"Supply chain will ultimately Michigan said yes and Ford's moving forward with this plant. And this, of course, comes as Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to be meeting with official in China in Munich rather, but from China later this week. And you might have mentioned this. Is this, did this, the plans for this start post IRA or beforehand? Was it already in the works? Well, we reported as recently as the end of last year that Virginia had kind of spoken with Ford about this. My understanding from sources is that it moved very quickly. And even in the days leading up to the announcement that politically this was really tricky. But it's something that's been in the works. And I can tell you I've covered a lot of these plant announcements. When a company looks at sites, they look at what many in one go, they get all of them to play off against each other and they take the one that has the best incentives and that's the easiest to do for them financially. Yeah, we've heard this playbook before. All right, we've got a really I've got a really important question for you. Super Bowl commercials. There were so much an electric vehicles. What was your takeaway from it? And I personally like the electric slide. I think it was the I was really excited this year about Super Bowl commercials from the EV perspective because last year remember Tesla does not advertise and yet if you look at the data, there was a huge spike in Tesla search interest following the Super Bowl. This year Bloomberg NES crunches the numbers and EV commercials outdo combustion engine commercials three to one. And I think that says everything. I like the GM one with Will Ferrell. I'm a Will Ferrell fan more than anything else. So you can tell us. Right, or whatever. But you know, I just thought it was fascinating how big they went. And they leaned into this sort of Super Bowl style. Yeah, fascinating. And there was like the anti Tesla ads though, which is interesting too. And I wonder what you thought about that. Did you have any take on the anti Tesla rhetoric coming out of the Super Bowl? This happens all the time. People poking fun at the market incumbent. On the other side of the table would argue that's just free advertising for Tesla without them having to do anything. And a lot of the pro Tesla voices out there retail investors so on would make that argument. You don't need a corporate communications department, don't need a PR department and the stock is up 7% as we speak. All right, Ed ludlow. Hey Nancy, thanks Carol on this the 5th anniversary the mass murders at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland, Florida, President Biden is offering condolences today to the families of three students who were killed 5 others wounded in another campus shooting this time at Michigan state university. The president came to the national association of counties to discuss the federal infrastructure funds they can tap into, but first Michigan state. It's a family's worst nightmare. It's happening far too often in this country. There's one thing we know to be true. We have to do something to stop gun violence ripping apart our communities. There is no rationale for assault weapons and magazines that hold 57 bullets. President

Look, obviously it's higher than we would like it to be, which is why it's the President Biden's top priority. We know it affects consumers every day when they go to the grocery store and such. But the reality is there is some good news here, which is to say, you are starting to see housing housing costs are starting to cool, core inflation is starting to cool. However, food costs rose more than 11% from last year. That did offset declines in gasoline prices, but rents continued to climb. China's CPI accelerated slightly in September, a pickup in food prices offset the effects of lockdowns. The CPI rose 2.8% last month from a year earlier. Tom, Lisa John, the House select January 6th committee will focus on the role of extremists in the insurrection at the capitol. Bloomberg's head Baxter has the story. Committee member Jamie Raskin says it will continue building on the case that Donald Trump had a hand in trying to overthrow the results of the election and led to the advance that day on January 6th. Raskin says it will focus on what's become known as team crazy. A group of people around Trump, Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani among them Raskin says one of the meetings is unlike anything in American history. Now the committee is also announced postponement of Thursday's hearing because it is getting so much new information on White House ties. In San Francisco, I'm Ed Baxter, Bloomberg radio. Texas governor Greg Abbott is joining the call for the hallway video from rob elementary school on the day of the massacre to be released to the public. "Chance of that, but Wall Street seems to think differently as articulated by legendary investor Leon cooperman. Chair of omega advisers he was on Bloomberg surveillance talking about this this morning, give him a listen. I think that ultimately the price of oil or the fed or maybe the strong dollar will lead us into a recession. And