"What up everybody. Welcome to another episode of the corner podcast, kell dansby here. What the old man Andreas hell, we are talking wrestling. I can't believe we left it to the last show of the week. We were really been like stretching it, but it led us to having so much more to talk about because we got to watch NXT. We watched some of the build even in the storytelling on raw, which was great for WWE. In my opinion, one of their best roles of the road to WrestleMania build. SmackDown, I think, has been crushed in a raw has been lord knows. So I can't wait to talk about that here in a second. But most importantly, AW had revolution. It feels like it had been so long ago. It was just last weekend. So we did a great preview of it. We're going to talk about the entire card. We're going to talk about what happened on dynamite, which had a couple of fallouts from this. So we get to put all that together, all pro wrestling today. If you guys haven't, by the way, check out our boxing and our MMA episodes from earlier in the week. You have the return of John Jones, recap all UFC two 85. We also talked about javonte Davis and Ryan García. They had their press conferences. Talked about everything around javonte Davis. It was a great conversation. Make sure you guys check that out. Pro wrestling, Dre. Yeah. We in here. AW revolution. We're jumping right into it. Usually we say the pay per view stuff for the end. We're getting to the meat of it right now. One match I want to mention because now with some announcement, it kind of holds weight. The only match on the pre show. Mark Briscoe and the lucha Bros versus Ari daivari and the varsity athletes, Tony nese Josh Woods. Poor Tony nese. He just can't catch a break. But Briscoe and lucha Bros win Lucia Bros are great. Briscoe's getting some good TV time, AW, obviously. ROH all the way. And he's going to be a guy I expect to get a great push of the card in ROH very soon. They announced a tag team match for ROH in LA. The reach for the sky ladder match. The Crown knew ROH champions. Dedicated, of course, to Jay Briscoe. And Mark had the belts and worked, just had the belts with him. Everywhere he went. Lucha Bros are in that match. I think the match is going to be phenomenal. I don't know any of those are teams yet. Is lucha Bros winning a real possibility there? 'cause they teamed with Mark here. I don't think so. It seems like a passing of the torch. Yeah, I don't think so. I think they just, me personally, I think that Tony Khan is trying to make the best matches he can at rig of otter, because SmackDown's the same night. It's weird 'cause AW's essentially on WrestleMania territory, but they're not because it's Ring of Honor. But the sending everybody out there, but I think, I don't think Lucifer is getting relegated to ROH. And then there's a part of me that says, even if they do win, 'cause I always don't have a TV deal and honor club is $10 a month and I don't know who's really paying for that. There's a couple of people, obviously, on my Twitter, but it would be a vast majority. No, but if lucio's word when there are way titles, they show up with them on dynamite. So there's a possibility, I don't think they're going to completely divorce our ways from dynamite. I think there's some people that will still show up. So I guess it's like 30% possible. I think the lucid rules are in there because as soon as you put them in the match, you go, this is going to be fucking nuts. I love that you did 30% possible. It's like Steiner math. And I was like, yeah, that's going to be 33 in the third. 33. It's possible. There's only three teams. They get in this match. So it's exactly 33% possible that they would. Next up, Ricky Starks versus Chris Jericho. That's a good over. It was a good opener. He starts wins clean as a sheep. He needed, he was supposed to. Shenanigans. I feel like he already won before. I know, but I think this was a match. All right, first and foremost, I told about this build sucked to this whole card. This bill was like, this isn't great. A few of them were great, but this wasn't great. But when you sit down, boy, don't even matter. Like, this match happened and I was like, well, that was a lot better than I anticipated. And then I'm like, it got kind of Ricky over. Then dynamite, they transitioned to who attacked him? Oh my God. As soon as something good happens. Something bad happens. It's like held the build with shit, the match was great. Ricky's gonna be positioned in something great. You know, I feel about juice Robinson. Yeah, no. Fuck it. I'm not even getting there. It's not even the worst part. The worst part, Ricky Starks get through Jericho. It's prominent. That's above mid card. Yes. When you with Jericho? A 100%. So it's like, yo, he's getting pushed upper mid card. You're in the hangman page range of shit. You were going to get another title shot soon. Amazing. He's in the ring, cutting the promo I won. It's great.

"I'm not that strong. I wish you could have done my head live my heartache. Oh man, I'll never delete this. I'm gonna miss him so much, man. Yeah, man. I mean, because you guys also even came from the same area of the country too. That's right. And when I my first couple matches, the briscoes are on those same shows, we broke in the same time, and I remember there was tons of times where Philadelphia had these weird rules where if you were 17 or under, you couldn't rush so you had to be 18. I was the same age as Mark Briscoe. Oh, wow. So the commission would be like, no, he can't wrestle. But no one would ever ask me. So they would let me wrestle no one after ask for my ID. I remember Mark and Jay thought was a liar, 'cause I'm the same age as Mark. And he can't wrestle. No one ever carted me or anything. So yeah, breaking in my parents or friends with their parents, man. It's going to be it's going to be different without seeing or getting a text from him with a country music song that he thinks I should listen to. My favorite country music song that he sang and the reason I didn't play it is because the audio isn't that good. There's a song called whole lot of trouble. I can't remember the woman who sings. Listen to this grown man. The guy who I think is like the toughest man. Music song, it's awesome. So what's your mindset tonight for this match? I mean, obviously going on last is a huge deal. Any time, but even tonight it's even more so in honor of Jay. Yes, yeah. And I'm really thinking boy, you really asked for it. You wanted it, you got it. I'm like, oh man, I'm not afraid of it. I do welcome it, but there is a lot of pressure. I'm probably that I'm putting on myself more than anything. Because I just want this to be something that is memorable or something that Jay Briscoe would be proud of. And then there's another part of me that just wants to be a body or a vessel in their with Mark because this is just as much his moment as it is to honor Jay and although he may look at it a little different. That's the best I can answer. The thing is, is that this is the first time Mark Briscoe has ever been on national TV. Correct. Correct. And it's unfortunate that it was Jay's passing that led to it, but the small silver lining is at least we get to see Mark Briscoe and national TV. Right. This is probably the biggest match of his career for so many different reasons. Correct. That's why that's why I was mentioning that it's probably a little bit of both. This is a, I want it to be something long-lasting and that Jay Briscoe would be proud of, but also like I said, it's a moment for Mark as well, although if you ask Mark, he probably doesn't see this as a moment for him at all. No, no. This is all about his brother. Any last thoughts about Jay Briscoe? You know the guy made one tiny mistake and said something that he wished he didn't say and he tried for so long to tell him for that,

"Time that I ever hung out with him just me and him. Because as you know, on the road, you always want to get the boys together, you know? So there was only one time that we hung out just the two of us. And that's when we were in the UK and our hotel from our hotel, we could see in the distance there was one of those top golf places where you can, so he had never been, I believe, and he wanted to go, so he told Mark, let's go. I was all gung Ho. I tried to get some of the boys, but all the boys, they didn't want to because it was a rough travel. And Mark Briscoe, he was tired, plus we kind of make this joke about Mark Briscoe where he can't do anything of his wife doesn't want him to do it. So it ended up being just me and Jay Briscoe. So he was so excited. It was like kid on Christmas. But I had been a top golf plenty of time. So when we got there, this was our first time hanging out, so we talked about, you know, we're both the older brothers to our brothers, and I wanted my brother to get into wrestling, but they didn't want to do it. But the thing I'll never forget about that day is, and I actually have video of this and I posted it. Jay Briscoe was hitting these golf balls so hard. And the rotation and the Twitch he would do, I thought it was hilarious. But the next day he couldn't move. He heard his back. And Chris, we had shows that day. Right. And let me tell you the toughest guy I've ever seen in my life. Even though he could barely walk, he'd walk a few and then collapse onto the ground, something was seriously wrong. Yeah. But he managed to somehow put his gear on anyway, they planned and called the match. And the match before them is out there, and I feel so bad 'cause he went with me to top golf. So I kind of feel a little responsible. So I remember one of the guys would stand behind him and grab him from behind to help crack his back, and he'd be like, oh, I think that was okay. And then that lasts for like ten seconds and he collapsed on the ground. Oh my God. Man, he wasn't so much pain and it terrified me 'cause like I said, he's literally the toughest guy, no. And all I could think to do was I had just finished wrestling my match, by the way. So I'm standing there sweaty watching him try to struggle through this. And I go, I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll wrestle, I'll replace it. And I turn the Mark, I go, tell me everything. But he was supposed to do. And so I go out there, I do the match, and when we got in the back, Jay Briscoe, he was so sad. He wouldn't cut a promo, but his hands in his face, and he was like, man, I gave the promoter the money back. He paid me. I couldn't rustle. Oh, wow. I know. And then Myanmar let him have it for weeks after that because we were like, why did you give the money back? The work was done by the lethal. So Mark was like, why didn't you give the money to the lethal? So for weeks for weeks, it turned to when we'd see each other. We'd say captain, he'd go captain and he'd go, I should have given the money to you because the work was done. Just delay, let's say I could see him and hear his voice saying it. It's wild. In my last couple of memories of Jay Briscoe is we were in this, you know, try and queue it up while we're talking. We were in this text message group, me, Jay Briscoe, and Mark Briscoe. And we would send each other. Clips of a singing country music songs because I was kind of in the country music. And if J Brisco thought I needed to hear a song, he would play it for me or he'd sing it or send me a link to it. So we've got so many clips of you guys singing of us singing to each other and this was the last one I got which was from January here.

