"More weakness on the domestic front, a lot more weakness on the consumer front in the UK at the moment. And he certainly one of the reasons why at the moment in UK markets, I'm really quite positive on large cap UK equities, but that's not the economy. I would be much more cautious towards mid and small caps in the UK at the moment. We've got a big focus on tech this week and next, a lot of tech names reporting, the dominant theme last year, of course, was around the fed tightening cycle and that was really in the driving seat for tech stocks. Now we're going to see a lot where we've seen a lot of cost cutting stories, haven't we the job losses to the fore, Ben, what do you expect to hear from the tech sector or what's going to be your focus? I think the Texas are probably going to see more consolidation on the jobs front. So going forward. And I think there will be a lot of comments around that about where there's overextended themselves and starting to rain back in those own reports going forward. I think if you put in aggregate though, the really interesting thing is that if you start to tot up the job losses that we've seen in this era, it really does very, very little to offset all of the job gains that you've seen over the last 18 months, two years or so. So I think some of those numbers headline look quite large, but actually if you put them in his strong context, it's not massive at the moment. And certainly a lot of the large mega tech companies, they are still very strong cash generators. I don't think we're going to see enormous earnings downturns from those kinds of areas. So I quite like some of those quality names within the tech space, those areas that are still generating very strong cash flow. So that can sort of adjust their workforce accordingly. I think still some of that sort of zero tech, some of that more that UNICEF USA dot org slash we won't stop. I think still some of that sort of zero tech some of that really sort of growth the end of the spectrum right at the other index. There I still probably see there's some weakness that I wouldn't be jumping in. But I wouldn't completely avoid the tech sector entirely. And I think maybe it's time to start thinking about the semiconductor space once again where you have seen fairly significant de rating, but again, very good quality companies and a lot of cases still paying reasonable dividends at the moment as well. "To your wallet plus bad things are going to happen. Don't we price in the events? I mean, we're talking to Matt malley and Miller Tay back and he said we need to go down to 15 times forward earnings before we can see an end to the bear market. That historically what happens in a recession then turned back around. On the other hand, Catherine Rooney Vera said, you know, maybe the market has seen past that and has already pricing in the recovery. Can you just skip past pricing in a recession if you're that confident that a recovery comes on the other side? You know, everybody is so focused on the here now this moment. We sort of lose contact of the bigger picture. We've discussed the concept of mean reversion before. Let me just remind everybody from 2010 to the end of last year, Marcus had gained 1314% a year that's nearly double historical averages. So while we're all coming up with these wonderful narratives, explaining what's going to happen, I'm comfortable with the concept that you can't grow a double market rates for much more than a decade before there's a little bit of mean reversion. So is it the fed? Is it earnings? Is it inflation? Maybe, or maybe this market just ran too far too fast on fiscal stimulus on zero rates. And hey, now we're kind of resetting, it does look like the markets have priced in a mild recession. Hey, down 20%. That's a mild recession. I don't know if the markets have priced in anything more damaging or a hard landing. Well, if we could take one stock as an example of what you're describing Barry. 2020 to 2021, Tesla was up about 58%. Hey, Elon Musk slapped a bunch of laptop batteries in a lotus, a little roadster, and essentially that was the birth of the new EV industry. And for a decade, they had that industry to themselves. Now, 1.2 trillion is ridiculous, competition is coming for Mercedes BMW, Hyundai, go down the whole list of all the hot new EVs that are out. That's before we even get to startups like rivian and lucid. And so competition starts to take some wind out of their sales. The wild price competition suddenly, they're not dominant market share as far as the eyes can see. And that was very ritual. "And, you know, I keep looking for definitive trendlines when it comes to inflation. And I think a lot of folks have said it's going to take a while for it to start to come down. And then I do wonder that once it does start to, does that trendline go down, rapidly? And what I'm sort of wondering about and when you think about the shape of inflation, do we plateau for a while? I mean a 9% handle feels really dramatic. I feel like we are, right? Yeah. Perhaps we are. I guess we'll know much more in about two days time, but yeah, what that trendline looks