"A catastrophe secure a place in next season, Champions League, normal service resuming for Thomas to roll over, you're not completely convinced. I normal service in the sense that this was, I think, the minimum goal, and obviously they've got the FA Cup, which would be an extra boost for them, and they recently kept final. Mason Mount scored a great goal. That's pretty normal. But I can't judge anything on this game when the opposition goes down to ten minutes so early. And who do you think should start up funding the effect of final then? Lukaku is on good form and we set the other day that you still expect harvest to be the one starting. Yeah, but they expected Harvard's to get some minutes in. He didn't play at the weekend. That's strange. He didn't play a midweek. He was on the bench last night. I don't know if he had a knock, was recovering from it. But to me, is it ideal to going cold without having played in two weeks in a final? I mean, it's a bit strange, I think. It's an odd one. I wonder if he's planning on playing Luca, but in terms of who should start for me, I haven't hardly played together, but it's me. It should be Lukaku Harvard's and math. Let's lose this team over nonsense idea. Oh, he gives you shift or whatever. The other two guys will do it too. Thank you. Sticking with leads, they're in the relegation zone. Now would be surely should mean to point out, but I will be sure that they were not in the relegation zone when Jesse marsh took over. So Jules, should we be blaming Jesse? Not just him, I think he has been, again, unlucky but yes, I was with injuries with fitness in general. Losing people I should tell us for the whole remaining of the season, for example, is nahim ugo and do silly tackles like Luke ayling and like Dan James either. And let's mention him too. Calvin Phillips tackle. That was the worst. That was the worst of the three. And this is the guy you're looking to for leadership. By the way. And that's not JC march fold. No, exactly. Maybe he likes a bit of leadership, maybe I think that's what they were safe. You know, when they want those two games in added time each time the wolves game and the Norwich game, where they thought, okay, we should be okay now, not expecting that Burnley and Everton will get those wins when they didn't. I don't know. But now is tricky. The point, the level one point with Bernie, but with the game in hand, that would have played one game more. The one point behind Everton or two points beyond Everton now who also have again multiplay. It's not looking good. I think they're going to be okay. Because optimistic there. It's more of a sense that, you know, people say, oh, they're too open. They're too open. In football, you get three points for a win. And if I had to guess who was more likely to win games by gambling a little bit, its leads. Even then. But if he does go down, this is the $1 million question. I mean, I've been told that if he goes down, they're going to keep. He should, right? Yeah. I should be okay too for the champion zig after ninja draw with Majorca bag. Fans are unhappy with petechiae as they want just one of the last 5 games and are limping to the finish line. This was an ugly game. Was it ugly game? They had their chances. They didn't convert them. I think they'd be feeling differently if they wanted. Your boy, marciel, or the lesser spotted Marcial dermott Kerrigan, our colleague from the athletic called really funny. Look, I think he's a great manager. I don't know what they're expecting for him. I thought they would go to the start of the year. I thought they were better than the squad was stretched. I see no reason why you should change l'hopital for somebody else. But there are people there who really want him gone because they think Sevilla belongs even higher. Look, they're going to finish third, I think. Yeah. And I think that's good. I think it's a good season for you. Well done. Did I pronounce it correctly? Very good. We'll referee the Champions League Final. Jules help get Real Madrid and Liverpool fans excited. We're not really because I've never really thought it was a good referee, but hey. He refereed the final last season. For example, between most of the united and Villarreal, maybe this is a good moment for Spanish clubs. More than English clubs. I'm not the biggest fan. I have to be honest here. But what could go wrong? You know, it's a French reference referees are and he's playing at home. He's playing at home, so he won't have to try. You have the support of the home. Exactly. You got champions of Scotland. Well done to them and your boy orange plus the glue is vindicated. Well done to him. Yeah, well done because look, I've had the privilege spending a little bit of time with him. I did a piece for ESPN a few years ago. I think he's a phenomenal phenomenal character. He's a great guy. He's honest. He's direct. He's humble. I think he tries to play. He's Patrick. Tries to play really good football. And when he moved to Scotland, you know, people are like, oh, who's this Muppet from Australia? Look, and he's got a funny last name, and he's, you know, he's Greek and he tells a great story about because he comes from a immigrant family. Big week community in Australia and Melbourne, I think, is where he grew up. And he goes to school and the suburbs have and you know, he's like the only kid with the funny Greek name or funny to other people, not funny to him. And everybody has Marmite sandwiches. And he opens his lunch and he's got like moussaka and he's like, you know, he's not Lebanese jewels. But he's like, he's like, why can't I be like the other kids, you know? It's a great I think it's a great story. I think he's a great let's not forget. By the way, dude won the Asian cup a couple years ago, which is not nothing. It's not mister nobody from nowhere. No, I simply finished 25 points behind rangers last season. Exactly. Respect. Respect. Is our boy would say? Exactly. More champion jewels. This time it's Ajax and Eric ten haack, who win the after 5 no win over here in vain. That's right, 36, I think I believe titled in a history, another one for him. Of course, he got the thought there was a good title race with PSV. We mentioned the PSV fennel game on the last show and we're going to mention it in the next case. And the next question is well done to I asked one way to leave to be fair to this amazing disappointing elimination against Benfica, but in terms of and the fact that they also lost the Cup final, but in terms of the league, this is where you expect them to do to win