Charlie Pierce on Gen Z's Voter Turnout in the 2022 Midterms

"Certainly, his approval rating has demonstrated by the results. Among young people is pretty high. Yeah. I have to say, that is the huge story of this midterm, isn't it? What was it? The 18 to 29. Forgiving student loans and legalizing weed would bring in Joe Biden. But it canceled out every vote over 65. I mean, that turnout among Gen Z was really extraordinary. Yeah, and I thought it was, I thought what I thought was really interesting was that people are news news outlets were counting up the votes cast on college campuses. Like I found out you found out that Gretchen Whitmer got 95% of the vote at the University of Michigan. Yeah. I think Chris, I think you're around moderate. They came out with what the count was among the Arizona state students. It was 96%. Yeah, that's true. I don't think I've ever seen that before. I don't think I've ever seen news outlets go try to get those particular numbers. Yeah, but only about 8000 out of a 50,000 student campus voted, so I don't know that. ASU that much. But still at least they voted. When they voted overwhelmingly for Mark Kelly, so every little bit helps.

Chad Connelly: Republicans Did a Poor Job Setting Expectations

"Chad, the pollsters got it all wrong. And I'm not sure that most, I'm not sure anybody had this projected the right way, because when you actually break down a lot of these races, there was no way the Republicans were ever going to win those 5 or 6 or 7 seats that they were projecting was going to happen. In reality, my question is, was there really a red wave in the first place? You know, I think that we did a really poor job of setting expectations because, you know, when you tell people you're going to win big, you kind of suppress your own vote. Now, we set some record turnouts and has some good wins, but I think you're right. It's an uphill climb. We only had to only have like ten or 12 seats to target had to defend 20 something ourselves. And that flips in 24. But I do think you're on the something that we poorly set and certainly poorly managed or expectations. I don't know if you saw this, but it took to your point when Blake masters has $9 million to run for Senate in Arizona. And Mark Kelly has $75 million. That's not a level playing Bill and it's very difficult to unseat an incumbent who outspends you almost ten to one. So

Midterm Results Continue to Roll In

"Midterm results continue to come in and of course one question is why are they coming in so late? The New York Times keeps talking about technical glitches and Republicans are calling into question these elections and to my knowledge, no one has actually said that the elections of fraudulent, the 2022 elections, but there are lots of there's lots of frustration, law, why does this happen only in swing states? Why is it taking so long to count a relatively small number of votes? How come other countries do it so much more quickly? So yeah, my cousin, Venezuelan cousin, is like wondering, hey, guys, what's going on? I mean, you know, third world country can do it faster. What are you doing? What's going on? What's going on? Two big results that did come out. One is that Blake masters lost in Arizona. That's a disappointment I was hoping that masters would make it master's campaign kind of together would carry Lake and holiday. They were kind of campaigning as a team, but of course what happens is you got to realize that even if they're campaigning as a team, they're not going to be judged as a team. People are going to judge masters against Mark Kelly and this guy is very chameleonic, very clever, and playing the astronaut car. You always thought he said that. And also the other cardi plays very well is his wife, congresswoman Gabby, is that yeah, yeah. Yeah. So, you know, she was shot ten years ago, 11 years ago. And so he plays, he plays that card really well. The combination. The combination of gun violence and all those things. So I knew that he wanted to go to Washington to kind of hammer at the gun control issue. On a happier note for us, in Nevada, a big result, Joe lombardo running in the governor's race, knocks out the incumbents. Yeah, and he's like so cute. He's like this old sheriff guy, you know? It's like I loved his I love this campaign come up with a sister I kept announcing and saying he's ineffective and so on and but so I can give him a speech basically saying that sheriff and the country is right here Joe lombardo stand up Joe. Let's have a round of applause for Joe so lombardo just played that as his ad saying listen, this is coming from my apartment. Very effective.

So a significantly higher number. And it's always a hard to know cause and effect. How Blake Masters and Kari Lake Can Win Arizona

"Steve Cortez, you're optimistic about Arizona. That's fascinating. Tell me why in the case of both Carrie Lake and Blake masters. Yes. Well, in the case of Carrie Lake. I think it's clearer there that there remaining batches of ballots that are outstanding and not Charlie Turk by way did a great job to get into all the details of this. But when you look at it just mathematically in terms of the probability where the remaining votes are, the percentages that she has already accrued in those very jurisdictions and the total outstanding. It's very likely that not only is she going to win, but actually by a reasonably comfortable margin. I don't mean 10%. But I mean, by a few percent. And I think she has made that case quite well herself as have others who have looked deeply into the numbers. Now, it's much less clear on Blake masters. I will admit that. But I'm facing my optimism there, primarily on talking directly to him and to his campaign team. They believe that it's going to be very, very close, but on a similar trajectory in half as Carrie Lake just not as numerically big a margin. I want to say, by the way, speaking of reasons why we underperformed. And again, we're going to take the house, I believe we're going to take the Senate. So there are also reasons to rejoice. But at the same time, it's like an athletic team wins, but didn't play as well as they should have. They should be introspect. Every good coach does that to a team. Okay, you won, but I'm actually going to be across you than if you lost. Because you underperformed. Another reason looking at underperformers. Why is Blake masters in this? This showdown was apparently being a photo finish. A big part of the reason is that Mitch McConnell decided to use his tens of millions of dollars as massive war chests on fights that are ultimately futile, for example, on Doctor Oz in Pennsylvania, a terrible candidate who never should have been our nominee or on the intra Republican Party feud in Alaska rather than giving one penny. He didn't spend anything on Blake masters in Arizona. And even if Blake masters ultimately loses, he clearly was an incredibly effective candidate to come this close and I think he's going to win, but I'm saying even if he were to lose, he has proven that he's an incredibly effective candidate as a newcomer to politics to take on an incumbent well funded senator like Mark Kelly and take him right down to the wire.

