"We could wait. Weakened by number one Know I'm a night. I am not drinking every night. I'm not doing the beer parties. I'm not playing hearts until midnight. How many credits you need? Thio 18 graduate. Oh, you need a mere 120. Someone 20 shot. Actually, I think it's 100 or 1 24 shy. You know why you though? Let me say that things every day so much. I want to be with my mom once a week. And so I I had to choose between in in person, class or online class. Well, You're socially distance and everything's fine. But if if I did that, then I couldn't visit Mom. I mean, they just would not allow it because of the exposure. Some doing the online thing. Lord, have mercy Have things changed. Oh, my gosh. Everything's online. All the communications everything the test track, you know, that's that's not good kids need to be done. You know? Well, thanks for calling me a kid. I appreciate that, Danny. Think about it. Don't don't dismiss this. I mean, we could We could bling out our doorman fact you know, we ought to do You know, what we have to do is we ought to get to dorm rooms and then make open concept. Take down the wall and then bunk beds. No, we could put in a you know, put in a big way. You know, we are not in the same bed, Paolo. No, but I mean, we'll have separate. I mean, if we could redo the floor, maybe you know what? We may need three. Good idea. When we may need three rooms. We have separate lives. Okay, Hugo, One kind. I'll kowtow another I kind of was hoping you would help me on getting going. You know, I did write one. College paper. It was only three or four days. What I did on my summer vacation wasn't for me. What would you write about? Well, here's the deal. Joe was at a low point, and he was trying to It was the senior year at Colorado State. I won't get him in trouble. Once the provost on the Treasury have signed off. I think you're okay. Well, I just helped. And so he was at a low point. And He needed to write. A paper like a six page paper. And that I mentioned is a low point senior. You know, he was due by noon that eternity in by noon. Joe, and so he had some of it started. And so it was on Trump who's during the election 2016 election. And I said, Well, What's your Professor. Think of Trump's Oh, she hates him. It's all I need to know. And I banged out that paper I've got to be. You've got Toby. Yes. Yeah, You've got to know your audience that's for that's right. You know, I'm not. I'm not. I'm not proud of it. And the argument with a professor, You know what you and I will say this he only be that I got in college after I got focused. Was in a sociology class where I took on the professor. Arrest for seasoned. He's No. I'm in a student. Oh, come on, anyway, So anyway, I got sideways with him, and he said something I said. I just don't agree with that. Can we debate, he says there's no debate in this class. And next thing I know my mark started going to class. I really gotta be. So that's a classy professor. That's what it is, You know, you know, did your parents used to give you like a quarter for a nay or anything like that? No. My parents said, But I got a quarter for sees. Chrissy Yeah. Tommy struggled in school. He was very smart, but he just struggled. Slow pie time I came around and started getting Days. They just left me alone. And I was good. You know, that was fine with me. Dad never wrote my ass about anything on studying. My mom's a perfectionist. And I learned a lot from her just watching the way she's my my upbringing was they could see what I could do in school and my mother. Had me Should be out of balance cash doors. And when I was in the sixth grade I was doing the banking for the store were little store. Remember Time s O. I did all the banking because she thought it's getting going to college. You know, Hominy and my dad taught me about Obviously this Coming teacher cashiers to count back change. You know, I used to, but I gave up on that partially because almost 80% of our transactions now credit card. But when the first cash registers came out that would count. You know, we'll tell you how much changed. I didn't let him use him to convince that I taught them how addiction Because I was convinced that it just became so automatic. Someone could handle $10 bill. They put an extra zero on It's like Here's your change. $91.12 Let me tell you a story. There's a shortage of change right now. I've got a buddy that lives another weird thing that lives in for modern main. I can't remember where They've lived anyway, his wife took in $100 in change to this store. They gave her $140 store credit. That's how starved they are for change. They can't get changed from the banks or anything. The coins. Yeah, So I started asking questions. He said. Yeah, he said, I've been rolling coins a week, he says we're going to do it again, I said You got $100 for the coins. Times two. He says Isis. We just throw our changing forever. But he said he could get $140 for $100 and change. I'm taking it in. Why would they do that? Because they need change. I know, but we'll get you back in the store, too. I think it's it's great. I mean, we just don't mean cash sales were just not. I mean, that's what and that's where I feel for hold up now because holdup men today Have to work. 345 after knockoff, probably. Five times more liquor stores now than they did in the seventies. This is so funny. I paid for my first installment of college with a credit card. I'm