Marie Osmond Still Gets AJ Going

"For the last 30, 40 years, I've been into Maria Osman. As corny as she may be, I think is really pretty. I was with her in person one night, my friend was teleprompter, some commercial she was doing. Not a commercial, but like one of those things you do like not a commercial. No, those things late at night. What the hell are they called? You know what I'm talking about? Those things where you talk about a blender or an air fryer. One of those things that people do late at night and she was involved in one of those. So he went to go film it. I'm with him. And we watched Marie come out, do her thing, and I swear she still looked as good as she ever did. And it intimidated me. I could barely talk to her. I did talk to her at some point, just said some pleasantries, but I don't know. Maria has been turns beyond and also intimidates me. Maybe it's because when I first thought she was hot, I was a young kid and now I'm an old man and I still think she's hot.

I'm all in on this. Maybe the sounds wonderful. I love the title. I love the mystery. And i love the ending little thing that they did here and the synopsis. So i'm gonna go focus focus for forming patrick. I would like to save before. I get started if you see a dead body. Don't kick it. You should call nine years the work clear. I'm gonna write that down right down brand. Write that down. So this movie's interesting because drew seeley is famously. The voice of sack ephron singing voice in school musicals. That's true we love him for that. Thank while only high school musical one musical twos accent. I'm doing my own singing in the world's good fram but yeah so we love to recede on lifetime. Drew also plays a murderers a lot. He's very much the The boyfriend that got broken up with that will follow you around. He's like kinda pull in like a you situation on legs like that type of vibe is what he usually plays But i could see him being chiming in a christmas movie. And i don't understand like it's movie about a movie theater 'cause that's like so weird but i guess movie theaters can be magic. Share whatever Upward up for this one but like hesitantly. You know yeah yeah. It's one mocha for me. And that one mocha goes to brands dead corpse. Joke has to at least be as offensive. Not more offensive than anything i've ever said on on this program. "Sorry bob. Worcester, can I just say this? Worcesters sucks. They're a nice parts of it. I mean, holy cross is beautiful, sitting up on a hill and the kids and it's a dog up there. And then there's other neighborhoods where you say, wow, look at these beautiful houses and look at this. This is nice, the DCU center, all that. The city in general is a shit hole. And I'm not going to apologize for this because if you live there, you know I'm right. If you've been there, you know I'm right. If you drive as a Lyft driver there, you're damn sure, no, I'm right. It is a pit. And you see how the street corners and people are you're challenged. Food challenged in this day and age. They're not food challenge their big fat people. Every street corner, big fat people, with giant big fat asses and big fat stomachs and fat necks and fat faces. They're fucking fat. Do you have a solution to this problem? Well, you know, yeah, talk to Marie Osmond. She'll straighten you. The fact is that I'm just saying this. The town is a fucking mess. It really is. If you were the mayor of Worcester with three things would you fix right away? The fatness would be first. Well, you know, because that makes the sidewalk crumble. And the potholes. No, but it honestly it's like, it's not a great place. It's not a great place. Now, luckily, for me, there's a lot of fun people that I can pick up in my lift vehicle and take them somewhere. And by the way, let me just say there are some really nice people. I'm not saying people aren't nice. I'm saying they're fat. Have you had any interesting fairs as I say? Yes, many. Yeah. I've had many. I had one. I want to talk about fat people. I picked up this. I don't. I picked up this trio. At a Kentucky fried chicken. And there was a big giant fat woman, a big giant just as fat, man. And there was this little thin girl who sat in the middle in the back 'cause you know, when you're Lyft driver now you can't put people in the front because of COVID. That's right. So they all had to get in the bag I told them. So you've got to fit in the back. I'm looking at them, I'm going to happen, because these people were giant. They squeezed in, the skinny girl and the middle course in the middle between the two fat loads. And I swear to God, I went up the hill toward to leave the parking lot and the car was going so slow. It felt like someone through ten sandbags in my trunk. I couldn't go any faster. And it was like, oh, so you got like haystacks, Calhoun in your backseat. Right. It's like 800 pounds in my back seat. Seriously. Between the three of them. Three three and two. So I'm going this is not good for my gas mileage or anything. Fat, fat two and half fat. I was like, unbelievable. But it was fun. I got him home safely. They didn't say a word to me. By the way, do you prefer that? Let me ask you, do you prefer when they talk to you? If they're morons, yeah, I don't want to talk to them. But sometimes people say, oh, they're perfectly fine. You know, and you have a nice conversation with somebody. I like that. I like that. And I get good reviews on my. I'm a 5 or 5 rating as a Lyft driver because they call me a friendly driver with a clean car. See? You know? That's nice. Or clean driver with a friendly. After those three different KFC I had to degrease the pack. Anyway, here's one thing I've also learned. And this is not in any way a reflection of anything about any ethnicity. But I know that's a dangerous setup. You know what it is? Here we go. But here's the thing. If you blindfolded me, and this is something I've got used to a lift. If you blindfolded me and someone got in the car and I smelled either the perfume or the aroma of because it's what people eat is how you smell. If you eat a certain type of food, you're gonna smell like that. I can, if you blindfold me, tell you the ethnicity with a 90% accuracy of the person who just get in the car without seeing them or talking to them. By smell. Did you know what these smell like? Do you have a database in your head of what the smells are? So if Bill or I just mentioned a smell, you would know the ethnicity or the region that came from. Right. If Bill Smith got in the back of my back of my lip vehicle. Yeah. I go. Bang, he's an English man. I smell bangers and beer. You know, whatever. It doesn't matter. I know, I know what associates with those perfumes. Legacy and perfume. I'm gonna say, okay, she's, you know, a white woman who's in her 50s. Whatever. I can nail it down perfectly without seeing them. So you can profile. Yeah, that's right. You can profile. No, it's not even provocation. Instincts. Get it telling you what it is. Instincts. Yeah. How do you think dogs do it? Seriously, and it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It's not discriminating one or the other. It's anyone. It gets in. It's like the guy that guesses your weight at the county fair. So what is a Canadian smell like? Always. Always Molson and Tim Horton donuts. How do you look damn rich Sox, by the way? Hey, how about that? Yeah. Remember when you gave up on them? Yeah, I did. You did, you gave up. Well, you know why? Because I didn't know any of the players. Do you know that they have more? This is a record breaking team for one reason. Yeah. They have more players on this team. And if you call up their roster, you'll see what I mean. Whose names end in Z can you name any of them? Give me that Ross. Rodriguez. Kiki Hernandez. Where's the Eduardo Rodriguez? Cortez. Christian Vasquez. Go down the list. Marwyn Gonzalez. Vasquez, Jonathan rose, a ruse. Jack Lopez, munoz, where are we going? I rod, we said that one. Martin Perez. He will go to the ballpark. Darwin's and Hernandez. Phillips has ten guys whose names end in Z, do you tell me another team where that's happened before? The 72 Pittsburgh byers. No. Of course, 72 pirates had Roberto clementi and Al Oliver. Don't forget bob Robertson to first base and the catcher was Manny sank in. That ends an end. And Richie Hebner who ended up being what's the person undertaker? No, who Paul bearer? Gravedigger. He was Hebner, ended up being a grave digger. After he left a monster truck grave digger, or no, no gravedigger. Actual graves were bodies go in. They've cover it up with dirt. The guy that digs the holes in. Was that like his real-life passion? Baseball was his way to make money, set himself up so he could grave dick for the rest of his life. He was digging for a while. Yeah. Of course it was a very grave situation. You know, people are dying to get in. I'm gonna bury this conversation. Here we go. Now, who's next? Oh, yeah. But you have more greasy. I have shitload of grievances. Festivus. I have, first of all, what's with this is a Massachusetts town names where people can't pronounce properly. I'm going to ask you guys, your master's Concord. No, no. I'm going to tell you the town. Yeah. I'm going to spell it. Chelmsford. But if you're from. Yeah. Yeah. If you're not from there, it's chelmsford. HAV, ER, L? Have it's built phonetically it's HA VR you will. Yeah. That one makes no sense. How about LE I CES TER Lester? Lester. For now, Lester. It looks like Lee Chester..

