"Yeah clark said something early on in this process about You know there hasn't been a two thousand nineteen there hasn't been in two thousand and twenty times very different Than they've been in the past and we're we're all in a different space One of the things that really resonated with me and with others in our organization about the platforms we picked and specifically the voting platform was in this day and age with all the discord to find a platform that everyone in our organization can get the nonpartisan but is about getting people to express and use their voice to make their choice. And patrick really well the other day. I'll i'll promoting is go get registered and use your voice. Make your decisions for you personally. Use your voice And i've said this before we're an organization family and thinking about family is we and we're example this. We got representatives on all ending to the spectrum from a political standpoint from all kinds of different standpoint. so i'm trying to find some platform that we could all get behind Is not always easy. And this one really resonated with a lot of our players a lot of organization. I would tell you that it's your energy point You know the energy around this project in our building has been really charts and again in the space where he and right now when you got two hundred plus employees and many of them in that younger generation. They are looking for ways to be helpful. They're looking ways to participate and be active. And in that demographic we've got a wide spectrum of us this is a great place where they can come together at a time when it's really hard for us physically now to come together It's been there's been a lot of energy in the building and there's a lot of real joy Today in staff that have been working here since about three thirty this morning. "Then But then once we got into our normal game day schedule. It's going to be tough for them to get here until afternoon. It's next to matt derek. Good man hey mark. Thanks for your time. You talked a little bit about the future. But you don't specifically how do you hope. And envision this going forward is is arrowhead has voting place you think possible likely for all elections or just certain elections And you know it could expand further. I mean would you like to see all jackson. County residents being able to go to narrow head. Yeah we'll work with the election board On exactly how we can expand and what makes the most sense in terms of how many elections we actually were having that conversation earlier today. in between Voting activities. And if like. I said if if you actually come here and see what we're doing and how we're doing it. There's a lot of interest in utilizing this a lot more We'll come down the schedules. They look down to You know make sure that we have availability here on those days I think as you know. We've we've shut the offices today so all that conversation i was having with myself about Being game day mode actually not engage them today because we gave the get a day off. the The reality is we. We've already had discussions. We'll continue discussions about using it again. The commitment that we made the purchase machines is something we want to utilize so As much as these machines can be utilized. We want to do that. It's like we got former hands up. We'll go right down the line. Starting with darren go at their mark. I'm gonna take of journalists privilege on this. I want to thank you first of all for what you all did. No back in august when we spoke to press you on it and you didn't wanna reveal the plans about using era at the time but i. I'm thankful that you did and glad that you did But i have two questions. I'm asking i one i but the last time we spoke i asked you about the fact that hi v. didn't have stores in the third and fifth district. I would like to know where you are at with those conversations harvey regarding the food desert noon comes conversation. What does the organization willing to do to see any partnership where this heavy price chopper. Other businesses reflect. Not only the bottom line that she's but the fans and community calls home or should it be an organized boycott of hy-vee until they do and then i have another question for you or and you're in a lot of different directions there so let me first say. Thank you for Asking the question originally and getting that out there As i said at that time we felt competent tonight. We're going to have arizona's those location but given all the obstacles that we knew of and then if you add all the other obstacles they said we encountered as we go. I'm just really really happy. They were here today. in terms of the food desert and the challenges that Really are east of truth and and locations that we've done a lot of research on One of our focuses has an organization. Those three pillars is those local minority businesses so specifically to grocery and food desert We are in discussions right now. Two different organizations that we're gonna make some donations to talk our players about matching donations and doing things with their social platforms. Create awareness of some of these minority owned businesses and in some are food. Restaurant related That are in that corridor that you know have the challenges of competing in a business to begin with and then the challenge of kobe and what that does to so many businesses. So that's a real focus of those three pillars that i talked about And specifically the. Hi i'm just gonna reiterate what i said. The last time we had this discussion. Which is i know. Heavy and others have had a lot of discussions about making efforts in in the food. Desert in that corridor I was conversation earlier last week. Actually with john blue furred who a as a ton of work or truman former ceo. There was done a ton of work in that community. And i know there are a lot of conversations going on i am not