So this this story is just particularly disturbing. There's no other way to put it NYPD morning. Police officers about a possible threat from MS thirteen gang, particularly when they're off duty. That's the thing. All right CBS's stick Brennan likes to ski deck. Nice guy reports that in a bulletin that the NYPD put out this alert quoting members of MS thirteen are looking to hit NYPD police officers specifically in the Brentwood central Islip area as well in other parts of Long Island as well. A patch ach. So the bulletin says that the gang members would carry out the attack on off duty officers in order to gain street cred. So this could almost be like an initiation type of thing. They want a big fish like craft because he apparently a driver drove up in a Bentley a blue Bentley which doesn't stand out at. All right. Maybe they saw that. So they'd set up. They had set up the sting basically on this place, and they weren't just after craft. They were distinct to try to get as many people as they could. And so what people have said our callers amongst them. Couldn't this be law enforcement entrapment because they kind of set this up for a long time. Why didn't they just take this down when the first couple of people came they didn't need to keep it ongoing. Good point. And my point is that that is kind of what happens in sting operations is they keep them going for a long time to get more and more people and the net just gets wider and wider and wider. And then this case it you could say qat trap. You dare defense lawyers are going to say entrapped craft. But I do not think that is going to get him off. Do you think that when craft was arrested Ryan, or when you know, he learned to this? Do you think he told the authorities? I'm really rich and just baby tried to bribe him in some capacity is that's what I would have done that's conscious on my gosh. When you get when you when you get arrested, please. At this point. We're already already passed if. Do you think the thirty nine year old girlfriend of Kratz? He's seventy seven right will use this now as an excuse to get out of this, probably painful relationship. I don't you. Right. Wouldn't you just assume this is your excuse to get three point three billion dollars? Right. Fifty percent. No recess. They have that this girlfriend. They're not married that sucks. That's right. He's widowed. Yeah. So he's pretty cute. Just use the excuse like, I'm not ready to do that again. I would do. The show where to athletes artists entrepreneurs visionaries of all kinds about their successes and their failures. And what they went from both. Just a quick note at the top. There is some light cursing in this episode. Launching something new takes faith, faith that the new thing you're launching is something the world needs that it's calling for hungry for and faith that you in particular are the one to deliver it on today's show. I'm talking to some people who helped launch something based on that kind of faith. My name is Pierre Sutton. I'm kisha Sutton, James. And and how are you guys related? I am his firstborn child by twenty five years. Wow. It is true. She was my first and favorite for for very long time. The venture peer helped launch and kisha later helped him build required making a bet to that's actually the first bed that there was an audience for the thing that we're launching and the second bed that he brand new and completely untested technology would help them reach that audience and the story of Pierre and kisha venture. And how it played a hand in the creation of so much that we see in here in culture today. It starts back with peers father, Percy Sutton, who was a prominent figure in the civil rights movement in nineteen sixties New York. I'm reminded it was every other negro must be in New York. We're not pretty. I'm also reminded that as long as a doors close to bins waiting. This is Mark Cullet and Jackson Mississippi. I'm not fee to go into Grand Central station in New York City Percy was a former Tuskegee airmen, a businessman, a lawyer, he represented, Malcolm X, and a politician. He was the Manhattan borough president for twelve years, which at the time made him the highest ranking black politician in the entire state of New York. And according to peer Percy was always looking for ways to elevate black voices in the community. He already owned a small newspaper, but one day Percy learned of an opportunity to buy a local radio station, an AM station with the call letters w l I b. It was a soul station. I like to say that black radio was the radio station at the end of the dial at the end of the dial. I means it's a weak signal and people who couldn't figure out what to do with radio stations decided that they would play soul music or race music because they couldn't figure out what else to do with go station. That was the term called race music. That's right music and beer says owners of these stations didn't believe the black audiences had spending power. So the owners didn't invest that many resources trying to reach a black audience. Wwl was so small it didn't even broadcast fulltime. It went off the air in the evening. And if you tuned in late at night, looking for soul music, you'd hear instead the bleed from this huge SuperStation out in the mid west W O W O who signal was so powerful. It would colonize other available frequencies on the amd dial, including W L A B at night. When would off the air, you could hear former equipment being sold. Out in Fort, Wayne, Indiana, but the Percy set in this tiny part time radio station represented something they represented the idea of putting a black radio station in the hands of black ownership to buy the station would cost Percy one point nine million dollars. So we started raise money he kept prominent community members from his circle, a group of black doctors lawyers preachers teachers, and they ended up investing over three hundred thousand dollars, but that's still wouldn't cover the asking price. So they had to get a Bank loan for the rest, which group of black business and community leaders. Nineteen seventy-one wasn't simple. We went to sixty three banks to raise the money in the refuse in. Finally, we got into you with Chemical Bank, which is long gone.

"So those really cool. So let's go right into my favorite part of the show or one of my favorite parts this show where I just go ahead and say. My voice was funny. And I say go hack yourself. In Jayson here. He'd say something, but I'm not gonna say it for 'cause that'd be just weird. So anyhow, here's my go hack yourself. I am listening to a new podcast or actually I finished listening to it. Because I've been listened to it. I always thought to myself, okay, podcasts or better when you have to listen to more time. But you know, what I'm not. So sure about that. I don't think there are any dental podcasts that are that are necessarily appropriate for binge listening. But I swear I think I might some day I'm gonna make different kinds of podcasts and make one where we released five episodes of some crazy story at once. I because that's a great way to listen to podcast. It's almost like having a full on. Audiobook anyhow this. It's called conviction. It was released in early February the fourth was been out for a couple of weeks, and it is about it's so good. It's cool. Because it's it's a story. But the subject is very specific. It's it's kind of how the Justice system, particularly in the inner City New York in the Bronx is failing a lot of people. But it's it's told in such. Away that it's a story. And it's basically someone looking for Justice. Now, the main one of the main characters in the story is a private investigator and his name is Manny Gomez. And it's really funny because throughout the I think it's seven episodes of the podcast. He starts out his kind of hero. And by the end, you're not sure if he's the hero or villain and who who's the good guy and who's the bad guy. Which is always great, right? Like, it starts out, you know, black and white. And by the time, you're done like, I don't even know what just happened. But what's really interesting is how obvious it is that the Justice system in the Bronx is very messed up. And there's kind of no Justice in law cases. So it was really good again. It's called convey, the conviction podcasts Gimblett podcast. So it's really well produced. Good luck. Once you start it like stopping since. It's a binge. Listen, you're gonna just listen to it for like, seven hours, straight, or whatever is really awesome. So I highly recommend that or you guys are more time. If you're gonna be at the midwinter, please come by and see us at booth three eight zero zero that's the premier dental booth. I think we're going to be at the three. Booth to to to shake hands and kiss babies like at one o'clock on Thursday or something in we'll put that up in the dental hacks nation, we're going to be, but we're going to be doing our podcasting at the premier booth for sure, and I'm gonna be looking at all kinds of stuff probably talk about the specific things. We're looking at we're gonna look at maybe next episode, but really looking forward to the midwinter again would agree meeting. And we're looking forward to seeing you guys there if you're there. So again, look up info at dental hacksaw common. My cell is ninety nine eight five nine six zero two. If you do text me, make sure you put your name in it. So I know who the heck I'm talking to and can't wait see guys there. And I think this will put a pin in. Let's let's wrap this up and we will seem next week.

Young men would often get thrown up against walls force down to the ground. People who are stopped run. This time often described the experience as scary and humiliating. Jessica was worried about her son Pedro who's about to become a teenager. He was getting taller he'd grown his hair out into long braids.
