"Very much parts are let's head over the five Farmington road top Pletcher is gonna win at Belmont at a mile and a half this is a one turn mile an eighth a lot of people think very very highly of the five he's going to be coming from way out of it at fifteen one hour before an entry level allowance race he's only broken is made in Israel releases this winter you space all sorts of different circumstances he closed into a fast pace he tried to call into a slow pace and then last time in the Arkansas derby try to keep in closer maybe flattened out a bit you know the freeway seven comment he lost them all he doesn't win he's a deep closer here's how would be the other alternative for people I think you need to like him we like Max player I don't think you can like both the secure trust these people closer I don't like him to walk I don't like him later on today are you mentioned four left earlier you think he's going to be challenging tap it to weigh in on the front and thirty to one of the more in line for Doug o'neill I wouldn't be stunned if he cleared and Johnny what I'm clear and Johnny tried to take off the pace with capital went back working strongly because by the time the five major crimes this guy's gonna be looking around looking at how you get the cameras were table so source I really hope he doesn't want to walk in here and and and get not anybody's way namely topic to Windsor I like when these races are run cleanly and I you know he's just paste the look at me I don't like little all right number seven jungle runner fifty to one on the morning line Steve Asmussen your buddy ray Loogootee heiress aboard yeah we will share the stage with us that they're going to be back in twenty nineteen we have a nice night that night I'll be ones were for Rory will be looks completely overmatched in west Campylobacter justice not baseball best of luck with the resolution of the lot I've had a lot of success in this race as well one of our career back in two thousand sixteen we gave them out that source look up fast all right how about the eighth is the lawyer six the five morning line favorite early money all over as well Markley tag Manny Franco eight eight deserve it yeah you know I deserve it even money favorite this morning at three he's going to be shorter than that I think he's the goods I am very as a gambler knows of one form of the Afenifere we also understand for five years on that was damaged by but was sent you want to see the best of the best meet up and let him settle on a racetrack I was looking forward to seeing the balance all of them in Max field take on because the law for two reasons I want to do the best for stress to selfishly I want ten dollars under the law because I do you repeat those words like a drum if I think you're gonna be close or something well I think you're going to get these horses I think some okay it's a carnation I thank you see on the travelers I thank you I think there's a good chance source for the triple crown but like I said he's got somebody in Barclay tag that knows how to keep our resource happy and healthy funny cide wonder derby in twenty thirteen he won a race every year from twenty twelve to twenty seventy Walkley Mozambique you for shopping and healthy I think you can go to for quite a long today many cycles and it's almost I'm hot I'm happy for merry merry cycle one of the best lawyers in this country and people are sad to see if that was one of three separate last year sharing how did you get to the bottom of stakes win today lifted the wall from just off the pace I think he's a stone cold since the one hundred and fifty second Belmont Stakes Moses with you right here on the fan on the Saudi terminate the beast to be breaking down the Belmont Stakes tell my one fifty two later on this afternoon coming away five forty two posed at the does a great job naira into horse racing radio network a lot of people like doctor posted five to one on the morning line top pleasure around were tease what's your thoughts on on this three year old your available or step brings us some value in this race I don't like this was for a penny later on today I think you're gonna have some different publications I don't like will be defeated in the first couple wins I know he's got Todd Pletcher he's got a router to use corner that's only going to help bring down the price I don't like this was I think the source now is what was it was all about earlier seven phones a model I think this was going to be very very useful I think those those middle distance for him is going to be his Cup of tea when all said and done I I just I don't like to be here today and I think he's got a chance to be the second or third choice so again try and turn some lemons into lemonade by taking a three to five or four or five shots and making some money in the gimmicks by getting award like topples out of them all you know one horse I like that I I think and help out those exotics and that's the final horse in this race and that's the ten pneumatic Assamese cities go rider Ricardo Santana was not get any sort of love in the early wagering as well eight to one on the morning line making a backup exactly with them so much to play them here but you don't play you don't gain towards actor and make them exactly I'm gonna say this you know all the famous people don't follow the sport don't really get this if you don't help me right now Eric gay no shot was when I had a crystal ball here you're not winning the Belmont Stakes later on today I tell you this is the worst that beats up now I'm making a bigger exactly what modernist because I think the dynamics of the lakes play more income modernist being able to get a bigger piece the path this forces questionable modernist I think this was may even be a little more counters and modern this the problem is you're gonna be moving what does the law and he has a novel approach to seriously challenge the law the problem is when you face always does better than you would you take your swing more often than not you're susceptible on the only I would not be surprised if this source continued off I think this was gonna be good as first generations off the pace winning the war after that they asked him to go to the lead in his first start around two turns last time I think that was a very tough fashion just birds out of this area he goes back to the one time you got the outside draw and he's supposed to get his trip the trip that was needed last time because of the grout draw real trip that this force one to six do you get that later on today I just think there's a lot better than them but he's definitely a big player in the in the low slot here from my job so you're going eight for eight ten all right two quickies before let you go into the appreciate the time here number one is all the three horses that we mentioned so overall I'm Dave tap it to weigh in doctor post one of those three horses which one of those three would surprise you the most of you want today what surprised me the most Dr post because we had the least amount of speed and I think he probably has the most distance limitations of those brave the wind gets loose and just keeps on growing or selling a lot because of the.

"Addition is we're previewing the hundred fifty second running of the Belmont stakes at a mile eight not a mile and a half better to do it and a friend of mine body of the show that is after these to be the big a naira you see my talking horses with sterling every single day also horse racing radio network check him out there very very popular on the naira circuit in very very good at betting Belmont day as well what's going on at the good afternoon how are we doing good mood happy Belmont day a little bit of a different day but Hey shire curable Beaumont park the one hundred and fifty second Belmont Stakes nobody saying well all the triple crown intractable be the latest about my government on the first one was run on June nineteenth and also be the first time as well so we go to summer five forty four this will be the first time the Belmont abroad in the summer well there you go very nice all right so a little bit of history today as well and if the father obviously I'll a lot of history along with those states with it being at a mile east instead of about a half did not really know whether choice here given the fact of of everything we've gone through with the the corona virus and the pandemic yes both of our president and CEO Dave o'rourke for our age are invited guests will both morning and this afternoon you know and they've basically said you know they had no other choice I mean what are you going to do harm well they were so much uncertainty in the world right we have a handful of racetracks that we're continuing to run but the truth of the matter is we didn't know when the pickle preparations were gonna be wrong the W. B. postponed the prepay if they kind of took their time over tronic reported decided on basically four weeks a month after the Kentucky Derby resource you haven't gone amount of core I'm gonna mild three sixty and I don't think a lot of them were prepared in a traditional manner because of the uncertainty we did know when these races and the preparations for the first we're going to be one I think it was only fair to the horsemen and women to the owners and most importantly mark to the horses to run this race apart for all you know it the we've had a lot of conversations about the Triple Crown you're not you're never a believer that the Triple Crown is the savior for thoroughbred racing what do you make of the Triple Crown this year all right I can also to be tougher to win the Triple Crown this year there has been your staff so I'm gonna say this and that's one reason it's a hundred and five days this year between the races now you said you thought well that gives time it also gives you time for a lot of bad things that happen when should we get he won his only Kentucky Derby dot org back in twenty thirteen it is always there from the day brokers waited till they won the Kentucky Derby yes five perfect moms in order to have five perfect months in any sport let alone wash racing where these horses can do a plethora of things to themselves overnight low on what happens on the racetrack and when they're training every day so five perfect mom and you know what there you go you need to have about three perfect months now the time you've had to run up to the derby now yesterday it was announced the problem you have you moved this year it's gonna be one on August eighth that seven weeks from the Belmont it's four weeks from the Kentucky Derby so I would think a lot of horses especially because the law to get the money later on today will gold Travers in seven weeks Darby eleven weeks but again there's a lot of time between now and the drivers you have to do to make sure you keep the source happy and more importantly healthy so I think it could in fact be a little bit tougher and I think you're a lot more likely to face different falls in all three races because these races take on a different kind of meaning now the Belmont the first leg of the Triple Crown okay your dirty the dirty you're gonna get the best four year old in the garbage the printer's becomes a very strange race because it's a beautiful product for the three year old I want to try the breeders Cup classic it's an American classic it's about a mile and three sixteenths so I think there's a good chance what's that you got the three races I wouldn't be surprised if in the three races you got ten tomorrow you'll have close to twenty in the derby another time I won't be surprised if thirty different horses ran in the sprint race this year that's a big number that is a big number you're right about that's gonna be interesting everything obviously we all have to adjust to a little bit of the new normal you know AT this field to ten that's going to go post were later on this afternoon at five forty two when they open up the gates of Belmont Park no crowd no fans in attendance how good is this field attend a very interesting field I don't know how good the resources all right yeah I think you have some potential again we say this every year about the derby over the phone or whatever it is I think there's some horses in here that probably don't belong doesn't make them bad horses just kind of out of their element throughout western was supposed to run earlier on the court today in the woods returns he's.

