"On I did a lot of box hits over the last which I usually do to Saturday morning And I'll do Hannity like every other week because it's just a lot going on But this week given how important everything was I felt it was my obligation to go on and use a platform And I said last night I mean we're like we went from the third world to banana republic to now like ten pot dictator stuff And I gave the example at least with proved everybody understood them to be state agit prop you know Like if the Soviet Union the fact that these entities are still pretending to be unbiased law enforcement agents like Christopher wray who just said that at a hearing it's just it's embarrassing it's just laughable at this point What's even more frustrating to me than the liberals who are perverting these agencies and using them to attack their political opponents Frankly even more frustrating than that I just squishes This squishes the squish Republicans who just don't get it who don't see what's happening right now There are actually people and some of whom I even like personally All right I'm not going to name names I don't want to say Tim Scott's name here but Tim Scott He goes on TV And he says he doesn't want to rush to judgment and he wants to let this process play out And I think respectfully we've seen the process play out We're not rushing to judgment at all The DoJ and the FBI in concert with Democrats have been attacking Trump for 6 years now This is I'm sorry 7 years now This has been going on since 2015 They start spying on the Trump campaign to keep them out of office Then he gets into office they use the DoJ illegitimately in concert with Dems to undermine the presidency They try to impeach him twice unsuccessfully They don't manage to kick him out of office Then he finally leaves office after they change all the election rules and what do they do They raid his home for what for the federal records act

The Left Is Desperately Trying to Stop Trump From Being Re-Elected

"As expected, the former president, Donald Trump has invoked the Fifth Amendment in his deposition in this witch hunt over overstating the value of the Trump property. I'll give you the details on that in just a moment. But he also released a very lengthy statement over what the attorney general letitia James is trying to do to him in New York City today. I saw an analyst earlier this morning and said, well, it's not going to be a good look. For Donald Trump, if he invokes the 5th, he pleads the 5th in this civil deposition. It's the only thing he should do. Don't give them anything. Don't listen. He knows he's got teams of lawyers. Who are well equipped to tell him how to navigate this. And if anybody can survive this and very few could, let's be real. Very few people could survive what they're putting him through. And it would be comical if it weren't so horrific for the United States. Two years after he leaves office and suddenly now comes Liz Cheney swooping in in the January 6th, two years. How long do you think it takes? To accuse the president of having documents in his home in Florida, he's not supposed to have. How long do you think it takes to make a case that he talked to some Pennsylvania congressman about January 6th? They're desperately a challenge you. I dare you to tell me that I'm wrong. When I say that they are desperately trying to stop him from being elected by the American people and none of us should tolerate this.

Don't Take Trumpian Threats Lightly Says Malcolm Nance

"You just said don't take these threats lightly. I warned about this exact possibility of arresting indicting Trump launching an armed reaction, and sure enough there they all are over right-wing world, trying to gin up violence. Yeah, you know, one of the places where I see quite a bit of it is the Patriots dot win, which is what we used to be the Donald dot win. And that is some hardcore crazy in that place. And you know, they're saying things maybe not completely openly, but they're couching in Marjorie Taylor Greene language, right? Like this is outrageous. We have to do something. About that. And this is for those of you who haven't seen my book, they want to kill Americans. Well, now you know what they want to kill Americans over. Well, we were saying the number one trending was lock and load. That was the number one trending comment. What is it called, the Donald something? Yeah. It used to be the Donald dot win. Now it's patriots that went. But it's a big ball of crazy. And you know, it's not to be taken lightly at all. I know that, you know, we always come on here and I get all mix shouty and spell out doom and gloom. Well, we're seating the leaves getting edges of this. Now, on the other hand, there is some good rays of sunshine out of this. Not many people actually came to Mar-a-Lago. And actually protested out there. But the ones that did were straight up crazy. Charlie Unpacks the Most Dangerous Provisions of the New Democrat Bill

"I want to start this program by going into what happened over this last weekend. According to NPR dot org, the propagandist publication funded by our taxpayer dollars, Democrats passed a major climate health and tax bill. Here is what is in it. Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer gives the thumbs up as he leaves the Senate chamber after passage of the inflation reduction act. Senate Democrats after weeks of negotiations to revive the core of their election year agenda passed a spending bill, which would attempt to tackle climate change. The high cost of prescription drugs and lower the deficit by roughly $300 billion. So let's go through actually what's in the Bill. This NPR does a pretty poor job of detailing it, but we'll dance around with this, but let's start with this idea of climate change. I have to say, whoever came up with the branding around climate change is brilliant. It's an unbelievably brilliant strategy. You can call it a Trojan horse. You could call it a wolf in sheep's clothing. What's so brilliant about climate change is that you don't have to define it. Is that you have a unspecified fear that you could spend an unlimited amount of money on. Like AOC a $100 trillion. Why stop there? Why not a 130 trillion? You see, climate change is so brilliantly duplicitous. And it's a scheme to make people afraid, but they'll never actually get to the end point. That's what's so brilliant about it. So no matter how much you spend, there might be somebody with a fossil fuel somewhere in Midland, Texas, we need to spend another $100 billion to go find them. You see, if they completely change the economy into a green economy, destroying our energy supremacy, by the way, which is one of the most civilizational suicidal things that we could possibly do, they'll just then create a surveillance state to find out if someone still is using fossil fuels or natural gas, even

Poor Candidate Selection Doesn't Outweigh Broad Trendlines

"So in other words, could Republicans blow 2026 sure. Republicans can always blow things. You can always count on the Republicans to miss every opportunity. This is a thing that Republicans routinely do. But if you are using this to try and chart trendlines on behalf of the Democratic Party, I think that you are going to be sadly mistaken. Over the course of the next few years, because again, the Democratic Party has moved too far left for the mainstream of America right now. And bad and arrogant Republican primary selections of people who are unlikely to win in the general because they get overconfident, and so they nominate AOC candidates in Peter mayor areas. Doing kind of what Democrats have done in some areas where they nominate extreme candidates to fill moderate seats. Again, bad candidate selection does not make up for the broad trendlines in American politics, which are cutting against the Democrats. So don't misread the tea leaves if you are watching this thing and determine that Democrats are therefore likely to achieve parity. Republicans, again, as I said before, Republicans can not regain the Senate. They can regain the house by, say, 15 or 20 seats as opposed to 40 seats. And all of that can be because of mistakes in how they pick their candidates. The trendlines are still the trendlines. So don't make the mistake of thinking that just because Republicans are selecting bad candidates, this spells doom for Republicans down the line.

