"But I could be wrong about that John The other thing I just wanted to mention based on your you know your production comment about Murray. Three hundred fifty five tackles in two thousand eighteen seventy one solo so that that kind of plays into what you were what you were talking about with him your thoughts on Murray in coverage as well as I mean it sounds like you think you're more confident in gay coverage than you are Murray based on athletics. Yeah like Murray. I think my actually in running faster than it. Does I think infil drafts. NFL draft scout has like a four five seven for Murray right now. That's definitely evident on film and I- Bengals Fan specifically are are so Intoxicated with just taking away tight ends in on on like it is not the same as it was five years ago when this when this issue really came up for the bengals and how the item was really starting to revolutionize the passing but now the tight end is being used more diversely in passing the US more as receivers being in the slot lining up at wide. If it's more than just having you know whatever strong side linebacker you have lined up against in your line tight end and taking rally as if it's not always up to a specific linebacker to match up with him. Acreage it's more. 'cause teams are more dependent on absorb coverages and they rely on more overhang. Defenders may be strong safeties handler. Also I don't know if mashing up and taken away tight end specifically is an asset. The bengals fans need to watch for linebackers. But I think given the right opportunity an athlete leg Murray can do that and especially a guy like gay can do that in certain in certain situations it. It's more about about just being disciplined. You're zone in being able to to cover a certain amount of ground in a certain amount of time because you know. NFL Defense is now are designed to basically basically allows stuff in front of them in collapsed on closely because offenses are getting so much smarter in in creating mismatches with whatever athletes that they have so. It's almost impossible to go love in Maine coverage all across the board Especially when offenses are going into or ten personnel more empty. Looks it stresses out that defense even more which which puts defenses more in zone coverage in takes a madman coverage net situation. So it's not necessarily about which linebackers can't match up against tight ends in whatever's on coverage you have it's just about you know having guys is reliable to trust their eyes and being in the right spots in in taking away. The big plays while allowing some short plays in front of them to happen but both those guys can collapse down on plays in front them quickly. It's just a matter of can they. Can they finish tackling one on in that scenario that both of them come to work on but in terms of being great athletes in space in providing You know coverage in intermediate zones. I think both those guys can handle that. Yeah well said there's not much really to add on that you you you hit the nail on the head there and I mean I think like like you said really. It's not always going to be up to a linebacker to cover a tight end. A pass catching tight end. Maybe sometimes here and there but it's GonNa be can that's kind of a by committee thing right in the NFL these days but obviously the bengals need linebacker helped. That's why we both decided to go to linebacker this week. I see I see Dave Lennox says kicker. I actually preview to kick her today or not. I did I promise you I did and we may do that down the road but yeah I almost but we decided to go linebacker this week And as we go to to quarterback next week anything else you want to add about what these guys John Appear Nissan Com section linebacker coach. The Kern linebacker coach is ten Lukabu who came from another Mississippi state so there could be relationship between Mugabe in engaged self so I didn't even think about until now so I don't know if they're going to get rid of Kabul I think they're gonNA give you you know the entire defence a clean slate of linebackers might be the only one who survived so if that is the Kabo who's going to oversee the the the rebuild of that position position it could be a gala gay. Who Definitely knows from college? Where do you see this? Where do you see both these guys going? I said I thought Murray was probably a top two. You Probably Second Round Guy. Where do you see Gig on again again? It really depends on what the NFL looks because he had that suspension. He has at injuries if he does declare is going to be a very inexperienced through your player and that could other plumbing his draft stock but it could also intrigue teams saying that. This guy might have more upside than what would originally perceived again having that acid of being coverage guy it could propellent maybe even the third round like right now. If you finishes you know the season strong I think I guess the only has is like one gay left in this game so if he does have a strong performance there to close out the season maybe he declares he winds up somewhere in the middle of the top of the third round. So so it's definitely not going to be a first round Be a second CY player. But you know we're talking about the bengals have injected a linebacker above the third round since I guess remodeled Lucas could be in the range as for where they might look at it. Yeah I mean this position. Group is hard to predict where they end up. I mean everybody in the in their mother I I mean I had him in the second the second round when I when we did our mock draft. Mak Wilson everybody in their mother thought he was the second rounder. Maybe third runner. He felt what all the way to the fifth or sixth round. So Oh you know. This is a hard position to predict especially for maybe guys that are viewed as a little bit more limited for three inside guys. Or what have you. It's it you know if you can only play one or two downs or perceived to be able to play one or two downs the NFL. You'RE NOT GONNA get taken on day one or two so it's just that's the reality of it This is the orange black insider bangles podcast. He's John Sheeran. I'm Anthony Costanza. James obviously but real quick I know is there's some bengals fancy WanNa win or some BENGALS FANS WANNA lose regardless the outcome can be can be positive positive either way because a lose potentially gives the browns more confidence in Freddie kitchen looks way in over his head so regardless of the outcome I think the bengals are still going to be a decent shape. "You know, the draft was interesting, obviously with greedy and MAC Wilson two guys that you know, at one point were projected, I only go in the first round, but we're projected at the top of their grouping their position groupings offer. Whatever reason Mak Wilson slipped. I don't know if it was the Clemson tape or if just his production peeled off a little bit toward the end of the year. And I also think there might be a little bit of of concern about Alabama players when they start getting dinged up that they really work them. I mean Knicks. There's a reason why they're so dominant. I think they get practiced and pushed harder than any other team any other school and college football. And I think that wears on them. And that's why a lot of these guys end up getting hurt early in their careers and often in their careers. That's an interesting thought think. That's part of it too. I did talk with we had a like I say splendid time in Nashville, and we spent some time at zach's B's work in the drive through with Reshad Evans, the anchor. What a what a delight? He was right. I mean, a rare level of of humor and. Just easy. Go and fella. And we were talking about Quinn. And then everybody else he was for him to fall, which we knew he wouldn't. He's an all time since I've been here. Dp guests even used to great. And then the days later having Devon white as well. We got lucky to all time. Devon, white was your favorite guy at the draft. Yeah. I mean, I don't think anything was close. He was super funny, but keep Christian Wilkins was pretty Wilkins. Really good moments. After almost killed the Commissioner of the NFL them tried to. Yeah..

