How would you guys not bring up on the air either individually or as a group that makes you comfortable It's not that it makes me uncomfortable. It's just something that my wife. And i decided that we weren't gonna share and that would be the kids names like we. Just you know we leave the kids out of it because you know people are dixon. Your and my kids asked me. You can say whatever you want about me even my wife. I mean she's an adult and she understands the game is or whatever but it's not fair for kids. Yeah people are really really weird. I had a guy that i used to work with where you know. He would talk about his daughter on the air. All the time and people are calling up cinemas vile things. I don't like geez. I are going on staff to his daughter six. Oh my it sound like you know that that for me is is something i don't want to bring them. Although i gotta say i say this to be allowed either go oh well you know we just tell it like it is on our show and xyz. And i always say to these radio people. I said when's the last time you shared something that like the minute. You feel like you the more uncomfortable. It makes you to share. I feel like that's the most important stuff to share. That's the best stuff to share because that's when you really are truly being real could share something it's embarrassing or you know something that doesn't necessarily paint you in the best light. You're being honest. And that's the real relatable stuff so yeah typically for me. I don't find most things off limits. But that's the only thing i can think over the kids math right. Braves got a laundry list of stuff but as far as what. I don't want to discuss the things that people find so device want to hear anything about politics. Girl's talking points in partnership with esi nation has always. Hello what's up. So i'm charged up today. Is we have a special guest. He's like not impressed by that because they say all the title. We have a special against. It is a podcast producer from the bolts from the blue lightning but lightning round podcasts. Also target employees of the hour of the hour have garett sixty. Yes us employee of the month. Yeah say look at you guys. Yeah we hear that story. I saw because when i was researching really what i mean is like internet creeping on. That's a part of your profile. And i have to say you have one of the more intriguing twitter byles so please go ahead in the spill. Your story on that front okay. I will and first of all thank you. I'm glad to be the third dow on this podcast today at appreciate you guys have so basically what had happened and this is the early days of when added twitter account. I went into target. And i went in just to get one thing. I just needed to creamer for my coffee. This is a long time ago. I i don't really do creamer so much anymore. But i need creamer for my coffee i walk in and old lady comes up to me and goes hey. Can you tell me where throw pillow covers. Our and i looked down and realize. I'm wearing a red shirt. And i've got like beige pants on. Of course it's like a banshee. It's got some kind of graphic. I can't remember what should of was but it definitely wasn't like a polo. So i go. I don't have the heart to tell us a lady that don't work at target. So i walked her through target pretending i was will not pretending just went along with it and it walked her down the aisle and realized i. I don't know what i'm doing and throw pillow covers is such a unique thing to ask wasn't like where toys or like girls dresses or shampoo. I could've maybe found out. So i'm end of acidity of pillows and i go i. I don't see any throw pillow covers here. But there's throw pillows and she goes. That's great. I'll take two of them. I said great. And i help her pick out a color she gets to. She goes to the aisle. And then i'm about to walk out of the island. Go oh my god. I'm glad i was able to help out lady and a woman who sees me helping another lady goes. Hey my kids spilled are slurpy on. I'll seven go now. I'm into deep. 'cause the ladies within earshot and i can't go here so now i'm longer and another an actual targeted play passes manigault. Excuse me they're just you know there's a spill on i'll seven so both those ladies must think i'm like you know upper management as i can tell this person what to do and actuality i just want it off my plate and get out of there because now i'm like sucked into this bit that i didn't want to be part of as walking out. These lady turns back and goes you know what. I wanted a different color. After she bought it. I was about to walk out the door. She sees me. She's got a bag in her with the pillows and goes. I didn't get the right color. Because we're kind of bathing was red was a blue. She wanted the blue instead of the red she got red. I said you know what they'll take care of you over in the return section exchange or whatever and i walked out the door and i just i kept my head down straight to the car so at that point i had been target employees for thirty minutes. I added i live. Tweeted this thing as happenings. Because basically what i was doing is trying to find out on the internet where pillows are in target. I don't know what i'll like now on the app. It's easy to find but like you know five six years ago's hard to figure out where throw pillows were so basically. I was on my phone. Just trying to figure it out but also live tweeting it because it was funny in the moment and i walked right out. Got outta there. I added target was like hey you guys like only something like is there commission. Obvious throw pillows. 'cause she needed a throw pillow cover up solar to through to new throw pillows. So i'm still. I'm still wondering where that check is and affiliate marketing. That's the tree. Affiliate marketing like they. She easily be able to compensate you for that target. I worked there for thirty minutes. And i expect a check and i might just take him to court for it. I need that whatever. The minimum wage is at target. And the funny coincidences. My brother works at target. He's an actual target employees. And i've told them the story and he goes. You never get money. So don't expect to but at some point target team member as a former team member at target a have correct you there joe he is now. He is not a member anymore because he's been promoted. He's working in logistics. Also even even logistics managers team members. Still probably not but team. I those the line they gave everybody credit card. Get this credit card. And you're like no you mean the target red card. Come on saturday from ten percent.

