"Love, you know, he's been fantastic. Tim miles has just successfully brokered the sale of supercars for archer capital and the Thames, and explains what Jamie is like in the boardroom. It's interesting. It's still hard when you look at across the boardroom table at jammy to Nazi Jamie, the racing car driver, because I've known him since 2004, as you said. And he has an uncanny talent behind the wheel and. From the absolute top draw there. And so when you look and now part of his demeanor to them, look at them in a business setting. I guess it takes a little bit of adjusting to. But the one observation I have of Jamie is a racing car driver holds across to Jamie as a businessman. And that is that nothing happens by chance. So he works incredibly hard. He thinks researchers is bold and there's also bold enough to ask the question. And one of the things obviously a business all the time is people who believe that are at all and a lot of what they know, they know, because they made mistakes. And a lot of the positions they take, they could probably position themselves a little bit better just by asking for questions. And the one thing that the Jamie's not afraid to do is ask the question about something that he doesn't know. And as I said, nothing happens by accident with Jamie. He really thinks everything through. Just like he does with terrorizing. As a driver as a businessman he plans, thanks everything through has a lot of logic and rationale around the arguments that he presents and the positions that he takes. That is over minded enough to allow you to change his position if it's not right. So he's a very, very fun guy artist at the boardroom with because he spends a lot of time thinking and considering and also doesn't talk on conversations that he doesn't know a lot about. But you might get a phone call from him after that after that conversation is finished. So does this mean this? Or does that mean that? The monitor is working. Does uncle Graham think that Jamie will be any different as a team principal? I don't think he'll change much at the racetrack, like he's there to do a job. He said, I'll probably get a bit more time to talk to you great, you know? He said, usually he got out of the car that he was trying to debrief and then they all over things. And, you know, although we go to a lot of race meetings, it's amazing. The small amount of time we get to spend with him. I think, you know, we might have had dinner once or twice as it last ten or 15 years because it doesn't do that, you know? In debrief or in with the engineers. So hopefully that he's got a little bit more time to have a chat and spend a bit of time together. But, you know, I don't think Jamie's dedication will change very much. It'll just change into a different format than writing the cow with the helmet on to use it as you said, put a full cap on and watch what else everybody else is doing. Ten miles highlights one area he has been observing Jamie developing off the track. Yeah, and I think he does it much quicker in an ice cold than he does in the business, but I think that's because he's been doing the first one for longer than the second. I'm probably the reverse. He does make his decision and then stick to it. So he doesn't regret having made a decision if it's the wrong one, because he will have put the work in the back end decision. I think what you do see with Jamie is brave enough to make decisions. But in the business sitting at the moment, he's keen to learn. He's learning from anguru and Roland dying and so I think it's sometimes rather the amount of questions that Jamie will ask. But Jamie's asking him because he's learning. He's not asking them to challenge Roland on this decision or that. It worried and has it on that. And so I think he'll get to the position next year where he'll be able to make those decisions a lot quicker than he does today. And there will be because he's been a good period this year learning. And I think that, for example, he's taking care of us that he's just opened up and Queensland there and he did that in a far shorter time period than the first cow wash. And that's because he had gone through a bunch of processes before. So he knew what to expect how to expect it and he made those decisions a lot quicker. And I'm saying that I'm seeing that in teammate at he's able to make decisions infinitely quicker once he's already had the experience. So I think he's more cautious now than we'll see in 24 months. Mark dutton thinks that Jamie's knowledge and experience will be good for the team when he is Tapping on the shoulder during a race to suggest a strategy. Yeah, and he'll be excellent at that. Like he is very good at he'll be seeing it through a driver's eyes. You know, what's happening on the track and different things, which is which is very valuable. So no, he's his input. He purely replaced or did that. That would be a great role in the great input and a great asset to the team. Let alone if he's doing more and more than that. So I think he'll do a good job. Craig Lance says one of the big things that Jamie needs to decide is if he is going to co drive for the team in 2022. Another famous saying we have the easiest thing to change on a race car as the driver. Just hop on and put another one. So I don't think anything will change. I think in the privacy of the team, they will have some sort of a celebration or whatever, but, you know, nothing's going to change very much. You know, Chinese Hamilton only came out of the cabinet a couple of times a year instead of a weekend. So Jamie will still be at the team. He still going to be at the race track all the time. So just because there's another driver in the state, I don't think the team will change is because Jamie's not there. He will be there and they will continue to go forward. You know, I'm sure there will be a few drinks and a bit of a celebration at the end of the day, but I think that will be well away from the register. Matt dutton says the roles for 2022 have not yet been established. Well, at the moment, I think where everyone's all sitting sitting and biking and inviting for Jamie to make a decision whether he's going to I suppose one sense go cold Turkey and just get a step away from driving side of it and manage the team and manage the workshop or whether he does come back and personally, I can't say Jamie going.