"Back. It is marks race. Let's let's get back into it. I just wanted to let me give one mention here to Phillies great series for the Phillies, obviously off tonight. So they've they've two days off this week and how they can get away from that. We'll we'll we'll be the ballpark tomorrow. So they're off today. And then they're all Thursday again. But we'll be there tomorrow as I mean, I've been waiting for this series for years the Detroit Tigers come into town and been here since two thousand seven thank God. They're back. Yes. It is the problem with interleague play. Like, what do I care about the time? Not the problem with interleague players when you're playing ale central right? Let's say a challenge for us. And we're not we're not trying to like make ourselves. Look good, or they were just being honest. How many Tigers players can we name collectively in this entire room? Oh, I I don't know. Everybody's gone Miguel Cabrera there yet. One. They could never get rid of hand. Okay. You got Mickey is still over there. And no more Justin Verlinden, right? Just not their past the Castellanos the leftfielder. Now, he came up as a as a third baseman or he's an outfielder. Got for you. Yeah. Overlander no more. Sure. Martina? Stories. Yeah. George Zimmerman's hitter. Yeah. George Zimmerman something else in Kirk Gibson on that team. Nice not. Yeah. Yeah. The American there's no baseball night anymore. So I can't be glued debate night. Watching any of that the only I mean, the AL west is bad watch too. But I made this is bad hail central. Nobody watches the AL central. I'm looking at their roster. And I don't even I mean, I guess Tyson Ross and Daniel Morris spy be the most anonymous roster. I gain you'll Stumpf spent Spencer term, Philly Daniel stone, drew Verhagen, right? John Hicks, Gordon Beckham. Ronnie rodriguez. Asiago Jacoby Jones he's wide receiver right playing baseball. Now, they go we'll talk. So we should sweep these two games. Yeah. Never worked out like that. Right. But hey, good three or four against the Marlins did what they had to do. Now. I want to say this because I was pissed on on Saturday. Peta in their up ten to one. I don't care if you given up a couple of singles he talked his way into the sixth inning, right, dude. You can't talk smack like you did and say I did my job and they didn't and area. What did I say not pathetic Arrietta on Saturday? So you can't talk smack and then come out your next start and give up five runs over five innings and talk your way out into the six inning. You have a lot of pitches. Sorry, dude. You're gonna talk that smack back it up. All right. So I was r when you were talking about she weren't wrong. But you can't come out and lost the game. Yeah. I'm still upset at area ten to one which turned in ten to nine. And then they get a couple insurance runs, and then the nurses out there with the tying run at the plate in the top of the ninth have a heart attack this onion like the have five. He gave Bryce Saturday Bryce don't give him a half off. Yeah. Cigars back. Oh my God. Thank god. He's their offense right now. He's good. He's good. The least talked about free agent sees trae Troy frame right yet. Yeah. The least talked about acquisition was the best player. Got it done, man. Get back to the phones. Coach Mike check it in with coach Mike what's going on guys. How you doing buddy? I got my voice, I got or toes. So yes, I certainly iconic it could make anything sound good look at Johnny March. Joe Dr glad and restoration. No, not really, really bad. That's all right. All right. Basically, I'm happy. I'm pretty happy drafts. Love the skill players. And I would have taken a different alignment. I did like the idea going line I but that'll play out. He owing thing I didn't like was defense round. We talked about MAC Wilson like a week or two ago. He only went about ten before. I guess my question is why did he drag on so long Mak Wilson? The linebacker from. Yeah. What what was the story? I heard because he was on the board as best available for a while. Yeah. Story heard. So is the the running back out of Trayvon? What's his name? I'm blanking right now. Trivial Williams that was a couple of guys I know the kid from Miami tackle. Supposedly had some issues off the field to where heating drafted at all. And they were talking about him being like second or third round pick of juror Willis. Yemen had some issues he didn't get drafted. And oh man couple guys that they don't like sometimes we don't know these the the backstory's the reports medical histories things that nature was some players that we think should go out the board early. Hell Jalen mills was a third round projected player after two thousand eighteen Willis considered a first round pick heading into right into two thousand nineteen eighty didn't get drafted so obviously. And there was often on the field incidents medical issues. Right. Like knee injuries or some do it because the one safety from Alabama that I thought the eagles may draft before they took Sharieff Miller Miller Wilson Miller that safety of Alabama Deontay Thompson. That's who. I thought the eagles would go after I was surprised they went wide receiver, even though I was asking for it. I didn't think I. The second. Yeah. Yeah. I mean at third but the second around. Yeah. I mean, the the running back it just set up perfect. It's kinda. Yeah. I I was even though I was still being like how they're going to screw this up. They didn't. And they took it. I was not expecting a wide receiver with that with fifty seven. I kinda thought they would go safety or wideout. I know those two positions that they wanted to sort of look I mean, I just think safety we're looking at board down to. They probably figured Whiteside was rated higher than the safeties. That were on the board at the time. Because the the Florida safety was still available Chauncey Gardiner John was still there and the kid from Alabama was still there named Phil. Like this kid was a highest higher rated player. Here's the thing. I think how he was absolutely right about. We're all going to be pleasantly surprised and happy would our Sega Whiteside. Stanford late at night. People don't watch Stanford play. So they don't know who he is wide receiver. We felt the same way about Zakar common out. Yeah. A lot of people the same way about Christian McCaffrey coming out. You don't get a chance to watch him play as much you figure Stanford football players coming from Stanford. Apparently, some pretty good ones. I guess what was his name? Mom, David David Xiao's, pretty good coach out there. Yeah. But developing these guys, I don't know if they're lineman or what's what's going on the D line? But I know skill guys that have come out recently. And again, there wasn't many draft marks. I went and looked didn't have our Sega as a second round guy. Right. He went where he went where you go. Right. Right. Exactly. And I guess Sanders. I mean, just mile Sanders going slip into fifty three there. Just wasn't a need. He second the second back in the draft. There just wasn't a need like some other teams had a few years ago. The why not there let's go to angry, Al. Hang reality. How are you? Hey, what's up? What's up? What's up how you complete game about? Baseball. Two hours thirty some minutes. The game was about that. That sounds supposed to be played. You're supposed to complete the game. Now, you got a guy come on. He can't forever over twenty pitches. Five million years out? So you're being old grumpy guy that saying that that you don't let them throw. The problem is with these pitchers. FM was good, right? Like the he was he threw one hundred seven pitches. The problem with the Phillies pitchers min for nine innings. Because that's the way pitchers are now, they should have never started at crack. Oh, he's a mental release guy. I like the baseball back when when left he took you all way to nine just about every game. He threw three down. Everybody's eighty innings. He threw three hundred eighty innings couple of those years. Got much better technology to keep the athletes and much better shape. But they can't play as much now face with that crap. Great complete grain. And you're a hundred percent right with the situation. They win the night here. So. Yep. Yes. Over there that boy. Oh, boy all over man. I'll co I had one of those games where it was going to be tough to beat them with the way that he was going off in the first half. Well, you know what they don't even worry about bin score. Not all he needs to do tonight defense on on water. Yeah. And and you're you have to worry about that just keep him tied down. Don't let them get another forty five and then being better. Is done in there. You're right, man. He talks a lot of crat does. Right. I'm telling you win night. Joan all right. Mark. I got up. I saw you. I having to take insulin because he was not taking good care of himself. And now he's off. Stop smoking. All right. Even telling me for ten years going to stop smoking in a good start by good start by F for sure back complete game needed. It. That's where in baseball. Forget about the Phillies in baseball. They got saw where he's only four th pitcher to throw a complete game as a nationally. Yep. Oh, yeah. Today's of ROY halladay chilling or long long gone. So the fills get back tomorrow night right here on wwl people beat the ballpark tomorrow leading up to the much intimidated the Troy Tigers arrival into Philadelphia eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four eighty eight seven hundred ninety four ninety four. It's the marks and reshow. Hey, come back, and we have tweets and taxable run. The phone calls to hang tight. We'll get to everybody on the other side. It's Markson in recent ninety four w I p listen if you tired of dealing with those old, inefficient windows in your house. Maybe it's time to go. "Dreams go. We went offense offense. But I got a question for you. I mean, you ain't got started taking been there. He played pretty I wanna know why. They don't value linebackers much that used to Jimmy Johnson. When Jim Johnson was around like fresh, especially now like saquon Barkley in the east. The ball from the Redskins. I'm just wondering why when back aren't gonna get to the second level of our different. How come we don't value? The death part of the defense as much as we should. I think they do value linebackers. I think there are other positions. They may value more than linebackers. I think when you're putting together a roster. You're going to look at how you certain positions within your scheme. If you're skiing features certain positions more than you're gonna put more of a