"Something and and have a paradigm shift on how we approach things so. I'm really intrigued with that. Because i think grapes. Great coaches understand. Each player is not the same and you got to be a psychologist and college for eighty five or one hundred of them right because you can't treat them all the same because some may react you can't they. Don't all react to the same coaching. And i think it's like when somebody asked me. What mechanics do you train everybody that same. No i've talked about that before two last things about this. We'll get to your guys calls one. Is i try my best. And i sit there and sensors coaching things on my mind. The beginning of a season teams are coming off in college football with losses. Big games in high school going on right now and as a coach the psychological the psychology of it is one is i try when i'm coaching. Training is not to tell a kid. What he can't do is telling what he can. We use the world will don't do this man. Don't throw the bowl there. How about instead of throwing that they are thinking about this and maybe throw it here. So i try and i know sometimes you slip into try to teach them the what to do as opposed to what they're doing you could teach them what they're doing wrong but say don't throw it there. Of course you throw it to the other team. How about well how about. This wouldn't have been better if we roll through that progression and hit the second guy in the and number two. And i firmly believe this coaches. And i'm saying this loud and clear for every level coach at every i don't care if you're a parent of your kid. You're coaching your kid great. We all want to coach our kid. You wanna lose credibility quicker than anything. Play your kid if he's not the best player hardest thing to do as a parent and a coach for your kid because you got to go home to them. But it'll be the greatest lesson in sports. Your kid will ever learn that. Just because you're nepotism the coach's son doesn't mean you're the starter if you have earned it and i give coaches a lot of credit not to the point where you're beating your kid down. He is the best player and you're not playing him just because you want him to struggle. If he's the best player you plan and everybody on the field knows it. Players know it. Sometimes parents are a little skewed. 'cause they think their kids the best player in the world when quite frankly at times they're not but as a coach you cannot go nepotism and play your own kid if he's not the best player unless of course you wanna lose credibility and have people go crazy and it's the hardest thing to do. You're coaching your kidneys as a quarterback but somebody else better to come home and say you're the backup now you've got to do more work to beat him out and then there's the kid you gotta ask your dad or your coach. What can i do to better myself to have a chance. So you can't play your kid if he's not the best player that's just my opinion and that's the way it's gonna stand and you wanna lose respect and credibility quick. Play your kid when he's the third best player at the position but because you want to go home and hug him and high five him and build a self esteem. There's a better way to build self esteem. Teach them how to work. Not how to just be handed. Thanks and i think that's important for coaches to donkeys. What's up man. How you doing does zachi. It's been a while to talk to you. hey Shum awesome comments on this literally coach. He's talk. I want to share something with the experience from the first time in my life. Now a grandfather my grandson. He's played his first year in little incline and the coaches he had other they were awesome. Yeah coach eric. And he's coaching staff my son Not only did he did this coach where teaching their kids but they also built a relationship which is very important to build a relationship not only with gets better with their parents and they did an awesome job. All the stuff that you said man. It's correct and i can vouch for the coaching stuff on my grandson. They did all that the first year on the other side. I have never experienced. Listen to this sean. Of a kids. Five five hundred in spring klein don't want to play offs. How competitive it can get in. How angry can get with. The opposing teams that doing the championship game. There was a call that they call interference one other iraqis which is our team's runner and he got out of hand. Sean and i was just thinking that. They're just five years