"The season? No, well, I'll stick with it because of 37 games to go. Wow. But what's going to change? You've just spent the whole last ten minutes laughing them. But yeah, it looks really bad, but I think the one thing that the reason why I put them in the top four is because I didn't think they could be as bad as last year. I thought people like Marcus Rashford shared the would be better. Now rashford started yesterday like his conferences as fragile as ever. Now, hopefully if you notice, these players will at some point find a way. But they look a long, long way short. Don. Well, I'll take you back to last season, Dan. And Ralph Rangnick didn't get anything right, you know, in his comments and how the football was played and improving players. But he said one thing that probably stands correct, as you're sitting here, watching money united now. And he said that's to the 5 mil loss against Liverpool. We need ten players. He said, we need ten players. And you see the list that's just being put up before. 8 players have gone and threes come in. So far for any exciting ten players are needed and they ship out 8 and only bring three in, their miles beyond, he also said in his quotes, not mine he went. We are 6 years away from Liverpool. And you're watching it the weekend, same old players. So what's going to change? That's why when I do my predictions at the start of the season, I had them in 7th because I don't see a path from a good manager who's managing the same players and probably a little bit less quality. I'm thinking what is going to change and nothing changed against Brighton at the weekend from oligarch or rough around you. Speaking of changes, of course, when we initially asked you who was going to win the league, you said Manchester City then saw Liverpool beat them in the community shield. I'm just wondering off the back of what we saw in the opening weekend on. If you were going to change your

Buckhead Residents Want to Secede From Atlanta

"The wealthy suburbs that are paying all of the tax base and they're the ones that are funding the police and the fire department, but they're the ones not getting the services. They're not getting the protection of the police department because the police officers are busy taking care of crime elsewhere in the city. And a group of folks in one of the suburbs in a place called Buckhead, which really is a beautiful area of super wealthy. You have Linux bowl, you have some incredibly wealthy shops and Neiman Marcus and those kinds of places. So it's very Tony section of Atlantic. Kind of like maybe and I know our folks in games will Georgia and the north, Georgia suburbs might be able to help us out here with this, but it's almost like the Beverly Hills of Atlanta. So you have a lot of wealthy people, a lot of celebrities, music stars, athletes, and they live in this area. And the folks of Buckhead are saying, you know what? We're done. We are done. We're done with the crime. It's unbelievable how many shootings there have been at Linux mall, which again is a high dollar high end mall. But you have all these people coming in from the city. They're taking the subway and they've got a subway stop right there at the ball, and they come up, they call all sorts of mayhem, start shooting people up and then they get back on the subway and they go back home. And now the people in Buckhead are saying, yo, we're done here. We want to secede from the state or from the city of Atlanta. And we've had the people involved in this campaign, the guy in charge is named Bill white. And their argument is that they need the right to be able to create their own police force and that they're concerned that the defund the police movement has really weakened the Atlanta police department. If You Want to Be Better, Fight for It

"Politics may be out of control, things may seem that they're going in the wrong direction. However, God is still in control, so no matter what it is, you can rest assure that it's going to be all right. God got this taken care of. There's a lot of things that we can use in this moment. To learn from, to grow from a lot of adversity that may come your way, it's happening to you so that you can become a better person on the other side. This is my pitch to everybody that is listening that if you want to become better and the difference between you and the person next to you that may become better is that if you take this as an opportunity and you come out on the other side victorious and you fight and you weather the storm, things will go well for you. If you do not and you sit around and make excuses and you have this idea of what was me, you're gonna come out on the other side and be hurting. I said this very same thing in 2020. And it was the young man that I listened to, there was a Christian. I think his name is Marcus Rogers. He said, dad, God gave him a message. That, in 2020, it's going to be a reckoning for some people. If you persevere if you hold true to the values you fight through it, you're going to come out on the other side and be victorious and there's going to be others that do not.

"Move on to pro choice activists, firebombs, three pregnancy centers. Now, what sense does it make? And this is why I think that the left is out of control fighting fascism with fascism fighting racism with racism, fighting bigotry with being bigots themselves. How in the world are you pro choice or at least you care about the lives of young women and their children if you're blowing up pregnancy centers? Now let's put this in the context ladies and gentlemen, Planned Parenthood is an abortion clinic. I don't care what they claim that they do on the side hustle. They are doing abortions. When you want to terminate life and you want to end a Planned Parenthood, then you go to Planned Parenthood to do it. Marcus Sanger, which was the founder of Planned Parenthood was a eugenicist and a racist. Everybody in their mama know that. You don't have to believe me. I gotta do is go do Google research right now. And take a little bit of search 'cause you know they don't want it on the Internet, but she was a eugenicist. All you gotta do is look at her quotes. She believes that we should exterminate the undesirable, and at the time she believed the undesirable was the black children being born. That's why you see playing parenthood's in inner city communities and why black women are having abortions at a higher rate than any other race in the United States of America.

