"Know can run. The football chicago needs chicago. Uses in the way he should be used which is as a rushing threat. David montgomery will benefit from that In the backfield defined digs doubled his reception. Total in two thousand twenty compared to two thousand nineteen with sixty four more receptive not only lead league reception for recorded. The six most receptions history. Marcus you think digs is going to step up. Continue to play at this level or do you see in stepping back to what we saw at the vikings in two thousand nineteen. Step up for one option. And josh allen is on north sin and listen. They bowl understands the offense coordinator for the buffalo bills. How devastating step on the exists. Still opposing defenses and listen every week we were on. Nfl live waiting for somebody to figure out. How in the hell were they going to stop. Sniff on from wrecking the game. And guess what they couldn't and they don't do this either they'll fun digs stepping up once again and buffalo will be right there in the empire and to go play in the super bowl out of the. Afc bills know quarterback saw a larger increase until a qbr than josh allen. Last season improving his ratings over thirty points. Unprecedented went from ranking twenty. Four in total. Qbr in two thousand nineteen to ranking third this past season. We'll talk about allen will bit nina. You expect him to step up and play at the mvp level again So laura this is my first step down to me. I guess it's our only step back. But i wanna be clear. I'm not hating. I still think josh allen is going to be tremendous league. Took last season going from a below average quarterback in the nfl. I see seasons of league to being one of the five best quarterback survival. Mvp candidate was historically unprecedented. So for him to step up this year would mean. He's better than patrick mahomes like. That is the territory he is in right now. A lot of things went right for the bills in terms of health. And some of the conditions around him. I will say i am optimistic about him because they kept that offensive line. Those skilled players and most importantly brian able their offense coordinator wiped out for sure connor. So i still think josh allen is going to be a tremendous quarterback. I just don't think it's realistic to expect him to improve this year. Okay i'm with the k. i i had. I had to hear you because like he already he. He's shown that he can be lied. But to your point like. I don't expect josh allen to be the best quarterback in the nfl. Next year. but i do expect them to be an mvp conversation once again. I think once you unlock that ability to know that you can dominate in the nfl especially for quarterback and you keep that offense coordinator intact and you have your weapons coming back and there's full buy in from. Your friends is an organization the type of confidence there. Josh allen is step on the field with this year. we'll be more than he did last year. It'll be a tougher road though. Because i want to remind everybody. The new england patriots will not go silently into the night this year in this. Visit the miami dolphins based on what you're talking about. All the does at the quarterback spot could legitimately ball this year because their defense we look they gotta give zabi and our situation fixed and get his contract. You should be the highest paid cornerback. But that's another day and then the jets like the jets young. I don't expect them to have a lot of success. But you can't them lightly. I expect josh allen. The play great. It'll just be a tough for role than he had last year. Well it was remarkable. The chemistry that josh allen is defined digs created. because it wasn't a traditional off-season goes yeah right to be together but yet we still love each other so much. I mean that was really the they actually created their chemistry over playing video games together and having a big competition back and forth to each other. But when you think about david you mentioned. I think it's incredibly important. Everyone thought he was going to get a head coaching job somewhere else. They were able to hold onto their. How much do you worry about. Defenses adjusting to what debut did in what are some things offensively scheme lies that he could do to maybe counteract that on his in well. There's not much you can do in terms of adjustments to a quarterback josh allen who has an inferno arm and he's a threat to run the ball and has become accurate and then a wide receiver like stefan digs. You can shred both men and zone carre as as well as the rest of the group as well but what you can do defensively and you'd see some groups do this is try to compel buffalo to run the ball drop into too high and basically challenged them to do that because he'd rather give up those four six yard. Carey's then had a josh allen shred. You downfield i think for debacle. It's not about running the ball more just about having that as a change which was something that was missing in the afc championship all right. Let's do one more thing before we go guys. Josh allen had a little bit huck moment here with the i pit i. Pit is can sometimes be difficult. There he is. He's gonna throw out the first pitch. Toronto blue jays jersey on all right one two three got the lead kicked going up. Are you know what it wasn't that bad. Oh yeah it was a little outside. Hit the ground. He bounced it down to anybody. Oh no oh you guys are doing this me i yeah. Where's the video on mine. Yeah your pants. Ask this before. I knew it. I know i. I know we got this. Is adrian words out scheme. Check out my podcast. "Goes out to them You know definitely keep them in prayers but One thing if i mean if the playoffs or extended and everything why can't we You know get bowls you know. They expanded to twelve teams or whatever. Just take the top six goals and say okay here we go or have they can format and to get the bowl still in it so the players don't lay out you know and it doesn't mean anything anymore and keep the traditional bowls still alive and my next question and what i'm gonna do. I'm gonna ask this. Because i think every college fan will probably appreciate me asking. Why in the world. Can't they have the national championship game on a friday night. They did the semi finals game. This past year families on the we got cova going on but besides covert that families and friends can get together greg. I think you're right monday. Night is a terrible for this game. I i think that has now been proven. It is having been to all these games and this game can the game. This year did not end till almost midnight on the east coast. That is too late on a i normal work night school night and you know why is the super bowl. The most watched sporting event every single year because it starts at six thirty at night on a sunday. it's over by nine thirty And i just. I think college football has it all wrong. They really don't care what i think and again. I'm i worked for the company. That does the game. So i well. Yeah you know. I realize i mean the tv ratings would be out this guy. I mean it'd be way up right and you know. I'm a big clemson. Tigers fan like told people at work. My boss i said look clemson the national championship game. I will be late coming. You know. I mean i said because i'm only enjoy it and i think every college fan if they're a buckeye fan or whoever you know crimson tide whatever would appreciate it. That game played some time. And i i wish you know somehow to college fans could all get together and say. Let's change this now. I know it's all about the tv. You know about espn and whatever but if we can have it on a friday night you wouldn't miss a the nfl. Wild card games on. Saturday is a great point. You just made and that's really been as you probably have heard one of my biggest complaint. Thank you for the call. Yeah it just. You have the game on monday night. You have wild card game. Saturday and sunday or and this year maybe a little bit different because the nfl season starting later but it. It's hard for college football to get center stage. Carson Wentz Says Goodbye To Philadelphia Eagles, Welcomes Fresh Start With Indianapolis Colts

"Carson. Wentz officially introduced as a colts. Now that we're day into the new league year and went hoping for world. Class makeover in indy with frank reich. Who made a big bet on wins putting his career on the line bringing the quarterback. They were an excellent match before the colts. Well built around wins. So here's what went said today about his fresh start. You know you gotta just be intentional. One by one build those relationships and like you said respect is earned not giving so. I look forward to earning a lot of guys respect and You know i i. I'm confident that that will happen. Go trike. I'll never forget when i was working out in fargo north dakota before the draft. It was an instant that we just had this connection on how we see the game and how he challenge each other and ultimately make each other better super excited about getting to work with him again. Because i have the utmost respect for the man that he is also. The coach. study is as well guys here with you for the next hour as well as schefty didn't orlowski. Marcus spears matt miller will join us for a little draft talk later but let's get back to what we just heard from. Carson wentz introduced today. Dan alaska simply is this. How does he move. Forward was carson wentz's success this year. We'll start off the field. There are more questions than answers about him right now. So how is it going to turn the bad of last year into the good this year. What did you learn when it comes to relationships. How are you going to be better at relationships. How are you going to be better at leadership. How are you going to be better at handling the adversity off the field. I mean he just talked about earning the respect of his teammates and in the locker room. Think about this. He can go into that locker right now. This is what i would do if i was him. Sit down with those new coach teammates. How did philip rivers do it. Filled came from a different team and he came down year. What did he do. Endeared himself to you guys how did he earned your respect. What's what's stuff that that clicked with you guys because the reality is you don't have to sit here and say that you've got to be somebody or not. You can still be the genuine authentic person that you are but the reality is you should be ever changing. You should be ever-growing. And i liked the fact that he said. I've got to be intentional because the truth is this when september comes. No one cares about your excuses. Excuses or explanations you've got to figure out in the next five months in the midst of unique off season again how to earn. How do prove to your teammates that you're the guy proved to your teammates that you will take over this locker room and become part of it. That's his biggest challenge and once he realizes that off the field is equally if not more important on the field. That's when he can start to rebuild his career. Yeah no doubt. I think self awareness as well like the indianapolis colts need carson wentz to come and fix them as a football team he needs to. They need him to come. Add to what they already have going already building. And there's a amount of pressure on carson winston. He never felt in philly because of the situation. And he walks into. And they are frank reich as well like frank reich has attached is job to carson wentz internally him around and making him the quarterback that that can get team to where they think they can go but india set. They have a good offense around. Obviously they make moves at tackle. They have a good running back. Good receivers a defense that at the top level of the nfl last year. so carson winston is not coming into a bad situation this is a rehab for carson wins. This is not a rehab for the indianapolis colts. He needs to be aware aware of that as well. And look i wish and hope that carson wentz turns this thing around and has a lot of success. I'm just going to sit back and see how he handles the pressure. Because now you're on a playoff team. You're around got dairies. Linda put it out there right here to win. Don't care about what you have to say don't care about your past that these that transpired pencil tired about if you're going to come play for the indianapolis colts come to win. So there's a lot on the line of course a wins but there's also a lot on the line for the indianapolis colts football team as far as where they wanna go and a hell of a lot of framed right for sticking his neck out there to say i'm the guy that can get the carson that we saw in twenty seventeen. And if he is. The indianapolis colts are absolutely a legit super bowl contender.

