"The cowboys. Here at picton. Maybe see grades being higher on hornets retain but boy certaines a safe prospect. You often see him mocked as you mentioned and maybe those first nine different guys off the board. But he's still sitting there in the dark horse for me though is rashawn slater because you look at jerry jones's career. He invests in offensive linemen. How long has tyron smith going to be around. Slater be guard in the meantime. I mean he likes having the best offensive line in the league. So which work needs to be done on the defensive side of the ball right dako scott until the passing game the weapons. That dallas cowboys. Have i got to believe. There's a defensive player coming here. Let's see if they stayed shock with the selection. Marcus and landed of locked on cowboys with the tenth pick in the ultimate mock draft. I am marcus mosier. Joined by land are the host of the lockdown kabyles podcast and with the tenth pick in the two thousand twenty one. Nfl draft the dallas cowboys. Select patrick santan. Junior cornerback alabama. Yeah it was. This is a pick that we've had written in pencil since october. It's not surprised especially once. Jay z horne came off the board made the pick really easy cowboys. Pick another a starter that go up so trayvon digs and hopefully a long-term starter for the next ten years. Yeah day one starter for the dallas cowboys. I think he's very similar to like a marlin free coming out of alabama a few years ago a perfect fit of scheme in the dallas cowboys. And now we turn our attention to the second round where the cowboys potentially trying to trade up to get back into the first shot to add some more premier defensive talent and it was the alabama corner. Patrick attend the second. We saw his father playing the league. So well for so long. Seemed like a second version of patrick's ser tan was destined to be a top ten pick and he does sneak into the top ten here in our ultimate mock draft. Yeah and kind of a tricky as you mentioned but a high quality player. I mean exactly what they need. This defense does need a lot. It's lacking talent and also just made a lot of mental errors and mistakes last year. You would think they would that some that the latter we get cleaned up a little bit too. I'm excited with our odyssey experts. I love this. We've got the playmaker today. Michael joining this. This is pretty cool. It's pretty cool hall of fame. Big time awesome receiver. That was a big of growing up. Get get his take on this. That's awesome. Let's go to michael irvin and his thoughts on his dallas cowboys selection patrick's ten number ten. This is a great pickup for the dallas cowboys. Now they compeer patrick's thirteen the second. We're trayvon deeds on the corner at at have rate corners for long john. I asked patrick's attend about this on my podcast. He says they have had conversations about being in the corner for the dallas cowboys was decent for years to come him in trayvon. Let me tell you folks. The dallas cowboys need a lot of help on defense. It is always easier to find the guy that get to the passer than it is to find the guy that can break up the past we could find. Is you get to. The quarterback is hard to find. Is that could cover the wide receivers pick for the dallas comes now with another breakdown of an alabama prospect this time patrick's for ten luke robinson of locked on obama with his thoughts on certaines career with the crimson tide. Patrick certain from the university of alabama. Of course the son of a patrick certain senior and he's a great great player. He's going to be a shutdown corner in the nfl for a long time to come and he's just the kind of guy that just doesn't give up any kitchen he he doesn't take any plays off. Either that's what's so interesting about him. I think defensive backs can get bored when player when quarterbacks decide not to throw in their direction ser tan just always was ready whenever somebody did have the cojones to throw it in his direction. It seemed like something good happen. In terms of he would have a pick six. Now he did get beat for a touchdown against florida in the sec championship game but it was just a perfect pass and a great play by the receiver and sometimes The receivers just gonna make a good play too but those those kind of moments were far and few between when you're talking about a defender the caliber patrick ser tan. He's gonna having least that the kind of career his father had. I eventually believe he will surpass a his father in terms of nfl rates. Let's finish up day. Two of our ultimate mock draft matt with the new york giants who are standing by with the eleventh pick in this draft patricia train. The host of locked on giants has some decisions to make the you go wide receiver. Do you go offensive line. I mean it's probably going to be really hard to pass on. Somebody like devante smith here but they did work in free agency at wide receiver. It would seem that the need there is gone. But you can always help out your your young quarterbacks if daniel jones is indeed their guy mac jones is still out there. I don't know if you up on jones's at quarterback would russian dc giants going here pick eleven devante. Smith is probably the highest graded player by most. That are still out there. Sean slater would certainly feel a need. Though i mean they went tackle the first round last year slater could be a tackle or guard. Frankly slater might be their best offensive lineman the second he put on blue but we also know this team needs edge pass rush and they always covid big guys you know. I mean going back to the parcels days. I mean this organization love bringing big people. Would they love a russo. Were a pay or somebody like that. I mean i think that's not off the board for that. Let's find out who. Patricia selects for the new york giants at eleven the host of locked on giants with the selection. What's good giant fans. Patricia trainer host of the lockdown giants podcast and with the number eleven. Pick in the nfl. Draft i have the new york. Giants letting northwestern offense of lyman rashaan slater now. This was a tough one here. I really wanted to trade down in the strath. I really wanted to draw from number eleven down to maybe around number twenty. didn't get any offers. And the reason why i wanted to trade down was because kyle pits off the board mart chase off the board jalen. Waddell was off the board so three players that i maybe would have considered at number eleven. Had they been there all god so that said i look at the giants offensive line. Didn't really add too much to the offensive line in free agency. Just some really players. But i'm looking ahead. And in were sean slater. They have a guy who can play both left. Tackle and right tackle predominantly a right tackle. But he's also projected to play inside it right guard now. Obviously if you get offensive lineman at number one. The idea is to get them in there and have them start from day one. If at all possible. I do think that if the giants go with sean slater that is. It's certainly a possibility. And you know. I could have picked. Mica parsons penn. State at that spot. I do believe the giants will be able to get it edge rusher in the second round of the draft. There's a couple of guys. I'm bali that they might be able to fit there so again my pick for the giants at number eleven with sean slater northwestern offensive linemen and it is the offensive. Lineman rashawn slater out of northwestern. The selection number eleven by patricia for the new york giants. And you know kind of need eats value here. I think what this election you mentioned. How the new york giants. They love big people so absolutely. I could see this being the pick. Here at eleven for the giants. That's what i would have done as well with all respect. Devante smith that you just signed golladay munich. Daniel jones life is easiest possible saquon. Barkley coming back i mean. How many times has he been. Hit behind the line of scrimmage in his career as well slater's a great player. And there's gonna be some spot for this for him hopefully for a very long time on big blue's offense you know who played against the new york giants quite a bit in his career. Is michael irvin. We just heard from him talking about the dallas cowboys pick. Let's go back to the playmaker on the giant selection of.

