What's Killing My Tomato Plants?

"David is having some real trouble with tomatoes. He says, his tomato leaves are wilting at the very top of the leaf and then a few days later they start turning a botchy blotchy black, and then about a week after that, they start dying altogether he's lost forty tomato plants this way and he wants to know what you think he can do about it. Now his problem and mine are very different. And I I laugh only because the difference mine were just flat out eating they were perfectly healthy. Not a spot on them. Numb David's problem is very different and it sounds like he may have a problem with them called Sept. Oria leaf spot I kinda wish I could talk to David at this point. But at the same time I have to make some assumptions I'm going to guess. That in you have to deal with prophylactic in considering containing many many diseases you have to prevent it. That's the big word. Prevention starts by buying plants have been what's called indexed for V F and that's virus cerium, wilt and Nematodes, and that on top of those three comes one called sectorial leaf spot. And it's a plant where I'm going to Bet David got a busy started his seedlings either indoors or planted the seeds early they grew like topsy. We had plenty of moisture in sunshine this spring for them to just have really rebelled now then. That makes for a plant has softer skin. So to speak, which is good in many ways, however, it allows or organic disease germs. If you will to jump onto them, start to grow enter through the softer skin or or flashier leaf if you will and away they go when he's lost that many I'm going to bet he's using the same spot in the garden. For them more than one year that could leave Satori spores right there. Waiting to get into a new plant each year I have to guess 'cause it can't ask. But with that kind of loss which which is now significant when you have that many plants gone he he will probably have to. Say shelter in place as the rest of us are doing ovid for right now I don't think there's anything you can do at this point other than to spray the plants that are healthy with a fun side. Now, Mark was head of the game here with it being an email, he was able to look up on his electronic skills of a new material for me. It's it's a fund, your side called serenade something I don't know a thing about, but that is the Mamie found then we go. Back to I do know about and that is material hang on now called Chloro- Fallon Nil C. H. L. O. R. O., T. H. A. O., and I along name for a good good funchess is however with all fungal materials you have to prevent them if you can't really do much once they have gotten going. So right now I am afraid his forty plants are probably shop period. The best thing to do would be jerk him outta there Burnham or or get them in the trash and off the property. Then year by all means plant the tomatoes in a new spot even if you have to repair the area because it can carry over into soil splash backup on the young tender new leaves and start the process. So it's going to go into a then once he gets them planted hopefully in a new spot or better spot that he will then start as soon as there are significant leaves. Now, by that, let's just say the seedling is six inches tall eight inches tall it's out in the garden at. This point then is when you start spraying, you put a fund aside on the leaves up under the leaves down the stem, the whole that so that you can keep the spores from this disease from getting started in the first place. Then because the material does weaken with time sunlight, we ended a cetera he's GonNa have to spray every seven to ten days to keep a fresh coating of close. Ellendale et Cetera eating good common fund side we'll help. But at the same time, that's one of the better ones.

Solar Orbiter Snaps Closest Pictures Ever of the Sun – Reveals New “Campfires” Phenomena

