Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup

"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.

Russell Wilson New Orleans Houston Willie Snead Willie Snead Tyler Lockett Willie Snead Russ Cook Shawn Watson Alvin Kamara Raiders Josh Jacobs La Raiders Brady New England Tampa Waller Seattle Trae Kwan Smith Chris Carson

"The first time these two teams played was 1/4 along, Patrick Mahomes completed what he believes to be his best pass of his career down the field. It's high retail. The second game these two teams played. Lamar's team got off to a lead early on, and then the Kansas City Chiefs Absolutely blitz the Baltimore Ravens for 28 points and the Ravens were down 28 26 at half. It's a really difficult formula. To beat both of these teams. Really hard to get the Ravens down double digits. Hard to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. You can play well for 52 minutes against the Chiefs 53 minutes against the Chiefs, and it not be good enough. You can hold Lamar Toa 75 yards rushing and it not be good enough. Our whole mark Ingram, 10 90 yards rushing and not be good enough because J. K Dobbin since you for 100 Gus Edwards atyou for 85. A lot has to a line in a lot has to go right in order for you to beat both of those teams. But I'm looking at the biggest game on Monday schedule as a validation game. I think Kansas City would like to beat the Ravens. Something would be nice. You want to win every time you go out there. Whenever you're playing a team, the caliber of the Ravens, you always wanna line yourself up against the best and see how you play. The Chiefs have not played their best football. So far. They were not overly impressive on that Thursday night game against the Tennessee are against the Houston Texans. And they slept, walked through a majority of the game against the Los Angeles charges, but good teams find a way to win, so you don't penalize the team for finding a way to win in a division game on the road. That's how the Chiefs have played so far, while Baltimore has been by far and away the best team so far this season. Dominant performance in Week one against the Cleveland Browns dominant performance last week against the Houston sections. Baltimore has lived up to their side of the building and has been the best team in the NFL. The chief's having, But it's two games like what does it matter? But I look at this as a validation game for Lamar Jackson in a validation game for the Baltimore Ravens. Kansas City would like to win this game. It would certainly be nice. I think Baltimore needs to win on Monday night. Baltimore needs to win. It's not a must win in the sense that you are the Houston sections and owing to and fighting off being irrelevant this season. Before the mental back and forth that exists between the top two teams and who's better and who's playing better and doing all those things. I think that stuff matters. And as an NFL fan, this game excites me. Just For the quarterback matchup. If you really followed the NFL over the last 10 or 15 years, you've been spoiled. We've got to see to top five top eight quarterbacks in my opinion between Brady and Peyton Manning. We've seen Hall of Fame guys like Barabas, Burger Air Rogers. Drew Brees mean we've got to see Fantastic quarterback play for the last 15 years, and it's always been fun when those two top cubes match up against each other. It's fun to see Roger's go up against a breeze or Rogers go up against a Brady or Brady go up against Manning. And those rivalries are part of what's helped this sport explode to the most popular sport in the country. Who in this next generation is going to be there to carry the torch? Who's going to be there to carry the mantle? Who's going to be there to help push the league forward? Because we're seeing a transformation? The league told us that big 12 quarterbacks didn't work. The history before Patrick Mahomes was You can't be a good NFL quarterback. If you come from the big 12. That style of play doesn't work..

