"So of course this has been wall to wall. And I am not persuaded that anyone should say anything. I said this throughout the Mueller investigation, which turned out to be a giant dry hole. Despite throwing 20 prosecutors in a hundred FBI agents and thousands and thousands of hours at it, nothing there. And people have been trying to get Trump for 20 years, especially since 2015, and especially since 2016, people have been trying to get Trump. And getting Trump has wearied me and has broken politics in America. But a Soros backed prosecutor. I mean, a left wing prosecutor. And I'm going to continue to say Soros back because Soros is backing the left wing Supreme Court. By the way, I have justice Dan Kelly on this morning as we enter into the home stretch of the Wisconsin Supreme Court race where Soros is spending just spent another half billion bucks on backing a left winger. And Soros prosecutor in Manhattan indicting Donald Trump. It's so wildly wildly inappropriate, unless there's something we don't know, but you don't know what you don't know. Here is former vice president Mike Pence on CNN with Wolf Blitzer last night being responsible, speaking his mind, cut number one. Well, I think the unprecedented indictment. Of a former president of the united states on a campaign finance issue is an outrage. And it appears that for millions of Americans. I mean, nothing more than a political prosecution. That's driven by a prosecutor who literally ran for office on a pledge to indict the former president. But it wasn't just the mister vice president of excuse me for interrupting. It wasn't just the prosecutor, the district attorney in New York who did this. This was a grand jury a grand jury of some of 23 people and you need a majority 12 to go ahead and criminally indict. Well, I understand that. And in a long time since I was in law school, wolf. But I remember the old saying, you can indict a ham sandwich. Right. The threshold, the burden of proof is very low. Prosecutors make decisions, discretionary decisions about what they bring all the time. Federal prosecutors passed on this. The Manhattan DA initially delayed it passed on it, but when you have an attorney general in New York and a Manhattan DA that targeted one particular American in their campaigns, I think that offends the notion of the overwhelming majority of the American people who believe in fairness who believe in equal treatment before the law. And this appears to be just one more example of the kind of two tiered justice system that the American people have had enough of. But your Justice Department, the Trump Pence Justice Department, as you well know, they charge Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen over these very same payments and said, he made them and I'm quoting now from the Trump Justice Department in coordination with and at the direction of Donald Trump. Cohen spent more than a year in prison, do you concede that was a crime? Well, I concede that lying to Congress is a crime, which was if memory serves with Michael Cohen, went to jail for the most part. Look, that was just the only charge. But here's the issue. I have to, you know, I'm traveling around the country a lot. My wife and I are going through a process of making decisions about our future. I know, but I was just in Iowa yesterday. I tell you, I was three different cities, and even though this has been in the news over the last two weeks. And issues about me and another investigation were in the news. It's not one person raised this issue to me. And I have to tell you, the media's obsession about these investigations into Donald Trump. I think it's being lost on the American people who are struggling under the way to the failed policies of the Biden administration. But look, this, I think, I think the American people are going to look at this, see it as one more example of the criminalization of politics in this country. And it's one more example of the kind of drama that captures Washington, D.C...

