"They will sell sloppy at times in possession. That is sort of played into that sort of atmosphere, which you don't need when you play against a side like that. So I'd say I have to give them credit. Obviously disappointed because it's only one one. But this should have a really confidence going to all traffic because of the teams have won there as well. The thing is, at this level, and we saw, this is where you get found out. This is where you limit your limit as a team or as an individual or if you're good enough or not enough for this level, it shows. And I think collectively we saw on Wednesday night that even a Atlético Madrid team that had been in crisis at time this season I lost four in a row in La Liga is still collectively on that game so young ones and I better than the united team that is still searching for whatever identity they have or whatever collective strength they have. There's no way goes now the rule of the Argo is gone, which I'm very happy with by the way. So that means that before the goal would have had a much bigger good. Yeah, for sure. Influence. How do you see that second leg? The three weeks to go so a lot of things can happen. A lot of things can happen. I think there's a Manchester Derby before as well. Big games coming up. That could be that could be a very significant week two weeks for Manchester United in general. Everything could be graphed. But the second leg that atmosphere at the metropolitan law is very unique playing against that let's go Madrid under Diego Simeone with the passion and drive and all that in the Champions League. You can see in the league is not one time for them. But a foreign rival coming in a club the size of man united that can be real, really. Yeah, definitely. And I think for Atlético, their style of play, like, you said it there, this identity, they have an identity, it's a very, very clear and obvious one is the type thing you don't want to come up against if you're not in the best form because it's safe, let's go score the first goal of Old Trafford. I could see that just being the end of the game. And it could be like a miserable atmosphere there. So I think I'm going to say, I think the first, I think the first goal is going to be key. It might not necessarily be decisive, but I think it will be keen to style because let's go get it, they can revert to their identity. Whereas if you know how to get out, let's go maybe have to change theirs and try and push on a bit more. And that probably doesn't play for their strength. So I think it will be an interesting game, and you hope that both sides are probably in better form as you come into it. So it makes them better game. But if I was the united guy, which I hope to never be. I was like, don't expect it to be an easy game, purely because you're at home now. You've got the because it's going to be very soft because it's knock out the champions. There's something that has to something has to change for united in the attitude. Maybe in the lineup as well. So we talked about right back. I mean, I don't know what Harry Maguire is doing on the draw of Felix goal. In terms of man marketing him, we know the answer pieces united have struggled this season. Or is it me being too harsh? No, no, no. I don't think you've been too harsh because I think as far as football goes every time a goal is considered you can look back and see where you could have done better. You can't always guarantee that they won't score because at the end of the day the goals are as wide as they are because they want to see goals. But he's very flat footed. I think somebody is stealing a march on you to get a free header as such from across which seems like everybody knows it's coming in. I think that's a significant problem because you should be able to sense that danger a bit better and I think with that, you need to either try and potentially be closer to him from the get go and bump and affect his run like corners and blocks like that. Or just drop a yard and take the space away, but from the moment you see that space there is going to encourage the ball to come and it's going to encourage somebody to make the run. And you can only react. And when you're reacting like that, you're hoping that somebody misses, but as you are Felix, it's a great ball in. So hoping it was going to miss, isn't necessarily going to be like a good long-term strategy for you I'd say. No. That's right. That's right. I still think there's problem defensively for united and Lindelof, even sure last night under pressure, the inability at times to beat the price. I mean, I really thought it was so easy to press them. And at least you haven't done it that well this season. And yet they come up against United. And yeah, you're right. They fired up. This is the best game. They turn it on when they had to. Yeah. I agree. And I think at times there's human nature as a human element to this year, like some of the teams who we see who always break the press that I argue that inhuman, because when the pressure is on, you worry about making a mistake. When you worry about making a mistake, you start to say less chances. So you'll start going longer, but then that means you sort of taken away three, four players from the game who potentially would have wanted the ball, and then you played something which isn't essentially your strength. Like playing out from the back in my opinion, especially when you're being impressed requires a lot of character, a lot of technique as well. So you can have the technique, but if you don't have the character, it's not going to work, and then the moment one or two of you don't have that matching character, then it all falls to pieces. The intent could be there. And some of the same plate here play that play wherever. Of course. That's not going to go well. And that's why in my opinion, so many turnovers, and it's just and sloppiness as well. And once that starts, the thing is play is always start well, start well, start well. But when you don't start worse, there's right now I've got to try and find my way back to level. But then you start doing things which you shouldn't be doing. You see Fernández in that first class. Trying too hard. Yeah, I've gone all the way too many times. I'm going to try and just keep it simple now. I'm just going to focus in on that. But when football is the easiest, that's the case with most things when you just automatically not even thinking about it. But you see for some large United players, they were worried about consequences of things going wrong. Should they make the wrong passion, they make the wrong move. And as a consequence, there's just nowhere near as good as they could have been. If they knew that they trusted their identity, trusted what should be happening. You could basically just do it with their eyes closed. One of the thing with Bruno is so he gave the ball away I think 13 times just in the force in the first half where he is just not working for him. But then he wins you to get you the equalizer in a way with a great board for a longer or Ronaldo, not really sure why he's doing trying to and then a black I think is far from good in goal on that goal. However, the board from Bruno is perfect. So you almost acknowledge as a coach or even as a fan or whatever, that yet it will take a lot of risk and it will give.