"A good Saturday afternoon to one at all special Saturday afternoon edition mark loses with you Tommy Luke our my producer back at the shop at three forty five huts in the herd Erika her squid she's got your updates as we take it for the next two hours right up until six o'clock tonight and as Erica was mentioned during her top of the hour update yes for the first time in Triple Crown history it's the Belmont Stakes that's gonna lead the way this afternoon in the Triple Crown series and usually it's three races in five weeks right first Saturday in may be in the Kentucky Derby two weeks later be in the Preakness and just a little bit shorter than a mile and a quarter and then the two true test of a champion at the big sandy which is customarily at a mile and a half three weeks after the Preakness Stakes three races five weeks to crown the Triple Crown winners and we know of recent memory Bob Baffert has had a lot of success here in the Triple Crown American Pharoah justify a couple years ago B. in the last two Triple Crown winners after the chasm that we had of of really get close close forces are real quiet amongst those silver charm they came to Belmont unfortunately failed this year we all get used to a little bit of a a new normal do we not and we're going through it now but what the Belmont represents it is a New York event even though fans are not in attendance at Belmont Park today in Elmont Long Island it's a beautiful sun shiny day post time is five forty two will take your right up until post we've got a great show on tap for you mark Cassie the trainer the second choice tap it to win it ninety two right now after getting some money early on he's gonna join us during the course of the next two hours after these to be from the horse racing radio network naira will run through the field of ten for the Belmont as well Dick Girardi will join me I think moms all hop on as well do a podcast with them horse racing podcast that we put out pretty much every couple weeks he's gonna pop on to give us a selection plenty of your calls as well at eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six it's a little bit different there's no question about it but it's a New York event and as we are clamoring for sports to return as baseball goes through what baseball infuriatingly is gone through as we wait for July thirtieth when the NBA's gonna return in their one site bubble down there Disney world in Orlando as we wait for NHL training camps we hope to open up July the tent days we see MLB spring training facilities close for a deep cleaning and that just yet another issue as we still go through this pandemic one thing you know it does ring true today the Belmont is a New York event and horse racing does grab center stage and I think the reason why it does is because there's honestly nothing else going on aside from golf the other thing is is that I I think people do have respect here for the Triple Crown even though it's not gonna be three races in five weeks you're gonna have the Belmont today in early September you have the derby in early October you're gonna have the Preakness I think it's a hundred and fifty days Saratoga not renounce that the Travers stakes will be seven weeks from today and I think the the owners of of tis the law the even money favorite as we speak right now second toga stables very very familiar the triple crown you know those that is soaks the the gutsy gelding a funny side who won the first two jewels of the Triple Crown only to be undone by Judd months empire maker Bobby Frankel in a sloppy tracking number years ago but we're familiar with the second token stables and they have a very very talented three year old this afternoon into is the law now I've always been a huge Triple Crown fan and I'm not going to tell you that the Triple Crown has to save the sport of thoroughbred racing I'm not also not gonna tell you that I think that this year it's going to be even more difficult than years gone by because I think it truly test the horse the stamina the brilliance the ability to be consistent to have three successive runs over the course of five weeks now the difference here is every race could look conceivably different if this is the law who is the overwhelming favorite this afternoon should win the Belmont Stakes who knows of the other nine that are gonna be lining up on the first you know Saturday in September for the Kentucky Derby who knows exactly what is the law was successful in the Kentucky Derby who exactly knows who's going to face him in the Preakness so it would be a different challenge B. as in normal years what have happened as the Triple Crown give a field of twenty for the derby a pretty large field for the Preakness and more often than not that field and those should and and those horses start to get whittled down as we get to the Belmont Stakes because there's really nothing aside from winning the Triple Crown that helps the value of a three year old in winning a mile and a half race and that's really what this is all about we love it for the sport I love for the sport I grew up around thoroughbred racing go on the track of my dad and my uncle when I was really young having gone to Saratoga pretty much every year of my life and I don't know if I'll be up there this year obviously and if fans will be in attendance up there in beautiful Saratoga springs but having gone to Triple Crown races the derby the Preakness the Belmont year after year covering it for S. and why going there as a fan you know I have a healthy respect for what the Triple Crown days and I look at the sport as a fan I don't have any stake I don't own any horses but when you hear those talk about the quality of the thoroughbred racehorse what they're looking at at the end is there look at the breeding set and so in normal years what you have at the mile and a half Belmont Stakes is you have horses that if there's no triple crown on the line Porsches are gonna push surpassed the Belmont to move we'll look at the Travers are other stakes races they maybe get them ready for the fall schedule and leading up to the breeders Cup wherever that site might be this year's conceivably and totally different instead of a mile and a half and the Belmont is and you know al mondo Belmont park has the largest oval in North America they're gonna be running a mile on eighth one turn around big sandy which is distinctly different Amala lays around one turn there's no other track in North America no other track in North America I can run a mile in a three zero one turn aside from.

"Supply house dot com fan highway patrol the Bronx is just getting slammed tonight cross runs from rose eleven you aim to the George Washington bridge a big travel night tonight busy travel night Brooklyn and queens expect to lays on the belt parkway from the Verrazano and especially around the airport L. ET Grand Central you're slow for the B. Q. we into the nass online fan wiki is a mass in the cross island is only slightly better more on the island southern state accident cleared from the seafood always by expressway but it's pretty much stop and go on all three roadways L. I eat northern state and the southern state and this report sponsored by air Italy think big with air Italy book by January ninth discover it only on sale discounts of up to twenty five percent Italy a match in the world differently I'm Judy dealt with the supply house dot com Dan highway patrol forty six looses review right here on the fed to get right up until six John sterling will come your way that and now let's head out to Jersey city it's Ron it's the fat what's going on around me don't go almost I'm doing all right were you all right model for anybody touched on this but I think the reason why a gentleman she defied also because of you look at that last year's draft pick he told them six Daniel Jones when they had Josh Allen sitting right there one a pass rusher who they desperately need and they could have got Jones either seventeen or thirty but there was nobody was going to pick him nobody and one on the way he was talking about that he said there was other teams that were looking at him and that's why they took him six and I don't believe that yeah well I I do know that the forty nine day Denver Broncos like them they trade out the number ten pick in the Washington Redskins there was a split within the organization the football people wanted them to take Daniel Jones and then they'll start or want to them to take Haskins come out of Ohio state so but the the football guys down in Washington did like Daniel Jones more than Wayne Askins and and they were so he don't think Josh our would have been a big as sick of now that we beat the Redskins last week we fall back either the second spot so now we're not even going to be when are you going to get change young if we had the chance to get you going to be gone I understand he's going to be gone and and and all I could if he declares for the NFL draft will be the number two overall pick and that's gonna staying I get it I understand it but in that game your quarterback threw for three hundred fifty two yards and five touchdowns I understand that I'm Jonah back isn't Jones more important then Josh Alan he is but if you look at the act is that they're being spent on I agree to the I don't disagree the but if you look at this past offseason there's a life was a did anyone ever think that's a Darius Smith at the time people like them in the former Baltimore raven but I did people think that he was gonna have the impact he's had this year for the Green Bay Packers now when he signed and look at what he's done for my tended that defense and they signed their Preston Smith from the Washington Redskins on the outside as well they brought into outside linebackers both guys were signed as free agents it was a Darius left Baltimore prestin laughed the Washington Redskins and more specifically because he's been more impactful but look what's it area Smith is done for the Green Bay Packers this year that defense yeah you're right but we could add island in the draft where we didn't have to spend that money on free agency because it's going to cost a lot to get a good pass rush right it is in the child's gonna money to spend Ron and and I I understand and you get caught up here's where you want to knock of your not come that he may be could have got a little bit more creative and got both players yeah you can active government for that but if you really believe that Joe olds live and you have an old quarterback in the ally manning and as an organization you made the determination you love watching at the senior bowl you love talking to cut cliff down to do give familiarity with Cutcliffe uses relationship with the bad eggs that he lied pate and if you really determined as a franchise that he is indeed the guy that he has to be the pick he asked me to pick because it's the most important position the National Football League you've got no other way to go you don't reach for the quarterback but if you made that determination that he's the guy that that's the pick that you make I'm not saying it's easy to find addresses it's not but how many times you see teams based on quarterbacks you see miss on a dressers too but historically speaking the translation or the transition from quarterback in college the National Football League is a difficult one for talent evaluators to pinpoint a nail down in terms of what translates and what doesn't is there been numerous basis dilated dean can mess it's got to be a star a decade already all pro pro bowler future hall of Famer and the guy comes in as verbally can't play so I look at what government did I don't have an issue with it now there's no doubt if your child fan so where's the defense I grew up as a judge I you know I did I grew up in a giant household my everyone my dad my sister's everybody's die fans is that I know I grew up I went against the grain without one I grew up on a ranger Nick Yankee fan and I will grow because of one player John Regan's number forty four I girlfriends get fat but I did go to a lot of charity games grown up at you know I Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands and when I thought about the giants I thought about the fence right you think about linebackers he'll call banks is the one the semi finals for the whole family they might call bank sorry Carson George Martin Lawrence Taylor care reasons that head on Bobbi Humphrey it in Denver against the Broncos hearing about that that defense of lodging birds Leonard Marshall in my defense about the giants win the Superbowl seven what do they may they about defense see when your Michael Strahan Justin tuck tuck easily could be the MVP of the game seven in two thousand but specifically seven because just as I discussed earlier in the show about Terrell Owens being the best player on the field I thought talking seven Glendale Arizona does best player on the field thought about defense I look at this giant team now was