"Let's continue with today's newspapers. Joining me down the line is journalist and communications consultant slamming Brooke Simon Welcome back to the show. Good Morning. Good morning should. Tell us about Oracle. It appears to have beaten Microsoft for the crown of Tiktok. Yes absolutely. So dance, which is the owner of Tiktok has reached wants described as a technical partnership agreement with Oracle over over Tiktok US operations it's a paper reports. This is probably a minority stake, but he is a major move here. Obviously the big issue this is more than just a business story isn't it? Because it concerns U S, China relations and concerns about safety data and things the paper reports the Oracle will address consider security concerns. But girls set aside this shows how the has been the souring of US China relations The paper points out that Oracle which. Has Been Successful as we as upset, a Microsoft is actually run by Larry Ellison. WHO's one of the few supporters of president trump in silicon valley's a read into that what you will, but the paper goes onto explore what this means so far Chinese reaction has been quite restrained, but the pay points out that if China did to see, did try to seek some kind of revenge on the Americans full that that as I say that most strict view of Chinese operations and things, they could wreak some serious damage. On a major US companies, a fifth of Apple revenues for instance, come from China on the company hasn't big manufacturing base there as well. So Oracle is a the FDA explaining an enterprise software provider. It has cloud competing doesn't it It does find itself I mean congratulations oracle forgetting getting Tiktok in the US operations but there is this great problem isn't that the fact that there is this continued push back against the Chinese ownership of Tiktok and all that that involves? Yes. Exactly. In real concerns about safety and security as well. They're all concerns for instance that data used from Tiktok will go back to the Chinese government to the communist policy and the paper. So points out that we chat, which has also being banned uses is used by the Chinese government to spy on its own citizens and they're concerned that US us over we chat Might have their data referred back to the Chinese Communist. Party. So a real concerns about data this is obviously being an issue in the in in the West full the last few years who owns the data should we as individuals be giving it away what's happening to it but now concerns of woken up of being woken up about what happens with China's well using data, and certainly this will play into I'm sure the the US. Elections well, let's move onto the MOANS. There's a big summit between the European Union and China and starting today and the Mona exploring the the tone that France thinks it needs to strike when dealing with the Chinese. Yes. This is again a China versus the story. This one I'm really about human rights rather than technology. And as you say, there is this summit today should have been in person. But unfortunately, because you've corona virus, it is going to virtual. It's led by the German chancellor because they have the Germany has the rotating leadership of the EU of the six months also the European Commission chief Shivani Lion and the European Council. President Sean Michelle and yes the the mold is reporting a letter, an exchange between president macro and one of his. Former employees really tash shea who was elected for the Larrabee Republican Marsha. President. macron's of party in two thousand seventeen. But was one of those people who left this year and missy attache has been very concerned about the treatment of the week is the internment camp on the full sterilization on all the other human rights abuses here, and so he's written to the president. I'm asking him to lead with his European colleagues to really. Take more action here take a stronger stance on this human rights issue and in fact, he had replied saying that President Macron do so we'll do so with the greatest firmness. So again, interesting to see how the tone is changing here. Let's move to the Times an astonishing article about the the continued protests Belarus I mean the apparently the more than one hundred, thousand people. On the streets of Minsk and across the country, this weekend eight continued and sustained demonstration against President Alexander. Lukashenko. The focus is it's the women now who are leading the great movement towards trying to get rid of Lukashenko. Absolutely interesting angle here that the paper has picked up on this, you say of the hundred thousand protest is a loss have been women. The paper points out that reports that the march was part of a weekend in which women led demands for the release of Maria Coller, Snow Kolesnikova, the opposition leader following an attempt to expel her to Ukraine after she ripped papa spot and the paper goes on to say that in a sign that protested strategies a revolving, they worked to outmaneuver security voices and avoid arrests. Women are playing an increasingly significant role in trying to tackle the runt police and KGB agents that have tried to stop the demonstrations so. Obviously this is going to continue some time but quite encouraging really that it does look as if President Lukashenko is on the back foot here and really because of this this unusual and apparently very effective maneuver by the protesters. Finally, everybody is moving towards opening their doors in terms of arts and culture not least here in the united. Kingdom here in London and there's an article about an amazing theater down on the southbound bridge and it's in deter graphic talks about how it has managed to reopen its doors. Very, encouraging now, you're great son theater found MSA open carshield pleased to read this but the has been real concern here the problem of course with the fate or is it is literally the whole idea. The essence of it is people getting together isn't it which since lockdown we've been unable to do but yeah, I'm an optimistic pace head Nick Starr whose co-director Nick Hytner his colleague of the Bridge Theater next to Tower Bridge here in London I'm it was I the first a major commercial theater to open for eighty years when? It did seven, twenty seventeen. So I mentioned theatre owners managers around the world will be looking at this example and just to show how successful it's being The paper reports that fit to stalled audiences enough flocking to an ambitious substitute season of one person plays starting with David has a beat the devil starring Ray fine. So yeah, very tricky but it shows the the Knicks at the bridge theatre showing how it can be done. Simon Brooke. Thank you very much as ever for joining us on the globalist with monocle twenty fool. A little more complex. He kept you honest and from rock congrats to Luke keithly on early retirement. You're or a fearless player out there on the field so when you come in back a reference. No doubt to the questions gets constantly. He was a decorated career. We are player. Just one of two players to win defensive rookie of the year and defensive player of the year in back to back seasons along with the Great Lawrence Taylor. Keith led the the League and tackle since joining the NFL in two thousand twelve and made seven straight pro bowls to end his career. Clearly as I think he referenced. The video health likely an issue here still plays the game at a high level Dan. What's his legacy given that? He's stepping away at eight seasons. I believe at Twenty Hall of Fame Worthy and before star. Like it's tough to watch your honest with you as an ex player. It's tough to watch the emotion that he has Because Luke Luke keithly did not get to determine when he his career was over and so it's fighting back emotion myself just watching commotion. His career is hall of fame. Where the he'll be in the hall of fame? The greatest thing that Luke equally did was he always understood. I inform us when and his defense was called. What was the weakness of that defense? And then he was so smart to understand offensive coaches and players. Were going to figure out what the weakness was an attack you there and he was always ready for that and he was he would always let you think that you could and then he would hurt you for that he was. You know my generation or the back half of my generation of Bronner lacquer. He was that remarkable of a player that special player and I think the players comments his teammates comments and opponents comments comments touch on how special person who was I would agree so few get to go out on their own terms exactly the way they would script it this win though in particular because he's such a great he's a great guy off the field at great player on an clearly not not on his terms in this case well he ushered in kind of a new way