Big money brings bigger expectations for Dak

"You finally needed me. Dan Orlovsky, the great analyst for the Mothership. NFL Live continues daily throughout the entire off season at four Eastern on ESPN, Catch Dan with Adam Schefter. Marcus Spears, meaning times Laura Rutledge, four. P. M. Eastern daily on ESPN. Dan. Thanks for joining us. Did the Cowboys have a great day? Yesterday? The Cowboys did not Jack Prescott did Jack press cop Doc Prescott. His family did. But this is a big time swing and miss for the Cowboys. I think that they took a calculated risk. You know, they tried to be patient and patient and patient and didn't want to do something like the Rams and the Eagles did. But man, that is a ton of money to give that Prescott What should the expectation Level B for cowboy fans this year? This year. It Luis, You're stuck in second round of the playoffs. Sniffing your NFC championship game, You know, like here's Here's. This is what my comment is with this, and it's the old saying too much is given much is expected. This is why I was very cautious of giving Dak Prescott a ton of money or second most quarterback money. It's going to impact your football team and we can't snow sit here and say, Well, he's really good. But the expectation status, saying the expectations have to be elevated. Not only individually Hey, what are left tackles out. We still have to win the game on the road against the New York Jets because they stink or when we don't have a Mark Cooper. We still got to play good at the position because you're supposed to be And a difference maker. When it comes to the finances. It's a bad division. I still have to wait to see what happens in Washington at the quarterback spot. If they got a quarterback that I thought was a good player arrived. Patrick I think that I would favor them to win the division because I think Dallas still has issues defensively Offensive

What's the latest on Deshaun Watson situation with Houston Texans?

"Swaggie. Do we have six. More weeks of a standoff between watson and the texans listen gina texas keep. They don't want to acknowledge that today. I'm growled say this going to be six weeks. They don't want to acknowledge the keep telling them is going to design this groundhog for the people that in the back secondly look he goes on behind if they keep playing games but they don't won't acknowledge it. Winter is here. Houston texans the ground. Winter is ear. You better prepare yourself for the spring winter of his discontent and a nice job by ryan stale off. I'm not really a groundhog. I'm not sure where we're find groundhog. Full-body emojis i liked it. So let's come to you. What is let's get some. What is the latest on shawn watson. Here it's been quiet for the last twelve hours. It makes me nervous. Houston houston doesn't want to trade him right. I mean the idea. Is that the the. Sean doesn't want to be there anymore. And he's made that clear and and that's where we are but houston not telling people when they call. Oh yeah this'll be the price they're telling people we don't want to trade him. Now the question becomes will they be forced to trade him and the way that he would force them to do that is to show them and prove to them that he's willing to sit out not just training camp but actual games they can certainly find him for missing training camp days and obviously for actual games but until they're convinced he doesn't he won't play for them then they're not inclined to move off of their position so it could be a while i i agree. I think we're looking at least six more weeks of this particular winter. Punxsutawney phil is not looking kindly upon houston right now. Jeff saturday what do you think of all this. We see the beginning of the quarterback carousel with the big trade over the weekend. How does that inform. What you think will happen with watson what i saw. What happened with jared goff in matthew stafford thought what can happen for watson like are you going to trade away. Ten players some. How could you quantify how important and valuable. This guy is mean you talking about. Tunsil tackle got multiple pigs. Jamal adams multiple right. You're talking about khalil mack. There's so much involved in this trade type scenario for a player of his caliber. It's just mind boggling to me. I don't even understand how you could put it in one offer to trade. If you're the texans of course you're not feeling any calls. I would turn my phone. I don't want anybody calling me to even tip me because you're committing professional suicide if he goes somewhere in wins championships. Everybody in the business is gonna look at you go. How could you do something that dumb. You have one of the premier players in the nfl in his early twenties and he has shown you what type of leader he is. Kate let bill. And i'm just telling you whatever you gotta do. You better make him happy because he can't leave. And but marcus you made it clear and sean has made it clear from everything. Everyone tells us that he has made it clear that he not coming back. He's not returning their calls. So marcus spears. How does this play out. It plays out with the show and playing for another team. Like i like jeff's ms them. I don't like the fact that he's being optimistic. Though the show watch the nada look houston has already read the savage this relationship. This is about the cell watson reconciling anymore. It's about getting out of there. And i get it. The houston takes a terrible situation because every year own initial told you about generational talent and you need to find a quarterback. And if you don't have a quarterback you can't win games but think about this for a second y'all some kind of way the houston texas alienated. The best thing that's happened to their franchise in history since ceja since ever and they figured out a way to alienate him he added man. it is beyond repair. Yup there are some soul-searching needs to be done with that for sure but in the interim they need to figure out where they're going on into their future.