The Left's Hold on the Black Community Is Coming to an End

"I want to get right to our guest. Someone who I have an amazing amount of respect for, I read basically everything he puts out. If there's an op-ed by this man, I read it. He's kind of the senior Professor of the conservative movement, and we are honored to have this great patriot with us today. Newt Gingrich, mister speaker, welcome back to the program. Thank you for that warm introduction. As long as you say those nice things, I'll always show up. Well, then we have a deal. So I want to talk about your piece. Democrats hold on the black community is ending, this is something that people have been talking about for a couple years. It was a wonderful piece, walk our audience through it. Well, we've been working on a project that Bernie Marcus launched back in 19 18, looking at the question of could you find an American majority that would be large enough and stable enough that you could really get the big things done we need to get this country back on the right road. And because of my background, both working with Ronald Reagan and then with the contract with America in creating the first Republican House majority in 40 years, we had sort of an instinct for how to do this. What's happened, of course, is that Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer mean, let's be fair. They all work together. They've created such a bad performance record at levels people feel. There was a brilliant article the other day by Selena zito, who's one of the great students of American politics. And she said, she was interviewing people in small towns in western Pennsylvania who said to her, look, I can't find baby formula without going to four or 5 stores. And I can't afford the gasoline to go to four or 5 stores. So Joe Biden is hitting me and every possible way. And I think what all that's doing is we have to remember, African Americans are as pocket sensitive as Latinos or Asian Americans or for that matter, caucasians. And they're looking out there that say, it ain't working.

"Asleep. Totally agree and I'm I'm honestly the worst meditate Marcus and I know that you're not supposed to say that no, you can't be bad at meditation but I know there are people out there listening that agree with me and they're like Dan I'm really bad at meditation. But what I've realized is it's not it's not the goal isn't to have a meditation session and get to this crazy chic mind. State every single time because that's not gonNA happen every single time. That's what I've realized. The goal is, did I do my meditation today Yes or no doesn't matter what happened in the meditation or if I was successful or not. The only thing that matters is that I did it and I think if you measure yourself against the efforts that you're putting in rather than the results that can really help. It takes the pressure off for sure and. Even, before but between stimulus and response, there is a gap is what Viktor Frankl says, and that meditation is, what allows us to Elongate that gap to give us more opportunity to act to be response able able to respond properly. And again, just like with working out. We don't get stronger then. So even the meditation session if all I'm doing is losing focus coming back to my breath losing focus coming back to my breath. I was still able to create that space between seamless from response. It may not be as a parent but if something happens today when I need to be able to use that it will be Really, become obvious if you've been doing it or not. So fantastic point as well. "Welcome back to the conscious leaner epic achievers show I'm your host Marcus, release Anderson and I'm here with my great guest Rachel Richards. Thank you so much for joining us today. We are both under to have you as the listener and as a reminder, check out the show notes and everything about today's episode consciously inner epic achiever. Dot? com. Now. Rachel before the break we were talking about a lot of things about how to be better prepared for something like this. Is there a twenty four hour challenge that we could give our listeners right now the you will feel would make an impact on their financial stability. Absolutely I would say this is a little bit abstract but I would say the twenty four hour challenge is to stop everything that you're doing and US twenty four hours to journal and reflect and meditate in think I read a book recently called Willpower doesn't work by I. Think Ben Hardy and he talked about having really intense periods of productivity and achieving your goals. But interspersing really intense of rest and reset in recharging. That has something that I've. Failed as a human being as an entrepreneur in the past and I'm trying to get better at that. You know they say all entrepreneurs are workaholics. That's very true. but it's it's not until we set aside that time to reflect and meditate and journal and think. If we don't have that time, we're not gonNA. Grow and improve. So from money manager management perspective. If you don't set aside the time to just slow down and say, you know what? Let me take a look at what's going on with my finances? Where am I not happy with going on? Where can I do better? What am I really doing well? What are my money fears motivations what? What values did I grow up with around money because those questions are the most important questions to change the way that you act around money. Some not talking about some short term quick fix bandits solution. If you WANNA change, your money habits and change your belief in mindset, those are the questions you need to think Oh and it's not until you slow down, stop everything that you're doing that you're gonNA actually give yourself the space to analyze some of those things and come out better person on the other side. Those. Great Advice. Especially at this time right now, anxiety is choosing not to choose. So if you're in a place right now where you have time on your hands. Or you feel furloughed or you're cooped up and you just want to kind of deaden sensation by watching TV, or eating a of junk food. It's probably not gonNA help you talking going to help you get closer not only to clarity but to a place, you want to be in any way shape or form, and I love that book that you mentioned because it's so true if we don't allow space if we known allow capacity. If you ever notice when you have a big breakthrough, it's hardly ever in the middle of something. It's usually when you're away from it while you're taking a walk washing the dishes, take a shower after a workout whatever it is because now your mind has a chance to process this, and it's the same way. If lifting weights, you don't get stronger during the workout you grow outside of the gem you grow and that place of rest and I liked that you bring that kind of emotional component..

