"Thank you very much. Appreciate you. Double breasted. Double breasted. Hey, NFL plus. It's the NFL's exclusive streaming service. It's officially launched. You have to get it before the season starts because NFL plus offers access to life. Out of market pre season games live, local and prime time regular season and postseason games. And also network shows on demand and so much more. NFL plus is available on the NFL app on all platforms. So go ahead and download it today. The first week of the pre season is just getting started, NFL network has 22 live pre season games, including a double header tonight, lions, falcon, 6 p.m. eastern. Followed by packers, forty-niners at 8, 30, then a quadruple header on Saturday starting at 1 o'clock. I've said it before I say it again. It's all right here on NFL network. You just take your remote, you put it on a phone network. And then you take her out and you Patrick Mahomes and you just whip it behind your back and then you just set for the rest of the weekend. I say put it in the disposal. And then turn those. Why would you ever like to change? I like it. All right, so with week one of the preseason already underway, we wanted to take a look ahead at the rest of the games this weekend and pick a player that we're looking forward to watch. So Jason, what do you got? Well, first of all, you guys didn't say anything about my shirt. We talked about Woody Harrelson yesterday. I rocked a shirt. But I am gone with trill Williams, the Miami Dolphins, a corner Byron Jones has been banged up. Trill has an opportunity to step up on the other side of Xavier Howard. Could he be the guy in Miami to be cornerback number two, we'll say. I'm finding the Texans wherever they're on this preseason and I'm finding their rookie running back from Florida Damien pierce because this guy is angry, runs in college. We're so angry. They were actually funny. Watching running ticket and, oh no, my helmets off. You think I care? He scores against them Knowles and then screams and like this is the guy who's squarely on the watch list. Damian pierce of the Houston Texans watch him follow him, look at the hell out of his way. Who do you got, Mike? Give me Carson Wentz in the commanders. Who are they playing? I don't even know, doesn't even matter. I just want to see if Carson Wentz can be accurate because of all this talk about his inaccuracies during training camp and the commander saying, look, he's learning a new system, unlike any he's ever been in before there's going to be some growing pains while once he gets into a live game in the last time we saw him in a live game, by the way. Not so good. So you're going to want to build some confidence. There's Scott Turner, the offensive coordinator. I know he's confident in Carson Wentz. Let's see it on display. This weekend in the preseason against the, I don't know. Haven't looked at it. Absolutely. Well, naturally, I spawned the question a little bit because the Patriots already played last night, but one player I wanted to not only watch this weekend, but I wanted to wish a really special happy birthday to Devin mccordy. I know it's a special day tomorrow. He's going to be with his family. He's going to be with his kids. I think he has some other people in his life coming up to visit him, but honestly, happy birthday. Happy birthday, Devin. Devin, you're one of a kind. You really are. I know. What are you guys gonna do? I'm just gonna hang out. But I think more importantly, it is Danny's birthday. Coming up. Yeah. Two stage manager Dan. Come on, guys. This is a get out of here. I will carry you. If I have to. I'm sorry. Kyle. Yes. It is our birthday. It is start your engines. That's it. He's gone? I'll see you on Monday. The life of the party. Engines. I'm telling you, just wait, we got 30 seconds left. I know. So you want to do a keg stand? My birthday is going to be a blast. We're going to go out. Maybe I can get dev to do some shots or something. Enjoy it. And I found out when pickleback shot is. It was. What is it? Whisky. And sometimes you can just eat a pickle at the after having a whisky shot. Did you know that? I didn't, but I do now because of the extra 30 seconds. I brought it up yesterday and I shaved myself 'cause I brought something up that I didn't know about, which I guess is a hallmark of the show. Thanks for watching. One more time. The wait for the 2022 NFL season is almost over. Nothing compares to witnessing it live in person. "Football. Hey, it's now time to welcome back an old friend of the show. Please welcome from the set of CVS this morning, Nate Merlin. Come on, buddy. Come on, what's up? Good in the blue today, man. Little something something. Oh, yeah. I bet you do a full alpha change after your show just to come on our show. I bet you just got a whole good morning football wardrobe. How'd you know? All right, Nate, did you see, did you see Dan Campbell this week? He blew us away with some of his quotes. Last year? But he's taking things to another level already in 2022 and hard knocks is only elevating his stardom. And his bulletin board material. We're going to check out his speech first. That he gave the Lions the other day. Nobody will take advantage of our hospitality. Nobody. So that's who we're about. That's what we're about. This team is working the rear off to give you something to be proud of. All right, they're grinding it out right now. And I know this, we are freaking starving. We are starving. So the hyenas better get out of the way. Okay, lots of fun back there. All right, Nate. You are someone who has made his share of fair share of speeches. Two Lions fans in particular. So what stands out to you about what Dan Campbell had to say? There's this raw authenticity that he speaks with. And guys that have played the game, Jason knows this. You know, you have to cut through all of the fluff. And by that, I mean the ego, the locker room drama, the politics of football, in a coach, has to speak straight to the heart of the player. And if that resonates, then your team will reflect that. Oftentimes, all of that other stuff gets in the way. In a message is lost, but it doesn't seem that way with Dan