"Like party tip, eat an entire pizza, whatever it is. Be good to yourself, you know, this is partying at partying isn't just like consuming alcohol and drugs. It isn't always mixers. Yeah, but so the party tip that I read right after the pandemic started was party tip. Play video games for weeks on end or I don't know what we'll edit this part in. No, we won't. We'll pretend we edited it in and yeah, party tip play video games forever, so I'm like, yep, that sounds about right right now. And what better way to go back to your childhood because I've noticed something. I was kind of musing over this in the past week since we had last talked. And I've come to realize that playing video games is an instant way is one of the more powerful ways I should say, the most powerful way that I found to re experience your childhood, because you can have photo albums and home movies and stuff like that. Nothing quite like video games reawakens that muscle memory, but the flip of the power switch and the press at the start button. Why do you think that is? I think maybe it's something for someone who has ADHD like I do. Connecting physical activity and working with one's hands and focusing on that interactivity kind of creates intense memories. I can remember watching video streams with Mario party and then I'm instantly taken back to sitting on the couch with me and my sister and our two friends constantly and furiously rubbing circles to our blistered hands. Rotating the control stick on an N 64. Destroying in 64 controllers. Grinding it into dust. Oh yeah. The old mortar and pestle. Yeah. You had to, you had to wipe the dust out of your N 64 controller after you were done, you know?

"Were, if you're just like, ah, Taylor Swift tickets, everything would have been like, I understand. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way. Yeah. It's like we were all united in fighting ticketmaster that day. I was in more than one meeting where somebody was like, I'm here, I'm paying attention, but I'm also trying to buy Taylor Swift tickets. Yeah, I was wrong. Yeah, which means I'm not here and I'm not paying attention. I wasn't at my regular computer. I was at the because I was on the radio. My podcasting setup. So 2015. Everything was great. I was on my 2015. So the whole thing is ridiculous. It's finally come true. It's just 6 o'clock at night. And immediately crashes and puts me in the back of the queue this happens three times. It's about 6 hours so it gives you the page that it's like you have tickets, do you want to buy them and you say yes and it's as just kidding. So then you finally get it. Oh my God. And it's ticketmaster. So you're looking at it like a picture of soldier field and it's like, and then here's the part that, again, I got through, I managed to take it. I feel very lucky. I'm going to complain about the process of winning. Just bear with me. It's fine. This is the worst fucking video game I've ever played in my entire life. Because there's just lighting up seats on a giant picture of soldier field and then they're fading out. And you have to decide. So you have to, it's like I need 6 tickets. I need them all together. There's like clumps of two and four everywhere. There's packages, all the tickets are being bought by the 17,000 other people that are trying to buy tickets. And you're like, okay, I'm going to hit refresh the sections around where I want to sit or lit up. I'm going to double click on those and it's going to zoom very slowly. And while the zooming is happening, sold out. I'm going to wash the seats that have been available disappear. So then I'm going to refresh. I'm only going to zoom halfway. Yeah. I have one of those Logitech mice where you can undo the wheeled attempts and you can smooth scroll. So I'm going to figure out how to roll it exactly halfway and so I get quick targets. They're not huge. They're just some click targets. Yeah. And then I'm going to try to click 6 times as fast as I can. When I say it's the worst video game ever made. I did this for a half an hour. Oh my God. The whole time I was like, this is so stupid. You know, I want 6 tickets. Like dinner's ready. How much I'm willing to pay? It's a computer. It says you're playing like scroll wheel arbitrage. Just like find 6 tickets near each other that with this total number, and then be like, these are your tickets. And I'd be like, thank you, sir. Here's what you're going to do. You're going to refresh a picture of a stadium. Some parts of the stadium will be blue. You're going to try to scroll in on a zoom on the blue parts to find little orange circles with stars in them. Then click on 6 of those. If you don't click on all 6 at once, someone can take them from you. Then you have to start over half an hour. Get all the way down. You're not good at this game. This sounds like a Mario party mini game that I would have hated on the Nintendo Switch. It was the worst video game I've ever played. I called my sister in the middle of this and I was like, I'm gonna cry, and she's like, are you in? I'm like, I'm in, but it's worse. This isn't even over yet. There's actually, there's one more layer of software chaos. Okay. To get in, I get the 6 tickets. They're in the car. They're not all together. I got four and two, I feel great. Hit the button. Save payment information, put in the three digit CVV on the card. Yeah. It doesn't go through. What the fuck? Try it again. It doesn't go through. What the fuck? Enter the card over again. Start from scratch. Put the card in. It doesn't go through. You try to pay off this card too many times. Dumps me back out. This is real thing happened. Right as you tell me, back out, I get a text message from my credit card. Fraud alert, were you trying to take a test? I was like, yes. I literally wrote yes, fuck you. And I was like, go ahead and try again. I was like, no, I can't play the video game for another four or 5 minutes. It's got the tickets. In the end, played the video. It was good at the video game, the second time around. Yeah. You know how you're playing old school Mario? And you're like, you kinda suck, and then you get into it. You kinda suck, and I don't know if this has ever happened to you. It's happening when I was a kid. There'd be like a power blip or the game would crash right at the end. I've got to do it again, and then the second time you really get at it. Yeah. Yeah. Perfect. All intended, actually. Ticketmaster, that's finally at 7 30. I played the video games paid with a different credit card. Okay. So my sister, Victoria's screenshot, and she called me, she was like, how do you feel? And I was like, I hate you. This has been one of the worst days. That was literally your day. That was what I did that day. Oh my God. The parts of this, right? And I've seen other ticket vendors, like there are ways to do this better. But it does not create the cultural moments that all the artists want. Right. You want ticketmaster to crush. That is a sign of success. You want there to be more demand than you have sales for.