but NFL because we talk about The offense is being so innovative. He was one of those first linebackers that guitar take a tie in the fall into the field That could cover. I see things like a secondary player and actually had let ability to move around. Not that a Lotta guys didn't have he he he Patrick Willis in San Francisco. Those guys has were were the one the linebackers you looked at like okay. This is a different animal. But I gotta give a little story real quick I'm a hunter and I was taller for three years working for network. And we all hope that with some guys Damian Lewis Mushtaq Muhammed and we all went hunting at this ranch and it was a a great time bunch of families there and everything and Luke was so gracious to my son now as NFL players. We kind of get used to that like we around players all the time you expect people to treat you know your kids like you know as cool you know your dad's hang out with you. He spent twenty minutes with my son. Just hoping and talk in and eaten and it was just one of those moments where you look back and you say okay I I get why this guy is like years revered like he is `bout guys that never played with him from the Carolina Panthers Organization to the guys that was on the scene so today as point it was tough to watch but it all it takes so much is to do what he did like. That's the thing that comes to my mind. said the same thing when Gronk did it. It takes so much goods to retire when you know you have football laugh off like and you make that decision based on how you WanNa live the rest of the alive. I just applaud him for that. But it's almost this personal connection because of how he treated the mortgage. Julia was amazing. Yeah when I think about Luke. I think about a player from the Times that I've covered the panthers when you're just looking at it from a sky view in the Press Fox and if you didn't even know who he was you're like bang. Who was that guy that just went from east to west? Because the way he covered. It is like Earl Thomas in the secondary who you call area two thousand nine. Because the way he can just cover space in the not only just Meet a ball carrier at the point of attack and just snuff it out because you know you're get an extra yards when luke is on the field so I appreciate his effort his physicality those are the things. That's why I called him. A Stud on time line because I think really just describes how he played and I think his teammates really appreciated it and just a couple too on what you were saying about how it takes guts to be able to retire higher. When you know that you still have football in you? I was talking to Gerald McCoy last night just about Luke and he said you know what what you're seeing with players that they are realizing realizing that there is life after football and you're trying to preserve your joy for the time after your profession is done even when you know that you still athletically it can contribute to the game and more players are starting to realize that even know it's not like I don't think it's a flood of players or what have you but the courage that it took talk like you mentioned to do that and also I think just from his perspective when you see the tears coming out of his eyes you realize how palpable it is. And that's I appreciate the flip side of that. which is his passion? I I really appreciate that when I seen because you can see. It's not it's not. He's not advocating it. It's real but it's totally real and because because a decision is the right decision. It doesn't mean it's an easy decision right. They don't always go hand in hand and he knows what he is. Preserving if you will has long term health but that doesn't make today a any easier candy you will be in the hall of fame. Well said all right. Meanwhile so we'll this guy to say the least Larry Fitzgerald he's back with the Arizona cardinals again. The Future Hall of Fame Wide Receiver signed a one year deal with the cardinals on Wednesday. He will play a seventeenth season. All with the only team he's ever played for and Fitz tweeted this out this morning. This season was among the most fun of my career. Future is so bright for this team and I relished just the opportunity to build with this talented young nucleus Arizona where I started and where I will finish twenty twenty. Let's get to work Listen He may be one of the lucky ones. He may be one of the few who get to go out on exactly their own terms. We certainly hope so. But what does it mean to have him back. Larry loves football. That's for sure. I think the first sign is that he thinks the world of Kylie Murray clearly into his words Larry Fitzgerald referencing polymers. That I've never seen anything like him. So He's obviously a fan and a believer in Carlisle. Murray and I do believe is words when he says this is a young talented team with AH bright future because the offense was getting better as the year went on this finished sixteenth ranked offense in the NFL. And if you look at what they could do in in this one year spin they got the pick in the draft and then they have the most money to spend further organization. So they're not as far off as people think if their defense get some pieces and plays better this offense in your to Akeem Butler getting healthy will only be better. And so it's a sign that Larry Fitzgerald believes in Cutler Murray believes in cliff Kingsbury believes that they can make a run at the playoffs next year. Fiscal Steel as simple as that like this is seventeen years of playing at a high level and is not listened to play in the NFL at a high level for seventeen years is like hitting hitting the lottery winners at a billion dollars The hits that fits is taking the ability to go across the middle of the field his entire career and make those those plays and just being a prolific receiver Since his college days like this was up for the heisman. That's how good he is. I think people forget that Larry Physio. Yeah because we're now we have a new crop of receivers and it's been like three knew exactly at that point alone like we we see new receivers and all of that fits is kind of not you know not really a public. Do not the flamboyant type receiver not saying anything wrong with that but he has been quietly putting together arguably one at a top ten careers ever in the NFL. Ever through like. Let me emphasize ever Larry. physial has put together one at a tab tap take arrears ever since the inception it is game. I think people need to understand that. So to your point about Maria coller take that as the biggest compliment in the world in the four because so many people think I'll am and look to. I gotta say this I was I was not in on Calum Murray. I thought it was very difficult for quarterbacks that were not of of stature to be consistent in this game that was just me and maybe I'm a relic but this year he put you proven wrong this year. Man I casse spirit. I call injuring call. Yeah I it him coming back one thing job but that tweet with where he so clearly energized by all this not only by Marie but it also seemed to stamp of approval for cliff. Kingsbury who again. I thought the of this kind of working weren't all that high surprised. I used it all that. He's all in on all of that. Well first of all he's Mr Arizona. Just a great guy. He's family is great grade. His Dad is brother. All of whom I've met these. He exudes that and he just lets that permeate through the team and I remember I covered their first practice when Kyle Murray joined the team team and it was the first time that Kyle was there with the whole team. And you could just feel the energy with cliff Kingsbury and Kyla Murray having joined the team. I remember cliff hat hat on his sunglasses. Had that I don't know where he's run but California. I felt whatever it was it felt like sun and the waves in the ocean around the facility. Because that's what I felt like. I felt so if I felt that I can imagine what he was feeling too. And then just to speak about how you now feel bought in on Kyle Murray. So you know that He. He is absorbing that too because I remember just watching Columbine that I practice and I think we talked about it over there we did. NFL Live and I was impersonating column or the first time we went to the line of scrimmage and he just kind of stood with his well maybe I'll do it. He was just stood there in this way where you're dislike man he. This is his first day on the job and he was just commanding space. I just feel like I know why he is saying that because from day one I saw it I know he saw it and I feel like he's showed it in certain wins during the season. Where even though they didn't have the record like it wasn't like a five hundred or above but there were certain games this season? Were they really competed where to dance. Point you're like okay. MAYBE THEY'RE GONNA couple like three or four.