"That's that's not going to help her I have to be able to speak with her from love and empathy, but also give her that ability to understand that. You know this sucks right now, but there is a giftedness adversity. In the center versity. You may not be able to see it now, but start thinking forward how you're going to be stronger how you're going to evolve and what steps you can start taking now so that. If something dire does happen again. You're prepared as opposed to just because that's why everybody right now is caught in their almost in this denial sage. And whether it be with their business or their personal life, there's so much to that, but if you can explore adversity if he can become close to it for me when I was paralyzed. I died on the table and I was suicidal. But I couldn't act on it because of my physicality so I had no other choice other than to sit there with that. And see okay. This wound is open. What can I learn? What is it trying to show me? What causes when what's in here and it forty years old? There's no way I would have spent four months doing that any other way, so that's why it's so important to become accustomed, maybe not comfortable with Versi, at least understanding that it's there. You can look at it and say. You know I see you. I'm not afraid of you and you're not gonNA. Stop me from my mission. And Marcus the value to me is obvious. The value of the furnace of adversity is obvious first of all. That's where all the stories come from. That's where all the lessons come from like like if you are I. Hadn't been through through what we've been through up into this point. We would not be having this conversation together. We wouldn't have any stories. Okay, so that's number one. That's where the stories come from number two is think about adversity as as in another way, another opportunity that you have is is once you develop these stories, and once you develop. These tools think about how much better you're going to. To be able to help other people in the future agay so Y-. That's another valuable thing about it, and you need a focus on these things when you're going through these these moments and say man I'm going to have so many great stories. I'm going to be able to help so many people once I. Come out the other end of this and you know that's what I try to focus on. Anytime you know life happens. Is this is why we're able to sit here and have this conversation and provide value to other people? This is why this is why we have become the teacher now and we are on our journey to becoming the master. Okay, because we have to teach others in order to ever become the master of anything, so we're essentially on that journey right now by having this conversation, but if you don't if you don't think about those things during those uncertain times than it is easy to get overwhelmed, but just remember the value is, it's obvious. And like you say it's almost as if..

How are you my friend? All Mouth Standing today rather in nights. Honor to be here with you Thank you so much for having me all marcus. Marcus looking forward to the conversation man. Yeah, I as you were saying before we hit record, love the synergy. Love the direction you're going and adversity binds us so I think that when I find people that are really waxing poetic about the power of adversity is a tool. It's right up my alley and I absolutely have to to get in there and learn more about them, and the more I learn about you. It was even more more compelling. What are the things I love talking about? And I've had nick on. Here's you know and I've had JP two nil other seals before, but it's interesting because. Once you get beyond just the exterior and the mental toughness of the seal. There is so much more to that person, and that's what I love and packing and I were talking before about how. Some people like to fixate simply on that really hard exterior of the seal, which is necessary as a warrior to survive to continue with the mission to protect your your team, but. Why is that not sustainable? And why is trying to have this hard mentality something that is ultimately going to be self defeating if you try to continue with it on the long term. That's a great question. Mark is saying you know Afghanistan I've got a coin to term dead I live my life by to be hard when it gets hard, so I think all of us says as leaders. Need to have a place inside of us where we can go in order to get the job done when times get hard, and you ask you know. Why is it not sustainable to be hard or to try to.

