"Semi pro teams. But that's what he had available to him at the time, and he made a career out of it. He was absolutely famous. So I think that while he may not have been on the quality of some of the other candidates we could be looking at, like, if he had been a major Negro league player from the very start. But I think what he did is still very much hall worthy. I think Vic Harris is he missed by two votes. I think he's just kind of an obvious one. The more you look at it because as a manager, he now is the top major league manager outside the Hall of Fame and winning percentage penance playoff appearances and all that. Plus, he was a very good player. So I think that if you look at his stats through Eric shellac ME's, they have him as about a 40 war player. So which is a solid player if you had a very, very good Hall of Fame managerial career on top of that. Tubby scales is another one. He had like a 20 year Negro major league career at second base with a 147 OPS plus. These are really good players that we have outside the hall still. And then home run Johnson played started in the 1890s actually with bud Fowler on the page fence giants, and just had a very long career. I see him as a very similar player to Alan tremel or is a great hitter for shortstop good defender long career, also played some second base later in his career. And cannonball dick reading, I think, was one of the very best pitchers outside of smoky Joe Williams before the Negro national league was founded. So I think they were all tremendous candidates. I think there's still many, many more that haven't been considered yet on this ballot. My favorite four, I keep mentioning or dick lundy, John beckwith, those two, I was shocked to not see on the ballot to be completely honest because they actually have a lot of momentum. Oscar heavy Johnson, though, is another one that I really like. And one was an interesting short career player who started his career playing in the military in Hawaii, but then came over and was an absolutely amazing shortstop for the monarchs for a few years before, unfortunately his career was cut short when he was shot. That's Adobe more. Just a lot of great players, a lot of great stories. So yeah, there will be many, many more interesting ballots to come out of the Negro league candidates as well. And I think we've got a couple dozen Hall of Famers here still. Yeah, and I know rap Dixon gets mentioned a lot. He has a bunch of boosters. I'm sure that we will get into all of them and maybe others next week with 42 for 21. And just looking at even the non Negro leagues players on the early baseball era ballot, there's still some kind of confounding results there like ally Reynolds getting 6 votes and Bill dalin getting fewer than three, which is kind of confounding perplexing incredibly Reynolds has been on the ballot a billion times, right? And he's still getting some level of support, but seemingly he has had his hearing and it's hard to see how he still has significantly more support than that one does if you look at the stats at least. I think that ballot had 9 Hall of Famers. No offense to ally Reynolds, but I think there are non Hall of Famers on there. What would you do about this process, not just opening it up to more candidates and also having more frequent voting, but just mathematically speaking, it's so hard to get anyone elected and you alluded to this earlier, which I really didn't appreciate until Joe pes natsuki pointed it out several times, but you really have to have all the stars aligned or some kind of collusion among the voters. If you actually want to get people elected and I don't know whether that's intentional because they think it's a feature, not a bug, that they don't want too many players to get on from these ballots because they figure if they're on there, maybe they're bordering candidates to begin with or something or whether they just didn't really realize the implication of you only have this many votes to go around. And so it's just really, really hard to get a lot of players in. So it seems like even if you were to say it's every ten years and you have the same number of players on the ballot, there must be some sort of process improvement that you could come up with. Could it not just be a yes, no vote on everyone? I mean, could it not just work the way the ppw a ballot does or more like that where if 75% of people say yes, then it's a Hall of Famer? Yeah, I don't think.

NHL Teams Will Feature Ads on Jerseys Starting in 2022-2023 Season

"Will appear a tad differently next season. We're going to see advertisements on player's jerseys. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said the league generated over $100 million in revenue last season by selling ad space on players helmets. Now the league will allow sponsors to advertise on three inch by 3.5 Inch spaces on NHL jerseys, which teams can begin to negotiate. Sales on the NHL joins the NBA, W NBA and Major League Soccer and using player jerseys has billboards. Advertisers patches on NBA jersey slightly smaller than we will see in the NHL. That's

"About expanding the so called pathway to pro across Major League Soccer. Your thoughts. Isn't that a wrestling league? WWE next? Is it serious, seriously, though? Jamie Vardy and investor with Rochester, they will be in this league. This is now the third D three league in the United States. I've got no problems with more opportunities more jobs for a soccer players, whether that's your 15 years old or your 37 years old, 40 years old. If it's a pathway and you feel you can still make it, more opportunities for you, good on you. I played in third division soccer in the U.S. level. Very unconventional and it's time and I got noticed by the galaxy. So anything that gives these players a different I guess platform or a way of making it to reach their dreams, I'm all for it. More opportunities is the key. More jobs for young American soccer players. That's obviously a benefit here. You do have to ask the questions, how does it impact the U.S. SL? They're going to lose 8 of those MLS two teams effectively. So that could impact them. The one team that you did mention, Jamie Vardy's Rochester rhinos, they're going to be the one independent team in year one of the 21. All right, that'll do it for this edition of football America. Soccer Players Might Have More Emotional Outbursts With Audiences

"Players have had to adjust to matches without fans during this pandemic. But what impact does that have on how they play? NPR's Casey? Morale reports? Soccer matches have sounded a little quieter during the pandemic. Take this Major league soccer game from August. Orlando City midfielder Nani Moves toward goal shoots six beautifully Any scores. And while there's cheering, it's all from players. What's missing is the roar of the crowd. Meg Linnehan of the athletic attended a few of these so called ghost games in the National Women's Soccer League and says gameplay just felt different without the influence of fans when players air fighting for 50 50 ball right along the sidelines, and there's just usually there would be people right there. Yelling and trying to influence the outcome of that event. And instead, it's just kind of these two players really in their own little world and teammates yelling at them now to sports buffs who happened to be neuroscientists have taken a deeper look at whether empty stadiums influence players behaviors on the field. It was a good excuse to watch soccer and to reproach. The matches from the weekends. Michael Lightner and his colleague Fabio Richland of the University of Salzburg in Austria Rewatched 20 matches from their local team. Red Bull, Salzburg. 10 from before the pandemic, with fans and 10 from ghost games without them as they watched the catalog players, emotional behaviors, things like whether a player yelled at the ref after a call or shook his head after missing a big chance. Overall, they observed significantly fewer emotional outbursts during ghost games. Richland has a theory why the fence like an amplifier in certain situations. If there's a foul or something going on, and 20 or 30,000 people screaming, then, for sure you jump up and yell at your opponent, and you probably do this less or a little bit less if there are no fence there. In fact, the emotional outburst that did take place in Ghost games tended to be less confrontational than in games with fans in attendance. The scientists also think home field advantage could be smaller. Without those screaming fans. Here's Lightner. There seems to be something making the way teams perform significantly better without the home fence. They'll tackle that question. Next. The current work appears in the journal Humanities and Social Sciences Communications. And while they know their study just looked at one team in one league, both Lightner and Richland say they wouldn't be surprised if the same was seen in other soccer leagues around the world. Sports Strike Against Racism