Vivek Ramaswamy: A Trump Indictment Goes Beyond Partisanship
"I know there's a lot of chest thumping going on and gloating by the Trump haters, but they don't seem to realize Vivek that there's Republican prosecutors too. They're Republican legislators too. You're opening up a Pandora's box here where we could see, as you put it, the criminalization of our political process and I hate to say it. Two sides can play that game for Vic. It is the sad reality. I want to be on record being very clear about this. Suppose it were 2019 and there was a Republican state level prosecutor that was trying to stop Joe Biden on the campaign trail in the 2020 presidential election and the campaign leading up to it. By arresting him for a technical campaign finance irregularity. I would have been equally opposed to that happening back then because this is not about Democrats and Republicans. It is about a system of constitutional self governance where the people of this country get to decide who actually runs the government, not some prosecutor gone rogue over getting political attention. The justice system ought to actually be apolitical, regardless of whether you're Donald Trump or Joe Biden or anybody else. And so this goes beyond partisanship, and that's why I think it goes beyond politics. I'll tell you that a lot of the people who are gloating about this quietly are even in the Republican Party. In the field, particularly presidential candidates who might have a more convenient path that may be good news for them, but I think we need to rise above politics. In fact, I think the single greatest thing Joe Biden could do is get on TV and call on this Manhattan DA to drop this politicized persecution through prosecution. He spun to run on uniting the country in his four years in office. There is not a single more uniting thing he could do than that single act and I would applaud him if he did it. I don't expect it to happen. But this is about the country. It's not about partisan politics. It's not about winning this election. And I think we have to stand on prison. Joe

He's a New York City trial attorney, joins us from New York City where I will be in just a few hours to cover all of this next week in Lower Manhattan. What size free Trump T-shirt should I get you? Should I order you counselor? Well, I'm thinking it's probably going to, this is going to plot in the phrase Trump Frank Sinatra's mugshot, which is a pretty popular mug shot for decades, but I think Elvis Presley's got one out there as well. Look, I've lived in this world. I grew up in this world. My dad was an assistant district attorney in the Manhattan DA's office under the DA who was called Frank Hogan. He was there for three decades plus. And, you know, Frank Hogan had an expression and he said, never play politics with people's lives. And in this particular case, Alvin Bragg is not just playing politics with Donald Trump's life. He's playing politics with the American lives because on so many levels. But on the most obvious one is people may want to vote for him for president of the United States. Now this does not eliminate him from running for president of the United States. What it definitely puts up speed bump in his path. If anyone could turn lemons into lemonade, there's no one better at it than Donald Trump. He'll figure out as you just said, some way to make this mug shot into something positive for his reelection. But it's just not how the system is supposed to work, Mike. And that's the bummer of this hope.

Donald Trump indicted; expected to surrender early next week
"Now that Donald Trump has been indicted in New York prosecutors say they are working to coordinate his surrender, which could happen early next week. The Manhattan DA showed up for work without commenting, but Trump's lawyer Joe taka Pena said, they'll go in next week and plead not guilty. The president will not be put in handcuffs. As far as the most shots concerned, perp walk. As I said, I'm sure they'll try to make sure they get some joy out of this by parading him. Taka Pena says Trump was shocked by Thursday's indictment, even though he predicted his own arrest, the indictment remains under seal but charges stemmed from hush money payments made on Trump's behalf during the 2016 presidential campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter. Trump Indicted After Manhattan DA Probe for Hush Money Payments
"Crazy, crazy news out of New York. And crazy news for this country. They've now officially indicted former president Donald Trump for hush money paid in the stormy Daniels case. This is one thing that I think is very, very bizarre about this and it's crazy it's two left shoes and an 8 legged man. We're talking about a payment to a prostitute slash porn star that was made through his lawyer and he reimbursed his lawyer, but didn't no take that on campaign funds. And so they are going through all of this process to try to indict him because I'm assuming that the payment wasn't the problem. We don't know what the charges are, but was the payment the problem? I'm going to go and tell if you don't give me this money. You settle with them, you sign on disclosure, they don't tell, you paid in the money that's it. Is the crime and I have to see the charges. Is the crime that he didn't disclose them on campaign spending? Or is the crime paying somebody hush money? Right now I don't really know because we don't know what his indictment charges or at least from the articles that I've read. But let me just tell you this, man. It's two sides to this on how I feel. One side is a witch hunt. They doing everything they can to get Donald Trump embroiled in some type of controversy. Some type of conflict, indictment does not mean conviction, you're innocent, it's a proven guilty. So just because he's indicted, don't mean that it's going to go anywhere. But if they drag you into court in a tarnish your name, that's enough damage done. You don't have to go to jail. Then there's another side of it. Is that I would say that Trump should have done this. I don't know what other part to add to this.

Dinesh Has Some Fun With the Stormy Daniels Prosecution
"Manhattan DA's prosecution of Donald Trump in the stormy Daniels matter. You might say, wait a second. How do you prosecute somebody for paying hush money to a porn star? Whether or not we're leaving aside the facts of the case to Trump have an affair with stormy Daniels, dead Trump reimbursed Michael Cohen, the attorney who made the payment, leave all that aside. What is the illegality here? Well, the illegality supposedly comes in the form of a campaign finance violation because again, the Manhattan DA has the job of proving that this was in fact this money was taken from campaign finance funds, and frankly, even if it was normally this kind of offense is treated as just nothing more than campaign as to now reimburse those funds. Remember Obama had campaign finance violations totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars, and all they said was, listen, pay the money back. End of story. So the idea of converting this into a felony, which carries, by the way, four years in prison, just downright absurd. The whole thing is preposterous. But guess what? After we heard that in the rest of Trump was imminent, Trump is going to be in handcuffs, strom himself seemed to think this was actually going to happen. And we saw police putting a barricades around the courthouse in a sense to keep people away and guess in case there was an outburst of protest overall this. And then suddenly the air seemed to go out of the balloon. They passed in two days and three days, no rest well, they're gonna be reconvening on Monday and then we hear now they're on break for a month. What? A month. Yes, a month. So I don't really necessarily want to go into the sexual analogies here. But since we're talking about stormy, Daniels, I mean legally, this is a total coitus interruptus.

