"Talking to Stephen strang, founder of charisma magazine, who has a new book out called spirit led living in an upside down world, and I'm glad Stephen that we're talking about this because as I just said, we went to the break so many people, they have a very bleached kind of desiccated intellectualized, rationalistic view of the Christian faith. They don't understand that there's mystery that there is the life of the Holy Spirit. They've not experienced that. Maybe they've not experienced miracles or they've only seen weird people experience that. But you and I know that this is God's will for us as Christians. Absolutely. My book is practical, it's experiential. It is not really theological, although I will stand behind the theology. You know, I'm a journalist. I'm not a theologian. I'm not never been a pastor. But I've lived a long time now, and I've seen God work. I've had my own set of problems and trials. I've had to reach out to God. I've had to get victory over things. I've had to believe God, you mentioned charisma magazine. It's just started as a dream. I had to believe it into existence in a way. The gift of faith, I write a light in there about Kenneth Copeland and we call him papa Hagan. And I interview a lot of people. I interviewed Catherine Coleman back in the day, but that's amazing. You must have just been a kid. Seriously, that's quite a while ago. It was. And I think I did the last. I did it for the Orlando sentinel where I worked at the time. Can you believe a secular paper sent me to cover a Catherine Coleman rally? She was a big, big cultural figure, I know, become friends with Mario Morello. He was telling me stories about her. And you know, she obviously lived into the 1970s, but still I interviewed her about 9 months before she died. And I think it was probably the last major interview she had before she died.

Comedian Barry Humphries who created the character dame Edna has died in Sydney from complications after hip surgery at the age of 89, according to his family. Humphreys, as Edna, explained in a 2003 AP interview she called everyone possum because that's like calling someone sweetie in Australia. That's a term of endearment in Australia because our possums are lovely and cuddly, whereas yours are Ferro. I believe, and not very nice. The Super Mario Brothers movie is coming close to making a $1 billion worldwide. I also don't want you the left to legislate immorality. I want to stop you. I want to oppose you. "One thing i enjoyed a while back you'll hang your. I think i reached out to you. Is when you interview. Dr vouch chee. I thought you were great because you were asking such smart important questions and in a little uncomfortable. It seem like but there are questions that we needed and you kept following up. How was that. And how was the response to the interview afterward. God and i. I'm leading to mention this. I've never talked about this before. But i i think that dr pouch never expected. I mean he thought mexican comedian. He's gonna ask whatever questions where in which armed should i get vaccinated in the morning or in the afternoon. And when i had the opportunity of interviewing him. I did a lot of research stopped. Everything said dies for the next week anything but we search for this so i did a lot of research on of course the uncomfortable questions and i think it was very interesting. Probably uncomfortable for him but it was a very interesting interview and i had like Almost more than half an hour doing really hard hard questions to him. And it was very useful for everyone to see I mean to for all their doubts the because all we all have doubts about all this so it was very very very interesting. it was at. And how does it work so fourteen of the best surfers in america. Seven men seven women that comes from hawaii california florida puerto rico all coming together competing and surfing to become the ultimate surfer. I grew up in ottawa canada. Which is the mecca of pro surfing. As we all know so i did. I did absolutely vis much growing up right. I was a snows- snow server. All that snowboarding. Right but it's funny man like since i played football with the gators than the new york giants. I've i've always kind of been a fan of serpent from a distance and kelly slater is named to me. That was a guy that i sort of looked at i admired. He's like the michael jordan of professional surfing when eleven world championships. He's totally transcended the sports. So when i found out that he was a part of this and we were going to be filming the show at his surf. Ranch in california. I just do. This is something that i absolutely had to be a part of. Oh i'm excited to hear that. He's a part of it. I didn't want to ask. And i was gonna be disappointed if he was in. Because i would venture say. Because i do love surfing in being in southern california kid i would actually say not only is kelly one of the best servers of all time. It definitely the best but just all around best. Athletes really is the way he's been able to stay on top for so long. It's just unbelievable. And the things he's been able to do i. Honestly i'd i'd put them in there in the mount rushmore for best athletes. I don't that's not far fetched right. No i think you're absolutely right. And i think the thing which really cool about kelly when you get to kind of know him and you're around him you see he's got this crazy. Laser focus mental toughness that so many of the great athletes have right. I think my childhood growing up and people being canadian wayne gretzky. And then michael jordan. We mentioned tom brady today. They all sort of have that. It factor. that's something. Kelly has. Which is why i think he's a big reason why he's been so successful for so many years now in a sport exactly end as opposed to those guys to. I always think individuals sports right. 