The Tanking US Economy and Manchin's BIG Mistake

"Okay, we got inflation. We got tons of inflation, and you know what else we have? Even though they don't want to tell you this, even though they're trying to spin this one, you know, does it feel like a recession? Do you feel like you're in a recession? I would say most Americans would say it certainly feels pretty unpleasant. Well, we have now seen two negative quarters of growth, lack of growth, I should say, two quarters of decline that is the textbook definition of a recession, in my expectation, unfortunately, is that it's going to get a whole lot worse. It's going to get worse because if you look at the tea leaves, if you look at the handwriting on the wall or if you pay attention to what some of even the tech companies lately have been telling us, is that there is this slowdown going on. Coupled with this inflation, coupled with the fact that the Federal Reserve is raising rates at a record high rate finally, like finally, all of this is going to have a real drag effect on the overall economy. So what are the brilliant people over in Washington, D.C. decide to do? I'll tell you this. Any respect I had for Joe Manchin, I'm sorry, but what happened? All right, what happened to the guy who seemed to care about not raising taxes at a time when the American people can't handle it? What happened to that? I mean, now he's spend spend spend, I mean, this is money. We don't have guys. I mean, I hate to break it to you, but 30 trillion and counting. We don't have it. So explain the long-term economic fundamentals of this one where you can. It's just a bunch of politicians worried about November thinking well, hey, if we look like we're doing this, maybe we'll be forgiven. We don't want to give the Republicans any ammunition to say that they didn't do anything. Well, the whole idea, guys, is you're not supposed to do anything, okay? This is why private markets tend to work the best when the government gets out of the way, then individuals can make proper decisions.

Dinesh Reviews Senator Chuck Grassley's Revelations About the FBI

"Senator chuck grassley of Iowa has been writing letters to Merrick Garland and to the FBI director Christopher wray and these letters normally I'm not big on letter writing because I'm like a letter is nothing more than a kind of piece of paper that very often these guys are going to just toss into the trash can, big deal and sometimes our side has a tendency to think that if you write a letter, you've somehow done something. No, you haven't done anything. But in this case, we have grassley, who is an influential figure on the, in the Senate judiciary. And so it's the committee that has oversight over the FBI. And writing on judiciary committee letter had grassley makes two points. And both the points have been derived from FBI whistleblowers. These are FBI agents who have come forward and have apparently revealed two interesting things. The first one is that the FBI has been very involved in suppressing, suppressing investigations connected with Hunter Biden and the Biden crime family. So this is very telling that the FBI has been deliberately ignoring evidence and they have been using the fig leaf. In fact, they've been using the pretense that they know to be untrue. That this is Russia and disinformation.

To damian lillard because damian lillard i actually think he might have put up the greatest playoff performance of all time last night. I don't even know if it was playoff performance. I think the words just performance a genuinely think it is. And i actually think that damian lillard performance and this is a to throw the te'o oh right. It's more than you give up. A d is more than they give up for times. What the for james harden. But it's still at be the right move because you saw tonight trae young. Who was for. Twenty eight still made insane impact on the game. And you're gonna play. That's twice as good as him is offering got there. Let me tell you a better one. But ben simmons matisse into i your about that. No no no. I'm just back. On the. If damian lillard becomes available it's not personal it's was same thing going back with harden. Yeah yeah for sure but the thing is once again if you get. Rj mitch jobe and four. I you know it's clear. Your rj mission will be at this point in their careers are still just as good as getting a draft pick. There's just lottery exactly but you're getting seven. I with ben. And i've said this while bender gadget this time all star but but he's not you know you're getting dream Tawdry not doing this right now. He's not gonna win by himself. Yeah i think there's a good chance of that. But i think that there's a really good chance that the sun's pending beating the lakers they kinda can roll through whoever gets thrown in six games so Ah can't bet against him. I can't i mean it's not like he is. He's never won a conference for that. I just can't bet against him in any playoff game in my that. He's the most coach player in the nba. I almost tweeted some really dumb shit last night. like right before performance. I was like. I thought it was dame time. Because he didn't shoot until like two minutes left. And i hit like four threes in the last two minutes. Also thank thank god not to i. We're gonna take a quick break. After the break fans are actually losing their skulls. Kyri garnet. Anything is the Bruins had a legit number one defenseman, who was their captain that the Leafs game, greatest, Morgan, Riley is points-wise. I wouldn't consider him a perennial number one defenseman in this league. I just I wouldn't and I just find it hilarious like this morning. I opened Twitter dead. And J fresh on Twitter tweets. So... Mitch Marner for Seth Jones and it's just and that will help. That'll be the most Maple Leaf shit in the world. Yes, that'd be another young person. Taylor Hall, type type deal. It's like, no, it's the leaves. You, you can go, right? You can believe that's par for the course. So another year, another another first-round exit for the Leafs. There's so much to dissect from it off and it's I feel so bad for the front line workers in Toronto. You know they do their first game, they get to their vaccinated. They're so excited to go see their Leafs play in person. It's like damn, you know, all this work. I get to go watch the Leafs game 7. Well, maybe for them. So have fun with more first-round exits guys cuz there's no way out of that one. I wonder if they do blow it up, though. I do wonder if you know they make some big move to kind of send a message, cuz I mean what do you do? I don't like a dogshit franchise, like the coyotes where it's like, well, he's going to score a bunch of points. The regular season, get tickets for us. So we don't, we could give less of a shit but still it's even if you found a team that would take a guy like that. Yep. Just been done in terms of moving the pieces. That's that's it's been it's been six thousand two hundred fifty one days since the maple leafs have won a playoff series. They haven't won a playoff series since two thousand and four. They haven't won a stanley cup. Since nineteen sixty seven but it's actually way worse than that because the way they lose playoff series are so stupendous. Lee stupefying lee bad that it's like incomprehensible to so the they had eleven years so seventeen years since they wanna play officers. Oh the first eleven years. They just didn't make the playoffs except for once and that one time they made. The playoffs was two thousand thirteen when they gave up a four one lead in the third period with ten minutes left in game seven including two goals when the when the bruins pulled their goalie in under two minutes to go. That's insane then. In two thousand seventeen they were up to one in a series against the capitals. They lost six games two thousand eighteen. They lost in seven games. Two thousand nine hundred and they lost in seven games and then they lost up three one against a team that i think fans like they hate more than any other team in in the canadians. I know that that's bad in two thousand thirteen. They lost the way they lost. I would contend that a no show the way they lost tonight where you like. Get a fucking goal with thirty seconds left to just have something on on the scoresheet doubts that hurts so much worse. And it's not like the leafs have been terrible team this whole time either because they've been good like leafs in the late nineties early. Two thousand had a lot of really good players and there were so fun to watch. That was like the tie domi team when he beat people up that fell into the penalty box would fight everybody on the on the ice. you had. I think darcy tucker is on that team. You had mats dean like they've had a lot of really good players come through toronto and you always think of them as being one of the premier franchises just because they've got like their toronto's team. The blue sweater is wonderful. But they are they actually kinda got screwed by the strike because they had a really good team. I think that's when they they won. Their last playoff series was the year before the strike. They had a good team that they're building on. They got fucked by the strike and then they just haven't done anything at all since then. It's tough our good friend. Paul missed the net said that when they were up three one in this series he would he would get himself circumcised. Yeah he's concise. Dick got sweater and he will circumcise himself or pay for somebody. Circumcise them if they were to lose that series turns out. They lost the series. So hot seat pulled foreskin circumcised. Yeah he's gotta get circumcised. And i looked it up. Actually you have to. You have to wait forty two days before having sex circumcised hikes. New nickname jr nasty. Ooh you can't joseph your circumstance uncircumcised. No you don't come. Oh if you're the foreskin just sit in resorts it. he had just. It goes back in the fall. All right so we got big mad tweets. Read some of the best. These are from li fans. We asked them to write in. We do feel bad for them but misery is the best content. So this one's from luca he said. I wanna cut my face off while getting punched in the groin. Multiple times i. There was a theme to the people. Were trying to relate it to like our own misery. I didn't need that but a couple of them were like Said it's like being packers fan but are often turns into the bears come playoff time. Yeah that's actually a pretty good. Take though yeah. That makes sense. Mike he said. Please don't talk about us on the show. I just threw up at so bad. I'm going to chain smoke darts and hate saves a fucking joke. It's like watching a movie where you know the ending and it sucks but you watch it every year. Fuck fuck fuck. This is actually a pretty good spin zone by the leafs so the leafs texted a statement to their fans. Ooh after the leafs nation. This isn't where we want to say goodbye in her five-month unprecedent journey. The vision was clear. We fell short but we would like to thank the five hundred fifty healthcare workers who represent the true heroes of today. I can't wait to see scotiabank right. That yes oh this yeah. They had a bunch of like What what are they like. first responders nurses paramedics come out and they were in attendance tonight so another choking one of their spin zone is that because they there's still a lot of code restrictions and canada. They didn't have the giant watch party in the town. Yes no video of all the lease fans getting their heartbroken. Yeah good point liam wrote as leafs fans we should collectively choose one shit coined to pump and poor earnings to buy the team. We fire everybody in hire a shaman as a coach no need for hockey knowledge to coach. Lease just enough. Good juju to balance out the curse. I don't know how this guy's name. I'd rather drag my balls through mile broken glass and vinegar than watch. His team. cock-up the playoffs again. I liked that cock-up the playoffs It's like taking one hundred kids to the dick and over and over again This one did this guy. Did the same thing where. Lucy decided that to bring the bears into this. I don't know why it's like if the bears got a top ten quarterback and won. The division was a top five team in the league with a real chance to win the super bowl. But then the double join captains but then you take that feeling and make it every year except this year. It was against the packers Yolks this one. Came from kyle lowry season..