privy to the decisions or plans hy-vee others having but I know in something as we are made aware of them. Were kinda find ways to support and and then last week. I asked patrick. What's next following the election to what you said and i quote we actually be. We are actually going to be able to have to me with mark donovan here either this week or next week to continue to strive to get more black owned businesses the support they need. I think what does meeting that we're going to have mark. He's already had a lot of great ideas that he's learned from people in the community. That are out there. I had to making change happen now. You mentioned earlier about support minority on business. Sometimes the political ear. My means you know white women because that's considered a minority. So what does this support. Look like have you made a. Will you be making spending commitment or policy to less in locally. Black owned businesses to make sure that patrick's words have meaning and action behind them. Yeah i think you make a very good point. And that's something we've learned as we've gone through this process that There are a lot of different organizations trying to support minority businesses. And then you get into civics and how you define minority and then what business are are getting funded actually been educated in terms of their certain businesses in the minority Businessworld that have the ability to get banked by normal banks. There are a lot of businesses. They don't and we're trying to thread that needle. We're trying to make sure that we're doing things to support across a pretty broad base of the have been made well aware of some of the Issues that have been raised in the community in the urban community about support organizations and where they're putting their money and we've been educated by the experts that people in the community so what patrick was The conversations that myself and sharp and others have had With leaders in this in this community who are in the space so We take it very seriously. We take responsibility to try to do it. The right way We are close to Finalizing two different donations to two different organizations that are in the community and those specifically we had that conversation talked about signed ways that we can even target. Our donations are support to true Local minority black owned businesses And that came up with our players. And that's something that they brought to us and said that's an important distinction and that's a little continue to focus to do three more. We'll go todd steven than sam. The closedown mark. You've been in this league for a long time. And i know there's been a few years ago. I guess i don't want where's your mouth about being proud or anything but how much i guess enthusiasm you see on the organization side across league not just in kansas city on actually working with players and coming together and doing some of these these things instead of being kind of adversarial like it seemed like it was a few years ago..

"And the feedback that you got from the crowd for arrowhead being a polling station and then lastly unnoticed coach. Andy reid was there at at six thirty vote. How many other people from the organization used arrowhead is voting place. So let me start with party. Your question So hundred you know. I haven't been a lot of polling stations as they open the gates but I don't think there very very many around the city around the country where people were tutoring as they walked in the door I think has something to do with being at the stadium It was a pretty energetic atmosphere out. There they were a lot of people in line. They they poured in One of the big benefits we have. Here's the space the fact that we can do most of our lines indoors And there's a lot of space obviously socially distance and then we With all the new machines we have over forty machines. That's what i've been doing. All morning is getting people from registration to the voting machines. And there's just plenty to to utilize so In terms of and others who voted here So i've been the one one of the team of people who've been taking registration devoting. So i've actually been able to interact with a lot of our employees and thanked him for voting we every level of the of the organization here One of them in particular was a security guard. Who literally just got off work for working the nightshift rolled-over got the vote. And you gotta here so really efficient and really working better than expected next to adam. Teicher go he mortar. Mark had a ticket question for you today on. Can you just give us a sense of how through four home. Games that syrian going from the team perspective any regrets y twenty two percent is the optima seems to be the sweet spot there and brattle one quick follow up to So the ticket process has been Very interesting for us. Because it's such unchartered territory. We initially proposed Close to thirty one percent capacity deduct archer again. Another person that we've really spent a lot of time with and again an educated Just how the medical side looks at this. And how do we make it as safe as possible. So through those discussions got down and twenty two I don't think there's a real magic number in twenty two to thirty one. It's really about being socially distance possible in the in the stands big big advantage. And we have a couple of actually. The first is obviously an outdoor stadium. which plays into it and then being able to test all of our suite holders was a big plus so that helped us with capacity in terms of the process there are a lot of learning's really proud of the team. We were obviously the first in the league to do this. Because of the first game but As i've said before we we knew we were on a stage that was being closely monitored by not only our league but other leagues on how this was going to work and to be able to do successfully as