"Everything I think about with parenting, like I'm thinking about now, but I often do with my own kids think they're out of childhood for way longer than they're in childhood. They're going to be living out of my house way longer than in my house. So I like to think about the process more than the outcome. Because whether or not I get my kid to sign up to learn Japanese today, okay, years 18 and above, they're making those decisions. But how cool? If I can help my kid learn a process where they pair their interest with taking an actionable step. And maintaining their interest and then maybe taking another actionable step. If I can have any impact on my child building what I call that circuit, that is going to be more helpful for my child and life than whether or not they took a Japanese class at age 12. So let's play that out because now we're going to kind of intersect this intervention with our own triggers, right? And that's where all the magic always happens, right? So I have this great conversation. And I finished like, wow, I crushed that moment of parenting, that felt uncomfortable, but it was new. I expressed interest and I expressed support, but I didn't take over, but now it's three days later, and he hasn't done anything. And I'm like this too. I can veer toward the more controlling side. After three days, I actually can feel in my body my heart racing. I'm like, oh my God, he didn't sign up though. He didn't ask me to sign up, but he never bought that book. And I did this intervention, and he didn't do anything. This is my trigger. This is my struggle. I think in that moment, one of the things that's powerful to consider. And I want to hear from you about this is what fast forward error am I have it. I'm in the moment where he didn't yet sign up for a Japanese class or a book. And if this is so triggering to me three days later, I've probably fast forwarded my kids lives like, I don't know, 6 months or a couple years. And I've predicted, I don't know, like they're a good for nothing person who will never be able to do. I don't know. So tell me, where does your fast forward thought go? Yeah, my fast forward thought, I would probably see him playing his Nintendo Switch, and then I fast forward into like, now you're 25 and you are still living with me and you're playing that Nintendo Switch. You still haven't learned Japanese, but not only have you not learned Japanese. You haven't learned anything else because you're still playing Mario party. Yeah, great. Just noticing that. Is huge.

"I'm doctor Becky, and this is good inside. And then I fast forward into like, now you're 25 and you are still living with me and you're playing that Nintendo Switch. You still haven't learned Japanese, but not only have you not learned Japanese, you haven't learned anything else because you're still playing Mario party. So I call these moments fast forward thought takeover. And we all have them me too. Your kid is struggling today, there hesitant to join a birthday party or they don't sign up for the course. They told you they want to take and all of a sudden we flash forward. And we see them as an adult who has no friends, or as an adult whose lazy and never gets anything done. And it's all our fault. No wonder it's so hard to stay grounded and calm. So what can we do in those moments?

"One of the reasons it's like if you just look at the number of milliseconds like if I Google Google tells me that a baseball swing requires a full 150 milliseconds to complete this takes into account the time for muscles to contract, move their attached limbs and bring the bat around at a speed close to 80 mph. And a 100 mph fastball, Google also tells me takes roughly 375 to 400 milliseconds to reach the plate, which is basically the blink of an eye, like literally. So you can swing faster than the ball gets to the plate, and you could, in theory, if it takes a 150 milliseconds to swing and it takes 300 something or 400 milliseconds for the ball to reach the plate, then I guess conceivably you could, but that wouldn't account for, I think, the time it takes to reset and pull the bat back, let alone any time to track the ball or make a decision about it. This would have to be pure, I am going to set out to swing twice. I'm not actually trying to hit the ball, really, if I do, that's a happy accident. But there's no time to process and think about it and do it twice. But if you set out if it were a very slow pitch, even like a position player pitcher pitch, and you just said, I'm going to swing twice as fast as I possibly could. Don't care if I hit it. I'll try to, but I'm not really trying to. I'm just trying to do this thing. Maybe you could, especially if you timed it so that you were already swinging as the pitcher was going through his delivery, right? So like you swing the ball is on its way, and then you quickly pull the back back and you swing again, maybe like you could kind of do it. Like it wouldn't work. You would hit the ball, I don't think. But I think you could kind of approximate it to the point where the empire would have to make a decision on it, at least, although I guess the decision would just be swinging strike either way because you would probably miss and so you're not going to get two strikes on you. The question is I think what if you swing and miss and then you swing again and you hit it and I'm pretty sure if you did that only the first swing would count. I think if you swing and miss, I think that's it. Yeah, you don't get to go again. So it's not a real coaster. You get to get back in line for, you know? No, no backsies, you don't do it at least on one pitch. So I think a it would be extremely difficult to do at least in a way that would give you any control over the swing and then beyond that there would also be no purpose in doing it other than it might look kind of funny. It would be hilarious. Yeah. And someone would write about it and that would be compelling in its own way, but I don't think that you really get much out of it other than being gifts a lot. Right. You can, I think, technically hit the ball twice and by that I mean if the ball makes contact with the bet multiple times. Yeah, there was a hunter Pence famous example of that in 2012 in the NLCS and he had like a double hit and you slow it down and it looks weird. It does look weird. Yeah. But that you can do, I think there's a rule rule 6.058 or at least it was in 2012 states that a batter is ruled out and the play is ruled dead with no advancement by the runners when the batter hits a ball a second time in fair territory, but the rule does include a comment specifically to address the circumstance of a broken bat causing a double hit. It states if a bat breaks and part of it is in fair territory and is hit by a batted ball or part of it hits a runner or Fielder, play shall continue in no interference called. So you can kinda do that technically. Yeah, okay, that makes sense. I mean, it's just, it's such a strange circumstance. I do think that sports would be better, not just baseball, but all sports, if we had a like, but that looked cool though, rule. Yeah. You know, like I have this thought in football more often than I do in baseball, but you know, it's like sometimes like a wide receiver will do something. And I'm like, I know that's not technically a catch, but it looks so cool though. It should just count as a catch 'cause it just looks so cool. And I understand we're trying to have a society, whatever. We can't do that. Sometimes I'm like, what if we had like one game a year where we had the, but that's so cool though, rule. And just saw like, yeah, like, how much chaos does it actually bring to the game? Is it an acceptable amount? 'cause then we should do it because it looks so cool though. Here's one from Jacob. I wanted to run an idea by you to see if it passes muster. This is going to be a weird one. When a base runner passes the runner in front of him, the trailing runner is out. Yes. I believe this means that if a fly ball is hit with a runner on first base, the batter could run to first base and pass the runner to eliminate the need to tag up. As soon as the batter is ruled out, the runner on first could start running to second without having to wait for the outfielder to catch the ball. I don't think that that's right though. I think you have not work anyway, but Jacob says, do you mean to say that there are multiple points of failure in this idea? Yeah. Okay. Much like the Mario party mini game scenario, it would just be difficult to do. Which Jacob acknowledges, he says, this could be advantageous in pop up situations and shallow sac fly opportunities. It would only work with faster batters and on fly balls with lengthy hang times greater than 5 seconds in the air, but in certain situations it seems like you could steal a base or even a run am I wrong about how this rule works does the base runner still need to wait to tag up. Does the timing even work out to provide an advantage in any situation? And that's the part I was trying to figure out because you can obviously run down to first base and let's say for seconds or so or even faster in some cases. So if you have a very fast runner and a lazy fly ball or sky high, pop up and it would be up there longer than it would take for the better to run to first base. The batter runner, but then by the time the batter runner passes the runner who was already on base, it's not like that runner can get a head start or running start because you have to wait to be passed. Right. Then right. And so then you're starting from a standstill and if you go much beyond the bag that you would be tacking up from, then it's going to take even longer for the batter runner to reach you in pass you and so you can't go actually that far. So I don't know if mechanically it would actually work out. Even if you could do this if this were allowable, I'm not sure how often it would actually confirm advantage. And I would need to go back and reread that part of the rulebook because I haven't had reason to in a while, which might shock people because I think they think I do it as part of my Friday wind down, but I'm pretty sure that you would still have to tag.

