"Ezekiel Elliott, Mark Cooper, Tyron Smith. It's a lot of money and this team is loaded. And everyone says, Hey, this. This is smart. This is what cousins did, and he got franchised twice got 84 guaranteed then with a new deal, then sign an extension. It's everyone's saying the writing's on the wall that he has done in Dallas and rebranded necessarily think that way. He still thinks there could be A long term deal done. I don't know. It seems like they're just not hot as hot on him. As you would think a new head coach would be in a situation like that, a team that has all the town the world to go to the playoffs. Ah, quarterback. That's pretty good. He's a franchise. Caliber quarterback, But how great is he mean? You've seen the splits last season one and six against playoff teams, seven to against non playoff teams. Deck eight touchdowns, eight interceptions in their games against playoff teams. We saw how was against non playoff teams. He mopped the floor, 22 touchdowns, three interceptions. So that tells me not an elite quarterback tax, not elite, but he is franchise. He is a good quarterback. I always hear this bet on yourself, but on yourself down yourself. Okay. I mean, it's a Dallas Cowboys. And we understand that that is NFL royalty. It is just different when you're on the Cowboys. It's like being on the Yankees. It's like being on the Lakers. The amount of money that you can make a Dallas cowboy. Terms of endorsements. You can make more local money than some people make national money. That's in addition, already the national things he could take advantage of. I mean, look at how many cowboys former players are now broadcasters in some of the biggest roles there are we've seen Witten. We've seen Aikman, Michael Irvin. The list goes on Emmitt Smith. When you're a Dallas cowboy, Tony Roma Tony Romo if he was on any other team Any other team if he was a Cleveland Brown is Tony Romo today? The lead after no experience with no experience doing it all. The lead network analyst for CBS. Is that happening if he's not a Dallas cowboy? There are certain Benefits to being on the Cowboys. Oh, by the way, they're loaded. It is a loaded team.

From Brady to Carr, ranking Bears' quarterback options in NFL free agency, draft

"Free agency. Starting soon as we mentioned earlier in the show March eighteenth four. Pm teams can actually out signings the signings and the wide receiver classes fascinating Jj. Because I think mostly because it sort of matches up with the draft class. This is a loaded wide receiver draft class studs and studs and studs. Nobody that's like necessary. I I like I tend to think see lamb and Jerry. Judy can be. I don't want to call them like Julio Jones. Aj Green types. Because that I think does a disservice to really any young player coming to the League to to compare them too borderline hall. Julio definitely the hall of fame. Aj Borderline Hall of fame to compare them to that type of player. But there's a great group of guys who look like they can be viable starters in the NFL out of the gate however they will have to compete with teams who resigned teams will have to decide. Do they want to ask somebody like that or do they want to size like? Aj Green should he make free agency? let's go through your top five wide receivers. Who's at number five number? Five number five. I have Randall COBB. Yes sorry I remember number five. I Have Randall. Cobb. Randall COBB. Of course coming off that season with the cowboys really difficult to see how they're going to be able to pay him And so as I was going through this and I thought to myself well thought. Where could he ended up? In fact I didn't think that's about self depot. Ask me where he could end up. I would have to tell you on your and some wanted to tell you that. I'm looking at an Indianapolis Colts a team. That was really struggling to throw the ball down the field last year. Now lot of that adds do of course which cover said. I understand that but I've never really been impressed with the wide receiving group that the colts have of course. They thought that they were going to have a few more options That did not work out with Devon punches. Who dealt with injury for most of the season. So Randall COBB. He's GONNA turn thirty before next season. He's at nine. Nfl seasons he had a eight hundred plus yards last year. I like him. What the colts and whoever their quarterback could be yes so it's interesting the question is would you rather have a guy like rental car bounced back nicely. Who Fits with the perfect slot style of of the modern? Nfl You've got three wide receiver sets etc etc. You can win outside and in some cases might be too old that now he's going to be thirty before the season starts or would you rather dabble in the shod. Perrin and sweepstakes and I might be inclined to agree with you. I like the PERSAD. Payment freaks me out like what? You're really like this Guy Ozzie. Newsome couldn't get this guy right and you're telling me that now like Jameis. Winston fixed him. I don't know if I'm buying it entirely woods. I would run away from shop Perriman. eighty might be fantastic human being but in terms of on the field play. I think that it was a flash in the pan how he sort of came on there in November and December for the bucks Certainly James with the five thousand passing yards sort of inflated his six hundred forty five receiving yards Paran- I just had issues for most of his career and I'm not willing to take a few weeks from last season. He's turned the corner. I kind of tend to agree with you. I wouldn't be opposed to like a one year not too pricey deal with precise payment but I would not want to make some big splash on that guy Given what's out there. It is interesting to this class offers. A lot of slot options like Geronimo. Alison is their Nelson Aguilar. Philip door set You can uh Devin funchess. Maybe didn't make the cut for. Jj surprise there. He's more of a tight end. Not a slot guy But then also demarcus Robinson who was very effective in Kansas City system. I think there's a lot of speed slack is out there so if I were if I were General Manager would probably at the top of the market. Do their own thing. Because I don't want to overpay for top of the market I would then sign a slack. If I got a young quarterback here I would sign a guy for agency at a lower cost and then go out and get by number one in theory in the in the draft. So that's probably why those guys didn't make the top five and I would tend to agree with you. Who's your number four on this list number four Robbie Anderson Levin love and coming off that season with the New York jets My best fit for him is the New York jets