A highlight from God's Plan for World Evangelism (part 2)
"Mark 16 if you will, please mark chapter 16 Now, you know, we have preached the first part of this message. And of course I was away last weekend and so We're going to bring you part two This morning by God's grace. And of course, the main thought is God's plan for world evangelization God's plan some for some of you You've been involved in faith promise for a number of years But let just let me warn you about something we get sometimes really familiar with something We need to say well, I know all about that well, maybe there's something the Holy Spirit might say to you and So just be open to what God would have you to do. Okay, but we know God's plan And that brings me to the question that I asked when we started for the first part Why in the world is your church here Was it here is it a beautiful building beautiful property? We have people slow down and Even have people come in and take pictures of your church I haven't seen the one in a while, but there have been people over the years and one lady I'll never forget. She said I don't think in course where it's located and here on the highway I don't know whether she was local or traveling through but she said this is one beautiful property right here And she's walked around taking pictures of the church and I thought maybe we might make whatever but anyway We thank God for our church. But why is it here? Why is this building? Why is the property here? Why? Why this? It's here because of God's direction I Don't know any simpler way to say it and 1973 me and my wife and two children moved to Warrenton March 13th and God has blessed we've had a high attendance here of 636 we had people sitting on the platform. I wish you still like that today But I'm still doing the right thing. Our church is still doing the right thing. Oh, yeah, we took a lick from COVID There's no doubt about that but We keep trying Occupy till I come the Lord tells us and so that's what we're going to do By the grace of God and then that's why we are here now Every Christian should be thoroughly familiar with the great missionary command that runs through the Old and New Testaments for that matter command that clearly outlines God's plan for world Evangelization Basing our story on this passage of Scripture and I'm only using one using one verse this morning and Mark 16 15 and he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel To every creature. It's important to notice that these words are spoken by the Lord himself He's given this a great command to us this Commission you might call it for the glory of God and to and his parting command Command to his followers was go to all the world it related to the present dispensation of grace of which you and I are living right now and it's of course Just as binding now as it was the day he gave it Great Commission and if you lose sight of that matter of fact, let me use another word I think he used last time but burden burden vision Desire to see people come to know the Lord Here at home and around the world for that matter So we need the vision for all the world every creature So our Lord's command every creature a Christian is to engage in a program and let me say it again of worldwide evangelization We've already given to you For things that we would was of course a part of God's plan and number one the plan for preaching the gospel of course is to every creature every creature and their soul saved through the ministry of your church and through this program of faith promise Giving around the world because we wouldn't be able to do that.

Former top aide to Maryland governor dead after manhunt
"A former top aide to a Maryland governor is dead after an FBI manhunt. Roy McGrath was at one time the chief of staff for former Maryland governor Larry Hogan. He became the subject of a three week manhunt when the Florida resident failed to show up for trial in Baltimore on corruption charges on March 13th. Attorneys for his family confirmed that McGrath died Monday after a confrontation with FBI agents in a commercial area on the outskirts of Knoxville, Tennessee. An FBI email said McGrath was wounded during an agent involved shooting and taken to a hospital. He resigned in 2020 to 11 weeks into his job for Hogan and pled not guilty to an indictment in 2021. He was accused of lying about the governor's approval for a severance payment of over $230,000, as the head of Maryland's environmental service. In addition to allegedly embezzling roughly a $170,000 in expenses. Hogan said he and his wife were deeply saddened by this tragic situation. I'm Jennifer King

