"Spun out four laps later, which proved to be a key moment in deciding this race. Jimmy Johnson and this could change everything. This will bring out the yellow with 6 to go. And we might see. We might see a red flag. And we did see a red flag, and that meant that the race finally restarted with just two left to go, and leader Marcus Eriksen, holding on for dear life. It's time to bring the action at the Indian operation. Here we go. Who's going to do it? Great restart Erickson. Phenomenal jump from the number 8, look at him. The former Formula One driver managed to hold off his challengers for his first victory in Indy and just the second win ever for a Swedish born driver. The Indianapolis 500 in the most dramatic way. Erickson also earned the largest winners payout in the racist history, and I'm sure that milk really hit the spot on Sunday strap. Yeah, that is some extremely hard earned dairy right there, tape. Okay, we gotta close this one out with maybe the strangest story of the entire weekend. It comes from Major League Baseball with a heavy dose of football rolled into it. In case you missed it, Cincinnati reds outfielder Tommy Pham served a three game suspension this weekend after walking up and slapping giants outfielder Jack Peterson before Friday's game. Wait, what? Yeah, exactly. And as Peterson explained, the hostilities here escalated because of a dispute in a fantasy football league. Okay, so some background jock Peterson and Tommy Pham played in a fantasy football league together. And we've gotten a couple explanations for why this went down. One of them is that Peterson put a player on an injured reserve, IR spot in his fantasy league and was accused of cheating for doing so, which would not be considered cheating in any league I've ever played in Tate, and I love, by the way, that we're totally in the weeds here already when it comes to fantasy football rules. That's what this story is done to us. Yeah, if you know you know Matt, but we should add that mister Pham also offered a different explanation for why this escalated. Now, he played for the Padres last year, and there were a number of Padres players in this fantasy league, and in the league's group chat, Peterson talked some trash about fam and his teammates at the time. There are some shit that went on in fantasy, but you know, but what he forgot to tell you guys too, you know, he says the disrespectful shit in the text message and I called him out on it. Peterson admitted that he did send a GIF making fun of the Padres, but also pulled up a text message and read it to reporters to show his attempt at an apology to fam. Was meant to be all filming games, no hard feelings, sorry if he took it that way. And then about two weeks later, he ended up leaving the league and there's been no communication since. I'm glad that you said attempt at an apology there because if you listen closely, jock Peterson said sorry if you took it that way, I gotta throw my challenge flag your tape. That is not technically an apology. Yeah, that's also putting it back in your court, you know what I mean? That's definitely not an official apology in my book. Good, I'm glad. Given the circumstances that we agree on this, I don't want any hostilities escalating. No slaps here. That is going to do it for us today from wondery..

"Jarrett, not much to talk about pretty quiet weekend qualifying for an Indianapolis and a quiet all star race in Texas. Now, listen, there's so much to unfold, that was most of the finish of the all star race, good run for Ryan Blaney, good speed, but a little bit of controversy. But this show is about you, the fans call in. We'd love to hear your opinion. I'm sure there's a lot about there. One 8 four four NASCAR NBC and we're also lucky to have a few guests today. Straight off a good top 5 qualifying run for the Indianapolis 500 Chip Ganassi driver Marcus Eriksen, will join us, as well as the driver of max D and monster jam, Tom Metz. Let's jump right into the all star race at Texas. We have a lot to hear, Scott Miller, vice president of competition from NASCAR, gave us their opinion, Denny Hamlin gave us some sound. But before we dig into all that, 10,000 foot view, Ryan Blaney fast car, controversy with the yellow, window net up, what's your overall takeaway from it? I'll skip all of that and go back to where we crashed out, quite a few of them really fast ones and more of the favorites of the race. I mean, if you look at, especially the betting side of it, you know, those guys were you talk about Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Ross Chastain, chase Elliott. Those were some of four of the top 6, I believe, a favorites for the race to win the race. So they were all running up front, but had issues and it wiped out of that out. So you had to sit and wonder what was the rest of the race going to look like. And so we saw an entertaining race, you can say what you want about all of the rules and regulations that they had put in place, trying to make it entertaining, but the controversy part of it. Yeah, there's a lot to say there. But any time you have an event, this can go back well before any of us were born, that there was going to be there's always going to be a controversial call. In most events, that you'll see. There's some time that I call it. It might not always decide the winner and loser, but at some point in time, it changes what happens. And in my opinion, the call to put the caution out there at the end of the race, but right before I'm lanny took the life in, that that was, that was done too soon. A too quickly. There's no way that you can tell me that you know that. That for no more than what happened there. And I think that was just the wrong thing to do at that point in time. So, Jeff real quick, let's focus on that part. Let's talk about just the yellow. What's your thought of the yellow, the timing of the other, the necessity of the yellow? Well, the yellow in my opinion was a mistake. It was no need for an hour they were coming to get the checkered, got up the racetrack. Sort of got in the wall and kept going. I don't know if Scott Miller with NASCAR. He said that they were talking.