"No, I wasn't enjoying it at all. I think I wasn't enjoying it because Manchester United barely touched the ball in the first half. Was there only a beachside property like beachside property? And then you're like, at what point is the cliff I'm living on going to collapse? That's why I didn't enjoy it. Everyone was like, oh, wow, look amazing. Look, that cliff that house might fall into the sea, but it's not so much fun if you're living in the house. And the first one. Yeah, because my agitation in this game. Don't forget that Chelsea can't manage that very early and very acutely. And they came down the left hand side with an absolute reckless abandon because they must have identified that one basket is extremely good at defending, but the right side as a whole is not so good at playing out. And they targeted that Flank like nothing else. So even though Rhys James has been outstanding fallback for Chelsea, he didn't have that much of the ball in the first 25 minutes half hour. It's all down the left. And I got nervous because Callum Hudson odoi was basically Chelsea's probably most informed playmaker. Against a struggling Flank for us, and the reason I didn't fully enjoy this game is because by the time we started doing well, I was still so stressed I couldn't really relax. So that's why I did enjoy it. It's not that we didn't do lots of great things. That was my very specific reaction to proceedings. I found the astronaut for this game quite interesting because one more of those Chelsea chances goes in and I think people are talking about this game in a very different way. I'm already different. I'm already talking about the game in that way. Just because of the Chelsea first of all credit to them, outstanding start. The first 15 minutes in particular is so good. So good. The attacking quality, the combinations, the isolation, the where they.

"So there is this uprising, essentially, against the forces of globalization and soccer, there is this enormously messy backlash, right with Manchester now the epicenter of it and then last month. Probably the single biggest global icon in the entire sport suddenly becomes available on the open market. How does christiano Ronaldo a guy who basically began his pro career with united more than a decade ago? But a guy who seemingly would also represent everything those old school united fans would hate. How does that guy wind up back at Old Trafford? He is looking to leave Juventus. And there's a lot of speculation that he will land at Manchester City. That just would have been a bridge too far, frankly for united fans. If their club didn't have the money or the wherewithal to go after a player who'd gotten his start at United, who long talked with deep, affection about united, if that guy was allowed to go to man city than what really are we doing here? And so united just couldn't let that happen. But right, what's so on the nose about this is that when you talk about a stateless entity. Oh, explain Ronaldo and his celebrity and how it is transcendent in all of these ways. Ronaldo is, I mean, more corporation than a person. My favorite stat is that he has 14 million more Instagram followers than there are human beings in the United States. No. Right, it's remarkably jarring to be like, you know, I think I have a good handle on who famous people are and then using that Cristiano Ronaldo has over 340 million Instagram followers. I didn't know that number could fit on the page. I mean, might be the most famous person on the planet. He's definitely in the top 5 and I would argue that he's the most famous person on the planet. Yeah. And his whole lifestyle is made possible by the fact that he can just bounce from nation to nation. Whoever has the biggest paycheck, a sub zero refrigerator keeps his ionized water the same temperature, whether it's in Turin or Manchester or Madrid. And so that guy, the guy who started his pro career with man united in 2003, the guy who played their till 2009 before leaving for Real Madrid and becoming the guy astride global soccer capitalism, he is now with man united once again. And how does the city react to that news? I mean, you know there's traffic signs that tell commuters like how long the weight is. Those traffic signs in Manchester when I got there on Thursday, said welcome home CR7. I mean, the place is going crazy. They're selling 50 $60 million worth of jerseys. You can't buy the jerseys were sold out. I mean, I went to the team store they were out of them. The anxiety produced by the Super League and the hope produced by the signing of Ronaldo as opposed to being contradictory or actually sort of the same thing. I mean, if you go back to the history of the club, if you go back to Munich, it is always been about morning something that was lost, fearing something that might be lost and hoping that something new and beautiful Mike rise again. I mean, that's the thing that ultimately, I finally understood was that these things I saw as being in conflict have always been in concert. And right, you were there in person to witness Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford, so I need to ask you about what that atmosphere and what that scene was like. After the break. So does this sound familiar? You've got one device that lets you catch the game live, another that lets you stream your favorite shows, you're watching sports highlights on your phone, and you've got your neighbor's best Friends log in for the good stuff. Well, I want to tell you about a simple way to get all that entertainment that you love without any of that hassle. And it's a great way to finally get your TV together. It's called DirecTV stream and it brings your live TV and on demand favorites together like never before. So you can watch your favorite sports, movies and shows all in one place. That means no juggling remotes, no need to buy another device ever again, really. And the best part is this. There's no annual contract. So get rid of the clutter and the confusion and get your TV together with direct TV stream. You can learn more at DirecTV dot com that is direct TV dot com. Compatible device required, content varies by package. Okay, so right, this is where my jealousy does reach a fever pitch here because in September, christiano Ronaldo did make his official return to Manchester United and the world like literally the entire world you could argue, they were more focused on this boarding event than any other at the time. And so here he is at Old Trafford with his old club, you're in the middle of it, you're there. You got good seats for this? What was that scene like? It was a privilege to be at honestly, it was nuts. They started singing before the game. I mean, we heard him a couple blocks away.