"And then if this Pokémon stadium has functionality to import from Pokémon home, you could put them back that's crazy. Pokémon car seat stadium, sorry. People are saying that there's no transfers, which sounds actually right because how would they do that? They'd have to build a whole new system and linking thing and they were just probably not going to do that for Nintendo Switch online. But whatever you still have the mini games in Pokémon stadium. Then the two most important games, ten 80 snowboarding and excite like 64, two of my favorites for that system. So it seems like it's coming in this order too. I mean, hopefully they mix it up. Maybe this is just me and miss Marie, but like the way they have it listed was like, these games in 2022 and then these games are 2023 and they sort of had them placed in order so it's like we're going to get Mario party Mario party two and Mario party three back to back to back. That might be a little much. Can we get something else to add to the flavor between there? But we'll see. The biggest surprise of the day for me was Miyamoto coming out and saying he wanted to talk about pikmin and be like, hey Miyamoto, I always want to talk about pikmin two. Let's do it. And then he talked about pikmin bloom for a couple of minutes and said that game still exists. You should play it. And then he confirmed that pikmin four is still real and is in fact coming in 2023. Are you excited about this? 'cause I'm excited. What a roller coaster of emotions. I felt during that because immediately was like, oh shit, pikmin and oh, it's a stupid mobile game. I don't care. My morale is at an all time low and then he yes ended it and it's like guess what pikmin four is happening and I couldn't believe it. It was awesome. They didn't show much of the game, but they did show a screenshot basically. I love to pikmin three deluxe. It was definitely the best one of those games yet. So the idea that they could build on that and do even more and I don't know, something about the way that what they have shown like that screenshot of the bench that the player was underneath. It's like, oh, we're always kind of like in the Woods among litter. Like going into like an actual park, maybe that could change things. Like being like the little guy and a big park, that maybe there's more cool implications for human trash. What if it's an open world, it's huge. I mean, I think it could work. I think it can work. It's crazy. Because I love the first pikmin game and I have the second game and the third one never played it. What is wrong with it? I think you will adore pikmin three deluxe and pikmin two is great too, but pikmin three deluxe is just so solid. They streamlined it so nicely. Never played any of them. Looking forward to it. Really? Yeah. Good games. Didn't have a good old GameCube, you know? Oh. Well, eventually. The technology is here to rectify that. Yes. I'm going to do it. Every computer can support those on steam. Exactly. Just shove it into the USB slot. You just gotta be able to borrow one of Tam's game cubes. Oh, that's right. He's got like 11. Yeah. Let's see, Mario kart 8 deluxe wave three. They only confirm two of the courses so far, I believe, peach gardens and Mary mountain. But I saw those like Christmassy elements in Mary mountain and it got me ready. I'm ready for the holidays. I'm ready to go race on that track. It looks like a lot of fun. Too soon. I'm ready. I want to do my Halloween stuff first. I am ready for the time to track. They could still maybe have. I feel like one of their tracks they put out was kind of spooky maybe, maybe not. But spookier. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know what's left to release of spooky tracks 'cause I'm not familiar with all the tracks from all the different games. So come on. There's a lot. That's a lot. This pack still has two more tracks to be revealed and so we're going to probably maybe that will come true. But also, it seems like this wave might come a little bit later. So maybe it'll be after Halloween when it actually releases because I don't think they said a release date or anything like that. Yeah, because that last wave came out pretty recently, I think, right? Like maybe less than a month ago? A month ago, yeah. That sounds right. So we're probably still like two or three months away. Well, two ish months away. And that would put us kind of up close and maybe past October. Yes, and then speaking of Halloween, bayonetta coming out October 28th. It is coming out October 28th and they showed up. I remember the date when I typed it in the dark. It's good for me. That game looks great. I can't wait, I can't wait to play a band out of two is a classic. I love it. I hope that bayonetta three lives up to it. We've known this as coming. It's just nice to get a reminder that, hey, this is still one of their big holiday releases. So what are the thoughts after seeing the latest from bayonetta? I just wanted to come out because I feel like it's one of those games that they've been teasing. They've been talking about. We've seen trailers or like 12 years now. I'm very happy. How long has it actually been? How long has it actually been?

"Who's buying it? Is the company buying their game? Who's behind this? But GTA more so, but I mean, with switch, I don't know. Anybody in chat, speaking of that, we'll just ask chat. Anybody in chat is any of you guys got a switch recently? families, right? You mean like someone said already, I saw a set, yeah, we have three switches at home, like for the family. Wow. Which is even weirder to me because that means somebody knows what the switch does and doesn't offer and still bought another one. Not to diss on the switch, but if I bought the switch, I don't think I would be tantalized to buy another switch, ever. But maybe there's animal crossing is a multiplayer game, right? Maybe that's what we're Mario party and all this stuff. Also, animal crossing is a game where you can only have one proper island on a console. So for that game, you actually need several physical consoles. Wait, so if you have a different account on one console, you can't have a different island. No, you can only be a guest in the main island. What if it's like a different account? No, it's locked up. Doesn't matter. It's a lockdown. Interesting. That's weird. This person says, I got a switch like two years ago for 200. Another person says two of them recently so a total of four in their house. Total of four switches. So there you go. I mean, somebody when it came out, basically. I couldn't tell you where mine was. And that's not a joke, not even dissing on Nintendo. I have no just no clue. All my consoles are right next to the TV, all of them. The issue consoles. They issued mine is just like the joy cons got fucked up and drift and got shit. Yeah, I don't want to. That is one. Negative, right?.

"Something fun. I wouldn't be curious actually for folks that picked up like a switch lite and now they kind of just got to prop up their switch somewhere and then just connect the joy con to it. Go probably go buy joy cons because they might not even have one. Yeah, that's true. So you can do that. I'm assuming, but I just don't, I wonder how many people will. Yeah, that was a question I forgot to ask about, because in my head I just assumed folks would just sync up a joy con to a switch lite, but I am a hundred, I'm 95% sure you can't play the game with a switch lite because you can't detach anything and just registers as one unit when you sync up both joy cons. Yeah. Yeah, I guess it's cool that they're doing this because the alternative would be to not make this game if they were adhering to some kind of like every game must work on every switch, then that would really limit them from even making stuff like this. So yeah. I will say, this is the first time I checked out the safety straps on the new joy cons that come with the oled switch. Man. Those safety straps so much nicer than the original ones. It's like a tethered rope versus the flat rope that they send out. Things like that. I still have, I don't think I took the safety straps out of the box when I unboxed my oled switch. So you live life on the edge. That's right, I don't care if all these TVs get broken because I'm playing the sickest volleyball in the world. That's just how it's going to have to be. Shirtless. It's also, I don't think it's coming out at like a full 60, which is surprising because I feel like they could get away with it. And I don't think they do anything for 60 or this Nintendo first party stuff always 50. I want to say because I had to buy Mario party over the weekend. That was what you had to do. So switch sports is 50 Mario party superstars just to double check. You're right, that is 60. Imagine a world where someone pays $60 to own a copy of Mario party superstars. What a disaster. Thanks a lot. Probably wearing a candy. It was for the children. All right..