"Greatest racehorse, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Just about one hour from now, The pictures should start to become clearer for last chance. Qualifying of the fast nine shoot out tomorrow. What an interesting day it has been marked. James Davey Hamilton, Nikki Open to the booth. Also, we've got Michael Young Jake weary out on the course when we get some qualifying attempts, and Ryan Marine Rob Blackman been keeping us abreast of the festivities going on downstairs and gamesmanship if he will In terms of those looking to avoid. Being in The last chance shoot out tomorrow. Last road Shootout. Sage carom, RC Peterson, Simona di Silvestro, Charlie Kimball and No, I'm not making this up, Nick Yeoman willpower? Yeah, the same willpower that won this race three years ago. Mark, is that who you're talking about? The same willpower. This guy better rose 60 some of the holes in his career. The same willpower who is arguably the greatest qualifier in the history of IndyCar racing, huh? It Z pretty startling to see just how much Will power struggle the we knew the team Penske was struggling. In fact, Scott McLachlan rookie for Team Penske is the fastest of that bunch. And right now he's on the outside of road number five Joseph New Garden on the outside of Road number seven Simon Passion o in the middle of Road number nine. And then as you mentioned Mark, it is the story line of the day. I will be shocked if willpower At least doesn't try to go out and improve on his four lap average. But it is just startling to see one of the all time great qualifiers an IndyCar history down there. And if nothing changes today, in his final 57 minutes, he's gonna have Last row shoot out just to make the Indianapolis 500 fast. Nine again. Scott Dixon, Colton Heard it. Tony Kanaan, Ed Carpenter, Reedus VK, Elio Castro Davis. Alex below Ryan Hunter rate, Marcus Eriksen, But there's Morte to the story, Nick Yeoman on Alex Below. Yeah, there's no doubt about it. About an hour ago, Alex Polo went out on the racetrack with the seventh best time looking to improve, maybe get himself A little bit more of a cushion, and I think it was his second lap had a big wiggle in turn number one caught it drove in to turn over to the car wiggled again and started sliding up the racetrack, and he hammered Safer barrier right near the turn to sweets. It was a broad sided shot that heavily destroyed the right side of that NTT data. Honda, Good to see Alex Below did get out of that race car and he talked to Ryan Marine. He is okay. And we'll be good to qualify tomorrow. But certainly the status of what shape that race car is in is something we're gonna have to track throughout. The next 24 hours. The good news for Alex below is that whether he goes to a backup car or not, he will stay in that seventh position. Barring any changes here, Mark Jayne's in the final 56 minutes. That word coming through rhyme arraign courtesy of vice president of Communications, said Dave first saying that you know there are approved. Sassy changes. That means that Alex below regardless of the condition of that race car, But Davey, if we go back, and from the looks that we saw it, Ryan got it up close and personal. Look at it. I I think it's gonna be a long night for him. But that car I think is the one they're gonna focus. Not amazing that you look at that photo, especially Nick had won that He brought up online just how much that safer bear flexed and how hard that and how flat that's right side. That car was that it's not just completely destroyed. They're just they're gonna wallet in there, but new right side parts on some new bodywork, but that tub the integrity of these tubs is just absolutely amazing. And to fix that that car is really Yeah, I should point out. I mean, it's big of a hit is that was I don't think it was this bad market Santy no fruit she's a few days ago. And Ray Hall. Let him Atlanta get repaired that race car. So it says a lot. You're right, Davey one about the safer barrier and how it keeps these drivers protected. But more importantly, markets that the structural integrity, the strength of these race cars and you could put him back together After some big hits. A couple of people have inquired, you know, following the story have asked, you know, winded that rule change because once upon a time that was the case, if that car was too badly damaged to be repaired, neither good or back up. Are you gonna do the real field? We're not sure win that change story about that. We'll see if we can find that out. The important thing is, though, at this point, I think the rule has indeed changed. And that's good news for Alex. Below. So the activity business picking up as they say at all right, Marine 100%, especially here on the south and.