Michael daniel jones Patrick Daniel jones tyron smith Sean slater patrick santan marcus mosier jerry jones dako scott Patricia patrick mac jones luke robinson sean slater rashawn slater michael irvin Marcus Slater Waddell

"I'm good how are you. Kp were what like ten days and free agency. Things have slowly started to settle down in the focus charting starting to shift to the draft. It is so that was quick. Last week was fine. But now we're kind of back to reality of the offseason where it's rumors and hoping that we get news so let's first of all as always thank you for listening rate subscribe review five stars wherever it is that you get your podcast. Let's start with the big news. So as we're we've been talking about the salary cap this past week or so and just give providing updates on where the forty niners stand. We were not able to tell you the exact number because we didn't know what d- forged restructure would look like over the cap projected that at most the forty niners would be able to free up about nine million in cap space but good news is the san francisco was able to free up more than that defaults cap hit went from twenty million in two thousand twenty one to nine point. Eight million after the restructure so eleven point two million in cap space freed up and now the forty niners almost pretty much back to where they started a cox. What was your takeaway from forge restructure. Yeah this was kind of the unknown coming into this offseason right D ford in western rich burke or the forty niners gonna do with those do contracts and they were complicated. The forty niners had restructured both of them the previous season. They couldn't just easily cut them and walk away from the contract. Both players were injured and was like serious injuries so it was really complicated. So let's start with ford with ford. They basically just reduce his base salary. And the like you mentioned eleven million dollars. This season his cap it does go up in twenty twenty two to twelve million and then there's a third void year that was added in twenty twenty three. They can't cut him in twenty twenty two with a post june i designation save. You know seven million dollars. I think the next two seasons and so they can wash their hands. Clean of ford hopefully next season. But what this tells me is a the forty niners that default has a chance to return the season. And you and i talked before we hit record. It's found money if d ford plays. It's a win. If he steps on the field gives you anything. It's a win if he doesn't whatever. I'm not expecting him to contribute. Just whatever he does it's It's positive so. I thought from that perspective. It was a win that freed up cap space at the total castrates to have right now around twenty million. that doesn't include the quasi tart deal which i expect to be around the minimum and it doesn't include some of the deals from Tuesday when we when we recorded this podcast so that number slightly influx but it was a lot more than we expected going into the offseason and they definitely have some wiggle room now they can certainly add some depth. Add some depth that potentially slot corner maybe a wide receiver Some places where the depth thin and they've had some moves to make so props to the front office for wheeling and dealing here and keeping the majority of the team together while not completely destroying their salary. Cap in ford was a big reason why they were able to do that with this restructure. So essentially the only holdover from his previous contract was that four point. Six million injury guarantee other than that They pretty much ripped up the contract and made a new one so the athletic did report ford has been rehabbing and essentially the niners facility every day and he has resumed running so this is probably four last chance to prove himself as you mentioned. It's found money so whatever he gives them. That's great but i don't imagine that they are counting on him so with that in mind. You mentioned that the depth the forty niners filling out the depth would could we rule out an edge rusher in the early in the draft knowing that there is a possibility of four to come back to just come back to the forty niners after they just signed old samson. Last week all sampson. Yeah i think so. So i went through and i listened out the defensive line depth on twitter. So chris casey eric and robert solid. They like to name their packages alpha bravo turbo alpha. It's sort of like the first down unit starting unit that i imagine. We'll have nick bo surge bond kinlaw. Dj jones back on a one year. Deal and eric armstead on the on the opposite end and then the bravo unit which kind of your backup unit. That will likely have jordan willis who just signed a one year deal on tuesday. It'll have kevin givens who was kind of a diamond in the rough count. I really liked from last season It'll have Kerr who was another injured defensive lineman that was just signed on tuesday and then a backup spot. That's backup defensive end spot. That's kind of open. But i don't expect them to draft a first round edge rusher to slot in as like a backup someone. You could just sign on the minimum for depth and their turbo package. Which is their pass rushing package. That would be nick. Bosa than arm cedant kinlaw on the inside and then old samson rushing from the outside those are the three packages. And that's why. I can't see edge rusher in the first round. Even though the names have been thrown around routinely there there are still quite a few available on the market as well. Do you think we see any sort of veterans added on a minimum deal. Because obviously you know everybody knows the name davey on cloudy. But there are a few other players in his caliber. They're still available. Yeah that's a good point. You bring that up. Marcus mosier tweeted this out earlier. And i thought it was a good summary today. Clowney melvin ingram carlos dunlap alden smith justin houston ryan kerrigan who the shanahan's were with in Washington everson griffen and adrian. Clayborn all free as we record this podcast so you think to nationals sign. Any one of those. I like a lot of those names. They're obviously older have had issues in the past. But if you're just looking for some depth i think you can add one of those guys For pretty cheap and not have to expend like draft capital there. Yelling smith started off the season with a bang but he did kinda slow down as the year award on. So if i were to go and address your out..