"You know what i'm going to stick with history. Let's just go with that. And remember i recorded in advance. Let's talk about the state in history. Shall of the first world series happened on this day in nineteen. Oh three boston red sox they won the first modern world series defeating the pittsburgh pirates in the eighth game which took place on this day. Now nineteen seventy one another world series this time a night game. Yeah it was the first ever game for the world series now. These days most of the games are played at night. The day games are the oddity. Why well because they want more people watching and right now just like every year in the playoffs right now. it's happening and i figured out. A great way to figure out the winner of the world series. Now keep in mind. I'm recording this the day before. So i don't know who wins. Who loses today. Which is tuesday. But it's actually wednesday when you're listening to this anyway here it is. It's about food okay. So tampa bay like they. They lost to the red sox will why because tampa bay is famous for the classic cuban sandwich boston red sox for clam chowder come on of course boston's gonna win that. Let's see so houston astros. They've got fo- versus the deep dish pizza in chicago but see astro. Also in houston. They've got brisket. So i'm gonna say they win that. One dodgers versus giants come french dip versus sour dough bread san francisco atlanta braves southern food milwaukee cheese kurds. I'm gonna go with the braves series as well. So i think really of all those foods. The best is probably the sour dough bread. So san francisco. I think is gonna take it this year. There you go. It's all about the food. Let's take a look at our birthdays today. Marie osmond turns sixty two. Nancy kerrigan is fifty to sasha baron. Cohen is fifty today and she's thirty two today. That is look at october thirteenth. Thanks for listening to this is today. I hope you enjoyed learning about today. And i hope you win some money. Go sour dough. I'm russ i'll talk to you tomorrow..

"Mhm. Paul, You're still there. Paul Anka, the legendary Paul Anka is with us today. And what some great stories people are calling in loving your story, especially the backstage one area. They said that Diana sucked, and certainly not the case. But how did it feel? I got to ask you. There's a great video. You had your 80th birthday recently. And so many celebrities. Got on that video from Jimmy Kimmel to Alec Baldwin, Jennifer Aniston, John Travolta, Marie Osmond, Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, Wayne Newton, Suzanne Somers, Warren Buffett. Michael Bubbly, Of course, Quincy Jones. All of these people had such nice messages. My favorite was from Leeza Gibbons. She said. You're the world's best on stage performer bar None. How did all of that field you know? I mean, even though Donny Osmond accused you of stealing puppy love, but that's okay. That's funny. Well, you know, I know them all and their friends and you know, somebody put the arm on and we're going to surprise Paul, and it's always great. When you hear that from your peers, especially, I mean, what else are they going to say? I humbly take it and you know the real Can boost all of that would be the fans that you don't know about that. You know, checks me and got in touch with me and sent things and the words from them, you know, are probably a little More important to me, nothing. I'm shooting down all my buddies. It's you know, these are people that have followed me for years, and there's a different kind of sincerity from them. And that's what was very touching, Let alone you know, look being around for All this time and still doing what I love and still touring and still writing and still recording, you know, because I I tried to keep the old man out of here for years, and I'm still going to do that. And if you stand still, they're gonna throw dirt on you. So it's just a number. It was just a number and I just keep forging ahead. You know, I just don't live that way. But, you know, having being acknowledged from from from all my friends and the fans was real cool. It's always cool. It's just so great when it's for a birthday and you get to actually enjoy all of the sentiment and hear all the sentiment because How many times do we wait too long to tell people what they meant to us and and, you know, Sentiment like that only comes at a funeral. And it's so nice to tell the person when they're here and and able to enjoy how much they really mean to. You reported that you know Warren Buffett, you mentioned his name l in your body and He loves to sing my way with me, and we've gone Oh, my dream was saying, but you know different events. And when we first met, he said, You know, Polly, that my way is going to be at my funeral. I said Wow, Ward, I said, How would you like to be the one singing? He says? What do you mean? I said, Well, listen, next time you can all your for business. I know you go to your hamburger place because he loves and Berg hamburgers and coke took him in the studio. And I started this company that we do holograms. And I sat him in the studio capital. We had the orchestra and we filmed and recorded Warren Buffett singing my way. Wow, That's incredible. Family is holding it. He's got it. He listens to it almost every day. I understand in his office. He's a hell of a guy, but it's moments like that when you really you get someone you know, like Warren. I mean, you have to know that he's the real deal. I mean, this cat doesn't care about houses and cars and drive right exactly uses that good brain and when you're with them Have more fun with him, but for him to embrace the song like my Way, and It's going to be at the funeral. We just spoke the other day. He was 90 91 to 91 I say doing morning says You have no idea how good it feels. You turn 90. Wow and you know, he's ageless. It's amazing the brain and his energy and I got to ask you, Paul, though making memories. Why didn't you include the Warren Buffett? Version of my You have Michael bubble and Andrea Bocelli on it. I mean, he could be that Alan wasn't that good? I called Ward and I told him I said I I know you're not available. Can we use book blood? He said, Sure, I wanna you know Harvey Levin's of buddy. Yeah. I spoke to Harvey. Because, you know they were rising. Um years ago because he was singing my way in is you can't sing and I came to his rescue. I took him in the studio recorded my way and then he came on stage. And sung it on my West Court West Coast tour and you know it's moments like that, and he said, Herbie said, Why don't you put me on instead of boob like, hurry called And you didn't answer. I came up with a lie. You know that, But, yeah, we're He loved bubbly and Bocelli and he was all over it. Harvey has one word for you. He says relevant And that's saying a lot because you know he's been through with Tim's. He's so many people that are no longer relevant. And he says Paul Anka is the epitome of relevance. And you know when you think about that it's crossing generations. Uh, but, you know, I wouldn't want to hear him. You know, when you talk about Andrea Bocelli? How was that in Michael? Bubbly? Olivia Newton John. I mean, you pick some wonderful, wonderful singers. To share making memories with well the The choice you know, was not really difficult in a sense that it wasn't and it isn't to do what's album but with shoulder and tiktok. You know, everyone was saying you've got to do shoulder Well, I didn't want to hear myself again. I've heard it enough with that song all the way through. I've got to get someone else on there and Just things started to happen. And I got in touch with Olivia who's just an amazing woman. You know, I've known her a lot of years, but her courage and everything else. Yeah, they're artists. We know that So she said Yes. And you know The beauty of all of this is years ago. We were not living in a the technology world, you know, and that's a whole other story. I'll give you some more cases on that. But I realize, you know, Olivia went into studio in Santa Barbara. L Diva went into studios Spain to New York called Andrea..