when the recession hits, which will be a 2023 event when it is not 2022, that the market will find the bottom somewhere between 35 or 40% below its peak of 4800. So next year, worse than this year? What does that mean for 24? Let's assemble the panel, Rick Davis, Jeannie Chan xana with us. Here on the Monday edition or signature panel Bloomberg politics contributors on sound ons. What I meant to say, Jeannie, we've got some trouble here if that's the case. People are feeling the impact of inflation now and we'd see the results. According to Lee cooperman by next year in the form of a recession, of course, some people think we are already in one, the governor of New Hampshire over the weekend on the Sunday talk shows was calling for the firing of Janet Yellen for misleading the American people. The messaging again seems to come back into our conversation on an almost daily basis. What is The White House need to be saying about it? You know, they need to be addressing it head on, and you know, we heard sununu, as you mentioned over the weekend, you know, it is astonishing to me because when the job numbers came out, oh, what was that Friday? What we were told in a briefly in the minute that Joe Biden talked about them was this eased recession fears, and yet over the weekend Gina raimondo aside, there was this drum beat that that's not the case. And so, you know, they need to come out and address this and they need to stop stepping on their own good messages. And I'll give you another one. Gas prices, gas prices, gas prices, oil prices going down. Why aren't they talking more about that? So they've got to do that and you know, I said on Friday they should not have melded the EO with the jobs numbers. They should have done both if they could have. Yeah, the roe V wade, the job speech because that does muddy the waters there and the one thing I heard I will tell you from progressives through today was they didn't listen to a word about the jobs all they heard was the president say go vote and that annoyed them and annoyed as a kind way of saying how they felt about that message. Rick, you've spent a career advising politicians sometimes when they were not doing well. Is it time for like a victory parade down Pennsylvania avenue to draw people's attention to what has happened? Well, I'm not exactly sure declaring victory at this stage is going to actually reconnect Joe Biden with the American people. You've got all the jobs back that were lost in COVID. Isn't that at least in self worth something? I think it is. This administration has chosen to sort of kick it to the curb as jeanie said, they spent more time, frankly, talking about abortion than the success of their jobs initiatives. But the problem is you're in this weird pinch, right? Because in order to ensure that we don't have a recession, joblessness has to go up, our dear friend, Larry summers, talks about the sacrifice ratio, and we need to lose 10 million jobs in order to stop from having a recession. And calls pal two optimistic. So, I mean, we're in a very strange environment where success is failure and failure would be success. More unemployment will encourage us not to go into recession. And so the minute Joe Biden goes out there, his own team is saying things that are sort of the antithesis of declaring success on the jobs front. We had kind of the opposite today, the president on the south lawn to celebrate the new gun safety Bill, it was a huge ceremony. My goodness, half of Capitol Hill was there along with stakeholders along with victims, family members from mass shootings. In one of them showed up, talked about this briefly with Jane hall to heckle the president to stand up and interrupt this event that's Manuel Oliver, the father one of the students killed at the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school. He is now an activist, of course. I want you to listen to your President Biden's going to be talking about the signing of this bill and you'll hear what happens from there. Today's many things has proved that despite the naysayers, we can make meaningful progress on dealing with gun violence. Because make no mistake. Sit down, you'll hear what I have to say. If you think the Manuel Oliver now stands up, we can not hear what he's saying

"Number one killer of children in the United States of America The number one killer more than car accidents more than cancer Over the last two decades more school aged children have died from guns than on duty police officers and active duty military combined Think about that More kids and on duty cops killed by guns More kids than soldiers killed by guns For God's sake how much more carnage are we willing to accept How many more innocent American lives must be taken before we say enough enough I know that we can't prevent every tragedy But here's what I believe we have to do Here's what the overwhelming majority of American people believe we must do Here's what the family is in Buffalo And you've Aldi in Texas told us we must do We need to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines And if we can't ban assault weapons then we should raise the age to purchase them from 