Kerr Marcus mosier twenty million jordan willis tuesday two thousand Tuesday Last week twelve million Six million seven million dollars five stars Eight million eleven million dollars kevin ryan kerrigan davey twitter two million twenty twenty three

"Is relentlessly shooting. Forty two point six percent beyond the arc. Highpoint is number two. The nation in three pointers made behind. Fcc you with two hundred sixty. Two threes overall the panthers. Three point stat line is owned by the back to back. Big south women's basketball player of the year highpoints goto guard had a standout night against nc westland going nine for twelve from deep. Those are the top three point shooters by the numbers this season so far. Make sure you follow along on installation. Dot com in ensued women's basketball social for more so again as we would say in hockey stick to autumn johnson. Doing her thing. I played you the segment on three point shooting. But also autumn has up the final power rankings of the season again. We are already here in We're basically here when it comes to the postseason so we're in conference tournaments right now finishing those up this week A little bit into next week and then it's the nc double a. tournament so i spoke about uga jau A little bit earlier and actually georgia makes it into autumn's power rankings for week. Sixteen so you should definitely check that out. Some not surprising things some surprising things. But i'll run through it really quickly for you right now. You can with the number one spot followed by nc state. Your acc back to back champions you have texas am coming in at number three ahead of stanford at four south carolina at five baylor at six maryland at seven luvell at eight ucla at nine n georgia at ten. So now let's talk sizzle fizzle and for this we're gonna go to the ap poll the for through march seventh. So that's sunday. Let's see yukon. I think we're on a straight sizzle. They are the number one spot where previously number one stanford maybe also a sizzle they come in at number two on the people associated depress were previously at four nc state although they remain in that number three spot. Trae club hala I think they're probably a sizzle. Texas am ranked fourth. They were previously second so low. Bit of fizzle going into this final Week here south carolina previously seven now ranked five. I'd say they're on that sizzle fotiou. She'll baylor stays solid at six louisville and marilyn tied for seventh louisville previously fifth maryland previously eighth. So we have a sizzle on one side as far as louisville or. Excuse me we have sizzle on one side. As far as maryland a fizzle a slight fizzle on the side of louisville who was ranked fifth tied for second indiana come comes in at nine previously. Ten and ucla comes in at ten previously nine. So those two swapped places other big jumps. Georgia georgia on the mind did a podcast about that. But it was social justice related georgia previously sixteen and they are at twelve in. Ap they break the top ten again. For autumn johnson and the nc double a. power rankings. Who else we got. What else we got I think you know missouri state little bit of a sizzle for them. They go up to twenty one from twenty three. The ohio state university stays true at twenty two. Like how did that twenty twos one of my favorite numbers one. Because i'm a huge shirl soups fan. But also i wore that number in college so sizzle or fizzle. We're going to get into this a little bit more. As the week progresses we still have conference champions two crown. We are still looking for that. Ncwa selection special so lots can happen still and of course you know that there are always snub. So who's on the sizzle. Who's on the fizzle. Who's on the bubble in. Who's on the bubble out first in last out. Whatever you wanna call it. It is march madness and although we still have to worry about covert especially because being like come as you are maskless and all. I'm not with that. But that's apparently what we're doing in texas. Let's see if the nc double a. will have some sanctions to keep everyone safe in to pass our rate. I think that'll do it for locked on women's basketball as i mentioned checkout peterberg hausky locked on today i've been on. His show actually was on the pilot that he did to pitch the show. So there you go. You're welcome peter. You're welcome. I guess it worked out for you but you heard a little taste of what peterberg hausky is doing. Make sure to follow locked on today. "Like unique neon you need to wrap like neon lights around me and then just have him walking around the background to make it look a true which from but yeah if you have like. Have you contacted jose canseco. Was he a contractor review. He doesn't have he doesn't have any like pre existing breathing conditions that we need to worry about. Does i listen. Posy can saco. You now have been told I test positive on monday. But who knows so. My might want to take the precautions. Respects cove it. i only respects. Anything is life s- comeback. But he now knows the mask that he was wearing actually wasn't it wasn't a covert that was just as sleep apnea device. Yes yes so i. We are taking every precaution. A- A lot of people who were on different trips have been sent home to quarantine for the week. We'll be doing zooms till at least the very earliest would be sunday but probably won't even be you know probably be next week tuesday or something so All right should we about other things. And what if. I do survive which i plan on surviving. I will be saying. I'm a covert survivor. Just so everyone sooner. I've one last question. So you still have your sense of taste right. Yup that's a bummer. That's a bummer. Because if you needed help like going on your diet your post super bowl diet like i didn't have a sense of taste right. Now they get. I've eaten solids two days in a row. My body has entirely rejected. It ran through like a goose. It was bad. I wish i didn't have to eat this crap. Well so here's the thing. I have a sense to taste. But i have zero appetite. I have a looseness. A big bag of pirates all had the last forty eight hours so every like three hours. I'll just take a handful to see if i still have my sense. A taste and a pass right now live on camera. This is electric right. He seems to be busy busy. Only balls she. Four point two still cheesy. Yeah so but. I don't have any appetite. I haven't eaten anything. Do any hockey does like like a cancer treatment. Patient who needs to stimulate their appetite. I'm worried about you wasting away. I'm going to get hot commodity this hotel room hot wearing the same clothes for fucking seven days straight. Look in hot All right so let's talk about. Let's do some super bowl cleanup. Why do some super bowl cleanup. I still can't believe billy. Just implicated himself whatever Let subaru clean up. Did you see some some ridiculous. Tom brady things that came out of this the stat. Three hundred and forty four career games his And if you cut his career and half. he's a perfect hundred thirty two and forty and one hundred thirty two and forty. How crazy is that way. What tom brady has played three hundred and forty