"Was considered you know new and different ahead to prove itself so you had all these different ours like really trying to push the some of the stuff now al Noga some cool bars stuff now. I'm listening no hang on this setting. I will say there's some of it. You have to be in a club or something like that to get it. You know what I mean man. It was not white around. It's not around in your car with us not paint at the half time game last weekend. I was like Dan. He got over on US I'm going to say Oh. I'm just saying some like like if you listen to late nipsy hustle some of his stuff message and you like yeah I get that I like Kendrick. Lamar does the storytelling absolutely but I see to me is more of the underground there I was talking about. He's not routinely in the top ten like like like the Canadian as like to call. 'em Go give me one apple. Eleven's the eight o'clock hour. I'll teach more people about rap Carolina the Carolina Panthers travelling to to Arizona this weekend and lot of questions about Cam Newton's availability dealing with foot issue and Ron Rivera the coach of the panthers. He's had had enough of the questions about Cam Newton as we've seen in his latest press conference. I'm not GonNa talk about it anymore. Guy's though I mean let's talk about Arizona. I mean I haven't really talked about Arizona. You know so it'd be good to answer those kind of questions. Can though I know it's about Cam I did. That's the you know that we I don't know anymore until tomorrow so let's just let's talk about Arizona if not there's no reason for me to stand here before the opener one hundred person company. WHO's GONNA be ready to go. Where are you going to that level now. I just ask you questions about some kind. I told you know anything until the Marlboro. I like the Godly at the end. He said it's such a good man. Always pestering people we meet. The man said he didn't WanNa talk about it but there you go sitting up on one. Do go ask him. He said I wanNA talk another like didn't you hear him. Turn down to one person why continue to antagonize the individuals not tagging nizing individual individual cod style job is to run the football team okay. Our job is to ask you questions about how you're running your football team he's talking about. Somebody else like it's not starting quarterback on his knees. Cam Newton going to be on the field or not. That's not trivial. That's actually a pretty the big question you'd have fell into the report states to because you're becoming aggressive for me now. I know it's seriously like don't ask the question. Do you get an the answer that you don't want so you're gonNA continue at. He's not going to reveal what's going on with his quarterback because he doesn't want anyone to know he's. GonNa probably roll out call Allen and if he doesn't doesn't Rollout Allen then it'll be Cam Newton Cam Newton. It'll be the third guy he doesn't WanNa. Tell you get the message. It's not our job to get the message. Our job is to ask just a question. Is Your job to decide what message you want to put out there. Don't get mad at US order to say that. Oh dude been hurt for you. GotTa figure out how to give even non-answer in a way that shuts it down. Give the right non answer the you know. I'm not gonNA talk about it. That's just egging people on in that because it's probably already told told them once before a not talking about it he probably told him. I don't know if his presser was before practice after practice be probably told him on his way walking to practice because you know when you walk in practice these fools always running on the side. Take I just WANNA. Ask you go into gate. Is it going to happen. Is they're not gonNA. I'm not telling you anything but the great thing about at this an interesting sideline this Fella's erosion Chris is you didn't know the cow. Allen is from Arizona. He's going back to Arizona but guess two we played with in lost his position to column that was easy to the quarterback in the other quarterback is Kinda. Maria coller Allen. He lost it today with am together and that is true. That's what happened to have a question for you. McCowan play we Kinda Murray as freshmen at University of Texas in a both so bit of game heaven. Some Lynn couldn't get his act together on which quarterback he wanted in. Both of them said you know what we're out. I grew up thinking the phrase was Godly Godly. MHM apparently when you read the story is Golly G. O. L. L. Y. I thought he was G. A W D L E E but I never say God Li. I never say Ali. No you will never be a good. Li like would never on the other hand would say Guy League. Would you hallway what Iran actually say nothing Amiss quarter him. I think he more Bravo he said godly. I don't think he'd say Golly Lenny wanted to say say damn on probably wanting to say more than Golly I mean he you can see. He's just frustrated. I mean he knows to like if I don't have it. I don't have Cam Newton as much as Cam. Newton's been struggling as much as he's had these physical issues what I can do on the field drops that much more a lot of people feel like This Allen is pretty good that everybody everybody likes him. They think he he's an NFL quarterback. They've been waiting to see him play now. He's not the air parent right now to Camden because camps are going anywhere but at the same time I think a lot of people anticipating seeing him on the field. If in fact he is the guy that takes the field against the Arizona cardinals I will I will also say this that what is true uh-huh he was repeatedly asked the same question over and over again when when you read the full story he does give you enough information that somewhere answers the question it reminds me like the Sean mcvay Todd Gurley which only time Todd Gurley question. It was never the fourth truth but it was enough to your point. Andy of an answer to satisfy helix now is correct. The germ spreaders were out of line. They should have let it go when they had the opportunity. Opportunities Steve in La Habra C. Two tomorrow good morning guys. How long have you hey. Hey what's up stevie much time of year. Kid It was like baby bear's not too hot not too cold. Just right you know the weather. It's awesome but the question I have for you. You think Campbell put Andrew Luck what I mean by that is he's been hurt the last few years. You can't seem to get right. He's not really on a super bowl winning team. He's getting beat up and he's made a ton of money you. Maybe he'll just walk away no I. I don't think so I think he'll get healthy. his foot is obviously bothering him. I think it was a mistake to play him in preseason which was ridiculous. You don't play guys like like that in the preseason. Sean McVeigh has shown you at times other coaches around the League has shown that you don't play your topnotch stars. You played him after off-season surgery he he goes out there. He hurt his ankle. Then he reinjured his ankle. Now you're faced with not having him play in a game that you so need to stay in contention in the playoffs golf. He just needs to get healthy in he'll be back because why would you now play football if that's what you love to do and he loves to do it the secretly doing a morning show on some other radio station. We explore the answer coming up next on the morning show. This is your singing but who was before usher on the list Goff Tillis rundown wail. I knew you were going to say that but then I thought no. "We'll give you your NBA playoff hoops, fix as we'll get to what's going on with the warriors and the clippers and also the nuggets and the Spurs. We will also chat about the very disturbing audio than I did hear on Thursday with tyreek hill and his fiancee as it regards to their son who has a broken arm and the developments in that story. But we do have to start the show off with. This the NFL draft and first round comes and goes. Yes, of course, there are some prizes along the way. There was some trade. There are some things where your jaw literally dropped in. Use could not believe what you were seeing. But we're going to start things off with is the most important position not only in football. But really the most important position in all sports. That's the quarterback position. No, drew lock in round one. No will Greer in round. One lock a little bit surprising to me will Greer not so much the three quarterbacks that did go in the first round. And they were expected to go in the first round. The question was where you get to see another one fall that was Kyla Murray. Number one overall to the cardinals shockingly, Daniel Jones, number six the New York football giants. We'll get to that in just a second. And then you heard all the last few days tenure Snyder's taking control of the war room. He's taking control of the. Raft board. And when I heard that I started to laugh, I started to say, wow, typical Washington Redskins and all he's actively pursuing Dwayne Haskins. He's going to have to move up to get him. And one of the Redskins though, they let other teams pass up undoing Haskins. They sit there had fifteen. They get doing Haskins, and they also get Montas what? Not a bad night for the Washington Redskins two players that depending on what mock jazzy read could have gone in the top ten. They get them in the