"Young chick weary out on the course We've had Donald Davidson with us today. I'm Mark James, along with their driver, analyst Davey Hamilton, The Nick Yeoman. In the same college broadcast booth before floor, the media center of the world's greatest race course. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Qualifying continues for the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 mile race. I just got a glimpse of the 48 car of Tony Kanaan. At all pit road in the gamesmanship, I think is underway because Davey Boy PK As we mentioned, we could see some blocking. Heard Mike shake reference it because you know if you've got Erickson sitting right here and P nine, you know, TK can at least take some some time up by getting in that that second line and not having to give up his time. It's a timing situation. Now we see that Rossi is out on pit lane. Who knows if he'll try another attempt. We've just seen Holding her to go out there, though, and he lost over a mile in our From what his qualifying time is currently to be in the middle of that front row, So I just don't I still don't see anybody. Today. Even must conditions cool back down a little bit. The track temperatures continuing to go up 119 degrees right now. 86 degree ambient temp, uh, to go faster. Now I know by six o'clock, which is hour and a half away. Is going to cool down or the cloud's going to come back. And who knows what they'll be hard to beat anybody that top nine should be excited that we know that. You know, I'm going to say that Simona and willpower gonna have to go again. I wouldn't lie. I think same with sage carom, right? Marine Marcus Eriksen joining me and gasoline alley. Marcus, you've not been in the fast night shoot out before and your Indy 500 career. Right now. You're in. But you're right there on that perilous number nine position. How confident are you feeling that your speed will hold? I'm not very confident. Unfortunately, I think you know the track seems to be a bit tricking out with son being out, but he's obviously still some time ago, so I feel like we need to get out and try and put a better time to be sure to be in the past nine because we have the car for us for sure. So you think preemptively. You'd like to go out and move that benchmark rather than sitting waiting, See what others might do? I would prefer that. Yeah. I mean, it's not. I only need a A little bit of time to move off the P six. I think so. I think that's definitely in the car. So that's that's what I'm hoping for the other side of the equation. You saw how quickly this place combined your teammate Alex, is that in the back of your mind at all? I mean, I think all drivers here we have a ton of respect for this place and then you know. It's always a fine line, of course, but way need, folks in our on our car. And and and we have. Ah, good feeling. And then we know what we need to do, Teofilo. See if you can keep it in the fast night Looking ahead to tomorrow. Do you think you are a threat for pole? Have a sure way being false all week. And if you're in the past nine you have Ah, good chance for polling. You're gonna go for it so That's that's my, you know, My goal for today is to be in the first nine. That's what I said. Going into today and I think we can say there and then go for the ball tomorrow. Thank you, Marcus. Thanks to Rob Blackman. Okay, Ryan, Thank you standing here alongside Colton Herder,.

