"A blue jacket six thirty pregame show with mark Dampierre on or mark Hanna mais Elliotte Friedman would say who will join us at eleven by the way and working on a couple other alumni maybe to join us throughout the day but two thousand and I just saw the video don't know I I know one of the videos are worn on there's going to be multiple videos videos yeah all the videos so obviously throughout the night it's going to be around the two thousand and that decade so I think what we saw is the opening of the when they're going to present the alumni onto the ice I think that's the video they're gonna show but obviously there is going to be ceremony before just the puck drop tonight so I want to know what now so is like a it was like stars on forty five from the Beatles Hey but only a bunch of different songs like all kinda molded together and then highlights and stuff like that in the song that made me most nostalgic in there anybody wanna gas it was the rolling stones coincidentally enough were coming coming up in the night with me or us and it was so street fighting man okay do you ever that song when when we come out to that it was early on you were here you're probably too focused on the game I was taking in all the atmosphere in the environment but that that that song let me believe all did it make you emotional watching that video well you came in later in the two thousand so you were obviously here for some of that right at the end of that in the in the two thousands and into the you know to twenty eight and not not emotional I am I am extremely pumped up I mean what what a fantastic video watching all those players a lot of guys that I that I've played with her played against and it was it is an incredible video I can not wait for the fans to see this it is it something else in made me emotional I'll it won't lie to you I we were just hanging outside the alumni room here on the two hundred level and the house lights were down and also in the music came on and we knew something was being tested on the jumbotron so we all ran out so I kind of caught me off guard a little bit and then I saw the video and the fans and the celebration and and some of that stuff I wasn't even here for but it made me a more so I'll be honest with you I got a little teary eyed and I walk back in here and I was like who who died like I needed a minute here mazing it was amazing video and you know I would you show it to the players before the game if you're Ralph Krueger and you know you have this you see guys I want you guys in the room five minutes before you usually get in the room I want to show you something do you press play and showed him that anyone why hybrid percent yeah at the end of that you hear me I I was your age yeah let's do this yeah I mean I was extremely pumped up after watching that video there so many great memories here in buffalo now they'll still be on the bench and they'll see the video on the jumbotron but do you show it to them in a setting where you want them to understand what it was all about I would I would because I I just think the emotions I'll tell ya just watching that and feeling that and obviously you're you're you you felt the emotion yeah I was I can't wait for the fans to see this video they did a terrific job on on putting this together in capturing all the the the many moments I mean I don't want to say oh yeah but I mean it's going to be a treat for the fans tonight and there's some moments in there that it kind of caught me by surprise because you think of the two thousands and you're thinking all five or six oh six oh seven you're thinking that the breeder Drury Finnigan of Roy palm until then ask era Miller obviously but there is also a part to that decade that was early two thousand where you know we played Philly enough in the in the playoffs where we played Pittsburgh we're so there's there's still some early two thousand moments that I would not have associated with that decade and then you're like oh my goodness that that happened in two thousand one I remember that happened in two thousand I remember so it was really cool well what one of the plays that I saw on there and and and I mean Brad Mays made a goal is is the probably the greatest saber goal in in history that our palm and bill but there's a regular season goal that was scored ended the highlight is in there and when I was talking with the guys over here if it was an accident or not we don't know but that Max offend again off goal in Tampa Bay he's literally flying backwards and pulls the park between his legs and spins around and wraps around the goalie and knocks it in on his forehand and John Graham was the goalie by the way that it was just so because you guys wouldn't all I would have known that I don't know.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you presented by Mark. Hanna of evergreen, wealth strategies. Grant Wistrom grant. I it's great to hear from you. I know a lot of listeners go. Yeah. I think he's in. I think he's in Springfield. And I think he's coaching football. And I think he has a gym. So are all of those things accurate. You know, you're getting about seven fifty. Springfield. Like do Cohen across the down here across this field. Coaching coaching really was would be what was the issue. I enjoyed it. Well, you know, I got into high school jumped into high school right away. And I didn't enjoy it at all it wasn't. It wasn't the type of program that I was used to. I dunno. Just didn't appreciate the kids. More a good football team in an attitude that permeated throughout it, and then just being a coach and not the head coach you have so little control that and it just it really rubbed me the wrong way the way things are done. So and then also the biggest issue though, was a time issue for me at the time. I kids were like five and three, and so I've gone from, you know, two o'clock in the afternoon till eight o'clock at night coaching kids that aren't even buying when you know, I should be around my kids at that point evening. So you know, that was that was a bigger bigger issue. But then my. My my son started playing and I got to coach him for a couple of years, and that was an absolute blast. Hold your