premium on that position in this defense. You know that the Y nine defense is a defensive lineman's defense is not a linebackers defense. Ask yourself other than making tackles what do the linebackers do in this defense? Make tackles. That's that's pretty much because they have to somebody has to be attacks. So they'll send them on blitz blitzes sometimes. But it's not a big part of what Jim Schwartz. Does. It doesn't use linebackers to blitz and you can look around the league and the thirty two teams. Tell me how many star linebacker. They're out there that don't rush the passer. Exclude the three four. I mean, that's what I was going to say guy or three defense. Right. It's taken on the identity of eagles defence more of you have a couple of guys out there. But they're three of them out. There aren't out there for for all three snaps. Two of them. Sometimes aren't even out there for all three snaps. It's just the way the game is going way. The game is going now. He was gonna do a better job of selecting the linebackers when they do select them if they would have taken a linebacker into fourth or fifth round. Who knows if he if he can play or not, you know, I mean who knows you're not talking about a first or second round pick, and it was only really to impactful linebackers. Right. And they went in the top ten right? The Devin Bush endeavor nam Bush went ten and never white. Yep. He went to Tampa got. So those only two linebackers. I don't even know where the next linebacker was drafted that kit. Mak Wilson along the Wilson stay on the board of everybody wanted to eagles draft in the second round about eating heating gobbled up to Saturday. Yeah. I mean, he was doing air Saturday. So I think he was a fifth fifth round pick. My buddy Len me says he says weapons galore for the west wagon defense Darby at one corner. Jones Douglas on the other Maddox nickel cornerback backup safety along with mill Super Bowl or bust. Agree. The super bus Carson's gonna have to score thirty five points a game at this rate. Like, I feel like this puts a lot more pressure on Carson. I realized that they helped him Dr Jim sports if we averaged thirty points a game, and we can't win the Super Bowl. Yeah. He's gonna get clock. Audible you're gonna come down to Carson because this year, they're gonna be more pressure on Carson than ever as crazy as that sounds because they have given him everything he has a pristine offensive line. He has incredible office. Dolphins. That happened over the weekend. Took the words out of my mouth. Wasn't pristine above average. Jason Kelsey lane. Johnson you put with Andrea both every Android Dillard or Jason Peters. Brandon. Brooks comes back. That's a really good offensive line. You have great receivers you have depth that running back now like to me if Carson can't come through this year. He gets hurt again where he's not anything close to what he wasn't 2017. Even if he's a little short of that people are going to be disappointed unless he has a twenty seventeen level season again with everything around him. It will be a disappointment. And that's why there's a lot of pressure on him. Here's the again with the one concern. The two thousand seventeen defense, and I know it didn't help in the Super Bowl because the defense wasn't very good in the Super Bowl, but they had four guys get could get to the passer four defensive ends that routine leaky to get to the quarterback. Right. I mean that defense to me just looked looks better than the defensive. They have lining up right now. I looked at good in April. No. When you have like, it's a finished product. You're not a finished product. But yet at Twenty-seven-year-old Rodney McLeod who was making plays. You have Patrick Robinson to your point was added later on was may pick up. You have a Michael Kendrick? She was able to step in and he listened he really performed that a lot of games right there. Nigel Brad him was more or less paint plan for contract. Knock with thirty years old. Brandon was twenty nine he was two years younger than he is right now. Chris long situational. Got to the pet got to the quarterback Fletcher. Cox had a monster season, Jordan Hicks, even though he only played a couple of games at least going into the season. You're like, wow. He's gonna be good that even Bo Alan it, just it just was better defense at least on paper of where we are. Right now. Bo Allen was a big contributor to that team. So the w- the one the one aspect of this team right now not a Super Bowl team winning a Super Bowl down. I didn't know. But that's what I'm focused on right now. Did they do enough on defense to get there? Mark, Maryland, Mark. How are you? It was happy. All right. Hey, I'm all with on the offense of moves. And we are on defense. We got picked up a linebacker from the Steelers guys in day from the Viking L fort. And yeah, I mean, we're going to pick up some linebackers when all teams cut people going to be good member last time when we when when she was on the way, you're on the Serb bowl. He was putting up big point because he had big gruza running back and yet weapons that's where we're gone, thanks taking my call my mart. I appreciate Jordan Howard is gonna be the blood. Yemi? Why he he's I think he's going to be it's going to be more reliable. But there's not really any of the options other than Jordan Howard. And mal Sanders by the way, a rookie yet now is better than we'll get mcgarry blood. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely lot younger. So who who's who's going to be on the team is running back? This means it sprawls. He's not coming back. I would say no, I would say why would you brings broS back. I would say, I don't know. It is Adams coming back the Addams family. What else young Gaza come to camp? You always need camp bodies. They're gonna fly now for running back. They are of course, they are. It's not it's not college football. Scholarship. You gotta hurry spots. Every year we have death all over this offense offensive line tight ends running backs wide receivers Nelson's even back to a specialty type role making nine point four million eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four. It's Markson Reese coming up at three o'clock top of the hour. Your chance to win a thousand dollars the seventy Sixers play today was that that was just I hold out on Saturday night and ready tonight though, he ready closer game. They ready get into the fourth quarter. To the fourth quarter. Make it a fourth quarter game come down stretch make shots eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four you have to keep you. But you're right. Get the the the game can't get away from the early JJ was bad early. I know that if you look at his final box gory picked it up a little bit. But he was he was bad early. "The tyreek situations obviously certain shouldn't we be talking about the chiefs drafting multiple wide receivers next week and one fairly high. I know we talked a little bit about receivers earlier. But should we be should we be more aggressively talking about taking a wide receiver in around one, Mattie Koby? I'm glad you asked because we should I feel like we've done a pretty good job of this podcast talking about the possibility of around to wide receiver, which I think in this class counts as a highly drafted weather Seaver. But even looking at the two guys that are here. Sammy Watkins in Byron Pringle, one didn't play all last year. Sammy Watkins contract is made to get out of after this year. If you don't bring back Taibbi killer, obviously gonna keep walking around at least for that final year. But it's team that needs receivers especially fill is in the long term plan. So yeah, looking is receiver at pick twenty nine probably is a backup plan to defensive player. Or just the fact that it's the best player available on the board. But it's an option in if you don't see when there I would be a little surprised if you get out of day to without seeing wide receiver drafted by the chiefs is like you said this team that needs wide receivers. They loved the spread the field out in use multiple three four wide receivers at the time. I love Byron Pringle. But I'm not sure I'm ready to have him be the only option that role right now, not only should they target one this year. I don't know that they should do multiples because next year's class. And I know that everybody hears it and hate it. But seriously next year's wide receiver class is. Low did bonkers bonkers ridiculous. If you watched any college football this year and went oh, wow. That receivers really good. He's in next year's class. Like Levinsky should all I receiver from Bama. Yes. Guys favorite receiver going in the next year right now off the CD see dealer come on. Now, you can't come out here and take my guy when I asked viscous Chanel. I'm going this guy. I really like him. I don't know if he's the best player in this class receiver in this class. But like every time I watch him. I come away. Just like impressed. I had CD lamp to. He was my guy once I lay out Mak Wilson that locked in you come up with somewhere else. I think Jerry Judy believe he he's there. Yeah. And he's a guy that I don't think it has quite as much production some other guys as right now, he's not catching on. But in terms of how transitions to the NFL. He's a guy that I'm high up there. So I didn't up you crack, just know Bono, your home it. But I mean, it makes a lot of sense to add a guide this year, get him integrated. And then bring in a guy next year as a third wide receiver, or you know, shoulder and a little more that load and going forward, and then you have to rookie wide receiver contracts to play with Patrick Mahomes that works that's that's a good plan of attack. When you're having to pay Patrick Mahomes after twenty twenty and I just want to add I think LG swear kind of asked a similar question. What makes sure shout him out? I think something like I'm going to try to do better about that. Just like if there's multiple of the same questions we just need to shout. Everybody shout. Everybody else who asked it because I mean, we want we want to give you probably we get a lot of like sometimes be a lot of the same questions. But you know, you guys all ask great questions we pre sheet Andrew Metcalfe seven asked how high could you see that? She's trading up top twenty top fifteen top tanned. And what player has the best chance of sliding where the cheese trade for him? So I'll just talk a little bit about. Like trade up scenarios. I don't think that she's realistically can get up to thirteen or any like that top fifteen minutes. I think that's going to be a challenge. One scenario..