Because Gosh they really if they lose him. I don't know what they're gonNA do at the receiver position. They absolutely have to upgrade even by keeping him. They need to upgrade to upgrade that offensive line as well but seven hundred seventy nine receiving yards last season. He'll be twenty seven this upcoming year if enough teams and and if the jets WANNA mess around with this Joe. Douglas wants to mess around with us. He has been In conversations with with Robbie Anderson's representation if some teens get involved here and this is taken care of at the very started illegal tampering window or before. The price could go up on Robbie Anderson because of his age because of his speed because of what he did last season and then you can start approaching. Fourteen fifteen million dollars per year. I think the jets absolutely have to knock this out early and if they mess this up in some way if they decide not to bring him back. I'm looking at a place that he could go to looking at the Philadelphia Eagles who obviously could always use a upgrade. Their I the interesting seeing there may be some overlap there but the eagles need help it wide receiver. But I hope probably Anderson's faculty jets. I kinda liked that idea and I do think. There's a little bit of like say the Shaw Jackson to his game. That's an insult to the Sean Jackson as fast as to Sean Jackson Robbie interesting could be more of a position. He's he's more of a like he's a bigger body type of guy but who also possesses that deep speed. That might be complementary for the other pieces that eagles have so. I don't hate that idea. If I don't know how Roseman takes a deep dive a free. Hd but he's got cast a bird so maybe it happens a May I ask your number three is and then I started to say Emmanuel Sanders is your third wideout. He is my third wide out. And it's really just because age. He's GONNA turn thirty three. Where do I have him? The obviously he's not going to be in San Francisco. I initially till depot the Carolina Panthers and I said the Carolina Panthers because I'm not entirely sure the panthers are convinced. Honesty Smith is not convinced that they have a number one wide receiver they have DJ more. They have Curtis Sam. You hope that. Dj More is going to be that but what they seem to be lacking. Is that fantastic veteran presence in there and after I spent a lot of time will in the month of January with the San Francisco. Forty niners covering their postseason games. What I learned from a depot Samuel from kindred born was just how much manual sanders mentor. Those guys those young group of players coming up and how they were able to really improve their game early in their career after the trade for manual. Sanderson San Francisco did so I look at a team like the Carolina Panthers and I say. Oh those young guys could really benefit from a guy like Emmanuel Sanders however Emmanuel Sanders is kind of like Andrei Dala in in that like he elite should and probably only wants to play for a championship. Contender right. He's been with. The broncos just went to another super bowl and so we're talking about contenders we're talking about teams that need wide receivers. The New England Patriots is. They are trying to retain Tom Brady. That would be fantastic. Get sound radio. Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick said. Hey We got you Emmanuel Sanders and we got you this two or three year contract to finally finish your career in New England. What you say Tommy. Now that's great call. I think if you're the Patriots and this was the delicate line that they have to sort of walk with Tom Brady is. Can you go out into the mark like once we get to that noon at noon? It it's eleven fifty. Nine fifty nine on Monday can the Patriots manage in the span of about Let's see twelve thirty six hours. Thirty brought to us as a forty eight hours. Fifty two hours is probably right in fifty two hours. Can they manage to tamper their way into landing? Somebody like Mandal Sanders. Somebody like Hunter Henry and successfully like a- convinced Tom Brady to return if that's what they ultimately want their plan to be and if it is. I think that could be you know like. That's that's certainly a blueprint to having Tom. Brady back in New England. But I think you're going to have to get guys. Just beef up the receiving core for him if you want him to come back in my opinion all right the last two guys in this list that they're going to be the same for everybody. You could flip them if you want to Depending on your opinion of home and away splits for one guy in age for the other guy number two guy. Aj greed number. One Guy. Maury Cooper I beast I mean these are the first of all. There's a chance either. Guide makes it the free agency or Cooper could get transitioned franchise tag the transition tag depending on the CBA depending on what happens attack. Prescott's contract AJ Green. It does sound like the bengals franchise tag him but he throws a fit and says he's going to refuse to play for him then. Maybe that doesn't happen. What led you to stack these guys in this particular way. Jj Yes so I have AJ green at number two. Only because of agent injury concerns that He has missed something. Like twenty four the past twenty five games that the bengals have played due to injury So that is my issue with him. Amari Cooper last. We saw him was not getting the ball thrown as much his way as should have certainly against the Philadelphia Eagles. I felt that he still has it. Obviously he's young much younger than Aj. Green who I believe is turning thirty two this year. Amari Cooper is currently twenty five. He will be twenty six before the start of the season so If a Jake Reed were healthy he would be my number one with a bullet. No doubt about it on about his health and then So in terms of fits right We believe that. Aj agrees with the bengals eight. We'll extend the franchise tag if they do not then. I think that we can reignite the does job want to go to Cincinnati rumors and so just for the sake of argument. I through the raiders in there as a landing spot for A. J. Green. But of course I'm not putting too much effort into A. J. Green out to one of the thirty one other teams. He's going to Cincinnati. As far as Mark Cooper. I had no idea how the San Francisco Forty niners would do it in terms of contract and money but I have cooper going to the forty niners if he does not end up with the cowboys but again. They're the cowboys to do. Everything they can. To Keep Amari Cooper traded a first round pick for. It made a lot of sense. Not Not immediately when they made the trade form right.

Should the Raiders focus on a defensive rebuild?

