleness and respect. And I hope this people reach to help me God they'll sense the sincerity of our faith. They'll hear it. They're here that we haven't always lived up to what our faith required early in our political life. I try and be humble about those things and I hope whatever faith tradition or any background people have that they can read that and know that that's where the pences are coming from, but I'll always be a fierce champion of the right of every American to live to work to worship and to believe, according to the dictates of their support or not believe either way, Mike Pence with us. I think people may be the people who think I was just so buttoned down and it's like drinking milk or whatever, but you're a Budweiser fan too, which is straight out of the controversy with the World Cup. So there's a lot of great revelations in here. Mister vice president, I appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Happy. Thanksgiving to all of your listeners. That's former vice president Mike Pence with co goes's Mark Larson, and I'm cliff Albert, cogo news.

"The remaining U. S. Military forces in Afghanistan has begun the word coming this week from the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley. We will do this in a synchronized fashion. Solar shoulder with our allies in NATO partners. We've been steadily reducing our presence for almost a decade and we're now in the final phase of that strategic retrograde. There are now about 2500. U. S troops still in Afghanistan, U. S Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said this week. The gradual U. S troop withdrawal is going according to plan. We're going to do everything that we can to make this drawdown. Deliberate. Orderly. I'm safe. And to protect our people in our partners. The defense secretary said He's optimistic that Afghan security forces will be able to stop the Taliban from causing trouble during the draw down by U. S forces. He says the U. S mission in Afghanistan now will be to keep an embassy open and it keeps supporting the Afghan government and security forces with money and aid. President Biden has set a goal of all U. S troops being removed in Afghanistan by September 11th of this year. I am seven sixties. Mark Larsen on Friday Question. CBS News Chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett about the withdrawal plan in Afghanistan. Here's the headline Today. US sends More Warplanes amid Withdrawal Because extra forces are needed as our troops are exiting, which proves the bad guy searched. We're not even out of there yet. And it's like a game on the way out. Let's hammer you. Doesn't that make the case for leaving? Just because I don't know Trump wanted That, too, is not smart. Trump Trump wanted to get out. Trump would have gotten out had had intended all by his little self to bring the Taliban to camp David. Let's not forget about that. I thought that was stupid. I've really That was a dumb thing. But that was monstrously stupid. And it was his idea and had he not been. Aggressively talked out of it. That would have happened, but it's also stupid to give Afghanistan back to the Taliban. On the anniversary 20th anniversary of September 11th. Look, um Have watched this debate play out for the last 10 years when it was clear that we were not in a war fighting posture in Afghanistan, but a maintenance of status quo posture. And I believe if we have changed our language about what we were doing and trying to accomplish, we would be less fatigued about it. And I'm gonna differ on this whole topic to Admiral McRaven. I had a very long conversation with on the take out podcast several years ago about this and he said, Look, We don't talk about the war in Afghanistan in the proper way and because we don't talk about in the proper way we misunderstand what the goal is that we're not at war in Afghanistan any more any more than we are. When we have placed a fire department in a local neighborhood. Fire departments are not at war with fire. What the fire part departments do. Stand ready, they observe, and they called. Happens, and then they put out a small fire, so it doesn't become a large fire in Afghanistan. And this was him speaking like two years ago, the last 8 to 10 years we have been a fire department and if we think about counterterrorism operations in that sense, we don't keep asking ourselves well, dammit! Why haven't we won the war because we're not fighting a war anymore, not in any traditional Yeah, it's a it's a policing, action and keeping and yet the case could be made for having some sort of a leasing. It's not even more policing because fire departments don't drive around looking for fire fire departments. Wait. Police officers drive around looking for things. Fire departments wait, and when they slow call come, They go there to make sure it's not a bigger Fire, and I found that to be the most metaphorically helpful way to think about counterterrorism operations and deployments. So essentially, what we're saying is, we're taking all our fire departments out of Afghanistan. I'm worried about that. I am, too. And then the Taliban says, get more matches and more combustible stuff and will have a heyday and that's gonna be a horrible Not only that, but mark in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are translators. Oh, yeah, That's a big thing. We talked about that in Iraq. I agree. We will talk to Ollie north about that. They're the ones we're gonna get killed to be. We've got to get that you talk about a refugee issue. We need to get those people out. If they have helped us as translators. They need to get out and get protected now, and we need to keep our word to them for not just moral reasons, but you political strategic reasons. Because if we betray them, what do you think the Taliban is going to tell everyone in Afghanistan? Not only they're going to kill them. They're going to see. See what good America's word is worth the Taliban. We tell you we're going to kill. You were going to kill you. Let me tell you what? Give you food, You get food. But you know where to find us. And you know what to believe our word Americans. You can't trust them. We've got to get those people out. We really should do And there's common ground for today. Major Garrett Mark Larson here and I'm Cliff Albert, and this is Saturday goes weekend news hour news radio 600 Kogo. The effort to recall California Governor.

