"Was at spike in september of two thousand seven. I got a job working at spike tv in spite. Tv was the home of the ufc. And i was working in tv production. I thought okay. This is the best place tv production you have see. They're the home of the ufc. It's perfect after a week. There i walked into my boss's office. And i quit and i said I i don't really think this is the right fit for me. I'm not a real like they didn't do anything creative. I'm a creative guy. I like to think of ideas come up with things and they were just kinda the middle man. The ufc was producing all the contents. I walked into his office. I said i'm really sorry. Thank you for the opportunity. But i don't think this is the right fit. And i'm the kind of guy who when he's eighty five years old. I don't want to wake up. And say i. I could have done this. I should've under should've zagged. When zagged all that stuff. He was very upset. He said you're gonna regret this for the rest of your life. This is unprofessional. Knowns ever done this bubble buff and they made me stick around for a month and a half in my cubicle until they found someone to replace me and that was the crossroads of my life in fact our mutual friend. John was a part of this process where we would go for lunch during this process. I'm not doing anything. And i'm telling him i'm gonna start my own website and i'm going to start interviewing fighters because i really want to go into journalism. I really wanna show people. That i could be the howard cosell. The max kellerman the whatever of mma. And so i started to reach out to fighters via my space. And every morning i would post it interview with a fighter and i didn't care if people looked at the interviews or five hundred people if at the five hundred thousand. I just wanted to use that to show people that i could do that. Fourteen years later. I'm doing the same thing on my youtube page. And now i want to build this and grow it and use it as an opportunity to show people but for now it's just like giving me so much joy to go back to those early days and just talk to people about things and then now like last week i interviewed mardy fish the former tennis player. Who's been very open with his battles with anxiety and friends of mine. Who have never listened to my work. Watch my work ever..

"You know more people should walk away. Let me tell you something. I got killed on this podcast for seeing mike boot and search it should just walk away after the title but since when did riding off into the sunset become a bad thing like yeah go out on top now that would that be kyrie irving doing that. Not necessarily but guess what. He's already hit one of the biggest shots in nba history. What more does he have left approve. More people should walk away man. You know what's great not doing anything to this point not too. I thought of this last night. I want one of those netflix. Uncut like document sports documentaries Mardy fish who had a you know mental health issues us about the play roger federer to for chance to go into the quarterfinals of the us open and he just had his having a panic attack and he was just not just decided. Like i don't have to play. And he walked away and like he's didn't play for for five years. Then it's good for you and like props you. That's that's a lot of guts to do that. And i mean it's it's it's a mental strengthen. Its own to do that so yeah i walk away but go to when vinay davis said. Nfl player like retired halftime. That was awesome man. I don't need more should walk away. If it's not bring you joy anymore. I mean what do you do it. I'm all for walking away. Yeah mardy fish salute. that's cool. You know who. Like i remember. I was watching college football. Game like notre dame alabama playoff game and notre dame's quarterback got hurt and to backup to come in and play alabama and like not man. You're not paying me enough to do this. You know what i mean. I'm not coming in cold off the bench. Just walk away. People just walk away. It's gonna be alright. Become a little therapy session. Semi conversation of my. I'm just saying if you take away. Anything from this podcast. It's don't be afraid to quit. Let's get to an entirely. "To sports. Talk talk miles. Don henderson with you and we're going to talk some tennis tonight. Vintage tennis if you will where it all began at least. The professional side began with one of the original nine on the wta. The women's tour is going to join us. She's written a book about her life at is called driven daughters out of one and we're joined today by Julie heldman originally held out california. And don i think we're gonna have some fun talking some Tennis you and i are big tennis guy so Will enjoy this. Wakened disapprove time to have gilio on and her family is really the heritage of tennyson. The very very nice. We chatted with a few seconds before he went on the air. And let say julie welcome to the show and we look forward to chatting with you. Thanks to both have don. I'm ready tuck Muscles and tennis post to hustle. So we did. I'm glad i was able to contact. Julie kazaa i could only. I tried going onto website for the book. And i sent him a message there and then i had one on the facebook show. Thank you for getting back to to us here and We wanted to talk since the book came out. I know it's been out a little bit but Still doing quite well. I understand and it's a great book. Your life really from beginning to now. Yeah it was in more than interesting for me to write. It was something like it had to be written. It had to come out of me. 'cause i did. I've done a whole lot of things in my life but some of the biggest issues in the book were my relationship with my very famous and highly successful mother and it was really a very difficult but it was a highly abusive relationship when i was young and then my living through the history of women pro tennis where my mother was. The person who organized was the architect and engineer the beginning of the women's pro tour without her wouldn't have happened. Of course it. Also wouldn't have happened without billie jean king and it also wouldn't happened without our sponsor the cigarette companies virginia slims. But i i The the the rest of the books who also deals with the fact that i've had to deal with a great deal of mental illness over the last twenty thirty years actually for most of my life. And i only got diagnosed in twenty five years ago so there is a. It's a little bit for everyone and they're looking for you. I would assume doing it. And when you talk about being that dating very interesting story the sidebar. The oakland with asaka and the problems that she had in the way they explained during the tournament the pressure and all the things that nobody realizes that was they did a terrific job during one of the brakes and talking about the pressure that are on these women and sometimes it's just a little bit overwhelming. Did you