"You a little story. I get calls every now and then from my father who always has some idea about something? I should do on the year he knows. Casa and he calls me today and the middle of taping. Segment and I just got off I. Take about a a get on the radio and I got a prep and not only that I have phone calls I gotta make after the radio and all kinds of stuff. That hurry up like I'll give you thirty seconds. Tell me Your cockamamie idea, right. But I kind of liked this one. So I'M GONNA share it. This is one I wonder if sometimes like. You know someone takes thirty shots on goal. One gets through and you're like, Damn I shouldn't let this one get through. But I kind of liked this idea I wonder what people think eighty eight. Say Espn Eight, eight, eight, seven to nine, three, seven, seven, six, he said, you know in terms of the plan what should the bucks do? What should the NBA do and how how could the NFL join them and what about Major League Baseball in NHL Hockey here's my father's idea. Ready. Everyone should stop playing sports altogether until Cowan Colin Kaepernick has a job in the NFL. He don't want anyone playing sports at all until cabinet has a job I'll tell you what it would work. It's It's not bad at all. But. The only thing I would say about that is while it would have symbolic value bringing the white power structure to its knees. And maybe in the NFL, they still need to be brought. into. The fold. But. In the NBA, at least, the owners seemed to be good faith partners right now with the players. The pressure really needs to be exerted on NFL owners but owners of all major team sports they're all billionaires and if you add NHL and league baseball now you're talking about over one hundred billionaires. They're only six hundred in the United States, not even counting the Canadian billionaires six hundred United States. You're up to almost fifteen percent. Over, fifteen percent of all the billionaires in the US actually got on board and really started to exert pressure things would change. A lot of our politics is about this right now. The people are upset about billionaires partly because they have too much power because they are too close to the levers of power in our government. Through. Campaign contributions and lobbying and dark money all this kind of stuff. Not to mention relationships will bring some of that to bear on the side of righteousness. The Max Kellerman show is brought to you by autozone get in the zone autozone. Mark from Saint Louis. You're on the Max Kellerman show. Hey how you doing Max warranty guys for a while and you Steven A. and I just kind of disagree with a little bit So of your point here I've been. Retired fire. Captain Engineer. Paramedic. And I just want to tell you that some of the stuff here is. Is is being like blown out of proportion about these policemen and like everybody's like Elmer fudd and we're going to just go out and hut black people I just WanNa tell you one thing before in my lifetime, I've seen two people shot one six feet from me. And A gazillion people t taste around while I'm trying to do ems calls. Okay. So you have to understand that I've been witnessing this stuff for a really really long time. So I just want you just you just gotTa, understand like this split-second decisions that these guys have to make I don't I don't mean to cut you off and I appreciate your point and also by the way to add to your point, there are lots of different law enforcement agencies in lots of different local police and in a country of three hundred, million people in as many police department says there are there will be some bad apples and sometimes you're right not even bad apples just poor decisions or maybe even good decisions that look bad out of context I appreciate that point. That's not really what this is about. They sometimes imperfect examples service flash points for cultural. And social justice movements. But really like, for example, right now, they want accountability police unions. The Blue Wall of silence police unions are very powerful. They lobby very effectively and they spend millions and millions of dollars resisting reform. So, people want accountability. But but I also agree with this to me police brutality is not and should not be the number one issue on people's minds at this moment, voting should be. With the attempt to to make it more difficult to vote right now. and. Also, in a larger sense terms of social justice, I would say. You know. The the the entire industrial prison complex in criminal justice reform. That to me is a much larger issue. Nevertheless, it's not the same kind of emotive issue as police brutality, and if your point is sometimes imperfect examples or used as flash points, that may be true. But I can tell you that there are also very good examples that are not caught and sometimes arcot. Casteel Castille was sorry philander casteel was brought up earlier by Marcus Spears that are very good examples. I always say, I'm going to get the calls and I don't get enough. My last week is coming up. Let me tell you that hiring can be a challenge. As quotable co-founder Gretchen hubner discovered Gretchen needed to hire a game artist for her Education Tech Company..

"All guests join us on the Shell Pennzoil. Performance Line. Is just. It's unbelievable. Just guessing. Apparently, some players were annoyed. That the bucks took action without any clear plan Lebron James among them. Lebron. James was one of the many players miffed with the bucks handling of the situation as well. Sources said Yahoo Sports Chris Haynes wrote to him in so many others it put them in a no win situation. We're just talking about Jordan and then also Lebron and Lebron shown I thought look if Lebron Ca Stephen was reporting on I take today that. Some players are feeling like he was talking down to them a little bit or maybe a little overly entitled I cut Lebron Some slack here. Lebron James since he was a teenager is the chosen one right ever all sycophants around him in everyone telling them how great he is all the time and yet did he wind up with a swollen head? I mean who wouldn't there's no way not to but how has he handled that compared to the way almost everyone who ever lived would have handled that has he been a good leader. He's been an exceptional leader has he brought people along with him childhood friends even and people he's met along the way. Yes. They pulled their weight. He did he did he didn't just drag along, but he gave him opportunity. Has led teams yes. He has. He made players around him. Better he has. Has He used his leverage to get some players paid around the league the answer's Yes. So. You cut them some slack. If he's a little full of himself, like Patrick Beverley guys on other teams are saying, Hey, whatever Lebron does we're GONNA. Do. Yeah Okay Lebron needs to do a little self reflection. Maybe check himself a little bit and be like all right look. Maybe I'm coming off his arrogant to some of the rank and file. Maybe, he has to know it's perfect but you got you got to Cut Lebron James Slack? Not only is he one of the greatest athletes of all time but what are the odds that one of the greatest athletes of all time would also have one of the winningest personalities in terms of being able to handle the pressure and perform? Of all time and by the way, conduct his business Lebron's almost never stepped in it. He's spoken truth to power stood up for what he thought was right. I heavily criticized him when he was quiet about China heavily criticized him. And I thought he deserves it and I still do and I understand you know freedom. For a against the repressive communist government is something that's important and he should comment on if he's making comments on social issues and political issues and yet it is not as near and dear to him, it's just not as proximate. So close to him. As other social issues, you would understand why maybe he wouldn't stand up for that or spend as much time on that issue as another one that hits closer to home nevertheless I I really criticized him. If you're a business owner, you have a lot.

"I get angry that sophisticated sports writers with advanced journalism degrees never identified their own conspicuous to me contradiction which follows. If the West has been so much better than the east for so long and it has the duration of Lebron's career and how winning the east over and over for eight straight years impressive. It doesn't make sense. Well, I hear we got Lebron James, teams cavs, he might not have even made it out of the West even. You know they would have made it out of the West more than once I hear what you're saying it's not a bad point but now think about it this way I championship appearance with with the against the Spurs. He had no other all star on the team and yet got to the got to the finals. That's impressive. His next appearance he with the heat got beaten by what I thought was an inferior team and he choked. Then, he won back to back finals and they lost to the spurs right then he goes to the cavs. Let's look what happened against the warriors that I championship that the warriors one. Lebron Second Best Player was matthew. Della Vedova he had neither Kyri nor Kevin love and he took them six games they beat and clearly would have beaten. The warriors had Kyri and Kevin love been available clearly then the next year. The warriors went seventy three games and Lebron does beat them. Then they added K. D.. At that point, you have no chance to win you Katie to a seventy three win team not ever is going to beat that team. So you can't hold that against Lebron here. Let's do it another way if you don't want to go to the kind of otherwise sophisticated writers, use all these finals, appearances you out of proportion. Look at Lebron's let's look at his PR which kind of is a good quick number that tells you about points, rebounds, and assists. A per possession basis efficiency. Twenties, you're an MVP candidate for his career. He's averaging twenty seven point five for his career. The Dude, let it be are one, two, three, four, five, six years in a row. Desirable destination for free agents like is that like as Miami is at times is no, it's not as good as that way but it's better than like the Knicks way which you just tried to be good but being competent forever or some other teams that are unlike first or second round treadmills forever because they never have a real difference making kind of player on their team. Sam hinkie realized the lottery balls may not fall my way. We may not identify the right guy tanking one season we're GONNA take three or four seasons we've got so many lottery balls that some of them are going to hit. It worked they had to generational talents on the team. To special towns and embiid and Simmons Franchise altering towns. I think. Adam silver saw that not that the process wasn't working he was scared it worked the process is working. There's going to be copycats. I can't have a league with three, four, five teams constantly tanking for two or three or four years. It's it goes to the integrity of the game and it's all. It's bad for TV ratings bad business. So I can do something right get. Hanky. Out of there. So they get hanky out of there but they brought him Colangelo Bryan Colangelo. Is that some kind of a joke at the time I told you it was a joke. colangelo comes in it's bigger disaster than you couldn't have imagined. Imagine a guy comes in where you know you could see if anyone smart could see it ahead of time, this is going to be a disaster and it's ten times worse than you could have even imagined. What does that remind me of? Anyway. Disaster. So they get rid of Colangelo and they bring in Elton brand. But. Elton brand is forced to keep a lot of Colangelo staff what sense does that make? It's idiotic. That's why the sixers find themselves in this predicament. That's why. You want to blame someone blame the owner of the sixers Josh Harris either got to stand up to Adam silver if he's telling you things that you don't think, right. Or. If you're GONNA do something don't half step. I don't think. Elton. Brands good GM. But certainly, he doesn't have a chance to be if he has to keep some of his predecessor who was a disaster staff. The Max Kellerman showing ESPN radio's brought to you by my computer career training for a better life cast in Virginia you're with Max Kellerman ESPN radio. Hey. What's going on Max how you doing? Great casts let me just tell everyone on this show. These are not social calls normally I would immediately hang up I want everyone to get right to their opinion. So we can get to lots of calls go ahead cast. So when you said, dame is. Probably the best player in the bubble I would kindly disagreed because with Luca as being. So young as he is from the jump has been consistent in my opinion even what is his age has to do with how good he is in the bubble though I mean, it's very impressive. You may say Lucas the most impressive player in the bubble when you consider his age but why does he being younger than dame make him better than dame? Dame need mccollum. Luca does not need porzingas. Oh He. Does actually actually. The the mavs had that game under control. Wasn't a foregone conclusion but they were winning the game they were the better team Porzingis gets ejected in game one and the Clippers GonNa. Run and that's the end of that clippers never looked back. He does need porzingus and he has a lot of other health but he also needs porzingas i. like look if you WanNa tell me doctors an amazing player. I agree if you want to say he's better at the same age than dame was doubt Damon this good when he was when he was launched his age. But at this moment who's been the better player in the Dayton is dropping off after he drops fifty dropping sixty and throw a show on that followed that up with forty in wins. And then place them into the playoffs. And beats the Lakers. Hitting shots for thirteen feet behind the dame has a better shooting percentage from ten feet behind the arc. Then Don does from the three point line. Think about that for a second. Great Dock. She's an MVP this year more than dame has been but in the bubble. It's Daimler Teddy in New York City around with Max. Kellerman. Max Thanks so much for taking the call I wanted to ask you something Utah You talked about yesterday, which is the final streak in the Bronson history. I respect Lebron for sure. But I think facing the history of somewhat embellished in large part due to the final streak..