did they. They stopped the game. You know like in baseball. When they're reviewing the place they stopped the game and they had to call the commission per se. I'll delete to calm and make a decision if the place was right or wrong. So my point is that this gets the starting to five years old. They're beginning to play and they see all this which is in my opinion. I mean not right. it's horrible. It's very horrible. And and and you can ask you know Brian bliss was a brian. Bliss namic from the astros. What's i. I can never pronounce his name. He no he played against rt and we managed to build a relationship with our team and my son and my grandson. With 'cause we saw minute maid park and he remember us but his team was an example that they were dirt play fund and send simple for the kids. How funniest pay the game. Yep i'll do said sean. I agree with you. One hundred percent. Also sean or Michael do you have any of the adam as well being with the kobe and all you can hang up and listen so it's easier for you. Does psyches thank you very much adam. Sater's going through covert had been an icu. You know he's a producer keeping a close watch on it and struggling. And you see some joe george and the rest of us have retweeted it and talked about it and if you go on joe georgia any of ours you can see how you can help build that up but sags is a guy who we love his family. And he's he's hanging in there and hopefully we'll get an update from his wife Manigault brother-in-law talked to over the weekend said this struggle and make sure people understand that this is no joking and sakes is a tough cat so you know that when he's when he's going through struggles that stopped but we'll keep you guys informed He's thanks so much for asking. David i want to do david. Don't don't hang up please. Because i want to get. I wanna get your coaching talk here. In just a second but let us take a quick quick quick break. And we'll come back and we'll take all your calls and we'll talk texans but coaching and it's important and dose. I will say this that. if. I'm a commissioner of the league and coaches fight with each other on a seventh grader. Sixth grade or eighth grade team. They're not coaching anymore. In that league over over again that's one thing to be competitive and learn how to win and lose in and the right way but fighting over a referee's guys probably making twenty five bucks in the game or fighting with another guy. Teach your kids how to do it right and in the process. Here's the problem kids. Don't ruin little league little league. Football parents do first of all. You allow your kids to be undisciplined on the field. That's your fault as a coach. And if you're the one yelling at the other teams coach and fighting and it's going into the stands of coaches and fans and parents jumping out of the stands to go fight the coach because well the coach you a call be benched. Your kid. don't ruin it for the kids because you want kids to run away from sports quicker than anything be that coach that parent. You don't get to coach again. If you're picking a fight with the other teams coach or taunting another player's head coach. Just stop it. Okay quit live in your dream through through somebody else your times past the dam player. Let the kids do teach them how to do it right. Okay all of us. I ain't got no eligibility left but you know what you can do is teach kids whether they go on and play or not for this experience this year to be the best experience playing youth football and regardless of what they do not all of them are going on scholarship although parents all think they are but you can sure coach him to be the best. They can be this year next year and the year after but parents. If you're that parent that wants to fight because you got beat you ain't gonna let me be your coach. And it's not going to end well so just just just coach the kids right and be competitive and build their self-esteem teach them right and quit. Living your dreams through your kid on a pop warner game. Not just your kid. Be your kids on a saturday win and no super bowl as a sixth grader. What yeah maybe the local championship. But you don't get you didn't. We're not putting you on national tv and having you do an interview 'cause yelled and screamed at a kid and fought with another coach. Sports talk seven nine three two one two five seven ninety also. Check this out. I should've worn. Sean only cares about cold. hard facts. Back to sean salisbury. Show on.