18 to 21 Strengthen the background checks and act safe storage law and red flag laws Repeal the immunity that protects gun manufacturers and liability Address the mental health crisis deepening the trauma of gun violence as a consequence of that violence These are rational common sense measures Here's what it all means It all means this We should reinstate this all women's band and high capacity magazines that we passed in 1994 with bipartisan support in Congress and the support of law enforcement 9 categories of semi-automatic weapons were included in that band Like AK-47s and AR-15s And in the ten years it was law mass shootings went down But after Republicans let the law expire in 2004 and those weapons were allowed to be sold again mass shootings tripled Those are the facts A few years ago the family of the inventor of the AR-15 said he would have been horrified to know that his design was being used to slaughter children and other innocent lives Instead of being used as a military weapon in the battlefields as was designed That screws dying for Enough Enough We should limit how many rounds of weapon can hold Why in God's name should an ordinary citizen be able to purchase an assault weapon that holds 30 round magazines that let mass shooters fire hundreds of bullets in a matter of minutes The damage is so devastating and you violate parents had to do DNA swabs to identify the remains of their children 9 and ten year old children enough we should expand background checks To keep guns out of the hands of felons fugitives and those under restraining orders Stronger background checks are something that the vast majority of Americans including the majority of gun owners agree on I also believe we should have safe stories laws And personal liability for not locking up your gun The shooter in sandy hook came from home full of guns There were two easy access That's how he got the weapons The weapon he used to kill his mother and then murdered 26 people including 21st graders If you own a weapon you have a responsibility to secure it Every responsible gun owner agrees To make sure no one else can have access to it To lock it up to have trigger locks And if you don't and something bad happens you should be held responsible We should also have national red flag laws So that a parent a teacher a counselor can flag for a court that a child a student a patient is exhibiting violent tendencies threatening classmates We're experiencing suicidal thoughts It makes them a danger to themselves or to others 19 states in the District of Columbia have red flag laws The Delaware law is named after my son attorney general Beau Biden Fort hood Texas 2009 13 dead and more than 30 injured Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland Florida 2018 17 dead 17 injured In both places countless others suffering with invisible wounds red flag laws could have stopped both these shooters And you valdi the shooter was 17 when he asked his sister to buy him an assault weapon Knowing he'd be denied because he was too young to purchase one himself She refused But as soon as he turned 18 he purchased two assault weapons for himself Because in Texas you can be 18 years old to buying us all up and even though you can't buy a pistol in Texas until you're 21 We can't ban assault weapons as we should We must at least raise the age to be able to purchase one to 21 Look I know some folks will say 18 year olds can serve in the military And fire those weapons But that's what training and supervision by the best trained experts in the world Don't tell me raising the age won't make a difference Enough we should repeal the liability shield It would often protect gun manufacturers from being sued for the death and destruction caused by their weapons They're the only industry in this country that has that kind of immunity Imagine imagine if the tobacco industry had been immune from being sued where we'd be today The gun industry's special protections are outrageous It must end And let there be no mistake about the psychological trauma that gun violence leaves behind Imagine being that little girl that brave little girl in your valdi Who spared blood offer murdered friend's body on her own face to lie still among the corpses in her classroom and pretend she was dead in order to stay alive Imagine imagine what it'd be like for her to walk down the hallway of any school again Imagine what it's like for children who experience this kind of trauma every day in school in the streets and communities all across America Imagine when it's like for so many parents tug their children goodbye in the morning not sure whether they'll come back home Unfortunately too many people don't have to imagine that at all Even before the pandemic young people were already hurting There's a serious use mental health crisis in this country We have to do something about it That's why mental health is the heart of my unity agenda that I laid out in the State of the Union address this year We must provide more school counselors more school nurses more mental health services for students and for teachers More people volunteering as mentors to help young people succeed More.

