I mean, Adam Frazier is leading that team right now is another new pickup. And a lot of their offensive stats. But this is a team that you are like, just watching them play the game. They enjoy it. They love it. And I'm saying this watching them in the back in the last season. When you see a lot of teams just like grinding, they never look that way. They look like every day. We're fun to be at the ballpark. We're going to win this game and I'm hoping this is a team that gets into the playoffs. And I think this is a year when the casual fans learned the name of Logan Gilbert. Yeah? Yes. Stuff wise as a pitcher. And he's led their entire staff, and this is a staff, you know, like I said, it's got a cyan winner and Robbie ray. They've got some big names and Marco Gonzales and pictures that we've seen have success in the past and yet it's Logan Gilbert there with a .058 year aim so stupid and we'll see those numbers get more realistic, but he's been lights out and you're kind of like, wait, who is this guy? Where did he come from, especially looking at the names on that staff? He's the one that's been shining. All right, before you go, we got a bleach street coming up asking about the early season success of Francisco Lindor, who obviously has been so important to the Met so far this year. What are you seeing in the mets? Yeah, well, and honestly, single and smile, right? I mean, just to meet anything exemplifies like the ten year old and all of us that's like just giddy to play. And similar, I think, to Eric Hosmer and bob Melvin, I think bookshelf showalter has done the same with Francisco Lindor. I think he has taken the big market of New York and kind of narrowed it back into like, hey, you were a player that I absolutely believe in. And I don't know the words the buck has shared, but you watch the relationship. You watch the shots of them in the dugout and him kind of like arm around and talking to him. He definitely sees and understands the psyche of Lindor. It seems like and is bringing out the best in him. And you watch the mets and of course the biggest news is Jacob de Grom, you know, not on the staff and yet now you see like their entire pitching staff and the like so many pictures and you mentioned Logan Gilbert with a Mariners and you're seeing pictures within the mets organization that aren't named Max Scherzer that aren't Chris Bassett and the big names that we were expecting to carry the staff. Of course it's early, but that to me is like what gets me excited is at some point Jacob Brown is going to come back later in the season and this pitching staff is already the best in the majors so far. He had to come up here and figure it out and then when you find out and talked to some folks who say look twenty two is when twenty two twenty three is when really good players figured out they. Just take a leap. They just get better whether they're in the minors majors doesn't matter they get. They get better at that age and so next year when he comes back here at twenty two. I think the expectation is. He's comfortable he's figured things out. He understands how to fail. He's seen it he. He's gone through and cleaned up some of his bad habits. And i think by next year. I think scott would say the same thing. You're gonna see jared kalmyk. That is ready to start really contributing and maybe not carrying this team yet. You might be year too away from that but really starting to show what he's made of and that is the case. Then jeff passan right. Is it still going to be three to five years with you. Well no he said. That's a to a bishop. No i think what. Jeff means three to five years before they're like the astros a dominant team. That is filled spitting out right. Everything's done and you're spinning. Our prospect after prospect doesn't mean that you can't make the playoffs next year. All of these guys are at the big leagues. The machine is is is running in the building phase three to five years. You've finished the building phase and now you're in the maintenance phase right. It is hard to be great until you're older. Who has has fundamentally different than jared kalmyk is seemingly the ability to play loose. That's the one trait that he has and some of the guys that you've seen with the ability to play loose that have just exploded onto the scene in baseball malaysia. Three or four years. Donald is 64 downtown Seattle KOMO News time. 6 36 The Pushback is escalating today between Republican governors and President Biden after the president came out yesterday with new federal vaccine mandates Florida's governor Rhonda Sanders, today, signaling he's prepared to support businesses that refuse to require that Nations for their workers when you have a president like Biden Issuing unconstitutional edicts against the American people. We have a responsibility to stand up for the Constitution and to fight back ABC News legal analyst Royal Oaks joining us on the common news line to delve into this hot topic. Royal Can the federal government make the private sector follow these rules and require businesses with 100 or more employees to be vaccinated? Does Santa's have a case to really good question? And unfortunately for both sides, the answer really is not known. We've been thinking for months about this old Supreme Court decision from 19 Oh, five that essentially said it's okay for governments to force vaccines than it was smallpox. Because it's a public health emergency. We don't know that the current courts are going to uphold that. But we do know that the strategy by Joe Biden's administration is there's this OSHA law, occupational safety and health, and it says that the government has a right to implement regulations to protect workers' safety, Biden says it's very unsafe if people aren't being vaccinated. Therefore, he thinks his rule is legal. But the Republican National Committee is planning on suing. What are the grounds? Well, the grounds would be that the OSHA emergency rule Vision, allowing protection for Of grave danger has to do with things like asbestos flying around the air and work pleasure, toxic chemicals the chemicals never before they will argue as a court permitted requirement of a vaccine as a condition for a job to qualify as such an emergency rule. In addition, they said, Yes, we know that private employees make be fired if they don't take the vaccine, But that's a contractual question between the boss and the worker. It's different from the question of whether per federal law the government has the power to force you to get this. Shot or lose your job. These fines are serious. Is that enough to scare off some employees and employers from doing this? Absolutely. I mean, you're talking 14,000 bucks. For each employee who should have been vaccinated, but was not. You've got whistleblower protection. So you know Madge in the next cubicle over his freedom to ring up the government and talk about this, And if it's a blatant violation, having to do with many people, you could be fined $140,000. So you can vet employers are going to take this very seriously. Of course, A bunch of employers are already saying Don't show up for work unless you get the vaccination, including, for example, Wal Mart, Disney and some other big companies. What about federal contractors? Did they Have any say You know they're kind of caught in the middle here. What Joe Biden's administration is saying is that federal contractors are really in the same boat as regular federal employees. They've got to get the vaccine. They've got 75 days to do it, and employers have to give them paid time off for vaccines. And as they have side effects, they have to pay them for that time as well. Health care facilities that get Medicare and Medicaid money those employees have to get vaccinated. So you're talking in the neighborhood of 100 Million Americans being forced to get the vaccine and the president today he Is trying to keep the mask mandates in states where Republican governors are banning them. But he's got this war of words heating up with the Santas when it comes to that, and actually lost a case with the Santas. Today, the court sided with Florida's governor to reinstate his school mask mandate ban That's right in general. The federal government has been pretty fortunate in the court system in recent months, with decisions generally upholding the broad right of the government to enforce efforts to stop covid, but I think you're going to see even more disputes. You're gonna see Probably a dozen states with GOP governors filing suit in the next few weeks to challenge the Biden administrations regulations.