like, the rate of change you could say, these inflation readings. And I mean, when you think about the year over year prints, at some point, you base effects kick in, I don't know. Yeah, it's a really good point. And then we have to remember that what the fed does. There's a lag time in terms of its impact on the economy. And I have to say when the job print, I was on vacation, I didn't step away. I had family members like, mass are Carol. Did you see? Yeah. How about my siblings? Did you see that hot jobs? And did you? I did. I went and read it and I wanted to find out. And I was like, wow, I couldn't believe how strong I had a tune in at 2 p.m.. He has to say. I didn't tune in to hear what my kid had to say, but I did read the right through. But it was so strong. And I'm glad you weren't listening, but we were sort of asking the question. Was there anything that was bad? You could say the laboratory. Maybe that's something to quibble with. But across the board, man, it was just a knockout. And this is why those weekly unemployment claims become important because we'll get it kind of an almost in real time, right? What's going on in the labor economy? Maybe we can start to see whether or not there's any kind of rollover. All right, you are listening and watching Bloomberg business week Cal master Katie greifeld right now. The U.S. and Iran on the clock to decide whether they want to revive their tattered nuclear deal, Bloomberg's Nathan Hager has the latest from Washington. Negotiators ended more than 15 months of talks in Vienna today with a final draft proposal. Two European diplomats tell Bloomberg news, the deal would require Iran to eliminate its stockpiles of enriched uranium in exchange for economic concessions from the U.S., the officials say EU foreign policy chief Joseph borrell will send a message to presidents Joe Biden and Ibrahim raisi of Iran, telling them they now have a few weeks to decide whether or not they want to sign the deal. U.S. special envoy Robert malley and Iran's top negotiator are expected to return to their capitals from Vienna within the next day. In Washington, I'm Nathan Hager. Bloomberg radio. "Following the collapse of the latest talks over its tattered nuclear deal. Bloomberg's Nathan Hager has more from Washington. More than a little bit of a wasted occasion is how special envoy Robert Maui is describing the recent indirect negotiations in Doha. Speaking with national public radio malley says Iran rejected, quote, very detailed outlines of an arrangement the U.S. was willing to accept to revive the 2015 accord. President Biden's been trying for more than a year to restore the Iran nuclear deal since then president Trump pulled the U.S. out in 2018. Biden has maintained sanctions since then while Iran has ramped up nuclear activity. Now, special envoy says the party that hasn't said yes to a deal. Is Iran. In Washington, I'm Nathan Hager Bloomberg radio. While there may be no deal with Iran, there was some progress today on expanding NATO to include Finland and Sweden, NATO's secretary general Jens Stoltenberg says he's thankful NATO members are allowing the Ascension process to start. I command all allies from moving so quickly in accepting Finland and Sweden's applications for membership. And I want to thank turkey, Finland and Sweden for their constructive approach. Biden's Nuclear Negotiator Robert Malley Weighs Lifting Iran Sanctions

"Andrew we got. I mean, there is this negotiation that's happening. I mean, we touched on it before, but there is basically Robert malley, who is the U.S. special envoy to Iran, is currently in Vienna, and apparently the negotiation is going so poorly about the. So he negotiated the JCPOA in 2015. So he is the guy that basically was responsible for the document that Trump came in ripped up and got the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal, right? It was an unbelievably bad dude. Yeah, it was an unbelievably bad deal. Well, guess what? He's at it again. So when we talk about our elites failing us, when we talk about how America deserves better, at least, at least we like to think we deserve better elites. He's at it again and he's in Vienna and basically there's a substack from Melanie Phillips. She published it 21 hours ago. She basically says that it's going so poorly that she was, you know, she felt obligated to write this and that she had permission from some people on the ground. This is all happening while we're worried about Putin launching nuclear weapons. Like, oh, let's go give another authoritarian nuclear weapons in the Middle East. Yeah. And so she highlights a Twitter thread from Gabrielle norona that says one, my former career at the State Department NSC and EU colleagues are so concerned with the concessions being made by rob malley in Vienna that they've allowed me to publish some details of the coming deal in hopes that Congress will act to stop capitulation. What's happening in Vienna is a total disaster, one warned, the entire negotiations have been filtered and essentially run by Russian diplomat, Mikhail ulyanov, the concessions and other misguided policies have led three members of the U.S. negotiating team to leave. They're basically stripping away different sanctions of all of these leaders within Iran, including the Iranian military that has murdered people all around the world, apparently, according to this thread, we're about to be not only in a geopolitical cluster in eastern Ukraine and Russia, but we're also going to have Taiwan coming on board. And now we've got basically JCPOA number two. So