"I just attended a conference up in stamford connecticut. I could tell you a lot of the venues. i mean. They're trying to get the younger audience and they're forgetting about the older people. The ones that really have a lot of disposable income and that really like old classic broadway or even some of the old popular songs. Also another reason was you know the over fifty. Five group was really hit. Hard by potent and a lot of them are still very hesitant to go out and others are still having a hard time dealing with all the ramifications of loss of loved ones at and so this really is to help lift their spirits going forward because we are here and we don't wanna live our lives. These i don't being totally depressed. Change your mindset in. Try to be joyful going forward as much as possible. I think that's the king that speaks to all of us as artists is that we know how the arts can lift our spirits and make a difference. You mentioned that music has always been a part of your your life you know and how. How did that evolve to be where you are here today. Well i'm classically trained. And i started out doing opera and classical music but really did it. I did a big tour. The sound of music and i was the mother abbess and when all the united states and asia with marie osmond i did not do marie osmond in the united states just just in europe and one of the gals in the casts actually said to me you know you really appeared to really like richard rodgers. Preseason game here at allegiance stadium bringing the record now to allegiant Stadium to three wins. But that wasn't the story of the game story of the game was really what was like their fans in the stadium further first time. What was it like there. Tonight you know was really cool. Heidi and i. It was cool. Three hours for the game. Mark davis the owner. Who had vowed never to go to a home game without fans and he kept his word. Last year was ear His mom carol was here a lot of politicians and dignitaries and three hours before the game we saw mark davis cut a ribbon kind of a ceremony ribbon with a bunch of other like i said like local celebrities to officially open the stadium to fans he was up in a podium and down below thousands of raider fans kind of looking up at him and cheering confetti going and then when he when he clipped that a ribbon man they they stormed the building and they were excited and happy and just you know just really stoked to be here to cheer their team on for the very first time so it got loud from there. It was loud all night at a sold out. stadium win. Lower fifty thousand actually came fifty thousand one hundred one even tonight. You're going to get some won't come to an exhibition game but it was really loud. Heidi and I think mark davis and his mom and every new organization was really proud to finally open up legion stadium to their fans. Not just that but you mentioned the celebrities. Marie osmond with the star spangled banner santana at halftime annuals had marianne mandelson light. The al davis torch What was that like watching all of those acts and the people they came together for this event. Yeah it was really cool. Mean dr addison lighting. The torch was really cool. They showed her and her husband. The late sheldon adelson. A kind of a memorial to him on the screen yet. A lot to do with the stadium early on we all know that Riyaz men like you said santana I thought it was cool. Heidi up for the game. They honored a frontline workers. Medical personnel You know construction workers in the stadium the honored a bunch of people before the before kick-off dead had a lot to do with the building of this stadium so i thought the raiders played it to perfection in terms of honoring the people who should be honored and getting their fans involved And it was. It was a really cool night And then they won. The game is like you said I wrote the same thing in my com that you set off the top. I think the last graph mccollum was a score of the game. And it for the ringer knows. Good for the raiders. To win i mean they need success anywhere they can find it on the field but in this night. I think everyone would agree in jon. Jon gruden said it was one of the most important games. He's ever coached in. Think about that when it's an exhibition game..

"Bless your for that man you guys are offering anyway The game last night was awesome. And i was thinking. Imagine it if you have an all star game there and you have all all stars coming out of the corn in retro uniform system at one time. But i think that would be a great idea. It would be spectacular damp. And here's why. I don't think it will happen. The all star game is a reward to whatever city gets it runs. Raise a whole weekend of events. And there's a fan fast and makes you. And i both been two all star games. Yeah it and so the owners that get that all-star star game make millions. But dave of what. I think you will see is. I think you're going to see a game in the cornfields every year. If not a series. And i think they're going to rotate the teams. I don't think next year it'll be necessarily the yankees. Dodgers could be either the judge. Do you want to put the white sox in it every year because of the tight in the movie. I don't think i don't think it needs those uniforms. By the way the white sox should absolutely use alternate union. The funny it's funny that the white sox people that live in that town or in in iowan general can't even watch white sox games that they're sixteen. They're blacked out from for geographical six six closest teams to iowa right and they can't even watch any of those games by the way. I think that rob manfred needs to get his hands on the wheel of this. I know that he he has said for years. And that's why we couldn't watch the dodgers for seven years He says that we tend not to interfere with business deals through individual clubs. Yeah but he's the steward of the game that thing lindsay's talking about that. People who live in iowa can't watch the six closest teams including that hobson. The white sox rob manfred should be able to come in and say okay. We're going to allow people in these cities to watch these games on. Mlb app and because it's our game and it's our product and for fans with one thing. I learned about those seven years. We couldn't get the dodgers billionaires arguing against billionaires sure and the only people that got screwed where the fans and we got screwed out of vin scully's last two years yup and. I think that that should never happen. Again glenn lindsay. I'm glad you brought that up. I thought that the fact that there there are black manfred says it's a huge priority for us but he needs to have a nuclear option. He needs to be able to come in and say all right. Look part of the condition of you. Being a broadcast partner for any of our thirty teams is that you have clearance in eighty percent of the market. If you don't you can't do it. And they're gonna solve. Yeah it is it is. I mean you're destroying business deals. What the dodgers did is partly funding. Why we have two hundred and eighty five hundred and it would have been lawsuits left right and yes but and by the way the dodger network does a fantastic job go. Yeah delaware a great program. We should have been able to see it. It should have been a condition that spectrum or sports time warner owned him should have had to have clearance of eighty percent of the market before the deal got approved. Yeah i think they should do that. Moving for now. everybody's happy. the networks. Great the people who who are on tv. The pre and post game shows are great. Go davis and oral or awesome. What a team. But we shouldn't have been have