The Axeman of New Orleans

"All right folks settle in because today we're in. New Orleans. So, nineteen eighteen to nineteen nineteen I'll carry we've got some pretty big stuff going on here. There's a lot of names. And quite frankly there's just a lot of information so I'm really just going to go. Bare. Bones. Here's the information kinda thing. Okay. That makes sense. Perfect. So. New Orleans. We're in nineteen eighteen. For, those of you who don't know our New Orleans is it's in Louisiana. Continuing may twenty third of nineteen eighteen? So it is sticky hot in Louisiana New Orleans. For, those of you who don't come from the south of the United States, it gets a really stupid humid and really stupid around this. Time of year okay. Like, miserable miserable like it's weather you wear as what we say it's growth. -actly. But. Honestly I don't know if it was any different back then you know climate change and all that. Probably not. Anyway so During this time. The town of New Orleans was. Just. Terrified for their lives and I'm going to get into exactly why here in a moment but Let's talk about. The first victim occur. Protect Victims I. Guess. So we've got Joseph and Katherine go on May Twenty Third Nineteen eighteen like I said. They owned a grocery store and they lived in a little apartment like above the. Grocery. Store. They were both Italian Americans hard working they. Were pretty much part of the community I mean they own a grocery store so You know people know him some people like them. It was also a weird time. and. that. It was a time that was. Racially. Distraught almost people didn't necessarily Really. Get along with other races. Sure, so you know. We can relate. Yeah. It doesn't feel that different from now. Yeah. Yeah. So it's nice to know that one hundred years ago. People were still stupid yet. So. They own this grocery store they lived above it and the night of May twenty third they. Were attacked in their, apartment? He had his skull fractured by his own acts and his throat was slit with razor. And she. Her throat had also been cut. And she actually died choking on her own blood. Oh my gosh. How terrifying? Yeah. That was the first of the whole thing and it was absolutely terrible. So you'll hear a lot of me saying that the victim owned their axe on the acts that. was used against them or that there was a panel chiseled out of. One of the doors to get into the house. Okay. Okay. Intriguing. Yeah. So just keep ears out for that. Okay, they're ready they're ready and prepared. Okay. So. The MAGGIO's died. I two victims right there came. Okay both Italian. Americans. Now. We've got to other people. On June twenty seventh Lewis, Bessemer and his mistress Harriet low. were. Sleeping. In. Bed. As. One does. and. late in the night they you know got their heads bashed in by Bessemer. Zone acts. He actually was very fortunate and that he live unfortunately Harry it did in fact die. Oh my goodness. That makes three actual victims. One is living. I wonder how all Lewis survived that. Girl. I don't know but I think people back in the day had very hard heads because there's a few more that. Show my goodness. Okay boiler but. I'm like, how on Earth do you live through? An axe bashing your head in. Yeah. No kidding. That's insane. So. Just tally up the count again, we've got four victims. Re Dead. came. So he's got a pretty good running. Statistic. Yep. Next we have Anna Schneider. On August fifth. Anna was. Asleep. She was also eight months pregnant. She was no. Yeah. She was twenty eight years old and she lived on L. Myra, street which I only put in because I used to live on an. L., Myra straight. That's crazy. What a weird coincidence I know. Anyway so Anish neider was home alone. Her husband was off working late and so she. Has I'm assuming eight months pregnant ladies are got tired and so she

"O. D. Y. for South Florida Brian Maggio starts right now L. six W. Y. O. G. there's a broader baby blue Daddy in for Brian and as I was going through some of the stuff here this morning I realize that today is the day back in nineteen ninety seven Mike Tyson bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear you member the boxing match third round he went after the right ear that he went after the left ear here's a couple of crazy things about that event first of all nobody can definitively say where that part of Evander Holyfield's ear is today I've heard rumors that Mike Tyson presented it with a in in Georgia Malahide to him I've heard rumors that some guy bought it at auction all I can tell you is this it was never re attached to Evander Holyfield's head they tried matter of fact after the fight was over you had a couple of people going to the ring put on latex gloves grab a piece of the year take it to the dressing room of a Evander Holyfield they took off in an ambulance with the ear in a disappeared from there it just disappeared somebody took it so might be sitting on somebody's mantel it might be a show piece in a bar somewhere but I can tell you this it's not back on his head you know by the way Mike Tyson when you when you think about iron Mike in his financial woes back in the day he was spending four hundred thousand dollars a year on pigeons the upkeep of pigeons I mean the guy the guy's got a storied past and he's also well let's just throw it out there stone cold crazy Mike Tyson Evander Holyfield that went down on this day in nineteen ninety seven are you got a lot lot of news out there about the corona virus right lap now what's good NBC news radio national correspondent Michael Bauer live in the city with the latest Mike what's going on here when Daddy you are seeing at least at this point in time five different states that are in dire emergency and approaching dire emergency fast we're looking at like Texas as one of the key states who yesterday had to make an announcement from the governor that they were putting a pause on all activities moving forward as far as re open the state went and actually took a small step back by saying that in Texas the anything that would be considered to be but nonessential medical treatment or if you're looking for have an elective surgery or any sort of elective treatment done was going to have to be put on hold because they needed the room in the state for all of the covert cases the the hospital space there if you just look at Houston itself the residents there have been infected in the case rate is