"That population could get adequate. Healthcare, of course that was not necessarily what the academy thought. So could you explain that battle? Yeah. You know, a good example is when Paul and his colleagues were working in Peru. On MDR TB. And the slums around Lima. And they had a strategy for treating multi drug resistant tuberculosis. And the World Health Organization was not in line with this plan. They basically thought it was too cost ineffective, too difficult to be able to do this. And the focus was just on containment. This is in the 90s. And Paul and his colleagues pushed really, really hard against this. To insist that not only was this possible to effectively treat MDR TB, but it was an absolute public health necessity. There's no possibility of containment of an epidemic of this kind. You have to treat. And this attempted disillusion of the arbitrary distinction between treatment and prevention was something that was very important for them in that context and became very important in the same period for HIV around the world that treatment is prevention. And this became evident at least to an international audience by the mid 2000s, but the 90s was not dogma by any means at that point. And that was a point where Paul's insistence that the poor deserve poor people, people who are deprived of resources deserve best quality care, regardless of their income or capacity to pay for it, met a lot of resistance. It wasn't popular at that time. And then eventually through demonstrating remarkable success in public health terms, quantitative terms, Paul was able to with his colleagues win over World Health Organization. And produced a new paradigm. Those came out of his dots plus. And this became standard of care around the world. And then they applied it again in Siberia around the post Soviet MDR TB epidemic that spread through Russian prisons, for example. So Paul would embrace conflict when he had to. Paul was not a conflict oriented type of person. His interpersonal relationships. He was almost conflict averse to a fault. What he saw in pretty much everyone that he worked with was their potential. And he really, really believed in their potential to do extraordinary things to advance his goal of health equity in the world. And preparing the harm that has been done in our world. And he brought people along with that. People that you would not necessarily expect to be persuadable by Paul's positions. And he didn't do that by giving them infections and inequalities and pathologies of power, but his books, but by investing in his relationships with people. involving coming into Ukraine and it obviously the human aspect of that We can not even compare that with sports but we are the business of sports and there are a lot of things a lot of sports issues that came out of that One involved a very rich man Yeah you're talking about Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich who is selling the Chelsea football club It's interesting because he was previously looking to transfer the stewardship and care of the club to members of his charitable foundation and it's not clear how that was going to happen He had not mentioned anything about giving up ownership But now that's changed And of course the backdrop to all this is the UK has proposed these new laws that would target wealthy Russians which would include a wrong which and some of these laws might include freezing their assets So now he's announced that he's going to sell the club outright and saying it's a painful and personal sacrifice He specifically saying he's not asking for any loans to be repaid We know he's invested about $2 billion of his personal fortune in the club over 20 years And he's doing it with a very urgent timeline Lynch it feels like he needed to get the sun yesterday Well of course because I thought that we mentioned earlier that they may freeze the assets especially in the United Kingdom The good news out of this is that the proceeds from the sale that Chelsea football club are going to be used to help de aid the victims of Ukraine those who are injured those who are ill and those who are just scrambling out of the country finding a place to live Now with the soccer story the paralympics they have said that Russia and Belarus you can not play in the games is a reversal from what they said earlier but then so many other athletes said you know what If they're in I'm out I'm sure nobody's happy that these athletes now you know it's not the greatest decision in the world But for what the games are saying this is best for the Paralympic games I think you nailed it Nobody's happy with any of this Ordinary Russians Russian athletes are being punished and they're not the ones who are directing what's happening when it comes to Ukraine So it's unfortunate for everyone involved But there's this sense in the U.S. and Europe that we have to use soft power to get Putin to understand what's happening here This old precipitated by the curlers from Latvia who refused to compete against Russia And the people who run the paralympics were really surprised about this So they're expelling the athletes There are 71 of them from Russia and it does them from Belarus who have been expelled from the games otherwise there'd be no games I don't nobody want to compete And again athletes that are trained for years and years and years to get over to Beijing They're going now through March 13th but they're going to proceed from this point forward without Russian and Belarus para athletes I also want to mention other sports that are cutting ties or suspending their relationships with Russian business partners And I bring up hockey because obviously I'm a hockey fan but 5% of the NHL's players are Russian So this is kind of a big deal for the NHL to suspend its relationships there pausing Russian language social and digital media sites Really putting aside