"Is great. It's a lot of fun, definitely a lot of ups and downs. Such 24 7365 Running A small business means you're always running clover is all in one management tools that takes care of business from accepting payments to selling more to the daily tasks that keep your business humming. Clover is in your corner. What we're talking about here with Lamar Jackson just was dominant And like, like we haven't seen before, And so the question obviously becomes like okay. What comes up must come down like a regression to the mean we talked about this from the homes last year. And so I think the point that I made last year in the homes and I would make it again with Lamar Jackson. We all should We all I expect Lamar Jackson to regress. Okay. I expect Lamar Jackson to regress. He's still my number one quarterback because he's so far ahead of everyone else, that even if he regresses a decent amount, he's still worthy of being the number one quarterback. The differences is like, how much better is he going to be? Then Patrick Mahomes or Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson or Shawn Watson or any of the guys that we expect to be up there for the level of the quarterback position? Thursday. Kyle threw this together and I'll just throw this out real quickly. Lamar Jackson last year threw touchdown, a 9% of passes right nearly double the league average homes the homes from two years ago. The last year he dipped from 8.6 to 5.4. Much closer to league average again. So if Jackson declines at a similar rate, his touchdown pass total will go from 36 to 23 Okay. And Michael Vick's best rushing year. He rushed for 24.6 more than a 16 game average with Atlanta. So again, we're just we're taking it. We're trying to take out wires here. But if Lamar Jackson's rushing declines by 24% He'd still have over 900 rushing yards. In essence, if we just take those numbers His touchdown rate basically cuts in half his rushing declines about about 25%. He'd have about 81 fantasy points fewer than he did the year before. He still would have 341 334 Fantasy points is here at last year would have been Cuba to basically let John Watson was, like, 337 But so that's what we're talking about, and that's again to hone in on this point. It's not that we don't believe Lamar Jackson will finish as the number one fantasy quarterback this year. Both you and I, and I believe every rancour but one at ESPN has the Mar Jackson is the number one quarterback going into the season? Who hates Lamar Jackson? Here? I don't know. And Eric Carabinieri. Jeroboam. He hasn't behind Patrick Mahomes. Thank you for the assist there. Kyle's Carson wants that one. Hey, hasn't behind Patrick Holmes. So again. It's just that the difference the standard deviations between Lamar Jackson and number two quarterback this year. Might be no here where his last year it was a gulf now. We've established that premise and regression does not mean regression as a player, itjust means in terms of fantasy football points. But let's ask this question first round, so I'm going to start by round by round. In a vacuum. Standard scoring on ESPN 10 or 12 Team league, one quarterbacks or not a sort of at the quarterback league right now, and you have a first round pick. Are you taking him anywhere in the first round? No. Okay, anywhere in the second round. Yeah. Interesting second round really, depending if I'm in a 12 Team league late second round if he's still there, depending on how the board has gone like, if if there's a lot of running backs like you're too mean like again, we talked about the depth at wide receiver. There are a lot of running backs gone, and I'm sitting there with Lamar Jackson or You know, some I'm trying to think of like who would be like in the old girly one of those types. I'll take Lamar Jackson. So just for reference right now, and things can change on the A. T P. He's around 15th overall amongst all positions in terms of 80 people second round and although you and I have been hammering the idea of running backs early running backs early on ESPN right now there is more wide receivers and I think a draft that you and I would be a part of in the top 10. In terms of a teepee, so they're probably heavier in the wide receiver just distribution than you and I would vouch for. So Lamar Jackson. You're comfortable. Lamar Jackson. Let's put a number to it like And and I know this is very difficult, but now that we've honed in on the second round, no sooner than pick 18 20 Yeah, I mean, I don't love to put a number on it. They're just because again, you sort of every drafted them or it depends on who I have in the first round. And it also depends whose onset like, so if I'm again like by the last pick of the second round, so I know I have two picks right? And so it depends on who's there like I might use one of my picks on Lamar Jackson, right? If I'm looking around, and I'm like, Oh, you know, there's four good wide receivers left and so I don't need to take one here because I congratulate Mar and I know that whoever is going to be left when I come back around in the third round. Or same sort of thing, right? If I'm like I want to go running back running back, but like I get there to the end and David Johnson lay beyond Bel Todd Gurley and Chris Carson are available. No, I like Carson a lot more than those other three guys, but whatever like I'm like I can live with any one of those four is my number two running back. So I think it all depends on sort of lead in the level of competition and somewhat of the scoring the one they want two things about Lamar Jackson. I think interesting to sort of talk about here..

"We actually went to Walmart the other day. And we just Austin ran into China, walk without a mess and I'm like, what do you need doing? Just do it just where the? The stop them at the door give him a mass. Just where your mass to. Say. About that process. But my point, I'm trying to say some timeout the NFL. The NFL has pushed the opt out period to Thursday at four PM. Now, it was obvious. It was actually a pushed up to Tuesday or Wednesday. And then according from, Patriots, came out and said. Privilege called the NFL rushing us to do this. This is the thing. The NFL is a business. Okay. The NFL is just trying to figure out who is it? WHO's not? And I'm less and I get when this first came out I'm thinking myself. What the heck is the NFL doing they are making these guys decide. Obviously there's been so many players show fight about deller forty, three, forty, five players have opted out of the season so far eight from the New England patriots. So I, understand what according to saying, why forcing us to do this Today. This is business. A have guidelines in place at the facilities at the buildings that were at the compounds to make sure. To try Insures excuse me. That, we are minimizing positive tests that if everyone does their part. We should not have any more tests. Positive cases but some players still do do or do not feel safe Patrick Mahomes came out and said, he feels a lot better with what the NFL is put in place. Obviously his name, his opinion can carry a lot of weight. For other players. But there are still plays out there saying forget it. I'm not GONNA do it. And now with the deadline? At four PM. Is Actually what I'm very curious about. What. Happens if someone does after the this deadline do they face? Permits. Do they actually just say we're not GONNA pay your one fifty. Is that what happens? As of right now, I'm not seeing anything on there.

"Is a new company when the evil is so top down when there's no established HR department and when you don't believe that the people of the highest levels are going to care or do anything, you have absolutely no recourse and for this young woman, it means she literally left the job and the industry. Players blitz NFL with tweets about safe return

"And thank you so much for joining us seven am on the east coast this. Get up I'm Ryan Smith in for my Greenberg, and we will be with you for the next two hours with a lot to cover from the weekend, especially from the world of the NFL, because believe it or not, we're just fifty two days away from the Super Bowl champion chiefs, and the Houston Texans opening the NFL regular season as rookies from both of those teams will be the first players to report to training camps today, but a big development yesterday of NFL players took to twitter. Twitter yesterday to voice their concerns about the safety protocols put in place or lack thereof chiefs quarterback Patrick mahomes. Said this getting ready to report this week hoping the NFL will come to agreement with the safe and right protocols, so we can feel protected playing the sport. We Love Hashtag. We WanNA play. The saints drew brees. We need football. We need sports. We need hope, but the NFL's unwillingness to follow the recommendations of their own medical experts will prevent that if the NFL doesn't do their part to keep players healthy, there is no football in twenty twenty. It's that simple. Get it done NFL and seahawks. Russell. Wilson I am concerned. My wife is pregnant. NFL training camp is about to start, and there is still no clear plan on player, health and family safety. We want to play but football, but we also want to protect our loved ones again Hashtag, we wanNA play over the weekend NFL PA Vice President Sam. Acho gave this recommendation. If safety plans are not in place. The recommendations for some of the rookies, and also some of the players is to report right now we have a week until all the other ninety gas or supposed to report, and so as of now we're telling players get ready and stay ready, but if the NFL doesn't come up with these plans, you cannot show up.