we've done so far Again to operate expertise in new space for us all That's been really the process one learning that we took away from it which I would tell you that we didn't really see this when we put the projections out. But it's been pretty clear to us is the pod. Sizes of each individual group has ebbed and flowed. So you know there's a theory at least internally with us that that'll continue changes people get more comfortable or less comfortable with spikes that we don't have spikes that for the most far will be feedback with god is. I'm comfortable in my podcasts. At four to six whatever it is and what are we. Seeing trending is positive have gotten smaller from the beginning. They're starting to get bigger. We'll see what happens at thanksgiving if we have any spikes after that but we do hope that those pods will continue to get bigger. Because i don't actually give us the ability to get even closer to that twenty two percent when you're dealing with pods and trying to stick them into places this social distancing create capacity issues for us so that's probably the biggest learning took away from it The final point. I'll make to that adam. Is you know the the clients and the adherence by our fans has been really good We there's always gonna be exceptions and we've managed as well as they possibly could But the key is that we're trying to faith venue so people can have arrowhead experience and cheese. Football live and in person and a lot of that is on her fans and we said from the beginning plan is only good is compliance. And they've done a really good job with and my next question is assuming there's going to be one or more playoff games. Played at arrowhead this year. Can you say definitively. Yet the tickets will be sold for those games. Whatever the capacity might be. I think in two thousand and twenty. It's hard to say anything. Definitively we fully plan and expect to be at least twenty two percent capacity. And we're working through a lot of different scenarios right now to make sure that if the opportunity presents itself were able to capitalize on that and get even more arcane in ireland. It's going to. Matt mcmullen go. Hey mark so there's been some planning in this like you like you've mentioned many people involved coordination trying to make today a reality but now that it's actually happening. You're seeing it in action. What's this mean to you. In the organization. The biggest thing that comes across the pride you know this is such a great example of an organization just working together to you. Guys have heard the story. We started with What our platform is gonna be to try to address covid and social justice it also converge same time on us and we would have players and said. Where do you guys want to focus our time where we want to focus our resources. What do we wanna make priority And we came out of that meeting with three priorities. The first voting The second being finding ways to support local minority businesses and the third being tried to do something more than we already do with city year and other programs in the education area just because of what covert is doing to those areas and that turned into Three tiers of focus specifically on voting. We started with a wariness. How do we make sure people are aware that their vote matters. And how do we get that message out there. And how do we support that with our platform both the chiefs platform and the players individual platforms that turn to once. You got to awareness and education how to register to vote so a ton of work done with rise devote a ton of work done with the league. I you saw the video of patrick and tyrant standing in front of our whole our whole team. All of our coaches during training camp and just sharing their personal experience and how important it was to them and really just sharing that they can be a part of this and everybody in the room should be a part of it and then you know all of those things were done early on and we can't sort of meeting and talking about things that we could do the idea of will could we vote at arrowhead came up in a meeting and that launched the ho- campaign to try to make it a reality. I will share with you that a lot of those meetings were great on paper. You walk out of there and makes perfect sense. Let's go to space. That's where the election board came in and a lot of different people helped us through that process. process culminated in not too long ago. The election boards saying that Although it's a great idea. They're just too many hurdles and we finally had to say what's it gonna take And that's really. What launched the idea of purchasing new machines and so we the cheese organization the hunt family and patch mahomes and his fifteen and the homeys Foundation came together and said that's what's gonna take we're committed to this point. Let's go so six figure investment by us that not only will legitimately impact the community today but will impact this community for years and years to come. Hopefully ten years to come with these machines. Continue to be used. And then i'll finally say for anybody who's been here today. Anybody comes out today. If you experience voting arrowhead. I think they're gonna want this to be only location for a long time to come next to nate. Taylor gordon eight. Mr good to see you actually answered One of my questions about the future. But i do have to for you i is do. Does the organization know how many people were to register through the program. And then i'll have to follow. So i'd answer that question. Couple one Late in the process. We really focused on awareness. Who could actually vote here. And we didn't want situations where people coming out here and not being able to vote and creating more problems. So that's when we got really aggressive on our website with information specifically if you gonna choose dot com slash vote right now. Just look.