"And it was the Briscoe's versus the Young Bucks, and the storyline was going to be at the end of the match, SoCal uncensored was going to come out and it looked like we were going to help the Briscoe's attack the Young Bucks. And instead we turn babyface. But the problem was, we were doing it, we're doing the pay per view in Baltimore, which is where all the Briscoe's family live. So literally, first of all, the bucks who are at the time and still one of the most popular tag teams in pro wrestling. Wrestling the Briscoe's in their hometown. So literally everything is, let's go, Chris goes, let's go, Young Bucks. And I'm thinking, oh man, we got to try and turn babyface by attacking these guys that everybody loves. So I remember the spot was, I came in with a chair, a J turned his back on a clock and with the chair. And immediately the crowd goes. And I remember walking back and I think Jay's dad threatened me. Like Jay's dad, who loves me in real life, like I want to say he came over the top of a barricade and he was like, he's sort of a bit of a fog you in the back of the mother, I was just like, mister Briscoe, it's all, you know, just like, oh my God, yeah. I thought the family was going to literally kill all three of us. And just that was them, man. It's not that they weren't good heels. It was that they were so well respected in the Ring of Honor fan base was the type that they respected hard work and and the loyalty that the Briscoe showed throughout their career. It was just, it was like trying to make Lance storm a heel in Canada. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? It's impossible or boo Bret Hart. How do you boo Bret Hart? Like that sort of thing. That was my experience in the single stuff. And then all the tag matches that Frankie and I did and the ones after the fact when Frankie and scorp were the team, just got a chance to work with those guys so often. It was so much fun. You always knew you were in for a tough night though, like they were so rugged. Like they weren't stiff, they weren't dangerous, but man, you're gonna feel it. Yeah, a 100%, a 100%. They were always safe, but they were at a hundred miles an hour. In a good way, like they looked so real. And part of it was, it was 90% real, you know? So yeah, they were just such a great team. Such a great team. It's amazing the stuff that they did over the course of 13 title reigns and more than 20 years as a team and all the great teams that they got a chance to work. I didn't even realize I had forgotten that they had gone over to both Noah and new Japan and one titles in both. That's right, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So they had such a wide variety of experiences that people may not even remember because ROH stuff sort of overshadows it all. But yeah, what a career the both of them the both of them. Final thoughts on Jay. Man, this one really hurts, man. Just understanding the type of guy he was. And the type of family man that he was above and beyond the wrestler. Wrestlers come go, you know, we retire. We get out of this business, but put that all aside and just the fact that his family, his brothers, his wife, his kids. Like that just breaks my heart and I said this a couple of times and I'll say it again to Ashley, thank you for sharing him with us. As much as you did, 'cause every night that he was on the road with us was a night he was away from them and now you look at the number of days that they were away from each other that they could have had if he wasn't in this business. But like if that was the case, we wouldn't have been blessed with Jay Briscoe and the team that they were and it weighs on me to know that we took them from their family for so often, but it's such a gift to all of us that we got a chance to share it with them. So it's just, oh man, it's rough, dude, it's rough. And I love EJ. I miss you already. I miss you. So much, it's just heartbreaking. Thanks, Chris. Yeah, man, thank you. All right, so we're here with Jay lethal. And obviously, there's been a twist from when we decided to start doing this is that over the last day, you are now going to be working with Mark Briscoe in the main event tonight as a tribute to Jay. Tell me how do you feel how that kind of come about from your experience? Well, the true story is I questioned one of Mark Briscoe's Friends, Jeff Jones. And I said, hey, I haven't really talked to mark because, you know, every time I talk to him, he's like super strong and he's not really showing much emotion, so he just keeping it all together probably because he got like 7 kids. He's got to stay strong for all right. So I said, you think this is going to be it for Mark or you think he's still going to rustle. And he goes, well, no, not only doesn't want to wrestle, but he'd love to try and get on this Wednesday, do something. I said, wait, what? Hold on, let me call you back so then I call Sanjay and I'm like, hey, if there's any chance of Mark even being there, can I please please do something with him? Can I please, please, please. He goes, well, let me ask. And before you hung up, I just kept saying, please. Please. And then sure enough, he texted me goes, oh, I think there's a possibility. Then I heard that Mark Briscoe asked if he could do something with me, which is insane that we both asked and man, there's just, this is insane. I'm so nervous going into this match. This is unlike any match I've ever had before in my life. And I just want to honor my good friend as best I can and part of me thinking like some of the things I want to do, I could just hear his opinions on it or what he was saying because he'd always whenever I did something where it would suggest something he didn't like or didn't want to do he'd go like the I don't know. Oh man and you know what and Ring of Honor Chris I always called him captain and he always called me captain and that's because there was at one time a debate on who the locker room leader was. And I was like, oh, it's definitely Jay Briscoe. Everybody was on board with it being Jay Briscoe. And I said, Jay, you're the leader of this law. You're like the cat. You're the captain of this locker room. And he goes, nah, nah. You're the captain, man. So then we just kept calling each other captain. And ever since then, whenever we see each other, we wouldn't even say Joe the name, we'd just say captain hey, how you doing? And then he went to Mexico and then I switched to El Capitan. And then I could just hear him laughing now. He just got the biggest kick out of that. Let me ask you a question then why did everyone decide, including you that Jay was the locker room leader? Well, for starters, when that discussion was had, Jay Briscoe was the one who had been there the longest. So he had seniority also the way he carried himself and you know what? I've never seen him in a legit fight, but no one would go. He like, if something went down, he's the guy that I want on my side, because he's just, man, he's one of the toughest guys I know. Like legit legit. Did you guys travel together for over ten years? You want to know something?