first round from picks fifteen and on. So how about that one Tyler Murray going number one? I can't sit here and say I'm shocked, however for me personally. And yes, I totally understand that everyone was having him going number one all over the place for me, though, when you have a general manager, and Steve Khan who already fired the coach a year ago, they bring in a new coach in cliff Kingsbury for you to move on from the head coach Steve Wilks. And then you drafted a quarterback last year. Josh Rosen at number ten and a lot of people believe Josh Rosen can be a good quarterback. However, it was tough to valuate in last year when he was operating under a horrible situation. I was with a lot of needs football team. I was still saying even though I see. Everyone's saying Columbarian, it's probably going to be collar Murray. I was not going to believe it was some of the other very good defensive players available like quitting Williams and a Nick Bosa. I was not going to believe calamari was going to be the number one overall pick until it happened. And what a story this is Heisman Trophy winner. Top ten pick and baseball lex to ditch the baseball career. Even though Scott Boras told you he wasn't going to and I think personally from a fan standpoint entertainment standpoint, I would much rather see him play football than baseball. Even though baseball may be the better decision for him from a health standpoint this kid they'll follow but this heart, and he did better himself three months ago was not a lock he was going to be the number one overall pick in the draft. Then this audio emerges of cliff Kingsbury saying that if he had the number one overall pick back when he was the coach at Texas tacky would use it on Cuyler Maria Coller, Mary elected to go out and. Go to the in the NFL and test those waters and the next thing, you know, cliff king Kingsbury who got fired finds his way to the head. Coach of Arizona goes from a college coach didn't have a lot of success to ending up being the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. And then he's in the position to get the number one overall pick and they elect to appease the coach, and they think that column is going to be really good player. Now, I think calmer is going to be a really good player too. However, we don't know what Josh Rosen is yet. I would not have moved on so quickly from him, but they elected to do. So so once again can't say I'm shocked. I was in fully believing it though until happened, and then it finally did happen. So now, we'll see where Josh Rosen does wind up the trade because I don't think you'll have both of those quarterbacks on the roster. When you get ready for the first football game at the cardinals will play in September. So maybe. You bring in to look at the roster. But after Rosen, whoever that other quarterback is whether you wanted to be a punching bag for a few games, or if you just go with Mary right away. We shall see. So that's Lamar then you get to Daniel Jones. Think about this or the giants real quickly last year. The giants had the number two pick. They take saquon Barkley tremendous player people. Call him a generational back. I'm not gonna kill the giants or taking saquon Barkley. However, there was a really good quarterback available. Someone who I thought was the best quarterback in the draft last year to me. Sam darnold was one. Baker Mayfield was number two. And we'll see how their careers do pan out. However last year by taking Barkley the giants told you they they believe it was the best player in the draft. However, if you're in need of a franchise quarterback, and you love a franchise quarterback you take the franchise quarterback. And for whatever the reasons were that Dave Gettleman did not like Sam darnold. It is what it is. He has to live with that. So if you would've told me when they made that selection of Barclay, and they let darnold Goto the jets that a year later, we would be here. And Daniel Jones would be the quarterback of the giants for the future. I would've never believed it. Now, I haven't seen a ton of Duke this year. I get it do killed my temple owls. Daniel jones. That eviscerated my temple secondary. And the ballgame. I totally get that this picked oh surprises me that with what they did passing up on darnold last year. And then this year now passing up on Dwayne Haskins who threw for fifty touchdowns last year in one season. Daniel Jones in three seasons at Duke through fifty two touchdown passes. You would like to see a little bit more of a separation for someone that played one season compared to someone that played three seasons and the touchdown department. And I get you heard the rumors because of the cut cliff connection with his closeness with the Manning's coaching paid in coaching ally and coaching Daniel Jones, and we all know how much the giants lovey lamenting as they showed. He's won them to Super Bowls. And he's going to be hall And you heard all the rumors here, and they're here and there on Daniel Jones Daniel Jones, I never thought the giants are taking gen Daniel Jones at six I did it. Now, I'm not gonna kill the giants. If they believe they did the scouting if they believe this guy is the next franchise quarterback. Yes. You could make the argument you could have waited until seventeen except you don't know if he would have been available seventeen heat most likely would have been I think he would have been. However, you'd think he's the guy you think he's you're next franchise hall of fame quarterback. Then you gotta take him at number six. And clearly the giants think that however me it's a head scratcher. Especially when Dwayne Haskins wanted to be a giant, and it appears Dwayne Haskins for much again college is a better quarterback. Now what you do in college. And how it translates to the pros is a totally different conversation. Now, if you're a giant fan and you want to Josh Allen the Kentucky pass rusher. I didn't think Josh Allen was going to be there at six he ends up going seven to the Jaguars. And notice how quickly the Jaguars ran up that pick to the podium. So if you're a giant fan, the take really when I look at this some of that doesn't have a dog in the fight is at all the speculation on who the quarterbacks could be Daniel Jones is the one that you really wind up with and I wouldn't trust. They've got him. I don't trust a gentleman. I don't. Take last year aside, they give del Beckham new contract, and then they trade, and in my opinion, they didn't get nearly enough back for a player of the caliber vote. Del beckham. So then you think they're gonna tank the year. They got to make a splash by getting golden Tate. I don't give a message of giant, sir. Sending and then you draft Daniel Jones. So you're thinking, okay. This is of ally. Manning, right? This is going to be like Manning's final year. Maybe put the full season Jones will sit back and watch hold a clipboard. Maybe Jones will get in the final quarter of the season. Dave Gettleman set on Thursday night after they made the pick. This is from Pat Leonard who covers the giants new York Daily News. Dave Gettleman said this doesn't mean ally. Manning in twenty twenty is out of the question. In fact, he said they could be the Green Bay model meeting. He may have taken a franchise QB at six to sit in for three years doesn't rule that out. The giants for years for a long time. Organizations would beg to have half the success. The giants hat that one of those gold standard operations then. And the Steelers are two that come off the mind right away for many years. History and history of NFL success and winning and championships. And look how much craziness has been with the Steelers. And look how much craziness recently have been with the New York football giants. And what the giants this all goes back to the decision to bench Eli manning and instead of going to Davis Webb who was an unknown who I didn't think was going to be the next franchise quarterback. But he wasn't unknown. They went to Gino Smith to everybody knows was the disaster. And that's what started this whole big stink. Because he didn't go to the unknown. You went to someone that everyone knew was already a bad quarterback. And then the fans in in disbelief. We're so annoyed that the organization led to Ben mcadoo's firing with the bunch of other stuff, and he liked men and going back to being the quarterback. Now the giants and this goes on Maron test. They are so afraid to move on from Eli manning. How many more victory tours? How many more final goodbyes is going to get and you have a fan base. That is annoyed that we don't know what Daniel Jones will be. And hey, it's the first time in New York sports fan didn't like a draft pick in the end up to be a great pick. But you can't tell the sport fan tonight. That hey, we got the quarterback of the future. You may not see him for three years. And I don't care what the stats and Eli manning last year. He was not a good quarterback. So the giants don't know how to move on. From manning, except they have the alternative and Daniel Jones. So when we see them play, I don't know. Now the giants. They also got Lawrence. They got the Andre Baker from constant. And then they got a de'andre Baker the cornerback from Georgia.