"With summer here. Most of the news about our home star. The sun most likely will involve sunscreen right And that's something we should all be paying attention to. But scientists are also paying close attention to the surface of the sun, because despite it being so ever present, we still have a lot to learn about the sun. And they have just announced that the solar orbiter a satellite orbiting the sun has just sent back Some photos of surprising events on the sun's surface. Here to talk to us about these new images is Aneke to Groove instrument operation scientists for these solar orbiter she's based in Madrid, Spain, and joins us today. By Skype. Welcome to science Friday. No, I believe that these are the closest direct images of the sun's surface. Is that right? That's correcting the There has never being cameras actually observing the sum from that close, So we have had satellites going closer, but never with images never with telescopes. So tell us this being a radio program when you looked at those images. What air So what was that surprising thing you saw on the surface of the sun? Well, so first. We were really excited to see these first images because these are really the very first day that we got from the satellite. S so it's even just test images still, but we could already see new features. So about what we saw, Mamie was in the B imager. So that is a telescope that is looking at the Somme in extreme ultraviolet light. You cannot see that from worth because the atmosphere is blocking it. But we can see it from space. And so there you see part of the atmosphere that some the solar Corona and that atmosphere is currently very quiet. There's not that much activity on the sun. But now it turned out when we're resuming in that we see very little eruptions, which are much, much smaller than the ones we can usually see. And so this was quite a surprise because we have never seen these features before. And they were called campfires. If I'm reading this correctly, yes, because indeed they looked like this little flashes or flames off off light on DH. Actually, they they look like the many, many brothers ofthe solar flares and solar flares are much bigger eruptions off. Off radiation from the sun, and sometimes they also cause clouds ofthe solar plus muscle solar material That leaves the sun and so this thing to be And micro thin air. So to state so very small eruptions. That's kinda interesting. Do we know anything about Thies? Small eruptions? Ah, and how do we study these further? Well, so that's one of the strength ofthe solar orbiter that he does not only have these camera either has many different telescopes in total six, which will all observe the son of different wavelengths, so you see slightly different temperatures on the sun and slightly different lives. So the next bit will be to analyze these new features. In all those different types of light tto find out what exactly is happen and then we also have sensors which are measuring the environment on the spacecraft. And they can see what's actually coming out of the sun. So the effects ofthe these little activity on the environment of the sun and later also on Earth. So tell me, though, What mysteries you are most interested in and finding out more. About what? What keeps you up at night? Well, One thing that we are really excited about is that Salaam better will also look at the solar poles. So the North Pole and this house full of the sun, and we have never ever seen this before. We also don't know whether there's any activity going on there or how to some structure at these north and South pole, and this is important to wonder. Somehow, all these activity hurts. Because the sun has an activity cycles. It's not always as active. It has times several years where it's quite quiet, which is now the period we are in now and then we expect in two or three years from now there will be more solar activity. There will be some what we call solar storms. So this is the time when the sun is very exit, and then it will go back to a quieter stage. And we don't really honest that how that works, and we think that one of the keys Lie with the solar poles. So that's the part I'm most excited about. You know, I never thought about the sun having polls. I know that the Earth has polls. What creates the poles on the sun? Also, when I talk about poles, I talk mainly about the magnetic poles. So the son has a magnetic field while the earth magnetic things one me the North Pole and assess full But on the sonnets are much more complicated because there's magnetic field gets completely tangled. And this is actually what causes the activity and what causes this cycle in food.

