Biden Ignores Illegal Immigration in SOTU Speech
"General, what did you make about the State of the Union and the giant non discussion of an open border through which millions of undocumented immigrants are flowing, but also fentanyl by the truckload? Yeah, it's disappointing. And you know, I am a first generation American. My parents lived through World War II. They lived through communism and the promise of America is that the rule of law has to mean something that we can't have disorder. You can have chaos on our southern border. And as you know, just this last year alone more than 2 million people illegally entered this country. It's like the equivalent of Wyoming, Alaska, Vermont

Thank you very much. Good to be here. Thank you so tell us what's going on. Tell us when you guys are planning to go across the country and how people can help. Well, it's pretty simple, really. So the day of March 2nd at 7 p.m., the trucks will leave California to converge through the night and to quartzsite Arizona, the morning of the third about three in the morning, they'll take a three hour break there for our break and then at 7 o'clock in the morning, they'll leave port side Arizona and head on to fort Stockton and complete that day. The next day, they'll leave fort Stockton like their way to soft Louisiana, on the fourth, the day of the 5th will get up and run from south Louisiana to the stretch in between Brunswick, Georgia and Savannah, Georgia, all the 5th. And by the afternoon, the 6th will leave the Brunswick savanna stretch out there on I 95 and we'll hit up close to a staging area close to Washington D.C. for the night of the 6 landing to be able to converge with all the other truckers that are participating in this on the day of the

"In to all the games that happened yesterday. Winners and losers. How those matchups are gonna work out as we move forward. Today, we've got another great slate of games. The Wizards and 70 Sixers started softened one o'clock Lakers and sons are on ABC and ESPN Radio at 3 30 Hawks. Knicks foreign five seed in the East at seven o'clock tonight. Then you've got Grizzlies and the Jazz one versus eight in the west at 9:30 P.m.. If Peter Burns always does this if you had the keys to a private jet. You're leaving Miami this morning. Which game would you want to see in person? You can only choose one. A lot of fun stars and all of these games. Frankly, that would be fun to watch in person. I don't know why Peter Burns has to fly private. I mean, I like what he's doing there, but there are commercial flights. I think they go to all of these cities where these games are, so I don't know what we're doing with the PJ, But I'm down to get on a PGA at any point. So if I had to board one today to go to a game Honestly, I'd probably go Lakers Suns, even though I don't necessarily think that's actually going to be the most interesting Syriza amongst the teams. I think that For me. Hawks Knicks is the Syriza that has a ton of question marks, and obviously they're both coming off of significant postseason droughts and rebuilds and I think that that is going to be a fun series. I don't have a sense for who's going to win that Syria's I do think with Lakers Suns, though. Obviously you want to see LeBron I think it's fun. A fun story here with Chris Paul is well on the other side of that one. The signs are like the most disrespected two seed in the history of the world, right like I think there's one part I think Bobby marks is the only person at ESPN who chose the sons in this Syriza's Everyone's choosing the seven seed Katie in this Syriza Lakers Suns and I feel a little bad for the sighting to regard but I'm one of them. I'm also taking the Lakers in this series because If I was a gambling woman, I'm not betting against LeBron James. Okay, Well, you're not alone. J. Williams, host of Keyshawn J. Well and Zubin. He agrees. Every team has flaws me, especially for the Lakers. Two guys coming off injuries where they find that chemistry. Where's the outside shooting for the Lakers is a narrative that always follows his basketball team. I like that. They grind it out and let the one thing you know when you're going to play against Phoenix. Yeah, the banana boat boys. Banana boat boys will be back competing against each other. Cp three, But the fact is look there young basketball team. This is a better in basketball team. They should be the favorite. That's