House Republicans had sought documents and testimony about the case. Calling the grand jury investigation into Donald Trump, quote, an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority. In a letter obtained by The Associated Press, the general counsel for Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg slammed the congressional request as an unlawful incursion into New York's sovereignty, adding that Donald Trump's lawyers reportedly urged three House committee chairman to intervene after Trump created a false expectation. "Joining us now is Mike Davis from the article three project. So Mike, I'm told you are ahead of the curve on all of this. Walk us through it. What is the latest in breaking news? What do you know? Well, I mean, we see that Soros funded Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg seems like he's pretty determined to bring these political charges against president Trump and indict him on his bogus legal theory, trumped up charges on a bogus legal theory. They, you know, I don't know if he's pausing or backing down or what, because it seems like there were hearing word that the indictment could be pushed back to next week, but you still have the Bragg's office coordinating with the Secret Service, other federal and state and local law enforcement agencies. They have the security fence around the Manhattan courthouse. So it looks like it's full steam ahead for Alvin Bragg, mission accomplished for him politically. He's campaigns on the fact that he wants to take out Trump. If you look at his Twitter, both his Manhattan DA office and his personal Twitter feeds, he has penned tweets showing his Trump arrangements. And so this is going to backfire spectacularly on the Democrats. This is waking people up. Well, so let me ask you, what do you mean by backfire? I mean, because I have a ton of respect for you, Mike, but I'm not sure that's true. I mean, the Mar-a-Lago raid didn't wake anybody up. Well, I mean, at the Mar-a-Lago ray, Trump's poll numbers went up by 11 points, but the midterms were hardly a resounding success. Well, I understand that, but if you look at what they're going to do is unify the Republican Party around president Trump, they're going to do the impossible, which is to agree with that. Yeah, in the primary. I'm just not sure if regular I think I'm not sure if it's going to have this. I've been waiting for the boomerang for years when I'm getting that, right? I want you to hear in context what desantis said about the political prosecution of Donald Trump about trying to interfere with the election the way the Democrats and the Manhattan district attorney's office is doing. Here was desantis's perfect answer for reporters yesterday here in Florida. I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair. I can't speak to that. But what I can speak to is that if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction and he chooses to go back many, many years ago to try to use something about porn star hush money payments, that's an example of pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office. And I think that that's fundamentally wrong. I also think it's important to point out when you're talking about these Soros funded prosecutors. Yes, they may do a high profile politicized prosecution. And that's bad. But the real victims are ordinary New Yorkers, ordinary Americans, and all these different jurisdictions that they get victimized every day because of the reckless political agenda that these Soros DAs bring to their job. They ignore crime and they empower criminals. And that hurts people, hurts a lot of people every single day. That's what I was talking about earlier. The misdemeanor, the statute of limitation is running out. And so this is highly political. This is why Alvin Bragg wants to try to get Donald Trump, but how do you prove an intent to defraud if Donald Trump said, I'm paying my legal bills. How did you do that? All right, and man, the second crime could be and improper campaign contribution from Cohen to Trump's campaign since it was to benefit his candidacy. However, according to Alan Dershowitz, liberal, all right? Renowned civil liberties lawyer. Who represented Trump in his first impeachment trial, has argued the potential indictment would be questionable. After spending months searching the criminal code for a law that mister Trump might be accused of violating, he says mister Bragg has apparently landed on a highly questionable campaign contribution provision that has never before been used in a comparable situation. He says, does anyone actually believe that if someone else were accused of paying hush money to avoid a sex scandal in the manner that mister Trump is suspected of doing because again, they don't know, he would be prosecuted? Of course