they did it well done analysis, how many players live in the summer because I think it could be a very, very different team next season. What I like about the work that he's done and I think it's I think it's a credit to tin haage is if you watch the IX team, which let's face it, if you don't follow the ara de VZ, right? The last time you might have seen niac is in the year that they had to run in the Champions League a few years ago with the young and Donnie fun debate and whatever. They play a very different football. The movement of the full backs is different. It's very, very noticeable because they have a target man that's Sebastian all right, which didn't have that. So he's evolved. He's evolved with the players. He's not one of those stereotypical dogmatic coaches. And I think he's going to need that flexibility to united completely. And galba mentioned PSV, they finished second, but at least they're going to apology from the area division after what happened at the weekend and the penalty on Mario junior. Yeah, I talked about this on Monday. Mario junior turns his back, his arms by his side, the ball hits his arm and still to give the penalty and pay if they drop to a two, which in the end means that the title is decided one week early, as opposed to the last day of the season, which would have been better. Credit to the RGB for apologizing and saying, we got to I would hate it though. What good does it make now? So sorry, but the mistake was to have it both ways. We can't ask. No, I know that. I like it that they apologize because they were human. We made a mistake. I know, but it's easy not to say that and said, I was sorry. It's not easy. If it were easy, you'd have some of these Muppets who were free in the Premier League in Syria in La Liga apologizing. How often do you get by the way, how about was done mostly? Honestly, the whole thing, it looks like an old age home. Moss, and dean. And the other one, like handling around the page. Seriously, no. You should have retired 5 years ago. No, and even like, do we want to go to Paul tyranny? Come on, man. Let's just leave that 25. Spurs and arsenal.

"To put up those three references showing you do. I need to say it's really important. They use this word here because this is what he wanted you to know. That's why they used it that in this. And so what are we you know constantly coming back to us and i think I think i was really guilty of that. And i still can be Guilty of just trying to give too much of that. And that's why slides have helped me. Because i'm like okay. No this is my roadmap moving here not going to go over here and talk about that for vitamins. What's next and the more disciplined. Stay there the better off. they are the better off. I am because we're gonna at least know what we're trying to communicate that day and so that's actually limited a lot of it because if i start to go down rabbit holes in my prep. I'd be like you're not gonna like in my mind. You're not gonna have time to go there. Yeah so that's not even worth pursuing right. now stay on. it's tough though. yeah. I really like this is interesting. I'll might sure this in rely in alignment with this. I really rely on repeatable phrases a lot instead of the servant. Sometimes there's some points but things that i might even say through a series. I might say multiple weeks in so it's kind of like instead of trying to fit. Everything do fit a lot stuff in a sermon. I i'm guilty of that. But i think sometimes it's even reiterating those things because it sticks with them then when you hear people saying them it's like okay. That's better than because i think there's a. There's a statistics out there that by monday afternoon or something. How much People really remember what you said. And all that stuff right. But i did find this on pastoralist dot com and i think this is a legit Resource in two thousand thirteen. This is back. But it's interesting to me mark driscoll says. He spends one to two hours a week but he talks about his god given unusual memory that he has to take that for. What is after listening to Tim keller wanna small rural church. Six to eight hours in a manhattan church fourteen to sixteen hours. This get stressful for me. John piper spends all day friday half day saturday by that point. "But brand brandy came and she was visiting our world and then as she revived the cocker and like yes. She was basing and in some song. I don't even know what the song was Some song about conquering and stuff And she worked with the conqueror because she had something. Okay lady richard. Hello are you going to react to anything were saying. so so. she made some kind of deal with the conqueror and now were all stuck We've been taken over Were power were mostly powerless. Were working. I mean like Okay so we like. But that's all we know lady which beard okay. She's not responding to me consumer else. Come up here okay. Connie it's It's your aunt We promise were not. We're telling you everything and okay so there's more we do no so we do know that the deal. They struck some sort of power exchange so space on power in commerce and something else brandy some personal thing with brandy and yet they did strike a deal with us. We didn't just Go along unwillingly. We did go along willingly because we'll have Full access to the bounty of the thirteen sees apparent. A- guess in a way that's not so much sustainable for thirteen sees But we'll be great for us. They said the bounty asserting sees compared to the size of our world. And there's all sorts of other horned sea creature say guests So we'll have easy access elbow sea creatures now. She'll control all of dad but she'll also be. We show spend most of the time in the thirteen sees dominating that world and she's already made deals with guests like Something to do with canals like No more sees just canals so now much change in our world. I mean we'll be. We'll be working. You know we'll have freedom but not as much freedoms we had before But will have a different kind of peace because like is so Yeah so yeah we made a deal with We made a deal basically and also depriving. You're better off being in this world. So are you gonna. I mean i guess it means you won't be able to play pirate anymore. Connie no more piracy for connie. No marciel sees for you to sail. She's not reacting someone takeover for me. All yeah i could take over a good this your sister here So yeah you should have heard the stuff she said about you. Lady which beard. She said she would outsmart you and then we said well. I don't know if you get..