"All right, so we got Chris Daniels here. You want to talk a little bit about the Briscoe's prior to Ring of Honor. Yeah, I don't know if everybody knows this. It's certainly not as celebrated as the Ring of Honor career, but there was a company on the east coast called ECW east coast wrestling association run by a gentleman named Jim Kutner, who was a very brilliant promoter great promoter and very instrumental in my early independent career. And he, I don't know if he specifically trained the Briscoe's, but he was one of the first places that had them working as a tag team. They actually had a program with Charlie and Russ Haas. And this is early in Charlie's career as well. So literally there was a big feud between the Haas brothers and the Brisco brothers. Russ must have passed away in about 2005 or so too, right or 8. Even earlier than that. Yeah, I thought Russ passed, I want to say Russ passed like in two, I think Russ passed before ROH opened. Okay, so like 2002 1001 maybe, maybe even earlier than that. Just check it out. But yeah, so these guys, like Jay and Mark, I had no idea how young they were. 2001, he passed away. Yeah. So they had this huge feud in Jim Kepner's ECW a two brother teams and Jay and Mark at the time I didn't realize how close they were in age, but they almost looked identical. Like buzzed hair, same singlet. So yeah, so that was my first exposure to Jay and Mark. And then the first time I ever get a chance to work with Jay and Mark, they were doing an angle in Ring of Honor. This is the first year of Ring of Honor where Gabe sapolsky, who was the promoter, was trying to do something more Mark wanted to join the prophecy, which was the first heel group that I was in charge of. And so we did a tag match where it was J and the amazing red against me and Mark Briscoe, and this was the first time that I think they had ever done an angle where I think they had had Mark and J Russell before, but this was the first time where Mark was going to play a heel and Jay was going to be himself. And they looked so like that I was putting heat on amazing red and we went to the comeback spot and literally he goes over and he tags Mark and I just look at him like that's my partner bro and just put more heat on him and just okay plan B red it was so hysterical like we all three of us me mark and the ref we all looked at each other like oh, that's not what was supposed to happen. So yeah, so and then it makes sense now I was thinking about this earlier. Like I said, I didn't realize how close they were in age, but I remember now the first Ring of Honor show the angle was that Mark wasn't old enough to wrestle in Philadelphia. So they had them come to the ring and second J&J wrestled. I can't remember we wrestled on the first show. Maybe it was red. Because they were just teenagers at the time. Yeah, yeah, a 100%. Like Jay was 18 and so march was 17. Honestly, until recently, I just realized that they were less than a year apart in age. Because Mark was premature. I didn't realize that. So yeah, so Jay, the first show Jay wrestled, and there was an angle where, okay guys, mark's not quite old enough. Mark's not quite a no, hey, marsh old enough, and now the Briscoe's became. And I remember last week when we were doing tributes to Jay, I remember talking about how the nature of pro wrestling is like you come to a company, you leave the company who come to a company, you leave the company. And I specifically had four different parts of my career where I was in Ring of Honor. At the very beginning, I had to leave, I came back, I left again because of TNA, so there were four separate sections of my career where I was only with Ring of Honor and then I was gone. And the entire time, Mark and Jay were there, and it ended up like the loyalty that they had to the company. It's funny. And I'm sure everybody that you speak to probably has this story in their holster. And I wasn't here for this. I just know it because it's been so well spread. But the story is that one of the years that they were going to negotiate a new contract. Jay and Mark walk into the room with maybe it was Joe koff, maybe it was before then. But Jay starts, now before we get started, I want to let you all know that we ain't going anywhere. And Mark immediately goes, damn it. Damn it. Why you gotta show my hand? And that became famous. That became the famous story of how Jay and Mark were just Ring of Honor for life for life. Top to bottom and we always popped about, we would ride in the cars and every once in a while, just someone out of nowhere would be like, boy, we're going anywhere. Well, I'll let you all know. Just out of the blue, someone would just start doing a J and we would all pop because we knew what story we were doing. So you guys spent a lot of time traveling the roads together? Not specifically in the bar, like for me, it was always myself, Frankie, the bucks, Scorpio at the end, was driving with us. But we were always at the arenas like Jay and Mark usually with travel with the guys that were coming from the Delaware area from Baltimore. So I think they were with Ian, but we were always in the arenas and they were always the both of them, despite their outward personas, the terrifying, manic briscoes that would face you across the ring. They were 180° different in real life. They were always there with a smile. Every time J saw me, I actually both of them, I think every time they see me, they go, CD, baby, just that was how they would sing my name. And I was like, oh, okay. Yeah. CD baby? So yeah, every time a smile, a hug, just always warm and affectionate. They're the sweetest guys I never in 30 years got a chance to share a locker room with. Any thoughts on Jay as a wrestler as a performer? Oh, man, I didn't realize until recently. We had only wrestled three singles matches in my career. And I didn't, we didn't start until 2014. That was the first time. And I don't know what took so long to get a singles manager. And part of it probably was because they were so entrenched in this Activision. They were such a stalwart of the tag division, but Frankie and I, the first time we wrestled, we had just lost the tag team titles in the latter war with the bucks and the machine guns, and we were starting to turn babyface and Jay at that point was the first time we wrestled. He was a babyface because he was just, he was Jay Briscoe. The fans took to him no matter what he was doing. And so I just recently watched the match back and remembered like, oh, you know, this was this was me starting to realize that I was a bad guy, and I shouldn't be a bad guy anymore, and that sort of thing. And the second time we did the singles match was the decade of excellence tournament, like the finals of that tournament that I want so I could get the title shot that I ended up winning the title in. So like all this stuff sort of happened as Jay was starting to lean towards a heeled moment. And the third time we wrestled was right before that, they had done a pay per view in Baltimore, where the briscoes had just finally turned heel.

"And former Ring of Honor superstar Sanjay Dutt also knew Jay Briscoe and the Briscoe brothers well. And he sent in these thoughts about his friend. Jay Briscoe, he was, I think we all know and we've all seen and witnessed his matches and we know that he was one of the greatest professional wrestlers that ever did it. Singles tag no matter what it was, he was absolutely one of the greatest, I remember as the years progressed, I would love to not just watch their matches, but watch their promos. Jay had this believability, this intensity that could be unmatched. Nobody could match what he brought to the table when he started to talk and cut these promos in made me want to care and made me want to watch the match that he was talking about. It was it's an incredible skill to have and he had it, man. He was born to do this. He was born to be a professional wrestler, but more than anything, more than all the wrestling accolades. What defines Jay Briscoe is the word family. That's what defines who he really was to the core of it, an incredible father, an incredible son, an incredible brother, and incredible uncle. That is what was first and foremost to Jay Briscoe. That took precedent above everything that we do in the ring. And behind the cameras, but being that family man is what defined who J briska was and that is something that really is important to me when I think of Jay Briscoe, you know? Family. It's just family. And I remember the first time that I met Mark and Jay, it was at the old ECW arena. It was a CZW show. And early 2000s, I kind of pull up and getting out of the car and I see this car pull up and it was mama Briscoe. She was dropping them off for that night's matches and it was kind of cool to see because we're all kind of in the same age and my dad was doing the same thing for me dropped me off these indie shows and then you know you just kind of progress in life and in no time you aren't teenagers anymore and you're now your fathers and your husbands and it's crazy to see this person that you have kind of literally seen grow up from a teenager to a man and then realizing the reality that he's not here with us. That's a tough pill to swallow as obviously we know that he was so young. He really had so many hell, if we look at 20 22 and last year, three of the best matches of the year involved Mark and Jay. I was fortunate enough to know Jay as a person. I was fortunate enough to call Jay a friend. I was fortunate enough to call him a colleague, a coworker. I spent a good chunk of the early part of my career in the northeast independent wrestling scene with Jay, I spent a big chunk of time at Ring of Honor with Jay, I remember after I left Ring of Honor, I kind of saw his progression into not just being a tag guy, but becoming the world champion. And becoming a top singles wrestler and crowning that crowning achievement of becoming the ROH world champion. What a sight to see that that progression of a man professionally and personally. I feel fortunate to have seen that and been a part of it for all these years. I remember the first time I wrestle J I was a little intimidated. This was maybe mid 2000s and there is an air of intensity and realism. Like I said earlier that the Briscoe's bring to not just their promos, but their matches. And I was, like I said, I was a little intimidated. It was me and Sabu taken on the briscoes, and I said, okay, well, I'll be all right. I got Sabu with me. And obviously it was great. It was just that first time stepping in the ring with that man. It was really, really cool. And it was in Philly as well, which is where I kind of first met Jay as well. You know, life happens, professionally and personally, and you know, you kind of do your own thing, but you kind of take separate paths to get to wherever it is, you're going in life, but you know, I kind of always kind of always saw myself kind of running back into them. And the same happened last year when they came to AEW and it was cool because I hadn't seen them for I hadn't seen mark or J for quite some time. It had been a few years and just hearing that laugh that's smile gave both of them a big hug at first time and there's a lot of stuff that AEW had done to get the briscoes on television and there was a lot of appearances that the brisket had made at television tapings that they weren't in front of the people, but they were backstage and I kind of feel fortunate that I got those last few moments with Jay. Especially getting to witness some of those classics that they had with FTR last year and witnessing those live and in person. It's obviously a tragedy, but like I said, a man's, I guess, a man's character and is kind of judged by how his peers view him and how his family views him and how he views his family. And, you know, that is kind of what I think of when I think of Jay, you know? A world class athlete a world class professional wrestler. And at the end of the day, a family man who loved those daughters more than anything in the world. And it's something that I obviously I can relate to as a father as well. I'm fortunate and I'm happy that AEW was able to give that tribute that happened on Wednesday night in Lexington, Kentucky with Mark and Mark Briscoe taking on Jay lethal. I feel like that was kind of a nice little nice little tribute that needed to be done and yeah. Lark and Jay, two of the best that ever did it. Jay, I'll miss you, buddy.