"Moves very easily. And we have teased him for years here about when he lived in sanctuary cove, that not wanting to go out of sanctuary cove. So now he lives in Brisbane, so he's ventured north at three kilometers. But I've never thought Jamie would end up overseas. I just didn't think that that's what he ever really wanted to do. Roland Dane says that Jamie changed the way the team went racing, and as an engineering company, they were always looking to find the next edge over the competition. Dane said they were able to find those 1% differences for their drivers. In the drivers that the right lead up to events having the organization of the events themselves structured around what's best for the driver to give the best performance in the car what they have to do various times what they eat and then the environment of the car itself and for instance the Jamie Jamie couldn't operate. As well without say an efficient cool suit system as Craig could so, but when it was clear that we were going to get a better performance from Jamie if we came up with a better call suit design, we became the first people to develop the sort of school suit that you've seen in news over the last decade or so and supercars that dry ice total lost system. Which if you remember a decade or more ago, people just had in there with lumps of lumps of icing that sometimes worked sometimes didn't and et cetera. And so the whole category has cottoned on to the fact that you can actually improve the driver's environment a lot with great cool suit technology. So, yeah, those are areas where Jamie's had a major influence. So what are the traits of a greatest of all time? Mark dutton explains the ability to win starts with the competitiveness and the desire to win. He wants to win, he believes he can win. And he does it in a measured way. So it's very, very rare that Jamie gets a 50 50 passing move on. Yeah, he's very he's very, very accurate with what he does, whether it's setting up the car, whether it's the ergonomics of the car is very particular with as well. So I think that that helps massively. It means he's keeping that cool head. He's making good decisions in the car. He's putting the effort in. It's one of those things that he's one for the viewers at home to check out. Look at the drivers getting out of the car after the race. A really good one example of it is tanzan this year when Jamie and Shane came one to at the first weekend. And they drove away from the field. They almost lapped the whole field. And you could see how the drivers and even some other drivers come in Archie. Those boys are doing it easy. They can have so good. But if you look at up and down pit lane, when the drivers got out, which drivers were the most wrecked with a tired and it was Jamie and Shane and it's not because they're lacking fitness. Quite the opposite. They're super fit. And they every single lap was full focus and full attention and they weren't all quality laps. That's, yeah, that's risk reward is not needed. But they were at such a high level of concentration and performance. That's why they drove away from the field. And the other drivers who actually got out looking fresh were not putting in the effort, so efforting equals results out. And I'm not singling anyone out apart from our guys, but I think it's a really interesting thing to look when the drivers get out. And the ones who are fresh as a daisy. And going as fast, are they related? I think so. So, I mean, the fact that Jamie has always has always given a 100% in and out of the car. That's what makes him a champion. That's what champions do is you don't give up and it doesn't matter. Not giving up doesn't mean you're throwing haymakers to try and do a pass at the end of the race for first. That's not on. That's different. That's not giving up. Not giving up is putting in full concentration, maximum effort, the whole way through, even when you're hurting, even your tired and then improving next time. So you're less tired, less fatigued, so you can do an even better job. So for me, that's a thing that has said Jamie apart and Shane these days. You can see he does that amazingly well also. Roland Dane. When he had a driver like Craig who's to be honest, just ready to roll with whatever turns up on the day, if you tell him the cars left hand drive, he'll just say, no problem get in and drive that. Craig lounge. Any time that there's a small change whether even a button on the steering wheel, he'll have to sit there and analyze it for half a day to make sure he memorizes where it's at and what's going on. And for me, it's just been yeah, I just adapt to it. Like, I've always adapted to things throughout my career. So, yeah, Jamie and I definitely work as complete differences in that regard. And as I said, he reminds me a lot of the marks gave of what we will see most. So he made us as a business and as a team focused much more. On what was good for the driver and of course, because he produced results to back that up when we did the right thing in his eyes and change our focus then because he delivered the results and we all bought into it. If he hadn't, then we wouldn't have done. But yeah, my sort of my instincts as it were probably a little bit more along the lines of the old days of drivers were lightbulbs and plugged.