The Future of Restaurants During COVID-19

"But of all the places we like to gather now shutdown by this pandemic restaurants are also some of the hardest hit so today. We're going to talk to people in the industry. The chefs the restaurant tours to find out what they're trying to do to survive for them for us for everyone. I'm Dr Sanjay Gupta. Cnn's chief medical correspondent and this is corona virus fact versus fiction restaurants. Sort OF BOTTLE. The zeitgeist their community. And it's where people celebrate as not just about eating. That's David Chang. He's a chef and the founder of the momofuku group which has restaurants around the world. He's also the host of the Netflix show ugly delicious if food establishments were important. People wouldn't want it so badly. There's just somethin'. That is a connection to just being human besides tasting delicious foods. Chang calls restaurants quote cultural banks and worries about the erosion. This pandemic has had on all aspects of the dining experience. We literally take ninety percent of cash flowing. Give it back to everybody else. On top of trying to make delicious food and build organizations however small they might be no one gets in this business at least that. Iron Meyer so they can make a ton of money they do it because of the life and the positive impact you can have both on yourself and others around you and you that away that that. That's that's going to be pretty brutal closing. His restaurants in March was extremely difficult. He had to furlough around. Eight hundred workers in this week decided to close to of his restaurants reopening others. Maybe even harder. You have to reconfigure literally every decision of how you operate in a restaurant. It was hard enough to begin with. How do you taste food? How you order food. How do you sanitize now? How do you do contact with delivery? You even allowed transaction via credit cards anymore. So now you there's like all of these things now that are going to be expensive. Chang doesn't have the answers yet. But he thinks he knows what it's GonNa take. Define I just think that we're going to need some ingenuity and creativity to sort of align some mutual problems that we have in this country particularly in the food space and sort of reconfigure. How this whole works on his twitter feed. Chang has also been asking people to send him photos of reopened restaurants in cities like Taipei and Hong Kong. It's fascinating to look at them. Some of the photos show. Police Systems delivering coffee. Temperature checks at the door and customers. Even receiving full body disinfectant sprays. Don't worry with their clothes on too many. These measures may seem a little over the top. The common thread is we have to actually make impossible hap and that gives me optimism really genuinely does because these kinds of impossible tasks that sort of her. My brain are what I most attracted to. And we can't have anyone working off a different playbook everyone needs to be working the same playbook every restaurant every business in the absence of a so called restaurant playbook the National Restaurant Association which is a lobbying group is doing what it can to try and offer some guidelines for reopening obviously frequent hand washing some element of distancing some element of face covering certainly reduced interaction between the host. And the guest. That's Larry Lynch Senior Vice. President of Science and Industry at the National Restaurant Association Lynch said it's already begun. Restaurants are already testing out new methods. Everyone's looking visit different ways just this weekend. We saw one of the towns here in Florida. Closed down one of their street to the restaurant. Tours could pull the chairs out into the street. If you're used to going out as being a curated. Dining Experience Lynch describes the post pandemic world as sort of a safety focused obstacle. Course I would say what you're probably GonNa find is before you get there. You're going to look online and look what the instructions are in that particular restaurant what their expectations or. It may tell you to wait outside. May Ask you to place your order online. It may tell you that once you get outside. Send them attacks and let them know. You're outside wait once you're inside. You may wait a bit before the waiter or waitress actually comes up and greets you greeting maybe something as simple as confirming your order rather than taking your order. Once you die. You may find that your table is included as fasces. Wasn't it passed. It's going to be cleared all at once rather than sporadically during the dining experience. When you're dining probably won't see the manager come over to ask how your view was and whether or not you enjoyed yourself. Restaurants are going to have to tailor safety measures to suit their capabilities and it is possible. Not everyone can physically accommodate these recommendations for example Irene. Lee doesn't see her Boston. Restaurant may may hosting sin diners anytime soon. We're a small restaurant so we have about thirty six seats. Which means the possibility of socially distancing inside the building is basically none but Lee. Who was a finalist for this years? James Beard Rising Star Chef Award has still managed to find a silver lining. We are pretty much going to have to change our whole model which sounds scary but is also a really exciting opportunity. So how do we re imagine what a restaurant can be? Water restaurant can do what restaurant staff are capable of Lee in her employees are already starting to answer those questions. For example her restaurant may may is open for delivery and is also hosting virtual dumpling classes. The restaurant is delivering groceries to healthcare workers and selling pantry staples to the community like milk and eggs. The goal to help customers avoid the grocery store because I think supermarkets are going to feel unsafe for a lot of people for a long time and I just think like we have the ability to get almost any of those products probably at a better price at Mamie and so it would be kind of unconscionable to not try to use that to help keep people safer and to make their lives more. Convenient Lee is taking this time to rethink how a restaurant should operate. And she's hoping the industry is a whole does the same especially in the areas where it was struggling even before the pandemic. I think that this is a huge opportunity for us to keep talking about the biggest issue that our industry house which is Labor on the issue of jobs and low wages and like terrible workplace environments. That is always been the bane of this industry. I am hoping that the compensation model could be altered and cross training could become more prevalent. But that's the long term in the short term lease preoccupied with just keeping may may afloat even though she says. The survival of the restaurant isn't her biggest concern. If mamie doesn't exist in in five or ten years that's totally fine with me. I'm going to be really pissed off if there are no cool. Independently owned quirky restaurants to eat at like I cannot eat every day I refuse and so I think that for me. The question about Future is almost a little bit less important but for a lot of people in this industry is all we have one thing I've learned. Is that the restaurant. Industry is full of dedicated creative leaders and is someone who enjoys dining out. I'm optimistic. They're going to find ways to meet the challenges ahead and keep this important part of our culture alive. It's definitely GONNA be an uphill battle but I'm GonNa do what I can to support my favorite places with takeout orders and contributions to out of work employees. They could really use the help

Have Our Moving Plans Changed? And Are Our House Sales Derailed?