"mark briscoe" Discussed on Talk Is Jericho

"Jericho, it's the part of thunder and rock and roll. And we recently lost a really great wrestler and an even better guy. Jamie view better known as Jay Briscoe, one half of one of the best tag teams in wrestling history, the Briscoe brothers with his real-life brother Mark. Jay was killed in a car accident on January 17th, just minutes away from his home in Laurel Delaware. His two young daughters suffered serious injuries in the crash. The girls are getting better, but they have a long physical recovery ahead of them. And if you'd like to help them in their mom, Ashley, you can donate to their give send go fund, give send go dot com slash pew love that's PU GH LOVE. Now I never got the chance to really get to know Jay or Mark very well. And I never got to work with either one of them in the ring. Since as you're about to hear, they are extremely loyal to Ring of Honor and wrestled basically for Ring of Honor, the majority of their career, they were the Ring of Honor World Tag Team champions, 13 times, including the current, RH world champions. But the brisket have a lot of close friends in AW. So I got together with some of them and did this attribute to Jay. Do you remember the great friend family man and wrestler that he was? We got Matt Nick Jackson the Young Bucks hangman, Adam page, Adam Cole, Samoa Joe, Sanjay Dutt Christopher Daniels, and Jay lethal, who wrestled Mark Briscoe in a very emotional match just a few weeks ago in honor of Jay. All these guys share the memories and stories with their friend, Jay Briscoe, and I was at Jay's funeral his service this past weekend in Laurel Delaware. It was in the high school gymnasium that was named after his grandfather, I believe the bill Pugh gymnasium, the place is completely packed and what a great great eulogy from Mark Briscoe and from big man, the Briscoe's father, caprice Coleman did a great one as well. It was just good to see some old friends, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, A.J. Styles. As well as Tony Khan and Britt baker, Adam Cole, Jay lethal. Heidi Kingston, Jimmy Jacobs, all the cats. It was great to get a chance to see them in fellowship. We just remember Jay. And if you feel sad about Jay, just know this, he had pure conviction, his family appear conviction that he is in a better place. He is now with God. And as Mark Briscoe said, in his eulogy, God said that Jay is on the throne. God told him that and said, Jay's all good, you just got to carry on. That's what Mark versus going to do. That's what all the rest of us are going to do if you want to go watch Jay's funeral service. It is on YouTube. It's worth watching just for Mark Briscoe's eulogy alone. It'll make you laugh. It'll make you cry literally. And hopefully you'll get the same from some of Jay's closest friends here as we remember the late, great Jay Briscoe, jamon Pugh right here on talk is Jericho. Rest in peace, Jay, God bless you and your family and I know you're sitting on God's throne and we'll get a chance to see you very soon. All right, so obviously two guys that do the Briscoe's very well Nick Jackson. The box and you were saying that the Briscoe's might be your best opponents ever. Yeah, definitely up there. I think for sure that we wrestle them the most of our career. I would have to ask someone who's great at stats as a feeling. Yeah, he would probably actually know. Yeah, we should ask him. But I'm pretty sure they were the number one team. My God, we went to war with them so many times. So many times. We've started wrestling them. I think I looked it up the other day was O 9 in Dayton, Ohio. I remember they announced it was like a big deal. Like, oh my gosh, the brother teams are finally going to wrestle. You know, and we were excited, but we were kind of nervous because we'd been watching tapes of them from way back when for so long we were so intimidated. I was only like 18 to a child. That Jay and Mark would probably 25 and 24 or something like that. Yeah. Probably around that. Similarities between the two you guys we talked about last week with two brothers teaming and one's a little bit younger but not too much, right? A different gimmick, oh my God. It's completely lunatics. We were so intimidated. Terrified. Terrifying. Even to the last time we wrestled them, which we have a story about that, too, but from the first time a date in O 9, the last time it final battle 18, right, 2018. It was like any time that music would hit and they would walk down and cross shading man up. Like we would look at each other like, are we about to get to a real fight? And hours prior, we were with him in the back laughing and calling the match having a great time, but as soon as the red light was on, especially Jay, Jay would have this look in his eye, like he's gonna kill us. And so Nick and I would be in the ring like going, they know this is a work, right? And then we would wrestle in and obviously they would take care of us, but man they brought it. But they had that reputation too. They were the high standard of ROH tag team wrestling. So yeah, the gold standard to golden standard. So when we first got there, we were like, well, that's who we want to be. And they are always the guys that we tried to be as good as them. So we were always intimidated. And anytime we were like feeling lazy or tired or whatever, oh, you get the bristles and I'd be like, oh, here we go. It's a coffee in us, you know. That reminds me of a tour we did in Australia where we just thought because it was for just some random indie. It was like a 5 day loop or something, so we were like, okay, this

"To a point where you could see somebody like the undertaker would probably look at AEW's locker room, like look at these snowflakes, right? And it could be taken derogatory or not. Depending on how you are as a business person, friends don't always work well in business. Vince did well because he was so cutthroat. I mean, shit. Bother coming from his dad and ate all the regions like PacMan. Just disrespected everybody this day I was friends with. But it worked. It's good business. But going back to this Jay Briscoe situation, I mean, yeah, unexpected death far like hell clearly because the briscoes weren't supposed to be on television or into Warner. And you main event would mark Brisco versus Jay lethal. One, somebody's got to tell me how Mark Brisco worked this match. I know people grieve differently. And sometimes it's best to go to work to get your mind off of various in the work, right? But Jay lethal could barely keep it together. And I said this on Twitter, it's like, yeah, you can finish this or predetermined, but the emotions that elicit out of the people, these people give up their bodies to entertain us. And they lost a brother because pro wrestling's a frat like no other. There is no other industry where I always call it violent ballet because you know you're going to get hurt. Like the end result is getting hurt. Whereas Hamlin's situation of buffalo is completely unexpected. Yeah, you bank pads together, but the finishes aren't predetermined. This is acting with real stuntmen stunt women in real violence and people die and things people get hurt and things happen. And watching this frat come together for a fallen soldier, one of theirs. And have a match in his honor with his brother and the crowd cheering the way that you're in people who had tears in the crowd. It's a different environment. And you can do nothing but give kudos to Tony Khan for that because he didn't have to. He could have just ran the video package had been done with it. But these two wanted to have imagined he was like, oh, sure. Whatever my plans are this week, don't even matter. And I think that's the best thing you can do in pro wrestling because those emotions are real. Like the fans cheer a real and if you looked on social media after that match, everybody was up in arms. Now, it ends with Mark Briscoe standing there and then goes to the power slapper league. I said, you motherfucker, what is wrong with y'all? I don't need the power slash league after this. I felt so disrespected. I was like, like, double the ratings for power slap lead, by the way. Yeah, 'cause it was a great lead in. Everybody looked at it and she was like, thank you, dead man. And Dana White's over here getting people CT unprotected. We still cry and shit. They don't know where the remote is. No, where's Ramon? It seems people can smack them inside their head. Defenseless, we will talk about how power slab league is like the worst thing I've ever seen. Next week. But as AW being a lead into that and I'm sure Dale is like a fucking Friday. He's like, we won. He didn't win, bro. I did not need to see that. But I thought it was a tremendous show. And then dynamite as a whole was a good show. It was. It continues to be a good show. Cole, before I guess I talk about my feelings on dynamite. Cole, what did you think of the tribute and the adjoining match? Yeah, just all the props to Mark Briscoe. I mean, him coming out. I think everybody was waiting to see, obviously, see that match, but see this guy come out just, I mean, it's been a week since his brother's passing. And for him to come out with the strength that he did. I mean, if you were watching and had no idea what was going on, you wouldn't have you wouldn't have known anything different. He came out with the two belts and he looked like he was raring to go. I think the moment of the match for me was obviously Jay lethal was having such a tough time keeping it together and props to Jay lethal for being in that spot and obviously that was something that both men requested to have this match together. But for him to do that and to pull through his emotions is deserves all the kudos in the world. And I think my favorite moment was, even in those first couple minutes, he was still like, he was still crying and bawling. And he gets thrown in the corner and Briscoe slaps him and kind of like brings him back into wrestling mode. And he's like, I want to go. You want to go and Jay's like, I want to go. Let's do it. And it just kind of took the match into the next gear and was like, okay, this is a wrestling match. It's on. This is the beauty of, I mean, any kind of performance art, you know, at the end of the day, that's what it is, it's art, and it provides an escape for people. And again, everyone goes through