"The raiders have three first round picks. I mean to me, I know gruden's offensive guy, but don't they have to use most of those two out of the three at least on defense. Well, their offense of weapons are anemic. But their defense is terrible. But they do have a franchise quarterback. At least that's what they've been saying. If you're going to stick with their car in you're already paying them. I definitely think you have to use the fourth pick on a defensive player, and this is may said the other day and all his years of doing this. This is one of the deeper defensive drafts. And we all know if you watch college football players everywhere. But there are the twenties is going to be a sweet spot for offense players. Some of these tight ends a lot of these wide receivers. The raiders Mark Cooper. Steven Jones says wouldn't are for round pick comes up. We'll just watch Maury highlights. So they traded Amari Cooper who they drafted fourth overall several years later for pick twenty seven they need a wide receiver. They need a tight end. Derek has no weapons and at the end of the day. The thing I always hear is earn Gruden loves offense. You know? I mean, he talks a big game about the coaching staff and offense is his baby. In last year. It was an embarrassment that their defense is always bad for the raiders. But offensively went when they were humming, especially groom they were putting up points. And I think they reset the franchise last year. You gotta use those two picks to me in the twenty. If the guys are there on the ole miss wide receiver one of the Iowa tight ends. You have to get some weapons

"And again, he did say that that's true in every sport. And that seemed like I don't want to make any assumptions. But it seemed like Kohl's agents said dude, you know, you're about to be a free agent, bro. Last thing we need is. You looking volatile. You know, make sure you go smooth is out. But I don't know what do you make of that? Why think that Kobe see these asked himself are you number one receiver are you number to receive your slog receiver because as I mentioned earlier yes to his role. I mean, what is my role going to be? I think every time every player knows where they stand and I don't know for receiver. I would say he's somewhat above average. I would say average receiver. Okay. He's a really good slot receiver. Yeah. And but is that you're going to get as much focus? You're gonna get many balls as your number one receiver the guy Martin Cooper. Look, I think when you I think is great example as you mentioned against Philadelphia when they're anticipate and they're going to try to take him out of the game. And okay well world, so those plays in from are they going to be from me? Or are they going to be from? I don't know Alan Hearns or Michael Gallup because I think again, I think he's asked himself. What is my role my role is you're pretty much slotted which a slotted no slot receiver, but pretty much slotted where you're going to be as far as like free agency. This is the market for what you're going to be paid as a receiver in a number of receivers going to get more looks going to get more balls more targets than a Slavi Slavi Segers almost Saint like a safety vow. Remember this year, we talked about before Mark Cooper sign with the Cowboys came here as a free agent that are slot. The slot. Receiver was the biggest. On this offense that work. So I understand that look wants to get the football two minute. Defenses are playing a lot more. They're not playing. You know, they're backing everyone back they're giving me thing underneath and your and get the bowl. So I don't understand where that's coming from me. Because I think everyone realizes that two minute. You're gonna get a lot of distribution of the ball his his Wednesday comments when he did kind of walk it back. He said some are misunderstanding. My point every teams game plan in pro sports is dictated by the front office. Big free agent. Editions hydra picks, etc. Are going to get the most opportunities and I'm not mad at that. LL just want to help my team win. All good players want the rock now. I think he's totally right. That all players want the bog and everybody wants to make plays. Everybody wants to feel special note. I have zero problems are a little problem. Call said, I think that Kohl's point here is hey, I want to be more involved. I think it's maybe not a good point. Because the Cowboys have more kuprin Zeke on their team. And I think I think that maybe cold I. To say needs to get checked a way too aggressive way, but coal is not going to get more opportunities on anything. You know? I mean, that's just you know, not the way slot receivers work the most prominent slot receiver in the NFL is maybe Jarvis Landry the way he was utilizing Miami people will suggest that the patriots are kind of butterfly with how they operate. But that's just I mean, you gotta understand the way this works. You know, and I don't I don't blame him for one to be more involved. I think it was just overall it was a bad idea to vocalise those thoughts. And then it was, you know, unfortunately, he got sucked into Twitter, and then it blew up. I think that he he's not stupid. Retract or say that that's not what he man, we know exactly what he met anytime. He puts that send button. Whether it's Twitter, whether it's Email, you gotta think about a ticket, deep breath and think about what what the consequences may be or the reaction of everyone. I think that he was probably a little bit. Sure. And took two to retract and say, oh, well, people look coal. We understand exactly what you meant to me. I think you just patent because you didn't par the offense. And really you have to be humbled in this game..