"Now. We know this is not a snow day. Everyone listening we completely understand. We have totally been doing our best to make the best of it while completely being at home but it is funny. How the second you hear something like well. Maybe it means I can do this. And then there's the bargaining in denial and then find. What are we settling to acceptance? Is that the last one. Maybe I mean I think I've accepted that. Like the best thing we can do right now is just stay put so it does mean that our whole plan for moving to Florida is kind of a question mark. I mean we still are going to do it. We own a house down there. That is a definitive thing and this house is sold so we have to be out of here in a certain amount of time. I think what it has turned into is that I thought maybe two weeks ago before this happened. I was kind of frustrated like we only get one week during spring. Break to work on this house and everything else has to be remote and maybe we could steal away to like do a long weekend or something with leaving the kids here with the grandparents but generally it was going to be like a long distance remodel and this tight time line where we were like we have to get the house back to livable. June fifteenth moving goal young. And can I interject just to remind people why it is not livable? Because this House that we bought is a fixer upper. It currently does not have any working bathrooms because it only has one bathroom in that bathroom does not have a sink in it. I mean I guess it has a toilet. It's not hooked up to water though like we are actively going through like getting connected to the sewer and water system right like we need to use the city's municipality and like sign form to get it. It's not just like turn it on on the street. It's like involves a number of experts. Getting water to the House again. Doesn't have a water heater so even if we got water to the House we couldn't take showers until we had the water heater hooked up. There are holes in the floor. Which makes it sort of dangerous to walk around. So we have to patch those. Oh and has h back so obviously can't vote Florida in June without air conditioning. Yes I mean it has. One just doesn't work right. So we're we're working on all of the systems from faraway away. But what I was GonNa say is like I went from a few weeks ago being frustrated I only had spring break and it felt hard to do this long distance but as of right now it feels like I lost the spring break trip and I just you know previous me was like Mamie only get spring break it now like current me like I don't even get once we went through the phases of realizing this is all going to change and our expectation for what's going to happen and the plan for it and the timeline we had like so carefully thought through is just completely obliterated like in all honesty. We have no idea what's going to be able to get done. How quickly it's going to be able to get done and so right now like it may mean that we move at a different time than we were planning to. It may mean that we move to a different place temporarily because if we can't get the house ready for us in time maybe we have to go to a long term rental temporarily so I just don't know like I think we were driving ourselves crazy a little bit last week and trying to think through all these scenarios and I found I guess a lot of just like peace in the acceptance of I'm not going to be able to figure it out right now like the unknowns are so great at this point that I should just let go of that for now and just roll with it like I think this whole year. I've been talking about my personal journey. Our wishes what of like dealing with letting go of plans or changing plans. That is true. That's been a theme for John. Yes we can pay that. We don't have to be like doing what we said. We'd do ten years ago because we're following the path that previous set ten years ago. Yes and so. This is a crash course in it right now. If I had prepared myself I have to learn it now. Basically well I was just GonNa say I also think in the midst of like. Oh this stinks. The timeline is so sad like what if we had already been in there and we could use this time to paint and like feather or nests. There are so many other times that if this happened it would be easier. But I'm also reminding myself that there are certain things that have happened that I'm very grateful for like selling our house literally the weekend before. All of this happened. Yes there are also a lot of worst times of this could have happened like it is not ideal that we're in the midst of a major life changing of moving to a different state. But like I said to you last night. I'm grateful we're not in the midst of a kitchen renovation right now. I'm sure there are some people out there. Who are I feel you because when we've done those like we haven't had access to our appliances sometimes are sink sometimes and that would have made stain at home and being comfortable cooking at home a lot harder and so I'm grateful. Our kitchen is up and running. I'm grateful our bathroom is done like maybe this is putting too much of a positive spin on something that maybe this whole experience for. Everyone is a good moment like put things into perspective. Like I'm not kidding myself that it's going to be this like Rosie experience for everyone because I don't think it is by any means but I think we can do our best to make some good out of it

"The Peanut Butter Falcon" Cinematographer: Nigel Bluck.