"A little bit of caution in his voice thinking, oh my God, okay, are we really going to do this is Jamie going to, you know, not I press the throttles half a percent too much and picture at the post sort of thing. So you can hear the trepidation Craig's voice. It was it was a great moment. That party, Becky, you don't know whether he's hitting you up or whether it was actually legit, but he was generally genuinely honest about what he wanted and who was happy to create a one to finish, which for me was one of the biggest memories that I'll take out of being his teammate. Mark dutton because we're in such a strong position at that stage, you can clearly just be enjoying it. And it's nothing's about to go wrong. Obviously it can always, but you're really enjoying the moment. So you had total faith that Jamie would do it obviously it was a spectacular result for the team, but yeah, Craig's voice at the time is something burned into my memory as one of those little special moments that maybe not everyone got to hear or see, but no, that was an amazing race. Yeah, we probably could have gone head to head in those closing laps and potentially both of us might not have finished. Roland Dane. It was very adult, particularly as he'd lost the win at Philip island a few weeks before with an issue when he and stevia and should have should have walked that race. So for Jamie to realize that the importance of this finish to the team was mature sensible to me did the right thing by everyone here, whether it was the team as a whole or whether it was the partners holding on Vodafone in particular on the day that and that producing producers imagery that stays stays around forever. Which helps underline a feat which he had only been done twice before and both times in a far less competitive environment. 45 plus people at each group. Two championships. This path is well. So everyone at the time, it's just a question. This big diet is fantastic. But did his engineer want him to go for broke and take the wind? Now we had our time to during the race to be the car in front and we weren't. So at that stage, now you're just happy that the moments happening. And you're just enjoying it and really trying to absorb it as much as you can without celebrating early yields. You never want to celebrate early. But occasionally you do try to enjoy the moment as it's happening, not just after it happens. So, no, I was quite happy with him coming in second there. Right before the start of the 2012 season, Jamie's father passed away. It was a significant loss to the still young man and just wakes later he had to get back out on the track. Roll and dine reflect on his clips or performance. His win in Adelaide in 2012 a few days after his father died. Was something that I was incredibly proud of him. I mean, yeah, the team helped him do it and everything, but Jamie drove the wheels off the car to on a different strategy to everyone else. Pretty much everyone else. And beat will Davison was half a lap to go. That was an extraordinary performance of his on that day, which I think the whole team was proud to be a part of. For him, I always do refer to his drive after his father passed as one of the most amazing ever. He pushed so hard. We weren't at the front at all. We took the ultimate strategy and the strategy we took in that race. It was a safety car came out and everyone had to ultra conserved to the end. But where you went for the option of that, I would flat out here. We're gonna let you do what you do best, which is go fast, lap after lap. So we came in, took the extra stop, but he had to he had to do effectively Coley lapse every single lap in Adelaide's conditions which as you know are always always difficult. It's always up there at the start of the year, et cetera. So that was that was one of the most special ones. Obviously, the circumstances around it. Yeah, the fact that what it just happened because it was so fresh that he could come out and do that and that we took the hard option, which was not the wind or been at one, but it was the night where we're going to you can win this if you do what you do best, just go ultra fast lap after that. Be consistent. Don't put a single foot wrong. Don't make a single mistake with everything that that's been going on lightly. And these conditions, that's always a stand up. Work out a story of what the ultimate race is. It was somewhat exactly what happened, you know, had to stop more than most and you have great car speed and get there right at the end. It was phenomenal, I hope everyone that was here enjoyed it. And as I say, it was probably one of my best performances. In 2014, there was a change at triple 8. Win cups engineer Mark dutton stepped up in the team manager role and young engineer David couchy moved up to rice engineer. It wasn't.