"Let's just go doing. Well. You know, it's like this. You know, you keep it's like a boxing match you keep hitting someone amount. And they're going to sit there and go told until but ultimately you hit him in the right place. Look they're gonna they're going to lay the white flag or you're going to be able to I guess score points in a boxing match. And it's kind of like the Cowboys are their defense that keep punching punching here. And, you know, look, it's it's a struggle on both sides defence Lou to really try to stop a team full of playmakers an eagles, and you know, it's nine to six and you're thinking Hanisch. Just in the Cowboys. I looked up in the difference in the third corps believes the beginning of the fourth quarter was the the eagles excuse me. The Cowboys had a total told the total offense in yards was three ninety nine to the eagles won forty four. And I'm like is that they're playing that dominant. But the problem is within them when they get in the red zone for some reason, there's some kryptonite. Yeah. By the goal line. We just can't punch it in. And to me. That's the biggest story line for this team when they get into the red zone for some reason, they just can't find a way to punch their ticket and get six points. Now saying it gets it gets it gets it gets more crowded down there. Whatever gets a lot easier for the defense, and I'm not gonna lie to your keying on number twenty one twenty one. It's going to get all the touches. Yeah. Besides Mark Cooper was Mark Cooper got target thirteen times ten receptions, guess what? It's coming up. Twenty one. So it gets a little easier down in the red zone. And but to me, that's my observation is at RJ is that their time of possession. They're gonna try to get that. But you know, as you get you get involved in this game. You got to find a way to convert the red zone and to me. That's why I look at those stance. Yeah. Three ninety nine to one forty four. Well, you know, I'm not it doesn't take anybody to be really have a lot of football. I to realize that's a pretty dominating lopsided performance in yards pertain when you look at that stat, you know, when we were watching this game to me early on it felt like the Seattle Dame last season that was just field goals balls just kind of really really tight and really close. But the more I thought about it in retrospect it felt a lot like the titans game this season. And that's still lost. That's been voted this whole thing. But remember early on that game Cowboys they went up, and it just felt like they should be thirty five nothing because they had dominant and Zeina. Doc through that intersection in the end zone. That was his last interception before he got picked off against philli. And so this game kind of had that vibe. And you know, kinda had the vibe of your you're letting them you let them hang around, man. You know, and you let the saints hang around, you know, they act to a degree that the falcons hang around and still though somehow some way, you know, call it lot kala whatever they found a way to get it done. But ultimately winning what matters most. But I think that tweeted this, and I know you would text me joking behalf, and I tweet and sell my I love your. So I waited this during the game. The Cowboys offense is like a piece of spare Agoos. Okay. Because I know you know, what we talked about at time. But when you the peace of asparagus you start at the top, and you work your way down and you get to the. But you're like, you know, I'm good. I don't it's you know, it's not green in. I mean, it sometimes it's white still, and you just you don't eat the butt of the spirits. That's the Cowboys offense in the reds. They eat the whole thing. And then they just leave the, but and that's it..

"They have to extraordinary offensive weapons in a Mark Cooper and Zeke you'll Elliott, and that is why if I'm if I'm making a bet right now, I I like the Cowboys better than I like the bears. Really? Well, it's tough because you know, press cuts the other one got his correct Mitch. So the bears win the Super Bowl. They had the number one offense in the National Football League wasn't based on on amazing performances by Jim McMahon. He was good. He was good. And he had a pretty damn good running behind him. Yeah. Yeah. He was good. I mean, I'm just saying he's not wasn't dazzling. Jim McMahon was never dazzling. He he made the plays when he had to make him. He was tough. But and I I think Trubisky is is a safe. I don't I'm not saying he's Jim McMahon. I'm not saying he's anybody else, but Trubisky on the overall year easy. He's got what twenty touchdowns and even with last night's nine interceptions. He's he's. He's hits about sixty six percent of his passes. He's good enough with that defense to win the NFC and Mike if that game between Dallas and Chicago's in Chicago, I'll pick Chicago what no Mitch then. Maybe if it's the championship game. I'm just saying the bears. Are it's unlikely that the bears are going to get to play every playoff game. And unless the bottom falls out of the rest of the contenders at Soldier Field this year. And so they're not gonna be playing in twenty five degrees. They're not going to be playing on a Sunday night and the conditions. Absolutely. You could say the Rams after about a court said, oh, man. It's too cold. I don't wanna play anymore, and but again that game it's a different game. If it is it's seventy five degrees and sunny in the Los Angeles Coliseum. I've always believed this about bowl games. Just discord tangent for a second that because they play all these college bowl games in the south and under perfect conditions that mid west big ten teams have distinct disadvant-. I would love to see a college poll game for his national championship being played in Ann Arbor in snow. I would love it. And I I think people would love it. I what's the most famous game ever played the ice bowl. I think that all these. We thought we thought we might get one when the Super Bowl fears, and it was bombing. No. But I'd love to see that because they're built differently. The teams in the mid west. It's like poor sales. When did they come into New York weather? I I would love to see Florida state and Miami and Alabama have to come up to Columbus to become up to an Arbor play in February. Well, you're right. You're right. And most of the biggest championship game semifinals and finals ended up being played in these massive indoor stadiums wherever they are. So you're playing in seventy two degrees all the time. And whether it's never a fat. Correct. Even the heat is in a factor anywhere. And that's a fair point. And yeah, yeah. The bears are nine and four and they're chasing teams that have eleven wins. So yeah, if everybody wins out and everybody holds hold serve the championships not likely to be played in Chicago. But that's assuming that the saints in the Rams don't get knocked off earlier. I think there are holes in both of those. There's no perfect team..