Campbell. When he speaks, players listen. I mean, let's do this had some tremendous quotes. He has said some wild things. One of my favorite things he sent back in May of 2021, this dude said, I want a pet line. He seriously tried to get a pet line to come out to the practices. He said a big lion on a big ass chain just walking around. That dude is focused. He's focused on the goal at hand, which is making sure everybody knows he's a lion threw him through. And I'm here for it. Man, he might have lost a locker room if there was a lion walking around a facility, but you started out as a fan. Being able to cut to cut through the floss. And one of your buddies cut through the fluff and he took his talents to LA, your guy, Matthew Stafford, and right now there's some concerns he's dealing with. So nagging tendinitis and his throwing elbow. Do you think this is overblown or do you think it could affect the rams chances of repeating and getting back to the Super Bowl? I don't think it's overblown at all. You know, I think this is true. You know, Matt Stafford is banged up, but I will say this. They wouldn't have given him that extension and paid him a big bag if they knew he was so banged up. He couldn't play. You know, and let's not forget. This isn't the first time Matt Stafford has played through injury. I mean, let's take it back to Matt Stafford's wiki. Do you remember this? This was back in 2009. Rookie season. He's down by 6. I mean, he gets rocked. And we're talking about rocked, and then gets up and throws a dime afterwards. His shoulders pretty much hanging off at this point, separated. We're talking about clinically diagnosed with doctors say, hey, bro, you separated your shoulder. We're going to have you sit out the rest of the game. He said, no, I'm going back in. He goes back in, rose a dime to pettigrew to win the game with zero seconds left. This was him as a rookie. So now we're talking about Matt Stafford the grown man. After a long career last year winning a Super Bowl, if he has a little tennis elbow, our little injury that he's dealing with. I promise you. It will nag him, but it won't stop him from being as great as he was last season. Yeah, the wired where they follow him the whole time on that is incredible. If you haven't seen that go check it out. After the show, of course, because we're doing a show right now. Double breasted burleson. On a Friday, this is awesome. Baby. I love it. I miss you. You like the Kirkland brand. Jason Statham, man. What's up, fam? Gotta see you. Kirkland France. And that is a compliment. He just never heard one. He's not a compliment. I think it is a compliment. It's like a compliment. Wrapped in a handsome. It is a compliment. We got a thing. They don't understand. It is Friday. The Weeknd's coming up. We got a major slate of action all week on an NFL network and NFL plus. By the way, did you get the promo code or you still on the email system here? If not, I got the. I got the promo code. I'm good. NFL plus. Okay, good. Good now. Good. So you got NFL plus. All right, who are you most excited to see? Take the field this weekend. A guy that is near and dear to my heart, he actually went to the same college. I went to shout out to university of Nevada. Romeo Dobbs. Yeah, the wide receiver drafted in the fourth round to the packers. There's been a lot of hype about this young man. I mean, the word on the street is he's been dominating all summer, even Aaron Rodgers come out, he said, it's never been too big for him. I like his approach. And this is Rogers, who is hard on everybody. He never holds his punches or his words, so for him to look at this young guy coming in and making plays and saying I like his approach, the moment isn't too big, and we all know there is a space for opportunity when it comes to wide receivers on this team. Devonte Adams now playing for the Las Vegas raiders. I feel like Romeo dies will be the SOD. That is the steel of the draft. Still of the draft. SOD, Romeo jobs. All right, well, my question for you, dollar store, Michael Strahan. We always hit a wide range of topics. I'm just kidding. I had to get to Mike was a little shook. I was sitting here while you're talking about Romeo and Dobbs thinking, how can I go back at Nate? I think we'll do the Strahan thing. That was like, here's what I remember. That's good. It was okay. When you ask my football, we would always talk about, you know, you're like, I want to talk about other topics, and I want to just be able to do other things. And it was beautiful. And I'm so proud of that you're doing it. Just look at this week alone. On your show, you broke down delays at the airports. You talked international politics. She took some time to try out new gadgets and stuff your face with sandwiches. Like, you're doing it, baby. I love it. What was your biggest takeaway from this past week on CBS mornings? We did a story on a remarkable woman. Lissa Buckner, who is a champion horse show jumper. And the catch here is she's blind. I'm talking about her right eye is completely going, I believe, and then partial visibility in her left eye, which she can only see color. The reason this is important and I'm a related to football here in a second is that she said, because she can't see the obstacles ahead of her, she has to trust the horse, which is rare in the business of these riders. They oftentimes gauge it, visually, and then they kind of prompt the horse to jump. So the reason this relates to our show is these teams. These offense coordinators. They got to trust the horse's baby, trust the horses in the stables. We have talked about it for the last 6 years. What makes a good team? You go with your best players. Oftentimes, these coaches, they try to outsmart themselves. These coordinators, they go into a game plan, trying to out coach the other squad when all they have to do is lean on their horses. The guys that can win them games. So that was an incredible story after I saw it. I thought it was unbelievable. And of course, in football, it just makes sense. You gotta trust the stallions. That's right. Poetic. You are a gift that keeps on giving. Thank you very much. See you next week.