Half of the season and a lot of players are are second half is not I have so it's kind of like they need that rest before they can be able to do that. But I mean the minor leagues are doing now for the home in Derby. The weather where it's not you don't hit home runs out. You have a competition. One of you have to hit something like Oh like you have to hit this ball to the third base and you have to make it inside the square like they make an interesting now that you get a point for everything that you are achieving in that way it now you become a hitter. It's just hitting home runs. It's actually placing the bond situations. "They allies social media and social media assets so much more effectively than the Clinton campaign, and they were able to reach people in ways that she couldn't. And as a result. You know, they had these folks that were unknown voters people who had never voted before who weren't on the radar who were not registering in those polls that polling data because remember -ly, you know, two three weeks before the election. They said it was going to be a landslide. They were reading their data. I think inaccurately so I I think it comes down to the digital. They gave him the okay because you're kind of confirming my suspicion, and that is why I think modern polling doesn't seem to reflect effectively what really is going on. Because polling is not going to is not going to measure what people are doing online or how people's attitudes are being changed behaviorally online. Now. You're absolutely correct. There needs to be some modification in modern day. Polling Nate silver who I was a big follower of. I was so surprised at how wrong he was. Because mates silver was almost like my go-to for all political data information. And he admitted we all just got it wrong because there were flaws in the model, and so I think you'll see going into this new presidential cycle significant changes in how they do polling, and hopefully they can reach people where they are because calling people on the phone is old school at it is antiquated, and it does not work. Well, again, I don't want to get too far. Off topic maroshek manigault Newman, but here in Oklahoma in our recent legislative and gubernatorial election, I'm seeing an enormous shift to a want to either vote early or apply for absentee ballot and vote then or at least go to a male in system where people at Saint seems to me people want more time to have the ballot in front of them and make up their mind. What do you see as a pollster, you're absolutely correctly? Not only do they want more time, but they want more options, and they deserve more options. We have to evolve as a modern society, and we need to open up the times that we vote early voting is very very, and I think we need to go to a dues is version of owning. I know that's way ahead of our time. But I think we need to the road. I agree because there's no reason that we shouldn't be able to do this much more efficiently. But I've seeing that the folks on the right want to restrict early voting make it harder for people to vote and that is not. Representative of our democracy. And so hopefully, they'll be some modifications and reforms in voting that will see coming into the next presidential cycle. "I've really no disagreement with that. I might disagree in any specific case whether one policy or one statement is an example of appealing to white people qua- white people. But no, I think that analysis is spot on. So I guess my question is what we make of that. And I think that's actually one of the Deepa political puzzles of his time because when you live in a country, which I think does have some deep injustices, and you have a very powerful political force that does often engage in wider than politics. How'd you stand up to that? And how do you stand up for the rights interest groups that they sometimes target and interest of at least happy to ignore and Habsburg even get some political capital out of attacking them. How do you respond to that without deepening the extent to which country? Is organized around the lines of identity politics. So one responses will look events would actually doing then the only responses, but that's what we should be doing to right because otherwise one group's interests are represented new protesters and be was on. So we just need to fight fire with fire was what's wrong with that strategic responds to American reality as it is. I think the more that the left anchors at self to black and Brown identity politics. The more the right is going to anchor itself to white identity politics. You just have to put yourself in the shoes of a white man with a certain kind of personality that is having to hear from people getting hired by the New York Times statements about white people that just would not fly about any other race someone who perhaps wants less immigration for a reason and any articulation of the idea that immigration should be reduced is synonymous with racism having to hear people. Call. Racist on in MSNBC world for things that clearly aren't he'll what's an example of it. Recent egregious example, I think is Trump calling. Omarosa manigault Newman a dog clearly a bullying move without a doubt. But it was just obvious and MSNBC world that that was racist. And then you go to New York Times, and you you you look at their database of everyone Trump has called the dog. And there's so many white people on that list. Mac Miller and David Axelrod and others. Anyway, that is exactly the kind of thing that radicalize is white people and moves them towards the right? And the fact of the matter is that America is frankly, one of the least racist countries on earth hugest. You may