four regular season and postseason career games. His career game exactly in half. He's one hundred thirty two and forty in one hundred thirty two and forty. Is that insane. Yeah that's crazy. That sense graft and turbo eli manning. Yeah which actually. He hasn't gotten better. Yeah yep he picked. He picked too early. Yeah the other one was The story that came out the tom brady texted his entire team every night. The week leading up to the rule just saying we will win. And i i have to imagine. That's gotta to be like in terms of text messages. You can get that has to be the single most like confidence inducing text message. You can get from anyone at any point in your life. Tom brady just saying we will win. It's powerful it's. It's a very short to the point. Statement where i think if anybody else besides like if blaine gabbert syntax message to everybody each night. Probably get less confident. Brandon's operating we will win. Sounds extremely profound. If if someone who is like if a poet says something that's just like a very plain generic phrase than everyone kind of ignores it. But if it if it's at the end of like a fable involving a frog scorpion on a fox trying to cross the river and it's like yup that makes a lotta sense really hammers at home depending on who is coming from. Yes like if. Tom brady texted me right now is like you will. You will be better tomorrow. I'll probably test negative tomorrow. Like that's that's. I truly believe that he has those powers. Now it just done. Everything defies logic when it comes to him. It's like if it's tom brady. And the guy with the big handsome shallow hal. tony robbins. Those two guys if they sent me attack saying we will win then i would absolutely believe it. No matter what yeah. I'm also. i'm pretty psyched about the parade. That they're going to have in tampa they just now today. They're doing a boat parade. Beautiful boaters are going on the high seas. Which i'm going to love. Seeing people like dress up their tampa fishing vessels as pirate. Ships is gonna be cool. It's gonna be a very unique parade. So i'm glad that they're getting to do something out of it. I'm ready to those well and remember when we went down to tampa for the for the stanley cup. Final game. two in two thousand fifteen. They died the ocean blue. They're going to die. A great people depraved people tampa just sat there and ause. They're like wow. Could you look at that. Like what's going on. Like wait also should blue they. Also i'm a. I'm assuming that the boat they're going to be on his a pirate ship. Right has to be has to rent they. They have to rent the biggest commercial pirate ship. That's available on the east coast has they. They did this for the lightning. Lightning how to bow parade as well but yeah they they absolutely have to have it on a pirate ship and actually i think that if you if you put gronk on a pirate ship and you gave him a sword and after the boat parade you just kept on going out in the atlantic like he would be like okay. We're just pirates now It'd be down for just being a pirate million percent. Bruce arians has a barrel laurent that he keeps with another onto the captain's bridge. I think that they should die. The ocean red dahbi stick male. Shark attack happened out there. Very intimidating yes. The other the other note. I had this one was marcus. Mosier tweeted this out this Twelve last twelve super bowls the.

"Neville Gallimore and I WANNA talk about gallon morning second. I do think that if those were the names I, think the cowboys would be fine. However, we have heard that the cow was a really you know we we use the term five a lot on offense of line. It really does feel like the cowboys are going to use their best for our best three whatever you WANNA, call it on defense we've heard about. Alden Smith being used at nose tackle. We've heard about Everson. Griffen. Being used inside obviously we know the tyrone it has been used there before so I think that the the term or the name or the description or the Acronym associated with. Defensive. Tackle. Where the cowboys players on the depth chart is not going to be probably this ridge thing where your defensive tackle. So you're the only that play that position, etc. The cowboys are clearly going to use multiple looks, multiple fronts, and ultimately that's the most important thing. But they are true defensive tackles if you want to call it that I do think are okay and I do think are something that they can work. With but the fact that they are, I don't know if they feel like they have to adjust for that or if they just want to live and operate this way overall I hope that that's the case. But I, think they're cowboys defensive line is going to be fine but I think the state of the defensive line is too so interesting and how it associates what what's happening in the middle what's going on there It, it is really fascinating. The last thing I do want to touch on I mentioned gala i. saw a tweet chat to our friend finder show Marcus Mosier from the lockdown cowboys podcasts. Here the tweet there made a lot of sense really. We've heard so much about CD LAN- we've heard so much about trayvon digs. We're starting to hear about Bradley and I talking about the defensive line right and we've heard about plays they're making I think you the Prominent educated intelligent hopefully well, fed has mentioned listener you off the top of your head. You can think of a tweet or a clipper, a photo or a video or something you have seen a CD lamb bright. Okay. Got It. You can also think of the same thing when it comes to Trayvon Dick's right. Okay. Maybe you can't think of a video or a photo, but you can definitely think of a tweet you've seen that's hyping Bradley right okay. What have you seen have never more right I mean and to be clear training camp is very different. All right. It's not the same thing. So not every rep is public information etc. I think we'll. We'll learn a lot from the blue and white scrimmage and hopefully but. That qualifier is necessary. It's possible that things are happening and there's just so much happening. So much information to get out. It's just slipping through the cracks that is possible but we are not hearing things about Neville Gallimore and I'm not saying that means it's terrible and whatever. But. I thought that was a great tweet for Marcus and it's a great point to note that other things were coming up over that are instead of that or maybe in place of that who knows but just just file it away just file it away as we sit here now, what twenty six days away from the season opener so We will have some good tax but hey, we're GONNA have a brand new seven five. Philadelphia's the absolute number one best. Best Scheme situation fit on the field and the absolute worst situation fit on the CAP, and that's frustrating and sad of what it is a fun thing to talk about in the hypothetical, because is really good football. Yeah, like you said if if you can get Adams across the Alps and he'd get him on the field that yeah, you're absolutely excited to have. Have them, but you're still you know tugging at your collar when you look at the cap situation and this is a cab