"I could tell you that Jake E. Davidge today is a better dynasty Pick. Sonny's a 2021 big say that say that every GM that I spoke to all thought the guy was a first round happened and they couldn't believe he's looked to the second round went to Baltimore. They couldn't believe it. So the guy is a huge talent. And he will thrive in Baltimore. But I believe he will thrive Maurin 2021 they will this year unless there is an injury to Mark Ingram. And then as you say, Matthew J. K. Dobbins is a league winter like you know what I like, in one best ball dress fitted. Three. Our best bowler. I took Mark Ingram. Why Ordinarily? I don't know. I like I like marking, or he's talented, but I came right back into Jake a domicile. Why now The ball's back. Yeah. Love love that move in best ball, Especially so here's my other question for you. And I know you have a lot of questions for Mike. But listen, I know you talked to Los Angeles. Sean McVeigh's been on this podcast before on the Adam Schefter Show, which Rams runningback are you drafting? You know, we saw the hard knocks Henderson running with the ones but they obviously used to pick on Cam Acres. You've got Malcolm Brown. Still there, the veteran? How do you foresee the Rams running back situation play out because I think that's a really interesting one. I know you have some insight into that means it's for you to see that I will say this. I've got a lot of friends in the Rams organization, and I'm not just saying this, Matthew. I have not had the conversation with them specifically that I will about running backs. Just shits are kicking and I'm not holding out on you. I'm not. I just haven't had that. But I'll tell you a funny shot a story in this day and age of Colbert. I think You know, we're staying up a little later than I normally would. And I'm getting up a little later And so last Saturday morning, about seven morning I'm storing about to get up on the Saturday seven AM and hear my phone buzzing. I'm like getting text Larry, Who's this and show me Well at the four in the morning on the West Coast, and I just I felt like I was slacking on the East Coast getting up when I did. And it was him but I haven't had the chance. You. Basically Get what I want about that backfield just yet. Not. I'll tell you. What, though. I mean they they're poles. Not overly expensive right right now. I mean, you could get both guys you could acres. And say, the fifth round and Darryl Henderson. I've got in the double digit rounds quite often. I mean, this guy was going around What? Around 56 times last year? The hype was crazy for him. Oh, and that was with Todd early in that backfield. We're talking about a guy over his last two seasons at College of College. 344 carries guys. He averaged 8.9 yards per carry over 344 Cherries. I don't care what college and what the competition level is. That is ridiculous. So I have not given up hope on Henderson. I still think there's a chance he plays a huge role in McVeigh's offense. Obviously brilliant. He's been really maximized his talent of that offense for the most part. So look, I like acres is a prospect, but I'm fine. Taking bold, You know, they're just they're just not pricey enough and drafts to stay away. All right. Um, Before I let you go, we've covered a lot of ground, but I want each of you started with Mike. To give me another sleeper. We haven't mentioned a guy that you would like to take in the late rounds, and I'll give you one of mine is well, the guy that I think I might have given you anything. You've fallen there, Matthew. I'll give you another guy later and said that that I think merits consideration might go ahead and give your sleeper. Okay. Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna go to the tight end position, right? We haven't talked much about it. I think there's values at a lot of levels. But about this that all right, So let's go back to on Lee back to 2017 through last season, right? That's a pretty decent sample. Of action in the NFL. So these are the leaders in yards per target among rookie tight ends during that span. Mark Andrews, Rob Gronkowski Hunter Henry and I'll leave to blank spaces. Aaron Hernandez is Acker. It's Jordan Reed. Jimmy Graham. George Kettle. Okay, So eight of those men are basically fantasy superstars, right? I mean, those guys all panned out in fantasy football. The two that I left like Chris Herndon and Noah fan. I mean, are they the next to great fantasy tight ends? I think it's very possible. That is the case Fan obviously is a 21 year old last season in that offense was very run heavy again. We talked about it earlier was tight and 16. That's extremely good for a rookie tight end, and now he enters your number two and, of course, Chris hard, and he was a guy who is primed for a breakout last season. And obviously the injury only played a few snaps. But all systems seem to be go for him here in 2020. So again, fan goes a little bit earlier, but either one of those guys I love his late Flyers a tight end. I think both those guys were great. And I will say that my attitude on tight in this year's either be one of the first guys might lead to get a tight end or one of the last because there is so much depth you mentioned Fant, You mentioned Herndon, Hawkinson, John Smith Blake Jar when Ian Thomas is a lot of guys here, but I'll give you a tight end as well. And that's my Kosecki. Who last you're tied for the most ends on targets among tight end from weeknight on last year's the best tight and fantasy. I think that Dolphin's offense would be better than what it was last year. They have they have a they have spent the offseason improving the offensive line. And then you think about sort of target tree right again. Talent was his opportunity. We know Kosecki has talent. We know that. Why the Dolphins pick them high. We saw him in college was great. And so you then you think about Well, who's there? They got Devante Parker, Okay. And then you're like, Well, they've already had two wide receivers opt out for the 2020 season. Preston Williams coming up of a major injury. We don't know how 100% healthy.

Ravens to sit Lamar, other starters vs. Steelers?

"A stupid here we go from yesterday thirty nine just to sell checks in with pressure coming Jack to party down to see so you go Willmar doing it again of course now the big question gentleman yes the debate roles sure the ravens who have procured and secured hold build advance for the entire AFC playoffs and did good and obviously they won their division they play the Steelers next week do they play Lamar and mark Ingram or not in fact you play your starters not because if they don't then you have an open week and he doesn't play for three weeks essentially before the playoffs resume you played sparingly what you do is you blame sparingly you do like the pre season you get like the first five ten snaps and maybe intermittently as need be in them I'd say Lamar don't run well I mean easy you just plain sparingly apartment there's literally nothing to play for this last week for the radish wonder if it's hard to knock off right for for the Steelers weight was rose I think still isn't running still I thought they were still in the running with with Tennessee for the final wild card spot is that why don't they get that by the fact though if Tennessee loses to Houston yep yeah my heart so so they are playing for something I mean right now it's looking like it's gonna be the ravens in the saints in the Super Bowl and wrestling catastrophic happened the other cabbie out to this the question comes in Lamar is right now the leading vote getter probably to win the MVP should he take a day off that may not be that he still can't have repeated it all right one what a acted with malice he still get me of knowledge because I didn't the year that Peyton manning wanted didn't he what he in that same situation and didn't he basically fell in week seventeen and nobody batted an eye at it right now you're looking at right now you're super bowls going to be the ravens in the saints unless something crazy goes off the rails and so one of those are you know you're not impressed by the forty Niners beating the saints down in the the doll now now it's forty nine were right in the same tune I watch I watch the saints in Titans yesterday in that same theme is the real deal I mean you got you got drew Brees breaking records all over the place what's his name the cat they just broke the receiving record he broke up Harriman's record you know is this the saints are clicking on all cylinders right now right you know what would be a really it would take a lot of a bizarre circumstances to get to this okay it's so you say it is saints ravens and then something happens to drew Brees in minutes teddy versus Lamar would be funny well that it but honestly I hate to say this about that ex that he did a phenomenal job formed in the regular season right right now seems lose breeze I mean teddies good is great well no visible quality great get them where they need to be I don't know I wish because I like to have a soft spot in my heart for teddy because it's flea think the same problem is their defense of Friday and they don't have the they don't have the where with all to be a couple teams on on the way to the Superbowl but that's just me I just say I do too and I've got a soft spot for teddy because I mean honestly let's let's admit it's it's easy to be a big fan of Lamar Jackson's and your whole nations ride his right but you know teddy really blazed a trail in teddy didn't get nearly the credit he deserves in this town for what he did for love it's well that's the I mean written for Lamar bringing out your ravens Jersey that's the sexy thing to do that's the trendy in thing slowing fruit for the sports media right but you know teddy story is phenomenal he gets nowhere because everybody had all the Vikings jerseys and then the minute teddy got hurt those all went away in a few people had a Saint's Jersey Tate and I'll tell you didn't want the love he he don't need his studies we as attendees content with yes but he's awesome I got a soft spot for ten in the same absolutely I mean you know what the boat the best part about all this is is it finally we could stop talking about the patriots well maybe I mean they're still there to eleven wins this year yeah no but that jailbreak conversation that doesn't involve the patron I thought no way they were going to be buffalo yesterday and you know what will happen is in in if the ravens go on this and they start creating a dynasty I guarantee you in about ten years will be having the same conversation about the ravens good that because that's what we do I mean we just hate teams that are good I I've seen it every decade no but I can live with the ravens