have seen this release. A kind of attitude survey on immigration and by any objective measure, the US is one of the most pro immigration countries in the world. So what it showed invite poll? I forget the exact phrasing now. But I think it was basically about whether you oppose having a increasing the extent of immigration to your country something like that and huge majorities of virtually every European country said, yeah, we we don't want that. And in America was only thirty two percent to Saturday. So did they Japan or East Asian countries? If it's not just that we're pro immigration compared to Europe, we're pro immigration compared to East Asia. Yes. European. He's Sade infamy. I'm gonna pop because I'm from Europe because that's my piece of identity politics. But also because I had argued something along those lines and Twitter about a week earlier, and I got a real pylon. And I'd love to get your sense of a psychology of that. I mean people outrage for sad. You know, it's striking debate about politics in Europe is part of a ride of a debate in the United States. And I didn't mean. Mean to minimize by that in any way, the debunked immigrants sentiment, but he sees specially from his administration separating children from pounds. If aboard saw an old of elephants, obviously outraged by but I think that there was visit of interesting desire for a lot of my Mark and follow us to sort of self flagellate. I mean, there was a sort of. No, no, we go to be worse than other people. And if you somehow Colin doubt worse than other people than you, attacking a basic piece of how I see a world that was struck by response to that. Because I wouldn't think meaningless follow us had any actual disagreements on pieces of substantive policy. But it was nearly as fo- sort of cooling endowed the extent to which United States is specifically unjust in comparison to some other countries, which are pretty terrible on issues like immigration. "You wanna try to find the right time to to buy a team, and you have to keep in mind right after they win national TV game that they weren't supposed to win is not a good team to buy a good time to buy future. So you know as far as getting a good price. It's it's really important. Yeah. It is really important knowing when to enter the market, and you know, I do think that it's a really good idea. And we'll talk about these teams as we go forward here as Kyle starts to, you know, look, the lock some money. It's a good time to build up a portfolio, you know, grab some prices really long prices. I think you know, I don't think there's much value in playing, you know, Tennessee under ten to one Virginia under seven to one something like that there's very little equity in that there's not a lot of equity in tying your money up for a price. You can probably get in a month and a half. Or maybe even you know, when we see with the bracket draw looks like on selection Sunday, you want to try to get some longer shot teams that maybe have some games coming up that will lower their price will strengthen their resume because that is really important. You know, you look at a team. That's you know, got a big time game coming up something like that. Maybe they're going to be an underdog. You know, maybe that's a good time to buy because if they win the price is going to go down because they want us an underdog if they lose. They were supposed to lose. Anyway. So the price probably won't adjust that much so it can be really difficult balance to achieve you know, I'm looking to take, you know, easily. I'm not taking anything under triple digits at this point in time because they're just not as much equity and tying it up. And you wanna keep in mind that the ultimate goal of every futures bet is to make money. Your team does not have to win the national championship. They just need to get into March madness and go deep enough to allow you to hedge off and guarantee some profit. So that's why I'm taking a look at some of the longer shots that are out there because I don't wanna have to tie up money for two and a half months on team. It has to go to the elite eight to make anything off of it. Yeah. Exactly, you you you there's not too much point. Like, you said manigault and taking team seven to one or something. Now that you know, you could get that price later, or at least really close to it. And if you take it now, there's a there's injury risk something it change. You know, why would you wanna take seven to one now? And then okay their best player gets injured, you're screwed. I mean, you have no value at all. So, you know, that's why taking the longshots makes a lot more sense. And like you said, you know, you have to keep in mind. You know, some people say, and I've heard this before some people say, well, you know, t- mex- there's no way they're going to win at all. Well, they don't have to win at all. You know? I mean, if a good enough price, then go ahead and invest in it, you know, you weren't that team to to get at least a couple round into the NCAA tournament. And then you can see what what you do. So, you know, we'll try to find some some decent futures prices based on that. I'll say I'll go ahead and started off with one that. I was looking at here right now. I like Purdue plus twelve thousand at bookmaker I talked about Purdue last time we had a segment I think Purdue is new for some positive progression. Purdue plays in a good league. You know, all they have to do is have a pretty good record. And they're gonna make the NCAA tournament produce a well coached team they ever really good leader in Edwards. I think that Purdue plus twelve thousand is a pretty solid price. Yeah. I'm disappoint you stole my thunder..