"Go to Illinois, and let's talk to Bob Bob Europe on CBS Sports Radio. What's up? Sean. Thanks for taking my call. I'm a loyal listener of the 67 score in Chicago. They're great station great people. Agreed. Here. Here's my point. I wanted to ask many people, um Radio sports show hosts like yourself. Uh, question. And I'm going to make some statements tonight. Like to ask a question that e and K. Okay? You know? I do follow markets. I'm not an expert, and I do believe in cycles. Be sports industry has been an up cycle for the last 40 years with very minimal Interruptions. I'm unlike any industry. It's an industry, right? Sure. Okay? Sports industry is now seeing the mother of all Ah! Disruptions. Disruptions. Yeah, yeah. Could make your point. Bob, let's go. Sports industry is in a depression. No one knows it yet, but it will not be in my opinion or not being like it. Wass. It's top. It's Pete. It's top You will not see. Um it's a $1,000,000,000. Franchises that those air things of the past and you know what the Cherry on top is The Patrick Mahomes contract that's a cherry on top of the tops. That's the symbolism that I see. I'd like to hear your comments on that. Okay. Thank you. Okay. Yeah. Thanks, Bob. I appreciate it. I don't know that we're gonna be able to tell for a little while. What exactly? Sports thirst is and I think in the short term because I do think what we learned during the pandemic is there's a lot of people that miss Sports You know, I think to say that it's peak bomb is Look, when baseball came back basketball came about viewership has been very, very high. I think viewership numbers for the NFL. We're gonna be record numbers this fall, in large part because none of the fans who would normally go to the stadium, or at least very few of them are going to be able to go to the stadium. You know, so the only way you're going to be able to watch these games on TV? Not granted. We're talking about 70,000 in each city each Sunday in the grand scheme of things, not very many people, you know, in terms of a sport that gets million's With respect the viewership, I think in terms of Peking for viewership interest That's different than peeking in terms of revenue. And here's why I say that Because even though Even though viewership might have peaked or made me going down a little bit. They're still value in live sports, because there's very few things that are watched live anymore. So there is still great value in that audience, because it's one of the few things that people don't routinely DVR and watch at some other time or watch on demand. There is a there is an aspect to sports were watching it live matters. Watching it live is at a premium. Watching it live feels different than watching a game on DVR and avoiding the score all day. And I think there is value in that. So I don't think that I don't think the two things are intrinsically linked. I don't think viewership needing to continue to skyrocket like it's been more for football than in other sports. You're right. As an industry sports is an industry over 40 years. Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag

"Not Deal for. Prescott and the cowboys could not agree to terms on a deal that would have the quarterback between thirty three and thirty five million dollars annually with a hundred and ten million of that guaranteed. So Daf will now play this season on the thirty one point four million dollar franchise tag. He will once again on himself this season if there were reports that the two sides were close, they clearly were not close enough. WHO's more likely to regret? Not Getting a deal done deaf Prescott or the Dallas Cowboys. I'm going to say. Despite the fact that I believe is going to end up the highest paid player than Patrick Mahomes in NFL, history I Dak is going to get the money that he ultimately wanted I think he's going to be franchise tag this year franchise tag next year and then hit open free agency. But here for deck that in the in the pursuit of that money, he's going to become an athlete that I. Don't think any athlete wants to be which is your name is not your name anymore? It's not Dak. Prescott is having a Joe Johnson Joe. Johnson stopped being Joe Johnson. He started being Joe Contract because no matter how good he was, he was never going to be able to live up to that contract. And I think Jack is setting himself up to be a little bit richer than he otherwise would be. Be a guy who can never live up to that contract, and the reason I think Dallas is not gonNA regret this, even if they back on the quarterback treadmill is because the the worst thing you can have in this league. Wild does not have a quarterback. The worst thing you can have is a vastly overpaid quarterback. If you don't have a quarterback and find a new one, you can go try to find one if you have a vastly overpaid quarterback. You're just stuck and so I think Jack is going to get what he thinks he wants in this the most money in. Have ever gotten aside from Mahomes I. Think he will end up regretting it because you have a great organization, you have great skill, position guys, and if he would've just signed for Carson, Wentz plus ten percent, no one would've held it against him, and instead this contract and the negotiations around at wild. You're going to be the narrative surrounding him for years to come. See I disagree. You think that it's it's. I think the worst thing to have is a mediocre quarterback. Any shot at the super. Bowl and I'm GONNA throw to a clip of Darren Woodson in a second, but I think in our minds if it's been glossed over that, it was troy and then Tony, but there was a the drew bledsoe Weirdo error there that they were in a bad spot. If we can take a listen a Darren Woodson please hubs. In, the world when you have quarterback purgatory. Where you can. You're not good at that position. That position is holding you back from winning games, and there was a time before Tony Romo era. Where there were four years, we went five and eleven. In a week, totally struggled at that one position in in today's game that one position is means a ton means wins and losses gotta get you over the Hump in when you don't have that Clare in that position. It's a huge struggle. I'm. So. Bryan. I think this eventually gets done I. Don't know if he gets franchise again. I think that we just moved the goalposts and a long-term deals going to get done. They like each other. Dak wanted for the cowboys wanted five I. Don't think the answer is. Let's get divorced just because we can't agree. I think this eventually get works gets worked out and I. Don't think anyone has any regrets long-term. The cowboys ended up regretted. Just a bit because I think that goes out and has a very good year. This season with Mike McCarthy Mike McCarthy comes back in after winning a playoff game or two, and says we need to have Dak back now. The cowboys have to pay him that long term contract, which is going to be a little bit more than they would have had to pay him this year. Here's the question that I've always had. If if the cowboys don't love, why would they ever want to sign him to a five year deal versus the forty deal if you don't love them then? On to a four year deal, you can get rid of him quicker. Why would you want WanNa longer contract if you don't love him, and you don't know exactly what he is for your football team to me I think they know who back is they just don't WanNa, pay him because they see him as a fourth round pick. A guy that has played well in this career hasn't quite got over the Hump. I don't think they want to pay him if I'm back Prescott I, feel like I'm in a great position to meet the floor. The absolute four is thirty three to thirty five million dollar contract that you can get from some other team after the season. If things don't work out for you here in Dallas, I think a team like Jacksonville. Teams that would need a quarterback was still need a quarterback next year and would be that open market possibly if he doesn't give franchise in the floor to his contract would be that deal that he turned down this season from the cowboys.