"I think the longer Devon white is out there the harder. The Steelers will push for it. I mean, if they're not going to have to go up inside the top five, let's say they're going to have to go at like say seven or or if he's there at nine when buffalo is going going to pick the Steelers gotta make that trade. I'd give up both third rounders from this draft just to go up and get Devon white. Now, Devon Bush. I will do that for maybe one third round. Because I think I'm gonna need some more depth pieces along the way with that. But I will be honest with you if they don't get the Devon's I don't want them to panic and take the next best inside linebacker in the first round. Also Steeler fans. Don't flip out if they don't trade up, and they don't get the Devon's. Because last year I was shocked. This didn't happen last year. But last year's inside linebacker class was so weak the thought they must have when they didn't make a move and didn't get one of them. When later within that they tried to. You've got to got to realize that they might have someone that they think that they can get later that they take is going to be just as good. I personally do not really think that Mak Wilson is the right fit for the Steelers. I don't think he is the coverage guy they need. I think he's not as much of a Ryan shazier as he is Vince Williams, I would much rather use the second round pick. If the Steelers don't have it inside linebacker on someone like. That can't remember. The linebacker out of NC state. I do believe his name is Jerome Pratt. Is that correct? Brian. Jermaine bread in Pat. I couldn't read I couldn't read my writing. Yes. I think he has more because you gotta think even with inside linebacker. You have different types of inside linebacker. Everybody knows that Vince Williams and Ryan Shazia are two different types of linebackers. We have of instruments we have John Bostick. We don't need another one of those. We need the coverage linebacker. So you've gotta make sure you're going after the best coverage linebacker that. You get. Okay. So Brian what are some other? He did a good job with thing that day to players rounds two or three who are some players that you might have on your list that if the Steelers don't get a Devon say, even miss out on MAC, he brought up Pratt. Who are you thinking this deals could still targeted inside linebacker? Brian sorry. Maybe it was stuck there. Yeah. Sorry stuck. So what I'm looking at here is there's two guys besides Pratt. That I was looking at one you don't really want to go with because I agree with Dave. And that's trae l'amour from Clemson. I think Trey is more of a Vince Williams, a running type, I mean, a run stop or more. I kind of like going the TJ route at linebacker from Wisconsin. And that's TJ Edwards. He's six foot. He's two thirty. But he's he's pretty solid as a both rushing the passer in the run game. And as a as a coverage linebacker as well, I like what he was talking about brat would probably be my next guy. Then I would go Edwards at that point. And if you look down the line somebody they talked to today out of the university of Maryland, go turps was trae Watson, he's six to thirty six and he looks like he could do a little bit of both as well. But what Dave said about if you're going to go ahead and target Mak Wilson, I'm saying that you trade down at that point. If you want an inside linebacker that bad you trade down on the first round and get another pick because you're not taking don't take MAC Wilson twenty. It's just not. I mean that that would be a total stretch where you could get something else out of that pick. I would I would trade out. I would trade down a lot lower pick somebody else personally..

"Although I would doubt that the biggest thing is he did not run at the combine. But that's the definitely the top three right there. What you have Brian. You have contests. Yeah. That top three is is the same. I really think they're only two true first rounders. And that's the Devon's I would think that Mak Wilson could be a consideration. Late in the first round. But I see him going the direction of Landon Collins where everybody thought Landon Collins a few years ago was the first runner at safety. And he ended than teams work hard to trade up to get to that for the first pick of the second round. And the the giants did trade up. And so I actually see that happening with Mak Wilson with him being after the dust settles from night one. I could see on day two he going pretty high, which if the Steelers cannot get one of the Devon's I would I would want them to go. Elsewhere and actually do what trade up to get back in the second round if they possibly could. So I agree with you on those three before we move on. Let's assume I think we're all going to agree that they're going to trade up to get either. Devon, you agree. Yes. Or no, Dave. Some projecting that they wouldn't necessarily have to Devon Bush. I don't think there's any chance. Well, here's I'm gonna. What there's no chance for him to be there twenty. Here's the thing. I don't know that I wanna trade up for Devon Bush. There's a couple of things about him. I love speed. I love his athleticism. There's some things if you want to try to compare him collegiately due to let's say Ryan shazier that there are a few red flags he had hardly any tackles for loss that weren't sacks. So in the run game, he did not have very many tackles for loss. But some of that could be the system he was in. I I am highly concerned when the Steelers look at someone who because of the combine shoots up everybody's draft board because I seem to happen to recall a certain player by the name of Alvin do pre who didn't have the best tape but shot up everybody's draft board. Good leading into the draft because of the crazy measurable 's that you have at the combine. And then all of a sudden here he is when they were doing the combined. I guess typer mcshea whoever they have best available. They do stuff during the draft. There's one Alvin do pref- from Kentucky sitting on the top of that list for a good seven picks when it comes to the Steelers who ended up taking him because they didn't think he was going to be there at that time because of that and of oh, I don't think he's a bad player. I don't think he's also lived up to a first round pick. So anytime at someone's combine that makes them really go through the roof. I've always I don't think that's worked very well for the Steelers. Hello. I'm Spencer hall from Espy nation. And I wanna tell you about my new show. It seemed smart it seems smart as a show about people doing things that for some reason or another seem smart at the time. Those things might include doing a little cocaine and driving a bike up a mountain or I don't know maybe racing one hundred miles per hour across the country in the middle of the night with no one's permission or even stealing a bat from an empire is room in a major league baseball park, check it out. And if you like it tell a friend, I'm Spencer hall. Don't do anything smart. Go ahead, Brian. What do you think about all that? You know, what I really think Devon bushes? The guy that they're going to have to trade up for I saw a mock with a lot of trades from CBS today where they have Pittsburgh trading up. Just two spots the Vikings at eighteen to get Bush. It just depends what a few teams are going to do Cincinnati's a big one Cincinnati always likes to pick..

And our next guest is certainly heading in that direction. The great linebacker from the university of Alabama Mak Wilson who announced the other day that he will move on after distinguished career at the university. Mac. Thank you, very very much for joining us. Good afternoon to you and congratulations on your time at Alabama. You as well. Thank you for having mad before we talk about Alabama. I I want to ask you because we just got through playing a clip in commemoration of this holiday honoring Dr Martin Luther King. And I know the young people don't have the kind of recollection as some of us who were alive during Dr king's life. But but as a young person growing up in Montgomery, Alabama place that was very integral in Dr king's rise. As a minister, he he pastored a church there. What does this day mean to you? Mom did Cain was a man who's bear quarter in and around Montgomery, basically, you know, well from his fight for civil rights and equal rights Islam able to play football the grade school. I Alabama, you know, he was a hero. And he sewing America, what Kerr's released like, and he also, you know, he died for freedom as well. Well, what an what an incredible and very poignant answer for someone who who grew up many years after Dr king had left Montgomery, but that's that's that's really very memorable answer. Well, MAC let me move on to your career Alabama. Now that it's over. I'm sure a lot of memories are passing three your your mind. What stands out? What stands out? I mean. My career is is being able to play, you know, with a lot of great group of guys, you know, even from freshman year until this point, you know, hallways at great teammate can't teammates and he always loved each other like brothers. And you know, there's just experience a play on the great coaches and also on great coaches in the world coast, saving, you know. It was a huge unin. That's something that cherish forever. You know, you can't get back that time. I enjoy my years here. But know, you got to move on to that next step in life. And not to rush you to the NFL, but certainly projection this is projection season. And there's there's still plenty for you to do in terms of of working out and being examined. But how do you feel right now? What are you hearing? I feel great. You know? I here a lot of things, you know, I have possibly chance to go. First round say, go out there around or whatever the case may be. But you know, I'm not paying visits anything like that. Because at the end of the day, you know, the worst you'll have to be put in I still have to case, you know, my ability to to beat a player everybody thinks I am I still have to. So you know, NFL teams that have great care some great person. You know, I love football. And I'm not just playing football just to be playing. So, you know, there's a lot of things that you know, I have to work on to these next fast six weeks before the combined to continue to be a better person than a player. Now, not not to Russia. It's only been two weeks since your last game. But what what are you doing right now? Because this isn't something you can just take vacation. I mean, you gotta get ready. What what are you doing right now to to get ready for the combine? You know, obviously we lost. You know, he got back took the the Sunday off the Monday off. And I went to work at Tuesday, you know, because there's no there's no time to be waste. I can't be sitting around with everybody else worked hard and preparing themselves to you know, for the next chapter. We read it was behind by this, Dan one or the fourteen to be in the college football playoff. So therefore, it wasn't too much time to kinda like rest and chill and enjoy life..