Mike seven games eleven years Paul thirty seconds seventeen years six games Lucy luca six thousand two goals Two thousand nine hundred ten minutes five-month father's day first eleven years tonight three game seven toronto

"They went three one. Yeah i've i've heard guys you know you need the good goaltending right. You have to have a good goaltending of course to win the stanley cup. You don't always have to have it in the first round. You know you can get away with some shit but you can't y when you're up three one stevie was talking to rusty When you're up three one in a series okay. The goal tender's job is done okay. He's done he's done. He's done his deal okay. He's done what you give me the three one. Don't you worry okay. We can't miss right. I mean it's not the first time a teams lost in avesta seven being up three one. But no that's what russ was talking about If you're up three fuck. I mean how can it be right. How bad can it be so he started tonight. They could use them again. One more time. I mean i know what you're saying. The goaltender has done a very good job to get you through the first four games of three one lead. But that doesn't mean. I don't think that you can call it a series either and then tonight to just to give up a goal. The timing of that was just awful. Meanwhile carry price was outstanding. Though the referees didn't want him to be. I guess ready or something. You know the start of a hockey game. The referee brings everybody to center is opening face off of the whole thing and he'll point at one goalie. You ready down there buddy right and then you pointed the other goalie h. E. you ready. Okay let's go and they drop the puck with forgot to do that and carry. Price has got his back to the whole play. The play the game had begun. He's got his gloves on the top of the next and he's looking all of a sudden he whips around like what the game started. And he's got a turnaround. Get his gear on and they're really lucky that That didn't come back to haunt to make it easily ice. The puck and scored right. I would have been. That'd be funny very funny. Very weird very weird for sure. So i carry. Price was excellent again. And i think he's men and a lot of people complain about his big insane long term contract. But that's a guy that if i had to play the olympics right now and i'm gretzky running team canada whoever's running at night forget exactly who's Who's the gm of the club these galardo. I love galardo anyway. I actually think it's armstrong from saint. Louis come not mistake anyway. If i'm that. Gm i'm making carry price team canada's goalie again. Despite his advancing years he was. He was that good in this series. So what's your deal now. Stevie on on montreal going forward here are they. Are they know a saint louis are. They contend to here where where they sneak into the playoffs. They're the lowest ranked team. They were the the least favored to you in the first round for sure right for sure right it was it was wildly lopsided or supposed looking like it was going to be absolutely not to answer your question. Have no chance. Winnipeg jets are extremely well rested and now healed up as well. They've been sitting back with their feet up in the autumn and watching these guys kick the crap out of each other. Remember the jets won in a sweep as you may remember jason anyway montreal. I think they You know i say one point tonight was an shirati. Looked like he was injured in the game and he's been one of their best defenseman montreal's exhausted probably banged up and they're going to be full letdown mode after winning a series like this when there are such underdogs a sort of their many stanley cup and then all of a sudden in a without very much time off. They're going to be asked to get right into the bee's nest of a new series and the jets are sitting there laying in wait. So what do you think. Lee fans are saying. Then steve what what what. What's going on tonight in toronto. What's going on on twitter. Well i can tell you exactly because a buddy of mine is a lee fan. He was like he just he just basically said three words to me it's just demoralizing and he's like i don't know what i don't even know what the logical management response is to that you know i mean maybe martyrs and matthews figure it out some day and run off a couple of cops but right now it's certainly not feeling like it and that's probably a good snapshot of what the average daily fantasy taking the window to me. Let's take a time out of the program when we come back. We're going to give you an update on naomi osaka at the french open. She's actually gone now from the french open. She's walked away from it. She's withdrawn after her media ban that She put out there Going into the events. We'll talk about that and You know ryan reaves. Just of the vegas golden knights. Just another tom wilson scenario He got two game suspension for what he did in game one Between vegas and colorado. So we'll talk about that coming up after these words. Did you know that jim. Kaye ford has been around since eighty to one of the longest running dealerships in ottawa. The k. family proudly strives to provide the best service in the automotive market with the help of their fantastic seem of professionals. They're continually training and improving to ensure you always have the finest buying experience. See what they're all about shop for your next vehicle and make your today at jim. K for dot com four. Thirty eight you vill drive in orleans. Everyone knows that to get the best price on home and auto insurance you have to shop around but who really wants to do that with access to all kinds of insurance markets not only can get you the best price but also make sure that you get full value for your money. Call me under all insurance ontario. Your modern boutique broker. So biggest ford ryan reaves. James was suspended. Two games by the nhl today for roughing unsportsmanlike conduct on a greaves ryan. Reaves ryan graves to say green ryan graves. Anyway that's happened during the seven. One loss in game one of the second round series on sunday and i think the guys actually lucky that he got away with a two gamer like basically ryan reaves is a skirmish in front of the colorado net and puts the full weight of his knee on ryan greaves. Head no no raise grave stuck. He's saying greaves. Wanna say the ryan regan identify at names. Get noisy yeah exactly exactly. And it was ugly and he went to a twice. He had his knees straight on the guys Head neck and then went off for a minute and then the skirmish continued and then fights broke out elsewhere and he took that to mean. I better get my knee. Backup on graves head again and graves his injured. I think he left the game. And just what is this like. It's not the usc buddy. What are you doing and you just. It's another repeat offender. We've talked about it with Nazem kadri we've talked about with tom. Wilson why these guys are continually allowed to do what they do committing. Their mayhem is to me well. You don't they gotta do steve. I'm we've talked about it right. There's a everywhere from and there's some merit to it where And though it's never happened. One of the one of the really good arguments one of the really interesting sides to this thing is they gotta miss at least as much as the guy they injured. Okay right that's that's that's been floated out there for a long time That that's if if if they're not going to do that. In lieu of that. Then steve if they were saying well. We can't do that right. Which which you know some people go. Why not you know if i had the answer if you want okay but but if you want to stop a guy from not only.