"Football. That's 21 consecutive pre season wins for the ravens. But for the Titans, the story was their rookie quarterback Malik Willis. What do we think of his debut, man? Man, I was impressed. I mean, he flashed, this is a young guy out of liberty. He didn't go to one of the power 5 schools. Everybody's kind of questioning, like, what can he do? Is he going to be the guy? I mean, still a rookie, but man, when you see some of those throws, the play action, roll into the left side arm in it back to the right. I mean, I'm not comparing them to Patrick Holmes, but I'm a Holmes came in and he started making some of these throws. Correct. We all just, we ramble that and you see him come in and it was kind of routine for him. Just guys there, throw it right there. I think you saw some of the skill set that we saw in college and making the big throws. And enjoying the moment. You're spinning around, you're making side, throws like, that's what you want to see from this young guy. You want to see him flash. As early, they have Tannehill there. We'd only expect Malik Willis to be out there leading a team, but maybe there's a package of plays for him. Throughout this season where he gets in and we get to see some of that craftiness and some of those off schedule plays that for the Titans fans there, you have to be excited to see that. Absolutely. I would say 90% of people hadn't seen really close play because of his time at liberty and probably when they saw the Titans draft him say, what the heck did this guy do at liberty to warrant this decision? He played against a ton of power 5 schools at liberty. He beat up Zach Wilson and BYU when he was there. He was such a talent in college, went up against really powerful teams, but what I love most about this is that he took on an opportunity that essentially we want from other guys. You can't, you can't flip flop this. You can't say, and again, I just use this as an example. Go on. Daniel Jones, we only saw we didn't see, we saw okay. We didn't see enough, but it's just the preseason. But then you can't go to Malik Willis and say, oh my God, this was an aberration. This is unbelievable. Which one is it? You want to see him flash? Or do you want to see him be solid? And Malik Willis took advantage of an opportunity to show us what's up. Damn right he did. Yeah. There's the phrase that I always comes to mind this time of year with these rookie quarterbacks. Just look the part. He looked the part. If we dissect this thing, you could find things he did wrong. He made plays with his legs. He made a play with his arms. He just looked composed for the most part, and that's all I care about. The last football game, this guy played was against coastal Carolina and the mortgage cure bowl. I mean, if you watched that game or you're watching these highlights, if you take anything other than complete adoration of this guy, you have to be some margin a little bastard on TV. Can you imagine doing that Mike would you think of his play? Well, I'll tell you what. I'm gonna put it on my table. Because for what? I was watching these highlights. And I was loving it, and man throw this stuff is fantastic. I was like, you know, dumb and dumber when they're sitting at the diner and excuse me, flow, and they're having fun, and they're flowing like the TV show. And then sea bass walks over and spits in the burger. Mike vrabel spit in our burger last night because this is what happened. The last play for Malik Willis was a second and four early in the third quarter, and I'm saying, man, look at the ability on this guy. I'm loving it even more than this is so exciting. This is fantastic. Oh, no. It was Malik Willis last place. That was a great play. Of the night. Nice run. He was pulled. For Logan woodside. And the reason after the game that Mike vrabel gave was that he didn't throw the football. You're supposed to throw it. They had a little quick action here and then it was supposed to be a bang over the middle and he didn't let it go and he said, you're out of here, buddy. Because Mike vrabel wants to make sure he knocks these guys down a peg and that was the reason for it. He wants him to run the offense. Yeah, all this other stuff is great, but run the offense, throw the football. So I'm not sure how I feel about it, right? I understand what vrabel and the coaching staff was all about. But I also understand that this guy showed sensational ability last night, and I want to leave on a high note. Here we go. On a negative note because I take really good things out of last night, no matter what that burger tastes like after I take a bite. So show me Lamar Jackson and Malik Willis after the game, let's go sound full and let's go sound up on this one. Yes. Keep going. Did I hear that, Jamie Erdoğan? Did I hear him say this is your team now? You may have heard it. You know what? Kyle's point. He looks part. He stood next to each other. You see those two guys walking along, they're talking to each other. It's like, it's like what you always want from your relationship. It's like they have that it factor. Malik Willis, yeah, that did factor. You were shaking your head though at rabel polling him out. Did you disagree with that? He made a play. Yeah. Signing a voice. Graham, wasn't getting around the corner. His first and ten. He'll make that play one time. I mean, I get it. He's a rookie. You have to be hard on rookies. No matter how well they perform, you have to knock The Rookie down, but yes, that was a beautiful sight to see Lamar Jackson. Like Willis, chopping it up. Absolutely. Yeah. Where are they good about knocking folks down a peg up in New England, right? Yes. Where did variable? It doesn't matter if you're a rookie or a ten year event. They will knock you down. You know what's fun about Malik is the next Titans preseason game. If he gets cooking again, then that's when the chatter starts. And obviously it's Tannehill's job. Ten I'll just threw another interception against the Bengals in the playoffs, all right? Then you start getting maybe Malik, Jason's already saying, maybe we have a package of plays. Maybe we put him in around the goal line. It just starts to snowball when you have a starting quarterback who no one is doing backflips over, and this rookie that is really exciting. Next preset again. I'll take a note from