"Even reluctant to relate, I'm even reluctant to suggest that as a possible solution because that is still a sticking class to the point is when you have people in charge of the football club whose primary concern is simply the repayment of debt. And that is by far the great football owners all club owners have. They look at the financial side, but at Manchester United, it has to be reiterated that this club. Was bought as a spectacularly uncertain investment opportunity. That unfortunately with that. Then. The club was bought on an unspecified and you know it's grim because what mister Sir Alex Ferguson field because the glaze rider should came in under his watch. I think Amazon at Manchester United wrote amazes me will always blah my mind. That organization is full of people who regard themselves as business leaders, political leaders, statesmen, master, strategists, master strategists, and this is what they've created. This is they are behaving like rich kids who can't believe their inheritance. Those rich kids you meet at uni who just like, they've never experienced any kind of risk, and it's basically like everyone else's stress. They're just sunning around. They're going to get a two two and a job in the dad's like hedge fund. This is the energy because they're behaving as if there's no actual consequences for them. Like I'm kind of amazed. I will say this. There's a kind of amazement I do have there is so much wisdom in and around Manchester United about what needs to be done to take the club forward. There is so much wisdom. There are blogs, there are articles at these brilliant like some of our friends. And here's the thing. The wisdom reached the boardroom last of all. There's a word for this a kakistocracy. It's wow. When an institution is run by the worst possible leadership, the cactus deucy. We have a kakistocracy at Manchester United. We really do. I can also argue the footballing Susie dent over that. You know what I mean though, but it's like it's just with, you know, then this is why I'm like yourself, I look at so sharp and I provide critique, but at the same time, he was given a job that most people in his position would take. Steve Bruce wants the job, like this is the thing, the Manchester United job holds such way. If I got offered the arsenal job tomorrow, I'd fucking take it. Come on, let's get real. I'm not. I'm way out of my depth. A massively underqualified. Because I'd be in the arsenal dugout. It's a club that means a hell of a lot to me. It means Manchester United probably means even more to oligarch. The guy scored the winner in a European Cup final. Greatest girl probably in their history, arguably the greatest in the history of them. Yeah, the most glorious girl. Yeah, exactly. Like, he's gonna take the job. He's gonna sign a contract extension. I kind of don't really have any beef with Sasha at all. I think the thing with it is that it has been such it. It's been such a unicorn of an appointment. In terms of person, club, circumstance, outcome, that the normal rules just haven't applied to the whole thing. Right. Because it's kind of like, this is really, really disrespectful analogy. So I'm not calling social a baby, just to clarify this from the jump. But it's like when you throw a baby in a swimming pool, you know, like, and you're trying to teach them how to swim and get used to it. You know, when I was younger, you know, your parents kind of throw in swimming pool, and you kind of go under a bit and you come back up again you flow, right? It'd be like, if my parents were thrown me in the swimming pool at like three years old and all of a sudden I started doing butterfly. Yes, exactly. And just like, holy shit. He's doing butterfly. He's not doing it as quick as like an Olympic athlete. But he's still doing butterfly. We didn't expect him to do butterfly. We didn't. And we didn't expect. You didn't expect soul Shar to have the third highest one percentage in the post war at Manchester United. You didn't expect so I'll shout to secure back to back. Third place finishes for the first time since the Ferguson had left. You didn't expect soul shy to beat pep. Yeah, and I think him out think him now and again. Like, I kind of forgive everyone's point of view on social to a degree because I think it has been confusing. If he's going to be fine, I think he's his representation is going to be fine. Actually. Yeah, because even as the dust is lifted, pretty quickly because people look, people are going to. He requested to the MU TV interview, which I personally found a little bit uncomfortable but for him. But for him, I think it's brilliant for him. It actually puts a full stop under it like, yeah, things didn't work out, but Avon kind of gets the sense. You know, there's no no one would dispute even his biggest critics that he did. His best. Yeah. He'll go down as like a three year interim manager. Yeah, sure. Absolutely. That restored a lot of it and they'll be able to look at some of the football and be like, do you know what we played some great stuff there? And I think actually that will pass fairly soon. The storm will pass very soon for him. Can I.