actually a very good point. In terms of you know the sons being young, although they do have a veteran leader, and Chris Paul, who I think is one of the best leaders in the league, But I feel bad for the sons and then the qualified for the post season for the first time in a decade. They climb all the way up to number two in the West, only to be forced to play LeBron James Anthony Davis and the Lakers in the first round after L A, you know, sunk in the standings because they had so many different injuries that they were trying to overcome so I feel bad. For the Phoenix Suns in that instance, and I hate that everybody's picking the Lakers, but In my mind. I hope they prove everybody wrong. I think they're so gifted and so much fun to watch. They certainly have been, you know, and throughout the regular season, and you know, in the times that the Lakers and sons matched up in that regular season they played three times May 9th the most recent where you know the Lakers actually 11 23 21 10. LeBron was inactive for that one. But the other two games On in March, both in March, the sons 11 11 to 94 1, 14 to 1 of four and LeBron James played on March 2nd and he scored 38 points in the center still able to beat him, so they've won two out of three. Against the Lakers. Now, hopefully that can give him some kind of confidence as they go into this first round. But it'll be interesting to see now that LeBron James and Anthony Davis are close to being full strength and healthy again. How that a bold for Ah young team in the sun, So that's a good one into your point about the Hawks and the Knicks. I think it's going to be I really gritty one eye experts are saying, you know the next pretty defense versus Atlanta's finesse filled offense. You know who's going away out there, but No Alan Hahn, host of Barton Han. He thinks it's going to be a close one, too. It's going to be. I think a very even serious I really do and I think it's and I know it's 45. So they're supposed to be right. A 45 Syriza's supposed be even because of the closeness in the seedings. Have the same exact record, and despite the fact that the Knicks were three you know against Atlanta this year, which is how they got the fourth seed. I feel like these air very evenly matched teams and there's a couple reasons why number one. They both have good benches. They both have good veterans coming off those benches. They also both have Core young players, and I include Randall because he's only the sixth season. I have never been to the postseason is their first borrow it for a so for them. It's all new experience. Right? So for them, it's also who is going to shine and who might be a little overwhelmed by it. I think both coaches are great coaches. They both are great coaches, and they've also got some really fun players, right? Obviously we all of watching Trey Young. I think it's interesting. A guy that grew up in my neck of the woods and play for Kentucky down the street from me. Julius Randle. I mean, who would have thought that this guy would jump from 28% from behind the arc to 41% in his seventh season like he's somebody that I found is hitting his stride. He's been great for the next and in their resurgence to prominence Finally, so it'll be interesting to see how these two teams fare against one another Could New York when the first round On, then move on to face the 76 years. I mean, that would be great for the city of New York. I know they've been waiting a long, long, long time for this. It'll be interesting to see what kind of fight Atlanta puts up. And so for the winner of this round in New York and Atlanta, waiting on the other side, and I hate to just dismiss the Wizards like this, but It's going to be the Philadelphia 76 years and my question to you, Amber is do you feel like they have the easiest road ahead to make it to the Eastern Conference finals? Well, they certainly don't have the most difficult. There's that and listen. There was the one seed right. That's the advantage of the one seed. I don't mean to discredit what Russell Westbrook has done this year. Obviously, he's an unbelievably fun player to watch. That's going to be a lot of fun today. What Bradley Beal is done for that team. I'm with you, though. I think that the 76 years role in that syriza and they have easy street to get to the conference championship if they're able to, But you know whether we get the Hawks or the Knicks..