"Basically created when Jamie came along and we first tested him in December O 5, I think it was. We did a first test at queenston raceway. We could see straight away that Jamie actually had more potential more speed than we than we thought. Mark dutton. Particularly at the time, he's feedback. And I say at the time, which I'll get to. So he's feedback was amazing. And the tires we have the amount of tires everyone had. It was the same for everyone, was nowhere near as generous as these days. So you're constantly doing practice sessions on rubbish tires. So you had to be able to extrapolate what the car would be like when you got on good tires. And you'd be you'd be running your practice sessions and trying to make improvements with the car. And Jamie was amazing with these feedback and the amount of information he could absorb doing lapse. It was really spectacular. He would go out and say we'd do a three lap run and he'd come back in the practice session and dial in or whatever and he'd he'd talk you through every single corner in multiple stages of every single lap. But then he'd also be able to say what other cars around him were doing better or worse than him. So it was just phenomenal, the amount of information he was able to absorb and process. Not only of what he was doing in his cow was doing, but what others were doing while going full flat out. So that's that for me was one of the big things that set him apart was just that that information capacity that he had. Kevin fitzsimmons is the operations manager for Dunlop tires. He has observed drivers through 40 years of involvement in the sport. Spend a lot of time in the 90s lead IDs and sort of in the 90s and everything development with paid a baroque, and he was another one that could just get into their autopilot mode. I'm on the door and just just punch numbers there every single left on everything, but to be able to relay the feedback cleansing was also good at the time in recent years was absolutely exceptional to body the feedback that we needed to hear. And the pain personal, you know, I had all these and put the category head on and do it for the better of the category and everything will solve that and I'll be eternally grateful for everything he ever did for us through. First race mating for win cut and his new team was the clips all 500. Lounge went on Saturday, but it was wind cup who took the win on Sunday and his first clips or title. I remember coming out and winning the first round and, you know, basically, again, putting his name back in lights because he'd obviously had an opportunity with Gary Rogers. And that didn't go well for him. Roland Dane. Craig got tied up in a bit of a messy situation, I think from memory. Loss of front special or something. Jamie benefited from having the focus on him. So on the Sunday in particular where he could then show his speed and win the race. And that certainly set him up. Jamie spoke to inside supercars on Sunday Night after that race. Fantastic to get my first win with my first race with Triple H, fantastic achievement for the team with Craig winning yesterday and the self winning today of being involved with the development and the hard work they're putting over the last three months. And it's just great to go at hard work paid off. After the high of clips all, he had some challenges through the year. You know, it took him another year or so to get rid of some of the mistakes that he was making to understand how to race in the category better. And of course, he had a bit of a target on his back for some of the more senior drivers who saw this young upstart coming along and getting a plum seat. I think it wasn't until sometime in O 7 where he really showed to everyone else the potential we saw. Craig lounge. So for me, it was a fascinating time, but watching he was always very quick. He might some mistakes earlier in the early stages, driving mistakes, which is just a learning curve. But at the end of the day, the fundamentally had the speed, he adapted to basically my style of driving because that was the car was so more set up to the way that I'd liked it and wanted it. He adapted to that and got it sorted. Mark dutton. He got the first win, as you said, when he started, but then it was a bit dry for the rest of 2006 apart from bathurst, which is obviously a big one. To win bathers that year was something very special for me because of the passing of Peter Brock, but it really cemented Jamie's position within the team and I'm sure Rollins decision to hire him. Congratulations, Mike. Very much. Not a fantastic feeling. That was excellent all weekend. Craig is Craig lens. He's just the one of the best out there and 5 wins 5 round wins this year to fantastic effort. Congratulations to you've learned a lot from him. It's kind of as cool as ever. I'm just prepared for the Ford fence. Congratulations. The rise of Jamie win cup was not without setbacks, and the team suffered a major one at the start of 2007 as Roland dayne explains. It would have been earlier in O 7, but tragically, the number one on his car number one mechanic committed suicide on New Year's Day in O 7. And that had a huge negative impact on the team for a while there. In fact, we had some very good help in that period from Gary Coleman. And..

"He has this attitude of how to win and he wanted to win and he wanted to be perfect at what he did when Jamie came along and we first tested him. We could see straight away that Jamie actually had potential more speed than we than we thought. And Jamie was amazing with his feedback and the amount of information he could absorb doing laps. It was really spectacular. Without a drive for the 2006 season, Jamie wing cut flew from Victoria to Queensland to meet with triple-A management, Roland Dane talks about that fateful day. He did fly up short notice to talk to me after bathurst and 2005. And he had a sit down with me had met a couple of the key engineers as well. And yeah, basically made it clear that he'd do whatever's necessary to get to get his bum in the in the seat of one of our cars. He. His motivation was clearly there from the start. His hunger was there. And he was the only one of the three people that I was seriously considering at the time. Who didn't immediately ask about money? Triple H Lee driver was Craig lounge, the most popular driver in Sue because history, and the man that Rowland was building the team around. So when he first came to the team, he was enthusiastic. He was probably a little bit Shaw as well. But his enthusiastic and really keen to learn and develop as a driver, like we all were when we were first getting an opportunity with the major team like that. Rollins said that the team was looking for a number two driver for one important reason. You were looking for a number two driver could double up as you're allowed to in those days. For the enduro races and give us the best possible chance of winning winning the battles 1000. And we already had that stage a number one driver in Craig. So yes, we wanted somebody who had the potential to grow into a major force, but that particular point in time at the end of O 5 is about putting together the strongest