"Part of the problem here of course is that the media are fixated on Israel what Israel is supposed to do But the Biden administration is about to pull this through the back door Congress under federal law is supposed to be able to review it and vote on it And Congress under the United States Constitution has to approve a treaty actually the Senate by a super majority That will not happen That will not happen Robert malley is a phony and a fraud And I think he is a capitulator and an appeaser And so the Iranians are going to have a better deal than they had before The Iranians are going to have a better deal than they had before

"You're the one who actually has a vote. And they're asking me my opinion. That's wild. The young waving the bat over the plate, waiting on Malley runner at second base with one man out. Valley sets, ready fires and the pitch strike three called Down on strikes. Paul the young malley locked him up with a good high fastball back to back punchouts for Tyler Malle. Now to away and the batter is Harrison. Major trade. We do have a little news of the day. Jose Barreiro, getting the start today at shortstop as we mentioned during his at bat didn't get a chance to really talk about it much while he was batting, But Kyle Farmer His wife, Courtney, gave birth to their first child. McCoy, James, Farmer, £8.14 Ounces. So this is a good opportunity for Jose Barreiro. It really is, You know, that's just this will be his series. It's a three game paternity leave. He's going to be there. Probably every day. Um Later takes a called strike on one. So that was good. He'd been on the taxi squad because well, I know Courtney was do a couple days ago. So, um That's great news for congratulations to the farmer. Family much, um, I think Kyle was able to make it on time for the birth, something he was very nervous about the pitch and that is a ball. I know. I know. Kyle told me that McCoy was going to be born at Piedmont Hospital. Same hospital where Where Kyle Farmer was born. How about that? That's pretty. Yeah. One ball one strike on Harrison Bader Malley's ready. And from the belt pitch. Try to write in the outside edge. That's the split finger. And Malley, head of Vader, one ball and two strikes lots of babies this year. Apparently, it's pretty popular activity. I don't have to tell Tommy three about that. Well, we did have a lot of this covid thing where everybody had to stay home for long time. Fix the 12 pitch outside two and two. Here are ways to pass the time. So anyway. Moderate second two outs. Two balls. Two strikes on Harrison Bader. Reds are leading in one to nothing here in the Bottom of the second inning. Malley pauses, fires and the pitch fouled straight back. I think that's a major terror of emotions. You want to be there for your child's birth for child's birth and be there for your wife. But just thing that we do out here on the field, you have that. That magnet to your teammates, and you have that responsibility. That's just you've had it since you were a little boy, But you know what you're supposed to do. And you know you're supposed to be there. And I mean, every guy gets nervous with that first, baby, you can't help it and Oh, no. Those that come after that. Well and for Kyle Farmer. Honestly, this is a guy who's finally getting his shot. And he knew Basketball outside full count. Now invader. There's a hotshot prospect. Who has been seen as the future of that position. And he also knows His role on this club is rather large. It is And not just from playing shortstop for swinging about, But in that locker room. Oh, he is one of the most beloved Guys on this team. The payoff pitch. Bader Slings reaches for it Pops it foul out of play will try the free to pitch again. I'm glad that he was able to get there in time because that's a That's nerve racking. Yeah, try to shut everything out when you're playing, But when you're away from the field, that's a constant or even you know, even when You're on the field. You got to think about that The other thing am I going to be able to get it? Is this going to happen? Yeah, I think it was certainly something that has been on his mind for a while. Bader Pops it up shallow on the first base side, and it'll land harmlessly foul in front of the Cardinal dugout. It was just not high enough for anybody to get to Malley probably got the closest to it of anybody with Lotto charging in and Stevenson racing over there, But that would be the effect of jamming someone too much. Yeah. It's got a new piece of lumber now broke his bat. So has to go back for a new board later has really hit Malley well, but limited action three for seven. But of those three hits, two of them are