With win over Browns, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have nothing left to prove in 2019

"But because it's been an historic season for the Baltimore Ravens let's start there best record in the NFL now with evil eleven consecutive wins there is a little bit of a concern about an injury suffered on Sunday but man it's so much fun to watch potentially the NFL MVP operate even when it's a slow start and it was it was a slug best against Cleveland in the first half but eventually Lamar Jackson of the ravens they find themes all the Cleveland thirty nine just to sell checks in with pressure coming Jack to party down the seat he's got answers so six other rivers around the board Jackson out of the shot gun wants to throw blood pressure coming Jackson hit lots of the ads all so through action Jackson there's room at the ravens converse in the final minute of the opening half the Baltimore Ravens had nada nothing on the scoreboard in the first tab until a minute eighteen left to go they got stopped on fourth down there was the Lamar Jackson fumble that led to the Cleveland Browns scoring with a Dimitri's Heris touchdown reception there were multiple penalties in the Baltimore defense that kept Cleveland drives alive but as time is running out in that first half Lamar complete the bear deep passes first marking room and then to mark a Andrews those are his two favorite guys the marks for a touchdown would you here with Jerry Sandusky on the ravens radio network and then the brown so quickly go three and out but the rate would get the ball right back and they had that quick strike ability for their second touchdown the second for more dangers and so the raven score a pair of touchdowns in just over a minute and the entire game gets what Donna Ted and feel differently heading into the locker room the Cleveland Browns that had to be devastating to give up a pair of touchdowns like that the first one okay you're still trailing by just a point and that was because the Browns miss their extra point what do you go three and out not keep the ball away from Lamar Jack for the ravens give it right back you were feeding into what the ravens want to do then Baltimore starts the second half with a seven and a half minute drive this is their element this is what the ravens want to do that ball control that wears down your defense so they go thirteen plays and then mark Ingram scores right before you get injured so we did have a touchdown before he left with a calf injury the ravens are up twenty one six even without Ingram their next drive covers nearly seven minutes no it's only a field goal but those seven minute you're keeping the ball away from Cleveland Browns single possession of the third quarter that's it they had the ball for one possession for minutes that's it it's a really hard core when you don't have the football and so the ravens nearly double up the Browns in terms of yardage that dominated time of possession Lamar Jackson has three more touchdown passes he now is thirty six on the season which is a new single season franchise record for ravens quarterback he also log another one hundred three yards rushing and for the first time in franchise history the ravens are the one seed in the AFC and will have home field advantage throughout the

Lamar Jackson: From a running back disguised as a QB to potential MVP

"Dow Baltimore does not want Lamar Jackson carrying the football fourteen times so last week he had sixteen carries to his credit two of them were kneel down body legit carried the ball fourteen times for a hundred twenty yards and he was their top running back no you brought in mark Ingram for that don't have your quarterback take those kind of risk and Lamar knows it too and I get it he had the cardinals defense guessing they were dancing they were chasing he was the one who is dictating and when you have that type of an offense of advantage you want to explore it but I do not think it's a healthy plan long term and I don't think that that's any big revelation you want to be a starting quarterback in the NFL over a long period of time you cannot subject yourself to the guy that hits the running back takes there's a reason why quarterbacks at least the top flight ones last longer in the NFL then your average