"This summer athletes have taken the lead by using their platforms to stand up against police brutality. The WNBA, has consistently protested throughout the year with numerous players even sitting the season out and on August twenty, six, twenty, twenty, four years after Colin Kaepernick began his anthem protests something historic happened athletes across the board streit and refuse to play today we're discussing reactions to this incredible moment in sports. This is the not. On August Twenty Third Jacob Blake was shot seven times in the back by police in Kenosha Wisconsin where we're calling this episode on. August twenty seven twenty twenty the day after the Milwaukee Bucks and players from the NBA WNBA NFL. Major League Baseball Major League soccer and tennis champion Naomi Osaka all refused to play or practice in an unprecedented strike in response to the shooting of Jacob Blake the NBA postponed the playoffs for two days. The first time that games have been postponed in this manner since Bill Russell led a strike in one, thousand, nine, hundred, sixty, one after a day of deliberation players in the. NBA. Playoff Games pending further action. You're excited I. Know You're excited for sports to return obviously, this season has been one of a kind and unprecedented in. So many ways I want to know how do you feel now the players are using their platform in this way to be honest I feel this very strange sense of excitement. I need some really tragic kind of set of circumstances but I have been feeling conflicted after NBA Games kind. Came back I had been motivated by occurrences like kyrie irving standing in solidarity with Wnba players saying like Oh actually, I'll pay your salary. If you don't feel like you can play whether it's you know a reaction to corona virus or your desire to protest how support seeing. Lebron Kinda start almost every post game interview with a demand to arrest the cops that killed Brianna. Taylor. That made me really happy Siamese. Floor of the same energy that we have tours. Justice for Briana told, even seeing black lives matter on jerseys and in the court kind of made me feel a little better. I realized yesterday that this was the inspiration really been waiting for but now I'm wondering what comes next of course, how were you reacting to everything? You know I'm not like the world's biggest sports fan I do. I am a fan of black women and so seeing the WNBA protests. Throughout this year, but especially, the summer that felt released significant. Still I've always hesitant to look to athletes during these like highly political moments just because it's not the job that they set out to do. But you know as I started to see people sharing statements aerial Atkins from the Washington mystics we're going to say, well, we need to say and people need to hear that. They don't support us I'm fine with that. At the end of the day I'm GonNa make them good anywhere that I have to it basketball. It's not. Just what it is Chris Weber's telecast if not now when Not doing a pandemic. and. Countless lives being lost if not now when that is me in tears so lucid in that moment and so real and also just seeing how so many other sports leagues join them in protests were. Teased. Happen I mean it just shows. The hate people's heart. The thing is though is that as we were starting to develop this episode today so much has changed already in that the players in the NBA have agreed to return to playing the playoff season. Later, this week I don't think that all the progress is gone but I'm wondering what what happens. Now you know thought that same whiplash like I said, I felt like this was finally the type of inspiration leadership that I've been hoping to see from such a wide body players. Leaks, cross-border. It was truly abused beautiful, and I think now we need to do more I'm hoping that that since this is now on the table, players can put more pressure on owners to. Work with the people they are most connected to some of the richest and most powerful people in this nation are in the speed dial of most NBA owners even just the day if feels effective part of I, think resuming the season was the players putting pressure on the NBA to address the social unrest we've been dealing with all summer in some ways. So they started a foundation that's dedicated to investing in black causes. They're giving hundreds of millions of dollars they've given like you know the players, some approved protest phrases that they can use. They can put black lives matter on the courts and things like that and what I liked about this moment is at the NBA players were like that's what I usually do. And that's actually still not enough. So I'm hoping that we can see continued forward motion in that way something that I enjoy in this moment was seeing the NBA take the WNBA's league they have been holding it down all your curves pressing in. So many ways the thing is, is that WNBA, players, they don't make as much money as NBA players do they have really put their necks out there for social justice speaking up. Protecting black lives in many ways, it seems in some ways that they have more to lose by doing it. You know I am maybe two degrees below cautiously optimistic. That is a lot better than cynical, which is where I was before.

Forty Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick first to Caen in response to police violence against black people me ultimately is to bring awareness and make people know realize what's really going on in this country. "All of you. It is another beautiful morning in the Puget Sound region. Thank you so much for joining us on the GM Ursula's show today. I'm going to admit something right now. This feels very different today. Because for the first time our studio is relatively crowded. There are three of us in here and one of us is not. She is off today. And it is Mike Lewis, who is co piloting with me. Good morning, Mike. Good morning. So this is the first time for us. This is the first time for us. He actually was looking forward to it when you told me I don't only there to go. I know me too. I love our conversations off the air. So we're going to have a chance to do that this morning, and we do have a ton to talk about, and we're going to start right out right now, With the top five stories that I think everyone needs to hear today. And we're going to start with what is something that is very different. It's never happened before. Pro athletes in a bunch of different sports are refusing to play right now in a show of protest over the deadly police shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It began with the N B A. And the Milwaukee Bucks refusing to come out for last night's playoff game against Orlando. We're calling for justice for Jacob place and demand officers be held accountable. There was then a domino effect. Mike it affected the WN Ba Major League soccer professional tennis than several major league baseball teams postpone their games, including the Seattle Mariners. And now Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says he believes NFL players might also be sitting out games to protest racial injustice. Anything's possible I mentioned to the players. This is the year of the protest season season of protest, so we'll we'll handle ourselves as we do. But this is a protest that doesn't have an end to until until all the problems go away. Okay, So do you think this is an effective way to protest? Yeah, not only think it's an effective way to protest. I think it's an important thing for the players to be doing. I mean, here's here's a simple fact. If you if you are on if you're in MBA athlete If you're an MBA coach, If you're on N ba staff, you work with more African Americans than anyone else from a percentage wise than anyone else in the United States. Simple I mean, if you look at the numbers of athletes and the type of athletes, the racial background of athletes In professional sports. You're dealing with a group of people who are actually should be. I would assume acutely sensitive to these issues. You know, I think that it's a fair in this particular place to to at least acknowledge, if not follow their lead. But let's go back to what happened with Colin Kaepernick, and you know, he, he protested and then remember the reaction to that. Do you think there's going to be a different reaction? Would this have happened if we weren't in a pandemic? Well, he was He was a bit isolated, right? Although I would I would say if you want to actually remember history he did than taking any on the advice of a Navy seal. So let's just let's put that one aside. No, I I don't think he's isolated anymore. I mean, other athletes were worried at that time. Remember, it's also the NFL nonguaranteed contracts that actually did affect people's willingness to do this. Now that you're seeing it across the board, and you're seeing a buy in at the uppermost levels, the commissioners of these sports I don't know. I think it's here to stay. I think it's a good thing. But in all honesty right now sports pro sports at any level of sports at this juncture. That's not my top priority, not mine, either. So I feel like it doesn't have the same kind of impact. Now. My husband might disagree. Because you know this. Everything is going to affect what happens this fall. But right now, it feels like it's not as much of an impact. But here's another question for you because there are people who say I want my sports to be for my entertainment. We shouldn't be mixing politics with sports I personally won. I love my sports mixed with politics doesn't bother me at all. Secondarily, I don't think it's their obligation to distract us. I think that they would. I think they'd rather not be a distraction. I mean, if they're get if they have this pulpit, why not use it? And if you don't like it, then you don't have to watch, I guess, but but for me, I love it when somebody is willing to risk something in from their career. To stand up for what they believe in. And the funny thing is, we actually acknowledge that and don't mind it in many other aspect right now, that says a lot about us as much about us as it does about the athletes. Yeah, I think you're absolutely right now. If This were to continue. Do you think in the long term this is goingto have an impact on the popularity of the sports or these particular figures? I think it's going to reflect that. The that the way of the great one right now is NASCAR. NASCAR is going to have a black life announced it's going to have a black lives matter Race and ask the Grand Marshall to be former President Barack Obama. Did you think that was gonna happen with NASCAR in your lifetime? No. There you go. That's the world's changed. Yes, absolutely way, are getting new details this morning about the 17 year old who has been arrested in connection with the killing of Two people during protests in Kenosha. Kyle Rittenhouse is his name. He is apparently an avid pro police pro trump white teenager who was seen on video opening fire in the middle of the street with a semi automatic rifle before the shooting the conservative website The Daily caller, actually did a video interview with him in front of a boarded up business you do out here? Obviously, you're armed and you're in front of this business.