situation that is in surprising to anyone. We've been talking about it for years. We're talking about the potential trade for Jamal Adams. Just thrown out in different scenarios and end look. Let's kind of attack it this way assuming the cost for Jamal. Adams is a first rounder, just a first rounder marcus. Mosier recently put out a chart with all the first round player swap trades in the. The last decade and he was making the case, which was weird to me that most of the time the team trading away the pick for the player one that trade, but that's not really what the chart said to me, so there have been seventeen of these trades from two thousand eleven to two thousand twenty one thing that jumped out right away as there were four of those trades in two thousand, nineteen more than any other year and there's already. Already been to from this off season, which include the colts trading for divorce, buckner and the bills trading I the font dig, so there's an uptick in these types of deals. It trays lately, but we really have no way of knowing if those trades specifically our winners long-term yet, so I've I've thrown those out that leaves you with eleven trades from which to form your opinion. It's a small sample. Two of them are one year of rain in cooks. Cooks right, so yeah, if I'm the saints, I would much rather have tackle Ryan Ramczyk for his career than one year of Brandin cooks, so that's that's easiest to do nothin'. The Khalil Mack Trade is a weird one, because the bears didn't win a playoff game, and now they're in capital, and with a lack of draft assets making the problem worse, they couldn't really identify an fixed the quarterback position. So that's not Max fault at all. He still Italy. Italy player eighty. He probably ends up more valuable than Josh. Jacobs Damon Arnett, who Oakland took with those picks, but even that w comes with its own underlying issues, which is kind of the CAP issues. We were talking about before. Let's make it to two with Amari Cooper. The pick made was Jonathan Abraham. I really don't see a universe where the cowboys didn't win. That's Pacific trade I'll take Derek Barnett, over Sam Bradford. We all remember that trade Seattle. Seattle winds in the trade of Jimmy Graham over the Saints Pick linebackers two phone, Anthony, even though they only had Graham for two years. Only one of them being productive Anthony has been on and off the field, so you got three to three now. Nobody won the Johnny Manziel. Trent Richardson Trade in terms of a process though I'm taking swing in the first round before I'm keeping Richardson paying a running back for another year if I have the option. Option still let's say that the push back in two thousand thirteen. The jets traded durell Rivas to the box. Who was misused there and done after one year, the jets used that pick to draft Sheldon Richardson that Interior Defensive Linemen. Who gave them four years at a discount? And then they recouped a second rounder to trade him to Seattle along with wide receiver so defensive rookie of the they use alumnae right? Yeah, he crushed it so the jets obviously. Obviously one that one taking the pick, so you look at another word, Percy Harbin or save your roads into thousand thirteen. I mean give me roads all day. That's not even a debate now you're at five to three in favor of the draft. Pick over the veteran. Another trade included Oakland shipping too I for Carson Palmer. Who would go eight and sixteen as the starter over his two year stint, their Oakland the year before also traded for Richard. Seymour. Down Three first round picks two players in two years, and they followed that up with multiple losing seasons, and it's kind of with the rams are are facing up against now even with the rams are most recent one. Would you rather have Jalen Ramsey on a contract year right now or late on chase on and at twenty twenty one first round pick so when when you look at it, it's it's pretty even and if anything you have to favor the picks, and and this is something that I put. Put up on twitter. The other day and the results are interesting, too, because they're almost the exact opposite of the poll results in your article about Jamal Adams, asking about a trade, so let's say that before the draft of the Eagles traded their twenty twenty I for Jamal Adams Jalen rigor as a rookie hasn't signed his contract yet. Only like three first round rookies have, but raker is projected at an average cap hit per year of three point. Three million atoms lately wants something in the Ballpark of fifteen. Fifteen million average per year. That would make him right now. Anyway. The top paid safety in the League, the highest like fourteen point six. So would you rather have knowing what you knowing what we know now?.

"marcus mosier" Discussed on You're Wrong... And Here's Why

"Rei Gregory we're back for our third and final segment of this week's episode of you're wrong and here's why we're in talks about. Why Antonio Brown another diva wide receiver has talked locked himself out of getting another shot in the national football league? Tell me why this guy this guy just can not not stop getting on twitter and just yelling into neither like it's it's actually unreal and only really does is take shots. He weirdly. Apologizes to Robert Kraft but also take shots. And I'm like I don't I don't get it I don't understand. And and then today he's tweeting basically like f the NFL. Like all day He's he's tweeting out like search statistics from Google. The most searched person was in the United States in twenty nineteen. And it's like dude. You were the reason you were. That is not because of a good thing. Let's let's the people on this list Antonio Brown right Jussie smollet David Ortiz. You've got shot. Andrew Luck retired. Bryce Harper signed the richest contract in the NFL myles. Garrett hit a guy with a helmet like twenty one savage got. They found out that that dude was actually like British or something. I don't know I don't follow pop. Culture that much Kevin Hart almost died in a car. Accident R R Kelly. We don't even need to get into it. What we what happened R Kelly? I mean R. Kelly has my child's Godfather. Is there something you you may want to Google it. Chris I mean you're talking about most of these people on these lists not because of good things. Things like Robert Kraft on this list and that's because he had a couple of trips to Florida. It's just like this is this is just down. The Mercer on the most searched athlete in the world on this on that I don't need the NFL but then every other day you're tweeting back at the NFL. He has now. It's now reached that boiling point which we sort of touched on last segment. Where I don't think anybody's willing to deal with this willing to touch this with a two hundred hurt foot pole like I don't care how many rows he's running against random corners on high school fields like I don't think an NFL team is going to want a a circus that is going to follow Antonio Brown? Here's the thing that you fail to take into consideration. Talent Wenzel every single time and especially specially discounted talent wins out every single time and Brown is certainly going to