"Never heard of him. Okay. Lawyers for Nicholas, Chris. Nicholas Cruz. Today, with the plea expected next week. And now the man faces a trial to determine his sentence. It's an attempted aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon. How do you wish to plead? I plead guilty. A South Florida community now has closure after attorneys announced Nicholas Cruz will plead guilty to the murders of 14 students and three staff members at a Parkland Florida high school. His decision to plead guilty comes unexpectedly and Mitch and eniko dorat were the only victims parents at the hearing. They said we want justice. It's time. By that, they mean they want the death sentence. Women only the only parents from all those kids who were killed who came to his hearing was just one one for one child? That's weird. I am 23 years old. And how far did you get in school? I got to 11th grade. Do you read and write the English language? Yes, ma'am. Cruz's lawyers offered to plead guilty in hopes of getting life in prison without the possibility for parole. But prosecutors refused. They said he deserved the death sentence, and cruise's lawyers may be able to tell the jury when they determine his sentence that since he accepted responsibility and pleaded guilty, he saved the victim's family an additional phase of the trial. That's according to a former Florida prosecutor, on Valentine's Day in 2018, Cruz arrived on the campus of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school in an Uber, and a stairwell he assembled an AR-15 rifle he had bought, then opened fire, and afterwards blended in with his victims as police stormed the building. They caught him an hour later, walking through a residential neighborhood. He reportedly had been a troubled student, and his mother worried about his emotional state. Do you suffer from any physical or mental illness? I was told in the past, but I don't believe I have any issue. And the day after the shooting community members of the Fort Lauderdale area held a vigil for the victims soon after student activists created March for our lives and rallied hundreds of thousands around the nation for tighter gun laws, and Florida enacted a new law in which an armed guard must be on campuses during class hours. Right, okay, so recalling this story, the actual guard who was on duty didn't go in was a pussy. Mia was hiding. He didn't go in to help the children. Hid. This Nicholas Cruz, he had been alerted to the FBI was well aware of him that people in multiple, I think calls had come in about him in years past none of that made it back into the report, did it? No, no. Well, let's take bets on this. This morning, new images of Hillary Clinton, leaving the UC Irvine medical center in Southern California, where her husband, former president Bill Clinton is hospitalized being treated in the ICU for a blood infection, also known as sepsis. Sepsis can be a serious matter. We are concerned about a decrease in blood pressure. And we also need to monitor the heart. Doctors at UC Irvine medical center are stressing Clinton's diagnosis is not related to COVID and is not related to his history of heart disease. According to the hospital, Clinton was given an IV and is responding well to antibiotics. So sepsis. Wait, wait, wait. Wait. It's not related to COVID. It's not related to his heart condition. Was it related to the vaccine? We don't know. Oh, what is this? What? Sepsis. That's not can be dangerous. You can die real easy from sepsis. Oh yeah, especially at his age and with the Hillary assassination group nearby. So she's there. So now if we were a regular news network, know what we'd be doing. We'd be getting the obits ready. We've got to get the reality ready. We've got to get now the timing. What do we need? If Bill Clinton dies, that's a big event in America. So we have to stop everything. And do retrospectives and have processions and 21 weeks. Yeah, a week of no news, precisely. So when would the best be advantageous to use that when the supermarkets are empty? What point will that be a good one? When people are striking and doubting everywhere, hey. When we see it, we'll know it. Yeah. And then it'll be something. It'll be just starting to happen. It'll be a breaking news or be something that's coming onto the scene and then Clinton dies, so we don't complete distraction. He may be dead already. That's what I'm thinking, actually. Just they need they know they need one. He might have been dead for months. And for years. Who knows? Well, she was doing his visiting the freezer. Got a surprising note? Our producers. As much as I enjoyed the show, when something that is popular in the Midwest is mentioned on the show and you and John usually are completely unaware of its existence. Yeah? Meat sticks were a staple of my diet growing up. My mother used to make them from scratch anyone who deer hunts is proud to carry their personal recipe of meat sticks into the bar to hand out and brag about. Yes, we actually eat random meat from a guy's pocket in a bar out here. I don't know about eating meat from a pocket. But that's this. C rock sent this. Please, if you have meat stick recipes, especially for game ah, please and the melon will post them. Yeah. Sounds groovy, well, with the meat sticks that we got. That's what it was in reference