"Both new and returning sports feel frantic and fun to play. Tim, I'm going to put a pause there before I even get into the next preview from Michael mcwhorter over there at polygon. For a second, I thought I had copied and paste, I'm good. But I do want to talk about cosmetics for a second. Is that something that gets you excited to? Yeah, I mean, definitely what makes these games special is those kind of like customizable options. And the mes were so core to the experience of Wii sports back in the day. And I do think that Nintendo Switch sports has a place for fans out there. And I think that it's good that it's coming back. And again, the switch being a successful as it is. It's weird that it's been so long since we've gotten a new sports title. But then you look at like the Wii U and where all that stuff was, that makes sense, but it coming out now. It's like, I think that this has the potential to be a very big hit, a surprise hit even, which is weird because we sports obviously is one of the most common games to be owned by somebody because it was with the Wii. Yeah, right? But we sold so well, but I think you look at it now and with the success of ring fit adventure, which I know you've been getting into recently. I think that there's a very, very, very sizable audience out there for this and if it delivers, which is basically preview sounds like it's kind of doing everything it has to. Hell yeah? Yeah. I'm impressed by the idea of them rolling out weekly cosmetic drops, right? For Nintendo, I think that's already kind of like a bit future looking in a way that's not even a feature looking, right? Present looking. In the way that we make fun, or we talk about how Super Mario maker two didn't have the post launch content that it should have had. You look at Mario Mario party and even like the fact that they added in online years later, they're Super Mario party. Blew our minds because generally that is a game that seemed like it should have had more post launch content that they put out didn't really do anything with it. And then you had the last update and then boom, it's done, right? Putting out weekly cosmetic drops for Nintendo Switch sports, already sounds like a step forward, but yeah, them talking about unique store designs, new soccer balls, and then goal animations like I read goal animations, and I was like, fuck, that sounds fun. That sounds like it could be a good time. I can't wait to score against my opponent and do like a double front flip or something, right? And have that. And show off and be that person. That sounds like a really fun time. And so I'm super into that. Now, I want to hop into Michael mcwhorter at polygon's article titled..

"It get it together. AKA the Nintendo award every year, that's all that it is. But here we go, it takes two. I don't think Nintendo doesn't think Nintendo is a lock for it this year. Not what it takes during the mix. Yeah, that's the thing. I'm with it takes two for this. At least person I hope it is. Bowser's fury was amazing and 3D world is just such a fantastic title. But it's an old game. You know, I think that it is made ridiculously better on switch just with amount of controller options that you have being able to play online and the Bowser's fury game being great. Wario ware, not enough content there, new Pokémon snap. And Mario party superstars is utterly fantastic and what we've been waiting for forever for Mario party. I enjoy yeah, I enjoyed warrior where but your writing is very, very short. My read on this category. When you say best family, that to me, I feel like what they mean here by the inclusion of Pokémon snap, which is a single player game that they're basically saying best family appropriate kids type game. But when I see best family, what I mean, what I read that is is like a game that you can play with the family. And that obviously goes, what the fuck is Kevin doing? Moving all this shit around. I'm praying stuff. Okay. But you're taking away the games that I'm talking about. They're actually at the moment. You're not saying anything about the games. I was literally talking about nothing but the games. Mario party superstars, we played that in the house recently, really, really like that. One of the things I actually love about it the most is because they're all throwback games from the prior generations. You can actually play with the pro controller instead of having to fucking waggle the joy cons around, which nobody really enjoys. Let's be honest. And so I really like Mario party superstars a lot. It's definitely the kind of the popular game in the house right now. My kid, you know, who I always going to go to in terms of like the target audience for this stuff. Like she already told me she likes it way better than the previous switch Mario party. So that's a win for me. But again, any time it takes two shows up in a category, I don't care what the category is or what other games are in there. It takes to is probably winning it. And it certainly is, in this case, it really stood the family test. They played it all the way through with my wife. We finished it together. I've been playing through it with playing through it with my daughter as well. And also, let's about a family. You know, it's a husband and a wife trying to get back to their daughter. So it also has very kind of poignant family themes. So for me, this checks all the boxes. Next category, we have best fighting game. This is best game designed primarily around head to head combat. We have Demon Slayer, we have guilty gear strive, melty blood, type lumina. Never heard of that. Either. Nickelodeon all star brawl and virtual fighter 5 ultimate showdown. Man, yeah, this is an interesting one. I don't know, definitely. I don't even really have a take on this. I'm not a fighting guy, I've heard that Nickelodeon all star brawl is better than it has any right to be. The other one that the three tournament finding type games virtual fighter and gilliard. So I don't know anything about those. But I'm a bit of a Demon Slayer fan. As you may know, Tim, they really recently got into season two, been really enjoying it. Starting to kind of really appreciate the storytelling and Demon Slayer the characters. And I played a bit of the game. And it's actually I don't know what kind of reviews it's going, but I actually really like it so far. It's really good. The art style is beautiful. It really does feel like the TV show brought to life and now you're playing it because the style looks just like the animation in the show. And it's a very, very authentic recreation of what looks like it's basically season one. It's got a retelling the story of season one. The battles really has the epic battles of Demon Slayer that are so cool are recreated like really faithfully in the game, but like you're the one doing it. What a breathing final form or whatever all that shit really, really well done. If you like, if you like the Demon Slayer show, I think you would love this game. I certainly did. So again, it's time for me to talk about the others, but I will definitely stand for the Demon Slayer game right. Not a lot of people talking about it. It's really good. Yeah, go check that out. We're actually gonna speed through these. So let's move on to towards the top of the game. Let's go to category 5. Please. And we'll roll it out. And then we'll go into way more detail on the kind of funny games cast later. I just want to make sure we hit some of the upcoming news stories. So category 5, we got best score and music, artful escape, cyberpunk, death loop, marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and near replicant is a tough one for me. This is outstanding. Inclusive of score original song and or licensed soundtrack, artful escape is something that I'm going to be listening to for the rest of time. But I think that marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy uses music uses its license music in game as well as being dope music and the score is phenomenal. I think it's guardians game. It should be at least. I still got to play guardians, but for me, artful escape is going to be tough to beat because the whole game is about music, right? Music is the heart and soul of the game and integrates into the gameplay so beautifully like you're playing music in the game. And it's such an incredible range as well, the idea that it's somehow able to kind of do these amazing imitations of like classic Bob Dylan songs. And at the same time, be a sci-fi prog rock, you know, opera. Like it's mashing together these different musical flavors in a way that I've never seen any piece of art do. And for me, it's got to be artful escape because it's not just a game that has great music. It's a game that is music. Yeah. You should play guardians. It's on the list. Category four, we got best art direction, artful escape, death loop, Cana bridges spirit, psychonauts to ration clank rift apart. What a fantastic list of games for this category this year. We are eating good. It's been a good year for guys. The kind of thing that reminds you that this has been a good year for games. Totally, totally. Category three no, I was on a straight line. Death loop, it takes two life is strange, true colors, marvel's.