We will play it shortly. After the top of the next hour. Let's go to Mel an Albuquerque New Mexico. Hello mel. Doing great. Thank you for asking. Let's good since it's Martin Luther team. Just one remodeled. People back in the day. I don't remember. It was eight sixties or the early seventies. Put all used to watch all sporting events when my father, and he told me that this one game was going to be a historic game when they're Bryant invited. John McCain and USC Trojan swell them to play his. In nineteen nineteen seventy in Birmingham. Yes, sir and bear Bryant was strengthen integrate his team because of the people didn't want the the players play for them. But after he invited John McCain over there, and they beat Alabama. Oh there with Sam the bam Cunningham and stuff team of players like that he was able to integrate the Alabama teen incentives. Now, let me let me jump in here for a second because there's a lot of fantasy here. And you are correct did legion field was was a seminal moment. And it changed perspective. I people, but it is a fact that bear Bryant had to African American players in the stands that night. I believe it was Wilbur Jackson, and John Mitchell, they had both already I may be wrong on one, but they had both already committed. But they were freshmen Mitchell was a transfer J J C transfer. So he had already made that move. So there's a lot of fan. There's a lot of there's a lot of stuff about that night that just isn't true. But documentaries have been done books have been written. And it was that line of demarcation. Well, I appreciate Mr. pint bomb because I I do remember Wilbur Jackson playing on L endless team. I always enjoy watching the SEC. And until he watching shows to what he called you guys have a nice day. Now great to hear from him. I appreciate it. Bring that up. That is a very important moment though in in SEC history. How is in Atlanta? And you're on the air. Good afternoon. How good afternoon and thank you so much but taking my call Mr. finebaum whilst remember may. But I'm one of your older listeners. I'm ninety two. Oh mine. LSU in nineteen fifty. Woo. A World War Two veteran. Good fan. I was born in Texas raised in Louisiana now, I've been Georgia. And now the southwest concerts of fan. My burst ten years, Texas, say nab was my favorite team. And I want to take the fans back to the nineteen thirties. When Texas M would come to Baton Rouge over a thousand. Of these young cadets would hitchhike from college station to Baton Rouge to go to the game. Now, there wasn't any television. But the newspapers and radio would announce it and these young kids all of the motorists love to pick them up some of went way out of their way to get these young boys to the LSU game. Now, we've got a brand new rivalry LSU and Texas A and M has joined the conference. So that's a few years back. I ask you a question. How I'm fascinated by by certainly your history. When considering what you have what you've done in your life and your service, and you're you're keen observations. I'm really interested in in my lifetime. I it's I'm just dumbstruck by the changes. But but you're certainly someone who who got out of school in in in one thousand nine fifty what? What surprises you the most today in two thousand in nineteen things that I mean, none of us could have expected a lot of the things that have happened from technological standpoint. But what what considering what you've seen in? And you saw a war that nearly ended mankind. What are your thoughts about? What is going on today in twenty nineteen? Well, I don't like to hate cred. I everybody seems to be so polarized thoughts and philosophy. Given your next door. "And it was a stylish, but it wasn't an accident on the touchdown. That sends Clemson up forty three before the extra point. Right. The final touchdown of the game. The touchdown pass against. Get t Higgins my favorite kind of wide receiver because cannot catch a wide. Open five yard, curl. However can catch a thirty eight yard acrobatic one arm catch downfield with a stray dog ran on the field clinging to his leg. Right. That's that's the best kind of wide receiver. That's t Higgins go back and watch that to see what Trevor Lawrence was capable of doing. And how good he is. And what a physical advantage. He has just being that tall and having that strong arm because when he puts that ball up. He is throwing it with two defenders in tow who has to clear and one who has the throw on the top of Mak Wilson who if you'll watch Macklowe sit on that throw is at full Vert. He is at least two and a half beat off the ground and full extension with the arm and Lawrence throws over him and Higgins goes up and gets it because that's what he does. He gets very difficult catches traffic and he's extremely good at it this great season recap. But just getting that ball. They're all mine that you're talking about this until next season. Yeah, I'm sure this is the only thing that happened all season. You know, what point taken care marry tough for four months about how okay two teams are are standing astride the rest of the country. You know, every every other team has four losses. You know, every team is clearly flawed. These are the you know, we we could have Sumed to the title game three months ago. You know, what maybe we did? I don't really remember anything else than Bama getting. It's ass kicked. What we we owe. Clemson a debt gratitude to that. I don't think has been articulated yet. Guys. We're not gonna hear anything else about how Georgia should have been at this. That was something Alex was saying since the very beginning like Georgia, what a lucky draw you didn't have to play Clemson. George. I think the only people who were owned more than I was when I said that Georgia's the real winner of the offseason 'cause I get to beat Texas by like thirty points or whatever pretend that Clemson would not have done that to them. The only people who are worse than that were Georgia fans who liked before that they were like sending like, you know. I'm not gonna say they were sending death threats. But it was like, you know, kill yourself like, you know, you're from Georgia. We're not talking about end. Clemson beaten them by like forty eight instead of thirty. But I think they are still winners for having. I'd rather Texas by seven Sugar Bowl, then have whatever closing done to them like that would have been a dismemberment. But what is it what a hundred seventeen if a seems didn't have to play Clemson something like that hundred sixteen? Yeah. Something like that. They're all winners. The biggest one is probably tweet you're saying, I think Clemson as football toys R us. You know? They're very they're very farm how they have a slide in their facility, but like don't layoff in pay severance. You know, like if they have to paint, they'll be very ruthless with you in this case laying off not paying you severances putting the head coach Simon motion on a jet. Sweep while you're twenty eight formats left in the championship. They're very ruthless. I mean, I think gets a great point. Maybe they're like football intendo. Yeah. They're super funds were popular when they do something. They do it the best. But at the same time, it'd be like. Yeah. That that very popular eight bit machine it's gone by you can't get any more. We're done next. I thought my favorite thing about this game was how you can look at so many of those little moments. So many of those things that usually when Bama loses that is the thing that it came down to like Johnny Manziel throwing some bullshit pass or ole miss doing a helmet or Stephen Garcia blacking out and throwing touchdowns or you know. Oklahoma Trevor whatever his name, I don't I only got room in my mind for one Trevor the other Trevor Trevor Knight Trevor nights suddenly turning into you know, Johnny unites like all these fluky little weird on replicable things that happen when Bama loses. There were like thirty of those things in this game..