"Go. But again, all of the Andretti cars around here again lined up and their pit box areas looks. As I said, looks more like you're lining up for a team photo than looking to try a second or third attempted qualifying. Colton heard of the lone exception to that. It's gonna ride Marine back in gasoline Alley, joined by Ricardo Nault, team manager for Ray Hall, Letterman Land again Racing three cars, Great Great Hall, Takuma Sato and Santy know for Ruchi will start their first because it was a long night for the crew of the number 45 car and I suspect Some of the crew members from the other two cars as well, trying to help put that back together after the crash, the way that the team has been able to bounce back from that. What does it say about your guys? Well, the high behind it was running strong before it crashed and Get a lot of hurt to do you know, he took off the whole left inside the car. But the All the crews unite around, guys, that people ready, guys hide you guys all work together. Toe. Get the thing back together. It was a late night we'd you know, the last of us Didn't leave here till 5 30. The morning had to be back in eight. But the car and really strong yesterday. The heat of the day is kind of hurting us Right now. We're kind of waiting for it to cool off, But everybody else is as well. It's gonna be a you know, a waiting game and then a timing and trying to get out in the right time. The best conditions. How do you know when to go and beat that rush? Get out on track but still have conditions with which you couldn't put up a good time. Well, you have to start and figured out how many people are gonna be in lane one going, you know, you look at the last Like five cars in the field. They're not in the field, you know, to make a run. So you back that up that gets you about fourth R. Sorry, 5 30. Then you get out there and wait and see who's in life. So you want to leave about 5 30 before everybody goes in Lane one is locked up because I want some point late. One will be moving in later with a stop. So you gotta it's just a bit of a balance of window Get in our each of your three programs kind of with the same mindset of looking to go again or or is it maybe one more so than the others? We all want to go again. You know, Kim, it feels that the conditions are right. Well, we all feel we could put in the past night. If it is the right. We just don't have the conditions right now. Latinos that you know, throws one back, but we wanna get him all another chance and Just hopefully we can get it in. You know, we're not gonna turn into our time for it, so we'll try to bounce out and get in line to at the right time. Ricardo, Don't write how Letterman land again Racing team banners for joining us and gasoline alley before we let you go on. I'm curious what your impressions are of today. Everybody comes in with some expectations. Not just with their own program is capable of, but the others as well, What have you seen today? And how does it mesh with what your preconceived notions might have been? Something for a little more of our team, but the fields really tight every year, it gets tighter and tighter. The competition's spirits out here. It's pretty much what I expected. Then I want to be further off the grid. If you could be in the fast nine with any of her three cars, do you think you've got a threat for pull Yeah. Yeah, the Yeah. If we get the past nine, and we can give him a run tomorrow, I think Thank you, Ricardo. Thank you. Speaking of a fast nine Nick Yeoman, Let's remind folks currently who possesses those dying precious spots. Yeah, the fastest driver so far today he was the first car to go out way back when, at noon Eastern time, Scott Dixon, he went out, he turned a four lap average of 2 31.8 to 8. Maybe we didn't hype it up enough because Lo and behold, as everyone went out of the race track, no one had anything for Dixon. He is the fastest of the 35 so far today again at 231.8 to 8. Second is Colton heard of who went 231.648 MPH Dixon's teammate Tony Kanaan, with 3rd 231.639 MPH. Ed Carpenter, three time pole sitter is fourth fastest today at 231.616, his teammate Rina Speak a its fifth fastest 231.483 MPH Elio Castro. Neves surprised a lot of folks with a really good qualifying effort. He sits sixth right now. 231.164 spin it. It had been an adventure of a day for Alex below. He is seventh right now at 231.145 safe, but with a Tauron up race car, and he will not have a chance to defend that seventh fastest lap for the rest of today. Eighth Quick is Ryan Hunter Rey at 231.139 and in the final car on the Fast nine bubble, Marcus Eriksen at 231.104 MPH. Those nine drivers that they stay in right now. Mark James, with just a little over 90 minutes to go in qualifying If it holds, they will have a chance to compete for the pole position tomorrow afternoon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Ryan Marine, some clarification of where things stand in terms of where Alex Below has qualified and how things sit now that that race car has been badly damaged. That's right. And the crux of the conversation is what would happen to the time that he's posted already if the team were forced to go to a backup car, and I got this confirmation from IndyCar, VP of communications, our former colleague Dave first and he says, if it isn't approved chassis change, so if there's something fundamentally wrong with that chassis, and they are forced to go to the back up He would not lose the time set that currently has him in the fast nine and for so many years the phrasing