coaching him. Seven got him started right away. It only lasted a couple of years for him. I just not for him. But just to I loved it. And someday I could see him. You know, my kids are grown, and I need something to do going back into volunteer and coaching you still off somewhere as it was a blast. So when you're talking cross cross fit is that something that you do or you just have ownership in in across victim. You know, I don't compete at it. I'm in there working out pretty much every day. My wife competes at it. She's amazing shape placed fifth in her age group at the cross stitch world championship the medicine last phasing I win there. So I yeah. Yeah. It's she something else. I go in there. So I can eat and drink whatever. I why not look totally disgusting when I take my clothes off. So. So much thinner than when you were playing now. Yeah, I'm about thirty pounds lighter. But cross it so much about the community. We have an amazing community of people here, and we've been beset by tragedy in the last couple of weeks and just see and the way the community came together. What tragedy? Do you speak of? I'm not sure what. Well, you know back. We had a coach here. A kid was an amazing young man. He basically, do you want to be marine his whole life went to marine officer school was, you know, graduated a second Lieutenant and before he had just cheese on November third. He had completed underwater our marine water survival school. So we've over a course of like three weeks. He'd just got done swimming, like forty five miles an open ocean. One of the most amazing human being Jeter be around and he went to hospital on like the eleventh with a stomach ache. Well, his he was can't chest. Abdomen with swelling. And he thought he had some internal bleeding from training or something they went in. And they just found some tumors in stomach in two weeks later he passed away. I guess it was that aggressive. Yeah. So he had just got married this past August. So, you know, just coming together to support his family and just being there for them. It's that's what that's what it's all about. And that's why I love it as much as the workout component for me. It's the community. That's all it's always about every cross facility. I'm curious because I I work out. You know, what I would imagine. It'd be considered the old school way. You know, one day you're doing chest the next day debt left next day shoulders and squads than arms, whatever it is. And then some high intensive interval training. That's my bag the cross fit thing strikes me as being you know, way more intense than you know, let's do a set and then rest for a couple of minutes, and let's get back after it d- like the the cross fit more than the old school way..

"And it's another case. And it's a good situation for me because it'd be weird if I'm endorsing people who I don't necessarily believe in wouldn't do that. So this is really nice when I'm a big fan of them. So Ryan Kelly and Mark Hanna of evergreen, wealth strategies and James Carlton of state farm insurance. These are people that that I now know and I love talking about to the audience because I know if you do business with them, you're going to be happy that you did. And that's an important part of the game. You know? I mean, listen, I gotta have advertisers. Because I don't have a podcast if I don't have advertisers. That's that's reality. And I guess I could do one. But I'm not looking for an additional hobby. It's about making sure though that if I am telling you about an advertiser that you know, that I'm not bullshitting you that's the most important thing. And so when I talk about Mark Hanna of evergreen wealth strategies at evergreen, S T, L dot com. What I'm telling you is this. I've had a number of people now since they've heard about him on the podcast reach out to me and say, you know, what I took. If you up on it. And man were you write this guy is good, and I am going to work with him. And I it's more actually not only as good, but his attention to detail in the customer service, and that's the that's the stuff that for me. That's where you get me. If somebody is attentive, I had somebody somebody's telling me about a client loved being associated with the show because I got back to them right away. And I'm going, what's what's the other choice to not respond? So to me, it kind of strikes me as you know, bare minimum. But hey, that's that's kind of rare which is sad. But it is. And so make sure you're doing business with somebody who has good customer service, but also is going to take care of you. And that's Mark Hanna evergreen wealth strategies online at evergreen S T L dot com or.

Curb your enthusiasm. Scream remember that movie with Campbell and rose McGowan baby. I know you're talking about the great Wilson. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I guess a lot of the movie channel for showing Halloween. Tight movies are scary movies and janey Kennedy's job in that movie was working at a video store and that exacting cross my money. Like man that guy would not have a job today because there are no video stores. But no, I'm not not driving to the video store. But you will not tell us what you're doing either. I will not. The audience they can tweet at me with their thoughts on the end of the year is fast approaching and this is the time to get your urine finances set up. I had no idea at that. I had lunch with Mark Mark Hanna last week. And he was saying this is the absolute busiest time of the year. And I said really that surprises me. But then I gotta think about it. And it makes sense for a lot of us. People have young kids. I certainly do and planning for education costs is on our minds. Mark Hanna reminded me that in both Missouri, Illinois, you may be eligible for state tax deduction for putting money into a five twenty nine plan. But for two thousand eighteen you have to put the money in by the end of the year. Don't wait things are always so busy for all of us. And for most of us. We put off doing things to the last minute. Call Marquette at three one four eight nine zero five zero three and he can help you figure out if a college savings plan is the right thing for your needs..