"The publisher stated that the number of players accessing its online services has now exceeded 32 million a figure up to a figure up 6 million from this time last year. Janet, does that surprise you? How do you feel about Nintendo saying that they're going to improve things on this? It lightly surprises me that the subscriptions have gone up. Yeah, I'm not really sure to make of that. I mean, I don't necessarily think, especially if they are turning this report around. I don't think that's representative of the expansion pack work specifically, whether positively or negatively that kind of public came in from before. Yeah, I'm not really sure because there hasn't really been maybe I'm trying to think of a game that would be driving that if you can think of one feel free to chime in. I know we had market party. I think Mario party plus Super Mario party. Specifically Super Mario party adding online. That was this year, right? The online was this year, yeah, and the game launched, well, a couple of years ago at this point. And I think with that, combined with the pandemic, that probably boosted a lot of interest in Mario party, Super Mario party. They talked about a little bit yesterday with in terms of sales. And Super Mario party, I sold a lot of copies. Way more copies that would have assumed Amari party would have sold. Yeah, I'm not going to front. I'm probably going to be able to party at some point. Yeah. And then there's also always people there's always someone jumping in new to animal crossing, and even though that game, the multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired, there's still online things to do in that game, even if you're not doing the multiplayer. So accessing the design kiosk on the Internet requires being online. So I guess it doesn't totally shock me, but if they said this was like a decrease that also wouldn't have because then we could just be like, oh, well, the pandemic, you know, the vaccines rolling out or something like that. So I feel like it's not too shocking either way. As far as improving, I mean, I'm glad that they have plans to continue to expand specifically because as far as improvements, I mean, I think we can already imagine what that could be. I don't know if that's what that would be in terms of connectivity. Improving the online matchmaking and most games that they have is really convoluted. The fact that you always have to ask, oh, how do I set this up when you're playing any online game for the first time? But within Nintendo, there's always a lot of layers going on and the lags really rough. Online, even sometimes if you're hardwired and that can be really rough. So I hope that's what they mean by improvements. And yeah, for expansion, you know, I would just want more content. I've said before, I've been very critical of the expansion pack. I'm not interested in it. I'm not buying it. The only way I would have it is if again, for content, someone gives me it because they want me to do something with the Sega genesis games or something. And then that's fine because that's part of the job. But there is a world where I would get it if they make it enticing enough. Now I don't know what that would mean for me offhand and someone that you did by the expansion pack. So I'd love to know what you want more from it as someone that already bought in. But I'm not sure what would give me to buy in. I feel like it'd have to kind of be alive because it is a significant price jump. And I just bought the DLC for animal crossing, and I used my gold points or whatever color the coin is. And I only paid like 12 bucks for it once I cashed in all my points. So that was easier to me. That one time expense was easier than buying into an entire service indefinitely. Yeah, I think Gary would I think gave the perfect use case on why the expansion pack works for him because he is on the family plan and he has a family of people who all play animal crossing. And so for him, looking at the expansion back, it was actually a really great deal for him because he wanted to get his whole family. The DLC. And me and Tim had a conversation about this as well, because we were talking about the value. We were talking about the buying into the family plan versus the singular plan and all these things and how I do this the singular plan. And I'm paying 50 bucks, which again, I think is this astronomical ridiculous for all this. My main issue is that it comes back to the conversation I think we originally had about this, which is it feels like they have a mystery fruit basket. It feels like a loot box worth of benefits where it's cool. We got you for the regular switch online. You're getting access to playing your games online and you're getting access to any schemes and super NES games. And then sometimes we'll throw a Tetris 99 in their randomly. Maybe sometimes we'll throw a Super Mario 35. And then for the expansion pack, they're like, okay, now let's give them, I don't know, man. 64. Second says they're down to give us the genesis. Cool. Let's throw that in there. And then what else we got? Animal crossing DLC cool, throw that in there. That seems that seems worth it. And for me, it's one who doesn't play animal crossing. And for me, has somebody who is not as interested in the second genesis slate, I look the N 64 stuff, and I'm like, I really want access to that. And so I'm going to pay for that. But even that I'm like, you know, not everybody's going to want to play every single NC four game. And I think a lot of the switch expansion packs stuff comes with the idea of the people who are going to who are going to buy into this are going to take advantage of the full benefits, but I don't think that is the case with most subscription services, or at least platform services in this way. I don't watch every single Netflix show. I don't watch everything on Disney+. In my cable package, I don't watch every single channel. I pick and choose my choose the things. And so depending on who you are, it might be of good value to you versus somebody else who looks at it and goes, this is bullshit. Gary whitta, this is a perfect value to Gary whitta. Me, this is like a little bit value to me. I'm definitely overpaying for it. But I think it's definitely a teach their own thing. But when you look at the numbers of 6 million up from this time last year, I think that makes a lot of sense, just given the fact that they've sold a lot more switches in the last year. And with switch sales, 8 percentage of those people are naturally going to buy in to Nintendo Nintendo Switch online. I think that combined with the recent years of software that support Nintendo Switch online. Or the games that you want to play online at least, right? You got animal crossing, which is going to sell alongside a lot of switches this last year. You have Super Mario party, like we had mentioned. You have things like the Super Mario 3D all star not 3D all stars, the other 3D game. Super Mario 3D world plus browser series. That supports online. I think there's enough there that makes this 6 million number makes sense. And if it dipped, I'd be like, okay, there's a problem. They gotta do something because I think with something like this, the numbers should only go up. And so the 6 million makes sense to me there. But yeah, I definitely there's definitely in terms of what you mentioned before. The stuff that I would want to add to the service, I look at the leaked N 64 document of games that we are coming to the service. And I'm like, cool. Once all those games are out, that's going to make it worth it for me. That's going to be a huge step into making this something that makes sense for me. I would also like to see, I guess just more benefits in general that feel consistent and not just randomly thrown in. What if there was what if they added a GameCube in there? I think that would add in a lot more value. There is the rumored Game Boy color stuff. And I think that would make a sense to add a lot more value. Maybe if there was more DLC, maybe if they had a Mario party long-term season pass that you get through the expansion pack..

