In the American league and we gotta go play well and that's kind of how we look at it and and you know our guys I think are looking forward to that challenge going there and playing a really good club. The Red Sox played in Baltimore the final game at their series. Let's face it. Every time you face Baltimore. "Dot com Twitter feed like my guy Kevin be tweeted in. Because I read off a stat that I thought was interesting about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who's obviously the all time leading scorer in the NBA history. Never scored fifty six points in a game James Harden's done that three times in the last nine days Kevin be tweets in and if you'd like to spend the rest of the program discussing all the things Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is accomplish. The James harden is not accomplished you probably have to start now hashtag empty points. Like, that's the other thing. The do it in the playoffs. Crowd is going to come out strong for James harden. And of course, people for I've I really don't think people like seeing James harden be successful because of his style of play. I don't think people like seeing that get rewarded at this point in time. Maybe I'm wrong. But right now, it's time for straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. Best phones, best networks, no contracts. As I mentioned yesterday was a lot about major league baseball hall of fame the inductees. Their Mariano Rivera, the first unanimous hall of fame selection with one hundred percent of the four hundred twenty five votes required to get you into the hall and our conversation immediately turn to the next hurdle that starts to come. And that's the steroid era players in major league baseball specifically Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds who have about three years left for their chance at the hall of fame in this window before we go to the veterans committee. We know they're not getting in off any of that. But with what they've got left both right around fifty nine percent of the vote. This time around. Have enjoyed incremental climbs as the years of gone on as far the percentage of the vote overall. It's not going to be enough. These guys aren't going to get into the hall of fame and one player specifically is a little bummed out about that. I appreciate though where Alex Rodriguez comes from this because hell I think all of our hearts of hearts, I asked this question yesterday. If you are someone who is chief at this level. What does your own? What is the man you see in the mirror like what are you allow yourself to think about your career about the things that you've done and about the recognition that you serve one guy made no bones about it? Here's Alex Rodriguez. I'm not gonna make a case for myself. I'm and it's hard for me Stephen as to speak about berry, and and Roger barely speak for myself. But what I will tell you this. I mean, look, I it's such a moving target. The HANA fame is the most prestigious hall of fame still off time of any sports. And when I when we have a day where I have three. Really good friends in Marino in Edgar and Messina getting in. There's a small part of me that feels that. I got an and so I can't make a case I made my case when I made my mistakes, and I'm going to have to lay on my bed. So I'm still hoping I maybe when they get in. I last Michael junior here on ESPN radio and ESPN app. Alex Rodriguez who obviously admitted to taking PD's served that season long suspension back in two thousand fourteen was Vilnai's four, but the Alex Rodriguez glow up since then has been substantial obviously, his workers a broadcaster is certainly helped that his open conversation. And how candid he has been with the approach that he took to that suspension. The things that he learned from it. All part of his growth. And I mean, listen he gets to hang out with jaylo to like very few things will make you more popular than being next to J lo who in the world of sports like lest we forget in our own little bubble would a big deal. Alex rodriguez. He is third fiddle in his family. The first two spots are occupied by Jennifer Lopez. Now, Alex Rodriguez also said, of course, I want Rogers and bonds to get in played a little coy. There was Stephen A. But said, of course, I want the beginning. Because that would mean I have an opportunity to get in one day. Look, I pray every day. I get a chance to get in the hall of fame is the ultimate place and said when you think about Roger and berry if you stop their career at thirty three or thirty four they were both first ballot..