grieving different. And it's just a credit to Mark Briscoe into strength to get through that. Unbelievable. And yeah, again, like anyone who's worked in television or anything like that, you know there are so much there's so much political bullshit that goes on backstage of why someone can or can not be on television or why this goes this way or this works another way. Tony could have stopped it at we did it the Ring of Honor show untapped. We did it. We're putting it up on YouTube later. If you could have stopped there, he could have stopped at a shown a picture of him. But he fought for this. And if there's anything you can say about Tony Kahn, is that there is an authenticity about him that we definitely didn't see in the Vince era Vince was mister Mann, his entire tenure. The character was real to life. At the end of the day, Tony has, you know, when push has come to shove and many of these moments he's shown a human element to it. We even going back to regal and regal wanting to get out of his contract and go and work with his son back in WWE. And being understanding of all those things. So yeah, kudos to Tony Khan, kudos to that entire production. It was unbelievably well done. And like you guys said, it was also a very good dynamite episode wrapped all around it. And yeah, this is just, it's hard, really hard to come up with words. I was shocked with even trying to tweet like how I was feeling about watching that match, and it was just like, there is no words. It was just, it's one of those moments you'll never forget. And we have to say, it was Jay Briscoe's birthday. Yes. Yes. The day after Jay died with mark's birthday. This is the most harrowing week so you can imagine for that entire family. And this while his nieces are still in the hospital. Marx needs to still in the hospital. We call it performance art and, you know, with the handling situation in Buffalo, like they still play the game and you're still playing for somebody, but this is choreographed, right? Live television keeping it together in football Alicia helmets on. Like these guys are naked to the world, and they have to work this match and be violent with each other, even though they love each other. It's crazy to see that and it's one thing like when people talk about wrestling's fake, I'm like, man, get the fuck out of here. Wrestling is amazing. Not yet, as real as anything else on a pure dynamite side of things, I've been somewhat critical of like, they just keep rolling random people in. To dynamite, they do it a lot. Like Tony does it a lot without explanation. I'll give them credit. I think they found a way to do it that at least makes sense to what I would assume would be a casual viewer. I know

"I think this is another direction we can go. I'm very curious what hunter does based on the fan response versus what I'm sure they thought they were going to do from the beginning. Definitely. Oh, what do you give Triple H as a Booker? Yeah, I think right around the same grade that you guys are given. I think absolutely going into his grade is where it was before and what he's done since as far as kind of repairing the ground that was kind of just a complete mess. And I think there is a willingness to there's an understanding now between WWE and the fans again where it's not just like whatever Vince wants and if Vince wakes up one day and decides the day of the pay per view, I want it to go this way. That shit's not happening anymore. Or if it is, it's a little bit more stealthy and a little bit more handled like we're not children and not idiots. So I think having that kind of transparency is so helpful and has really helped him a lot. I do think the new car smell is definitely come off a Triple H I think early on the bar was literally at the earth's core like he could do no wrong. He just had to not be Vince. Now he's been in the seat for a little bit. Now fans are going okay. Let's see where you're taking these pieces that you're repairing. These pieces that you're bringing in and let's see what you can do with them. The bloodline is excellent. The mid card is really good. Bianca's had some of her best views, I think, in this stretch. I agree, I think the SmackDown women's division is an issue that still needs to be resolved, but I think I give the baby a B grade for Triple H here, but I think we've all had the circled. I think this is 2023 Royal Rumble is where we start mania season. This is the test. This is really where we see Triple H's vision. I think you can take those last few months that he's been booking as him kind of laying the groundwork for this mania run. And again, the bar is really low because the mania run last year, we saw the Royal Rumble. It wasn't good. Things went off the rail so fast. This is the time to see like, okay, what is Triple H really got in mind for a WrestleMania event and it starts here. So this is the most intriguing time of year as it always is in wrestling. But especially now, we're really going to be able to have a better idea of what kind of grade and how we feel about Triple H's booking throughout this WrestleMania season. So that's what's crazy, right? He had a last second SummerSlam booking. Yep. And that's really it. Like Survivor Series, it's cool, but I'm not sure if that's like a core for it anymore. It is more money in the bank now. It's trying to turn it back into a corporation. Trying. But the key stretch is Royal Rumble, mania, money in the bank, SummerSlam. Everything outside of that is house money. You got a bucket, however you want. So now is when he has to be already. He could turn that bee into a seat or D she goes left. He could turn that B into an a if he does right by this. So before we continue on, we'll talk raw 30 real quick before we get into the rumble predictions and everything. But this past week, AW, tribute to Jay Briscoe. The tribute package itself was great. Yeah. Great job putting everything together. Tony, however everyone down, I guess we'll find out in the summer when he's here on the desk again. But him fighting to get the briscoes on television. Mark Briscoe, all this. It's great. You know, I think he did right by his core fan base, which is an indie fan base. He's now the owner of ROH, can not ignore that. They meant a lot to that company. And I think the way he handled it and you can never prepare for these things. Horribly, unfortunate. The way he handled it was done right. I mean, he hasn't missed in any of these situations. He doesn't have events on heart moment. The Brody situation, being able to keep that under wraps, respect to the family. I was handled after Brody passed away, Brody's son being involved. Now that the Briscoe situation, he's proven, regardless of what he is as a Booker as the person who runs that company, he's very high strong. All that's he's proven to be a good person. I'm not sure we can say the same bound Vince McMahon, because some people would, we wouldn't. We can't. But I don't think we have those qualms with Tony. There's stuff that he does right. There's stuff that he does wrong, might be too friendly with his kid. But at the end of the day, if you're a good person, you figure the rest out. And sometimes it's just easier to work for a good person. Yeah. I mean, Tony Khan seems like somebody that people would like to work for. I feel like there's two different worlds with AW and WWE where WWE is not it's the corporate structure, but it's like the Vince and everybody else structure and it's the boys club and it's very old school when Vince was there. It was a very old school mentality. Even when you talk about raw 30, you know, the bell is talking about the lack of recognition that went to the Bellas and the women's revolution in their package. It's a byproduct of the Vince era, right? It was a good boys club. It was wrestling that was built on stereotypes. It was, we didn't have a black champion until 2019. I'm not counting The Rock. So Kofi, it was women didn't have a real division until the 2010s. All that history made WWE a very different situation. And it was like an uphill battle for minorities in general. Whereas Tony Khan funnily enough, I remember when we first started, all elite whites, but now you look up and down the card is minorities everywhere. I mean, it's a different company for better or worse. It's kind of like how society has changed. WWE's old mentality and mentality still works in some instances. Whereas AEW's very PC,

"They were about to come in and I said, what are you going to call them? We're going to call them Kevin Nash and Scott hall. And I remember laughing with my friend, they're going to call them like gasoline and philosophy Phil or something like that. And he was like, no, we're Kevin Nash and Scott hall. I remember thinking like, those aren't. Rockstar names. Of course they became rockstar names, but that was Bischoff's thing. Like you said, I'm probably Kevin and Scott's idea whether you can't take these names away from us. This is me. Right. It's very interesting because like I said, there's so much of that intellectual property where guys don't really understand it. You know, like, for example, like the list of Jericho, I used what I use the lexicon, I can't remember what it was. I had to make a list of guys I wanted to fight. And it wasn't called the lexicon of Jericho. It was the lexicon of something rather. And I remember thinking like, are they going to come after me for this? Because I use the kind of a list like thing. And they didn't, but could they have? Because the list of Jericho, I created there, but by proxy of creating it in WWE, it's now there, if they wanted to really push it, they could have because if you remember, I mentioned that when it comes to trademark, it's the similarity of the marks and the relatedness of the goods or services. Right. So let's look at the relatedness of goods and services. It's on wrestling stuff. It's on entertainment. That's identical, right? So now we've got to look at what about the trademarks and so what you're saying is why used synonym. So it's not the same word. It's a different word. So that's very much different. But if you use the lexicon of Jericho, that's a little closer. Like, wait a minute, so it's one word different. They both start with L, they both kind of mean the same thing. They can make a fight out of that. I don't think they would, because again, taz was onesie task Tuesday, different enough. It's hard