"Proven track record of building successful player driven worlds, since craft and CEO, CH Kim in a statement. Quote, Crafton will spare no effort in helping them. Not only do they enhance our development capabilities, but we share a goal of creating unique experiences for global audiences and it was immediately apparent how closely unknown worlds and crafting are aligned in the way we think about games and game development. Unknown world CEO, Charlie Cleveland says Charlie Cleveland continues in pubg both started humbly and evolved successfully through constant iteration and feedback. We want to bring new games to the world stage, and with crafting, we're a big step closer. We're truly looking forward to our future together. Quote, unknown world's latest game was this year, so not a couple below zero, which came to Mac PC, PS4 PS5 X one and Xbox Series X slash S back in May. The open world survival game was the sequel to 2018, some nauka. Both games will continue to receive updates as unknown worlds is developing its next original game. Janet, let's do anything for you. Not necessarily, again, like subnautica. I haven't spent a lot of time with, but I do think, you know, what I always say with these acquisitions, I just hope that, you know, it ends up being the best for the team that got acquired. Obviously, you would assume that they go into these deals because they're good for the team and that there's something that they're excited about. So I just hope this leads to as a kind of mentions them having more resources and ways to explore what they're passionate to dig into development wise. Hell yeah, yeah, no plenty of people who love some nautica and Crafton is an interesting one to follow because that is that the pubg company essentially. And they seem like they've been wanting to slowly expand more and more. And so like them acquiring a studio, isn't a surprise any means by any means. But the requiring this studio, I think is just interesting in terms of what these studios are good at because pubg, we look at as that is the battle Royale game. That was the one that kind of kicked off the bigger trend. I didn't invent battle Royale, but it did kind of bring into a new audience and led to things like Fortnite and other bigger battle royales following their footsteps. Blue hole, rising wings, which I don't think I'm familiar with rising leans as much. But it seems like the studios they've been acquiring have been the studios that are focused on maintaining more of the live platform service games. These are games that we want to expand, expand on with updates that I do areas or add new elements or ad new systems, like these big systems games that people get into and they get lost in. And so I would assume that's a fit by that means, but, you know, it's one that I continue to keep an eye on as they keep on growing and expanding, because I want to know, I want to know especially what is player unknown's big story game that he's working on. That's something that always that always strikes me as a, oh man, I want to know more about that because that sounds really interesting. But good on you crafting for the acquisition. Last news story for you, story number 6, banjo kazooie's composer has released a full album of remixed music. This is Chris gole at video games chronicle. The composer of Benji kazooie has released a new remix album offering modern takes on its soundtrack. Grant Kirk hope score for the original NC four release was critically acclaimed for its typically rare esque jonty nature. Now Kirk hope has revisited his 1998 soundtrack with his new album, banjo 'cause we rejigged. The ten track album includes reimagined takes on such themes as spiral mountain, mumbles mountain, treasure trove of cove and freeze easy peak. The album can currently be found on Spotify IDs or YouTube music and Apple music. This is one that I included mainly for me. I love rancor cope. I love his music. Him and David wise in that era of rare music for me. They're like top tier in terms of what they were doing in that composition space. And so shout out to this, I will do a little bit of it today. And I absolutely love stuff like this. Janet for you. One, does this do anything for you then too? If you could have one of your favorite soundtracks, recompose or remixed by the composer, do you have a pick for that? Yeah, it does do something for me. Every tweet, this as soon as I saw it, because I was very excited. I'm also a big grant Kirk hope van. And banjo kazooie is music. That is like the game screen you don't skip. Not only is the song amazing, but also like the animations that go along with it or highly charming. For me, the soundtrack that I would love to have on Spotify and available, whether it's like the original or remix would be the Yoshi's island music. I listened to that. If I am listening to video game music, that's when I regularly go to, but I have to go to YouTube because Nintendo has none of their stuff on Spotify or anywhere else, which, you know, I think there's a lot of other layers for why that stuff doesn't happen as often with composition and who earns royalties and all these other issues. But I really would love to see more game music on platforms. Ideally, with also people being paid and credited properly for those songs because there's a huge audience for that. And I think people have really been paying attention to video game music a lot more in recent history. So hopefully this is the first of at least some more people doing this kind of thing, but we'll see. I'm not really sure what the legality behind the scenes was of him even putting this out there. It will see some articles in some stories surface based on this alone. So yeah, I'm definitely going to listen to it. Again, I love that sound track a lot. It's really good. Yeah, I'm all about it. I love if he did. This is I know far fetched just because he's way more of the reviewed game between the two. But DK 64, I would love to keep that as well. And that's one that soundtrack is just ingrained to my brain. So I'd love if you did that one as well. But like other picks I would have. It's funny because Celeste came to mind, but let's kind of already had that because they had the B side levels, which those levels were basically remixed, compositions of the original levels. And so Lena raine, the composer for that game would bring in other artists to essentially remix her music to put into the game. We always thought was a really cool idea that all love to see more stuff like that too. I think that would be New York Times another one that I think of. I just love I love any sort of remix music. Which McCall, there is like a company that puts out a lot of remix albums from other. I think it's game shops. Is it a game shop? I think it's game shops. I'm picking up. I put that like a lot of remixed music that artists will come to them to actually put out and publish onto these streaming platforms. And I'm always on that shit because I love it so much. And so go get them grant curl cope. And do you take K 64, just for me? Janet, I can't wait for grant Kirkuk to eventually remix DK 64. But that's just so far away. If I want to know what was coming out to my graph shops today, where'd I look? "Of funny games. And also our Guardians of the Galaxy games cast review is up with a rare appearance by daddy Gregg Miller himself. Yeah, coming out of retirement just for the one time only to review guardians with us. That's me bless Mike and Andy on the episode. Again, we'll talk a little bit about that stuff on this show, but you should check that out. Fantastic episode with a lot of divisive opinions, which is always a fun thing to have here at kind of funny. On top of that, we will be playing Guardians of the Galaxy for the rest of the week pretty much from Tuesday to Thursday. We're partnering with Nvidia. Andy is going to be playing through for the first time because you haven't really touched the game yet, right, Andy. I fired it up just to test DLSS and then I texted him and I was like, DLSS is running like a dream. It's purring him. Love it. I love that person. I don't know. Whatever. Exactly. I'm excited to see Andy play it, though this week, Tuesday Wednesday Thursday. Then on Friday, we're doing a big Mario party superstar stream. To declare who the new CEO of kind of funny is because the company we run here. And then in review, on the kind of funny side of things, if video games aren't necessarily your thing, which doesn't make sense because you're watching this show doesn't matter. You can go to YouTube dot com slash kind of funny. We got three in reviews this week. We're kicking off ghostbusters in review. We're going to return to Edgar Wright and review with Last Night in Soho and we're continuing our Spider-Man rewatch. You can watch our Spider-Man one rewatch. It's almost three hours featuring Anthony carboni. It's absolutely insane. What do you have to say about that episode, Andy? You know, I feel like I'm still in it. I don't know if it ever ended. Be there. It is one of the better pieces of California content. IMO, I think it's definitely a classic that has been recorded so you can go check that out. But enough of that, we have a huge news day. So we have to get into what is and forever will be the roper report. Time.

