"He was christ himself. The ultimate authority figure who determined life and death prosecutor. Lisa go and told our game in game me. Oh i can't something like that. it is just like another. Oh she's she's trimming no. it's a theme. she's so cute. She told the court the prosecutor told the court but for this suicide pact for his teachings none of this would have happened. When it's okay it's okay. she's running. When all was said and done marcus wesson was found guilty on all counts and on june. Twenty seven two thousand five. He was sentenced to one hundred and two years for the rape and molestation charges and for the murder of his children and grandchildren grandchildren children. He received the death penalty. He was sent to san quentin prison. The nation's largest death row and then gavin newsom beautiful life until he died of old age. Yeah piece of shit. While gavin newsom put a moratorium on the death penalty in california so now he'll just have to sit and rot because he's never getting out good. As for the children. They moved on with their lives and realized that they had been brainwashed and Realized like just everything that they had been heaven. Yeah yes but during the whole trial older was like a faction of the children that were so like coming to his defense because they don't know yeah so but even the wife but even now she's like now she knows yeah. Yeah good so I got this all off of wikipedia. and then there was an article by delaney are bartlett on medium dot com called marcus wesson the vampire king fresno and then another article at true crime bugs spot dot com vampire park What's the vampire part. Because he thought it was a vampire. Oh he he's really thought that yeah he as though he's not like drinking people's blood though in the article some the couple of things that i read i heard there was something But the articles that. I read in a way that so i didn't i didn't want it was already gruesome and the other stuff is enough so it's disgusting. Yeah thanks dana. Thank you dana. You can now tip us because now we are scarred. From that story this icing. Yeah but. I don't think i've ever heard that one so i would not find dana for that. I know what you did. "I don't know if i mentioned that we have all the dogs in here. They're doing so good they're behaving. Go ahead. I'm sorry so just going to go straight into that. Horrific fateful day of march twelve two thousand and four and fresno california low that recent. Yeah it's recent oh so. The police had been called to what they thought was a domestic child custody dispute having absolutely no clue as to how that was going to be unleashed that day they were outside of what would come to be known. As the western family compound. There was a group of family outside of the house. Disputing with a group inside of the house so it was like two large factions of this family. The fact that it's called the compound means that there's a lot. I am assuming when i read that compound. It's not it wasn't a very big. It was like a old office lake converted into a living space but it wasn't very big It wasn't very big if you look at the pictures compound because of the subject matter probably okay so anyways there's this heated heated dispute going on between these two the people inside and the people outside and police are called night. Oh no fit was from the neighbors or if it was from the family that called the police but it was over children. They were being denied. The there was two women who had brought a large group with them who had come to get their children To seven year old boys that were inside the house and they were being denied their children and they don't live there at no at this point. What the hell yeah. It's like a call. Yeah that's about on All right so at the center of all this is fifty seven year old. Marcus wesson cuts an intimidating large figure with lengthy tangle of grain dreadlocks. He's just he's they said he was like five nine. Which isn't that's not very super tall to me. But he was also very hefty. If you see picture of him he does look very intimidating to me. What's his name. Listen marcus wesson marcus. And pulling him up he's also the uncle to the women demanding their children and he's the father of said children wake our house what he's the uncle to the girls that are asking for their children and he'll love father two children now. Yes so that if that gives you any clue of where we're heading if this gives you any clue of what kind of person we're dealing with just gonna show you all right now. Despite all the chaos and the fact that he looks on timid eating yeah in contrast to the panic in these women lake that are trying to express to these cops like the urgency of getting their children..