any consideration of Russia as a location for any future NHL competition you wonder what kind of pressure this puts on the players and I'm thinking of Alex Ovechkin of the Washington capitals for instance who has posted with Putin on his Instagram account or our temi panarin who had to take a leave of absence from the rangers for a while because he had criticized Putin in the past and there were threats made against him The players are really in the crosshairs right now There was talk at some point about revoking visas of Russian hockey players at the National Hockey League I don't think that's going to happen I don't think it's for the greater good of the league But to be a Russian dissident is a very difficult position to be in We've seen it over the years And it's very very hard for these hockey players I think to take it political stance There is another story Tiger Woods He didn't play a single official PGA Tour event last year but the golf organization still designated him as the face of the sport Tiger Woods he won an $8 million PGA prize Just for being Tiger Phil Mickelson came in second $6 million And then Phil Mickelson he tweeted out hey thank you all for giving me the top prize and then Tiger responded back Whoops You know it says something that Tiger Woods is still the face of golf It's called the player impact program and they measured a bunch of different things None of which involved like you said actually what happened on the green The metrics The downside is we do have another sign that inflation is coming in a little hot the producer Price Index as opposed to the consumer price Index. Yesterday. And I pulled up the old press release on that. And it mentioned how that that program was going to run through March 13th of this year, But I guess what they re upped it, and there's no sign of it. Stopping No sign of it stopping effect. Murphy was asked the other day in a press conference by a journalist. Whether or not it was gonna be discontinued, he said. No. The other thing he said no to was whether or not the department labor was going to start verifying. People were in fact looking for work in order qualify for unemployment, and he said No, and this is particularly acute here in New Jersey with a small business economy with all of our main streets, all those mom and pop shops Now, with all the businesses along the boardwalk along the Jersey Shore, gearing up for the summer. We can't get people to come back to work. So move. We should try to answer this question. How is it? New Jersey has the highest unemployment rate in the nation above 8%. And yet, everywhere you go. Employers can't find employees and there's a help wanted sign that, too. Don't equate. But Phil Murphy is once again out of touch with Main.

Robbery crew wreaks havoc on New York City streets
"Looking for a group of armed robbers who have been terrorizing the upper West side over the last few weeks. In one incident on March 13th, the group of at least three individuals Following a 13 year old boy into the lobby of a residential building on West 77th Street near Amsterdam Avenue before pushing him to the ground and taking his baseball cap. A second incident occurring on March 17th inside Central Park near West 79th Street, where two men were robbed at knife point, with the suspects taking the Citi bikes the victims were riding And on March 30th. It's alleged the group displaying a gun and stealing cell phones from a 14 year old and a 15 year old on Riverside Drive near West 78th Street. And a day later, they allegedly threatened to stab a 27 year old man on West 69th Street near Central Park West before forcibly taking his cell phone and wallet, police releasing surveillance photos of the suspects and ask anyone with information to contact them. So I was on that path where it's like, okay, I'm going to go be a personal injury lawyer. Fenders found I like to do a ton of stuff. And yeah now at this day and age people can do a ton of stuff. But I mean, they're still you know, tons of friends who are going to their one thing do their one thing. I guess. We just we have like more options now people can I don't know do weird weird things like yeah. I'm like, I'm kind of like that cuz I've been a musician a comedian an announcer an actor, you know a writer, you know, so I changes to I just I I thought was interesting hear you say that I felt like I had the freedom to do all of that as opposed to I feel like our sort of a set. It's almost like you don't have the freedom. You have a lot of freedom, but there there isn't the choice so much as there was before of like a fallback or you know, that sort of feeling of birth. Melody the feeling that there's something always stable that I can go do yeah feels that way anymore. It feels like the grounds always shifting. Yeah, and you gotta be good at a lot of things and have a lot of options package and the most important question I have to ask Justin right now is indica or sativa. Oh indica and always always looking to relax kind of a guy sativa gets me too too wound up. That's why you drink a few beers first. I'm trying to become less of a drinker. If you're thinking of heading east for baseball fix during the pandemic, Kcrw's Darryl Sanson has some tips about what to expect.