"And I'm too like an old married couple. That'd get really cold, but the answer to your question is we are extremely dedicated to the golf, but I think Stevie and I played just last year, we played just past Thanksgiving and then we threw the towel and for Craig, as a veteran of Scottish football, did you ever play against Brian loud? I was just a kid in his heyday would love to hear what he was like to play against. Yeah, the answer is yes, because Brian loud played a great range of sight that this aid I played and eventually stopped. But he was brave as a great player, but he wasn't quite as good as his brother Michael, but his brother Michael was phenomenal. But Brian has adored by the rangers fans because along with gascoigne and so many of those mccoys and golf and quite a few foreigners he was brilliant for rangers, but we were quite lucky because we had a little Italian guy called Enrico and Noni who was saying from Torino. And he was brilliant at my mark and so when we played in the old firm, quite often we put Enrico on him and he used to do a very good job on him, but he was a fantastic footballer and a really nice guy as well. "Been a Liverpool athletic Stevie. You excited? Not really. Because athletic Madrid always shot the leaf again. Yep. I'm actually confident Liverpool can go on one of those game to be honest with you. If Liverpool can defend a halfway of what they're capable of, then they can keep a clean sheet. You know, athletic or this season so far, going forward. I was just looked at all of getting no real idea. Yeah. And I've kind of got by on little bits of inspiration. So I'm quite confident going in. I know it's going to be dour. And let Liverpool come at them. Yeah. And you know what? If you want to let a team as good as Liverpool come at you, then you'd better be prepared for maybe things may go wrong. We kind of know what we're gonna get here, don't we, Craig? Not as donors or golf cart. The way he's playing golf at the moment. I'm not playing so well, Michelle, but I think one of the problems here is for Liverpool is how the hell are they going to suck? And even at home, how are they going to call Madrid out to try to try and get them on the front foot to then use the current attack and play with the pace of salon money and getting runners from the midfield? I think that's the problem and if they do have a great moments of attacks, I think Liverpool have a can really go out because, you know, that front line is playing so well at the moment. Money looks great again. Obviously Salah is the man in form, but you've just always got to be careful against say, but I'm like Stevie, do we ever pull a plan? I'm pretty confident that go there and a much better and play much better than that the last time against the semi auto side. Where do you stand on Simeone's tactics, robo? He gets the best out of his team. I think he can be more adventurous with some of the players he's had at his disposal. You'd like to see him at home be more adventurous. They said they go up people and they get more players forward and they get their fullbacks into good attacking areas. But against Liverpool in this game, there's no way he's going to come out and play, because Liverpool are brilliant on the counter. The problem he's got this time is that I think Liverpool a plan as well as they ever have. And now they can break teams down when they sit deep as well. What for try to play 5 at the back and Liverpool just cut them apart. So I think whatever tactics he uses, Liverpool going to be the dominant side. And I think should win it. We'll be looking back at that game on the next edition of the ESPN FCP shorter joining us and also going to be reflecting well on the other big.