growing so rapidly that all hospitals in the greater Houston metro area may run out of intensive care unit beds for today that battle be it today and then you're going to be forced into what they call the surge capacity meaning that in the next ten days all of the city's hospitals can be filled to the brim over that ten day time frame so that's just one part of Texas and they are having those similar kinds of cases throughout the entirety of the state of Texas which is called the governor to take that pause moment you're seeing the same thing with with governor to satisfy your in Florida do you see in Arizona you're seeing the Louisiana governor John bel Edwards has issued a new proclamation extending phase two restrictions for another twenty eight days and that's not even talking about the state of South Carolina or California which are kind of heading in that direction remember California was one of the state's early on the shut things down seem to get ahead of this and then all of a sudden it's having some massive surges come forward there and and for the most part even though they've gone through that re opening they aren't even a number of cities there aren't even at a place where restaurants are are open for anything more than take out so there are big concerns that we are seeing some of the highest numbers as a country that we've seen since the outbreak began and what are we going to do to try to change that or is any of this being linked back to protest Michael all the people who took to the streets over the course of the past three weeks there are some in theory we do know like in California for instance where they had a lot of protest there there are concerns that it could be protest that they have driven up the numbers here they've been saying that they've been doing a lot of testing in California that is his phone ringing true you are seeing them do a lot of testing there and it does seem that some of the numbers that we're seeing are based upon the tests that are coming back they've been testing a lot of people who got a hundred thousand they tested yesterday alone in California in regards to people who may have been involved with protests and then and were concerned about the sort of younger demographic now the eighteen to twenty nine year old that seem to be the highest across the country that are catching and spreading the virus so but there's no clear cut length right now that anything has to do with those protests in fact using kind of the opposite with some research indicating that the black lives matter protests have not been a transmission spot for this disease but there is also concern then you have like social elements that come into play here with the people for graduations or some sort of a a class end of year party type of thing Memorial Day or was even a father's day celebration good could have come into play for this all so those are still questions are other no directly going back any peace protest yet hi Michael I appreciate have a great weekend bye you too enjoy hi that's Michael Barr and NBC news radio national correspondent so couple things here first of all you can't sit here and tell me that we can blame the spread across a virus on a trump rally a Memorial Day picnic a graduation party and.

"Y. for South Florida Brian Maggio starts right now six to N. W. Y. O. D. we're going to have a phenomenal economy and next year we'll have a good third quarter but next year and I said it before will be the single greatest year economically that we've ever had okay well good morning and and hopefully if it really is Hey good morning it's the kitchen sink a new cycle we've been living through and I hope you had a wonderful fathers day as well you know it just is one of these deals to where every time you turn around we are having something else that we're having to deal with than most recently on top of everything else of course it is the spiking cases that we've been seeing with Kevin nineteen and specific to South Florida now the first thing is it's it's no joke you hear these numbers it is very much real take a look at the hot zones the overall hot spots that are based upon zip code from the Florida department helped with eleven new ones since Friday another new ones and nine of those in Miami Dade so all in now we have in terms of hot spots thirty four zip codes that are hot spots in Miami Dade nine in Broward nine in Palm Beach county and the message is ultimately that's all talk a little bit more about this they even touch on it with Dr Ben Carson is in South Florida today working on opportunity zones with hud but we really need to be smart and safe because the easiest way I can convey the message is every day thousands of Floridians start the day healthy and by the end of the day they're not they've done something that probably was a little bit reckless or careless and now you have the virus you don't to be the next person so anyway what we're gonna walk through all kinds of information today before start with what you heard the president his rally in Tulsa on Saturday and why we might have seen as many empty seats as you might have seen in the upper end of that auditorium Michael our NBC news radio covering this story at the Bauer show on Twitter how you doing Michael I am doing well and happy Monday to you Sir yes for sure but to maybe not necessarily the happiest reception in Tulsa because AOC saying maybe there shenanigans that put shenanigans and tomfoolery and you're seeing the people possibly responsible for the ocean and against and tomfoolery stepping up to the plate and saying that they were responsible for the lower numbers at the arena in Tulsa you're seeing people who are using the social media app tick tock the of some sort and video thirty second one minute videos that people post on their social media to caucus with media will pick talkers had posted videos over the past couple of weeks encouraging their followers to register for tickets for trump's rally in order to deny spots for supporters of the president they also then recruited K. pop stans who are the music fans of Korean pop music and they all did their magic their social media magic and possibly on some level elevated read have we heard from the trump campaign a million people have been requesting tickets to go to the trump Tulsa Oklahoma rally that's very possibly work those kinds of numbers that come from but in regards to whether or not they were actually