"Class i mean every time you tune into the ufc you're watching absolute best in the world Funny and patty the batty who has become one of everybody's favorite humans the scouser with the incredible accident. I think he was burning a marlboro right on the front porch last night instagram. You don't. He ate punches and we had him on the show and he actually said he was waiting to get to the ufc because he didn't think he was ready at. He didn't think it was writing. Then he comes in there in one of his weapons is like just eating punches. His face is a weapon in for you. That has to be a dream right whenever you have a guy like that and whenever you have other fighters is that what the contender series is who could potentially be lightning for us. Who could potentially going to be champion. And when you see a guy like patty how resist the urge of not being like all right. Let's and put this guy. Let's go to england and put this guy in a main event. Like how do you resist that urge when you know when it's right and when it's not yeah well obviously gotta look at the record. You gotta look at who. They fought their last couple of fights. And then you bring them in. And there's only one way to find out who's really ready who's not and nothing is more perfect and finding out if somebody's ready or not than the contender series whenever people come fight in the contender series. Are they under the impression that they could win a ufc contract because everybody remembers the ultimate fighter. That was a game changer. The ultimate fighter was a game changer. I mean i think that introduced a may to people that maybe would have never got into it because it's more of a reality show plus there's fights in there so i thought it was great. Do people go into the contender series with the mindset. Like hey we're going to get you contract. If we went on the other side you know what we call it. The ultimate job interview. You know you come in and you have to perform and the other thing that i love about it. Is that the amount of pressure. But these fighters are under. That's the other thing. Can you handle the pressure of being here and performing under this unbelievable amount of pressure so it is the perfect formula to find out who's ready. Who's not hey whenever you have like billionaires row almost at every. Ufc event is seems like on the hard camera side. Obviously there's just a slew of people who have been very successful in their life. It's become the new like hey if you mg k. And megan fox. And then travis and courtney and it's become the new thing the thing to be at. Ufc fights is that something you did on purpose or is this them reaching out to you as fan saying hey. Is there any way i can get in there. I assume that's not an easy ticket to give out or to get in. If you piss somebody off. I assume there's a little bit of a dance. And that whole thing. Dana or no well people reach out and people reach out and ask for tickets. Yeah so there's there's three different sections so billionaires row. Is that the mcgregor fight. So the last mcgregor fight. You'll see the section behind me where i said that. That's that's my section right there guy off to the left where you see the fighters with where they're all sitting and you know guys will walk up to the adriana walk in there's fighters there so when connor fought i had to cut the media section in half and adult what was called billionaires row in the three rows there. We're all billionaire so that's pretty good for business. Yeah that's good for business. Duncan is good news over there. When you think of like a conor mcgregor and then you see like sugar. Sean is gaining. Some buzz in. Patty has some buzz. You need that. That is something that needs in. Are you always trying to build those. Do you watch like wwe to see like how did you learn anything for wwe or is that kind of the fighters. Connor is an incredible promoter. Sugar sean is an incredible promoter. Patties and incredible promoter. Is that kind of on them. You think or is it kind of like a partnership to build these megastars do create these billionaire road type situations. Yeah so what happens. Is you know. Obviously we're looking the first and foremost thing that we're looking for talent. Can you find your. Are you good enough. Can you fight then if you have the personality of one of those type of guys just just a home run and obviously You know we know how strongly all we know How many people are watching. You know i go through the ratings and break down. Every single hour of the fights l. And we know who pops in who doesn't so There's a lot of a lot of things that are involved in going into figuring out where somebody is placed on the card and how they drop. Do you want to lead off with taught in the end with he. Is that kind of the plan. When you're want to open the show with a pop and hopefully the show the end with the pop. And what i'm looking for is when i put on a fight card i'm looking for three or four holy shit moments where everybody whether you're at the arena. You're at home. Everybody jumps out of their seat listening with all these six. That whole you know that energy. That happens with that moment. I'm looking for three or four. Those per card deals lawler going to give you at least to have feels like that is obviously infocomm scale. Obviously go ahead ty. We're talking to dana white. Obviously thank you for your time. Right now dana dana. Obviously you guys have the events at t. mobile or mgm and all. That kind of stuff. Are there any plans to have. Maybe like a year end card at allegiance stadium and also like. Have you noticed any more of a buzz. In vegas with the raiders. Being there now. Are you so busy that you don't really see any of that shit. Yeah no i. i don't know you know. We'll see what flights materialize over the rest of the year But you're talking seventy thousand seats and the kind to create the kind of energy buzz that i like in a fight. You know you gotta sell the place out..