"You guys play just like your high on man. It really was only a matter of time. All what a glorious day i'm strutting. I'm crowing celebrating. I'm busting jerry. I'm boston james tonight. Hang on. I want to do it. I to live blues rock close. I mean remember the national media season. They're out there pretending to be objective but in reality tongue bathing the blue team at every turn they keep asking like these slobbering bull terriers. Is this the the year for the leafs. Finally all the pieces are in place. Is this the year. And i don't know if you mean is the leaves year to lose to the lowest ranked playoff team in round one. You amine. It's the leafs year to blow a three one series. Lead is at the year the leave suck ass again. Yes yes it is all those things. You don't feel sorry for them at all. Steve a little bit. no nothing. maybe. I've got a couple of reasonable leaf fans. I feel kind of badly for them but No no it says because because of what the media does and what lee fans due in their here in ottawa. I have a hard time feeling any sympathy whatsoever. It's it's in my nature really well. It's it's fun you know it's fun right. Of course right i. it's sorta the gentle ribbing happens fan. I am beliefs in helped win. The peds lose although in my neighborhood. Cvs always driving around. There's a couple sitting in their driveway. It's beautiful here today. Nice weather it's going to be nice. All we nice guy. They've got the television out okay. And they're eating dinner and they've got the game on okay so the fun thing so i stopped. What's up. you know. I go up out of the car. Watch a bit of it there. The guy goes What's the score at. At that point it was one. Nothing okay one zip and a cheering for him. The guy's frenchaccent halves again cheering for the apps and his wife's there and i go you who you cheering for the leafs right. I said okay okay. That's my and the husband goes. But but i don't know why you're cheering for the leafs. She says fuck you. Oh wow gonna little stevie. He got a little heated with the couple. Okay i thought this whole thing's supposed to be sort of a deal. I guess right you live in edmonton. You know you've got. The little leafs. Halves rivalry gone might might be grounds for an old man. Steve maybe in the ad inside that is going to be a very romantic ending to the evening. I don't think Somebody is sleeping on the couch one or the other and the other one had party favors going on whooping it up. Yeah there's there's rabid fans out there stevie leads nor will ever compare certainly in this country of course right the they'll be nothing. Nothing will ever be like. Nothing will ever replace it. No rivalry nothing nothing. I can't think of anything. Steve any sport in our country. And you know you don't travel very often the states but i have and You know the leafs fans irs like there's a million more than that more than a million canadians who live in la. You know right right. Who's who are who are hockey fans but anyway it's it's it's a great rivalry now. It's divided the nation really. I mean what's funny though is that they've really not met very often. This is only the third time since nineteen sixty seven. I guess They've actually met. They met a couple of times in the late seventies. And then this year and it's kind of weird when you think about it because like for most of the nhl is history started in nineteen seventeen. And they're only four teams so for the most part through the entire first fifty years of the nhl history. There were only four to six teams. It was a very small league reizo. The lifson has represented a third of the league and yet they only have met in a hundred and four years sixteen times. Oh it back in that day. Oh yeah sixteen. Times total in the history of the nhl. So it's kinda weird they they haven't gotten together more frequently than they have. And so i think that's a little something something to it. Not only is it a great first round upset for the montreal canadians but it's against a a very good team and for older fans in particular who used to watch one of those teams every single saturday night when that was all you really had to watch. It had kind of a special feel to this year. Well i'll tell you what else is unique. Which makes it unique for. Sure i've had the i had last night. I was watching television and a local newscast. Now the oilers are out. Of course. So i don't know if they're glomming onto try and create stories but i think they would have done this anyways even if the orders were in there they had a whole they had. They had a fifteen minute piece on lifson halves fans in edmond. Ok like the on the street. You know showing people's houses. How their decorating is this is. This is kind of crazy. The old leaf the leaf sent thing so yeah like like a full on full on ten minutes stevie on the news last night i loved the least in the house with a history of it and all this stuff so there you have it. How do they loose tv. Leave people so they let fans into the game which was weird. We knew that In game six montreal had twenty five hundred fans in quebec seems to be a little more relaxed. I guess when it comes to shutdown stuff but out of the blue earlier today because we're recording this on the game day itself and They actually had a deal where they let five hundred fifty fans into the game and it was was they let all the All the frontline workers although the nurses and doctors and all the usual suspects who helped us through cova here and the gag online was got having those poor people had enough. All sure senegalese game. Now dare you anyway. It was a it was a kind of neat to see everybody there and and it just makes the game to have fans in the stands couple of notes on the game itself. I honestly thought that you got crap that really set the leaves back. I that gallagher goal jack. Campbell is pretty good for the leafs through this whole series but there was a couple of glitchy moments and that was exactly the wrong time. I mean the lease of already got the whole world of pressure on their shoulders given their history given the constantly being talked to about the this rivalry in the and this this long drought. They're on and they're in game seven. They've blown the last two games right and all the pressure was already on them. The last thing they needed was to be chasing the game and giving up the first goal and really starting to doubt themselves and that was a garbage goal. By brennan gallagher. No basically steps over the toronto blue line so he's a right shot. If you can picture that you're a right. Shot going on the left wing over the blue line. And so basically you're you got no leverage for the most part you get an all from the shaft of your stick and it takes a snapshot on the ice somehow. Some way beat jack campbell and that made it one. Nothing montreal in. They really didn't look.