i. i certainly lived. That mine was quite different from most of the dependent stories. You hear because most of the penny service you here are have to do. With the enormous risk of parents being involved in and one thing the child to succeed so much that the parent child relationship becomes impacted. but there's a huge impact. Also it's an interesting sidebar from what we did. We made it possible for the beginning of the women's pro tour when the goal was to get money into women's tennis because there hadn't been but now that there's so much money there's an extra kind of a pressure that people don't really think about. Which is that the pressure to win. To succeed overtakes any joy in playing it all becomes about winning and it all becomes. Every point is so important. So that if there's any kind of little problem that inside of you that becomes a magnified Tennis court where you're out there alone. You know where you're on the baseball field and your teammates. Same is true for basketball. Same is true for football and antennas. You're really on your own and if anything goes wrong it you who who needs to deal with it. Which brings an awful lot a wonderful thing. You learn to rely on yourself when it counts but at the same time. There's the problem of the pressure that mouse and it isn't just women. Main mardy fish in the last couple of years as admitted to having had terrible anxiety problems panic attacks and as you know and swimming in gymnastics. That pressure is there so that we're in the old era the era of amateurs. That just simply wasn't there but now that the pressurised ramped up so much. It's a real issue throughout sports. So i know down here. julie We've covered over the years You know the img in the nick bollettieri academy and so many young Particularly girls have gone through that program. They seem to start the girls a lot younger than the boys early say they send to push them into the pro ranks earlier than the boys. And i guess that's a lot of the pressure you hear the stories about you know what goes on there and not necessarily bad but i mean there's a lot of pressure on these little eight nine year old girls to be so good so early in that's kind of what you just talked about right. There at that pressure starts at such a young age. You really can't handle it. Nobody should be able to handle what the kids who are eight nine like doing they like going in the playground and playing jump rope and giggling that part get left out so humans are social animals as we discovered their independence and so little kids and they need some of that and there are some parents who have learned. How'd you make that balance work. But it's hard to do so. I was saying that mind with a very different because usually apparent is so wrapped up in the children win it. My mother was not wrapped up in that she was wrapped up making the tennis world. A better place for layers and for the future. She had her own tennis magazine. Which you started at the age of thirty one and made it into the world's most important tennis magazine and she became an incredible promoter. But the kids. My my sister and i kind of get left out in the mix and so that when i began winning tournament i was twelve that in the canadian national eighteen and under and my mother i came home. You know feeling full of myself. And my your hair's hugli cut it off. I was about what i got. It was like my winning became a threat to her. So that's in radically different. From the tarrant who is overly involved but equally as disturbing to the child without the child knowing because your parents or your life so i lived through a world in which my mother was one of the most important people and yet she was abusive to me in a way that i could not understand nor could she. Frankly.

"Are you seeing, um, a trend here or something that has changed when it comes to the Women's tennis Association and women who are saying, Look, we're really struggling with some things that are going on here. Yes, And I'm seeing it with women and men, and I think it's a whole combination of factors when you include the pandemic and how that impacted everything. Tennis players were really hit hard by that, because it's such a global sport. You've got the advent of social media, more gambling. The solo aspect is one thing. So you're out there on court, just trying to beat the other person and you're really doing it all by yourself. Now these top top players that make a whole lot of money They can pay to surround themselves with a coach or fitness trainer Cook, but it's even harder when your lower ranked and you don't have the money to fund somebody to travel with you and that's I think an aspect it makes tennis so difficult. The financial burden is all on the player. The players pay their own travel if they don't get into the The major tournament. It's a significant financial hits, so all of those aspects combined make it pretty difficult. This week, we saw Naomi Osaka again to discuss for mental health, saying she's going to step away from the game for a while. That's a little different than what we saw from Sloane Stephens. Who revealed some of the tweets that she's gotten that were just terrific. And Shelby Rogers do you see a difference in all of these? I mean, two. We're talking about social media, one mental health or they all combined. I do see a difference because we've talked a lot about Naomi Osaka this summer, going back to the French Open when she opted not to do the press conference there and that set off a bit of a firestorm. Let her sitting out for a couple of months. And now she wants to take another break. I mean, she's somebody who has been open about struggling with mental health in the past, and this seems like a situation where she's not happy and wants to try to address that and try to fix that. So that's one area of concern here. The other area of concern that you mentioned with Sloane Stephens past US Open champion and Shelby Rogers, who beat the number one player in the world. Ashleigh Barty, then lost her following match. Yeah, It's a huge problem. You get people messaging, These players horrific, horrific things on social media. This happens to men and women as well. Often times. It's people who have put money on the particular match and they lose the money and they're not happy. So they want to take out their frustrations by sending a Really vile string of words to somebody in a direct message on Instagram. There's always been gambling on sports, but now it's more front and center, so maybe it probably is drawing in more people. Tennis is also unique in that it is one of the most popular sports to gamble on worldwide because at all levels of the sport, there's tennis almost every single day all hours of the day, so don't is very easy to find something to bet on. Does not excuse it, but it's a minority of people that are going to send these kinds of messages and even Shelby