Mike's page and I'll end on the one last positive thing too, is how we were harping on Titan's wide receivers and the fact that we saw racy mcmath. Those catches. Racy. Real name. Go tag us. For now, we're going to focus on the big matchup tonight between Green Bay and San Francisco. Aaron Rodgers will not be on the field. That's no surprise, but he is in Green Bay. But that gives us a very intriguing pair of first round picks likely playing quarterback this evening. So what do we want to see from Jordan love? Trey Lance, that quarterback mash up tonight right here on NFL network. Oh, I know what I want to see. And folks, you've got some homework. I know it's August, but I'm going to assign you some homework here. Okay. I want to see Jordan love and here's what I want you folks to look for tonight as you're watching the game. This is Matt Lafleur. Quote, I think he's much more in rhythm. I think there's more decisiveness. I think you see it in his footwork and he's not getting what I call stuck at the top of his drop, where both feet are hitting at the same time, and he's just kind of sitting there. It just looks more rhythmical. I don't even know if that's a word. It just looks more fluid, and I think it's translated in his play. I think he's definitely throwing the ball pretty accurately and has made pretty good decisions. So folks tonight, let's watch Jordan love the air to see not getting stuck. Get the ball out. You're in love, needs to look like a veteran, because Jordan love is a veteran. So let's keep an eye on his footwork as mechanics and all that good stuff. It's an important game for Jordan love. It's like, hopefully he doesn't play a single snap in a regular season. And so this this clips or whatever he does tonight, good, bad or otherwise. We're gonna be playing a lot on the show, like 9 months from now. Next summer, the game tonight in August, like if he plays great or if he plays terrible, that could actually dictate what the packers decide to do with their future post Rogers. It's a massive game for him, but I'm looking on the other side. Trey Lance. You got tossed the keys

"I have a proposal poll question for the next hour. So here in Seattle, everyone is flying in droves off the Seahawks bandwagon. Let's ride. Let's try. So with the deshaun Watson controversy, who would you have to have as your quarterback, deshaun Watson or Gino Smith? I'd rather have Gino Smith right now because Deshawn is not going to play. If they're both eligible, then you take deshaun Watson. You know, unless you say, look, I'm not going to follow the team. I don't want to be part of them. I don't want to root for them, not part of the fan base. But that's really hard to do. 'cause if you grow up watching a team, when we talk through thick and thin, it's usually when you have a tough loss, like an earnest binary fumbles or something. This is different. But that's what being a fan is nowadays. Hey, my guys are using steroids, where they got caught using your fan. Okay. We'll get through it. My team signed Michael Vick. All right, we'll get through it. Let me go down the list. I mean, this happens. This is difficult though. Aaron and Missouri, hi Aaron, what's on your mind? Hey Dan, it's a quick question. You have a pretty respective self safe and embellish. It appears to me to save and enjoy teaching the game and skill and nuance more, Belichick, enjoys the extra nose. Which one do you think lasts longer than their turns? I don't know when people reacted after the Sabin interview like he sounded sad about retirement. I don't want to retire, I can't imagine what retirement would be like. No, I probably don't sound sadder despondent or down, but I mean, that's how Nick Saban is. His delivery is like that. But I go back to Joe Paterno. Brent Musburger said, he will never stop coaching because when he stops he'll die. And look what happened. You know, Bear Bryant. I mean, there's certain coaches. This is what they do and they don't know what to do with themselves. These guys don't play golf. They probably don't have a big circle of friends and have book club and go out and go on golf excursions to Scotland or Ireland. Like he was talking about. He goes, you know, that's not what I do. So I get it. But sometimes the job holds on to you. You get the job, but then the job gets you. And you know, what's he going to do? He loves doing it. I just didn't know with all of the political stuff with college football, do you want to continue to do it? Because when you start, it's different. You know, nobody's transferring if they are. They got to sit out a year. There's no name image in likeness. No, you're making a good living, get to a bowl game, keep your job. Now he's got to win a national championship. You got these kids coming and going. You know, you get into a back and forth with Jimbo Fisher. Like, there's a lot going on social media. And I just didn't know at some point because Belichick doesn't have to deal with this. That's why I think Belichick coaches longer. He doesn't have to deal with this much. Yeah. And I think Alabama is one of those schools, let Nick Saban have two straight three losing season three game losing seasons. He's on the hot seat. Don't hold your breath for that. Yeah. Oh, no, no, it won't happen, but I do think he's been tempted. I think that that Texas opening, whether they would have created an opening. I think a couple of years ago that he was starting to look at, man, has anybody satisfied or happy around here. If we don't win a national championship, and here they are, the number one team in college football final hour coming up, Nick Saban used to coach in the NFL with the dolphins. The dolphins make Darius Rucker cry. He'll join us coming up. More phone calls as well. It's a meat Friday. I got to go inspect the traeger's. It's part of my job responsibilities, final hour coming up. There's nothing like being