"Of getting covered in, you know, with with the post-dispatch fancies or media views, calm. And even with that, I can tell you how frustrating it is to get up in the morning and read something that you know is factually inaccurate. But if you know you say it's factually inaccurate stout bitching like like, I'm like defending it, you know, like he'd off protest too much. So I can't imagine what it's like to be in a spot where you're running for an office, you know, president or otherwise, and. Read things that you know are untrue and how that would piss you off. And as I always say regarding DNC's or if he wants to rip the show or rip me, that's fine. But I just want the facts to be accurate, but sometimes it's not his fault. I think he gets stuff from people who you know, might have vested interest in trying to portray something one way to to cover for themselves. And I've I, I I know firsthand instances in my career where that's happened happening. It goes back my God. I can the first one I think I can think of two thousand seven two thousand thirteen two thousand seventeen. I mean they're all over the place that I can think of. So I get it and I get people's frustration with it. The thing that I find to be convenient is it works when it when it works with one's candidate or political party, and then it doesn't work when it does not work for once candidate or political party. And I feel like if you want to gain credibility than your principal is ahead of your party or your. Titian Ben. Thank you so much for the question. I hope that didn't go too far into the weeds, but I tried to give it from the perspective of somebody who not only wasn't journalism school, but at least at the time. And I think this is still the case considered to be one of the best journalism schools in the country. And in my first hand account, which certainly would be limited politically. But you know, I do recall thinking I do specifically recall thinking, hey, Mark Hanna is the presenting sponsor of our guests every week here on the Tim Kernan show, and I had a chance to have lunch with Mark just yesterday as a matter of fact, and we were telling each other stories of, you know, just looking back because I, we're like, I think the exact same age and gone my God. How about this? You know, regarding just financial decisions that are so basic but so damaging and you don't realize that in ideally, you eventually realize it and hopefully realize that when you're still in your twenties. And that's why when I, when I talk about. Mark Hanna on the show. I kind of, you know, I have copy points here and that's, that's that's the, that's the name of the game. And I understand that. But I really want to get the audience's attention and say to you with an amount sincerity that is is deep and really from first hand perspective as possible, the importance of having a financial adviser. And so when I was talking to Mark about yesterday, I think sometimes there's a reputation in our industry that people are shadier. They're out to tell people they need something that they don't need. And honestly, I'm not aware of that, but that's his industry. And so maybe he's more conscious of it than I would be like when I talk about sports, talk radio in and people all my God and I go, yeah. I mean, this is kind of the way we've lived this for, you know, more than a decade. We don't think anything of it. But then when you tell somebody who's not on the inside and they go my God, I can't believe that. Oh, yeah, that's that's what's going on. So Mark knows. And and so then this gives me the chance to say this. I, he's like the most sincere. Good hearted person you could ask for and and he's not looking to like all of a sudden like he meets with unique, it's grand or something like that. That's not the way that it works. He you give you give him your information and he enters it in and gives you an idea of where you are and he organized it for you..

"Three or online at evergreen asked, he'll that come and here's the thing until the land. Note and maybe I don't know. I'm young to be doing this role to be doing this right in the sweet spot. I have no idea but the, but now that we have a child of one year old, you you start getting your, you know, state planning done, I guess it's probably not something you look forward to doing because you're talking about dying and all these other things, but you gotta do it. I mean, it's the right thing to do. So I was doing this. I happened to be doing it yesterday and the attorney with whom I'm working, said something along the lines of, you know, issue saying, you know, my this family member was, you know not really good at it, whereas I was just so conscious of what I was doing with money at sixteen and I go, oh God, it made me feel awful to hear that because for real and I guess it's helpful if I tell the story, but it doesn't change the fact I did it. It's embarrassing, but real. I was putting money in a savings account up until I was forty, which is just hideous. But that's what I was doing. And and you go you, you might be on lots what I do too, or we'll. Yeah, I do. Do that whatever the case might be. And then I then my financial adviser took a look at it and goes, what are you doing? And I go, um, saving money, and he goes, yeah, but with you know, I mean, what do you make them? Like zero zero zero zero. Zero point. Zero zero, zero. Zero point. Zero zero, zero one on that money. I mean, that's just terrible and and aimless and because because people don't talk about their money, understandably. And so if you don't know, it's not something that's just gonna come up in everyday conversation. Let's you're, you're running at parties in the park or something, and people are boasting about their portfolios. So now that I've gotten to know Mark Hanna, I now not only why I became aware here within the last couple of years that I was messing up and it's embarrassing. I'm trying to set our audience on the right path. But secondarily, this is somebody that I can fully wholeheartedly recommend to you. I in, it's not going to be like, okay, here comes a bunch of paperwork, and here comes a huge commission, earning those things. Not what I'm saying. It's about organizing and I and my guess is if you are conscious of it and feeling like you could be doing better. I know how I am and I have like some anxiety of my. I gotta tend to this thing. I got attended this thing, but I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do and just taking the step to call and then realizing what they do for you, which is organizing it, and then that puts you at ease. Oh, I'm so happy to be able to talk about Mark, Hanna, evergreen wealth strategy because I know how much it can help and how much when it gets down to it might feel like something you don't need, but actually, at some point, you will realize that you really do need it. So please give him a call and you'll be happy that you did. And if you're if you're not then Email me and say, you are wrong brother, but I'm telling you, you're going to be happy..