"Welcome cinematographer Nigel Block. Nigel how are you today? Thank you very much so great to have you on. Nigel and I have to say New Zealand has been putting itself on the map a lot lately. Tyco RTD. With Joe Joe Rabbit phenomenal movie Tons of others you. A lot of success in New Zealand is true. We look. I mean you can send them. I mean headed his heyday in the civilian nineties. Expose with what we what was going to the cinema of unease great movies banking then and hasn't been a lot since then but it's still a very select kind of universe down there and and united something people talk about law in strive to be So yeah among crowds in your community and I think title what Katie said the same thing at the Oscars. I have to say though. Your Dad loves since cinema. Your Dad loves film. As you're growing up clearly has a love of all things. You know acting films cinema. That had the rub off on you. Talk about his love of the cinema in movies and how that might have impacted your love of movies and got to where you got you to where you are. Today he was a he mental Talks about a lot which I see but you know you eat a lot of film. Generals around discussion was the thing. We'd always father was very interesting. She against you as a Sanath Tinder. Coaching and a lot of discussion with him and exposure to things. That will come. Unusual film. Specially like a two lane blacktop. Very early on the picture and it still remains to be one of my favorite movies on but yeah I remember funnily the early days of cinema discovered with day so I have to ask you just as we hear terms all the time. Those of us on the outside not familiar with the industry. Is there a difference between a DP director of photography and the cinematographer the same thing or are they different in any way? There's more is a more European called fries. Photography dirctor photography's squealing. Hollywood comb Tune and you have this really interesting beginning where you're enrolled in school. You're old in film school and you know you reach a point mentally in your life where you say you know what I can kind of and I think this is how it unfolded where chief my goals without having to get a degree from school without having to get this degree so you ended up leaving. Just talk a little bit about a clarity Klein from the school though pretty much like you gotta listen. You WanNa be a cinema Taga. We can't teach you a cinematography specific stream. It was much more of a A Meta film school. That was more about Criticism and you know it was associated with hoping to find out school so they simply didn't have the tools to teach me technique. I needed to learn so it was an agreement between both of us and they are answered. The time was like listen. You need to discard join the industry which which is was then served me the only way forward to become listen in New Zealand at the time. Nigel was that a tough. Call for you to say you know what I could do this without degree. I don't need school to get where I WANNA be. No it wasn't. It was frustrated a little bit with the school at the time. And I've been there for a couple years and it seemed like exciting to go during the real world and I wouldn't have load magazines so it was. It was time the time it was fine and I have no regrets looking back. You know. It's I'm not dissing foam. Schools folk schools are incredibly places. In fact I went to the Australian After that film school because it was specific to cinematography but I think the schools are the ticket you get out of it agree or whatever. It doesn't really mean much. It's the experience of a narrative thinking film living breathing film being rounded making mistakes. That's welcome schools. And I have to believe Nigel. Things like the report you had with your father and his love of cinema and how that kind of transcended to you I have to believe that also had an impact on where you are today. It was always fung love of movies rather than a love whole photography. More importantly announce a combination of two and. I don't know if he's still with us or not. Niger but did your dad grow to see how successful you became your accomplishments. Everything you've achieved in life. Yeah Almond data. Solar added love a actually went back in time this year. For Christmas there was a screening of peanut butter Falcon at the little village that we live in a house in New Zealand. So early lovely time to bring it back and share. The local people in impact audience and everyone was very excited. So yeah it's it's it's it's it's lovely to Ivan they're on. I'm proud to Sharm suffering growth. Get to make stuff. Your Dad's love a film aside. Nigel the fact that you know. His son has become so successful and achieved so much. I mean that has to add so much to his already standing love for movies and cinema etc humour is yet years he loves and I'm very proud to be able to share. My sister's also direct a by left sharing that with him so clearly in your life. You've you've made tons of sacrifices commitments. You know dealing with hardships really kind of putting yourself out there whether it's dropping out of film school or sacrifices being away from family for long periods of time that I'll certainly has to add up. Nigel is there a way to handle deal with manage those sacrifices so it doesn't really weigh on people in the long run? Weigh on you when loved ones in your life too. I think are more privileged than a sacrifice whenever I have the privileged to work on something that I'm passionate about. That is that is amazing. I'm the sacrifices don't so much that the difficulty with the lifestyle to be honest this is making choices and putting yourself in a place where you can afford to make choices. And sometimes that's easy sometimes. It's not as easy especially now. I have a family. It's it's tougher. Detained things down but that is the for me. Is the secret to to to to being a full stock and can believe in work is that you have your -tunities to do the things we want to inhibit. You have saved US off. Open away that you had the opportunity to turn things you don't want to do down because Biz nothing worse than doing things you don't you don't passionate about. I've always had the privilege of doing this passionate place it's never been like. Oh I'm GONNA work now. You're so it's it's Anita feels like I'm GonNa Work of a day. It's it's just it's what I wanted to choice maiden and I think that's a healthy thing which making films is not high is not easy and needs to be able to wake up every morning inside Anyone do this Les Han Solo to do the best job possible. And that's why even went around to expes so this whole there is literally. I really love your comments on passion. Nigel because I see that all the time in the podcasting world or people trying to be something. They're not. Is there a movie or an actor that did it for you? We talked about Your Dad's passion. Was there that type of movie actor for you. It's a law of movies in a lot of people but the standout from as well as tune. Blacktop been tablets Correctly Y on. It was something about seeing that movie that time when I was about thirteen It was it was. It was a simple phone. It was elegant foam. The story was very simple. Skase but enough and those meditation to it just didn't feel like a regular American film. It felt like an Italian film. Which should sort of course MONTIEL's making this Spaghetti Westerns? And this is at that time and yet there's something about the simplicity clarity the study of and the the space in that avoid been really attracted to. I'm I'm very attracted to these stalls. Foams are and nets. That's really what I want to make thumbs with spice in time that have a major elements Humanity people on. And that's that's one of those. You Know Nigel as I look at. Your filmography Lord of the Rings True Detective. Two different seasons The unbelievably awesome The peanut butter Falcon. But when is the moment that comes for Nigel where you were you realize you know what I've made it at? Maybe after completing a certain. Was there a certain project you completed where you know the realization comes to you know what? I'm pretty good at this. I I could do this for a living. I mean the first film. I shot which was very young. I did Stick Mamie plays was at once the most difficult thing most hiring for the done but it was the most rewarding in wonderful in that was just feeling that existed in every day and challenged Wasn't right feeling and Amid repeated since I think that's just the first Things new every tax for hangers new in its unconquerable Today the more who make the issue of easier gets my vote. But that's some garment profoundly me and I kinda missed exhaustion. Sometimes when it comes back after a tough day will solve metallocenes. What then I I do. Welcome and embrace

