GonNa get some ideal thing where all can one hundred percent picked up and even with you pay, he's going to work out for you. It's not. So the dark side of money and morale Leah Arts is going to be putting more money than you ever get back. It's no different contests. And don't forget. "And there's a feel for that and I'll will not make fun of those I respect anybody their rights. They're one of the few people that you can actually write manuals and believe that make income at believe that accident income well, enough that you can live on. Family on it. That's really the writing at you love about. In. Ginkel. Do nothing wrong with that, but you have to understand something. Somebody at the technical riders at the same thing as somebody has a commercial ride or you've been Literali. This is somebody that is invested in that particular field. Medical Weight Engineering of Chemical Computer. So in many ways they are. and. In some cases they actually are. It just don't want to go out and do engineering and the classical way rather just write about it by making a manual, make a lot of money for themselves and they can still say that few they might not. They might want to save more homebound. Maybe, they have the official situation at you know. Doing something else I. Don't know all the reasons why but I knew a few of them at least. And it's completely accessible it's the same kind of writer. Because the the knowledge they have in particular field is enormous for them to be able to do that. So it's a it's a select group, but it's one of few places that you can do it. Yeah you can do a whole lot of commercial writing. I mean now if it's possible for them to sustain you and if you can do that as a couple of places where you put down within fifteen hundred words I I think at ten statements about ten different reasons. Top Ten reasons why you know more Cellini was a Weirdo or top ten reasons why bees or your friend they have only Shane's topics that people actually research. They write that up, they send it in one hundred dollars for it. I mean technically, if you write enough for these things, they like what you're doing and you feel you gotta will swing on that. You can do that I know some people that do that part time and do other writings well, and altogether this is much how they do things always actually south in the end this is one of the biggest problems with the more elysium money or even just the presence of money into arts is even on the good side of things. Okay. Is that all you doing it for? Because, once you get stuck in that pattern. This is where you make your money from. you happy doing that? Do you love the things you WANNA do? I know. So right is that do this and they just come apart but I mean people including you marks his job but you know particularly like, but you do it anyway because you need the money to support yourself and your family. Yeah. Does it sure I'm retired? I'm still working because it's necessary. s that's just the way it works..

"As soon as the Romans docked in the port, they would be able to storm the gates and conquer the city. And kill its leaders Antony had very little time left and he knew he wished to spend it at Cleopatra's side. Antony returned to Cleopatra's palace and demanded to know the Queen's location. That's when a messenger arrived to break the terrible news. Cleopatra. Had died by suicide. Antony's army had betrayed him and his lover was dead. He had nothing left. So he decided to join Cleopatra in the afterlife he ordered his loyal. Guard arrows to stab him in the stomach. In Ancient Rome falling on your own sword to evade defeat was an honorable act but arrows could not bear to kill his commander. So Arrows stabbed himself instead. Bewildered and desperate. Antony realized he'd have to do this on his own. He gripped his sword and plunged it into his ribs failing to pierce his heart. Antony bled out onto the palace floor but was still conscious when a few of Cleopatra Servants were said to have found him. They delivered stunning News Cleopatra was still alive. Earlier news of her death was ally and some believe it was one told by Cleopatra herself her critics believe it was because she struck a deal with Octavian and needed antony out of the picture. Her champions insisted that she hoped Antony would escape and save himself. If he had nothing left to fight for either way for a dying Mark Antony, it didn't matter he loved Cleopatra and he wanted to spend his final moments by her side Mark Antony died in his lover's arms on. August. I thirty B C E. Several days later, Cleopatra Actually did die by suicide to avoid Octavian Wrath. Antony and Cleopatra. Deaths were the tragic conclusion to an epic romance but there are questions about the story's validity. Some historians believe the lovers were actually murdered by Octavian Forces Antony's men did betray him and one theory is that a deserter killed him to curry favor with