"And you don't have to have a bunch of rambo dzhambul in the back hell. Yeah didn't know if people that would want the decked bed would actually listen to the show or go to a website that potentially win a free one hundred percent. Sure if that's a big pickup truck driving person thing to do. But i let you know it has made trucks a lot better around this office or you. Yeah hey it's tough to fit all size. Yeah yes oh actually that was quite a truck and digs is big monster. Oh doesn't much struck he's got fifteen gallon tank or whatever and here's trump the twenty-three really see it was fifteen gallon. Thought it was just a little baby they might be fifteen gals less than yours. No no good. Trump trump was beautiful. I thought it was a little baby. Gal i thought honestly. I think they were saying there was a mickey mouse truck bills. Were saying that about your bills. Got that gray truck tank bills. What's that did toyota yard not afford. That's for sure. Well toyota actually turns out whereas actually devos american made car it that there is mostly enough though well four toughest been but anyways. Aj bench for causing that conversation to the way it did but yeah there's five and a half foot six and a half foot four nine. They have they have different sizes. Are your bed. it was actually a message mistake. They asked me what size my bed was in. They gave me a couple of size. It's big one. Give me that one and it gets here. It is not that large. Actually there is much larger size. That i guess. So we fucked that up your deck dot com sites mcafee. You can win one and we appreciate debt so much. I just signed up joining us. Now is an absolute legend of the man. The last time we chatted with him he said. Hey i'm gonna send you guys some stuff and he did a workout machine. I don't know what the course record is. I might have had it though. I was punching shit out and kicking the shit out of that thing he sent us. Some glows from signed from diamond dust. Emporia bunch of venom stuff. Ufc stuff a couple of bags. We can't thank you enough for your time and your gifts. It is being used properly ladies and gentlemen there presidency of ufc data. We did what's up. Hey what's a high scoring. i was punching the shit punching thing. I was going to town on things beautiful. Yeah it's late. I told you i tend design. So we're still playing with it and trying to make it better but i knew that's fun because you can punch without gloves on. It feels good. Yes so i didn't have gloves on. Everybody's telling me i was supposed to punch a cross or whatever i think anytime you have one of those. There's metal behind their so. I didn't want to happen to do that. But i was unloading on those things in the hands. Were completely fine. So i just want to thank you for all the gifts. You're a very nice man pleasure. Yeah that's one of the things we need fit. You can't throw looks on it yet. We gotta fix the hug. Also i was right. Everybody on the internet was wrong. I fucking thought so. Guests never would have guessed that was the case doing. How's life haven't chatted with you on a bit. What's lifelike over ufc. I know we've got a big fight card coming up. We'll get to it but what's life like for you everything. Good everything's good man. I just I spent the weekend in boston and flew back in yesterday for the contender series and get ready for the fights this weekend. Man everything's good. Hey fuck it. Friday's become one of my favorite things. I like to eat ridiculous shit. Are you cooking that. and why. don't we have ghost. Kitchens yet for door dash on all the fucking fucking friday food that you think. You had a fruity pebble. French toast almost died and then there was a burrito burger. Think that everybody was trying to do that. Has become a great series in their data. You know what's crazy so fuck it. Friday has become so big. I actually got a show on the food network. it's eight episodes. I start filming soon. And it's called fucking friday. When they put a star. Asterix what is it. How are they gonna do that. All they're gonna do it. They're going to have to figure out they wanted to go with stuff. We're going with your friday and Yeah i'm a foodie. I love eating all different. Types of food Trying different stuff so It's fun for me. It's i started out doing it for fun. Look at that burrito. But it's like a crunch supreme. Almost it looks like yeah. Yeah yeah that's what it's off of the contracts print. So that's the fuck it. Friday mattis is a knockoff of all. The other shit mega little the fuck. Friday started with I had a fried chicken sandwich and donuts donuts with finding sandwich and then from there we went to our came out at that time to the taco bell Cheeto perito my guys. Make it here and you know that's how it really got started. What's life like you just have your own chefs now. Hey by the way. Congratulations slapstick from boston. Great work ethic. Boxing goes over to. Ufc figures out a way to buy a company that you see. The future of it goes on become more billions of dollars. Now you've got your own chef fucking knock it off taco bell a awesome. It doesn't suck this fight card coming up. This weekend's a big one. I mean we literally just aren't going through it and obviously everybody knows about volkogonov ski ortega but the entire lineup seems to be sweet. What should we be looking forward to diaz lawler d. as d has getting back in a five round or like his brother had for no championship. They doing three rounds there. It is i router five rounds. You know obviously. I don't you know we're gonna find out. Nick has fought a while but one thing we know about the diaz brothers is. They always come to fight so That should be fun. I obviously valentina. Shevchenko is an absolute savage. Every time she fights. It's unbelievable what i liked about. Lauren murphy has lauren. Murphy's got a bunch of knockouts and submissions and her win so you know for women at that weight to actually knock out other women. It's tough to do and lawrence been on a roll so that should be a fun fight and then alexander volkov versus. Brian ortega is an absolute war. So greg card gardens week how do you go about and i know you're probably in. I don't know if you're in the room where you actually do. The fight matchups and everything like that. You're always having to figure that thing out whenever you see like a guy on nineteen fight win streak or whatever and then you get a chance to put him up against or tag. Is that like there's a light bulb go off. Is it like. Hey this is a win or do you have to get the fighters to agree to a beforehand or do you. Do you schedule the fights. Then you reach out to the fighters how does the whole process behind the scenes work with that whole thing. Yes so. I'm in the war room right now. This is where we make. All the fights is what i spent most of my day and We put together the fights that that that that need to happen. That should happen. And then we reach out to fighters and make the deal for ya ever mean every weekend like this saturday. The absolute best wider in the world in each weight class will face off and fight each other then on tuesday on. You know mike contender series. We find the best unsigned fighters on the planet and we matched them up in each weight..

"But i that kind of changed through that process or is that how you always knew that the nfl was and how football is like literally all we have is today. We have to get better today. Because if we're not somebody else's you would always preach preach. Did that become more apparent leukemia battle. Or has it always been kind of your outlook on everything. No i think going to that set of circumstances you gain perspective you understand You know. I just helped fragile life is i think we take for granted a lot of the great things in life that we have until the You don't have them and your health being First and foremost number one. You don't have your health Your faith family football that stuff. But you don't have your health is going to be very very hard so It gave me a better perspective. I've always had a pretty good outlook. Didn't take any days for granted but coming out of that great perspective and we all understand the national football league. We know it's in a when a stands for not for long We are one day contracts players coaches and that's a bottom line business. If you win you stay if you lose your out as a player if you produce you get a new contract. If you don't produce you're out it's simple and easy there's no greater that that is fascinating because you know there are some situations where people are like. Oh this person got screwed. This person not screwed and then they may be end up somewhere else and they have success. It's like the nfl figuring out if you're good enough the nfl. Find you in. If you're good enough to produce somebody will find you and if you're not they will get ready you as quick as possible. The nfl is all about. Hey need get rid of the anchors and everything like that. Couple more questions about the weekend. Here chuck frank reich hates field goals. I i mean. I think he hates them now. I appreciate that he's telling his team. Hey we're gonna leave every bullet on the field. We're not gonna leave anything on shape but we're going to go for it. There's been a couple of situations though that. I think if he gets them. He's a genius if not what are we doing. We're looking back on that. That seemed to happen here. The last couple weeks for frank. If you're frank reich. What are you thinking in those situations now going forward. Are you changing at all or are you too far long. What are your thoughts on the colts situation right now especially that one. No i think. Obviously they don't wanna be sitting at onto and They've had their set of circumstances deal with injuries and the other But we all know francs aggressive coach. He's been an aggressive coach since he started there and he's continued to do that. You know we have a bunch of analytics now to help us. You know with the decision making process when it comes to situational football Especially fourth and goal at the one yard line sits there and You know i go second goal. Thirty run it up the middle three straight times you know then you throw it on fourth down. I think probably everybody you know. Obviously the rams had done their homework and sniffed out they ran what we call a swap boot. You when you go for like you said pat and you make it. You know you're the genius and when you don't and it turns out where you get the sack. and then they drive the length of the field and scored touchdown. You're talking about a minimum of ten. Fourteen point swing all the momentum..