to stand. Well, like you said, and even like I was thinking like I had Eugene on the show last year and he uses you dash gene. I mean, come on, you can't do that. Yeah. They just choose not to bug them. They choose not to buy it. Yes. They could if they wanted to do it. Because I was even thinking, as we start to wind down with my last book, was the list of the complete list of Jericho. And obviously the list of Jericho is dare I say an iconic prop from the 2016 17 era. But I love the idea of the list of Jericho because it was a list of every match I ever had. The complete list of Jericho, I thought that might be enough. Could they have come after me for that? We've already sold 10,000 books. They can't because you didn't use it in the trademark sense, as silly as that sounds. You can not trademark the title of a book. You can trademark a title of a series of books. So if you've got a one off book, the complete list of Jericho, that's just the name of a title of a book. There's been a lot of books that have the same name. A lot of movies that have had the same name over the years. But when you have a series of books like chicken soup for the soul, chicken soup for the teenage soul, chicken soup for the dog lover soul. That, you can trademark, and they have. They have trademarked that because it's a series of books. But a one off look that's not trademark use. So last couple of things. So how can you have, let's say, for example, the Briscoe brothers, Jerry and Jack, and then you have the briscoes who are brothers, Jay and I remember the other cat's name, but so they're obviously the modern day tag team. Could the Briscoe brothers Jack and Jerry have had a claim against other Briscoe brothers? They could have if they were still actively using the trademark in some sense. So you have to keep using a trade deal. Oh, I see, and that's like, for example, when Kevin Smith and I came up with greens and grains, which was going to be our movie review show. And I trademarked it. And then you said, you haven't used this at all. And then it just goes away, right? Yeah. You can start the process for a trademark based on a quote unquote intent to use. And it goes to the exact same process as if you'd said, hey, trademark office, I'm using it. But eventually it gets to the point where you have to prove use and then you say, well, I can't prove you said I'm going to get an extension. So then you, as you tend to have with government things, you pay a fee, you get another 6 months. And that 6 month expires like, hey Chris, have you guys started using this yet? No, okay, we're going to move forward. With an extension, or are we going to let it go? Well, it's extended. So I think we can end up extending a couple of times. I just don't think we're. We just don't have time. Kevin's busy, I'm busy. Right. Let's let it go. It's Jay and Mark Briscoe, by the way. But the other one I was going to ask about is when the hardy boys came in, I remember first hearing the hardware. I was a big hardy boys fan when I was a kid. Not Matt and Jeff, but Joe and Frank. Kids who solve mysteries also played by Sean Cassidy and Parker Steve Stevenson. So was that okay to use the Briscoe sorry the hardy boys? So you would have had hardy boys who are not people, right? Not real people, not real characters in the sense that they're portrayed by humans. It was a series of books. So you're talking about printed goods, which is whatever class printing good 21, something like this. So that you have hardy boys for printed materials over here. That's protected. That's brand new. That's fine, and you've got hardy boys over here in class 41, entertainment services, professional wrestling and lifestyle..

"Com real faith dot com okay. it's called christian theology versus critical theory. It's important of votes. A balcony has written about this as well that we really understand this and this is a very small book And you're giving away free which is amazing. But i'm kind of amazed that so many in the church are somehow open to these horrible ideas. What do you suppose it is. I guess my theory is that they just don't want to be combative. And they think that's combative. That's maybe mark driscoll. Eric metaxas have a personality to deal with that. I just wanna be nice. I just want to preach the gospel. But the problem is if you don't speak out against something like black lives matter and understand. This is marxism this is not about carrying about other colors. This is this is about harming those people in the name of helping them and you have to confront that but it's a very ugly thing a lot of people i think. Maybe it's not in their personality and they just. They're hoping they can take a pass. I guess that's my. That's my best estimate of why some people are not fighting this. Yeah and what i would say is. There are some who have written on critical race theory. That's one element or application of critical theory. Which is a much bigger issue but most have not hit it from the perspective of spiritual warfare as a christian anna bible teacher for twenty five years teaching through books of the bible. If you believe that satan and demons are real then you have to believe that what is it. Were behind critical theory. And it's a powerful cultural force that has taken over social media it's made its way to throttling platforms. It is brainwashing kids in schools. It is attacking marriage family gender economics politics every area of society. You have to come to the conclusion that behind it are demonic forces at work that this is really god versus satan playing itself out in a very real cultural battle. The first critic in the history of the creation was satan. He looked at god. And god's governance and god's kingdom and said i disagree. I'm going to topple the authority. I'm going to disrupt the order. I am going to change the law. And so what we are seeing is really the war in heaven. Playing out on the critic has come to earth and he wants to dismantle authority and god's presence in every sphere of society and so for the christian of what you say is. I don't do conflict. what you're saying. Is i do welcome the demonic. I like the way you put it because that unfortunately is exactly correct. Wh i really feel that something happened to the church over the decades where we forgot that fighting for truth and justice and for those who are oppressed biblical value fighting is value. I think we've forgotten. We thought that we could just i. I think people kind of come up with this idea that they think that i can just love somebody into the kingdom as though that might not entail fighting for what is right or true and obviously you're saying that you know you can't you can't really be neutral because it spiritual and i love the fact that you're saying this is spiritual warfare because sometimes we've got a call a spade. This is the monarch and the way it has crept into everything so quickly us. I'm tempted to see it. As as an anti christ's spirit or really almost as an end time Anti christ spirit because none of us has seen anything like this in our lifetime. Certainly not in the west. Yeah i would fully totally completely agree. It's like why is it so powerful. Why was it so sudden. Why is it taken over. Every area of academia. Why is it made. Its way into our kids classroom. why is it made. Its way into what bathroom we can go into. Is it affected everything we do. It is because it is a demonic force and satan is always seeking to establish himself as the highest authority in every single spear and realm. And right now. He's got media got politics economics behind him and in the age of social media. Now what we have is we have the ability to brainwash people at the most rapid pace in the history of the world and with kovin and things being shut down and people living online and being filled with fear and then joining in the rage of the day. It just accelerated and exacerbated i think a demonic cult-like brainwashing of an entire planet and the bible does talk about in the last days delusions and deceptions and people being led astray. I'm one hundred percent. Convince that that's exactly what we are seeing. It's interesting i think. Even a lot of christians. They shrink away from the idea of spiritual warfare that they think everything can happen in the intellectual realm the realm of ideas. But we're talking about something it does you can sorta smell it. It has a force. It's nasty it's ugly and it has just metastasis metastasized into every part of culture. That's what i find so extraordinary. And that's why i'm glad you don't just deal with critical race theory in this book. Folks you can get a free copy and real faith dot dot com dot com. You'll stay shutdown. Algae versus critical theory. Yeah you deal. With critical theory gives us the thirty second view of witted critical theory. Come from does it come from the frankfurt school. Does it come from graham. She i mean. Is this just cultural marxism in our time. Yes as a short answer. Yes it does start. In germany at moves out it does come out of frankfort that is ultimately what is happening. But what happens in marxism. The effort is made to create heaven on earth without god and it's replacing god with government and it's the human vision of heaven. It's not god's vision of heaven and so this is playing itself but that is very spiritual. Of course marxism is eight. Theistic it is it is not godly or honoring of the word of god in any way. And so this is a counterfeit. We're going to leave it there. But you have you've wrapped it up. It's beautiful folks. Christian theology versus critical theory. Get a free copy at real faith. "Be it network. What else we have here. Oh yeah next. Of course brad hart versus terry funk. Which if you've seen the show from texas or i have actually if you've seen Let's move thinking beyond the that right. Yeah that's that's the show. That's the one that's the one dentist stamp wasn't booked for originally Yes and we'll see i. I'm guessing we don't get the lengthy argument backstage where both bret hart and terry funk refused to win the match. Yeah that's Yeah it's it's it's it's a lot it's a good match a lot of fun From up w and i'm guessing they have up w footage which. I don't know how much of it they have but All pro wrestling william regal versus samoa. Joe this one. This one. I didn't know existed You know and. I'm pretty big wrestling nerd and i was