"Let's see what else. Oh Naomi Osaka. Petra Kavita headed for the million open women's final. We've got a bunch of of smaller smaller not humongous stories over the last twenty four hours in sports. And that also includes the hall of famers headed to Cooperstown holding a joint press conference and getting introduced officially altogether in Manhattan on Wednesday to just need to see their smiles, and they deserve all of this attention for some of them. It took a lot longer. Right. So for Mike new sina, not a first ballot guy. Edgar martinez. It was this last time on the ballot. Not everybody. Can be Mariano Rivera though. He is the perfect ambassador to become the first ever with a unanimous induction into the baseball hall of fame. I remember coming from a small fishing village called Puerto Mito. This be here. Speaking about holding theme is something that. My mind can comprehend. Every now, and then it's amazing as human beings to look back and see how far we've come see. How far we've traveled to recognize that the efforts of blood sweat, the tears the valleys, we're talking about peaks and valleys, and he certainly on a peak right now that the valleys were worth it. And they brought you to where you are today. And so I love that perspective from MO from Mariano Rivera six hundred twenty-five career saves over nineteen seasons. All with the and what a celebration it will be when he lands in Cooperstown. Now, another former Yankees pitcher as well. As a former Orioles pitcher Mike hasn't decided yet, which hat he will wear into Cooperstown. And maybe he'll do some kind of a funky hat with both the Orioles and Yankees colors. But he also reflects his with a little more humor on Wednesday. I'm really surprised that I'm even here this year caught me off guard quite a bit. But everybody's support from from the first year. And I want to say thank you to the twenty percent that voted for me the first year. That kept me on the ballot. So I could work my way up slowly. That's awesome. Good for you. And who cares? Your first choice. Second choice. Third choice choice. You're a hall of Famer now nobody can take that away and mad. Edgar martinez. The Mariners longtime slugger who had last chances right here. This was it and just four years ago only had twenty seven percent of the ballot and now up over seventy five percent to get in. And I feel like his induction is my favorite. He. Yes. It's completely different than Rivera and Rivera will be so celebrated, but as I just said with Messina who cares? How long it took you who cares? Whether or not it. It was a waiting process that made you sweat for a decade. Your in Edgar you're in. This is a great honor the ultimate honour baseball player would play the game and the win every year. And but at the end. A lot of work. This is the highest honor anything worth having is worth sacrificing for. And he certainly made a lot of sacrifices for it as do all professional athletes who become among the best at their craft. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. We shared this yesterday. We you haven't seen the video of Edgar. When he receives the phone call about the hall of fame. It's really cool. There's almost a delayed reaction, but the smile on his face is dazzling. In Manhattan as well. With the hall of famers, the family of ROY halladay. So brandy his wife and their two sons. No doubt still miss ROY every single day. And while this is an amazing honor for him. Certainly it highlights and brings back to the forefront everything that they've lost not that they forget. But. You have to answer questions, and you talk about him, and you're kind of torn in half when you're talking about someone that you love who's already gone, but I appreciate her so much. She's shown incredible strength. She's indicated that ROY will not wear one particular hat, so he won't wear either. A Blue Jays hat or a Phillies hat into the hall of fame. I think it sounds like they're going to do a blank cat and just leave it without a logo. And she explained it by saying that it's not the Blue Jays hall of fame or the Phillies hall of fame. It's the baseball hall of fame. Roy was a baseball player, and he would want it this way. Tell.

"Changed his mind. Like who doesn't vote for Mariano Rivera who does it vote for Ken Griffey junior? Make them wait a year one guy that wants to be called get tougher. I didn't vote for him because I don't think. Well, Mike Schmidt. My brain's not quite right. He was okay. Mike schmidt. Fantastic. Thank you may. You may have I may have you may have not predated pre Mike Schmidt may have predated. You know, I saw plenty of good. My real great years from about what seventy five he probably really started having great years what seventy five seventy four seventy guessing about even by the time. I was a young baseball fan in the eighties. Mike Schmidt was Mike Schmidt was like God light stuttered basement is. Unbelievable. All right. Adam Schefter is ready to go. He joins us son ESPN without ESPN. Chicago dot com is with Carmen in Europe will make sure you follow them on Twitter. He is at Adam Schefter. And if you've got ideas on the phones about fixing overtime, sit tight we'll get to those. This is gonna last like two more weeks. I've got him. What's your plan for fixing overtime? Why no plan for fixing over time? I'm Morrison the NFL's plan for fixing over time. And again, I was of the mind that it's not really fair and equitable that a team could win the toss. And basically not