the defense where's the guys get after it they can be defense difference makers I remember watching di redskin games where they would triple team now you're you're not gonna find Lawrence Taylor on sale is the greatest offensive players what's overseen find that guy but I remember is gyrate skin games in here Madden on CBS with this summer all go down in the old RFK that dumb it was a great dumb but it was a dump nonetheless right stadium rock in chanted hello Redskins Gary Clark we could be catches the light bar remember them going over and how the you know they'd have hall of Famers along that often so what Joe Jacobi after triple team to give Jacoby some help all I guess Lawrence Taylor good great defensive players where those guys now that's where you got to go out there get hello in the NFL nowadays always talk about the office office often stroll the football give me a little bit of defense Clifton park we go it's Mike it's about what's going on my I had to go and pay no Mike but still yeah the quick Jains and Nick New York NYC point get on the line I think he's he's had enough and he should definitely stay the coaching staff has to go though and the next you know you know I think the key for their play here a leaflet players to get better is they need a point guard in the worst way I mean we see like little flashes of something from from the point and get all excited about it but we have not had a point guard in such a long time and they were really really neat that piece and plus mills has has has to go but anyway thanks mousse happy holidays yeah you got Mike happy holidays yeah I I don't disagree with you about the guard plays with excellent specifically the point guard play it's kind of it's got improve you look around the National Football around the NBA you need guys to be able run the point guard play raid supreme be able shoot the ball from the outside that's the big concern I have about RJ Barrett and ability to hit free throws and is also an inconsistency with his jump shot it wasn't consistent at Duke you showed it to be as original rookie year that's something that's got fob and get better over the course of his NBA career let's say that someone had it's Charlie what's going on Charlie how are you I don't Charlie are you know I'm driving so I'm hearing everybody talking about the giants then I just want to say a couple things number one yeah by manning is probably especially last year was probably number five or six on the things that the giants needed to address in order to improve that roster every quarterback and strengths and weaknesses but he was definitely good enough to carry a winning team into the playoffs if you look at the stats last year you see that Tom Brady and Eli manning had almost identically a statistically identical season they had the same completion percentage the same number of yards the same yards per attempt I'm sorry thing yards per completion all right the only difference was you I would fax forty seven times Brady was sacked twenty one and I think Brady had about eight four TD passes no one around gave for doing what exactly no I mean I know you understand I mean if you had given if you have switched quarterbacks is a good chance that we would have made the playoffs with the life and the giants would not have made the playoffs with Brady now the other point I want to make it about Gelman everybody's talking about Daniel Jones and sick one Barkley I think the giants really like Daniel Jones even before the Barclay draft I think they had their eye on him I think they liked his site is late they like to the accuracy is ability to go through one two three reads his ability to pass accurately not just on stage he was the total package I don't think there was sold on rose and I knew they were installed and Haskins okay I don't think they were sold on Baker Mayfield either and I think the proof is in the pudding and what we're seeing now and I think they got Barkley and they got Jones and they also yeah the pass on Josh Allen Josh shown is eleven sacks Marcus golden who get him inside has eleven faqs he's probably gonna finish with more and he's got forty more tackles been Josh out so I think people should really start to look instead of just reading the headlines in doing the hot takes on Twitter I think government should come back yes I think he deserves a chance to I think surely should come back absolutely not not sure where we're in agreement there yeah I said before I I I I again we will come back my UE I've even got into the the more the chime finished caught up with Josh Alan but I think it will come back and I think Pat Shurmur on Monday we'll find out that the giants looking in another direction as head coach.

"But I about the average you're going the hall of fame following it devotes with which is great but what sets me is and I noticed that the world revolves around me I grew up the Yankees **** Jackie to the seventies and a couple of weeks with them a month it was put in about the hall of fame he got tonight and I think this is the second time around that this happened I don't know what it takes for a great player like himself who sorry that happening in the in the whole thing and my question to you is why can't the fans vote for a player like him so begin the hall of fame I was reading up and have a good day Dennis yeah you know listen the fans you're looking at a place like that you want to say you want to hold it up to a percentage of the fans played a part in the voting process but at some point I mean because then favoritism comes into play right right you want to raise fares balance the you know the whole fame is supposed to be for the cream of the crop of a cream of the crop the leader of the elite right now it's been watered down over the years I don't know if I necessarily believe the fans the the point be apart at voting process now you're doing multiple organ of all the same I use close yeah these clothes hi I'm all I'm really of the kind of believe that if there needs to be fifteen twenty minute debate about a guy that they're not really all fame if I had to sit down and argue you know when you when you when you watch so regardless of sport hockey bass right all right football baseball you watch enough if you know when you're watching a guy whether or not he's all the fame or not to breeze all fame Tom Brady's a hall of Famer Rogers is a hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor Barry said you go up and down one hall of fame role favorite you've watched enough right that's why you get to Cole Porter like Eli manning if you're sitting there debating about the library I was I put him in but I can understand those a look at the I. manning and say you know what no he wasn't good enough for the regular season it was a great enough quarterback he had to epic runs but that doesn't necessarily mean the augmented soul favor you have his name in the giant ring of honor and I can understand that correct so I mean I look at Thurman Munson I think it's close I I think he's close it would not you know bill monstrosities in their Thurman Munson deserves his day wearing guys they've been they've gotten in our brains so I get it I understand it well it's a shame when I would Mattingly and the injury and the back and everything like that because Mattingly was well on his way the V. it out at all frame rate me was my that was my hero growing up as a Yankee fan love Ricky to oval swagger from Ricky when feel Jack Clark those are those are fun Yankee days for the most part they once of caves rose trees in the picture but anyway I digress yeah I think I think when you look at Thurman I think you can easily make the argument that he deserves a a bit in there but I also think it it's something to be debated but I think with the way the whole thing's been watered down if it wasn watered down then I would probably tell you that I don't think there must all fame but the way that is now yeah I think he's really close Albert Aberdeen New Jersey it's salads the fat what's going on south remove the old one so I'm cool you a local board sal you do but good good I had just got out of the shower there you go very nice yeah hopefully a nice while warm shower for yourself wake up on a Thursday afternoon there you go not clean as a whistle what's on your mind body all what with the mess where they got out of the dances I am hoping that the as was just you know first year in the big city and hopefully he can turn around you think that's a possibility with him yeah I think it's a possibility and with which is what you say about the whole thing why I agree totally with you also it if I got to think twice about somebody did the novel I mean brain because of the water it down painters and that's Ross you then look those guys really are not the whole fame is in my estimation I mean even out in that span and David right to me is I love the seeing in the hall of fame but not anymore now no no it's not a green insulted it just is not as one last thing though of what what ray was talking about all the way up that's basically being on top and enjoying being on top that's what that's all about no he's not some conflicting and Rosenberg across the way can give us a little clarity here bees sows now the fourth corner there's broad operate from the Brady called earlier in the show excuse my voice here for second me for my throat as I mentioned earlier to make who could care less flu is basically running rampant through my house make does it is on bothered by that basically didn't know what to say that I moved on through is update I kept on reading this sponsorships thanks make feel the love anyway we have about four five people call a break from the day earlier in the show said I ask him how he's doing he said all the way up as okay great good for you I'm happy to hear that right and now we have a little clarification Paul Rosenberg across the way what we got all right so all the way up it was up one person said as DJ Callie it it's not it's fat Joe okay so Joe did all the way up which I I should have known I'd input that to to to get together that's on me okay the second clarification is we have another caller call in and say what he meant by all the way up easy all the way up in the Bronx is Pelham bay got showing the northern Bronx area is all the way up right from the bay that's when he met okay so it's ray from the bay Pelham bay all the way up in the Bronx right so I'm all the way up so it is nothing to do with how is life is doing it's basically where he's living I would I would take that you know points that way of thinking over how I'm really good I'm all the way up that see I like the how my life is going more than where I'm living right I agree with that I don't I don't care where the bay is you know Monroe we go Mike the families of Mike happy holidays there mark happy holidays my concern in my blood hope you make up friend says the money so anyway and saw born June fifth one million for Robbie and this is what I want it I'm not fourteen fifty million dollars getting also all warm rounder full levy on al all but back who's who is I can't believe that what is she talking about what it was I I think what what Connors look at I'm not paying Robbie Anderson do I think there might be a team was in the red skins pay Paul Richardson from the Seattle Seahawks so there's always a market out there in there and you know there's a full born every day so there's some team that might be willing to give Robbie Anderson thirteen fourteen fifty million dollars a year the jets can't be that team here moving forward probably it is inspiring story my story come out a total drafted right he really developed hello I said some issues off the field wonder nice nice stories had some missteps again it but in terms of rise in the National Football League you give all the crowd the world I'm not paying that kind of money it's not that kind of Plano I don't know what round picks the levy on I'd want to get it second or each day also tomorrow's he's matured a lot since it's like mid season so you know I I I think not yeah thank yeah I think I think here you go through the draft to get players of the caliber of Adams the amount I mean you go through the NFL draft you want to find a lead level players is Jamal Adams Donna Lee level safety in the National Football League why would you trade him you know like what to say after games you know like the messaging is all he's doing is not the legal you not get in trouble long long one of the best records in jazz history I think he's a great kid and I agree yeah bell yeah yeah I will I look the whole idea and listen I understand that bell gays don't see eye to eye you mean to tell me you prove that offense of line **** bell okay go back to being close to a player he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers well certainly cat that but that's passed the factory they already signed him so they did that so yeah you know and he he he's a feature back to you yet you know