When we're talking about what people envision as monsters they usually don't turn out to be actual shit. I always do. I always say to you. I am not afraid of the paranormal stuff. I am afraid. I'm more afraid if you tell you when you told me you saw shadow man. I panicked more. Like because i kept saying like a real real man or or like a ghost man. This had you said a ghost man. Wesson was sentenced to death for the murder of his nine children. He raised them in a cult taught them to worship him and forced his underage daughters into sex reporter. Unleashes afyon was one of the first to interview police who discovered the remains of marcus's children. She couldn't help but involve herself in the grisly. Saga alicia knew that marcus's surviving victims. Were in trouble. Following his arrest they had endured unimaginable trauma. After the murders marcus's sons. Were still calling him a great father. It took a long time for them to understand who he really was. But alicia was more concerned with the girls and women that were left behind. She interviewed elisabeth. Marcus's first and only legal wife. She was inside the house during the march twelfth killings and was wracked with guilt that she couldn't save her children and grandchildren. Elizabeth had been tormented for decades. When she married marcus who was an adult at the time she was only fifteen years old. Marcus already fathered a son with her mother when she got pregnant with her. First child from the ages of fourteen to twenty six. Elizabeth carried eleven of marcus's children. The rest of her family blamed her for the murders. She was reduced to sleeping in her car at night until alicia invited elizabeth to live with her alicia knew. It was a cardinal sin in journalism to involve herself in the story. But she couldn't just back away. She wanted to save the other survivors to she eventually invited to of marcus's other daughters gypsy and kiani to live with her and elizabeth kiani in particular still struggled to understand the depths of her father's sickness during the trial. Kiani stunned the courtroom by saying there was nothing wrong with the father. Having sex with his daughters she used marcus's term loving when describing her own melih station. Eletion knew that kiani. Gypsy and elizabeth couldn't be held responsible for their beliefs. Marcus had brainwashed. His family into believing that he was a literal god. His children acted against their own self interest. Purely out of fear. It took years of deprogramming and therapy for the victims to shed marcus's propaganda. Eventually marcus's children were able to accept the reality of what had happened. Those who protected him when he was arrested. Finally denounced him for the horrendous. Abuser that he was the women alicia took into her home. Were also able to rebuild their identities by september. Two thousand nine. Elizabeth was fifty years old and finally filing divorce papers against her husband. Although she still mourned her loss children she learned to stay strong for the family. She still had left her daughters gypsy and kiani went on to have children of their own with new men. Gypsy named her daughter alicia after her. Rescuer marcus now. Wesson was sentenced to death for the shooting of his nine children. Welcome to today in true crime a spotify original from podcast due to the graphic nature of these crimes listener discretion is advised. This episode includes depictions and discussions of violence murder incest and sexual abuse toward children that some people may find offensive with vise extreme caution for children under thirteen. Today were covering the day marcus. Wesson was sentenced to death. Let's go back to the fresno county superior court in california on june twenty-seventh two thousand five. America had its eye on chief. Deputy district attorney lisa gamal. The case she was arguing was one of the deadliest. Mass shootings in fresno's history. But the killings were only the frightening climax to a vast and disturbing family saga. Though the crimes were decades in the making the i caught the public's attention on march twelfth two thousand four that afternoon to women stood outside a small fresno home demanding that their children who they claimed were being held captive were returned to them concern. Neighbors eventually called the police standing between them and blocking the doorway when authorities arrived was three hundred. Pound marcus wesson. Marcus was cooperative and calm. Even as the situation grew ugly as officer e loyola's guerrino tried to make sense of the. The two women warned that the people inside the home had a gun and plan to harm their children. Detectives called in a swat team and negotiator to de escalate. The situation that was when marcus announced he was going to say goodbye to the children. He disappeared inside the house and shut the door. S guerrino and the other officers were unprepared for the situation and had no warrant to andrew. The house they waited outside for the swat team. The only suspicious sound they heard from inside was an infant crying but a neighbor said that at three thirty. She heard gunshots from inside westerns home. One of the mothers outside the house screamed for her children. Marcus emerged a few minutes later. His shirt and pants covered in blood. S go rhino. Drew his weapon and charged into the house calling for the children to come out when he yanked the door open to a back room. He found a nightmarish scene. That would haunt him for the rest of his life. Nine bodies were piled on top of each other. Most of them children. They were laid from youngest to oldest each had been killed with a single bullet through the i. The body on top was twenty five year old. Sabrina a twenty. Two caliber pistol was tucked under her arm. S carino's fellow officers had to pull him outside the room screaming. Meanwhile marcus calmly knelt on the ground instructing police to use three handcuffs to accommodate his massive wrists a year later. Marcus lawyer told the jury. He didn't deny the darkest elements of the story. The two eldest victims. Sabrina and seventeen year old. Lisa were marcus's daughters. The seven others the oldest being nine and the youngest only thirteen months old. Were also his children. Marcus wesson had raped and impregnated his own underage daughters and nieces public defender. Ralph torres claimed that marcus was a monster. but he wasn't directly responsible for the deaths. Sabrina had been the killer executing the children her younger sister and then herself the district attorney's office on the other hand believed that marcus should still be held responsible for every death that day. She told the jury hell. Marcus raised his children in his own personal cult. He told the kids. That jesus christ was a literal vampire and that marcus himself was god and god was to be feared he savagely beat his family for any perceived slight to keep them in line. He sent his sons away when they turned eighteen when the daughters turned thirteen he wanted them to himself in a bedroom ceremony. Marcus told the family that nothing could ever separate them. It was better to die than to let police or child welfare. Tear them apart. He repeatedly asked his kids if they were ready to die for him. It might be impossible to know if marcus was the one who eventually pulled the trigger. That awful day. But lisa good moignan believed that the years of manipulation brainwashing and abuse led to those nine deaths. The jury agreed they found marcus. Wesson guilty of nine first degree murders. Along with fourteen counts of rape and molestation. He was sentenced to death. Plus one hundred. Two years in prison. As guards led away. Fifty eight-year-old marcus. His surviving family was left deeply divided. While some breathed a sigh of relief others.