"There hasn't been anybody like him ever before now. People compare other mobile quarterbacks to the more jackson he already has eight hundred yard rushes or whatever and his career. I think the lead is tan. Which is what vic. Add michael vick one hundred. He's gonna pass that in three weeks. He's done in like forty. Three games took vic obviously two hundred plus and it's gonna and listen. Michael vick was a video. Game is much different now than it was. Then the offense is set up for the martorana. Michael vick's was not it was basically we got a west west coast offense and then basically he was just scrambling to run for his life. Lamar jackson offense. Is the lamar jackson offense. Because we have lamar jackson. And that's like people are saying they're not gonna pay him and they. They can't payments like their entire offenses lamar jackson. Yeah so the dyes that they give the pictures that could give because the defense is scared to death. At lamar jackson is going to continue to keep the football the offensive line not build up mark andrews getting money the defensive end that gets moved to full-back. That's because lamar jackson is so if they were to not pay lamar and get on the outs with martin out granted. Health is going to be something that will always be mentioned. Because it's mentioned alongside every other position at runs with the ball lot okay. That is something that happens that there's a chance the mar- has seemed to have no problem with that. He seems to miss hit somehow even while still gaining extra yardage. That's spin movie hit on old buddy. Cincinnati is still something people talk about split people and continued. He doesn't seem to take many big hits but all anybody will say is it only takes. Hey takes it only takes one. And he's obviously at a higher risk running the ball to get hit like that. But also i'd say the quarterbacks that can't move sitting in the pocket seems like they get hurt a lot to also. I think just the quarterback position as a whole if they get hurt you're fucked it's like yup. That's that's the position. And that's kind of the only drawback people say about lamar jackson if he gets hurt your fucked. It's like if your quarterback in start up. I was on a team that was completely undefeated. Then two years later our quarterback you now. Monday night football with his neck. We almost went completely it. So if you lose your quarterback you're in trouble and you can lose your quarterback in many different ways including what it sounds like don in miami. Oh no not fans to so earlier. In the week. It was reported in her. Got hurt this past weekend. While he's well see that is that is something that seems to be a couple of unfortunate events here in to his life the hip. I'm not sure anybody could have expected that. And then how last season. And then now he he is. He did get hurt and dig. It carted off the field. Okay in the way we covered this was because the initial reports were it was not serious. Not no there is nothing wrong. It is not a serious injury and actually on monday night football as watching the headline at the bottom. The ticker just like we have down here. Obviously ours is much different than espn's the the ticker said like update on to his injury. Not serious and i actually facetime. Aj hawkins i saw that answered for the first time ever. Wow yeah yeah. It was pretty cool. When i go. It's going to be hard not to you. Know say some stuff about two tomorrow if it's not a serious injury with what had happened on sunday and then obviously darius butler joined us on overreaction monday he is a miami dolphins fan he said. Because even though it's five. I'm going to give you an extra one on this because i couldn't choose one sidekicks. We're talking television. Sidekicks in the thing about these two psychics is they took characters that were comic relief and probably background characters. In just by the sheer will of their greatness as actors they embodied these characters and made them stars in the thing. Is i know both of these guys. Neither one of their anything like the characters. They portrayed so. I'm going to give a shout out to two of the greatest sidekicks of all time. That's stephen oracle and phase from family matters in that seventy show too great sidekicks to great guys. I know gelo white for years. He's a great dune valderrama's one of my best friends so To iconic characters sidekick to though he was any. Okay yeah urkel. That's a good No coming in at number two okay. Let's put it this way. If i if you're having a bad day right and let's say you get fired on a friday on your day off and i'm speaking from experience because it happened to me. Then you need a psychic really going to keep your spirits high. They're going to keep you up. Yes what better side. Let's go to pete in richmond. Virginia. what's up pete. Hello hello gentlemen. It's been a while heater. Y'all doing everything real quick question for you. Have you ever heard the saying. Close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenade. I've heard that sir. Yes yes oh. Tj teaches team. But you're not on the caliber of the buccaneers. But i do want to ask you this. Tj a certain. Then i'm gonna let you go when you guys. Were getting ready to kick that field goal in the camera cut to tom brady and that look on his face when he was looking across the sidelines and there was over a minute left. Did you think you had any chance of winning the football game weekend. Thank you p you too eight brockman you wanna ask me that question again thinking my answer here. You go did you. Thank you jay. You think when they nbc sunday night football on nbc cameras and you know Fried goodell andrew call from the terrific team for the business that they found somehow. They had a camera. Dedicated tolerating on the sideline and they decided you know what eighty four seconds to go It's a feel gained. Field goal wins. It doesn't have to go the full length of feel just a portion of the field One time out left. Let's show a shot of tom. Brady great choice fred. andrew Digit thank sitting at home. Where you were where you had a shot on this greener through in that football No they go no. I know i wanted to come out here. And be like yeah. I thought it was over. But i felt like everyone else felt. There was time on the clock that we have. It's it's adler it's a movie we've seen before the call to come in from within the house sequel never gets old an eraser. No i was. Yeah i was in the glass box emotion. it makes it the more amazing christopher. Can you look it up. Because i don't have it in front of care. What are you need look up. The buccaneers twenty twenty schedule. When were they in so-fi against the rams when was that game last year box at rams which could be the nfc championship game this year. A lot of people are thinking right could be so one was that what week was that. There was in tampa camp. Okay so the wh-what of that was Monday november twenty third okay. That's usually that was week eleven. 'cause we twelve the next week was against the chiefs at home. Correct kris right. They play those week now. Then they lost the chiefs when you know tyreek hill lit them up in that first. Quarter that that was a three or four losing strack. they loss to the saints. They won at carolina. Then lost back to back to the rams chief and then they haven't lost since they've won nine in a row off the following week rattled off nine straight wins including last year's playoffs and then last night's opener. Exactly it's amazing that the rams if you remember kicked the ball punted back to the box willingly. Just said we're just gonna make you burn your timeouts and then we'll give it back to you now. You take you take it and we'll let donald and jalen ramsey and the rest of our defense handle that's how out of sync everything was in tampa and that's still in the super bowl season of the tampa bay buccaneers which is why now when brady's in a routine and is more familiar with the offense things be particularly dangerous. Now it's let's show a shot. Brady ready to take out elm street. Because he's the nightmare. Bro with the fingernails in all back in day was defanged in week. Eleven rams willingly flipped. If i remember that they're like that's how bad this offense is going on with tampa and tom is. That the rams are like yeah. This is the moment where brady normally dominates. And just you know ruins our lives habit. Tom com. That won't happen a glass tom. Somebody said have at tom that was it. Because you know tom was way behind the next week and then nobody said habit tom since then. All right ready for tj jefferson's big ass bag number two. Let's do it okay. Last time we did this it was just. Tj's top five. We don't have a drop for this year. We don't have that little back either. Okay that's your music before guys before says jay jay's big ass grabac. Oh we got your now. Famed paper bag is part of this. Ask you got about five minutes oj. I mean it's okay to make this quick first and foremost guys real quick. I want to say this a buddy of mine passed away last weekend when it give them a shout see without foo foo facts system this for you brother all right. We're going to go top five today. Guys my top five. This week is going to be because remember earlier in the week. You talked about being a hype. Man and i said that after flavor flav splits star. You're the third best man of all time. I was just talking heitmann. got me. Think about sidekicks right. So i decided today. We're going to do top-five psychics. Tj stop five sidekicks and again. This not necessarily what. I think of the five greatest but these are five that i really like and i'm really looking forward to hearing what everyone else. All right so coming in at number five everyone says the howard. Stern is the king of all media. Right sure all right so a great king needs a great queen. Yes robin quivers number five. You know howard as if you've watched the movie you know. He couldn't really be everything he wanted to be without robin kinda holding him down and keeping him in check someone. Give robin her flowers. And say the great robin quivers. I wanna recognize her as one of the best sidekicks back in the day when.