Rogers. She even said that night that she was going to focus on the positive and she came back a day later and said, essentially, yeah, these are gross. But you know, I have gotten a lot more positive messages to support my career. But you can't help but notice those really hurtful and disgusting Once is there a difference between the men and the women? We're hearing more from the women. We are hearing more from the women, but I don't think there's much of a difference. Marty Fish, who was an American top 10 player about a decade ago, was going to the U. S open to play Roger Federer and he was in his car from Manhattan and had an anxiety attack and he couldn't play that day. And it set off this really ongoing battle between Mardy Fish and anxiety it significantly impact at the end of his career as a player, and he's out now with a new Netflix show about his struggle. It's called untold. We can, you know, talk to a some kind of psychologist about whether maybe there's a more of a stigma about men speaking out. I do think it's there for both the men and the women as something to deal with, and it kind of remains to be seen. How if players are taking advantage you do hear players say I'm working with sports psychologist That's made a huge difference. But there is still that kind of barrier that a lot of players and a lot of people put up before they say. Okay, I'm working with Somebody on my mental.

"Get a hotdog in chips and our parents would drop us off at three o'clock on on every day in the summer. And we'd play nine holes gall and have a hot dog and chips every single day. And like i mean you'd probably be me i don't know maybe once or twice played that because you drive by like red stick. Yeah then you get the sandwich and all you want to do is play rid stick. I've never played them. And you get the sandwich and it is sandwich like there's limited grabs all sound awesome. Yeah that's where we that's where we grew up playing jay ladies goals and that's where he learned how he's a great player but he's he ate fish. I can't i can't wait to send him attack. Heard you're good player. But you're not filling being maurice guys. The he's a great golfer but he ain't fish. He's good. I mean we appreciate the time you know untold breaking points on Netflix now raving reviews from our guy. Lurch tennis expert so So yeah we appreciate the time off. I've ever heard lurch talk about anything like that in his life. He was excited. Do it's a. It's an unreal. doc. It's i was just a kid. Say i'll be watching. I love it as a kid. I was thought. I knew a lot of battles going on in the tennis world and had no idea really of your whole story honestly so super super cool and just super interesting so must watch. It's a it's a huge very high recommend from your boiler on the show. Thanks for that. I appreciate it. Thanks for watching. And thanks for having me guys. I i love the show so listen to it all the time so i appreciate it. Thanks downloads for the for the plane. Right now. data for touch on skip around at sandwich together touch on the moaning at all as a as a casual tenant frankie question. Talk to us about the moaning. Is it a culture thing at this point. Wanting is not moaning moaning. They're leading out letting out air to to hit the ball a little bit harder than you than you usually do. Its strategic shot. Happened in other sports right. So like i mean a harmon told us to do it on the golf course. Right took pitcher grunt as he pitches. Yeah well yeah. I guess a little bit of Yeah that's true. Think like david price. Listen to klay. "He's a sweet kid. Like if i saw him on the street he'd stop and say hi to the kids house. The family know just like super nice guy He's just sort of misunderstood and then people don't like him because he you know because he beats guy matchy walks out to center court just double bird. The crowd shoes. I'm telling you that you would be a megastar. Vide did that megastar. His wife had the shirt. I run with a wolf the other night and then andy actually tweeted at andy. Roddick tweeted out. I'm saying i Job takes your legs next he takes in your soul and that was brought up in the post post game presser and joker like corrected it because he does want to delight any good guys like i don't take people saw now and mike was very polite in the way he accepted that question. Like you definitely take each your heart your tennis game. That's for sure that there's like because when we talk about golf and guys playing in the tiger woods era and they're always very thankful to play in that arab because he was able to generate a lot more money for the collective group but tennis seems to be a little bit more the opposite right. Because it's such a you got to win the event really rake in the cash. I mean we didn't see that huge bomb Like tiger i mean. I don't think we'll ever see something like that again right like i mean the guy owes him the most is someone like fill the and he understands it. He knows it He appreciates him and and look. I mean we. We appreciate roger rafa. Y'all but like we had to play them specifically it's just a little different I've been lucky enough to place a major advance in golf and stuff and just enter to have fun with it and everything in try and study like the mental side of golf and stuff in it. It's it's similar end so different At the same time like in tennis were so trained mentally to just stay. Focus the entire time. If you leave focus you could lose a couple points and then all of a sudden you've lost your serve in that in turn. We lost the set against a big server may be but in golf. I play these events early on. And i was so focused because that was all i trained. That was all how i trained right like. I'm focused on. Never leaving my. My mind is in it at all times. You do that for five and a half hours up and like a real round of golf. You are exhausted. I leave the golf course in. I'm like i'm more tired than i was in a five-set match on clay which makes no sense because we know how physical office so like So i in mentally like. I was like really fascinated by both games because they're You know they're so individual but but yet so different mentally So anyways it says something to some the thing about. I mean you're an absolute stick on the golf course too so like and i know you grew up in vero and your friends with jay cohen. Who's been friendly. We've done a few things with la. Yeah quite a bit. How's your golf game stack up against his way better. Yeah but let me. We used to play. I mean we played. We've been best friends. We are five years old. You know so we. He and his twin brother jared i. We used to get dropped off in the summer every single day in the summer at this public course called sand ridge in vero beach as shitty golf. Course that. like deflate dude. I give anything to play sandwich again but dramas often it was a dollar. Seven dollar plus tax is a dollar seven. Play nine holes..