"The NBA's Milwaukee Bucks. The team with the best record in the League decided not to take the floor for game five of their playoff series against Orlando. The players made the decision to call for change following the police shooting of Jacob Lake in Kenosha Wisconsin the later postponed that game as. Well as to whether that were set to take place. The cause was later taken up by the WNBA several baseball teams, several major league soccer teams, and tennis player Naomi Osaka former. NBA Player Chris Webber gave emotional analysis of the Milwaukee players decision last night delivering a powerful message on what would have been the live telecast of the game we understand is not gonna end but that does not mean young men that you don't do anything. Don't listen to these people telling you don't do anything because it's not going to end right away. You were starting something for the next generation and the next generation to take over you have to be smart. Yes. Do you have to make sure that you have a plan. Yes. Do you have to be articulate about that plan? Yes. All of those things but that's what you're going to do. They're professionals they know how to be the best of themselves. And so I applaud it I applaud it because it is the young people is the young people leading the way. And I applaud. NBA Players, association held a meeting last night about whether to continue to play this season multiple reports say the La Lakers clippers voted against finishing the postseason home. "So obviously I see the reports of doomsday media and some of the people that think that way and with my life in the south for so many years, I hear people constantly yelling at me about the testing rates being fraudulent or the death rates are lower and that we're all making a big deal out of a very small thing. So I guess my question to you is when you talk to coaches and commissioners, are they actually looking at the data through any lens of conspiracy theory or any lens of different thought? No, They're looking at it through the lens of their medical experts on those task forces and their individual campuses as well. I mean, don't forget you've got schools like Rutgers that are trying to come up with their own corona virus. A school's like Like Stanford. I mean, we're talking about higher education University president that are scared of liability issues and trying to figure that out. So they are basing their decisions on the medical advice from their health experts not only on those task forces but also within Their campus communities and guys don't forget they are absolutely paying attention to the NBA bubble. What's going on in the NFL and Major League Soccer? I mean last month, maybe they had a conference call with Roger Goodell and NFL officials. They are learning from the professional sports as well. It's all going to be a lot to keep an eye on for everyone leading up to all this is we start the eye and hear more and more about the spring season. I know you and Mark slave all wrote a piece on that in dot com. I don't know which one of you came up with the old Miss Mississippi State East Direct Bull line. I'm going to give credit to you on that one. Heather was enlightened and we're going to try and go forward. Hopefully with good ideas like that in mind. Thanks. Thanks, guys. And I love having Heather on because, as a college football reporter, you're you're getting a sense of the people, the actual thoughts of the people that are making these decisions. That's why I think it's important to continually follow Heather and read Heather right now because This isn't about you know a 1,000,000 different opinions. This is about where smart people are making decisions. The information they're basing their decisions on and how those decisions. Can you imagine that answer from a head coach of the football team. We may not have any Actual team practice. And going to the first game, and it's for Navy against Notre Dame. It doesn't matter who it is. If you're not actually getting together and practicing advantage, Notre Dame you know how hard it's going to be to run the triple option without practices of team. Weird man. Let's give it a good game for the Irish. Can you stop the Triple action option without practicing? We'll triple option is such a timing thing and so much practice into it, man. Let's just keep saying way to adjust the line on that one. Probably all right, coming up next year's free agent running backs. That class is stacked the draft class also stacked..

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey says “critical decisions” will be made later this month