possible team for bassist 1000. Craig lounge. I wasn't involved in the actual decision making of sawing Jamie, but I know at the time that role and did make that point that we're looking for a teammate that was in the same sort of heart stature as me and really that the focus for role and from my understanding was more so better. And that was obviously a race that has enticed role under come to Australia in the first place. So that was his goal was to put a super team together to get the result of bathurst and hopefully a championship. Roland explains how Jamie appeared on his radar. To be honest, there was nothing nothing at GRM that drew drew me to him. Partly because the most of the time he was at GRM was just before I was in Australia full time. But that was the way very aware of his formula Ford track record. And also at tasman, we'd watched him provide exemplary support to their number one driver at the time Jason Richards in the enduro races at sandown and bathurst. And at the time, my principal goal, then was to try and win our first bathurst. And we needed somebody who'd be great support for Craig lands. So, you know, those those were the key factors. Couch he saw that Jamie had some qualities that made it obvious to the team that he would succeed. Jaime's very easy to get along with. I mean, you know, we got along very well from the beginning. I actually knew him from when again he drove for tasman. Motor sport, which is sort of what lands Val smash sort of morph them to invent I already knew him before call it. I got to Triple H you know and look so yeah, we've always had a very close relationship as sort of friends more than more than sort of even work colleagues as such. So that made the sort of jump really easy, I guess from that point of view Mark dutton was already well established at triple 8. However, the new young gun caused a few changes in the engineering structure. It always race engineer the year before with Steve ellery. But because we had a young up and coming talent in Jaime, ludo ludo wanted to put the engineering race engineering hat back on. So I was demoted from race engineer to Dave engineer on that car. It was actually probably one of my nicest end of year performance reviews I've ever had. Because I was getting demoted there actually being nice to me and I even got a pay rise, which was, yeah, two tenths of not a lot. It's still not a lot, but pay rise is still a payroll. So yeah, finally enough it was my demotion, which was my most pleasant end of the year of you today. Craig lounge said Jamie had an approach to how he went racing, which he had seen in another successful champion. I look at Jamie and I see a lot of Mark scaping him in the sense of his mannerisms, the way that he operated in a sense of as I said, the data, all that side of it, he worked extremely hard behind the scenes with just all the small things, even to a point where still today at the beginning of every season, you know, our first test day, Jamie has to run in 5 sets of shoes. And he will never go to a racetrack with a brand new set of shoes. You'll always have to have run them, or use them. He's against he's done it, but he's against different color schemes of one off color schemes at rice weekend halfway through it because again for him. It's a mental thing in the sense of or psychological thing to change. David couchy do you work very hard, you know, behind the scenes on himself. You know, I mean, you know, not just his fitness, but he's preparation and approach to the race weekend. You know, and each driver, each driver does approach that that differently. But yeah, I just remember always remember a real real attention to detail and just not leaving any stone unturned, basically. Mark dutton was never afraid to ask a question even if it might come across as silly or obvious. So which is great, yeah. It's things that you encourage your kids to do you encourage everyone to do. But he would do it and he continues to ask those questions. So that, for me, that willingness and want to learn and improve that that was the standout from day dot. Craig lounge. He really literally understood took on board the settings of the car, the way that the team operated the philosophy of what the team had. Had.

So hopefully that he's got a little bit more time to have a chat and spend a bit of time together at, you know, I don't think Jamie's dedication will change very much. So just because there's another driver and they say, I don't think the team will change is because Jamie's not there. He will be there and they will continue to go forward. You know, I'm sure there'll be a few drinks and a bit of a celebration at the end of the day, but I think that will be well away from the restaurant. Craig lounge is one of the big things that Jamie needs to side is if he is going to co drive for the team in 2022. Well, at the moment, I think we're everyone's all sitting and sitting and biking and waiting for Jamie to make a decision whether he's going to suppose one sense go cold Turkey and just get a step away from driving side of it and manage the team and manage the workshop or whether he does come back and personally, I can't say Jamie going cold Turkey, I think there's no doubt again being true with it. He'll have that bug, especially when cars were all out for the first time next year at and I remember Mark Skype saying the same to me, you'll know if you've made the right choice when you first stand on the pit line and you watching the cars all falling out of pit lane when you're not in one. And the emotions of that internally, you feel strong enough that you should be a one or whether you're comfortable with the decision you have made. But I think for me, I was comfortable in the decision. But at the same token, as the year rolls on, you do a couple of test days and you get back in the driver's seat. You sort of become more eager to continue as a race driver. So I think Jamie will probably contest next year as a co driver. That's my thinking and my take of it. Where that puts me, I'm not sure but we'll have to wait and see. Mark dutton his roles for 2022 have not been established. We haven't had the we haven't had time and it's for next year. But a good sit down to really plan out, yeah, for the roles and responsibilities of everyone. What specific role Jamie will be doing in the garage. It'll be interesting. I think he'll do a good job no matter which way we skim the cat of who's doing exactly what yeah, I've said to him half joking. Are you sure you don't just want to do my job? Am I staying at home now? Are you are you going to are you going to be between the two race engineers? Yeah, you're doing that. So and that controller or whatever. So I've posed the questions to Jamie. I imagine he'd want to get in and do all those things. But yeah, I don't know. We'll have to see. Yeah, see if I still have the job. Catchy jokes, and he's moving to grove racing because of the change. Yeah, I wanted to get away before he became my boss. Yeah, I didn't want him to have to shout at me. Basically. The immediate challenge is this weekend. Craig lands who will share the cow with bathers, hopes to send him out on a high, similar.