to. Yeah, obviously, because we were mocking the meat sticks. Well, I just thought it was and I was also Mikey. Did the guy defense summer sausage? I don't think so. No, of course not. Indefensible product. Very popular in the Midwest. I want to thank Gerald for forwarding build back bullshit dot com to the note show. So creative. I love that. Very, very creative. Now, I did get a response from a tobacco lawyer about my vape wars report. Oh, good. Okay. And of course, I know the lawyer Cynthia. She's the one I met in Florida, who was pushing back last time, and although it's very interesting because she completely believes what she's saying, but misses the point, the point is, a fine industry, the vaping industry got edged out by big tobacco and government regulation in collusion. That's what happened here. So I'll just go through her points. Views tobacco flavored E cigs did get pre market authorization. But the joke is no one buys them. So she's clearly not working for that company. The jewel has not been killed off, as I stated, in fact, the FDA is not ruled on their application yet. That's kind of the same thing with the corrupt FDA. If you don't have a ruling and someone else does, that's kind of being killed off. And she continues, there's an FTC case pending where a decision will be made whether to unwind the they've been killed off. Don't care how you want to characterize it. Then she says British American tobacco recently won a case against iqos. Yes, as we mentioned this, resulting in Altria, having to halt imports of I cross into the U.S. in less than 60 days. This decision cost British American tobacco Altria and PMI about $17 billion in stock market losses on announcement day. I'd like to correct you, Cynthia. It's not stock market losses. It's valuation. It's not a loss in that.

"Russell 105 50 K f Y I. David Hogue. This this guy you remember from the This. Don't Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High school shooting in Florida. David Hope was the kid that got all of the attention all the hype. He was at all of the events. He was in all the rallies and still couldn't decide where he was. When the shooting happened. It was a kid isn't there I was in geometry class. And then the next interview was well, I heard it was happening and I got on my bike and I got on my camera equipment recording equipment, and I wrote to the school as fast as I could. He's just a liar is an opportunist is what he is. And he is now the face of the young face of gun control in this nation. He wants to join. Cancel culture as my pillow is now the next the next target of the left because the CEO and founder of my pillow, Mike him. Hello. My pillow was a big trump supporter. Hey, was actually Trump. I think he was a media buyer at one point or had something do with their advertising campaign strategy. During the campaign, they try and take him out. David Hogan is announced that he is starting his own pillow company so he can take out the my pillow guide. He's a guy day log that I didn't I didn't want to pick on early on because I was like, whatever. He's a kid, but now it's too late because now he's going all in and that's fine. I mean, I was. It's a great They picked a kid. They wanted to be the face of gun control. He has no control over whether Congress is gonna vote down gun control measures, particularly Republican Congress. And the Democrats now will use him as the face because they have the ability to control firearms. But now he's stepping in to be political. So okay, now you've kind of crossed that line where it's fair game. You're only doing it as an opportunist like Mike said, But he's having some difficulties. He tweeted out. I need a unionized pillow manufacturer in the US because we're having a hard time finding one If you know one, please. DM poor David s. So he has this idea He didn't do any research. Apparently just said Mike Lindell in my pillow bad I'm gonna create liberal pillow or Hugged David hug pillow dot com or something like that Snowflake Pillow Cos. What states would you say, are the best to start a business in and why so states that are not California cost of living is way too high. That's David Hawk the liberal himself, saying that California's cost of living is too high. California are less then. Yeah, he went on, he said Sorry. I sound a little bit out of it in this video because I'm very tired and I wanted to give you on update on the pillow company. We're going to start small and do it right, Providing you with the best product we possibly can. And it may take time. What he's doing is he can't find a union shop that's going to make it for under $80 a pillow, so he's kind of back. He's painted himself into a corner. He's done. No research he once again, like all little liberal snowflakes think the world should just be handed to it. Or they think the world exists, in theory that all there has to be this and there has to be that. But the reality is That's not the way it works. And here's another interesting thing reading this book. In the book. They talk about the large immigration population in the United States and how the immigration swell in the United States took a lot of these jobs because they'll do him for lower wages. So the union efforts were actually hurt by their pro immigration policies and stances. Same thing with David Hog..

