NFL Playoff Futures: Who will make the 2020 post-season?

"Wanted to talk about playoff odds and not not. Just who's gonna make the playoffs but also the nfc the nfc's a really weird place. The saints are plus three fifty to win this to in the nfc. None of us like the saints even are as good as they looked last week against tampa. There's still this unease with because breezes arm strength. It just makes me nervous. I'm starting to talk myself into the saints. Okay yeah okay so a couple of things number one. Smart people in july and august said wait until brady gets half a season under his belt and they're going to get better you know. No one cares. More about the details. And tom brady doesn't have a training. Camp does not as doesn't put pads on till till august fifteenth. He's gonna get better and better and better and so week one when when the bucks and the saints played. I threw that out. I said this this doesn't matter bracing to get better and better better. This was the closing the gap game for me. And then i didn't see that and obviously they were there whipped everywhere you know. Ali maher pet being out was a big thing with with with with people who started the game. But i think that this was bigger than than alley marquette quite frankly okay The the saints were able to get a four man rush the entire game. Are they able to pressure brady on half of his dropbacks when they had a four man rush. That's really good Since marcus davenport's come back in week five had the most pressures in football pressuring and football There's just something there. The problem at the beginning of the year was that lattimore and marcus williams were bad and those are two pretty good players and i think that you know a good pass rush. Ken console that those guys can get better and so with with brees. Listen there are. There are problems with the fact. You can't throw down the field. The offensive line is not as good as it has been in years hospice and matter with brees because he gets rid of the ball and a second. It's like peyton manning he doesn't need you know the the the best offensive line in the world and then lattimore who we were kind of dunking on because at one point he was giving almost a perfect passer rating. He owns mike evans. He own them. He is not given up a reception. Mike evans the last three games. They've played and so when if those guys play in the playoffs again. There's that match up. So i i don't. I'm feeling better about the saints. Now that i was two three weeks ago. Good coaching staff. I gary coaching staff. Yeah so the fear in this isn't just the saints but the fear is all right. What happens at their downtown in a playoff game. It's basically the lamar jackson corollary. How am i feeling down. Thirteen to three in the second quarter and they've just done a three and out. What were my emotions in that moment. That's my the saints because a breeze. I think that because they don't you don't think they're capable of a big play. Is that your fear if teams though like all right. They've got to air this out. They've got to quicken the pace and also it's amazing to me a cameras probably been the. Mvp think it's either him cook mahomes berry some order Okay i'm amazed at teams aren't just like all right. We're taking him out like bell. Check in his prime your. He got added as kids to the coaching staff and decided to throw a fight street. Drafts fail check All he would do me like chimeras not beating me. You can have everyone else on the saints. I'm not getting beat by that guy. I'm falling everywhere he goes. We're hitting him constantly. He's not beating me. Why don't teams do that with them. I don't get it okay. So first of all they have a of weapons. Thanks so she when michael. Thomas is healthy There's a lot they can do their you know. I think peter king early breakdown. His column this week about there was a play where the bucks dropped eight men into coverage and it was a weird play. They had their fullbacks put out wide and brees hit a random tight end. Adam traveling for a touchdown even throwing into eight men like that. There's just something their breezes still really really good so. I think it's a bit simplistic to say. Just take away kamara because they can do other stuff And they can. They can change their game plan so