"Did somebody in the locker room talk about it or you just all just you know. Have your quiet conversations and then Strap on the chinstrap and go. Yeah so You know on the field kind of set. A prayer ended practice. Just a couple of plays early You know said that prayer and today We had a little meeting team meeting and Just talking about what's going on obviously We're all extremely sad for those guys like i said and that was reiterated but again Weren't in a fighting mood and that's kind of what harbaugh relayed to us. Is that You know we're we're. We're you know not backs up against the wall. But we're we're in a fighting though you know people are counting us out. People are saying this and that you know having these injuries but You know we got to be ready to go. We got a great team. We got a lot of great players. and we got a lot of fighters on this team. So that's what it's about for us. Mark andrews few minutes left here with the baltimore ravens pro bowl tight end fresh with a new four year contract extension right here on the rich eisen show. So what about the passing game. Can you tell us How dynamic can it be. This has been something that's been under the microscope. Microscope about stretching the field putting points on the board fast if you need to as opposed to the the grinded out method that your team is so famous for to protect elitebook. Can you tell us about that mark. We've done a great job of of one. We got We brought in to really good You know coaches when they're leaving receiving game and That a girl really comment. Jiro and what he's able to do You know we've worked really hard this offseason not as in training camp and throwing the ball and you know we've we've really been clicking so i think it's going to be dynamic. I know it's going to be dynamic and You know. I'm excited to go out there monday. Night against the raiders. Bill to show show the world we can do. Throw the ball around Let eight do his thing and as you know supporting cast is just help them out as much as we can play the favorite eight play that you mentioned eight. Lamar jackson i think for me was probably I think it was my rookie. Year chargers the first time we played them And then the chargers stadium Ran a line route Kind of right across the field. The martha perfect ball Right in stride and was able to score like a sixty year touchtone. I love that you chose a passing play. I think i'm certain. I'm serious because again it's remarkable guy was an mvp and still it's the same guy But it's usually the play like say him running one in against the titans last year in a playoff game that was so crucial team again man but again going to pass wants to me so that helps out there is no i and mark andrews a little bit they just heard when come out right there so With you taking on the las vegas writers on monday night football on westwood. One radio What's the biggest challenge. This raiders defense presents. It's a new defensive coordinator in in gusts bradley. What do you. what do you expect to see from them right. Yeah i know that you know they're gonna play hard they're gonna physical They're gonna run to the ball All those things that great defenses do And and you know they. They kind of that. You know seattle three system So we're going to be you know obviously expecting that looking at that and Their front seven or eight really is is really really good. And then Being detector secondary Which is which is going to be Obviously they they play a lot of zone being to see that and then be able to to fit in those zones is what we're looking for and then you know you'll have to have your head on a swivel there. It's the first time with fans. There's a nightclub i guess. There's all sorts of bells and whistles in that stadium at. I don't know if you did. They set up like a nightclub at practice. To sort of simulate what you're going to have to deal with and the game conditions roundup again. It's exciting to be able to play the first game in that stadium I know that place is gonna be rockin. You know as a football player. That's kind of what you live for On the road Everyone's doing Against you when you're on offense and build a quite that down So that's exciting for us man. That's what i look for. And i know this team you know kinda drives in that situation. Uncork your own bottle service game. Yeah little ravens on the rocks. What you're saying straight out on iraq. That's right okay very good hey mark andrews thank you for the time greatly appreciate it. Congrats on your gig and your in your deal Let's do this more often. I appreciate it catch you. That's mark andrews. Getting set for monday night. Football against the las vegas raiders. Right here on the rich eisen show mark andrews. Same marion of fighting mood at the team had a meeting. I mean that has to take place just like okay. We just lost two of our guys again. Yeah we lost two more of our guys. Let's talk about it. Get everything off our chest about anything. About how upset you are how angry you may be at the circumstances and let's go first up las vegas as may nice game. I mean the browns division. It's their division to win and loose asset. I think they've got the best top to bottom roster they really do. I know the ravens. You said that they're you know you just said they were deep team..

"If gronk looks like grog of old yeah like knocking to rostov from last year if last year was a knock the rust off year and they want it all anyway holy crap. Yeah back here. In the rich eisen show eight four four two zero four rich number to dial. That was mike. Mayock of the raiders raiders. The will be Again this is A game on monday night. Football the worldwide leader in sports. Big bag leaves and Louis riddick brian greasy will be back in the booth to wrap up week number one and and i will be on the radio on westwood one every single monday night. I will be hosting the pregame and halftime show of monday night. Football love it so fancy Just trying to keep planting flags. That's all i'm trying to do and So i'll be there and it'll be great. It'll be a lot of fun every single monday night. Just spoke to mike mayock but let's be a little bit more fair and balanced and talk about the other side. Is our next guest on the phone line is. He's entering his fourth year in the national football league third round pick in the two thousand eighteen draft and he signed a four year fifty six million dollar contract extension on his twenty sixth birthday. Happy birthday to you. Baltimore ravens tight. End mark andrews. How are you mark. Thanks for having me on You know like you said it was an incredibly good birthday. Couldn't have asked for anything more man. I'm incredibly blessed. I mean if somebody told you growing up. Hey on your twenty sixth birthday. You're going to sign up for or fifty. Six million dollar extension with an nfl franchise would you said Man i would have thought you were crazy. Man but I've been working a long time for this A lot of hard work has been put into this and You know sports have been my whole life so You know just to be able to have that the bill to do that. My birthday with the ravens You really can't ask for anything more man. This is an incredible place Place where they love football. They love winning And that's what. I mobile all out if i told you on draft night that you would sign a contract multimillion dollar contract extension before baker. Mayfield your college teammate. What would you said on that man I probably said you're crazy man again. Man there's been a lot of hard work You know there's been a lot of people that You know throughout my career doubted me and whatnot so Just to be able to have this contract and stuff like that. It's awesome and so Obviously being able to to what guys like bacon and orlando It's good for me. Mark andrews here on the rich eisen show on the mercedes. Benz vans phone line here on the friday of the nfl season kicking off prior to the monday night. Game between his ravens and the raiders. So did you watch. Do you watch the season opener. Did you check that one out. Did i touted tuned out around the third quarter But i was able to watch. Both teams would really really good Gras looked really really. It's those those fun to see But you know a lot of competition but it feels awesome man having the nfl season. Back and Obviously you gotta watch the opener. See how things go but You know football's back man. So yeah. I'm just wondering how you watch a game like that as a player in the nfl. What do you. I mean you know for me. It's you know i try to. It's hard to watch the games on tv. Just because you watch film and stuff like that. so I kind of approach it the same way i watch them. I watch the tight ends And then i watched a defense see what they're doing. So what do you see when you see. What do you think of when you saw. He looks really really good He's doing a lot of good things you could tell him and Brady have been doing this for a long long time. they look like they're in midseason for and you you know do you aspire or think you've reached there and you could just shoot me straight the elite status of tight ends. I mean you've got a contract like one. You definitely have numbers like one. We talk in the media quite a bit about gronk. Another eighty seven in kansas city Also kiddle waller gets a lot of run. Do you feel like you get enough. Run when you think about a guy like rock He's in a whole another level. You know in a self and there may be a couple of guys with him but You know he's he's a guy that you got to hold up at the highest pedestal. He may be the top. Mount rushmore and You know just him being with the to win. I think it's been four super bowls now You that speaks volumes so You know i do you know. Have a lot of confidence in my skills and and i think i'm at the highest level in elite level At the game. Right now. And i can compete with all those guys But a guy like him. You gotta give them respect you all right mark andrew. Let's talk about what happened in practice on thursday. We all heard about it and it just blew my mind just as a fan That gus edwards. And marcus peters both out with Season ending knee injuries. That we're all Expecting here what What can you tell me about practice. Walk me through where you were. What happened in practice on both of them. I think for marcus is one. It was toward the end. Just i guess but You know happen Everyone saw and kind of you know everyone kind of went quiet and stuff like that. It was one of those freak accidents. And then i think it was a play later. A two plays later. We flipped around And then you see gusts go down. It was actually on the field for that one and Same thing freak accident man so you know. It's it's one of the things where you don't expect that to happen. And it's part of the game but Kind of back-back. Same practice and the stuff that we've been through all off-season It just sucks man. But at the same time you just got to pray for those guys Keep their heads up. And then keep our heads man. We got a great team. Really deep team That's what baltimore is all about bringing a lot of great players in that can play football so You know to to to count us out. You know that's right but We're going to be hungry and ready to go. Well obviously this comes on the heels of jk dobbins also being out for the season. How how does that potentially shake your team. I know you say your you wanna you know. use this potentially as A stepping Guess away for you to move forward. But i just in the moment how. How do you as a team handle something like this. Yeah you know. Jk again. It's it's tough but you know As a team And again as a running back group. We still have a lot of guys. You know the tyson's going to going to do is thing man. He's bald out all preseason We got a lot of confidence in We got a lot of confidence in the rest of the guys in that group in this offense and in lamar And so you know. There's not a lot of confidence lost in this team. You know what i'm saying so We're gonna be ready to go You know are going to be on fire Monday night ready to play. Las vegas raiders. Man that's what it's all about. Did the coach gather everyone around..