"He's i mean it's certainly Certainly i couldn't even try to you. Know i've seen him throws racket one times tar career. So he's he's so unique are did hit that ball one time though which he did hit that ball at one time at the line judge that was right there there. Oh that's talking about federal. Oh yes offensive. So well like he's like he's the equivalent of like derek. Jeter going into fenway and getting cheered. Like i've played plenty of matches against him where it's been in the states and they're supposed to be rooting for me and they're just rooting for roger and ninety like the sixty forty. It's like legit like ninety five five. You're just like how does this guy come in your and get all the fans you know. like so. he's he's that he's he's jeeter in. Fenway jeeter dodger stadium. People rooting for now Actually like out routing like you'd never see that and so there's just so unique you know and mean it's it's special. It's like you know. Like i said before is a blessing and occurs Like big took away. Lots of lots of wins. Reme- took away a lot of money but but it was also pretty cool to play them. I'd love to see a full. He'll turn from joker. That'd be fantastic. It will be right like he needs to embrace that like people don't the don't like him very much and they don't like the way he acts on the court. Whatever in like if he just leaned into that you know like does the injury thing right as we take injury. Timeouts all time I may use to. He used to do that. He's much better with that now. Back in like oh seven away candidate like yeah he was. He was lead into that. I agree he just started like taunting meteorologist. Don't don't try and get the crowd on your side anymore. Let's like he would honestly be like mcenroe connors like back. Then you know conners like was was gnarly on the court you know he's been people he's yelling. Cussing at it was nasty dude but like he was connors and you loved watching it joke. He's like he wants to be like like your andy. The cats problem. He's a nice kid..

"When i when i was playing at a high level and so i would try and set up my back in any way possible so i would develop a shot down the line which was which took off a little bit of pays but had some height on it and pushed the guy back a little bit on the court so then they either have to come short. I was trying to get to the net as well. Good hands and zeal the net. So i felt like my groundstrokes weren't as good as let's say joke. A bit for instance. So i would try and push him back to his back inside as much as i can knowing that he's either gotta come back to my best shot my back in score or if he leaves it a little bit short. I can't afford to come to the net. That was sort of how i would try. But everyone's so different right. Because if i played in doll i would try and and open you know everyone set like noodle that is crazy for hand right still is unbelievable for best forehand of all time Certainly the most powerful in heavy for and in terms of the rpm's on the ball pushes you back like crazy If i were playing him you would think you'd want to stay away from his forehand right but for me. If i opened up the court on his hands i got him over on his forehand side hitting forehands as opposed to hitting four hands on the backhand side where he was just absolutely deadly. I could open up the back and get it there. And then be super comfortable. If he's hitting back and never comfortable four hands like these guys are all different. Like i played jovic different than i played in. All different than play fetter different federer hated playing defense was all he was the most offensive player ever in terms of having control of every point he was not very good he missed a lot issued gave you a lot of points but went where he was great was he could just turn blake uncomfortable ball for him into a winner.