"But please know that when you stand before it on the last day you'll will know that you've had enough inter able to care for so. Don't be wigging out. You know about the size of your church and the size of your assembly and we all are prone to do that. My goodness i mean you were were three pastors three church planners here and it is so easy for your identity to be wrapped up in how many people show up on sunday. I mean that that speaks to the frailty odes in all of us right. That's not to our credit. That's to our shame. You know that we think in those ways I my thought. One one thing to guys as i'm listening to you talking. I reflect back on my experience listening to podcasts. I was struck over and over again by like you were talking about john the baptisms and all the people coming to faith and people who hated the church now in the church. Love the church. It's like look it's clear that the lord did some really great stuff through this like i don't think that can be debated because the tendency amongst evangelicals to win. There's a failure and when this kind of expose piece comes out it's like well. We need literally burn the whole thing down like it never happened like we need so distance ourselves from moscow. Going marciel that anything that ever took place. There couldn't have been from god and it's like you can't do that in a fallen world because if anything scriptures bear witness to the fact that he's always used broken vessels to advance his purposes and that's that's true it's been true for millennia and so i think it's better for us to say you know what the lord obviously was a part of this. He in spite of the sin failure here did some phenomenal. things brought people to christ. I mean stoked f a fire in people's hearts in terms of love for the church and love for their brothers and sisters. And that's the lord's doing It ought to humble us all. I mean that he accomplishes this stuff. Like through our sin and failure not in spite of report from it. No it's right born of the reform tradition. Which all three of us here spouse and hold tune believe that is biblical is a plurality of leaders. Or as we say a plurality of elders. See i grew up in the baptist world fundamentalist baptist world where it may opera Ceo the pastor is basically. You never you. Don't question him and word math and his And i i saw the the impact. I had on my own data. He was a pastor the pressure that put under him. I seeing how it can affect other churches and even though marquette elder's the it was unfortunately you can see the structure where those guys weren't keeping him accountable and it's in many ways they couldn't because the way in which structure that was set up there and i it is scary when one man has that much influence in not much power and and were even changing the bylaws to give him more exactly exactly and i don't wanna make this just you know a bash of of mark driscoll. I think it's a broader problem where we become more concerned about running the church. Like a business where you have a business model and you have bought you have Ceo wars. Yeah and and it's more about the decision making process where pastors become businessmen instead of shepherds. And yes right there about leading this movement which you can hear going back to your point. Justin that everything is about the mission everything is about. What are we trying to accomplish. Which i agree. The church should be on mission but the mission that goes handed to them by god. And it's not the transformation of city in. It's not the mean you you get loss. It's the preauthorized that's right when you look at four. I know we mentioned it. But when paul seems to give clears mission of what the church is when we function as we should we are building each other up into the maturity of the person of christ and somehow we have lost it Two weeks ago. I preach sermon on the shattered church or shattered by the church in because the church has lost. One it's history and to its mission. It runs people over. I mean mark is just an example of hundreds of churches that just run people over because if you show up and you have problems in you in you are your weak and feeble and this church is is is it's like moving somewhere and you're going to drag them down. They just don't have time for that. That time for counseling. They don't have time to carry your burden. Don't have time to sit and weep with you. The thing that paul says weep with those who weep the church should literally if if someone is hurting than we hurt with them but in today's movement. You can't do that because it's more about growth and movement and power and more campuses more more more more more. And i'm looking at going. Look at how many people you have left in the wake of your mission. How can that be the mission of the church really quick before a toss it patrick. I think it's clear that in the early years a lot of that was happening. Like based on my listening to the podcast but then as it evolved in the thing bigger it became all about the growth of the platform. And that's i think. One of the more humbling sobering things that we all need to be mindful of For sure like as we're thinking about about leading leading churches and And loving people Yeah distraught me. John as you were talking about it i agree with you and it seems like that was happening but that was lost somewhat over the course of years. Yeah yeah just a couple of thoughts to piggyback. What has been saying. One of the things i've heard over the years is Healthy things grow right and that is true in part but it depends on how you define growth first of all right. Are we defining that growth by the way that scripture does right versus our our self defined mission right in the way that we've kind of changed the mission and purpose of a church. The other thing is unhealthy. Things grow to write the wheat and the tares grow up together so to just start using the appearance of fruit as justification for doing anything essentially it it really is a manifestation of theology of glory. Right that that the advance of church looks like this. It's this magisterial glorious thing. We're going to take things over instead of fright a theology of the cross where we are simply proclaiming christ caring for each other in a broken world where we are going to have trouble where the things of the world will flourish at times and our glorious to come not here and so i think that is how we define some of those things. We talk about is so important in making sure we're constrained by scripture. Yeah i i think a couple of final observations from million and you guys maybe make yours to one. I was astonished to listen to Almost like to hear driscoll speak with pride about the number of bodies that lay behind the mars hill. Bus like any said. By god's grace it'll be a mountain when we're done And i'm like just interject on that. There's another podcast that interviews about his new church and they literally have a bus parked in the parking lot for that and visual purpose. Yeah so. I'm i'm.