If you watched last night's game between between the Eagles and the Falcons well you may have noticed some tongue in cheek ads for tide laundry soap those new ads featuring retired quarterback peyton manning singer Gwen Stefani Bonnie and Baltimore Ravens running back. Mark Ingram are trying to rebrand the NFL from national football league to not for laundry. There are also attempting to persuade viewers to do their laundry on some other night any other night except Sunday. Take a listen peyton manning at a fake press conference with a frantic TV viewer cutting in it happens every Sunday. Your favorite player makes an amazing play and you miss it because you're doing laundry what I miss. I was doing laundry. Don't worry because the NFL has teamed up with tied Tuesday the official laundry night awesome that's right. Sundays are now one hundred percent. NFL Not for laundry but not so fast the ad campaign. Let's assume on the complexities brands actually experience working not just with the National Football Football League but also with the network that airs Sunday night football. NBC in a subsequent spot the voice host Gwen Stefani has a lot to say about the audacity the of the NFL to Saddle Tuesdays with laundry in this ad a young contestant worries that her chances will be hurt by viewers forsaking the show for the household asshole for the season of the voice. Young artists will get the chance of a lifetime to an American wait a minute. We did the NFL. Just try to declare Tuesday night laundry night the voices on Tuesday. I mean Sundays are for laundry. Everyone knows that that's when I do it yeah. She look spotless. It's kind of a big moment for me. Anyone sees it more spots from more stars all trying to push laundry every night around of course no matter when it lands tied wants you to choose its brand which by the way much of America is already doing the market research firms to Teesta says tide overwhelmingly won the laundry wars in two thousand eighteen selling close to two billion dollars worth of soap gain was number two but it's hardly a competition consumer packaged goods giant procter and gamble owns both brands. A distant third is arm and hammer brand owned by a company. You may never have heard of church each and white that conglomerate which now also owns aim toothpaste and Trojan condoms among other things is almost one hundred and seventy five years old. Both proctor and gamble and church and white have grown during the good economy albeit with vastly different strategies. PNG is the world's second largest advertiser according according to industry publication adage. It costs a lot to run all of those ads so it should come as no surprise. The tide is among the most expensive laundry detergents since on the market in contrast arm and hammer has long been seen as a so called value brand that is it's cheaper this summer nervous investors this question proctor and gamble about how it would handle a recession at age reported. PNG struggled mightily during the last one because of its long strategy of pushing premium products not augustine laundry soap either but once bitten twice shy when it comes to those bubbles. PNG is already planning for the worst six years ago. The struggling company introduced used a lower priced version of tied trying to appeal to penny pinching shoppers at the same time though arm and hammer began advertising premium product oxy clean and as with all things in the consumer packaged goods space it relied on a barrage of ads to compete a few years ago oxy clean became the second biggest laundry laundry spender on advertising after tied the upshot well with shaky economic times possibly on the way tide is not resting on its super clean laurels instead instead. It's pulling out all the stops and turning to bankable stars like Winston funny and Peyton manning now there are two big questions one will tied blow throughout the season with a huge not for laundry super bowl ad and to statistically more Americans wash clothes on Sunday nights than any other so now. Repot: Johnny Manziel Signs Contract with Alliance of American Football

"Out there. But here's the other thing is we have another. Other fitting trainwreck that's popped their way onto the scene, and that would be Mr. Johnny Manziel, Johnny football who exiled himself to Canada for a little bit. And he was playing in the CFL. He actually forced his way out of the league. He got them to remove his contract and by doing so he's now signed with the alliance of American football that new backup league that spring league that you've seen games on CBS in NFL network. You might learn what the hell is Johnny Manziel has joined that league. And it's funny because when Manziel when that news broke, I saw it all over the place. Johnny Manziel is one of those names that has a lot of recognition you talk to a lot of people, and I would bet most people that aren't college football fans enough people that aren't college football fans would have some. Idea of who Johnny Manziel is isn't he a football player? I could see that. He's just been in the news a lot over the years for a guy who so young. And and here's the thing about it. Johnny Manziel has been in the news a lot. But it's not because he's a good player. Johnny manziel. Frankly. He sucks he's bad. And I didn't buy him as a prospect. He faded out of the league. And here's how quick it was. He got drafted at twenty fourteen. He got cut at the end of the twenty fifteen season. He lasted two years. That's it. It's horrible. You could really say he was in town for about a year and a half horrible. He goes to the CF L. He sucks there. He's not a good player. But Johnny Manziel is a guy that gets a lot of attention draws a lot of eyeballs people will watch the af for a couple of games watch his Memphis team play because they want to see Johnny Manziel. He's a big name he stumbled that people are attracted to. Why is that? That's what I have to ask. Why? Yeah. He was a Heisman winner. We don't care about a lot of Heisman winners. Where all the blogs about Kris Winky or Jason white where those guys I don't I don't hear much about him. Mark Ingram was a free agent. Former Heisman winner nobody really talked about that. Not a big angle eagles need former Heisman winner. Mark ingram. No, it's it's just not how it went. So nobody cares about Johnny Manziel the football player. Everybody cares about Johnny Manziel. The human train wreck the guy who's going in and out of rehab, the guy who's had all these different issues. Police calls all this different stuff. He's been a disaster. The guy's an absolute mess. The truth is people always drawn to train