Octavian similarly Greek and Roman historians were responsible for popularizing the idea that Cleopatra died by suicide while Octavian held her captive it's not inconceivable that Octavian took her out instead which would make. Antony and Cleopatra's deaths to of history's most famous unsolved murders regardless of how it happened. There's no doubt that the battle of Alexandria and Mark Antony's ensuing death changed the world forever Octavian conquered Egypt renamed himself Augustus and became the first true emperor of Rome if Antony and Cleopatra had survived history of Rome and the world might have played out quite differently. We'll never know what that world would have looked like. But history will always remember how hard mark. Antony. To make it a reality. "Fifty three year old Mark Antony and his army race to the outskirts of the bustling city of Alexandria. Antony was determined to beat back Roman forces before they stormed the city even though the army he was about to fight was once his arm. Earlier in life Antony was a close friend of Roman leader Julius Caesar until Caesar's assassination in forty four BC e Antony then became one of three new Roman co-leaders. The second was Lepres a statesman of Caesar's roam. The third was Caesar's teenage great nephew Octavian who would become Antony's mortal enemy octavian wasn't a warrior like Antony but he was a cunning politician after Anthony's Roman, wife died octavian arranged a marriage between his sister Octavia and Antony in forty BC E it was an effort to keep him in line as Octavian was deeply concerned about Antony's affair with the Foreign Queen Cleopatra. Antony and Cleopatra a notoriously passionate fling and by forty BC Antony spent most of his time in Egypt. Instead of in Rome Antony having a mistress wasn't a scandal in itself but Cleopatra posed a unique problem for Octavian. She was his uncle Caesar's mistress and very possibly had a child with him. That child had a claim to the Roman throne as did the two sons Cleopatra had with Antony. By thirty, two BC e Octavian declared war against Cleopatra and Antony sided with her she was the world's most powerful woman and together they could easily beat Octavian and rule the Mediterranean or so Antony thought. Octavian, forces were stronger than expected and by thirty B C e Antony and Cleopatra were holed up in her Egyptian palace waiting for the inevitable they fought often drank heavily and even considered betraying each other and allying with. Octavian. If it meant they would survive. But. Octavian had no interest in a secret truce. He took his massive army on a journey across the sea to Egypt, and on July thirty first, he arrived outside the gates of Alexandria the battle was on. Antony and Octavian men clashed ferociously in the summer heat but for once, Antony. Had A little luck on his side. Octavian men had made the long journey towards Alexandria all summer conquering Cleopatra's coastal territories. As they went back time they got to the capital the hot days and bloody skirmishes had taken their toll. Octavian had lost many of his men and the survivors no longer fought with the same vigor Antony's troops meanwhile had the advantage of fighting on their home turf. Account suggests the thousands of soldiers from both sides lost their lives that day but Antonis men managed to drive Octavian army back to its camp. That evening Akaki Mark Antony Strode into Cleopatra's palace with the swagger of champion though he was dusty and sweaty from battle. The first thing he did was kiss Cleopatra and call for a wine drenched celebration. While his men drank anthony had a messenger deliver a proposal to Octavian. Antony challenged Octavian to a one on one duel to decide the wars victor it would put a quick honorable end to all the bloodshed and end Anthony felt confident would be in his favor octavian he knew was more of a thinker than a fighter. However Octavian was aware of his limitations to he responded with a prompt refusal and he added a threat. There were a multitude of ways in which Antony could die. Octavian response was one of few developments that shattered the triumphant veneer of Antony's victory late on July thirty first Antony learned that some of his soldiers had defected to Octavian side despite their recent win they felt that Octavian ultimate victory was inevitable and they wanted to be on the right side of history. The night also brought news that Octavian forces intended to attack again this time by sailing into Alexandria. Antony urged his remaining loyal soldiers to have one last drink. The next day's battle would be a bloody one. Up Next Antony plans a last ditch effort to save Alexandria and suffers a heartbreaking betrayal. "Host author and play Ride Mark Antony Rossi this show explores all forms of creativity for those searching for meaning and a place in the world. To Air as human, let so is to love now without further ADO, here's your