"Brand we know it's An incredibly busy time of year or not just in toronto but around the national league so we really appreciate you taking the time to join us here on the podcast extras. Thanks read all right. Thanks again to the president of the toronto. Maple leaves brendan shanahan throat. Punch not a big challenge. This week you know. I i i feel as the hockey gets going then. Obviously more game specific throat punching candidates for. You're going to emerge but renew at all surprised. Because i was at how much reaction there is been do the national hockey league selling ads particularly the helmet ads. I don't i don't. I don't understand why people care i don't care if there's an ad on the ellen or not that is my throat punch to the people that are complaining about this because in anything you do was advertising it so why can't the nhl advertise on their most notable product. Which is the players. So people always send. Oh yeah it's going to end up like this. Where the european teams have ads. All over their sweaters and pants and socks. I told you and i spoken about this. I went to the game and berlin last year landed was playing there right. Nobody looked like they weren't having a good time. That was the best game atmosphere. I'd been at in a long time. Remember back in the day. Because i was playing. I hate saying that. Jesus back in the day down anyway. There were no ads on the boards and when they put the first few ads on we were like. That's ridiculous those save never last. Now you're like you don't even notice them unless you see it in its advertising. What about the four places on the ice where the ads are what. I can't believe they haven't done. Why isn't there ads in the faceoff circles. That to me makes sense because everybody's stopped. You're not skating across the ad right where you might only catch a.

"Shani's you know as an insatiable appetite when it comes to hockey and in this case the brand and the toronto maple leafs in general. Is there a misconception out. There that are kalu buses general manager sheldon keefe as head coach. The toronto maple leafs. They want skilled players but brendan shanahan and he came up to the old school of hard knocks one year stanley cups with different teams. You described in detroit but that you advocate for toughness. is that a bit of a misconception. I would say it's probably a misconception. That that kyle. Sheldon don't also advocate for toughness sin and intangibles. And i remember the first you know for some i met kyle and in. I was seeing what he was building. Sault saint marie Obviously then what he did for the trauma rallies all of their teams if you look at the players that played on on those teams in the su- If you look at those teams have played for the marlies they. They had a real nice balance of of of really skilled players. Which which you need It also toughness physicality Intangibles and And i think it's important. Say like you know. Sometimes toughness is about showing up for battle sticking together as a team But but i'd also say that. I can think of lots of players hockey. That maybe have never had a fight in their careers. That are incredibly tough. And resilient in gritty and by the way champions with multiple rings so I think sometimes there's an argument that sort of going on in hockey. Maybe it's going on all in all sports this sort of like analytics versus old school I was curious about when. I first got hired. I tried to figure it out. I didn't really understand what the flight was about I've got less time for that argument. Now it's it's to me. It's it's information. And i think some people will will take a manager that that is considered to have top teams. They'll say oh he doesn't care about skill that's not true Then you'll take a manager that has a background in analytics. Say oh he doesn't care about toughness he only wants skill. That's not true either. I think if you if you wanna know what how we think as an organization i think we we want to have a balance we If look at some of the moves that kyle is done over the last two years once we establish that core of talented young players bringing in a guy like buzzing bringing in a guy like clifford. signing veterans. We've always. we've always had a guy like a polack but gauchan now like big tough guys that can sort of be big leaders in the dressing room. There's always been a value to it but until you win it's not going to really be recognized so we're all trying to do the same thing in the nhl all to win And you know. But i think that that's important to state that that you know. I said an interview recently like i. I've lost my appetite. Not nothing ever had navigate for getting carried off in stretchers. But i don't i don't really enjoy watching guys You know i think my time specially at the league. And as i got a little bit older my time league and Learning about headshots and illegal checks the head like that's not something we thought about In the eighties and nineties. But there's been an awakening there. And i think that a disdain for sort of those illegal plays Is sort of is just something that that everyone in management recognizes now More so than we did in the past but.

"I mean that gets our attention and it creates more of the buzz reynard talking earlier in the podcast about the influence of the graybeards of the trial. May maybe even around the league a little bit and lyon matters. You've got jumbo. Wayne simmons bogosian. You mentioned jason spencer. How involved were you in that process of maybe dates back to acquire jake muslim where you recognize. Look we're still a young team are young so bring in these experienced guys now like joe forton could and probably will make a pretty big difference. I mean there's there's you describe young a bunch of different ways and some people would just use young as an excuse or or a bit of a crutch and to me That's not what this is about anytime you can like. I am foremost you've got to be able to play because it doesn't matter Who you are what your name is like. If you don't feel like you're contributing to the team in your corner of the team you get kleiner you get quite in the dressing room. You'll get quieter on the ice. So so we all recognize that that you have to have an important role and you have to feel good about your game to have a presence. In to have an impact on the mariners into matthews and in the young players in our organization that are still maybe not even in our lineup. Maybe not even making the leafs but get to see what these guys doing the gym every day. And get to see what these guys do. Practice every day So it's incredibly important. What what i would say to. Everyone is You know we we believe in balance. And i think that you're constantly seeking that out just the nature of the way that you build things in that you build. Nhl teams You don't always have the balance that you're seeking Like instantly and so. I think that You know constantly trying to move you're constantly trying to improve You're constantly trying to make your team better Other teams are are trying to be better than you trying to knock you a knock you down and and that's the nature of the competition. But i think that you know everything we did in this offseason Was meant to do to add more balance and get make ourselves a team. That not only. We've we've had some or some regular season success and we haven't had the kind of playoff success that we now think that we're capable of. I think that it's just trying to get over that hump get to that next level and you know the players that we've drafted developed Are great players and they want it. They love being maple leafs They you know. I've seen not only one difference. I've really seen here as a lot of ontario guys wanting to come home wanting to play for the leafs Wanting to be a part of that. So that's exciting. But ultimately everything gets decided on on.