"So I do wanna make that substitute before. I do give my my fourth most important cowboy in that one is going to be Byron Jones barn his played phenomenal football this year. One of the best corners in the NFL in that's one of the most important positions in the NFL nowadays is shutdown corner. That can just take away one side of the field. And he is completely done that his. Play is elevated the play of of Jobe woozy a Anthony Brown. Jordan Lewis exam your woods. He's made all those guys jobs easier and for that he is the fourth most important cowboy on this list. So possible breaking news of pretty much widely regarded as LB one in the upcoming draft. Mak Wilson might be staying in school. You can look at his Twitter for that. But a number four it is Byron Jones while I think he's been one of the top corners in the league this year. Maybe the best corner. Probably the stickiest guy. Even though he doesn't have the turnovers he will find ball skills. Eventually this is his first year at the position which makes it even crazier on. You're going to have to pay him an astronomical amount of money. Oh, yeah. He's the the fourth most important player because anybody that can just shut down an entire side of the field. Like, he does earn my respect. Cole who you got brother? A number of four I have tank DeMarcus warranties. Kinda like to pass you guys just mentioned by span. An important for the Stephens. He's been a guy that's the in virtually embargo boy in many inconsistencies guy that can get to the court like a will and is playing in another all pro tight level. He's a guy that Mandi leading his position. As been huge. He's a guy expected continue reckon hab ich is his decision progresses, muddy only when hates this exercise 'cause you get down to the three names left. And you're like what is second. I forgot somebody. Absolutely not because I put into my list. See you guys are better tonight. But I did and I did one on the show last night. There you go on vantage. Yeah. That's not fair. That's not fair. Surpri going to go back in half to nine just because I'm a loser. But not. My third most important cowboy is that Martin. I think that the. You know, the the level of play that he's played next June. Lou Joe loonie while having loud Collins who hasn't had a great season to his other side and having a backup replacement into his other side of the ability to keep up a consistent level of play. His just been phenomenal of he's been playing an elite level while being banged up. His toughness his skill set. Everything he brings to the tables just so important to this team. And that's why he is the third most important cowboy. Zack Martin's my third most important to. I'm not going to bog you down with other stuff. He's fantastic at what he does. He's probably the best at what he does. And he is really been the glue on this offense of line. So for that reason I'm in. Cole. Nia number three. I have the quarterback. I have Dak Prescott. Can mitt pick his gang say, he's not you can say that he needs to be better. And I agree with that. He said hold onto the football. And he's. Amc better plays in us have more anticipation, but then it as choreographer these team this guy, he's a guy and soap and his team go, and he's a guy that this team had to rely on east by very well and clutch moments..

"Download the app today. Gotta get Alabama credit. Seems like the decision to go up temple. They're really paid off one found a little rhythm. They haven't had especially when you're struggling a little bit in the passing game, which they honestly haven't done all season long. You've gotta find just a little bit of a change up to get some momentum. Maybe for them. It's just gonna little bit more uptempo. Let's not take as much time getting the play from the sideline. So it's force Georgia to keep their personnel on the field that way to get back to those quick reads like it's the football out of his hands into the hands of his receivers out space to so many of these guys could just straight up fly. That's one thing that I looked at. We just talk about Jalen wanna one of the notes that I have for Henry rugs. And he's not even he can fly right guys are fast. You just got to get the ball in the hands in their hands out the space. Harry it back deep the approach channel. Kickoff. Went ahead of the way. Make the argument is going to look to the end zone at Georgia. The ticket at the twenty five yard line downstairs, the Ross Tucker on the sideline fell as a reminder is Jake from comes back on the field. He was originally an Alabama commit and told me committed Alabama because he didn't have an offer from Georgia that changed when Kirby smart left, Alabama to go to Georgia. He offered drama scholarship from decommitted from Alabama. Obviously, he's the Georgia BULLDOGS now which opened the door for Alabama offers scholarship two to Tango by low. So as we see the dichotomy between these two quarterbacks, it's amazing. What might have been draw Georgia? From Warner Robbins, Georgia. Twenty five. Snap. Rob a big the head off one's Lexa picks it up block skits out to the twenty eight yard line. The again, a three. There is prom went down. Quickly Dylan roses was they're getting ready to apply the hit bring up second out at seven. That's okay. It's a tendency breaker for Georgia. All it does is it forces that backside defensive and to have to hesitate just a little bit more if they ever used zone. Read in the backfield to a swift to a Holyfield those guys are gonna now hold their position a little bit knowing that they've C J pulled out run around the edge receivers left. We receivers right. Second added seven eight. Shotgun. He's got the snap back against the four. Russ white as Whiteside. His. Back inside the Wrigley. Then dives out to the thirty nine ROY job. I riley. Ridley finding space eleven Dylan Moses attack, of course, down the Georgia. But since fourteen to go with a third quarter of one thing. I noticed what these Georgia wide receivers. They're coached. Well, they're wide receivers. Coach Cortes make has these guys doing exactly what they need to at the top of the rally, especially playing it's Alabama the speed they have in the secondary. Is you cannot wait for the football. You've got to get to the top. You come back to the quarterback to meet the football Holyfield in the backfield to the right of frog receivers out to the left. There's the snap. Frog. Gonna give it to Holyfield man visible full. Then got back with a lot of scrimmage. Not a defender in his face. Rightly took the hand off a little jump cut over to his wife. Got about a half yard Rick want Davis eventually made the stop talking going on after the play and give them a gain of a yard of the forty. It'll bring up second out of nine house Mak Wilson of thirty that squared him up initially up. High miss the tackle within kinda slid down lows able to get a hold of his feet along with three quantities. Holyfield to decide. Live your grace lift is back in all the right? Second out instead for the forty two receivers laptop receivers right Ron conscious hands and cuddle time or the tight end comes from the left. Shotgun snap crawl back to pass Nikki Russ steps up. Ron Ron White Sox five slides downside, of course, down. You doubt about the pretty seven your lawn. So that's gonna leave the third down short rag. I understand wanting to get down. But I think the first now. Yeah, that'd be he could potentially cut it back know trying to cut back into the middle of the field. But he saw safety bear down on a realize that he did not want to take that hit. Remember that the ball is ruled down where the quarterback starts the slide. Not worry ends up. Third down to. We receivers over to the left side of the nation wide will set to that side slipped back. Rob is in the gun. Ridley goes mostly from Lucca white like why is three Brom gets the snap. He's back. Russ gonna throw upside. Incomplete might have been. Brought out a lot of heat myspace. He's been really good in those situations today. But that's what she Carter coming right at it. Carter got a hand up there. The throw was tipped away. And I'll board down Georgia brings out the matzec oddly enough. Take from pre snap motioned out to the left side to his center. Lamont Gillyard, I think he was expecting suppressor. But then once the pressure from Saheed Carter came off the left side, both the left tackle the left guard ended up double teaming the defensive end who went inside one of those guys the left tackle should've bounced out the pickup Shaheen Carter, Henry rooks, Bhakti to return. The tomato woke standing ten Alabama very alert with fake year. There's the snap to kick it away by spiralling. Kick works running up the punt will go over his head and it's gonna way into the end zone. And that'll bring a football out to the twenty yard line with eleven seconds to go in the third quarter, Georgia leading twenty eight twenty one it's a fifty two yard kick..