responsible for the lack of people showing up at the arena you're looking at president trump's campaign manager Brad Parscale saying nope that's not it let this an online troll doing a victory lap thinking they somehow impacted rally attendance don't know what they're talking about or how our rallies work and parse gal in turn is pointing fingers which is one of those things Washington DC does really well saying that the fact is it would be weeks worth of fake news media warning people away from the rally because of Covidien protesters coupled with the recent images on fire that's what had the real impact on people bringing their families and children to the rally now with that couple different things their number one president trump indicated going into Friday that there would be not only local law enforcement but also National Guard available to protect anybody and everybody who wanted to come to that venue to see president trump speak at the bank of Oklahoma center arena so it seemed as though any kind of protest element which there didn't seem to be much of a problem going into Friday or Saturday but that that would be taken care of with that kind of law enforcement then you get to the covert angle here and while fox news on Friday found that fifty nine percent of Americans that the crowded campaign events are a bad idea given the risks from corona virus and then you couple that with the web seems like half a dozen members of the advance team for trump's campaign testing positive for corona virus and then an additional two members of the secret service team also testing positive for the virus and having to go into immediate sort of lockdown for covert precautions during during covert protocol it kind of brought a realization to what at least in this particular case his campaign manager is calling fake news over corona virus all right so at this point and with all that in hand in hand with what transpired Saturday are there any additional rallies that are being scheduled or they hit the pause but we are now no they're all at least at this point what what I can tell you that this hour they're still planning on having their rally in Arizona tomorrow Phoenix Arizona is where the president's going to be it's supposed to be a much more sort of controlled atmosphere you know one of the big concerns going into the Tulsa route was we're gonna have twenty thousand people in an arena which ended up only having sixty two hundred people are less than sixty two hundred people but you're gonna have twenty.

"O. D. Y. for South Florida Brian Maggio starts right now sixty W. Y. O. G. we still don't really know the fundamental damage that's been done to the economy and with more than twenty million people losing their jobs over the span of a few months in this country that's going to take time to bring all of those jobs back if even all of those jobs come back yeah no kidding I mean that's one the things it's quite weird right now I mean even in our communities I'm still trying to figure out in some cases okay what businesses have decided they're not going to reopen yet versus how many businesses are never going to re open again because you're done it's hard to tell especially with a lot of small companies you take a look at the stock market even though the Dow off two hundred fifty points right now real time nasdaq it's ten more record heights technology doing it's a it's it's weird it's like what's real what isn't here to talk about this for Bankrate dot com it's Greg McBride Greg how you doing a good morning text randomly yeah so what Israel in this economy well you know the first you you mentioned the stock market and you E. L. D. it does seem counterintuitive how could we see such a rally in the stock market over the last you know two months two and a half months at a time when twenty million people are are losing their jobs it's important to recognize one is that the stock market is forward looking and so the market's moving now based on expectations for the economy and corporate earnings one two three quarters down the road we'll call that the stock market was tanking in late February and early March before it was even declared a pandemic right we were all still get not get in the car going to work every morning and yet the stock market was tanking at that point again market looking forward and saying Hey this this is this is gonna be a thing long before it became a thing economically that's right you know that's that's the first thing it also you mentioned that you know different businesses well I think one of the things here it's not so much the viability of the business model as much as it was the financial position of the the business entity if they didn't have the cash to tide them over they could be out of business before they get a chance to re open and that's why you've seen everything from support for airlines to you know lending programs designed to you know the paycheck protection program for small and mid size businesses is to just give them sustained those businesses given the cash the access to capital that they need for that period of time until they can we open the doors and inflated beyond lease return to something resembling normal business you brought up something that easy I mean it's not a macro economic type of question so there might not be an answer that you can provide but just curious to get your thoughts on if nothing else yeah so what some have been monitoring and I've heard this from not a bunch but you know a smattering of local business owners and then it goes along the lines of there being the risk reward of taking on a business or maintaining a business and that you know that is it it's hard I mean first for start ups you know barely half make it five years it's really hard to start a small business to be successful and then even when you are successful you know often that doesn't mean you're raking in the cash it means that you you managed to scrape out a living or keep the thing going and so when you're already operating in that kind of an environment and then you will see that all the sudden you could no fault of your own have governments just tell you you got to shut down your business and for whatever length of time and they're going to tell you even want to Cameri open again you know what you're able to do what capacity you know the last analysis I saw two thirds of restaurants that have reopened because of limited capacity are still