"He's good going downhill and getting after the passer, but he can also be disruptive throbbing into coverage. And that is that is a good bonus to have just from a game planning perspective. He would probably be in that group with Brian burns Montas sweat clone. Feral where you've got this lump of really good in athletic pass rushers who all have good technique. They can play the run. Although there's some question about that with burns. I'm not overly concerned about it. And I suppose it would just come down to what the team that drafts him or what team picking wear values. What traits yen? That's really the big. Question with the the addresses in in this class of what traits? Do you value the most? And there is there is a player for whatever a trait. That is. So I think when we look at what the giants are probably going to get at six depending on what they're valuing. They are going to get someone good who are will fit whatever they're doing. I don't think they're going to be forced into an edge pick just because there are so many good ones. Like if you needed an edge you had to draft Bradley Chubb or you had to do what the saints dead and entreat up half around to get Marcus Davenport. Because he was the second best edge in that class. That's not going to have to be the case this year, which I guess does help the giants with figuring out what what traits. They want to focus on because they're going to be able to get a player that fits that. Yeah. Definitely. And I think the big difference just comparing last year's edge class and this year's edge class. Isn't that Bradley Chubb is better or worse than any of these top guys? It's really more that this top tier is so much more densely populated. That is absolutely the case. I mean, this is one of the best we've seen in quite some time. There might be seven or eight taking in the first round. There were forward taken in the first two rounds last year. Yeah. It's absent before I'll say it again this entire front seven classes, just filthy. Okay. So we are going to end that there. Thank you for the questions. If you guys have other questions feel free to send them in on Twitter or through Email that is that also helps us to figure out what you guys want to talk about. We've been just bringing draft topics to the table since November. So if you guys have something that. You would like us to talk about please let us know, and you can find the spot gas wherever.

Where will Antonio Brown land?

"And Tonio Brown. I'm seeing a lot of different names. I theorized yesterday. Carolina could be interesting. They've got their lebian bell and Christian McCaffrey. They've got a defensive coach what they don't have with Cam who's not a great precision thrower. But he does throw a great deep ball is get them a big time home run threat. Do you think there's a place and it could happen? Very quickly. We're in Tonio Brown lands. I wanna make your podcast, which which is on overnight or whatever. And I'm worried that we're going to say something now, and he's going to be traded in the next two minutes. I'm going to try to give us a vague enough answer. So we can live online, Colin. I would say this don't just believe all the teams that are not how this works. There's going to be a surprise team. I love the Carolina fit. I actually think that's a really good one out of the conference another team. I would give you the New Orleans Saints. And you might be saying, oh, come on the saints have no money to spend. They've got all these guys. They've gotta take care. Mike thomas. There are ways to make it work. And if you think about what would Sean Payton has been about the last few years, it's making a splash going and getting the guy trading a first round pick for next year to get Marcus Davenport signing Dez Bryant, he denied it at the combine because his name was linked to it a little bit Sean say that we're not I wouldn't be shocked at the. The saints are making some phone calls right now. The question is can they get into Neo Brown for a second or third round pick? They don't have a first round pick.