"Him lead. Yes yes wow. We're really getting away from story because I just. I just because prisoners ship. Oh no what are the prison dicks fucking. Nope you need a horse. Exactly you need a horse or song. There's plenty horses around here. Big Is this round of this will make plants bigger than that. Okay then was Charlie Ward Cup. That's about like that. That is giant. This one right here the Super Cup. That's big enough this about seven inches around if you believe that. Okay so moving on now. Moving out now for most of the members of Marcus's family. This way of life was all that they had ever known but two of his Nieces Ruby Ortis and Safina. Solorio WANTED OUT OKAY. But their sister. Rosa solorio remained loyal to Marcus. Marcus eventually agreed that they could go but only if they left their children. Jonathan and Aviv behind home. Desperate to escape the two agreed and got the hill out Yup but as they adjusted to the world outside of Marcus's tight control. They started to understand that what he did to them. What he was still doing to the rest of the family was abusive. See I don't know anything different. So on March twelfth two thousand and four well no one said he was the smartest Jesus in the world. Dude let them go. They're going to figure out that is abusive and call the law. Okay well I'll march twelfth two thousand and four. They gathered several relatives for support and they went back to the Western home against rescued their children. Who are both now seven years old? None of this would have happened if those police would have went inside. None of it knowing nothing would have happened. No there'd be like seemed okay to us. The kids would have been alive really. Do you think away. Oh you talking about the the policeman at the beginning. Yeah Okay yes I agree. None of this would've happened. Yes but it seems like this is too awfully case from ever comes to law enforcement and stuff like that off but I do feel an hour and a half of saying goodbyes. Just a little too much. It should never happen. That's the thing like you don't wait at a person's door for an hour and a half in half while you're there to check on the king kids. Oh okay. Well that's when the shouting match broke out. Marcus remained calm but refused to let ruby or Safina come inside the house to get their children. The women of the household shouted at Them Calling Them Judas horse and bitches and commanding them to bow down to your master Jesus as for Ruby in so fina. They knew they had to get their children out of the house immediately. They were fully aware of the suicide pact. That the family had made yet when the police arrive? They ignored the women's pleased that he was going to hurt the children and they also ignored one of Marcus's son telling them that his father owned a gun. First off the is the did you just far now I did. I don't know I saw you. That is euphoric you did for I. His grandkids are they not. Who's crank it? Marcus yeah okay. We'll some a lot. Almost all of them are nieces daughters and children because remember he had sex. He was having babies by all the nieces and delivers exactly some of grandkids boiled. They would also be his children. He would be grain debt that is also true he would be Granddad and Dan. He's actually. Wow Yeah that's what I'm saying like those were light did the did they not tell the the police that that. Like on the child of Marcus. He has macho. I don't think they went through all of that but still yet. I don't care that they didn't go through all that they have listened to what those people were telling them exactly anyway. So the warnings want work considered enough evidence of a threat to the children's safety for them to force entry to the house bullshit and when the shots rang out. The police said they didn't hear them back. Although many other neighbors did so who you think telling the truth. I don't think so Publi neighbors or till I'm pretty sure if you're standing right outside the door you would hear gunshot even with a silencer. Exactly and I don't think Marcus had a silencer. The case was considered the worst mass murder in Fresno history and the officers who encountered the bloody pile of children's bodies were so traumatized that of course they had to seek counseling. The first on children killed when Marcus Wesson appear to stand trial a year? Later he was different manner entirely. The man who once ruled over. His family like a tyrant wasn't shackles. Once he was a fucking large intimidating man but now without a horrible of women to cater to his every whim he dropped half his weight his dreadlocks. Once were passed US WASTE. Now they were cut to Xeres. He was charged with nine counts of first degree. Murder and fourteen counts of molestation and rape as members of his family testified. Many of whom were still very loyal to the jury came to learn of the horrors. Marcus had impeded on his family. Marcus defense was to claim the heating kill. Anyone can kill anyone that Sabrina had absolutely pulled the trigger murdering the children and then herself the evidence was inconclusive. There were no prints on the gun. But guess what Sabrina. Dna was her body was on top of all the others and the murder weapon. A twenty two Ruger M K to was found underneath. Or how would it be underneath her? She shot herself however it's not known if she lay where she failed or if she was placed. There almost just say. I'm just go along with him here. This is a third party here. I'M GONNA say did She replaced their well. That's brilliant and the same could be said about the gun. The gunshot wound to in. Her head was inconclusive as well. I don't see a woman shooting all those children in the eye anyway. The gunshot wound in. Her head was inconclusive. As well while consistent with a self inflicted wound a shot at close range couldn't be ruled out either and I'm saying he had a fucking hour and a half. So how many gunshots were there? Quite a mini in the police sitting here any bull shit. Ruby and Safina's testimony show that Marcus had complete control over the family and the he had commanded them to commit this at remember all this time they were supposed to suicide. Yeah I feel like maybe not suicide but maybe I'm shoot all Yuma fuck masks. Yes just I you know if the police ever tried to interfere but if he had Sabrina now some remember were very oil. If having Sabrina Kill