The decision back in March Washington Post, the editorial board declared March 2nd. The governor is quote of Texas. Is endangering the health of Texas and beyond. There was an MSNBC anchor who said she wondered if if states like Texas should face consequences for not following the CDC, which by the way, none of them want to follow him now, saying, it's fine to take your mask off anyway, she goes and says, should they get access to let's say emergency federal help? If they end up with a spike in cases or hospitalizations down the road. They go on to say, Um there is a there was a somebody on MSNBC, Joy Reid. Pushed for a racial component, suggesting minorities don't matter in states like Texas because they're affected more black and brown lives. So, um, anyway, Governor Greg Abbott had a little statement during one of his pressures that I thought was cool. And here is that It is interesting. "He is the director of solutions marketing with ribbon Communications. How you doing today? Greg good. Thanks for having me. Appreciate it. You give us a little background on ribbon. I know it's been going through a lot of transitions, but maybe you could give us a an update on where they're at right now. Well, as I always start out pulling viewers ribbon is relatively speaking and newer brand only maybe three years old four years old, but we represent the combination of a number of very well-known brands in the office and the communication space that includes genband Sonos networks Edgewater networks as well as about a year ago. Yeah. Yep. Acquisition of ECI Telecom, so that gives us a very wide portfolio of products that support the communications industry both service providers and internet prices. Let's carry that concept a little bit one step further and maybe how about a little over view of the relationship of ribbon Communications with Microsoft? Yeah done. We've been working with Microsoft since you can go all the way back to 2007. So roughly fourteen years now and I've started with Microsoft Office Communicator and it's transitioned through the the multiple offerings that Microsoft had over the years link Skype for business and now Microsoft teams in primarily, we've been focused as a company providing session border control solutions that enable the Microsoft products to connect in to securely connect. The pstn. So what is Microsoft's latest offering the operator connect all about them? Well, this is interesting. And let me let me just make sure you know, there's a lot of names in the Microsoft fear. Let me just kind of Step through the various scenarios. So if you were a a teams customer today or considering a migration of Microsoft teams this really three different ways that you can connect to the pstn so you can enable teams calling the the most basic of those is Microsoft has something called calling plans. And basically this is where Microsoft Access share on service provider. This is a very straightforward you pay Microsoft a certain number of dollars a month and you get psdn services. This is really focused on the Edge small business customers. I always typically say somebody maybe with fifteen users or less super convenient, right? You just just let Microsoft know how many users you have and you get your dial tone Mera pass. There is a little bit of a premium associated with that. So if you're a larger organization, it's not necessarily it's convenient, but not necessarily cost-effective and it doesn't allow an organization to pick their own service provider and for that Microsoft for a number of years has had something called direct routing and most of this most of us would just think of that as the trunking. It's it's really Microsoft edge of turkey and then that environment an Enterprise can select their own service provider and then they deploy a Microsoft certified SBC doctor's office location point between teams and the service provider. So as I said direct routings been around for a number of years now the newest offering that Microsoft announced and they they bounce that on March 2nd as part of their ignite show is something called the operator connect. This is a little different in the sense that this is more about a relation log. Ship between Microsoft and service providers. So the idea here is that Microsoft is going to introduce a cloud to Cloud kind of connection..

Decision ended two centuries of lucrative and savage slave trade, where millions of Africans were captured, detain and shipped across the Atlantic Ocean. To the new world. The first boatload of captives arrived at Jamestown, Virginia, in August. 16 19 Eventually, new advances in cultivating tobacco caused the slave trade to explode by the middle of the 18th century. Slavery could be found in all 13 colonies. And was at the core of the south economy. By the American Revolution. Roughly three million captive Africans have been brought to North America in 18 07, with a self sustaining population of more than four million enslaved people in the South. Some Southern congressmen joined with the North in voting to abolish the African trade because they didn't need any more people on March 2nd. Congress approved the act stating quote. This prohibits the importation of slaves into any porter place within the jurisdiction of the United States. From and after the first day of January in the year of our Lord 1808. The bill was heavily promoted by President Thomas Jefferson, who wanted to prevent the spread of servitude to new lands. And here's something else you might not know. The new law had absolutely no effect on the domestic slave trade. I remember being in Charleston, South Carolina. Ah, you're a so ago and standing there and looking at the medicals that held slaves when they were bid on It was harrowing for me to see that The widespread sale of human beings within the South was not prohibited just from overseas and the Children of enslaved people automatically became slaves. By the end of the civil war in 18 65, more than 12 million human beings have been shipped across the ocean is cargo. One million died during the voyage from Africa. "Ten thirty five welcome in live from the specialist studios. It is no co now. Tanner's she went. The ogden was another one that i got thrown out. I got a text saying the ogden for the favourite concert. Venue in colorado. I think he's still got to go red rocks though joining me now up on the hotline is chris would editor and publisher with biz west. Chris are you big concert guy. I've gone to my fair share but I wouldn't say