"This Rams offense for that story down on the sidelines. Any Fitzsimmons Bill one of those players is defensive rookie, Marcus Davenport. When polling our on the on the coverage of the NFL draft. We snap our heads around looking at each other. When the saints moved up twelve spots in the first round draft, Marcus Davenport, Texas, San Antonio what? Well, they've been spot on his production has gotten better and better every single week going going up against his Rams offense. They will not have Davenport today. He is out in talking to some of the saints coaches for eight production standpoint, he will be missed today. Trying to defend that that outstanding offense Iran's gonna throw at them today. All right. So the Rams won the toss deferred. So the saints are going to get the football. Don't let me bring you in on the newest addition to this Rams defense. And that's Dante Fowler picked him up in a trade from Jacksonville. He arrives this week. He will wear number fifty six how easy or difficult is it for guy like that to be incorporated into a game plan? What he's been there less than a week very easy because you're using in not sophisticated packages where he just that's nowhere to lineup lineup in the nine technique seven technique of five technique, very likely not being five. So he just has to learn nine and seven and rush the faster. That's all he has to do. They won't use them in any sophisticated zone or anything like that. So it's a very easy transition. What are you going to look for a niece first series? Now drew Brees in their game last week and Minnesota you told me drew drew Brees fast for one hundred twenty yards one touchdown thinking. Well saints must have lost that game. That was not the case. What do you think they're going to do tonight? Well, I think they're going to try and be balanced. You can't let Dhamma concerns Donald rush the passer all day. So I think they're going to try come out and establish a running game. And then go to the play action passing game. Saints will kick off from left to right. The saints all in black today with gold numerals gold helmets. The floor deletes on either side Rams in white jerseys with the dark, blue numerals, blue pants semi familiar. Rams helmets. And we'll get this underway. Tastes them is back. Deep to are. Right for the saints. And you will see tastes hill over the field today. They're putting on offense for the saints. We've been waiting for this one circled on the calendar. When the schedules announced and we're underway into Orleans hills slide to his rights and the ball's going to bounce off from out of bounds and the ball come out to the twenty five yard line. Football Sunday on ESPN radio. Brought to you by Buffalo Wild Wings. Come to Buffalo Wild Wings for five dollar game day deals while the saints offenses anchored by max under hunger. They picked him up on that trade from Seattle back in two thousand fifteen his fifty fifth starts for the saints. Of course, the wide. Receivers include Michael Thomas Thomas was six hundred sixty nine yards receiving four touchdowns Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram will share the running back duties tight end will be Benjamin Watson for stout, intense, sinks Ingram's the running back on. I doubt say sweep to the riot on a hand off and making his way up to the far side about the twenty nine yard line. That was Alvin Kamara lined up in the slot. One emotion to the right of about five yards on the planet. It'll be second down and fly. Sweep and Camaro ran out of a Sacco from. Linebacker outside linebacker of the Rams. Him lost good gains for him. Second down and five yards to go for a first down. Running. I saw thirty five forty forty two yard wide a New Orleans Saints. I down. It's an outside zone. Coming to the near side tomorrow read the whole on the backside cut it back on a diamond made big yardage. And as we said at the outset Bill the saints are trying to establish the run to keep Dhamma consume, an Aaron Donald honest inside Rams defense sixth overall in points allowed and the NFL nineteen point four game as far as total yards eight hundred and thirty one breeze works out of a gun bunch formation farside, right? I intend New Orleans Briscoe session of the game at their forty two back. Throws breeze. Lots of time downfield