"Distancing themselves from Biden on certain policies, but really appealing to independence and those more moderate Republican voters, a quick update on the tabulators that had issues. In the end, 17,000 ballots here in Maricopa County, which is the country's second largest voter jurisdiction, went into box three, the safeguard that was in place for ballots that could not be read electronically. But as election officials keep saying every single ballot will be counted irrespective if they were not able to go through that tabulator successfully 400,000 ballots left to count in Maricopa County. We have a long way to go no matter how tight this race is. So Ed, let me understand the ballot splitting a little bit here. Are you suggesting that maybe there's sick could be some indications that Kerry Lake could win and Mark Kelly could win in the Senate at the same time because they're splitting it that way? Is that what you're talking about? Yeah, yes, exactly so that there is evidence and what we're hearing from strategists of both parties is that remember, purple state, one third of voters firmly independent, they may well go for Carrie Lake as governor and they well may well go for mark Kelly as a democratic Senate, but Mark Kelly very much positions himself as an independent, right? There's a long way to go as well in the sense that remember how the voting patterns are played out in this state. Democrats vote early and they vote by mail Republicans tend to have much more footfall election day. It's those election day ballots that still need to be counted and there are many of them Okay, and thank you so much for all your other Arizona last night and again today. That's Bloomberg's Ed ludlow in Phoenix. And now let's go to Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, another key race here. Kayleigh, give us your sense of what's going on in Pennsylvania. I mean, you said yesterday was going to take a long time to know what happened, but we found out as soon as we thought, didn't we? Yeah, we got the result much earlier than anticipated election officials had really tried to set expectations low that it could be days before we got a final result, but we had one by early this morning, John fetterman, the Democrat successfully flipping this seat, which was held by Republican pat toomey, Doctor Oz, mehmed is the Republican candidate, lost this race and has accepted that result. He called fetterman to congratulate him and concede earlier today. He said in a statement in part, quote, we are facing big problems as a country, and we need everyone to put down their partisan swords and focus on getting the job done. So the tone is really one of I lost. Let's move forward. It's a very different tone than the one struck by former president Trump when he lost this state in the 2020 presidential election. And it's important to note, David, that Trump did endorse mehmet Oz, he also endorsed the Republican gubernatorial candidate, Doug mastriano, who also lost his race. So both of those Republican Trump endorsed candidates did not come out on top in this midterm cycle and that could be noteworthy considering Pennsylvania is considered a bellwether state and clearly the Trump influence was not enough to sway voters in this election. That is something important to keep in mind as we look forward potentially next week to president Trump announcing another run at the presidency for 2024. But of course, before we can get to that election, we have to get to January where fetterman will take his seat in the Senate and has a number of potentially market influential policy objectives that he would like to see get done. Kelly, I'm the first one to be happy if we get a result and that's fine. We've got that one decided at the same time leading up to this there were any number of lawsuits well over a hundred as I recall challenging some absentee and other very ballots because of the lack of dates on the outside. Is that all gone now as a practical matter, are the Republicans saying, okay, it's legitimate. We're fine with it. "mark kelly" Discussed on Bloomberg Radio New York