"This group is close, isn't it in a group a member is that last minute winner against me at Rio gave all three points. Craig, you wear a chat about this over the last couple of days and you're saying that you feel that just so shall get enough results to keep him afloat? Do you feel that those match against Atalanta could be one of those? Well, possibly, and I saw some day I was talking about how it's just this team just have a harbor of pulmonary. Last year, just to take the pressure off, look, Atalanta, I think I'll be 6 in Syria, around there. One big at the weekend against empire, there's still scoring goals. But but there have been a little bit inconsistent at the start of the season, but then a huge threat going forward and we know obviously clearly united lost for it the weekend via reaction. It took at least three a fall off from the completely outplayed them. So yeah, I honestly could throw the balls up with united. I don't know. What I don't know is, I mean, I'm not suggesting this is an easy group by Champions League standards. When this group was drawn, choked out private, it must have been rubbing his hands going, my God, but messed all the real big guys and the other side of the PSG in man city and Bayern Munich, Barcelona, even though Barcelona, not the best. So the less pressure they are to get out, there's a good sides Atalanta virile, young boys. They're not great sides. So there's a pressure I think in trying to get out of this group. Without any of the real big guns in it. Speaking of pressure, Robert, you've got to answer going there and feeling that they can get something. Well, let's run through a strange team, because if you remember performances against Liverpool last season at home, I think it was 5 nil that they lost when Liverpool counter attacked brilliantly. Manchester United might just have to sit that little bit deeper and wait for the chance to counter attack because at Atlanta a great going forward. Defensively, they have a strange system. They're back three, sometimes man for man, Mark, so if you have good movement, you have good runs and you change your position. You can cause them all sorts of problems. But it's going to be one in that central midfielder. Whoever dominates that as is often the case, I think we're dominate the game and win it. The point is, of course, we'll be back later on to answer.

"We have to make it quicker. Score once again, get one or two more goals. And after that, maybe you can slow it down. Mark Ogden running over on ESPN FC Craig made the point that can you imagine Liverpool or indeed Manchester City players or old Manchester United players coming out and saying those sort of things about their managers tactics? Ferguson these players would have been the whole squad would have been dragged in in the dark of midnight, right? And they would have been told in no uncertain terms. We are having a hard time at the moment. Bonker dough and keep your mouth shut and let's do a talking on the field. This is the last thing we're going to solve scaling needs. As you know, I'm not his biggest fan anywhere, but he's certainly doesn't need his top players coming out and talking about tactics and talking about this and talking about that. What he needs apart from performance as the players to get an address from him get on the training ground and what bloody heart to try and sort out because he's in the Maya and this is only making it worse. Bravo Pogba saying, we need to find the mentality and tactics to win. Well, the only thing that players can do is talk honestly, but they've got to honestly about themselves. You know, you can't start having because they're in a little dig at the manager about the tactics. You know, did they play as well as they could have done? Well, poppa gave the ball away cheaply on too many occasions. His recovery runs weren't quite good enough. I think he's a fantastic player, but he's not consistent enough at the moment. The defenders didn't defend well enough. Yes, I think that soldiers got problems with his tactics when things start to go wrong. He can't find a remedy for it. And they're chewing consistent with the way they play. They started off the season. The crowd behind them because Ronaldo's there. There was a lot of enthusiasm. A lot of pace and power and suddenly, when things start to go wrong, he's not sure how to solve it. Mantis united are a good side. They're not a great side at the moment. And they're going to be inconsistent. But the players shouldn't be talking like that about the manager. The thing with so far is, I think everyone agrees is a nice guy. Obviously he's come in. He studied the ship, but can you imagine him confronting Pompe or Fernandez about this should he be in a position where he would? I would assume he'll talk to him. But his quick started off by saying failure with a drug amen at midnight. It would be talking to them. He would be telling them. And people would say, that's a different time. Well, it's horses, for courses. So when things are going badly, some has to be done. Right. And if you're telling me that the only thing you can do is be really nice and talk to somebody and encourage them, then good luck trying when the Premier League or any other so, why do you think he's probably not won any silverware? Because it plays at the end of the day, no, that they can get away with stuff with him. That's what it seems like. And I can assure you experience players on the field when the game is going on, grab the team by discover the neck. And I'm talking Pogba. Pope was no kid anymore. What was an experience international guy? He's one of the guys who should be shot now on the field. And he's talking about mentality. You don't know where you're getting photographed by the man united step from one game to the next. You've got Fernandez as well. You know, we don't do this and don't do that. Well, guess what? Another one of the experience guys, you're supposed to sort those out. You've got honey Maguire. An experience international guy has been around for a fair bit now. So none of your experience guys are going to help everybody around them. You're talking about the perfect spot for the three of them. Right down the pipe. So when you go ahead, you get everybody intake, you see it rain. Nobody's getting through. Okay. They