it goes near sideline. And a juggling spy Thomas and a flag on the play as well. So we not only makes the catch Marcus Peters on the coverage. It's going to be holding against the against the Rams, obviously they'll decline that. I think at our referee today is. That is what makes Michael Thomas one of the best two or three receivers in the National Football League. He was double covered. The ball is a little bit behind him. He was held and he still made the play ten saints at the Rams Forty-six opening possession of the game Ingram now at running back. He gets the call running off left tackle spitting fighting gets a couple of extra yards. That's a nice Bush to the forty one yard line built Ingram had to sit out the first four games because of the suspension third game back. He's starting to get his legs a little bit..

"And I know we talked about this yesterday, but there were a couple of plays history where they had Kamara and Ingram in the game, and they put Kamerhe out wide and then they or they put them in motion, and then they just turn around hand the ball Ingram and it's like the defenders have to make have to be aware that Thomas is on one side chimeras onto the side. And then they just hand the ball Ingram and he'll get five or six pop so many weapon very easy to take out the defense. Yeah, absolutely. The saints defense looked really good. I wanna talk about that too, because expenses under pressure on night. They could not run the ball at all agent Pearson at six yards. Thomson didn't fare much better. I mean they had like thirty four thirty. To forty yards of rushing last night, which is a phenomenal defensive performance. Marcus Davenport looked really good. He got his hands on Alex Smith a couple times, they forced turnovers. The saints. They started off the season with that ugly loss to the books, all of a sudden four and one they did beat the Browns. They didn't lose to him. What do you think about the saints moving forward? Are they top five playoff contender? Definitely. Do you think they're a top three team in the NFC. Got the Rams. You know what, as a radio? Yes, I would put them number three. Who would you put number two. Question. Probably carolina. Yeah. Really will also. Yeah, it's it's interesting discussion. The saints should be in the mix. They were my preseason Super Bowl favorite from the NFC after five weeks. They're like I said, it seems like there quietly right there. They're foreign one. You know. Great season so far soon. So the addition of Ingram, their offense, very dynamic. Would you say that their offense is on par with the chiefs and the Rams not yet. Good defense, what? No. No offense. Oh, you should defense saints offense. So I don't know what I said, but it's the same as good as chiefs in the Rams offense. It's almost there. I think it's third. They have the capability the -absolutely because those healthy Ingram healthy breeze healthy, Michael Thomas, this team could be the best offense league. They've got the rookie last night involved with the two touchdowns including the one on breezes record breaking pass. So interesting. Maybe he'll provide another weapon touch on how easy that pass was. No one was around him. Yes. So let's talk about the Redskins Jay Gruden. Do you think he's on the hot seat? Do you think this? Is this a warm or you know, the sees that warmers in some cars. Definitely on that kind of CD warming up. Is this fire yet? Do you think that he this is the year that he gets what go by the Washington Redskins. Yes. I think after this season, if it's a losing seasonally, plops he's gone. Yeah. Do you think is a good coach? What do you make them. He's a coach, I don't. I don't consider him good or bad. I was very surprised to see that team offer such little resistance. Last night. He's very, he's very. Mediocre, say. It's kind of funny because some people would cause quarterback the same thing. You know. Wait, oh Smith. Yeah. I can see that after losing her cousins. I can see why. So is Jay Gruden the Smith of coaches. Never does. Sure why not. So Adrian Peterson dislocated his shoulder last night, as sounds, he says that it's not going to affect him in terms of playing. He's already affected by just she's playing the worst. He has ever like, no, he's he's very Peterson. He's not back to his prime..