"Has been a much anticipated day. When it became known that the SEC was going to meet in person, in Birmingham, today it had been a regular scheduled meeting, but regardless it was extraordinary. It is now over the SEC has just released. A statement! Saying that no decisions were made today about the upcoming college football season. We hope to get more on that from the Commissioner of the southeastern. Conference Greg Sankey, commissioner? Thank you very much. I know it has been. A Very Long. Day Good afternoon. Has Been that and right from a meeting to the Finebaum show what could be a better way to cap a busy busy Monday. Well I, we've all we've I've I've read your statement about Hoping to gain more information or Waiting at least. To the end of the month and I'm curious based on what you have been saying. In terms of the prospects of the season and the concerns and the fact that things. You said the other day you, you're running out of time to correct things What are you looking for? And what are you? What is your conference looking for over these next two to three weeks? That will help you. Identify the proper decision to move forward. There are any number of. Opportunities to learn which is the way we've always viewed What was it play out, so we'll go back to April. One of the guiding points and I think I've shared with you this. This comment from one of our faculty members is take as long as you can to make major decisions because you will have better information. so my comments last week over the weekend on Mardian McGee or an indication that the trends. Are Not what we desired not what we had experienced a bit earlier in the summer very much in the wrong direction, and that that's problematic. That doesn't mean that's the finish line. Things will never change. We've seen the news around cove in nineteen. alter itself in different ways over a number of weeks. And so what we've identified, it is an opportunity in late July. foreign important check in the see what our public health reality, so that's one big picture element. We were told from the beginning. Take as much time as possible. You make better decisions we've also. Experienced since June eighth the ability to support our student athletes and a very healthy way, within our athletics, programs or other activities that are permitted today, more that could come for most program beginning, July twenty fourth, which NCAA is permitted third point, the autonomy, five conferences have been working diligently now for weeks and months to develop a common testing expectation. Expectation an isolation expectation. The NCAA after the Senate Commerce Committee hearing in which I participated in Washington DC has been engaging in developing similar standards for its entire membership, but his worked collaboratively over the last eight or nine days I think we're moving towards a destination for those protocols and I know that we as five conferences have been working diligently our. Our colleague conferences at the bowl subdivision. Or awaiting those other others in Division One are also waiting those expectations. The fourth is all it's happening. In the return of sports at the professional level over the next few weeks, so we saw major league soccer I watch more major league soccer last night than I. Ever have in my life, but I've read their protocols. Major League Baseball's active. That's A. First Pitch I think July twenty third where teams are going to be moving around. We've read their health protocols. A NASCAR race Wednesday, that is in a what was a football stadium several years ago in Bristol Tennessee with thirty thousand fans in attendance first time to see a larger crowd if that opportunity still exists so all of those are important learning opportunities, but the fundamental is my first point, which is we have to see? See a change in public health trend to build the comfort that will have an opportunity to compete this fall and plenty of people can say Oh, you shouldn't. It's not going to happen. Make predictions, and they go back to Governor Cuomo in June. WHO said I'm done with predictions. I'm done with models. We're GONNA. Look at the facts, and that's what we've been doing diligently for months now and we'll do over the next few weeks. Commissioner Greg Sankey with this commissioner. Last week we saw a one of your colleagues in the big ten. make his decision their decision about. Playing Only Conference Games to the PAC twelve followed suit I'm certain. That was discussed today, can you? Can you enlighten us on where the SEC is on all conference play? we are not at that destination in a number of our colleague. Conferences are not at that destination, so the big ten made its decision. We have no. common games with the big ten conference this year. Just one of those realities in our schedule, so the the impact of their decision is indirect,

"Ml last Major league soccer southward boards, Sports is making a return, and they have a list that they've just released. Of the things that NFL players or forbidden from doing during the 2020 season and I have to tell you it seems kind of stupid, alright or seems a little like stoop like excessive, stupid or just illogical, Just illogical isn't dealing with it is illogical to the point where, like NFL players may not spit into the mouth of another NFL player, we'll follow here. They say dealing with the Corona virus pandemic will likely become a way of life. This Is in for the National Football League, as well as many years to come. Things we have become accustomed to seeing in previous years will no longer be something fans could look forward to. Aside from that. There are a number of things that players will have to adjust to a CZ. Well, the league outlined on Thursday of this week, the things that players are forbidden from doing Teams are forbidden from postgame interactions within six feet of one another. What? They just played a football game where they tackled each other. And after the game, you like, Well, well, well. Oh, game's over. Now. The Corona virus understands when the game is being played and not being played. It respects the game. It's like a lo stop right here. We're stopping the stadium. But the moment the game is over. Corona virus right back in there trying to get these players after the game. You can't come within six feet of the other players know Jersey exchanges. What women players a thing before. I didn't know about this, but I guess If you're playing that some other team, you might have a friend on the team or something, and you'll give him your jersey and they'll give you their jersey And they like collecting or something. I don't know. You can also, you know, donated to charities of your choice. Really? That's great anymore. Yeah. Now they're saying no Jersey exchanges between player master you charities. The media is not allowed in the locker room, which may avoid some of these dogs in the background videos that we've seen. Yeah, there's going to be no locker room videos, I guess. Teams must travel to the stadium via bus. And on field fans. Seating is not allowed. A bunch of the players started to mock the idea in particular that you could play football. You could tackle somebody you could get up in their faces. You could sack the quarterback. But then the moment the whistle blows in the game is over. It's like well what? Whoa! Six feet apart. Everybody watching six feet apart. I don't. I don't think people understand how hard it is going to be at some point to keep these teams going, because if if you have any kind of breaks In this bubble. If you have any leaks whatsoever, and one or two players brings it in. You're gonna have whole teams that air dropping out. You're gonna have this like spreading in the locker room. Where did you see what happened with MLS? What? That There's one thing that's not playing Nashville's team. They travel they got into the bubble. And nine of the players tested positive. So they're now officially out of the tournament and headed back to home for quarantine. Yeah, that West did they? What did they already where they're, like, just kind of easing into the bubble, and they were doing the first tests, and that's when they booted him out. Or they were. They had tested clean. And then they got no, no, no, they they think traveled here with it. You know they were going to enter the bubble. Like now, Euler positives get out of here. The second team to do it to. Ah. FC Dallas was also withdrawn from the MLS is back tournament due to a number of positive city. We've got a chance like 12 people on the team get it's spreading. So all the other people in the team and then even what sucks is I bet? I don't know. But I bet that most of the players on the national team have zero symptoms. They don't feel bad at all there, like damn it. Now we can't even play and we're not a lot of participate in this. That's gonna be tough. You gotta keep all this up for all these sports where these players air travelling from place to place. Where they're going to different cities, Sometimes at the NFL in particular, I don't think they're doing as much of a bubble thing as the MBA with the MBA. Once you get everybody in, everybody's tested. If you're really careful, you Khun truly create a bubble in wide world of sports in Orlando is a perfect place to do that. But all it takes is one or two people to pomp that bubble. And spreads around this team. This team drops out and then it becomes a cluster eff and just an absolute mess. It'll be interesting to watch. All right. I love this story. And I think that you will, too. In fact, I think it's the greatest story in the world. Do those greater story of the world. This is fantastic. We just talked the other day about Hussein Bolt because Was his adorable daughter has the greatest name in the world. She's Yeah. Olympia Lightning bolts, Which good luck. You better be cool with the name that cool But Usain Bolt's your father, So you're probably in good shape there. He's one of the nicest guys in all of sports, and he's also fast as hell and he has held the 200 meter record. For quite some time. Until now. That is because a sprinter by the name of Noah Lyle's not only broke Hussein bolts 200 meter record. Smashed Hussein Bolts 200 meter record father had making him soft but There is a problem. And let me play this for you. This was the race underway with the commentators saying about how everybody was doing their.