have to take an immense discount for whomever the next team. The signs look I heard from drew Rosenhaus himself and drew. Rosenhaus is not a guide ally yourself promote that. A number of teams are interested in bringing in Antonio Brown on as soon as he all. This nonsense is resolved and he is cleared. I think what the NFL is doing is very interesting because the NFL has kind of unofficially really suspended him without actually having to suspend him by announcing that if he is signed he could be placed on the the Commissioner Schnur six exempt lift exempt list. Excuse me and so he's he's kind of been unofficially suspended already and teams. Don't know what's coming next but that's GONNA be less of a concern once the year's over and you're not worried about having this guy in for the end of the season he's going to be on somebody's roster he's GonNa be in training camp with some team next next year. There's no question in my mind. It would be hilarious if it was the buffalo bills. I think that's the most apropos fit for him to end up being the elite star receiver in Buffalo team that he ate refused to go to like five months ago. But it's talent wins out. There's there's no way in the world. Antonio Brown's is not getting another chance to play in the national football league. I just don't I don't get what his plan is. Just it's it's the like I look and see. I don't even have to follow him on twitter because it just gets re tweeted and pushed out there so crazy on a daily basis that you're you're just like dude. What are you doing? He send in just random chips and random videos and highlights and talking about getting in touch with God. And you're like man like just stay silent like just stay silent and you help yourself out so much more because you're bringing more and more attention more and more circus tweeting out free. The goat a random videos of him catching pass Hasselbeck touchdown passes from Tom Brady. Did you played one game. Like I don't know I don't know what we're doing. I don't know what we're doing here like we get it. Man You you got a touchdown catch in the one game. You played with for the Patriots like I. I don't know how to take that. I don't know what to interpret from this video that he's is the greatest wide receiver from the NFL today and deserves the chance to play football. Sure but you can't keep tweeting f. f. m. when everybody wants somebody brings up the NFL or or somebody says there's zero percent chance that Antonio Brown aeroplanes another snap in the NFL. and that was from Marcus. Mosier whatever over that. Whoever that guy is seen liable service? Yeah but he tweets that. And you're you're randomly quote tweeting people and just saying FM. Do there's nowhere else to go events. McMahon's GonNa come and bring you the XFL like I don't I don't know serious talk here. How smart would some XFL team be to throw incredible amounts of money a Cabernet Antonio Brown? I mean it would be ratings ratings heaven even and and Jersey Heaven no I mean they would they would make and Vincent Man. He's a marketer. He is a marketer so there is no doubt he knows how to merchandise these things. You could still walk around today and see you know stone. Cold Steve Austin t shirts and a couple of weeks ago. There's a new wrestling organization. That's out there. Eight W we see the commercials everywhere. Of course it's never it's nonstop. Stop but there was a guy in the front row the entire episode. He continued to point to his shirt and turn around and he had A. He hate me. Jersey amazed vigil. XFL He hate me Jersey. Which is unreal that you still have that first of all knows one but but number two? It just proves that Vince McMahon knew what he was doing back then if not for some of the other poorly run things and weird opportune things that the thirty for thirty on that put out their team with cavern and Antonio Brown on it would be just exact thing that they need to get people to pay attention. That's what happened. The problem with the AF is that nobody cared almost immediately week. One it was cool and then it just died. 'cause nobody cared and nobody was interesting. Unless you wanted to watch that old Alabama data running back who played for the colts. I can't think of his name trend. Richardson yes unless you watch him. Score two yard touchdown pass touchdown. Runs for the Birmingham whatever's and then then you're watching that that leak okay couple of things one. The only Birmingham team I care about or will ever care about the Birmingham Barons. Second Yeah That was a giant missed opportunity because I actually weirdly thought the AFC presentation was very good. If you watched one of those games seems like you could be tricked into thinking like Oh this is showing a replay of an NFL. Game until you've been looked at the jerseys and all that but production values were great. I I thought the the commentators did a nice job it was well put together. It just wasn't engaging in any way I do I wanna hit this buffalo thing. Got Real quick again buffalo and Pittsburgh this weekend because I think this game is fascinating jujubes back James Connors back in this bills defense has just been playing out of his mind. Signed over the past couple of weeks and BEVANDA has the steelers minus one and a half at home. Who Do you like their Dakar? Progess seems to have done this. steelers offense I know they got the big punt return which which helped sort of propelled them to the lead against the cardinals and the elector defense different sort of takeover man that bills. The bills. Offense is the scariest part which is why the Brown thing. There's there's sort of the most intriguing. I kind of like a steelers at home in that game. The bills as as much as they controlled sort of Lamar Jackson. In for a part of that game they sort of broke down and they have some openings and I think I think the steelers right now are the better coach team. They've realized all the right ain't they've pushed all the right buttons with all the adversity that they faced against them. I'm not taking anything away. From what Sean McDermott done fellow Salam. I'm not I'm not taking anything away on what he's done from what he's done in buffalo mainly because I just. I don't think he's phenomenal job. I think he's been really excellent. Sort of turned around a franchise that was then. It'd been floundering for a very long time but I think that hard Tomlin just has he. Has This weird magic touch. I mean think about it Chris. What was a week five or six? We were talking about Mike Tomlin being fired by the steelers dealers and now all of a sudden they have a potential grasp but the six seed. It's IT'S A. It's a really interesting team right now. I kind of like the steelers fair enough I. It's an unfortunate end. The show anything pro Pittsburgh Butts. I don't begrudge your thoughts however wrong. They may be Gregory. I'll look it's it's been a another fun week here at you're wrong and here's why talked about a lot accomplished a lot. I nailed everything three and L. Once again and we're looking forth doing it again next week. Four Greg Chris Forward L.. Thanks for listening and we'll see you back here next week..