"You know I mean in in twelve years. He's going to be thirty five. You know that that thirty, two, thirty, one or thirty two rains you're you're probably starting to sort of think about what you can do as it relates to to that contract and not picking up those guaranteed. Yeah I mean I think. You don't feel like it's as easy of a call as it is for the home situation. But I think you also can't really say no. Look I feel like you would. You would really have to be. You know you'd feel pretty bad is he'd be like well. What is the my Axon? What can you do to prove that he's? You know at that level if he wins the super bowl so. I? I think it's GonNa. Be Really interesting. 'cause I think you are going to see players. Whether they're Patrick. Mahomes or not, it's like the Michael Jordan thing Michael Jordan dancing where it was like. Yeah, Michael, Jordan can get away with being a jerk is he's Michael Jordan, but you can't get away with being that level of jerk when you're eighty. percent is good as Michael. Jordan is and the same thing. would be a jerk. Exactly the same thing is true with this contract right like. Patrick Mahomes. It's fine. I have no caused by this deal for Patrick. Mahomes. I think I would be okay with it with the Mark Jackson, but it'd be a little scared about it. You know the showing Watson if he wants that contracts. You're not going to him for that, but. What happens when it's Jamal? Adams Jamal Adams now goes to the jets, and he says hey. Yeah. I changed my mind. I don't WANNA five year. Deal I want a twelve year contract. Now, what do you do? It's really. Going to be fascinating to see other players. Try to get this sort of contracting. What happens? Well, Should Patrick Mahomes have gotten this contract not to the giving it to him. Should he have wanted this long of a contract? That's a viable question to like, did he? Do you really want to be locked up to this number that you. Don't. You assume that you know these numbers are not gonNA. You you assume that these numbers will. Continue to be in line with what the market is and see what happens Calvin Johnson? Few years ago. When you know when he was at the peak of his powers and playing. He he had the top top of the line contract for wide receivers and no one would. Dare to top IT. Even agents understood at teams players emphasis. Now he's megatonne. You know we'll slot in him so well. I'm curious how this works for NFL player quarterbacks, because traditionally speaking whether you're Derek Carr or carson, wentz or Aaron Rodgers were Russell Wilson Kirk cousins. The next guy to get paid tops the market. And we will that be the case with debt, Prescott Shawn Watson, or will they say? You know what he is Patrick Mahomes. We'll take a little bit less I think that's the tough part, because if you're. If you're the, and. You want to resign dot. Prescott over the next week or so. You look at the five years of this deal the first five years of this contract. Patrick Mahomes is making one hundred and forty one and a half million dollars, which is about twenty eight million dollars per year. We know Dak Prescott. Extension the numbers we've heard about are all in the thirty four to thirty five million dollars a year IAN so you're menaul realistically. That Prescott is getting a much larger contract than Patrick Mahomes over the next five years. It just so happens that. After those five years. That could be a free-agent whereas Patrick mahomes still has. Seven years and three hundred thirty six million dollars coming him so. No! I think you're GONNA. See the cowboy side of things. Sit here and say hey, you know. We're going to bring your money down because you know you're not better than Patrick, Mahomes and Patrick. Mahomes makes twenty eight million dollars a year to this contractor. is going to say hey. Patrick mahomes averaging. Thirty nine point eight million dollars a year in cash this contract. That's what we want on a five year deal. We want forty million dollars a year. But maybe maybe to your point, it'd be the Calvin Johnson. Saying. We're just GONNA, be this outlier that exists. Away from every other contract, and you can't use it as as proof of anything. Similar sort of to the injury and Peterson deal with the vikings where running back contract still stands out as the most lucrative from not mistaken, running back contract in history, even though it's now. Almost a decade old, so it was. It's to be really fascinating, and I think you know to see mahomes go for that length of deal in a in a situation where we have Dak Prescott wanting a short contract. We have to Shawn Watson wanting short contract. It's really interesting and I. Think it is you know I think it's going to end up being unique but I also think they're going to be players who are going to think the same way Mahomes us. Yeah and I'm not criticizing over the CAP or spot tracker anyway, but I'm curious. If you go to get over the CAP, Dot Com and you know Patrick. Mahomes listed forty five million dollars a year. That's average salary, but he does have those you know the two years before the extension kicks in. He's not over the link to this bowl deal. He's not making forty five million dollars per year as you point out. And, so I I I. You know this and I know the agents noticing teams. No the. The media knows this. I don't think a lot of fans completely. No, it I was explaining somebody the other day. They're like what I who whose contract retirement but I I was explaining to contract. Wait what like this is why? There's nobody reporting on this look. The way it works is that you know people. When this deal is now. Five hundred million dollars ten year deal mahomes locked up, but you know it's it. Those numbers are these numbers in football are always fudged a bit significant. The numbers of basketball are always what they are getting paid the the fully guaranteed numbers in baseball. Just what they are. Yes, he's never football or not. It's accurate. Yeah, it's it's like how do you want to dress up to make you look? Like so I mean if you for instance. Who? Was the OG Super Agent Guy that Jerry Maguire is based off. This is his first huge contract. Since he got back to Mahomes as his first guy, he he he, he picked up homes. mahomes turned into a superstar Lance at the chiefs. All works out great top ten pick you know, I, think it was I think. I think the same thing probably that Prescott like. Your Dak Prescott agent. You can't ask. You like listen back. I know that you want to play for the cowboys I know you'll play with thirty five million dollars a year. What year he wants to give you, but here's the problem if I if I if I vince you to take that or if you take that, it looks like I convince you to take that and then other people won't WanNa. Sign me because I'm willing to let my clients take less. There's it there's a there's a need for the. The agents to prop up what their players have gotten for sure in order to get more players. If you signed patrimony to a ten year five hundred million dollar deal, it's only by talking about players on the ESPN and CBS. I think had stories. NFL players react to mahomes deal. Thank you. That's crazy, but totally worth it and all these people all seat at the they are. They were aware that Patrick Mahomes has gotten this and it only serves to make that. More attractive for other players and again not criticize specific agents. I've just sort of saying that the process for this report for reporting these contracts, so just broken because of the way that the salary cap works, and all that and it's just very frustrating. Yes Johnson is the highest paid offensive line and football for an extension which kicks off in twenty, twenty six. and. That's not guaranteed, but it's home. Steel is partially guaranteed are guaranteed in the future. We'll before you finish up here. I wanted to get to these props. Because I feel like this is a really interesting thing. We have very little information. We have two years of Patrick Mahomes to go off of really as started plus let one start as a rookie so I I came up with five props. We're GONNA each give a number. See where.