"We've been talking a little bit about the Titans with Ryan Tannehill, Malik Willis came in and looked good in limited action. Here's the over under Ryan Tannehill. Okay, let me start with over under Titan's wins this year. According to DraftKings, Todd, I'll start with you. 9 and a half. Seat no Connor. Ten and a half. Morph, 8 and a half ball. Ten, 9. Feels like there's a ton of teams around 8 and 9 wins this year. If all goes well. Over under passing touchdowns, Ryan Tannehill. Todd will start with you. 20 even 20 eve. See no Connor. 17. Morris? 22. Pauly, 21 and a half. 21 and a half for Pauline. Ryan Tannehill. I don't know what we solved there, but I'm just saying those are the expectations that Vegas has for the Titans there. I would like to know if DraftKings has a number of starts for Malik Willis this year. Bob and Montana joins us. Hi bob, what's on your mind? Hey, 6 5 and a not so lean anymore two 25. All right? I've got a pie in the face challenge specifically for fritzi. So you guys are always given Todd, some good natured ribbing about how Jackie was back in the day. We had the guns and the hair and the muscles and the ladies, but let's face it, pretty may not be quite that lean stallion that used to be due to my car accident last year, neither am I. So to that end, I propose a pie in the face challenge on whom can make the biggest transformation over say the next 60 or 90 days and UDP

What's your problem? You're back home in Dublin. Why do you have to get so aggressive? What is your problem, Brady? Are you talking to me? Yeah. What's wrong? What are you talking about? Yeah, I can't get a song wrong and have a back and forth Roberto that you kicked me in the nuts for it on the air. I don't know why you're taking it out. What just happened here? I don't know. And it was a Mariners walk off. $5 could have been $40,000 for the for the dude never gamble again. That's it. That's it. It's over. That was your you danced with greatness. And greatness. Yeah. And greatness walked out and then threw into the ocean. It's over, like, just move on, don't gamble anymore. Like you were that close to going $5 into 40,000 and a walk off ended it. You'll never get that close again. It's never going to happen again. It's like losing a perfect game. The bottom of the 9th, you're never going to get that chance again. Just retire then and move on. I don't know, man. That's a loss. I take the opposite approach. Go buy a lottery ticket. You got a good go play some high limit slots at that point. Wait, wait, you think they're going to karma is going to even out. Okay. Yeah, that's that yin and Yang of life, bro that's one where you go. You know what? This seems really unlucky. So somewhere it's going to balance out. I mean, either that or maybe you get like check your email. You might get an email from someone that, you know, hey, you get a long lost cousin who died and left you, you know, $40 million. There you go. See, but I feel like you would be a really good friend in this spot because you would say to the guy, well, look, it's not really $40,000. After-tax and after everything else. What is the 18 18,000 he's going to walk with? No, do like 20, but it depends. It depends on their personal filing, but we won't get into that. Yeah. What else we got, Ricky? Guys, in case you missed it, tickets to the commander's pre season opener at FedEx field. Against the Panthers are being sold on the secondary ticket sites. Do any of you guys want to guess the cheapest ticket? $5, Ricky. I'm gonna go 4.99. Four 9 9, lavar, you got a guess? Yeah, $2. $1. Why wouldn't you go? Why would you knock? I don't pre season or not. If I was a player, I would buy a bunch and donate it. Like I would buy 10,000 and donate them to the entire school district. And just that way all the kids could come out and watch. That's how I would handle it. I mean, the school teachers can even do that. Yeah. Anyone can do it. $2, $1, $1. Lavar, what does this say about that? Well, for the bully at school, you know? Beating up all those kids taking their lunch money and just. It's almost like a diet is probably right. 1980s. There's no more boys like that. Yeah, do people still get shoved in lockers? The hard thing is now these young kids probably have like Venmo and Apple Pay. The kids get shoved in a locker. Give me all your money. We'll have to Venmo you, then I have to get by off the team. I definitely have my face ID. And by the way, can you imagine being physically putting a locker and have it locked onto you? Scary. It's lavar. What if you had insights into your genetics that could help you live healthier? "For I don't know how long. But that's part of this. Even if he was suspended for the entire season, he's their first round draft pick. You know, you used to live on that where you have a bad football season. Say, there's hope next year. We look towards the draft. Well, we traded away that first round pick. You've got to have a quarterback that you believe in are you fully can deliver whatever he gets on the field. It's giving you a glimpse of hope. It's giving you a glimpse into the future. If indeed, he is suspended for the entire season. Because otherwise like those 17 games that come along, if he can't participate in any of them in the regular season, you're going to hear a lot of fans just moaning and complaining, but they're going to be looking towards the future. That's how that's how this fan base, that's how this franchise is operated. Pretty much since it became came back as an expansion team. Let me ask you guys this. Do you think the NFL is happy with the brown starting of tonight? No. Okay. So just throwing this out there. What if the browns continue to go through with this? Yeah, he's going to start. He's going to start. And then the NFL finally just says, okay, the decision comes down. What if they pull him off the field during warm ups or actually during the game where somebody comes over to him similar to seeing a guy get traded mid game during the MLB trade deadline and they've got a poem off the field and out of the dugout. What if he's out there warming up and all of a sudden somebody comes up to him and says, hey buddy, you're not playing. You just got suspended. It starts immediately and then you're gone. That shit probably happened before they get to the field. But if the NFL's got a red ass about this and says, well, we don't like it. Probably happened before they get to the field. Why would you wait until he's on the field? Well, look, if you're going to put us out there and make our league look bad, we're going to make you look bad and pull them off the field while he's getting warmed up for a game. So how about that? How about that spiting your face? Bet your asset