"I will be honest. I did not see one second of the Missouri game last week because I was traveling and southwest does not offer any form of watching Missouri play a Tennessee Martin on a third or fourth year network. But here's what I do know why? Oh, Ming was close last week with Washington state heading into the fourth quarter. It was a one point difference at that point. Then Washington state opened up and just started throwing the hell out of the ball, even more and they give up twenty one points in the fourth quarter, which says to me, this is a team that cannot close, Missouri is going to be able to throw it will against Wyoming, and I will lay that eighteen and a half Joe's going with the fighting Tigers g unit. I am going to take Wyoming anti-tiger plus eighteen and a half. Well, I think I think Tim's probably going to go Mizzou if I had to bet I, I'm so such a coin flip. Are you already in strategy now? After attitude stuff, Joe and I'll do like in January of so many already back to, right, right. Well, I, I mean, I that's partially the reason why I wanna pick and I think that they're going to they're going to cover. I see this as kind of a thirty four to twenty four game. I really liked the over before this weather scare, but with when the weather is bad, I generally think underdog and away team. You get less people in in the home end zone there. And people are just kind of want to get out of the stadium, especially a big line there. You're probably not going to have many fans left at Mizzou. If the weather's bad, slow pace because of the the rain eighteen and a half is a lot of points. So I'm I'm thinking, thirty four, twenty four. We're presenting a compelling case, my honest, it's as king pocket queens, the math on this thing because the weather I hate this because it's so difficult to handicap. And the games will count just as much as games where we are confident in the weather, or we know it's being played. Indoors, I'm so back and forth on this thing. I really am. I gotta go with my instinct in my instinct is Wyoming and I hate that. But that's, that's where I am not because I think they're going to win, but just for the reasons you cited g unit, I think you make compelling case and I will go with Wyoming. I'm not really excited about the play. I wish we weren't playing the game, but that is what we have agreed to do in this time. We're going to be dealing with weather circumstances. So to you tonight, both on Wyoming producer, Joe is on Missouri eighteen and a half is the number producer, Joe five and one last week. So before we go to you with your four picks, let me thank our sponsor producer Joe on the phone lines, and that sponsor is Mark Hanna of evergreen wealth strategies. He has gotten on board here with Tim mckernan show, and we were very grateful for his support. And I've, I've been talking here on the last couple of months about just completely botched managing my money in my twenties, my thirties. And so that's why Mark Hanna is such a perfect sponsor. For this program because I know there are a number of people who didn't know any better when they were in their twenties and thirties, and then they look back when they get to their forties and fifties and go, oh my God, I could have been doing this. Why wasn't I doing this? While you can with Mark Hanna era, green wealth strategies, give him a call at three one, four, eight, nine, zero, five, zero three or check them out online at evergreen s. t. l. that com. His name is Mark Hanna, and the thing that I like about him so much outside of the fact that you are going to get on the right track and you aren't going to like have to like give up seventy five percent of your income in order to do. So it's that the the plan includes organizing for you. And I think what that does is not only put you on the right path, but I think it reduces some anxiety. People. Understandably have about not knowing any better of what to do with their money..