"Supercars. On this show, we consider our Jamie wind cups focus on his performance was misinterpreted by many outside the inner segment of supercars. That May in the sense of the fans look, I know that they're loyal. They're very proud and they're very aligned with personality. He didn't get tired to be famous, you encouraged him to drive race cars. We hear from some of his closest peers and partners rolling down Craig lowndes, Mark dutton, and David couchy. You know, he does all these talking on the race circuit. One of the disappointing aspects of win cap's career is instead of celebrating success. Some motor sports spectators became possible towards it. Famously booing the champion R three one major events. Roland Dane provided his perspective on that part of Jamie's career and the Australian way. Whenever I'm shooting the breeze with my fear group and my Friends, et cetera in Europe and they inevitably say, or what are the best bets and worst things about being in Australia compared with being in the UK for instance. And there's clearly the weather and friendliness of most people and that sort of attitude to life in Australia which can be so positive. And then you got the negatives and I always say, well, number one is speed limits. Number two is bureaucracy and nanny state approach. And number three is tall poppy syndrome. And Jamie has suffered from a lot of ignorant people giving him a hard time over many years because of his success. And unfortunately, I see that reflected many times in Australian sport the good thing is that normally the passage of time. Deals with that. And I think that Jamie will be respected as he deserves by almost everyone. In the fullness of time. But in the short term, the there are people who resent his success for whatever reason. Which is a shame, but it's amplified these days by social media. In a way, which I think a lot of us have come to realize that undermines the meaning of social media comes unsocial media and quite repulsive at times. So Jamie's been exposed to that in a way, which some of his predecessors haven't been. But in the fullness of time, the respect will be there from I would suggest pretty much everyone who's ever followed the sport, let alone been involved in it. And deservingly so. Craig lounge remember these situations clearly. Oh, yeah, absolutely. And sometimes not only Jamie, there was other drivers that got that treatment. And it saddened me in a sense of the fans, look, I know that they're loyal, they're very proud and they're very aligned with personalities. But at the same time, it's motor racing. We've got to celebrate whether it's afford or a Holden or whether it's a James Courtney or a Jamie win cup. So for me, that was always a little bit of a sad moment because of people just emotions probably take over. And I felt for Jackie because he put his heart and soul into what he had done and winning races is something that we'd all strive for. I think that because of his personality, again, the marks gave, I'd even say the Marcus Ambrose. They sort of weren't really fan favorites because of just the way they all their attitude and the way they approach the race weekends. And it's a shine because they fans of us not seeing the results of what this person, Jamie had created or achieved that they just sort of sing in here's a personality and really, as you said, it didn't really matter the fans, where you finish, it was just the personalities that they wanted to connect with. Fans said being the most popular driver of the modern era made the relationship with the fans more difficult. It was hard for Jamie because I suppose about popularity, but at the same token, it's just trying to think of analogy. Probably center and Prost in the same time a Formula One, like when you've got in a sense to heavy weights, but then we've got two different personalities. It always is a different. So for Jimmy, although he's results with always stand up and be shown in history of how many championships he's won and races and everything else that, yeah, he wasn't one of the popular drivers and public eye. But that's just, you know, again, that's just unfortunately the way that he's personality is. David couch, he noted that the negative opinions and conduct offense never impacted on Jamie's behavior around the team in all the time I've known Jamie. I've never seen any big, you know flashy sort of statements or articles or anything like that. And, you know, he absolutely lets does all he's talking on the race circuit. And I think that's a really, that's something that I'm, you know, really sort of love about his personality. I think talks talks cheap. In any sport and certainly in motor sport and what actually matters is what you do on track and the results get. And that's probably what, you know, I mean, there's no question. He's the greatest. And he's managed to consistently perform an unbelievably high level for a very long period of time. And that's what is very, very hard to do, you know? It's hard enough to win one championship. You know, very few can back up and win two. You know, to win to win 7 is almost unbelievable, but the other thing I think that you can't brush over is the fact that if he hasn't won the championship, he's pretty much been second. You know, every other year. So, you know, he just really hasn't had hasn't had a bad year. And I think that's why he's, you know, without question, one of the greatest of all time. Two miles employed Jamie at tasman motor sport, then later became co owner Triple H, he said the public didn't understand Jamie's focus. He's a very genuine character. He didn't go car racing to be famous he went carras in the broad race cars and he's still the same and he realizes that obligation that you have as a sports startup to be accessible to the public, et cetera. But he goes writing the rice casm. And so he sort of doesn't retain to be anything else. And I think that's part of where the tractors come from, but you mentioned. That is a very, very, very genuine person. Scott Geller provided his observations on how he.