Patrick Mahomes agrees 10-year deal with Chiefs worth $503m

"One of the huge headlines this week was the decade long contract that Patrick Mahomes lands in Kansas City. Will we see a ripple effect from that? Will that affect a deal for Dak Prescott? ESPN is Jeff Darlington. Will you know what? In some circumstances, I could have seen Mahomes getting a contract and maybe influencing the Doc Prescott deal, But the way it worked out, it actually won't know. I had spoken to some people before the homes got his deal done, And they implied that it Patrick Mahomes is in a little bit of a different air, No matter what. Um, Any quarterback that was coming up on his contract was not going to be able to demand that kind of money. The other situation here is that The home's ended up doing a 10 year deal. The contention between Dak Prescott the Cowboys the deck once less years, then the Cowboys willing TTO. Do they want to get five years? Dad wants to get four years. As a result, I think that the better calm pier is not Patrick Mahomes, but it's still Kirk cousins from a few years ago. Prescott now basically threatening to plan to the franchise tag and saying, If you don't pay me now, my price is only going to go higher. So this week will be very interesting. I still contend they going to get something done by July 15th. We'll have to wait and see those relationships take time, though. Nobody is patients in the NFL's. So what are you hearing about the relationship between deck and his new head coach Mike McCarthy. Look, everybody sees this as being really an ideal relationship. Personality wise, they really do meld quite nicely together, Doc, one of the most likeable one of the most enjoyable people to be around Like McCarthy, also the type of guy you can come in there and really work with Jack to a degree. Actually, I know the Cowboys fans don't want to hear this. But the relationship that Jason Garrett had with Jack I don't think it'll be that much different between these guys. And that actually is a good thing despite the outcome of Jason Garrett success, so Ah, lot of people expect this to be a really good relationship. I could, by the way, seeing This relationship prosper this year to the point where Doc next year winds up if he doesn't sign the deal now signs it later so that he can keep that marriage with McCarthy going

"For Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl MVP and now locked up under contract with the Chiefs for years and years to come. He's only 24 years old, and he's already won a Super Bowl and is considered an elite. NFL quarterback thoughts on the big deal from the man himself. Obviously, I want security to take care of my family and my and my future generations of family. I also wanted to keep really good football players around me. I mean, I'm not gonna sit here and lie and say that I have a great football team around me. Doesn't help help me when I'm on the field on. So I wanted to find the best way that I could do that. And I feel like as we talk to me and as crazy Chris and and all these guy, Chris Meijin and all these guys talked that they came to me with this. This idea in this concept of Of obviously making me financially secure. But having the ability to go out sign these recent all these guys and like we were returning 20 or 21 of 22 starters, I knew that this was the way that was going to the right way to do it where we can accomplish boats, those things that are so important to me. And, of course, having Patrick Mahomes locked up under a nice contract is also a good deal for his head coach of the chief's Andy Reid. I'm so happy for for Pat for the Can study chief's organization on daily for the city of Kansas City for having this opportunity to have Ah True franchise quarterback here in Kansas City, one that was drafted here, which hasn't happened for almost the duration of the chief's organization. Mahomes' big bet on football pays off with $503 million deal

"Start off the show with the conversation that really dominated the Monday edition of the Zack Help show on CBS Sports Radio. And that was the breaking news of Patrick Mahomes inking a 10 year deal. $503 million contract What it is worth up to, and that's the news that has really rocked the sports world and hit the sports world since the week did commands only two days into the week, and when I look back at this Mahomes deal And I think he's 100% worth it. I know some are going to be even with this talent, skeptical of giving any player a 10 year deal truly a 12 year deal because of the two years that are still currently on his contract. I look at Patrick Mahomes, though, And this was evident to May after his first full season in the National Football League that not only was he the best quarterback in all of football, but he was the best player in all of football and even look at last year. All the adversity that was thrown in front of him. You had a knee injury. Then you're down 24 points in the divisional round. You're down 10 points in the FC championship game, and you're down 10 points in a Super Bowl with only 7.5 to go. Think about that for a second. Look out how much was working against them? Look how much were working against the team a lot of it their own fault. Because they were the team that went down 24 then 10 and 10 as well. And even with all that it shows you how great Mahomes is because Mahomes was able to dig himself into a deep hole, and he was able to find the way against all odds because of his talent to back himself out of it. Now It's not only him. You need playmakers around you. You need a good coach. And you need a defense that in the second half of the season, that defense really did step up. The game where my home's got hurt. I think they were playing the Broncos. I could be wrong on that. But whoever they were playing that night, I remember talking to Steve Spagnola after they won the Super Bowl inspect set on the show. It was that night where Mahomes got hurt. That was the turning point for the defense this year with the Kansas City Chiefs.

What if does how does it play now granted? His team hasn't been factor. Obviously. Nobody got a decent team this year. I mean right, but if he doesn't play. Will that put any type of damper. On this year for you, let, let's just let me kind of. Flesh it out. If. Pat Mahomes decided he wasn't playing in the NFL season. Or if Lebron James decided he wasn't going to play in this NBA. Restart. Obviously it will put a damper on your Jaanus for that matter, if put a huge damper on the season if Doesn't play. Does it do that for you in baseball? No doesn't because the dodgers and the Yankees. Now, but the dodgers and Yankees or the two teams that people really kind of looking at I'm just saying going into the season. That doesn't mean that trough. Edge Ferren George I. Think a lot of Yankee fans and people around baseball would be disappointed if he was healthy and he didn't play especially, since a lot of people think the Yankees, dodgers have a chance to win the world series absolutely. I think that would be a blow and people would be like. Wow, 'cause I believe. If I remember Chris so far I don't think any Yankees about yet. Have they I don't. Think so yeah. Because! They have a chance to win a championship and I'm sure I'm sure dodgers on happy do it got price of course in the off season, right? We're mookie Betts. For Ma Boston. And that was supposed to help them. Drop all their starters and and better positions in their rotations with a price added to the. To the mix, and obviously mookie Betts to lineup so I'm not saying that that takes the dodgers out of a chance of winning, because they've prices and then the. No then the rotation put of say, Mookie Betts bowed out, but that hurt I think people were the dodgers would be bombed a specially because then Chris. You know he'd have a chance to be a free agent right right and they may have never got. To see him play for today. They may have never played a regular season game. I think what it does is speak to the nature sports whereas in basketball one players. Much more important than in baseball down got great players. They had doesn't mean you. Go Win all right. "I was saying months ago I would love to see him in New England with Bill Belichick. I'm very confident from what I've seen in his videos. No that's not the end all. He's not playing football. He's just working out or throwing the football by himself with with a receiver, but he looks good as far as his health. The exercises done on the foot. He looks healthy. We know he's going to a great coach. That can really fashion and offense around him so I. think that he's not gonNA play Tom Brady. He's going to put things in that offense that benefit Cam Newton in play to his strengths so I think all of that is great, and I like the fact. That CAM has maintained his confidence. But as covered in the immortal words rob of Kevin Durant. is too soon, Bro! It's too soon, Bro! I I don't need to hear all that yet. After you go out there and you shut up the critic because. Even if he had gotten rob, you know a twenty spy. Deal or thirty million dollar deal then that's one thing, but you just signed for A. You just signed for the absolute bottom of what they could give you with a guy, your experience in the League. And I don't need to hear the Braggadocio now. I like the confidence. But I say go out there and do it on the field, and then you can talk all you want. The the falls flat on his face. Then is going to look incredibly bad. So you know I mean he thought yeah. He's GonNa. Make the also team could have made it often at you right right. And, you know what he didn't make it. Patriots sign QB Cam Newton to replace Tom Brady