The Murder of Emmett Till

"Emmett till his tragic murder in one thousand nine hundred fifty five is a monumental moment in civil rights history. The African American teenager was tortured tortured shot wrapped in barbed wire and tossed in a river by white men seeking revenge for what till had allegedly whistled at a white woman in a grocery store when till's mother Mamie Elizabeth till mobely viewed his lifeless body swollen beyond recognition his teeth missing and I hanging out the only thing she could use to positively identify him was a the ring he was wearing Lord. Take my soul she cried according to a two thousand three interview with The Washington Post in her grief and outrage. Till's mother wanted the world to see the barbaric act committed against her son. She called the Chicago defender under one of the country's leading black newspapers she called Ebony and jet magazines too and she invited them to his funeral on the south outside of Chicago then. "Emmett till his tragic murder in one thousand nine hundred fifty five is a monumental moment in civil rights history. The African American teenager was tortured tortured shot wrapped in barbed wire and tossed in a river by white men revenge for what till had allegedly whistled at a white woman in a grocery store when till's mother Mamie Elizabeth till mobely viewed his lifeless body swollen beyond recognition his teeth missing and I hanging out the only thing she could use to positively identify him was a ring he was wearing Lord. Take my soul. She cried according to a two thousand three interview with The Washington Post in her grief and outrage. Till's mother wanted the world to see the barbaric act committed against her son. She called the Chicago defender under one of the country's leading black newspapers she called Ebony and jet magazines too and she invited them to his funeral on the south outside of Chicago then. No, everyone loves share. But as a gay man share release something for Kevin. I thought Andy was coming out for a second. Now that's on the next episode. Oh my gosh. And then actually, you know, we saved a girl's life once the two of us. Tell me what. So she just had Mamie, and we were at her apartment, and she said, I want ice cream are sort of cool. I said, but it's kind of dangerous neighborhood and it's night. And she said, no, it's like between Chinatown and little Italy. What could happen and so who walk in? And we haven't got around the corner yet, but we hear screaming, and we get around the corner huge man in like sweats, and I don't know what over like basketball shorts. And he's pulling at this girl. She's like shaking, the squirrel and so- Merrill, just starts screaming and takes off an ice start screaming and take off to and think I'm going to get killed. Why France is gonna kill me. So anyway, so we're running and running and the guide turns around, and he sees. Us and he starts running towards us in the night that we're really going to get killed, but we both split off in the opposite directions. And and we got to the girl and he kind of had ripped her clothes, but she kept her purse, and that's what he wanted. And then we're like trying to fix her all up, you know, and you know, we have nothing, but we're sticking it in their bras strapper shirt thinks she looks at us and she screams and she said, oh my God. "This is Mariah Carey her new album is caution. And you talk about a legendary artists who's been putting out music for almost thirty years. Now, I don't know what her most dominant period was maybe mid mid to late nineties. Pretty good her. But how does she sound LARs on this her fifteenth album? Mariah Carey aka my Queen aka Mamie, aka VN, lucid Shantou's perfect imperfect angel. She who bays in milk. Interviews in her lingerie, I've loved riot carry ever since I was a preteen and fell in love with her during the always be my baby video, I think that was a pivotal moment for a lot of young men in the nineties that video particular, but this record shea has scaled back as much as you can scale back. Mariah Carey and she's found a consistent tone, consistent tempo. And she's just done all these really fun bops instead of working with the same producers that she's worked with light germane to pre. And folks like that she's gone a lot younger. She worked with nine hundred eighty five of division DJ mustard, scroll IX provides like some really interesting beats for track. But the thing I love about this record is that she's having fun again. I was really taken aback listening to this record by how restrained vocals worth she's going for. This kind of icy cool quality that I as somebody who had checked out of her albums wasn't necessarily expecting. I tend to think of her as one of the mount Rushmore of singers who inspired the vocal style. You would hear on American idol Bill. Yeah. I think this is one of her better records in the last two decades, but kind of fits in really nicely with them. Butterfly from nineteen Ninety-seven when she really hit her spot and figuring out where she wanted to land between pop are NBA and hip hop the album is cautioned from Mariah Carey, and what goes better with Mariah. Carey than Glen Campbell's. I was just gonna say I didn't want to jump the gun and start talking about going Campbell during the Mariah Carey. "Fully with this investigation, the new investigation will not be able to get search warrants, for example, or issue, subpoenas, like a criminal investigation, but the Washington Post reports investigators uncover evidence that cavenaugh lied to lawmakers during hearings or on his background. Check forms that could spark a criminal investigation in which law enforcement could use the full extent of its legal powers during discussion. Now Meany Roco, former assistant US attorney in the southern district of New York, an MSNBC legal analyst Mamie the FBI has a week, what are they going to do. So Lawrence, I think there's about four categories just right off the bat that the FBI should and probably will focus on with respect to the Ford allegations. The first is obviously Mark judge a probing interview needs to be conducted of Mark. Judge these statements through lawyers, obviously not enough. I think Cavanaugh said during the hearing, FBI agents don't draw conclusions. Yes, but they interview people every single day and do draw conclusions about their credibility, whether people are telling the truth, and there are many ways to do that with Mark judge to figure out what he means exactly when he says he doesn't remember, does that mean it didn't happen? Or does that mean he can't remember? He needs to be probing questions about his Kavanagh's drinking habits. He needs to be asked about the book and whether those are references to Cavanaugh in his book. Then the other category are the other people who might have been not participants or witnesses to the actual act, but present that evening. And I would use the July. Calendar entry that we've heard so much about in the list of names there and ask all of those participants there. That may have been the night in question that she's talking about, it may not, but it certainly sounds like a similar type of gathering. Then I would put in the category of sort of the prior consistent statements corroborating witnesses who Dr Ford spoke to. And those are so important because remember the people that she claims to have told this about previously. This is before just Cavanaugh was ever even on the shortlist for the supreme court. And so it goes to her motive. If she really did tell them about this by name or in general description it back, then it really would show that she's not lying now because she has no motive. She isn't trying to take him down from the supreme court. This isn't a political motive as some have said. And then the last category I would say would be just generally talking to Kavanagh's friends from high school from college, about his drinking habits at the drinking is central. And I know to some, it may sound petty. But it central for two reasons. One is it goes to whether there's an explanation for why he doesn't remember this event. Did he drink to excess in blackout? He never answered that question and he got belligerent and dodged it. And then the second reason it's important is because he's made so many statements about the fact that he didn't drink to excess and both in interviews and and and even in the in the hearing as much as he tried to dodge it. And so if we show that is just patently false, if that's what comes out of these interviews that we're going to see, you know possible. I think referral for perjury, anyone who thinks that a drinking too much or questions about drinking too much in a Senate confirmation. Don't matter. That's one of the reasons why Republican Senator John tower wanting was on his way to confirmation as Defense Secretary was defeated, was the problems with his answers to the drinking questions and just how much of a drinking problem he actually had Mimi Rocca. Thank you very much for.