"She kelly. he's looking good. He's got cooper earlier on. The show hosted the dan. Patrick show dan patrick coming up readers. General manager mike mayo ravens tight end mark andrews plus co-hosted cbs. The talk jerry. O'connell and now rich is our number. Two of the richeisenshow is on the air mark andrews of the baltimore ravens gonna join us in about twenty minutes time. Mike mayock my buddy from away back in the days with nfl network will be calling shortly from the front office of the las. Vegas raiders the raiders. Ravens will finish up the week. One that started last night and We'll talk to mark andrews about the two stories of the day before the game were from the afc north. Where both gus edwards and marcus. Peters starting running back and cornerback went down with injuries. Within snaps of each other unreal as after j. dobbins blew out his knee and justice hill. Three running backs. And you're starting defensive back and That was one story than the other one is. It looks like Do you think the rooney's and the front office of the pittsburgh steelers. L- taken the richeisenshow. That's the only conclusion. I could make from the fact that the steelers gave tj watt in unprecedented deal for them. They they gave eighty million guaranteed. He's the highest paid player in the nfl. Defensive player ever there you go for your hundred twelve million dollars contract thirty five million dollars signing most eighty million dollars fully guaranteed through two thousand twenty three. This is a team that does not give guaranteed money past the first year and i said to them well make an exception for the guy here right and then when anybody else comes around and says well you did it for tj. What you simply tell them. You're not teaching simple. So they went ahead and did something like that three years ago. Teed money good for him joining me on the mercedes benz vans phone. Line is the general manager of the. Las vegas raiders. Who's getting ready to take on the baltimore ravens on monday night. Football in their beautiful new stadium with fans in it for the first time. Mike mayock back. You're in the richeisenshow. How are you michael rachel. I only caught the end of that but is is it true that you are responsible for getting what signed the steelers. There may be other moving parts. And he's taking credit. My maybe other moving parts. But what i'm saying is i counseled here from this position. That their position that they don't do business a certain way they should make an exception for somebody. Like what and if anybody comes around and says yeah you did it for tj. You just simply say yeah. You're not tj and. It looks like they did that. So that's my only conclusion i could make is that they heard me mike. I think they probably did rich. Thank you mike you know you know. I'm just look for affirmation. That's all you know. That's what i walk around looking for affirmation from today. But i am. I am curious how a deal like that lands in a lap of another general manager in the the nfl. And what you think of that now that clearly a bar has been raised in a way for others. What do you make of that. Deal mike you know. I'm always intrigued. Rich by how other teams do business. Because they're really thirty two separate footprints. Everybody does a little bit different. We all have different thoughts about how far carry guarantees out I'm less intrigued by the numbers. Even though they're big numbers and more just intrigued that they were flexible enough to change a policy. They had which is kind of what you highlighted And i'm always trying to figure out which way this league's going. Which and what. What what i think agents look at it just like we do. What's becoming more and more acceptable. Where where are the guarantees going where the percentage is going so. I'm just always intrigued. By these. the altar learn the detail about how ultimately the deal got done. But does that is that the way. Sometimes things go were an agent calls up and says you did something for somebody else. And you're gummy your guy. But he's not the guy that you're referring to right. Does that the way it works. Mike and you know. I mean i think in any industry when precedents are set. Certain people are going to wanna use that precedent to their advantage. Then it's your it's your job to basically press your case as well on the other side push-back human being into account and right. So what is on your table on your inbox now. Now that we're ready to play football. what is what. what is your job. What is your gig entail. Right now mike. Well i'm kind of anxious to get on the road a little bit rich and you know me i. I like smell the grass. Just and you know once you get from final cubs and you make some adjustments so that fifty three etc. And you're you're heading into the roster. I think what i learned when i was. Nfl network was at all thirty two. Gm's kind of had their own way of doing business during the season Ozzy news some guy who i loved you know ozzie. Believed in being in the building. Three hundred and sixty five days a year. No your team better than anybody else's team Kevin culvert an awesome general manager. Moi's love being out in the growed and he felt like he had to see the players personally. And you know everybody's got their own reason for doing things. I like to get out there and see it. So i'm gonna get out to a game tomorrow Next week when we go to pittsburgh on the way there. I'll get a chance. See another game. I'll get the some practice. So basically as the season progresses what i try to do is balance being in the building with john and staying on top of our auster with getting out there and seeing some of my area scouts and seeing some of the players in each area. Jamie gona maher who seen to see texas saying emmett colorado k. I love it and then you just go there and so you do you have guys at. You're thinking of you're already in mind. Like how do you approach something like that before you do that before you then obviously had home for for your game on monday scouts reports which will tell take me in the right direction of who the guys to watch our during the game and i probably did four or five hours work on guys this week. That are in that game. So at least i'd have a preview of what they look like a year ago and then i'll be down on the field pre-game kind of getting the body types and my notes pre game and then there'll be a few guys little focus on with the binoculars from the press box. Do you think of the realignment going on right with oklahoma texas. Going to the sec. How do you think this is this constant shifting..

Mark Andrews' 4-Year Extension With Baltimore Ravens Worth $56 Million

"Next year. We have ravens agreeing to a four year. Fifty six million dollars extension with mark andrews which it happens also have been his birthday the extension thirty six million dollars with fourteen million in yearly in his yearly cap this would make him the third highest tied in They confirmed deal and it will go through. Twenty twenty five. I will say with mark. Andrew i mean he has now he is the top three top five top. Three to five tight ends in the league. Unfortunately he plays in the system and which it doesn't allow the throws but when they do through a to. I mean he's really really impactful But i know for sure that he's gonna be worth every penny on that particular docket because the guy is a big target in a system. That doesn't really rely heavily on receivers. So i'm pretty happy for marketing

"I think those can. I don't know that. I necessarily like that much more than dave. I'm i'm pretty happy to get got around seven I just don't like the other titans. That much ahead of him. The only thing i would say Is that yeah. He only had a what was it. What the target share from from hurts David fourteen point one. That's largely because and i'm doing the math in my head right. Not right now. Sixteen percent of his targets went zach. Ertz that that's thirty percent of jalen hurts targets that went to earth's or goddard's we don't currently i. I took her out of my eagles projections. I don't think i don't know where he's gonna play or what's going to happen but it. It seems really unlikely. That hurts is on the eagles. If that's the case. I think there's definitely an opera like you would certainly expect more than fourteen percent of his targets to go to godart if thirty percent of his targets went to tight ends when through last year. I think it could be as high as twenty so. I do think that there is more upside there. Just by removing zach ertz because he threw which we don't know how much of that was the offensive philosophy in philadelphia and the lack of wide receivers but the evidence. We have from hurts. Last year's like a third of his passes went to tight ends in titans were humongous part of that offense last year dan. They're going to be a big part of this offense this year. Don't get me wrong in your points valid. Do you think it gets over. Twenty percent because devante smith had zero percent of the target share last year in philadelphia. And now he's there he's new. I would imagine that they will have other tight ends. Take away a little bit. i'm just i just i'm just. I'm nervous about goddard breaking out into this huge role where he's a candidate for one hundred targets. I've got him at one hundred two over seventeen games. Which isn't spectacular but again. I think that's exactly what i have. Noah fant projected for that would be a sixty five cats all right Sixty five catches up seven hundred and like i have fanton got projected for almost exactly the same stat line. Except for the fact that i think it i'm always a sucker for the coming touchdown regression. And so i think the lot fan will have better touchdown luck this year almost certainly but i think you have to project gutter to score more touchdowns than fan based on what we've seen in their career. So far. Can i ask you when you look at the metrics on dallas qatar. What kind of a player is he. See anything special so far. No better better than zach. Ertz has been the past two years right like in the in the overall tight end spectrum in the national football league..