losing money and those are the ones that made it through you know so it it's like all these terms and conditions that weren't part of the risk analysis going in and then you add into it curfews because of protests and everything else any idea about how we might see especially smaller businesses and entrepreneurs impacted because of a skewed risk reward dynamic that has come into focus here well I mean you know reverie point you make is I think you know spot on and and and yeah I mean what restaurant can can turn a profit at fifty percent capacity no not not too many and so what if they're running a fifty percent capacity now it's because they will probably run a hundred percent capacity pre pandemic you look at the downstream effects of after running a fifty percent capacity they don't need a hundred percent of the staff of the past people are getting the hours that they were getting they're not getting the you know the income that they were getting in so yeah there's definitely an economic ripple effect here yeah you know the effect on entrepreneurs I mean I hit the nail on the head I mean you know somebody that you know the kind of poor their their life's work into this business and you know not to overuse the word unprecedented because it's been used a lot lately but you're really just kind of have this unprecedented scenario that completely comes out alive field that's not part of that risk reward calculation I'll probably will be going forward but yeah this first time for everything right and I ate yeah absolutely I know he represented yeah I just as one example yeah perfectly viable businesses that were rocking and rolling pre pandemic that are now teetering on the edge of just completely gone out of business simply because of you know being in an environment where you're you're told to shut down go home stay home and you can't go back to doing business there's a profile on sixty minutes several weeks.

"Live from South Florida Brian Maggio starts right now sixty W. Y. O. D. every state was opened last month so a lot of other states are starting to open this month so there's a great hope that we can continue with this momentum yes sure enough and didn't Ding dang we are on stand by for the president as he is going to talk about the economy the jobs numbers coming out this morning now one thing about all this and happy Friday by the way one thing about all this if you happen to listen to the show yesterday you would be surprised by what was reported this morning I know everybody else and their brothers all my gosh how did we get here all this and that well one of the things that pointed out is we don't know based upon weekly jobless claims what what's really going on that's half the picture all a weekly jobless number tells you well this many people filed for unemployment yes but yes but and the S. but is well how many people are actually going back to work how many people are being hired we did now we don't know what the impact of re opening was on the US economy until Wednesday when the ADP private sector jobs report came out and win I ended up digging into that information shared it with you a little bit on Wednesday but more so yesterday I pointed out and explain how eleven to seventeen million more people are working then the forty million figure being reported eleven to seventeen million more people working and then what your god also sends letters news media was just running with not all right now we have president trump now on these job numbers lance lance is very we are ready for the president hello we are stand by for present trouble we also right now have a lance larue's so he is a former law enforcement officer he has an attorney and he is a guy that is doing a lot of good trying to help protect those that protect all of us in our communities he's the author of the hunting of men when cops killed and peacemaking also blue news lance thank you for taking the time with us today how you doing I'm doing well thank you I I'm never confuse with the president before I have my own secret service detail but that might well I I know that you have a lot of experience in in helping protect people you know better are quite significant and lance we take a look at where we are this moment in our country's history it's alarming so we have all these the fun police movements going on around the country your thoughts on where we stand right now well so far the deep unbelief movement these are people who failed third grade law enforcement are the people who are in impoverished communities making a difference in trying to keep people alive keeping kids out of the hands of drug dealers and trying to keep gangs from getting all the kids when they're young and nobody else seems to be doing that so D. funding the police when I see that I want to add and then what because if you don't have law enforcement in a community you have anarchy well you you in and we see that this weekend yet this the fine movement is under way now I mean your backgrounds they both in law enforcement but also it in attorney how much of what's going on do you think is politics versus people that actually believe and more or less anarchy here sure I think the anarchists are there there are few and far between they're a very small group but the only way they can get any leverage is to burn buildings break windows can kill people that's what they do but they always show up to protest because there's a lot of people there they show up to peaceful protest and they caused the confusion because the police resources are taken up and it's everything from if you can have a peaceful protest people having to figure out where to park their having to walk there having to close streets and they take advantage of the fact that there's confusion there and and a lot of police resources so the people that don't understand the difference between a protester and a writer a protester is the first amendment activity it is a person of the person who is peaceful and have a message and the law enforcement officers wind up showing up because on the other end of the spectrum we have writers who were committing crimes the law enforcement officers have an obligation to protect the first amendment rights of the peaceful protesters and the property there to make sure it's protected from the writers and the best example we have of that and the ignorance we see of people saying well it got violent because the police were there and