"Hello and welcome to the guy. Ben i'm not i'm not married to j. rush with either i'm jews and this is not jay. This is your son. Gaby's in switzerland on on on the business trip. Let's put it that way shoe. Thank you for coming in the big show about jenner or not though because in two days it will be exactly second debut. He's returned with marco then with us to talk about it and discussed it all will have worked qualifiers. We love women's champions league. Plenty of quick hits as well but really there's only one place to start yup mcdonagh's with us today. We record this on thursday morning. Is the excitement building up in manchester for the return of christiana really is you. I think i think it was kind of unexpected deal when it happened and the got really excited that i think the excitement remainders. There's a bit of a frenzy of people by without those shirts and you know senior rinaldo songs. I think i think it's gonna be. It's gonna be quiet a case on saturday you know. I think he'll play. And i think that the reception be something very different events seen before when he came out with real madrid thirteen in the united by the big thing about the so-called magnificent seven. I think realized that one starts away. Have to deliver on the pitch. And you know that's the main thing is. It's not what the reception is. And i think he's all over and out on the page. We save a riding in his lamborghini. Any we saw him talking with oscar as well. I'm not sure really where they were. Maybe they had a coffee before you. Are you excited. And and what do you make of him coming to them. I'm not quite so excited. Because i've seen renowned play for the last two or three events different so i know exactly what he can bring what he can't bring. I'm looking forward to seeing in play for months united. I'm looking forward to seeing where they gonna play. And i'm looking forward to seeing how the other plaza just around him. I'm looking forward to same whether he's going to be an. I'll use this word carefully. Selfish selfish player was events or where he's going to be more of a team player manchester united. They're the key questions that everyone is going to be asking. And i would say a lot of manchester united fans haven't watched fee eventers so they don't exactly know what he's going to bring to the team. What was he been doing the last few days. We know that he came back. And you and portugal when he broke that incredible record of the most goals courts in men's international football and then he came by. Who's going to be suspended anywhere. And then they had a police friendly against qatar was. You've been doing in the last few days. And how do you think he's approaching that game on saturday in the sense that it was suspended for the other by john game which meant the mystic guitar game. So you're right the manchester less friday. So he had to do five that quarantine pistons before he could train. he was released. When crunchy on tuesday. So from tuesday. Wednesday thursday friday full session for aldo. Which means he'll play the fact that school to and he's lasting for portugal last week so he's he's planning is a case said well he fits in and i agree with you. That one thing that surprised me. Let's do it in a scientific. Portugal against them was how what has changed. And how i do i do. I do slightly united and and think we're who is gonna be. We're now two thousand and nine now renaldo. Twenty-third seen the guy that's all. These madrid is a very different. I think you have to kind of accent. In addition to the guy that will be basically play up front. Won't help out. Defensively won't really do much for the team and he could actually have a negative impact with the club of fernandez. Marcus rush the positive. Deductible outweigh the negatives. But i don't think it's a wholly positive opthamologist. Pretty wild yes the excitement. He's down the whole squad excited to be with him. I think it could be quite difficult plant to accommodate the team. Because he's limitations now. Yeah we would come back on that bit later for. I wonder it's better for him to. I suspect that he would be. I presented to the bill. Von was In that game against leeds. I think it was and and then just him again in the dressing room and get ready whether he starts always serban and gone goes on the bench and i wonder if he's better for him to almost come on a sub just just for the incredible atmosphere. Can you much when you're going to stop me up. And then when he's gonna start getting ready and then you have the fourth referee with their born number seven replacing whoever it is and then coming on that will have such a big impact. Maybe more than if he starts and is among the eleven and walked on the pitch she think renowned happy coming on as a substitute at least he would come on zone yet true otherwise. He's one of twenty two really that work onto the play. He's he's white and go. Who wants to play from the style. He had one on negative impact. Right from the site. Wanna come on with twenty minutes to go and make the plan particularly well and he's gonna try and soda out and he can't do. I think he's going start the guy if he's fit said he's fit and he's been training hard. He has to start the game. You you think he wouldn't stop even if he's just trained or four days and two of those days with even three when the squad was on a half full because all the other players on international judy yeah played poker. You'll having barely been there. So he'll play you know this. This isn't the renaldo show. It feels like he's thrown out show but he's one of the twenty two players he he should be in the book and he should be. It shouldn't be a case where we've all come to all the stalwart rinaldo. It's about winning points. And getting the