"Got some uncomfortable realities to deal with almost as uncomfortable as at direct stop. Uncomfortable realities because last night football team lost. Dallas Cowboys lose twenty eight to fourteen Monday night football home game in Jerry world to the Tennessee titans. The panic switch if it's not already hit has a finger hovering over the button right now because Jerry world three and five doesn't really fly. And you start off last night with all of the fanfare of Mark Cooper's first game. And we assume like I did yesterday that Amari Cooper, leaving the raiders in a way that similar to Khalil Mack in a way that seems. Just in line with what the raiders have been trying to do put him in line for the same sort of success. Because at this point the Jon Gruden factor goes like this player leaves the raiders they are destined for greatness elsewhere, at least in the very beginning of this. And so I figured Amari Cooper hundred plus yards receiving night with a touchdown or two was in the cards. Now fifty six yards later to touchdown. Especially some early success. It seemed like at the beginning. We are trading in that direction. It seemed like this is going to be all the things that Jerry Jones wanted it to be. And yet. And yet the Cowboys fate still seems to be tied with the same things at this point which is dead Prescott ability to not turn the ball over or in last night's case. Turn the ball over not once but twice. And a direct correlation with when and how the Cowboys use Zeke Elliott for all the things that we can expect to change it expecting Amari Cooper to change anything substantially in a heartbeat would have probably been a fool's errand. Although I don't know listening to Jerry Jones talk after the game, which is is going to be the focus of this. As most Cowboys things. Do they come back to Jerry Jones because I could sit here and talk about the team, and I could sit here and talk about the obvious things with this Cowboys squad that regardless of bringing Amari Cooper, and it shouldn't stop you from also trying to feature the other portions of your offense in a way that didn't seem to match up last night. When you go down the list Colby's Lee with only three receptions last night on four targets seems like a missed opportunity if you were trying to steal exploit the middle of the field. Now getting Michael Gallup more involved was important, but Amari Cooper came right in. And did what I think Jerry Jones would have liked. He was their leading receiver. God in the end zone. Did all these things. And it still wasn't enough. Why? 'cause you lost situational football all across the board. You've got a team. You look on the surface. And you look at the defense, man. The Cowboys defense look fast last night. Cowboys defense across the board. Jalen smith. I never thought he was going to be this guy again after that injury after dealing with drop foot. All these different things. The nerve damage is like I never thought he was going to be this guy again. So you had that your Sean Lee down last night for them. Which I know you Bart Vander Asha over. But every time you lose, Sean Lee. There seems to be drop off for this. Cowboys defense last night was no exception in the second half of that game. When things really started to tilt in the favor of the Tennessee titans. But it always leads us back to Jerry Jones. This is the place where it goes. Because the fact that every Cowboys game after we have to hear from the owner slash GM slash everything else. Is a strange place to be like other teams aren't dealing with that. And so when you're Jason Garrett. You can sit up there at the end and offer an honest assessment. Here's Jason Gary talking about pocket presence. Dak prescott. Took five sacks last night. Can he do better in the pocket? Jason garrett. The job in the pocket when when those things happen when the pockets breaking down, and he's got to be aware of fans, again, we'll we'll watch the tape and see the specific plays. You know? Sometimes it does a great job. He gets out and extends plays and Taylor. Make some plays with this other times wasn't quite as good collectively. So we'll watch the table make those evaluations versus last Michael junior here on ESPN radio and the ESPN app, but again. Jerry. I mean, listen consent there Jason Gareth reaction. Oh, we really care about the guy. That's calling the shots guy. That makes his voice felt in every avenue in every part of this organization that Jerry Jones who from now on now that they are three and five every game that continues to trend like this. If it does so is going to get asked questions like this is.

"To go back and look at the playbook Jason Garrett. Scotland ahead they have to get some more explosive plays down the field. Mark Cooper, keep veasley ball. Because that Prescott. As a quarterback running the ball. Every I town you've got to throw the football down the football field, and you can't win. If you're turning it over there the red area. And I mean early on you got a chance against the team in Tennessee that maybe is a little bit wobbly as I mentioned leading to you. They didn't enter with a ton of momentum. So you've got a chance at home to really step forward. And then you turn the ball over repeatedly. What do you notice is going on with a guy who started his career valuing the football like he was gold? And now he's turning it over a lot. Well, I think some of his play calling. I think when you're Scotland a hand you have to open the field up. We talked to Jason Garrett through the weekend. He says we're always going to be a physical ground and pound. They got a lot of hot draft picks on the office of mine, but I'm afraid wrong way. That's Prescott football in these football down the field. That's why you get Amari Cooper. That's why Michael California outside you have to open the offense up. I think Scotland a hand and Jason Garrett along with Dak Prescott hunker down and figure out what? What? They won't be you can run the football. But points are scored in the passing game. And after football league at twenty eight thousand Scott as you as you're describing that we see this statistic where ten turnovers. Ten games with multiple turnovers in the last two seasons. They're they're one nine and again when he exploded onto the scene and takes the job. I mean, he he valued the ball. So there's that titan.