"Radio on Facebook. Is Whitney would say, where's the receipts? Here. Where's the receipts? Y'all. Because I've got him Ken Crawley was bad got some people arguing otherwise, I guess. Marcus Davenport, just wasn't good enough period. I'm not look I feel like a broken record saying this, and I'm just gonna stop saying because I have said it in countless number of times on this program my expectations. You're him aren't much this year. Is it for any rookie pass rusher said four or five sacks situational pass rusher? It's fine. But a situational pass rusher is more than this his last forty one snaps Marcus Davenport, going week one against Tampa and his action in week four against Los Angeles. Forty one snaps one tackle chew pressures. No sacks. That is not good enough period. And the reason that I bring it up isn't a shine a light on him saints at a lot more and a lot bigger problems in Marcus Davenport. But I have heard on off of the excuse making further rookie. I just have we to get real here. You want this team to be better? We need to be better. We gotta we gotta hold his team more account here. Come on. All right. Let's go back to the phone lines. Chip in Gretna come into the program. Thank you. I think your expectations for a rookie way way way too high in one of the reasons for that is the fact that last year, Marcus Lattimore and Alvin Kamara had so much success, which is unprecedented in history. And if you if you draft a rookie, I don't care what you pay for him as long as you get somebody who contributes and starts and does a good job for you for a long time. You've succeeded expectations are way too hot. Wait what I just did. You just hear me talk about the expectations. Yeah. Okay. What we gave up for him. I think you know. That's not what I said what you said my expectations are too high. What are my expectations? Chip. Well, I mean that we get more out of him than a couple of sex situation rushes the guy is a rookie. He might have a great Griff. Do you think the raiders are going to draft the player with the they traded for Khalil Mack eleven be as good as Khalil Mack? The odds are extremely against that. But. Ship. He didn't. Okay. Okay. Okay. I don't know. Why? Like, you're listening to the program. Obviously you're calling in here. You can't name when I just said thirty seconds before I went on the phone my expectations actually are just a few sacks for the guy. I don't have expectations that he's got to get more than that. I said four or five sacks. I said more than forty one snaps one tackle and two quarterback pressures. What? And by the way, rookies do come in all the time and make a huge impact. Especially pass rushers taken in the top fifteen of the NFL draft Alden. Smith twelve is rookie year. Von Miller eleven and a half is rookie year. I could go on. I'm not saying he's gotta be those guys not even close, but he's got to be better than what we've seen. Back and just a second. Hold on. "But i mean that's just goes to show you my goodness defense no shows you derrick brooks and warren sapp and others that were part of that stupendous defense hey what's the what's the national not unless they seem but the national i guess feeling about the saints right now that they're going to be really good i think i think everyone knows that jerus that drew's you know that age clock is ticking and you know when you saw all the promise that you saw last year with marshawn ladder and and camera some players from that draft and then you saw you know cam jordan really emerge into a superstar and you know mike thomas is that next great saints player who's not going get ever get the recognition because you've got the drew brees clouding over him a little bit in terms of star power it's just like there's no reason why the saints couldn't contend for the super bowl except they play in the nfc south when you could say the same thing about the panthers about the falcons you know they're getting there's there's no reason why they can't be three teams go into the playoffs south when you look all around the nfc which is stacked so i mean i think the saints are one of those teams where everyone's expecting a lot of good things out of them but but you know you never know because this is the nfl but i mean i think just with everything they showed us last year and it's crazy angered that they're going to be a little hungrier in a little bit sharper which could absolutely put them in position to come out of the nfc hanging out with steve weiss reporter and analyst for the nfl network eighty nine on twitter what do you think of marcus davenport the decision to trade up to draft him he'd better be good do you think he's good i this is where i kind of stay away because i haven't seen enough i only i only talk to the people who seen a lot of them and they love him but you know what a guy doesn't college often you can't tell because he he's going into a certain scheme look around the people who didn't really think much of alvin kamara he gets sean payton he's a rockstar so this is guy here which is a lot of raw talent has got that you know if you can mobile him a certain way and if he's a perfect fit with dennis allen is doing down there could be a superstar but looking harboring who are great in college we didn't really know about certain systems that didn't quite fit or the personnel didn't quite fit so they're gonna do things because of the investment they've made at him they're going to do things to accentuate its strengths which i would assume this move him around a little bit you know you like they do cam jordan a little bit to get him some one on one match ups but it's gonna take a minute we know young pass rushers tend to take a minute but you you really don't know but you know they've invested a lot in the past rusher and as we know that's that's what the saints of needed for years steve you're out now at the nfl network rich you start man my first job ever was in richmond virginia covering high school sports and i worked in miami for nine years i worked at the washington post for awhile atlanta journal constitution i've been the game for a long time and i've covered just about every sport there is high school football high school football basketball field hockey women you know we you look those are the toughest years to keep your own stature standing outside in the rain but it's also the best years because that's where you really learn how to deal with people there's nothing like putting together an all county team or an altair's team and you're really good player off and you have their parents just call up killing you because you're left their son or daughter off deem and you really have to learn how to deal with people and that's that's some of the thickest skinny ever have to have steve howell even with the nfl network now going on ten years over ten years september how about that years yeah wow very grateful man very grateful it's interesting so you started with nfl network almost the same time i started as a saint silent reporter attain tenure so kristie i think you're saying you and me are like.