waited seven years the siham. That's not fair coming up. Next dodgers now. Five games behind the san francisco giants. Is it too much. Can we catch him john. Ireland says not going to. It's going to be a wild car. I think they can catch him. But i you're worrying about it like it's doer. di must win. John no mine. The giants are good. They've been in first place since april reason it right and we've got to catch him. Get the wild card and beat them through the. That is such a disaster. We'll get to that coming up next for you. Plus a little spin the wheel of questions. And i've got a separate question for lindsey separate question. That's coming on twitter. That's coming up next for you mason ireland seventeen. Espn two minute. Is that real as marie. Osmond really singing the national anthem. They always they're supposedly get get someone who's like doing a show in vegas. Is there anybody. That's less silver and black. Then marie osmond. What are you talking about riyaz. Man is is back man chino. She's the spokesman for one of those weight loss places. She looks fantastic. Marie osmond folks for nutrisystem. You are and we'll find out is the course of the season moves on. You are the worst raiders fan. You are the most in out graders hand. There is out in them out. I checked it and she is. It says las vegas resident she lives there industry icon. Marie osmond joins in a lustrous list of performers. Who joined honored. Who have honored. America before raiders game blah blah blah. She's gonna kick off the national anthem prior to their loan home. Preseason game at twenty twenty one. that's an embarrassment. That's an embarrassment. Marie osborne is gonna send at the raiders game. Hey she's a little bit country donny's labor rock and roll man. That was the number. One is a little bit. Lame for a raiders game. You know who's going to do. The halftime show is tanna. That's cool yeah yeah. So what makes you know. You've never been to the room but right have you okay. No but i've seen a video tour of it. Yeah and all over they paid tribute to people. Like elvis and wayne newton and sinatra. Like vegas dion. Vegas icons has attribute incited like elvis's wearing a raiders jumpsuit. So that's the thing they tie vegas osmond. Now i get carlos santana. I don't get ryazan by the way kevin office coming up for you in thirty minutes. I i don't know who's singing the national anthem tomorrow night. Yeah he'll know and if there's going to be a halftime show all that kind of stuff. So that marie osborne was chosen. Because elvis and wayne newton were probably not available well win. Newton's library is alive. But i don't know that he's he stopped singing because i think he retired around kobe. Because i guess he had some shows with tony bennett. He had some shows scheduled like some kind of farewell things. And and then. I guess you non-state he was going to retire because cova killed the end of his his biggest stint in any way. Just like i'm done. Do you guys know how old tony bennett is. It's got to be ninety. "Soc chicks with ponytails. Running around is thick is as mosquitoes on minnesota. Summer night mean there ponytails or the number of people there. Ponytails are thick. You know no no misunderstanding population. In general. yeah that that sentence was getting a little long anyway. Just just paid a picture of where we're talking about. Let's go ahead and set the scene a couple of interesting aspects of this number one the debate in general. But you're going to hear in a few minutes from a mom who spoke in front of the school board. Who's going to blow you away but this is a report first of all and clip thirty three on what's going on. It's unfortunate that children are being used as a political cudgel. We have to get past the anger. Emotions ran high at a loudon county. Virginia school board meeting more than one hundred twenty citizens showed up to speak many alarmed by proposed changes to the classroom curriculum. That critics call critical race theory. One concern mother said her children are being intimidated and silenced. I have a fifteen year old daughter and she can't say who she likes politically because she's colored racist. The school board was also accused of unfairly punishing gym teacher. Tanner cross suspended for speaking out against proposed changes for dealing with transgender students apparent. Supporting lt rights fired back at critics of the curriculum. Stop projecting your fear on our children. This isn't about bathrooms or white discrimination. Hate speech is not free. Stop turning equality into a weapon. A school board member noted this county. Schools are now in the national spotlight. The entire country is watching us. I hadn't even heard the term critical race theory until last fall. These controversies are tearing this county apart and we need to find a way to get that to stop now understand if you disagree with anything. These people say that makes you a racist disappointing to see barack obama in his interview with anderson cooper the other day it seemed pretty clear. He doesn't actually know what critical race theory and i realized critical race theory is pretty new on the map for most people and was very obscure in like way leftist academia. Yeah yeah and at first blush. Especially if it's dis- described to you by somebody who's not being honest about it. Why would we be against. Oh so you want to eliminate talking about race in schools. No no no. We want to eliminate the idea of white people are by their nature by birth racists and oppressors and teaching that two little kids so the white kids grow up believing they're they're bad just from birth and black kids growing up thinking that the white kid in the classroom is out to ruin them and they have no chance in life in the current system. It's so awful all the way around. Yeah the constitution's racists. The declaration of independence is racist. The country is racist. If you disagree with them you're a racist so anyway into that scenario comes a woman of virginia mom who actually endured maoz dungs cultural revolution in china. And this is a comparison. We've made many times. There are dynamics that are very similar. You know one of the reasons you study history. It's like a football coach. You the ideas. If you can identify certain alignments of personnel packages. You know what's going to happen. Will this stuff. That's happening with critical race theory. The weight your shamed and dragged out and forced to apologize and branded as a racist. It's straight out a mouse. Playbook it's easily recognizable anyway. Here's a mom who survived. Maoist china testifying to the school board. I've been very long. What's going on in school. You'll now teaching training. Children will be social justice warrior into loath our country and our history going up in mouse china or this from the communist regime. Use the same critical theory to divide people. Her who are you going to listen to while she said a lot more to. I wonder if we can find some more tape of her. I'm going to jump into the written version of the story in which she said several other important things. The cultural revolution began. When she was six years old she said immediately pitted students and teachers against one another by hanging big posters in the hallway and cafeterias where students could write criticisms against anyone. Deemed ideologically impure. That was she was describing that whole. What was the system. Struggle sessions will know. But but that lady just said there's the complaint system that exists and you can report somebody for not being anti-racist and she says it's the same she says. One of our teachers was considered