not. I mean, he goes on further also. Hillary Clinton paid hush money to a staffer. You have to pay out of good lord. What was the other lady forgive me? Forgive me. So this stuff goes on all the time in politics apparently, especially with Democrats, but you absolutely hear nothing of it. Guys, I'm gonna touch on this more. I'm gonna get a few more details in touch on this more tomorrow. There's some audio clips that I did not get to play for you that I do want to play for you. I do want to touch on the run desantis Trump thing. Again, politics is a bloody sport, but I fear where you're losing that 12 years we wanted. This is Carl Jackson until next time, do not grow where he doing good. God bless you. What's going on y'all, this is Brandon Tatum. I just want to thank you so much for listening to my podcast. "It will do nothing to damage the brand. As a matter of fact, it would embolden the brand. And people are so tired of these vote woke foods like Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan DA. I think people will just say, you know what, just a spite these fools. Just to show these foods, we're not gonna take this anymore. You know, we're gonna go ahead and vote for Trump. So if you do it, go ahead, go ahead, Alvin Bragg. I think Trump wins. And frankly, let me just be honest with you, Trump is the favorite. He is the favorite. It is gonna be, listen, this is just politics. I'm just being real with you. Numbers wise, it's gonna be virtually impossible to beat Trump and when it comes to becoming the nominee. He's got 30% of the base. At least locked in right from the get go. All right, so I do want to get into the Trump desantis thing because I am concerned about four years and then 8 years, a lot of conservatives say that. That's what we want four years, and then 8 years of desantis, although they slander desantis so bad, they won't get 8 years of desantis, but they still say it, but I'm just at the point where I just simply don't think that's going to happen. And quite frankly, I want to be real. We've got to be, we've got to do so much so much if Trump does it in or whomever wins, all right? I'll say that all for that caveat. All right, so whomever wins. There's got to be so much done to fight back against this bureaucratic behemoth. You can't dismiss the fact that the pendulum could swing. Unless you get involved. All right? But it's going to be a brawl if we do happen to win The White House. That's assuming that we can get past the ballots. And right now, we're behind on that. So I think it's more of a ballot battle than Trump and desantis, but let's see. I know politics is a bloodsport. Sean McConnell and I were talking about this. I mean, politics. If you get an a politics expect to be bloody. It is a blood sport, right? We know that. Trump is probably the best. He's the best ever, as far as I've seen at delivering the blows to other Republicans. I mean, that is just undeniable. And that's his style. And you got to expect that from Trump. Love it or hate it. That's Trump is going to be Trump. Desantis, I do believe his lane.

"I watched this documentary one time. I'm sorry that I didn't even mean to go here, but I gotta share, 'cause I hear all these conservatives. Well, wait till their adult wait till they're like it. As if it gets better. As if it's kind that someone, someone still chopped people's body parts off just because they're older. It makes no sense to me. And I understand it's easy when it comes to kids, right? 'cause everybody was like, oh, that's wrong, that's wrong. But I'm telling you, I'm a step it up a notch. It's wrong to do it on adults. It is morally wrong to do it on adults. It makes no sense to me. I watch this documentary. This dude was on swole. I mean, this dude was big. It was a good-looking dude. You know, and I can say that because I'm totally secure in my manhood. But he was a good-looking too. I think maybe Italian or something, you could tell the dude worked out or whatever. Come to find out the dude no longer had a penis. He went through one of these surgeries only a couple of years because he was depressed. He was suicidal. He went to these doctors. They told him, you know what? This is what you need to do. We need to perform a top of the golf of me and so he went ahead and he went through it. And he became this female because he thought that's what he was missing in life. And when he did this, he was in his mid to late 20s. So he said he felt great for about a year. But then the feelings came back because he still didn't feel normal. He still didn't feel as if he was in his own body. And then his feelings of depression got worse and worse and worse and then he attempted to kill himself this time because it didn't subside the surgery did not subside his mint tool disorder. It was so sad.