has always been. It is the car that qualifies, But there does appear to be a bit of an exception to that. So again, if it isn't approved chassis change that. Causes Alex below to go to a backup car, which we still don't know if that's going to be the case, but it is a possibility he would not lose the time, he said earlier today, which currently has him in the fast nine so really, literally, nothing to lose. By making that attempt, right, right. Exactly. I mean, on the situation where They don't have to fix that car. I mean, is a basic bottom line, right? I mean, they got get it fixed with, say it looks like they're working on that car and not the backup car, which is good. Problem is, it's just he's locked used locked in. He files out in that fourth position. Really good variety that you need A good run. And Scott McLaughlin Simon National Michael Young. That's a pretty good battle for the sixth position. Yeah, they've been battling for the last several laps or so, Simon passion. Oh, keeps closing in on his teammate. But this time by trying to make up that four car deficit, he has go down home and Boulevard. Forever so stupid ski teammates, the brake rotors glowing as they make their way down through turn number seven McGlaughlin gets there first, but Simon passion Oh, just the Carling behind Jake, I got a feeling if one of these two asks the other for dinner tonight, they're going to say way pretty much spent enough time around each other today because they've been really going at it here for the last 15 or so circuit Scott McLachlan Simon pageant just behind him, setting up for turn number 12. That means that they're in the South End short shoot of the oval of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And he does so with vaginal behind them taking a bit of interest suddenly in the proceedings Just behind that battle is things start to tighten up a bit, Michael. You'll see my Glock with impassioned Oh, but just behind them. Heard up. Rossi Erickson. Try to get interesting. Yeah. Alexander Rossi has been battling these others entire race. He's locked him up several times and turn number one had that little brief incident with Juan Pablo Montoya. Montoya kind of checked up in front of them. So Alexander Rossi started to close in on that rear wing of Colton Herta. Herta gets a nice launch this time out of turn number five and six, but Brasi trying to close that five card deficit. So it's the Penske teammates battling right ahead of those two that both driver and ready Otto's work cold heard of yellow and black car gets hard on the brakes Return over seven. So Scott MacLachlan In the machine of side of passion. Oh herder, And then Alexander Rossi. Marcus Eriksen was the big loser in that willpower Now entering the circuit as well. They'll get right in front of Takuma Sato. And behind him. Is the machine off Ramada grow shod. Also the machine of Felix Rosenquist just now making it out of the circuit, But Nick Yeoman Ramada Grow shot is making this field look silly at this point. He has pretty much fallen and we have a car off its jack Harvey. Yeah, it's Jack Harvey and turned seven. There is something wrong with that race car. He is very slow. Trying to get his way through the S is Jake the entire field just trying to get around Harvey without making contact again. The leader is Ramana grow Zhaan. But as we watch now, coming back on for the flat right rear of Jack Harvey, the machine that had the incident and pit road he's able to get back under some speed. But he's gonna have to come to pit road. He's working his way. And he wisely now starts to go to the left in turn number 12. Everybody's starting to back up around him. Jack Harvey now is gonna have to get to the outside is everybody is able to get underneath him. And here comes Jack Harvey dejected for sure. Jack Harvey on the Pit road, Davey. It's a nice large between turns five and six about a five car like disadvantage for Rita, speaking over Pelo give that young Spaniard Alex below who won earlier this year and Barbara Motor Sports Park. A lot of credit. He got the heat into those Firestone tires because VK was wearing him out on that out lab. They'll make their way through Turns seven and a Pelosi advantage about four car lengths over B. K. There is a slight breeze right now, that's starting to come on The South end. And perhaps part of that is just the exhale of Alex. Hello because he's got a lot less work to do this time. By then he did last. Rita's VK is behind him, but not nearest closest. The 105th running of the hidden Annapolis. 500 lives Sunday, May 30th on 7 20. Chicago activity picking up on pit road. Let's start with Rob Blackman. Well, in the last 60 seconds or so we have seen Sebastian board a Alexander Rossi and now Marcus Eriksen come too. Pit row. All three doing the same thing. Switching from the black tires to the scuff Firestone Ridge also refueling. All three of the drivers I just mentioned so the black tires coming off discovered reds now beginning to go on Ryan Marine. What's it look like where you're at? Oh, my God, is Is it busy down on this side? Jack Harvey just put it on the second spot. He's onto the red tires with what a happy turn of front wing adjustment into that car. Scott, the Glock Lynn also going onto the ranch. He's made his bed stuff a few laps ago, Arenas VK would slip back outside of the top 10. He came in for services well and has returned to the racetrack. Pitch strategy started would fold out baby have majority. The guys are gonna go with the three stop strategy. Get on