the children then herself would fit with this pattern of having a woman. Do the hard work. Because he's a shitty ass while he walks away on the other ham family now laters usually kill their families then attempt to blame the crime the WHO mother in the end. It didn't matter to the jury who actually pulled the trigger. Thank give a Shit Marcus. Wesson was found guilty on all counts and on June. Twenty seven. Two Thousand and five. He was sentenced to a hundred and two years for the rape and molestation charges just for the and molestation for the murder of his children and grandchildren. He received the. I'm not GONNA say that. Say The damn death penalty the DP. He was sent to San Quentin prison. Loose which is the nation's largest death-row there. Guess what he was in company of such infamous murderers as Rodney Alcala. The dating name killer Charles in you got. We did a podcast on that. Your member. Richard Davidson Scott Peterson. Who I think we all know emaar then. California Governor Gavin newsom signed Moratorium on the death penalty sparing Marcus Westerns life. Because you know he bear because he felt so bad and spared. All these kids live. You wouldn't have gotten killed. No way still been death. I know but thankfully he will never be eligible for parole. He got tough imprisoned because now not on death row because guess what I would think I would rather him be in regular prison. You know why okay. Yes yes after this. But I'm saying he was on death row in you know what I would rather the death throes be in regular population you know why because they give the because on death row. Are they not in a single sale? They have their own sale to their self correct and they don't have to see the other. They are in the silver twenty three hours a day. I think so men are they getting asked for. When are they didn't beat the hell up there? Not because they're protected. And you know what screw that ship? But Elizabeth and the surviving children are now grown and they have come to see how brainwashed they had been and how delusional psychotic enor- cystic narcissistic drew. Marcus was.

Well anyways I think that we're going to go hit and jump on into these stories. Well you go first. It's Tom because okay. Well mine is all Marcus West. Alka Nath Road. I'm still horses to take. I'm going to have to take a drink of course because my throat so Gupta I heard comes good for your throat. But I'm not trying wildwood anybody. He'd be no that that's what I was told all right. I'm GONNA DO Marcus Wesson. And he's known as the Vampire King of Fresno the date March twelfth. Two thousand four this. He looks a mess picture. This officers are called to a scene. A West Hammond Avenue in Fresno California where a heated argument over custody breaking out. Once they're officer speak to Ruby Ortis and SOFINA Solorio along with some family members who are with them. They are worried to the point of panic. Claiming their children are being held captive inside the rundown office building. They are adamant that the man inside their uncle Marcus Wesson. It's going to hurt their children. So the police knock on the door to speak to Wesson and try to resolve the issue. A titanic which means a big motherfucker of a man with grain dreadlocks down to his waist. Nappy answers the door. How much you weigh fo o about wandered about the bat right? Turn not a follower what he say whenever they answered the door. Well you do miss. He was calm and cooperative. He agreed to turn over the children but he wants to tell him goodbye. I So we asked the officers to wait right there. White Rot there. Let me go us on Google car and closed the door. Nope well the neighbors later. Say that they heard gunshots. But but but the police deny hearing anything or whatever warrants without a warrant or any indication that there's a safety issue. The police don't have the authority to enter the Western House. So they wait however let me tell you they wait for nearly an hour and a fucking half. I think so. I don't care if I hear anything. It don't take an hour and a half to say Gerber no give. He was taking okay. They came to take the children. They came there and check out because people were frantic that he was going to hurt that. You Okay and they go and not to take children there. They were there to check on it. Okay take children or whatever but they not on the door. He answers looking like a fucking mess with dreadlocks down. Conway's loot like he's on crack right as a I'll turn or let me go by and then shut the door. They're like okay less. He can't go back an hour and a half later. They really that makes no sense. Some police officers are stupid whenever they're in training and have to endure the whole tasers test. I think it does something to their brain. Oh so I think so. Okay at least these author because we're tired after nearly an hour and a half full. Wesson walks out the front door but his clothes were covered in blood as he surrenders to the arresting officers. Other officers rush inside the House Am I. I think if it was an hour and a half now definitely you just hope. I'm maybe the Dory I don't care if I would have gotten if you would have gotten in any trouble. They love to make up stuff like some love to make up things about what happens in order for them to search a car or go into a household but yeah something about police insertion a call. This we'd way this what you always talkin. Oh but yeah this time. They can't make up. I don't like this. I can't see they can't make up a fricken story for them to go in and search the Damn House and the neighbors they did he that they heard gunshot and -opoly that but the police didn't hear none whatever their full shit anyway inside despite the sunny afternoon they just kill them children. That's what they did. They killed them. The building is dark and silent against one wall. Several coffins are stacked up then. They enter a back room inside that back room. Covered in blood is a pile of bodies. M- the vessel in any horror. Movie You've learnt never enter evacuating some of which are children each had been shot through the APP but because the bodies were in such a tangle it took many hours before the police could even determine how many victims there were and it was several days before they were all identified. Once they were these were the victims. That were stacked one on top of each other..