result and newcastle of f. I don't think monday nights you'll need to bring rinaldo. We need to go problem. So i think it should be make as normal as fossil. Yes celebrate these but make normal as possible because the signing to score goals to we haven't to be. I remember the last time when he was fit. He was a substitute. I mean typically. I wasn't against bolton not any came on and gaby's that will show you step. Hose and connect connect sightsee put i'd be. I'd be amazed if in the last ten years with real madrid events. He's epstein somebody's foot. Yeah that's a good. I mean i'll be honest with you. I'm going to the game for french. Tv and i'm going there just for christina. Could not care less about the school. The who scores the goals who stars. Who doesn't start. I just want to secret santa. that's all. That's what i'm interested in boys. Let's let's talk a bit about tactics then to less. Have your opinion on where if you sold scheme and your your far more handsome and so that where what would you do with. We've got gap. Has this theory has to play in a frontal. That's where he played eighty percent although augie so in with portugal on his own up front still do of course but gabon. This idea to get the best. After channel you have to play to play with the murata with the battle gre- to certain degree. I would say i can understand why gap senate. But he's not somebody that combines with other players even when he had egwu implant up front with him he was always looking for an hour. Run out look for igwe kabbalah and never played one-twos with each other. It's not like when you see into laos season and likud martinez play with each other was renowned. I just want to join him with anybody else. He wants to be the individual. And i know he doesn't agree with me but i would play as the center forward and i'll play with two y plays tucking infield from you know whether it be sent show a and greenwood marciel and sent show ever..

And i'm glad that i was able to educate you are on this home and say they did not know until i told them which tells made it. A bunch of y'all didn't know either anyway. Swimming week is the first week and it. Just don't really like do that much for me. But clearly i have jokes but the track track and field has begun. It is ridiculous. We've season out here on the track if you have seen it. That is the one this is. So i got this thing that really bothers me which is in a lot of you. Younger folks have a tendency to do this. Which is when y'all be getting mad and stuff to wife. Oh say before the wife owes even say it right so like wish car. Richardson first came to prominence at the trials and people decided that she was going to be a new hero. They was all about it because she had that. Big old earned colored. We've got. I don't know which one it is. I don't separate these things very well. But she had it and it was like fiery and all of that stuff. I saw people you know to. Why does go have something to say about her hair. And i'm like have you ever watched track and field. They if they got something to say about here. That's fine but she won't be. Maybe the seventh person they get around to is all about ridiculous hair when it comes to the sprints and ladies out there that is always like i don't know how they pick out which one day going get understand is probably very difficult to maintain especially when you country and you do an audit running sweat and everything anyway. It is that time of year and it has happened. And i drive entertainment from watching these sorts of things they be who you are but i would think that that can help you run fast. That's all i'm saying. That's my only guess. But we had to one hundred meter final before the men and look. Let's be real. We ain't how this year but the hundred meters is the number one event at the olympics period. Right like this one event that i could reasonably say everybody in the world has a chance to be a champion. This one is the most basic fundamental athletic activity that we could come up with. Is the one hundred meter dash like. I cannot say that there is anyone who did not have access to running one hundred meters what it takes to be the whole lot alert audit. This is the one but this year washington hundred meters. And i really know nothing about anybody that was in the race. I can't think of the last time that i had felt that way. And it's not. It's not like i follow track all the time but i always felt like i knew who the people were that were in the hegemony final. I'll think i knew who anybody was in hundred meter final which i think kind of led to a joy in watching the hunting meter final. Play out in the sense. That amy the hundred meters was one by dude from italy. I didn't know that they was doing to sprinting. I knew they watched it. But i didn't know. They were actually competed. But hold up though the dude From italy his name is lamont is some black dude from from italy. Name lamont and he ran a nine eight zero. Yeah i did. No such a thing was possible. I haven't bothered to read. The backstory is all. Because i'm going to be honest with you any story you tell me is going to be less fun. Whatever i could come up with him by own hit and the truth doesn't matter that much to me right now. I did people tell me though that they look lamont. And lamar good his name. Lamar marciel jacobs. Marcellus is his middle name and they said they looked in waikiki and he was listed as marcel jacobs so apparently in europe they call him marcel. But in america we know a lamont. We see one. His name is lamont. Now led me to a couple of thoughts that i'll tell you shared a little bit on twitter but i'm gonna keep going on this because i think these are two fundamentally important points that we need to understand here number one as.