giving it to fall okay all right yeah no that's fine one fourth round pick no one will be a salary dump it would be a case of gays and Douglas talk it out and saying give it will get some more production from Rhett running back there were not even have to pay even close to what we're paying leaving about another contending team the teams were interested that you'd be interested again though there there would be teams I'd be willing to bring live yeah Billboard even at his number Michael Massachusetts the fat was Carmichael how are you I do love Michael I believe I'm I'm not from around there I'm assuming you're a jets fan I have not no you're now you giant sand I am not no you're nothing neither will you not nothing no nothing is it in here but yes I've been a giant two years okay and I gotta tell you I can't quite fathom how you can say that day Gelman has not done a horrific job I mean to pick se Kwan Barkley is like I mean I could pick them anyone that picked up does not show any any ability as a GM and his his his true ability was shown this year in this year's draft when he's when he chose Daniel Jones at number six when he had what is being described as a generational player in Josh Alan that fell to him and I've been I believe quite sincerely that he could have easily parlayed his next two first round draft picks it was so afraid of losing Jones moved up enough spots and I've taken him and he could have had both players but I mean anything's a but number one to go back to the initial point about C. qual Barkley no I don't I don't think it's just everybody and their mother what attracted him because there are many people believe that they've got a man should never tried to take one part my point is you said that Barkley has turned out to be a great player saying that that it it it would have been very bizarre had he not been a great player so wasn't like you know that that it took a great deal of football act given to pick him yeah I mean I would take him second either my through the Penn state running backs that been busted asal football league absolutely but I mean they this won't and Thomas yeah but that's not really the point the point was the guy look like that yeah he could have been a box but quarterback he's a he's a terrible general manager is not easy if you look at it if the very fact of your bothered by the fact they get Josh our right that's really bothered by the address hello all right so he addresses and make sure that he gets his quarterback of the future of Daniel Jones it is second unless Daniel Jones Joe Montana or or Tom Brady I'm just not buying it to be Tom Brady already does have to be Joe Montana when you have to be either one of those two in but I'm sorry he's number six pick I thank you was a franchise if you go on the argument if we just let it play out here Michael we go on the argument that Jones is a franchise quarterback he is solved the biggest of the the giants have had in quite some time no that's not true because it is needed they have had in quite some time is our offensive line they signed the quarterback you don't think the quarterback is a big need of course it's a big need but you keep it but then why do you sign the line manning for on two million dollars if you're going to pick your franchise quarterback many many was on the contract no no no no no no no that's not correct.

"Take on you know the bills on Sunday you know it if you had to you know look back on this year gays talked about playing meaningful games in the month of December right around the start of training camp how would you encapsulate everything that transpired this season in terms of whether or not this was a success ultimate failure how do you grade out this season all I I don't I don't think it was a success I don't think that anyone within the organization we would call it a success from from players the coaches the upper management and and all the way up the ownership I did I don't think there's any way that you can you know I'd break this one down and they okay and how do you know because you'll get Dan Donald and he's black divisional find the the franchise quarterback but he's not the bona fide fine tune product yet which is understandable to get twenty to build a valid thing but you know even the loss that you could say this with the successful feed it with a hundred percent he's ready to take over the NFL and you know it obviously the winds haven't been there about the playoffs you know what you can blame injuries and and other things for why the offense has been taken off and and for everything to sell its its just at all I don't the this year as being I think that but I I also don't necessarily consider it a disaster or a total dysfunctional Matt anymore either which is kind of where that thing was trending at the midway point of the year you know the jets were one and seven and and they were losing and and they just bought the dolphin that they were getting blown out and you know they had all the injuries and then they were just all the garbage that was going on at that point in time it really did look like this is going to be a disaster while the the rallying to to kind of be at a point where they beat the bail whether they play their starters are not to finish the season seven and nine overall and five and doing a lot that and I think you can be in that I think that's all and to the year but I did that it probably in and with a lot of what it you know if the jet that they'd help you beat you mostly had gotten her to return to the soul part of his offense that Joe Douglas was in charge from the start of the off season as opposed to after the draft and free agency what this could have been because at seventy nine which you're talking about a two or three games go the other way the jet that suddenly in nine and seven ten big football team so odd a lot of what it not necessarily disaster but but I wouldn't call it exactly all right kind of what about the relationship between gays and Donald right now bush good I mean that's that's the thing that I think you can come out of your thing is that it's not water it's not your jokes it's not a guy like Sam Donaldson Adam Gade do genuinely like each other they get along great and their relationship is great I mean I think that the the fact the gate that still young he can relate to Donald in a way that a lot of other people couldn't I know that that Donald love them in terms of a sense of humor in the way that you can put things in some of the the calls that they have in the line to I mean I can't they're not necessarily radio programming that the deal we get a little ticked off at you we started going over specifically what they are but I know the crack Donald up and you know you just relates to a man and I think that that when Sam talks about or talk so glowingly about Adam it's not a joke you're not just saying that he really does like him as a head coach and both of these guys are on the same page now it's just a matter of getting everyone else on the same page as well to really get that off and start in on when you look at case though I mean do you have it in terms of obviously him and Donald R. C. and I'd eyes you just articulated Connor out what about gays in terms of being the right guy for this job in getting this team where they need to go I have added that the thing that is I honestly I I I don't know you know I I really I don't I don't know if the gate is the right guy definitively I don't think anyone knows if gate is the right guy definitively because everything you can say well this goes in its favor there's a lot that goes against demand yeah I I don't think and I've said it before and I don't think you can make any concrete evaluation on Adam gave the head coach based off of what you've seen what the jet if you want to dive back into what he was with the dolphins during a three year there they look you've got a a group information there from from his struggles with Miami then you loop in some of the struggle here injuries don't matter yeah you know what this guy did not an acting up I thought we did those three years but dolphin I thought we used under sixteen game here it's not just the it's over he's not a good coach whatever but if you just want to look at what he's done with it yet I don't think you can make any concrete that's been because the injuries that he's been dealt I mean it's a blow moves the minute they they there are there are two players on the often defy the ball that have played every game this season and it's Robbie Anderson and James the Crowder you've got started Alex Lewis can't play this week to Jeff flock guard gate is going to be working with his nine different combinations starting off at the wine may be using is eleven starter I mean it's just it's crazy when when you think about what he's been dealt and and I don't think that you can make any at that this party that terrible coach because he hadn't had so much success with the stated if rock for the office of line and the offense at all this stuff and missing fanned Arnold for three games for weeks you can't say you think because of that but at the same time the the reason why you cut at exit this even feeling a little I don't I don't really know an uneasy feeling is that why you can't blame gays for not lighting up the world with the handy with dell you do kind of wish that he showed a little bit more when Donald without you know that you would be able to get all the box not a good quarterback he would have been able to get a little bit more at a loop fall right well the office of line of the players are good he maybe would be able to schemes and things that have them play a little bit more I don't think you can say the gate is a terrible coach because the what happened here with it the the because the injuries but you could have been able to say he was the guy or he was you know maybe that innovative off at the mine if you if able to have that in spite of all these negative and that he would be out during that it's either from hell for the chat so it's got it if that if that weird year you know and I think that that's why we're here is because you you wish you saw more but at the same time you can understand why you didn't see more but if they are able to finish the season seven and nine I think that is at least a little bit of maybe the back handed accomplishment but it still someone of accomplishment considering what what they seem to doubt within terms of injuries and drama and myth and don all in all these different guys that have gone down but then that they'll find a way to win seven games even if it means being a team in the bell that I'll play the starters Conor do you feel better about Donald as the quarterback to gaze as the head coach all right yeah just because I think I think Donald going to be a star I mean I I I but that that I think he's going to be the star I don't I don't know necessarily what what date are gonna be at I I think there's some optimism that that he can be the guy I mean you look at what he did for it in there to kago obviously would you be able to do with with with pain and and the Broncos but I think what my my biggest concern with gates right now is that when I look at his offense I do believe there's often can work I do believe that that is off and can be a lead I believe that what he he did these guys that it can be an offense that scored thirty forty fifty sixty points on on any given Sunday I think they can be that good my issue with gate is that I I don't know yet if you the credit codes that build eight game for his players or if he needs to find the player debate his team and the best coaches in the league that the guys that are truly the bat build their scheme around the fire they see a guy that that X. Y. and be good so is role within the offense in balance is that the old that they make them do X. Y. Z. so good I don't know gaze yet at the guided said no I need a guy that does this and we need to find a guy that that that that that he doesn't necessarily change maneuver and not get you can get his players enjoy Douglas can give ms guide well then you'll have to fix that but I just don't know yet if he's that kind of codes that need the player for the scheme as opposed to going into the fire the McDonald look I mean I've I've said it before that you don't know without a question of a doubt if you're going to be a franchise quarterback yet you know that he's not going to be a box I mean he's shown lady at this point that that show you an indicator for you that he is not a bot he's not terrible you just don't know if he's going to take that next step yet to be a top five bona fide superstar player you know the Pat my home the Sean walked in error Rogers that guy he just hasn't done that yet partially because he's very young I mean to get twenty two years old he's still developing the don't know for a matter of fact yet that he's been really gonna be a top five guy but I'm not the they think that he's got to be because the I mean.