"Like i'm not gonna lose his guy. Add ever so i'm just gonna let him hold serve and will it'll be six. Oh six three and it'll be comfortable in for me. I'm i'm telling you i swear to you. That's exactly what happened. He let me win three games in the finals of grasp were there. So you're coming up with those guys sometimes Sometimes been pretty daunting. How much do you intense. Because i don't know. And i will say that i am the big matches i think are maybe some of the best television in the world. It is so good when guys are evenly matched when the stakes are really high. When there's a history you got the wimbledon and the outfits and you got the clay and how unique like i've loved that but on a day-to-day basis like most people. Not that crazy into it on a on a match by match basis. How much are you genuinely studying your upcoming opponent like going into it so if i haven't seen a lot of them i'll try to search for some videos like youtube. Remember this kind of before analytic since stuff you know Sort of two thousand eleven twelve or that that type of time If i got somebody in the first round or two and a slam that because grand slams are the biggest draws are actually easiest tournaments to get into Because they're draws so big one hundred twenty eight draw so so you can get some guys there that are qualifiers or or or sort of snuck in because they played a lot on clay and they were good on some spaniards or sons. I try and look for those guys. online honestly and ask sort of anyone look at his previous results. In see of any americans play them or kind of anyone else close with his played them just like who. The fuck are honestly. There's been you know look up. Guys ranking is like this guy's ranked three hundred forty which is still like a pretty bad ass tennis player but like in our kind of in our world. You know it's hard to find him or hard to find a lot of stuff on on the other guys Of played so. I had played so often or watched so often. It's import. it is important to to watch civically. Tennis is just such a one on one type games. Not like golf where Where you sort of playing yourself and playing the course You're not playing the other one. Hundred forty guys out there You're just intended to just out there playing one guy so you just have to be one guy that day. You don't have to beat the entire draw. figure it out. After he player you lose whatever but like just have bigger out that one day So that's you know you kinda get with a coach and you with your coach. And they do their research. And if they don't fire and you annual you you tried as much as you can on on the go back watch. I'd watch some of the matches that i played that gives us a little j. back in the day and the plug it into your computer or whatever he can watch previous matches and stuff like that So that's kind of that's kind of what we did. Yeah i always find just that really interesting really interesting just to kind of the preparation and i. I remember like rip. But kobe did an interview with big guy..

"That was because i was too heavy to be doing what i was doing. Not again not walking around the street but like running around for four hours on concrete end so I sorta rededicated myself said honestly outta look in the mirror moment whereas dislike is your is your chance you know to like finally lose some weight getting shaped like really physically getting shape and i thought i was going to lose fifteen and fifteen pounds ended up losing thirty two ounce and so It just flew off Out super discipline witted. It rolled into everything that i did. On and off the court in my life You know stop drinking. Stop putting like bads Crabby things in my body at the time and Of reinvented myself. I didn't know where it would take me. But i knew that i was different in different player. Different body all that stuff so you know and then and then finally like the coming in the generation that we came in with federal tall joke You know to a certain degree. Murray on resort. Sort of a blessing and a curse. Right like you're it's kinda cool to be playing in that generation. You know with those guys and you know nice to say that a beat them once They bb a lot and they need everyone a lot. And so it's sort of stunted our careers a little bit. I guess with playing with those three or four guys where they're just hogging all the majors all the big events you know. Those guys confidence willis competence like going into matches against those guys. Did in your heart of hearts think you could win where there are times when you thought you could win. Ties you win and be like all right boys. I'll see after the match. We're going out honestly. I definitely i didn't play. Thank god i didn't play rafa on clay. That would have certainly felt like that right like like don't get double bagel here That will be nice to win a couple of games. I would probably feel I played roger wimbledon And actually won a set off but that was in two thousand three was before he wanted. That was his first major. That one Two thousand three so You know so but there. There's been telling a joke which is a guy. Where if he's on the walking out there. You're not walking out there going like i'm definitely gonna lose your thinking like this is going to be tough. I have to play incredibly well. You know as an athlete. You're like you're never walk out there going like i'm gonna lose. This is ugly but there are moments in a match where you're just like holy. Can you cuss on this joe. Oh talk actually no no. We don't do that as old shit is getting ugly. Here i play. I also played roger in two thousand two thousand and four final of grasscourt tune-up tournament and hala germany and He was up nine zero in the first in the first sort of nine games and So six oh three. Oh and i'm thinking to myself like this is not good you know. These people have paid a lot of money to come here. His stadiums packed in this. Be a final and like this is not good. And i guarantee i swear to this day i still think roger let me hold out to to sort of you know because he understands your sponsorships and like people their stuff..