"Oh so what are you looking for. When you're trying to determine what time would wind put in the second unit is certain score certain time in the game. What are you looking for. Kind of movement on both sides Just where we're at the score obviously starts that thought process but are you. Are you safe doing that. And still You know being able to get those guys that opportunity to play and you never know when they're going to be in the game plan In a normal situation so And then listen they. All bus are tail during the week. And it gives them an opportunity to to feel a part of it and So that all of that kind of goes into the thank you day. Yeah todd lebeau good coach. I wonder if you could speak to how kinda your defensive backfield has had that works through lots of different things if you're with suspensions and injuries and and all that and how how well they ended up playing for you. I missed a this cutting out for whatever reason. I don't know what's going on so just give it to me one more time. Your defensive backfield with all the different changes and know suspensions and injuries and how they'd kind of battled through all of that and continued to kind of get the job done for you they. They've done a nice job. Mirrored sam They've they've they've done is job of keeping everything to get there and and teaching all the guys and the veteran players I think they've done. They've done that well. And the guys all trust each other and they've they've worked a man a little bit like what we talk more about. When andy heck lose the offense other do the same thing in the secondary so when a guy has an op jump in as not foreign. That's a The player feels comfortable with it and most of all the guys around him feel comfortable with it and they're at that position. You've gotta have great communications so that becomes very important. That they're they've trusted each other. Though bryn mawr for the last one good really. Good morning andy. I know that you've talked about this several times throughout the course of the summer but now that we are twenty four hours removed away from the election. And you're starting to ensure see that kind of the setup going on and it's becoming a little more real. Just how proud are you of your guys that they really led. This charged it to get that type of change done. Yeah so. I think it's it's an eight. They've been able to do it right here at the stadium and the there are a lot of things that had to go right to get that done and A lot of it had to do first of all with the players having a plan. Second of all presenting it to management and ownership and then the those people in ownership and management support him so clark han mark donovan gone above and beyond to support the players. And that's what teams all about. So there's very respect there. And that's the part. I appreciate The most just how everybody pulled together join. Get this thing done..

Coordinators had a good game plan the then. They made a few adjustments during the game and that helps to so again without picking one person or one side by side overall. It was a good team team. Went under sam. Miller because andy. You guys had the fourth and one of the four yesterday. You have a good offense as they did lose some pieces from a year ago, But many people still expect them to not only win the big 12 to go to a college football playoff spot if you win the big 12, especially maybe only three power. Five conferences participating in the college football playoff this year have run Spencer Rattler, though you see Baker Mayfield. When a Heisman go first overall U C collar Murray when the high has been go first overall, and then Jalen hurts being the Heisman conversation. "Or if you want a free cheeseburger, you just point there shall not right and you might get one. But I mean, there's been such hard work that's gone into it. Clark Hunt Tae be a hunt to the hunt family have gone above and beyond. With this, uh, Mark Donovan organizing this whole thing for players in a crazy situation. Has done phenomenal. So and his crew they done great job. Can I tell you? I feel so good? For Andy Reid that that monkey is off of his back. Andy Reid has been one of the best coaches in the NFL for 20 years. People don't remember the type of dire Straits the Eagles were in when he took over. The Eagles were in a bad way back in the early to mid nineties until he took over. There was a lot of debacles. There were the Rich Kotite debacle. There was Ray Rhodes debacle. There was a lot of debacles in Philadelphia and Andy Reid took that situation, overtook Donovan McNabb and turn them into a contender every single year. Ah, parade of NFC championship games and a Super Bowl. I realize it and win the big one, and I realize that he moved on to Kansas City. Again could not win the big one. But he has been one of the foremost offensive minded football for 20 years and is almost always a double digit win guy. I mean, go through his records, He always wins 10 games or more. And for him not to have the championship ring was so unfortunate because it made people think that he wasn't a worthy of that, and now he's broken through that wall, and I can't wait to see what Andy Reid does. Now with that pressure off of him. He's got The best quarterback in the NFL. He's got unbelievable offensive weapons, and now he didn't have the pressure of Oh, God. What's it gonna take to win a championship? What's that internal pressure like? What's that external pressure like? What's it like for a franchise that hadn't won a championship in 50 years? I just love this. I can't wait to see what he does. I feel so good for him and Part of the reason why I love him is there's so little ego there like what he's asked. Well, what you gonna do with this with this big, fat, multi $1000 ring he's going to say Well, flash. Maybe I'll get a free cheeseburger every so often like that's where his scent of it is. That's where his North stories, which is exactly how I'd feel exactly. Which is it's a great championship ring. But really, I'm not into jewelry. And if it gets me a free beer cheeseburger, I'm good with that. That's exactly how I would feel. Don't wear wristwatches don't wear necklaces don't wear earrings. Hell, you could barely get me to wear my wedding ring. I just Want a free cheeseburgers. That's it, If that's what he gets up. I'm totally happy with that. 100% happy with that. That is so great. It is why we love Andy Reid and Morales, by the day read proves why he's an all time great. Four quotes like this, that is extremely humble. And I would also say Indy. I mean, you're a big boy like me, can you, Brad shout? It seems like every time we do a food store with Andy Reid, it always circles around cheeseburgers. So.