"A coven KOGO news. Residents in one East County community are rallying against the state's plan to place a convicted sexual predator in their neighborhood. Residents of the Mount Helix community near Alcohol own have been waving signs on street corners and holding meetings, voicing their opposition to the states plan. The state wants to put 78 year old Douglas Badger a sexually viol Lynch Predator in a home in the neighborhood alcohol on, Mayor Bill Wells told AM seven sixties Mark Larsen about 500 people attended the most recent rally, and the state needs to find a different spot to place Badger. This guy doesn't belong in any residential neighborhoods, and I think that it's incumbent upon the state to find a safe place that's far away from any kids riding bikes, scooters. The home is about a mile and a half from a public park and resident Sarah Thompson, who has an eight year old Boy told reporting partner 10 News. She thinks Badger's release would create a climate of fear. There's Children all up and down the streets in our neighborhood. It's within less than a mile from two elementary schools. It creates a climate of fear of uncertainty. Families will be terrified families. We will be Constantly looking over their shoulders. AM seven sixties Mark Larson talked with the executive director of the Saturday Go Gun owners Pack. Michael Schwartz. But 100 million gun owners in the country when you marginalize them and and, you know, basically act as if they're they're simply pursuing a hobby. I mean, one thing you and I have talked about before, but not enough people do talk about it. It's between one and two million times per year. Somebody uses a firearm to defend themselves from a violent attack or a sexual assault. Murder. Um, you know, taking that ability away from people, uh, you know, taking their away the self defense tool and then marginalizing them and basically mocking them for for wanting to be able to defend themselves or their family. I can't believe this is coming from the White House and Pelosi echoed to the gun violence crisis demands immediate, effective and strong action, which is why, as speaker, I strongly support the gun violence prevention actions taken day by President Biden. These steps will save lives. And how do you address that? Michael Short? Well, there's there's never been a When you look at some of the scientific surveys and studies that have been done. The steps that they're proposing have never shown to stop violent crime They've never shown to prevent criminals from committing violent crime. But would he does seem to be happening is is the more that, uh more people who own firearms, the more they have the ability to defend and protect themselves so out of one side of their mouth, they're saying, Hey, we live in this horrible, dangerous country and on the other side of their mouth they're saying you don't need, you know, to defend yourself from horrible violence doesn't make any sense at all. So I don't believe in any way this This isn't gonna save lives. All it's gonna do is put Normal sane trains, law abiding gun owners under the microscope microscope, and you know it's going to criminalize normal activity, and that's not going to stop. You know crime from spiking. It's just gonna make it worse. Michael Schwartz San Diego County gun on his pack appreciate the update on the clarity is always thank you. I see. There's a patent for promoting eye health and reducing eye fatigue. There's a patent for inhibiting the expression aside all kinds and cells and a patent. Get this on composition for body fat reduction. There's one for improving muscle atrophy and older adults sharing. I'd like to be a little bit of a skeptic here. How can this one simple nutrient? Many of the studies that I'm referencing here they're available on Pub Med. These air, reputable clinical studies conducted by leading researchers around the world that really back the benefits of asked Sanson, by the way, muscle output is better with us. Is Anson to And this comes from Master Xanthan research published in the International Journal of Poor nutrition November 2011. This was another study done with cyclists. They took 4 MG of acid xanthan. It was a small study, but very positive showing that cyclist improved their trial time by two minutes in a 20 kilometer bike race. I mean, that's a meaningful improvement in a race like this, and the researchers said that they also burned fat more efficiently, which makes sense. East on this research. Purity can actually make the claim that asked. The effects will promote and improve power output in your muscles. I mean, I tell people asked the effects in whose strength and power out it's transformative if you like energy, and this was found in other studies to like one that looked at hand grip strength, great information of you just tuning in. We're talking with pharmacist and author Sherry tacos here. I'm your host Mark Larsen on this hand grip study the you mentioned. I understand. They're this involved What a 12 mg dose and they saw a 93% boost in hand strength and people who struggled with well at tennis elbow Now that's a big deal, but our listeners might be saying Well, okay, maybe I don't play tennis. What about me? What does it mean for may, right, right. So think about this, a 93% increase in a person who has some repetitive stress in their elbow. It's an almost doubling in hand strength. So just think about all the things that you do in your daily life. Picking up groceries, your kids your grandkids gripping the steering wheel of a car playing golf for tennis, gardening or riding a bike. A doubling of grip strength makes a big difference. Mean, when you take asked Xanthan, you get stronger, You feel stronger. You have more energy endurance. If you play sports, you play stronger. So