Your harder to get through them to California the Limit Department. Kind of amazing. Yes. Sorry. Popular go ahead. quick aside. before we get to the load management concept but I, WanNa prepare everyone for the second coming of Olympics. I think, Melo's in our beast. has been biding its time. For when the heat picks up and if she gets the second round, he's GonNa burn the world done I think. May. Be Listening to say this I'll say this. And Thank you, S. G. that's quite enough of you but I'll say this. These idiots who called Mela washed can you believe that Raj? On National TV call Carmelo Anthony Washed. I was one of them I was I was wrong. You shame on you and anyone who said that. Rudy in Las Vegas. You're on your Kellerman. This is the Max Kellerman. Show. Matt Mack yet doctor he was talking about in Dallas I. Agree with you. Stephen was shaking his head. No this morning. He's wrong. You're right. Most of the time you are right but it's true while the teams the La Kings are in trouble learn capital. And by the way. Better like fainting all the time watching them all the time I love. To go off, they beat the Lakers I don't know. No. No, I listened. I'll say this I lived in La for six years I love la I root for the L. A. Teams I root for the Lakers everybody against the clippers to tell you the truth although not since I picked them because now I have a rooting interest since. Smart on TV and everything but but I I gotTa tell you when you enter the bubble, you're hoping, Hey, maybe this is a year where the one problem with the NBA which has playoffs best of seven. The nature of basketball is such that the best of seven series the team's going to win. And that you don't have the seem randomness injected into the postseason that you do in baseball were that whether it's not the case or football where it's also not the case. And you're kind of hoping that. This is what the bubble will do. These unusual circumstances. Maybe we got some upsets and we don't just we can't just predict the whole thing. Sure, enough the bucks lose their first game to the magic, the Lakers down one to Portland and looking bad the clippers are what lucky to be one with the mavs it's awesome. Have time to play this Brett Brown. Raj. Go for it. Let's do it. Here's the. sixers coach after. The sixers.

"By, the way I'm GonNa show you have things to do right now I'm gonNA prove to you. I'm to take some calls Matt in La you're on the Max Kellerman show bed. Mac First of all, we missed you in L. A.. Yes. Gave me Mac. Radio Max. And you've got me through Holly I've heard that I've heard that. Is, true you and cell is every day man you guys got me through college back and books work in the library so thank you, Matt. Just you are welcome. This is a very good introductory call Raj see how gratefully is go ahead. This Lakers blazers theory as the Lakers fan here in la always loved watching dame will it from afar Jews ridiculous. Love, to see him go off like this but hate, it has to be him against eliminated in six. You know we're not worried about that but all I can really think about is why does be this way? You know why can't we dame go against the clippers and those clowns that disrespected. The most really, I would rather. Than Than Dallas if I was the Lakers or Rather, play Portland in Dallas I think Portland can win I think think Portland has the best player in the bubble right now I think Dallas might be the best team in the bubble right now. Dowse can win the championship right now I'm just telling people that's a that that is absurdly Like for a team big to have that kind of talent. And Marcus Spears pointed it out earlier. Dodges six, seven, six, eight, Porzingas, seven three. Boban is like eight feet tall. How Tall Bob when Porzingas isn't your tallest guy can play. And then you have a finished Smith is a defense five positions and can shoot. I mentioned like the little guys in the back court who weren't defenders but can shoot like, Trey. Burke is an offensive player always has been and Steph curry is like he's like an all time great level shooter Seth Curry could shoot the lights out. Everyone. I just mentioned can shoot dodge take six, seventy, three's a game however many he's though he has like shooting thirty, one, thirty, two percent he's the only guy doesn't hit him a lot. Cleveland six, ten guards. Multiple.