"I think you'll see immediate impact from him. I think you're going to see a semi close low scoring game. Because Tennessee's also coming off a bye, and they have the third defeat. Points allowed. So I think it'll be a bit of a battle. But I still see my Cowboys winning twenty two ten and we'll be off to the races in the NFC because we are going to win the NFC east. But anyway, you make some very badly points. Both defenses are very good. That was number one in scoring defense as you mentioned number three red zone defense titans. Number one, number two. Both teams leaves a lot to be desired offensively as far as getting the ball into the endzone. Now, the Cowboys will make a concerted effort to try to get Mark Cooper involved. They you know, what I hope on the first play. They just throw him a quick start throwing the football involved. The titans. No that also. Go to try to get involved. Well, putting alcohol or on it? Oh. But here's the thing. When you try to would you try to take a receiver out of the ball game? You have to sacrifice something. Now, you're going to take that extra defend out of the box to help coverage over Cooper over the top. That means you have six seven box to try and deal with Zeke. I don't know. That's a good. And you say Zeke is fourth. He probably won't be the end of the night. He'd probably be second. Yeah. Probably at the one twenty five. Well, if I'm the titans still want the ball number four, and if he does for three hundred yard live with that. But I'm not Lizzie run out of the building. And that's what this team is capable of. I've just never been sold. Omar Yoda just out in either. I agree skip. I don't know how the titans scored enough points, especially on the road in order to beat in order to beat this team Dallas there might be better than advertised defensively. I didn't see that you know, because I thought there back in. But they generate such a rush on the front end that the secondary doesn't have to hold up. Now. Byron Jones has been a great him. He's been the best corner. I don't know if he's the best corner. But he's in he's graded the best game with that the best. I just don't know how mar iota in this. Tennessee titans off its score. No points to put the Cowboys in fear. Now, just as I say that they come out there and have one of those ball games. It seemed like they go right down the field for the first three position to get seventeen. Twenty one point. But I I got the Cowboys twenty twenty-seven titans who you give me twenty seven points against the third ranked offense explode going to give it to you. But I think that's what they're capable of getting especially if they're going to be there at home like you said they'd been off a fifteen date. The thing is. You said the transition what he's saying is that guys getting in and out of the break. If you think about it. He's had death for two years. There's not around, and then he doesn't transition which means he doesn't get in break than get out into hurrying the guys that he has now they don't get out of breaks her. I'm not sure does ever qualified as quick twitch. Maybe early days I read what he wrote four five. Returning punts. His first year was a big body who he won the fifty fifty balls. So he was seventy five percent of the fifty fifty walls. Then all of a sudden fifty fifty fifty fifty with slightly less than fifty fifty. An his favor. So now, he can't transition. He can't get in and out a break. And I'm looking at you only run into route time Dion, and I were talking last night. You know, what a wonderful thing is when you don't even have to worry about the deep ball. What about going depot me? So it's a beautiful thing that I worried about somebody. But he never worried about it. No matter who he played. So just imagine you playing dead. You know, worried about them running you You're not. not worried about him running speed out everything going to be in breaking or ball..

"Be hosting the Tennessee titans on Monday night and the Cowboys Cowboys. You know, that whole NFC east is just an absolute pass. It's a mess right now. It's bad. But you think that the that the Cowboys can win a game against Tennessee and continue to be in the race which they will be in the race. They will be in the race. Yeah. I think Amari Cooper will be getting his first start with the Cowboys. They picked him up two weeks ago from the raiders which we can talk about a little while ago. Jon gruden. I'm super excited. Seymour Cooper with the Cowboys worrying number nineteen. I just I don't have faith in the Cowboys. Yeah. But I have a lot of hope to them. Well, I have hope for the two because the Cowboys they've got to do something. I think deck finally found his guy. Yeah. We're gonna see the little pirate. He'll be making his ten catches the game. But I think Amari Cooper, he'll be the void that they've been missing desperate. Right. But we can kind of go into further about this. Why do the Cowboys give up a first round pick for Mark Cooper when they could have gone at picked up Dez Bryant thing. Yeah. I don't know why they didn't do that could talk hours about this. But and you got to remember the Cowboys would not give up a number one to get her Thomas from Seattle, which is so stupid because you know, what I think Earl Thomas no longer run is such a better valuable player that Amari Cooper, right, but desperate times call for desperate measures and Dak Prescott needed to receive your Amari Cooper guy, though. I don't know I like Bryant Ben his numbers have been dwindling. But you know, what he's young gal. He's been on a bad team. He's never had a solid quarterback. And he's an Alabama product. Yeah. He's a win saving product. He's a winner. And I just think he's look he's been looking for the right place right time. And I think this might be okay. That's our look at the pros. We're gonna have are pro pick him and a little bit. But get you up to date. The longhorns lead.

But if he thinks he makes his team immediately better, which I think it would it's good leadership to Thomas. I think is a very good leader. "Welcome to the underdog episode. Number ninety, four. I'm Chris Belgium about on Xiew-kang economists going on what's up, Chris. How're you doing? I'm well. I'm well. We'll talk some football today. I wanna talk about the nonsense in the shenanigans that are going on with the Oakland Raiders right now. Jon Gruden seems like he is literally trying to destroy that team destroy that roster and Oakland spirit as a byproduct lot of weird things right? They all we heard. A lot of people were available via trade. This past weekend, it all sort of avalanched at one time. Two of those people were a couple of writer's. First round picks Mark Cooper and Karl Joseph. What were your thoughts. Yeah, I thought it was really interesting. I mean, Amari Cooper, certainly. It looks like what was it? They wanted a first round. Is that right? Yes. And I would love a million dollars for recording this episode. That doesn't mean it's going to happen. It should happen. Oh mercy for Mark per. No, I I, I saw that I, you know, Karl Joseph, I think is they're both interesting. I mean, there's a reason why these guys go in the first round. Obviously, Amari Cooper, we done, you know, a top three caliber pick at one point. You wonder how you'd look in different offenses. We saw his ability early in his career still really young, but you know, I, it's tough. I mean, you know, you wanna burn the thing that I understand that, but like why Cooper? I mean next year, right? He's gonna cost some thirteen million dollars for that fifth year option. I don't think Johnny, jeez interested in it, but isn't a young and talented. Isn't that what you're trying to get to young? Talented players like fine, best case scenario you get a second rounder. I mean, I don't think you're going to get a better player as a -ssarily in the second round. And that's a big best case scenario. I think for them also don't think you're getting a second round or for the record. Right? Right, right. I agree. But you know, even then so say third around there. I mean, I just don't really understand the logic, and I also think it's really interesting because it coolly Jon Gruden trying to put a stamp on the team. And you know, we've talked about how awkward relationship is between him and Reggie McKenzie, and you know, I obviously don't think McKenzie's long for this team, but those guys are interesting names are two of the most interesting names out there. And my guess is you know, they could definitely get something day to would think for both of them. I'm not sure. I honestly don't know how good karl-josef there's this stage of his career yet. And if you're if you're trading for more of the raw ability, but obviously he has an injury history coming out of West Virginia, and I'm not sure if he's, you know if he's more the third round pick or whatever it would be that they would want for them. Yeah. I think the third round pick is the high end of what you're going to get. And I think you can potentially get that for Cooper and it may end up being a four that's like a conditional tour three and likely three Joseph, you're right. This guy was a first round pick, but me, you know, that doesn't mean he should have been delillo ca for a first round pick and the Sixers traded him for Trevor Booker and gave up a second round, pick Joseph. He's very limited in what he can do very limited in terms of his scheme fits..