don't do that. But it's all. No, it's all these fault because they don't do that. But on the field of play, you can't turn a sea. It's not my fault. It's the money just fault because that's what they're doing. But it's a nice guy in the players like him. So, I mean, I just I don't know what can you statement that is, by the way, but you know, the other thing that I started to go back to watch the beautiful Fernandez after I really bright star and it was I spent most of the time though complaining when anybody tackled them. Oh Pogba. Paul Pogba and nearly two and a half years of Premier League football got four goals. Now there'll be people we enter that show and rub all on about starts and assess and all that. I don't want to hear it. It's nonsense. Absolute nonsense. But these are supremely talented players, but listen, what happens is when results go badly. And I'm not against people giving press conferences or not because that's part of the job that we're in and we all had to do it, but I think that a certain times, particularly difficult times when you have to be cured about who you put in front of the media. And you really have to limit that because as the siege mentality. And you don't want these stories getting out. And any little thing is going to become a massive story. And so I think it's important that source, by the way, I don't think this is biggest problem, as you know, but as a problem. And I think it's important to address this up. But to go back to the other point about a different era. Ferguson only retired in 2013. I mean, it's not that long ago. And he also managed Ronaldo and managed them pretty well. So he knew how to deal with these modern circumstance. It's not easy, but he did it as well, if not better than most. And sauce Garret just another hot dog for him to try and get over the moment, but as I said, certainly, particularly with the games coming up, not his biggest one. Robert, what's been reiterate is quite a lot on this show is when you look at Manchester United there doesn't seem to be a plan in place. It just looks like 11 individuals and there's no sense of team. How do you fix that? How do you address that on the training ground? Well, you've got to work harder on the team shape. You've got to make your patterns of play. You've got to get players working with each other. You've got to do the hard work on the defensive side of.

"Seven is one of those days some stunning news at developing story of the last twenty. Four forty eight hours. Cristiano ronaldo returns to muscle manchester united twelve years. After he last will be to traits. I'm joined on the podcast. Cast by most easy way we can get like say saving joined by contributes to show johnny higginbotham who started his career at manchester. United knows cristiana aldo. Seen him up close and personal played against him seven times and can tell us something about his development and just what stunning events. We've had over the last twenty four hours. John kennedy quite believed when we. Oh this no economy. It's it's incredible. It's my brother's birthday today. So we'll be made. The renaldo is going to the united only stable. It looks as it was going about some interest in the blue side. Not not the red side. Then it's children. How quickly it happened. I was following all and everything that was being said. All of a sudden you know you had only going to solve your hair. His press conference is very different than pep gladiolas. And all of a sudden matai. Just start to change and you know. Then then you have some reliable people coming out and saying he's going to be joining munshi. I it in then before you know it. It's it it's on that meteor count is joined in. It's it's an incredible sign. And i think you look is ability on the pitch and you know he's. He's quite rightly mentioned. In one of the greatest ever players ever to play the game people talk of him being the six but he's just the ways the ways taking care of himself. The goal speak for himself the ability that he still has you know he's probably really still appoint where he's twenty nine thirty and i think the effect is going on the younger players as well of kabbalah cuts from alive renaldo to be playing the level of he's playing at the age as he lives and breathes football. And he's going to bring that. Into the dress room mancha she unite which is already very professional room. He's just gonna take elevate the open of a level as well and i think it's i think it's a great sign and not just on the pitch for affairs. Well yeah complain you may think you know in the day. Mine just unite. You've always had vision iconic figure they've always been into the biggest players in the world wherever they are encountering all springs to mind and then the bathrooms in the gay zuma skulls The bryan robson's biblis have those stall quality so it cutting to manchester united ownership that. They've actually got there still in that because you shiny. Not just for what he brings to the team. But i think to the football club. Donnie. it takes to another level munchies. You not too big east football brand out there. And hopping cristiano. Ronaldo just takes you to another level. Just just keeps you on people's lips just keep you in people's mind and acting hugely important mines united regardless what's happening on the pitch i've always said it's impacted premier league when these a better manchester united one hundred percent on one of the things that we've seen over recent seasons has been the with heard a lot of talk about place potentially going to mention i it and then he just falling flattened not happening and i think if you look at the business that they've done a season you know you look look at sancho look renaldo. They've gone out and got the job done. And i think one of the frustrations the united suppose over recent seasons is the true certain extent. They've been have been left behind with some of the signs of the talk globes. There's been no real method behind. The sign is that they've made whereas if we look at signs that they have made recently. You won't be slate. Take renaldo equation. But he's a special player. Majority of the plays younger play is not quite out the peak year. And there's the soul of an identity to the team going forward on. Just think when