"We're the host of the shutdown full cast your avengers of college football podcast it says in the script to riff on what that means and basically what I mean is this all already unspoiled every Tuesday we talk about everything from cooking disasters to pro wrestling too unfashionable pants we warren middle school we also do talk about college football every now and then unlike mascot fights announcers fleeing the booth early and unfashionable pants that coaches were now if you want to take college football exactly as seriously as it should be taken bacon subscribe for free on Apple podcasts or in your favorite podcast APP yeah and we are back on the bruise on the boys podcast we're talking about the cowboys boys here thirty one to six victory over the Miami Dolphins. There are some folks out there. You Know Tom. Let's get into the cowboys just to finish rush up the game you know Tony. Pollard has a sixteen yard touchdown. The cowboys ended up winning thirty one to six Brett. Maher does miss a fifty five yard field goal but it's not that big of a deal just because because of how the cowboys had already been dominant you would hope that he would make something like that but oh well you know most. I think what was more hurtful for the you you know. Offense was some of the penalties that they had that were just kind of like playing a little bit playing a little bit undisciplined but the defense. I wanted to talk about the defense real quick and spend time on at Tom. Because I think that there's a much ado about nothing here with the defense because I really want to put something into perspective for folks out out there that are talking about well. The dolphins got the most yards ever this season against the cowboys and they just they were just dominating like it. It just looked easy for really really really not two hundred eighty. Three yards of total offense is dot a good performance. No no if you look at a stat line guys if you look at the numbers and you look at the way the game went after the after the second quarter and actually midway into the second quarter day were toast. They will shut down. The cowboys got got their feet under them. They shut it down and there's a couple of defensive statistics. I didn't even get to because the the doing the article just gets long and just sometimes stuff falls through the cracks. I didn't even notice the fact that the cowboys were only allowed three out of fifteen third down conversions yet which is exactly on they are exactly at twenty percent for the season on allowing third doubts Yep. That's outstanding in band is something the defense is doing very well. They don't give up a you know. Some decent plays on first and second down. They're probably going to get you off the field yet and let's talk about you know the lack what we've been hearing the lack of pass rush okay well. We saw the prelude freeload yesterday against the Miami Dolphins because Robert Quinn. I watched a watched a lot of this game and I can tell you almost on every single snap app they were either doubling demarcus Lawrence and chipping Robert Quinn or chipping demarcus Lawrence in doubling Robert Quinn because those guys were creating pressure. They had eleven quarterback quarterback hits. They only had three against Washington. They only had six against New York giants. They had three sacks against Miami. They also had two tackles for loss the they forced a fumble and like you said twenty percent on third down the only time that we're better this year on third down. This game against Miami was the first game against the New York giants eighteen percent zero percent red zone. Miami was over three in the red zone at Washington was one hundred percent in the red zone and New York was fifty percent. They allowed seventeen points in the first game twenty one points against Washington six points here. They are one of the top scoring defenses and for all of those folks that are out there kind of worried about how much yards they give up really okay. They're not they give up an average Tom of in this game against Miami they gave up an average twenty five yards per jive and it's this. Is there still some problems you know they need. We get some takeaways but you're talking about the fact that you know they. They had a Quin came in and got the Sax Rolling demarcus Lawrence got himself a sack back finally to end the game in between you see what's going to result from having quinten lawrence out there which was Malea Collins and Kerry Hyder mid at the quarterback quarterback of a got their pash rush from somewhere else yeah. Yes Oh this is what also to put some perspective on this as that. Let's not not forget that Byron Jones is coming off of an off season. Surgery demarcus Lawrence is coming off of an off season surgery tyrone Crawford. It's dealing with the hip thing you you know you're wrong. Quinn Robert Quinn has hand issue but he seems to be he was more worried. Yesterday Tom. About conditioning is what he said. Yeah and he was fine yeah. He did very well. don't get. Antoine Woods was out with an injury yeah. It's it's so there's and that was a key thing that I'm going to be you know. I talk about in another article later this week. Is that we you know. We thought this team had depth. I think we saw the yeah they've got a little depth here. Because with with two of their starters on the defensive line out route okay they did alright with the their wide receiver to out and a guy who by helped fill in and save on Austin. WHO's mainly a special teams also out well okay? It turned out they were fine. They still had a good day passing not a great day because as it turns out all of a sudden they've got real offensive balance in its effective offensive balance. A lot of teams treat that balances you know we're going to be roughly fifty fifty run in past well. You're runs are getting like three point one yards a carry. They're not really helping you. In the game. Dallas Dallas got fifteen first first downs running the ball that is effective running that is more than effective that has dominant that is dominating on. I that's dominating that and that's exactly what they've done this season and and you know we have to talk about the folks that are kind of out there trying to who oh well. It's the dolphins dude. Oh well. It's the it's the giants it's. The Washington redskins anytime that occurs. It makes me laugh because the cowboys are a reason these teams bad yeah. They're part of the reason. These teams are bed and you look at the Patriots. You know they haven't really faced any any competition yet these teams. Nobody knows what these teams are going to be. You know the Eagles as much as we're going to have a laugh at them at the end of this show save with at one into don't hang your heads. Eagles fans because the cowboys are three and five last year and came back and won the division at ten and six so so anything can happen if you can stay healthy if you can get going the packers who are surging at three you know what happens when they run into into a really fierce fierce defensive line that could put pressure on Aaron Rodgers again. That's it's going to be an issue so so when you look at this league and you just look at how everything's kind of falling into place and we talk about this. We try to do this every week. You guys it as much as we wring. Our hands is about the defense. It's it's a process for them but they are going to be better and it's not like they're even bad to begin with their owning allowing less than fifteen points per game on average allowing thirty three yards per drive in yeah. They're given up. They've given up explosive plays four in the first game two in the second three in this game but none went for touchdowns nine yeah yeah at at you know the fake because you have to look as as the complete thing and I think this year the defense is not going to have to carry the cowboys in many games because the offense is going to be doing the heaviest heaviest lifting is going to be the office. GonNa go down. Go out move the ball score. Some points and the defense's job is going to be stopped me of the team which which you know given the third down percentage of what they're doing in the red zone. I think they're more than capable of that. If the SAX in the takeaway start coming along they'll they'll all of a sudden you may be dominant on both sides of the ball yeah and you know there was a lot of talk about and I've seen it for Marcus Mosier on twitter Jalen. Smith's just not the Guy Hi that he was last year or whatever just that kind of stuff is bullshit because listen Jalen Smith had ten tackles yesterday and worst forced fumble who led the team in tackles. Come come on because he misses one tackle yet. Well you know what his forced fumble like. We mentioned turned the tide of the game turned the momentum. You knew coming out at halftime the cowboys just GonNa put the pedal to the metal and that's exactly what they did. And did you see those play. It was was a Jalen Smith didn't show up on the stat sheet but this was out on twitter they showed a thing where they brought Jalen Smith up and he rushed from. I don't know if it was the the one of the three position but he rushed from the defensive tackle position. He came up. I think he's dropped. Roy Quick put his hand on the ground around came in from there yeah and it was like Oh. There's a wrinkle for you if you if you want to look at something and get a little bit excited about what the defense can do. Hey your rookie tristen. Hill had to quarterback hits yesterday. Yeah you know that's something to build on dorrance. Armstrong to there were tackled for losses there in the giants game. They didn't have a single tackle for loss. Oh and Joe Jackson yet a pass by the down and so did Christian Covington. All of a sudden you look everyone of the defensive linemen that went in made a contribution exactly you know an an even Taco Charlton bless his heart on the other side. I was so kind enough to give him a nice little sack there. I don't care what Beck says. I know that was planned to history when they said Huckabee doorway and he said completion percentage. That's that was just savage. I loved it. I just let it completely singed. Come on baby. I try to try to have no uh-huh incomplete passes this this game what the cowboys have done like if we're gonNA talk about their quality of opponent well. What else did you want him to do..