"Who is the captain of a different team. A different team in the league. Unless no they did it. Did i say interesting does that a new signing of what's going on good he's not gonna play just warming up with this. He's going to play for us. We're a bit short handed. And i said you're a bit short handed. You've got the same number of players as us. We got six players and he looked at me and he said just call it a competitive edge and he winks and that was that was it. We took it down. We took him down in the front so we needed that motivation. Say that's what that's what that's what got your your blood boiling was were. We were fired up so said that was eight days ago and i think about that. I'll be thinking about all the time. Fifteen twenty times a day to get about victories so a super bowl win which i admit is marginally more impressive than him out of five but only a little bit a little bit a super bowl win all these years later. How often do you think about it. Do you think about it every day. Does it cross your mind every day. You know. I wanna say every day. No but i mean i do think about it but you know what's funny is what stands out more to me or like the bid losses that i had in my life. Yeah like I probably think about In high marciel year of high school We were playing our cross town rivals and the winner went to the playoffs. It was a bad year for both teams but the winner went to the playoffs. And the loser you know. That was the end of their season against our cross tower. I was. I grew up with a lot of the kids that were on the other team. And and the games between us. We're always extremely heated and close always came down to the wire combat as well right. Oh yeah yeah. This is the whole game. The whole game is distressed talked And so this one came down to the wire and we ended up. Losing it was. It was a crazy finish so we were down seven. scored a touchdown with like a minute and a half to go in the game and we decided to go for two instead. Kick the field goal. We go for the win So we read a play that we never ran. We might coach. Just put that play in During the time between the touchdown and the and the extra point call the timeout. We talked about a play. I get the hand off. I'm running towards the silent. Get hit but i'm able to dive over the top and reached the ball into the endzone. Right our stands are going crazy. Everyone's losing their minds. It's like pandemonium minute. Yes there's a minute and twelve left and this team on fourth and twenty fourth and twenty with forty six seconds. I still remember the exact time. Like wow four. Four thousand twenty. They throw one deep down. The sideline it goes are the other corner playing opposite of me goes up to intercept it and it goes straight through his hands. There receiver catches it. Three plays later. They score a touchdown and they win the game. And while i think about that game because that's always been such a motivating factor for me because it was my last year in high. School is right before college And i use that motivation. Like i'm never gonna let this happen to my team again. Yeah and say that you know. I still think about that. I think a little bit more of a super bowl which is which is wild. But that's just such a motivating factor for me. But you know it makes a lot of sense. I guess in so many ways because all of us those those years i mean i found a look back at school years now and you think from the ages of thirteen to eighteen those five years the teenage years right. They felt like forever for like so much happening. You think five years ago but but for obvious reasons that such seminal moment so it makes a lot of sense that that game meant opposite meant so much to them but meant so much to you now because it is a big big part by love the fight you think about as much super bowl the good thing is i do have reminders office. I'm super bowl trophy. Have some memorabilia. Downstairs patriots elvis. I have friendly reminders. Around the house. But i would be lying if i said that i didn't think about About that high school football game that we ended up losing g. Still see any of the anyone back in the day in zig at brought these for the tb. Oh yeah oh of course. It's one of the first things that they they they always. Hey shan you know. And we're usually sitting around having some beers or some drinks and Somebody will just say you know. Winning a super bowl is cool but you remember in high school. Beat you guys. I walked out of the room. Just lift and talk about five six minutes just had an idea a throw this out that i mean i've just been talking about us. Bats still going strong off the off the all these. Why don't you get what are you on a rematch. What you get get those teams together a great idea. Well if i wasn't worried about my hamstring snap and clear off my phone i was. I actually loved you. There's actually a couple of my friends out here in colorado now where we live there in a flag football league that they do and during the fall and one of the guys that i golf with us the quarterback and he's been asking me to come out and join the team and stuff but i don't know that's a commitment and talk about competition. I could play a friendly game pickup. But yeah if it's football i'm gonna i gotta i'm gonna have to go hard and then i go gear hurt football game. Take out some pool guide. Yeah i saw that she that happened. Because i know you love your your other people as well. You love your soccer. We talk about this. Has some yours. chapter happened. But the spurs as well brighton as well during his career and there was some footage that was released the other day that he walked up to his mates five five or site game just played the actually who was. A boy alerted a crew member to smoke coming from the fort kevin though the crew member did not believe him at first it soon became apparent that a fire had started on the ship but a number of things went wrong as the crew tried to extinguish the fire and passengers attempted to reach safety. The standpipe on the ship was in working condition but the hoses were old poorly constructed and the water hose. The crew tried to use fell apart when they tried to use a newer rubber hose. That too failed but this time because they did not realize that the coupling from the blown hose was still connected. Captain van dyke decided to beach the boat and he ended up ordering the pilots to go to north brother. Island as the ship went full steam ahead against the wind. The fire quickly spread toward the passenger's though many people did not use life preservers. A lot of the life preservers available were old and rotting. Many people did not know how to swim at this time and as people try to save