is. No, that's not how that works. I'm certain they're probably up right now in New York. And I'm certain they are on, you know, they are deliberating pretty intensely as to how to handle this. Because to me, I think this is a potential PR nightmare for the NFL. It could possibly not be. But are they willing to take the chance? Like, okay, we're going to allow him to play. The suspension hasn't been levied yet. But it's still like, okay, a suspension being levied. I just explained to me to my interpretation of it and how I look at it. It's like, that doesn't suspension really, oh, the suspension matters because now the games matter. The winds, the winds and the loss totals, they count now. But he still has the ability to go out there and play the game he loves. I might be missing something here, but the fact that he has not played, he didn't play last season. Now he's in training cap, so he's going through practices as normal. He is basically an as normal a routine as any other player. That's playing. So why now all of a sudden are we not considering the fact that, okay, the suspension is going to be levied. It's going to be a harsher penalty. They're trying to negotiate and say what they would be willing to take and put it out there. Okay, fine, all of those things. But to me, I almost feel like you do not let him practice. You do not let him participate in the preseason games. You do not let him participate until you hash this thing out. To me, that would have been the most sound approach to this whole entire scenario without running into lines of interpretation of how is this being handled? And I know that's not the rules. But to me, in a situation like this, I would have aired on the side of caution and said, we're holding the dude out. You guys hold the dude out until we figure out what we're going to do. But you know, they didn't do that. So it would be interesting to see if he played tonight. This will be the most covered Jacksonville Jaguars game since their AFC title game against the Patriots. And all season for that. Think about it. So congratulations, SHAD Kahn. You've done it. You've got yourselves a highly covered team all took was deshaun Watson and 20 something 30 something lawsuits against him and all the behavior that came along this off season in order to get there. So congratulations, big night for the Jacksonville Jaguars and their fan base. It is two pros the cup of Joe here on Fox Sports radio levar arrington Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox, who got in case you missed it coming up shortly. But for all the latest from around the world of sports, how about it? The great, the powerful, the one and only Edmund Garcia. Thank you, Jonas. We start with news from the NFL where Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady has left the team to handle what Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles called quote personal things. End quote bulls added that Brady's absence was discussed before training camp started and the Brady will return to the team after next week's preseason game against the Titans bulls also said he had a quote pretty high level of confidence end quote that Brady would be the starting quarterback week one against the Dallas Cowboys. You guys been talking about The Associated Press reports that Cleveland brown's quarterback deshaun Watson has proposed accepting an 8 game suspension and accepting a $5 million fine to avoid missing the entire season. The NFL has declined comment on that. Meanwhile, the Cleveland plain dealer reported that the browns will consider acquiring quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo if deshaun Watson 6 games suspension is increased significantly upon the appeal. Pre season football last night, the Giants beat the Patriots 23 21 on the last second field goal Daniel Jones did start at quarterback with the Giants. He was 6 of ten passing, 69 yards, no touchdowns in the receptions. And saquon Barkley saw some action at running back for New York as well with four carries for 13 yards. Mac Jones did not play quarterback for New England. The ravens beat the Titans 23 to 20, and they were Lamar Jackson at quarterback for Baltimore or Ryan Tannehill for Tennessee. We did see rookie quarterback Malik Willis, complete 6 of 11 passes, a 107 yards with a touchdown run. He had 38 yards on the ground as well. In baseball, the cubs beat the reds four two in the field of dreams game in Iowa. We had the Astros down in the rangers 7 to three. Houston's now 72 and 41 of the season is a move past idle New York for the best record in the American League guardians over the tigers four three and ten, Cleveland's won 5 in a row. They're a game and a half up on idle Minnesota for the top spot in the AL central White Sox are three and a half back and that's a central raise after losing to the royals 5 to three. Cardinals fall to the rockies 8 to 6 St. Louis's lead atop the NL central that a half game on item Milwaukee. The Marlins to have the Philly 7 game winning streak with a three zero win and the Red Sox knock off the Orioles four three Baltimore's a half game out of the final wild card spot in the American League. Now back to Brady Quinton and Jonas stocks in the Fox Sports radio studios. Thank you, Eddie, two pros and a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports radio. By the way, bad news for those of you that love the field of dreams games, not going to be back next year because of construction. How about it, huh? It's too bad. So no field of dreams game. And they're going to be doing construction. And so therefore what? What are they putting youth baseball fields in or something like that around there? Softball fields. Softball fields. So they've got to put that all together. That doesn't seem like it would be that hard to construct. You just tear down some corn and build some fencing. What's the problem? Am I missing something here? I don't know, but it's kind of odd that it seems like there's a lot of corn out there. They can't figure out like a different area to do it. Yeah, listen, you get a bunch of drunk farmers who make crop circles. Why can't these guys just figure this out? Lay the corn down, cut it off, and then just build a stadium, build some fencing. It doesn't seem like that difficult at all. What is that corn smoky?