home runs. Alina's its second base with two outs Reds are leading in one to nothing as we play in the bottom of the second inning. Congratulations. Certainly In store for Kyle and Courtney Farmer and Hamilton getting a brother. The off pitch. Lohan outside Ball four yesterday. Hamilton. If you're wondering, Hamilton is the French bulldog. He's got Hamilton's got added responsibility. Now look over, little hands could be Don't slobber on the baby Hamilton. Don't slobber on the baby 1st 2nd base right off their tough. It's Jon Lester. That's what I told myself that first year. I did this in caves. It's a good 0.2 on two out. Jon Lester, standing in Leicester can hit a little bit. He has a home run this year, and he takes a strike over the outside corner at the knees. A fastball from Malley. The count is one But as we were talking about, it is a big opportunity for Jose Barreiro, and it's a chance to get regular reps. You know you're going to be in the lineup and you know you're going to be in there for a few days at a time, so this will be a probably the best opportunity that he has had the pitch missing down on the way to Leicester. Yeah, it's got to be tough for him to have been on that taxi squad and not getting out pass. Um, this is his first one. Um, but you know, he's done everything you could ask and Triple A And he's got to get a shot sometime. This is a good opportunity. Big, important time the 11 pitch swing and a miss, and it's one end to its slider, backdoor slider there from Mali to Leicester. Of all into strikes and I got to imagine that when Kyle comes back regardless of how Barreiro does shortstop is still going to be his position. But then what do you do with Jose Pereira? At that point, it's going to be interesting to see what you do want to do. Strike three calls. He's got you. You've got to give him some time down on strikes. Jon Lester A trio of strike outs in the inning for Tyler Malley. Couple of base runners will walk in a hit. Maybe Kevin's dad maybe Skins, Dad, I don't even know what it is. I wouldn't call it a hobby. The way we went through my list of hobbies yesterday, But I do like to try to break down a dream and try to figure out what is it and I I got nothing on this one. Yeah, that's sort of standard like I mean, sort of psychology. Surface level would be, you know, um You're worried for skin safety for some reason, I guess, Or maybe, like a lack of control on something because I couldn't control the car because you know, Christina cut the brakes, but, uh I don't know, man. It was weird. And like I said it was after a night of just jacked up dreams. That was the capstone on all of it. Weird man, although I'm glad you and Chloe were there to support me and then point out that it was definitely Christina to cut the brakes. Oh, absolutely, because that's that's what we do. I think the better we said this before the ruined the reasons that you should do that is because if your players are going to go to casinos you want them to be able to play and not get in trouble not do things that other people angry with them right so if you treat your home game like a training around and then your overall experience is going to be better. Iran's President-Elect Says Talking About Missiles Is 'Off Limits'

"On Iran is getting ready for another round of indirect talks aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear deal. But a newly elected president of Iran doesn't want to take on other issues The Americans are hoping to discuss. NPR's Michele Kelemen reports hardliner Ibrahim Breezy, will be sworn in as Iran's president in August, and he's already making clear that some topics are off limits like the country's missile program. But the Biden administration wants to talk about missiles and get a better nuclear deal with Iran. The first step is getting back into the one the Trump administration left. That job falls to US envoy Robert Malley. I don't think that this window is going to be open forever at some point will have to conclude that this is not succeeding, but we're not there yet. We still think that it's that it's possible. We still think that it's certainly in our interest. We think it's in Iran's interest to, but they'll have to make that decision for themselves. In an interview to air on Fridays morning edition, Malle says the negotiations in Vienna have been tough. Iran wants more financial relief than the U. S. Is willing to offer and the U. S. Wants to. In Malley's words, rewind the tape on work Iran has done since the Trump administration left the deal like building its supply of nuclear fuel. Get back to where we were in 2016. With a cap on on the levels of enrichment, with the cap on what centrifuges they could use and rich with a cap on the amount of enriched uranium they could have. And with the IAEA, the nuclear inspectors being able to monitor Everything they're doing, which is not occurring today. Iran refuses to meet US diplomats, O'Malley passes messages through European diplomats He's also raising the cases of detained Americans, though Biden administration officials insist that this is separate from the nuclear diplomacy.