"So this isn't going to be easy. We all knew that coming into this. Obviously, we're hopeful that we can get fans later this year if we do have fans. It will be in a socially distance environment. So we've been working under CDC guidelines were calling pods where you know, we will be able to get a living an amount of fans if the governor and the county's given that go ahead so You know, we're hopeful on that, but same time our player's health and safety and the and the broader community sell to safety is first and foremost for Austin, so we'll see how the coming months unfolds. We're talking Al Guido 40 Niner president on the home, I guess line Murph in Max Show Al. When you look around the NFL, and you see that, you know, different different cities and different teams are kind of taking different approaches to this and like you said. Totally understandable. You take your cues from health officials in the governor of the state, But when you see, you know, just for example, like Kansas City or Miami, saying, no work. We're bringing fans in here. I'm just curious like how much more challenging Potentially doesn't make it for your organization, when not every team is adhering to the same kind of approach. And Polly. It's been fast. I talked to Mark Donovan, who's you know, I guess my appearance can city chief and I think right now there's 21 team that wants that will start with no fans. 16 that'll be quote unquote limited fans and five teams still haven't really announced. You know, I don't think every it's not really our decision. I mean, I think it's really our county's decisions and our governor's decision. And I think in those states, obviously, you know. They're in a different situation. Let's just say that and I don't think it'll be any more than frankly 20,000 fans at any given stadium due to the CDC guidelines, and so Look, you can spend a lot of time, you know, complain in or are you saying this is unfair? We're gonna be playing stadiums with fans and we're not I think John and Kyle and Jed and everybody like we've sort of taking the approach it like it is what it is. We can't make excuses. All we can do is the best we can keep our guys healthy State now healthy. And on the field and look, this is John. I talked about it all time like this might be one of the most challenging years. So anybody that says there's an Asterix around this season. I would say it's probably one of the hardest years to win this thing and so given everything that's going on, and so you know, I'm not There will be some crowd noise and stadiums. Obviously we'll decide what's going to happen in venue on audio. You guys have seen it in some of the other sports that have happened. So we will have some audio in venue but at the end of the day, you know it won't be the same. Right. I won't be 70,000 Faysal rock in that place on DH that you know that hurts. There's no question. Yeah. And just kind of you brushed up against it there, but just some thoughts of what it will look like the baseball went with cardboard cutouts N ba went with the Elektronik virtual screen. What are you guys planning? Murph, the 1st 8 10 rows will have some form of seat covers. A lot of that was based off proximity to players. So you've seen that in a lot of sports, obviously. We? We will make the decision here shortly. We're gonna be sending it out to dio some of the fan cut out. Look, it was a good way. I mean, talking that obviously the Giants in the age of they've seen them do it. It's really we're going. We're going to sell them to a season ticket holder. But all the proceeds are going to go to the foreigners Foundation to get back in the community, and it's almost like in the old days. You guys probably still have candlesticks defy no idea, right when you bought himself are fans of actually one of these cut outs and Look, if we're raising money for a good cause, we're gonna put him probably in the end zone. They won't get as much love as they do in baseball on TV, because you know how football shot it's pretty. You know, you're only gonna see pride of seat covers, but we're excited to put them out there and hopefully our season ticket holders. You know, we'll support and sending the photos from social media when they got him at their house washing on the couch. And then in terms of audio, like for example, our good friend Paul Tonelli, who's your guy? The Giants have run l there. Would you guys still have a guy's Tonelli saying? This is third down? It's a good question. Definitely no way. Need to. P ay. It feels like old Friday night lights to a degree, right where you see a guy from a long way away. The DEA D a will be there will still be able to do a lot of video board stuff for our players. Obviously we want to try to create some environment in the building, right? I think we all everybody's got their opinion on. You know whether the artificial noise is good, not good at home. You know what I would say is like I think