"Welcome to India, because Chinese we're talking Frank revell, and we're talking outside catchy. David catchy was catchy as he's known around. I think it's a man who I've known since he arrived and I want to talk a little bit David all the catches what you'll probably eat more used to is the way you got there and how you got there. What I know of your story is joining flight. Tell us about that place. Yes, it all started for me in 2007 on November 2007. Yeah, I found out through I've done some work experience with lanes Val smash team, but that was based in sitting at the time. Wally story with the engineer there and then also sort of became friends with Wally's son, rob story and did I did some racing with them and then also another friend who was their Garrett Gary Bailey. And Gary eventually worked for triple-A race engineering. And then, yeah, so Gary sort of let me know that there was a design engineer job going at the time and I had Wally on Maya on my resume, which ludo read and I think in the end ludo called up Wally and said what do you think of this kid and probably said give him a go and I was lucky enough to get the job. So that's how it all started to me. And what a history scene he came in contact very early on in your family with the Jamie winker, but so Mark dutton was who you reported to them with your design engineering ideas and ludo? Yeah, well, again, ludo was technical director at the time, so yeah, you know, daddy was Jamie's race engineer. Jeremy was Craig rice engineer. I will Campbell and then Jeremy. And then and while he was sort of, well, sorry ludo was technical director, so sort of, you know, steering the engineering ship. So yeah, my direct boss was ludo at time. Okay, now early on, you then moved into the data engineering role on Jamie's car. Yeah, that's correct. So by 2008, I ended up with a racetrack role. And yeah, we're doing data engineer for Jeremy. And at that time, we did a couple of years where it was sort of both cars. We sort of shared the data engineering role across both cars. So yeah, it was, you know, it was a lot to learn very, very quickly. We should take note of a couple of things. First off, that your success as a race engineer and a championship winning right then, you need as a result is in you getting a job offer, which congratulations from inside too because we're so pleased for you, but it's no surprise that someone knows the nature of Jamie's championship winning engineer should be 800 and you're off to a grow racing. The thing that you're not going to see of course is the transition from Jaime from being a driver to being the cheap being CEO. That's going to be amazing. What do you think the team's going to be like? It's absolutely very exciting time at triple-A. You know, you know, Roland's done an amazing job with the team for a long time and you know, it's probably about time that he goes off and does something different and enjoys enjoy some other things in life. I'm sure he'll be always be very close to Triple H and supercars in one way or another. But no, look, the team has a very bright future. The talent in that team, you know, he's absolutely incredible. They're all they're all players. From the engineering, the drivers, the commercial team, you know, there's just top quality people all through that team and they'll be very, very successful for a long time into the future. And with Jamie's Jamie's leadership, you know, it's going to bring a fresh sort of call it energy and use to the team, which I think is only going to be a positive for the organization. And, you know, I'm call it disappointed and sad that I won't be there to experience that because I think he's going to be a great leader. You know, but, you know, I made the decision to sort of forge forge my own path in a different way. And, you know, in a lot of ways, I look forward to actually working alongside Jamie in a very similar role for another team, but I call it hopefully together. We can work together to, you know, make respective teams great, but also continue to improve the sport and make sure that the supercar sport is great for many, many years to come. Thank you so much for joining us. We certainly look forward to watching the results over the coming weeks. I know back to this, I look forward to catching up. It's quite interesting because when you actually see in the cockpit is not a huge amount that is different, you know, CBS's shin and pedals June eleven exactly the sign. The dash is different. But you don't have the bulge of the day. So when you're driving the car out there, there's not a huge amount of difference visually. But just the balance of the car, you know, is a little bit different. But to be honest, the white college rolled out today did a very good level. Yeah. We we can find June it, but also had some tombs taken away from us now with the twin spring and the rea- site in many many years since we've on linear spring in the reassign who sort of a lot of changes soda. Think exactly. So I don't think you can contribute the whole sensation of the car just purely on the body shite, but it has given the car a little bit of a different balance. And that's just you know, well, the engineers go to change. But so far the KYW's. We haven't changed to sit up yet. So we'll just been betting breaks and just getting a feel so give this is strike. We got into. The hardest every space. The