"Drew drew brees. What a night for him markets? We're going to get back to him in just a moment. Take some calls about him. Stand the line. If you're on the line if you want to join call the show one eight eight eight say espn. That's that's one eight. Eight eight seven nine three seven seven six but for now I want your solution to the Cleveland browns. And in case you missed it you were living under a rock. But Freddie kitchen kitchen said he didn't care about his job and now he says he does. Cream hunts come out and said hey not everybody gave us one hundred ten percent and like Kareem Hunt. It's been on the team. For what like eight seconds and hasn't really even been that big of a part of the team but he's over there tattling on everybody. What are your thoughts on how they can get this thing? Fixed six listened there. There has to be so the one. I'm a common denominator Guy Right. Jimmy has LEM has been owner for the Cleveland Browns in this tumultuous emotionless run Twenty twenty took over the team. Twenty twenty twenty in a few weeks right coaches quarterbacks drafting and and look this is the first year I wanNA give John Dorsey credit the general manager for the Cleveland Browns for acquiring talent but also want to discredit him for Mehanna coach. That wasn't ready and I don't like you. You hit a record. Baker Mayfield stood on the table for kids. It was like I wanted this guy or whatever. How the hell do you get that kind of power as a guy that's won seven games and in NFL and like he was their number one pick in the draft but he was a rookie else? As you know have no juice like that right to make that type of decision. So here's what you do now. This is this is the I'm a U.. Marat Love Josh Josh. Josh Laura's US shoutouts Asia Mana bullheaded and they don't want to accept some times times when they've like delegated wrong power this is. This is one of those situations where John Dorsey has. The look in the mirror and say forty kittens wouldn't have got his role and what he was in was good for the Cleveland Browns but the head coaching role is not good for him right. I'm one of the upper management guys like I I. I'm going to go to. I'm going to go straight to the owner. You're talking about Jerry Jones. You're talking about general manager. All of that. I'm going to go straight down. Say what are your deficiencies there. Before I get today it goes. The is the head coach in in a good situation to do his job at a high level right now for all intents and purposes Freddie Kitchens was set up to sixty Georgia's Landry Odio Brooker Beckham and joke. Who even even with the injury one talented? I mean. Olivia Livio observe the talent that they have accumulated in Cleveland. You know how about the quarterback spot Baker Mayfield is going to be elite generational quarterback I. I just felt that way I hate. I hate saying that because it sounds like it's personal it's not evaluating football through my eyes. I could be a hundred percent wrong. I've been wrong about players before four hundred percent wrong. We two three years from now. Sandbag may feel is in the compensation for League. MVP that may be the case. I just don't see that right now. No and you've got to think that in order for us to get to that point if we were to get to that point. You've got to see different coach there. I wonder now I wonder now if Baker Baker Mayfield if no one was looking if he was just sitting there analyzing the whole thing and I'm sure he's done this because Baker a little bit. He's probably done this. Would he stand hand on the table for Freddie kitchens anymore and look Freddie was the guy that when Baker was kind of speaking too much which has been came out and said Oh no no. That's fine. Hi My quarterback. Did that no at that point. Freddie should've said No. We don't need to be doing that. We don't need to be talking too much. That sound you hear. Is Marcus slamming his head against the microphone. Because has what else can you do right now with this huge problem. It's mind boggling to me that this quick to ordain culture that we a an NFL. Now it could be me as I say that to you all the time. It could be my old school values of how you earn your position the League and on a team and how you continue to work to give yourself the ability to speak out right young players imaginary. Don't don't make decisions. They don't have enough juice to say. This should go this way or that should go. That way is just never existed in my experience and I'm based on all of the guys that I came up with you. Earn your right to stand in front of a team. That's all you're you're right to to to have conversations with front office fist people. You're you're right to have a direct land to the head coach. All of this stuff is earned and I know is different. When you draft a quarterback number one overall you want to give him some certain things things and make sure? He's in the situation where he feels like. He's a part of the process. But I've seen Sean Payton challenge drew brees even now Elliott. I've seen bill belichick and Tom Brady challenge each other even till now like your head coach when you're a rookie can't be your cheerleader. I wonder when this started to change a a little bit. Because it feels like an and look it feels like it started to change and it's happening with like one team. Although you do see more people speaking out maybe than they would have in the past. I think that's a theme. It's fine it's fine but there are codes. That don't need to be broken when you speaking out. Yeah Kareem Hunt. Don't say everybody wouldn't give one hundred ten percent saying I don't even know how you get that I don't even know how your brain allows you to get to that point publicly. Say No nothing doing it. Just put an indictment over one hundred people in your building. News let you in Allegra where everyday when Baker Mayfield go back to this when Baker Mayfield spoke on. Do Johnson's if if you win issue with us if you ain't you ain't doll. This is a contract situation like this is not. This has nothing to do with you. I would love to do just also the bill because he talented in the answer. Will Freddie Kitchens still be the head coach in Cleveland next no OK and here's my next question because I figured you'd say no because I don't know how you could say yes at this point despite any confidence that's been alluded to from the front office here. Is it still a good the job in and in asking that I want to know. Do we think that this team still has all this talent next year. Do they keep Odell Beckham Junior. Do they keep Jarvis. Landry very feels like Nick Chubb should be there. Obviously Baker is going to be there but that job only that good of a job if all those guys are still depends like we saw all we saw Mak- face Patrick Forces way out of Miami. We saw a B- Forces way out of Pittsburgh and Oakland We we know ooh players now in the. NFL are trying to like own their situation. Like begging you got enough juice to facilitate getting not a cleveland. Really quick on him. I think it's interesting that we don't hear that much from him. Like why is that because because sometimes your silence silence speaks so much louder than you have like oatmeal. First of all is making sure that the media doesn't drive his narrative which I appreciate about him because he's been burned a lot by things that he said and been taken out of context. Understand it from that standpoint. But the Odell Beckham we know beyond my personal knowing him in running into him. I don't know him personally like a lot of guys around Lsu. But I know I've had conversations with him before the the the silence to me. He tells me that it's not even worth it. And in the last thing he wants is for perspective other team that would come and get him to you think. Oh Oh Dell's out there talking they would rather let let me just get this guy. Let's let the talent speak for itself. Okay much more to come on the browns. But I do want to get to some phone phone call here. Marcus fears. Laura Rutledge. Were filling in on the Stephen. A Smith Show. You can get into this conversation by calling us. It's eight eight eight seven two nine three seven seven six six. And let's go to Travis in New Hampshire Marcus. He wants to talk about drew. brees of Travis. Take it away. So I'm I congratulate Relate swaggie losing the weight you're looking good man I appreciate. They'd be home shade that otherwise. I WanNa talk about the top quarterback of all time and honestly I see it as like Brady. Then you gotta go Montana Lynn Breeze Manning and then maybe elway or Aikman five I but What do you what do you think about that? I don't have an issue with Pain Montana I do have a issue with brees been before Peyton and I think it's because we have a little recently bias of what we just saw drew brees do do. It doesn't take away from drew brees greatness. But here's the thing that I pol. Here's a question that I posed when we have an greatness conversation especially in football because there's difficult we have greatest player great quarterback whatever. We're doing all the time one hundred list right now in the NFL. All of that stuff so there are a lot of context today conversation conversation. I don't think we've ever considered drew brees a best quarterback in the NFL during his High Ha. Maybe I'm wrong. Some people probably have. That's why I said the the conversation can get convoluted based on how you feel about drew brees but I know we we know we say a payment was the best for a long time. I know we say that I know painting won't has won five. MVP's to drew's none done. I know Peyton was also among the conversation for being one of the greatest football players ever. We never had that conversation. Nation about drew brees. So it's not a knock because we see the numbers we see where drew brees is doing but also this this is my tough part about stats situations can give you stats situations. Can Bill your resume numbers wise. That says hey. This guy is one of the greatest. Now I'm I'm not saying that to take anything away from drew breeze. I just don't think we ever had a conversation about drew. brees being the best when Peyton and Tom was even in the league right so hard for me to say that all of the stats despite all of these numbers that would make you say to your point that would make you say A. Wow I mean every every time another number comes out about drew brees. Whether it's you broke a record or whether it's just saying hey look. This is what else he's done. It's like man that's shocking so good and then I always always look myself in the mirror and say why do I think that shocking. Because I should think I should already know that I should already know though doing that. And it's just something about him. Which is why I I mean? Look he was wearing like the Jordan shirt underneath his blazer last night the outfit not so sure about it was it was growth in low rough. But he's I mean why do he knew that he was going to break that. No doubt he knew he's going to have that post game press conference. He knew he was gonNA wear that shirt. And part of all this I think is because all of us and I just admitted being guilty of it. We probably don't give him the credit that he deserves deserve based on the stats alone. No doubt ails. But you can't do you. Can't we have history of of not basing it on stats alone right if we base NBA on stats along Kareem. abdul-jabbar is degraded salvo. Right if we base. WHO's the best running back? emmitt Smith we know people people think Berry or wants or Jim Brown is the greatest running backs ever. So that's why I say sometimes stats can get in the way of a legit conversation about. WHO's the best right like we saw project that Bo Jackson would have been the best if one talk catastrophic injury Bo Jackson even on close to having the numbers that the running backs I mentioned before? So that's my point withdrew and there's not a knock those guys. I think a lot of times fans get emotional about it and they think you're trying to disrespect the player. No you've got to be obese to accumulate those type of numbers but also so we start having greatest ever when we started numbering you and putting you in positions of the Lore of the NFL. You got to have alf something else outside the statistics right and because statistics are a part of it. But you have to have those moments you gotTa have those individual accolades rainbows rings like is this a lot of things that go into so when we're talking about great all time you gotta think Tom Brady and when we come back back. We're talking about what Tom Brady would look like if he had some of the weapons that drew brees has why everything that happened last night with drew. brees made us think think about Brady. "And we're GONNA go to the phone lines right now. Let's go to Andre. He's been online for awhile. Wants to talk about drew brees. He's and drew brees. Of course coming off of an incredible performance record breaking performance on Monday night football Andre. What's up how you doing? Thanks for taking my call. Drew Brees is resume is definitely five star. But I can't put him in the top five of all time and I'm GonNa tell you. Listen to man's got twelve pro bowls he's all time leader Passing but on top of that you know I really love and respect to breeze. Also the Walter Payton Manning Year War Art Rooney Award so he's a great citizen and ambassador for the NFL L. But he can't be top five as far as I'm concerned I gotTa have Marie. Obviously I two is braiding and Montana. Okay but for me I gotTa have John Elway and there. What is five Super Bowl? Appearance is and I gotta Dan Marino in there. What is forty eight touchdown passes and going over five thousand yards? And here's the reason why okay And then Pete men would be fifty five. MVP VP or my old school guy being there because they played in A Real Maine's NFL. Marcus fields they did what they did in the Lawrence Taylor era in the Mike Single Terry era in the Reggie White era an era where defensive players could bury you under the ground you know and you had to get up on the next play and continue to charge forward. So it's not you know you. You can only play when you play you know. But drew brees and these current quarterbacks they just happen to plan an era in a league. It's so quarterback and offensive friendly because of you know other business you know that I can't have undermine with these great play. I mean their numbers and this is. The market's Marcus point about systems and statistics. You know these new players were surpassed them the typically you know but in terms of the actual game and what it took to succeed you know in one generation of versus the next. I gotTa Have Marino away. My top seeded first of all this while love having fans time in so oh good thanks for the call. I'm going to take Bro. It's the same conversation we have in the NBA right. Well the Brown Lebron of handshaking if he played in my joy one Euro I contend that he would because he's physically dominant. Like right. All of those you find a way the point he brings up about Marino and elway his interesting and also the innovation office. We all understand that like you and I were covering Alabama when they say Jaylen cars hurts couldn't throw and he was in New York last week and had better numbers then Johnny Manziel his Hisen so to his point makes sense systems matter and you got obviously be talented to perform a no systems James. Here's what I would say about drew bees when it comes to Marino and Elway I think right now we there drew brees that still carrying team. I think it's safe to say that. elway got his super bowls it was really built on. Terrell Davis write them being able to run the football not to take anything away from the way. I remember him going into the end zone. Ella Coptic optic scoring. All of the ELWAY was great. Marino was great through four. A lot of yours. I think the rains are going to be an issue for elway. I think when you having a I think it's different in the NFL than it is the NBA. We can look at a player talent and skill in the NBA. and Say I don't care if you ring a not. He's one of the greatest players. Play is not the greatest right. Some things had workout in football. I think the rings matter because we we we. We judge a lot of quarterbacks. On how much do they raise the level of their team. That has a lot to do. With how how we have. Conversations about greatness people have to remember paid. Men was one in fifteen his rookie year in Indianapolis pay men and literally lifted the colts out of abyss. Abyss drew brees went to New Orleans and lifted the saints out of a biscuit that matters. It matters Tom Brady when he got the New England took over for BLEDSOE. They went to super bowls. Lifted that team not saying none of these other guys didn't right but I think we have to give credit invalidation to the things outside of I'm which on the stats big dog. I'm with you one hundred percent the stats can be convoluted. What drew brees did in New Orleans? Though I was I grew up in Louisiana. Are Mental Win. The whole stadium shoulder where Brown paper bags overhead. I remember when Saints Games were blacked out on TV. 'CAUSE nobody wanted to watch him right Sean. Payton and drew brees changed like the saints. That young people know now they have no idea. Oh when I was growing up in bands in people talked about Lsu what the science was an throw team so some of that plays into. And like I said it's personal right a lot of people. Some of that plays into my validation for saying drew. BREES is a top five quarterback of all time. Because you re took a franchise that literally Aaron Brooks back in the day. Gave some exciting moments when he was playing quarterback Virginia. Ge Guy really good apart of the Agresson Vic from the same area. Tara Taylor all of those dudes. Aaron Brooks was obese. I enjoyed it. He brought some light to New Orleans and the science drew brees took it to a whole `nother level like just and it was everything Katrina happen. Happen drew brees came back and researched and the saints gave him a super bowl. They like listen when we step back because sometimes when we still you guys are still playing. We really don't value them like that. I think what we step back after drew brees is done. They'll be more validity to a top five cumbersome. His legacy Agassi is different too because of everything that he did to put that town on his capture. Some of the worst tragedies from this for people to say drew brees like people knew on is ready to kill me name saying drew brees. I go listen. They might they might marcus fears. Lara runs Voodoo dolls on me down. Now y'all zoo scary the new dolls. Those are real. You GotTa Watch out say that somebody stabbing me. Yeah I'll blame it on Shannon producer. Okay we do have a call that I wanNA take Jake here Marcel. Joining us from New York. What's up Marcel? What do you WanNa talk about? Hey Laura and Marcus thank you so much for Ticketed time to to speak to you on this fine Tuesday. It is cloudy and raining out there. We saw it. We felt it and before I talk doc seahawks I wanted you instead. Congratulations Laura Rutledge on. Get up this morning. Thank you very very very proud of you. Laura Rutledge on twitter. I followed you at Marsa. Mark Seventy if you like. Follow me back now. I have to say about the a Seattle Seahawks is Josh Gordon. He suspended indefinitely yesterday from the League off. Awed the drug related issues while in the League. He's on the out again. And after violating such thefts abuse at that use regulations. My opinion I do not believe this. I do not believe this. Why Josh Gordon's suspended indefinitely indefinitely from the team? Thank you so much for the call Marcel. We'll let marcus give his take on this. I thought you had a really well said take this morning on. Get up just about Josh Gordon. And what he's going through as a human being right now well look to answer. Marseils questions is the fifth time. That's that's why guards Mississippi in this. That's that's why that that the League has to take this approach thought the League has I think the League has has done a really good job of trying to work gardening. You made your point this morning. which was poignant has talent level was unbelievable? That's why players players when this stuff star first transparent like what is dual being so still bill. I won't stop doing what he's doing is dumb. And then and then you and then you mature as this. This story continues to develop and Josh did a piece when he was in Rehab and talking about focusing their self and dealing with this issue. This addiction is a monster. It's a disease and and I think a lot of times people think like even I was naive. I gotTA admit I do. Just don't do it during the season and right you no no it. Don't go like that. It was explained to me. And that's why this morning. I said what I said about Josh Gordon. The person his wellbeing the continual beasts that he has the fight possibly for the rest of his life right and from a football context. We can talk about his talent and what he offered to Seattle and be mad at. The League suspended him indefinitely. And I even alluded to the fact that possibly the league plan in the. NFL was something that kept him at some type of solace. But obviously it didn't. He still felt like he needed it to you. Something right and I'm not gonNA pretend to know what that is. I don't know what that is. But here's the thing when when when when I talk so much about the NFL. And you know I'm big on the NFL being a fraternity in planning Lee plan with so many guys they come from different backgrounds dealing with different monsters and demons and they life family history the pressure of taking care of a family. That's never had anything like a lot of things play in in by no means. Is this telling people to feel sorry for NFL NFL players right. But I do want you to know that there are real issues that NFL those million dollar checks in those contracts. Don't fix addiction did they. Don't fix when you have a family member that's addicted or they don't fix when family members are coming out of the woodworks and they don't fix when you got people suing you that you are loved loved you like I'm I'm not again. I must reiterate this ain't poor me's for NFL players. This is just tell you that dues deal with in real life beyond what you see on Sunday and thinking that this talent is wasted. That Anyhow Josh Gordon look at it. Josh Gordon is. It's an every day battle. It's every hour every minute every single second battle for him to deal with this beast. He's been dealing with for so long. So I would tell people to pause also for a second and think about that before. You formulate your football opinion about Josh Gordon and what you say public. Just take a minute to step back and do that. 'cause I'm I'm guilty of that in the initial. But after learning about what he dealing with I like this is he's come out and say. Hey this my deal with like I'm trying it very well said by you. Marcus and I do think Just overall the sentiment that I would echo here is just that Josh. I hope you're okay and you can get the help that you need and and everybody. That's you know aware of this will be thinking about you and thinking about anybody who deals with this because it's very difficult. We got so much more coming your way for the rest of this hour on the Stephen Smith show so. Make sure that you stay tuned for that in. Did you know the Arrow. "But I want to start with drew brees because you you brought this up this morning coming off a record setting night another record-setting night for drew brees. He might be at this point in the conversation for greatest of all time. But where does he rank for you. Let's dive right into it and want to get you involved in the conversation so make sure you call in the number that I gave before absolute right now. I haven't four ills and and look the is. Tom Brady paid man in Joe Montana and injuries. And look you can make arguments for a bunch of guys Marino elway Super Bowls Marino passing yardage and what he was able to do with the dolphins even without a super bowl absent at And then Brett Farve you got. It's a bunch of guys right depending depending on who you like. Drew Statistically supported that he's one of the greatest of all time One Super Bowl is a little bit of a knock but at the end of the day we all trying to get one when we play in that league. I Lisa got one. Two thousand eleven knocked out by San Francisco possibly a super bowl Minnesota miracle possibly super bowl run even though that was before the divisional game and then obviously we saw what happened against the rams so we could be sitting here today with drew brees potentially alien four super bowls now. I don't know how many of those he would have won. But let's just say fifty fifty fifty right. He goes he goes to for two. It's a whole different in conversation because the past records owned he's been a part of that. Here's the thing though. You have this conversation between Tom. Brady and I think Tom Brady said itself self apart so then when we get further into the conversation we talked paid men and Joe Montana injuries. I don't think we ever really considered drew. Brees the best. Why is back the lead? Why because pain was so great? Yeah at the time right. Think about this generation. We've had the opportunity to witness witness. We got three guys. That's in the greatest ever conversation crazy between Tom Paine Andrew so look. It's not bad to be mentioned. I just thought this morning born and we need to start having a serious dialogue about drew. brees potentially being one of the greatest if not the greatest quarterback play the game. I love it straight talk wireless everything for less only at Walmart. The thing that really came to mind for me too and that I loved about last night he was twenty nine for thirty. The man was almost perfect but the almost is what made him mad and drew brees said after he said look. I wanted to be more perfect that I was that one incompletion bothering me. We may even have this sound. I don't know do we know. Maybe we don't anyway. Oh link we do. We're going to listen to it in the meantime while we're queuing that up. You're listening to Marcus Spears. Laura Rutledge were filling in for Stephen A.. On this evening Smith Show and we are presented by progressive will be with you until three PM. Make sure you give us a call already see some. I'm great people on the line. It's one eight say. ESPN and if we can let's listen to what drew brees said after he broke another record. I don't know how they pick him Monday night. Football playing the colts team that we won the Super Bowl against ten years ago. So the the whole super forty four team is back for the ten th anniversary and obviously received national television. Now that record in the balance as well just kind of makes you shake your head you know. Are you kidding me on. Not sure how we got here. You're kind of makes your whole life and career flash before your eyes it's crazy. I mean when you hear when you hear him talk about himself and almost putting in perspective. I've obviously never done anything. Great like that or any word clues but I haven't so I can't even imagine knowing thing that you did that and then trying to talk about it while you're still playing that's the other interesting thing too about entering this. Where do you rank in the greatest of all time conversation injuring it while you're still playing the other question here to markets? How long do we think he got another two or three? Yeah right because Look Mickey Loomis has done a tremendous job surrounding drew brees where people that makes his job easier not to take anything away. From how great is when you talk about getting Michael Thomas. The acquisition of Jared Cook this year we talk about Alvin Kamara It is one of those is just one of those things where everything kind of works irks. Offensive Line is playing. Great Defense has shown a propensity to be really good at times but he steals surrounded in the locker room where really good players Cam Jordan on the other side of the ball as elite elite. So look for all. Intents and purposes drew is far from done right we. We potentially could be talking about six hundred touchdowns touchdowns we could be talking about more passing regulate creating a level of separation that you almost look at like. When when Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth Homerun record? Everybody was like Yo. That's never going to be broken. So it'll be it'll be somebody come along Willoughby Pat Mahomes. I don't know if he can keep that type of production production of possibly but when you look at what drew brees is doing with the potential implant two or three more years. The conversation is going to continue to happen. And what if he does win a super bowl this year and possibly get the two or three in the next two or three years because the team is built for success going forward. It'll be interesting to see you picked the saints as your Super Bowl winning team. You and here's the thing I mean. I still love that. Pick Look I. I don't don't know if we knew that the ravens were going to be this good. You didn't know Lamar Jazz is going to have this incredible breakout season. We sort of saw signs and it could happen but I like your. I like your saints pick. Are you still feeling like when you made it at the beginning of the season and now that you've seen everything are you still feeling that confident about and memory evens man. That's what happened is just so because it's so difficult now all of that changes when you get to a super bowl right right. We know you and I have been around championships every year since we started working together. We know what those moments can do. They can make a team. That's been great all all season long. look not average but just look good not like they did in the regular season and then to you gotta give credit to the team out of the NFC now see that's GonNa make it to the Super Bowl. But right now I like. I don't see anybody beating the ravens just right now but we still talking about drew. Brees we still talking about a super bowl with different elements Lamar Steel Young. Even though how grady is that stage is huge So there there are factors on both ends. That would play into you being able to make a hard case for either team if those were the two matchups but but with that being said like I mean I still feel good about Orleans real. Yeah I like your pick right as a as a whole it is. We're GONNA talk about cowboys here pretty soon with you. We're also GONNA talk on the show today about the browns and what your fix for the browns would be. That's coming up later on and if you are listening you can hear Marcus's sigh of despair. That's how swaggie feels about that. It's not good. We're also going to get into a a little more about the draft with this mock draft coming out from Todd mcshay today. Lots of interesting things on that. I want to quickly get your thought before we take our first break when it quickly get your thought on why you think he puts to a at number four going to Miami and how you think that that works. I think to uh-huh so interesting. We'll get your thoughts on borough later tours very interesting look. Here's the great part about now the way to NFL structured. You don't have to give a rookie fifty million dollars to sign them right right so there is a little bit more leniency on giving a contract to at four and if it doesn't work out it's not GonNa Break Your back financially. It's not that's the reality of it. The second part of is he's so damn good and playing the position vision that if you can get him to ninety percent you would think that he would be elite in the NFL. What he did coming out of Alabama who who? He played for matters as well he played under nick. Sabin who is going to stand on the table and say look. This guy will not be injury risk. We've surrounded under them. Were the greatest people. He's GonNa Bounce back. He'll be as good as he was before the injury. So it's very interesting to see him four now. What Miami is going bank on is what every team gene banks on is that he's GonNa turn into a generational quarterback well a guy that can carry a franchise for the next ten fifteen years? That gives you pause because of the injury outside. Added that the talent what you seen him do even with Dr Selling you hate his kids going to be fine. That's the easy part about making a decision. But when you're trying to project object with his injury history and bedding on him being a franchise carrier. That's when you get into gray area of okay so we pull the trigger on a gotTa Outta has deal with some injuries for that extended period of time. I still think best case scenario for two tons of Iowa is that he ends up with a franchise. It doesn't need him to control right away. Yeah maybe it's not exactly. Maybe the chargers one of these teams that has a guy there. That's looking for the next guy on May the Patriots techno each other. They're kind of cut from that same cloth but somewhere where you're not relying on him to come. I'm in because the next time that to a plays a game he'll be facing an NFL deep knows he'll be facing a defense. It's going to become an atom tomorrow. We're not talking about you know Charleston southern or something like that. We're talking about a very real defense. And so I think for two. That's the best case scenario for him. And for whatever team drafts him The the other thing too about his injuries that just. I don't know how else to put this other than that. They're fluky the the knee injury the ankles maybe not not as fluky but a little bit. You still got hit bad but this hip injury. This hip injury only occurs in car accidents. That's why you you know the fact that they were able to relocate it. You know in the stadium. There in Starkville made a huge difference for his recovery. And we'll talk more about just how doctors. I feel that this will go for him. Because I think that information's important. They feel very confident recovery. But it's not like it's like he has this reputation as being injury prone which makes sense but these aren't injuries that happen even football like this. Just be this and to your point ails. Is it a bear run for because our is it because of how he's playing the one thing I would say that scouts and general managers and people will look at with tour when he rose left he holds the ball too long. Think about all of these injuries. He's been dangles..