"All right, welcome back to the officer Tatum show. Just some quick notes here, some headlines. I'm gonna look through them through the breaks here. Xi Jinping and Russia, China will stand guard over the world order. Man, this stuff is getting scary. We're gonna have to bring someone on this week to talk about this, but that's pretty scary. Exclusive, Mike Tyson defense Trump. And no one's gonna call Mike Tyson a sellout, at least not to his face, otherwise you probably will get knocked out. So Cruz, Ted Cruz slams Manhattan DA Bragg. Apparently desantis has taken some heat by the way he responded, but we have some audio clips that I'll play in the second hour. He did respond and he thought it was pretty much a joke. So we'll talk about that in a second hour. I do want to give you a couple of examples of what's happening with the left and woke ism. And some of this I'll have to carry in to the next hour. But a teen is suing doctors have to have daily wire for removing her breasts at the age of 13, putting her and putting her on puberty blockers. So presenting Layla's parents with the false dilemma that would that would they rather have a live son or a dead daughter. That's the argument that many of these sick people that are mutilating these children are saying, guys, I'm a just say this. If you're a doctor and you're performing this on people that have gender dysphoria, a mental disorder, you're an evil person. I really think this is cut and dry. You're an evil person. So a teenager is suing a healthcare company and the doctors who put her on controversial puberty blocking drugs at age 12 and removed her healthy breasts and a double mastectomy surgery when she was just 13 years old. Accusing them of, quote, intentional fraud and concealment close quote. So Layla Jane, she's now 18 years old. She's a deep transitionary. She's represented it, represented by hermit Dylan, love harming Dylan. She claims in a letter of intent to Sue that she was rushed into the life altering medical services while she and her family weren't properly informed of the risk and other vital information, such as the rate of resistance for childhood gender dysphoria. Layla immediately this, according to our meat, Layla immediately started puberty blockers and testosterone at age 12 and had a double mastectomy at age 13.

"There could be a ledge here would be a violation of campaign finance law, according to one scholar, a charge that the Justice Department has already declined to bring. So if the Justice Department has declined to bring any wrongdoing as far as campaign finance law is concerned, why would Alvin Bragg be doing this? I'm going to let you guys stew on that. All right, he additionally noted that the statute, Jim Jordan did of limitations for any alleged crimes involving the former president again is set to expire soon. This explains why Bragg is willing to go at it. This is going to backfire. Bragg wanted to be a hero. He's not going to become a hero. He's going to embolden Trump. We'll get into that more in the second hour of the program. Also, here's another headline. CNN host says evidence of Chinese company gave money to Biden family doesn't look good. CNN hosts you. You know, you know the left is you know the left is losing when CNN is admitting the truth. So CNN Jose Erin Burnett said that evidence indicating that a Chinese company gave $3 million to a Biden family associate who then sent major payments to the Biden family quote doesn't look good. No crap creme lock. Aaron Burnett said it doesn't sound good. She said this on Friday, CNN's show Aaron Burnett out front before recapping reporting about the financial trail that the linked to the Biden family to the Chinese energy company CEFC. So again, here's what she said. So again, from a layperson that doesn't look good, is it damaging legally? She asked this to her guests Defense Department special counsel Ryan Goodman, who said, not necessarily damaging legally, Goodman responded. Now, if it were you and I, it would be damaging legally, but since they're the Biden since they're part of the elite club, they'll probably get away with this nonsense until we bring them to account in 2024. It looks potentially unethical, but it's difficult to match up with any legality or crime. Apparently he has not seen the laptop from hell. The interview came after House oversight in accountability committee chairman James comer last week, man, James comer. He has been a pit bull. I love this guy. I love it when conservatives take the fight to these woke punks. And yes, I'm using the word woke. At some point in time, I decided I wasn't gonna use the word, woke, because I just didn't feel like it was clear enough. I'm gonna tell you why the word woke is perfect. They tried to dog my home girl, Bethany mandel. Now, I haven't even met Bethany mandel, but she's on my team she'll Sue my homegirl. So they tried to talk her. She had a little faux pas last week on the hills rising. I'm gonna come to her defense, but also I'm gonna come to America's defense in light of these woke punks that are trying to take America down 'cause it ain't gonna happen on my watch. All right, so the interview again came after House oversight committee and accountability committee chairman James comer said bank documents showed that, quote, one company owned by a Biden associate received a $3 million wire from a Chinese energy company two months after Joe Biden left the vice presidency close quote.