"Tire nobody beats out fair tire nobody lets it out to ray from the day's up next to the fan was gonna ray merry Christmas happy new year Mark Williams as of right you big man good we all the way up well all right good for you and show all keeping it might be might be the new York's van I hope that the Buffalo Bills can exercise the demons of losing for some football and I don't worry that that's a decade you know hello New York gets behind them all right not just to be what they were impossible he's Max yeah they are picked up but chances and you know they always become damaged goods but I still think it's a it's a good signing we in New York we make the mistake of comparing the next to the Yankees are and that's not good repair any food because as you know the Yankees offense heating is Florence I will forever what the Yankees and the Mets if I'm forced to choose a little girl with the Mets and the Yankees and I would like it to Yankee fans and so much friends on each other because Wilson who you are and we should all hands really that goes all the way with that being said I'm clear right you're all the way up we appreciate the call and great to hear from me again I don't even know what that means do you know what that means Rosenberg I thought maybe you're a millennial what is what is all the way up B. I've never heard that my life all right just curious as I was doing so is almost the way out all right good I'm glad happy holidays happy new year merry new year whatever all the way from what to wear the I don't know what we think I don't think I didn't hear ray yeah I love you I don't think everyone's gonna be holding hands rooting for the Buffalo Bills and we're all going to come together root for the team from western New York to go on a great run through the AFC playoffs I I don't I don't foresee that transpiring I don't foresee that happening and I do they met Yankee fans there will be some that we can root for the other but for the most part many a defense gets set one of those matches the truth I mean they to get you know to get a a Yankee fan to then root for the Mets that doesn't really happen to get a met fan to root for the Yankees that doesn't really happen my you might not be bothered by their success as some but you might still be bothered none the less and we'll see exactly how this all season and for a listen let's be realistic here I mean for the Yankees we all season was one movie was Gerrit Cole in the three hundred twenty four million dollars in the nine years that they paid him they've lost a number of guys off the team this had been very very successful in the regular season the past couple years as far as the Mets are concerned yeah the pretences move is a big move Losin sack Wheeler was a big loss the fact that he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies is a big loss the fact that you know Didi Gregorius is now a member of the Philadelphia Phillies as well the fact that Joe Girardi is an up tick in manager over Gabe Kapler the fact that the National League east has gotten stronger yes the nats are weaker but they're still the defending World Series champs in Strasbourg in that rotation is still together but when rain don't side with the angels in the off season that's a huge loss the mopar that line up losing to everyday players in two consecutive all seasons of the oak of Harper and rain toll not a lot of organizations can survive that but that's survival also Harper ironically enough they win the World Series in a postseason success is Bryce Harper is now a member of the Philadelphia Phillies while long term signed a deal last offseason but the Braves are going anywhere the Phillies are better yelp the Mets are better certainly the back in the bull pen is going to be better they can't be as bad historically bad as they were this past year now the question is can the guys they gave me the success you don't expect people wanted to give you a fifty three home runs but you certainly expect Alonso to hit it between thirty five and forty five do you not and the other interesting thing is the adjustment to the baseball how significant is the adjustment with a home run rates being what they were a year ago and seeing guys drive the ball over the fence with such regularity how big of a reaction from Major League Baseball after all these investigations after we saw a little bit of a downturn in the post season how big of a downturn DSC in the regular season in twenty twenty that would be fascinating to follow as well Poughkeepsie New York we go it's dad what's going on Danny thanks take Michael Essien sportswriter every day I do get you great thanks stand up pressure to man thanks for watching what's on your mind but the last call I think what he would drive that is exactly right buffalo's really dealings New York football team we really have but the forty years so what you gonna do yeah well yeah I I I understand in the jets and giants are over in Jersey I I I get it and I'm not hating on the Buffalo Bills in any way shape or form and I like what big government is done I like watching Allen I think Allen's of raw talent that he's got a knack for finishing in the fourth quarter idea certainly like that defense and you're like what they've been able to do what they're buffalo they've been close the patriots seek can easily think that in the the two times they face the pats this year in the regular season they have a couple things went away in some spots that when when the games but I don't think a walk around New York City look at buffalo is New York City yes they might create third favorite team anyway but all right thank you take Michael have a great day you got any appreciate the call buddy let's set out to Brooklyn New York it's Paul what's going on Paul what's up Louis save them all Meghan in their body how are you right now you won't comment on it but I really hope Maggie Parker I know you can comment on but that might help that worked out what there are no plans from real quick with the all the way up to the DJ walls and he says nothing could stop me I'm all the way up there you go thank you well reference something I just sold out with a little DJ callin all the way up that's where that's where ray from the bay was referencing there you go Paul see you seek and the family center provides I appreciate it the most complete with John McElroy are very far from that we don't when you pull you broke up on me what was that okay notification hate the eagles or the tabloids more I think it will yeah I I think it's I think it's both the more I think it's full flow the bids of the ball that's a fancy one who I think who do you think the giants as a franchise would rather see in the playoffs eagles of the cowboys our I would probably say it's the eagles they'd rather not see in the playoffs are only verified open but I don't know I mean that's that's open up to vast about over to a pretty steady co author what that winds of write that down and stone all but you need all the help you can get all your cab with and this is been from the start all the drama down there being rating Garrett Jones and president of the contract date is been this is going on all year for the cabinets I agree with mark but we'll see what happens I'm Polly good luck this weekend or a brother you got a man let's head out to Waterbury Connecticut Stacey what's going on she's mark are you don't run Hey there Jeez how you doing man good my looks first however vengeance talking so it's real pleasure not all places all my thanks for making the call yeah research on listen I I know you guys were talking about all the real one and on Jimmy Johnson all you only you'll Jimmy Johnson we spent four years in Miami now five that's that's correct right correct Marino weeded terrace Killeen's when all Jimmy Johnson was that cold she towards Achilles in ninety three one a one ninety three was it when the Cleveland in ninety six Marino at all a compatriot what you spent three weeks out right yeah but at night in all the chores Achilles when our schools that cold that was ninety three was sure yeah I've got a Browns game yes I run and I wasn't that was in Cleveland correct yeah well we you're right about that okay on I just want to talk about the charge was we my brother and my father been giant chance like thirty five years and knock the giants are absolute disgrace all certainly needs to go what they've told you why the past eight years I mean dollars thing through walls find all of fame quarterback your chides had down and not for them not being able to build around there all string quarterback and get back to a third Super Bowl your schools show how far your organization really fell on her face that I mean it's it's been a disgrace to watch I mean I can watch he's games anymore specialty why not on the field it's very very hard to watch the giants watcher Amer the guy can't calls the giants are losers I mean Jared crier Jim called while I mean they could hire somebody on much more effective than watch servers but in the past and all to make this kind of higher and then you give the guy a five year deal I mean it's a disgrace mark do you agree I'll hang up let's see thank you I mean she said I I I appreciate the call yeah I can understand the frustration of your giant fan and you're at this position for and the giants is organization here for a lot of different reasons it's the loyalty they show to the likes of Jerry's even though he was seven one epic failure after another in the NFL draft which hurts the depth of the team have a longstanding ramifications on a franchise because it can't be just about attacking free agency and bring in in high priced talent which what you hope is that those guys help put you over the top you're still going to have to be able to draft and develop guys over the years and Reese fails now when you have given me the next steps in and he has really been great with the media we understand that and was brought in I think to do one job and is not stuck with that job and it's kind of been all over the place and some of the deals that he's made is a really make mark made much sense like the letter Williams deal but he also came into a scenario where the cupboard was not exactly full and he's done in an okay job and the reason why I think that Gelman is done an okay job not the very fact that I think he's a a great general manager I would say this with Barkley hit and I think what Daniel Jones is going to hit and we know the quarterbacks the most important position but he was brought here as the giants at that stage we're looking at that eagle game the previous year that he lied played and said that's more prototypical those type of games you can still get out of the live batting and he said he was brought here not to rebuild the cities in the sixties he's here to win and the giants still have about one and they'll give the coach a selected and I think with Pat Shurmur I think Sunday against the eagles could be last game for him as giant head coach he's a good guy good football man but around the NFL for years good offense of mind but that doesn't.