"So that's at least some sort of the only reason why I don't feel that Mamie. Manny Machado. The best player in the lock in the clubs is because as a motivation is because I think everyone inherently feels that way. I think motivator off feel that they know they can no good. I feel like motivators need to be coming. Out of left field, things that aren't obvious to you, but those are the things you need an external sort of an external. I don't know, motive next factor come into the equation. That's new. The shakes you up a little bit looking at looking over and going. Machado is the best player is not going to shake up the clubhouse. Why? Because he walked in everyone kind of knew it already. That's my whole point is was to say, why did he say it in one of the reasons is because he's a free agent, facial size of even that doesn't mean anything it's more about did he is he saying this to get on his good side to kinda send a message to the front office to kind of get them to realize we may want to try to retain his guy all those sorts of little subliminal measurers, right that he Cindy, that was my whole player. I think it's all of it. I think personally, I think it's all three of those things. I think it's factual. I think it's they wanna make him feel good because they wanted to resign. And I do think that some guys club has wait a second who who's going to say Kershaw really. I don't maybe a little message to Clayton former player Sean. I think Clayton Kershaw where he talked about it here at nauseam that he is not an was Lysol. You feel germs spread? Yes. So wait a second. We haven't sat here for three months and said that he's not the guy. He. No, no, I agree with that. Right. And I stand by that. My only thing is that I have a hard time believing a pitcher with his health history doesn't recognize that the younger slugger everyday player is more valuable to this team right now the here I'll tell you why I that agai like that wouldn't think that way. I'll tell you why Lysol..

"Fan your mamie only really going to get into it once every couple of years when you either have a high draft pick or multiple high draft picks or cap space hard to make trades in the nba as we all know and it's hard to make good trades in the nba as we all know but i want you to it over and think about it for a second because i think lebron with the decision changed the way players now think about free agency and the way teams go about trying to create space for players in free agency hey look we're eight years down the road from the decision and lebron has made two decisions since but think about it what he did affected the way a rookie thing or the way a rookie thinks coming into the league because it's one can i get my pay day and play with my friends the same way when tiger woods was great in golf it changed the way golfers thought they got in shape they worked hard they took their diets seriously and now somewhat fifteen years later or more when you think about it almost twenty years later now from when tiger really hit the scene but i'd say fifteen because he started to change things and gained some accolades that made people coming into that sport think differently we can really go back to a lot of this and say lebron was the cause and now we're feeling the effect and i want to hear from you if what lebron did some eight years ago in changing the thinking of gm's and players has made it worse for you as a fan when it comes to free agency and thinking about the team that is going to be put together that you root for we're coast to coast border to border and in america's had known as canada eight five five two one two four two two seven.