going. Are you kidding me? Remember these guys? You just knock off one liquor store. They're they're done for a week. Get this now They're working a lot of money. How much do you think a credit our costs at college right now? Well, let's see when I went I you It was 70 like $70. So I bet it's probably $170.30. It was like 20 or 21 when I was your way older. I guess I am. But anyway, right now, it's $509 a credit 509 off from 500, Not a penny more. That's what I would do. It took the credit card. They even charged me a service because you know you got a two and a quarter percent or whatever you paid credit card. I had to pay that on top of the tuition. So, so they charge you for using a credit card. Yes, sir. But it was convenient. I didn't want to give him my bank account numbers, so That was another story. Why don't you want to give us our bank again? And then I realized there was quite a major difference between this gallon May so I just said now, how about we do a credit card? So okay? So let's think about the rooming together. And that would be five. Got a roommate? Her name's Jane, and she's a good kisser. Trust me. Jane would love it. If we Jane and Beth Both would love it if we were all college. Yeah, I think that'd be a good social experiment. Yeah. How far away is our faraway is our college It's marrying college. Very well. I'm sorry I graduated from Marion College. Marion, Indiana. Okay, And so I had continued on now. They're Indiana Wesleyan. Okay, but that's so it's not bad. It's gas City granite City up there. Well, you know any colleges? Gas city is at a party school. Yeah. Is it a party school? Know it's is Christians. That's important..

Then that is a very big part of what we're doing and we have seven incredible brand partners. We WanNa tell you about here today. but first we should. We should talk about just as in the in the team right Jackson. Yeah that's really what it's all about you know we're like we're we're like the gravel celebrities. Dial it down bat. I mean you know Ted King we are not nor a Yuri Hauswald or Colin Strickland. Pete Steno we are not what we all are in. This is unique. We are all fast cat coaches and all that. That's a tagline. I've used it when I've pitched. Sponsors brand partners is All the writers are fast cat coaches and we are all former professional level air quotes in level road and mountain bike. Racers Jake Right Leschi coach. Jake you've heard here on the on the podcast. He race for the national team. As a junior went to Marion College race. Race there on a ton of collegiate races Jackson Raised for I'M GONNA. Watch this bad but advantage endeavor benefits. That's when I first came across Jake. And then he raised further. Priority Health Professional cycling team. That's what the team I coached in two thousand six and I think priority health went on to become fissile in Jake raced for the rite aid. Team rite aid. They had a cycling team. You know like the like and it's like the pharmacy stores while. Yeah Yeah Man. Where are those sponsors these day now? Yeah J. Grace for them and then he raised for Kenda the Kenda. What's the energy shot? Five Hour Energy. Yeah Kim five hour energy. Yeah and for a STYLUS RIGHT. Exactly yes you. I forgot Jake Jake race professional road for a long time. I mean he's a Bee's man is a beast. I mean he's kind of a local legend in the Upper Midwest. If you've ever ridden with him you will come to know what we call Jacob Pacing where. It's like motor pacing. Drafting off of him. He can just go and go and go and he's got a he's got a blog back when blogging was was the thing like ten years ago. What was the name of it? It was like something Jake this not jake. The snake anyway. I'm Google Jay crowder Leschi blog. But Jake likes to ride a lot and he likes to ride far long distances. I mean kind of comedy in in her her podcast a couple of weeks ago and Jake last winter road from one great lake across Michigan to the other short ashore and I saw his social media posts in a kid with him. Jake your shoe in for the dirty Kanza that he's GonNa be a dark horse. I was about to say just based on on this. He's he's perfectly suited for the suffering. That is to come. I think so. And he'll love it and so we can jake win the dirty Kanza matters. Can he finish in Strut his stuff and walk? The Walk Co absolutely can go top ten. I don't know maybe also kind of comes down to. His goal is one of the things about this team. We should talk about is. We're not really put together a team to get results. We're putting together a team to help you. The listener get faster. That's our mission to help your back faster. And that's why we're going. We're all coaches. This is our job and we WANNA come out and meet you so come by the Expo area. We got a big big What's the word like just making a big to do this? We got a sprinter van. We have a ten by twenty tent. Setup it's going to be like a apple genius bar come in there and made is you can meet coach. J. Can in myself and and you Jackson and we're we you know you can snap a pick for the grams You can get on. We'll do soundbites for the podcast. We'll little cool sound clips possibly some some videos from you all and you know we'll we'll show you the fast cat gravel team bike and we'll get into what that is and why those brand partners We're we're lucky to be working with. In how those Would kind of help you with your gravel racing. Yeah I think it'll