"Tonight I think it's exciting to see what Newton can do a healthy Newton with Josh McDaniels and bill ballot check in this offense sieve juggernauts if you well and remember McDaniels they run a very innovative offense that Matt Werner ram mentioned it last hour in twenty ten they draft Gronk Aaron Hernandez they go to that too tight and sat before everybody else they have in the NFL did then it's copy cats city they hurried up shortly thereafter before chip Kelly was even hired by the eagles and now that's commonplace and this new read option type offense the Newton is a master of the patriots haven't done it given Tom Brady's obvious limitations in that category so this picture offense last year was a boring offense to watch it was a slog it was a struggle it wasn't exciting it was the first time where if you're a patriots fan you looked wistfully at the other teams and said why why can't we have Josh Allen yeah there is a ton of pics but always teases interesting to watch why why can't we have Lamar Jackson Pat Mahomes Ryan Tannehill why why can't we have to Shawn Watson why can't we have a quarterback who can move a little bit who can do more than the ball on the territory a five yard screen pass to a double covered Julian Edelman why well healthy cam Newton gives the patriots a more dynamic offensive attack I mean let's face it this was not a very good offense with Tom Brady especially in the second half of last season I think that there is that thirsty to try something new in belt check the is a really smart guy and smart people want new challenges and I think him new night I think introducing that element of offense which is going to come anyway because Jarrett Stidham is more mobile too so either way the patriots were gonna introduce more of that read option modern type NFL offense but and I think that excite spell check and probably excites McDaniels and in terms of where they're going as a running a running based offense Newton obviously is far more dynamic in that category the Brady too and if Sony Michelle returns to form a franchise and left guard this offseason me not to the patriots about their starting center David Andrews back healthy and they have three guys who can now play full back including two players who they drafted this year that's clearly the direction the patriots are moving find a really good and versatile defense and I Bella check as one league does this as the week goes this way Belichick is going that way and that you see that the roster construction of this team and I can even help

A Turning Point: Race Relations In Sports

"It has now been more than four weeks in George. Floyd was murdered nearly a month since we all watched him. Take his last breaths. It feels like so much is different, but real actionable change that takes time. Many who took to the streets in protests have now resumed their daily lives, so now seems appropriate to discuss how sport will handle affairs moving forward. As North American teams and Leagues Continue Their Return to play processes. It is vital that the conversations and promises made when the racial issue was hottest that they do not go away. In a few moments, we will welcome in our panel to discuss how that should happen, but first a look at how we got here in the first place. He will have color have been argued about beliefs, and that's not right. That's not right by any was standards. The point he was making gut twisted from the start. The beginning when Colin Kaepernick I made is public protests peacefully heap I sat on the bench during the national anthem to bring awareness. There's a lot of things that need to change once one specifically police brutality. There's people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable. It was the summer of two thousand sixteen, when he bursts truly used his platform as an NFL quarterback to speak out against systemic racism by police in the weeks leading into that preseason payment. San Francisco capper Nick had watched. We all had. To white officers pinning down Alton Sterling. And pumping. into his chest and back. He saw the traffic stop in Minnesota when Philander Casteel was killed in front of his girlfriend in charge. And captured it could not understand how mental health therapist Charles Kinsey could be shot by police when he was lying on the ground with his arms up in the air, people of color have been targeted by police. Cops are getting paid leave. For killing people. That's not right. That's not right by anyone's standards. And yet from the beginning law in. pre-game gesture was misrepresented and downright manipulated. The Christ came that he was disrespecting the flag that it was a slap in the face to military personnel. But when active soldiers pointed out, they serve to provide their citizens with the freedom of speech that capture nick was exercising. That narrative quickly was quashed when army veterans who had been in battle, echoed that very sentiment out of national football league buildings team needs I would be disappointed if any of our players didn't stand up for the national anthem personally. I, look at that as a salute to the people who have paved the way for us. Our Organization believes that. You should. Respect the flag and so you'll save those individual decisions to expression show. On individual form. And that became the prevalent message. Don't do it here. Stick to sports. The underlying tone. How dare you protest without our approval we're. Do you get off? Colin Kaepernick criticizing anyone in another uniform. Right the men and women lead for this, I- scenic. First hand. For. Somebody do that to get paid millions of dollars. It's ridiculous. Cabinet remained undeterred. United States Army Bet. Nate! Boyer who did tours of duty in Iraq, and Afghanistan encouraged him to kneel and not sit. By, taking a knee voyeur told him you show your respect for fallen brothers that way. So capture nick did. And then more NFL players followed. And yet the public and political conversation in the US would not steer toward police brutality. No matter how much star athletes peacefully attempted to. And the leader in America's biggest chair. Amy Shirley Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners? When somebody disrespects our flag to say, get that son of a job appealed right now out each fire. I! Capture Nick became a source of division for standing up against injustice. He hasn't taken a snap since that twenty sixteen season. And at this year Super Bowl USA. Today's jared bell minced no words on why that is I. Think it's pretty obvious. He's been blackballed for Colin Kaepernick not to have a job is just. It's the worst look for the NFL. No conversation was more dominant inside NFL. Locker rooms that season than the Kapernick one teams are made up of players of all ages of all backgrounds of so many ethnicities. If you actually want to listen to different perspectives. If you're an athlete who would want to hear what your peers had to say, there would be no shortage of takes to soak in. But fundamentally the want would be to understand capper knicks fundamental point. After George Floyd one of the League's biggest stars reminded us that many still didn't I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Maybe that was the crossroads moment because the reaction to. It felt like something had changed almost as. That won't cut. It anymore drew. brees in the rest of the NFL were told right away, the new. Orleans quarterback came under fire. The players in the league had just about enough of the establishment silence. They had captured message. They were not gonNA. Let owners and Roger Goodell get away with it this time. Would have other Jewish Knowledge George if I was. I was George Void. Jewish. And say hi in. Regard. To me right. Breezes all pro receiver found Dallas's bruising runner and Houston's electrifying quarterback, and Kansas City Super Bowl Mvp. And Obi. And they all let you know. We. Condemn Racism and assistant. Matic oppression of black people. National League, admit wrong and silence our players from protesting. Also. Black lives matter black lives matter. Like loves. To Have Patrick Mahomes the next superstar the NFL. Front and center. That was massive. And the very next night the commissioner uttered the words you never imagined would happen. We the National Football League Immune. We were wrong for not listening NFL players earlier. And encourage all speak out in peacefully protests. Read the National Football League believe black lives matter. Progress. Probably a step forward. You want to believe so. The day after the commissioner changed his tune, breeze went to social media again. He'd already made his hollow apologies without actually saying sorry, and he finally seemed to be listening to what some teammates had to say, and after all of that even drew brees somewhat stood up to the president. It won't Change Donald Trump of course, but maybe it will make others think. Perhaps it will create more uncomfortable conversations to allow for a greater understanding among all of us. And at the very least it has given others throughout sport. To have the freedom to finally say their piece open believing they may at last be heard. Or country is in, trouble. Basic reason is race. You're seeing an example of future. That's fighting for you for you. Right now a fine for you got a grandfather that march legs. Dr King in the sixties. And he was amazing. You'll be proud to see us all. Got Pushing? Forward Doing Casey marched with his family. Members of Detroit's organization. An NBA coach using his voice. Over in Jacksonville Jaguars personnel were among the demonstrators. North Philly's finest. He walked. Kyle Lowery's we can. Priorities were set. This though. This is just the start. To silence of countless elites spoken loud. Until you see action from an, don't forget by the leaks themselves. We wonder what the real commitment to progress actually is. What capper protests was about from. The beginning can no longer be debated. And it is now crystal clear to all of us that no athlete should just shut up and dribble. Nelson Mandela famously said. Sport has the power to change the world. Since George, Floyd perhaps we have learned that change can come more from our sporting icons using their voice platform in pursuit for justice than any jumper were swing. Or goal or touched them. Stick to sports. Sure let's stick to sports bettering the world in a new way. Let's start hearing the real message now. And most of all, let's not get the words and actions like Hafer. Knicks twisted. When he tried to begin the real conversation. Before US AGO!