aware of. Up w I believe in where world johnson also came from. So i i think i reviewed one of their. Dvd's once in the torch. But yeah. i mean didn't know this. Magic i yeah so this is a real nice surprise for me. you know. He does look like it was shot on you. Know a step up above a camcorder. But it's really really cool. Joe joe than through ring of honor of course and He came back in twenty fifteen and you know to see kind of working started from and and to where he is. Now it's it's a cool journey and the amazing part is he must have been the best kept secret in pro wrestling For quite some time. And i realized that when he got to bring honor and he was already five or six years in But i'm not sure what anybody was waiting for before that you know i. I realized he lived in california and the big companies. Where in new york and philly and and nashville at the time but So maybe maybe just transportation was expensive but man he. He had it for quite some time. You know hopefully out of the gate and It's just amazing to watch this and to see to see him back then and And then wonder why you know wonder why it took so long because he just phenomenal phenomenal. Guy Yeah actually there's a. There's a pretty much a whole. Dvd full of similar joanne. Up w footage when they were still calling out. We're calling him samoan joe for the first several matches. Yeah so i i i i'm not sure what the holdup was but Glad we're getting it and finally From florida championship wrestling. Seth rawlins defending the fcw title against cash. Oh now and again this is another thing where you know. They have the fcw library You've probably seen scattered episodes of. Fcw up on youtube. But yeah i mean this is. This is fun to watch. It's kind of you know It's kind of like if you if you watch chris. Hero and tyler black and random on her similar to that it is. What's always interesting to me was You know my brother lives in orlando. So when i go to visit This would air. I believe on the remnants of the sunshine network which became fox sports orlando or fox. Sports something and So yeah i used to. I used to catch this and It's pretty fun and then but it's like you mentioned though it's kind of just the next extension of something. You may have seen in in ring of honor which is pretty neat and i i like the i like the callback. I like the i like all that kind of stuff and you know chris. Hero just phenomenal talent You know another guy that i personally would love to see back in random hunter You know he's but he you know he's doing really well for himself. Continues to do really well from south america and across the globe but this is a fun match. I saw this actually when it aired But i'm glad that they put it up there because it's pretty cool. It's a good match Actually speaking of the speaking of guys coming to ring of honor the one. I guess i should ask you about is Cody rhodes supposed to be coming to the final battle in december this year. He is And that is. That's a huge huge huge. Get an opportunity for of honor. You know a a guy talented. This creative is cody rhodes. I'm looking forward to meeting him. In new york we return to the hammerstein ballroom for the first time. And i believe three years and for big seminal paper view the final battle and december second. You know he can just bring so much the table. Great wrestler You know you you saw the different ways he could be creative with with stardust with you know just the ways that you know. He's able to be himself dashing. Well well even even that you know. He's he's just a guy that that is always running at one hundred and ten percent and and you can tell and i'm curious to see you know who he's going to face in ring of honor. I mean off the top of my head i can. I can list probably fifteen or twenty opponents and That that he he could have a great match with right outta the gate and You know the list goes on you. Could you know you can see what we compete for the world championship against adam cole. Adam cole's on the list. I don't know if you remember the list but the list. I know i remember less. Yeah yeah and something to see i. I'm sure adam cole wouldn't mind that no not at all. And the him versus. Jay lethal him versus jay briscoe versus mark briscoe christopher daniels frankie. 'cause aryan You know put him in a tag team match. Put against the young bucks. War machine Jeez like the the possibilities are endless. I just an amazing. You know an amazing thing that you coming to ring of honor okay. We have to take our last time out of the of the day Back on saturday morning wrestling with In riccobono of ringer five one. Five six five nine three four or five is how you reach us in one other thing i wanted to get to which is also on the network also been added over the past couple of weeks. Good question free and is there any one question you know what immediately and is doing when she does the triangle at the i have a little luminosity but does that mean something else. Ha yeah so mandy mandy first and I do think perhaps that that some of the imagery that she's trying to convey i. I do think maybe it does have to do with the all seeing i Mandy is very proud of her background. And and You know she incorporates. A lot of the A nomadic type spirit And and things into her character We call the. I'm sorry yeah well to say for sure. I don't know for sure but I do. I do know that. That's a supposedly. I've watched the watch youtube videos. They do know the symbol of the all seeing eye as well and ought to ask her about that. That's a great question And i know. It's on her shirts as well and pro wrestling tees. And i never i've known mandy for so long now that i never had thought to ask her about it. But it's definitely something that's It's an interesting part of of who she is. So yeah and also he's not giving out mandy cell phone network all cell phone number. We've all for that. So i'm sorry i you think she gave it to me and i don't even have it so well there. You go all right anything else ryan. My question is do you see any other old school wrestlers coming to ring a blender besides kevin sullivan. Oh man so that's a great question you know. Ring of honor is an amazing locker room and You know kevin sullivan has has found a way to link himself with with bj. Whitmer and steve carino and My answer is i hope so You know strange. Kevin sullivan can be He you can also learn quite a bit From kevin sullivan and it was definitely a personal career. Highlight to be able to do an interview with him. You know for the and call match that. He ended up being a part of the pay per view. The so you know. I know that in the past you know jerry lynn. Who's been a big part of our organization both as a wrestler and somebody who comes back You know perhaps. He isn't as old school as as kevin sullivan. But you know. I would hope so you know. We thought it was the coolest thing in the world that bob eaton came by so every once in a while you know some of the some of the legendary folks legendary wrestler stop buying and share some knowledge or just in the show You never know. Who's going to pop up but i certainly hope so. 'cause i you know i learned more from about eating in five seconds than i had you know in a couple of months before that so i certainly hope folks i can tell by the eating and so on continue to swing by anything else from my question is are you the only student that threatening the walk out of state ever gyp attorney to issue or they're more than you you know. I don't know for sure I really respect and status the educational institute and All my experiences with with the faculty and such have been great and You know. I wouldn't have selected penn state from my post grad stuff if i hadn't done my research and whatnot I did see a few articles pop up in terms of other folks that that may be thinking the same thing but You know but at this time you know. I'm just as focused on my post grad stuff and I think i'll root for the university of pennsylvania right now instead of penn's penn's got a good shot and that's that's my graduate. All my my undergrad all. Nyu they they don't have a football team. So they're they're leaving me Empty at the altar but But yeah i. I respect penn state as a As an educational institute. I respect the football team as well I just wish that you know they would recognize the accomplishments of maybe the students that have played on the football team instead. Fair enough okay ryan. They were looking to get the actual impact version of a to use for aws. I'd be fine. Just use the e version. "Got back was. Give me a bit of a preview. What you'll be hearing on next week's friday morning. Marco that was love motor from right here in sunny saint. John's thing for land from their album better not included with destiny's woman before that gore city hall. Who did this song specifically for his close personal friend dan hausen. You're listening to wrestling. Fan born ronin during rest right aeronautic and the ever podcast sharing sources like iheartradio and sicher and i tunes and after their epic fight on the firm. Jay briscoe are back and the same page and ready to go after their twelfth aero each world taking titles. but not so fast said papa. I go to patriarch. Told his sons that they need to start at the bottom and work their way. Back into title contention briscoes face a tough test early in their quest when they take on the dare wolf who jay black and the meko brian johnson. At best new orleans the seems fathomable but the briscoes have not won a tag team match since november of two thousand twenty and a three match losing streak. Black and johnson also have their sights set on becoming. Tag team champions. They haven't team together in nearly a year and a half but black who recently returned to action after being sidelined with severe ankle injury and spending some time in all wrestling told his protege he had a vision of them. Becoming tag team champions. Will the reunited briscoes returned to their winning ways or we'll black and johnson shot the world reunited infield so good. Well i guess. I wouldn't make a lot of sense i guess to have. I mean from the story. Line sort of perspective to have the briscoes lose their first match. Trying to get back into contention for the tiles even if they don't ultimately window titles they don't really wanna lose the first match so very leaks. I suspect they're going to win. This first match seems