"For the Senate and for the governor's race. And the Senate race Mark Kelly had a wide lead in polls for a long time. He is out fundraised Republican candidate Blake masters who is backed by billionaire Peter Thiel, but he is closed the gap in recent weeks down to almost a single percentage point by some polls. The Republicans across the ticket, including Carrie Lake, the candidate for governor have really focused on the idea, the unsubstantiated idea that Democrats stole the 2020 presidential election. They have reinforced this idea of unsubstantiated claims of election fraud. And on the other hand, they've kind of moved away from this idea that Arizona is a purple state. I hear you talking with your guests about that all evening. You know, a third of voters in this state are strongly independent. And that's what where we see the Democrats focusing their initiative, trying to reach out to those independent and more moderate Republican voters. They've distanced themselves the Democrats from Joe Biden on issues like the border, but we're expecting a tight race and in around an hour's time we'll get a prelim result based on 780,000 early mail ballots that were received by the close of business last Friday, but we do expect a final result not to come for at least a couple of days while we should have a firmer picture by some point tomorrow and where this race stands. Both very tight, both really important in the context of the 2024 presidential election. That is how the Republicans at least are framing the race in this state. Not a big surprise, but it's turning on to be one of the big stories so far in this election. Thank you so much to Bloomberg's Ed ludlow out in Arizona. We do have a race to call now AP is calling now Chuck Schumer as the next senator continuing his position as senator from New York, the Democrat. And I believe this will make him the longest serving senator from the state of New York in history. When I turn now to Florida and Bloomberg quick takes Madison mills, she's down in Miami and Madison, you already have at least some results down there. We do. And I really want to focus on the 2024 implications of the results this evening specifically looking at governor Ron DeSantis decidedly winning his reelection for governor here in Florida flipping some blue stronghold counties like Miami dade where I am right now, which has been a democratic bastion for decades. This county did not go to Trump in 2016, 2020, but desantis was able to flip it over to his side tonight. Why is that important? This has huge implications if desantis is going to run for 2024 of course he hasn't announced yet, but his gubernatorial campaign it certainly looked and sounded a lot like a presidential campaign, David. We heard desantis talking about President Biden more than he spoke about his opponent here for the governor's seat Charlie Crist. He talked about national issues, like the economy, inflation, gas prices, and of course his anti woke agenda. And I know from sources on his campaign that he's going to move out of the state of Florida in the days and weeks to come taking that message to other states across the country. Of course a big question here, former president Trump. He started critiquing desantis over the weekend during the senator Rubio rally. Today he told Fox News, he knows some unflattering things about Ron DeSantis. So we're going to have to monitor this sort of TED Talk between Trump and desantis as we move forward, but an important number I want to point out 60% of Republicans and Republican leaning independents say the GOP should follow Trump's leadership heading into 2024. I spoke with voters today who said they were concerned that Trump might be indicted so they are going all in on desantis. These are lifelong Republican voters who had a lot of energy for desantis today. And that shows in these election results that we're getting out of the Florida tonight. Okay, Madison, thank you so very much as Bloomberg quick takes Madison mills reporting from Miami. When we go to another key state in this midterm election and that is Pennsylvania, Catherine lynch is in Philadelphia. We've talked to her before Kelly, what do we know at this point? Well, David, the reason why this is a key state is because the Senate seat in question is a Republican one. That of retiring senator pat toomey. So this is an opportunity for the Democrats to flip a seat. The man trying to do that, of course, is the current lieutenant general lieutenant governor rather John fetterman who at the moment with about 11% of votes counted according to the estimate from The Associated Press is leading the Republican candidate doctor mehmet Oz with a margin of about 69% votes for fetterman significant amount less for Doctor Oz and you also are seeing the democratic candidate in the gubernatorial race leading as well. That would be Josh Shapiro, the current attorney general leading against the Republican candidate state senator Doug mastriano. Now, of course, it's again very early only 11% of votes counted and a lot of these votes are going to be mail in ballots. 1.2 million mail in ballots had been returned as of the latest tally from the Department of State here in Pennsylvania and of those about 70% were for from democratic registered voters. So that means that as we see more mailing ballots being encountered, which is a process that could take some time considering it was only able to start at 7 a.m. this morning we could see more blue boats perhaps than in person voters which tend to lean in the more Republican direction. So this could be days before we finally get a result here in Pennsylvania and we could see a lot of litigation around this race as well already the state Supreme Court had ruled last week that you could not count ballots that did not have a date on the outside of the envelope. There were thousands of voters just here in Philadelphia

"Judgment damn here at Jack posobiec as always you can email me freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com. We got some very serious problems happening in Arizona. I'm hearing about problems in Tennessee of machines that are just not working in Arizona 20% of all tabulators in Maricopa County are not working. Now this might deter you from the polls it should do the opposite. You need to show up in record numbers. And look, I'm getting the reports. Let me just tell you kind of the brass tacks of what is going on. As of right now, there are there have been about 65,000 people that have cast a ballot in person America county that does not count drop offs. We need that number to be 400,000. We are not on pace to hit that. We are behind already. Katie Hobbs and Blake masters and Mark Kelly, Mark Kelly, I actually might be breathing a sigh of relief while the shenanigans and games that are happening in Arizona. Now, we might say, well, Charlie already voted what else can I do? You got to get 5 more people out to the polls and keep them in line. I'm telling you, the numbers are not there. I mean, turnout is up everywhere across the country. Now, some people might be going in and dropping off their ballot. I don't know, I'm telling you, there's some major issues here. And by the way, Jack, we are getting emails from people like we've never seen. So, Charlie, Charlie, let's go back to this a little bit because we were talking just before I cut off the box three, they're saying the machines are having issues 20% and that's just the number that we have that clip if we can get it. We need to get that clip out because this is like something in here in Nicaragua. The idea that someone said at one point the machines are warming up, they're taking time to warm up the machines. I'm sorry, it's not 19. Well, so when I went and voted this by the way, my beautiful I voted sticker. But we're in Maricopa County. And I'm responsible for 30 people to go out to about 30 people, okay? 30 people, and you guys got to be as well. When I went to vote, I said, wait a second. What do you mean that the tabulator isn't working? They said, oh, yeah, the machine's not working. They know about it. We're just going to go put it in this box here.