"Joining us on the rain rigs hockey podcasts and shannon aiming regular season about to kick off six months no hockey. That's a long time for the players longtime for the staff. But i mean has to be a long time for you as well so will you must be looking forward to get things going again for. Sure i think. I think we're all not just us but society but you know in hockey mer discombobulated I know for for lifetime. Since i was a little kid. You know when. I talk about years or seasons. I they always. They don't necessarily start from january and in december thirty first. To your the way you remember years are oriented agassi's you know which usually start around september and and go till whenever the season ends and you get your summer your off season in lays at that that someday gets ingredient in us when we're takes and in pee wee's So it's it's been weird once in a while to be a training camp environment in pop your head up and look at a calendar and see that it's january or that you're playing hockey at august But we're all adapting. And i guess that's what that's that's the whole world is doing right now trying to adapt and figure things out. Try to get through this. Get through this time. When you know when the first lockout occurred channy we were playing and we all talked about how contacted the schedule was and how tough it was going to be and then it just kind of became what we did like. That just became the season right now. It seems like wednesday should be should be an exhibition game yet. It's a real game. And so how do you. How do you guys get ready that sprint and then you just have to kick it off like it's happening now. While we we ask our players to constantly be in in a state of an ability to read and react and adapt. You know your everybody has a game plan. It's like the boxing like everyone has a plan to they get punched in the face And it's it's the same in hockey you have a plan but you have opponents in. They're talented in the good coach. In good scouting. You're always having to learn to read and react in. And i think going into the season Aside from a first off some of the feedback that i think the league got from players after the bubble situation was that they didn't need as many exhibition games as they thought to get prepared for competitive intense hockey So so that was sort of an interesting perspective Talked to a guy like jason spasm who is a veteran now like he probably wanted four five exhibition games.

"And so his his age. Probably you can multiply it forward a little bit now however vancouver had myers hughes schmidt adler and then jamie benn and a free untested totally untested players like. How is that going to work. It's not and so they get hammock in there and now you've got hammock to play with us right. That's nate schmidt's a good player so really good. Gifted is a great word that they were gifted. So now you've got schmidt playing with adler and now you know in some form. And then you've got myers with probably lady their first round pick from a few years ago who seems to have come around the corner injury wise and play wise. Now you look at the blue light and you go man. I could see that this was a good signing for them. Now i don't know drags you know this like. They can't make it official till they put. Michael furlan lt. I correct correct. And that's the league has stepped in on that too by the way right frank. Seravalli was doing some reporting on social media and whatnot. Where they're saying okay. You need to disclose us and you need to file that contract otherwise roster that you have today is the one that you're going to work with Because it is a form of cap circumvention. Right and i believe. That's why the saint louis blues did what they did in announcing hoffman. So again as we're recording this. Maybe it will be announced when people are listening. Furlan has been placed on lt. Ira that's the wiggle room for. Jim banning in the to make the one year deal. Travis helmet worked. It looks like eriksson is going to be either on a taxi squad. Or i guess that's where he'll be so a million dollars comes off to cap one point seven five. That's a you know. That's ed pebble in the shoe of cannock fans out here. That's for sure is that and they're just you know they've seen enough of of what didn't work but they're still got you know they still got some clogs in the salary cap there but this this whole division is going to is going to be a bit of a scramble and i think we all know it's gonna be really interesting but vancouver's okay i i don't think they're calgary. I don't think they're toronto. I don't think they're montreal. But i think they're in that group with edmonton winnipeg. And kinda you know. It's a in my opinion. It's going to be three team scuffle to see who gets in you mentioned. We had a brief conversation with corey. Perry and fully fits into that category too. But i call it the collection graybeards right and it seems like veteran players players was down in cup experience just experienced period of always mattered. So let's let's twist this in a different way. But i look at what the toronto maple leafs have done. Here and man. I'm intrigued by it. I am and i think this goes back to the jake. Muhsin trade with the la kings where they went. Okay we're acquiring this piece and then they realize okay. Muslims pretty good defense than but manny's good and he's good in the bench. He's good with the media and you know they'd special there again The experience factor they bring in jumbo joe thornton and they bring in wayne simmons. So now it's become more than two incidents or just trying to mix things up a little bit right..