Hello producer, Joe. Joe g unit had a bad week to start. We both had good weeks to start and we'll take a look at the numbers here as we are through one week of pick six and the audience response to this was very positive. So I have to credit gang gangster Pete on that where we don't just all pick a game mutually. We picked our own games minus the Missouri game, which we all will pick and then do have a lock, Joe, you went five and one losing your lock? I went four and one. My lock didn't play. It was rained out. It was Nebraska minus twenty six and g unit. One in five in producer, Joe g unit would like to have a moment to explain his performance g unit. The floor is yours. Well, Joe, the issue here, I'm not in the business of making excuses I, this was a tough week. One is always tough, but let me make a few excuses about about these games. Absolutely. So Mizzou I did not cover that game. Final score was do you won? Fourteen Missouri was minus thirty five. You barely missed, barely missed. It took Tennessee. Mark. I did take the loser, but I believe the score that I called us fifty one seventeen. That's pretty damn close to fifty. One fourteen game was played the exact same way. My problem was I predicted that seventy five yard bust out, run at the end to cover didn't happen. So would you like to give him the win? Because it was close. He handicapped it just about right. But unfortunately it's that just about portion that gets him. I mean, I can make excuses for the one game I lost or even to make excuses for all five, that you owe producer. Joe is coming g unit. Now you got another situation. Unfortunate. Wow, that's happening. Quick. Go over under was week four and it's already happening. So you're talking about Burnley we can get to Burnley here in a little bit. Let me just wrap this up. There we go. You're going to get him going very bandy. Here's what I'll say. I'm not gonna have an excuse on all of them. The middle, Tennessee State bad bet. They lost thirty five, seven, Vanderbilt you were getting three points. Yeah, bad bet. You were on Auburn, Washington over that was forty eight and a half. The total wound up being thirty seven, that one should have been a winner and I'll tell you. I mean, we were on pace at halftime, right? What we have gangster fifteen, thirteen at half. And then Washington just stopped. They stalled out. They were an inside the fifteen yard line six times and got one touchdown out of it if they played again, expect Washington to win. But yeah, that that was just a that was just a second half. Now one is tough and and and over the weekend, there were two different instances where I was wondering if if mulligans can be played that one, Washington doesn't even travel their starting left tackle. And when we're recorded that on Thursday, you know, we had no idea about who wasn't. Who wasn't going to be healthy to play that that one is a tough one for you. And then secondarily, Tim's lock, you know that that that gets washed out on Saturday night. And then I thought they were gonna play at ten thirty on Sunday. And then that doesn't happen because Akron decided to depart town that those are two that are hard. If we're gonna record on Thursday that you just don't know about the weather situation. We're always at the mercy there. Then you also had the over on Wisconsin which was fifty two and a half, and they scored thirty seven total. The one that you did hit g unit was Maryland getting thirteen f. a nice play. They want straight up and then the lock you had Troy. Your reasoning was the media tends to be higher on Boise state than they deserve and Troy loss fifty six to twenty. We're getting ten points. Terrible bet. No, excuse on that one. All right, fair enough producer Joe. You were perfect heading into your luck with taking Missouri with taking Auburn with taking the fighting Irish with taking role, Todd, ant..

"In credit card debt. Now would be a big deal, but when you're twenty two feels like a million dollars like you'll never get out of that hole. And and so the way I operated is I just I spent a lot of what I made, which was just in hindsight, you look back on the, oh, what was I do? But I would meet with people about, you know, investing or four one ks and accumulate had her, you know, I mean, that'll never. That'll never be something I'm worried about and it's just sighted and I get it. Listen, you're in your twenties right now you're on. Yeah, it's not a concern of mine and I don't know how I can get the message across, not to say, listen, you need to pay attention to what's going to happen when you're sixty five or something like that. That's not what I'm saying. But just setting aside something is so smart in your twenties because it compounds and it gives you such a nice base to work from as you get in your thirties, forties, and fifties. And that would be my council on it and in which you need is somebody who can point you in the right direction. And that's Mark Hanna of evergreen wealth strategies. If I had Mark back in my early twenties, I'd be in a much better place now at forty one than I am and that's on me. It's not to blame anybody. But here I am presenting to you somebody who I can recommend. And the other thing is, I think part of the stress for people is I read books on, you know, whether it be entrepreneurial ventures or just, you know, getting essentially getting things done as blunt as that is beginning the process of getting things done in one of those steps is simply getting organized and Mark helps you with that. He knows what you need, you might just walk in. Here's a bunch of stuff that I have and then they'll they'll take care of it from there and the have somebody be able to do that that puts your mind at ease. I think it helps reduce anxiety. Plus you put you on the right path for your both short term and long term financial interests. Mark is with evergreen. Wealth strategies. They're online at evergreen s. t. l. dot com..