Get on it was and then just the kind of really hit home. You know because we do see only these athlete. Sometimes you know the you're like these guys are making millions beyond millions of dollars on all of a sudden declare bankruptcy or you know I think from a good background good upbringing. My father then going to Boston College studying at the business school their girl school management on just opened my eyes up and give me a different perspective on this financial literacy that feel like a lot of athletes. Kinda lack when I turned pro. They're giving all these contracts and money like it's like didn't know what to do with it so for me it was. I think I really really started getting into how GonNa Approach next chapter of my life and Career comes to an end because socrates last that. Long you know when my son was first born in France and then I started really are at least when I got knowledge that I was going to have a signed. Be a father's like okay. I got to prepare for the next phase right. I gotTa make sure that he's GonNa be well off than I provide them with good good support system and you know you kind of think about providing the next generation with even a better life that you lived. I feel like I started really really looking into it. Taking a deeper dive and making better use of my time to learn about things and become more knowledgeable about certain things and a lot of these things turned into hobbies passion projects. And that's the next part of it. When you become you know when it becomes fun and you're getting something out of it providing something as well. It's making a difference in Oakland. All be of be setting myself up for a smooth transition through my career is over on you know be kosher to my businesses and things that I've got going on for folio and you know provide my kids in my family with the the Nice Good living from real estate to coffee enterprises you you really are pushing that boundary. Athle- Represents the other part that I enjoy about you. I mean and I know you also personally. Is that your who constantly pushes the message when it comes to community and social activism and you know the the meaning of what it means to be united both as a society not just a you know a as a sports fan how are you seeing your own neighborhoods in Philadelphia right now coming together during the pandemic. Are you seeing examples of that? Is there anything that you are doing yourself? Perhaps when it comes to spreading the message of unity during the pandemic for me personally I think we've all seen how much the restaurant business as struggle than you know is a guy like you said. Who's got a goal of opening up a family coffee shop business down in south Florida. You know. We love to eat out and trial. The new restaurants Garesh on a lot of them have starting Whether it's like go fund me fund raising program. You know that they're trying to start up to stay open and and pay their workers and and you know I'm not sure how many of them are going to survive after this is all said and done but I've just tried to give back to those restaurants that I love that. We go often that we go to just have a coffee and catch up or laying. God I've made a lot of ro relationships with the local restaurants so that's something from a person that I've been doing lying around here. Even you know one of my favorite restaurants Christina going into their wine cellar and just kind of buying a bunch of bottles of wine that I cannot help to support. Maybe a week's pay or something. You know whatever little thing I can help you have not seen. The Community Phillies also I love the spirit here personality and character I think You know that's that's about living in city you know I think obviously that much closer together new you feel that sense of prying of of your city. Yeah absolutely also posted about the bluebirds. We saw that here in New York City as well just a you know all these things that are trying to be happening to connect. Let's talk about soccer for a little bit about your career I of you know. What are your thoughts on? What's going on right now. And and are you hopeful. Action Returning What do you think Ab- about the season specifically as its gone through covered ninety? Yeah I mean the main thing is just you know near your health and you it takes precedence over anything world still trying to figure out even the medical experts trying figure out the. Are we safe? When are we safe to come back? When when should we come back you know? Some sense of normalcy. Sports are no different right. I think sports may be probably one of the top five industry sectors that have been. Hey from this pandemic saw thing like I said it's health president so I think I just WanNa make sure that when we do return will be saved till you know that will be able to get tested. You know so that even if we go playing some area that however long we stayed here that when we come back like that nobody has passed it on or giving it to somebody else that they returning give to their family members. And then you'll get a second wave so to speak But I think everybody just has to be cautious but I think at the same time we have to. We should be optimistic about trying to return to play right. I want to get back to the feel like a Mike working out in this gym. Downstairs in doing cross stuff is orange compared Kicking ball you know so whether it is with without whether we return without fans is what is right. I think fans will still be happy to be able to watch games on TV. You know I think a lot of people in this country were a little bit excited just seeing the NFL draft. Some sense of sports are back type thing. We still got some time to get in most of our season you know think. Mls from that standpoint is in a good position to to salvage the season. Y'All to still continue to play so I can send that Keeps US optimistic? I guess it keeps our gives us our our our mental. Stay something to root for on to hope for and Yeah I just can't wait to get back out there but like I said I think shut out to the frontline workers all the people that are working on delivery and restaurants still take away all that they're putting their lives at risk you know. Predator them you've played in the UK you've played in France In our as we're speaking the recent news of are now Terminated for the season appears g given the champion. Two teams at the bottom for allegation. What are you thoughts in regards to? The League is and how it awarded the title to g Obviously different situations different scenarios. You know seen as you played their H- how do you think that was taken while? Sure there's GonNa be a lot of what they say money. That's shown there in in France and other like the protest The clubs are getting their their letters out on but yet interesting. I haven't really followed it to closing bipolar. I know from my friends in for teams that are still there apparently in the French. Fa or something. There there have been a pause or some type of written In written form that if the season were to come to a halt or something like that for whatever reasons that That based on your standings at that's how it would be finished so that's a little bit different. I think than other leagues in Europe from my understanding from the people that I know in France as they were saying so there is some language that they're they they were okay to go forward this but of course that's GonNa Having. I'm sure that I don't know too. Many people are complaining about the winning again because they were the front runners again in the league by while similar to. I don't think anybody's GonNa Complain if they just gave it to Liverpool But that I think the where it holds a lot more weight is those relegation battles those teams because they're going to have a bigger say you know it's not fair to them? They're so so and so number of games left. How can you even just determined? You know we deserve to go down. It socks men for those of you not think but. I'm one and feel like yeah. You know there's a reason why you put this season together and you Every game is important. And that's why it matters where you end up in a table but on the other side is like. Oh it's not fair right like it seem doesn't seem fair like the Games are meant to be played determined where you finish another topic. That's incredibly relevant. Right now is mental health and as much as we talk about players on training regimes. There's also the need to discuss. How athletes are dealing with their own mental state of mind. You Talk to teammates as you mentioned current and former regularly. I'm sure. How important is it to you? Do you think that athletes receive enough support in regards to mental health? Yea think it's very important thing now you know now that it's not being stigmatized much. I think it's important for for players. Feel confident that we all have issues right where humans. There's mental part of the game demento partly in off the field or you have to take care of yourself as well so feel free to reach out for players in you know coaching staff or front office to also pay attention to you. Know Being at home corentin isolated. You know you can suffer from depression anxiety not being able to schedule and a routine on what to do if people you know you can lose your mind..