i go very often anymore. What's your favorite concert venue. Oh red rupture definitely. It's so one i missed. I'm sorry i wasn't around for was the the youtube concert red rocks. I would love to have been there at that time even with the thunder and lightning and snow and rain that's fine. i think that's what i think you talked to anybody who's lived in colorado for a while they say oh you remember this content. I mean even. My parents remember journey and def leppard right with a restarting at red rocks. And everybody's just got that one story if you've lived in colorado long so i think the clear answer is red rocks. Absolute like chris. Well let's let's get into this here you know. I was talking a little bit earlier. I was over at the foothills mall this weekend. I went over there twice. Actually there's a nice little golfing simulator place over there when it's too cold to actually go out and golf and sunday afternoon. About three o'clock. It looked relatively busy. Why is this place not making any money. And what if i know. There's some news about mcwhinney possibly perching this. What changes going to be well. You know With with Foothills in particular You know they. They're they are facing foreclosures as we talked about before they got about forty six million dollars On a that they which they have defaulted on a hundred and fifty million dollar construction loan And that's You know going up for Going up for auction and mcwhinney is one of the potential buyers that that ball has had difficulty From the beginning of it really hasn't and i call them all. It's really not a mall anymore. Was a was a mall. It's more of a shopping district Entertainment district now much like the promenade shops in loveland but it it was really viewed as a catalyst for revitalization of that midtown fort collins corridor really from prospect Down to harmony road but It has not really fulfilled that promise and you know buying patterns have changed And there's there's some question about the the structure of it the design of it and I think one thing that mcwhinney would do if they buy. It is try to incorporate more residential Into that project overall to create more More life during more life to bring more people into it Mcwhinney does have an adjacent residential project. There that has done quite well and as we talked about the last week or the week before. Residential is very hot right now so if they are able to acquire it. I think there'd be some pretty substantial changes including i believe Maybe more more residential housing as part of that. But you're seeing now we. We talked earlier this year. Tanner about the potential for commercial. Foreclosures and really for almost a year. Now i've been hearing from bankers and people in the commercial real estate sector that there could be some commercial foreclosures coming and for a while. We had not really seen that with the exception of foothills being the largest commercial. Foreclosure that we've seen in in many years and now Not only is in foreclosure but as we reported last week. The promenade shops in loveland in foreclosure So there's definitely issues that are being felt by retail properties overall. And you're seeing that in in the The inability of landlords to maintain their debt service on some of these larger projects with chris would editor and publisher of biz west. So when you talk about like prominent shops and even now foothills going into foreclosure. Do you expect these new. These new owners to completely switch up. What the look of it is. I know you talked about more residential in in in the foothills mall but what about prominent is it going to be. More shops is going to be more residential. What what do you expect the plan. The layout to be well. It's a good question on on prom. Not chops What would happen. You know it very much depends on who the buyer is and and there are there are there is a misconception out there that winnie is is still an owner of prominent chops. They have not been an owner for many years. but do i do. I think that they would possibly be a buyer I do think that they would be in the in the mix They they still have a lawsuit going on with One of their former partners One one ownership group ago Cogan mcewen that they've had a a lawsuit for a number of years. Now that is in the courts and So that that is still being worked out but makoni is not from an shops today. But i think i think i think I if i had to guess i would. I would be shocked if they weren't at least interested in in coming in. You know what what an owner what would you in terms of reconfiguring that property. That's a really a big question. And i don't i don't know the answer to that You know A lot of these projects are incorporating residential And so i. I would think they might want to look at that as a way to to bring some new life into it. But you look at what's happened in the last year with retail. I mean we were talking about a retail apocalypse. Long before kobe. But it has really hit in the last year. there have been many many national bankruptcies Big retailers that have gone out of business Closures that been announced or or enacted Around the country and Retail is not in a great place right now so that That tells me why you know why these projects have have gone into default but you know reconfiguring them Is is a really big question about what will happen with these. And and i should point out. There's another one Belmar shopping center in lakewood. That is also in foreclosure. That's a almost one hundred and nine million dollars. It's still owed on a hundred million dollar loan so this We're gonna see more and more of these. I think especially with retail big retail property. So as we continue this conversation with chris would editor and publisher biz west magazine. You're right we were talking about the retail changing the retail market changing and evolving and and really dying off in some ways in that in person before covert this seemingly expedited the process. The other thing that i think At least with the fort collins northern colorado even bolder area that we're seeing is the rate of growth. Is maybe pushing prices up faster than what you can turn around make on it so you got to be very smart about the amount of money that you're gonna buy in terms of getting into that space is. That is my wrong on that. Chris or is that a little bit of to the you know the future demand for these areas are the prices are being asked for them now. And maybe you're not able to turn around.