the broadcasters are doing a really good job. On DH. Frankly, I think the competitive nature of the sport itself I was a little worried about that. But you know, these games have been they've been heated. They've been good and and so I feel good about that. We will have no what we will have like an unalterable noise in the building. Almost like you know, if you sleep with white noise, they're a fan like and then there's a discussion that's going to happen here in about nine minutes on Like how loud that noise Khun go, And so there's a discussion is is just kind of a murmur or does it crank up and down based off, obviously being in a home crowd? There's a lot of opinions on that. I mean, look, you could easily make the argument that at a home game, you know the decibel rating for a stadium and so could you. Pipe in noise up to that decibel rating. You know, I don't know the answer. But we're about to find all that out and kind of the next called 7 to 10 days before we kick off. I mean, here's the obvious joke, right? You just guys gotta call Seattle and say, Hey, you guys have been doing this for years. What's the secret? With without naming names. I can promise you there might have been a few of the team in the conference seriously. The reality is I mean, there's probably a number of stadiums where you know for us. I mean, it removed some of the home field advantage that they have right when you go on the road and play a lot. A lot of this has been talked about writing basketball mean how important was the feeding? You know which It's tough, right? You fight all year to get that feed for exactly the reason we're all talking about right now. How much of an advantage last year? You guys go back to it? I mean that stop in Seattle right on the one inch line. And what that meant, having known field throughout right and have it all South games that Levi's, and so that's why I like what I would tell our fans and and everybody is like we have a long way to go..

"We heard from Crystal Echo Hawk who is the founder and executive director, director of Alumni native and she was on Sunday morning on ESPN radio, and I think it's Really some fantastic insight that she gave as to why everything that we have seen over the last few weeks is all the change that we have started to see needs to involve Native Americans as well. Here she is. It's absolutely imperative and they talk about this review. But there needs to be transparency in this review. There absolutely needs to be a working group of Native American expert and the people that have been leading this movement for decades. You need to have a diverse coalition of native leaders. At the table with the team and the league because not only does there need to be a full rebrand right and do their needs a transparent process around all of this, But I believe they're truly needs to be an apology and a really genuine apology from the team in the league because they have silenced and disregarded native people for decades on this, and if they really want to do this, right if they really want to stand true to standing up against racism and doing what's right than everything from this review process on these to be be done in the right way, and that is Making sure that native people are at the table and it's a transparent process. So crystal Echo Hawk from Illuminated ve Really strong words and as we're talking about the red tails a few minutes ago, it also brings it to mind if you are going to try to do this right and as she talks Courtney about wanting tohave an apology. Frankly for ignoring it as long as they have with the league. Can you name it something that would then honor Native Americans and, frankly go the other direction with that and make it Native American specific, and the problem here is We're all trying to figure out we need to know what is offensive. And what isn't in a lot of ways are the Cleveland Indians offensive Are are the Atlanta Braves offensive? What? Is acceptable. What is honoring some native American people on what is not Yeah, And that's where you and I and other people who look like the two of us Caucasian Americans. We need to be listening and having an open dialogue in a conversation like the reason this is happening now is not new to when this discussion came up when they were taking away. Chief Ally Novak from the University of Illinois mean that was a lot of people are arguing that was a symbolic Symbolic nature to, you know, honor that tribe, but they ended up taking it away and replacing it with the block. I like we, We wonder. Okay, well was who was that offensive to and who do we need to be listening to? As we bring forth this conversation to the table on Dino that when you and I were kind of thinking about this and talking about all the teams that have some sort of Native American rhetoric or tradition, or Sim symbolic nature that they have during game dates, the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium, and