"The MVP last year. What conversation we have in Monday morning get up go have a conversation stations about Patrick mahomes possibly being one of the greatest of all time to play the game? We're projecting it's not that damn difficult for you to understand what I'm saying. We're projecting we watch Lebron James Ames first couple of years in the league and we say hey. This dude is going to be one of the greatest of all time tomorrow. That's a different conversation wise. He could. We don't need to win Sunday. He's already on a trajectory to be one integrates he's been in the AFC championship. He's in a super bowl now league. MVP and his numbers this year. I impressive he's on. I trajectory deal but it seemed like with. You seem like you're getting a little scared of you back it up. You're taking yesterday. It was like he wouldn't go say true. Era Walk Me. We're not saying he's going to be in the conversation. What's my exact span? Now you're saying it will project the conversation it would be about his projection and rejected told about if we put him in the car. I know you put them in the conversation with gray. Fox's as this is how it works you go. Tom Brady Joe Montana somewhere around here. Is Patrick Mahomes not somewhere around here. Twenty years from now with my. Hey look like Louis riddick patching holes Makamba so so so you're not going out dominates the super bowl. He will be in the compensation for the WHO is the conversation right now. It's obviously Tom. Joe Joe my man Terry Bradshaw Terry Bradshaw got four Super Bowls Terry Bradshaw's only they're the same. He's got his favorite thing. You don't have to like European has changed no. It hasn't no what happens. So what happens to the Jimmy Conversation Conversation. If he was Patrick Mahomes. Who says who you say will be? The greatest of Auto Shanahan is in the greatest coach comes so let me ask you the Super Bowl. Plus a minus two and a half super bowls passionate homes career. He'll win for minimum so to say what we thought. Aaron Rodgers was going to win four or anti Herod's every every Rogers was displayed. Hey if we can have this conversation about Patrico auditees breaking up next year. Does anybody not all the Damn Dan burros that know about caps. And what Blair's ago do they bring it up next year before this pip abusive so possibly to do already be playing for second song and counter so marcus. "Check it out greenies a little sick so we bought culture Wednesday to Thursday. So you have me and my Guy Dominique I think. Wait Swag who's GonNa come in and eventually we ended up a little bit as I ask You you don. We don't get straight to it if the forty niners win the super bowl who will be the MVP. So I think the easy answer is Jimmy Garoppolo but I think it's unlikely Jimmy Garoppolo put up the the numbers he has to to get the MVP that means he's shootout with Patrick Mahomes and that means that Patrick Mahomes win so I think you're gonNA defend them side of the ball. I expect both to get the guy he's GonNa have to get a couple of sacks maybe caused awesome fumbles tip ball interceptions make enough place to slow down Kansas City chiefs offense enough that the forty niners canal score them. And I think a defensive guy probably nick both is the guy who gift not in that situation. This would be a situation where we just give the entire defensive line the not they know they rotate nine guys is going to be so many people getting pressure or Patrick loans. If you win this would be something like I thought it should have been when the Seattle seahawks won super bowl when it's a group effort. I believe the group should get the nod and get to hold the trophy the of all together so number two is this. We have this game. We're trying to figure out okay. What's going to happen? Who's going to be here? Who's going to be there? And what scenario scenario could you see happening that other people may not again we talk about how good that forty-nine is defense is. I could see a scenario. The chief defensive outplays the forty niners defense. I know it was down a little crazy. But the chiefs defense has been better statistically than the forty niners defense since we tint they've been outstanding and what happens in this game the chiefs have been coming from behind in their first. I playoff games. If the chiefs by Chance Get up in this playoff game. That's what this team is built. Like those old colts teams when Peyton manning was back there if they get a lead their defense is built to play. Well against the past. I could see a scenario where Garoppolo dropping back rob a great play quarterback situation where they're down to three scores early in Grobbelaar. Oh has it dropped back and throw the ball without the help. lexi against this great secondary in his past teeth. I can see a scenario where the end today we look at the numbers we like. Damn I think it all matters holidays. His game starts though. This game starts out in the way. Patrick Mahomes is rolling and the forty niners have to get out of character. We decided this the chiefs defense start to attack and now. Here's my final question because because I was talking to Marcus Spears. WHO's my guy and he says it? Patrick Mahomes wins this game. He will be counted as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time it seems like it's in the microwave life but I think that spears off to the side spirits. Join US please. You're GonNa have to answer that. Can I ask you to move a little fast. We have a set with a deep with. DVD's not defensive offensive. Lineman Patrick Mahomes win this game is he if he's the Super Bowl. MVP after being.