"This is the moment to sell me on those games and for me right i do want that update on mario party superstars. This is a game that we hear as a team are going to be really excited to play together. Once we all get back in the studio rights. And i wanna continue to see that progression. Really wanna know that. This is gonna be great. You know that lasts. Mario party is so right. It's fun sometimes. But it's not out of the world. Knock your socks off and then as well right. Advanced wars is the game that caught my eye the last time not really a game. That would be right up my alley but slowly but surely when i see it i get introduced to get more and more excited for it so i really look forward to these updates and how they can progress tab because of nintendo can get a sale out of me. Maybe even two. That's a pretty big win. Because i am so far removed from that ecosystem. It's a big deal. Whenever i see things that do catch my eye. The monster hunters you know. The super anime sword and shield type characters will be there. And i'll probably look away but it will be fun to see what they do and then the surprises. I mean amman blessing you know we all wanna see the big hitters right that breath of the wild to. We're hoping for that. Just like we saw with wolverine out of nowhere right. Could you really announce game that could be twenty twenty two and beyond in this or minutes. Big pretty chad. Sit in a forty minute direct. It's hard for me to imagine that they have no big surprises right like in terms of big titles to talk about right. We know metro dread. But that's coming out imminently right like that. Is i feel like you've ran out of like big things to review with my troy dread in terms of something that's gonna get us hype on the level of a remember. The directly got years ago that had the smash ultimate announcement and all of us went crazy for it right like we're we're kind of past that point with metro rated a play and looking at a mario party superstars is similar thing right where that is that is not a top tier get people kind of title title for people like you and me. Who are like i love mario party. I'm looking forward to. The mario party superstars from this style of it ain't because i wanna play more party but i don't think that chris counts as a. This is a juggernaut main event title for our nintendo direct and they even put him on brilliant diamonds in shining. Pearl right like. I'm only half expecting that to show up here. Because i think the fan by article mexican point of usually when we see bieber dives into pokemon stuff that isn't any pokemon specific stream that is thrown by the pokemon company as opposed to nintendo. And so i imagine. We'll see a glimpse i don't expect anything substantial regarding that which begs the question. What is the main event you know in terms of more things that could be there. You know you shouldn't say five is around the corner as well and so. I expect to be there pokemon legends. I know that is an early twenty twenty two title. But that isn't that is a soon enough one that i wouldn't be surprised. At least the a glimpse maybe they talk about it in conjunction with pok mon brilliant diamond shining parole and then smash of course we're still one character left in that game. I expect the final smash character no pun intended. The final smash character will either be revealed at this. Or it'll be a game awards thing and i think it's an equal chance i would. I would very much not be surprised if we see the final character here and you know. I'm very curious who that character is for the final character. That's going to be included in sewer smash ultimate i expect i expect greatness right. I don't expect us another farm character or another kokomo on as i was saying this. I'm going to be disappointed. I'm expecting greatness right like you're the host kinda funny gas right like we and i know we got a of kazillion smash which kinda councils like the microsoft crossover in minecraft steve blake. Is there more that we can get..

"Hello and welcome to Nintendo voice chat I'd Jen's Nintendo podcast this week the week of July thirtieth. Today, we'll be talking about the huge release gasoline intendo bestselling games. The NINTENDO GIG leak ends a lot more I'm your host and this week I'm joined by Friday Tato. Guy Is here to join the show. Perfect. Let's he delivering today. something I might be able to show next week actually. Okay. Cool. Awesome. Okay to do that, build it. Now, I'm thinking of what it could be. A spoiler and I'm also joined today by pair. Snyder. And Zach Ryan. Hello I didn't see their. Her. How many chapters to get through your book while waiting for me together Brooke Myers retired who was supposedly. So yeah, that's true too I. Don't know how to read it. Did you get to the part where the skeleton is link yes. Very. Can, be time. Ns. Skeleton. Mr. Historic Also, have skeletons Brian I. Not. Christ. Disagree agree to disagree that's fine we can agree to disagree. But you can't agree on is that there's nothing coming out for the rest of the year from Nintendo at least as far as we now. Agree on that. Disagree. Last week we got a mini direct, but we still don't know anything that is coming from Nintendo specifically for the rest of this year pair went ahead and put together a really awesome lists. You might of seen it if you follow his twitter about. that. We haven't seen in wild that might be coming I. Say my I mean, this is super speculative. We really don't know but I thought it'd be interesting to go over this list of games to see how many years it's been since we've gotten a new installment of games. Probably. Doesn't say that we're the ones. It's been the longest since we've seen but maybe Now see that's what I was trying to get a I was trying to figure out. All right. Is there a certain cadence and I haven't done this in the past to look at whether there's a certain cadence when intendo renews these Games they there is right Nintendo in order to keep keep the franchises going they. They send life signs out but that doesn't necessarily mean a new installment in May, mean a character inclusion in smash or you know like putting NFC or track in Nintendo land stuff like that. So I don't I don't know how helpful it is to to actually predict what is going to come out and what will come out because like at first I was like. The Games that sell the most are the games that Nintendo puts on a schedule to be renewed at least every four years, and then you go while hold on his animal crossing sold forty million or something at the series, and we have to wait eight years eight years animals. New Leaf right right. But they did have a mobile released. So you know they kind of unhappy designer everyone loved happy. Home Design. Side. So happy home designer. Dave count. Twenty thirteen. They count in the way that they're both animal crossing products. That's definitely fall under the same umbrella. Look. Do. You want to talk about the ones that haven't been renewed in a long time or you know maybe our guest is like I. Think Everybody here has the list in front of them but like our guesses what we think will be revisited next. Yes. Yes, let let's really quickly recap in the last five years. We've gotten paper. Mario Animal. Crossing we've gotten to poke them on like we always get new pok months, Yoshi Lewis Mansion, fire emblem, and some of these like had big gaps. It had been kind of a year since we had another Louisi- mansion it had been. There all been short, really short gaps between these games like Mario and Zelda and Mario Party like they're not long gaps within the games that we haven't seen in the past ten years. They always have really long gaps. It seems. Yeah, I mean the nets Roy yeah. There's a lot of metro happening though you know there was there was a brief period there with with prime. Prime two prime three. Metro Fusion Metro Observer Mission. The Ball Three D. S. and. There's a lot of metro I feel like in a very short timeframe, and then now it's just been forever since we've seen a metro. A new one right we got Simmons returns overseas so. We're looking at kind of they are shortening the gap between with remakes and that's what happened with link's awakening obviously to right we got link's awakening to take the spot in between you know the mixed breath of the wild, the last one, and certainly that happened with metro to with Simas returns and the other game that shall not be named.