themselves by jumping ship in their dressy clothes many died since the ship beached at an angle people ended up having to jump into deep fast moving water on top of all of this. The crew was not well trained in emergency situations if at all and the ship itself was not up to the best fire safety standards even though quarantine hospital staff on the island people from nearby boats and two men incarcerated on records island helped rescue people only about two hundred and twenty eight passengers made it out of the disaster without being hurt. The community was devastated in little. Germany changed significantly after the disaster. Captain van schaik had not given orders of what to do during the incident and he the pilots and the crew failed to complete the duties necessary during an emergency van. Hungarian newspaper editor laslo bureau filed a british patent for the ballpoint pin a ballpoint pen. It's one that dispenses pink. A small rotating metal ball at its point. The ballpoint pen is served as a cleaner and more reliable alternative to dip pens and fountain pinsk. The concept of using ballpoint pen emerged years before bureau filed for any patent in eighteen eight an american leather. Tanner named john loud originally patented. The ballpoint pen lout wrote that the pan would be especially useful for quote marking on rough surfaces. Such as wood course wrapping paper and other articles were an ordinary pan. Could not be used. But the idea didn't go too far. It was good for writing what leather but it was too rough for paper. In the following year other people filed patents or early ballpoint pens. But these pens weren't commercially. Viable many failed because the ink inside overflowed did not flow evenly or whatnot flow at all. It took until the early twentieth century for an inventor to get the ballpoint pen right. Hungarian newspaper editor laszlo bureau was frustrated with the unreliability of fountain pens and realized that ink used on newsprint dried faster and didn't smudge his brother. George was a chemist and bureau solicited has helped create a better pin. They experimented with different inks and they decided on a ball design that allow the pen to write without leaking a lot. Vero introduced the pin at the budapest international fair in nineteen thirty one on june fifteenth. Nineteen thirty eight bureau filed a british patent for the pin but the threat of nazi persecution during world war two let the bureau of others to flee europe and heads argentina. In june nineteen forty-three they filed a patent for their ballpoint pin and argentina and began production in argentina. they're paying with called the baron a portmanteau of the name bureau in the name of a friend of theirs. The royal air force in britain reportedly purchased thirty thousand of their ballpoint pens. The bureau brothers pins did not leave at high altitudes like others did soon patents for the ballpoint pen. We're being filed in two different companies and the ballpoint pen began to show up around the world after world war. Two many companies purchased the rights to manufacture the ballpoint pin. They began to produce their own designs. One notable name in this phase of the ballpoint pens. Evolution is marciel bic. He bought the patent rights in france and brought the price for the pin down today. Ballpoint pens are popular across the globe. They have a huge interest. They want to build infrastructure through me and more to get to the indian ocean so this coup instability resulting. I don't think is in china's interest but they're staying largely pretty quiet. India has some influence but not a huge amount We have almost no influence over the military ourselves. We've been harshly critical of them bef- from their treatment of the hindu population which i'm sure people. At least some people have heard about a few years ago where they basically drove. Almost a million people will get people out of the country So where does it go from here. It's hard to predict. i don't think either side the military or the public at large is likely to back down soon And then you have all these ethnic armed groups that have been and i mentioned earlier fighting against the central authorities for years. They pretty much with the protesters So there's a possibility that you get actually more fighting In the coming weeks and months No easy way. Out of this satellite. How far away from the end and what happens. The hardest say It's always hard to make predictions in these cases. But i would expect that this will continue in some form for months at least Some people are predicting civil war. I i don't know if i would go quite that far but again. That's there's no sign of of either side backing down. So i think the most likely scenario is that this continues in some form and that the country as a whole Just goes downhill. If i said the economy's collapsing lots of violence and again it's the military that's responsible for the violence. Is you know. People who've been protesting have been very peaceful undestood ambassador. This morning is ambassador washy l. and he'll tell us a little bravado a burma off now known as miramar. How you ambassador. I'm doing well thank you. You were the investor. The miramar and americans don't know the country that well. Why don't you fill us in. Sure thing yeah. I was in there Until last night It's a country of about fifty five million people It's on the indian ocean with thailand to the east china to the north and india and bangladesh to the west. And i think the two key things to know That relate to what's going on right now is. This is a country that's been ruled by the military for most of the last sixty years are very repressive brutal military the last fifty or sixty years so one struggle has been between the the sort of forces of democracy Who who want freedom. Democracy civilian control military versus the military and the other struggle. That's been going on is really between the majority So-called berman population and a whole host of ethnic minority communities that tend to inhabit the border areas around the country. Many of them have been fighting for some kind of a ton of money for for decades. So it's actually the world's longest running civil war so those two things that both been happening over the last several years the military for the first time each eavesdrop and let a certain level of democracy developed so you had multi party elections pretty free press. People could kind of live their allies and had some opportunities The country have been isolated. It opened up to the world. And that's when we kind of jumped into try to encourage more reform There was also a peace process underway and that resulted in the election..