"The Leafs two to one and regulations of the lightning's magic number stays at thirteen points for clinching a playoff berth but it's still a big lead they have eleven point lead on the Leafs right now and they have a fourteen point lead on the Florida Panthers and when they reach if when they reach a point where the Panthers for the Leafs if the Panthers overtake the least cannot catch the lightning mathematically the lightning will have clinched a playoff berth it's also possible that if the Panthers at least get extremely hot to win the wild card teams will reach a point that it can't reach the lightning a lighting will be secured a spot in the top eight but these have more work to do it's it's not a foregone conclusion yet but they have twelve games left seven at home five on the road after this loss to Toronto let's bring in regular Elian Greg about what two hours and forty five minutes ago we were having this conversation about the intensity level or the desperation urgency level and I was wondering if the lightning we're going to be able to match what you figure was going to be a very high urgency level from Toronto given their place in the standings and they're tough road trip out in California in the it's in the first period was no but after that the answer was yes and unfortunately for them they gave up a couple of power play goals and cost themselves a chance to get some points out of this game you mentioned David anything special teams this probably will look back and say that was maybe the difference in this game I thought Frederick Anderson to his credit was really good you know he was the guy that had been a bit up and down this year and was talking to couple Toronto people on my show and and they felt like he needed to really be big not only tonight but from here on out I thought he was really good so kudos to him from that standpoint but you know the first period wasn't great and you know Eric and I were talking about it Dave in that intermission maybe a little deflating to I know you did as well with their Kalani maybe that was something that you felt like if Tampa Bay got one maybe Serrano would you know kinda wilt a bit but they didn't and to your point special teams though was was the big difference in this game I don't want to over analyze it too too much you know they were a bit better and they needed this one a lot more so give credit them brining mom and I talked in the pregame you wear that interview and I asked his opinion on where the lightning's game was that they are not at the point that they were for much of January and February when they went on that twenty three two in one stretch in terms of their team defense but if you're gonna get out competed you're gonna have a hard time so let's let's throw the first period out the window and and look at the rest of the game once their compete level matched where the Leafs were and I think five one five they did a pretty good job tonight and I guess moving forward you know we're gonna have to see you're only as good as your last game I think generally over these last few games understanding like circumstances played a role certainly in in the Detroit game with the the travel and all of that I think there five on five game is coming along where I am seeing areas of concern though is the penalty kill so the penalty kill had gone seven straight games where they allowed at least one goal in all seven and an all the allowed ten power play goals over seven game stretch then they strung together two games where they went three for three three for three against Boston to Montreal the homestand but they allowed power play goals in all three games on this trip and there there have been some some leaky play I mean no other way to put it where whether they're losing faceoffs are not getting pucks down the a store on the Matthews game winning goal that was a coverage issue and I do think especially if the C. Toronto in the first round now try was scored four power play goals in the last two games against them they need to they need to tighten that back up to where it was when they were on that hot streak that to me is the bigger concern than any kind of five on five play that I'm seeing yeah and you know times Coleman and growth look really good together ands you know maybe this is a situation where you know those guys the more they play with one another they'll feel a little bit more comfortable I always feel like two special teams David go in spurts and so you want to see Tampa Bay may be tied up for the stretch run maybe a good stretch of PK is going to be happening here moving forward but I think a lot of it too is you know the faceoffs what you do before the faceoffs and being smart as you mentioned with the Matthews will there is a break down so the good news is I think it's correctable of course the best way to stay away from that is not taking the penalties and you know come playoff time zero know how officiating is going to be right now once you get all that and you bring up a good point I I I think I'd mentioned in the lighting our in the top three for most time short handed and that is an area they want to improve this year yet that's going in the wrong direction they were shorthanded five more times tonight that needs to change for sure because that's something that they've been preaching and it's probably the one area where they've come up a bit short this year when you talk about everything they've tried to accomplish from training camp on so it's easier said than done for sure but if they can limit baths and be a little bit more discipline takes a lot of pressure off of your penalty killers in addition to vast Leschi yeah exactly now I didn't want to end on a down note I thought the lightning do deserve credit for for pushing back against a desperate team as they did in the second and the third and the power play conversely didn't score of eight nine shots and they had scored a power play goal in three straight games coming into this game so while the penalty kill lighting is leaking a little bit of oil to me I can see the power play particularly as they just a life without stamp goes in the immediate future through the end of the regular season certainly they're finding ways to to get some looks and I think that's a positive side so for me all in on that let you kind of give me your thoughts on that little side off you know it's a good point and sometimes when you take a player like Stamkos out maybe you can simplify things a bit you know we've seen circuits have have maybe a little bit more of a shoot first mentality because of his abilities to do that getting the pucks on that junk ever talk about this couple days ago it's been a little bit of a weakness for them this year in terms of getting blocked or missing than that but they can simplify that a little bit more obviously having Victor Hedman nominal you know not the lab that that hurts as well but I'm not too concerned about their power play because I think there is enough talent there to understand if it's the perfect place not there we can simplify it and we see enough games this year were just getting the puck on net can be beneficial but you know it's your point came up a bit short tonight but I I think that's something they'll continue to improve on even listing of coson had been nonaligned up right now all right Greg C. Thursday fires by the way no longer winning streak so that he can be seen the lightning looking to end a losing skid as they lost to Boston tonight no of the the out of town scores as well all right that'll do it for me thinks that waterfall tonight's broadcast Morgan lashed back at the lady reading over studios Paul gatt along side me here in Toronto for Greg when Elian error Kurland said this is Dave Mishkin saying so long from Toronto final score tonight it was the maple Leafs too and the lightning one goodnight.

"John Wiedeman eastern where they can go for a sweep up the road trip and the maple Leafs in the season series rocks of one six of their last seven on the road and they want to keep that going against the least team that should be very offensive here tonight hi again everyone John White along with Troy Murray we are here at the Scotiabank arena in Toronto Ontario Canada Chris Botha standing by a black **** center we want to welcome you to our broadcaster tonight's the Blackhawks and the Toronto Maple Leafs in what's at stake for both teams well a lot if the Blackhawks can take the wind out of Toronto tonight and head home and take on the Winnipeg Jets they have an opportunity to tie the jets for the night spot in the Western Conference you may be able to see that playoff position they seek so so well in Seoul so long much more cleaner let's just say so for the maple Leafs they have a they have been through some winning ways in some losing ways they want to keep they want to get back in the win column I should say their last game they lost to the Calgary flames they want to take advantage of home ice here tonight before their break and get back into the one called try so I think there's a fair amount at stake for both teams but to me this is more of a game where the Blackhawks need to take advantage if you look at Chicago three games in the next four nights before they get the break if they can find a way to get six points they are going to be in a real good spot coming out of the brakes if they lose all three.

"It's so easy to look at it and say while they're gonna change the goaltender right Riddick. Split time with Smith during the course of the year. There was legitimate questions on whether Smith should've been the starting goaltender for the flames. So this would be the perfect opportunity after getting crushed sixty two being down to one of the series to go to Riddick. I say no because I look at the first three games of the series. I don't fault Smith. He was outstanding in game. One. He faced fifty six shots last night. He made fifty saves fifty. There's nothing wrong with the goaltending. It's the play in front of them. I mean this to be a solid defensive team Calgary you give fifty six shots. That's ridiculous. And you look at the goals would Smith supposed to do. New MacKinnon was on fire may car goes right off a UMass within a whisker of winning national championship wins the hobey Baker award plops in his first ever playoff game. I ever game in the NHL. He scores a gold three nothing. It's four nothing in the second period. And I don't think any of the goals were necessarily Smith's fall. So the knee jerk reaction to go Riddick. And maybe that's what the flames do. But I'd say stay with. He's been the best part of the flames game so far in these playoffs. He really has. You telling me Riddick would save the day yesterday when he's going to have to face fifty six shots. No way. And how about this disturbing stat flames one sixty one percent of the faceoff, but they could control the puck. Flames had more hits. But you know, what the avalanche finish McKinnon's just a flat-out star. He was just been sick. And and of course, taking penalties. Eight power plays for the avalanche ridiculous ridiculous to blame Smith when your team's committing eight penalties where the star scoring some goals here grow shutdown again, he was minus three. So the knee jerk could be go at Riddick. And maybe that's what they do. I don't I stay with Smith another game. Now, if they lose him go down three one if you wanna make the change just out of desperation to say, hey, we gotta change something. We're facing on the nation. Maybe Riddick gives the bit of spark that's fine because you're desperate because now you're facing elimination. But to one down, I'm not gonna panic. I mean Smith been the best part of the flames game here. They can get square through game four tied at two. And then you get home ice advantage for what in effect becomes a three-game series. That's what I'm doing. I'm not gonna change goaltender. I think that would be ridiculous. All right here. The four games tonight. It's hard to believe I'm gonna say this but the Tampa Bay Lightning facing elimination Columbus again. The blue jackets, and you know, it's easy to say the lightning to win this game going away because they just can't possibly get swept. All right. I can buy that. But I couldn't imagine they'd be down three games to none. I thought game two. There were an easy bet after they blew the three nothing lead and the three one lead going into the third period that they would crush the blue jackets Tampa game to didn't do it. Oh, well, then of course, they're going to go to Columbus member. Columbus at the two nothing series lead on Washington winning both games in DC last year only to squander it away with home ice last season. Losing those games in Columbus? Eventually losing the series in six games, you figure the same thing's going to happen. But then the blue jackets went again. I don't know what state Tampa's in right now. I mean, I don't know how they feel about their game..

