"Washington. WWWTFM Manassas, WTLP FM Braddock Heights, Frederick. Traffic and weather on the 8th starting with Rita. Well we're seeing unusual delays eastbound on Dulles the toll road pretty much off and on from 28 making your way toward the main toll plaza. All of this is because of the crash that happened in the Dulles access lanes. If you're getting in those lanes you're not going to be able to get past the Fairfax County Parkway even though the crash happened all the way towards Spring Hill Road near the Beltway. Now the left side of the main toll lanes remains blocked near the toll plaza as response is there on the scene for what is now a crash investigation. We also had the earlier problem northbound 395 near Boundary Channel Drive. That has cleared your delays on 395 off and on out of Springfield headed past Glebe Road then Solid from the Pentagon headed into the district onto the freeway from the other direction it's very slow getting to the 11th Street Bridge. Southbound DC 295 it's its slow length from the BW Parkway and Route 50. I -295 northbound slows off of the Beltway. That Beltway begins delay back near Branch Avenue headed toward Laboratory Road then after Joint Bay's Anacostia Bowling headed on to the 11th Street Bridge. Callers report the crash southbound 29 after Lockwood Drive in the right lane and the interloop of the Beltway between the Springfield Interchange and Braddock Road. "We're looking at comfortable conditions, that's cool though, I should say that, with mainly clear skies and we are tracking the increase of some cloud cover later this afternoon. So although we'll start off clear and dry, we will look for mostly cloudy skies to develop as we head into the afternoon or partly mostly cloudy, kind of a mixed sky. And then a whole temperatures back this afternoon are going to only go for a high of about 60 degrees, our average high closer to 70 for time this of year. Now, through the latter half of the day an isolated sprinkler shower cannot be ruled out, so just keep an eye out for that for isolated sprinkle chance. Otherwise, temperatures in the 40s to near the low 50s. Tomorrow, wise, a partly sunny day, I'd say a tad milder than today, low and maybe some middle 60s we're if lucky. Still below average but stepping in the right direction. And then by Wednesday, partly sunny, pushing closer to the upper 60s, 70s by Thursday and Friday. Each morning we'll start off cool. Our next weathermaker does arrive late Thursday into Friday that could bring with it the chance for some scattered showers late Thursday, late Friday rather, into early Saturday Saturday morning, but the timing on that still obviously can adjust as we head through time, so we'll be keeping an eye on that as we Otherwise, move forward. let's start off with a cold start to the morning. If you step out the door, don't forget a jacket down to 39 degrees. Currently in Gaithersburg at this hour, just dropped to 37 in Manassas, yep, and 44 right now for our friends in Upper Marlboro. Accumulating Snow, Wintry Mix Expected This Week in Washington DC Area
"Some winter stuff out of Sergeant. Yeah. Sean Rowan, tracking two rounds of wintry weather for the rest of the work week. And then another storm system looks to impact the region over the weekend Now, Right now we're looking at mainly clear skies here in the metro area, more clouds north and background. The idea one quarter and that's being reflected. Temperatures, but based on the ground position, we could have a really nice sunset tonight. Sunset time now at about 5 40, with lows tonight in the mid twenties to low thirties were drawing during the day tomorrow. But during the evening hours snow showers move into the area and a wintry mix will develop in spots around the metro region, South and east as a snow moves in and continue in spots. South and east overnight on into Thursday morning, North and west of the Metro. This is looking like mainly just snow with high temperatures tomorrow in the mid thirties toe low 40 So again that first round tomorrow night through the mid day hours on Thursday, accumulations generally speaking right now. About 1 to 3 inches. Isolated amounts could be higher north and west of the Metro up to four inches or more of that first round. The second round is then. Thursday night through Friday morning, this round looks to be all snow with additional accumulations of about 1 to 3 inches, bringing our snowfall totals to about 5 to 8 inches by Friday morning. So this is a long duration event with breaks in the action, meaning you'll be able to get out and about but will also be dealing with slick roads at times with highs Thursday, only in the low to mid thirties. Friday, we warmed to around 30 and then Saturday and Sunday high temperatures back. Yeah, I should say remaining in the thirties, and it looks like we'll have a storm system, moving in later Saturday into Sunday. With a wintry mix right now in the books for that system.