have to give the ball back as the patriots did. But you know, what just compare and contrast that to the game earlier in the day and in that game. The saints won the toss and they got the ball and the Rams defense forced an interception. And when I was of the mind that teams should at least get the opportunity to touch the football. We had a healthy debate on NFL live on ESPN on Monday. And Ryan Clark made a great point about the fact, and it was backed up by other people. You don't like it. Then have your defense. Stop deposing. We're not asking you to not allow them not to score. Because essentially you kick a field goal. But you we are actually that depends not to allow a touchdown. And in this particular case, it's a team sport and defensive. Part of the team and the team especially teams are now again in the postseason. It doesn't seem right to me. I think what I would prefer me personally NFL is not ask my opinion, a ten minute overtime. Yeah. Just played right. Not sudden death but just play the period outright. Ten minutes, twelve minutes number twelve minutes. Okay. I don't think I'd mind that any any thought that they should in the playoffs flat out reward the team that had home field advantage in say you get the ball. I know you got hope you'll advantage. That's enough. No, I don't I don't agree with that. Okay. And then don't make some kind of Pro Bowl gimmicky winning Pro Bowl team. No, that's silly. How about this? Maybe they should just play seven on seven. Let's really get crazy. Take all the in. What do you guys think? You're what do you think? Roles. Absolutely perfect the way they are. The way you're paying a shared by people played the game by and large. I'm just telling you wouldn't mind your idea. I said that on Monday to if you were to tell me in the playoffs. You just get a play an extra period. I'd be good with that. Now, you you do run into. Well, what happens if it's tied again, then you're going into a sixth quarter of football. And it's dangerous in guys. I mean, that's a very good point mate. What if and again, I'm I'm making this up. Okay. Again, what if you play? Wildcard round the lake game Sunday and bears and eagles all of a sudden go to overtime and the bears pulled out and the bears have to be in LA for shattered a game. Now six days just played an extra twelve fifteen minutes. Maybe double overtime, right? Coach fair. That's there's the rub in that. Like, I like the idea on the service of just playing out an extra period. But there is the problem with that potentially now. So we get back to your point where it's a team sport. Yes. It is. And and if you want the ball back again the defense you give up a field goal. Don't give up and I have very little sympathy for the chiefs. I mean, look at the patriots went seventy five yards down their throat three third tens. I mean, it's hard to feel bad for the chiefs. I would've. And I think there was so much overtime, right? No. No, no, the size was at the end of the fourth quarter. Yeah. Okay. Okay. But by the way, there's no aside the chiefs win that game. That's right. Yeah. Because that would have been the pick off. Yes. That is correct. That was on that last Dr one hundred percent credit, and that's what like we're debating over time. And we're talking about the controversy for the first game. Whereas listen, let me say this for the record. You don't need to hear from me. Everybody who watched the game knows. It was the most egregious miscall. We've ever seen in the postseason saying that and follow me here. The saints. Get the ball after a long completion to take in I down. I think it was at the twenty yard line. The Rams twenty maybe twenty two right? Okay. Firsthand. I and I think he's a minute fifty three left. The Rams have one time out through the ball. Firsthand. They throw the ball and Michael Thomas, and I said to myself, what are you doing? A good throw in that. That's not an issue though. Hold on. Point is is a chance of an incompletion. Yeah. Here's the point. If you run the football three straight place and the Rams used their one time out. You're going to bring will watch on your kicker, reliable at home. Good kicker to try roughly a forty yard field goal to win the game. And if he makes it the Rams are going to get back to ball with about twenty seconds and no timeouts. True games over. Yep. Does the NFL have any interest in possibly tweaking the rules about overtime? Overtime. The over time. That's what I'm asking. I I'm Jami. We're going to get to here. Okay. All right. So that's probably going to stay as it is even I would say, I would think it would. I'm not her any groundswell. Boy, we gotta get this changed. Will. They definitely address what happened at the man and the non call, and if coaches should be allowed to challenge or a booth review should be allowed in those circumstances. Well, first of all let me say that if you want to make pass interference challengeable. That would not change the circumstances of Sunday's game at all because there was no penalty. Call. There's not what are you challenging nothing. Trying to get to like is there a way to correct that. And do they have to address here? Here's where I am on that issue. And I don't know how you do it the people on the competition committee a much smarter than me. But I would just say this that a coach is given three challenges three challenges. He should be allowed to use those challenges. However, the heck he wants to use them. If you want to challenge a play like