they do the time. A Hawk Chop chant, which they know the president of the team. Mark Donovan told The Kansas City Star in an article that we read back from January that the arrow quote the Arrowhead Shop is part of our game to experience that is really important to our fans. Well, Maybe really important to your fans. But is it offensive to enough people where they would need to bring about change like bringing up the Florida State Seminoles? Apparently, there's some sort of agreement there that the seminal tribe you know, by and large is okay with that. So we have to ask. Arts asks, are ask ourselves and ask others around us. What is not right. And obviously because this name in Washington is associated with a racial slur for a group of people. That's the most obvious one. But are there other little things in our periphery that we're just not seeing or not aware of is being offensive or not as inclusive as they could be that maybe we could change, too, You know, include more people in a fan base, not make people feel alienated. I don't think it's that hard is funny. We sit here. And I listened myself speak about it, and I sound ignorant on it. But I have to admit I am. You know, I I am too a decree. Absolutely. And it's not hard to figure out as you just pointed out that Redskins is offensive, and it's literally a slur. But then Indians won't that's talking about Native American people, and it's not. It's not at least publicly indicated to be a slur in anyway, so it's difficult to try to figure out howto best. Go about this. And it's not just about and this is why I really can't stand. People have talked about, you know, making particular Minority groups happy It's not about that in and that's always what's troubled me the most one of the few things that's troubled me the most over the last few weeks. Is that It's really truly not a political discussion. It's one about right and wrong and is trying to just To show people that you are sensitive to their situation, but not even just sensitive understanding as well and learning and and wanting to be more educated on it as well. And I think that's that's where we sit here. I think we have all understood that we need to get more educated. When it comes to these discussions in our country right now, and that's where bringing back up Ron Rivera and where he did have a chance when, earlier in the week he was on a radio station in Chicago when he defended the name Redskins by saying, Well, it's always been the name when he was growing up, and that simply just is well. We're not people who just stay stagnant were not a great country because we believe in the status quo and that it should always be the same. We're evolving. We can be critical week unquestioned, push ourselves a challenge ourselves to be better, So I don't really like that response mean granted Now Rivera's trying to move this thing forward, so it's not a distraction during training camp, so players aren't asked about how they feel for playing with the team. That you know it's kind of in the spotlight of this, but you know, it's easy to do. It's easy to educate yourself about where we don't need to stay the same and need to constantly asks ourselves. Are we doing enough to adapt into move forward? So mean? Tony Dungy in an article that was written by the undefeated talked about, you know just how easy that is Not hard, Especially right now, when you're in the forefront of, you know, kind of this tipping point with It goes beyond racial lines that it's easy to do. Just find name that doesn't have a racial slur at find one that honors a group of people like the You know the red tails in Call it a day. I mean, it's not that difficult. I don't think that a name like that, you know, a name. It's as offensive and we've talked about for decades now needs to be a part of the conversation anymore. Let's quickly here a little bit more from Crystal Echo Hawk out why all Native American mascots need to end? We just think no native mascots period. I mean, I think there's a racialized imagery racialized mascot. No, Absolutely not. There's no way to honor native peoples with a native mascot. It just it can't be done. It cannot really be done in a good way these native mascots on all their different manifestations. It's not just relegated to the Washington but across the board really do cause psychological harm to Native American Children, and they do on the flip side. Really feel bias among non native people write. It has a way to dehumanize native people, and I just think the best thing to do is just get it and I'll eliminate all native mascot. Well, there you go. I mean, that's part of the discussion as well as we continue to learn about this and a cz. We said, wanting to try to honor the more but she doesn't really believe that there is a way we'll have more on this throughout the show. Also up next. Are the Astros getting up getting off easy. All teams report.