"Now, it's time for money planning point trae SS with Don Justin Baxter, Baxter and associates back stern associates time. Well, spent money well invested well, good morning and welcome to the money planning our special edition here. Justin baxter. I got Don. Baxter with me and our special guests today. Mayor Jeff long. Well, good morning. Jeff. Good morning. Great to be here. Good to see you. This is your second time on the money there. You're certainly no stranger to the studios here at Entercom. Cain assess and you're on the radio quite a bit, right? Mondays air was even Ted. Okay. I call in on a Maria Coller on a Kennedy, Bob and Jeff show the. Yeah. Absolutely. Well, we're happy drive the drive. That's right. We're happier here with us. Very nice of you to come on our show again. And and you know, I reached out. To you. Because I saw the state of the city address on YouTube. It showed up in my Wichita read it feed. How else are you getting that video out too? So we we have posted on our channel seven we run a regular on our peg channel. And and certainly through lots of different platforms on social media. We try and get it out there channel eight as ran it for us. I do monthly call in show. Call the mayor, and we started our call in show last month with the state of the city address. I think it's a much better format for sharing with the community about where we're at. Yeah. Yeah. We used to do much differently. We would do just version where we would invite the public end that could fit into the building and and and a reception and and have some snacks afterwards. I really think this is a a better way to get the message out to the masses. Yeah. Easy to share it. If you just Google Jeff long Longwell on YouTube. It comes up I think the first or second video it's about ten minutes. It's really neat to a lot of cool video shots of of different gathering spaces and in downtown throughout the city. And one of the first thing, you things you talk about the video is which tall has an entrepreneurial spirit absolute, and how you seen that sort of grow and evolve over the past few years, so we have a whole new structure set up right now with the greater Wichita partnership, that's focusing on that entrepreneurship than allows people to find. And some dollars that they normally wouldn't find some mentorships great opportunities. And we encourage new startups now, and that's through the greater what stop partnership, and we have some that have been very successful. But we have a rich history and what Utah obviously with the pizza Hut's Kalman's. And yeah, the the aerospace that's here. And we want to see that legacy continue. And we're now doing that. And a framework that allows we think to be more successful. I think recently we were named like the the number two or I'll just say top five city to start a business in. Yeah. That was liveability dot com. And and they base it off of, you know, time affordability emitted. He's a work life balance. Right. And I've heard that sort of echoed from a lot of people who have said, you know, I moved here in two thousand and two. Oh, and I meant to stay here for two years, but ended up now, you know, I'm I'm still here. And a hearing that a lot from people is is really cool, and kind of just feeling this sort of new energy developing in the city, and you know, can we can we pinpoint where that's coming from? So people are choosing what Utah? So even the Chung report, which probably wasn't the most fond of because I thought it had too much negativity in it. Yeah. Shared part of that study that they did that shared that which itunes now want to stay here. You know, we used to have like only about nineteen percent of the people that wanted to say, I'm I'm in love which time here. I'm here for the lifetime. Yeah. Well, that's now shifted to like forty some percent. Now, the said, I'm which is about average of any midwest City, Oklahoma City Kansas city, Omaha. They're all in that. Forty seven percent towel range. Or they say we want to call our city home for the rest of their life. So we've moved the needle quite a bit and a really short time. But it's really about quality place, and we're focusing on that, and so there's a lot of things we're doing obviously, the encouraged quality of place. Besides just the entertainment. That's seems to be going up everywhere. You see a lot of new restaurants were known for. Yeah. Restaurant week almost thought that which must be a test market for for restaurants to try. You know, good good, medium size city, come in and try out because you know, it seems like we get we'll get some and they come in and leave. But the bedevil we see a lot of those coming up. And I think there's a big competition for your entertainment dollar now in which longtime there is and and obviously that quality of places something that as we're doing very intentional easy to look at the AAA baseball stadium. And. Yeah, and see what we're doing there. And and you know, growing that venue in a way that's going to hold high school football games soccer games concerts, winter wonderland skating. Rank Santa all of those other things are great. But there's a number of other initiatives that were taken on. So you're going to see here very shortly within the a few weeks, the the new Quantocks plan come forward that's going to build six pools and six splash pads. And so I say build we're going to take some of our pools that are in the best shape and major remodel on them. Yeah. But but zero entrance and the pool right till you walk in. And so you just. Exactly, and that's really appealing especially for families. And it's just a lot more the college hill pool. And it's actually a great little we're going to make major adjustments to all of our, you know, six pools, and we're going to build six new, you know, pretty cool splash pads not just water bubbling, we're looking at spend close to eight hundred thousand dollars for each wash pads. So you can imagine the size and and enormity of it. But it's, you know, it's focusing on those things that are important to families and neighborhoods and all of those kinds of and that's good to see because I remember seeing an article several years ago about, you know, closing down pools neighborhood pools and things, and and you know, seeing or closing down. Let's say Starlight and Tennessee that we've met those challenges and as Dave not and we saved them. You know, we we said, hey this. This is something that you know, a lot of people have fond memories of the of the drive in. I mean, I. I don't go to many more. But I it's on my bucket list to do this summer and the the re-grand opening of the Starlight a couple of weeks ago. Yeah. Had people that are lined up for hundreds of yards, and and you know, doesn't get dark until at seven thirty. Yeah. Started pulling at four fifteen really. Talk about a economical getting trucks. That's the old days. Dawn. Okay. Yeah. I think I'd go with my older sister and her friends, and they would pack into the trunk to go there. The Starlight drive. How did that come about? What how did the city step in on that or so again, it was just a matter of hearing the outcry and support coming from the community, and and council Clinton and myself said look what what do you think we can do? And we made a bold statement, you know, and the and the on social media, which normally don't like to do I call antisocial media. And just said, look, let's let's hold off on the auction. Let's save the Starlight when it comes from the mayor and a council member, I guess had a little more impactful in it set the ball rolling on some negotiations that allowed us to keep it. Yeah. Very cool. And you you've been the mayor since twenty fifteen fifteen and how much longer do you have? So I I'm fif-. Initially running for reelection this year. Okay. When does that come out so primaries in August? And general is in November. Well, anybody lined up to get you so far. So not really not really do you expect that there will be? In ever know, many people want to see their name and light. Sure sure slot easier. If you don't have to write I think, it'd be nicer. Well, you've done a done a great job. It's it seems I moved away to California and move back, which you know, is kind of an anomaly for for a lot of, you know, kids do end up moving out of which I got to move back in two thousand fourteen. So I've gotten to see a lot of things kind of just really come about. You know, maybe I had a hand it. I don't know. Maybe it's because I moved back because you know, saw all these new breweries come out. So we have an incredible group of these little micro breweries everywhere. That's pretty cool. I mean that gives you kind of a kind of a good culture kind of kind of a good feel to have those inside of the kind of the core parts the city close to downtown. You know, Delano, you got aeroplanes central standard right yet. Third place in hopping gnome. And which draw brewing company, and and what a great entrepreneurial spirit there is there. They're all friends with each other. They are now you have your having community events that these different breweries. There's I think you can you can take tour of them. You know, if you really want to have I've ever. You haven't done that one. I have not done the tour. But no, it's again, I tell people when you talk about quality of life. You got to paint it with a broad brush. Yeah. You know for someone. It's just simply investment in the walking trails and bypass for someone else. It's better venue for performing arts for someone else. That's the new baseball stadium or someone else. That's the amenities of these microbreweries for someone else. That's true. Sure. Someone else that's the art museum for someone else. Made it something different for someone else. It's these new aquatics centers were building around town, but you have to paint quality of life with a broad brush. Because what I think is best for someone may be different from Lou what someone else believes in. So as long as we understand it really needs to be a very broad system. When we talk about built environment quality of place, and it's easy to lose track of all of the successes. We've had. Yeah. Again, I will remind people just in the last four years. There's a lot that we've been able to accomplish including building a new library building a new joint training center for the for our police department. Yep. Keeping Cargill seeing Union Station go through a full renovation. Oh, yeah. Big Edie warehouse going through renovation getting ready to the Hilton garden inn with a rooftop bar on on Douglas, the IM as going to build a new headquarters downtown Wichita the Douglas place the river vista the ballpark all of the things happening along the river corridor. There's a lot going on. And that's just in the core. Yeah. Now, go down to Sinica in two thirty five and you'll see all of the successes that are starting to happen there with the new.