that. Hey that was passed. The appears I'm challenging that. He should be allowed to do that. To me, you get three if you're at a challenges and that play happens. Guess what that's on you? You decide the challenge that fourth in one spot of the ball. Okay. I I don't know how you do that. I don't know. How you introduce it into the rule book. I don't know what the languages, but to me a coach has three challenges and replays in place to make sure that we don't have any place the likes of which we saw Sunday that we're still talking about post-facto. So however, the competition can he wants to do that to me? Coach you got three challenges you can challenge. Whether the guy held a football spot of the ball. I down not a first down turnover turnover. Whatever it is. But if you're at a challenge that point you don't get the challenging somehow that should that play should be allowed to be challenged in my mind, it's bad import. But we haven't seen that happen. We'll see if they continue to discuss it. We'll see what comes of it. But nothing right now. Well last week we knew the bears were interested in Kareem hunt at some point now. Other teams are chiming in saying. Oh, yeah. If Fremont becomes available, and we ended up finding out what's going to happen with cream hunt. We'd certainly be interested. What teams are those whose out there that would be interested in agreement. Well, listen, you're you're talking about a guy who twenty three years old. Who led the league in rushing in his rookie year, and basically get exiled in the second year, and what he did was agreed and unforgivable and unconscionable. But in the world of football that doesn't change the fact that he's going to draw some interest. He's been in anger management classes regularly since the chiefs cut him, and you said to be making progress. So I just think you think of all the people that worked in Kansas City with Kareem hunt that part of that. I mean, they're they're dispersed around the league right there in Chicago there in Cleveland, and Indianapolis what are these Andy Reid disciples? It's not all of them. I would think would have interest in them. And that's just a starting point. Okay, there mainly more. What happens if I'm making this up? The Pittsburgh Steelers lose let me unveil cream months on the street. You know, what let's go on cream on. But one year deal loaded up with incentives. I mean that that's that's where this gets interesting. I can tell you that there are there are there are definitely teams interested what landing spots for Levy. I'm bell. And the other guy Donio Antonio Brown. Basically Lebanon Bill is in a situation where. I mean, the Pittsburgh Steelers could tag him. I don't think they will. I think it'd be free agency. Look at teams that need running backs that have cap room jets. Maybe the bills depending on what happens with Shawn McCoy dolphins. Maybe I don't know. I mean, those teams that makes him Cleveland. You know, also th there are a lot of teams that need running backs. So we'll see an Tonio Brown. That's gonna take the right fit. That's a little bit more challenging, and it sucks where. I don't know where he's gonna be traded. Not I can say is that it certainly seems like he's going to be traded. But I don't have a landing spot for your. I if I did I it would it would be on ESPN. I'll say that right now. In a few days, you'll be getting on a plane to go to Atlanta and cover. I don't know how many Super Bowls you've covered. But it's a lot of them when you're getting on that plane and you're going to see Tom Brady and Bill ballot. Check for a ninth time. What are you thinking about? Question. What am I thinking about? I guess I'm not thinking the way that you would think I'm thinking. I'm thinking. I'm really I mean that like I've I've gone to what does she was ninety four. So twenty four twenty six. Yeah. Almost many Tom Brady. You know to me I don't make sound like a player. I to me. It's a work trip. That's all it is. Yeah, it's just a work trip. I'm just thinking budgeting my time. How do I get over to see each the teams what not my coming up for Sunday? That's interesting that you put it that way at them. Because like, I wonder then kin do you think you are fully appreciating what you've seen in covered all these years with this guy? Or is it or are you doing? I guess selfishly. No. Because I'm I'm so. Tunnel vision in my own little work world. Right. That that your point is a good one that I guess I should be stepping back to think that, hey, you're watching the Vince Lombardi and Jim Brown of of your era. Right. And and sometimes I I guess I don't do that. I don't do that at all. Like, I am going with a narrow focus. So when you say, you know, what do you think I know some people that they go to the Super Bowl? And and all they're thinking about is going to go to a party, all we could care less. Right. Like somebody right. Somebody said throughout their any shows. I don't even know who's playing and and so it it's not even a thought my mind. Again. I'm just telling you that. That's what's on my. I'm not thinking boy, I'm gonna go. See this great match. What do I have to get done? That's all I'm thinking. It's interesting. I we'll talk more next week from Atlanta. Thanks as always, thanks guys. Have a great week from the down south. That's Adam Schefter at Adam Schefter on Twitter covering. Yeah. Like, it's twenty fifth Super Bowl. That's that's a lot of them. And he's seen. He's been around a third of Brady. Invalid check..