"And now that's therein lies the journey, but like you say a lot of people, especially the ones that are doing the hey, I'm mark, you WanNa, buy my stuff. They're going to try to sell you this shortcut. But I think a lot of people don't understand that anything with having takes time. And if you're wanting to build something overnight, it will probably fall overnight as well. Absolutely. Yeah, and the all the only way to. The only way, it's so unfortunate. Right the only way to change your mindset and your belief in yourself is to take action against your mind in your belief in yourself. There is no easy way now. There's the people and the people that are trying to tell you. There's an easy way are the ones that are usually trying to sell you something in the process? Obviously yeah. And that's how that goes. And then you were talking about a book that you love that you think would be great for our listeners. What book was that? So the There's three of said. He nailed it down to one so the book that changed. My life is is a book. called a child called it. and. It's by a man named David Pelzer who is on putting it out into the universe on your show and I've put it on quite a few other interviews. That I've done as a man that I. Debt coathanger right I. Know that we have to listen to the rest of the interview now. I think that's a great book, and that's a great way to get started on. I've got written down myself so I can actually explore that letter, and so where can our listeners go to learn more about you about purpose chasers about all the things that you're doing? Where can you direct them and tell us more about what you do to to help? Provide value to. Yeah, so I mean. If you're listening to Marcus's podcasts, I would say simple way to get get in my world, and and learn more about me is to perpetrators podcast, and that's where I pour in all like all that I do for free and for fun and you know all the ways to find out more about me, and here's the reason why some people. The podcast was sent to the podcast and see if like you even like what I have to say. You know like don't I. Don't WanNa waste your time. What it is you do, but more to the point you and I were talking about relationships how to not build a relationship. What do you think especially when it comes to digital marketing? What do you think is the biggest misconception when it comes to building something like that? You build these six-figure businesses. What does that biggest misconception when it comes to creating that relationship and how to cultivate a properly? Yeah I, think there. There's been a lot of emphasis in the influencers space. If you will in the consulting space of you, know once you once you've built a seven figure funnel once you make the million dollar funnel, then you'll have arrived. And it's the thoughts actions in behavior that go behind that right, so it's kind of the line of it's not the. It's not the the money that defines the man. It's how the man made the money. The defines the man and. What is happening in the marketing space is most people have this, but they have this mentality. That is like hey, my name's. Do you want to pay me money now? Hey, my name's mark. You WanNa. Pay Me Money. Hey, my name's mark. Do you WANNA pay money? Yes, you do awesome. It takes practice, view and argument as a chance to see things from a different, possibly more enlightened perspective. One that you wouldn't have ever seen otherwise. Yes, it's an easy concept to read. Understand and agree with yet. It can be difficult to put into practice. Am I saying that you should unnecessarily put yourself in serious danger that we should risk life and limb to try to find a gift and data adversity. Of course not. We must ever forget the anything in excess eventually becomes. It's opposite. "Welcome back to the conscious. Minor achiever show. I'm your host. Marcus Release Anderson and I'm here with our featured guest Jonathan Horton. Thank you so much for joining us today. We are honored to have as and listener and as a reminder. Check out the show notes about everything. Today's episode at Conscious Leaner EPOCA CHEAPER DOT COM and also go to Marcus Aurelius Anderson Dot Com. So now it's time for the twenty four hour challenge. Jonathan we've talked about some really powerful stuff already. What would be a single piece of advice that our listeners can start applying right now in the next twenty four hours they would help them get to the next level whether it be in their business or their personal development. Riven the relationships. So I'll give a our listeners. The same twenty four hour challenge that I have been giving Some friends and family and other people that I've been speaking to by twenty four hour challenges to do this little thing that I love to do every single day. I believe that personal health and fitness is so valuable to your success Regardless of where you are on your health or fitness journey every time you walk in or out of Your House today. Find some little bit of fitness to do so some days. Every time I go through any door in my house I go to five call. Ups When I leave my house I'll do twenty pushups so my twenty four hour challenges to get yourself moving. Stay moving oftentimes. We we sit down. And we start typing. We start working and we never get ourselves booming. Therefore our brain just doesn't function the way that it could so for all of our listeners. Today get up every time you walk through a door. Pick one exercise that you can do that. Takes you? Twenty thirty seconds those beautiful. That's very useful very pragmatic and again. Especially if you're sitting down just moving your body changes the biochemistry in your brain makes you think better. It makes you elevate your mood at does so many things and again as entrepreneurs sometimes they are very guilty of sitting down quite a bit because their their job consists of them just sitting down or even on their phones the process so as a great piece of advice we were also talking about your favorite book earlier. Could you tell us what that is? And why so sentimental to you and why it really impacts you. Yeah my favorite book. It's it's an Oldie but it's a good eats called lone survivor. They made a movie about a out of it. it's with Mark Wahlberg amazing movie about a guy named Marcus Latrell and So I the whole book is really about Never giving up and basically being willing to die before you quit the journey And I often find myself thinking my my life. My family my kids my wife. Everything is on the line and I'm not willing to quits and what. I'm trying to protect them I will. I will literally give up my life for my family. My goals And I oftentimes think about that story and Lone survivor of those Navy. Seals going out there giving their lives for their country. But Marcus Latrell you know being in a situation of being shot at and going through an awful situation but he never gives up and I just I love the book. I love the highly recommend it. I absolutely agree. I love the book. I love the movie and again that that warrior