But that the schedule just releasing for the colorado buffaloes september third northern colorado that got texas am They're going to be playing that at empower field too. So that'll be a good one. Minnesota avenue on the state southern california started. Just work your way through it. And then you get in that. Pac twelve Pac twelve conference play. Karl rove did one hell of a job with his buffalo's this year on year on a short turnaround after mel tucker did what he did. Carl had his team in a really good spot. Now what is our or excuse me our to what a season two year to bring and mean four. Carl we'll find out but the scheduled just being released all right. Let's talk The colorado state rams basketball team they defeat air force last night. Seventy four forty four as we mentioned what we're talking with kevin lionel The colorado and david roddy twenty two points and twelve boards. This is you team was only up by three at the half. Yeah they won by thirty. They were up by three at the half. Twenty six twenty three. They were cold as ice shooting in that first half but then they just took off roddy again. Twenty two points boards isaiah stevens. Fifteen points for ceus. you Kindle more ten points this'll would add nine rebounds. This can be dangerous so we'll wait to see they play tomorrow night. Six o'clock tip off on that one against new mexico And i i just have this feeling just a little inkling that to gonna wanna beat up new mexico pretty good for what they did for haning san diego state the mountain west title so i think i like in that one were. We're right on. The watch will continue to watch and see what What the rams can do and if they can get into this tournament. I think it's going to be cool as personally Some people say they're you know they're pretty pretty well in. Here's what they have to do. I think it's going to be pretty deep. Dang close For the colorado state rams to get into this tournament. I definitely hope they do That would be would be very entertaining to get a couple of teams from colorado into the tournament as the colorado buffaloes will be in they ranked number twenty four in the national poll this week so getting some love from from the national medium for the colorado buffaloes okay. Let's talk about the denver nuggets this team. I have been upset with them. Okay i have said that they are very inconsistent. I think both of those things are still true but last night. That is the denver team that you have to have this three game road. They start this road trip. Excuse me two of the first three games that they have. They beat the thunder by thirty then. Last night. they play the chicago bulls the bulls. They're they're not a great team like let's call it how. It is not a great team but these are games at denver has struggled and last night. This team looks good. they win one eighteen. One twelve As nicole yokich just trying to put a stamp on his. Mvp candidacy with thirty nine points. Fourteen boards nine assists. The nuggets beat the bulls won eighteen. One twelve he. He's had forty. Nine career triple double dudes one assist away from getting fiftieth And in that fourth quarter man he just came up. Cues you scored seventeen of the nuggets. Twenty five points in the fourth quarter. That's the type of guy type of basketball player. Have mike morrell noses. The head coach for the nuggets saying that's the luxury of having an mvp candidate. I see all these conversations about want to start a franchise with. I've never seen a cola's name mentioned. And i'm done dumbfounded by that might nominee. I've gotta write in nominee nicole. Yokich guy. I'd like to build a franchise with like we've got here in denver and had great success with jamal. Murray twenty four points. Michael porter jr. seventeen points fifteen boards. When this team shows up. They can be anybody and go deep into the playoffs but now it's just about consistently consistently showing up. They've got a chance to prove that they can and that they are the team that made the western conference finals last year. Tonight they take on the milwaukee bucks last time they played. Milwaukee was ugly hideous..