Also reports that teddy Bridgewater is gonna stay home in New Orleans and with the latavius Murray signing it sounds like Mark Ingram is going to be leaving the saints moving on the word right now is the Baltimore Ravens are in the lead for his services. And then the big news. It's not saints related. But it's big NFL news is the report that the trade has been completed Odell Beckham junior to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a first a third in

"Southeastern early. Start at four o'clock coal Henry the starting pitcher freshman throwing over thirty pitches. Bobby and at top of the first inning to errors from yellow defense. They loaded the bases was able to get out of it. LSU trail southeastern one to nothing in the bottom of the first now, Josh Smith Batty for LSU. Welcome back to sports talk. We'll give you predictions body for the saints off season. I wrote about it's online for we at wwl dot com. Let's go go through it or removed now from the no call Nola game. Mark Ingram will sign with another team in free agency. He spent his entire career in New Orleans, but he turns thirty years of age league last season. Late next. I should say the saints wanna back, obviously. But he he wants to be back with the saints as well. But I think the saints will get priced out of the market ultimately from working, you agree. Yeah. I get sake because I think based on his production, especially what he's done lately you look at the last four seasons. NFL you heard me. You mentioned this is the number one. Football player say football player is right behind him as Cam Newton not necessarily a running back as far as average per carry at four point eight five, and that's the last four seasons and you talking about a seven hundred fifty attempts basically, so that's a big enough sample size. I mean, if you look at his career and. Thing is he's young. What I mean by that you look at his age, but he's a young thirty year old like more like a twenty seven year old. The reason why I say that he has only three seasons with two hundred plus carries. Meaning obviously doesn't have as much wear and tear. Some other recent thirty euro free agent running back. So I think he got going that in his favor. But then I look at how would they utilize this year? Okay. Let's say. Throughout the season. How many touches you touch because they're gonna throw a look like a short pass along. Handoff with Mark Ingram average of thirteen point eight hundred say right at fourteen touches per game after he returned from his suspension in week five and Alvin Kamara not even counting that meaningless seventeenth week contests that he was sixteen point seven so which is seventeen so those relatively good balance where you look at Ingram fourteen touches to Camaros seventeen. So who knows in the back of his career Angra might wanna go someplace where he's getting five more touches. He's get set a fourteen hazy hitting is getting nineteen to twenty. He did mention on an interview with rich Eisen that he kind of talked about being a feature guy come perhaps going through a team of being the feature run guy could be in today's NFL just getting six more touches, right? What am I getting a twenty touches? Versus what he did this past season. Now as far as the market that I think he's more of said this before more in the market. Like a look Carlos Hyde. Call his hide and you safe in the Jacksonville Jaguars. I thought Leonard fournette was running back. Here's Lynn they pay for net. Right. Unlike six point eight million, basically and Carla's Hyde low over five million, so right if I'm Dan Lewis right at five million with the Tennessee titans. So I think he's in that market like they extreme would be Todd Gurley. Fourteen point three million always going to get that David Johnson thirteen billion yet the two thousand yard total yards with the car. No. That's why he got compensated. But I look I think the falcons paid too much for the Monte free Freeman giving them a eight point two and a half million. So I'm looking at more in the range, the upside would be jerick McKinnon who's been the forty nine is a lot unless you truly follow football Saturday before who who's jerick McKinnon, casual fan, isn't knows whatever it is. Unless you. Follow the forty nine hundred seven and a half million. So I would say it'd be somewhere. I think with Mark Ingram and his campaign is agent issued and for more from I'd say the five to seven and a half million range. Let's say like, I don't know throughout their three years. Twenty one million now what's gonna be guaranteed? What's up front? I think even with a thirty oh running back. You don't want to give them more. I'd say more than a three year contract now. Like, okay, a five year contract or stuff like that? I I couldn't see the saints debris back. I think it's in that neighborhood of a three year contract. The saints will release Kirk Coleman. That's another prediction for me. Last spring the saints sign a veteran to a three year backloaded contract. He produced very little his first season with the saints. And he counts for seven million dollars against the cap this year, the saints cut Coleman, they'll save four million dollars and will eat three million dollars of dead cap space Coleman played just three defensive snaps in the in the postseason. Well, yes, because he's a veteran that because they give free of that cat room, and Kristian, my standing, I if you look at it, the moves could get the saints of about seventeen million in total space along Eamon, we Cameron Meredith nano, but that's mainly Kirk Coleman. And when you look at it he played thirty five or Senator snaps in the regular season and just three David's of snaps during the postseason, so really Kurt Coleman. I guess I don't know. Just a good guy in the locker room in the meeting room and can help these young safeties. But no, you looked at the progression of von bell. And what he did. I think he took that next step even more than Marcus Williams. And Kurt Coleman. Maybe you could say he had a better attitude, but I don't even think Kurt Coleman in h uniform was as good as Kenny Vaccaro. Evaluated that way. So. Kirk Coleman for sure. I don't know. I guess I'm not in charge. But but I'd be shocked if he was just looking at three defensive snaps. He played in the postseason tells you a lot tells you a whole lot Mike Thomas will get a contract extension. This off season led the saints at a record setting season hundred twenty catches four hundred and five yards nine touchdowns. And he's crossed the thousand yard receiving Mark in each of his first three seasons with the saints. And he's entering the final year of his contract. And the saints will do the wise thing I think an income long-term before it gets through the the twenty thousand nine season because then is value just goes up. Yeah. They're gonna have to pay. In this and you want to compensate players. And I think the fans are all on board with this that you get paid based on your production on the field. So I think no one would have a problem as far as the saints fan base. Paid Michael Thomas. You look at his contract expires at the end of the two thousand nine hundred nine season. So I don't think they want to wait to the end next season. Del Beckham junior. He kind of said the market for star wide out a five year ninety million the alas off season. Look at Tampa Bay's, Mike Evans, I they when you say, I I I think I think I'm I'm one hundred percent, right. Michael Thomas is more like a Mike Evans with have been yet. Odell just their skill set where they do you look Mike Evans, very expensive signed a five year eighty two million dollar contract last year. So I would say is agent. That'd be Michael Thomas agent is definitely looking in that area like a Mike Evans type contract considering the skins. He's put on the wall. So I don't know Kristie kinda look at sixteen billion a year. Roughly that's in that neighborhood. Because look at look at Brandin cooks got paid. With the Rams and a little guy. Brandin cooks gain home, Michael Thomas jug, and another gives Brandin cooks, she's a little bitty guy. But as some reason why even as productive. He's wasn't a Saint uniform and even how he contributed with the patriots. He went to back to back suicide law the Super Bowl the pages loss Thomas resumes. Resumes way better than the Brandin cooks overall ability to play receiver Brandin cooks to me. Would be on any team. I've said this before a top number two receiver on everything. But to beat it alpha dog that that number one to me just two little now words, you could be little like Tonio Brown. But I don't have that that that statue that physicality, right? You know when you try ours. Remember, Steve Smith. Yeah. That's how strong he was. You don't see that any Brandon? No, you don't want to one LSU in southeastern tied in the bottom of the first is a sports talk here on wwl..