"You know like he's tiny bit taller same type of servicing type of game a little bit better back in maybe not quite as good a beforehand is nerve was a total bulldog on the court. So you know in terms of competitiveness in stuff he he was unmatched almost But oh pelicans kinda got that huge game where you're just like man if you just sort of figure out a the mental side of it the competitive side of it. Great kid Root form like crazy you know. He's sort of our our top guys. Fashion cora's another one who His dad obviously was Peterkova when the australian open a bunch of years ago and obviously his sister's guessing now now a They're just an awesome family. Incredible talent that family. I mean savvy. Good a plate. Pryke play golf for or soccer as well means like phenomenal at pretty much. Everything turns out. He's pretty phenomenal tennis as well. So that's a good thing for me and you know then we then you know you sort of look at the older guys in. John is in know the sam queries. "If the americans win and win comfortable willoughby a photograph of rigs on that sunday that completely invalidates everything you said in the last who one hundred not. I agree complete. We're going to try to not let that happen. I actually moved. I'm gonna try and lean into it so that we can post that grenell grenell celebrating with the blues after they stopped asking. It's definitely going to happen true. It does like worse. If he's in there so much worse get in there. You know what. Yeah you're right. I cannot wait to take video in that picture of him hosting the fucking kidding me. I cannot wait for europe to win. And i can't wait for there to be utter total chaos and turmoil afterwards and cart like you said it is just waiting to burst through. It is waiting to happen. It's been building up to this and it's the perfect scenario for there to be total chaos. Total chaos no question. And i i just don't know i don't know who the bad guys easy person as bryson. Just i just don't know who how it's going to happen. Really not being there actually helps. But i don't know who that's going to be on who the mickelson read is going to be is almost chew easy. It pick somebody seeking it the who it. Yeah but he can't help it. He can't help him like he's gonna be asked something in the media knows it and he's especially like some european buck and journalists is gonna be in there and they're going to ask the right question and bryson's just going to say something ridiculous. Yeah when my teammates ball sucked. So i could you know discount. It's gonna be great price. It goes like oh to two. They lose by. Three points is a shit. Storm is drives flying out to long drive championship. Which the next day be great. If that is gonna be fantastic. I mean it's very exciting. It's overall barrick said do you guys frankie trent. You guys confident. Usa is going to win. You like the picks yes love the guy shuffler. I'm going to send him a little american flag emoji because we're not friends after what happened when we're at liberty national so yeah. I'm very confident in this team. They're the best players in the world. jon rahm scares me a little bit. I'm going to say that. Jon rahm being on the opposing side is scary because that guy is just nails very hard to beat john..

"Now they're all over. There's a lot of reasons going on. And like i said. I think that there's a part of everyone that wants to see a little chaos at the end. I think that like brooks and bryce. I think the press conference with phil and tom watson like i think people love that. I think i've always like holy shit. What's going on here. Can you think that was awesome. Kurt oss i watch it on youtube probably three times a year. I loved understand why it made. No sense does sound like a baby. It was tremendous but it also you know i thought find perfectly the american golfer in the entitled. It's involved with it. Was it was perfect. Everything about it her. Yeah yeah no it was it was you. That's going to happen. Everyone likes stricker. So it's not gonna happen like that but when they lose like i said they're gonna go meet. They can have some other idea at that. Stupid fucking committee gonna come out and they're gonna say oh. Here's our twenty twenty three captain ladies and gentlemen. That's fucking sack johnson. Who's doing this shit all over like they've made pick they can't help cells. Which is what i'm rooting for. Yes i agree with that. That is i would very much enjoy that because a i'd be able to claim that i was right and be able to watch all sorts of chaos fold like i remember standing in paris airport and we were screaming on the on the phone with each other about the chaos about patrick reed and calling into the new york times. What is wife was saying new york team. That shit's fantastic. I mean i. I know rudy for team. But then you had. Tommy fleetwood infra jessica molinaro were like sleeping in bed with the with the ryder cup together and posted funny videos and then the other end of it was complete and utter chaos. People leaking shit to the media trying to drag other folks like yeah overall. That is now what. I'm rooting for your ducks. In a row now romans swipes okay clinically proven way to last longer in bed. Which is the goal you want to be out. Would it be looked at as a start. You want to not only be looked at but you want to enjoy this fine intimate moment that you have found yourself in. You've done all these all of these things right. You think about it throughout a lot of your life you make decisions based upon this fun activity called sex and now that you've gotten to this moment you just wanted to end. You wanted to finish in two seconds you workout you exercise. You get haircuts.