"All right here, we go thirty five minutes after the hour the Thursday draft the show me something week for edition. Anyone coach player? Anyone that needs to show us something to make us believe even more or at all in a given team or coach or players performance. Chris go ahead. It's all rigged. Let's let's go with tales yellow tails. Yes. Bam. Don't worry. I'm going to pick something that you would. Rigged system. Go. Let's see what you got. Okay. I the might first show me something is a team that showed me something over the first three weeks. But this would really show me something. Okay. And that is the Miami Dolphins. You did take mine mine. I was gonna take Ryan tannehill. Yes. I win. Let's cut to commercial. It's over. Okay. The dolphins. Yeah. Show me something. Okay. Yeah. You're three and all we know it, but it's time to go up to big bad New England and play the evil dark lords and Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. So you want to you want us to believe in you the Miami Dolphins that you could actually win the AFC this year that you can actually get into the playoffs. Okay. You're three, you know. And you want some football games. Schedule hasn't been that tough though. This is a real defining moment for me to go is this team for real can they actually win the AFC east and maybe take off the New England Patriots off that throne that they've had for the whole two thousands. And this is a big time show me something game. Don't even discuss this go on to your next one you like the pic now, I think that you were too broad. I think you should have focused on Ryan tannehill. Because he's the guy who gets maligned. He's the guy that the fans have been lukewarm at best about he's the guy that is viewed as not a real quarterback. So he is the guy that will make this happen. When all he does win, you know, everybody else when they win. They just go. He's a winner wins. But for Ryan tannehill that doesn't count for some reason the standard is different from him winning is not enough. I mean, what does it eleven out of this for last twelve starts? So. That's all the more reason for him to be the one to show us something because he's the one that always gets maligned you're making my point you're making point. I didn't I shouldn't even have to make that point. Because that's a stupid point people like to talk about too much pick your needs to show me anything not to show me something it should be this show me anything draft. The raiders are Owen three. It seems like every week. Jon Gruden has something to say about Derek Carr publicly week one. It was for whatever reason we weren't throwing the ball to Amari Cooper. Well, what would be the reason the reason would be the quarterback didn't throw him the ball? And now he says the Derek Carr is trying too hard. I think that that this relationship could fracture. And let's see what happens on Sunday when the woebegone Browns go to the black hole. I mean, you lose to the Browns. And and this gets back to that conversation. We had earlier about we get caught up in uniforms, and we associate good and bad with what a team looks like it's hard to take the stink off of that Browns uniform. Even if the Browns are the better team, if you're Derek Carr, and you lose to the Browns and you're making twenty five million a year. Well, you're not going to be making twenty five million a year much longer. Yeah. He is certainly had some bit bad moments so far this year, and especially last week, I in Jon Gruden talked about it, right? Like, he. He's trying to do. Too much. Hey threw two interceptions last week. Amari cooper. He should probably be included in that show me something. I mean, what the hell are you doing on that deep post interception? You saw there on the highlight. Mike a Mark Cooper stopped running. He drops balls. He he he's shows body bod- bad body language. I couldn't spit that out. Sorry. And then Derek cars had some moments of like, man. That's why you throw in this ball in this situation, and he's cost teams. So I I hear you there. It is going to be a big moment for him. And and everything involved. Okay. I'm gonna go to a team that surprised us on Monday night. And especially on one side of the ball defense show me something 'cause you showed me a little bit last week. And I go man, I thought you guys were horrible. And maybe one of the worst teams in football to start the year. But maybe Matt Patricia and this new cultures finally starting to crack through. But the lions defense. It's the number one pass defense in football. Okay. Whoop. De do. I that was great last week against the pay. Patriots. You should shut down this Cowboys pass offense. I know that because it's like executing at a second grade level right now. Okay. But where I want them to really show me something is run defense because the Cowboys got the run game going last week. And we know that's what they're gonna do this week. It was the it's the talk once again that the Cowboys don't run the football enough and guess who's the worst rush defense in football. Oh, the Detroit Lions so show me something Detroit. You stop the run this week against this team early slow it down. Then I started to go damn the lions might be onto something passed the Ben's. Good offense coming around run defense. Good. Maybe they could be in the thick of things here as the season goes. All right. I'm gonna focus on tonight's game. And there are a lot of members of the Vikings that I could say show me something to I'm gonna say show me something to dalvin cook he missed last week's game with a hamstring injury. But in two games he played. He's got seventy eight. Rushing yards. He's averaging three yards per carry. He's just not getting it done, and you can blame it on the offensive line. But you know, what the offensive line wasn't good last year. And he was having over one hundred yards from scrimmage per game. He had three hundred and fifty four rushing yards in the first four games before tours ACL when he was averaging four point eight yards per attempt and with Davin cook if they can run the ball and control the clock and keep the Rams on the sideline that can frustrate them. When they get a chance to get on the field. I think the Vikings could have long sustained drives and limit the number of opportunities. The Rams have that could be the way to bridge that talent gap and come away with the victory, but they need Dalvand cooked to play like he did in the first four weeks of the two thousand seventeen sees what's he it's a it's a hamstring. Right. Is that I have