"I think we have a pretty good idea. I think we do what I love to see Andrew bogut back in uniform. That would be fantastic. I know that the ovation that he's going to get is going to be thunderous for sure at oracle that first time we do see him in a warriors uniform. It's just wild. I love what what a really clever move. I think for the warriors to make this as they're starting to the regular season starting to disintegrate, and we're starting to get ready in amped up for the postseason of the full slate of games tonight, the NBA and Jacob. The clippers beat the Lakers. I was wondering if that was going to happen. What what was the LeBron was forty points away from passenger forty points away from passing Jordan's all-time scoring the site. I wanted he ended up with knee one thirteen one oh five loss to the clippers. The Brian James had twenty seven thirteen points away thirteen points where he will surely get that the the next time that there wasn't next game for the Lakers. It's just been such a weird year for LeBron hasn't it? Lebron haters excuse me already chiming in as an I just think it's fascinating next game that the Lakers have is at home against Denver. I think it's fascinating. Because you look at this Western Conference standings, are obviously I think out here. We know what's going on with the war is but everyone wants to push for the king's maybe knock out the Spurs. Get get the clippers out of there. Get the clippers out of their Spurs and the kings seven and eight what's wrong with that. Can I have that wish? Let me have that wish basketball got me a first round, matchup kings and warriors only the clippers in there. I have a hard time believing a Popovich run teams not gonna make the postseason, but everyone's complaining about parody in the NBA. Lebron's not going to be there is that parody enough is that parody enough. Or do you want the warriors out to the people that complain and scream about parody the NBA? Lebron is not going to be in the postseason is at the end of the world for the NBA. Absolutely. Not a super weird year farm almost just like a layup year, maybe realized early on that this team did not have what it took to get to where he needed to go. And that's why when he's taken load man's weekdays off you see him in the studio with two chains or Space Jam twos. Being announced two years before the release. I didn't you find that silly in the middle of NBA campaign and all this stuff. That's coming up for the brand is a brand is being announced just kind of year. It is for him. Absolute. But we'll get more to the NBA emotional handovers. Oh, lebron. Will you just stop subjects? What are you doing back there? Dropping like that on Monday. How you doing? Her film with good to ourselves finds this weekend. I I caught the prelims. Feeling I had a feeling the Bank. I was going to turn out the way did well, especially the Jones fight. I was kinda surprised that Johnston. Look that good. It wasn't as one of his best performances know, how good you are when you dominate somebody is the warriors of we'll get into the UFC two thirty five coming up in the eleven o'clock hour, but that Ben aspirin Robbie Lawler fight. So controversial. But so his neck crank. That's the stuff that. You're cracker was a bulldog. Choke. I take that back. It was a bulldog. Yeah. Stig Robbie was out which call it. Yeah. I mean the arm went dead for a second. Right. That's all you have to do. Man. He's moving up press conference was funny. Maybe we'll get a couple of clips of Ben talking nonsense, then spent in Woodley that was very interesting fighter. Tiran got dominated in that one. But we'll get to that in the eleven o'clock hour, obviously the news tonight. We're talking about Andrew bogut in the warriors making this push into the post season forty four nineteen right now and the warriors taking on the Boston Celtics tomorrow, really good matchup. This is coming off the road trip. So they got three at the house the next three for the warriors going to be an oracle, Boston, Denver and Phoenix. But the next game coming up tomorrow is really interesting because the Boston Celtics God you've heard so many people talk about this. There's something going on with that franchise and their fifth in Eastern Conference. So it's not like Brad Stevens is losing control of that. I mean as far as the win loss records go they're still getting business done at least thirty eight twenty six, but I was saying this last night or actually Saturday and Friday Jacob. Talked about Kyrie. When they lost the blazers and he had that stare on the bench, and he's kind of like chewing on his bottom lip that thousand yard stare. It's just he looks like he just wants to go to Zillow and just look for loss in Manhattan. He's so ready to go to New York and their fifth the fifth in the Eastern Conference. Something's going on with Boston. Why aren't they on fire like they should have been all year long? Why aren't they number one? Like, they should have been all year long. Something internal going on. I'm speculating, of course, I have no idea what's really happening. But it's Kyrie Irving and he's he's a polarizing player. No doubt. So I think he's really distracted something's going. I think he really does want out of Boston. And I mean, that's another story line to watch for the summer for sure. Just to see what Kyrie's up to especially with Boston exits early. Go through all this Hayward. Our kyri. And then they bounced out early carries out for sure no doubt about it. A lot of things going on in the NFL. All my goodness. Did you see the combine listen, I don't really want to get into much of the combine some unbelievable performances we see especially with forty some of these big boys. These big man these linemen smokin combine records, four four forty four three forties. My head was spinning like Reagan from the exorcist watching these guys zoom across my TV was actually quite entertaining to be honest with you coming up in just a few minutes. We're gonna have a man editor in chief of fan, center dot com. Jason calls can hop on talk about what is going on with all the rumors in the NFL. I mean, where do we even start with Jack? I think we should start at the quarterback. Rumors Derek Carr now rumored to be traded. I mean, we know that the raiders have so much draft stock coming up, and what was it six seven weeks away. The draft is. But more and more. I mean, we heard Gruden mentioned it a couple of times. Yeah. Like Carla Murray. Calamari is great. Oh, hammers really fine player now after this weekend. Ooh. What did I hear? What did I read? Rumors, of course, Derek. On the block, really. Now, if you're the New York Giants, would you take that Frodo? Everyone's talking about does not gonna get traded in Dade Gelman. The GM said, well, we didn't sign him to trade them. But the giants desperately need a quarterback, don't they utilize burned toast. Car for Odell straight up. Sore. Say it though, I wanna get into the value of Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jason co I do because it's so fascinating. What happened this week, especially with Marie, okay? The measurements came out. He's a little bit taller. I wish I was a little bit taller. I wish I was a baller. Like Maria Coller Murray. But I do think if he goes number one what would that? I mean that would shake up the draft so much Kingsbury takes Mary number one. He would fit in that spread offense in Arizona to you would be great. Then you ship rose into who needs a quarterback Jags Miami. Giants. I think there's gonna be fireworks on draft day. Was that stupid you ever said stupid movie with Kevin Costner? He's the chief of the Browns. Gonna be like that. Like that would just move after move after move and the raiders have so much currency in this draft. Although I will say this just to go off the freeway for a second talk about Jon Gruden and all the currency that he has in the draft. I mean track record drafting for John. How great is it? Really? I mean jank's you now how great is a key to leave. He got Cadillac Williams. Remember him? He was good. Jon Gruden with Mike Mayock, obviously is GM. I really think if we're starting to hear it now starting to heat up a little bit. I'm buying that. Jon Gruden will take Murray if he's there I will buy that. Because I'm just trying to look at the entire situation for the raiders going forward, especially in Las Vegas does. Derek Carr fit that marketing package does he? I don't know, man. I don't know if he does we heard rumors, of course, always rumors that allegedly they were not getting along last year. There's a little bit of friction. Maybe the media. I mean, others made too much of it just frustrating. You're all around. Have you really think about what the goal for this team is it's not to come back and play in Oakland for two years, come on raider fans, ever still hopped up on that? I get it. You're excited that they're back, but we had are going away party on Christmas. We said goodbye to everything. But if you look at the raiders going forward into Las Vegas Calum Murray Heisman winner. For marketing toys. And how funny would it be to be drafted by the Oakland A's and then come back to Oakland, but just to play next door? You think the as Billy beams be staring at them on Sundays with knock you just pissed off should be over here. We've doing playing the NFL there's a million things going on right now. This is why this is this is the time of the year where it gets a lot of fun as far as speculating rumors go because the baseball offseason sucks so much a whole pathway. Did you see do you see Bryce Harper's press conference? Do we have that sound Bryce Harper saying he wants to win one for DC? Please tell me we have that very fun moment. This weekend. Those those Philadelphia Phillies are going to be so good. Is such an interesting division. Anyways. Here's Bryce Harper being a not being introduced, but talk about when it championship for what city brace and go in and try and.