"The details around this big pro. we're partnered. it's me chris. Cody greg cody. mardy fish and a singer from earth wind and fire. Zadie bailey bailey. Whoa man that's the eisley brothers down. Wait a minute. Earth wind and fire. Don't have zadie. okay all right. Dan just made the affonso ribeira mistake. Yeah just pay the fine okay. Fair enough fair. Are you guys going to youtube this or are you guys going. Are we going to be able to get this on anywhere where we're going to be able to get this live okay so alive. I think what. I'll probably end up doing is i might. I might live tweet around there. Is i believe in idea so. There's a twitter account called the tiger tracker. And we were thinking about doing the cody tracker for the for the course of the day so that we can keep track of the progress of everyone here. At lake tahoe. We we do have a full camera crew. As as a matter of fact chris. Cody is being wired for sound right now so this will be released some point but i but in terms of live progress. I think it will have to be Myself i'll be recording on audio here. So i can kind of produce an audio report for you. Perhaps and then the the video will be released in a few days. So there will be a podcast episode specific to your adventures in tahoe. That's the plan. Yes are you guys afraid. Used to god's chris cody or more specifically. Greg cody that you're going to swing and miss I am terrified. I really i played the course on. Monday played nine holes and then i played well. I played eleven. Eleven total holes. I played very very well. But i was nervous being here because it set up a pga tournament. I was nervous. Just being out here with a scoreboard like a leaderboard was in front of me. And i was nervous about that so chris and i are very very nervous. Greg seem strangely confident. Which is odd. Greg feels like he's feeling good. He stretched out. He's got his band-aid. And greg thinks he has a good shot with a twenty two handicapped by the way greg feels like he has a very good shot pulled off an upset today. What does that mean pulling off an upset and being better than we expect when we expect them to embarrass themselves. I could i could see greg upsetting people. Yes yes yeah. There should be a prop out on draft kings. As to whether or not greg's get ed page. Because i have played with gregg before and there's a very very good possibility of that happening. Is he playing golf shoes or is he playing in his boat. Shoes golf shooting dan. All right you take me for their new golf shoes. Those aren't the same as you went to. My course with a little scuffed up. I intentionally scott scuffed them up to make them look like. I wasn't debut album. How many beers did you have last night. a modest amount. I think yeah hottest filet mignon..

"Need christopher this anecdote. Are we still doing. Are we still doing messages in a bottle. Okay so i got a message from someone. Who is someone in charge of the american century championship of that. Which is the golf tournament. And lake tahoe. Every year. the one that friend of the program mardy fish one last year the one. They're you know steph curry and patrick mahomes and tony romo and all the best celebrity golfers attend and in that message. The show has been offered to spots to spots and the american century championship pro. Am that happens on the thursday. In lake tahoe. This is televised. By the way this is telephone. Why would we not do that. It's going to be stugatz. And whom right. Who's playing second plan. I think we know who won't hang on a second math. I'm doing my head here now. We have come up with an idea to turn this into competition of some sort. So stugatz is in. He has to be in value. I was also told that so. We're we're planning our two spots. I was told that we will see is great. It's also the first. I'm hearing of this working out in the middle of the summer hanging out with patrick. Mahomes aaron rodgers travis. Kelsey is going to be sure they're gonna wanna hang out with us. They will rogers saying they will. We're still waiting for kelsey. Call us during the twenty four hour marathon tooth poll. Then for some reason we didn't want him on at eight. Am the next morning. I in any of the meaning born in any of the meeting so counting money. So i've i've been told that are two spots. We'll be in a group with mardy fish. The defending champion and the lead singer from earth wind and fire back. Are you shitting me all went. Can we do this. Tell me about this well well. There is a chat. it's called the match in which there will be. We believe a competition between chris. Cody and somebody. Now jessica was meant to be the competitor. He's having difficulty getting to miami. All right i missed. You are so scared podium. So scared he might have to play against me are terrified to do that. Yeah so i i believe. It's god's golf course. No no no no. We could just say. Chris god's boom by being go dan. Here's the deal. We got these invites and we agree. That i would go and i would play and now we wanna play in game for the second invite so. The original idea was to have wittingham. Call this at my course right and we have all the guys that individual holes. Chris goes to roy at eighteen sixteen. I mean we're going to do this on youtube now. Mike is covering the legendary eleventh hole where he stuck the. He'll be like jack nicklaus at the masters were like. He hits the ceremonial first shot. It looked the ceremonial first shot. At the devils. I'll put away. We'll say my. Brian hit it here. You have to hit it. Inside of mike ryan if you get a prize to be realized how difficult it is the shoot a golf tournament. We're going to be out there with like one hundred and forty seven cameras. We can have tracker. Where the ball tracer what i think we should do. And i'm hearing this for the first time but this would be the centerpiece we go live broadcasts with whatever. We just ran around with your face. It's like a handful of people who work from metal art media out there and who are the competitors. It's chris. cody is a very good golfer. Chris cody is an exceptional golfer We were gonna put him against smutty but smutty doesn't seem like i don't think this is gonna work out because she's up in new york. We need to do it down here. So we were thinking dad verses son for the second spot humane. Greg cody versus. Who says chris cody. Hasn't beat me since ninety nine wouldn't be much of a match. No no but we have you get handicapping strokes just go you gotta earn your way in pal earn your way and i think we have cody at to god's as i play out of course here and i'll just send you guys a picture of my scorecard on nine smutty shows. You look if we're doing this. This is a competition to see who the second best golfer is. This is not given x amount of strokes here. we're making. This is not this okay. We can do that separately. This is the see. Who's the second best golfer on this damn show. Here's where it all got unhinged in the group chat. I made the suggestion. That greg cody takes all parts inside a five feet for putting kit. I am putting my own putz serious. I love afraid. Chris and that he might not be able to go constantly really high drama confidently afraid yet but chris. Here's the problem in the group tax. You set yourself up for this because you set us the celebrity guest list and you said i don't believe i mean it's ridiculous so mike ryan pounds the second. You said that he responded. You're right you don't belong playing game. You would smutty at some the beyond the last conversation dying words you gotta earn your way. Put it on the poll. Please lebatardshow can you be bentley. Afraid so we left the worldwide leader in sports for the freedom.