that. Right. He's dealing with string a hamstring and he's likely to play. But you know, what if you suit up and play then you're you're good to go. And I don't want any excuses if he's on the field, and it looks like he's going to be he needs to show us something because that offense can't be everything that it needs to. To be without a strong running game. Yeah. No. They do. You're right. They need him. And especially in like the short passing game to help open up feelings and the digs over the middle of the field. When linebackers have to worry about a dalvin cook coming out of the backfield and catching a ball and taking off thirty yards. Whether what he's capable to do when he's healthy. Okay. My third and final pick of this Victoria's draft from Chris Simms the champion of this draft. So far will be Mitchell Trubisky. Okay. Mitchell Trubisky quarterback or the two and one Chicago Bears teams. Why I want to tell them to show me something is because I'm a little sick of the haters on Mitchell Trubisky, again, I know people are on them ever since that Packers game where a quarterback that's probably the greatest in history had an unbelievable performance and brought them back. And we talk about the defense, and they blew a twenty point lead. But for some reason everybody talks about Mitchell Trubisky in the game. And I know he wasn't perfect. But I don't understand how he got the blame for that. That's still like mind boggling to me. Okay. But then hey last week against the Arizona Cardinals. It was a little it was a rough patch. I can't lie. It certainly wasn't prettier. Perfect and the Seattle Seahawks. Monday night game wasn't perfect prettier perfectly that he's made a mistake or to to keep games closer the last two weeks. Especially than they should have been. And I want them to show me something this week because all the talks on Ryan Fitzpatrick and the buccaneers offense and it's his fourth game in this system. I hope he's getting to the point where he feels really comfortable, and I just want him to make some plays and shut people up about, you know, his continuing development and where he's at. So I'd like him to have a big game. And and show me something and shut people up along with it. Well, and there are two in one though. I mean, I don't know what more we want. This guy to do who expected them to be two and one. Three and for wasn't for Aaron Rodgers. I know, but I I just feel like it's a common theme. Even when I go on like NBC sports, Chicago and do things like that for the talk is always about Mitchell Trubisky and we're concerned with him. And hey, it's year two and his second system. And let's not forget the offense sucked last year. There's no other way to put it their best receiver was their backup running back like literally when they had a lineup of receiver to take advantage of a match up. They had to go. Okay. Tarik Cohen's the best. We got let's put them outside and have them run wide receiver routes. They had no personnel around him. So this year, he's got he's got some help. But he's learning and he's coming along. All right. Mine is going to be and you may not have seen this one coming Packers defensive coordinator, Mike Patton, right? There was all that optimism before the season. Dom Capers finally out Mike Patton and more aggressive brand of defense a team that is gonna finally complement the offense and look at what they did at home. They're up twenty to seven in the fourth quarter. And they they almost blew the tie. They almost ended up with the loss. They let Kirk cousins shred them later in the game and then this past weekend, the Alex Smith, and and that band of no name receivers. And then Adrian Peterson looking like he's ten years younger than he is running through that defense. Mike Patton has not gotten it done yet. And there was so much faith. And there was so much confidence in this is the opportunity with Josh Josh Allen and the bills come in there. And they're able to move the ball and score points against Mike Patton's defense that's going to be a problem for pets and one fascinating wrinkle here, Josh Allen addressed this yesterday with the media. He was asked if he thinks teams are going to put a spy on him now because he showed. The ability to run the ability the ability to leap, and he said, I hope they do that's one less guy who's who's in the mix hovering receivers. So go ahead. Put us spy on me. We'll take advantage of that. Yeah. I like Mike Patton his defense..

"Problem is that the talent is it the coaching do they know the answer but they just don't wanna say i i think the answer is yes it's the talent it's the coaching it's the scheme that are stubbornly refusing to adjust uh let me give you an example of what i mean by that they will not match up on their secondary the no zone they won't say all right what's what's the really good white out they played says say they play the falcons last week and julio jones's over there they won't say key you got julio jones's the next two hours that's your guy and opposing quarterbacks when they see a marked cooper on brendan langley that's where they're going and the broncos won't move their guys they used to move their guys there was a great source of pride within the no fly zone that they don't plays out on that they're not the seahawks for richard sermon just has you know thirty yards to cover that's his area the broncos didn't do that and that's why the nofly zone was so proud and they say they're the best bestever um i'm not gonna disagree with them for those two years because it's really hard to leave to leave the nfl and pass defense cheers neuro i don't and it's been done i'm actually write about for sunday i think it's going to be pretty good story check that out in the kazak but uh i think it's all those things i think they're couple of their guys got slow they lost to step to marius who's not the same guy he's a possession receiver now and he's commanding a lot of money i think on defensively i think the linebackers are overmatched i i think you're gonna see the last four games have brennan marshall here coming up soon uh and to the running game they just go away from it you know the other day the first series the broncos had in miami there round the ball pretty well cj was averaging he was like five and a half yards a carry uh overs first like four carries the next eight of the next ten snap surpassed place y you know you're quarterback is scared to death back there because he's gotten you know he's gotten just smashed so many times he's shelve what he was and you go.