"First up here on this Thursday afternoon it's Brandon it's the fair was a brand they their most hated on my end for my call I'm good thank you hi so I like your monologue today and I totally agree with the Tampa so I think that's a solid moves as far as monetary from Pittsburgh thank Lowry and maths would get the job done that make a trade well yeah we're allow his contract get rid of Matt's yeah I mean they couldn't I mean they could I I know match would be the apple there I out and Lowry would be the salary dump yeah what they take mats that probably would I think they were too and I think I like my taste leadership it brings everything to the game that I met so lacking in terms of speed and clubhouse present from good bad because I mean you know he's he's a good player at thirty one years of age is not make a lot of money he's you know natural center fielder now of defensively metric so we'll look at that there's been a little bit of regression with him as an outfielder as a center fielder and a specially this past year last year and a half two years which is fight it happens but I mean is he better than anything the Mets have right now see that's something that's been kind of disappointing when you look at a a team that's built in wants to be defined by their starting rotation I'm still believe or not the middle defense you look at the catching spot leaves you wanting you look at second base and the lack of range now for Robbie Conal leaves a warning and then you look in center field the Mets really don't have a you know a really a natural center fielder their morte would resolve that any be the best center field option they've had in quite some time so I grew the a I think the the more to a move would make sense but I either get a sense that they were closer to making that kind of a deal maybe a couple weeks back then they are right now that's the least sense right now yeah but I I don't want to lose JB Davis I love JB Davis I think he's going to be really good down the road I'm a little concerned about that's the so I'd like to see him play the way he's been talking and all the home run for you say you're going to get but his injuries are such a big concern and I think that if we got more to say but we can maybe try minimal when left if we needed to work such reflection plan that they can make all the sense and I don't know about you I mean I I get really excited about boring and to grow when they had spoken masters out there I don't know what I'm going to get from him ever every outing then I know Pittsburgh is desperate for people no I would be a good no no I I get all that see here's the problem you mention JT Davis where you plan where is he simply yeah that's something he's not very base it was a really good I mean ideally I'd like to see the millisecond I like to put shaving at third and use kalo off the bench I don't know I can't be doing that you know that right now we can't at symbol and his number at this stage he and Robbie can know your put him on the bed and she is that's not gonna work you know that I mean I am a perfect world you like to do that but in reality that's not gonna happen so you're gonna make me third you're gonna have can know at second base right so that's your what your thoughts were those guys are gonna line they'll get JD Davis was gonna play where is he defensively as a player you can't he is a no for lack of a better way of putting it you know he's a really a negative defensively and the he is a very very good bad but here's where like I would be proactive as organization when the Mets acquire JD Davis from the Astros there was no fanfare there was no adulation it was like all right well we've got JT Davis and then he built up a resume and had big hits a clutch hits and showed himself to be a really good major league hitter right even with all the best offensive struggles with why wouldn't you play offer that entry them at the high point to where he is right now as a player I know you don't I know you like him as a player I I get that but there are other Tina like him as a player to American League team would love to plug them in as a DH to wear then you trade an asset and your training I'm at a high point of where he is right now because he's clear in a high point now as compared to where it was a year ago because the at bats and the experience a game this past year with the Mets why when you then move him to be able to strength in another part of your team because I will I will get a spot on this team right now where he's going to get this is the point I'm unless there's injuries you know that's that's a good point so what can we do can we move him okay came in that and move bad for catcher for backup catcher so maybe that's a little bit more defensive and occasionally gets the RB I homework for you a flood wall months be the starting guy will give a good backup catcher and move the access that you have in JD data and maps and see what you can get back but they're coming to mind I can't think of a character that I would want a death for those that's the issue have right now and if I move in date JD Davis and Steve about sprint appreciate the call man I'd want more than just a backup catcher I'd want I want someone I'm gonna be leaning on a day in day out basis behind home plate or or my centerfield spot or if I wanted to add you know another piece to my team organizational peace to my team and that's where you can get into a player in terms of the big name guys that I threw out earlier where its the crow Carlos Corail indoor you'll get Mookie Betts at a movie that's up there in Boston or Nolan arenado out there in Colorado with the Rockies will set out to Long Branch it's Max it's the fat what's a Max but almost you know just going on what you guys are talking about I really disagree I would never go and think to trade Judy Davis simply because history the mentalist knows probably gonna be not getting five hundred at bats and having that that death is a big thing that's something the must of been lacking over the last few years so I think holding on to J. being knowing you're going to find three hundred back alleys adding bell trouble finding three hundred at that if the world is perfect but it never is it never is any season look at the Yankees last year they navigated around so many injuries but their deaths is what got them to where they did and I think that's something the Mets might add that people are not really looking at and I think I like it maybe don't get rid of JD have that bad to rely on them what do you do that with Lowry so Larry right now is excess and and and you know what they did use the last year and this twenty six on a team this year I have a crazy different idea that I want and that's to do with this twenty six idea that out I wouldn't say now maybe but they have that extra guy use them here and there pinch hitter late in games I liked it when they got Larry personally so I can say you know I knew better but it obviously didn't pan out was a mistake if they get throw him in a trade yeah I don't even know about it or not that's something old on the one thing I wanna mess to do is something we've been talking about it with Tampa Bay and I'm not saying the opener idea you know bought my ideal was again thinking injury that six starters right now on people's dangling Max I'd love the idea of personal and Walker I never say his name right but both being the fifth a starter and telling them both to be long having them prepared to go for a full start a leper solo go go five innings and then watch it comes in and let him go as long as you can go and have them too as a two sim as starters and then you know what down the road so miserable and string someone's shoulder the gonna hurt they'll both be here any longer you separate them and see how that takes you if something anybody really is done in the majors before but now with this extra guy I think it might be a route I think it's an idea and I'm I haven't heard anybody talk about it and I'd love for them to try some like it well Max appreciate the call so it in terms of both of those guys would every fifth day conceivably would pitch depending on you know which cell gets the start the Walker relieves him and see how long you get it you know yeah it's not the craziest thing in the world I don't they the Mets are going to do that I think they're gonna look for a battle here you're writing entries to always happen and I'm not talking about when when when you look at you know training all of your depth because you want to bring up the Yankees I mean it was historic the amount of injuries the Yankees had last year in two thousand nineteen the point being that I mention about dealing Davis is dealing a guy that has value that has representative value for organization that does not have a lot of quality at this stage down on the farms there Sir farm system to deal from that other organizations would be interested in when you're looking to get creative to try and win in twenty twenty that's the point yes we can we can look at Robbie can I would think is Robbie can really going to be playing a hundred fifty five hundred sixty games this year all I could probably not that there's gonna be opportunities to get everyone at bats for the most part but can you take a little bit from that depth and strength in a week this someplace else that's the point let's head out to Albany you New York it's dead it's the family's going on any good afternoon Sir how you doing today nobody cried I work for a minor league team up here for the Houston Astros couple years ago they had a tech to come up yeah because played in all forms the solution a mystery thing Castro yeah and here is a left handed bat is thirty two years old he'll average may be fifteen home runs thirteen home once a year this guy is a left handed hitter that's quite different very well if he's the guy they should need to act and you sign in you're not trading anybody this is the guy you air now I hear everybody else talk about trading on trading anybody the match have right now I don't like a know it all but he's going to have to play because of the money but he's going to get injured he if he's heading to twenty in the end of may well what fans the media and and the Max players wanting to play so you have to have somebody in place for him you could move well while you're over there you could use our help make meal there Katie Davis is returns laughs yes but open call merry.