right here look at what happened when five law enforcement officers were murdered in Dallas a couple years ago people forget they were providing security for an anti law enforcement rally those law enforcement officers gave their lives to protect protesters who were protesting them the land today and I thought law enforcement I hear what you're saying I agree with your what with where you're coming from certainly but I do not have an arc is the running governments I mean you have the mayor of LA who is actually going along with the the fun movement we also have governments in Nashville I believe I don't want to speak out of turn but I believe it might have even been Philadelphia and also in Minneapolis where you have politicians I mean they hold seats they hold purse strings that are right now making movements to cut off funding to law enforcement I mean that to me is pretty scary well it is scary but it's also politics so I would guarantee you look at the people who are screaming louder loudly I would call it a cacophony of ignorance but the people who are yelling the loudest are probably up for reelection and the more they're up for reelection and they're in trouble on the reelection or the more their cities having problems with finances and other issues the more they're screaming and somebody brought something up just very well and I forget which governor or or mehr they were talking about they said you know this is the same person who just sense what keys to shut down church services and they're out there marching with protesters and criticizing the swat team for trying to keep things from becoming violent what land to you point out something that's really important too and I really appreciate the work that you do I appreciate you taking the time with us today lance larusso is a former law enforcement officer he's an attorney the author of hunting of man when cops kill and peacemaking also a blue news the the issue we have is you literally have people that are putting their communities at risk and they are willing to do it in the name of politics and these people are also advocating for lawlessness one thing and I reference this yesterday and it's so incredibly wrong and I am not interested in in naming names here in South Florida but it's happened right here too we have had it it's been fashion to was that as long as a protest is peaceful that it is it's good it's an exercise the first amendment and everything else and that is horse crap that is utter horse crap the majority of the protests that have taken place even the peaceful ones have been illegal and the reason is because they've been denying other citizens their rights shutting down the roadways shutting down whole city blocks shutting down businesses that is the nine other people rights and it is wrong that is not protected under the first amendment you do not have the right to deny people their rights so we have two things that are going on two layers of incompetence an anti American unconstitutional behavior with leaders at the local level and in some cases at the federal level across this country the first is going ahead and playing the politically correct along with protest maybe they agree with the message maybe they're just playing politics by going along with it but allowing for lawlessness to happen and allowing for the denial of rights of everybody else in that community that is not participating in a protest that is not sanctioned that is not going about the right way but that is a form of caving in to unlawful and unconstitutional behavior and every one of those leaders in every community from here to south border across the country should be ashamed of themselves that should never happen in the name of political correctness people do properly placard permit thank you you have to let them but I understand what you're saying some of the spontaneous protests that you know do because a lot of problems I know that one of the things it's not being recorded is the officers and peaceful protesters getting along just fine the we've seen officers who have been comforting people who are upset we've seen protesters who have grabbed it people committing crimes and drug them to the police line so they can be arrested because they didn't want any part of them I just saw the wire recently out for a protest in it specifically stated on there if you're there to commit violence don't show up in there these some of these folks are meeting with law enforcement had a time they're doing it right they're getting permit and they're saying to law enforcement look this is what we want we're not about the criminal activity where do you want to park where do you want us to walk very appropriate place for us to be and on the other side of this what's getting lost somebody just sent me an email and said how come we have mainstream media programs not talking about the coup on Forsman officers being murdered in the past ten days correct when we look at the the the the underlying complaint aside from the fact that they're lying about racism being rampant at law enforcement that sounds really nice the headline but it's not true but when you start looking at this people complaining we want to improve law enforcement let's face it that's the most laudable goal these folks happy how are you doing that by having officers work twenty one hours yeah by returning home to their families covered in urine and feces and spat because people have been abusing them the entire time they were there and when those officers decide you know I'm done and they walk away and other people who are thinking about getting into law enforcement say I'm never going to apply if you don't like the people we have now you're going to hate the second string when we were trying to hire people can pass background checks it is the biggest fear of had for a long time really do appreciate a Lansing hope you have a great weekend keep fighting the good fight and right on cue with what lance was talking about we have suffered ninety five line of duty deaths already in twenty twenty including four in Florida we have fifty one percent a fifty one percent increase in loss of life in the line of duty this year over the same day last year fifty one percent increase top that past two years the top cause of death for law enforcement murder it doesn't get talked about and it is unfortunate that the horrible actions of a few our paper as the norm in that you have these.