All right, so anyway guys, listen, we got a lot to get to. I'm gonna talk about woke ism and the first hour and I'm gonna help you define it and define it. And I'm gonna explain to you why the left is so upset about it and that's exactly why we should keep on using the term woke. We are starting to win. We are starting to win sometimes it's hard to see it. Sometimes it's even hard for me to see if I'm being Frank with you if I'm being honest with you and I'm always gonna be honest with you. Sometimes it feels like, you know, you go home, you feel like you're in a losing battle, but you remember, no, you just, we have to stay in the fight regardless. We fight the fight. Regardless of whether or not we win, we fight to fight it. It's the right thing to do in order to save this country, but I think we are winning. And I think we are making some inroads, but we have to keep our feet planted and continue to fight. So we'll talk about wokeism. Well, obviously the big news is Donald Trump will he be arrested, Alvin Bragg, apparently, is looking to arrest former president Donald Trump. This is the dumbest move ever if this, in fact, does happen. I was sitting about I was sitting and thinking about this over the weekend and I know why Alvin Bragg would try to do it. And I'll get into those details in the second hour, but it will be a huge mistake. It will backfire on the left big Lee. All right, so do it. Alvin Bragg, I absolutely dare you to do it. Thanks, Tammy, the two Trump companies found guilty of tax fraud last month have been sentenced to pay more than $1.6 million. In this whole process and let this bill be written by joe manchin essentially And so you're gonna hit nuclear noise from the left of the party and clamor to to To do reconciliation to get to do a democrats only if you need to but but the do it problem with that. You're going to have the over. Let's listen to what alexander cousin cortez said about this yesterday. I think it's very important for the president to know that house. Progressives and i believe you know the democratic caucus is here to ensure that he doesn't fail and we're here to make sure that he is successful in making sure that we do have a larger infrastructure plan. Bill can be by the way joe mansion Is going to be with stephanie. Rule tomorrow nine. Am on this network. Everybody should be watching about what he has to say. Then about what how far. "With prosecutors in manhattan closing in on his business and maybe donald trump himself donald trump held a pre indictment rally. This weekend in ohio. The crowd was thinner than it might have been. Hundreds of his supporters. Were not being held in jail awaiting trial for their attack on the capital on january six and an excerpt from michael wolf's soon to be published new book in new york magazine this week michael wolfe describes quote trump's relationship to his army of supporters. The president often expressed puzzlement over coup. These people were with their low rent trailer. Camp bearing and their get ups wants joking that he should have invested in a chain of tattoo parlors and shaking his head about the great unwashed. Today on the eve of indictments possibly being issued with his name in them. Donald trump called manhattan prosecutors quote. Rude nasty and totally biased thereby preserving donald trump's perfect record of never ever accusing anyone of anything that he is not completely guilty of himself. Joining our discussion is kirk and bestselling author writer and peabody award winning broadcaster. His latest project is nixon at war. Podcast also the jonathan alter columnist for the daily beast an msnbc political analyst. Kurt you've been studying as it were from your spot. Donald trump and his public behavior anyway since the nineteen eighties What are you see this week. As a as we are on the verge of at least an indictment of his business. Well since i think his greatest and most enduring pathology is his need for attention. There is the upside here that if he gets indicted era or the trump organization gets indicted. He have days and maybe weeks and months of attention so i. I'm not really making a joke about that. I mean that is what he lives for so it will provide some but otherwise when we see. I mean how the mighty has fallen. I mean no longer on social media. His little website failed this this crowd of a few thousand people in this small town at a fair grounds. County fairgrounds in ohio To which the republican governor republican senator declined to show up campaigning for a for. A primary congressman. Who's been primary against congressman is being primarily but not even in the district. I mean it's it's getting just so patently. Pathetic in his desperate need to have a few thousand people who are wearing his Swaggie and love him. That i think he the darkness is falling. I just i have to think that he is he is he sees it happening. He sees that the world cares less and less about him. Except for the district. Attorney of manhattan. And jonathan alter cyrus vance the manhattan. Da is of course someone who went he will if he makes a presentation about this Will do it with the flawless professionalism that you would expect of someone in his position and that contrast of of who this is bringing these charges against the trump company that contract with donald trump will be very sharp. Absolutely you know. Cyrus vance like his his late. Father who was jimmy. Carter secretary of state These are the a pit me of class of the old wasp establishment which made a lot of contributions to this country in impeccable taste pillars of integrity. So the contrast is very sharp To a guy who you know was a way newton in las vegas. Now he's allow jacked on a second rate cruise ship. You know he's just kind of cascade in down that doesn't mean he doesn't still have a tremendous amount of power and authority inside the republican party. That will be tested in The primaries about a year from now of those republican primaries whether the candidates he backs