"And they were not shut out all asked you're in the postseason and the thing with the hurricanes is that you knew they were going to push back at home. They are a team that's played berry well on home ice. And I didn't think they were gonna go away. They lose game to overtime. They fought back from three nothing down three two in game one, and they get home that little bit of an advantage was was a big help. But you know, the big thing is special call fighting Ovechkin which probably isn't the smartest thing to do. And he got it. Right. And a chin gets knocked out. But look how the team was inspired. I think they were outshot thirty to eight the rest of the way after the fight because nineteen year olds going after one of the best players in the NHL. Even though he got knocked on his fanny the fact is that he did it. He defended his teammates. I guess Ovechkin got into it with slave and a little bit early on the game that kinda got everybody going in the right direction as far as the physicality was concerned. But the fact that even though he didn't push back by getting knocked out the fact that he went and danced with the best in the league and animals to tougher -fession golf to do. Ovechkin felt bad about it after the game. That knocked them out. Everybody did what they had to do before nineteen year old to do that going against an icon. I think really spurred the hurricanes on the rest of the way and really the third period was flat out disturbing. When you consider the fact that for the majority of the third period, the capitals didn't even get a shot on goal, which is ridiculous and the secondary and tertiary scoring shoes. No, Otto notaire vein who is it. It's fogel. It's hamilton. That's when you know, you're gonna be winning some playoff games McGinn had a great goal to in this game. So you get four five goals on the night. But you don't get a stall goal. You. Don't get a special cough, coal, obviously. Because it got punched in the face. So it wasn't like you were carried by your superstars. But the secondary scoring tertiary scoring. That's what's gonna really help the wash the the hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals. So that was pretty big so nice win for Carolina. And also they they went up to the blue line. You kind of maybe they're gonna charge towards the the the wall to the glass and do that celebration. We were kind of thinking how would they handle their first playoff win? In ten years. And they do the things that they did the history onyx that we saw in the regular season. They didn't do that. Because I don't think there's a place for it in the postseason just because you gotta play the same team. Again, you're down to one in the series. So wasn't like really accomplished anything. Maybe they'll do it after they win the series if they shake hands with the capitals, and they move on to the second round the capital's go back to the dressing room, if they want to celebrate in that way, it just awkward to do it within the confines of the series. So I was curious to see what the hurricanes with do. I actually stayed with the game to say and the hurricane celebrated just as any normal team would went to the blue line raised their sticks to the fans, and I was probably the right thing to do. I think Washington is fine. But it was a huge statement by Carolina for sure we'll see what happens in game for back in Raleigh predators. Three to him. Over the Dallas Stars the big moment in this game was pack arena and a huge save on Jamie band late. When looked like that was going to be the stars game winning goal was tied at two stars fight back to tie it after the predators. Scored the first two goals of the game. And it looked like they were in solid control in this game three. And again, we talk about getting scoring from somebody other than your top line. Gremaldi gets his second of the postseason was huge fours. Berg lights, the lamp he of course of frontline players. So you kind of get it both ways there, but a huge goal by zuccarello late in in period. Number two..

"That game misconduct podcast with Don league-record and welcome to the Tuesday edition of game is conduct. I am the Greg. Let's get right to it. Major trade the NHL last night Muhsin goes from Los Angeles to the Maple Leafs. And we've talked about it plenty of times drop the wants to make a serious run at a Stanley Cup. They had to improve their defense more. Specifically, a stay at home defenceman. We'll Muslim comes in. It's got twenty one points on the season. He's not slouches far as offenses concern, you know, play on top pairing with Riley. So there's a lot of production that that defensive units gonna give you, but they've gotta find somebody outside of Ron Hansie who's thirty seven years old that could be a guy that could stand up forwards at the blue line that can go after the best forward on the other team, matchup wise. I mean, they were gonna lose every match of Toronto in the playoffs. It gets really good team because they didn't have anybody to go up against you know, the top line for Boston team. They're likely going to play in the first round. How do you stop Sidney Crosby of getting Malik? And how do you stop Alexander Ovechkin and nNcholas Backstrom? How do you stop stamkos and kucherov? If you wanna make run to the Stanley Cup final. So I'm not saying that Muhsin cures all ills. But it makes a lot of sense now first round pick and some prospects. That's pretty juicy but Muslims under contract through next year. It's a management deal as far as the cap is concerned a four point six million dollars. And I'm sure the Toronto will consider after the nineteen twenty season. Whether they want to bring. Him back. We'll see where the calorie salary cap structure is going to be and what ends up happening with some of their free agents. But it's not like, it's a rental. You have them for a run this year and next year and may have the wherewithal to keep him around Muslim. Of course was part of to Stanley Cup championships with the Los Angeles Kings. So he's been there. He's done that. These are the types of moves teams have to make now on the surface. When you think about defense been that I want to make a run I'm not sure Jake Muhsin was on like the top list of fans out there who said that's going to be the difference between winning Stanley Cup or not. But certainly he had been on the radar of many general managers around the league Toronto makes the move. And now they've improved themselves with the acquisition of Taveras during the off season which bolstered their offense big time and has allowed them to fight through some of the injuries. They've had with Matthews with the holdout of Neil Lander. And now they get themselves study defenseman the acquisition of Hanes. He was also a good one last year. So you sprinkle in the offense with sites with Riley with Gardner, and now you've got. To stay at home guys. But Muslim as I said could produce some offense in any given year this guy that can give you forty fifty points on on Toronto. This is a guy that can be a stay at home defenseman that could score north of fifty points on this team. So I think the acquisition was good. We've seen in recent years that the trade deadline is just a mere suggestion that it seems like a lot of deals get done way before the deadline. So even before we get into February. We're seeing these deals get done so slightly under a month before the deadline Toronto, they sound the bell. I and now we'll see who else. Decides to follow will Boston trying to make a move now to try to keep up with Toronto to try to get that home ice advantage in the first round who else in the Eastern Conference is gonna make a deal. What's Pittsburgh going to do another loss for the penguins last night? They cannot beat the devils on a bet six Owen one New Jersey against Pittsburgh over the last couple of years, including all three meetings this year being devil wins. So just it's crazy that the devils a team. That listen last year. I guess it makes sense because they were a playoff team. But the doubles do not look like a playoff team this year and still own a playoff team. But this Pittsburgh think about making move to solidify a plow spot. What is Washington do as they seem to be in free fall?.