"So i get taken them but if denver's not a player away and they could have easily traded back had those two first round picks they already have a superstar in von miller to be able to trade up and i don't know maybe take marcus davenport at twelve if the gap wasn't that big and at pick twenty three you know get the best corner on your board get a wide receiver i mean to me the get offense of lyman the options are endless hell take one of the sweet running backs i don't know you would have had a ton of options the chances that let's say marcus davenport at twelve and will hernandez at pick twenty three or hell isaiah win who went next to the patriots let's say you had got those two players the chances that one of those players if not both of them become one becomes a pro bowler and the other becomes a good starter where bradley chubb also becomes a pro bowl i would rather have the pro bowl or and the good starter it's just basic math taking more swings i would always do this man that's why i thought green bay had probably the best draft of any team because next year they're coming into this draft process the entire offseason with multiple ones they can do so much even if those picks turn out to be picked twenty five and pick twentysix they can package both those picks and get in the top ten and get a player if they want they could pack it one of those picks and move up with their second round or to do something else and still have an after first round pick they're going to have so much wiggle room and i think elway i get what he did because he had so much excess once upon a time drafting von miller in the top five history shows us that most players you draft super high don't turn out to be on miller they just don't so i think he made a mistake i think the.

"Like definitely he said cleveland and denver were given the option your likelihood of you know hitting out of the park with one of investing in the four hundred thousand or home the six hundred thousand dollar home pick twelve or pick twenty three to me go up exponentially your chances of not missing because you got to swings are just higher than the one swing even though on film in this example the guy is a better prospect coming out of college and it's why love what green bay did green bay was at fourteen new orleans was desperate for marcus davenport they went back and they got a first round pick for next year and they ended up kind of wheeling and dealing brian judkins actually looks like he's going to be pretty good in came back up and got another player but ultimately next year green bay is going to be in such a powerful position because if era writers as healthy they're going to be really good but they're going to have to first round picks even if it is the new orleans saints pick and let's say both of them make the playoffs like when it all started the buffalo bills begin this draft process months ago with pick twenty two in pick twentythree look what they were able to do look how much buying power they had now they traded a player and they got right to twelve with cincinnati bengals because they flipped their left tackle i mean they doing some wheelin and dealin but having those two picks having that wiggle room gives you so much power in the draft now you can try to take a big swing and when you're in the top five you should and this was a drafted if you were especially denver you were sitting there at five and because baker mayfield and sam darnold went off the board any i'd even throw dens award which was a little bit of a curveball three of the i four players were little like whoa you know we're going to get the second best player in this draft potentially on their draft board the first.

"There's not there's not a whole lot opportunity to get away right now obviously we we start rookie minicamp today and there's a lot going on as far as the offseason program but is a chance to take the kind of a breather and there's not a lot that you really pressing over the last few days so it's been a nice break but you know this this weekend will be important kind of evaluate the new guys coming in and at that rookie minicamp brian your top two draft picks both cornerbacks it reminded me of the nineteen ninety nine draft where the packers went defensive background one two and three with antoine edwards fred vincent in mackenzie give us the the reasoning because there's no randy moss like there was in ninety nine in the division give us the reasoning for going cornerback round one and round two certainly that was an area we wanna do address but i don't think there was something that we targeted for those i think that's the way that it fell for us you know here was a guy we had rated very highly and we moved around a little bit in that first round and then found him available at eighteen and then we were very very surprised she josh jackson sitting there forty five and we just thought he was the best value for football team and so we're pretty excited about both those guys you know to to put them in our group and see what what they can accomplish this year we're always fascinated by the moves on the draft board and yes you went down from fourteen to twenty seven then sprang from twenty seven to eighteen to get alexander when did the talks with the saints began about the possible flip flop that allowed the saints to move up to fourteen and get marcus davenport so there's a lot of conversations the week of the draft you know possibilities going up and going back and those certainly happened with the saints then and then certainly the day of the draft is when you start getting more serious about the conversation and what it would take compensation wise to move up or down so those conversations start two weeks before the draft and then the heat up kinda that morning of brian what's up man it's chris simms good job seekers raft congrats and not everything.

"Fourth round is going to be a good player or not i'll bleacher report is a website or i guess a website i mean what do you call what they are it's a website but most people use the app i call it an app but it's also anyway they're very very respected because they've got a million writers it's also a good aggregating service where they link to other sources and so on and they they do all the one of the things they do is they do these lists that they grade teams and you know one writer for them may have a different take than another but i was struck by a couple of things that were written here and this one is from see the writer is for creature report chris rolling i don't know who that is but he evaluates all of the teams in the nfl and the standard of who improved themselves the most of the draft any ranked the packers number waddy said the packers had the best draft of any team in the nfl and i think since we all hope that that's true i'll share with you his reasons he writes these aren't the green bay packers of old these packers got off to a hot start by convincing their orleans saints to cough up at twenty one thousand nine first round pick to move up thirteen spots for an edge rusher like marcus davenport picking up a first round pick next year might be the biggest nod toward improvement of all not that they stopped there the packers use their first round pick on louisville corner gerry alexander one of the top names in the class that they turned around and use their second round pick on iowa corner josh jackson a guy who had some had pegged as a first round talent it's a good all around way to escape the eventual promotion williams purgatory and build for the future not to mention a great way to help the edge rushers look superb trading up for burks was interesting that's the guy picked in the third round but.