Blake Masters: Stay in Line & Vote Today

"Last few hours, what are you doing? And what are you hearing from voters out there? Just played catch with my kids, you know? I tried to decompress a little bit, but with all these problems at the polls, you know what I'm going to do right now? I'm going to go get dressed. I'm going to go to the longest lines in Maricopa County. I'm going to go shake hands with everyone in line. And thank them. Thank them for doing their duty for saving their country for braving. It's a little hot in Arizona today. It's in the 80s. I'm going to thank them and just encourage them to hold true to stay in line regardless of how they vote, right? Although I expect people voting today are going to break Republican just stay in line with vote and that's how we win. Real quick here, what's been the big issue for Arizona voters? You know, it's the twin crises that Joe Biden and Mark Kelly have caused. The border crisis and then the crazy economic inflation price. And two years ago, we had a secure border and inflation was one and a half percent. You didn't have to worry about it. Fast forward two years, wide open southern border, 5.4 million illegal aliens invited here. Welcomed here. By Joe Biden, fentanyl is coming in and inflation, of course, 8% nationally, 13% in the greater Phoenix metro. So Joe Biden Mark Kelly caused these problems. Everybody's waking up to that why we're having this red wave that we're starting to see right now. Blake one

And I don't want to and the last thing I want to do is with every bit of optimism that I spew forward, it is coupled with the caveat that you've got to make that happen. If I talk about not just Carrie Lake, winning for Arizona governor, which she's going to do. But if I dare to dream of Blake masters sending Mark Kelly back to private life, and this is weird, that means in Arizona, there are people who will vote for Kerry Lake and then turn around and vote for Mark Kelly. What's the matter with you all? I mean, please hello. So it means that you've got to get out there and do what all the pundits and prognosticators have talked about. The red wave is you. "To comment on the Republican establishment as well because I've been pretty upset the last couple of weeks with what I've been seeing, which is a betrayal of amazing candidates across the country that are left to fend for themselves. It's a very serious problem. And we should never forget it. We're not going to know for probably a week, so brace yourself for impact. Georgia, Arizona and Pennsylvania are already telling us that it's going to take a week for us to get election results. So just get ready for that. Remember, you get what you put up with and Brian Kemp and raffensperger and do see an Arizona. We're not bold enough to get the election reform changes necessary. Now I hope there's no fraud. I hope that we overwhelm the fraud. I think we will. I think that Carrie Lake is going to win the governor's race in Arizona. I really do. And so we're fighting right now like crazy to make sure Blake masters wins against the fraud of Mark Kelly, but let me tell you the problem. Blake masters has raised about 15 to $20 million. Mark Kelly has raised $75 million and Mitch McConnell is instead spending money in Alaska to go defeat a great Republican. $9 million has been spent on defeating a Trump endorsed candidate Kelly shabaka, meanwhile, Blake masters is being outspent in Arizona. Meanwhile, he pulled out all the money in New Hampshire with a great candidate Don baldick, and he goes up in the polls and he says, maybe I'll do a million. You see McConnell is not counting votes. He's counting seats. And this is a huge problem. I'm telling you right now, he has betrayed the grassroots of this country and has allowed our candidates and left them on an island. $9 million in Alaska, while our candidates can't raise money while we are being outspent at every single corner in turn. So you ask the question have we done enough with election integrity? No.

"Get started on this discussion of electoral politics and especially how it's playing out in the let's just start with the Senate races. Arizona. We're going to start in Arizona because I think this is tied into the governor's race. We're going to talk about it in a little bit. With Mark Kelly Blake masters, Arizona has been one of the hot states over the last year and a half. Coming out of the 2020 election very similar to Georgia, Nevada and others, which are the in play states. Black masters came out of the primary. It's been an up and down roller coaster. To be very Frank with you, there's been a hard discussion between the national Republican Senate campaign, Mitch McConnell's leadership packs and others that whether to support blame masters in this race. And that's been back and forth, Peter Thiel, a big backer of black master says kick back in in funding this race and it shows. This race is tightened up a great deal. The debate between masters and Kelly, I think helped master solidify himself as a legitimate candidate in this race and one that conservatives can get behind and all Republicans can get behind in Arizona. We're not going to be fool each other here. And when we talk about Arizona, Carrie Lake is the engine that's running the train in Arizona. Her campaign has been very aggressive. Her campaign is garnered a lot of attention. There are people who are just drawn to her personality or willingness to speak. She has been, you know, just an amazing campaigner out on the stump in Arizona. And it shows, how

Dinesh Examines Key Senate Races Around the U.S.