"Yeah. So he made it a folk song Hendrix made it a blues e rocks. Wow. Okay. We had some weird weather this morning. Dave, I know you don't get up till nine or ten, but Kathy, and I get what might drop my headphones. I didn't hear what you said. You said kiss. Okay. So anyway, nine you get up late and we get up early. And and I I was no I mean, you get up at an insanely early time. I'm up six fifteen me. Most normal Americans are six fifteen year up at what four thirty most people don't get up at four thirty four and I'm up at five. Okay. Thirty minute increments. The three of us the the canceled school like really early this morning, five forty five schools were cancelled. And so they can school at the drop of they really do. Cherry creek schools in Douglas county to and there is no snow. By eight forty five. The sun was out. We're like, wow. A bet you feel kind of foolish now. Right. You canceled school in Aurora. Cherry creek, Douglas county Douglas county, it had some some snow issues and wind issues, especially in the southern part of the county. But for cherry creek and Aurora come on. Yeah. A little early to cancel. A little weak little week. Yeah. But the kids had a great day. I went home and saw eastern and he was a hat. Mom. They cancelled school today. Kids are gonna love. I'm sure all over his face. The hall of fame baseball hall of fame today. They announced that Mariano Rivera ROY halladay who we've mentioned earlier or about a west kid. Edgar Martinez and Mike new sina elected to the hall of fame. Those are for that are going in Mariano Rivera became the first ever player to get one hundred percent of the vote never happened before. Ken Griffey junior at the record of ninety nine point three two percent. Tell you what he he was the dominant closer for a long long time. I mean, you you just knew if if the Yankees got the lead and he came in the game nine, oh, I know in the World Series. You know, had a blip on the screen, but for for the overwhelming majority time with the had the lead, and he came in games over the the four will join Lee Smith and Harold Baines who were chosen by a hall of fame veterans committee. So those six will go in. Now, you might be wondering about former Rockies Larry Walker and Todd Helton they're not going in. Larry Walker got. Fifty four point six percent of the vote. This is his tenth and final year on the ballot. And so go to veterans veterans. He goes at all. I think he's got a shot there. Eventually I do. Sure. A lot of people that hold. A couple of things against war. I mean, if you look at his skill set and being a five tool player that we've seen very few guys in this town in in other major league baseball cities that had that kind of talent, right? Could hit for power could hit for average could steal bases. If he wanted to had a great ability to run down line drives could throw the ball. But he just was a really talented guy. He had trouble staying healthy enough to stay on the field. And I think I think those who vote for the hall of fame, I think they hold that against him. And the fact that he played part of his career here in Colorado too. Yeah. That seems to hurt because Todd Helton only got sixteen point five percent of the vote and Edgar Martinez who got in played at the king dome, which was a launching pad. His his career stats are less than help his. His career batting average was less. His career home runs was less his career hits less than helton's. And he was a D H. Where Helton played first base had three Gold Gloves. So for some reason Edgar Martinez gets in and Todd Helton barely even gets a look. And so it's there's definitely a bias towards chorus field. There's also a bias. I think towards Denver. We're seeing this in the NFL hall of famous. Well, Denver is like a market on its own or in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the country has basically has its own time zone. It's bright, right. Its own time zone. And we are like a standalone market, and I think that does hurt all the players that play here in Denver, Colorado in every sport. It certainly has. And I I I was one that initially rejected the idea that there would be an east coast bias with respect to former Bronco players going into the football hall of fame. I I've changed my point of view on that. Because it has to be something when you when you go back, and you look and see some of the great players that really get talked about. But they get rejected. I I'm I'm Rick. I'm really anxious to see this year. If the Broncos kind of breakthrough in the in the pro football hall of fame like Steve atwater, John Lynch who didn't play a longtime here. But certainly played long enough. He was a pro bowler for four straight years that he played here. But at water in particular champ Bailey played the majority of his career here. I mean champ as a no brainer. I my hope is that Steve atwater. We'll get in as well. He's the second time finalist this year. And of course, Mr. Boland, I think I think Pat bones going to go in this July, which means to me the Broncos are going to be playing in the hall of fame. Don't know that for a fact, but that's that's my guess six fifteen and we'll check some traffic out with Joel Navarro. How.