"Christmas enjoyed it product goes all as well and will keep you entertained here for the next four hours a lot to get into certainly the jets and the giants but an opportunity to react and do you know what I was doing some fill in shows fill in for bart with Maggie past couple weeks I thought the Mets hero to address that bull pen I love the Mets should go out there and bring delegate tasks as a board I know coming off the ruptured Achilles tendon I know and you know thirty one years of age and I understand the fact that he's a reliever that you know I times is lost the strike zone because he six eight and mechanically sometimes you can get out of whack but I firmly believe at his peak or really at his best when Delbert chances was in find reliever form I did the there was a more dominant eighth inning man in all of Major League Baseball do I think he's a closer no I do think you see a regression a bit tense is what he's asked to close games out but I do think that when he was in that seventh eighth inning roller specifically that eighth inning role only those are more dominant reliever in all of Major League Baseball now I was a big bore the Mets going out there bring a back I was even a big bore the Yankees bring it on back even after giving Gerrit Cole the nine year three hundred twenty four million dollar contract that they gave him in free agency even with the strike that bull pen it will double bed asked to be doing less moving forward here with the strength of the Yankees starting rotation please I think but chances is that good and when news comes out on Christmas Eve that delegate tasks is is going to be a met and you give him a one year deal and you know I know there's you know a bonus is there but I mean it ten million dollars for the race that's there it's a hell of a son I have no issues with the Saudi if you mean to tell me you're willing to gamble on Robbie Condello at his age at that stage of his career being a Brody guy rescuing from Seattle bring him back here to New York and make the deal that you made including Edwin D. as to bring both of those guys here but really the gamble in the race get the time was in could know because of what you were paying them moving forward and the natural regression with age it was come along with the way you really willing to take that kind of a gamble Robbie could you mean to tell me you were willing to take a one year gamble on delicatessens you were willing to give him that kind of a deal and say all right well we'll run the risk I know he's coming off the partial tear the the Achilles tendon I understand that it was coming off of injury ravaged two thousand nineteen I get it but when he was at his best he was an all star it was great for the Yankees is familiar with this market places fees prospered and thrived here in New York but if you're willing to take the gamble can no you should be willing to take the big gamble on delicatessens because Abby is peak at his best he was better than Blake tried in and his point seven eighty are a couple years ago more consistent the blink trident I'd rather have him than Daniel Hudson who last year coming off a very very good season as Ron very hot cold of the course of his career last year the straight in the most of the hearted runners of any reliever in all of Major League Baseball we saw him it's very very successfully for the Washington nationals all the guys that were left or even some of the guys that were even signed already it was worth it that gamble to me was absolutely worth it and if you're a Mets fan you should be static yes there are concerns the with this team yes you still have a concern about centerfield yes is still a concern about behind home plate I get that I understand that you have a concern in the dugout who the hell knows what Carlos Beltran is going to be in a managerial dug out you need a change Mickey Callaway needed to go but it's not like you brought in a manager with a wealth of experience those had success in other spots that man wanted in Philadelphia's they was Joe Girardi is gonna be bad for the Phillies here moving forward but even with all that you knew you had to do something to address the bull pen you could roll the same guys back out there and hope for the best the familiar was all the sun gonna be consistently in the strike zone that windy as was good it will you be able to overcome whatever her only as in between these years because it is not physical it's not a case you struggle because he was tipping pitches all season long we heard about the foot work on the mound right the placement of the feet the placement of the hands even when they change pitching coach is his struggles did continue is basically a home run mission almost like batting practice at times as compared to the year before with the Seattle Mariners were statistically is the most dominant reliever in all of Major League Baseball they want to say okay well relievers historically run hot and cold so the Mets are banking on a windy as to have a massive bounce back twenty twenty fun but he still has to overcome the pressure of pitching in New York the spotlight that comes along with pitching in New York that's still needs to be answered that question still needs to be answered and there are some that believe that he is not necessarily a quote unquote New York type of guy I'm willing to give him another chance I'm I will put all my chips in the middle of the table and said it would be as without a shadow of a doubt is going to be my nine seven guy is gonna close games and save games no I needed to have better options I would never brought familiar back I said at the time they decide to do that and give a three year contract can familiar bounce back yeah he could bounce back but I think you have to be realistic with the expectations that with the tense is coming off of injury what exactly is going to get from the chances in twenty twenty when he is healthy I would expect them to be great I'd be surprised if he wasn't and then you throw in Lugo who should grain that he's still in the bull pen because he wanted to be a part of the starting rotation after the mets' added the likes of Rick Porcello in Michael Walker in free agency the strength in the back up the back for that starting rotation to give him six reliable arms are six arms I would say most of a reliable but six options for that starting rotation or really I would say three guys for two spots right but should someone go Daddy injury you do have options moving forward you're not rolling out a guy that's gonna be absolute doormat was gonna be hitting a practice for the opponent because you believe in the talent that Walker can bounce back in A. believe that Rick Porcello who's been hot and cold every other year he's been dominant the next year he's been not so much so maybe this year for poor Sello in a met uniform growing up a met fan growing up in this area going to see a whole Pratt maybe reports sell this year is going to bounce back in a big time here and you know the limitations that this team does half but I could be spending money like the eighties that could be spending money all boss Angeles Dodgers it's not like to spend the money like the Kansas City Royals but there's limitations to this organization of what Brodie band wagon in as general manager can and cannot do anyone all in last year and this year not so much who knows what you're gonna get for me an SS but this can never win Morris they consider feel be a good enough combination well we shall see I know they've had co talks with you know the Indians and checked in online door they checked in on a car radio with the Houston Astros we know about Mookie Betts up there in Boston and we'll see if there's another big deal down the line who knows but at the base of it if it's just the here and now I'm not telling me it's enough but they brought in a row lever that can dominate they brought a lever and reliever it if he is healthy add something to that bull pen that they sorely missed a guy that is succeed in this market in the Bronx taking his talents to queens a guy that when he his right is virtually on hit a ball and he has been perennially consistent now within those years there been times where he's missed the strike zone and we saw a couple yeah we saw a couple post season runs ago where you know the Yankees could not call upon him in the bullpen because they did not trust that he was gonna go throw strikes I get all that but you were talking right now to probably I would say in this area I don't know if there's a bigger delegates and suspend the myself I love him I love watching him pitch in pinstripes I'm gonna enjoy watching him pitch in the blue and orange for the Mets there's nothing not to like about what he provides a clubhouse there's nothing not to like about what he provides on the mount and I think I like Christmas Eve for the Mets to go out after being in out in out in the pursuit of delegate tasks is to find out that that deal got done and he's coming back in staying in New York but moving over across town to queens instead of the Bronx there's nothing not to like about that movie good for the Mets good per Brody they needed to add a quality bowl pine arm and they brought in a guy that when he's right is one of the more dominant relievers in all of Major League Baseball eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six that is your number to call we get it go a little bit tense is we get go a little mad small loses with you on.

"I was addition by subtraction don't care who the hell was played quarterback this year for the Jacksonville Jaguars they needed to rid themselves of the headache that was Blake Bortles and he's gone and they bring a guy that delivered in Philadelphia there is a god in Philadelphia after help them win a Super Bowl with the eagles now do I trust the Jaguars to take down the pats will save your pictures and you know this well coached we got the greatest quarterback of all time who doesn't seem to age they just had a big time weapon and Gordon as long as he's able to stay on the straight and narrow I consider to pass the drug test he's an impact player even at what is he twenty eight twenty nine years old he still an absolute physical freak you know what you're gonna get in that'll mean yes a little bit of regression at tied it with great cast yes the news the other day with the center David Anders have a blood clots not a good sign at all god it's been a starter up there for for five years in part a you yo intj here that often supplies the rock solid but they're so well coached they know how to execute a game plan and they're no allowed to take advantage of the miscues and misfortunes of others solve your patriot fan that keeps you warm and cozy at night yeah I can't talk ya I can't tell you why you're crazy no pagers are going to be there now this is the year implodes I mean people have been saying that for six years it's all over remember when they lost a game what was it in Kansas city remember that bangles will follow a week this is the week every that it's past time is calm it's over Brady's over bell check what they do like wax the bangles that week and they went on to win the Superbowl there was a Sunday or Monday night game in which they when it can't sitting actually smoked so I don't until it ends I know people hate the phrase well I got to see it to believe it that it really is true with the patriots even when it's over I still believe it's over I mean Brady my point only sixty five years old warm part Gander what's going on in your Hey mark up what do you think the message you're gonna do with JD Davis next season I they haven't listed as an infielder but the little bit that he played third base he was really shaky I think you got a lot less damage out left field and maybe a whole spring training of playing the outfield it could be okay and I like to see him go after it red donuts are yeah it's going to cost you a lot and it always to see the nats lose out on to impact players and let him leave via free agency in back to back all seasons and now a little bit tough to see though Andrew I mean everybody I mean they they want to pay Harper or they gave me a three hundred million dollar offer but I mean some of the money was so I mean it was so convoluted where their pain until the sixty five years old so it was a three hundred million dollar offer an essence but he wasn't getting the money at that stage now Randall we know how great of a player is I mean if you're Washington now their playoff team they're three games up on the calls for the first wild card spot in the National League if shares are healthy they could be a dangerous team major player in the National League I just have a hard time not telling you would look into med uniform I have a hard time thinking then after gonna let another quality everyday player leave the building and walk out of Washington and not sign that he might one leaf but I just have a hard time envisioning that now in terms your initial question with with a JD Davis Andrew maybe also that one of my most comfortable JD Davis's as a DH yeah I know but yeah you know but I you know I there's no DH in the National League so yeah I I would not trust JD Davis in the infield I think the most the best thing you could possibly do is get him as comfortable as he can be as a corner outfielder there we have three DH is right now playing well one ones on I. L. but you know Davis no and a lot of those really should be at the edge well I don't think Alonzo is as bad as scouts lead you to believe there's going to be now he's not he's not Hernandez he's not don Mattingly at first base he's nothing like that Andrew but no I've seen I we've all seen worse for space and now he is not not the fleet is the fort not the most agile guys will make some plays a very very interesting but I can live with Alonso now pro typically if you stick Alonso in the American League would he be a DH probably yes it would be the guy that you're gonna have a defensive replacement for late in the game yeah I mean potentially you know you don't want to lose the battle line up now yeah I mean can no you get concerned about his range now at this stage mid to late thirties that's a problem you're locked into him for four more years yeah Davis what is shown here about JD Davis is it that's one