"Know like i said the problem is hard enough as it is make it harder they certainly certainly they certainly did so we were approached on the first t by young by by young mamie max and he said he said guys do you want to caddy for today when i said who i don't know and i thought to myself that would make for a much better story because now getting catty help and he's knowledgeable and things like did not know his and kit none of that stuff all just worked out very different asleep so max takes me out and he's mr positively and i could've and i that's what i needed on a day like that we had all the positivity in the world and he was all about it he was mr encouraging and everything and it was great and he really helped me read a lot of putts kept it light get loose up there it was great so fun fun time like i said i wanted to one of the best slash worst most fun ninety four is oliver shoot my golf career but one i will not i will not soon forget make sure you hit it firm you don't don't avoid hitting it too soft or whatever that's what caddies do right they they say something it's the positive thing they don't they that's what we learned from smoltz right row he didn't want the negative he wanted to positive all the time so don't hang a slider to album pool it was throw it firmament fast down the middle and so the job the kid was very much like you know what one right in the middle let's go for it and and he was really good about that south and a couple of times it worked at the time it was like i just wouldn't listen to the caddy so learn your lesson you're going to you know you're gonna take your cadillac you might as well i was gonna use them as well listen to what they had to say grant mitch channel five joining us here on drive time sports or are you jumping ship from the nba like everybody else's now are you are you done so i did like that i think he was like sportscenter on instagram or twitter was like take you know they took the starting five golden state warriors and it was like the five best players in the east and it was like could they win in all star game like this is what it's become and i don't i don't blame demarcus cousins for the warriors she had no offers and so they called him i don't hate the player hate the game the nba setup to to build these you know super teams right now and that's what everybody wants and everybody's getting so you so don't be mad at cousins for the warriors be mad at you know sober in the owners for establishing this this is the way it is and i don't i don't see it changing anytime soon because even though we may moan and cry and say this is the basketball meta you're gonna watch you're gonna watch you're still gonna watch we're all go watch you're not going to not watch same thing with the nfl boycotting the nfl you're still gonna watch everybody's gonna watch you're still going to check it out and stick around the super bowl still be one of the highest rated shows on television in the nba finals we'll still get good ratings no matter who the team so i mean again i get why everybody's upset i'm not i'm not a fan of it by any means you're wrong i just don't think we're gonna see this sort of false that people are talking about now you're starting to watch how many eighty two games where people watching the beginning though you know that's what i'm saying right and and that's my thing to you know if somebody like paul clea who we had on earlier says you know he he's teetering on the edge then i go okay but a lot of people don't tune into the nba till january and then and even then the numbers say that people are watching so like if you're if this is gonna put you over the edge because my thing was yeah boogie cousins is really good the warriors were already the team to be so what is this what you already felt hopeless and.

"There's like five ways that we all wanna be loved i could point you to a blog about it on the website i can explain it to you right now so gary chapman who is a pastor priest he wrote this after work with many couples of the church don't want that turned you off because it's not all god heavy if you're not into that but what he found was there's five ways typically that everyone wants to sleep blah perceive love and typically two of them speak to us the most and our partners won't necessarily want experience love in the same way so for example here's what they are gifts so i want you to come home thinking of me and bring me my you know tiffany's box or a shirt that you are news out this shirt liquidity then there's quality time i really want us to our saturday night is our night without cell just the two of us were spending really quality time together connecting then there's acts of service you saw the my gas tank was empty and you filled it you empty the dishwasher for me you fix the lightbulb acts of service and then there's words of affirmation tommy i'm hot everyday tummy i'm in pretty i'm smart and successful and then there's physical touch okay we wanted to be touching you want to be hugging we want it's really important to us that touch so there's probably two of those that you feel you know for me it's words of affirmation and physical touch so i might be dating someone he wants gifts and quality time and if he's never touches me or tells me on hot and he might bring me barrels of gifts i would never feel love affair like literally if he didn't this has happened to me regard like did not touch me off he was just like i'm like i wanted to hug i wanted to be touching watching tv and it didn't happen so i didn't feel up with this mamie realize is.