I don't know of green bay's defense. Is that damn good but i know they look spectacular last night. What's up what happened. Let me tell you a stephen. H i mean i mean. I don't know if you've seen the forecast here in chicago. It's kinda cloudy day and explains the mood here in chicago. It's a beautiful to not be 'cause. I'm not shouldn't be i'm. I'm not <hes> and and and as i if i please may be a one of your great great catchphrase what can go wrong will go wrong. Even i mean i have ticket through work day in and day out of my coworkers bloviating and hyping the bears and saying well we weren't twelve and four you know we're gonna the super bowl. We're going to go to the super bowl. We're gonna wait this year. Mitchell trubisky little back oughta crew. We're going to be great and it just goes to show oh stephen. It could've gone along with the chicago. Bears went raw. Well don't get too excited. Dammit i mean listen. Y'all got to the playoffs last year but it wasn't like everybody's he's looking at. Y'all like gangbusters. The fact that is you don't have much to work with mitchell trubisky. I'm talking about it. You know i mean they. They could give him a slew of other weapons. He doesn't have available to him and that's part of the reason why he didn't look that good did defense as a league but their offense highly suspect. We recognized that it's official. We'll see where they go from here. I gotta run but i appreciate the call. Thank you so much leroy. You live steve day. Talk to me stephen aide. I'm listening <hes>. I wanna ask you. Do you feel that <hes> antonio brown with all the trouble. He's starting right now. Is he on the right team. Ooh i mean we could all starring antonio. Brown didn't give a damn about being on a particular team because he was on the pittsburgh steelers and what he wanted was his money. It wasn't like he asked to be traded to. The new england. Patriots wasn't like he asked to be traded to play with drew brees or aaron rodgers was somebody would antonio brown that was after was his money..