these red tires as fast they can We see called her to come in and getting off his black. Same, a new garden. Everybody but the leader right now, it seems to be coming in yet we see that snap on tools machine of Joseph New Garden. Come on it all fit road tires and fuel for Joseph New Garden. Just a couple of spots behind him. We see the car of Simon Passion Know his crew going toe work. Also, the 26 of Colton heard of that game. Bridge machine. Good news for Colton. They breed up, re upped and extended with a couple more years. You're gonna go in cold in that Andrew any team? Great called the young kid that has a lot of huge future and game bridge has been doing this for a while. They love Victory Lane, Michael Young so fast brace Clark cars that have already pitted, including willpower, things getting Harry down in Turn Number one. Yes, indeed. Marcus Eriksen and Alexander Rossi battling there, We did make a note that Joseph New Guard was able to get out and around Jack Harvey so well. Probably moved Joseph New Garden to that Pete to position. What's all of these pit stops cycle through, but nice battle there. Marcus Eriksen and Alexander Rossi coming at you, Nick Hillman. No doubt about it. It was a great pit stop for Joseph. New Garden to leapfrog. Jack Harvey, where they're going side by side. DDS is Rina speak. Hey, he just got around Scott McLaughlin. Jake, is they had to you? Yeah, that is two drivers who already have been quite busy so far early in this particular race. It's the battle for 12. Right now, But everything, of course, has to settle out. We're talking about Rina Speak a and as well. Scott McLachlan. Meanwhile, Alexander Rossi trying to close it on Marcus Eriksen. That battle turns into turn number 12 Marc. It's always fun after the pit stops when everybody comes out, and you got to figure out whether or not you've got better tires better balance, and there are a lot of battles on the race track. New Garden Jack Harvey into turn number one. Yes, indeed. That will be the battle for second. What's recycled through these pit stops, But Jack Harvey has a bad fast race car. He Is on those reds and he is chasing down Joseph New Garden New Garden through the switchback of five and six. Jack Harvey gets a great lodge closes within two car like he is right there down home and boulevard right in the tire tracks. He'll try to get the draft. Use that slipstream on Joseph New Garden. Harvey will take a look to the inside, who closed within half a car length but has to get all the breaks and pull up just a little bit. New Garden will maintain that position. As Michael pointed out, Jake, this eventually will be for second New garden leads them out of Turn, 10 Boy, a new garden going into turn number 10 went pretty wide. Harvey decided to go in the same tracks right now, it is just a car length and a half that separates a Harvey started to look to the inside to turn over 12. But new Garden got a good run into that right handed. Turn now takes the left of his 13. He has literally pulling right now. The magnet of Jack Harvey stuck to him. For now, we will call it the battle for the ninth. Issued its between Joseph New Gardener, Jack Harvey, If we see some of the lake covers coming to pit road New garden with about a two car licked advantage into tournament wine. Jack Harvey looks to the inside, then settles back in behind the rear wing of Joseph New Garden has marked, Jane said. That is the battle for ninth. For now, it'll eventually cycle back. We're mongrels. John has seriously checked out from the remainder of the field as he remains out on the circuit Joseph New Garden able to gather himself again, that battle remains about a two car like disadvantage for Harvey Harvey Zone. Little bit closer. This time, we'll see if he can get the run. He's within a car leg. He's got a shot. He'll move to the inside. They'll go wheel to wheel in that pink and black Sirius XM car is fast enough. Jack Harvey slips around Joseph New Garden as he leads them to the S is Nick. Let me tell you something from far away. Harvey made that look relatively easy not to say that it was by any stretch of the imagination. But he now on those softer red tires start to extend away from Joseph knew Gordon on the black tires. They are about a half a circuit behind the leader Romano grows on. But again a lot of cycling in terms of pit stops yet to do David Graham Marie Hall running seven, but he's got a right rear wheel garden flopping around a little bit. And that happened in pit lane marked the error hose out. The right front air again got caught on the front of his car. Went back that arrogant and hose wrapped around that side pot. Graham rail broke it loose, So I'm not sure, sheriff. There's not gonna be a penalty to go with it. But if not, he's gonna have to come in more likely and fix that bodywork he right now. Runs in that world. He was He's actually running pretty good. He'd running in that seventh position right now. So gained a lot of spots. But don't look, Navas got Dixon's Our fifth position. The only guys in front of him right now or guys that have not pitted brother Rob Blackman on pit road. Well, look who's back Conner. Daly is back on the track, and he brought his car from the garage and done a little work and he is back on the track, albeit 19 laps behind the leader, But Conner Daly is back after That misfortunate incident on turn on and turn number one when this race began its gonna ride Marine on pit road on earlier today, the Indy Lights series presented by grouper tires put on a heck of a show..