Biden's Reversal of Sanctions on Iran Gives a Lifeline to Their Diabolical Regime

"People in Iran in the region has been fueling great part by the crippling sanctions imposed by President Trump. Which President Biden may soon undo. But also by the administration's truth telling about the brutality and corruption. Of the regime. Biden's appeasement to point out policy. Has already given the regime a new lifeline. With a selection of Rossi. Romania's puffing out his chest showing that he knows that the United States has abdicated its own strong hand in favor of a losing one. The regime has studied and sought the shape. The ideological underpinnings of the Obama Biden Outlook on the Middle East, a so called realignment toward accommodation of a regime at any cost and emboldened by the recognition that Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Malley Will stop at nothing to reenter the nuclear deal come, many feels unconstrained in choosing his potential successor. And on trouble that making the American capitulation look even more desperate and devoid of morality. The regime uses its nuclear program as a means to extort the United States so it can survive. As much as the Obama Biden playbook may want to keep the regime in power as a counter balance in the region, Quote unquote a nonsensical phrase since the other side being balanced. In this formulation would be the United States and its regional allies. The regime itself knows that is an irreparable, irreparable let it isn't an irreparable legitimacy crisis, no matter how much the United States accommodates it, so Biden administration is breathing life back into this administration into this regime. But it knows what it's monstrous

Biden, Dems prevail as Senate OKs $1.9T virus relief bill

"Senate. Democratic leaders have reached an agreement over unemployment benefits with moderate democratic senator joe manchin ending a nine hour. Standoff threatened to derail action on president biden's covert relief bill. The agreement would extend the existing three hundred dollar weekly unemployment benefit through september the sixth and it offers tax forgiveness and to ten thousand two hundred dollars in unemployment benefits for those who make less than one hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year in a statement released tonight. Senator manchin said we have reached a compromise that enables the economy to rebound quickly while also protecting those receiving unemployment benefits from being hit with unexpected tax bills. Next year joining us. Now on this breaking news democratic. Senator tim kaine of virginia he is a member of the senate budget committee. And the senate armed services committee senator. Kaine good to see you this evening on one hand. I'm not quite sure what what was happening. In the senate for nine hours on the other hand we have crossed an important hurdle at this point and are moving toward the passage of this bill. Tell me what is going on malley. You're right. I mean we've got fifty democratic senators and we need every one of their votes to get this bill which will do so much good for americans to president by his desk. Senator manchin hannah concern about the way the unemployment insurance benefits were structured. And he stuck to his guns and that concern was not my concern. I i really liked the bill as it came over from the house. I think we made it. Stronger of senator manchin needed some additional adjustments to get there. But now we're there and we're gonna rocket four and they're going to be dozens. Maybe hundreds of amendments that republicans will offer tonight and tomorrow but democrats. We have linked arms with president biden said. The american public needs this relief and they needed soon. And we're gonna stay at our desks and tell sometime over the weekend. We send this bill back to a house for a quick vote so the president by to get it next week four unexpected. It's obvious why so. Many americans support this bill. It's not actually a partisan thing it's money that people need in their pockets. It is overwhelmingly popular amongst americans. It is even supported by the majority of republican voters. What's going on. what's what's the reason for. Fifty republicans not voting in favor of this and by the way. No republicans voted in favor of it in the house alley. My my gut is this. I think they've made a strategic decision and remember just replay. The tape back to the beginning of the obama biden administration. They just sort of decided no matter what. The new president offers to rescue the american economy. We're going to be against it. I will say this. This is a bill. That is just chock full of of provisions that republicans have offered in past years. It's chock full of provisions that are desired by republican governors. And mayors as you point out it's full of provisions that are popular republican voters and when it's implemented it's gonna do enormous good for republicans and independents and democrats so they made a strategic decision. That and i can't put myself in their shoes about why they don't want to be four but will be able to bring the final bill out and show you. How much bipartisan Agreement there is this bill. The democrats are just riveted upon the fact. We're still ten million jobs down from where we were laying out here. We've lost five hundred thousand people. Were not out of the woods yet. We're not gonna go slow to go fast. Climb out of this crisis.