"Something's not right. I've never heard of a professor not not particularly one in the n._f._l. That would give up that kind of leverage. I've never heard of it ever. Ask you fill out. I really is completely family of five. We'll never find out never wanna we'll find out. Trust me trust this. This is two thousand nineteen baby. Everything comes home. There's always somebody singing don't ever get i said that might not be they might not be the mall might not that'd be a week two weeks from now but eventually we will know that you this is how it goes like. I told you i was an inside on the n._b._a. I i still am the some degree but i mean my lord. I lived it for years. All i did was no who who who people's enemies you find folks soft spot and you squeeze squeeze. I got that line mission boss you find somebody so spot and you squeeze and these folks in professional sports. They got into all over replace. All you gotta do is find out who they are. Now found out who's connected and who don't who don't like and then you go to the person that don't like that person and and he'll get you all the goods. It's very easy especially in a world where agents exist. It's not at all no doug you lava steven stephen a. It just came across it a._b. Is going to play in denver sunday night. That's i mean how how do you feel about that. I i think gruden is we. It looks weak as hell. I'm not gonna say he is because that's characters. That's the nation and i and i don't feel that way. I'm actually very fond of jon gruden but what i because of the work that he did here at the f. nine years covering monday night football he was outstanding but let me be very very clear. This situation has whole handling of antonio brown. He looks pathetically weak no question about it. You're one hundred million dollar man. You got eighteen million in additional bonuses. I mean gruden's tenure in oakland more secure than any player any player uh-huh anybody all right. He has the power to high in fire. He's gotten really got rid of reggie mckenzie the former g._m. Broaden his man mike mayock who had no executive experience experience. He was an analyst on tv. Doing what i'm doing. Okay you know he got rid of amari cooper whose class personified and a number one receiver here here. He got rid of khalil mack the mac daddy okay all right. He's chicago tearing it up and you bring an antonio brown and you can't even suspended suspended for one game when it will give you the owner and you in particular twenty nine million dollars worth of leverage and you can't even do that. Jon gruden gruden looks pathetic and weak in this. I'm not calling him pathetic. I'm not calling 'em week. I'm saying with this particular situation. He looks pathetically weak like he's willing to compromise himself and his own damn man if we want to be honest about it for antonio brown brown and as far as i'm concerned might make you really have no power. It's let me cultivate a relationship with jon gruden. That's it. If i'm a player. Let let me let me be a high end producer and cultivate a relationship with jon gruden and that way might may i i don't even have to deal with you you useless now because jon gruden gruden to make this decision for him to come up to publicly and disrespect him like that and still not even get suspended for game when it would would give you twenty nine point one to five million and leverage assuming that story's true if that's the case for you not to make this is this decision. It's beyond week is beyond week and it shows what oakland ain't going..