bourgeoisie because she liked to wear pretty close so the students attacked her and spit on her. She was covered with spit and pretty soon. It became violence to me into a lot of chinese chinese. It is heartbreaking that we escaped communism and now we experience communism here a communist squads would rates on sorry raid homes. I can't really just say what i mean. Even though the other side can say whatever to me in a lot of chinese. It is heartbreaking that we escaped communism. Now we face this now. The the idea that you don't dare say what you believe otherwise you will be ruined. The communist regime used the same critical theory to divide people. The only difference. Is they use class instead of race. That's interesting stuff and scary scary af. Yeah well and just one. More note writer. I like says. I caught a glimpse of abram x. You can't argue about against that because it doesn't make any sense just a bunch of jargon strung together but if you dare say well we'll that doesn't sound like something. We ought to be teaching our kids. You're automatically a racist that is critical race theory. Fight it all. This stuff is too too heavy. I should spend more time on headlines like this. "You are in the right place because we are talking about In your own health care advocate and learning to realign yourself. And if you want to be your own health care, abot tit I can be the conduit to get you where you need to bay. So realign yourself in 2021 You know whether you have entrepreneurial burnout, CEO burn. Oh, Teacher burnout, Police Officer Burnout. Maybe travel Maybe your commuter in if you just burned out with the commute, we are not treat. In ourselves. Well, we don't get the right amount of sleep. We have too much stress. We work all hours of the day. We're not eating right? And you know this. Maybe this could be your wake up call because it's really the rain barrel effect. Maybe you've gotten away with this so far. Hi, Amanda. I see Amanda job was Jeremy's on good, Okay? So, um, Um yeah, And so you are not treating yourself your train yourself subpar. And so I want to know why that is. And what is the root cause of all this burnout That's going on. Um, what can you bring cure? Wife and to your body so that you could get healthier. Lose some weight, transform yourself and transform your body and work on aging slower and I hate this. I hate the anti aging stuff that's out there. There's no such thing as anti aging. Okay, so if you are about to buy a product and it says anti aging on it, I'm suggest you don't buy it because it's a lie. So you're starting out. You're buying a product that is actually lying to you because there's no such thing as anti aging, and that's a terrible way to start some kind of relationship, whether its final product from a company or whatever so We can try and live optimally for our age, and we can try and ease gracefully. That's all we can do. So you have to figure out what you did to get you to the spot where you are at today. And so the definition of insanity, right is doing the same thing over and over and over again getting the same results. And that's what all the weight watchers people do. And the Jenny Craig and whoever else and I had mentioned earlier. I would not trust Marie Osmond. When I see her on those Jenny Craig commercials because a she's not eating enough food. We all know that, too. Probably has a chef and a trainer, and whatever else you need to probably has a pool definitely probably has a gym. You know all those things that some of us wish we could have. And then I see her on this commercial where it's like. Get quick scheme. I don't know. I just don't trust the lady And I certainly would not advise you guys to trust her either. So don't make the same mistakes over and over again over again and You know, we don't just get sick, like overnight. You know, things build up. It's like the rain barrel effect. Finally, the barrel is gonna overfill if you're not eating, right, not sleeping, right and you're literally going to get sick And it's gonna feel like overnight or unfortunately, um, knock on wood here. Um, you are gonna have a heart attack or you are going to get wake up one day, and he told you have diabetes. And I don't want that for you guys. I don't want that for anyone, and such food can be such a big part of us getting away from those diseases. I am I. That's why I'm here every week, Right to get you guys to be proactive about your house. Not just, you know, don't Just do what the insurance companies are going to cover, because that is not going to get you where you need to pay. So maybe overnight, you wake up and you spelled my God you find out you have to both doctors. You find out you have diabetes, or you're getting migraines or you have rheumatoid arthritis. Or you find out. You have a thyroid issue like Hashimoto's, and you're literally building up toxins in your system. And so, you know, you just have to understand that some Times when the doctor So, for instance, Hashimoto is he's a doctor. They named that disease after a doctor who discovered there was inflammation of the thyroid caused by the immune system attacking the thyroid itself. So you're basically attacking your own body and so well that just tells you what is happening in the body. It does not tell you the heavy metals that maybe in your body or the viruses or the food sensitivities or the talks. Ends or the moles or anything that might be causing the immune system to react That way, you know, And so you know, when I grew up, I grew up in this error where people were eating devil dogs. They're taking Tylenol for pain suit A fed, you know, in the day, Benadryl at night, and you know, I'm here to tell you that none of those things were good for you. But as I got older Even my teenager years I started to realize that Yeah, this makes a difference when you sleep, right? You know, I had I had doctors Give me antibiotics for for acne. That totally screwed up my GI system. You know, I love my dermatologist men. Well, I don't really think that that probably was the answer. It probably was something I was eating. And Banta dermatologist used to say food has nothing to do with, you know, acne or rashes, which is totally BS. At this point, we all know it does. And so we know that bacteria as well as the guy is responsible for 80% of our immune system. So you can imagine as you're destroying your God, you know, Castle by Castle with antibiotics, you can see how the body may begin to break down and guess what? It's not going to be. Quick fix, But guess what Everyone can heal. Everyone can lose weight. Everyone can do something. I'm doing a program my first online digital course. It's called your diet do over and I have to tell you. I'm really amazed with everyone in that horse. They had a hard time getting started. All of them. You know, they all got used to the train's gotta get started. You know, it's not gonna be easy, but once it gets going, it's pretty going pretty well. And so I'm seeing I'm seeing progress, and I'm seeing people enjoy treating their bodies better and we covered top. It's from, you know. Getting enough sleep toe. Learning about white balance is so important and it's not just you know you're going to eat better, and your life is gonna be glorious. That's not the way it works. It takes effort. It takes time, and it's taking all those people in that group and your diet do over being proactive about their health. And that's who I attracted to the group. And that's why the group is so awesome. So you know, I'm sure I'll be doing other groups. That car is closed, which means you cannot get in there. But I do offer medical nutrition therapy covered by.