"Anthony, thanks for a couple of minutes this morning. Oh, you bet. Most thank you. You got it in you know, as football in college football is in full flight. You know, major league baseball is having an interesting off season from what has been, you know, up until this states kind of a lack of of this impactful movement that maybe we expected kimbro the best closer on the market still out there Machado Harper both are still out there. Are you surprised that you know, that may be based on you know, I know last year there was a lot of movement early on. Are you surprised that there has not been great movement? So far here in this off season, sadly, moose, I'm not surprised because the season just seems to be getting later and later each year. I think that, you know, Red Sox GM, Dave Dombrowski, you know, sort of made some noises about this the winter meetings that maybe there needs to be some action on that. Because it just takes so long, and you know, the the season the off season the hot stove season never ends now. And you know, maybe there's a way I don't know. Maybe there's a trade. Deadline to put in there that might person movement on the free agent market. If you're not allowed to trade after a certain date or something like that until spring training. I don't know what the answer is. But I wish some of these guys would sign because it just you know, it lasts too long and drawn out. And you know, a little action would be better. No, I agree with you. I agree and it relieves the rapid speculation. Let let's start with Harper here with the with the move by the dodgers of trading away camping week to the Cincinnati Reds in the book clear on the deck of outfielders. Does that lead you to believe that that is is where Bryce Harper will eventually end up is in Los Angeles with the dodgers. I mean, he's got to be a big factor there. Right. You know? I mean, they they moved all those outfielders you said, and they created a bunch of payroll flexibility, you know, teams always wants to position themselves publicly that they are trying to get under the luxury tax, and they don't wanna pay the luxury tax penalties. It's really not that big of a deal. If you've reset your your parameters. On the luxury tax right now. I think the Red Sox paid twelve million dollars in these last year, which is not that for won the World Series. I think they've got that line around the office. So I'm always suspicious when these came to like, oh, yeah. We don't wanna do that. We don't wanna pay that. How about getting a big star into LA and Harper would be that guy. They have a need. They've come up short the last couple of years, and what they've done certainly opens the possibility of him going LA, which would be I think a great city. It would be a fascinating story line to follow throughout that contract. Yeah. Do you think I was just gonna ask you Anthony, you think that works in Los Angeles? Do you think Harper's a dodger works? I think. So I mean, certainly on the field. It does you know? And he does have the star presence. You know? And I think that that would sell their, you know, I don't know if that would get people to arrive at the game on time and stay for all nine innings. Most that seems to be a plague in LA. Yes. You know for the dodger fans, but you know, low fired the beach right there. I don't know if I'd be showing up early to dodger games either fair. I do think that that Harper would be a jolt to that team. You know, they two straight years in the World Series two straight disappointment. You know, maybe it's time that you need something you need to push a little bit. And maybe, you know, the GM or you know, or the baseball boss there Andrew Friedman, doesn't doesn't usually sign monster guys to monster contract. So there that's working against it. But you know, I love the idea. Let's get to Machado here reports over the last forty eight hours is that he's not going to be making a decision till after the new year. We know the three teams that are the finalist. You look at Chicago the Philadelphia Phillies in the Yankees. I if it comes down to it, Anthony, he's willing to take say significant. I mean, if you talk any they over twenty million dollars, that's a significant amount of money. You think you'd be willing to take significantly less money side with the Yankees. I mean, does anybody does anybody ever take that much less? That's the thing that you know, if. It's ten million. The difference is ten million. Then I'm like. Oh, okay. Yeah. Being in the pinstripes is is meaningful. And you can put that money