I wish that had been I've in Maysville that was actually the great Bill rosinsky on ESPN radio calling the last nail and LSU coffin Saturday night, Alabama twenty nine LSU nothing in death valley. Welcome back to campus conversation, Monday, November fifth twenty eighteen joining me here to breakdown statement Saturday, and he was in LSU to watch that beatdown crisslow. Hello ceelo. Hello Ivan was just a perfect environment. And you're right about Bill rosinsky one of the best in the business. But it was a, you know, all this talk. And I spent some time wouldn't make last week. All this talk about new age, Alabama new Alabama that looked a lot like old school Alabama in the way. They just absolutely took it to LSU, and I look back through this series, Alabama or LMS one eight row now, and there's really. One common denominator. And that is that Alabama has owned the line of scrimmage. They have absolutely own. The line of scrimmage LSU has not been able to drive the football on them. Of course that said who has driven the football. On Alabama during this an unbelievable run. Well, that's true. Eight in a row and five of them in Louisiana three of those five in Louisiana by shutout which we will get into more indepth. Also joining us who saw nothing shutout in Lubbock Ryan McGee watch that very entertaining Oklahoma victory on the road at Texas Tech when he say McGee. Guys before we hit the record button on this that I it was good to see all the all the folks from the mobile writer, buddies, and from Texas Tech and Oklahoma hadn't seen any of them in a while. And when we had the two point conversion attempt that was returned nearly one hundred yards. For a two points. The other way, that's what I just reached out and patter bounded backs at all. Yes, it's good to be back in the big twelve. It was it was it was a thoroughly entertaining game. Although when it was over I was completely exhausted. Yes. Bid twelve really came to the party Saturday. A great game in Lubbock a great game in Austin. The very exciting finish West Virginia going for two and making it we will get to that game. We will get to all the games. We can from statement Saturday, Matt Morris and Brad Edwards will be here. Talking nerdy to us about the state of playoff contenders. And where they sit according to the data after week ten so we got a lot to do after we get out of the tunnel. Time did come out of the tunnel on campus conversation. So just for all the talk all season about the magnificence of the Alabama offense, and how this Alabama defense did not measure up to Nick Sabin standards. This was a this was as ceelo said at the top vintage Sabin Alabama defense. LSU could not run the ball which exposed the flaws and Joe boroughs game. He could not carry the LSU offense via the pass. He didn't have time to throw which ceelo low as you pointed out that was that was line of scrimmage and even at origin said after the game, we were not competitive. All of us expected Alabama to win. Did you have any sense from being on campus Thursday that that these guys were going to be this ready to go? You know? Yeah. No. They were ready. And when when is Alabama I've been ready in a big stage game to play it seems like on the road say Auburn last year, they weren't. But they were going to say only way on the road, though on the road in one of these kind of games, it seems like they're at their best and. I sense that until I had a chance to talk to tongue..

"Thank you very much. So I don't know if you were able to listen to Mr. Carville when he was on here, but he he already referenced your article saying that you make his points. Course, I love that guy. Isn't his interesting. I can see how he got Bill Clinton, elected president. Oh, man. Once I heard he wrote that baton avid get. I had to write a calm just to work in the old school references. I mean. Well, let's talk. Let's talk about your column. I and then we'll, we'll try to figure out what all happens when when you read this piece trying to take us through your mindset and what what inspired you to jump in front of your computer and start pecking. Well, I guess said I just wanted to write a column to work in a couple of, you know, he was in that movie. He was great. I just love the SEC. You know, you have characters like James Carville come on two weeks before the LSU Alabama game, get everyone around up. It just begged to be responded to. So what so? I mean, forgetting what he said because he's a politico and a pretty good one. I mean, I don't even know if I can ask these questions with a straight face. Where did you find that? He was off base other than the whole premise that. But what I read, what he wrote, I took it. I took it in cheek. I'm pretty sure that's what he was intended. But I kinda, he was hardly it was hardly tongue in cheek here, but. Let's get. Let's let's get to the facts of the matter of Joe. I think you're has been enough tongue-in-cheek today based on what I know and you may know something different Lee, but there's nothing Greg Sankey can do is her. He's not overturn the call. He probably should. It was terrible that Devon white suspended. Thinking about it this way. Okay. If he if Devon white goes through and destroys the quarterback right then maybe he doesn't get a call because Mak Wilson, Alabama linebacker didn't get a call against Tennessee when he took out their quarterback year. But. You know, he pulls up against an expert year old and his face math touches the other face masks of the quarterback. If he doesn't pull up, maybe their face masks, don't touch. Now, none of that has anything to do with what Carvel row. Okay. Because he went off the deep end. But this collusion thing. Let's talk about that because I mean, he he, he brought high winds restaurant into for those who don't know it's Birmingham's best known. James beard award winning restaurant, run by Franks debt. He suggested that the SEC boys and girls just hang out at the bar there and work on all their their collusion's such as forcing LS shoot at play Florida every year while they play, Alabama plays Tennessee. It seemed to go even deeper than that. He talked about other calls to had nothing to do with this particular case, you cover the SEC and I brought up the the, the Smith situation and the Hugh free situation is two reasons why Alabama fans in recent years have been hopping mad at Greg Sankey. Everyone stays Mana Griggs Sankey and listen. If those guys are eating Highland. What is there for Dan? Okay. Well, hey, by the way, Joe, the SEC's doing okay, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're gonna test over here. TSE network. LSU leads the SEC in opponent penalty yards. This year. They leave the SEC. All right, we'll. I mean, I feel like I don't even need to make this argument, but I'll go ahead and make a gay place. LSU bailout, like a hundred times over in that game, they would not beaten Auburn with those passenger parents calls. I mean, the refs practically put them in field goal range to win the game. LSU opponent penalties. This season seventy two, Alabama opponent penalties season Fifty-three into discussion. Florida had eleven pilled is one hundred sixteen yards issues. I mean that's more yard, Nick rush for Greg. Thank you was practically giving you the game. LSU had two penalty things. Georgia to Texas say gets more penalties before the game even start. Okay, so then Carvel love him. We all know what his. Doing splaine tongue-in-cheek, he's turning the rest said, but come on, let's be real. By the way. I mean, why white white has a tremendous impact on the game. But regardless of all that just heard from Danny Sheridan check with him about the opening line his, we'll open Sunday night..

"Thank you very much. So I don't know if you were able to listen to Mr. Carville when he was on here, but he he already referenced your article saying that you make his points. I love that guy isn't his interesting. I can see how he got Bill Clinton, elected president. Oh, man. Once I heard he wrote that in Baton Rouge advocate. I had to just write a calm just to work in the old school references. I mean. Well, let's start. Let's talk about your column first and then we'll, we'll try to figure out what all happens when when you read this piece trying to take us through your mindset and what what inspired you to jump in front of your computer and start pecking. Well, I guess said I just wanted to write a column to work in a couple of, you know, he was in that movie. He was great. I just love the SEC. You know, you have characters like James Carville come on two weeks before the LSU Alabama game, get everyone around up. It just begged to be responded to. So what so? I mean, forgetting what he said because he's a politico and pretty good one. I mean, I don't even if I can ask these questions with a straight face. Where did you find that? He was off base other than the whole premise that, but what I read, what he wrote, I took it. I think it. In tongue-in-cheek, I'm pretty sure that's what he was intended. But I, I kinda, he was hardly he was hardly tongue in cheek here, but let's get. Let's let's get to the facts of the matter of Joe. I think there has been enough tongue in cheek today based on what I know and you may know something different Lee, but there's nothing Greg, thank you can do is her. He's got no return the call, he probably should. It was terrible that Devon white suspended. Thinking about it this way. Okay. If he doesn't white goes through and destroys the quarterback right then maybe he doesn't get a call because Mak Wilson, Alabama linebacker didn't get a call against Tennessee when he took out their quarterback year. But. You know, he, he pulls up against next year old and his face math touches the other face masks of the quarterback. If he doesn't pull up, maybe their face masks, don't touch. Now, none of that has anything to do with what Corval row. Okay. Because he went off the deep end. But this collusion thing. Let's talk about that because I mean he he brought high winds restaurant under for those who don't know it's Birmingham's best known. James beard award winning restaurant, run by Franks debt. He suggested that the SEC boys and girls just hang out at the bar there and work on all their their collusion's such as forcing LSU at play Florida every year while they play a Alabama plays Tennessee. It seemed to go even deeper than that. He talked about other calls to had nothing to do with this particular case, you cover the SEC and I brought up the the, the Smith situation and the Hugh free situation is two reasons why Alabama fans in recent years have been hopping mad at Greg Sankey. Everyone stays mad agrout Sankey and listen. If those guys are eaten at Highland. What is there for Dan? Okay. Well, hey, by the way, Joe, the SEC's doing okay, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're. We can attest to it over here at the network. LSU leads the SEC in opponent penalty yards. This year. They leave the SEC. All right, we'll. I mean, I feel like I don't even need to make this argument, but I'll go ahead and make okay place. LSU bailout. Like a hundred times over in that game, they would not have beaten Auburn with those passenger parents calls. I mean, the refs practically put them in field goal range to win the game. LSU opponent penalties. This season seventy two, Alabama opponent penalties season Fifty-three into discussion. Florida had eleven pilled is one hundred sixteen yards against us. I mean, that's more yard knicker said, even rush for Greg Saiki was practically giving you the game LSU had two penalty Georgia to Texas and m. gets more penalties before the game even start. Okay, so then Carvel love him..