"About this entire situation as if it's Tom L. old and everybody hurts isn't saying look. You're going to make a decision knowing was going to make a decision about where they want to go with this Very quickly larr reference. The Mark Timeline. Look New England is going to have to figure regret whether or not they want to go young and rebuild or whether they want to go you know we still do have enough pieces. We still do have the ability to be much more aggressive in free agency not like let people become thus but go get someone say. Look Tom. This is what we can do. You need some more weaponries festival in the perimeter this is we can go get. We will make sure that offense Alana's taking caravan may not be the same way as it was when Dante was here. Josh is still here. We still have a good defense. And I'm still bill belichick so I still can. We can offer you the best chance to win but it's going to be about. They're not going to be held hostage. They're not going to sit back and go ahead of. Tom Dragged on and on and on offering him the best chance to win. They have have to warn him back. Yeah that's that's that's what I'm saying. So they need to declare whether or not they're actually going to rebuild or they're going to make another run and don't underestimate this either. Obviously Robert Kraft is ultimately the one who can decide whatever the heck he wants to do with his team and that relationship is special. That relationship can make everything else below. It means seemed totally insignificant significant pieces. I want you back and I'm GONNA pay. He'll tell bill. This is what we're doing and two story REX. We think if that's New England's pitch. We're going to make the team better. We're still a contender. You buying it buying it because the number one defense in the National Football League you have the best coaches Lewis mentioned so yeah. It's still there. Are they awful at skill position. Yes they are as their offense. I need to get much better. They do but you know for for us to look at Tom Brady going somewhere.

"He brings data. He loves to talk about. Hey I can pay anybody I want. I'm the one of the richest sodas in sports point. Dairy likes to put on a show but deep deep deep down inside Jerry Jones the persona of a wrapper he wants to flex he wanted to start so he cannot wait to make it. Rain GonNa make speak about it and talk about it all the way up into the process but given opportunity he's GonNa make him the highest paid because that looks good for him and Dak has certainly earned it. I think it's smarter to get it done. And before Patrick mahomes changes changes. There's the overton window. And what we think quarterbacks the other piece of this is we're talking about what deck played for the fact that he played for two million. That's on deck deck that's on the performance that he had Mississippi State and where people projected him to be in the draft become now has he played that yes. But that doesn't mean that the Dallas cowboys had to make up for drafting him. In the fourth round. With this next contract I agree. He should be the highest paid quarterback into league win. His deal is done if it's done before four Patrick Mahomes the other side of that is this. There's amount of money that Dak Prescott can ask for. That's ridiculous right. He can go in and say I want this amount of money Jerry Jones. Could you say you know what you are not worth it. So we have to understand that. Getting Franchise quarterback money doesn't mean. I'm setting the bar so high. The quarterbacks aren't even nearby yeah in the franchise money projected for a quarterback. If he were to be franchised. It'd be twenty seven million dollars. I want to ask you this. If he does get franchise what do you think should he sit out. I think he's just sit out. Well listen the press the press to do was set by Zeke Elliott. Zeke Elliott was in Kabul getting fat. And then he got fed. So if you're going to do that if you're gonna a show me that you can get ninety million for hanging out on the beach. And I'm your franchise guy you show me. Show me that. You will take the fitness of timber or I don't know about it. Tell me a damn thing about this. Twenty seven.

Jj decide to take the inside right on the bank it Creates Open Free Life Pat Mahomes to go create and look out say the time and time again we gotta start talking about him as a dual threat guy because now he's starting to pick up in May gain trains and plays with his feet. Here's a similar situation. This is a pretty good pocket but one of those tackles has to press back to the center. Line of scrimmage if you don't fifteen identified that and and it gets out and even on this play but Najd mckinney was spine Patrie mold so he's in that lead quarterback that has a talent. You know what else we knew knew Michael Jordan was gonNA shoot due to fade away. But you can stop it. Wasn't I kind of disagree with reliant only to delight because that'd be line is Great. They're going to get some Saks Olafur. The chiefs is also great. And I don't know if a sack is one sack is equivalent to sixty yard touchdown and he's GonNa throw so he's got to give us some tax that he's going to overcome thirty third. Wait a number leads all the time you're going to give up plenty long touchdown looks not blitz is less than the San Francisco Forty niners and you really think they're going to change aged now no chance of it. They're going to have to mix their coverages and get after they were not make a habit out of that. Cover three because Andy Reid loves full and Patrick Mahomes. There's GonNa eat those teams alive. That's what they think they're going to see a lot of to man and and On third down he's run. The ball can't niners niners now. You have the recipe to limit. Patrick Mahomes guys. "The Super Bowl for the first time in seven years. Nothing says domination more than they didn't throw the ball for an hour thirty four minutes in escape. Most of the greatest game for a running back postseason history out of nowhere and a defense that well. Let's just say they eat flesh. Glassy the forty niners you in making their suitable offensive line. That's better than even I thought it was being gained one hundred ninety six yards before contact before they were touch. They gave one hundred and eighty six yards rushing those holes were huge for those running backs and you and it showed that they don't need your upload to win Games. They don't need George Kill. Let me be the best tight end in football. What did he catch to have to catches their? They don't need kill or Garoppolo to win games they can win them just pounded on the ground with the offensive line's tremendous all right one catch but he is part of that offensive line when he was on the field page. What do the forty niners prove to you that they could win without a newfangled? Offense spreads and young coaches stuff like that. This is the same office about forty years old. He's with my well. Well what do you think he got it. I will give you a side story here. Every day. They take their meetings. They take their practices and they send it to Mike Shanahan and and he is really the coach of this team and they're running the same system that he did when he was in San Francisco before twenty five years ago and they won the Super Bowl when he was with the Broncos when they won two super bowls that this is nothing new this zone blocking. It's one cut back and you saw that yesterday over and over again and so they have a good offensive Richard Wind. It runs it to perfection. Israel Gutierrez San Francisco proved what you well. What's nothing new? Is this formula. This is what we've been seeing all season long but they've been sort sort of just just fine tuning as we go if you look. There's no surprise Jimmy Garoppolo passing numbers if you look at his last four games. They've been trending the pass attempts down I think in the low twenty s then to eighteen. Not then tonight we we lauded the Patriots right for what are they do. They go into playoffs and they play to their strengths. Even if it's something that you haven't seen all season long they're going to surprisingly run the ball plot or they're gonNA throw these short passes. Well the forty nine hundred telling you look we can do the same thing this play to our strengths. You cannot stop us and we've been showing you this has been coming for a while amount and you still can't stop us. They have town at all those positions but most how many times has he been. Let me say were seven uniforms. I mean this. This is not this talent scheme scheme and some talent mixed solo in the school football players always talk about in the trenches offensive and defensive line for the forty niners is outstanding. Getting you know the one thing about Garoppolo. Everyone's knocking how many passing through. He didn't have to throw a lot and let's not forget. They went on the road and one of the game in New Orleans. Where he threw for four touchdown passes and in about three hundred fifty yards so when they need Jimmy Garoppolo to perform? He's done it on the road in big games. We talk for a second about the packers here. Rogers says the window is still open to juicy Rogers unders.