We just finished Arden's first caution of the race, the only cost so far for 12 laps. Can't wait to see Mark what this does for Tony, Get on. I mean, he has a fast race car. We know that obviously Jake, where he has a scot of been tuned in with the drama being stuck in sixth gear. But now all of a sudden TK If they got those gremlins worked out Mark. He's back in the game and ninth with fast race cars should be addressing to see You guys got a young greenest BK right ahead of him rookie and Scott McLaughlin. I imagine they maybe taking the school here on this restart where we know with the way this thing is shaping up these restarts, you're gonna have to get everything you can adult Kellett Takuma Sato, a couple of guys that waited and waited and waited and waited. Graham Ray Hall, another one, and they waited it jealousy. It's Ray Hall Sato talent all waiting till lap 68 to go to pit road. Yeah, those are guys that pitted once got trapped a lap down, and I think there's thought process now Mark is because we ran so many laps under yellow better come in cab off and get back on the on the strategy with everybody else. The guys that didn't willpower Marcus Eriksen Pato Award Simon Passion. Oh, when those next round of pit stops happened, they're gonna be the first ones that come in, David. No question. Gonna be a long night for AJ point racing in the crew. Sebastian board A. They've got a pretty bad Death race car that they've got to put together. The good news is way Don't rate race until late in the afternoon tomorrow, so they do have some time, but it's still gonna be along. That form is gonna be a long night, guys. I see the car being backed into the garage right now, all the crew heading that way, and they're gonna evaluate it very quickly to see what all they need to fix. But it's gonna be a long night for that A J. Foyt group and let's go to pit road getting updates from Michael Young. Yeah, just touching on Joseph New Garden that it's that he will have to go back of the pack. Killed flat to follow the 29 tips Just got on the radio. You have to go to the back. Joseph didn't really argue with this. So you will see him restart in the 20th position. It restricted. No, David, that new gardens of what that goes to the rear of the field and board a pointed the goat herder for slowing up off of turn number two. Yeah, I don't know about that call. I don't think that was a great call. But that's just me from here point. Just like that driver. I got slow down in front of me in your fast you are and these speeds you gains quickly, guys and cold must have issue but we're behind you. You don't know that's happening. And you everybody slow down the facet good and just barely touched him. So I don't feel that's a fair call personally, But that zone that just means the race driver know what kind of help these cars work. "You I d C 35 laps in has been all Scott Dixon. He's about to leave Latin number 33 of the 35 laps We have completed here in Texas Voters Speedway for the Genesis 300 total. Get on with some gearbox issues. Jake Query. How about an update? Our Tony Kanaan is we talked about was the fastest car in practice today, but he started this race in the 23rd position, made up four spots on the opening lap. But then we talked about the fact he was having issues with the gearbox that stuck him in sixth year. Good news for him. He can get out of that, if need be now, but now he can't get it back above fifth. So what they told him was the tires actually look good right now. He's lost two spots back. So he finds himself now in the 21st position, But they told him what's not get out of sequence and try to bring you in. Really just do what you can right now between 4th and 5th, and we'll try to take care of it. Reset everything. Once you do come in on sequence for those fresh Firestone Firehawk sin fuel. I guess The good news is Davey Hamilton in that scenario is that teams confident enough in a veteran driver to be able to handle that scenario, be able to hold on to the race car and not go laps down by coming in under green. Get right guys it and they could when in the pits, and he may just be able to cycle the ignition and reset the electronics. So the gearbox side of the car and be good again, But don't don't ruin your race. Because if you come in now, and the yellow wasn't to come out before that for screen, you'd be the first bits up. You'd be a big trouble, so Just hanging out there. You think that position guys he's hanging in there? He's keeping his lap times keeping