"I went to Nassau, Bahamas. Did you? Could you imagine now I know I can't imagine, you know, my wife and your wife. Can you imagine saying, hey, you know what? Ben go to football games so much for Levin me. This is great. I love you so much. I'm going to take you down to someone. So yeah, we'll take you to the grove. I'm gonna. I'm gonna take you to between the rich, you know, all those all those all those sayings like that would go over like, yeah, unfortunately, I have like thirty of those, and none of them can be mentioned on. You know, it's, it's you almost got brand. Can I say that would go over like flatulence and church? Sure, yeah. Oh, that's a big win for the for the worldwide leader. It's the scientific term that was it a house state by the way. We need to add to the rooster rewind. We're going to get that a little bit because it was kind of important their quarterback. Also, he pretty good speaking. He's talking about two, so two. Good man. So let's talk about to. Listen, I don't understand how to keep your works. What even does sample quarterback rating guests. But what I do know is ninety eight out of one hundred anything as good as seventy five out of one hundred or anything is good. If you're a passer and twelve touchdowns in a lot of times isn't even trying the second half and he won't be this weekend against Louisiana Lafayette. So, and he's not playing full games. No, he's not playing games. He's putting up astounding numbers astounding. And I actually asked saving after the game on the field win. Have you coached offense? This potent? And he said, we've had some good offenses around here, and he kind of looked at me like, I'm not going to answer that. He he, he didn't disagree with you. He just couldn't say that he'd disagreement in didn't look as great as to is, and it's accurate is he is. He's also got playmakers everywhere, whether it's Smith and Judy on the outside on the perimeter who we see running right there. But the cats that Smith made on the first offensive play of the game that game. It was. I play the game. I play the game Mak Wilson picked off a pass. Second play. The game is to Tonga by lower to devante Smith, the same hookup that won the national championship last year. That's all last place standing next to you believe bananas. Smith's catch was unbelievable, full full extension. Does this do like the look. Good. Okay. Probably have size a ball is in their hands anyway. The presenting me with a gift a juggernaut. Oh yeah. Have some of my casserole. So Alabama I mentioned is the ESPN chalk people say that the Vegas people are gambling because I said the Vegas people can't shut up about Alabama, like like they can't. The people who who study sports gambling say they can't remember these wiseguys out in the desert loving college team as much as they love them and just assume they're going to play off. Like that's just how it's going to go. Here's my opinion. My opinion is the only way that Alabama doesn't make the playoff is if they beat themselves and I don't want. I know a lot of y'all love the LSU Tigers and a lot of y'all watching love the allburn Tigers. Those are not good football teams. They are great football teams. Alabama is just a juggernaut juggernaut you know, the first time I heard that we're, you remember come fly with me the Michael Jordan movie. Yeah, the documentary. Yeah. The guy whoever the narrator was call. Michael, an offensive job or not in that movie and on. Never forget. I had the cassette. I watched it so much at broke the VHF, and I went and looked up well, juggernaut. Well, right. I knew who the new juggernaut minute because of the x. men. S. a comic book I love dropping coma books because I'm a dear and the headlights when it comes to comic books. Hey, so the playoff we have this thing in eastern called the playoff predictor, sip predict who's going to be in the playoff. And right now, these are the favorites and look at that number for Alabama. Eight eighty percents is so Georgia and Clemson right there in the team is kind of creeping up on the heels of those guys is the.

"But dark baby, I think, has starting traits at the next level. So good test here for Nick FitzGerald and the BULLDOGS Mississippi State about some of the some of the running back linebacker matchups this week. Yeah. So you know, we talked about Bryce love, good test for against Oregon. You know that front seven is fast. They're really fun group to watch. They're well coached by Jim Levin. The guy to watch nut front seven is Jalen jokes, gotta find a way to sneak his name there. Obviously. Jalen jokes. One of my favorite pass rushers in the country. He's long, he's explosive. He'll be charged with trying to set the edge against the Stanford rung, and they love to get Bryce love out in the perimeter. If Jalen jokes can set a strong edge, which he's got that length to be able to do it, and he showed the willingness to do it last year. I like him. I really excited to see how he looks in this game against that Stanford offensive line and then get into the tech saying, Alabama game, you look Alabama. They've got some young linebackers that are really fun to watch. You know, Dylan, Moses is a former five-star, Ben Davis a former five-star Mak. Wilson is a former five-star. I love what I saw from Mak Wilson. Late last season can't say, I've watched a ton of Alabama yet this year. But when when I watched Wilson last year, you saw an explosive athlete who looked at his highs, looked like a Reuben foster level prospect. He doesn't see things quite as quickly as foster did, especially late and Foster's career. But this kid's got all the physical traits to be a three down linebacker at the next level and Trayvon Williams, I watched them. Two weeks ago against Clemson, he competes man, he's a, he's a fun to watch. I haven't done a full study on it, but he runs hard. We'll see what he's able to do against this tough, Alabama defensive front. Keep it a move in. What about some of the wide receiver tight ends versus DB's that we should be looking for this week? Yeah, the big, big ten matchup this week is I'll on Wisconsin. Iowa's got an athletic tight end and no offense they've got. They always have a few tight ends. They play a lot of twelve and thirteen personnel. So those guys get a lot of reps fat is not your. Epical Iowa tight end. He's not an inline blocker. He's not a point of attack is not a polished route runner, but he's an explosive kid. He can make plays down the field. He's got some similarities. I think to to an Evan Ingram. I think Ingram was better at this stage is career compared to where fat is, but we know that the NFL covets those kinds of players, those kinds of potential mismatch players. And you know, he's got a pretty good match up to watch this week. I guess what kansin they've got a senior Laden defense as well. And that's safety. Dakota Dixon. A lot of people are really high on I when I watched Dixon, I didn't see necessarily a guy that had pure starting traits in the next level, but he will get some reps against Fanton coverage. I think when you watch the coda Dixon, you know, you see a guy who's really physical. He's got good hands of the catch when he tested very well according to certain reports. So you know, this guy is a little bit under size, but he's a fiery kid. I'd like to see him just see things a little bit faster. That was the big thing. You could be a little bit under size, but you've got to be able to be instinctive because in order to get to the spied into key had great athletic upside. So he's got a play faster if he wants to be like a day to pick at the next level. So that's certainly a match up to watch the KOTA Dixon, Noah fan. And then we'll go to to Louisville and Virginia Louisville, they've got a receiver Jalen Smith, and a lot of people are really high on in the senior class. He's a big kid, obviously was very productive over the last few years with labar Jackson there. I haven't watched the cardinals yet this year, but you know, when you watch Jalen Smith on filled, he's a kid who looks big and big plays big..