aside when you're going to get three hundred or two hundred and eighty million or whatever it's going to end up being Manny Machado. But if it's twenty thirty forty million dollars, you know, I mean, the Yankees are certainly putting out signals that they want to hold the line and not be the high bitter. But they, you know, take Manny on the roster. And you know, if you're a twenty six year old superstar player, you know, can your ego sort of accept that as an idea that you don't go to the highest bidder and your sacrifice an incredible amount of money. You know, so I that remains to be seen for me. He he is a great fit there in the Bronx though, obviously he could play shortstop until db for various whenever comes back whenever that is. We don't know. And if the Yankees are putting out the word that BB will should play a lot of the season. I don't think we know that for sure yes. And then you slide them over to third. And you figure out what to do with with the fabulous rookie gallon. Do. On what's going to happen to this guy if they sign this guy that stuff worked itself out? It'd be traded for a pitcher is he your new first baseman is your new leftfielder Miguel and do harm if he remains intense. Righteous gonna get at sell find a way to do it. How you know God. Oh, I was gonna say I do hear that. The White Sox are serious. And I know a lot of people have stopped at their candidacy here with both Manny and Bryce Harper, but they are trying to be aggressive. I'm told and we'll see where that ends up. But it's an interesting question that there's sort of this, you know, non-contenders wildcard here. It's fast. I know Ron store is eighty two got money to spend here. I have a hard time though, thinking that they're going to either one of those guys are going to end up in a white sock. Uniform. You know with with Philadelphia offered in the dodgers and the Yankees, don't you Anthony when push comes to shove? Yes. Absolutely. You'd better be great salesman in Chicago. And you've gotta convince one of those guys to get him that you're young players are the real deal, all the prospects. We hear about about how the white boxes Stockton overflowing with young talent that you'd better be able to sell those guys and their agents, frankly on the idea that those guys will will be arriving maybe not next season. But the season after let's get to the great Bill Balu from the Worcester telegram who wrote a column over the weekend that infuriated a lot of baseball fans Yankee fans Mariano Rivera fans that he's not going to cast a ballot this year for the hall of fame and gave his rationalization for doing. So in essence, not gonna vote for Mariano Rivera and minimizing you know, his six hundred fifty two career saves in the regular season. I mean, I look at an empty. I you know, I thought it's a logical that that people that that individual doesn't deserve one hundred percent of the. Vote. Now, I'm going to get this nonsense. And I'm supposed to be built pollution voted for the baseball hall of fame. Then. Well, you know, I mean for let me just say moose that that you know, it's an election. So you're always gonna get some you know with with four hundred five hundred or so voters. So you're always gonna get a wide spectrum. This is an interesting and different take on the whole thing. I don't particularly agree with him. I I am a hall of fame voter I will be voting for Mariana Rivera. I'm not getting away a state secret by saying that publicly I watched the guy through his entire career. And he was a spectacular player. I thought he was a hall of Famer every time he took the ball when he came into a game. You know that said I think we all concentrate a little too much on whether a guy is going to be unanimous or not. Bill balut it and say that he doesn't belong in the hall of fame. He just use this again attention for his take on the closer as a role. I don't agree with that. Because closers are a fact of life in baseball. They are job handed out. Now guys who do the job with the level of excellence that Mariano did deserve to be in the hall of fame. And you know, I get it those entitled to opinion, certainly, and I you know, I saw him tweet today that he's gotten hundreds of emails and he's going to try to get to answering them after the Christmas holiday. I mean, I'm sure by then it's going to be thousands of emails because they're if you certainly created some outrage. Yeah. But. Do we really need to over think? It. I mean, that's where I mean, if you're not gonna vote for more I get that looks at. But if you're not gonna