"After spending about eight years of the New York Assembly, she is now a force A U. S. Rep. But New York's 11th congressional district, which includes Staten Island, parts of South Brooklyn, Way, open, just and way take credit. Bernie and I for her winning next. That's a bit much. We did help, but of course, she won on her own marriage. He's a brilliant lady, a great politician, and she's on the right. Which has two minutes here on the right side of things. Here she is making her return to the Bernie in situ. Our good friend. The coal Mallia Tuck is good morning, Nikola. Good morning, guys. How are you today? We are great. So before we get to the stuff that you really want to talk about vaccinations, and maybe Cuomo, maybe de Blasio. It's been a couple of weeks. How is your life? Changed in the last couple of weeks. So what you were doing basically for the better part of nine years. Well, you know, I think it's still of, unfortunately, very polarizing cause we're at a crossroads in our nation right now, And there are people who want to preserve the American dream and preserve our freedoms and liberties like me. And then there are those who want to move us towards socialism. I think this is a real defining moment for the nation. It's sort of, you know, I used to go to Albany and fight with the Democrats there when they were not doing the right thing by my constituents. On hoping even though we're in the minority that, hoping that they would make some changes, which, in some cases they did, and we win small battles there. It's similar right now. Because the Democrats do control all levels on the federal level, right. They have the White House Now they have the Senate in the house. And so you know, our goal here is really to look where we can find common ground work together. There are areas like transit, for example, you know, overcoming this pandemic, accelerating vaccine distribution to those who want it. You know, those are areas where we Should be able to work together in a bipartisan fashion. But you know some of these policies I'm seeing coming out of the last whether it be you know, the destroying the Keystone Pipeline project, joining the Paris Accord, which just gives China and India an advantage. You know, we have to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and I'm all for energy efficiency, by the way, very environmental Supporter of the environment, But you know when we're reducing out, get your greenhouse gas emissions in China and India don't have to do anything until 2030. That's the problem and put, some said it's a disadvantage. I wanna work to restore American jobs, not lose those jobs. And I think that you know, we're starting to see with immigration policy. Some some things I don't like, either or, you know, lacking. They wanna like they want to destroy the president. Initiatives that have done a good job right addressing the crisis at the southern border on DSA Oh, you know when we have to push back when they're not doing the right thing by American you no doubt about it Well, said in a coma Congresswoman Nicola Malley attacking some proud to say, and also canceling female Scholastic Sports. Biden's America Last agenda is has just just been horrible, and it is it and what's so talk about warp speed. He had hidden waste any time. But the Naco Mali attack is one of the things that the federal government started to implement. I believe they've stopped since stopped. It was they wanted to vaccinate terrorist Anna Guantanamo Bay, something that particularly incensed you understandably tell us about that. Well, yes, President Biden, his administration, the Department of Defense, the Pentagon, They put out initiative a directive to vaccinate individuals. I was going to start occurring Actually, this week on now we're talking about people like the 9 11 mastermind. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, other terrorists who have been held at Guantanamo Bay, and this is coming at a time number one and only is it offensive to be getting the death penalty? Not the vaccine to keep though we form a lethal a lethal injection. Exactly on the second thing is Look at that. Look at the time our citizens are waiting on long line they can't get through to access appointments. We have a supply issue in this country. I've been working very diligently my first few weeks in Congress to try to address the issue of distribution, you know, number one getting the governor to add to the list of individuals who can qualify. So now you know the last couple of