"And I just get to enjoy the NUTMEG. Add a little colored. Have you have you done a few not make yourself already or being a victim of run I was? I like a good nutmeg My two dogs are fifteen twelve. They're fairly easy to nutmeg. But I've got a little back going on with my two and a half year old daughter that if she can nutmeg me then you know maybe. I'll watch frozen to for the seventh million times this month. I like that even though you might not. That's great to me. It's also important to think about the game in the US from a local community perspective. Super Hyper local especially minority communities do you think your campaign And others can help out and reach these specific because I really believe that the voice of the black and brown soccer audience in the US also needed at this moment. Yeah absolutely absolutely I. I think the one thing that is unique about this is that it does. It comes in all colors shapes and sizes. It doesn't matter Louise Whether you're black brown white doesn't matter where you are what you're doing You're helping you're giving back and obviously you and I both agree that soccer's a game for the people and it's for the people that are the heart and soul of their communities. So I do think this reaches those communities that you talk about but I think it reaches every community because if not everyone say ninety five ninety. Six percent of everyone is practicing social distancing. They want to do something creative. They WANNA give back to their community so why not give back to the community by Nutmeg in your pig or horse or whatever you're doing or your mom I just I feel for a lot of people louise to end that part of what. You're asking me for the people that have to do this. You know small apartments in those kids and you just feel. It's a difficult time for those people trying to find it and that's why this is kind of creative so I I do think it reaches everyone. Yeah and the power of social media of course agreed. The boundaries are endless. Let's talk about the League itself. Taylor how do you think Don garber and Co helping handling the outbreak and the current state of no-action? Obviously it's not easy on anyone but how do you think the League has been handling it? I think they've been good. Louise I mean. Listen they've been proactive about it. They were out in front of it. you know and obviously those are difficult decisions with Miami on the verge of having their home opener against the La Galaxy on national television. You obviously had to wait it out but they made the right decision. I think they've been very proactive. I think they've been very transparent I think it's interesting in our country. That Adam silver gets a ton of credit in yet. They played games during a time when probably they shouldn't have play games where you know. Mls didn't now mls had the luxury right. So with all due respect to Adam silver. I did it because you're at the end of the year trying to go in the playoffs. Mls You just kicked off your season so time was on your side making those decisions. You've got to be progressive. You've got to understand that this is the first. There's no rule book on this. This is unprecedented. So you're GONNA make mistakes. Some people are GonNa make mistakes and you move on and you just try to fix them but as a whole I think. Mls has been fairly good on this. Yeah I think I have to agree. I mean you mentioned Inter Miami and literally. The bowl was about to be kicked off before everything started as part of. Inter Miami also expansion teams. You know my question I guess is. Is there any club organization within the League? You think has Has surprised you or made something that interested you during the break. That's a good question Since you and I are taping this on May I. I'll say you know whore. Hey Maassen is family of opening up their new stadium To become a food drive was very impressive. But everyone's trying to give back And there's also some difficult times we've seen some of the clubs have to furlough on Game Day. Employees are what whatever may be alone some employees. So it's a difficult time but if you can do anything to give back in time of need you're doing that a lot of clubs are giving back. I agree Larussa very very good guy. I've interviewed him as well. He's Great Taylor you're you're on. Espn personality doing multiple things. But let's start with the booth. You're a commentator analyst with your partner in Crime John Champion of Allie Wagner a few weeks ago and her work in Fox. Same to you. Do you miss the booth right now. Just the feeling of commentating a game. He but I Miss Sports. I mean Louis Truth be told I just I want something. I Love Sports. There's something about sports now. We know why sports is so expensive for television rights. It's unpredictable a it's it's it's literally right there to be had and you have no idea that's why that famous saying that's why you play the Games because anything could happen that day in so when you're at the stadium you're into booth your with your colleagues you're trying to put on this show that the fans enjoy that the players are proud of all that stuff coming together. I missed sits. I don't Miss Jones champion that much but yes I miss it. All kidding aside for the listeners tongue-in-cheek John and I are friends. I do miss it but you gotta remember. I do about two hundred some odd days on the road this year with the European Championships in being all over Western Europe I was GonNa do almost two hundred and twenty days on the road so it's been a little bit of an every day shake up for me just in the sense. I'm usually preparing something every three days now. I do multiple things for ESPN now not just soccer. So that's continued for me but it's obviously out of my home studio here in Boston but long story short. That's been a little bit of a change right. Three days preparing watching games. Doing something will now here. We are almost forty six forty seven days where. I haven't left the house. You really in Boston and has that been I was I mean. How has it been you with your family a little bit more? Yeah honestly it's been a gift from me Louis because two hundred and some odd days I I've got a two month old So it's been a blessing in disguise in a weird one. I hate saying it that way but I'm getting time with my two kids that I would have never gotten. It's been a good time for us here in the family but if I could show you a picture of my two kids two days ago the look on my oldest daughter's face is basically data are us. Aren't you supposed to leave the house now? I think my kids are like yeah. It's a house. Let's get them out of the House for a few days and then we can. Just Sal all Kinda come together. Just don't not make your if she likes me. I'm Intro Hill. Let's end with banter. It's a great show banter with Taylor. How do you like doing? It is now as you mentioned. You're doing it from home as it helps the soccer community. Stay connected much like your captain. Morgan campaign is really just uniting people. Together I mean you have so many people there my friend. Colton Norio see regularly. How is it with you? It's been good Lewis. It's unfortunate But I'm no different than everyone else. But we launched it Espn just built a five million dollar studio for new shows and digital shows and they wanted eight. They've asked me for a couple of years and I finally said you know what? Now the timing's right. You get the new studio. It's about the April fifteenth and boom right so now you're doing offers zoom. You're doing it off your computer your fun. Everyone else is doing the same thing. I'm no different so there. There's a little part of me that is like That's a bummer. But our last show before everything was shut down losers an appetite. We did over a million views for one show on facebook. Not a big deal. Yeah but but Louisa tells me. There's an appetite for soccer at the American level of American emphasis. No matter if it's USSL women men's national team Yanks abroad and major league soccer. It just makes me wonder you know I love doing it but more so it's open some is internally at. Espn you know. How do we evolve his change? My goal is to give everyone in the soccer community of voice in a place to talk about it and that doesn't matter where your affiliation is and I think that's the most important thing and We'll see where it goes but right now you know early. May were still doing it. So that's got to be a positive. Yeah well the fastest growing sports fan in the US is the diverse soccer fan. And you're doing a really good job with banter tailored twelve and ESPN. Thank you so much for joining us. Thanks for having me my mouth. The.