"And put in harmony with food. Meg and I will come right up and along with my website, and so When you look at chronic disease, we're basically trying to, you know, figure out what what these symptoms are and sometimes we kind of mess the symptoms and you know people are suffering sometimes when they don't need to go, And so that's when you need to actually become more proactive about your health. And I've mentioned before that bio, individualized nutrition or bio, unique nutrition is going to be the new is going Be actually a $64 billion industry and the near future, So we want to get on that track now. We don't want to wait till everybody else is doing it. Right. So I do do a lot of different testing in my office. Most the time we'll all the testing isn't covered by insurance s O. This testing is for people that are feeling either. Weight loss resistance, or they have G. I problems or they know something is off. And maybe it could be fixed through nutrition because we're all genetically compromised with different things, and we all have different needs. So when you hear things like the blood type diet or this diet, or whatever the name of the intermittent fasting weight watchers is calling itself ballistic these days. Give me a freaking break. Okay? Marie Osmond, will you see every other minute during her Jenny crap? Which we all know she's not eating that food. Don't insult our intelligence. Um, but the thing is, is that she then then you later see Marie Osmond and one of those, you know, get rich quick schemes. Like when a million dollars just mail this in or whatever it is, And it's like no, you know. Yeah. I don't trust you. I don't have that trust. Like, like and trust factor with humoring. I think that you're a phony, and I don't think you're eating that food. And I also you know when you go ahead and you do that commercial afterwards about winning a million dollars, um, that looks like another fraud to may. So I'm just like, how could I trust you s O. Obviously, I don't And so here it keep it a five nation we know that you know, diets don't work, and that there is a direct relationship between how much muscle you have and how faster metabolism is. And so with the thing, weight watchers and the big weight loss industry does not want you to know is that the more muscles you have, the faster metabolism is and dieting isn't gonna help that, as a matter of fact, dieting is going to actually make you Go, go your metabolism slower. So when you're done with the diet, whether it's weight watchers or Jenny Craig or ordering some food or whatever you're doing this week. Um, now you try and eat like a normal person say 1500 calories a day for a woman, maybe 1800 for a man and you're gaining the weight gain the weight gaining the way And so I'm here to tell you every Saturday that the big weight loss companies don't really care about your health. And and sometimes I feel like the big insurance companies don't either. And as a matter of fact, we know that big Pharma is profiting crazily and they're laughing all the way to the bank. And what conventional medicine does is get you on that road to be in On prescriptions, and that's not what I want for harmony with food nation. Okay, so I want you guys to start getting on the bandwagon start spreading the word that guides don't work. Tell people about the show that years every Saturday at 11 A.m. Eastern time, and and then the recordings go back with the show's going to a podcast and they go up on my site every week. Okay, so you can always listen to those there and then I had a lot of logs on there, so go over. Harmony with blue dot com. All you have to do is give up your email address, and then you're in and you can listen to all that good stuff. So sometimes we have to really look at, you know, are there food sensitivities are their food. Allergies are their food intolerances and I'll be describing all of that in a minute because I had a really sparked quiet this week asked me to please describe the differences to her, and I said, That's a great question, and I'm going to spend some time doing that in a minute. Um, But remember, you know, there is now state of the art lab testing, but there's also that I use and I affiliate with right, So so I'm not an affiliate. I just worked with them right So as a partner more so, this lab that I used is called vibrant wellness and and they are out of California, and they're really up and coming with technology. Now, could you find another company for less expensive? Absolutely. But it's not gonna be the same thing. You know, I compare it to this Esso. Let's say I use I order from a local friend, Um, that is affiliated with young living. I order some soap from young living, which is all natural. Good, you know, could rub it on your skin and not have to worry about these chemicals and stuff that they're putting in. Are other soaps that you might buy for a dollar? Right Adult? Maybe 2 to $3 for bar soap these days I'm gonna, and But I buy a bar soap and I go. Whoa. This is kind of expensive, right? 10 bucks, But the thing is it last like, five times longer than the other. So that just Windle's away day after day after day, so you do get You know you do get what you pay for. I know that's cliche, but I am not gonna partner with a lab that I think is doing subpar work. I'm just not going to do it, so I'm gonna pick and choose who I want to work with. So I like young living products. I order some of those girlfriends. All right, ordered myself, but she's affiliated with them. And I like their products, and, um, but, you know, You have to understand that? Yes, you might pay more. But you're going to get you're not gonna get subpar quality. So, speaking of Subpart, why is it that some of you if I drove out on the road right now, and I saw I went by McDonald's or Burger King. I live in warrants so I could go on the main drag and they're right down there, right? I bet you they'd be pretty busy. They're picking up there picking up right about now, and I wonder why those people Treat their bodies subpar. Why are you giving your body crap? And not giving your body the new transfer item. It's middles and protein that meat and then feeling my crap after you eat the stuff. I know how it goes, right so Don't want that for you guys and hear the harmony with food show every week. We're going to talk about little tips and tricks that we can do to get ourselves healthier to use food as your medicine, not food as a way to numb yourself and try and fill those voids in your life. On debts. Talk about what is everybody eating for the Super Bowl? I'm gonna put the number in. We're going to break in a second of the number. Here's 866. I'm on. I'm live on Facebook, 9 to 09455. I'm gonna put that up on the screen and then you guys can call in and tell me what you plan on eating for the Super Bowl. I think that would be really cool. And then maybe I could give you some suggestion. So eat 669 to 09455. And again. This is Maggie. You're listening to harmony with food, and we talk about nutrition. We talked about health, and we talk about why you need to be proactive about your own health and not let the big insurance companies run.

Is that with the bosses told you when we got promoted to mornings, All right, Shawn, you're now gonna move up to being a professional man like a full time man. I'm not 24 25 26. I'm 33 gonna be 34. I look at myself in a little more self respect now And now, if Aaron Angels have a season in the media event she's going to think Where do I know this guy from old? It's got that creepy tweet. We think that means by Andrew Folkish, and I think that's a bit spot you put me and I was a really bad job by you. Let me just say in defense of us You said earlier in the morning. Well, I mean You know, you guys let me go out looking like this. And it was at this point in time that me and Kenny Brock demanded that you shave your homer Simpson strands of hair at the top. When you first took over as the producer of the DEA show, January 2013. Me and Brock. Full heads of hair. You are already pretty much bald. Well, you were holding onto the two strands up top. You're doing the comb over a little bit. Were like, Dude, you just got to get rid of that. That's that. Can't be a thing here. Like what? You don't like it, you know, because it's nice. It's cool. No, I don't. No, no, no, no, It's not. This is not good. Then you shaved it. And we were like, you see, that's so much better. And then you agreed. So we have stepped in before and today yet You got it. You got to change this thing up. You have. I didn't say it was cool. What I told you was once they lose that I never get it back. And I was going to miss the feeling of getting a haircut because getting a haircut One of the most underrated feelings in the world share Remember having this conversation and I do miss that a bit. But you're right. I always looked like I was meant to be 40. And I think now that I closer closer to 40 that I was seven years ago, I look right. So I just I never looked right in my twenties when I look like a new old man that had lost everything. So you were that you were the Jennifer Garner Reboot 14 going on 40 Shawn Moore. As addition, I was always meant to be in my forties, even when I was in my twenties, So I think I look and fit the mold better now than I did then. You're like some kind of age. Scott, you've been sitting in a cafe in this kind of cast somewhere in the basement. Just aging to perfection. Cask of Nacho cheese. I am not. I am no oak barrels. This is pork fat barrels. I am not looking for any credit from YouTube Bozo's, but I will say this waged in barbecue sauce. When you look at them. They're getting bits of ranch dressing enough. And it wasn't your the ranch at that point. When you look at that picture of me and consider my age and now look at me today. Consider my age. Do I not look more handsome today than I did seven years ago? You look better. I wish you weren't wearing a giant's long sleeve shirt Z today. I mean, Cole will be nice to dress up once in a while for this show signs yesterday I won't button buttons on my shirt today. Pop off thinking, Wow. Reason insured his woman take thermal eyes. It's cold. No, you look better today. Ugo, You look better today. Thank you..