"Parties and the teams appear to be in a great spot with drew. Lock is things are getting going. Oh there she is. You see the excitement. I'm in the front office. It seems is up on stage right now. Voiced that Lombardi trophy as the speeches are going to begin. Let's take a listen in now. All Right Chaves Kingdom. How does it feel to be world champions? It's amazing to see all of Kansas City here this afternoon. That parade is something I will never forget to share. Enjoyed together was one of the highlights of my life at our first meeting as a team at training camp in Saint Joe. This year I talked to the team of our goals is started with going back to the AFC championship game and winning that trophy. That has my dad's name on it and we brought it home home after that. I told them that we were going to Miami and we were going to win another Lombardi trophy and bring it back to Kansas City and guess what chiefs kingdom we brought it home. Aw All year. Long people spoke of the chiefs as a team of destiny. Fifty Years After our first Super Bowl win the sixtieth fifth anniversary of the founding of the American football league the hundred season of the NFL. Well that may be true. What set this group apart is how they came together as a team? These men believed in each other they had each other's back most of all they played for each other. That's that's the definition of a championship team and in the end. They did prove that they were a team of destiny. I'm so glad that we have so many of our great from the Super Bowl. Fourteen here with us today. To celebrate fifty years ago go. After the chiefs defeated. The vikings thirteen of those players had to tin the AFL all-star game and did not have an opportunity to ride in the parade. Nine of those men are still with us and all of them were invited to ride in the pray today. We're excited to have them here with us and to celebrate this new group champions. Let's give the super bowl four team around of applause. None of this is possible with an outstanding team of people coming together for a common goal as as I said during our trophy presentation Sunday. Our family is blessed to work with such a great team of people led by Mark Donovan Brett Right. Vh and Andy Reid. A lot of people believe this journey started seven years ago with the hiring of Andy Reid but it really started before that when Mark Donovan joined our organization. Mark has been the steady force that has helped make the chiefs a model franchise in the National Football League. He was instrumental in bringing Andy Reid and intern Brett to Kansas City. And he has done a phenomenal job. Bob Preparing US for success. Let's give it up for more. Just as mark has done an outstanding job on the business side Brett Vegan help build a world championship team. He was the driving force in acquiring some of the big time leaders and playmakers on her Rosser is like Anthony Hitchens Damian Williams Frank Clark tyronn Aaron Matthew. Oh some kid from East Texas named Patrick Mahomes. Let's give it up for in. The last part of the leadership team is the guy we call big red over the last seven seasons seasons. Andy Reid has made the chiefs one of the best teams in football and I can't say enough about him both as a coach and more importantly only as a person he's a man of integrity a tremendous teacher a first ballot hall of fame coats and after Sunday. Big Red did is a world champion. Let's give it up for Andy Reid.

And that was just to come away with a victory of we needed to get done in Oakland. And what did you think of the way Spencer where Damian Williams performed against the raiders on Sunday? And the way you'll need them to perform going forward into the future. One thing. I thought about both those guys obviously being with Spencer. We knew Spence rise to the occasion. But just no one knows to with the attitude and the determine mindset that they both play with. I thought they did a heck of a job. Now, they're both tell you. Hey, you know, what we may have left a player to out there. One thing. I always look at is. What are those? What are those guys doing wanna ball? Is not in their hands about the two of them in a great job of picking up some blitzes. And then on top of that just a second effort runs in the second effort plays that they made, you know, proud of them and understanding, hey, you know, what this is their role next man up mentality. We keep it moving forward. What is the biggest area, Eric where you've been impressed with Patrick Mahomes? You know, what one thing I, and I've I've said this since day one first of all his his his ability to recall everything I mean, his vision, he sees it. He can tell you exactly what took place on whatever particular play you ask him about. He can tell you exactly what coverage if he made a mistake. He can tell you. Hey, I probably should've went here because the safety was there. And this guy was playing this type of ethnic his recall is unbelievable. But also to just his competitive spirit. I mean, he's a fun loving kid that loves the compete and on top of that shift. It's one of those deals that hey, you know, what if he can go play in the parking lot every day, and and for for I don't just to say, hey, for bragging rights, he would love to go out there and do that here. So somebody in your organization describe it to me this morning..