host. A. I folks and welcome back to strength to be human I'm your host Mark Candy Rousey, poet-playwright host of this show and. Big Thinker about. Anything literary. Now this episode is GonNa Episode One hundred and thirty one. It's going to be titled Art as a Defense Against Madness. Yes, I know, it's GonNa be an interesting one. I use the exact title us from one of my essays in the S I put together a series of essays about different thoughts of writing and I don't. Work as good as as a show, because has allowed different parts to it, and and has a lot of questions involved in. Maybe some answers is relations that we can learn about the world in through art. So I thought it'd be very interesting to do, and I've heard enough commentary already. Found folks out there right now, especially with some of the things that are going on in in my country in America at the moment that. Maybe. We need to look a little bit after that I'd ourselves as well. And can help do that. It's not a perfect solution. It's not always the the the most excellent instrument. To help improve yourself the learn something about the world, but it sure does help because any any good art is about communication whether you communicate in to yourself and learning things about yourself oh. Maybe possibly you're translating all of that into something that you're sending out there in the world to communicate to the world, but in the end. All good. His a form of communication. Heck it's a it's a form of self expression. Some say that what all art is supposed to be is a former except for expression. I'm little on the border on that because I think it has many different fastest in just that. So yes, said that that has to be an important thing self-expression, but. It has to be the purest. Meaning of through of discovery in true freedom, and you talk about your your life or your good truth to or your perceptions out there and unfortunately in many cases now. Especially in America in Europe self expression is now loaded with all kinds of political terms, all kinds of jargon and all kinds of agendas so in, and you're not getting self-expression. Because how can you express yourself? If everybody's trying to beat you into, say the same thing to think the same thing while to me. That's not freedom. That's conformity at to me. That's nonsense so therefore. It's not self expression so when you do things like that. You're not you're not committing yourself to argue committee self to propaganda and just tone the line, so whatever group? You WanNa be a part of whatever group you'd think. You're afraid of wherever group is intimidate you. That's not art. Art is about freedom. Yes, it is about self expression, and definitely aren't is about discovery..

Genuine. Exposure and promoter of anything literature I mean that's what I do here. I love it. We're doing another interview segment. With. Donald Mace now. In this particular show, it's only going to be another interview of Donald Makes, but also it's going to be. I guess you could say a semi topic about. Romances and I don't mean like Romance novels, but the concept of Romanticism. We're GONNA. Talk about that. We'll talk about some of the new development he's had you know he's now a columnist with aero chart as well. The magazines that I run so the new things since almost a year that we had spoke with Donald. Thank you very much for being on again. Mark It's great as everybody knows. That tell them as probably scheduling I. It can be a grueling thing. And It's always a blessing then because you never know when someone's going to finally get on because. When you have people of goodwill who want to be on the show still scheduling conflicts, this is nothing you can do about it sometimes between yours mind the world what you're GonNa, do but when it happens, it happens and we. We hope that the result is something that's going to educate people, and maybe in a way of bless them. So, okay mic we were going to talk about the the piece I wrote causal called the romance writer Yes. And I. Think there was a lot of confusion regarding that and I think that's because. People are more familiar with currents. Current novels which the Romance Novels of course which you know. Sort of. Period, romance and things of that nature now. But I was looking at when I read this piece. Was the classical romanticism and I think that we probably need to. Take a look be defined that for some of the people so that when we move on later and actually read, the peak is on air. The people will understand it. Okay, it's not. A romance novel. It's not erotica which I do. Ride radical by the way they used to fascinating subject. But. That's not what it is. It's classical romance. And I only do as go to define what. Co- Romanticism is and. I'm going to read this directly out of the Miriam. Webster Dictionary So. This is what classical romanticism is in literary, artistic and Philosophical Movement originated..