"You know you might have to commit around five pick and around let you could take around five and six pick on if you really like hopkinson and then dak prescott or something like that you would need one of the two to slide. I think unless got hurt. Your guy hockey needs case fan. Hopkinson is going sixty seconds. So it's the very end of around five and dak. Prescott is gearing. Fiftieth lamar jackson fiftieth. All right if you made that russell wilson he's going back kinston so you could you with the last pick of round five in the first pick around six. Yeah and it's conceivable. If you had the mark andrews going sixty fifth so he's going after harkinson. You could have a middle middle of the round pick and add about fifty seven overall. Take kyla murray or something like that. If he's there. Were one of those quarterbacks and then hope to get mark andrews in the next round maybe hopkinson falls a few spots. You might get a little bit lucky but but that strategy overall. What do you think about two running backs two receivers or some combination of that with your first four picks and then a quarterback in a tight end. You'll get the second tier of quarterback. Dave puts mahomes in that same year. So we the first or the second year but a top six quarterback and top six tight. End in rounds. Five and six can do it. I think it's good. My my preference would be because i think gen like i know what the adp is. No all those guys are late round five early round six. The quarterbacks are experiences generally in round six. You will find one of those quarterbacks. It's usually russell wilson. Sometimes it's dak prescott it. It has been lamar jackson which is astonishing to me but it sometimes he. He falls to the last year that group i. I love getting five running backs wide receivers. And then taking the last of the quarterbacks in round six and then taking god or fanton round seven okay dave do you have a. You have a thought on that. No i think that he's planned is fine. You just have to like got her to do it. And you have to get goddard and seven. You should not reach for dallas. Gutter is the point that i'll make today's. Let's let's have fan debate. Then because he's obviously dave you have him in that third tier but at the bottom of like the tier ranges. i think i've got that ranges routes five through seven. Yes and if i broke out of that tear the range would be round five basically for hopkinson and andrews and pits and then got a ruby in his own tier as around seven pick. I'm not as jazzed about him. As other people are the distribution from hurts last year the addition of devante smith. We'll nervous about him getting a ton of targets. Anything else you wanna say or throw it over to heath five point seven targets per game with hurts. Fourteen percent target share from hurts. No red zone targets from hurts in three and three quarters games. Averaged six point six yards per attempt with was eight point seven and Hertzel run in the red zone. That could take away targets in the red zone which were not existent already last year. He's made the case for got her..

"Come off the board. Sometimes when the great running backs and wide receivers are not are not there anymore or at least andrews met you know what i'm saying. So so that's the kind of discussion. I wanna have here. And so gimme the next year and we'll talk about some of the maybe you say okay. I'm happy to take waller kit or maybe andrews over josh jacobs or i don't know travis t. n. or amari cooper but not these guys and you can plug in your own running backs and receivers. They're so what's the next year for me. The next year starts with mark andrews and this is where we get into the fun part of tight end tears. It's actually it's hopkinson andrews. Npr followed by pits and got her got her half tier for me. So the top three tight ends in this tier hopkinson andrews pits. They're kind of in their own bubble and got her can't break through that bubble but he's not quite part of the tier below him so he's in this year so he's my he's in the third and a half year for me i suppose and i'm i'm looking for these tight ends starting in round five. So they're going to be a lot of running back. So i'm taking ahead of these tight ends and plenty of good receivers and even a few quarterbacks before i start looking at hopkinson andrews pits gutter. Yeah i have basically the same guys. It's got hurt pits and fans I'm not as excited to draft this tier. As dave is the nice thing with god. Her infant is you don't have to be I start looking at these guys. The end of round six Or in round seven and the only to the river there at that point guard her fan and so i draft them so what about going back to the wide receiver tears. What about the amari. Cooper robert woods ceedee lamb. Chris godwin mike evans. Before all these guys and all these guys for you does not include mark andrews though correct but it would for dave so dave. You're we take all those wide receivers ahead of making lamb ahead of of andrews and hopkinson. I'm taking lock it ahead of them. Dj more npr. I'll take ahead of them. I've got your chase one spot ahead of hopkinson and my overall rankings. I think it's pretty easy for me. At least it's pretty easy to take the starting running backs and the starting wide receivers while say top twenty five of each of those before all these guys what it. It's almost like this is a this tier of tight ends for me is a decision with whichever of the top five or six wherever you're tier. Cutoff is quarterback Piler murray lamar jackson. Dak prescott like those guys versus these guys. I think is a difficult decision..

"All right so mark andrews. Last year he was tight end five and he was six and pr. He was four nine. Pbr per game. He was actually fourth and he played only fourteen games. And all right. Let's make your case. He should be in that. To your with with kittle and waller. Well i mean. I think i said at the beginning. He is equally apart basically from the the tier behind. I think the two and a half tier makes sense He has shown us production. Closer to those guys than anybody else. Except for i guess zach ertz and it's not particularly close. I think on a per game basis he was right with darren waller in twenty nineteen I was thirteen point. Nine points behind him and played one fewer game so i he's shown us the ability to produce at that not just eleven twelve and a half points per game or more two years in a row. We have no one else that that has given us that. I love the target share that he's giving you over the past two seasons. He was at twenty three point. Four percent twenty nineteen twenty three point seven percent in the games that he played in two thousand twenty. But i i wish he'd get more yardage. I wish he had more numbers overall any average six point four targets per game. It's a nice target share. It's just not as many targets as you'd like your stud tied into have on a week in week out basis. And they've added. Sammy watkins agra shot bateman. Are those two newcomers going to take targets away from brown from andrews from both the ravens going to try and diversify and spread the ball around a little bit more and keep defenses off kilter that way. So that's why i couldn't put them in in the second tier or even the second and a half tier i he's squarely in the third tier for me. He's at the top of that era a non pr. He's not in that top tier that top of that tier npr. Because i'm worried about the target. The target volume paling in comparison to hopkinson for sure. And maybe pit as well. Does this matter to you. Here's a naser stat. Mark andrews had back to back one hundred yard games to start the two thousand and nineteen season since then in his last twenty seven games. He's averaging forty nine point four yards per game. I mean that's an example of what i stalk you did say give the numbers though but sure but i mean that is i m eliminating two one hundred yard games. But it's been twenty seven games in a row where he's on pace for seven hundred and nine yards. He's only.