"marcus wesson" Discussed on GSMC Weird News Podcast

"And welcome back to the GMC Weird News. PODCAST has now before the break. We were talking about strange unusual. End Weird cults now right before the break. We were talking about colts. They're actually still active in one way or another to this day. Now I wanNA talk about something. That kind of borders the line between Colt in just horrible fair warning. This is a lot so I just I just WANNA put it out there. This is a little bit much. It's Kinda gruesome in. Just just WANNA put that out there. So let's talk about the vampire king. Now I read about this while doing research urge for this podcast in mind blown that this was a thing and I've never heard of it before so this happened in two thousand four. At least the end of this was two thousand and four There was a man named Marcus Wesson fifty seven years old at the time and he believed that Jesus was a vampire and he kind of followed religion of Christianity. Christianity and Vampirism Vampirism Pampers Emperor of Vampirism. I'm not sure But he also thought the Times would be upon them and he had followers but also a lot out of his followers were his children and grandchildren. Now this was very incestuous. It's kind of hard to follow when it comes to that because there were followers followers were also family members because they I don't know he it's a little difficult so so first off he would control them by manipulation and physical abuse. He kept his his daughters and sons. I'm using air quotes. You can't see them but I am his daughters and son separate four. He was worried that they would grow romantic relationships with one another now what He. He did marry his daughters a long time ago. That was the first time I married his daughter like his actual daughter then as it kept going knowing his daughters to him were his future wives so he just kept marrying his daughters I think starting with his actual daughter like it's really messed up and he would come about to have fathered eighteen children through different women about five of whom were young girls. Now this is just this is a lot but I had to throw this in here it because I I'm mind blown that I had never heard of this guy before this is so horrific and I've never heard of it. Just what what. Anyway he wanted to move all the members to Washington and when he said that some some of them rebelled being members that were not family and family They rebelled against him and actually called the police. The police showed up and a man runs out covered in blood. That's him and then it. Just it goes Downhill Hill from there. he ends up killing nine of them When the police when when he found out the police were called and when they arrived nine of them were dead but at least the police were able to get him like this is the big thing is the police were able to get him and he was found guilty on nine counts of murder and several counts of sexual assault? And he's currently on death. Throw now this is a lot to unpack. This is a lot to unpack now. I wanted to throw him in here because he's not your traditional Colt Colt. When you're thinking like the Manson family or some of the ones we talked about earlier where it's large group of people from all over kind of worshipping being one person but it does technically fall into the Colt category? I guess you'd say because he he is. He was basically just controlling these people. And having these people believe that. You Know Christianity and Vampirism. Here ISM was the thing. Jesus Vampire and the in times were coming and all this in and I just feel so bad I feel so bad for anybody who was involved with this and I feel so bad for all of the children including the ones that did not make it and it was a lot of young uh-huh children because they were. It was incestuous so they were constantly having children with him at least the the wives or daughters I as he called them. We're constantly having children with him and it just became this big thing and I do. I do call that a Colt because a lot of colts are that that kind of way there the way that I actually skipped over a lot of colts in this podcast because they are very well known in a lot of them are Dr. You've got the one man leading the group. And he takes all the women as his wives and wants to father children with all the women and that's why it falls within the Colt Line category. I keep saying line but I mean category every time but but I just I looked over a lot of those and did not put a lot of those in here because there were so many that the same. The only reason that I'm putting the vampire king in here is because it's horrific just like the rest of them but I've never heard of him and I honestly think if I brought this up to people that I knew like hey. Have you ever heard about the vampire. King like in Colt fashion and he. They would not know what he is and I really thought it was interesting and we should bring to light that there are people like this out there. I mean there's terrible people out there but there's also great people you guys agree people and I care so much about everything saying that you do and you should always just come. Come come have a conversation with me on twitter or the facebook at GMC GMC underscore weird news. FACEBOOK is GMC. Weird News and I will have straight up conversations with you because you guys armies in people But but I did want to bring to light that this. This guy is a thing but at least he's on death row and Look into get executed. Which I'm very excited excited about like I mean that's house really terrible? Oh I'm so excited about an execution but This this guy was a horrific man and this wasn't even that long ago this was two thousand four. A lot of these were back in the seventies and the eighties. But this is two thousand and four and I just I just wanted to kind of bring to light that this was the thing and I. I'm still GONNA pass up a lot of our other colts that are very similar to this in and the way that there's the man who wants to have children with all the women that he calls his wife's if you ever meet him and he's got a million wives and he wanted to be one of I would just say stay away just high till you're but in the opposite direction because they're guys going to have to be a no-go that's a no from me like for real now. This has been in a little bit of a heavy sediment and we'll move onto some. I mean all colts are heavy. Let's just let's just put that out there. All of this is pretty terrible. But before before keep just like rambling about this empire King Guy I wanNA move on and take a quick break. Take a breather. But you take a breather and we. We'll come back and listen to listen and talk about some different cults. That are not like this one..