mentality is is absolutely necessary especially if we have big goals we have big ambitious streams and I also love the. You're saying that with your family for your goals because you have to have like. Berry very bright lines about was truly a priority to you. And what's not and I think that's something else I I like what you do. Your mindset is very much of this idea that if it doesn't fit into this box then it doesn't fit in my life. You just kind of let everything else fall away because we have to. We can't do everything we have to be able to do. The things that are really important to us and not anything else you were saying earlier about how a lot of people that are in this entrepreneurial journey for example there maybe not as patient as they could be. Is there another piece of advice? You hear continually repeated. That is just horrible advice but we always here in the same arena over and over again. There is a lot of bad advice out there. That's for sure there's out of you know especially you know I'll go back to the social media world You hear so many conflicting things should I go to college? Should not go to college. Do I get a mentor? Do not get into our. Do I spend ten thousand dollars on a Tony Robbins seminar? Do I not you do your own research. You do your own studies and figure out what journey fits your life where you know because we all have different places in our lives. I've met people that are starting their entrepreneurial journeys at thirteen years old and I've met people that are sixty five years old better. Starting their journeys If you're thirteen you don't have ten thousand dollars for a Tony Robbins seminar. So don't worry about it you know. Find Your own. Find Your own Pat I'LL GIVE YOU KINDA. Goofy gymnastics analogy Hopefully this makes sense. I Say I've never tried to explain this before. But it popped into my head. There is a skill on the parallel bars. Like in many sports skills are named after the first person that ever did it. And there's a guy with the last name starts that did this skill you a half turn you fly up in the air and then you catch yourself in a handstand. Well doing the skill when I was probably thirteen fourteen years old and I kinda did it. A little wonky. That's the best way to explain it. But I was catching the hand. Every single time and I had a rushing coach named her and he looked at me said John. Stop worrying about that. It's not way is supposed to be done. There's no wrong stu ten stance and I was like. Aw I guess I am technically doing the skill the way it's supposed to be done just not like everybody else and hopefully that since to everybody. That's listening if you are getting to where you WANNA go but it's not like everybody else. There's no wrong way to do it. and so that's that's my. I guess to answer your question with a really long answer is you. Don't have to follow a specific tat and a lot of people out there. Were saying this is the way to do it. It's not true. Find Your own way. That's your way see. That's that's incredible. Because that's what makes you look unique. What makes you said away from everybody else? That's there are many past the top of the mountain so by creating your own category and doing your own version of the skill. You can still win. And you don't have to worry about competing with other people on the process and again that may driscoll said that much more unique compared to everybody else. That was trying to do it so again. You know you kind of follow the guidelines. You can You can want to be I'll use the example again. You can you can want to be Tony Robbins And you can follow. Maybe the path that he sat in front of you. But you don't have to stay right on the pat you just gotTa Kinda weave in and out of it figure out your own route as long as you're going in the same direction. This is likely at once. You had that self-knowledge and you have your own kind of compass. You can go any direction you want to. As long as you couple it with a work ethic you were talking about so. That's so powerful Jonathan. Where can people find out more about you if if they want to hire you to speak at their event or if they want to find out more about what you're up to can they find you? Yes I'm all over social media That you can follow me on twitter. J. Underscore Horton eleven or on instagram. At J Horton Eleven. I also give out my email. Everybody's my personal email. "I love your instagram account. As well as fantastic stuff. There's so much that you've done and there's so many things that I know that you're proud of but could you share with me. The thing that you're most proud of from all that you're doing in your life and your work and in your endeavors. Yeah so that's a great question you know. I've done a lot of achieved a lot. Lotta have a lot of financial freedom. I came from a very middle of the middle class. Background but what I'm proud of of the most is how I've changed the way I look at life like what I'm proud of. The most is how far my inner personal journey has been so I was a high school kid that was rebellious. I got thrown out of a few high schools. I was Kinda dumb and reactive and very anti authority possibly from having a great Green Bay father. I'm not sure but I bet that had something to do with it and then also I was also fearful. I was not super social. I was sort of you know Insecure and then I would also you know had a lot of self doubt and I felt like I procrastinate a lot so that was all fifteen to twenty and then over many years of adventure and of work and discipline of training and teaching. I've turned that around where I'm highly confident. Highly goal driven and really. I think well balanced in the way that I I put the effort into my children and my wife and my health and contribution and I think the thing. I'm proudest of Marcus is my mindset. The amount of effort put into shifting my mindset from one that was not functional. The rebel who got in trouble smoked a lot of weed and did stuff even going to bars and drinking too much even my twenties. And just don't do any of that anymore. I'm like it doesn't work for me and the willingness to be able to grow and change and say hey. This doesn't work for me anymore and I need to change it. I don't think a lot of people do that. I think a Lotta people fall into patterns. And they just Kinda get stuck and they think that you know going to the bar every night on a Saturday is the thing to do are watching football religiously as the thing to do or working religiously the thing to do whatever it is and I think that that I appreciate the child if I look back. The kid in me that was willing to remain curious remain open minded and willing to know that. I don't know it all in that someone else may have something better to offer me and then absorbing that and applying it in my life so that's probably the the thing I'm most proud of powerful and now it's time to dig deeper. You'LL WANNA stay to come back after this short break when David is borne talks about how he was able to turn his adversity into an opportunity. This jv.