weeks, we added the 65 older class, which is a large population. On Ben, The NYPD are first responders. Now we have the essential workers have you know others who are important to our everyday life in New York, who were able to get this vaccination yet there weren't enough distribution sites in the none of supplies. So what do we do? We reach out to Mayor de Blasio's did add Distribution sites, and now we're working on that supply component. The president, you know, did authorize the Defense Production act which should be helping us with that supply. But still New York alone there seven million people who are eligible and yet, you know, getting doses of around 2 50 to 300,000 doses and we so there is a large demand. When you hear that terracing Guantanamo, we're going to get the vaccination. It's outrageous and and think about this to the average 9 11 responder and right quick recovery worker is probably about 58 years old now because there was 38 years old at the time, and, um Think about this. They are not eligible because they don't hit the 65 h, you know, Requirements set? Yes, they have underlying conditions, right? Yeah. A lot of those folks have actually died since then. That was not a one day event. Not even close to Colmar. Leo Takis Michael Goodwin. What a really good column again today in the New York Post. You know, Joe Biden throws this unity word around like it like it means something. It means nothing. He's done nothing to unify this country. In fact, he's done everything but the first couple of weeks and office. I know you guys had a plan of about a little less than a trillion dollars stimulus package. You guys put forth their plan the left they want to spend about $2. Trillion. Goodwin's point is apartment listening to some GOP leaders like you come to some type of compromise. That would go a long way in unifying the country. The stimulus package. What your thoughts on that Well, he's doing exactly what we believe He shouldn't be doing and that is allowing the radical left to take control of the agenda. You know, right now at the margins are so close in both this And in the house, so there's no reason for him to be just going along with what people like Alexandra Cozzi, Cortez and Bernie Sanders wants he could and should work with a bipartisan group because the margin is small enough where you can get things passed with. You can afford to lose some of the squad votes and pick up some Republican votes. Um, and that the issue is that there's already $1 trillion out there that is unspent from the last stimulus package or the last few combined. Remember the last stimulus package was just passed about a month ago. And so the money hasn't even gone out yet And already they're looking to spend another $1.9 trillion at a time when we're approaching a $30 trillion debt in this country. And so you know, this is something of concern and look, I'm supportive. Obviously, I want to see more relief going. The dollar is going to our communities, but there has to be targeted. It has to be targeted. If this is not going to be sent centered around re opening our economy resuming in class instruction, they were storing the jobs that were lost over the last several months. You know, then I have an issue with that, you know, inevitably bring up supply chain home. We can't be depended on China, but Maybe had this pandemic taught us is that and so we need to actually look at ways that we can target relief. But let's spend a trillion dollars that we we just off. Price. Yeah, Congressman Nicole Valley. It's August. Congresswoman Nicola Malley attacks on the Bernie and such a finally, congresswoman, I have to ask about Governor Cuomo Attorney General Letitia James. She came out with that report. He undercounted the covert destined unearthing nursing homes. I think it's a polite way of putting it. I think he and Dr Zucker engaged in a cover up. What are the chances? Do you think that she will refer this for criminal prosecution? Or is this something coming out of the house? Perhaps that may well take some action against what is disgraceful episode during the pandemic. Is. This is extremely tragic because thousands of individuals lost their lives in nursing homes due to the misguided policy of the governor to a mandate that these nursing homes take covert positive patients even when they didn't have the PPE or the ability to care for them properly. And then on top of it, you know, as when they had the U. S Navy Comfort ship and the the Javits Center set up specifically for positive patients..