vote for Rivera than who the hell are you gonna vote for? Well, that's a fair point most. And I agree with you there at least he didn't disrupt the process to the point where he turned into blank ballot because that would be a no vote for Barra. And so, you know, I'll give him credit for for for abstaining and not. Grabbing Rivera of the chance to be unanimous. I don't think you'll be unanimous. I can't explain the reasons why a guy like that won't be unanimous because I don't agree with that. But it's not that big of a deal like he's gonna get ninety nine know. I was in the grand scheme of things. It's not that big of a deal. There are bigger issues in the world. Right. I and I understand but we've got about a minute to play. But does it. I mean at the a hall of fame voter, you are does it bother you that somebody that a hall of fame voter is doing a troll job like this just to garner. Attention. I mean, I don't think this is as bad as when the guy sold his hall of fame vote. Title opinion, boost that, you know, I get it. I mean, I get it that there's that there's outrage, but you know, I mean, I'm sure that there are some voters who are unhappy that you know, that I haven't voted for Fred McGriff until this year, or you know, that I got it. Yeah. I mean at the I got ten seconds Magritte's is debatable. I mean there guys did the bay, and you can make the argument if you have to have a twenty minute debate about a guy you shouldn't be in the hall of fame to begin with. But. MLB -- Lance Lynn saved New York Yankees from themselves

"To shore Aureus Lance, Lynn, seven third to hit, ball nine strikeout to first start as a Yankee has for the offense of support Yes now working with the calls Yankees seven nothing shut out of the, White Sox Yankees snapping their season I. Five game losing streak with their first win here in the month of August Lance Lynn through most of the work fifth Yankees pitcher since nineteen, ninety with seven plus scoreless, innings, in, his. First start with the, teams of the Yankees win Red Sox idle Mondays New York back within nine What about the division over the next couple, of months given what we saw this. Weekend the guy's a PTI what we knew going in you know even if it had been a split and certainly at three one the Yankees, should have won last night The Red, Sox are. A lot better the Yankees particularly without without judge Sanchez we knew. That that's more than a run a game yeah that's a big deal so. We knew. That so this doesn't confirm that the Yankees aren't good? They're not gonna says not nineteen, seventy eight the not gonna do a dance and. Catch the, Boston Red Sox 'cause there's nobody deaths not walking through that door, disagree with any of that I don't What I would point out is this was in Fenway and. Things change if it goes to Yankee Stadium there are more games to be played between these two teams yeah I. Think right. Now the Red Sox are demonstrably better they, won the four and they didn't have Chris? Sale, I think. Two things should be point daddy volley came over from, ten to, two starts, he's been terrific he through against the in. The Yankee start I believe he went. Eight innings and gave up three hits. So he's, a Yankee killer because you're. Not sure that sale and you not sure that price. Are, if evolving is that's. Great and the other. Working in the play chase chaplain Chapman is eight. And six since familiarity yes relief, pitchers does. It hurt the greatest relief pitcher of all time Mariano Rivera more. Blown save more blown saves against the Red Sox then the other team have. More chances I believe I'm right, on this, is eight, and six and two seasons against the Red. Sox closer can't be as many decision Getting. To him having to win later he comes in very good science for the rest again they're. All good sized sorta Red Sox Come back and be a witness really really really really. Mattered when you had sixteen teams and the and the winner of the league was the. Only one series that's not the case anymore that's a Red Sox is still. Gotta get perhaps through, the Yankees perhaps through the Astros and. I know they're like eight and a half games ahead of the. Astros now perhaps through Cleveland they might not be. Able, to beat there's a lot of baseball And a nine game. Separation between the top two teams in the American League as sportscenter allnight ESPN. Radio AL eastern nine, games peration in the AL central Cleveland's. Got a double digit lead Strike three com fastball Yeah that's just one of those three like What are you looking at Our in all.