I think the insights that you offer already just been powerful. There was something that I wanted to ask you about. There's so many people that I know that will turn their. Adversity enabled channel into something that is something positive. They'll find opportunity or a lesson within that almost like you're mentioning with suffering before and I don't know if you realize what today's date was but on this date. "We are honored to have you as a listener so jerry. We were just talking about meditation before. They're all kinds of different sorts of meditation and there are some meditations for we lead our minds sort of untangle where we let the the. Water Nabi as muddy but there are other meditations where people are trying to either think of a Cohen. They're they're trying to get to a certain place. What sort of meditation do you experience? Which would you recommend for people that are trying to find that clarity? I'm smiling. I see the rice mile. Marcus do you WANNA get it right. Love to try to get it right. It's a practice for your. Your question reminds me of my first Meditation Instruction Class and We were all sitting very very much like children in kindergarten. Class where sitting very earnestly intent on getting it right. There's thirty forty of us. Instructors stands up and gives us this the simplest of instruction we sit for. I don't know two or three minutes. And then he asked okay. Who in a room wanted to the a about thirty hands? Not You know I. I'm resisting answering the question because I think that there is a there. Tends to before I give you my answer to your question. I'll say this. I think that there is a tremendous amount of emphasis on technique and what gets lost as the experience of the dorm. Form is emptiness emptiness is form and so when we sit. I like to think about what the intention of sitting practices and to me. Sitting practice is not intended to be better tomorrow than it was today. We sit for life off the cushion. We sit so that are experience of being human is less painful and so sometimes the thing that helps that is to sit with an object of meditation such as a mantra or Cohen. Sometimes it is to just bring your attention to your body. Just pay attention to your body so that you can reinforce the capacity to come back to the present. Sometimes you'll focus on breath but I always get a little wary of the folks who are trying to get it right because what? What's the belief behind getting it right Marcus? A lot of people are doing it with an expectation. Or they're they're hoping like you said that they'll get better than they did yesterday or that this will get them closer to. And what's the fundamental belief about self that they have when they're trying to get it right but they're accomplishing something that there's some sort of external metrics leisure. Yes yeah absolutely right. That they're fundamentally wrong and that they're doing it wrong. I mean I think about all the people that I encounter her. Trying to use meditation and mindfulness these days in in some way and the basic belief system is that. I am in pain. And there's something wrong with me when the most important teaching from the Buddha is. There's nothing wrong with you. What but.