"The kindle hit where Kindle hinton started and noah fant got hurt he was at eleven point five yeah and remember we all use different scorings. But it's close but to give you eleven. Pr points per game is what dave is looking for. Not that many did it. Kelsey almost doubled that he was almost twenty one points per game. Darren waller was seventeen point. Five george kittle. Fifteen point six i have mark andrews at twelve point two. I have tony at eleven point. Eight so i guess he didn't quite make that for dave and cj zombie at eleven point four and two games at ten point five games. He played sixteen games and had one hundred and sixty eight total points. Yeah there's two more tight ends at fifty when he played fifteen games according to according to f f. today if he only played fifteen games than he makes it football guys says he played sixteen as well. That's true i'm gonna keep robert. Cbs does say sixty. And that is weird. I think you should start using cbs. That's how do you do you have that wrong. What other lies have you told us over the year what it makes me second guess those stats now all as all tax all of them. You can't do that to me. Lies damn lies and as our stats log. Onto his game log. Maybe there was a game played like only ten percent of the snow. You know what it was say. He had no stats in week one. But he played sixty two percent of the snaps. You can't do that. dot com. You don't mean a podcast host. What an award winning podcast host. You're giving out false numbers. Don't blame the source of where you're getting them from. I think it would have played source. I m sorry. I feel bad. I honestly sucks. I feel bad about that but okay all right. Let's move on. Let's talk about the tears. I think we should do some news in notes. Just real quick here. Jamie sent me a link. Today from from mike florio profootballtalk. He wrote about burger and the dead giveaway. That ben roethlisberger had out of the shotgun which was most of their snaps is it does have to do with his feet. Yeah i've i've seen that for years. Well okay well all right. Well he Put his his foot. Was i on the ground for runways and an elevated for past place. Was it like back a little bit too. Like he's got a foot like step back. Yeah i'll tell you in a second. I'll ask f f today today. All say it was his hand that was up in the air. That means it's a pass. Yeah well it doesn't matter exactly the placement but it was. It was big tell They ran the shotgun. Eighty three percent of the time. And when it's iran rothlisberger stands flat-footed before the snap when it's a pass. He lifts his left heel off the ground before the snap. He does that even when he fakes. The hand off before throwing the ball. If you can fix that it might make them a little bit. More efficient offensively. It's nice for the defense to know what type of play is coming. I really couldn't believe that that that was i. Don't know if teams caught onto that though. 'cause rothlisberger still had.

Is Tutu Atwell Too Small to Succeed in the NFL? - burst 02

"We're going to hop right back into it and we're going to start with rishaad bateman from the baltimore ravens. He was picked with the twenty seventh overall. Pick in nfl draft. And there's been a lot of conversations about rashaad bateman as to where he compares to some of the other receivers in this class. I know in particular out of people have been comparing him to rondo more but is there a conversation to be made that he's better than other receivers qadir's tony that went before him. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this call. Would you have to say about rashaad bateman. Yeah as far as a baby. And he's a guy that i think. A lot of other people in the industry were were higher on that. I was going into the draft. One thing i do think kind of happen with his leaning spot is these kind of seemed to fall down in some bricky drafts that i've seen and he's kinda back to where the place that i kinda thought he should be all long You know if he falls any further than where he he's kind of going like i've seen him fall as far as like Seventeenth overall in in some superplex ethic. That's just a little bit of over reaction from the from the market you know It probably settle down. He'll probably move up a little bit more as addressees goes along closer to the season. But i think there's people need to be really careful because we saw with. Aj brown where he went to a a a lesson desirable situation a few years ago and people You know pushed him down too late. I you know second second round rookie drafts and turned out to be a pretty big mistake you know. You can't overreact. To situations. Lamar jackson still developing as a passer. And we really don't know whether the baltimore offense may open up or not you know the part of the reason why they might be writing so much inhabit says low volume and passing is because they really dependent on their own their defense and the running game but it also might be an issue because they didn't have the water receivers with the skill sets the to produce so bateman adds a very vital piece in my opinion that they did not have or last couple seasons in in a possession. Receiver know that moves change as well as a another red zone threat to help out with mark andrews because really their receivers have not been responsible for touchdowns last and Marquees brown where i think. He's a good. football player. Is for a stretching the field when he's healthy i. I'm not sure that he's the type of guy that you really want to depend on in dynasty especially in ppo release because he's not going to have a high volume with the with the average depth of targets that he gets. I'd argue that this landing spot for bateman is fantastic landing spot for a rashad baby because you have an offense here with mark. He's brown and like you said. Mark brown is used primarily as deep that this is not a guy that's gonna be demanding by receiver one targets. I think he's gonna be demanding some targets. But he's the guy that's a good deep threat and he's going to have big games here and there but the baltimore. Ravens are lacking a number one receiver. And they haven't had a number one receiver for quite some years. And i can't remember quite frankly the last time they had a number one receiver and resod bateman guy to me that could hop right in there in become a true number one receiver for the baltimore. Ravens this is a great possessing catch. This is a guy that is just an all great receiver. He's going to be a great match with lamar jackson. And he's probably gonna get some solid targets away out of the gate and so i was. I'm pretty how. I was pretty high on them. Before the draft started. I had him publicly about my fourth or fifth best receiver and landing spot to me. Doesn't change anything for rashad bateman. I still think he's worthy of a late. I ask pick in dynasty rookie drafts. You could depends. Maybe even a little bit higher. But i think overall basements a great receiver and i would even argue because i know a lot of people are considering bateman to be the top of the second tier for receivers. But i would argue that. Maybe he should be considered with the first tier receivers as well because if considering jalen waddell to be in that first year a battisti receivers this year now. People are than i have to make the case. The bateman is right up there with jalen waddell because you look at geelong competition and wolf Devante parker for targets. And then you look at batman's competition for targets as well and you have like brown and the opportunity is actually better for the women's and i'd have to argue that. Lamar jackson is a better quarterback than a tiger. Ryo as well and yes. I know that they've been known for the running game in the past. But i think that's naturally because they haven't had an alpha dog receiver like rishaad based in also rashaad. Bateman is a guy that is going to be able to handle a lot more targets than jalen watteau. I don't see as high as many targets in receptions for jalen models i actually think that rashad bateman of very good receiver and he's someone worth considering in your dynasty rookie draft him would be a great value. Fell to like the back half of the first round in your dynasty rookie draft okay. Let's move on

Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup

"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.

Russell Wilson New Orleans Houston Willie Snead Willie Snead Tyler Lockett Willie Snead Russ Cook Shawn Watson Alvin Kamara Raiders Josh Jacobs La Raiders Brady New England Tampa Waller Seattle Trae Kwan Smith Chris Carson