"I want to talk about what's happening in Senate races around the country. I think it's worthwhile to focus on the Senate because, well, it looks fairly obvious that the house is going to swing and probably pretty heavily into the Republican camp. Even Democrats appear to be conceding this. They seem to be giving up on some races that they thought they could win. Even other races that were once classified as leaning democratic are now toss ups. So the momentum seems to be with the Republicans as it is on the Senate level. And let's look at some of the key races going on here. In Arizona, Blake masters has pulled even with who's the guy in Arizona honey, the astronaut named Mark Kelly, the astronaut. And Kelly looked like he would have that. In fact, even I said on the podcast, I think Republicans may win three out of four in those races, but it looks like masters has a good chance. JD Vance, I think is going to win in Ohio. He's ahead. The awes fetterman debate was a spectacle. It wasn't it fetterman, wow. He made Biden look like Einstein. So, and in fact, Democrats were running around afterward to explain, initially they were like, oh, he did really well, and there was some media figures and this just shows how the how horrible these people are. They don't even feel they're untethered by reality. Well, the editorial board of the Philadelphia inquirer decided that fetterman won the debate decisively, as if to say, did we watch the same debate? This is not even a matter of two guys who are in a fight and you say one guy wins. This is the case where fetterman was struggling to get out a coherent sentence and actually produce a massive whopper. Is that made you even wonder if he knew what he was saying or even what his name was?

Blake Masters Describes What's Happening on the Ground in Arizona

"Joining us now is the great Blake masters who has had more opposition thrown at him than any other candidate that I have seen in recent memory and he is now tied in the latest Democrat poll, that's right, the Democrat poll has Blake masters tied Kerry Lake up four and Blake masters tied. I think that's actually right. I think, I mean, look, Katie Hobbs is no astronaut, wouldn't you say Blake, welcome back to the program. She's no astronaut indeed. I've been joking with Carrie. I say Carrie. I think Katie Hobbs is the second worst. You have a legitimately appealing candidate you're running against. He's super radical. He's awful, but I mean, let's just be honest, it's not an easy race. You're doing a great job. Talk about your race. What are you seeing on the ground? Well, I do think we've tied it up. We have the momentum. You know, the Democrats, they thought they could just buy it. Mark Kelly spent 80 million bucks. You know, I think 30 of it attacking me. They have to lie about me and slander me. And then they also have to lie about him. They're propping him up. He's pretending on people's television screens to be some kind of center right Republican. All of a sudden, I stand up to Joe Biden, and it's like, what, when? I wish he did, but of course in D.C. he never does. He's a rubber stamp for Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer has failed agenda. And we've just been getting that message out. And I think people are finally really waking up, right? People are looking around and saying, am I better off now than I was two or three years ago? The answer is almost always a resounding no. Like Mark Kelly really has helped the Democrat. He's done more than anyone to help Joe Biden drag this country and our state further and further in the wrong direction. So it's tightening up. We've got the momentum. I'd rather be asked to name right now. That's for sure. Yeah, I totally agree. And that's a Democrat poll, and it's really it's really incredible.

ABC News: The Path to Republican Victory Is Through Arizona

"According to ABC's Rick Klein and Jonathan Carl yesterday, the path to Republican victory might just come right through here in Arizona with a Blake masters victory. Yeah, John, this poll with ipsos shows that both parties have their areas of strength, but Republicans are starting to open up pretty open up a pretty significant gap on some of the biggest issues that motivate voters, inflation, crime, issues around the economy, double digit plus gap. That's what the campaign has been about. That's what the ads have been focused on. Now, Democrats have their issues as well. They have yawning advantages on things like gun violence, abortion, climate change, but the problem for them, John, is that those aren't the issues that are motivating voters first and foremost. Either in polls or talking to voters, it's those issues around the economy. And if this campaign is about inflation, high prices about crime, Republicans have a big, big advantage. Okay, and here in Arizona, a senator Mark Kelly, the Democrat, obviously running against Blake masters, tight race, you have been saying that this could come down to something you're calling McCain Democrats. Yeah, and John, this is kind of a microcosm of what we've seen around the country. Keep in mind that right here, this used to be red territory. Maricopa County fastest growing county in the country. John McCain won right here in 2016 last time he's on the ballot by 15 points. Fast forward just four years though, Mark Kelly and Joe Biden both win this state. Biden winning by barely 10,000 votes. One of the biggest upsets of the election cycle. So the battle right now, it's over suburban voters. It's over new voters in this fast growing county is over Latino voters. These are the trends you're seeing everywhere, and this drop voters, people that for decades voted Republican now have been voting Democrat where they land almost certainly determines where Arizona lands. And if you want to see why that matters, John, take a look at this. If just this one Senate seat flips, if Blake masters is able to beat Mark Kelly in a few weeks, Republicans go from a four in ten chance to an 8 in ten chance to take the Senate.

"I mean this guy is spending a ton of money A ton of money is being poured in mostly from out of state dark money billionaires and dark money groups are pouring it into the state They're trying to protect this seat Now my sense of your opponent is he woke up about 60 days ago and realized he has a race on his hands and now all of a sudden he's tough on the border He's concerned about the price of gasoline and all the rest As he voted for every damn Joe Biden Chuck Schumer bill that comes across the table That's exactly right There's two Mark Kelly's There's campaign Kelly which is what we're seeing a lot of now He pretends to be a center right Republican All of a sudden he's been focused on the border He's concerned about inflation No no no Then there's D.C. Kelly and when Mark Kelly's in D.C. he just gives Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden whatever they want He lyrically votes to the left of Bernie Sanders So yeah look Mark Kelly's got a lot of money He runs a lot of commercials TV ads that lie about me TV ads that lie about his own record but I think people are seeing through it because Mark Kelly can lie all he wants doesn't change the fact that we've got a wide open southern border We've got crippling inflation the highest in the greater Phoenix metro in the country and officially 13% And we're seeing violent crime just rise under this democratic administration That's why people are going to be looking to make a change big time in November