"Got all kinds of issues in the third round they took nick nelson the corner from wisconsin who toys meniscus a month ago in the fourth round and then they took more terrorists the michigan defensive tackle who has a heart condition is split all the way to the fifth round it so oakland's the team where you know i think teams what other teams look at what they did up high and set themselves well i didn't have this guy here this guy here this guy here and you see in the middle around a whole bunch of risks and oakland will be the team that i would tell you you know other teams that say they reached a little bit and then they will the dice in the middle rounds and so i mean you know in two or three years you know maybe her condition isn't a problem maybe maybe maybe arden key straits and stuff out maybe nelson gets healthy maybe miller developed and maybe it looks great but a lot of risks that is a lot of is but i'll tell you what i was for the price of what new orleans day to by giving up their future marcus davenport a team i noticed really doesn't you know is this doesn't really have a new york thing to it but i thought that the green bay packers being able to gauge i hear alexander and josh jackson i think that today's put the the league on notice when you can get to lockdown corners with all the dave added tells me that they're not gonna put so much pressure on aaron rodgers and where it affects the giant is potentially these are teams that it'll be fighting for those wildcards as i think that the philadelphia eagles win the division out here and i think that either green bay or potentially minnesota wins the division nfc yeah you know what's interesting about that part is you got a couple of teams that are sort of in the same position as the giants got angel quarterbacks you know i mean rodgers you know roy rogers the agent is or or that breezes but but he's getting a little older too and you know they were able to be patient there they may have taken giant alexander fourteen if they just stopped there and they were looks right out of the.

"Everybody you would have bus guy was and marcus davenport he's really picked it up here your feelings toward going to mobile and making that impact and it caught everyone's not just a play during the season but you up against some really good competition at the senior bowl on a league at after i calmed down in remember that i can play football too and kinda kinda gotta go okay all right right thank you you are was marcus davenport saints first round draft pick the saints traded up from twenty seven to fourteen with green bay packers to trade up and get marcus davenport deuce interesting little tidbit from the first round thirty one players had agents in round one lamar jackson being the only player that did not have an age of the representative eleven out of the thirty one including marcus davenport eleven picks out of the thirty one picks were represented by see a california creative arts agency and it just goes to show you those guys like jimmy sexton tom khandan who are super agents in the nfl but eleven thirty one represented by one firm yeah that's pretty strong i mean they do a pretty good job of recruiting guys and i'm a former cia guy myself and i know that the saints have probably at least six or seven players on your squad that rca guys and so eleven first rounder that's wrong yeah i mean look at the guys on this roster currently represented by ca you got marcus davenport now marshon lattimore marcus williams brandon coleman mantar tayo andrews pete so i think they got about seven guys just on the saints roster that are represented by the saints but that are represented by sea.

"You traded a future speak if they're able to get into the playoffs and they win wild card weekend or you don't even play the that pick is at worst twentyfive or high i think that's a win for the for the saints thing too is the fact that you're not gonna get a sniff of a defensive in at twenty seven twenty seven like marcus davenport and so you can get a guy get a player but he's not going to be a game he might not be that guy now last year lawson we talked about him a lot he fell into the fourth round concerns we talked about the knee ish right that daddy had any fell into the fourth round the cincinnati stayed healthy use a man down that you coming off the edge and so sometimes too i think what we'd all don't get is the medical parts how you certainly fit in certain schemes certainly does matter into that but i think right now if you go out if you talk to the top college coaches today they'll tell you they can find a quarterback before they can find a pass rush defense of in that they becoming an endangered species in the football world today they either playing college basketball basketball all they playing wide receiver tight in seven on seven change that rule obama six foot four guys south more and i don't wanna play defense and i want to catch up i will be and i'm gonna play all summer in the south played eleven months out the year so we have to adjust to what we see changing in the football world not only from the prep ranks into the colleges because that's you feeder system into the pros sitting here in the fifth round we've got to pick here one sixty four we're good ways away but when you look back to the history of this this front office may and the fifth round has been awfully you go back and look tyler davidson or starter at nose tackle kenny stills been highly productive player not.