balance, obviously, he's very critical. So attractive. Feels good. Yeah. Very much like that to one years probably the point of the fossils corners. You're gonna Encana around the country, and it's very very north and stable, but one thing that's really impressed me is if you're gonna have Bryson's in the car split, his all Barnett's, whatever more be you're gonna have your and the things souls a rocket at heart spades. So that's a big take for everybody to sell it to work in the in the background. Have you had any challenge to Ruggerio because I saw a couple of other Commodores at the just there now slotting around just as much as I was did you give me a big how the air on you? Or no really get close enough to them and see more role is into go to close to other causing stay, but. Yeah, bit hard for me to sort of judge that so. Okay. So you been together for four years is that the more forty with the team cutting all that first year. Yeah. Obviously you very comfortable with him. I think I think I'm comfortable with him on. And thankfully, he's comfortable with me. So ultimately, he's the one that, you know, takes off the co-driver at the end of the day. So, you know, he's comfortable enough to hand the car over to me, and these big rices, and you know, this year in particular, the one thousand is that grand Farnell, and it's it's a pretty big deal to just jump in as the first insurance rice. So that's going to be quite interesting, but I'm going to do as much rice during the years again. And so Trump pay myself as much as I can. It's only in the teens.

"What's enjoy next for Jalen a-rod. So maybe you too. We'll have children. Plus the hero from the waffle house shooting Ellen today at three on NBC four, then news for breaking down every twist of the DC mentioned murderers. You give me DNA. You can take that to the back and uncovering evidence that could change everything. So you think there might be someone else a news force special event tonight. It's six thirty. Thing we're in the business again fast, and so the teams and the push it to the absolute limits and sometimes ever and that that's what happens. Just just merged into the into the family thing, the hold alone. I'll even Barrett for that, right to Greece dot intense mania. Some like that. That just is an acceptable from the rice treks across the strategy at he is inside super supercars. Welcome to this week. It's tiny. Talk on regularises spec. Get with Craig. Reveal an interesting weekend, Greg, quite we can with father day and also hype. Everyone enjoyed they Father's Day a weekend. If it were applicable to them modest sport wise because we had India in the states with Scott Dixon closing Nava title that we had Daniel Ricardo and forty game retiring morass. There was some domestic racing young on here, which happened Winton with production cars, good to see grant Denia and Tony del Buto, showing speed and winning. But we're getting ready county up to San in two weeks time and it certainly looks like it'll be interesting rice zig, be showing plenty of form and obviously not quite the rookie card. Anyone thought it was going to be, and it's. Going to be a fascinating weekend to see if those drag strips at the grandstand and the fireside do provide a noticeable assistance to any of the guys out there. And of course, it's also Pat of this. Farewell. The falcon tour that everyone's on. And in this case it'll be falcon Zine old. Falcon liveries baps a few Mustang deliveries, inevitably falcons in falcon liveries is I think, how they wanna play it. Indeed. Yeah, there's big things plan, I think for for Baptist, but more than likely, they'll be quite a few on it exhibition at Santana's. Well. With the b. Obviously, Thailand being was the longest trek, the new guys, they know load grand prix is probably about the same length as in oval, trickling Zid be certainly had full wall. The falcons did a bit of winning. And of course it was when walking shown with Scott by getting his face when the growing private speaking of the grand prix, the Deitz have come out for this year of rather twenty nine eight and they've moved it. So it's a week earlier than this year says the fourteenth seventeenth March, and it's as slightly as a week or so closer to the Adelaide five hundred which is only last weekend in February, going into the early days of March. So. Compression compressing Matama bits the quays teams. Again, we'll have raisins complain as I'm sure others around the country will as well. I think it's gone from mar rough meth seventeen days. Eleven days or something is the expected change in the in the calendar. Formula one have moved their dight. If as long as they, I feel Cape it too. I think it was a bar Randall. There was only one game plight or something like that. If that is the weekend, the grown praise on, then I think that would be great because she wanted on Ning round via fill season because you back know twenty pages in to the daily newspaper before you get your first photo story of particularly support races as the super Khazar on that stage space in the heroes on it's always a beta problem Melvin, no nineties. Thinking Suva Qasr other than sad news for Jamie, Jamie win Cup was going to be my his US racing debut at Laguna Seca Mercedes with Kenny Abon who, unfortunately, he's had to pull out because of some homeless that Kenny has. So Jamie, we'll have to postpone to another dight, but