"Yeah I started thinking and in the break there apparently so my correct me if I'm wrong do we already have a Major League Soccer take because people talk about their playing and the sun state even that what I'm hearing well what's the name of the soccer team I'm that I've never heard of and I live in I'm making fun I'm just saying if this was such a B. F. being how come I don't know I know I'm not a huge soccer family seven to sing something about everything or are they just doing roving soccer things than other teams are coming into play this sort of Gen up the interest I mean I'm I'm just I'm not trying to be facetious I don't know I mean somebody said they gonna be playing and Nissan stadium here before too long and I'm going whoa whose day so national soccer club is the name of the team that's the name of the team okay what I don't know how these things are normally name because like in Europe you know they do have kind of strange you know like I don't know I can't tell you a bit you know like the Birmingham whatever the it's not like football I guess we have a you're the Tennessee Titans or the Minnesota Vikings or stuff like that I just had the national social club by the suction is soccer club yeah Stocker that's they don't set just J. generates excite I'm just really yeah I ness I can't wait to go to sleep the night is real welcome it does sound like going to be seeing some polo ponies other doesn't yes you do and this ugly one and then marine Europe next Marie what's up hi yeah and I love your show first of all yes the Nissan stadium once a year soccer players different teams in command and eight new filter ATM I agree on a lot of things you're saying one I do agree that dining room in the in ground definitely have the money they yeah approximately two hundred seventy five million dollars a year and a younger male they definitely have out there I definitely agree that they should be putting up a lot more but that kind of how it rolls with fail not the Democrat the whole thing went down the is get other people to put the money out that a lot of years of them feeling now you know they call the OPM other people's money and sounds a lot like opium doesn't yeah they are they definitely do that I'm not gonna play now I know I I do know but the youth soccer industry I do believe that if it does come here I believe it can be at the content soccer in Raleigh at it now it is growing faster really that any more and when I mean at the last year come to cnet com eighty and people from all over happy and there is not at the last I would love to see really have I mean we joking but I would love to see it's successful I just don't want to see the taxpayers on the hook for yeah I believe it can be for example like I say around the school I have children that play pretty high level or I see the in the shop all the top or shot I mean they fell out of everything especially when the team come here on eighty and they're definitely money to be made in there yet there's a lot of excitement a lot more than now are either going by I do believe they need to put up a lot more of their money they have it they bury worth billions of dollars they definitely have it and I really do believe they need to put up more of their money calling all I'm preaching the remote you know San Jose's got one call the earthquakes what can we get a name like man I like then you'll remember we were trying they would be going to name the rename the Oilers and we were pushing for thunder and we had that song always at AC these thing yep under stress yeah I love them and they can be planned and you know so maybe we get them to change your name getting funds under yeah I like it and then maybe I'll get behind quick I'm not I'm just tell me I'm not against it I understand it's like it's like hockey you know I mean the people that will fill you all excited by the predators I really don't care but I but I understand people do and say and I understand a big deal I mean the predators in the Stanley Cup Finals and all that stuff in downtown's pack that I thought was wonderful I'm just not a fan but I mean don't hate me for it I mean that I'm not a fan of baseball either but me I'm a basketball football guy big big basically is what I am but if if if a basketball team were coming everything the same thing I don't see pro basketball rate the city for a stadium so if this deal is well we don't know exactly the deal is but it is long as the taxpayers are not exposed then I'm okay with I just I wish to get a name like earthquakes the two thousand former justice department officials who served under both Republican and democratic administrations are calling an Attorney General William Barr to resign over his handling of the case involving a trump adviser correspondent Shimon pro capacitor is a lot of concern inside the legal community as to what the Attorney General has been doing and the key thing in all of this is the integrity of the system and a lot of them are very concerned that that is now lost Democrats in the race for the White House are campaigning in Nevada this week "But if you're asking me what you are. I'm looking at Robbie Keane. I still think Robbie Keane is the best designated player internationally that we've seen in history bring his studio. Get a little bit more perspective on g-o-v Inca. Mattel wonder what the reaction was in Italy to his time here because here he was certainly a super. Yeah. He wasn't superstar. And it was perfect for analyst. Right because he's the kind of player that I think even the casual fan can appreciate and start love even more. So than the Beckham just because of his playing style, right? He's so easy to love his this diminutive incredible dribbler scoring spectacular goals. And to think that he went from a situation in Italy where he was a backup at a good event decide he was very good for mid-table teams. But couldn't crack into the top four in Italy. And he comes here he gets to six times as wage any becomes a folklore legend of the league. I thought he made the perfect career move. And also the financial move. He was called just in recently into the Italian national team. I mean now now the move to Saudi Arabia no future there. I don't think he has a future there. There's very good young that Italy now has the focus on for the next World Cup for change of coaches left during his prime Italy. And even then when he was in Italy, he wasn't getting many call ups with the Italian national team. And rightfully so Taylor. I wonder what you think of the way in which this went down. We saw the Instagram post from Giovinco clear. He wasn't very happy with how the exit took place. Toronto FC Detroit. Omega mistake here Taylor. No, no, they didn't because they were going to pay him less. They were offering them less money and keep in mind, always Tony and cheek a little bit. With Sebastian Vigo's. Facebook message because he said he was willing to take a pay cut. And yet he's going to Saudi Arabia where he's actually getting pay raise. So I'm not totally sure where there that's lost in translation, listen Toronto. Could've lost him six months from now. He's gone for free. He can sign a contract. And then you lose them in the more important part of the stage of the season. And there's two gentlemen, sitting at your desk and Paul mariner, and Steve Nicol that know this better than anyone has coaching staff is that because of the way the Major League Soccer schedules, lined up you actually need to make the decision now because in the summer few lose him for free going into the most important part of the season. Then that's not gonna work out. So whether it's two million three million anywhere in between. The fact that Toronto got something for. Him and they can move on. I think it's better for both parties and also Jovica has been injured sev-. We we all on the outside love and appreciate the kind of player that he is. And what he did in the four years of Major League Soccer, those numbers, we just showed you. But the reality is he's been injured a lot, right? So you're not gonna pay him seven eight million. And he's saying you would've taken four five. I'm not totally sure when he's going over to Saudi Arabia and almost doubling his salary. Feels like the dawn of a new era for Toronto. See St Paul bring it on some other Major League Soccer news. We've got a report that MLS Leon Machies are gonna combine for eight tournament. Maybe if eight teams you guys know that tournament. Well, you called the Super League you want it. Do you see it kind of as useful nowadays and Major League Soccer may be different from the original which was cut off after a couple years? I think it would depend on on when it's played you know, when we were involved in it. It was a league season. And we were in the middle of the season. So as much as it went against them because they weren't Philly fair a win against those well because such such a busy season in so many games to have it right in the middle. Feroze was hard. So it's always great to win a coma. Titian we love playing on it. We love winning it. But as a really space in the calendar, plus the games. Little friendly games. They were really tough games. We witness some stuff on football fields particular Gillette stadium. That was a little scary to be perfectly Frank. So, you know, it's not cakewalks..