Our next collection program starts next Monday, February 8 Thank you for listening to South Florida Sunday on the stations of Harvard Radio West Palm Beach. So I have the pleasure to speak with my friend, the former Broward sheriff's Guide Israel who is very knowledgeable on this topic of serving warrants and SWAT teams because he was the sheriff of Broward County, and that was your job. Were you ever in a SWAT team? And how are you? I'm doing well, you and all the listeners well, and actually, I was they swiped commander who had quite a few years when I was a member of the Fort Lauderdale Police department. So you know, I'm very familiar, very experienced with the serving of want and hostage situations and barricaded subjects. And what have you know You were replaced by the governor because you had two different shootings that you had to deal with one at the airport for Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and the other one at Marjorie. Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. And, Of course, those are two very different news stories. And we're not going to talk directly about the FBI agents and what led to their shooting. But we're going to talk in generalities about how to address serving a search warrant and careful risk assessment and the protocols for being so at least when you were head of B s O So can you give me a little bit of background on serving search warrants? What did you tell your deputies to do in order to protect them? Well, the first thing you wanna do is probably one of the most important things over search warrant is to do as comprehensive a threat assessment. As possible. You want to know everything you know about the interior of the home of the structure to be searched. You want to know everything you can know about. If it's an arrest warrant or the people in the homes or there's a target president expected target to be inside the residence of the structure. You want to do everything you can to know about them where they formed that they purchased firearms. And what have you You want to know if there were Children inside the home? There's just that whole bunch of things that need to be investigated and looked at Before you begin to make the plan for actually serving the warrant. So on that list and speaking hypothetically and not specifically about what happened, But Thies ring doorbells. They are good to help homeowners protect their homes and their lives from someone who might be breaking in, But they can also be used in a 1 80 against law enforcement. Can they not? Is that part of the risk assessment to know if there's one of those installed myself? We have, and I know you're familiar with this. There are no knock search warrant that you can apply for and ask the judge for no, not where you can make a dynamic entry. Go inside without announcing that they're very, very set of special circumstances, Most warrants or knock and announce. You want to let the people know inside that you are the police to actually avoid a confrontation. You don't want people thinking people are Bursting into their homes. Even though war enforcement is it hired with little, say, police or sheriff And you're shouting Sheriff police as you move through the structure, But if I were going to do it a knock and announce search warrants, we will coach Then we train that you want to stay out of a fatal funnel area and a fatal funnel is that whole layer that door entrance where You come through, and if anybody is ready to shoot, you're very, very, very vulnerable At the time. You would want to stay out of the fatal funnel, and you would want to stay under cover and concealment of the home or depending on the nature of the one. You might have team members, which shields and doing whatever you can to protect yourself. So we're speaking with the former Broward Sheriff Scott Israel about protocols and what should be done serving a search warrant. It's when would you and why would you serve a no knock war? As opposed to announcing one is if you field subject inside is on, but you put on himself if you feel that maybe it's a drug warrant, life were no knock search warrant. If you feel that knocking on the door would give the suspect a chance to destroy the evidence. I mean, if you're doing your search will be going in there to recover evidence. It's still yesterday. Today and tomorrow. The most important thing about a warrant is the safety of those inside and the safety of the officers. And you know the law enforcement that are trying to execute. So it really wouldn't matter if you had a ring Doorbell camera if they're announcing that they are there and that they are coming in when you knock and announce You're going to give them a reasonable amount of time. And that's why you want to know the layout of that house and how the house is structured because on some houses if you knock in announced and you hear person inside, it's fake no more than 15 seconds. Come to the door. I'm sure there are homes where you might be upstairs or might be a minute to get down the stairs or, you know, depending on the size of the home, But you when you knock and announce, want to give the people inside the home of the fifth at a reasonable time to come to the door and open it up. You hope but not breach the door..
