You fuck you just all waiting for you like you could just see them sweating. That would always happen at belly up where we would have the sound guy. Just run over and try to fix something like wall. "Heard a Tapping. You know sound and then I looked across the street and guess what was actually out there. The freaking coyote was a set of three woodpeckers all doing their job that they're known for off the streets. They were all so nice to see them. They were on the same pole, the pole right across the street, there was a they were at different heights. It was like they were truly wild. That's what I thought. I was really thought of them as solo creatures. It was as if they divided it up. They were like, okay. It did feel like a very like calling shotgun situation where one of them was like, I got the middle, and anyway, I live I love sort of near the mountains now and it's just wanted to share with you that I saw. Three woodside one follow-up question. Yeah. Do you think it was just like casual or is there a chance you think they were trying to take down the poll? A lot of that. It's just so rare. Sent by the electricity company. You think that you think they're on the floor? Okay. Actually, you know what? That makes a lot of sense, especially like you know, California, fire season, like you got to keep your polls really safe. I don't know. This is going to something within your sense there. But anyway. Yeah. Yeah, I think we can all just go there, individually and art in our fantasy worlds. I just wanted to share that. Thank you both. So I always have I always have guests introduce themselves. We both introduce yourselves. Yeah, are we rolling? All right. Yeah, I think the woodpecker store is gonna stay cool. Yes. That's gonna be part of it. Okay, good. So intro woodpeckers next scene is I am Marion. That's right, it runs that's how podcasts go. They go in scenes. This is a storyboard. I think you've betrayed your job. You gotta know what's coming next. Absolutely. Yeah, I'm Marian hill, also known as Marion sometimes, depending on the desk. I'm learning things. I'm based in New Orleans, I'm a filmmaker. I am a queer Vietnamese nonbinary woman. And I am happy to be here and meet you Cameron. I've been I saw you do stand up in LA like ten years ago, I think, oh gosh, really? That's awesome. And yeah, so yeah, good to be here. Hannah and I just finished a film. Well, we shot a film in 2019. Called mobil, my beauty. Which was our first time working together, and it was an awesome experience, very, that has a lot of meaning now, given where we are at in life in the globe. And yeah, we just went on we just did our New York and LA premieres and August and there are now kind of, you know, onto our next things. So, right, I feel like I got the initial screener for this like a minute ago. Is it that did I get it like before the premieres are like when? I think what I feel like I got into Sunday. So that would have been like, what marching? January. Oh, actually even before that December. November. God. Yeah. I think we have managers at the same place or something. Got it. Yes, we do. And because look, I mean, congrats to other people that they're getting a chance to see this film, but I've been, I've been seeing this film for almost a year. I've been really, I really. I feel like it's so nice to feel that there are any perks to the gig, you know? What a delight. Yeah. Thanks for framing that like you've been perpetually watching it. That's right. It's been. I don't turn it off. It's good. What do they call that? It's like ambient ambient. That's right. Television, just like let it sink in. Let it sink.

"In uncomfortable situations. Jesus would say this and luke fourteen. Suppose one of you wants to build a tower won't you i sit down and estimate the cost he goes on to say in likeness in the same way. Those of you who do not give up everything you have for me cannot be my disciple and i want you to looseness before unite can ever understand what it means that jesus would suffer for us. I'm gonna ask you this question. Are you willing to suffer for jesus because if you can't i don't think you really understand what he actually did for you on the cross marian hill. Mary new god uses people who are willing to pay the cost. What's going through your mind when you're talking about marian everything that she's going through like. I just had a baby eighteen months ago. And so like the fact of what she went through out of her comfort zone like as a young girl is just mind blowing. And i think back then. The tradition was like the women. Help women give birth. And she was by herself whether husband who probably didn't know how to help deliver a baby and like the fact that she's doing it and risking everything But also thinking about that is just amazing but when you said that that it changed her reputation and it put her maybe into friendships with people who also weren't loved like how much did have no her heart though to say you're strong enough to take this on and then be able to reach those people at the same time like you're still loved by god even though you've sent like she's been set up from the beginning just because of her love for the lord it's hard it's brings tears to my eyes because it's not something we would be thankful for but the impact she gets to have not just the world but just the people at her old life or the ones that others don't want to be friends with beautiful. That's beautiful god uses people who are willing to pay the cost. but here's the third and final. God uses people who wholeheartedly trust his promise. God uses people who wholeheartedly trust his promises. Look at verse thirty four. How would this be. Mary asked the angel since. I'm a virgin. The angel answered the holy spirit will come on you and the power of the most high will overshadow you so the holy one to be born in you will be called the son of god. Now watch this for. No promise from god will ever will ever fail..