Samuels Doug Martin and Corey Davis. It's Samuels and Ingram. If Connor is out. And it's Martin and Ingram if Connors in and what's frustrating is you're not gonna know about Connor when you need to make a decision on Martin Samuels. You might end up just having to stick with Martin Ingram. The also has Jeff Wilson Gloria also Jeff Wilson. So that's right. And in that case. Yeah, I I'm not sure who I'd get rid of here from that group. If Wilson is the only guy in a half p PR. That that's the case, right? What? Yes. Martin Ingram Martin Ingram. Is it the monkeys or something the monkeys? Yeah. Sure, it seems as though running backs perform better on the short week on Thursday night with the defense as being tired. Do you ever ranked players differently based on this is their data to support the theory? I I did have. Data to support it. It was pretty good and past couple years. It's been debunked a little bit especially earlier in the year when the players refresh. But it's absolutely been the case to to certain degree. The last Thursday game of the year between the chargers chiefs. It worked out the we before worked out great for Derrick Henry not so much for Leonard for net. I think I think it's much easier.

"If you're actually trying to look in that direction. The problem with Mark Ingram. We've seen is aside from that first game back in Washington where he had two touchdowns. He hasn't found the end zone in the three game sense and last year hugest who scoring touchdowns ridiculous rate, and he has to be incredibly efficient given the amount of touches they in again because he's just not getting the touches. I mean, you know, what sixteen carries the first game back in Washington. But no more than thirteen carries since any somebody might catch two three balls tops. So the the volume is not anywhere near the volume that Alvin Kamara is going to get I think the biggest problem with with Mark with me training, Mark Ingram. If I own Mark Ingram is number one. I waited for him for what four weeks which isn't the biggest factor as not as big as the fact that like it's going to be hard to trade him. He's coming off three bad weeks in a row when I know what he's capable of voice all ask year and as a long season. So I think with Mark Ingram. It really just comes down to what your record is. If you are. A winning team that is on track to make the playoffs. And or you know, you're in good position to grab one of those first round byes than I think you just hold on a Mark Ingram. If you can't get, you know, a fair market value. Mark Ingram anything less than a hundred percent of the value that you would have got you know, when he came back from the by. But if you're a team that's under five hundred and you're really scraping to to get into the playoffs. And you're a must win territory. Then I think I'm fine trading him for you know, fifty percent. Not pennies on the dollar, but definitely below fair market value. I guess that makes any sense. I just I just think that he's like he's a proven commodity. He's he hasn't been great. And we know that I'll Kamar is a drain on his fantasy upside, but he's still a solid producer. And I think you will be assault producer as he's and goes on. Yeah. My my biggest thing I've kind of know slow last couple of weeks. It was just you know, when you see you know, I down goal one yard line. Don't give it Ingram. Not that. Obviously, Kamara is completely competent. We talk about time. You don't need to go back to the one yard. It's one of the biggest myths and football, but you know, him not getting those types of golden opportunities that makes it like valuable touches than that really hampers his production value..