This tuesday morning Well sees you may not have gotten a fair shake down when it came down to winning the mountain west title but they are doing everything they can do and control in their power bringing in now kevin lionel of the fort collins colorado and kevin in the first half The the rams are so cold from the three point line you you forgot what a three pointer was. Yeah i you know. I just got confused. Kept missing all these long shots. You know there's that little arc way out there that they kept shooting from. I couldn't remember what it was all about. But you know they figured out Sorta kinda actually never really did from three point. Land but yeah. That's one of those. You can laugh at it because it's such a good shooting team. That's not really a concern. I mean it was very much. Just one of those nights shooting but Of all of the things i worry about with the basketball team. The shooting capability is not one of them. It was it was so strange. Who is almost like Saturday repeated itself last night with the same sort of performance. It was close to the half and then The rams just completely pulled away in the second half against air force. Yeah they really were identical. I mean both games. They shot reportedly in the first half and then to start the second half. See if you basically said he forget this we're just going to the rim and and they just manhandled air force inside you know especially david roddy who Is a match up nightmare for absolutely everyone but especially air force and yeah just kind of went inside sort a bunch in the bay and the and the rams really defended well both games. I mean air force does play a a slow plotting austin. So they're always gonna score low but Back to back games holding a team under fifty is pretty impressive..

"march 2nd" Discussed on Bloomberg Radio New York
"Council this is Bloomberg Wall Street week with David Westin from Bloomberg radio L. R. Wall Street week round table of James fish single lows and Michelle Meyer head of U. S. economics for bank of America securities equity markets had a particularly rough week this week as risk investors headed for the hills we're at least for bonds in for gold for our Wall Street week interview on equities this week welcome Gina Martin Adams she's Bloomberg chief equity strategist welcome you're good to have you thank you I must say you and your team we're sort of saying we're not totally shocked that gas sold off well there were a lot of signs suggesting that we were headed for some period of weakness now I don't think anybody could have predicted we are headed for a ten percent cash he did a lot of rotation into very very defensive strategies at her for the vast majority of this year utility stocks at the equity market peak were trading three standard deviations above their long term average is a good example of that low volatility stocks dramatically outperforming high volatility stocks these are kinds of symptoms that you look for for a market that is running on fumes momentum was running out it was just a lot of signals suggesting we were due for some period of correction we got it what is interesting because for a while it seemed like there was this big disconnect between bond market any other market which is presently what you're speaking on the net the bond market side dramatic decrease interest rates are starting to see the flattening or even points inversion of the yield curve which are always indicative of a gloomy outlook yet for a while the equity market held up quite resilient up until this week yes so what was the trigger why invest suite yeah did you see such a dramatic replacing in the stock market I think it's a great point because portions of the aftermarket absolutely reflected that sort of flight to quality in the bond market and the bond market signals were reflected in things like the utilities premium and the defensive share sort of outperformance but not all of the equity market reflected it created this bit of a conundrum however I think what happened in the equity market is this domino effect you saw global stocks underperformed dramatically in the prior in the prior month that suggested to us that there was a rotation out of global shares and into U. S. shares a sort of a flight to quality but I don't want to really eliminate all of my equity exposure because I don't know how bad corona virus is going to be right so US shares held up very very well especially Facebook Amazon Microsoft Google the biggest of the big cap shares with a lot of the best sort of perceived structural growth prospects and then defenses but what happened over the course of the last week as we got a lot more news that the corona virus is spreading right all of a sudden it's spreading to Japan it's going to Italy it's in South Korea it's in the Middle East that kind of information didn't exist two weeks ago so investors started capitulate on their overall equity portfolios at the same time you've got those big names like apple and Microsoft coming out suggesting Hey we're gonna see some earnings damage from this hill and investors had to capitulate