If women have this expression where you're like man that guy's got it all figured out. Right. Did you guys ever use that onto describe women? Like, she's got it all figured out. Do you ever do that? No. I don't think it is kind of a guy thing because most of his guys like we can't figure stuff out. We just can't. When does figure it out. You don't read social drinking? Yes. Like, we don't read Saddam read social cues, particularly. Well, you know, like, that's honestly the thing with with. Let's like I think most males. Biggest problems is we just we don't read signs. We just don't we just kind of plow through life. As if everybody thinks the way that we think problems with women. It's because they think every woman is is is into them why because they're not reading any signs and not actually looking for signs. They just assume that any positives. I mean, I'm in the same reason that I think homophobia occurs because they believe that every homosexual guy should be into them. They're not they're just not they are not into every heterosexual male matter of fact, they're not in the most heterosexual males. And it does not. But again, the heterosexual male. I believe does not read signs at all. Because we don't have figured out. So when a guy does have figured out we all go like, he's got it all figured out. So I don't think that K D. Is the exception. The busted out it looks fantastic. You calling. You look great to Colin whatever's, by the way, it's great to be here on a Monday. I hope all of you have done most of your traveling so far for the next couple of days. We appreciate you stopping by. You're sitting around with your family. It was a remarkable. Really Sunday and NFL season out. We do this every Monday throughout the course of the year. So for the people that would tune in today, and you don't normally watch the show is I have opinions over the course of a week. And then on Mondays the start of my second hour, I show you where I was right last week, and where I was wrong, and these are sort of macro things that I nailed or whiffed on, but we think it's a good opportunity to show you we make a lot of mistakes a lot of times. We're right. So here we go there Monday staple where Colin was right? We're calling was wrong where Colin was right. Our blazing five finish the year. Fifty eight percent. I will not be here on Friday. We pick the giants to lose close to the colts. We were right? We picked Green Bay to go on the road and win by over a field goal. And we pick Seattle beat Kansas City. We had a nother winning week three into it. My second best year ever slightly over fifty eight percent. I we hope you want some money. We maybe a Ford in an extra. A Christmas present for your cat. But we had a good year. We take it. Seriously. Thanks for supporting our blazing five another winning week where Colin was raw. I had said at the beginning of this year that p Carroll was starting to drive me crazy and was becoming Mike Tomlin where I thought too much emotion not enough discipline while I'm wrong, Seattle and Pete Carroll. He may be had his best year coaching. It's not as best team. They're buttoned up they have an identity their offense perfectly complements their defense. I think they're over achieving Pete Carroll solve this offensive line mass in one year. He made very good off season hires Seattle, really and Pete Carroll is leading this deserve a ton of credit. I still think they're roster by and large is Doug Baldwin. Russell Wilson Bobby Wagner it and just a bunch of dudes, but they are winning close games. And they looked exceptionally. Welcome. Coached where Colin was right? We warn the New York Giants. We said be very careful about paying ode L Beckham junior a ton number one. He's fragile number two can be disruptive. Number three. Listen, I said this about JJ watt for years some players are great individual talents. But they don't necessarily elevate the unit, and I feel sometimes ally manning glommed onto Odell Beckham because he feels he has to get him involved. I felt this for years with Dez Bryant of the Cowboys. I think right now the New York Giants need of draft another quarterback. And if they could move on Odell and get better offense, lineman long-term for sake. One barkley. I think that's the better move. Now. I will say this his Nike commercial owed ELS Nike. Maybe the best commercial on the market right now. He does that in one handed catches as well as anybody on the planet where Colin was raw. "And f s one one hour from now where Colin was right where Colin was wrong, plenty of bolt in a wild NFL weekend. Jamie Maggio is joining me today. Then I'm gonna go skiing, Jamie. Great to see you. How are you? I'm good. I'm not going skiing because last time I did that. I tore my ACL. Oh, don't ski. So you east key for both of us taking the kid skin. All right. It is great to be here. I'm happy to be here. I love to be here today. This is usually a vacation week. And I said now I'm coming work in money. There's too much to talk about. And so we have a completely packed show today. Thank you so much as yen rap Gibson, the next couple of hours for joining us today on f