It's me Matt lease and that is not the first bit of heart new brass that you would have seen or heard with your ears on this podcast. No, that's right. We have updated our theme which previously we like to describe as affordable BBC World Service. It's now sexy late night talk show. Yeah. We thought it would be funny to have a sort of ridiculously ninety s saxophone intro and stings. So we hope you like it. We like it was done by Steve, dammit, who is a saxophonist and band called Marian hill founded the show, and yeah, he's does his solo stuff when we asked him to do something that sounded like a ninety s talk show something slightly massing. Yes. Been barrasso. We've now got stings you can play with you can afford them later. But most importantly because this is by now a real fan of shut down who lives, I believe around Philadelphia. It means he can come with us two packs on plug this year. This is like more than. Fifty percent of the reason why would stay he can come with us to the two thousand nine hundred live packs on plugs, and he can play saxophone live on stage. Yeah. That's it's going to happen. That's going to be quite exciting. I can think of so many crap jokes. We can do it's going to be fabulous. If you're just joining in this. That's not how this works. This isn't radio. This is a podcast about board games. And boy, oh boy in this sort of New Year's fighting with a bang starting with the boards, and that's not a real bumper stock. I looked also nothing bump stock. Okay. Right. The list is as follows we're looking at blackout Hong Kong again, which we talked about a couple of years ago. But we've now now played it yet. What do you think of it? Matt say anything we're going to talk about it in. Okay. We're talking about just one party game that has better than it has any right to be. Yep. We're gonna be talking about Suma which is a game for the Nintendo switch. That's right in the ninetieth podcast. We've broken our rules to talk about video game. We're gonna be talking about quacks of Quedlinburg four syllable words that we now have to memorize, thanks. We'll gang wash. We'll be talking about Schimmel HMO, which I believe means cheating. Be that's a little card game about cheating and bees. We're gonna be talking about the thing. Goodness me. This is a long business talking about the thing. The board game of the things some of this stuff might get bumped. Do you think you might get bumped? I don't actually think. So I think some of it is middling. Okay. Okay. If we reserve the right to bump. Okay. Much like a set of any number of our weakest. So it's different. Yeah. We can we can do that. We're gonna be talking about pipeline a game of oil companies that make oil and the players who don't understand oil, but sometimes make money anyway time, I'm worried about this podcast already because I feel like are a real number of stone cold bangers on this list. It's okay. Because I'm going to end the podcast. I took my seven. Let's talk briefly about blackout Hong Kong Jill a game where a euro game by Alexander fister. Who I got very excited about go. A game about running an organization in Hong Kong after a power cut, and you have to keep the city running to keep medicine and food flow in you got to keep that food flow in math. And the reasons you were excited about it. You have every right to be excited about because actually the coolest mechanics and very of aggressive in very cool. The whole thing of having to send people out to scout and recon, but every time you do you'll lose somebody from your kind of groups gang, depending on what kind of unsavory types. You're hiring. Very interesting. We played a bunch when we were in Philadelphia. We laid it just me, and you play some other people and honest, I found that the more we played it. I it's a very competent puzzle. Missed the Pistole, but it doesn't have the same kind of thematic flare as great western trail. Yup. This is. Really more of a public service announcement I think 'cause I got so excited about it. And you played at once and also pretty hype. But yeah, it doesn't have the staying power of other economy management games that we recommend. And I've was thinking about why that is and for me usually with. I don't know thinking about your games played a lot recently, like the fabulous a feast for Odin and the thing with blackout Hong Kong was that. I would finish it and go. Yeah. I think I did pretty well. And then again, go. Yup. I showed it pretty well again. But I wasn't taking from one game into the next knowledge of what I did wrong or what I was excited to try. I kind of an every game of it. I just sort of did what made sense, I think exciting to tries the key thing for me that because I felt really it was very cool to have a euro game which had a different theme of having to stock up on survival aspects. Whether it's we're gonna get food water we're going to get fuel. But there wasn't really anything Matic feeling of difference between any of the different mechanics in the game. And I think generally, that's the thing is. Maybe you could make a really big gang of people. Maybe you could do this. But it didn't feel different unlike in great western trail, where it's like, maybe I'm gonna go and ride this train reform. We're going to get award-winning cows that fell if you haven't played great listen toil that does make the game sound completely and say does. But