win or not and then in the midterm elections and will know how low trump has fallen in november of twenty twenty two. And i think in this area in the interests of the democratic party and the interest of the biden white house are diverging little bit. The democrats need trump to be continued to be front and center. They need these republican women in the suburbs who low donald trump to stay angry and offended by am and if they are they're much more likely to vote democratic but kurt what does it do for defenders of donald trump. If say by the time you're going to vote in two thousand twenty two. He he himself has been indicted of some crimes. Well it can work both ways. It seems to me. I if he is the bachelor against the radical leftist cyrus vance called him today. Then he has he can play that card. I doubt though that if if he's not on the ballot and again as jonathan said we'll see but if he went him not on the ballot in twenty twenty two. I'm not sure his his endorsements or his being out there and campaigning are going to really win the day for republicans and and of course the republicans in general with the exception of the dozen or couple dozen who are have separate themselves from him in from congress you know i that they are doubling down on him and so the moment as john said that that he he fails to seem to be carrying the in the midterm elections next year. I i think you're gonna see people moving away but being indicted. The trump should being indicted think among the remaining hardcore cult. That's going to be a big problem and jonathan What is the kind of lane of this. Weekend's rally no network attention even fox did not cover it when it was happening. What does that tell you about his potency as a possible. A campaign operative for other people. Well that was really interesting decision. That fox didn't go live to that event. That tells you a lot about what's going on in in right wing politics right now. I think with with trump. Essentially acting like fidel castro. Who used for the crap out of everybody with with these eight hour interviews and fourteen. Our speeches i mean. Trump's speech was ninety seven minutes. That is painful even for your strongest supporter and you saw. People were leaving You know pretty quickly into it. So i think we're gonna we're going see but but he he is act is really wearing thin. "Because when i look at the votes actually look to them slightly differently. You look at the number of votes for reform and fundamental change and that tally is certainly very high. So i think there's a yearning in manhattan two fundamental reform. Our system of the sort. That i was talking about And yeah i think that experience of having been in the courtroom having bandaged my experience with that can speak another another candidates. This makes with that resonated with voters. But there's a strong yearning for four form as i said last night as i addressed You know folks at my campaign Night event You know we have lost not the borrow in heard You know in all corners of the borough not up here in harlem or the lowest thought all corners deep concern about police accountability deep concern about The types of offenses that we arrest people for have little to no public safety benefit. So i can say that of the discussion. Kind of the percentage of folks who voted for me but also just based on the base and what other cancer saying that that to me is a strong. Take away as well. And i know that something that i talked about in fully committed to lead into really rating system so that we can focus on gun trafficking and things that i think in my engaging voters really. What's on your mind in terms of public safety not You know things that we're adding to our system that have little to do with public safety. Honor said what's one of the central examples of that that you would. You would sort of move away from in order to concentrate as you're getting at. It's sort of the bigger concerns that you have that You know what's what's one of the biggest examples offer people that you've promised on the campaign trail in terms of getting the impact of the office. You know you sort of tough on crime direction. We'll be lucky to one that you and i talked about last time You know was the sort of untaxed cigarette enforcement that we saw. Nypd prioritize in the fact that the attorney general's office lead work either. Didn't going straight quarter. St quarter are resting people for untaxed cigarette sales tracing back though shipments of cigarettes and holding accountable shippers like ups and federal express Getting back more than hundred billion dollars the city of state so that people model is what i've talked about as i said earlier following the concert band really holding the funders of promote activity accountable But i've also talked a lot about You know my father's own trouble troubles with sobriety and make sure to lead into a diversion for substance use disorder I think it's beyond dispute that we're in the middle of mental health crisis and using our mickle health resources in diverting people and then and in some of the cases of meet most father ran homeless shelters the way we've criminalized poverty whether it's the homeless person that taken up to season sub we okay. He's from summer. That was prosecuted or The homeless person who the da's office recommended in term of five to ten years. Were you know buying food and to face with the counterfeit bill. i mean. that's just those are knock them all mattis for me And and we need to use other tools and the government tool kit address them And save our criminal Carswell resources from things that really are. What would new yorkers are sitting around thinking about talking about is true public safety issues nervous and as we watch this. Vote unfold on wondering as you've talked about personal experience blending reform but also you know law enforcement Where where it's most needed in your view Did you see eric. Adams's candidacy in any sort of kindred spirit way in.