you sign some light rinaldo. I think the effect that he can have on the likes of rush. The likes of green with the likes of sun show. I think he's i think he's going to be huge effect. The fact that he still has the ability he's not coming just for a payday is a play. The wants to still win things. You can see hongbo. Even when he was playing seasons the eventless in always demanding of his teammates. And i think hold top clubs. Have that rub you. Played against the top munches unites aims. An an i did as wellness out and the demands that each of those players put some nights. Teammates is what drives them on. And i think it was someone i rinaldo. He's going to demand that from his teammates and dot can only be a good thing. Because then you're gonna have plays the are going to be dragged along with him which is going to be brilliant. You're gonna have buys are going to be left by the wayside because they haven't got that thought mentality guests to be in a primarily fights when the tile thanks a really good point nine two. But i'll actually answer it. I can't believe it bec-. Because i i don't know i just kinda thought especially in this window after sancho and veron with what united have with what we have been led to believe you know their their financial situation is not. They're not man city. They're not psg so they've got a lot of money they do but like they don't have infinite money no dare in that. They're in that elite spot but they're not in the infinite money spot which is occupied by chelsea manchester city. And but it's amazing to me We spoke just a few days ago. Italy getting ready for the first match of the european soccer championships. Friday night at the study olympico. Italy against turkey. And it's going to kick off. You're covering a tournament that is technically the twenty twenty euros because this whole thing got spohn because of the pandemic and i just wanted to. Have you explain what the euros are. Exactly why they're such a big deal. What is inside of this time machine that we're operating with. It's a great point pablo because literally as soon as you land in europe. The site edge is still all twenty twenty. I mean they're calling the tournament the twenty twenty euros everywhere. You go the t shirts. The stadium signed edge. Everything is from last year. I guess you know. Obviously this is a billion dollar enterprise tournament but they didn't have enough in the budget for you know renewed seionage. Does Manchester United Need to Win Trophies?

"I one of the big story lines. The weekend was manchester. United being eliminated from yet another competition only gone on social and inevitably those comments that he made in the lead up to the milan game. Have once again. Being scrutinized just remind what he has to say in the league position. You see if you're progressing really. And sometimes in the cup tournaments he might be lucky or unlucky. Withdraws gains the sided on different factors. of course we're aiming to win trophies but as we said sometimes a trophy can hide. What's happening the club. But sometimes it's more of an ego thing from other managers and crabs to finally win something we've got about two thousand eighteen just talking about what happens on the pitch and offer the manchester united set. Playing performance doesn't really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business magden scathing today in his article on. Espn see if both the manager and executive vice chairman suggest that the basic premise of winning trophies isn't the primary y'all of success low traffic. It should be no surprise if the message seats through to the plans and they go on to fall. Short in the quarters and semi's as they have made a habit of doing under socia- i feel drawn to you first to defend your boy. I don't think i have to defend him. I think that gonna soldier knows from his time as a player that the only thing that counts matches united states to win trophies. But i don't think these kind of statesman's makes him make him any favors on another statement as well saying that when the percents that sponsorship deal by jim company they they said you had phenomenal success at the club which has taken him to another level. You had twenty one gain snow two losses two weeks ago. The beat my city away this one of the favorites in the champions league but having said that that game against less than that was so sad to watch is was three goals that gave away. I mean you couldn't see how they wanted to play the game. The first goal that wanted to play out on it back. That is nicely city doing that matches. United can't do that. Maguire given the ball to fred terrible game losing the ball so many times before loss on on their on the on the skull. And i and i think that those kind of statements mansions united should be happy that there are no fans at the stadium because masses united. In my time in don's time it was all about winning trophies on should be now at this moment as well and this is a big big problem. Isn't it don. If you're social you come out with these sort of comments. You all manchester united's manager and like it or not. That bar is being set extremely high over the years and no matter how much you talk about improvement and places and players what you will be judged by is trophies and at the moment he hasn't got any should pay for any football club your manager of man united. When we're very big comes in the world you have to pride yourself on winning trophies all getting really close to them and the statement was a bizarre one in my opinion. I don't know why he felt zo yet to say trophies of egos have no idea what that meant and then we'll have seen over the last six months or a bit longer. Is he tries to be a little bit. Clever ali arrested loads players against sheffield united in the primer league. Lost that game. He rested loads. Plaza gets picked us in the champions league lost game. Don't exactly the same no against last weekend. I don't know why is the of them replaced with a little bit of a bright coming up in the end. The bring four big off the branch. And i'm not just at the end trying to rescue the game but he set himself up for failure. If you come out with those sorts statements lots give players inch. They'll take yard and of very very inconsistent. At the moment.