"Blake masters, Blake. Congratulations on a great debate. That's not easy. Good job. It was fun, you know? All I had to do was go out and tell the truth. And you know, Charlie, Tyler, do you almost feel bad for Mark Kelly? Because what's he supposed to do is record his indefensible. So we kind of had a feeling, yeah, he was going to struggle to defend it. Yeah, and this tweet from Tom bevan, who I consider be a very fair minded guy from RealClearPolitics. It's over. I'm not sure how many people watched or will watch. How much it will matter, but masters was the clear winner of the debate. Kelly made his points on abortion, social security, but masters simply crushed him on inflation and illegal immigration. I thought you made a really good point there where you were kind of in a very strategic way contrasting him with cinema. And again, we're no fans of cinema here, but you were saying he could have been like a cinema esque figure and said Biden, I'm not going to vote for anything that was in for border security. Blake, I thought that was very effective. What's the response been so far? It's been good, you know, I think we surprised a lot of people, especially people in D.C., who might have been tempted to write off Arizona, but nope, the more money Mark Kelly spends telling lies the closer I get in the polls. I pull just came out yesterday that had me done one. Down one point right there. I mean, it's neck and neck. And I think last night, voters in Arizona and people are around the country, really. They saw these clear contrast. Mark Kelly, like, I don't know, he might be a nice guy. I got to chat with him for 30 seconds before the debate, you know? But who cares? That's not good enough. He has been a rubber stamp for Joe Biden's policies. I think I articulated this last night. These policies have clearly failed working class families, middle class families in Arizona. And it's ruining our state. And so I have a problem with that.

"The U.S. Senate may come down to Arizona where incumbent Democrat mark Kelly faces off against Republican Blake masters. Masters is one of a slate of election denying candidates in Arizona that former president Donald Trump successfully endorsed in the primaries. But it's Kelly, who holds the advantage in the race, both in recent polls and with a sizable campaign war chest. Ben Giles of member station, KJ ZZ and Phoenix has been following this campaign, Ben Kelly and masters faced off in their lone debate of the general election last night. What was your biggest takeaway from it? So Arizona elections are always one in the middle of independence or a significant portion about a third of the state's voting population. So from the get go both masters and Kelly, they tried to describe themselves as the true independent in the race and cast the other as a radical masters right away sought to link Kelly to President Biden and congressional Democrats. In Washington, Mark Kelly backs Joe Biden every single time. Without thinking twice, without thinking of Arizona. And you know it's not what he said he'd do. Two years ago, Mark Kelly stood right there. And he promised to be independent. But he broke that promise. Kelly meanwhile, cast himself as someone willing to stand up to his own party when it comes to issues like inflation. And inflation and the economy are two of the biggest issues on the minds of voters in Arizona and actually nationally too and Democrats are in control right now. So what did Kelly have to say about his record on inflation? So Kelly has been out campaigning on two key democratic victories, the bipartisan infrastructure Bill, and then also the inflation reduction act passed earlier this year. Kelly says he knows how tough it is right now for Arizona families. I know it's hard. That's why I've worked to cut costs. Hey, when the when the president, when the Biden administration refused to increase oil and gas production, I told him he was wrong. And there even in a conversation about inflation, Kelly again, is bringing the conversation back to his independence. The master said it's Kelly's votes with the Biden agenda votes for bills like the inflation reduction act that are actually worsening the country's economy. In recently, a local judge in Arizona reinstated a ban from the 18 60s on virtually all abortions in Arizona, so people in Arizona are thinking about abortion right now, have the candidates responded. Kelly said Thursday that he would support codifying roe V wade and he believes abortion laws needed that the federal level to protect women's rights. He also attacked masters for past statements he's made calling abortion, demonic and a religious sacrifice. These are his words. He is supported state and national abortion bans. That will deny the right for a woman to make this decision by themselves. Masters during the debate, dodged questions about some previous tough on abortion positions that he scrubbed from his campaign website, at least since winning the primary in August. Thursday night he repeated a softer stance on abortion rights. I'm pro life, and that means I believe in limits. Now, I support exceptions because I don't believe in being extreme on this issue. Senator Mark Kelly is the abortion radical. Master said that he believes abortion laws are best left to the states. But then he also said he supports a federal 15 week abortion ban introduced by senator Lindsey Graham to prevent states like California, he says, from an acting more liberal policies. That's been Giles at