Biden expected to announce Tony Blinken as secretary of state

"And the person that is tipped to be his secretary of State. Antony Blinken Telesco years. So I'm not a blink monologist, but I have known him since high school. We were in the same class. 40 years ago, Maurine in Paris, And if biography is personality, I think Tony's biography tells the whole story. He was an American in Paris, living with a stepfather who was the youngest survivor of Auschwitz. And an international lawyer trying to build ties between them the eastern bloc and and the West. And in those four elements. I think it captures Tony's identity. He was an American, and he believes very strongly in America in America's role in the world. As you know, for him a country that can that can really change the landscape, the global landscape, But it wasn't Paris. And so he saw how others Europeans in particular. View the United States at times very unfavorably as a country that tries to bully in that tries to impose its way rather than to work with others. The fact that his step that was who he was, I think from knowing Tony, it imbued in him a strong feeling of, you know, fighting for human rights and fighting for the defense of people, vulnerable people, whether they're refugees or whether they're people who are affected by conflict. And lastly, an international lawyer who tried to broker ties between a time the Soviet Union and Europe. I think that is the diplomat and Tony, who tries to Put himself in other people's shoes and what is going to insist very much on a resumption of multilateral, very transatlantic view of the world. So all those people who have been so nervous on terrified by the damage that they perceived the Trump administration had done to international alliances, institutions internationally collaboration and so on. Will be very pleased that Antony Blinken is the man who is tipped to be the secretary of state. It is true, though, isn't it? That foreign policy may not actually be Joe Biden's pressing issue, given the impact of covert 19 in the United States. Correct. I mean his priority. I think the part of the administration is going to be domestic because of the health implications of the pandemic and the economic implications of the pandemic. I mean, we're facing a as much of the world is a severe economic crisis. And I'm not having mentioned that the racial tensions and the polarization of a country that has gone through an election, the result of which is still not been acknowledged by the by the sitting president and many of his followers, so the party's going to be domestic. Joe Biden is somebody who is a senator. As chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Foreign policy is in his DNA's A Tony Blinken is probably his closest partner. When it comes to Ah, colleague when it comes to foreign policy, So I think you're going to see a big emphasis on the themes that you just mentioned, which is re stitching multilateral alliances. Resuming U. S participation in some of the treaties and some of the organizations that President Trump withdrew from. But both the president and Antoni if he is, in fact, if he does become secretary of state are going to face a world that is very different from the world that they were they were participating in the Obama administration is short four years ago. Image of the United States the credibility of the United States the fragmentation of the world order. Everything has accelerated over the last four years. Well, let's talk about some of the treaties that he might decide to rejoin. We we know that on on climate change, he is going to rejoin the Paris accord. It's also been reported that Jake Sullivan, another Joe Biden adviser, is expected to be named his national security advisor. And in the context of the J C P o a the Iran nuclear deal. The combination Of Tony Blinken and Jake Sullivan. Pretty significant. And let's not forget that as you're buying himself, wrote an article not long ago in which he said that the U. S. Should rejoin the JCP away if Iran agrees toe come back into compliance with his provisions. So that has been a commitment that he made during the campaign. It's by the way, the position that I think every other maybe, with one exception, every other candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination made So I think it is. The intent of it would be the intent of the administration to come back in. Now That's easier said than done. They're going to be obstacles. Iran is not in compliance, President Trump has added and continues to add weekly a huge number of sanctions that are going to be Difficult to deal with. But the intense that projector I think has been clear. And as you say, with both Tony Blinken and Jake Sullivan again, if both of them if the rumors are confirmed, I think you have a pretty strong sense that That's what the United States is going to try to do, and we'll work with European partners and others to get there.