be really sweet. I mean it's sort of just like you said the apple genius bar concept of like you know. How can we help you and I mean I think there's these races are so hectic? There's a lot going on but sometimes all you need you know you don't need another like free coupon of You know like drink. Mix necessarily at like these these these expo boost but sometimes what you need is some real advice some some tried and true tips from the pros quote unquote to come in before the race about nutrition about you know Gear choice tire choice. And that's why we're here. You know we're we're we're here to help To Talk to you to kind of get embedded in the community and and make guys all the better cyclists and make you just you know help you feel better on your bike in training and in racing and just so we can all have a better experience. And that's I think the the biggest priority of all this stuff absolutely. We're bringing the VIBE. Yeah we'll be high rolling high big vibes. You know one of the things you just mentioned we will will have incentives to get into our our training plans. We will definitely help you out there and one of the things when I was thinking about this. Is You know we're going to meet you the day before the race and at that point all the hey is in the barn and we. Can't you know give you a training plan that magically overnight you benefit from for the race the next day we can talk about the fundamentals which are gonna be equipment choice And then our podcast. Gels blocks bars every thirty minutes. We'll talk with you about that. You know we'll talk with you about hydration logistics which are different every race. But you still need physiologically there are. There's requirements is not logistics. It's one to two bottles per hour. So we'll we'll talk with you about that and then we'll when we high five you at the finish line We'll be able to talk with you about what what when you go home. And what your future goals. Are you know what kind of training and or coaching that? You should get into for the rest of your season and that'll be especially relevant at the early season races. But yeah that's that's one of the goals like if we could do an expo right now in January. That would be fine because then it'd be like okay. Here's the you know you want to do. Suites by based training now and then switched to based race and do some intervals and and and then okay this year a race is you know crusher in the. Tushar you know you WanNa work on your hill climbing power so forth so forth. Let's go back to the team. Yes because I think we lost over bill and we because we also got Isaiah. Coach is a coach is coach is on the team. He retired at the end of twenty nineteen. So he's he's still like pro level fitness power watts and he was on the three. Oh three cycling team. They raised all the big races over in Europe tour. Utah he'll Radlinski th the the whole. Shebang is as been living the pro-life for the last several years in in you know like following a structured training plan and doing his veto twos one mentors all the time trial intervals. Isaiah's specialty was stage racing and particularly uphill time trialing during the stage racing. If you're a student of our podcast has mentioned that but Isaiah is. He's retired now in air quotes just like Phil and Phil Gaming Fast Cat Athlete. In Peterson. Peterson yeah I mean as it's Ian Boswell all those guys Isaiah in I were at a cyclocross race this past September. We had a fast cat tent there where you know helping athletes and kind of doing the early version of what we're GONNA do this year. Isaiah says we should start a team and I was like yeah. That's a great idea. And that afternoon I went home and I emailed you and Jake and Isaiah and I'm like let's do this. Here's the concept and that is as more or less responsible for the where we are today. The he's he hatched the he planted the seed. And I think it's a great idea because we we all do work together for for fast cat and this is something that we love to do outside of our jobs coaching. But it really kind of blends the two together We'll go out and get experience in these races and then be able to coach people from that experience. But let's see what else are we say about is? Am newkirk other than he's a great guy? Suber good coach. He knows and he's he's level one cycling cycling coach right and he's like a student of the. Science of of coaching has a lot of experience in that realm also raced on the collegiate circuit and He's an absolute machine on a bicycle. He is a beast. He is Especially looking forward to the crusher in the future which we just got into last night. That's why I mentioned it and Jake will be there to both of those guys who listeners just visually. They're they're climbers there. They have the climber Physique. You know hundred forty pounds hundred and forty five pounds very light. They go uphill fast. So when you talk about gravel racing and like amid south in a dirty cancer midsouth has less than five thousand feet of climbing. So that's GonNa be a roller style. Course you know like a Ted king constant pace in you know the big powerful like thor shove style riders but when you talk about the crusher in the Tushar or the Belgian waffle ride was so much climbing and then it favors the climber Guys and that's what Jake in Asia are and so They are targeting those those races. It's GonNa be sweet and then and then there's you in..