s one I just want to say this to start Greg. Game last night. Great games yesterday. But you do get Russell Wilson was better than Patrick Mahomes last night and Mahomes will win the MVP in Russell Wilson. Did not make the Pro Bowl. Aaron Rodgers did. And Russell Wilson beat Aaron Rodgers this year had had to Russell Wilson. Didn't just win last night. He out Mahomed home. The biggest scramble of the night. That was Russell the biggest thrill of the night. All that was Russell with less surrounding talent. He had significantly more. First downs was better on third down was more accurate as a thrower average over a yard more per pass and dominated time of possession. But the media is so desperate to define the new shiny toy that they overlook LeBron when it comes to MVP and give it to the flashy guard, they overlooked the great players right in front of a Mike. Russell wilson. It's the new guy who doesn't look when he throws for the record. If you're going to be MVP. I think you have to win one of the four biggest games this year and Mahomes now over four and this is not criticizing him as a player. It's not all his fault. But Goth Brady rivers and Wilson. On a Sunday night a Monday night Thursday night. And again, Sunday night, stand alone games all of them Goff. Brady. Rivers Wilson were the better quarterback at the end of those games. More decisive made the big throw made the big decision. All four were better. Not saying Mahomes is an amazing fun clever. Congrats to the chiefs you found your dude. He is awesome. I love watching him play. But Owen four and the four biggest games of the year. Should not be MVP. All NFL games are not equal. That's why they give the Heisman to the quarterback who plays. Great in the biggest games to in Alabama dominated citadel struggled against Georgia and didn't win. I don't care. What you do in September. You know, a team that struggles in September every year New England this league is about post thanksgiving. It's about standalone primetime games Kerr. Cousins is great on that one o'clock window. He and Andy Dalton can't win primetime games. And that's why fans criticize him. I'm not blaming Mahomes for anything. He's fantastic. He's a great kid. He's got a great story. I am rooting for him. I love Andy Reid. The chiefs will make the playoffs. Hey, I said, I think they have a chance probably get to the AFC championship. But you do get last night the guy with the defensive head coach with less surrounding talent was the better quarterback. Chris Collins worth who loves Mahomes. I mean, he loves Mahomes it mid late that Mahomes was the second best quarterback on the field. Second down twelve Lawson going further. On your. Russell Wilson is the best deep ball thrower in the game right now. And the reason look at the height he gets on his football. He's gonna throw it straight up in the air and as a receiver. What happens is it comes straight down. So even though the defense is right there. It gives you a chance to pin him on your back. Extend your arms and make the play. If that ball comes in and a low trajectory, you can't do that. That is a benign little throw you want to add a name to the list and conversation throw in Russell Wilson. He's been dad. Good tonight. Yeah. Except he's been here. A while. So he didn't make the Pro Bowl and Mahomes is the shiny new toy. And he'll be the MVP. We always get lost in volume buffets..

"Jamie Maggio is joining me. We have James Harrison of the Steelers and fifteen minutes. He is going to get all riled up, Pittsburgh loses. Tonight's going to think it's going to be a high-scoring Steelers defense right now is a bit of a mess and Tampa. Actually they're hard to run on, so it will force the Steelers to go to the air. And I think it'll be a wildly entertaining Monday night football game. The games were great. Yesterday we've had these one o'clock windows that have been. Fantastic in the NFL you know, it used to be the good Sunday night game was big. The FOX lake gain the CBS late game. The one o'clock windows have been wild. The ratings are up again yesterday, so and with that every Monday at this time where Colin was right, where Colin was wrong. There's plenty of both. So an hour number two to start off here we go where Colin was right. Had a great weekend on blazing five. The blazing five was four and one and I went with upsets. I went for the ugly, New York Giants over the Texans. We got it. I went for Washington shocking, Green Bay upset. We got it. I also had the better of the year last week, a thousand dollar bet on Cleveland and Baker Mayfield that didn't know if Baker would play. So overall, we were five and one of their on our bets. We've had three straight winning weeks and I've already looked at the odds for next week and. Baker Baker touchdown maker very tasty, Cleveland Brown line out there. We'll talk about that more tomorrow on the show where Colin was raw, Josh Allen bills, quarterback. I said of all the guys in the current draft of the five quarterbacks. I thought he had the highest bus potential accuracy issues didn't play against great competition. I gotta tell you give buffalo coaches credit.