"They don't disclose and they don't get counseling day become re victimized because they live with the mentality. Ability of I._M.. Worthless I am garbage. The abuse made Marcus's wife daughters and nieces defenseless against his manipulations. He made them feel completely. Powerless over their bodies and minds marcus took advantage of the girls increasing vulnerability as they aged in nineteen ninety three his eldest niece so fina was seventeen that same year marcus was inspired to intensify his sexual abuse by David David Koresh and the branch Davidians courageous standoff with the Waco Texas police was given wide media coverage for over a month on April nineteenth nineteen ninety-three the fifty one day standoff at Mount Carmel ended ended in the deaths of seventy six people. A quarter of them were children. Most who saw the event of the news watched in horror 47-year-old Marcus Wesson watched in awe. He gathered his entire family to watch the standoff handoff live. The children were excited as they were not usually allowed to watch T._v.. Marcus told them David Koresh was a godly man and that the government shouldn't be interfering with his family. Marcus claimed he wanted wanted to have a large family like those waco he told his daughters it was a shame their mother Elizabeth was passed the age where she could bear children at the time Elizabeth was thirty three. She was definitely not menopausal but she had not given birth in seven years after having nine kids between the ages of fifteen to twenty six. It's possible marcus was using a contraceptive or that. They weren't having intercourse now that she was over thirty. Marcus gathered all girls in the household except for his life in a room. The nine girls ranged in age from seven to seventeen five of them were biological daughters. The other four were his nieces Marcus told the girls that men like David Koresh had large families because they wanted to lead as many children as possible to heaven Marcus wanted to have more babies so he could lead them all to paradise. If Elizabeth could no longer have his children his daughters and nieces would have to be her surrogates. It took some convincing but convincing was marcus specialty. He knew that putting all the girls on the spot at wants like this especially the younger ones would help his case. The pressure of a group can be a powerful persuasive tool as professor doctor Arthur Doberman wrote group pressure is enormously effective and producing social social conformity and nowheres the pressure to conform stronger than in small close-knit groups fitting in feels good and we pay an emotional price for the courage of our convictions one by one the girls.

"Marcus Wesson began his cultish family in nineteen seventy four when he was twenty seven his large incestuous family started when he impregnated his girlfriend's daughter fifteen year old Elizabeth Solorio by two thousand four Marcus had eighteen biological children and had adopted several others they were taught a corrupted form of Christianity with Marcus and Vampiric Jesus Christ at the center. The children were brainwashed isolated from society and physically and sexually abused as his family expanded Marcus became more unhinged in two thousand four relatives of his wife. It's called the police to attempt to rescue the abused children but before police could enter the House Marcus killed nine of his sons and daughters this week will focus on the early life of Marcus Wesson as well as the beginnings of the disturbing family he created in part to will broaden our focus to the increasing psychological and sexual abuse of the children in the vampire cult will learn how marcus brainwashed his children and how the police investigation uncovered his crimes. Marcus Wesson was born in Kansas City Kansas on August twenty second nineteen forty six. He was the eldest of four siblings. His Mother Carrie Wesson was was an avid member of the seventh day adventist church a Protestant Christian sect she brought Marcus and his siblings to church every Saturday without exception carry lead nightly prayer sessions with her children. She even wrote her her own kid friendly interpretations of the Bible to teach them she was very strict and regularly screamed at her children for hours if they misbehaved marcus father Ben Wesson was an abusive alcoholic he spent all of the family's is money on liquor and as a result the weapons for frequently victims when they couldn't make rent at night. Ben Got Drunk and was subject to wild mood swings Marcus's sister Cheryl later recalled her father getting an violent drunken fight with a stranger at a bar his neck was slashed by a knife he was brought home covered in blood and nearly died in front of her when he wasn't violent. Ben became extremely overly affectionate schnitt shell did not claim bed molested her but did say he would just hug and kiss all the time. You'd have to kind of run up. The stairs is something several of Marcus's childhood friends were assaulted