to me, it's really quite extraordinary. That's right information to that sherry. I want to share a couple more testimonials that caught my attention out of so many right there on the purity website again. These air unsolicited these air from real people. Here's one from Rick. He's a male aged 55 to 64 lives in Naples, Florida, He writes this what a great product asked to FX has been for me after starting taking asked, affects my workout and strength has increased as if I were in my twenties again, and I've only been on asked affects for two months now can't wait to see the long term effect. I look forward to taking Asta FX every morning for my afternoon workouts. I'll be taking this product for a long time. There's Dede. She's a female age 45 to 54th lives in Laurel Park, North Carolina. She writes. This quote I've been using asked the FX for a month. Now I can see the difference in my energy level. I now have more energy feel better Since taking this product. I can actually see a difference in my skin as well. I'm a smoker who has smoking lines around my mouth, but the lines have diminished about 50%. Overall. I am so thrilled with my energy level. I love this product, just couple of samples from the real people who have responded. Impurities, website and cherry. I'm looking at the list of patents again on this Asta xanthan compound. This is where the science the research backs up. What we're talking about. This is just flat out amazing and a sherry A lot of people out there are going to think what I'm going to stay here Sounds a little bit odd. But you said before the show this supplement may even help people drive a car better or use the computer more comfortably. Amazing. Come on. How does this happen? Major Garrett about these cases, the third circuit in the most recent decision that came down today out of Pennsylvania case set. You need facts and law to be in dispute and we have neither. There's no evidence. There are no facts there. No presentations. There are just accusations and happily because court should not jump in when there are no facts and no relevant allegations and no dispute. About the underlying walk, no courts to jump in and do that They're not and they're not going to and nothing is going to get the Supreme Court that's reversible. And everyone says Oh, my gosh. Supreme Court said that Religious organizations are protected from certain covert restrictions. Of course they are in the First Amendment. There's a higher standard that's been part of U S law. The very beginning it's in the bill of rights. It's the First Amendment. Yes, there has to be a higher standard and a higher standard has been in law for a long time. It's not a departure. It's a verification, so they're separate things. Oh my gosh. The Supreme Court protected religious organizations and how they observed from covert restrictions. Yes, yes, There's a higher standard, right. Let's talk about that for a second. That was a big deal. Amy Cockney Barrett's first big swing vote opportunity there, and this puts limits on New York on Cuomo. When it came to, he was imposing attendance limits, like kind of like we have here in many cases with his own version of the color codes. 10 people in red Zones 25. People in orange zones seem to be disproportionately getting to the Catholics and the Orthodox Jewish congregations and so forth. So so this is a is a big deal. That sort of happened just over the holiday here in the court. Said. What the court has always said, which is Because it's in the First Amendment because it's in the bill of rights because it's in the Constitution. There's a higher standard that must be met. If you're going to restrict this activity. You better have a compelling state reason to do that. Mm. And if people have the volition to decide which they do, And you have to let them operate within the freedoms outlined in the Constitution that to meet is that doesn't strike me is radical and it doesn't strike me as something is his dangerous now did the chief justice when it was an eight member Supreme Court before him. He called me Barrett was nominated confirmed. Keep it for four. Yes, he did. So the chief justice comes down differently. But this didn't seem to me to be a radical departure that would should make us all breathless are nervous about what the court's going to do. And for the same reason, if any of these cases which I don't ever imagine they will get Supreme Court get there. The Supreme Court's not going to say you know what What doesn't matter, and we're going to keep President Trump in office, and it's not going to do that's not gonna happen. There's nothing that is meticulously legitimate about the assertions made so far and they've had plenty of time to find something and they found nothing. And that's the way it is. Major

San Diego sheriff defends officers' use of deadly force

"Here in San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore is defending his brothers and sisters at the San Diego Police Department. Speaking with AM seven sixties Mark Larsen, San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore talked about how three shootings in the past 12 days involving officers at the San Diego Police Department translates to his deputies. And sheriff's no matter how good your deescalation training and policies are. It takes two to deescalate. Gore also mentioned what happens when de escalation doesn't work with officers. You're gonna have a weapon a gun and pointed A deputy sheriff for a long enforcement officer. De escalation is it's out of the question at that point time, these officers have a right to protect themselves in the community, and they had to use deadly force. Sadly, Gore was referencing an incident earlier this week when San Diego police fatally shot a man during a confrontation in city