"Hi folks welcome back to sent to be human? Does your host Mark Antony mousy poet and playwright? So they wouldn't be to in an episode called character. In a writer. It'd be episode. One hundred and twenty nine. I know they're really moving up there. It's always excited to. The see that every time I say the number. Which of course is in Sioux Quench Order? You know it still. It's still can be an amazing thing that you know we're able to continue on. Does. Bother an an and go. Even farther from here. I'm pretty I'm pretty excited and thank you very much for being with me on this. Journey to saying. Now. You could probably because we'll talk a lot about the submission segment of all this, but I didn't WanNa. Call the show character in submission. Even though a lot of it has to do with that because this downcycle really good title, and it might be completely confusing. At least character ride to make some sense. Now What we're going to talk about on this particular show, and in various pieces, in and segments of it, as we go along is all the various things that you should be doing it in terms of practice of preparing and also obscene maintenance, and how that increases your success, but also. How it really turns you into the writer that you should become because unfortunately too. Many are writers out there. They don't really have a lot of guidance in this area and we we still. and. I don't know if it'll ever change, but we still live in a society over here. We're a character. It doesn't seem to be a real real component of of people anymore. Now they they don't have the right agenda. They don't see the right word, or you know where the right outfit is. Something that you know their bad which to me, it's a whole new form of bigotry to to be worrying about all that superficial stuff rather than the things that should be coming from your integrity should become an from your upbringing should become an from your heart. But on unfortunately, we have too many folks that that is not the case and and some of that..

"And because of the way, I particularly work. That poem will eventually see the light of day and get submitted someplace. Because I'll continue to work on it versus having a couple cool lines. I might like maybe even a paragraph of something that strong about without a title. It could sit in the notebook until we have a Burger King on the moon. You know I mean. For some reason I don't care about it as much. Why I do this ritual, what the misery! It is who the hell knows I don't even know Kay. I'm just telling you. That's how it happens for me. And this is why I do it this way. But titles mattress because this is with Mark Antony Rossi says because this is how he goes about things they matter because again. They are your first connection to the audience to the reader. And if it's something Corny, if it's something that's misleading it for something that's ridiculous if it's something that's simply is unpatriotic, which I cannot believe how many times I get titles at our unpatriotic. You're a damn poet. This supposed to be a frigging poem. How's your title sound like like like you just read off a colgate bottle of something. Come on now. It shouldn't be stale and boring. And here is the irony of it all. Okay, the in credulity overall. The Palm tends to. Be Pretty Damn good. When I see that combination. The first thing I say to myself is editor is his somebody that has even damn daughter. By the title they worked on the poem. It came up pretty damn good I'm happy with it as editor until I see the Title I'm like Oh Christ. What is this so obvious to me that they came up with the title at the last minute after dump, the poem rusted off and went on to something else. This is where you fail, okay. Because I'm telling you right now I don't give a crap if you give me eighteen excellent lines in the title sucks. The poems gone out the window. It's not gonNA work for me. Second Work from publication I'm not going to allow it. Now unlike many other editors out there. I'll actually kate with people because we don't do form letters in aerial chart. We don't do any of that nonsense, okay? I'll simply say. Listen I like this poem. This title sucks. This title is not poetic. This titles Cliche I can't tell you. How many different times I'd say it. Every so often I have to say sucks, believe or not, because it's his dad horrible. Get offended. Sometimes you never get back to me. Sometimes he do oh well. But I give them a chance. The come up with something better. The gasoline zinc of something rather than just throwing some junk on there. And then they could bring it back to me and if it's really good and I'm comfortable with it I'll publish their home so in many ways it's it's less rejection and more of like. Listen Man. Why don't you rethink this and get back to me? And Tell You something folks. Almost always. I. Won The publishing the poem? But you'd be surprised. How many people actually the go back there?.