by Ben. One friend Gregory bledsoe stated that when he was a teenager Ben Asked to perform a sexual act on him when Gregory said no ben offered the boy fifty dollars and he relented the memory caused gregory shame shame for years afterward on another occasion when Gregory was sleeping over at Marcus House he woke up to find ben trying to pull his pants down Gregory told Ben to leave and the man screamed away Gregory kept the incident to himself itself out of embarrassment and Ben didn't come onto him after that Marcus is unpredictable father and strict mother created a turbulent home life when he was young marcus was introverted and awkward in social situations and he made few friends other than his siblings and had a severe stutter Vanessa's going to take over on the psychology here and throughout the episode please note Vanessa is not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist but she has instead a lot of research for this show. Thanks Greg the abuse markets suffered at the hands of his parents likely contributed to his social trouble early in life Dr Frederick Wolverton the Director of a psychotherapy institute wrote most I speech defects are actually outward manifestations of childhood. Trauma Marcus's introversion made him seem uninterested in people for the most part but he was drawn to animals especially dogs once he thought his scrawny starving starving dog collapsed in the street he carried the dog home and was determined to revive it insisting he heard a heartbeat. Marcus gave the dog a bath and stayed up all night giving it milk by morning. The dog was up been moving around again. He saved its life. His interest in dogs wasn't altogether altruistic. However Gregory remembered him bringing a strange looking dog to class one day Marcus bread to neighborhood dogs because he was curious? Yes about what their offspring would look like in nineteen fifty six when Marcus was ten. The Western family moved to San Jose California as he grew up Marcus started to come out of his shell he joined the track team in high school all and was a star athlete. Most of his classmates and teachers recognized him as intelligent but he neglected his homework and did not have good grades in his teens. Marcus was also able to overcome his speech impediment. He started to talk to his. Classmates more they were surprised to discover the quiet boys temerity he had extremely strong opinions and held to them stubbornly. Even as a teenager Marcus formulated his own opinions on spiritual matters at odds with the seventh day adventist church he was raised in he proclaimed publicly that he believed in polygamy against Church doctrine. He told his friends on several occasions that he hoped to have multiple wives one day. Marcus dropped opt out of high school in his senior year in nineteen sixty six at the age of nineteen. He joined the U._S.. Army he trained as a medic and drove an ambulance. During the Vietnam War Two years later in Nineteen Sixty Gate Marcus was honorably discharged. He went back home to live with his parents and began attending community college in San Jose but while he was in Vietnam a lot had changed at home around the time marcus was discharged. Some cousins and his paternal grandmother moved to San Jose from Alabama. They fell on hard financial times and moved in with the lessons. The small home was very crowded. Marcus Father Ben now close to fifty fifty years old started to spend more and more time with his nephew eighteen year old Larry Morgan Larry was marcus cousin. The estranged son of Ben's brother raised by his and Marcus's grandmother after several months Ben Shocked doc the family by announcing that he and Larry were moving out together. Ben Left his wife of over twenty years for his nephew. The men bought a small house in San Jose Marcus mother cut off all contact with Ben and no one in the family saw him for years afterward. The story caused a scandal in the small neighborhood. The Western family were targets of malicious rumours at Church and social events which even made its way to Marcus's college campus after less than a year at the school he dropped out in part because of the constant gossip about him and his family the same year he returned to San Jose Twenty one year old Marcus Med thirty thirty four year old Rosemary Solorio through a friend soon the to started dating rosemary was married with six kids but separated from her husband. After Marcus dropped out of college he lived with her subsisting on welfare aftermarket moved in with Rosemary. He seemed content to scrape by without a job he showed no interest in working and refused to find employment anytime rosemary brought it up as a result Rosemary. The children and Marcus lived in precarious conditions Marcus stole what he needed sometimes bringing one of Rosemary's kids with him to distract security guards. He took total control over the household. He insisted the whole family switch to a vegetarian diet in accordance with his religious beliefs he was hard.