'cause there's so many factors that go in as you know to team sports but as an individual sport and to stay on top for so long credibly impressive so that's cool that he's involved serious credibility right there. Where where'd you find the other servers as opposed to or not as oppose. I should say aside from america. Where are the best ones. Come from well on this show. Mostly everybody's american. We got one guy coming in from puerto rico as well at our surfers basically come from all different walks of life and all the different levels of circuit we have some of the competitors on a show that have actually already been on the world surfing championship tour. So they've been there and they know by winning this. They get a chance to get back on at the championship towards so hard to get you expensive yet the travel. It's so competitive. Zoo now so i think for them. That's really really unique to. I think for viewers at home really. I mean you don't have to be crazy surf fan to watch and like this show. I think what's cool. Is that a lot of people are going to connect with our surfers because they all have their own individual sewri they all come from different backgrounds and a lot of them have had sorted navigate a different path. Getting to this point some have had to deal with different personal obstacles. Some different traumas. They'd had to get over to get here. Everyone has their own. Why why they're doing it. Why this means so much to them. This really is a once in a lifetime. Opportunity for seven minutes seven women and there's so much on the line. I think those personal stories in connections. I think we're really resonate with a lot of people at home. Yeah no it sounds very cool man have you. Have you tried it now have you. Have you gotten out there. I've tried surfing. I wasn't able to serve on this show because they were afraid. I was going to get hurt. I probably would have pulled might have torn a couple of acl's we all know that would have happened. Inevitably i would have been worth it though. So inevitably mariel. I'm the guy that's like hosting the show tons of foam. Oh i've just got all this envy on the sidelines watching all these beautiful people in the water. Doing what they're doing. Kelly's out there billy camper was like one of the best big wave surfers in the world. And i'm just. I'm just kind of there on dry land just allen myself off is because i'm just jealous. Well the thing is about surfing. And i'm sure this show will inspire a lot of people to try it. You can suck and it's still a lot of fun. Just yeah what you know what i mean. You don't even have over there with the big board. I'm still having a good time. Just being out in the sun and with the water and everything. It's it's fantastic jesse. I won't talk a little football season. How do you. How do you feel about my chargers. And i just remember rob cohen. His note was your too prissy like bring it like maker a little bit more earthy. And i was like i can do that. Not not totally lying. You know sure. Yeah dude i can ride horses like shoot yes i can. I can do anything and then later on. You're like oh gosh what am i gonna do But yeah i faked it. I faked it. I was in new yorker so i took cabs or the subway or buses and and then all of a sudden we the whole cast had to go to this driving score in vegas to learn how to respect the day. And i had to learn how to drive in this city which is like a challenge of itself super scary But you know what driving in la is even scarier like now. We'll get on freeways back in the day. So i'm recruiting you and specifically to be on my team because i unlike you don't play golf which is incredibly ironic considering how tournament and it's all for a great cause. It's never about actually playing golf. It's always about the charity so as long as the charities happy everybody's doing well everybody's app. That's exactly it. And i keep the tequila flow and so for that. I i may scratch tequila guy. Reference makes sense okay last time we talked out. You were on an rv road trip. I remember across the country. How'd that turn out and were you. Were you happy with it at the end of the day. No absolutely but you know what it was perfect. It was amazing. Great time the family. We literally did twenty thousand miles. Let 'em during the entire year and went everywhere just truly enjoy ourselves and had a great time. You know it's it's so important to be able to spend some time with the family and For me that's really what what the key to that road trip really was about was the spending time with family and We about to go out again. I'm leaving in In on saturday to keep on rolling down to another month well. What was your favorite place that you visited. you know. it's hard for me to say one favorite. I really enjoyed it was a it was a great. Rv resort in nashville. That was amazing. It was right on. The lake is on a peninsula right on a lake and it was gorgeous but then like also going up. "So i played through the campaign of black ops and then at the middle of it. I'll play a little bit of their songs sunlight. So i mean. I worked like that finding some ways just wreck retroactively. Keep bring that support but also mad some point having multi-player game nights that were could bring everybody in or nights or days. I mean all things will work out in time. I'm just going one step at a time. But that's part of my plan. So i can include all of you. I mean i. I love and appreciate all of you. I mean the this. This means a lot to me. It's not my day job. But yet i work hard to make it. It's almost like i treat like a not really a day job but just a day daily passion and this this really has kind of changed my life for the better reenters changed my life for the better and this is something that i no matter what happens in life. I don't wanna stop. So that's why i've gone. I am gone. I us on. Just what is the plan here but Yes so whenever you're available you know switching out between different people just thing everybody's scheduled to heaven as may voices maybe one day. We'll get to the point where we'll have a over to our over an hour and a half episodes in that way i'll maybe i'll have five people indoors right now. This is the maximum format. "This is different. Yeah it taxes you very very differently. I mean i think the the work that i put in the winters on the trainer helps outside but man. It's just it's very different when you when you're in that race environment on swift compared to some of the road right and we do. I honestly haven't done it crit since early march if the if the weather holds true for this afternoon. I'll probably do on this afternoon. Okay sweet because they're saying chances of rain in the area but it's only like fifty percent so they could end up being a nice day right outside. We'll see so you know other than that not on my end. Andrews claiming my project bikes turned into a headache which is not entirely true. The bike itself is is fine. I just need to get the group set off of the mayor to build it up but the wheels that i wanted. Even if i wasn't gifted the the project bike was that is where the headache is. But that's a that's a that's a tangent. I'm not going to go on right now. That's just a bunch of rhode riding a little bit of very little swift racing. Well actually on a slightly different recording schedule this week because next week sucks for me and it's normally though we recorded sewer actually recording a back to back weeks which is kinda cool ahead of time. Yeah we're we're being prepared for one nine was late but don't tell anybody and it is what it is. Yeah so yeah. That's that's kind of what's been going on with us again.