there's not many malt moves in the Aussies the Brody van Wagoner can hang his hat on that's one of when the DS can no one that has not been hung anywhere JB Davis that's a good one any given opportunity and Davis would that opportunity is the law with it so I look him as a piece I don't know if I'd say that he's a foundation piece by look him as a piece now you got to find a way to play if you're gonna be built around starting pitching we also need to have a look at defense somewhere eleven seventeen and the A. "Way fifteen twenty minutes from NASCAR Grambling is going to join us as fancy dress abounds news certainly the fallout Indianapolis with Andrew luck's early retirement in the colts and has added fantasy impact there some of the guys are still holding now does he go Aaliyah Melvin Gordon with cowboys in the Chargers respectively so total fantasy get your feel for that but before that you and I on the busy phones let's head out to queens it's Mike it's the fat what's going on Michael mark loses the hardest working man in sports so great dear was back on the well Mike I appreciate thanks and taking the time making the call ma'am what's on your mind not a problem mark a big mess and I think I think tonight is is definitely by far the biggest biggest the game of the year I think tonight is it is definitely a must win what do you think yeah I agree I agree I mean we kicked off talk about the fact you know every series is the next big series right but follow and losers of four in a row you know what was a lost weekend at home against the Atlanta Braves yeah and and the I think the next two to Beyonce of the I think I'd be a disappointment if you lose the series to the Chicago Cubs I think tonight's a bass a bounce back game for the Mets let's see what this team and they've answered the call here and they've dealt with a lot they've mentally dealt with a lot this season I'd be surprised if they did not respond tonight I agree I think so because I think a step up I agree I agree I mean I I I do and you know instruments but at this point Mike thanks a lot for the call I think's in the garden to grow next two nights you know you're gonna have to scratch across some offense I get it and the cubs and I can head to the baseball game pot I'd be surprised if they do not respond tonight Lennix mass we go it's our buddy Robby what's going on Robbie knows how worried as everybody doing that one's good bad how bout yourself all right I'm doing alright man yeah glad the don kids doing well the other role grown up right Jackson Jackson's in first grade amazingly enough all my members board I was driving down with with Donna was I guess like if you're in the hospital that day and I was on the right yeah there's a lot of little rock that's exactly right Jackson was born on a Friday morning that was a long crazy around too long I was considered to be on my radio show up here about do much radio does have them on the air but I'm I can pay for it so anyway a couple things I wanted to address first of all you know the September call ups are coming up and obviously they because he is a guy who the Yankees like but now they put him in the bullpen is he going to be a starting rotation guy in the future and will the spots started on September and the other thing I want to dress was this whole idea the errant judges had a hundred home runs I would love to know of the hundred home runs how many or soul shots I I've said this many times in the year and this idea of putting a guy up second who strikes out almost a hundred thirty five times a year makes no sense and now he's hot I would bet your show up behind what made you had back labor certain interop Erin judge the fourth or the third because to me it makes no sense for guys this hot the batting sometimes by himself if he doesn't have a good day and if you're gonna play Hicks again come back that Aaron Hicks lies about somebody night to make it look like it's a second leadoff hitter because Erin comes up so many times with nobody on base it makes no sense this whole idea of putting the power of second I'm sorry I a million times yeah it to the federal open the Yankees logic in in terms of jobs you know they look at a lot of that's going to turn over and it's not exactly a B. that line up one through nine you know every turn through right so right a bit of a different look and they love judges when he's gone awry judges approach up at the plate and I I think is what I grew up in you know you you know they're always a four matic to put together a line up right speaker at the top you number three had a we all around your pa forehead or was your best power hitter right the second best power in a right and then then he started to see that kind of transition in Major League Baseball and kind of change the logic and put lineups together whether hitting the pitcher aids or had that you know and having the double a you know double leadoff hitter put him ninth whatever might be right and you've also seen a change here in terms of though the way you know the speed game has been lessened small for the sequel and the ever present our lift and drive has been emphasized so I mean it's been a radical changes compared to weigh baseball was looked at attacked at twenty five thirty years ago what makes it boring to lack emotion of the game is really made it difficult for me sometimes to watch all the home as I grew to understand the ball few solitaire would Manford says okay were wrong says immediately baseball and the other thing I was going to address real quickly was the fact that you guys seem to not be able to take three in one pitches watching the Mets the other day was two three an account the guys of the order of the walk is just kind of disappeared from baseball and I understand three and wanted to get a good ball down the middle you most readable sometimes passing the baton for another guy's messenger down to run for three runs in the late innings you know it's always a good thing I don't see as much intelligence and the other things you know a few guys hitting the shifts constantly you know Hicks is going back and you know the thing about Hicks is always heard one thing and those better Hicks every time he gets up in every time the ship once in awhile if you just put your board appalled punt the ball down the line left side to give you a real estate has about a hundred miles between your home plate and the end of left field and it's just ridiculous to watch guys constantly it into the ship that I the ship bothers me so much lives it's taking away the beauty of the game for me at all but I mean it's to the advantage I mean then you have to make the adjustments robin and great to hear from you man and thanks a lot for the call to let your your deal well but it's a you know to the defense's advantage if I was ahead or you did not make the adjustment now there are some guys are talented enough with the bat that they can make the adjustment now there are a lot of guys as we saw with to share with the Yankees that had the great inability to do so I mean just did not care was trying to hit the ball over the right field wall plate of that short fans and it was not looking at it was not looking to do any of that so and and he's not alone examples there's numerous guys across the sport that's why the shift is as prominent as it is title baseball's talked about maybe make an adjustment to the rule book to try to lessen the amount of the shift and when you can I get all that but also falls on the heater to I mean it can't be all or nothing and you know being a poll happy left your writing it just can't be that let's head out to orange New Jersey it's our buddy John was going to Johnny this was a brother I don't John welcome back if your local airwaves thank you and good to be back what's on your mind they let's change it up a little bit a little NFL this is probably the list and look at the Tokyo locally anyway before the start of the NFL season and just want to get a feel who or the mall looses Superbowl picks this year we look at yeah it's a good question you know if I thought Gordon I and I I bought into the Chargers before if I thought Gordon was gonna leak into the regular season I don't love the lack of defensive adjustment last year taking on the patriots by Gus Bradley maybe I tell you the only charge I think there needs a team to root for room for rivers I love the passion which he plays for I don't think it's going to be I know you're a huge patriots fan I don't think it's gonna be the pats once again I think the Browns will play well this year and a lot of people room for them to be an absolute disaster because the personalities on the team but I I I do think the Browns will live up to a lot of the expectations and stamp themselves as a good system playoff team moving forward after this season if I to pick a team I guess Kansas city on a little bit at the end of in the end of season going number different ways you can go Packers I think the chance I you go eagles I think the falcons will have a step forward year this year ramps coming back if I to pick a team out of the you know out of the blue a little bit I'll probably tell you the Packers yeah I would probably say the saints coming out of the end of the okay so if you need a is so you know you're my heart's with the one one well I mean if if if I just look at it you know but it it handicapping the race I have a hard time getting past the when when the Kansas city I mean the charges how can you have any confidence in the Chargers now you can in a letter and other than them I mean where are you going I I mean of course is going to be team to come out of nowhere or injuries you know what's going to happen but as of a hard time getting past the women Kansas city in the AFC yeah I think Jacksonville of a better you this year John with full as a quarterback I think there'll be a group that's a little bit more together as you saw cracking a year ago the big question is for that what issues to but reportedly down in Jacksonville the this throughout training camp for net looks happy motivated set ready to go now will that be the case over the duration the regular season who knows but falls does help I mean Bortles was an absolute zero I and.

"And played off the emotion shorn start last start to the slightly anal polder tightness in the hamstring showman's been a disappointment uniform there's no doubt about it it's not about whether or not they win the games I get that's the importance of it but strong we came here wanting to pitch big games wanted to be a high impact pitcher and as we know in this market place in New York what do you define yourself as you define yourself late in the season and playoffs moments last night was a big moment for Marcus Stroman a left a lot to be desired as Russell take some deep an absolute bomb to right center field as body is goes deep going opposite field and then left searching for answers and anytime Stroman living above the leave the fast ball up in the strike zone Hey don that the movement he's not gonna sorry movement the balls to leave the ballpark exam the balls in the air in your watch a market Stroman on the mound that's a problem what led to the success of the transformation of Stroman as a starter this year was everything was on the ground he was inducing ground ball after ground ball after ground ball it was an efficient starting pitcher and you've not seen that the met uniform any talked a big game when he came here and I thought clearly he was going to be a notch ahead of Stephen mats in the starting rotation and I've been clearly wrong it can't have any more of those type of performances especially when the other guy that you're opposed against a new Darvish is absolutely deal and as this med team we talk about big games and big series as this met team say it's three games over the five hundred mark three games out behind the Chicago Cubs that second wild card spot in the National League tonight's the biggest game up until this point and they'll be more if they are able to rebound following last night's loss and snapped this four game losing streak with a victory tonight but tonight's big game must when they respond with it I mean will they be completely out of it if they lose now they will be completely out of it but the good vibes that if felt after the Cleveland sweep feels like two months ago the Braves came to town should be to be a better baseball team the Mets lack of situational hitting in that series came back to haunt them and then you get to a game last night in which their starter could not go mano a mano and that's what you brought in here for I guess like so you Darvish who's going out there throwing a dominant annex just not good enough and for Callaway now who you know who knows how this season does end up he misses the playoffs he's probably out of a job he makes the point all Steve probably it'll likely coming back it's one thing to lean on veterans but you've also got to go out and play the guys that you believe give you the best opportunity to win and I don't know how you look at Todd Frazier right now ostensibly instead of myself you know what tonight he gives me the best shot to win I just don't see it I got in last night because the defense with the man on the mountain Stroman and the ground balls I get it but the decisions last night have Conforto in center and Frasier a third came back to haunt them it's a little bit not saying that they would have been door version the cubs but would have given him a better shot to win if you had like garrison center and make the author ten seventy million I am just getting going here on this Wednesday midday Marc Millis is with your company alive from the black bear studio delicious black bear deli meats and cheeses are only at my favorite place I love it shop Brighton pro river New York a fantastic spot them a loose is go there on this day in day out basis love shop right great shot a great place to go out there and get all your groceries black bear deli meats fantastic loses just can go and Mets got disco and we'll get into all Yankees player calls as well eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six in for Joe whatever on this Wednesday midday the fan in your I needed new blinds I knew I could save a ton of money if I put them in myself but I was nervous about.