How in the world is publisher's clearinghouse still around? Yeah. Do you know what publisher's clearinghouse even cells? I mean, most people think of Publishers clearing House. As a sweepstakes company, right like a lottery. It's actually a company. Selling magazines. Right? Yeah, that's what it is. Who would have thought first of all Who still buys magazines. Ramon, Do you get a single magazine of your house, which one? You get parents or parenting? Parents magazine. They have one here with you. Have you read one of the articles? Does Amy really articles she does. No shame in natural speed, Good parent like what would be one of the articles. How to make no me no or something like that, Okay? Bring it with you tomorrow. I'm kind of curious What I used to read the hell out of boy's life. My boy's life that was a good magazine. Not in my forties, you weirdo. When I was like Tim, you go to the doctor's office. In the old days, the doctors would all have magazines out from And you know what's funny? When I was growing up. I was born in 70. So in 1980. When you went to the doctor's office, they would have magazines, the magazine that had just come out. 40 years later. If you go to the doctor's office, they still have magazines that same magazine. Sometimes they'll have magazines in her 15 20 years old. Which to me, I'm gonna stalls you go. I find to be thoroughly fascinating. I want to get back to the subject We've been talking about What is trumpism to you? But I printed this out. Thought you might be interested in San Francisco San Francisco teachers We're not going back to teach by the river. San Francisco teachers are also demanding The district install lids on every toilet, which would be closed during Flushing. Who presumably prevent the spread of the virus through aerosols or droplets, droplets released Although none of the millions of cases worldwide has been connected to a toilet. Let me read that again. So San Francisco teachers are refusing to go back to the school's unless a syriza of things that they're demanding. Are met. This is the holdouts a hostage negotiation. San Francisco teachers are also demanding The district. Install lids on every toilet. Which would be closed during Flushing. These are those heroic teachers. That Microsoft tells us about in their ads. Here's to the heroic teachers. Well, they don't think the teachers are heroic. The teachers are the ones who have been using. The zoom or whatever that is. UMA Microsoft product. Whatever the Microsoft product is Microsoft videos And Microsoft has made money off of this. It's important to remember That during this year when so many lively hoods were destroyed, so many people suffered so many Children didn't have a Christmas So many families have suffered and struggled. Because Mommy and or daddy Lost their job lost their wages didn't know where their income would come from. Lost. Their family business lost their side business, which is how they bought ice cream for the family and the nice things that make life worth living. It's important to remember that not everyone had a bad year. Microsoft probably had a great year because more people probably bought their software package. Amazon had a fantastic year. She's dating Scooter Braun that she met him at a sex club. You know that one? I'm not sure about. I don't know if he would Don't know what the benefits of him would be like. It was just like I get why she would want to date and a zafar him? I don't know. Um, I believe someone's still supporting her. I know she lives. She's moved out of the house in Pasadena, the big mansion she lives. I think I was taught a condo like a very, very upscale one. And I think Hancock Park or something, which is America's neighborhood and Yeah. So I don't I am a distance, like all still unfolding like how much it's very messy. Yeah, We made it the way I love it. She'll be back. I'm sure that housewives of Beverly Hills you I shall need it. And how about what are your feelings on Orange County this season? Because this is our first Reality show that at least I'm watching word that it was filming during Cove it and you know all of this and Bron one story. Some people are saying she's making up Will only the person that said That was Kelly. Does that yes. Made up your dime alcoholic, and I'm a lesbian for the show. What do you know about Orange County? Well, I'm friends with our Bronwen and I like her. I mean, she doesn't seem fake at all. Yeah. His story of At least for the most part True, I mean, any time you're on a reality show things hide their processed a little bit, But I really think she was on him like a journey of self discovery, I guess. Well, I don't think we've ever really seen anyone deal with alcoholism. That issue of alcoholism in as You know, kind of a gut wrenching way that we've seen with Iran when we did not see that with Luanne or, you know, I think of some of the other one. She really seems like she tugs at the heartstrings. Yeah. Definitely does, even like I was trying to think about Lisa made of the first about I guess of addiction issues on the show. It probably would have been Kim Richard really little, and that was hard watch. That was hard, but also she's very protective. And you know, there were a lot of secrets and things weren't being said to protect her. And with brawn When I mean she is the cameras on, it's wrong and you're showing during quarantine, like getting sober and during quarantine where you can't even go to meetings. I mean rough. That's tough. Um, I And I think obviously, Kelly wouldn't my perm because they're kind of polar opposites on the spectrum, and Bronwyn is getting favor. And so, Kelly, What else is she out? Can't lead is opens her mouth and stupid falls out while there when they were talking politics. It was so painful. Yeah, it is. It's painful, but I enjoy the Orange County and are you loving Salt Lake City, Jordan? I do. I really like Salt Lake. I do too. I'm Yeah, I like it. Good balance that I'm finally looks like Heather Man stuff. I talked to her. Hey, man, she had my back to that. I could do this sober. Yeah. Yeah, I like and I like with the show. It's interesting, because, um, I guess because it is a later franchise. These women of definitely studied housewives, so they're aware of what they're doing. But there's still not over produced like they're being very Yeah, they're being very head on about some of their personal issues like Whitney's father, Heather Heather, in her own journey with Mom. What would you call it? Finding love? Where's leaving the church? And I think that's kind of fascinating thing. The home sort of man am tangled up in it. I didn't expect this. When they first announced, realized solid city. I thought it would be a very picturing like Marie Osmond like a very more Mel's awesome show. Of the council's actually so diverse you have you even have I'm fascinated by Lisa Barlow having She converted from Judaism to the Mormon church. And I had never heard of that before. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, You're right. It is. It is so good, Jordan. We have to go. We're running way over time, but we're gonna be we're going to keep your number. "Shannon Show Mo Kelly. And for Gary In Shannon. It's likely the worst piece of television ever aired. And, ironically, enough, preempted Wonder Woman and the Incredible Hulk. I'm not kidding. I'm sure Linda Carter is still angry about it. And Bill Bixby. Well, he's dead, so I'm sure he's over it. But the Star Wars holiday special aired only once in November of 1978. It boasted such stars is Harvey Korman, BEA Arthur Diane Carol. It was a variety show, but a historically bad one veteran Hollywood TV producer Steve Kozak, you might know that name from the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show is in the process of making the documentary. A disturbance in the force. The making of the Star Wars holiday special A piece of Star Wars lore both loved and reviled for more than 40 years. He joins me now by a zoom, Steve. Good to talk to you again. Thanks for coming back on the program on her to be back with you, sir. I got to say the Star Wars Holiday special was the first spinoff movie If you will Course you know that taking place between Episode four and new Hope and Episode five The Empire Strikes back. It starts off Seriously enough. Han and Chewie, you're being chased by an Imperial cruiser and it all goes to variety. Show hell from there. Why? Yeah, well, I mean it zip was an intersection. It was a crazy intersection of mixing science fiction and action with Smaltz, you know the kind of vaudeville TV variety humor that was occupying the airways At the time. There was probably 60 to 70% of television in the seventies, when I was growing up with all the variety shows, so that's what it looked like. I hate to say it's sad, but you know that Z what it looked like if you're old enough to remember. It was like a bad episode of laughing and Flip Wilson maybe put together with a little bit of Donny and Marie Osmond, and they're still the way I could describe it. But I say that as a reference point because George Lucas is known to have been kind of a control freak with Star Wars properties, and if that's true, how did this particular special managed to happen? I mean, we kind of found out something that was really that was really cool by partner actually said. It's too complicated to explain his. You know, this is the total world for this. They have patients they have been So we really did kind of figure out what the actual reason why he did the special for so about two months after Star Wars came out, George Lucas was contacted by Warner Brothers films and they wanted to re release THX 11 38. And you know that film correct absolutely didn't like his US A film student at SC. It is a film student, and then he produced it for Warner Brothers is his first film shows two versions of it, and it didn't do well and, of course, Warner's wanted to re release it now that Lucas was hot, and so Lucas goes over to meet with them. And apparently the meeting was so frustrated because, the executive told Lucas charge Lippincott Gary Kurds, the two co producers of marketing Guy told the three of them well, don't worry about it intersecting and conflicting with any of the Star Wars business, because By the time we release it, we're going to release it in September when Star Wars is dead, So they took that personally and said, Well, we're we don't think it's it's on a trajectory right now too big to be the biggest film of all time. This was only two months into the run. And he said, Look, I know films I know. Summer blockbusters. This movie is gonna be dead by September. The kids go back to school, and that's it. I know the business. So they left this meeting absolutely infuriated with this executive, Lippincott said. To me, the market head of marketing and the vice president working for the whole Lucasfilm think of the time, he said. We made it a mission that we wanted to keep that movie alive in the theaters, if for one thing, only just to piss off this executive To show him. This has legs and it will last. They knew it anyway, but it just made them obsessed about it. And with that, within hours, he gets on the phone and starts working ways to get television shows Donny and Marie the Richard Pryor show. Bob Hope special on subject in December, but But those two shows Donnie Marie in the Richard pressure. Keep the air in September. Just the last past this point to show off this executive So I have been on this mission to figure out who on Earth because what kind of happening Wasps Because the special was aired. These Star Wars characters made appearances on the dining Marie show and on the Richard Pryor show. The film receipts spiked in the box office that month. So Lucas looked at this and says, Well, this is a gold mine. We need to totally use television. Just keep promoting our films, and he did several more. Did the Muppets He did the bottle of special, eventually creating The Star Wars holiday special so knowing that that executive is a direct line to create to the impetus to creating the Star Wars holiday special. I was obsessed and trying to figure out who this guy was. Living cat died last year. But for two years he did not remember the guy's name. He could not remember it. And after he died, I kind of made it my mission to figure out who this guy Woz. That motivated them so much, You know, he's basically responsible for creating the special so his widow contacted and found some paperwork in his boxes of stuff, and it was a journal that he had written in and in the journal, he told the story. 30 years ago, And he said the executive was named Frank Wells. Now you know who Frank Wells is. No. Frank Wells was the number two guy at Disney. What's relevant about this is Frank Wells in night and is listed in all the Lucas biographies. Frank Wells in 1971 was at Warner Brothers, and he is the guy that cut four minutes out of THX 11 38. He also told Lucas and the producer of the time Francis Coppola. He wanted their seed money back that they had put up to launch a Zoetrope. So if you look at the big picture now, Frank Wells is head of business affairs. He's not even a creative person. He happens to be in this meeting. He directs the re editing of THX 11 38 infuriates Lucas a couple years later calls him in because he wants to re release THX now that it's because of his name. He mocks Lucas and says it's never gonna last past September becomes a great biggest biggest grossing film of all time at the at the moment. This is the guy that winds up infuriating Lucas and Frank Wells became it was 86 becomes vice chairman of Disney. At the time. So this is the guy he was killed in a helicopter accident in 95. So was George Lucas, then trying to ride the wave of the TV television variety specials and thought that that Formula was going to be the best way to present Star wars to a television audience. Well, he did it for revenge. Clearly in the beginning, But then, when they aired two shows in September, he realized that they spiked in the box office. Star Wars receives went up. I think 20% that week. So that's when he just became obsessed, and it gave him a real positive. A time. Television was kind of the poor man's medium compared to film right, but it worked for him. He saw what it did for his film, so he went ahead and embrace television. Thus, the Star Wars holiday special. But if you look at the I am devi dot com credits there are a lot of people stars in their television primes. Who are part of this Was that a hard sell? Looking back on the people that you talk, too? How did they appear? What's that? Even the guest stars? Absolutely well. The guest stars were happy to do a special. I mean they Harvey Korman and Bea Arthur. They actually had been off their shows at the Mod and Carol Burnett had just gone off the air. So they were all happy to do television. The guest stars were in a great but you know it was the Star Wars brother probably got to bring their kids in. It was Harrison Ford, Mark Camel and Carrie Fisher that were reluctant to do it because you know his Mark Hamill said. He saw it is it is a completely not something that Scott that Star Wars would do. He didn't understand it, but he's right. And because of Lucas kind of pressuring him to insist that well, they needed to kind of keep the Star Wars name brand a lot. Live between the time of Star Wars and 77. Empire strikes back in 1980 that it would be good for everyone would be good for the franchise would be good for everyone. So they reluctantly said yes and participated. We just do it again. I'm in the middle of a conversation with Hollywood TV producer Steve Kozak as we discussed a disturbance in the force the making of the Star Wars holiday special, So keep it right here. This is the Gary Indiana Show Mo Kelly in for Gary and Shannon Camp. I am 6 40. We're live everywhere on the I Heart radio app now to the news room for an update A stay.