"Size and scope of the federal government. Mark Kelly is you know one of the signatures of the S one co sponsors that want to nationalize our election and put more control in D. C. He's on board with the 3.5 trillion trillion Dollar boondoggle that's essentially going to subsidize green energy. So he is a big government liberal Democrats that's basically put his steak with the Democratic Party. And I think it's important that we have people representing Arizona, the U. S senate that have been tried true and tested and can articulate and defend our values. And I've told people this before Mark when I've been and sometimes I'm on Fox shows whatever is that Arizona's got a purple State in the sense that I got more votes than cinema or MCs Sally, even though people like Thomas Dyer spent $7 million a last month attacking me, people can draw their own conclusions. Why the big tech people come after me. But the point is, is that you you need someone that can not only take a punch been given by someone that understands what freedom is all about Someone that understands that it's not more than one generation away from extinction, and we have to fight for that. It's not something we pass on her kids in her blood and I have lived it. No it And if you look at what I've done consists with around my career, whether it's at the Goldwater Institute, whether it's being a gang prosecutor, I have always stood up. I've got one minute 11. Okay, Mr Attorney who else is running in the Republican primary? You know, my my focus has always been on but give me their names. Give me their names. Who are they? There's some guy that Peter Thiel supporting and Who else? Some guy who's a Who's a solar guy here in Arizona. All right, Listen, I'm running out of time. Here's what I want to do. I've studied your background. I've talked to a number of people in Arizona and other people that I trust. We're not in Arizona. And I want to endorse you. We've got to win this seat..