"Night to get tickets. Here are three of those fans inline being interviewed by reporter Maria Coller. She's great only what I do. Nobody else. What do you think? She's so great. Well, first of all as technicians magnificent as active. Driver and just tear magnetism if we could figure poor performance, I've never had occasion to hear it. But she couldn't would still be just as Nettie as ever going to happen when you finally gets to appear here after seven years, she'll get around thirty minute ovation. Most like standing, even if I have to be the only one to STAN I'm very sure Gorbenko there were such high expectations for Maria Callas. And and you talk about sort of her decline. She was very honest and fearless about her decline. What she not. Personally. I don't know. I think professionally yes, should she told reporters and journalists that her voice might not be what it had been, but she had to try. It was the result of the Satya vents at the end of her life in the end of her affair with Onassis the way he dropped her for Jacqueline Kennedy that she almost inwardly died. She must have had a nervous breakdown. And she was. Founded inside herself to come back. But perhaps it might have been better if she hadn't. Had those final series of concerts. But she she must not be defined by the last sad concerts that she gave she has to be defined by the magnificent work that had done for decades before that tumble. Let's rewind a little bit. It's no coincidence that she decided to sing Carmen for the first time in her life at the very moment that her relationship with Aristotle Onassis was beginning. In fact, all the areas in the film that you have produced have the same kind of double meaning for this woman personally and for her status as a public figure talk about her private life and her relationship and how that impacted her career. Absolutely. You know, it's it's fascinating to hear a Felicity. Speaking about that about how she was taken by by the passion of the woman, sometimes even even more than the artist, but the two together, and that is exactly how how it was. I found out that there was always a connection between Maria and callous end that whatever was happening in in her life as a woman was actually nourishing and was sort of used by callous in in order to assure into predations and NPR us that she sung in in the film Diarios. The music is. Absolutely apart fundamental part of the narration. We actually learn a lot from from the artists that are subtitled in the film and translated in order for us. Not only understand the lyrics that she's singing, but also to understand. How those lyrics are relevant in who room life in Meritas life at a particular time when she's singing such such. And I think we we learn a lot from that. It's another layer of of understanding, it's a whole subtext is a film is through the singing in through through the Arias. And that is what she describes in the beginning of the film as being the link between Maria and callous when she says if someone really twice to listen to me, they will find all of myself in there. That's exactly what it means. Let's go back to the phones Catalin is in Harrisburg Virginia. Hi, kathleen. Welcome to the program. Hi, thank you. I just wanted to make a content. I think of similar strain that's already been represented here. I crept into opera had not really thought much about Maria tablet, simply because she just didn't seem as Brighton her technique nonsmo-. There's other singers. And it was only when a friend of mine who was very passionate Frank Sinatra fan had, you know, brought to my attention that, you know, very great voices whenever younger, and as I got older, obviously, there was the degradation of the voice in the vocal quality..

"ESPN so much NFL to talk about today, but bear Jones is an Alabama graduate. He is very passionate about college football. And of course, the Heisman Trophy awarded to Oklahoma's collar Murray. It wasn't really close comrade got five hundred and seventeen first place votes to two hundred ninety nine about three hundred votes separated them total in the tally not really vote count. But the tally but three hundred points separate the two of them. And I know you're fired up about something with the Heisman trust. Yeah. It was a little fired up again, if you didn't hear my segment earlier in the show all respect to collared Murray the guy had an incredible. He's an incredible athlete. I mean, the guy it's the fact that he's a first round baseball talent Heisman Trophy winner in football. I mean, there's not many athletes out there like that. You know, if you if you sit here, and and make an argument that college to win the Heisman Trophy. That's fine. The thing that got me super fired up about that Heisman Trophy ceremony was the guy who got up there from the Heisman trust to announce the names of the finalists, and he mispronounce his name that got me super fired up. Okay. Like, if you if you take the time, if you take thirty seconds out of your day and really look at video how to pronounce his name to a Tunga by lower, right? Not tunga. Viola not. He said, I can't remember how he said it wasn't even close though, it wasn't even I it's it's I mean, there's videos out there too. There's there's all kinds of articles and videos and everything and even even if he butchered it so bad that it wasn't like I mean, I don't understand if you're going to get up there in front of national TV and do that. And again, we talked about names are important, and particularly in the culture, the two comes from the American Samoan culture names are very very important. Right. I mean, it's it's very important. The fact that you're carrying your family name up there on stage. He's got a kind of a unique story about his name and his family and the importance of family and his life. And then the guy gets up there and butchers his name that just really got me fired up. And I think it was disrespectful. They should apologize to him. I know it's a small thing. And maybe I'm getting worked up about a small thing. But I I just think obviously everyone knew at that moment that if you're paying attention to is not one is been clearly it's going to collar at that point. But I thought I thought that that was not a great move by them. And how does that guy? How does how does that guy? Make the owners how you make that mistake. If you're gonna there on stage, you're going to be the one that announced the full finalist take the time to not guess at the name take the time to actually learn how to say it. I mean if I'm calling a game, Jeff which I call game almost every week. I I looked down. I looked up all the all the pronunciations names. And I'm not saying, I always get them. Right. But you got three names look up ridiculous. No, I'm with you. You have to be able to get her, especially when you. You know, there's three finalists. They've been announced four week now, and you pretty much have no two of them right color Murray and too. So I agree with you here. Look at someone who's an organ, you're scared to say. There you go for for a an organ alum is I am Marcus Motors. Still gets out. That's easier than taco by Lois. So people butcher. Time and understand people got upset with me because a friend of mine tweeted out that they think it's it's odd that to his parents came from Hawaii all the way to Alabama. And I said, yeah, I mean a lot of us get leave our hometowns to get away from our parents in college. I know that I to stay at UCLA, and I didn't do it. And part of the reason was I wanted to get away rather reasons for that. And how fans got so upset me. I was mocking him. Or what guy tweeting was like you're mocking injured player. How do you feel about that? I go. What are you talking about? While you're like, oh, man. I it's a very unique culture. Like, you said if you read some of the articles like to us family actually chose where he went to college. So I mean, it's like he he said that like that the choice was all up to his dad's Pacific -ly. He let him choose for him, which you know, again in this day and age some people might say sound ridiculous. But I mean, and their culture, it's not ridiculous. I personally think it's ridiculous. I think I mean, my parents were certainly heavily weighted decision of where I went to college. I don't think it's ridiculous. I if two is fine with it. Then I'm fine with it too. And so it's certainly it's a very close relationship family's a big deal. You maybe soften the special you watch that Heisman ceremony about the family in Hawaii and kind of all the people that now rally around and watch two and the media's meaning in that community. So it's absolutely unique situation, and I really really special deal. Well, I believe MacKenzie Milton's parents UCF they go to every one of his games. I don't think I don't think they fly from Hawaii every one of his games. Maybe they do serious frequent flyer. So they're always there. I've played with status. I've played with a player from Hawaii as well. And his family were basically live in the states during the season or at least parts of the season to seal games played. So it's not just something that happens with two as well as the Walker on ESPN radio ESPN app. I'm Jay Schwartz alongside Barrett. Jones. Way. Before we get off that the Heisman some more. Do. I think tuition have won the Heisman. Yes. Here's the stat. I want to throw out earlier to faced five top fifty pass defenses Aaron Murray, excuse me, Maria Coller Murray faced five hundred and I or worse, right. One hundred and I are worse. Five of those two effaced five top defenses. Okay. To see the Murray, obviously played way more plays than almost almo- almost.