It's a football Friday. On Friday, yeah. Friday come on. All right. Put it on his head. What stood out to me and I saw flashes of this. And tell me if you saw this from he reminded me of Steve mcnair a little bit. The way he was running around and then the deep throw, which, to be quite honest, I'm not sure in a regular season again, that's going to happen because the cornerback fell off. That about what the hell he was doing. But either way, like you kind of see that big balloon high arching, throw it, and I was like, oh my gosh, you know, that was reminded me of Steve mcnair back in the day, but anyway, I think he did exactly what he needed to do. To start the pressure to start whatever it's going to be once again in the season if Tannehill doesn't play well. We're going to start hearing people clamor for this young man because of his skill set because of his ability. And he's a very, very lovable kid too. And met Malik Willis, whether it was about the cob by, where he was helping out someone who was on the street who was homeless, trying to give them a little help, or just anyone who's interviewed him. He's the type of guy that's going to get guys to play for. So these things typically you say, it's pre season that's really bad. It doesn't, but it's that first impression, right? Like that first impression hangs with you. And I think that's what makes it different. And that's what could lead to something changing once we get to the regular season where, again, Daniel's pulley phenomenal over the course of his time with Tennessee and the regular season. But I think now people are looking at it and everyone's comparing any quarterback situation to what the chiefs had or they had Alex Smith who was winning the division was going to the playoffs, but they knew there was a ceiling there. They bring him a homes, then they would a Super Bowl. Every team's looking at that now. And they're saying, our guys good enough to get us to the playoffs. Heck, he's going to have to guess the AFC championship game. But is he good enough to win a Super Bowl? And now they're starting to look at trying to upgrade while they still have that roster built up around the quarterback position. And rebel strikes me as the type of guy to where he's not going to care if it hurts hurts his feelings. If he's got to make a move because he feels like it's better for the team and there's more upside. He's just going to make the move. It's what it is. And maybe that's why Tannehill was not that thrilled with the idea of them taking Malik Willis when they did and talking about it earlier in camp. And it's not my job to help them get them ready. But look at me, he started the game. I mean, they gave him a start. It was on the road. Baltimore, by the way, 21 game preseason win streak. And how many 4000? I don't listen, I haven't even looked into that yet. We'll get to over unders at some point. We'll get to it. What's your giants? I did not think we put that many points up. Wait, okay. I was going to say. It's a Wii thing. I mean, I claim the Giants. Tyrod Taylor is going to start for them at some point this year, not because of injury. I've got a feeling. I think he's going to start at some point this year. Daniel Jones, whatever's going to happen there with Brian da ball. I think Tyrod Taylor is going to be the starting quarterback for the Giants at some point. I'm telling you, if I was Jimmy G, I'd look at that look at that spot. I really would. I think that Ross was actually built pretty well with offensively. It's all dependent on the offensive line. But I think they're actually, they've got some more weapons than you think. And that would be a spot that I would look at. If you're looking at a starting quarterback with a short hook, but then the question only becomes like, is Tyrod Taylor a guy, they like enough to say, no, we're good because he could be a stop gap, and then they just go back in the draft next year, or would they say, yeah, we'll bring in Jimmy Garoppolo. But they've been so adamant about giving Daniel Jones this year, it's just odd to me. It really is only because they didn't pick up his 5th year option. And yet they're like so adamant about making sure he gets the shot this year. It's like, well, okay, and he plays well then what you franchise tag him and you're trying to work out an extension then. I don't know that I see that working out well for anyone involved, so it seems like it's going to be an odd scenario for the Giants this year. They obviously got to win, which was I think was big for the patriot games, if you will, which made Brian dabel and Bill Belichick, which probably the funniest status of the whole night was. It was like Brian debo 47. Bill

Is there one this year? Absolutely not. And I could say a 1000% no. And how high will you move Kenny Pickett from pit up? How high will you move Desmond Ritter Cincinnati? Todd already set. He doesn't even have Ritter as one of his top quarterbacks. Matt carral, old myth. You know, you think about a kid like Malik Willis liberty struggled down the stretch. You can't pay them if you can't block them in football, but the quarterbacks they answer your question feel nobody is then that top tens at a category right now. In fact, when I look at my big board, I see Kenny Pickett at 19 Desmond Ritter 20, Mac pro 22. Malik Willis a 28. Yeah, it's interesting because just looking at my grades on this year's class versus last year's class and talking to a couple probably three or four different people over the last month or so in the league for evaluating this quarterbacks already. I would say the same thing as the people I talked to in the league and that said, you would be jumping off at number 6 in terms of quarterbacks if you were trying to stack this year's guys.

And I'm really curious to see where he goes doesn't NFL quarterback. Because I think he's a second round pick, he might be a third round pick, and I think that's a big steal to get J caner in the third round. Okay. Let's end the show today with this story. Oh, man. There is one type of content that I really hate in the sports world. And that's probably more than one, but here is the worst type of content in the sports world. It's content made by a team. It's when you see Miami Dolphins dot com do a dolphin season prediction. And you're like, I don't trust anything you say, because you're writing for the team you're writing about. That's insanity. That's why you don't trust like, hey, do you think if Sony had a PlayStation 5 review that their own writers made? Would you trust it? No. No 'cause they're not gonna be critical. They're gonna say all the good stuff and none of the bad stuff. And what people, I think always don't understand. I love watching the Tom Brady Rob Gronkowski show on the Buccaneers, YouTube channel. But that video is made by Buccaneers, people, like that work for the team, or you see the eagles. You see the lines. Like almost every NFL team now. I think everyone. I'm pretty sure all 32 teams do this. Is they have their own marketing team that makes content on YouTube. And it's not actually content. It's marketing. Because the people who make that content can not be very critical of the team they work for. And I'm not talking about people. I God bless I love Tom grassi. I love Lorenzo and Laurence Owen is a colt's insider. Tom grassi is the packers guy. But guess what? Their paychecks don't come from the team they cover. I'm not talking about Tom grassi. I'm not talking about Lorentz. And I love those people. They do great work. And the genius of them, yeah, they focus their content around one team, but they can be critical. They're allowed to be honest about the team they're covering. But if you work for the team, you're talking about, don't trust you. And we learned why you can't trust that kind of content the other day because Jordan Simone, a broadcaster for Arizona state, former player, played for Arizona state..