"While watching television news accounts of the siege, western told his children, this is how the world is attacking God's people. This man is just like me. He is making children for the Lord. That's what we should be doing making children for the Lord. If the police ever broke into the home he had taught the children what to do they would fight back. They would defend the family, they would protect their God. Anyone who disobeyed Wesson or talk to a person outside of the family was beaten even for misdeeds trivial has taken a teaspoon of peanut butter when the family went out the children walked in a single file line behind Wesson, all dressed in black robes. They were told to look at the ground and avoid making eye contact with anyone by the late nineties, the children of Marcus in Elizabeth, where teenagers and becoming young adults. Most were working often start. At McDonald's and later waitresses at the Radisson hotel in downtown Fresno with Marcus Wesson, of course, managing their money in two thousand the family bought a badly fire damaged historic two story, Tudor home built in nineteen thirty five that was near Fresno City College. It was sold by a lawyer. Frank Muda to Kiani Wesson, Sabrina Wesson, so FIA, Sola Rio, and ruby. Sanchez immune were called meeting with several young women and Wesson, who talked about the repairs. He thought were needed to make the home livable originally. Western said he wasn't related to the women later, he said that he was an uncle of two of them, Marcus wasn't wasn't listed on the title at the Cambridge avenue house. There were problems documented in an inches. Thick code enforcement file the city complained about the lack of progress in refurbishing the home, and that someone was living in an old shed behind the main house. The women handled the code enforcement complaints and city officials who saw western at the house believed that he was a workman in may of two thousand one unit sued the women for failing to pay him for the full price of the damaged home. He says that he noticed a relationship between western and the women once he saw one woman, sitting next to us in with her hand in his back pocket another time. He saw one give west kiss goodbye on the lips Byun also saw two coffins on the property, one contained betting. He says, and may have been being used as a crib Wesson had apparently bought seven to ten caskets from an antique store for between four hundred and five hundred dollars a piece he claimed to make furniture in December of two thousand two Marcus Wesson attempted to sell a manuscript about his life, titled in the night of the light for the dark to the New York publishing company vantage press. The company rejected it saying it didn't make sense. Meanwhile, code enforcement battles continued at city hall, and the family began dodging inspections of the home by saying that they were working in the bay area and couldn't arrange to be at the house inspectors also noticed their large school bus and a utility trailer parked in the driveway in July of two thousand three the city began issuing citations for illegal storage of the vehicles. Marcus Wesson was losing control, and his grip on some of his adult children soon began to weaken when nineteen year old daughter, gypsy was the first western girl to escape though. She did not report her father to the authorities, the legal and city battles over the house, soon evaporated when the family quickly sold the house realizing that they had dangerously attracted the attention of authorities and Marcus Wesson, risked exposure. But the western family, which now included several. More children didn't move far in September of two thousand three roses solo Rio purchased a new property near roading park. But the family ran into trouble again, with city authorities at their new Fresno home, authorities say the family violated city codes by living in the building, which was owned for commercial rather than residential. Use officials also said that the west converted school bus shouldn't be parked in a residential area. They were issued a citation and ordered to leave or obtain a special permit, to stay the deadline was March twelve two thousand four Wesson was now saying that he wished to relocate his daughters, and their children to Washington state, where west parents lived, but some family members had had enough when March twelve arrived Marcus wasn't nieces. And the police were called the officers ordered him out Fresno police believed that they were responding to what was described as a child custody issue during the course of the standoff Wesson, who first appeared cooperative to the police was permitted to step away. And go back into the house. Fresno police testified that they did not hear gunshots being fired shortly thereafter, though. Other witnesses presence at the standoff, testified that they did hear gunshots fired at the time. The police had no legal right to enter even after talking with the city attorney to family members burst out of the building shouting that wasn't had a gun, a swat team was called just as they arrived western stepped out of the house. They were forced to refer to him as Lord or master. The kids were raised in an abusive cult with western at its head telling his daughters that they were destined to be his wives. Meanwhile, Marcus Wesson continued to manage an add to his unorthodox collection of property in the nineteen nineties Wesson bought, two more boats, one was a decaying, sixty three foot tugboat where the family occasionally lived Wesson said he intended to fix up the boat and journey around the world with his children, extended family had no idea what Marcus was doing his brothers and sisters, even entrusted him to look after their children, Marcus, nieces and nephews while they went through their own struggles. Marcus took care to separate the girls from the boys worrying that his incestuous lust might transmit to the next generation. The boys stay. Didn't run down shack in the woods while the girls were hidden away on the boat when Marcus's daughters, or nieces reached age, seven, there would be another wedding ceremony. All five of these wives would go onto become pregnant with incestuous children by Marcus. He repeatedly told them God's people are becoming extinct. We need to preserve God's children. We need to have more children for the Lord to hide the incestuous relationships Wesson told the girls to tell relatives that they were artificially inseminated Wesson began to prepare the children for the apocalypse. If the time came are you ready? He would ask as they understood it detective say Wesson was asking whether they were ready to kill themselves and others. If the government tried to split up the family police officers, he taught them were demons coming to hurt them, Marcus Wesson, said that he was Christ and referred to. Law enforcement authorities as Satan, he was fascinated with Branch Davidian leader, David Koresh, a charismatic man with multiple wives who commanded nearly eighty Branch Davidians killed in nineteen ninety three when they're Waco, Texas compound exploded and fire.