"So I've seen them no break a number of records have number milestones that he's accomplished, but for him to be all time passing leader and to be able to witness it on the field him on a Monday night game in the fashion that he did on a long touchdown pass. It was only right for drew and he such hard worker such a great person such a great teammate, the most down to earth, humble, individual your meat, and he just puts in so much work day in and day out. So for him to be able to reach the milestone all time, passing leader, NFL history. I, I'm super excited him. He deserves it and he's the best ever to do it. So I'm drew Brees advocate. Well much is made Mark Ingram about Alabama, sending pro ready kids to the next level. What did you when you came out of Alabama, learn or glean as a rookie from drew breeze that you still carry today? How to be a professional to come in and prepare yourself day in and day out to be the best you could be for the team. He was just in there every single morning. I see him. You know, you try to get there early. He's in there watching film already. He's doing the same routine before practice. He he's going through every single read, you know, in routes on air team reps, he just showed you how to be appro. He showed you had to take care of your body, anything you needed to know me just look for drew. He wasn't the only great better than I had around me. You know, other guys like Wilson from Harper, Lance more markets costing urges number guys who you know that were veterans that kinda showed me the way man Kam door and we were rookies man, and it was just a blessing to have guys like that to learn from and grow from. And I've been able to grow withdrew for eight years and appreciate that guy more than anything. 'cause like you said. Man, he just he just shows you how to be a pro. He lead by example, if you need to. He goes encouraging. He's always positive. Never never never negative towards a team mate or towards any situation. So there's a blessing to be over that when quarterback from my career. And so what, what? Gimme your favorite story of him in the huddle, whether it's a comeback or just a a really pressurized play where he came in and did something gimme gimme your favorite brief story. If you have one. Man, there's a million drew Brees stories now, but I remember one time I'm one five, he dropped that man. He something must have happened with the communication of the protection because we have somebody comes scot-free, free, manages blow drew up. He blew drew up in we all over. They try to pick them up. His lip was bleeding. Lip was bleeding, but like next play, right? He wasn't mad. He wasn't frustrated. His lip was still bloody. He called the play, and I think we would to score touchdown the next drive, but it just shows the grit. He had the toughness of him, you know, just for your team to blow protection and you get blowed up the franchise QB guy who we know we can't let him get hit. We know we can't let him you sack. I think the titans of maybe like three years ago, but I think a wreck, poke pain. Free off the edge glue drew lip bleed bleeding. No. And you know he got back with that huddle card to play for us, and we're able to get a first down and and go score a touchdown on drive. So just the grit, you know that he has made it admirable. And when your quarterback is bleeding in his mouth is out of lip, still playing able to focus and still be able to put his team in position have success. I think that just said a lot about his character and how tough he is man, but haven't mean thousand drew Brees stories that we could talk about for hours. So have you ever in a quiet moment brought up with Nick saving being a national champion and Heisman Trophy winner out of Alabama, having the standing to ask Nick saving? What happened in Miami?.