"They got the game clinching interception, Baylor was 7 and one, they were the number 12 ranked team in the nation and it's kind of crazy for TCU because TCU just had their head coach Gary Patterson stepped down last week. He said, midseason, I'm out, I gotta step down. He walked away. And this was the first game for TC without Gary Patterson. And not only this year but in like years and years. And he really brought TC to new heights. And so for them to go through that, losing their stable, longtime head coach, and then win without him, was a big deal. It's very cool, especially beating Baylor. It's just a really cool win for them. TCU quarterback Chandler Morris and Oklahoma transfer had a big game with you for 461 yards and two touchdowns. TCU wore their gray jerseys with purple helmets and red accents. It's my favorite uniform in all of college football they're beautiful. The gray, the purple, the red. That's the kind of Jersey you make in Madden. And it looks so fantastic. I love it. I think that I think I should wear the more often, honestly, Michael, why don't you wear that almost every week? I really love that Jersey. It's really I'm not kidding. It's my favorite Jersey and all the college football. It's the TCU gray with purple helmets at red accent. Oh, dude. It's sick. And of course, they put them on they won. So wear them even more. Number 8, let's talk about the final thing for college football week ten. Fresno state quarterback, Jake hainer. Man, I was so excited to watch this guy. He played Boise state. He did not have a good game Fresno state loss to Boise state 40 to 14 J canner was 22 for 38 passing two touchdowns, three interceptions, all three interceptions were bad decisions. Sometimes I'm like, oh, an interception was tipped or it wasn't his fault because of this or that I can't do that every single one of the interceptions Jake hainer through against Boise state were bad. Bad decisions, bad throws. And this is JK or second bad game this year against Hawaii earlier this year. We had four interceptions. And right now, Jay canner has a lot of NFL potential. I really think that he's ability to throw the ball along the sidelines is fantastic. And he's made some big time throws as your back shoulder throws, throws in a tight windows. The way he beat UCLA earlier this year, what made me go? This dude looks like an NFL quarterback. So the talent is there, the ability is there. And he's been really confident Jay cann has been really aggressive. This year, I think it's part of what has taken his game to the next level..

"And I did watch this game, and I'm sitting there thinking like I like Alabama, they've got good recruits. I like Bryce young their quarterback. Can they score on Georgia? I don't actually know what they can. And it's going to be very, very interesting when Georgia matches up against Alabama. I think a lot of people myself included so far have been like, well, George is going to play Alabama and the SEC title game and Alabama's going to win. And they're both going to make it into the college football playoff. I'm not so sure now, man. I really like, maybe I'm just building up the hype in my head, but I really think Georgia might beat Alabama and their year in the SEC title game. I mean, I just don't know, but then also I really truly believe that Alabama is the only team in college football that can actually challenge Georgia and let's go to game number 5 because I watched number 5 ranked Ohio State beat Nebraska, 26 to 17, and like a high state might move up in the rankings this week, Michigan state lost, but man, this was not a great win for Ohio State and their offense didn't look, they looked okay, but like Nebraska's not very good. And I said last week that Ohio State I believe our House could compete with anyone. I wanna, I feel dumb. I guess I didn't mean to say that. I think I said, except Georgia, I don't remember what I said there. Almost anyone does not include Alabama in Georgia. Ohio State can not compete with Georgia. That's for sure. And I don't think they could be with Alabama. And I look at Oregon, Ohio State Cincinnati, none of those teams have a shot at beating Georgia. I don't believe so. And I don't even know that Alabama can, but if anyone can, it is Alabama, I just think we're in a situation now where George is going to run away with it. I really think they're going to win the same way that LSU one when LSU won the national title with Joe burrow. It wasn't even close. They beat Alabama to beat everybody and kind of ran away with a national title. And I'm starting to believe that we're going to see the same thing this year with George that they just like head and shoulders better. Than everybody else. So everybody can have a bad game or you lose somebody you have a couple key players get hurt or get COVID. You never know, but right now I'm like, I just.

"And he didn't. But again, you're severely outmatched. Molecules got sacked 9 times in this game. And I thought what he did show off really well was his physical talent. Again, he's got a huge arm. He made some defenders miss multiple times and had some good runs. And I just like, again, like, the talent is there. You either see it or you don't. It's fine if you don't. I believe in Malik Willis, and I don't believe Malik Willis is a guy who want to start week one next year of the NFL, but his potentials off the charts. And this game liberty at all miss kind of reminds me of in 2017 when Oregon played Josh Allen and Wyoming. That was also a big physical mismatch. And Josh Allen was 9 for 24 passing with 64 yards and an interception. It was an ugly game for Josh Allen against Oregon in 2017. He goes on to be the number 6 overall pick. Now he's one of the best young quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Because he's got a ton of physical ability. And Malik Willis is not a guy that's even close to a finished product. That's fine. But if I'm a coach, I'm like, that guy can do a lot and I can teach him how to play. He's also big, he's a 6 one. He's not huge, but he's built big and durable. And I just look at what Malik Willis can do. And I'm like, this guy is special and I don't care that he throws a couple bad interceptions. I can teach him about it. If I'm an NFL coach, and I'm confident my ability, I'm like, I can teach this guy at that quarterback. He's cheap. He's talented, and I can teach him how to play. So again, I'm not surprised Malik Willis had a bad game against illness. He was massively outmatched. It's liberty against an SEC team. And he was running for his life. They couldn't protect him. But again, I just, the last thing I want to say about this before we move on to mature is that the talent is so clear. With Malik Willis. And if you want to say, this loss against old mess is an indication of why he's not the top quarterback in the draft. Go ahead. Feel free to do that, but again, I already quoted Josh Allen against Oregon, right? When you're on a an average to bad football team, at least in comparison to an SEC team and you lose, that's expected. You know, I don't know. I digress, but I just look at Willis and I'm really, really high on the guy..