"Had that chance to test your metal in Europe. When you see the development of players, what would you advise speed guys? That are okay. I think that's a huge advantage. You know, I value education. So I'm not opposed to guys that that rather that I I think it's a huge pillar when you're talking about life and just learning how to live and in today's society, but our Masako standpoint, I also kind of wish I had the chance to go at the fifteen fourteen year old go there learn what it's like there instead of going there and eighteen or nineteen, you know, where you lose the time and kind of, you know, putting yourself in that environment like like a Christian pulisic, like these these young guys that we see go over that very young ages and already at eighteen or signing professional contracts. I think that's a huge advantage. Obviously if you're able and you have the opportunity, but I think every player is different no ways the right way. And I think it matters from player to player in terms of you know, what path they take. Now, I'm very curious about this diversity thing because us on the. Max and Eric podcast. We've we've covered diversity quite a bit. The Jonathan Gonzales story and representation matters. And how US soccer needs to kind of go outside of his umbrella. And look at different maybe neighborhoods, and then sectors that maybe can't afford the pay to play and all these different things that come with it. Then you have Eddie Johnson comes out, and whether his comments were correct or not he shed some light on of the may be important to see in your opinion is US soccer Major League Soccer doing enough in these undeserved or under a resource communities. I think more can be done. Certainly I think there's a lot of talent that is on top growing up playing in south, south, Florida. I grew up a lot of a lot of Latino kids a lot of Caribbean kids who are incredible talents. But it's difficult for those kids to get seen kind of and get those opportunities. So listen United States have picked country. It's a big task. And so I think the US soccer analysts can improve. And I think they know that and I think it's a conscious effort, and you know, there's a lot of peace. To the puzzle. But I think attracting, and and and and and center fine more kids that are more diverse that kind of have this game kind of bread and butter in their culture, if we can get those kids to start playing soccer and start getting these kids more opportunities. I think he can only help better soccer across the board in our country. You have a busy calendar through the season. Whether it's national team, whether we are obligate the way the way Major League Soccer changed their schedule here and make a little more compact about the international dates are going to be honored Shirley in the summer. How how do you view that as an advantage or Do do you you like like? our leagues always changing, which is which is fun and exciting? And I think the format now I actually puts a lot more episode on the regular season. So you know her played in the league there are times or fixtures. Where you look at we can send a team there and send Senate team there. I think now you look at every game now and you need to play your best team and try to win every game. And try to get every point matters. Now as you don't wanna be a team going into the playoffs having play on the road every every match. So I think it will be interesting season for a number of reasons with respect to that..

"You saw us here in Los Angeles right now. Oh, we on. We are on now. Okay. So we're at Melissa media days. And this is a great time. I really look forward to it. I wanna speak on your behalf. I'm sure you do too because we get to really prime up on Major League Soccer. There's a players are here. The coaches everyone involved with the league it comes through these doors. It's here in Los Angeles. So you have a good time. Most of the players are very accommodating. Yes. I heard there's an issue with Dom Dwyer. He got all kinds of divo-. What's really? Yeah. Been reading about it. I hope that's not the case. Because Dom always been an awesome guy to us. But he apparently that was the case. We'll give him the benefit of doubt. Let's say maybe he's a misunderstanding. Hopefully, you've oh, yeah. Like the band like amount whippet whippet male term for diva. Oh, ill Ildiko ill diva. All right. So we have a really cool podcast. Call him that by the way. Okay. No. You just brought it up. Yeah. Breaking news. We have a nice show for you. Here. We're going to sit down right here with Josie outdoor. We're going to talk with only Kamara of the galaxy as well have another podcast was he said, you know, I never did. You did just please. This is absurd. I can I finish. Sure. So, unfortunately, one of the things fortunately, and unfortunately because it was a very special night. The memorial service resumed Schmidt happened on Friday, we arrived Thursday. We'll go through the weekend. So it was here in Manhattan beach about twenty miles from where we are right now. And. Me personally, I knew I was going wanted to attend. And thankfully, the we're I was able to do that. And I was expecting a big turnout. And when I got there, I it was overwhelming. It was the word her Chilver whelming, which was filled, and you looked around and there were people that, you know, working in this or playing in this sport for the last twenty years, folks you recognize and it was just an outpouring of relationships, and and almost cathartic to see guys that you hadn't seen in ten fifteen years. I mean coaches. Players that you play. I mean, just one was such a overwhelming out of body experience. It was a time capsule last thirty five forty years, and what is college soccer professional soccer with Major League Soccer and US national team. And to see the amount of just love and social players broadcasters administrative where I saw picture with three US, men's nationally and coaches ex US, MS axioms coaches, Steve Sampson, you know, Bob, Bradley, Bruce Arena. Had all types of ex players, whether it's collegiate levels professional levels national team level, it just anybody and everybody who's CD somehow touched all along the way touch the lives along the way was there to show their support for Valerie as wife, and then Kyle and their family, and I was a little over weld seen so many people together because I don't think you can get that many people in a room to say they like me alone, come to my service. And I'm saying the most respect it was really overwhelming. And I know you had a few instances where you knew ciggie, I played preceding he'd getting my opportunity when I was nineteen and when things got rough towards the end of my career, he gave me an opportunity to come back in my career the right way. And I will always be grateful for that. Like a lot of players city. Had this rocky road of a relationship. You know? Nineteen and he told me that I should look for another profession in for for a lot of years. I resented Ziggy for that not understanding of this is just business, and then I play wasted that you. Yeah. Not understanding. And it's just too cold truth. You know at times he has to coach estimate harsh decisions in when he cuts Uni. He says, listen, maybe you need to start thinking about other things in your future. I took it the wrong way. And and then I became a player and played in Mexico and played against Sounders. And you know, a couple of times I took shots at at Sigi on air, and it wasn't until after that would speak..

But I did watch on my phone and on the on Emily's soccer. We and Taylor was on there. It was it was probably I'll give Major League Soccer. They're doing a much better job with their studio shows evaded people like Hailin car Susanna Collins on the draft keep adding gassed Alan Gordon was on decks McCarthy's on, you know, Bobby, you know, Matt all those guys do a tremendous job making something so boring like draft. Interesting do tremendous job this is list. They'll look the the crux of the issue is the reason people tuned into in them, stating the obvious here. But the reason people. Stephen keel. Congratulations on your marriage got married, married. Got married where you're not invited. Oh, good. As a person, you'll find sell to the your rate hair. Great look. Yes. Michelle Akers is doubled. Anger. But anyways back to what we're saying. It's it's make something so boring. Interesting. The reason there's appeal in drafts we know who's being drafted. And we've always we never really knew at once in a while. There is a draft. There is a player that breaks through and we hear it. But it's not happening about ten years and the process has been altered, by the way players kind of come through here. And how young players are are signed to clubs and going back really quickly to the Melissa studio show. Wars shine. And Matt Doyle knows guys. It's funny because they've develop these personas that even ownership groups of taking notice we had Merritt Paulson on here..