"Oh. Booze. News. Winners and losers. Oh, come on MacKenzie. You do better than that say with pride say what you chess. It is time for the best segment of all time. It's winner then losers. We all know the drill who's gonna start off MacKenzie. Who is your? Nah, I've got to give it this week to Jake moody. I think six I six accuracy is really the only thing that matters. They don't have to be pretty they don't have to be from you know, one hundred yards. He did the darn thing. I mean, not knowing that he was going to be put into this position. Until the day of pretty short notice not being able to mentally prepare for this type of responsibility and pressure coming out stepping up to the plate way to thrive. He's my winner for this week. You can't say not for, you know, the six vehicles exactly can't do that. And your. Well, you know. Yeah. Yeah. But I understand your perspective. What you were saying a little earlier in the show about your top top four saying the same, and the strategic mindset of it all but having my sibling rivalry blinders on. I get it selfishly. I want Notre Dame. Listen part of part of me wants them to lose to. I'm always I'm always torn with all of our rivals with Michigan state, Ohio State Notre Dame. I always want all of them to win and lose at the same time. Because obviously, I get the joy from them losing. But when if they win it means that much more when we beat them. So. I mean Syracuse ranked number twelve a lot of people said there was potential for them to come in and upset they're blowing smoke. Couldn't get it done losing the QB who knows. That's all she wrote two more smoke. All right Leach, who is your winner. My winner for this week is the university of Kansas because I have no idea how they landed less miles could be their coach. I was literally just trying to look up the details of his contract while I was hoping that you weren't gonna come to me next. But hey, it's okay. It's what happens. But I mean, it's an unbelievable higher for that program. And I just figured, you know, he's been out of it for year two or he's been away for a little while his name is a name that would be floated around bigger programs in Kansas at least in my time athletics. Yeah. I just figure if there was another job that comes available. That's a name that a lot of people would throw out there, so Kansas. You got yourself a great coach. Football games. Yeah. All right. Who's your losers who I believe it's Cam Jones is that the the name of the player who targeted Burke Edward yesterday. I believe so I believe impre shirts Cam Johnson. If I got it wrong wherever it is on Indiana. You're a loser. You know, again for me, these are the plays that were trying to take out of college football. And it is personal because I do know that words family, very well. And again, when you see somebody that you know out there on the field, and they're not moving. It's a very scary. Very scary feeling and again, I the targeting of two guys who accidentally hit heads in the whole or this or that. That's not what we're trying to take out of college football again, we're trying to limit those. But it's plays like this. We're trying to take out of college football because you see the serious ramifications that they can have. So I believe it's Cam Jones. And if it's not whoever it is on Indiana. You're right. You're you're my loser for this week. So we'll go to were man's. Skip who is your. Well, I watched some of the Oklahoma Kansas game yesterday. And I'm not going to piggyback off you lead. Because the team they're they're they're in the discussion, but Oklahoma came out yesterday collar Maria Coller Murray had a great game for the Sooners last night five total touchdowns accounting for a total of three hundred seventy one yards a huge factor in the game. You take him out and can in Oklahoma doesn't win this Wild Thing. But every time they Kansas did something. They responded calamari responded and put some points on the board. And I'm not again, I'm not sure what happened to the sooner defense. I don't think they showed up yesterday. Love the big twelve but collar Murray is my guy. He's my wonder for this week. It's a good good one and your. User, I hate to do this. Oh, I hate to do this again. But Michigan state football is again my winner. Now going to weeks in a row. You mean, your loser that I say winner you dad my bed. Okay. Moving on. Loser. This week two weeks in a row probably the most boring game on Saturday. If not the most boring game ever a field goal fast. If you will nine to six was the final against the Nebraska Cornhuskers Scott frost, did they win? Michigan state lost. I said that. Okay. Just wanna make sure you said loser. You said it was a boring game. It was a boring game. Okay. Can I finish my thing now? Yes. Okay. Rocky Lombardi got the start for the Spartans yesterday. He went fifteen for forty one. I don't think he could hit water if he thought of a boat born horrid and forty six yards and what interception. I'm just as a Spartan fan. I this is pathetic splash splash moving on Calix who is your winner. So I'm gonna jump to the NBA for the swan in pit the Sixers from my winter because they made a huge trade getting Jimmy Butler from the Minnesota Timberwolves, they traded Dario Saric and Robert Covington both guys. So I think you're going to help the timber wolves a whole lot. But in kind of a top heavy and crowded east Toronto on the walking now in Boston. They needed that extra guy on the road. I think Jimmy Butler is a guy who is he's grain on both ends of the floor. Great player. I think he'll pair nicer with Ben Simmons. And Joel Embiid. I don't know if they're better than Boston or Toronto yet. But I think this is a movie that they had to make that they wanted to keep in step. So I'm taking the sitters was winter last week, bro. What do they do last week? Wasn't that trade happen that trade happened at the end of last week? Did actually I I believe so I'm ninety nine percent positive. Correct. You can still making your winner. Whatever. No, I didn't another or I could be just still tired. And I might have said that on the afternoon show this week..

"maria coller" Discussed on Two Broads Talking Politics

"These are all things that are big, but the biggest thing that that really interesting across both parties are is commonsense gun legislation. We've unfortunately been allowed this conversation because things you know, obviously came to a head. Years, you know, parkland being a big catalyst. As we we, we saw younger individuals, high school students stepping forward and really holding adults accountable and making sure they realize that you know that literally never again, we allow these kinds of things pass without action. And so as a result of that Rabl to have conversations with with Republicans with gun owners that may previously assumed this was a single issue in which they realize you know what, there are things that we can be getting done right now, and if not for a Republican majority, a lot of these things could be the law in lives could be could be saved. I noticed that in Pennsylvania, especially in in your region within Pennsylvania, there's a lot of sort of cross campaigning going on people joining forces and working together to run. I think you were canvassing recently with Maria Coller who was on the podcast awhile ago, talk a little bit about what what that's been like sort of people working together to get elected. It is. It has been mazing particularly for person that does not come into this with the background and a breadth of knowledge and and and what the process needs to be. I mean, I do understand the nature of rallying volunteer resources. My background enough for profit sector certainly prepared me for that in about the necessity of fundraising, you know of similarly for similar reasons. But you know the law of the the inner Macken around what's necessary to fuel the machine other campaign and to, you know, to clear necessary hurdles in the fact. That everyone has been willing to person whether they're overlapping districts, whether they're Jason, whether they're, they're incumbents whom to to want to help each other out because there is this larger philosophy around, you know how a rising tide can lift all shifts in. We're aware of the fact that it's about building a democratic caucus. It's about making sure that we have a see as party at the table right now and are able to have some of these larger conversations. And we know that we're in it for the long haul. You know that it it. You know, we expect, you know, we're, we're very optimistic about what can be done in this election, but we're aware that this will be paving the path for twenty twenty and beyond and that if we, you know, wanna make sure that we're through our processes or learning to help the next generation of first time candidates to become through and have that path cleared a leisure for them. We've been seeing in Pennsylvania, you know, I think people who don't know Pennsylvania might be surprised to realize there is a Republican majority in the state legislature there. But what we've been seeing of the the candidates running for state legislator in Pennsylvania, just everyone is so strong and seems to be doing so well, I think there's going to be some major shifts in who's in, you know, hopefully shift in the majority in in Pennsylvania, but at the very least large shift of seats. Absolutely two hundred three seats only eighty eighty. Three of them are democratic. So that means obviously when you're when you're looking to try to get legislation, push board, it's a, it's a tough all there and be in and and it's it's a very narrow needle to thread to be able to find currently in the current climate individuals across the album. I willing to join you on that. And so being able to we, we've seen numbers say there's comfortably fifteen sixteen. Beats out there that they believe are on path to clip and upwards of eighteen to twenty seats that are currently having to fight. And we, we have the current speaker Tur's I, that is evidently out there knocking doors for the first time, and I don't know how long right now they're aware. They're aware that nothing can be taken for granted right now. And there are a lot of people on both sides that are either frustrated with what they're Republican party has has has become or inspired by a lot of the new democratic leaders.