"You're not getting the name for. Okay. This is not going to happen. I know he's got the strawberry which I thought the way he makes that. Which would the strawberry lemonade. The first thing I had there that was good was the strawberry lemonade. I really, I really enjoyed it really good then I so I made my way over to the the soup station. I got myself a potato and broccoli soup, which right? Yeah, yes, think and I got myself a piece of sour dough bread and then I. So that was kind of my and I got the garlic cheese pizza thing, and then I got ya. Gotcha. And then I and then I got the other pizza bread the the Quattro from Osceola and and I came back with that. I thought that the pizza bread was great. The Quattro for Maggio was I, I really enjoy. That was probably one of the better things I had there. I still bad. Get it. I understand. I understand that being bad, but good. Everything else. I don't know if I agreed with that was bad, but good, but I had I had the that in and the the other one was fine to the garlic cheese one, but the the, the privately-owned chickens a little suspect. I did not do the the barbecue chicken Asian because it tasted like poison. Right? Yeah, the salon chair on it. I like I was feeling like I was eating, oh, man, didn't. It didn't not good. Like weirdly sweet, it just didn't. It just didn't look great. And then I brought the Brock, the broccoli and potato soup. I really liked. I thought it was good, and I dipped some of the sour dough bread and they're the bread was sweet like you mentioned. And I did not like the bread at all. Like that Sourdot out over. Melt sour and it was not so bread. So. Out of a bag. That's the issue. The multi grain bread I think is is pretty decent, but the sour dough bread is just like they just got it in a plastic bag and then they serve it. It's not even warm. It's just like room templates. And for the fuck of it..

They said it was like, this is son. I don't know. Anyway, distract from a plaintiff. We're not gonna correct. You actually. And then the pizza breads, they've got the Quattro for Maggio cheesy, garlic. The barbecue chicken. I think we've all tasted all those. Let's let's talk soup. Let's pastas. Let's talk breads. Hello? What are you guys? What are you guys picks and pans, I loved. I got the seven vegetables soup. It is vegan and gluten friendly. It was delicious. It was however, mostly celery, but it was a tasty broth. I also got the broccoli and potato chowder, which I very much enjoyed. It was a little to the end. But I'm sure that it varies with your bites. Right. And I liked that had pepper because otherwise they probably would have been like that pasta way too bland. It's not. It's like something you would expect it. It's it's not too thin either. It's like it's got a good. To me, I I couldn't use. It's like, perfect. I could've used a little more cheese in that thing. Yeah, because I do like a lot of cheese in a broccoli chowder soon. Did like that. The broccoli wasn't too crunchy? Oh, yeah. If you got it like a not thoroughly cooked vegetable in a soup. It's so jarring it's so very jarring. Yeah. Yeah. So it was like the perfect like cooked consistency. I tried a little sip of the Asian ginger broth which you are parentless supposed to add stuff to. Yeah, I wanted to see if I liked the broth for what do you add to? It says you can add tofu, Bush rooms, fretted carrots, spinach, and want on strips which are, I think they're next to out. Yeah, yeah. I didn't see notice them immediately. I was like, okay, I'm gonna try the broth before. I try to add anything to didn't like the broth. I didn't. I didn't have any interest. I also got the deep cuddle house chilly, and I liked it a lot. That's a good chili and the big trunk. Chicken noodle soup is always a home run for me. The the Chili's my favorite classic deep kettle. I like to dip the various pizzas in it. So yeah, I do like all make the ads sour cream and cheese to a point where it's like basically just a cheese soup with some savory nece and then I get my pizza and dip it. So it's like dipping my pizza and cheese cheese. It was really thumbs up. Damn. And then. I usually like the French onion soup, but they don't have it there. They didn't have it there when we came. So I was really sad about that. But and then the muffins I loved both muffins that were offered blueberry and the gluten friendly lemon. Yes, thumbs up. I liked lemon better. I think you pointed out the verbiage is very, it's very particular gluten friendly. Yes, it's not actually gluten free if you are like you'll get sick, cannot go to this. The other breads they have. They have the sour dough bread. They have the corn bread, and then they have the multi grain bread. The multi grain bread, I think is pretty nice. It kinda reminds me of the Brown bread from a cheesecake factory, the corn bread, I think is there standout especially because they have this Honey, whipped butter and Honey, what better with that corn bread? I mean, it's it's it's delightful, Mitchell, Michio thoughts on the bread pizza and soup sick. All right. The bread pizza and soups at first of all, I want to say that I had a strawberry lemonade. Are you going to. Bev's. Yeah, I got the high biscuits iced tea and then also made myself Nick Weicker, which is invention a mind to St. one third lemon. And let's. Kept trying to make it stick. None of us said it. I'm gonna call it that from now on I wrote it down in a little book. So. My favorite raising. Palmer. Third spicy, you're not taking over this..