a natural conclusion. They rate ec. Three and mercenary flip. Gordon have done business together and have been reluctant tag team partners but they have never been friends at the papery one sunday at chesapeake employers insurance arena in baltimore the former a world champion and former army national guardsmen will be opponents during ec. Three's rivalry with jay briscoe. The essential character hired gordon to 'cause jay and brother mark briscoe to lose number contenders tag team match in february. That incident led to the earliest board of directors making match pitting two former and x three and new japan wrestler against the risk goes a few months later by that time. Sc three and jay briscoe had earned each other's respect so nielsen's say he wasn't happy when learning that flip had used a chain on mark to secure victory e. c. three confronted gordon in the ring a couple of weeks later and delivered an ominous four-letter. Presage you have been warned. In addition to this match being personal it also could have implications for the rail runner world title richer. Flip has owned a title shot and is number three to kern rankings. The former derrick bateman recently stated at his mission is to become row each world. Champion will ec three score and essential victory or will the mercenary shootdown ec. Three's a title hopes. Either i think going to be a solid match with a lot of solid strikes and you may be solid state to for their decided to play video games to decide find round or something so that was dumb. Anyway if mike bennett is going to win the pure title he's going to have to do something. No one has ever done in ring of honor defeat jonathan gresham in a pure rules match. Bennett will challenge him for the championship at the best in the world view on july. Eleven in baltimore the og k. Member doesn't know whether his opponent with aggressive or firday high until this past weekend when graham successfully defended his title against the challenger gresham is now ten. Oh and pule rules. Matches and ring of honor. Bennett is new to the fewer division. He earned his title. Shot by winning. A seven-man pure match in which he defeated world famous. Cb joe keys and pj black in succession. Gresham has been blanche regarding how he feels about benefits. Competing appear division which she considers his vision to champion said. He doesn't respect benef- because mike hasn't earned his respect. The former mike canals come in. Wwe don't know said he doesn't respect wrexham but added at this. Master's bigger than champion bennett. Said this is about his legacy and redemption while a highly motivated bennett. Pull off the upset or will it be another notch in gresham's belt which is pure. I guess anyway so usually when it comes to title defense. I will err on the side of a successful title defense because it's just easier for champion to defend in it is for challenger to win it and especially when to champion is somewhat underhanded. Although this is the kind of match it requires you to not be underhanded so as to be underhanded a belt being underhanded or has to be just as good as people who call rick flair the ultimate. He'll will say he did. We hated him because he was so good and we loved him because he was so good. And yeah and then. They cry like A female dog wink with the skinned knee. About how all these modern heels don't know how to be a he'll but you know you're talking negative about them so that's kind of what a heels job is to make you not like them if you like. If you don't like my opinion on that regard. And i suggest you sit on a swivel while you suffer to me suffer.

"What they've uploaded hog. Wild and i am not sure the year on this version of hog wild. But it's got hogan mayhem. New blood rising sin so all all from the dead era of wcw or the near death era of wcw and then also the bunk house stampede from one thousand nine hundred eighty eight which sucked in the wwf torpedoed as a pay per view capital combat. Nine hundred ninety which had robocop and that pretty much sucked to there was doom in the steiner's on there but that suck battle bowl from nineteen ninety three with awesome kong in the equalizer which also sucked and then there's the shy town rumble with ric flair and ricky steamboat. Don't know how that fits don't know why. But i guess if you have to take one. There's the one that you take. But i know. Brian complained about the network on the brian and vinnie. Show last night i. I can't even remember what they were watching. I know he said during wwl. It was going to be some sort of wcw saturday night. Show because there are some random wcw. Saturday nights up there from the watts. Only anderson era of just just suck the to there. But yeah that's the network for you. So that is what it is and that's all for that in you know we're going to have to talk about it coming up on the show you know as it goes along certainly for for wrestlemainia here coming up but hopefully that's all i got all that off my chest. Now i'm done with it. So old man can stop yelling at the cloud here so i did get a chance to see the river show like i mentioned the nineteenth anniversary show campus a. Unbc in canes ville maryland outside of baltimore and he was awesome. It really was a good show. Nine nine thousand nine honor club. That's what it is a month. I think it was nineteen ninety nine if you bought on the fight. Apple bought with traditional pay per view. But look i. This is one of those ones where i would go out of your way. Look if you got the extra ten bucks and you're jones in the to put it somewhere and watch a little bit of wrestling this. This was a really good show because it moved forward ring of honor as far as new groups. And all that sorta stuff it started with the the free our pre show that had a four way with brian. Johnson Defeating ls g. Eli and dan housing and supposedly this is gonna move him up. The ro hdtv title rankings. Probably replacing ice number five which showed on a graphic earlier on the other match on there was a rematch of tv match from a few weeks ago. Between shane. taylor promotions in the mexico. Squad and shane taylor. Promotions retain the titles Sos teamed with taylor and they were pushed strongly on commentary and the result established. What would become the theme of the show which was the erosion of team chemistry and winds of change and the mexico squad after the match. They all beefed with each other They did go both during the match and afterwards and after he lost bandido nfl amita started to get into it Horace suggested that they all faced each other later on. And that's what happened which led to the match that i'll talk about in a little bit that a lot of people are talking about that that watch the show. It's opened up though the pay per view portion with kenny king defending the title on behalf dragging lee Who couldn't travel he faced tracy. Williams king was defending the title under protest. He said and that was the play stories later on good match. Good way to start the show. Williams got the victory. Amy rose slid kings tag title into the ring for to us when he didn't need the help and he hesitated before he grabbed it and then went down. Four went to pick it up and williams scoop them up and had a good-looking piledriver for win. You know you see piledriver so much now is like transitions and stuff like that. But hit a solid win for the win. Their flip gordon defeated mark. Briscoe was another. It was getting another solid match Flip kicked him blow. Hit the flip five for the win there and he also still has a world championship. That's going to coming to him down the line. So he's still got that in his back pocket then. It was dalton castle defeating josh woods. Silence young in young had this wacky student teacher relationship for a while with silence trying to teach him the ways of the last real man and finally he had enough. Tried to get Woods to cheat in this match. Try to set up a chair and wanted to woods the to sit. Don't castle in the chair and take him out. He didn't do that then. He refused the chair getting in the ring when when silas offered to them again and when the referee's back was turned and was divas distracted silas went ahead and hit him with the chair and that was that the castle gets victory and silence. Cut a promo on and afterwards and that's that's going to be one of your next few coming up. Then it was jay briscoe ec three and you heard. Ec three on the show last friday. These guys refuting over a handshake and made a compelling and the match started with a pissed off jay refusing ec. Three's handshake towns Just wanting to throw blows adam. Finally ec three has enough and opened up on. His offense was running his mouth. Old time. two-tone jada russell them. They were going back and forth j. Hurt his left knee on a dive to the outside so we see three began to work that but throughout the match no matter what j. Through at ec three you three three kept mocking him until finally beat down. Enough where ec three extended his hand and not only that finally look jay briscoe in the eye and as brian said yesterday on the show and He's been hyping up because he liked the match a lot as he does he pulls him up. Hits them with the j. Driller gets the pin. The shake hands afterwards. And that was that. And i've seen a couple of people right that and win a little bit too long. I don't agree at all. I thought it went just the right time. You know they gave ec three a couple comebacks. I thought it was good stuff. A bandido fla meteorite. Horace don't know what to say about this. There was some incredible spots in this match. Bay nido sat on lameda shoulders in an electric chair position and deliver a superplex horace. There was the one from twitter that everybody has seen where it was. Oh man was bandidos on lameda amita shoulders in an electric chair and horses on the top rope and horst himself with the body press. Bandido still has his legs on lameda shoulders. F lameda goes flipping over to gives himself a poison. Ron and the damnedest the absolute jammed thing can't believe he didn't break his neck but not long. After that benito got victory. everybody still hates each other. It looks like meat is going to be the big. He'll let us know what happened on the rest of the card coming up but there are a lot of big changes in our o agent. Get the as what's coming up with. Wwe back from break attention to anyone.