I was just working man, just making sure I was ready to go win. It was my time to get back. What did you learn from the sit down from the league market? You learn anything glean anything? Yeah, just made me hungrier, you know, just a, it's just you can't take these games for granted. You know, I love it on my heart man ever since I was a little kid. So just to Bill, just not to my. Team not to be be there. You know, prepare working with them. You know, it made me, hungry man made me appreciate this game. Not taking anything for granted, not take any day for granted mass. So it just made me hungrier and way more appreciative. And I'm excited to be back with guys, know came in. Do you think the system was fair? Do you think this the league system was fair with you marking. You know, I'm just trying to move on past it. You know it was tough situation. You know, like I said a while ago, I didn't really agree with, you know everything that happened, but you know it's over with now, so it doesn't even matter. But. It is what it is. Okay. "Hour number three of the rich Eisen show is on the air here. We've got Mark Ingram of the New Orleans Saints fresh back from a four-game suspension of that. He returned and got not one, but two touchdowns. It still is the sole reason. In my mind to this date, I've suffered my only fantasy loss of the season and I'm I don't. I can't. I can't have it. I can't take it. It's very difficult for me to handle. That's why I used actual real estate with Sean Payton last week when he came on the show to find out how viable is Alvin Kamara still as a fantasy threat. He said, don't give up on him just yet sit tight. I'm reading that he's going to they're gonna split tarries again. And again, I just think it's going to be catches catch Cana as a game goes along. Now they play the ravens next. I'm imagining that Ingram is going to be used as a battering ram quite a bit or Camaro trying to create some form of matchup problem for the ravens defense. At camp comes off, eleven sack performance and also beat on Baker Mayfield the week before, and let's not forget the ravens won in Pittsburgh. The ravens are one of those teams like we're still trying to figure out who are they because they're in this mix there in the mix for the division. They're in the mix for wildcard spot. They are in this mix. And they're gonna start using Lamar Jackson, a little bit more. He almost scored a touchdown this past week against Tennessee, but don't you feel that way about the ravens every year, just confused about what they are, who they are because they play great against good teams. They play bat against not great team because in this day and age, whereas I said, I think this is the going to be the theme, the running theme that defense no longer wins championships offense does defense gives you a chance and the ravens offense over the last several years has been pedestrian. And this year it's definitely improved Crabtree Snead Brown. Their group of Thai got four tight ends and including the. You know their first round draft choice that's coming back healthier, you know, eight hers. So, and you know, they're the running back group is getting better too. Marketing is going to be joining us on the show. Let's get a news update from Chris Brockman here on the rich Eisen show please. Chris. You have the floor. "So I don't really have a problem with the ADP of those three m a little bit less optimistic about Russell Wilson just because I'm worried about I'm worried about their offense as a whole and. I'm worried about their game plan, and so I I wouldn't take Wilson in the fifth, but the rest of these guys are fine with me. I Jamie, let's take a look at the next four picks fifty three through fifty six, Mark Ingram, golden Tate. Remember this half PR Tate's the twenty third wide receiver off the board Ingram's the twenty-third running back off the board Mark Ingram, then Evan engram, then Marvin Jones. Mark Ingram, golden Tate, Evan Ingraham and Marvin Jones. We're at the point in the draft middle of round five and a twelve team league where we are tapping out the top twenty four of running backs receivers. And again, they are Mark Ingram, golden Tate, Evan Ingraham, Marvin Jones, your thoughts, Jamie love Ingram, taking the spot. Hey, Evan Ingram in the spot. Sorry, love Mark Ingram and golden Tate in the spot hit, hey, Evan Ingraham in the spot, and I'm fine with my daughter. Finally, Marvin just so Tate. Obviously is going to be a head I shouldn't say, obviously, but I assume it's obvious Jamie Tait ahead of Marvin Jones and PR. Right four point. Any PR scoring. I would take data had Marvin Jones. He's gonna catch. Ninety passes. That's what he does. And I don't think he will be impacted by Kenny golladay like Marvin Jones. How about non PBR? Jamie? Who do you which lie wide receiver d like, don't do you think take be impacted by the run game there because a lot of what he does, you know, short area passes screens, quick hits. Do you think that that goes away a little bit if they're able to run the ball more? I think it does, but until I see it, I'm still ranking Tate. Like he's gonna get those ninety catches. I don't have a concern with the run game improving impacting Tate. I think take will be the same guy. He's been because it's not. They're going to have the ball more. I don't think that the gonna change, Matthew Stafford volume dramatically. So while I expect them to run the ball better, I still spectate to have his usual complement of production. All right. Last picks of round five six fifty seven through sixty. I'll give you the first eight again. We'll know cooks Wilson Brady, Jimmy, Graham, Mark Ingram, golden Tate, ebbing room, Marvin Jones. And finally, these four, Lamar Miller Jarvis Landry Sony, Michelle, and Greg Olsen the mar- Miller Jarvis Landry Sony Michelle in Greg Olson in half PR he this is the end of round five. Yeah. I think Lamar Miller. There is very good value, and I expect with the former news, his ADP will start. To climb. I am not really interested in spending a fifth round pick on Sony, Michelle there. I'd rather take Rex Burkhead their rig Olson's. Fine. And then the other one Landry Jarvis Landry. If this that's probably just about right. I would take Landry earlier than this in a full PR. I wouldn't take him this early in a non PR. So in half PR that's this is probably a good spot for him as well. So I think there's two picks there with Olsen Landry that are right where they need to be Michelle's too early and Lamar Miller is not going to be available at this point for much longer. I, you think Michelle's too early. He will very split on him. So people really excited about Sony, Michelle, Jamie is Michelle at fifty nine overall, the twenty fifth running back off the board half PR. Is that good value? What do you think. Knows not good value. It could be by the time the year's over, but going into it. No, you have like, like you said, you have experts said I, I'm very curious to see how they're gonna use James white enjoying elements absence because I think he's gonna end up playing a lot more on the field maybe with one of these guys, if he's on the field, one of them, it would make a lot of sense. He's on the field with more so than with Michelle. But if you go back to start last season, they gave the big. The big back at the time was guilty could be Jeremy l. they gave that guy a lot of work.

"The final snap of that vikings saints game when the saints season ending mark ingram has wanted a contract extension from the saints and look objectively here marking probably deserves a contract extension from the saints they have album camera but mark ingram has been one of the best all purpose running backs in the league and it wasn't just alvin kamara last year that made that backfield so potent you're talking about fifteen hundred yards of offense for mark ingram he's been an all pro before he's a perennial pro bowler he's excellence in in pass protection we know he can run the football he's pretty good receiving the ball especially on these screenplays mark ingram is one of the five best backs in the nfl period he just is and i think the saints would have been foolish not to resign him at least after the season so he is he started not technically holding out because he's reports are is gonna show up to minicamp the mandatory minicamp he won't be there for voluntary workouts throw ta's but i don't understand his stance here pressuring the organization through those are called a mini hold out here or a full holdout it's not technically your whole going gonna show up for what's mandatory but he's also not doing anything else other than what's mandatory is not going to be there when the rest of his teammates are during these voluntary workouts and not as and this would make a lot more sense to me again if ingram weren't under a fourgame suspension by the nfl for performance enhancing drugs violation of that policy i tim you put it pretty perfectly before for you say it again i don't want to mess up your phrasing on this but what did you say before about ingram.