Nintendo Switch's US sales surpass the PS4 and Xbox at the same age
"Pokomo. Let's go and Pokemon. Let's go Pika chew and super. Mario party the to poke. Games combined to sell two million units in the US and Super Mario party sold. One point four million Nintendo's star player, however has been super smash Bros. Ultimate which was revealed earlier to be the company's fastest selling game ever in Europe. While the US sold three million units in just eleven days that is very impressive. How many units Nintendo switch us globally is a harder number to come by Vosa? Because intend to hasn't revealed it in July, the tally was nearly twenty million units. Which means it's probably ballooned well past that by now, but how does that stack up to PlayStation for an Xbox One? Microsoft, of course, stopped revealing hardware figures a while ago and the face of the PS four dominance and Sony's machine. We know has sold more than eighty six million units worldwide, it's unlikely which will ever have time to catch up to Sony with Microsoft already talking about a new generation of Xboxes and Sony presumably won't be far. Behind with PS five. We'll congratulations. Everybody over at Nintendo. That is an impressive number to say. The least it is weird. How you compare them? Because it's not a true console race in the sense that Xbox One PS four had a couple of years on intendo switch and like they say here in the article the odds of switch actually catching up to PS four is pretty slim. And we don't even know if they're going to hit their internal sales figure they seem confident that they will with the impressive numbers of super smash Bros. Ultimate of course. If you guys remember their internal goal was to hit forty million units by the end of their fiscal year, which is the end of March twenty nineteen. I, of course, don't think they're going to do it because I'm

Nintendo Switch sales nearly hit 20 million as software boosts profits
"You know, you don't do come through grip on it because then the catch it would outscored out you grip it with enough to lift it. And then when you bring it over the dog, you squeeze it a little more to get the catch up. And that was one of the biggest hurdles that they had to overcome is like how much pressure do you just you know it, there's a, there's a limit. Were you sense in your nerve bundle? How much pressure putting on that bottle knowing when to stop squeezing. And that's kind of the, you know, that's one of the hurdles that's always been stymied you know, you know, kind of like the RoboCop press too hard yet crush every bone in the hand can kind of thing. Moving onto Nintendo earnings. The company reported net sales up nine percent from last year and profit up forty two percents how Nintendo says it sold nineteen point, six, seven million switch consoles dates. Eighty six point, nine million games for that console. Nintendo also sold seventeen point, seven, nine million consoles as of March thirty first. So if you look at the numbers, the rate seems to be slowing a bit the company plans to launch quite a few new games in its next quarter, including Super Mario party. That's number v, Pokemon. Let's go. He could chew and EV on November, sixteenth, and super smash, brothers, ultimate, which I know a lot of people are excited about on December seven. No one here is well, no, no. I actually had to call right when you talking about pets, but Nintendo switch. Slowing down is concerning. It obviously is sold way better than the we you did through its entire life cycle. That's fine. It's not near selling as well as the DS, but the DS is sort of an aberration in many ways. It's a success for Nintendo. And I'm not saying that the question that I have is, are we seeing a seasonal slow because it's the summer and it's the first time because the switch was so hot, that seasonal change affects it, or is this the saturation of the market have intendo sold the switches to all the people who are interested in switches and from here on out there. Now, in the same position, Sony is because PlayStation sales have also flattened. We're, we're Sony is expecting to make it's money in this unit for the time being off of game sales. I mean, intendo can do quite well selling. All those games that you just mentioned to switch users. They'll do even better if they settled if the switches continue to sell and it's a neat. Well, it's not unusual, but Nintendo's been a standout in that if it was made money on hardware. Now they didn't make a lot of money compared to us offer sales, but they made enough as opposed to Sony Microsoft were. They would sell the hardware at a loss in order to get you as a customer to buy their game, start verses down the road. And I'm wondering if there's a point where you know a company just says like, well, now we need to treat this kind of with the razor blade model or the printer model where we sell the hardware at a loss. But we make it up in repeated sale something that Nintendo has kinda vehemently avoid doing for the longest time. All right time to check in on a few earnings. Now, it's important to note the earnings in relation to the Facebook news. Because one of the things we've been tracking is it is it just a time we're tech companies are running into problems, especially advertising based tech company. So we're sort of looking at it in that light as well as the normal light. Couple of things I might not have normally mentioned ACA, my beat expectations on strengthened cloud security. That's interesting Pandora, which a lot of people I think have counted out of the streaming race got more paid subscribers and posted a smaller quarterly loss than expected. They're still in the the growth phase where they're expected to lose some money, but they're losing less money than people expected. That's really good..

"Gets the magic weekly i dunno instead it comes off lackluster because they're just the presenting it in a very monotone way and it's usually through a translator as well was very monotone and you can download it later today like oh okay i mean that's cool but okay one other cool thing that they announced the super mario party so the games in the past been mario party and then mortgage two three four five at cetera super mario party for the nintendo switch is interesting because you take your switch in multiplayer so multiple people have a switch you can put the screens so you take the joy counts out and you can lay the tablets flat on a table almost like dominoes and it can build maps and and play spaces based on the configuration of the console's next to each other so you're basically build you can build them as for example just by putting a bunch of difference which is next to each other and it knows where the screens are relations which is i'm not sure how they're doing that but it's definitely a new take on the mario party game and it looks very cool so big picture andrew and i realize you've still got to walk the show floor and all that stuff you've only seen the presentations right now who's ahead after this e3 sony microsoft or nintendo among the big three console makers come on a whole after say microsoft ethic impress people the most.