"He was out there. Having a good time. And he came out when the club ended about. Five AM and the incident occurred a little after five AM where supposedly he allegedly knocked a fan knocked the phone out of the man's hand stopped on it and took it with them. Police later found him at his residence Monday afternoon, arrested him where he just posted bail of twenty twelve thousand five hundred just about an hour ago so net we're waiting to see when he gets reigned in the next coming next couple of days coming up, and you know, one thing to note we Conor McGregor. He had his incident in Brooklyn involving the bus incident. He had that incident close in the case was closed. So there are going to be no residual effects of that involving probation. But he does have another serious potentially legal issue to handle down here in Miami Beach. Police said McGregor slap the phone out of the man's hand. And then he stomped on several times as you heard. He was released on twelve thousand five hundred dollars bail Monday night. Sportscenter allnight, ESPN radio back to the NFL. Nick. Foles as an agreement with the Jaguars four-year deal fifty million in guaranteed money. According to our Adam Schefter, former giant safety. Landon Collins telling our Anderson hill sign with Washington six years forty five million in guaranteed money ESPN analyst booger McFarland. Well, I think he's gonna fit. Well, if you look at what the risk is do they play cover three type scheme, meaning only one safeties ha DJ swearing or he played at or near the line of scrimmage. I think they're gonna use Landon Collins in a similar way, he's an impactful safety. I don't think of him as a cover safety. He is a playmaker. When you paid this much money for a safety. You're gonna put him in position where he can make plays. He's gonna make a lot of place for the risk. And they're going to use them in the right way. He's going to be a premier guy. The highest paid safety and an NFL now bag bag. You got to work out badly his teammate. Josh Norman the highest paid corner. In Washington right now. How 'bout Jacksonville this is going to happen? But it's almost a festival the agreement is in place eight million dollars over four years for Nick foles to new starting quarterback in the Jacksonville Jaguars the guaranteed money. Adam says fifty point one two five bucks, that's a lot. What's your reaction? Well, first of all Jacksonville needed a quarterback, Blake Bortles experiment was about two years too long. And I think for them they had to find someone to give this team hope, and I think that's what Nick foles did in Philadelphia. Some people in Philadelphia wanted him more than Carson Wentz. Thank you. If you're Jacksonville. What's you're hoping for is a quarterback that can stabilize your offense not turn to football over in? You've your defense. Hope Blake Bortles took away. All hope he was not good. And I think that's something. They wanted to take out of the organization now you bring foes in. I'm just not sure he's the guy. I would have gotten no raiders, meanwhile, making moves including Antonio Brown, of course, earlier on ESPN radio, Marcus mosier, the managing editor of raiders wire on the will Cain show. I'm just trying to see what the project is if the. Project is we got Antonio Brown. Let's rehab this thing the short term one. I go all the way and get you running back when I get Levy on bell and make the Steelers west. Oh, I certainly think that's a possibility. I I just think they want to see what the market is for levian. They also want to see what's going on with marshawn Lynch because I think ultimately, that's that's the the number one option for that. Lynch is still the heart and soul that team. And if he wants to return if you want to play for another season, they're going to have him back. But if if he decides to move on or retire, I think they'll has to be option number one program. So what in your estimation, Marcus? We're talking to Marcus mosier, managing editor at raiders wire. If if you said a few months ago, we thought this was a three to four year rebuild. What do you think? The plan is now is it rea- Bill Tate, David car. Give him a Derek Carr. Give him a last chance with better weapons. Invest in offense because you pointed out Trent Brown as well neglect defense like make make offense are foothold. What is like if you're looking at this and said, here's the blueprint. What is it right now? I think it should be a fun exciting team heading into Vegas. I really think. That's that's the goal here. They're not gonna be as playoff team next year even with Antonio Brown. Even with you know, the top four draft picks in the top thirty five they're just too far away. But I do think they want to be a team that is considered fun. They could attract for your free agents in Vegas. I think that's the new plan for for Jon Gruden and Mike and the raiders continuing to make moves former Rams franchise safety, lamarcus Joyner planning to sign a four year deal with the raiders, according to our Adam Schefter, the Rams and Joyner unable to come to a long term agreement. He played last season on the franchise tag earned eleven and a quarter million intercepted one pass ranked third on the team with seventy eight tackles eagles acquiring Sean Jackson from the buccaneers he'll reunite with the team that drafted him in two thousand eight the jets will sign former Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr. I just think they want to see what the market is for levian. They also want to see what's going on with marshawn Lynch because I think ultimately, that's that's the the number one option for them. Lynch is still the heart and soul that team. And if he wants to return it'd be wants to play for another season they're going to have him back. But if if he decides to move on or retire, I think bell has to be option number one program. So what in your estimation markets are talking Marcus mosier, the MENA janitor at raiders wire. If if you said a few months ago, we thought this was a three to four year rebuild. What do you think? The plan is now is it rehabilitate David car give him or Derek Carr. Give him a last chance with better weapons. Invest in offense because you pointed out Trent Brown as well neglect defense like make make offense are foothold. What is like the if you're looking at this and said, here's the blueprint. What is it right now? I think it's to be a fun. Exciting team heading into Vegas. And I really think that's that's the goal here. They're not going to be a playoff team next year even with Antonio Brown. Even with you know, the top four draft picks in the top thirty five they're just too far away. But I do think they want to be a team that is considered fun. They could attract free agents in Vegas. I think that's the the new plan for for Jon Gruden and Mike and the raiders continuing to make moves former Rams franchise EP lamarcus Joyner planning to sign a four year deal with the raiders, according to our Adam Schefter, the Rams and Joyner unable to come to a long term agreement.