Today but i wanted to say we've seen a plethora of bad men. Well deserved it. Their money gained respect like zeke elliot and lake on bell with these new tactics of understanding how they are required to an organization but with this whole antonio brown situation taken taken from the east coast to west coast leaving steelers. How do you feel i just saw on the t._v. That they actually are not gonna suspend him now. <hes> unwind stupid for not doing that i agree with you and guess what it's not personal animus against antonio brown or whatever but if i i guarantee you thirty million and you are acting up active belligerent and causing me headaches and you give me in in to position myself to regain the leverage by having the power to avoid your contract at any moment that i want to and all i gotta do suspend you for the opening game of the season as it is sitting down. I'm spending you. I think the rate is absolutely stupid enough suspending them dumb do i am. I clear about that stupid. Dom do you need another incendiary word along those lines to get my point. I think is absolutely stupid out of out of suspended that brother yesterday if you telling l. let me and remember. I'm not talking about behavior. I'm not talking about him. "He's guaranteed to make put them in a position avoided in the event. Another insubordinate act takes place. I think that's exactly what they should do to give themselves the power to give themselves the leverage as opposed to being worried about losing thirty million altogether. What are your thoughts about what the rate should do antonio brown at this point. I understand where you're coming from. But here's the diff you know and i have our conversations outside. He yet winning if the cure and winning is the number one goal and the raiders going to exhaust every possibility it antonio brown on the field which i think this recently it came out that he made a public apology to the team he was. He was gonna play monday often but here's the deal i if we could be talk. We can look at it for. What did he even and you know anybody by now because we put together and i've listened to you. You always told me to be who are on t._v. Nobody gives a damn about show behavior win. In between those friends you start the ball. I wasting time again the very people out buyers in we talked about the asian. Now we domestic abuse. We're not talking about guys. That will be like major history but we talked about oh heavens. Even this ain't the first back that thought alert and haywood. It just hasn't hit the public right. Antonio brown's biggest issue is big as wall doing if not on what he does but he's let he's played this out in the meeting. He's you bring negative attention into not only pittsburgh but oakley. That's been his mistake the things that the head coach his been around long enough to know this is enough to any n._f._l. Franchise that have dealt with with players of his bachelor's. What i will say did a halt also khalil mack graphic cleaner fair. He's drafted job day in order to stay better off if they have a question that quarterback in their cars really the guy and now you bring in and tonio brown make sure that all go right in the third and a hundred and ten low right and that's all balanced it but once they get tonio brown on the show this is oakland level that they watch we get into games if we can get past all of this and he goes out and catches for one thirty and to every member why they deal with antonio brown's obviously put on the table they told pillow busy so we look at say that's a problem we may affect everything they're going over to team but the real honest pruthi see it as long as his production maxis what what he's bringing forth things that negative and they win game and they about to move vegas and they have a more key tame that they can put up on a billboard two bits on the side of the stadium as long as they exist him for the game. They still deal with the as long as they can. It's like a girlfriend. I know she's not good for me and like now and that's what oakland go do it and tony because they can't handle newton komo bears. Terry Rozier says Boston Celtics 'needed to get our butts whooped'

"We talked about it and i went to a break and i told you why there was talk of a boston celtics rear in and it's everything that i wanted to love about a here's terry rozier after the celtics got what the cavs in post game needed we need to get our buzzword no connects reality and take care of business and i love that right we need to get our butts because it leads me to what draymond green of the warriors had to say on their off days before they get ready for the rockets here's what draymond green had to say this was this at our best game why we felt threatened we came out with the sense of urgency game to we maybe didn't feel and assessors who wasn't there so the you're allow one of those a series we've got one for the reminder to serves draymond green talking about it marcus spears quote we needed to get threatened rosiere talking about we needed to get our but what what i love about those two soundbites is because it makes the nba predictable it lets me know now that now that gambling is going to be legal in some of the states that i can go out there and bet the farm and i know exactly what's going to happen based on the effort that they're going to give there was no doubt that the cavaliers were going to beat the celtics last night and there is no doubt in my mind because of that millennial mindset in front frankly the celtics out that they can just roll out there and go hey guess what if we we we lose we lose oh well now it matters okay now now i'm going to care now it's a series that the cavs one they thought they could sleepwalking it's predictable to me that that was going to happen it's predictable to me that the golden state warriors were absolutely slaughter slaughter the rockets later on tonight you know why because golden state will care tonight golden state will show up not like they did in game two and they'll say all right you have our attention they're bored and that's an into a certain extent that's what i love about it spears you're finally going to get a game in which both the rockets and more importantly the warriors care about what happens tonight what does your stupid that's just that's.