"Lethal player in the sport at the quarterback tobacco possession and everyone went nuts this year about Lamar Jackson but the great regular season he had. This guy has dominated the last two years. He's an offside penalty last year from now. Going to back to back super bowls also with the defense at speed the skill positions and Tony this game turn late in the second quarter. The defense got a three and out on Tennessee. They gave the ball back to Kansas City. You we needed to get out of that first half with elite and he marched right down the field without even using a time out and then you showed that twenty seven yard run where you have to play him to throw the ball and then once he gets outside you you can't even stop them Israel Gutierrez what are the chiefs show you a making their super bowl. I mean he already. They already showed us. They can come back from a deficit so this one wasn't that huge. But look if you watch Patrick Mahomes. And just when he's healthy he his offensive line gives him some time and when they don't he creates more for himself and we've seen it before. We talked about the arm angles. No look but yesterday some of those throws especially on the run. They look like they would hurt the arm of most people but he gets it to places that you just you see his guy slide. In there and make these catches is the guy's phenomenal and you combine that with the ridiculous amount of speed that they have that one replay. On the tyreek Hill touchdown. I don't know how you stop that in man-to-man covered the guys impossible symbol to stop at the line. You combine that with having the best player at the most important position. I don't know how you pick against paid you're laughing. You've been covering this game for about as long as this chiefs drought from the Super Bowl. All has been fifty years. Would they prove to you yesterday. Well I'm glad those guys finally discovered Patrick Mahomes but let's talk about I. I discovered a defense that came through. They turned old hickory into old. No injury I mean. He had one yard second people talk about wanting to keep running the football. They couldn't run the football. The only chance they had was to start passing and that hadn't been part of their post-season plan at all. So the defense. This continue to do a really good job. They have since the second half of the previous game and again yesterday and I think that if they can carry that defensive the Super Bowl against a team that's going to run the football that's going to be a difference there and bill wooded Kansas City. Prove to you with this win. She's an unflappable bowl unflinching champion team. They're the first team in postseason history trail two games by double digits and win both games by double digits never happened before in postseason history. And they he did it. Not We'll do with mahomes but like what he said. The Defense Henry Twenty six yards after. Contact those defensive backs hit him. They were all all they were all over him. And and I can't see that surprise. Brank you seem to be Take something from what woody in plastic. You're saying disagreeing go ahead. Yes yes their defense and Steve spag. They've done a very good job. But this is Patrick Mahomes. They're still falling behind. You guys both mentioned how they they came back. Why are they coming back because mahomes is out there and listen? Three kill is not the feel good story of the year. But let's be fair here that do down the field on a field full of fast guys. He's so much faster than everybody else is. Good here's I I don't WanNa hear about the look at the titans drives in the first half before that one where they lead up eight plays nine plays fifteen place. It wasn't the chiefs defense. Held them down. It was this offense ends up. Put the pressure on them over and over and over again and before they gave up. What thirty some points that? We're behind by a bunch. Come grow this Jamie takes. It went so right for the first twenty five minutes or so. Do you think they kind of got away from that plachy. In some way they abandoned the run through early on it was the defense is. This is a titans team that had beaten the Patriots. It's that had beaten the Ravens. The tightest then relied on long exhaustive drives in secondhand. He plays for drive the average. Four point five please. Per drive in the second half. That's you're you're not convincing. I think you said long and exhausting. Feeling your argument is long exhausting here. The face of the game correct. We all agree on this. Is the rainy. Mvp We know he's not GonNa win it this year. 'cause he missed those games in the middle of the season but now you have a have a quarterback and his peak right now playing in the Super Bowl Patrick mahomes. This is his year on the grand scheme of things percentage that this is Andy. Reed's team that this is Patrick. Mahomes team where are you on that. Just real quick Frank Zola. Well it's amazing even storm replacing Philadelphia. Everybody loves Andy Reid but come on. They haven't been to the Super Bowl. What is it fifty fifty years? It's Patrick Mahomes. He's facing the entire thing and Andy. Reid would be the first one. Yeah I mean. Look Andy Reed's done this before with other quarterbacks has not been this good with Patrick Mahomes is the difference maker and when you combine what he does the way he does it throwing passing the end just his look his sound everything about them says. Hey this guy is the face of the NFL NFL. We'll move on the San Francisco Forty niners back to.

"Can he be unstoppable Mahomes is standing at his locker after the late October Broncos game pulling on white sweater? He has only one locker right now rather than the customary to for superstars we all need things to strive for. But he looks comfortable and at home around the guys after a win just like visiting his dad in a big league clubhouse. He threw four touchdown passes. But left plenty of plays on the field, including one when he rolled right and had hill open on post running across in a way, a throw the chiefs would have never called for Alex. Smith, but Mahomes Sawhill too late around the corner is a private party the chiefs host for friends and family after every home game and Patrick is in a hurry to see his folks, it all reminds me a little of Tom Brady in two thousand one the mystical embryonic stage of something special, Pat and Randy have the journalist exhaustion. Tom senior and Gaylon Brady had back then flying across the country every weekend on a ride. They had to soak up because nobody knew when it would end I might skip Cleveland pets senior said the night before the Broncos game of the chiefs upcoming opponent before thinking better of it. Now, I'll go to Cleveland. Nobody knows where Kansas City sees them. We'll in but it's well known that for the chiefs and for read over the past two decades. It has ended early Mahomes is a limitless quarterback leading a historically limited team. The chiefs have been careful with him publicly at once allowing him to be celebrated but trying to limit the toll not wanting the hype to short circuit would could be their year right now. At least Mahomes is immune to the doubt that creeps into teams that always come up short that even crept into Elway. In the years after he learned a wondrous arm alone gets a team only so far fear is his biggest enemy and the Kansas City offices. I asked Mahomes, whether there's some highlight he goes back to when he needs a lift, I never really watched anything that helps me get a confidence boost he says, I pretty much just keep it moving and keep it rolling feel like even if something goes wrong. I have confidence in myself and my team. That will fix it. Our team thing is let's roll. Whatever happens. I'll bounce back. Imagine living that way perpetually liberated. Maybe some day later in his career Mahomes will have to try to recapture that feeling when some inevitabilities of the NFL sets in or maybe not maybe a rare arm allows for an even rarer mind in the fourth quarter against the Broncos. The chiefs were up ten but Denver was slowly creeping back into the game Mahomes started to scramble but through to Kelsey. Hi and hard and into the arms of Broncos safety. Justin, Simmons Mahomes headed to the bench irritated, but not crushed for plays later the chiefs forced day keenum, fumble and Mahomes leapt off the bench hug if you defensive players in yelled, thanks for picking me up that he snatched the ball from them and started warming up his release fluid and clean an own point. All that is required of him. Mm and all that he is ever required of himself Mahomes. Never told me what it feels like to make extrordinary throws only that those throws don't feel extraordinary to him. That's the gap between him and ninety nine percent of the men and boys will drop back into a pocket this fall. But the ninety nine percent can have a taste in mid October. Sam cook.