on the near term earnings outlook this is I think a lot of this is due to the shock oh my god coronavirus is coming to the United States what's a what's it going to do the earnings as a final look at stocks in general loan they seem pretty cheap to me we have ten year notes under or one thirty yeah the old witch if you convert it into a P. is over seventy five a new home the stock market trading at seventeen nineteen times earnings so in in the context of such long term interest rates stocks seem to me a veritable bargain and in fact more than two thirds of stocks traded higher yield than the ten year note yep Seoul you can earn the same as the ten year note and hopefully get the appreciation that that you would expect to get in stocks so I think there are actually a pretty good value here I wouldn't disagree as a matter of fact I read a note just this week suggesting that wins the capitulation that we've seen in the equity market this week stocks are finally back to what our fair value model suggests they should trade at in terms of valuation multiples the question going forward is well where will those earnings go because when you sign a seventeen handle on S. and P. five hundred P. E. you're suggesting that okay we're paying for future earnings growth that is certain if that earnings number comes down suddenly that P. E. looks a little more expensive and that's that's the situation we're in right now is sort of grappling with yes valuations right now look cheap but we don't know where the denominator of the ratio is headed and until we get a little bit more certainty with respect to where that denominator is headed OR we get more support from policymakers suggesting there will be some fire power supporting the financial markets stocks are likely to waffle around but it does raise the question of the verse the UCL pretty quickly because isn't V. then that's pretty good bargains if it's not maybe that's what it got such a good bargain yeah and what we're finding is increasingly analysts are starting to price in more of a you hopefully not an L. we haven't seen that occur yeah and that's certainly not our forecast the macro indicators that we follow it suggests S. and P. five hundred five hundred earnings are likely to grow two percent this year that's a decline of decline in Q. one followed by a modest bounce back through the rest of the year finishing the year and more normalized condition it's a macro model so doesn't fully capture all the nuances of every company in the S. and P. five hundred nonetheless it does sort of fed with the analyst decrease in estimates that we're seeing across the board what we've seen over the last month as analysts expectations for Q. one fall really quickly but now they're starting to take out expectations for Q. two and a little bit of three of the third quarter as well and I think that forms more of a U. shaped recovery which is frankly a little bit more realistic considering we just don't know how far this is going to spread you wrestling crime which is a federal service so markets have loved Federer's serve using there's a Powell put as many like talk about it and so I think the question is at what point does the fed step in and supports the markets to support the economy but let's say the fed does come in an easy at the next meeting March means they don't do it and I mean he's a March meeting do you think markets are going to get much relief from that or are they concerned about the bigger picture given how much uncertainty there is just simply about the current affairs and how it might spread you know I mean I really love the words this time is different because I don't think that kind of stuff and AC you have to err on the side of history right and every time the fed has started an easing cycle the stock market has reacted sure so you have to acknowledge that even though the fed is usually easing in times of great uncertainty when we don't know where the economic environment is going to go and we're really skeptical as to whether that policy has any efficacy in creating economic growth going forward the market always reacts the reason the market always restless back to valuations the way the fed implement the way the fed actually impacts the equity market is through real interest rates and it's through the peen multiple less so than through earnings growth yes eventually you're hopefully going to see some pick up investment business investment some pick up in earnings growth that follows along with you know the anticipation that comes after the fed starts to reduce the policy rate but the initial reaction the equity market is all about the multiple it's all about the fact that rates are now lower and perceived to be going lower which elevates multiples in the the willingness of investors to take on a little bit of research excellence to Jim Tisch Michelle Meier and of course Jim Martin Adams a Bloomberg intelligence we'll be back with our contributors had the Bloomberg dot com for more exclusive spots where we can contributors along with full episodes on the official Bloomberg Wall Street week podcast.