his lap times up and still has set forth of 50 years that he could work with writers. So by not being able to go back into sixth gear and explain to the novice exactly how exactly he is hammered. What What is that preventing him from doing? Well, ironically, right now, this point the race guys, probably nothing because the pace is slow down enough to where he probably doesn't need six years who, with the fresh new tires and the start of these tits. The speeds of being about five miles an hour. He'll need that sixth year or hit the Rev. Limiter didn't the straightaways but went. The pace is that right now, guys is probably not hurting whatsoever right now. But like I say, once he gets a new tires on, it could happen Pretty good. Then the straightaways get into that. Rev. Limiter Battle for 12 comes off Turn Number four. It's tightening up a little bit. That's Graham Ray Hall that Pato award Nick Gilbert. They start to set up for Turnover Wide award has a fast race car made that move around Alexander Rossi about 10 to 15 laps ago mark to move into the 13th position. And down the backstretch ray halls advantage about three car lengths over Pato Award Award. Close it Down to two in the third three. They climb up the banking. Now What about the halfway point of the turn? And upon exit? They get close to that outside retaining wall that Pato award is stuck right into the tire tracks of Graham Ray. Hold again. This is the battle for the 12. Positions of wars often turn number one. Just in front of them. Marcus Eriksen and Joseph New Garden is a pretty decent battle. Erickson is the guy with the 10 spot New garden trying to get into the top 10 back to that battle. We check in a pot of award. Looks like he's lost about a half a car like this, so But as we say that he comes to the start finish line and really closes up within about three car lengths. Hurry Practice Pato Award to the trial but was actually clipping the grass with the left side Firestone, so he's trying to trim this racetrack. Short is he can takes a really shallow line exiting turn to gets a nice run again market close within two car lengths and Graham Ray Hall as they roared through Turn three and just looks like he's having to lift a little bit as he approaches the corner, and that allows Ray holder stand in the throttle just a little bit longer and gate somebody of momentum. They looked like they were gonna threaten Joseph New Garden for a bit, but now Joseph so that up to about a second and a half lead in front of them as he runs in the 11th position. Yeah, began at a turnover to part of a war with a strong show. Large takes a look to the inside breaks that air just a little bit. Graham, though a really strong run mark through turns three and four Hell Gap about to about 45 Carlos. So Davey, they're running very similar lines around the race track and the running very similar speeds. Why can't award seemed to pull up on Graham Ray home? Well, you know what he's doing what he needs to, and that is be quicker. Come on The exit of the corner. Unfortunate just gets to the back of Graham on corner entry, and they've got to get single file before they go through there. Just no grip. I'm outside right now, guys, So he gave up on it. But then he loses the ground a little bit going in the corner, but he really has a good car. As far as woman. I'm coming off those corners as Nick assist. He is definitely making this a short track. I think you clip the grass right there. Still try over down the front straightaway that that will get you in trouble If you do get there too far. And Nick Yeoman 24th place running Don't Kellen has some company and that's our leader's Got Dixon. Yeah, thanks. Get got interesting at the back of the pack bark. Tony Kanaan just made a pass around Felix Rosenquist. Rosen was struggling right now. With Ed Jones and you mention it. Scott Dixon just took a look to the inside. He'll put Don't tell it the first driver one lap down into turn three about 10 laps away. We think from the pit window opening up Scott Dixon, a dominant performance so far, he's the leader below power. Heard of Harvey. Of course, that was fastest in the practice session. And what I was told is that at the beginning of the race, don't look for vintage T K to try immediately to go to an outside line and get aggressive. Gonna try to perhaps be a little bit conservative. Early knowing marked it with a double header. Got a baby, that car get a feel for the race before? Starts to make his move little further up Pit road.