It doesn't have the same sort of impact but if you can explain to them listen. I'm human listen. I've gone through hardship. Listen I'm going through hardship even now. That helps them understand it. Yeah you're relatable and that you're human and we all go through this and that's what makes your work so powerful early. I think one of the things to keep in mind is that we will all face challenging adversity at some point in time. And as I know you're GONNA ask me to share some of my story and things I've been through professionally and personally I'll do it. I'm an open book but you know we all have a story right. I'm not the only one with a story. You're not every person watching you have story. So oftentimes we have to shift our perspective back to that tough stuff that we've been through exerts often where we clearly understand. That's where our greatest strength was developed was through the painful periods of time. Not Through The Times that everything was. Oh my gosh. Phasing markets was so great. That's where I built my strike. No it's typically through the pain. Yeah painting discomforted the best teachers and they don't pony punches when we're in the middle of it so you're absolutely correct and that was something new people they ask a lot of times they'll say. Lurgi talks about mindset our talks about P. PERFORMANCE. Coaching but a lot of people don't know what that is. Could you give us a little bit better definition? Because clearly what you're doing you wouldn't be with all these companies and all these teams and have the kind of track work that you do. Ls What you were doing was actually something pragmatic that you can put into play. Can you give us kind of an idea what that really looks like prevalent but people? Yes I often when I share the mental training tools in the work that we do. I'll give free gift all the listeners. Later don't let me forget that part. I'll I'll make sure we'll get a free book outs everybody with these tools but you know most of the things that. I discussed their very basic. The application of them consistently is the tough part and one of the first rules of sports psychology. Even if we got people out there don't like sports. This applies to everybody but it's interesting is one of the first rule sports psychology for an athlete to perform at their highest level. They cannot solely rely on their natural talents and abilities. They have to understand the mental toughness side of what it takes to achieve peak performance. So I always have discussions around blending those two worlds. We all have natural talents crate at but if we're only focused on utilizing and growing those areas not understanding what it takes to get up off that Matt. One more time than we'd been knocked down we may actually never experience what true peak performance looks like for us and so true. I've done martial arts my whole life and there have been many people that have been natural athletes and you'll see them shine when they're in like a controlled environment but when you put him under the lights when you put an opponent up there who's going to give them everything they have not really even respect them and just come towards them. You can see where it's talent can only go so far without that mental resilience without that belief without with that ability to actually embrace hardship and adversity. That's when they start to crumble and fall apart at the seams and all of a sudden they don't believe in themselves they they just kind of beat themselves in the process and that's a really sad thing to watch on the field or in the rain and we often talk about standard over feelings. Which I think is what you're referencing here. It's don't allow your feelings to dictate how you show up even when you have pain even when you have tough periods of time you have to have a willingness to continue to live to the standard and that standard is what causes you to have success if we live to our feelings and that's positive and negative yesterday was bad. I don't WanNa do it or yesterday was.

Listen I'M GONNA GONNA give you some examples of why I'm coach but I I'd like to thank you all for your support in my first season. Because of you consciously inner epic achiever is now a top top one hundred podcast and multiple categories and. Don't worry season two will be taken things to a higher level in two thousand twenty now onto the lesson as she spoke. Her voice was very shaky but nonetheless very sincere. The woman on the other lines voice had cracked mid-sentence. Then she finally. I said I don't know how you brought the man that I married back to me and I can't thank you enough. Does what my clients wife said to me on the phone and when I first started coaching this client. We began as we do with all clients from the ground up. We discussed the things that he wanted to change to improve his life and business the areas where he felt stuck his biggest goals were and began to create plans based on those areas. But frankly that's just the beginning of our journey in order to achieve these things more. We must begin by improving an area that many considered trivial. They consider it trivial because they don't know how powerful what is. What did I help him with as called mindset and a dictates everything that we do in life my client wanted more financial angel freedom to sell his business though he doubted it and have a better relationship with his wife? He said the reason that they as a couple of been going through the motions so much for the last few years was was because of financial stress. Now Michelangelo once said the greatest danger for most of US lies not insulting our aim too high and fallen short but rather and setting our aim to low and actually achieving our mark Comparis- often mentioned his favourite paraphrase from paypal co founder. Peter Thiel that asks. Why can't you achieve your goals in six months? This is an excellent thought exercises. The causes us to radically change our thinking not only about the problem but also about how we see potential solutions instead of working so hard to climb over or dig under a seemingly insurmountable obstacle a change in mindset can show us how to simply walk around or circumvent the obstacle entirely in the example example of achieving a ten year goal. In six months. It helps us go from a conceptual notion to a specific desired outcome and makes us did take what are definitive fitted goal is and ten years for example but he went to have their house paid off X. amount of dollars saved in the bank their 401k retirement from their current jobs etcetera CETERA. These are things that can be measured which means that they are efforts towards which the goals can be managed this is where mindset comes into play client kept saying that the things that he wanted we're just going to take too long and he basically given up on the options of doing anything other than