"Person, woman, man, camera, TV": Trump describes cognitive test
"Trump was interviewed last night on Fox, by Dr Mark Siegel trump was not taking his chances with any old fox host. Who might hold him to say account Oh. No, this was Dr Mark Siegel who said this about trump's leadership on the corona virus early on. Are you impressed by that? The number of Americans who've got that much confidence in the trump administration absolutely do I think that the task force that the president put together, and his leadership on this has been tremendous. That assessment was offered ten days after trump said these words now the virus that we're talking about having to do a lot of people think that goes away in April with the. As the heat comes in, typically, that will go away and April see goes, applauded trump every step of the way, and was there for the right man to conduct this interview about a very vital medical subject, gripping the country's attention, which is the president's lack of dementia or should I say? The president's repeatedly stated lack of dementia? Yes, at issue is the president's terrific brain. Because the President keeps returning to that issue, we must think it's a big electoral winner for him I. Mean Imagine a president who doesn't have early onset dementia in the dream of Alexander Hamilton it. It is why he authored all those federalist papers and didn't give away his shot to one day found the country led by a man who's not insane or model, brained King George. The second wasn't saying by the way and so here we are today. Forty three presidents later led by such a good man with such a good brain that he needs us all to know how good a brain it is keeps bringing up an interview after interview last night. He did so with an actual doctor with credentials that I just cited impeccable ones meaning he loves trump, but also. To remind you a little bit more about Marciel. He thought the Corona virus was great big ball of hype here. He was on March sixth. I'll test the flu. I'll test the coronavirus virus to calm. Fears and people are GONNA start to get the idea that it's not that widespread Siegel was privy to a different test yesterday as the president detailed the difficulty. Difficulty of the cognitive test that was administered a while ago. I gave you this test version of this task. What trump called the hardest parts of this test on the show? A couple of days ago I read some actual words that are actually read by Dr to a patient who might have say Alzheimer's and those words are face. Velvet Church Daisy Green. Now. The point of it is that they're random words. Not Obscure words but words unrelated to each other. In fact, I WanNa let you know that I am so dedicated to this idea that the words beyond related that I saw the official test. The last word was red, not green and I changed it for the just version of the memory test. I changed it to green because I thought that read was to associated with red velvet cake. Thus perhaps skewing the results such as my dedication to the process and adjudication of you, the listener as non demented. That is why I. Ask you to recall those words, can you? Can you do it those words? They were faced velvet. Church, Daisy Green. The president by the way tweaked the test in the discussion that he had with Dr. Siegel like a memory question it's. Like you'll go person. Woman Man. Camera. TV. So that say. Could you repeat that? So I said Yeah. Person Woman. Man Camera TV okay. So in his case, it wasn't unrelated words. It was notably things in trump's direct line of sight. So twenty seconds after the clip I just played when trump busts out the same sequence, you go person. Warming, man. Camera TV. It's not quite as impressive as the actual test. Because recalling the words, he said we're just going down the line. There's a person as a man. There's a woman camera TV that that black I, don't know if I got him in the right order. I wouldn't have got his high marks as trump by the way all of this this impressive world-beating. Demonstration of non dementia. I think it sets trump up pretty well after the presidency. Now there is a downside which is that he won't be able to put forward a diminished capacity defense, if the Manhattan District Attorney or Sdn y brings charges. Out there and Gangster Heaven Vincent the Chin Gigante saying no, you gotta start muttering and shuffled around in a bathrobe early on can't do it at the last minute of Fun Ghoul. But should trump be stripped of his assets and forced to raise money. He will now have the option of touring the country as Donald Trump and his feats of intellect and Memory Prowess Marvel as Donald. Trump remembers five words in order as he repeats the same story about having a friend who doesn't go to Paris anymore as he can flakes, the notion that windmills kill eagles. Also causes cancer as he invents on the spot, different things that a dog can do like get fired there trump you and trump steaks, trump casino, and now the trump, traveling show of medical marvels and mental feats, in which the former president we'll prove himself to be the greatest conjurer that history chronicles the amazing trump gin at a fairground or read it channel near you.