"It's going out his. Yeah i in many respects because the vaccine is is making life returns slowly slowly normal. It kind of feels like this is a restart on not just our show but life in fact we're gonna kick off the the freedom marathon with finally finishing the second half of saint. John's creighton from the big east tournament was a great near the ball. Creighton the return to normalcy. When we come back happens when costco starts giving back free samples. I heard that. Costco is giving out samples again. What it's well. it's gonna be a while before. I take free samples again. Oh i can't wait well around the topic of costco though the costco rotisserie chicken because today is national rotisserie chicken day in the united states. The cost rotisserie. Chicken isn't elite rotisserie. Chicken four ninety five for ninety nine but yeah wise unrelentingly full of shit. Yeah he's never going to take a free sample at costco. Has home picking at the community. Crocetta zoning board. He's got it in his beard like. Why are you fundamentally incapable. Croquettes us here. Effort selling anything. Chris what were you wanting to get in on on cosco samples. You miss costco samples in a way that makes you see that soul soul-crushing just samples. in general. I was at an ice cream shop over the weekend not surprisingly and they are not giving out samples yet. They have the little spoons there. But this a sign next to it says no samples. It's like move the spoons. Okay and plus. Why can't we give samples. I feel like that's pretty. You know sanitary is that's good. You just put the spoon and it goes in the garbage like. Why can't we do that. Jessica i i know that you would like to replace me already. But can you explain to me why you had howling laughter at the idea that chris cody wasn't sure how to pronounce sanitary. He's not a colored. I'm sorry we don't have to ask wittingham for confirmation on how does a sandwich by us. There right sanitized. San we created all around you because they let you go chris. Thanks chris. yeah good question celebration on friday. Everyone's going to be happy. It's a triumph abbar fledgling company as part of the celebration. A contract for me. This is problematic. This is the part of the business that i did not sign up for where getting it on friday. We will be happy. He's going to hold out here holdout. There's going to be a contract holdout right. He's going to hold everything up on friday. You have an entire hour for soupy to really showcase that podcast. This friday. This friday okay. What's hot. I don't want to give away the full run. He hasn't been any of the meetings he doesn't know any more than the audience doesn't for me it's just wing it and demand more money. What are you plans for body. Five o'clock yeah. Is it just the normal thing. And i just said i didn't wanna give away the full run and show and you just gave out the time. Okay i'm already sick of you hasn't been in any of the meetings mike. He doesn't he hasn't done any of the practice doesn't know what's going on around here. All even doing is counting money and asking for more a- if there's any professional athletes specifically golfers listening and you're available on friday at five pm maybe give me a call i'm guest booking this hour i got stugatz. Might actually happen since we were trying to figure that one sumati all right very good so mardy fish may or may not be a member of stupidity or guest on stupidity. Tomorrow that will be tomorrow with morty. Fish very much looking forward to that This friday five o'clock. I have no idea. We'll we'll make it up. I'm very excited for that. As i'm sure the audience mike ryan less so because of things like that. We are not a plan show and one of the joys of watching this. I would imagine twenty four hour. Livestream is it might end up in a ditch like we might embarrass ourselves. We've never planned anything like the last time we tried to plan something was on. We were going to do a special you remember. We were going to change the way. People viewed on the internet we were going to do the dunk lebatardshow and mike i saw in the jason room over here weeping on his knees saying saying he sat out loud. Because i cursed. And ron mcgill showed up drunk or vice versa. I don't remember which one it was showed up drunk and late which is like the worst combination and then i cursed because we weren't entertaining. The people enough and mike was kneeling in that sad room over there. And he's saying this can't get any worse as there's just like stickiness on the floor and god knows what in everyone's system and he's like. This is the saddest day of my life and then a comes over with the bill and hands it to him and he realizes oh and i'm stuck with this too and now look what that rooms become mike. I think you to light this plan. What i'm thinking that room become it's worth the middle cat doesn't become a dump with all your toys in there. It's like what does that doesn't a. I'm embarrassed on behalf of metal arc media that people are coming in and with this paul fine bucket basis. It's obviously these people are giving their careers over to us. And it's like a playpen over there of garbage because we don't know what we're doing. I think there's been a caper. I haven't been able to find old. Paul fine bucket for a little bit. Last i saw you had a bus up knows in. He's not here right now. I think someone solar fine bucket with the..