Milan grab draw at Manchester United

"What happened in the league games today and starting with manchester united's one all draw with me. It means milan will be taking a crucial away. Goal into the second game. Incensio on the eighteenth of march. Paulie shaw said. Afterwards his side were a bit slow in possession. He say's a draw was a fair result. Would you agree john. I wouldn't care. Now melania rob dot brand. Cassie goal was that i thought poundstone hip go away. We will the united us. Right in terms of how slow in possession they. They were really lethargic. They couldn't get going dion by the difference when he came off the bench and scored a fantastic goal fernandez yet. Another assist but that play in general was quite weak was quite slow. I thought on wax. And i've got to say with milan patched upside that that came away from home with six or seven major players injured. I thought they put a real good performance. Should it came away with the win. Within a mind frank the fact that manchester united were home and were against a depleted milan site. Did you expect more from them. Well yes but we know melanie. Sorry manchester united is better. Maybe away from home. When do you don't have to lead the game. I want agree with dawn. I think my gwalior and gyms had two beautiful to to to make manchester united winning that game. I think only for me. A fair result is true. That should have been a penalty for a for milan and kia and the of the day. I think it's it's a. It's a fair. Result is a deserving draw for boss team and nothing much to say. But it's not it's not done for million for the second leg because we know that message. It will be more dangerous away from home that they've been traveled. They will be dangerous away from home. We know how good their away record is but milan were missing some place. What if they come back and then they have them at home to. Do you feel for them. Not fear for both of these. Who's actually going to go ahead and win this game over two legs i was. I was disappointed. I was disappointing. Stray off the bat and so two teams. So that probably didn't help me actually watching again because if you look at a short almost looks like it may have been a decent game. I didn't enjoy this at all. Quite honestly i think i'd rather put neither say disaster. When as opposed to either say deserve the draw so i wasn't my cup of tea whatever to deplete incites lopez. Enjoyable horrible may win hole and rain coming down now for me.

"The public United have had a marine Neo under van how the Moyes has been the transfer policy and their manager of the structure of the club, which is huge. If we got director of football, and I think associated stay if we don't guy director for And in. they've got to bring in somebody much more experienced. I don't think so then I know he beat Spurs. Why still think watches the man to go to really think he's I think he's a top notch? Coach he's done wonders with that club. It gets it wrong on occasion. But with the budget. He's got Levy whose literally the worst worst. And to be Frank. Our our in terms of getting deals done. But when he wants to get player, he gets a I think you get parts those strings, I think some serious serious. Magic happen. Does. That mean, I don't wanna only absolutely no I loved the only the passive fairytale. I think there's much more to it so complex nowadays. You see it's they've United gonna make a sensible. Speed around ideal transfer for Manchester United to get you guys back into the title race next year ideal transfer. I don't have an ideal transfer right now, I think I'm I don't think one person coming in is going to do every day. I think we were we will stage where everything he was either going to continue it or you blow it blow it up. All we came in change, the culture, which was one of the biggest things that we needed players like players are actually advocating for him to stay and piggyback on Chris results aren't going to be the reason why stays. But it helps him build a case. His resume resume. What this a lot more factors that come into the situation. And I don't think a one buying a star player is going to do anything. Even the league. This is a completely, hyper. Hi fi properly. Nobil back home. It's it's not going to do anything. I think there's a lot more available to the situation that I don't I can't say that a big transformation of doing this. It has to do with director football. It has to do with player the place. We currently have the manager. Because even as doing good. What happens if you know at the I Haley great streak, but see you later love, you know, what's going to happen. But I I just can't see one transfer coming in changing anything. Okay. Amman same. Yeah. I think seemed dogs you look at the site that I had put out a few years ago. Like, they'll be you. You would probably find it three or four last players. But. The rest of them were like decent. And they would like work as players who could like beat anyone on the day. But okay, is is was just about him and managing knowing what you can do and managing whatever he has with him. And I think that's a motive. And we have a good squad. We don't have a V scored society. This is good eight good. Yeah. It's good. It's passing. Yeah. It's it's not great. But it's not like averages. So I think couple of like changes. And I think I think we'll be fine for the next season. All right. Great. Well, guys, I have two last questions firem- away where my answer one of them. I'm a blank slate American fan and.