"There is what's going on right now. With Supreme Court with Amy Cockney Barrett and, you know, first off. I don't know how you work with these people like I'm watching the White House guy and watching Harow know, asking if she sexually assaulted anybody. Her. Ask her if she's against white supremacy, and she's two black Children. You know what? What is going on here? Now? She has been so impressive. She is so smart. And then one of telling part of the debate last week of Mark Kelly was that before even hearing any word she says, he told you said, Yes, You said last week debate. I would not vote to confirm her without even asking questions or know anything about her. That's a big deal. Well, I was surprised. He actually said that Garrett, you know, he tends to not think of it is not anything that he's hiding. But I forced him to answer that. And he said no, and the reason he said no is because of course. Many yet you know, we're not. He's not going to get elected. But should he? They're gonna want liberal activist judges on the bench, packing the court. And how dare he say that he would not put this highly qualified woman who's risen to the top of her field is brilliant, unflappable of you. Anybody's watching every school room in America should be tuning into these hearings. Learn about our Constitution. Learn about what Originalist and a Texas is. Look at these people on the other side of the island. How they're conducting themselves are almost used A not nice word on another conduct themselves versus her, and she belonged on that court, and I'm going back to D. C next week. We're going to confirm her. This. You know it should there be any delays. Of course. Whoever wins my election will be seated right away and Mark Kelly, So it is true colors. He's a activist liberal who will be voting in line with Chuck Schumer bought and paid for, and we've got to stop him. Mark Kelly spent years going on cable news going on Sunday shows talking about gun control. Amazing. He has been that quiet for the past year here in Arizona, because a lot of Democrats on guns and Arizona lot independence too Well, I didn't in the debate last week. I wanted to make sure people realize you know, he said. He's not talking about it because You know, He just answered questions. People. I give you a break. He's not talking about it because you know, the Arizona cares about the Second Amendment, and he has spent the last decade running leading raising money for one of the most sophisticated Liberal extremist gun confiscation gun control organization in modern history, So people should not be fooled about this. The media let him get away with it. All they have to say is, Oh, I own guns or I support the second limit. But look at what they support. I mean, you know they support, you know, saying California's got, you know, good gun laws. Give me a break. People are leaving California. Because their second Amendment rights are being violated. And we've got to ensure that law abiding citizens have their right to bear arms were one vote away in the Supreme Court on this is, you know the Heller decision. The court's matter for this legislation matters, but he's hiding about this is not being truthful because they know the agenda that they have is out of step with Arizona, and he's trying to get independence and modern Republicans to vote for him and even Democrats who care about the Second Amendment. I am your Second Amendment Senator. I put my life on the line for our constitutional freedoms and are right with willing to give my life shot the biggest gun of anybody in Congress. Like I said in the debate, But this is a such a serious issue, and he would be the national leader on this, along with Robert Francis O'Rourke. You know, Tonto to take away our guns, So we've got to stop it and we're trying to smoke him out. We're doing it. You know, in the debate we're doing in our bunch of our messaging. We need people that talk to their friends and neighbors. We've got to hold the line. You guys were neck and neck. Down to the wire. Every vote really matters. This is going to decide the Senate majority and the presidential race High Center make Sally Thanks for the time this morning, we'll talk to you again. "Sally What's your reaction to this corruption where Joe Biden seems to have lied about? Never Never talking about business, especially the Marie's My Ukrainian stuff with his son when emails from his own son's computer clearly show they have Yeah. Hey, Gary. Good morning is going to great to be with Don Jr today. I hope everybody could get out there and rally to help President Trump get across the finish line here with 20 days ago. Yeah, I saw that story. Pop this morning. I've been going on stops and five. I don't think anybody believed That Joe Biden never talked to his son about his position on the board of Charisma. I mean, give me a break. I don't think anybody believe those denials. Um, it'll be interesting to see you know where this love top came from, and it's about to get dropped off to get repaired and nobody ever picked it up. I mean, they get the Darwin Award for that, if that's what they did. Well, they were trying to hide all this stuff, But, um, I mean, seriously, I think it just reveals again. That should Joe Biden win, which we need to stop here in Arizona. You're gonna have just additional grifting going on the elite in our country by then, and his cronies and his family and Omar Kelly and all his. This is what the political elite does right. They Yeah, they can gain influence. They try to profit off the positions that they're in on. That's why Donald Trump got elected, and that's why he needs to get re elected. In order to ensure this, you know, Joe Biden doesn't get back in there when it comes to the corruption. I mean, Joe Biden. It's not just Ukrainians in the Ukraine, and then we look at it on a local level. I mean, Mark Kelly, your opponent. They right here in Pima County World View. One of the many investors is in it is 10 Cent, which is the tech giant That literally does all the censorship right for the child, Calm government. Center with Internet Exactly again. This is an example of what the elite has been doing in America, right? They looked, you know, be able to profit off of connections. Profit off of, you know government relationships, and this is Mark Kelly story. He went over to China, as I talked about in the debate in 2003 on this Chinese propaganda arm retreat, trying to bring the elite in America into their orbit, and it succeeded and went back in 2004. Back in 2005, But it was the most meaningful thing he did in his life other than going to space, which is bizarre and then went to space in 2006 brought the Chinese Communist banter with him. Because it was so meaningful to him. And then he gets out of the you know, retired from the military and starts a company in Tucson and reaches out to 10 Cent to invest in this company. This is a 10 cent interview to the national security threat. They are close to the Chinese government, and you don't just pick up the phone and called 10 Cent. He had to have had those relationships already, which started to form while he was still active duty Navy going over to China and then profiting off it trying to get rich quick. I look, we want people to be able to prosper in America. Right, Garrett. We care about hard work, You know, Start a business being entrepreneur and prosperity is not a bad thing, but what the elite has done. They built prosperity off relationships and, you know, corruption and access, and that's what the Americans and Arizonans are against. And that's what that take care in my election as well. You know, I sit here in question. How could this guy want to be a senator when he literally knows that he's doing business with Communists and a company that is in charge of censoring the Internet? You know, with that kind of judgment. How can he be trusted to be a senator for the United States representing Arizona? And he can't is the point. It's disqualifying and is that 10 Cent has been basically cracking down and censoring, you know Chinese citizens in Hong Kong and other places. They are collecting information wherever they can. They're they're Chinese state owned company, and Mark Kelly is in business with them. And you know many other Americans are, too But that doesn't mean you get to be a senator is the point. China is our biggest year political threat They unleashed this virus on us have been stealing our jobs, stealing our technology, stealing our research President Trump of the first one to stand up to them. I am standing up to them. This is this is the critical national security issue of this election is standing up to China and we cannot allow Joe Biden and Mark Kelly to be in there with their deep financial ties. It is disqualified. As a senator, with China being such a threat and you know, I eyeballed this. I've caught this on great websites that do all kinds of great reporting about how college campuses university is basically a paid off by China. Half devil there. Then they set up shop like you have a Ieyasu. They both had it where they set up shop and they can't They can't the colleges themselves can't even get in there. It's like it's like it becomes like a Chinese Embassy. Almost where they just set up shop and steal information. I mean, should they be Ben? If you're senator, what would you do to crack down on China? Stealing our our intellectual property getting on our campuses, stealing everything that we're doing? What? We're already doing it again. People are waking up to it that China has been doing this in plain sight as you mentioned, you know, access to our research institution or universities trying tow have basically their propaganda arm while they steal our technology Steeler job. We already cracking down on this. I mean, I'm on a bill with Rick Scott and some others specifically about a full review of all students are here, you know, during research and the visa applications and those who were associate ID, potentially with that, you know the Chinese military. They're using our free society and are open system to their benefit, And it's like jokes on us, right? So we've got to take a full review. Of the access that they have legally and illegally. I mean, they, you know, they do cyber attacks and they take our stuff. But in many cases they were taking it legally because we're giving them access through technology transfers, you know, joint ventures or, you know, research access and things like that. It's time for America to wake up. We need to take a full review of our own security. Here, do everything we can tow hold China accountable and ensure that we bring our manufacturing homes that we're not relying on them for a PPE and our pharmaceuticals and critical minerals. We need to, you know, make an F 35 you know, or air our defense equipment. I mean, this is this is a wake up call for America. This is very much what this election is about. And that's why President Trump has to get re elected and why I've got to get elected and make sure that Mark Kelly's not in Senate and one of those things reason to get in. There is what's going on right now. With Supreme Court with Amy Cockney Barrett and, you know, first off. I don't know how you work with these people like I'm watching the White House guy and watching Harow know, asking if she sexually assaulted anybody. Cory Booker ask her if she's against white supremacy, and she's two black Children. You know what? What is going on here? Now? She has been so impressive. She is so smart. And then one of telling part of the debate last week of Mark Kelly was that before even hearing any word she says, he told he said, yes, you said last week debate. I would not vote to confirm her without even asking questions or know anything about her. That's a big deal. Well, I was surprised. He actually said that Garrett, you know, he tends to not take a Buddhist nun. Anything he's hiding, but I forced him to answer that. And he said no and the reason he said no. And because, of course, Many yet you know, we're not. He's not going to get elected. But should he? They're gonna want liberal activist judges on the bench, packing the court.