Remember big dairies campaign against the use of the term milk by companies that produce nuts avacado 's anything that doesn't have breasts caused quite a stir in the beverage industry. Well, meat producers are following in the dairy industries big footsteps, four states have now made it illegal to misuse, the term, meet Missouri. Was I followed by Mississippi and South Dakota, the Montana legislature recently passed a similar Bill, which is awaiting that governor signature in those states. The legislation says you can now name food meat only if it comes from an animal, not a plant and most certainly not a cell culture. In addition, ten other state, legislatures are considering similar bans the campaign is a legislative attempt to stem, the tide of consumers choosing to go meatless. The industry site food. Dive reports that seventeen percent of Americans are now vegetarians and another sixty percent say they're reducing their meat consumption. A lot of these folks are switching to plant based alternatives and more recently moved into burgers and other meatless meat products created in laboratories to such alternative meat companies have gotten a lot of Presley, impossible foods and beyond burger are both growing meat substitutes. That are said to look taste and smell like beef. And that's pretty scary to ranchers and meatpackers perhaps the timing of the growing number of state bills is no surprise meet grown in Petri dishes is getting so big that Burger King just put impossible burgers from the company impossible foods on the menu. They called the new item and impossible Walker. When one of the world's biggest hamburger chain start serving non meat meat. Ranchers blanche, the veggie brand tofurkey along with others, including the American Civil Liberties union immediately challenged Missouri's labeling law when that state passed it last year a settlement in that case is expected by may first in Montana, the Republican who sponsored the legislation. There says it's only fair that Montana's know where their food is coming from it doesn't ban. So cultured products just says they can't use the term meet to describe them the ways in which the meat industry's responding can be confusing big companies like Tyson, the chicken producer invested impossible foods rival beyond meat. Think of this the same way big donors contribute to Republican and democratic candidates to make sure they benefit from the eventual winner, but smaller states in producers don't have this kind of clout. And so they are fighting instead meat production is a top industry and many smaller rural States, South Dakota. For instance is. The twelfth largest meat and poultry producer in the nation. Meaning a big swath of that population depends on animals for their livelihood as they gear up for a fight. Ranchers slaughterhouse owners and Packers are also looking beyond. The lab the Montana law is also fending off a growing competition of the six legged kind. It also says you can't call an insect ameet how we name our food may or may not have much to do with what we actually choose to eat. That's a dilemma that will play out over the coming months and years in our shopping carts and on our dinner tables. In the meantime, semantics will continue to play out in the courts in an increasingly hot question for all sides. From wondering this business wars daily. If you think we're the real thing. Actor John Karna got to play Mark Andriessen who created the Netscape browser back in the pre dawn of the internet era. He plays them in a new mini series about the birth of the internet called valley of the boom which airs on the National Geographic channel, John Carney joins us today on talking tech shares her fluctuations on the early days of the internet. I'm Jefferson Graham. Stay tuned. Yeah. You know, it's an interesting show primarily because you get to see interviews with the real players in ball alongside these kind of dramatic reenactments. But the only person who really didn't want to do any interviews for the show was Mark because he just notoriously hates talking about the past. And and so I got to kind of, you know, do like a mock interviews him, and then at some point somebody stops me, and I break the fourth wall. And I'm like, you know, guys, I'm obviously not market. I'm I'm this actor Jon Karna, and you know, Mark does. I don't really want to do this in in that way. Kinda gives me a little bit of leeway. Just in the sense that, you know, I'm a pretty small guy about five nine, and I think Mark at twenty four was six two or six three something crazy in, you know, like over two hundred pounds, and in this way, kind of gives me a little bit of leeway, which was cool. There's a lot of fun. She played the young Mark Anderson for yes, sir. Yeah. Mark at twenty four. I believe was when he was, you know, the founder of Netscape the first year there, and he was just a young kid. Really? I didn't really know a ton about Mark. I mean, I when I was a kid I remember using Netscape, and I remember, especially using Firefox growing up. I thought that like, you know, at the time that was the the browser that everyone said was way better than Internet Explorer in its cool that that code came from the original Netscape code in Missoula crew is off from the Netscape crew in. But I did a ton of research when I found out I got the Parton I was really struck by just how innovative really was to create a browser at that time in the ninety s I mean, it it just kept getting driven home to me how before this browser was widely disseminated no-one relieving knew how to get on the internet. Even though the internet had been happening for about a decade. It was really only being used by the department of defense in academia in. Browser. The first one mosaic. It really it opened everything up a lot of times. He likens it to the invention of the printing press again, and it in a way totally was that influential right now, did you get to meet Moton tourism? No, unfortunately, not. I'm such a fan. I definitely tried for a little bit too. Just to talk to him to get a little bit of a sense of what it felt like when he was a working Netscape because you know, he is he's just such a private person. Understandably, so and not the least of which because he's still one of the biggest players in the venture capital world right now. So I definitely wrote him like a letter. I I asked kind of like the the music that he listened to at the time because that was a really good way for me to kind of get into his head space. But no, you know, I just have had a ton of conversations with them in my head, you know, to question or treated with us market Newson. I I would definitely ask him about his. Music. I, you know, he just he everyone said he just loved listening to a ton of classical music. And I think like I I made myself a little playlist that I kind of thought that maybe he would listen to. I would also I would also, you know, if I if I really was able to talk to him, frankly, I would wanna know really any sort of details about how it must have felt when all of this was getting kind of on the downhill in a O L, you know, buys Netscape in it's not necessarily a happy ending for that company by any means. I mean, I've even though it saved it from Microsoft's, it kind of you know, that's the end of Netscape, and I would be interested to see, you know, if that if that spurned him on to anything new or if that kind of is something he would rather leave behind, you know, or via valley, the boom is on the National Geographic channel are. It's an eight ups owed for six episodes in where we have they run all of them or the. In the middle of it. Or where's that they're all out now and me personally, I think it's really great to binge them. Some of, you know, sixty episodes on the all flow pretty crazily in. Frank Gore Won't Return vs. Vikings with Foot Injury, Reportedly Has Sprain

"Next thing, you know, it's fourth and thirty for Indianapolis. It's fun to sort of observe all the games taking place at one time. I Lamar Jackson throw to somebody attempt to throw titan Mark Andrews, hit a defender in the back hawk the mar a thrower is still a work in progress. Yes, worker progress is putting it lightly. I mean, he just has to, you know, a lot of time with quarterbacks no matter how good or or, you know, whatever the scouting report says about you. We can't see you at your best until you're comfortable. And when I watch him throw the football when I watch him try to dissect defenses. I don't see a guy who feels comfortable yet. Which is why I think you've. Verse two running a lot because that's the thing that makes them feel the most confident so he asked to become comfortable as a passer, and then we can kind of make the determination of whether or not he has the ability of the thrower right on cue. I see him rush for about eight yards for the Baltimore Ravens him or Josh Allen. Who's been the more impressive runner to you. Because Allen's doing it on non design runs. Lamar. The design stuff. Yeah. I mean, I think they're both impressive. I think Josh Allen is just the one that surprises me more. I didn't expect him to be able to Russia the level. He is because he didn't Lamar Jackson had incredible Russian production. Yeah. We knew it. But not nearly what Lamar Jackson exactly we've got an update here. Coming up. We have an update from the Bengals do we have this. We have the update yet. I'll take it myself Joe mixing the Cincinnati bangles on fourth down plunges into the end zone. Hawk fourteen. Nothing to fight Marvin Lewis. Now that they're getting after man didn't after China China. Make a case here. Trying to make the case are the Bengals for I don't know maybe saving Marvin job like that. To write technically. But it doesn't look good five eight they are technically in hunt. But it's gonna take a lot of work. I guess like are they playing are. They playing to save Marvin job right now is that is that your interpretation of what's left in this season. It's a very good question. I'll have to take the break to to figure out. Okay. Good enough wants to talk about that later on throughout the show. We continue to see if they can lay it on the Oakland, Raiders, the raiders who've been frisky recently, not so frisky today. The Bengals are like you don't come to our house tried to play our game and win. Instead, you might lose her down fourteen to nothing. We have a ton of actual again nine early games in the NFL not necessarily a ton of marquee matches put me and hawk. We make a marquee for you and coming up next. We'll tell you can the Vikings continue to have the good offense times rolled. That's next operation of upon ESPN radio the ESPN app.