doing his time. Eilly I asked my client that your kids are grown. And you've moved out of the house. Do you really need that big of a house. Why are you saying here? Is it possible that you'd be happier in a smaller home. That's paid off. He paused deep in thought for some time finally he replied well. I never thought of it like that. I thought we needed to stay in this house. Because that's what everybody else around me seem to be doing. His two children were out of college married and and moved away for new employment. He realized that holding onto his house was more of a burden than a blessing. He was excited and frankly he couldn't wait to talk to his wife about the idea and she was absolutely thrilled about the notion of moving to a smaller home with their current home equity they were able to not only by a smaller home outright. They now had enough money as a cushion for my client to sell his company comfortably. He was able to retire early while still have money in the bank. In fact the house they was within half an hour drive from both of their children's homes one of which is expecting their first child. This newfound freedom is what made in my client's wife say that I brought the man that she had married back home to her. But of course I've done nothing sort. All I've done is help him. Think think differently about his company has gold and what was genuinely important to him in his life. I helped him with something very simple. That most overlook looking at businesses in the same way is no different with my experience in process. I've helped seven-figure businesses double their income in a year and helped other businesses go from seven figures to eight by changing the paradigm and their beliefs about leadership culture and operating systems. We were able to revolutionize their company company making the previous model antiquated and obsolete by comparison. So what did I do to help my client these other companies as call mindset and a dictates everything that we do in our life the end of the lesson. And that's why this epic coaching lessons going to cover the top ten things that I've learned from my first fifty episodes and I want to get to you the listener. The first thing that I learned and this is these are all things that I've learned from all of these guests on my first of the episodes. The ferry thing that I learned lesson number one is that hard work is is not enough. In fact it's the bare minimum now during my interview with Artie Syndicate member. CEO of the Three Sixty Five driven coaching embezzling the author of the book. side-hustle millionaire my good friend Tony. Wally told of how when he first started working. He figured out quickly that there were not enough hours in the day to do what he had and do to be successful. During my conversation with Steve Simms the Modern Day wizard of Oz bestselling author of the book. Blue fishing the art of making things toppin. Steve told of how he learned as well as a bricklayer. That hard work could only take you so far. Which is why he began mastering the art of building a network? He now has friends like Elton John. Richard Branson and an Elon. Musk in his multibillion dollar network both he and Tony knew the hard work. Work wasn't enough in fact it was the bare minimum. So what else does it take to be successful. Well this leads us to our second. Listen the second lesson that I learned is for long term. Success Systems and protocols are necessity now my good friend and mentor the Creator of the conscious millionaire network himself who I am honored to be a show host with. JV Chrome the third talks about this in many different areas. He talks about it in his bestselling book conscious millionaire He is highly sought after coaching consultant. JV made his first million by the age of twenty five and he did it by creating systems and protocols that brought order to the chaos of business today speaker keynote speaker and author of the groundbreaking book you already have the no carry remarable actually creates a former that. She's talked to thousands on how to systematically network effectively and authentically again. She talks about that during our interview. Here on the show. The third thing I learned from our guests during the season was that if you are attempting something that is truly extraordinary. You will fail multiple times along the way during my interview with my good friend member of the Forbes Coach Council today Speaker Keynote Speaker and bestselling author Mag Ghanaian tells his struggles of Corporate America. He talked about the brutal journey of starting his own business and how that for him. Living with a courageous heart was the only way to keep him. I'm going so that he wouldn't give up in those hard times when I interviewed serial entrepreneur bestselling author of five percent. More and blueprint print business. Michael Alden Michael told us about the advice that he understood quickly in his entrepreneurial journey the advice was this the entrepreneurial journey never gets easier this shift in his mindset actually made things easier because now he couldn't wait to get to the next part art. He knew that this was just par for the course he knew that he wasn't the only person struggling and whenever he acknowledged that and we'll talk to other entrepreneurs and they would echo those. Oh sentiments to him. He realized that he was on the right track. When internationally renowned keynote Speaker Hall of Fame Speaking Member Embezzling authored the Book Doc Activate Your Brain Scott Halford and I dove into the subject? We talked about going from failure to failure without losing belief and focus on ourselves and in our purpose and he you mentioned that chasing money is the best way to never make any money and that is truly a powerful thing to remember. Bob showed is called the transformational channel grandmaster and for good reason because he's not only coach others to reinvent themselves he's gone through multiple evolutions in his life and businesses. Well entry during my interview on conscious millionaire epic achiever Shane Spears. He echoed the same sentiments and he explains that there are five steps that every business must go through and evolve if they want to actually get to the place where his success and freedom financially. With Dr Richard Schuster explains the size of altruism and how he not only uses it to help others and business but it's also become his ethos and a way of life. The fifth thing that I learned is that in order to improve you must learn to be brutally honest with yourself and other words you must is be brutally honest about where you are right now you must be brutally honest with the shortcomings that you have and be willing to stare at them nakedly to improve and the you. You must be willing to do the work to embrace the discomfort in order to get to that next level fitness trainer and social media.
